It is a very cheezy novela, albeit with a good mystery at bottom.
It is also an excellent novela for learning Spanish. The "Televisa-speech" (slow & distinct) helps a lot as well as the incredibly repetitive dialogue.
But each time I see it, I hate Estrella and Héctor more and more and more. They really don't deserve to be loved. They treat María with contempt but, even worse, they jump to the most outrageous, vicious conclusions at the drop of a hat.
And there are times when I wonder if Esteban is truly an adult, given the way he has let his Aunt control his life.
