Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #87
Gran Final: Primera Temporada
Part 1 of Almost 5
Hello Hercai Patio! Telemundo did a strange job of cutting out and moving around scenes to fit the timeframe and the last two minutes of the program, enticing us with scenes of what is to come in Season Two, sometime in 2022. Except for the last scene, I kept the flow that was in the Turkish version and added some nice scenes that were cut out. On with the episode:
We begin with a repeat of Handan calling Yaren and hoping she returns quickly. Yaren does come home and begs her mother not to make her marry Harun because he is crazy. Handan is not listening and hauls Yaren up to her room.
Reyyan joins Miran in the courtyard after helping Grannie Sukran (GS) settle in. She tells Miran that regardless of what HAG has said, having his Grannie here with him will make her feel like this is her home, just as Reyyan feels. Home is where he is. Miran thanks Reyyan for helping the good grandmother. Reyyan says she doesn’t believe anything HAG said about GS. She encourages him to sit with her and tell her how he feels. Before Miran can answer, Elif comes in through the front gate, looking pretty guilty. Miran asks her where she is coming from and who gave her permission to leave? (Geez, no wonder the poor girl wants to leave this house/prison).
A look goes between Elif and Reyyan. In memory mode, we see Elif asking Reyyan for help to meet Azat. Reyyan hesitates at first encouraging her to just let Miran know, but Elif says, my primo goes crazy just hearing Azat’s name. I only want to say goodbye to him as I may never see him again. Reyyan agrees to help her get past the guards. Back in the present, Elif tells Miran that although HAG wants her to be, she is not a prisoner in her own home. Miran tries to say he was just worried about her, but Elif says she will just wait in her room until it is time for her release to freedom. Miran tells Reyyan that he is glad she is leaving and hopes she will be happy and find new friends away from the smothering of HAG.
Yaren continues to try and convince Handan and Harun is nuts and pleads with her to stop the wedding. Handan drags her up to the bedroom where the stylist has made good use of her time curling her hair into a Medusa looking updo. Handan tells her to make Yaren look like a presentable human in 10 minutes. Yaren continues to say that Harun is a psycho. Handan tells her, great, you will behave at the engagement ceremony, take the ring and go off to your new life and have plenty of psycho babies. Hanife comes in to say that the pastry for the evening is ready, she shares barbs with Handan and Yaren until Handan chases her out of the room.
Azat arrives at the konak after his meeting with Elif. He remembers their conversation and his advice that what they are planning will be hard to undo. She shakes her head, saying I know, there is no turning back, I have thought a lot about this. I am ready to control my life and get out of the house (Azat looks pensive and sad). His thoughts are interrupted by Cihan knocking on the truck window. Azat gets out of the truck. Cihan asks if everything is okay? Where has he been? He has been calling him but his phone is off. Azat says he is fine. Is it Reyyan? No, says, Azat, getting frustrated. I have given up on Reyyan. Even your love? No response from Azat. It is over he tells his dad. I don’t want to talk about it anymore. Cihan just reminds him that love is beautiful, but the other person must return that love. Azat says he is over Reyyan and he goes into the konak.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #87
Gran Final: Primera Temporada
Part 2 of Almost 5
In her room at the Aslanbey konak, Sukran looks at another picture of the beautiful Dilsah saying, I hope I did the right thing coming here but once I smelled you in my grandson, I knew I cannot leave him again. I don’t know how much life God will give me, but now that I am near him, I will not let him go. That bitch (ok I added that) Azize, separated us once before. I won’t let that happen again. Rest in peace my beautiful daughter. She kisses her picture and prays.
ReyMir meet back in their bedroom. Miran gives her a big, happy hug and says, I don’t know how I would be able to handle all of this if it weren’t for you. They are each other’s strength, she says. Now get some rest, take a nap. Miran takes his place at the foot of the bed and says, I promised you, I won’t sleep in this bed until you are there with me.
With a mischievous smile, Reyyan says, well what do you know, who said you wouldn’t sleep in that bed. She heads over to the bed, removes her shoes and lies down. Miran watches and is clearly thrilled. Reyyan says, the bed is much more comfortable than the chair or the floor. He is happy to join her. (We are all thrilled!). His happiness is short lived as he sighs and says, I wish we could run away and we didn’t have to bring our problems back with us. Reyyan says, it is time for us to work through our problems and not run away. It is time to find the truth and make things beautiful. It is time to love each other more. What are you thinking about? he asks. We have been through so much, she says, all the storms we have weathered. We are back from the dead, even after our greatest break up. Yesterday, you told me for the first time that you loved me. Why?
