Hercai 2 - #67 – Parte 1 de 3

We begin at the same place we left off last night with Fusun having her hand on her dead son and looking lethal. [I gotta say this is the first time she’s given a rat’s patootie about him.]

Cihan tells Fusun that Harun had a gun in his hand. It was suicide. One of Fusun’s guys tells her that they’ll investigate. Fusun asks Cihan how he found out about it. He replies that Yaren told him because “they” told her first as his wife. Fusun wants to bring him home for his last night. [I am wondering if the one night is because muslims, I believe, bury their dead 24 hours after death.]

Dilsah freaks out in the car with ReyMir. Reyyan takes her to some sort of well and comforts her, giving her water to drink from her own hands. Dilsah seems to be trusting Reyyan more than MEran, who is staying in the background feeling sorry for himself. Dilsah asks Reyyan who she is, and Reyyan replies that she’s her daughter-in-law and somehow this works, probably because Reyyan isn’t sobbing and puffing out her cheeks.

Dilsah asks Miran if he’s the baby she gave birth to. She says he’s grown a lot. “Who dried your tears? Who stayed by your bedside when you were sick? Who picked you up when you fell down?” Then SHE feels guilty. [Boy this dizis love some guilt, don’t they?] He embraces her. He asks if there is anything he could do to relieve her suffering. Dilsah: “Mi hija. Could you bring her here?”

Handan brings Yaren to Casa Aslanbey instead of to Casa Sadoglu. Handan goes on the attack telling Gonul and Esma that they made Harun so miserable that he offed himself. She lays it on thick about how Harun called her mama. [Yaren looks like she’s auditioning for a role in a zombie movie and then faints.] Handan gets her out of sight quickly when she notices blood on Yaren’s wrist.

Handan tells her devil’s spawn that she has to buck up and maintain or else they can’t protect her.

Gonul does what she does best, dissolve in tears and hysteria, saying Harun was like a brother to her. [When? I don’t remember this.] Gonul calls Firat with the news of the death.

Azize takes out a box with a brooch in it and remembers, in a flashback, scolding Miran for cutting school. She slaps him. Then he gives her a Mother’s Day gift of un prendedor de libélula (dragonfly brooch). He tells her they don’t ever die and he doesn’t want her ever to die. Back in the present she beats herself up with this memory and pins on the brooch.

Reyyan has brought Dilsah home and Hazar rushes to greet them in the courtyard. Sukran comes out to embrace her daughter while Zehra looks on. [We get a WHOLE LOT of Zehra snooping around and looking resentful in this episode.] Zehra offers to help Dilsah to her room and Dilsah shrinks away from her. Hazar looks stern. But Dilsah submits to having Zehra take her up.

Azat comes to tell Reyyan and Nasuh that Harun was shot.

Hercai 2 - #67 – Parte 2 de 3

Miran has gone to ask Azize: “Who’s Azra?” Flashback to Azize bringing a baby girl to Dilsah, presumably in the place she’s stashed her all this time. Azize says that she lost a son, but she’s brought her a daughter. Azize tells Miran that she was Dilsah’s adopted daughter. She brought her from an orphanage for Dilsah.

Miran: “Where is Azra?” Azize tells Miran that Azra should not be brought here yet. He and Dilsah need to become close first. Miran snarls at her that it doesn’t matter what she says; he'll happily give his mother her daughter. Azize begs Miran to give her a chance to become Ayse again. But, of course, he is totally cruel. He thanks God her blood doesn’t run through his veins. [Well, yeah, it actually does, Miran.]

Nasuh calls Azize to say that Harun has died. He seems to sense this is a danger for her.

Hazar comes to see Dilsah. Unlike his offspring, he knocks before opening the door. [But he doesn’t listen to me when I tell him to close the door. He leaves it ajar.] He asks her not to cry. “You weren’t here when Miran grew up. It wasn’t your fault. I met my son many years later. I want to be the mountain he leans on, and you are his mother. From the time I met Miran he only spoke of his mother. We saw each other at your tomb. He hated me because Azize told him I killed her. Now we can be there for him.” [Zehra has heard most of this and is wincing.] Miran asks Dilsah to give Miran back his mother.

Fusun comes to the Aslanbey konak, bringing Harun in a casket. Cold as ice she tells the roaches not to cry. “But the one who did this should be crying.” She says that her only son died from more than one bullet. [Brilliant plan, Cihan; as always you’ve made things worse.] She throws 3 bullets on the table where the casket rests. [Yaren looks like she’s just peed herself.] Fusun: “Dying is easy; that person will first lose their loved ones.” [Well…considering that means Cihan and Handan, I’m fine with it.]