Miran sit ups and strokes her hair. Reyyan, those words are not enough to express my deep feelings for you. I love every part of you separately. He inhales deeply, your scent, gently touching her face, he continues softly, your eyes, your nose, your lips, your heart. He gently kisses the tip of her nose and her hand, pulling her into an embrace. I haven’t forgotten the other promise I made you, he says, nothing will happen in this room that you are not comfortable or ready for. She nods and smiles. (Guess she is not ready, darn it).
Miran continues, in my heart, I only see you. I also see myself in your heart, she says, but I like hearing that you love me. I love you so much Reyyan, he responds. So very much. You are my essence Reyyan, without you, I am not me. That is how much I love you. If there is no Reyyan, Miran does not exist. She smiles and kisses him on the cheek, re-snuggling in the crook of his arm. I missed you, she says, closing her eyes. I missed you very much, he responds, kissing her forehead. It is a beautiful overhead camera shot of them in bed, united, as they fall asleep.
A knock on Sukran’s door indicates that Sultana is there and wants to talk. Hello Aunt Sukran, do you remember me? Yes, says Sukran, as she invites Sultana to sit with her on the bed. Sultana begins, I thought that you might have died from the pain in losing your daughter and then your grandson. I know you searched for him many times. Now you have fulfilled your promise to not die without holding your grandson to your bosom.

Part 3 of Almost 5
Sukran, holds her hand. Sultana surprises her by saying, but you cannot stay here. I don’t want to kick you out or keep you from Miran, in fact I looked forward to this day for many years. I am afraid that Azize will make your life a living hell. No one better than me knows what she is capable of and you should leave.
You don’t know my pain Sultana, says Sukran. The loss of a child is devastating. Yes, I do, says Sultana. She expresses the pain of losing her son. Sukran is very empathetic. Sukran says she wishes Sultana had given her Miran years ago when she came for him. Sultana reminds her that Azize would have never let her see Gonul again and she could not help her.
Yes, the last time I saw Miran was with your help, says Sukran. I know you couldn’t do more back then, but now I am asking for your help. Help me show Miran the truth about how his mother was treated here. You are witness to what happened. Aunt Thanksgiving (the Turkish to English translation of Sukran), I cannot help you. I won’t stop you, but I cannot help you, says Sultana, crying and kissing Sukran’s hand. Sukran shakes her head acknowledging that she understands, as she kisses Sultana on the hand.
Reyyan awakes from her nap, in Miran’s arms. She looks at Miran and whispers his name. Miran, are you awake? With his eyes still closed, he says, I am sleeping. They both giggle. See, says Reyyan, we can still laugh regardless of what is going on and the sun came up for another day. Getting serious again, Miran says, why are we holding off living our lives as husband and wife? All this time we have fires all around us, it is time to live our life. What if we just have one day to live? What would that be like? Come on, he says, lets get changed and go. She protests a bit saying that leaving his grandmother alone with HAG is not a great idea. He says that no one would dare hurt Grannie Sukran.
All changed and ready for the rest of the day, ReyMir run directly into HAG as they exit the bedroom. No words of greeting are exchanged as ReyMir walk down the stairs with HAG scowling down at the happy couple. In the courtyard, more scowling from Gonul and Sultana who are sitting in their normal places, doing nothing. Miran calls out for Grannie Thanksgiving, she comes out of her room. He asks if everything is well and she is comfortable in her room? Yes, my grandson, she says, my life is blessed now that I have seen you smiling. He tells her that they are heading out for the day, if she needs anything, ask Esma and then looking pointedly at HAG and the Vipers, he says and if she needs him, Esma will call him. He will be back immediately.
Sukran is strong in her response that she will be fine. Go and have a wonderful time my grandson. She blesses them as they walk happily out of the konak. Gonul has some smart-ass comment about everything being a mess but Reyyan is too busy seducing Miran. Sultana says, it is hard to see who is seducing who. (Get over it already Gonul and get a job while you are at it!).
In the alleyways of Midyat, ReyMir walk closely together. Reyyan stubbles on a rock. Both remember the courtship/Miran is a liar rock by the river where he promised to always walk side by side with her. He grabs this rock saying, I will keep my promise and tosses it up on a rooftop, knocking down some water jugs and other things from a home. Like two kids, they scamper away so as not to be caught.

Gran Final: Primera Temporada
Part 4 of Almost 5
(This scene was cut from the Telemundo episode) Smiling and laughing, Reyyan asks, so where are we going? I don’t know, says Miran, I just want to walk the streets of Midyat, holding your hand and maybe do some shopping, as they come upon a street vendor selling tangerines. He purchases a bag and promptly stuffs the tangerines in Reyyan’s pockets and his pockets, then bites into one to peel it and share it playfully with Reyyan.
She seems rather embarrassed by his public display of affection but goes along with it. This recapper is happy to see Mr. Mopey/Meltdown enjoying the little things in life and having fun.
On a busier street, ReyMir continue walking. Miran stops and romantically walks Reyyan backward, pinning her against a wall, asking, have you ever watched the sunset over the plains? Yes, she responds. Well, have you ever watched the sunset over the plains with me telling you how much I love you? No, she flirts back. I have never watched the sunset with your eyes and my eyes filled with love and my arms around you. Well, what are we waiting for? They head off down the street.
Cut to the Sadoglu konak where the engagement ring party is in full swing. Harun’s elder sisters are all eating pastries and drinking coffee as the men talk about business. Nasuh asks if they are comfortable at the hotel and he wishes they would have stayed with them. He also reminds Harun’s family that the hotel is half owned by the Sadoglu. The door to the sitting room opens, with adorable Gul, dressed in red, presenting la novia (or soon to be) Yaren, dressed in a matronly, light blue dress.
Harun is clearly taken aback by her beauty as she apologizes for being late and takes a seat next to him. The “adult” conversation continues regarding Midyat’s cold weather as Harun leans over and tells Yaren that when he was in America, he went to a 70’s event and saw a woman wearing the same dress as she is wearing tonight. (Ha! Ha!) She hisses, then go back to America.
(This scene was cut from the Telemundo episode) Harun then tells Nasuh that he would like Yaren to visit his home in Urfa as soon as possible so she can become adjusted there and he invites the who family to join them. No, says Yaren, that is impossible. Everyone looks at her in surprise. Well, she stutters, my uncle, he just had major surgery and shouldn’t travel. Hazar tells he not to worry about him. She continues to try to make up excuses but is saved by Nasuh saying that it is best to have all the wedding preparations done in Midyat. Harun continues to annoy Yaren by calling Handan “mommy” and then asking if that was okay to do so? Of course, says Handan, Yaren is my bride and now you are my son! Yaren glares at Handan.
Batting her eyes, one sister asks if Azat isn’t going to come to the ring ceremony? The other sister asks if Nasuh ever thinks of marrying again? Handan asks if the sisters have ever been married? No, they all say at once, no luck says one, not fortunate, says another, not in my destiny, says the third, verifying their spinsterhood. Handan changes the subject quickly to the henna ceremony.
The ever-charming Harun, leans over again to Yaren, saying through a fake smile, you were lucky with that decision from your GT. Let’s get this marriage done and by the way, I still need an accounting for the guy that was at the restaurant today. I haven’t forgotten.
The ring ceremony beings as Gul hold the tray and GT cuts the red ribbon hoping for a happy marriage and blessings to both families. Harun looks happy as he kisses and touches GT’s hand to his forehead. Yaren looks miserable and does the same, but GT doesn’t even meet her eyes. Well wishes all around to both families. The sisters regal Yaren with expensive but gaudy jewelry that make Hanife, Melike and Gul all laugh at the number of bangles she is given. It is very similar to what Handan wears.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza - Episode #87
Gran Final: Primera Temporada
Part Almost 5 of 5
The scene moves to a beautiful view of the Midyat valley at sunset. ReyMir are sitting on an overhang, hugging each other watching the scenic view. Miran says, may this day never end, I wish we could stay like this forever. The sun has set, says Reyyan, the day is over. You think so, he responds, you are my sun, your hair, your hands, your eyes. He kisses her forehead gently. (We see the beautiful butterfly hair pin that Reyyan lost years ago and he found and kept). The day is still bright for me, you are my everything. He kisses her neck and hugs her; they continue to watch the sunset. For the very first time, ReyMir look truly happy (This recapper is happy too) as the episode ends.
To Be Continued in 2022
I would like to thank the recapping team who encouraged me to watch and recap my first ever dizi. Juanita, novelera and dondi356, you are truly dedicated to this site and I am grateful for the warm welcome you gave me back in the Loli days and for the opportunity to continue the journey with Hercai. I look forward to 2022 and hope to continue on the recapping team for the second season of Hercai. Thank you to Nett for covering those lonely Wednesday’s when we need a fill in.