Fusun then begins to grill Yaren. “Who told you about this? When did you see him last?” Yaren lies pretty well; she’s had a lot of practice. She tells Fusun Harun was in the hotel unhappy and said it was about his mother. He left to get air and then the police called. Fusun gives her a Gorgon stare. “He said things were bad between us and he killed himself?” Yaren begins to panic and Cihan intervenes. Fusun looks at him as if he’s a bug on the floor and says she has a right to ask. Her son is dead and Yaren is only a widow. Fusun turns to Asiye and asks her to send men to find the tela de sudario (shroud). Harun will stay with her tonight.

Reyyan is with Zehra and asks her mother what’s wrong. Zehra says that the baby le mantuvo en vela anoche (kept her up all night). Reyyan replies that she knows her mother well and knows her thoughts and fears. “Papá loves you very much. Dilsah is only the mother of his son.“

Hercai 2 - #67 – Parte 3 de 3

Miran comes into the kitchen where Zehra and Reyyan have been talking and takes Reyyan with him. [He’s doing the same old, same old, dragging her to see something.] He tells her he has a surprise for her. And he asks Dilsah to come with him as well. He takes them up to the roof so they can almost be blown off by some wind. Looking smug he tells the two of them to look at the mansion next door. It’s his. Reyyan already knows this. It’s empty, but he’ll make it full of love. “Dilsah, Reyyan, Sukran, and Dilsah’s grandson, when he’s born, will live there together.”

Reyyan embraces him, but Dilsah says she can’t live in the same house with him. [Of course Zehra has sneaked up there and pouts when she hears this.] He tells his mother he’s going to bring Azra to her. [Miran, Miran, you should have kept your mouth shut until you found her!] Dilsah can’t quite believe it. Mr. All About Me says HE’S going to return her daughter to her, but he wants Dilsah to return his mother to him. {Zehra sulks off, and I’m wondering if she’s worried about Dilsah next door.]

Hazar comes into their bedroom because he left his phone there. Zehra pretends to be cheerful, but Hazar isn’t over what she did to Dilsah yet and just walks out after asking if the baby is asleep.

At least Miran asks Reyyan if she’s mad at him for announcing this big move without consulting him. Of course Reyyan lets him off the hook. He also halfway apologizes for saying he’d bring Azra, also without asking her. When he thinks she looks troubled, she tells him about Harun’s death.

At the Aslanbey konak everyone is draped in black and with hijabs. A woman chants something (in Arabic?) Azat has brought some food and expresses his condolences from the Sadoglu family.

Firat and Esma are both worried. Esma says that it’s not a good sign when Fusun is so calm. Firat: “She thinks it was Azize. I have to talk with Miran. He says that Miran is Azize’s grandson. He can’t let anything happen to her."

HA! Cihan and Firat pass each other and Cihan’s toupee partially comes off the crown of his head. Handan is really scared Fusun will find out and begs Cihan to get them out of this mess. Cihan calls someone. “Did you do what I asked?” [It’s probably that flunky that burned down the house who’s coming up with a way to blame Harun’s death on Azize.]

PASION #9 Part 1/2

At Bar Alcala Rosario convinces JD to have a drink. Then Gunther convinces him to have another one, and then another one…. JD tries to leave rather unconvincingly, mentions taking care of his brothers (who are more than happy to take care of themselves while they party), but Rosario won’t let him go.
When he ends up passed out, Gunther and another guy take him to Rosario’s bedroom. His Royal Creepiness (aka Gunther) has thought of everything, since the room is filled with rose petals. He leaves an unconscious JD on the bed, and Rosario walks in and sit next to him. I’m watching carefully, wondering if the show will dare to go there, and it kind of does. Rosario takes off JD’s shirt and smells his biceps for a while, then pours herself a glass of wine and stares at him. Eventually JD wakes up and makes several attempts to leave, but he’s not feeling great (he probably had something in his drinks, too). Besides, Rosario’s charms are kind of hard to resist. She throws herself at him like only she knows how and he eventually gives in: they fall together on the bed and start kissing. Fade to black. Have we been spared of the rest? Hardly!

At the same time Andres is looking for his cousin, but the twins say he must have gone home already. But they must suspect that he’s with Rosario, because that’s where they saw him last.

Another one who is worried is Juan. Tossing and turning in his bed, his concern is directed at the twins, but Norma has the perfect argument to calm him: the boys are with JD, he will take good care of them. Yeah, right!