I have also enjoyed reading the comments from so many of you! It has been so much fun! Thank you all. I cannot promise that I won’t watch ahead before the next season, so if anyone is interested, we left off at 1:25 minutes into Turkish episode #27. Enjoy! 😊
MANY thanks, VVS, for your excellent recap of the gran final. Or rather, the not-so-gran final. This lackluster episode left me very disappointed. I realize that much of the plot had to be left for the second season, but surely they could have given us more of interest than they did. Alas, I was all too accurate when, on Saturday, I predicted about the gran final, "My guess is that ReyMir will be shown to be happy happy, with very little resolved." Yes, ReyMir are finally shown to be happy, but we've seen so much of this before, like the now rather tiresome "Withoug Reyyan, there's no Miran." Yawn.
To be honest, just about the only thing that held my interest were the scenes involving Yaren. First, her trying in vain to convince her mother than Harun is a psychopath, and Handan's amusing response that since Yaren is also a psychopath, they can produce a bunch of psychopath kiddies. (Of course, if Yaren weren't such a deceitful, meanspirited perra, I wouldn't find her predicament amusing.) I also enjoyed the scene where the families meet and apparently formalize the engagement. I'm really sorry Telemundo cut the related scene you describe in Part 4 of the recap. I'd have happily done without so much repetitious ReyMir happiness and instead watched the cut scenes involving Yaren. Thanks very much for including them!
BTW, I'm not convinced that "Harun is clearly taken aback by [Yaren's] beauty" when she enters the room. Having seen what a duplicitous person he is, I assume that he's just pretending to be impressed by her beauty. I simply don't trust what he says or how he acts in public. It's possible, I guess, that the writers may be playing with us, but at least for now I don't think so.
I had also hoped we'd learn a bit more about the plan that Elif and Azat seem to have agreed on. However, tonight's episode told us almost nothing we hadn't seen in the previous episode.
I thought about not posting this now and waiting until tomorrow morning, when I may not be feeling my disappointment about this episode so strongly. But I decided to go ahead and let it all hang out now. I just wish the gran final were more worthy of your extraordinary recap skills. Thanks VERY much for all the wonderful recaps you have provided!
Thank you VVS for an excellent end of first season recap! Thank you, also, for the added sense that we were not privvy to. Like Juanita, I’m disappointed with nothing, nada, not even one little thing being resolved. Of course, Reymir was a given, but they could’ve at least let us know what Azar and Elif were planning. Gosh! Throw a dog a bone Telemundo! Either way, the previews of season 2 revealed some things, and my biggest fear is that the bride slowly walking and disappearing in the water is Elif. I also won’t promise that I won’t continue this drama on my own, but I will wait at least a week before I make my decision. A little break won’t hurt, lol.
As for Yaren, she deserves whatever she gets, however she gets it. Time to serve her up a BIG dish of doo-doo for all her evil deeds, cause I don’t believe for a second that she is redeemable. The way I see it is that it’s between her and Azize who will be redeemed, and my money is on Azize. I say that because Azize is vengeful because she believes that she has been truly wronged, and I don’t think she has been. She just doesn’t know the complete truth and her journey to that truth, I think, will be as hard for her as it has been for Miran.
Yaren, otoh, is just a vicious, mean spirited sociopath. She knows what she does is wrong, but it doesn’t matter, she doesn’t care. Hurting others brings her a sick pleasure. She knows the difference between right and wrong and that her deeds are DEAD WRONG, but she chooses that path anyway. Firat dodged a bullet with that one, and I truly hope they have some magnificent woman lying in wait for him!
It’s been a blast VVS, Juanita, Novelera, dondi356, Nett, and all commenters on this dizi! I’ve really enjoyed you all!
Thank you, VVS, especially for including the scenes from the Turkish original.
The show took a break from the drama and spent some time on romance and comedy. If they had to take a break, this seems appropriate. ReyMir are happy, Yaren is in the process of getting her anvil.
Looking back, amazingly, nobody died so far. But there were many close calls. Reyyan almost killed herself twice: setting the cabin on fire and jumping from the bridge. She was close to being assassinated by her grandfather. She almost killed Miran when she shot him, but missed his heart by a few inches. Azize almost killed Miran and Reyyan in the drive-by shooting of their new house. Gonul almost killed Azat when she shot him. Gul almost died when hit by a stray bullet fired by a drunk Azat. Hazar barely survives the fall down stairs. So, everyone is still redeemable.
Thank you Juanita, carmella and Lucio for the early comments. I didn’t have very high expectations for the season ending. In fact, as I prepared the recap and reviewed the Turkish episode, I could not figure out where Telemundo was planning on ending. The last scene in the recap is actually in the middle of the Turkish episode, so I was guessing how they were going to snip and cut it into something relevant within the timeframe.
Like you Lucio, I didn’t have issue with some carefree ReyMir loving and humor with the engagement party. Thanks for the reminder of all the almost deaths that have occurred thus far!
Juanita, I totally agree that Yaren deserves no sympathy. I think she and Harun are probably perfect for each other.
carmella, Firat has dodge a bullet avoiding ending up with Yaren. I was also disappointed to not learn more about what Elif and Azat are planning. Is it too much to hope that the bride in the water is Yaren? My guess is that will be another dream sequence that was used by Telemundo to entice us to hang on for the next season. I have appreciated your great comments and hope to see you at a PBR event one day!
Thanks so much, VVS. You went out with a masterpiece of a recap. Your asides echoed my thoughts. I appreciate the cut scenes. Why does Telemundo cut things we need to see?
So they settled it not on a cliffhanger but on the calm before the storm. That was one heck of a second season preview. I hope it’s early 2022, or I might be tempted to peek. We’re not even half way through the Turkish eps yet. We needed to get to 34.
I agree with you Juanita, as cute and as welcome as the ReyMir scenes were, I was more interested in Yaren’s situation. I think that when Yaren entered, Harun immediately recognized it was game on. So he played along by being the charming Harun. Very curious to see how their game plays out in the second season. Harun wants an accounting for Firat. Watch out, Firat.
And I would have liked more of Elif and Azat, too.
carmella, it interests me that you think Azize might be redeemed. I can’t see it yet. She’s done so much damage to so many, even if she was operating on incomplete truth. But if she is Nasuh’s long lost love maybe it is so, especially if she is Hazar’s mother and Miran’s grandmother (another of our crockpot theories).
As for Yaren, I don’t think she can be redeemed, either. She’s a bad seed. Pick one: carcel, morgue or manicomio for her.
Lucio, “Looking back, amazingly, nobody died so far.” Maybe a little too early. But I’m sure it’s coming, and I bet it will be a shocker. That’s some list of close calls.
Thanks again to VVS and to Juanita, novelera and Nett for stellar recaps. I enjoyed reading everyone’s witty and insightful comments. And a shout out to the lurkers, too— come join us for the second season!
dondi356
It's interesting that the information regarding a second season for Hercai being in 2022 was not leaked on the internet before it was announced last night. I did a few searches and couldn't find anything. And there is no information that I can find about when the second season will start next year. Maybe Telemundo doesn't know and they will base that on the ratings of currently running and upcoming novellas.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what to watch between Hercai seasons? I thought there was another Turkish novella supposed to start this year - Pasion Prohibida or something like that ...
VVS, THIS WAS A LOVE FILLED EPI
I SIMPLY LOVE THE WAY THESES 2
LOVE EACH OTHER. AND TJE TJINGS HE SAYS TO HER, WOW.
Gunol is such a bitch. Reyyan dont have to seduce miran, she

Happy". Yeah but we know what's coming next according to the previews we saw last night.
And what's with all that gold the put on yaren? They tryin to chain her down. Good luck with that. And he bbn is a psycho just like her. Handan n cihan
Had everything to do with that.
She is their demon spawn from hell. She was grandpa's favorite
Lil princess he chose over Reyyan.
Good granny and bad granny. Tia Thanksgiving ain't worried about bad granny. Bu the waynes bad granny blaming the sadoglu

Ya know its kinda nice seeing Rey n mir talking Love and not actualy seeing them doing the deed. He describes what he love s about her and then when he gets to her chest he kind of looks and says he loves her heart, and he probly does but it ain't what hes talkin about.

Hes a gentleman.
Thanks to VVS & the recap team. And I hope we are all back together here in 2022.
Thank you Dondi,RgvChick, jaunita, novelera and anybody else I missed.
Thank you dondi356, Hugo and Nina for the comments and your perspective on the sort of finale.
dondi356, I really appreciated all your Turkish culture coaching that helped me better understand the differences between a dizi and a TN. This last episode was definitely the calm before the storm.