When Erick and Leon arrive home at dawn they are greeted by a worried Juan, who wants to know why they arrived so late (or so early?). The twins brush him off, they were partying, what’s the problem? Juan asks about JD, the twins are surprised he hasn’t gotten home, but smile mischievously, as they realize where their big brother must have spent the night.

JD wakes up still feeling dizzy and leaves the bar, with Gunther watching him go. I’ll never doubt Gunther again, when the man says he will deliver, that he does.
He goes to Rosario’s room and she’s still naked under the sheets, but the morning after talk with Gunther doesn’t seem to be anything new for these two. Rosario is beyond happy, I guess the night went well!
JD doesn’t look all that content, as he’s driving back home. He keeps flashing back to the night before – for those who were upset we didn’t get to see the whole love making. And we get a few more glimpses of it while JD is in the shower later and when Rosario reminisces, too. I bet you know wished we saw the whole thing for once, not spread throughout an entire episode (or more!!)

PASION #9, Part2/2

The madrina chastises Romina for letting Duval go to school on his bike – it could be dangerous. Romina rightly points out that she was the one to send him to Oscar’s in the middle of the night. The madrina asks Romina to trust her, be patient, and think about the long term gains she can have, but Romina is not too willing.

Sarita is called at her mother’s who’s in a panic because Don Martin fell and broke an arm, or a shoulder, or something – I didn’t get the whole thing because of the whole hysteria being involved.
Gaby is at school and needs… a ride of course. She decides to call her mother, but she’s busy with the Abuelo. Gaby then calls Nino, but he’s busy being arrested for a burglary. Yeah! So Gaby decides to walk to Jimena and Oscar’s boutique, but the creepy guy in the car follows her this time, too. He asks her to join him, she gets very scared, but is saved by two cops who happen to pass by. I should also mention that this happens in broad daylight and other people are seen on the street. The cops don’t get the car license number, nor does Gaby.

JD is working with the horses when Juan arrives to asks him what happened last night. JD gets defensive, why all the questioning, but Juan says he’d never do that, he trusts him completely. They are interrupted by Norma, bringing news about Don Martin.

Gaby arrives at the boutique just as Jimena is on the phone with her mother, trying to calm her, by saying the Abuelo has accidents all the time, but he will be OK, he’s just very old, it’s normal this would happen.
Oscar is surprised that Gaby would come to the boutique to ask for a ride home, sometimes she’s so independent she makes him proud, but other times she acts like a child. Gaby decides to share with Jimena why she is so scared: some guy has been following her for a while, even today he asked her to get in his car. Jimena is rightfully horrified, gives Gaby a ride home and tries to find out more details. Gaby explains she didn’t want to worry Andres because he’s very busy with his new job, Jimena reassures her that they are all here to help and protect her. And she will personally take care of this.

Rosario, who has been daydreaming about her night of passion all day, so much so that she hasn’t even been able to rehearse with the rest of the dancers, tells Panchita that she’s incredibly happy, like she’s never been before. JD must be some kind of lover to make her feel this way, right? I’m asking for a friend (you know who you are, Darcy!)
Panchita is happy that Rosario was able to get her wish, but Rosario warns her this is not a whim, she’s very serious about JD – she sees a future for them, a bright future. He will probably call her soon (he doesn’t) and he will definitely be at the bar at night (remains to be seen).

At night Norma is so worried about her Abuelo she can’t even eat. Juan takes her to bed, leaving the boys to talk about last night. The twins want to find out what happened with JD. He tries to lie, he was just having fun, but his brothers know better. They push so much, even go as far as to start talking dirty, suggesting that JD must have taken Rosario to bed. This upsets him so much that he actually punches one of his brothers (don’t remember which, I still have a hard time telling them apart).
At the same time Rosario is at the bar, singing… waiting.

Thanks so much for the recap novelera! I was interrupted multiple times last night and only got bits and pieces on some parts. You bring up some good points too. Both Fusun and Gonul’s “affection” for Harun COMPLETELY missed me too! Like “WHEN” was Harun like a brother to you Gonul????? And, equally, Fusun has showed him nothing but her distaste——strongly—— for marrying Yaren (well she does have a point there) and for being in cohoots with Aslan. She has , not once, demonstrated any motherly emotions or feelings toward her only son, and again, only went to see his dead body AFTER trying to exact some revenge first. Thanks Mom!