So glad you joined us on the Patio to comment Hugo. Recappers are lost without people commenting, so it works both ways! I think dondi356 mentioned a dizi that will air November 1st on UniMas. I also need to go back and read the title she mentioned.
Nina, I think you and I are the few who enjoyed the ReyMir love fest. I actually think Miran is romantic without having to actually rock the Kasbah. The only thing missing was the two galloping around the country side on their beautiful horses. I think we will see the clash of Good Grannie vs. Bad Grannie in the next season. Miran needed more good in his life for sure.
You’re very kind VVS.
Not that I disliked the ReyMir romantic moments, but this is an example of what I find frustrating about some dizis. A little less conversation, a little more action, and I don’t mean kisses on the forehead or hands.
OT upcoming dizi
The UniMas dizi coming on Nov 1 is the world famous “¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagül?”. It’s running daytime 9 -11a ET, so you might have to record and watch later. IMHO, if you like Turkish dizis, this is a must see. It was my first and I was immediately hooked! Would love to see a new group of viewers and commenters. I’ll be around.
dondi356
VVS, thank you for this excellent recap of the final episode of this season which ended on a whimper instead of a bang.
I thought the scenes between Sukran and Suktana were very interesting . That is the nicest I have ever seen Sultana behave toward anyone . she truly seems to care about her , and they evidently knew each other in the murky past.
Well, I wonder when we will get season 2. In the meantime , I am rewatching Fatmagul from the beginning and in order since I originally hopped all around the 160+ episodes ..middle, beginning, ending ....in a very haphazard way. I am also waiting impatiently for La Hija to return.
Sorry to be so late. Had to show up at the office today for our monthly staff meeting.
And...let me join the chorus of praise for all your fine recaps, VVS. It has been a real pleasure getting to "digitally" know you. I especially appreciate the effort you've put into including scenes Telemundo doesn't seem to think are necessary.
dondi, thanks for the Elvis tie-in. Yes, a little less conversation for ReyMir would be a good thing.
I actually did not like those "looking forward" scenes at the end, and I am doing my best to forget them. It reminded me of why I'm so glad we don't post previews here at Telemundo Central. I much prefer being surprised by what's coming next.
Yaren is pretty much "the kid who cried wolf". She's lied so much, schemed so much, that no one is believing her about Harun. Well, maybe all that gold they layered on Yaren means my crockpot theory about his family wanting to marry into the Sadoglus for money is not true. That was ominous about his asking about Firat. But then Firat is not exactly a pushover.
I guess I'm the Lone Ranger here and no Tonto in sight! I still think Yaren might be "scared straight" by the prospect of being abused by Harun. I don't want any woman, even Yaren, to be in an abusive relationship. Those female relatives of his are bizarre!
We saw a lot less nastiness from Sultana. I guess the reason she won't help Sukran is fear of the loony bin...or an early grave.
It's going to be hard to wait until 2022!
Susanlynn, it was great to have you join us on this side of the Patio! Your comments and turn of phrases always make me smile. Based on your and dondi356’s recommendation, I am going to figure out how to watch Fatmagul on UniMas. I know you really liked Embajador, so I hope that returns quickly to Univision.
novelera, I have also enjoyed getting to know you via this “new” platform for me. I wish I hadn’t watched the 2022 Second Season preview either. I think there was too much given away, I also prefer the surprise factor. I hope I can wait to 2022 and not watch ahead. I appreciate you and Juanita keeping us motivated regardless of what Telemundo throws our way.
Anyone watch this? I tried, but kept getting interruptions. I heard a lot of English. There were a quite a few familiar faces. Several fugitives from various narco novelas I’ve watched. Didn’t think it was anything special, but I’ll watch for a while and decide. I’d hate to see the Telemundo page go silent.

I watched it. I like Michel Duval and I was curious I agree it didn't seem immediately catching but I will keep watching it.
dondi356, I am glad you asked about this. I missed the first few minutes of Parientes, but I saw most of it. I had really disliked what I saw in the tiny previews Telemundo kept showing, but the actual episode was better than I expected. As you say, it's nothing special, but it held my interest. I recall enjoying Guy Ecker in the past, and I was impressed with Bárbara de Regil, whom I hadn't heard of. I think I will watch a few more episodes and then decide whether to continue. I will not do recaps, but I will post comments if others do so as well.
Thx VVS for the recap. While I try to pitch in when possible..the rest you guys are so much better and I always appreciate the asides and Turk versions.
Add me to the list of folks disappointed at the 2022 previews....While we still don't know exactly how it will unfold....I felt they gave too much away given how long we have to wait. I am however glad to know there will be a 2nd season. I'm not able to add or get english CCs with anything I watch on youtube via the fire stick and I do want to know how this one unfolds.
Regarding Yaren.....never want to see anyone abused but for most of this show....felt like she needed a good beatdown. She got a few parental slaps but nothing nowhere near what she deserves. I do believe she will find away out of this marriage though. Is she reformed...or will she be reformed....not buying it. Her reason for hating Reyan was so weak so it wouldn't take much for her to remain or return to her old ways.
I am not alone in thinking Sukran needs a body guard. Sultana warned her to leave but I'm thinking there's nowhere she's safe but right under Miran's watchful eye for now. At least he deter any obvious mischief regarding her safety. Hope she makes it thru to the end of the show.
Regarding other shows...I'm going to rewatch Fatmagul for the umptenth time. Great show. I am also watching Amor Prohibido. It's in the early stages but enjoying it so far. Heard so many good things about it so I plan to stick with it. Do we know when/if Hija del Embasador returns?
Nett
I also watched. I came away with a "meh". I considered doing a first epi recap, but needed to go back to my book. I need to finish Barack Obama's "A Promised Land" for book club and it's a long, but very well written book.
I agree with Juanita. It was better than the previews, which I mostly skipped over, showed.
Has anyone ever seen Chantal Andere as anything but a "begins with a b"? I guess they must have sent her out to pasture from Telerisa as they have so many stars from past novelas.
I was thinking: "Sigh. They went with another singing protagonist, like Café con Aroma de Mujer."
They layered on the contrast pretty thickly between the cold, uncaring family in Los Angeles and the warm, accepting one in San Miguel de Allende. Anyone been there? I was there and it is a beautiful town. But I preferred Zacatecas, also beautiful but with fewer tourists.
I also recognized Michel Duval, but I can't remember which novela I might have seen him in.
Another actor familiar to me is Salvador Zerboni, the really awful "Ratas" from La Reina del Sur. He's playing a loving uncle in this one, but there was a hint of something dark when some thugs came to call on him during a family dinner. Looked more like he might have a gambling problem rather than his also being a thug, but we'll see.
I'll watch for a while. But I'm intrigued by Fatmagul. The only problem is that I hate, hate hate, the afternoon two-hour novelas. I recently re-watched Alborada that way, FF>> through commercials, but it was STILL too much.
One thing that seems like it could be a problem is this: They drew such a picture of the loving family in San Miguel, including Toño Valdes, Chucho from Falsa Identidad, that I wonder how they'll have enough scenes when Carmen moves to Los Angeles.
Michel Duval has been in a few things but you most likely recognize him from Senior Acero he played Salvador Acero from the time he was very young and in every season except the first, I believe.
I didn’t mind the next season previews. Can’t be sure if anything was given away because very often previews are misleading. Fantasies, dream sequences… you never know. Anyway, I'll probably forget most of it by the time the show returns.

Looks like we are all on the fence about this one. I do like Guy Ecker. Last time I saw him was in ESDLC along with a few others who are now in this cast. Darcy, I saw Michel Duval in Señora Acero, too, and I thought he was good in that. I have to say I got the creeps when I saw “Ratas”, he was such a chilling character in LRDS, but thank goodness it seems a much nicer one here.

Nett, I’ll be watching Fatmagul for an umpteenth time, too. I keep checking for updates on the return of Embajador. A lot of Engin fans are impatiently so Uni sends assurances every so often through social media that it’s coming back, but no date yet. There has been speculation it might return after Desalmada. I wonder if the Engin fans are the reason they are replaying Fatmagül again on UniMas.
BTW, there is another new dizi starting next week in Turkey, Misafir (Guest or Visitor). It stars Buğra Gulsoy (Demir in Todo por mi Hija) with Beren Gençalp (Melek in Embajador) and Bülent Şakrak (Kahraman in Embajador). Hazal Kaya is the female lead. I’m going to check it out. It seems like the type of show that could make it to the Latin American market.
dondi356
Nett, I agree with you that Sukran needs a bodyguard. I don’t trust Azize. I was actually surprised she let her live all this time. I guess HAG feels that powerful over Miran and never thought he would venture outside the lines and actually find his grandmother.
Glad to see some comments today, I was having Hercai withdrawals.
Pari
I didn’t watch this TN, it has nothing appealing to me at all. Sounds like those who did watch weren’t overly impressed.
Dizi
Thanks again dondi356 for the dizi recommendations. If some of you are going to rewatch Fatmagul, it will be fun to share comments and keep me going until 2022.
Miss it already.......sigh........
Re: Fatmagul, a co worker of mine has been raving about it for years! I think she watches it every time it comes on, lol! I’m sure I will partake at some point.....English subs anywhere?????
I liked the look on the Doc's face when he saw Leticia. He knew immediately Robert was in trouble 🤣🤣
I got the impression Robert could be faking his injury to get rid of dear Lety but maybe not.
The son falls for the dad's girl not knowing she is dad's girl.....yawn.
That was the most interesting marriage proposal I've seen in a while.
Thanks, Darcy for your thoughts. I'm sticking with Parientes for a while. But, if I get hooked on Fatmagul, something will probably have to give. 3 hours of telenovelas/dizis are not going to work. Especially since I still have all of Malverde recorded with thoughts of maybe liking that one.
So...this one is full of exaggerated broad comedy. Carmen's character was terrific in Mexico, but the minute she arrived in L.A. she began to behave a bit like a character in The Beverly Hillbillies (anyone remember that turkey?). Her speech became full of mexicanismos and they way overdid her reaction to George's house.
It's not completely clear to me what Juancho was involved with, other than cockfighting. Not sure why he owes some top criminal money, but he does. And this is why he wanted to decamp for Los Angeles. I suppose they've come to stay. We did get some good views of Salvador Zerboni's results in the gym. I admired that six-pack.
I am still a bit confused about the parentage. The term hijastro was bandied about. For a minute I thought Leticia was George's third wife and that Andy was also a step-son. But last night showed that Andy's mother died and he is George's bio son.
And...I assume the two awful brats Leticia spawned are also George's children. It's a bit farfetched to believe George had absolutely no input into their upbringing. I suppose they could be hers from a previous marriage, but they haven't shown that to be the case.
And, IIRC, Tania, George's business manager, was expecting to be Wife #3 until Carmen appeared on the scene. And that this is why Tania is trying so hard to scuttle her.
I'm not all that disapointed in the previews. You never know what's coming wit hth these previews as for that bride in the water, I doubt that's reyon
But in that other scene when someone is pulling her out of the water, well that could be something AZIZE plotted. I can not stand that mean bitchgranny
Ok who is in Charge of the shoes in Wardrove? Why do t jyn e women get to wear those big
Bogram boots? The dresses are nice but then you look down at those feet in those boots are like big in floppy, the guys shoes look way better. Are they
Tryin to keep the women not sexy. They wont let miran kiss
Reyyan on the lips, he always goes for the nose or cheek.
Those guys that watch out for
obscene behavior is on the job
Good for them.
Ok onward and upward patio
Because of the outpouring of interest here for the highly acclaimed Turkish dizi “¿Que Culpa Tiene Fatmagül?”, novelera and I have decided that discussion of this work can take place here on the Telemundo y Más pages. We feel it's a legitimate decision, since the dizi was originally broadcast on Telemundo in 2016. This time around, it will be shown on UniMas beginning this coming Monday, November 1, from 9-11 AM (Eastern Time). A good reason to have a DVR!
This doesn't replace either of the other two offerings currently available: Parientes a la fuerza and Malverde: El santo patrón. Clearly, there's no time conflict among these three works.
When Fatmagül was discussed here in 2016, the label people put at the top of their comments was "fatma." I have used it in this message. If I find there's a problem in using the same label now, I'll let everyone know.
I know I’m wayyyyy late but wanted to be sure to thank all of the Recappers for HERCAI! You are so appreciated! Thank you!
The final for this season was just - like a good/bad dream sequence by one of the characters. When you wake from one good dream and then enter a bad one. Yaren IS a mess IN a mess. Under Harun’s “training” she may return next season as an even worse ogre! We can’t be thru with her yet. And I’m afraid I agree with some of the others that ReyMir need a little more “closeness” in their relationship.
Anyway , it has been fun and I will miss “meeting” with you all on the patio but hope to be back for the drama next season!
SaraAnne
HERCAI
I AGREE SaraANNE. They could use some closeness, they are married after all. It dont have to be all out sex, a really good kiss would suffice. And let Gunol(miss bitch much)see
it. They are suppose to come back next year I do hope it's in January.
Ok well thanks to all the nice recappers and fun commenters yall have a safe and happy holiday season.