Then there’s Handan! I just want to squeeze her face till her lying tongue pops right outta her head! She lies—-knowingly—- then rubs it in by lying some more! She really has no shame along with secret service Cihan! Like really! Where has he acquired his knowledge about changing the scene of the crime and coverups!?! Was he some covert, elite operative at one time or something???? Plus his connections? Just doesn't add up to simply being a businessman……

Miran’s another one who I just want to stick a pin into—— on top of all the holes he’s gotten already, lol! Your colander still comes to mind novelera! LOL! When he puffs up his cheeks and blows out that dragon breath of his, I just roll my eyes! Again, we already know you hate Azize! We already know the heinous wrongs that she’s committed on everyone. If you can’t stand her presence, pick up your cellphone DUMBASS! But the histrionics have got to go! I swear, all this emotional overage is draining as all get out!!!
Truth be told, he needs to see Azize’s face. It’s all he’s known besides the early years with his mom…..

Sorry I missed the toupee part! Hahaha! But the truth will come out and it’ll probably be from Yaren’s own lips. She’s a powder keg and clearly can’t handle this!

Thanks again novelera!

Pasion

Thank you Adriana! Clear, concise and to the point recap! Much, much appreciated!

Okay, so I’m shouting from the rafters………
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWYUCKKKKKKKKKKEYPOOOOOOOOOOEY!!!!
Watching Rosario all over the inebriated young JD made me want to HURL! If I had an ounce of respect for her before, it’s gone! Then she gushes and blushes and fawns over how AMAZING she feels after her night of unforgettable passion! Like that was between you and JD, and you couldn’t wait to tell your BFF’s like a schoolgirl who just lost her virginity! Unfortunately I think JD is “temporarily “ under your spell too, but did have the wherewithal to go home and scrub his body down! No matter how good it may have been to him, he is troubled by it! Some attractions and fantasies are best left in the mind! If this affair lasts the way Rosario wants it too, I’ll just have to eat my shoe! I see “obsession “ coming——-so says my crystal ball……

I’m glad Gaby revealed to Jimena what’s going on with the creepy guy. Hopefully Gaby has some of her mother in her, cause Sarita was a fiery, kick ass kinda girl——at least I remember her that way, lol. Gaby also really needs to drive herself around. It makes her vulnerable that she has to depend on others to get to and fro.

And what’s up with Norma? I don’t understand her character at all? I really don’t. She’s coming off, imo, so wishy washy so far. Her character needs to be more defined. Or maybe I’m just trippin a little, lol.

Thanks again Adriana!

Novelera..

YOU BROUGHT THE ESSENCE....this episode...is very important..!!
you did the recapp..let me get some coffee and organize my husband and I am gonna 'HOLLA-BACK-AT-YA'...

Hercai

Novelera, thanks for a terrific recap of this episode of the carousel of misery and revenge that we are on. UFF

Gee whiz...we now discover that Azz brought a baby girl to Dilsah after she took Miran away from her and told her he had died. QTH??? So now the quest for the missing adopted daughter ????

So Harun is definitely dead dead and not Miran\Azat type dead. Ciran should have found that old witchy woman who brougHt Miran back to cry and pout another day.

Gonul is all torn up over Harun whom she says was like a brother to her . Wait? What ! I can't remember any scenes of the 2 of them together . I mostly remember Firat interacting with Harun when he thought that he was a threat to Yaren.

Zehra manages to skulk and lurk at every doorway. I have noticed that she looks prettier than before she disappeared to visit her mother .

Pasion

I don't normally comment here but after yesterday's episode all I can think is how disgusting Rosario has turned out to be. She practically raped this boy...Muriel better come now and give her mother a run for her money. This is clearly going to be a sick obsession and I'm not here for it...Norma better get those dainty hands ready to slap the hell out of Rosario for daring to touch her son.

Idk what Romina and her witchy godmother are planning but one thing I know is even if Jimena separates from Oscar he is never going to replace her with Romina, never!!! something also tells me Duval may not be Oscar's son...DNA tests can be falsified after all.
Franco please come and save your family especially that sweet hunk of a son Andres....I don't want Rosario's stain on him either...he's too sweet of a guy

PASION

Maame, I believe you're right about Rosario getting obsessed. JD might give in for now but we can see him struggling already. As soon as his hormones settle, he'll see things differently.
I think we can all agree that we're waiting for Franco to come back home asap. Right now I only care about him, which doesn't say much about my interest for the rest of these people.

Happy that you commented. Maybe you decide to do it again, every opinion is welcomed!

Pasion

Could not have said it any better MaameAdwoa!!

Pasion

Adriana, thank you! What a disturbing episode to recap! And you captured it well. Like Carmella said 'Clear, concise, and to the point'!

I agree with MaameAdwoa, 100%. That went from an amusing flirtation to something very disturbing very fast!! Why did she feel she had to resort to alcohol and drugs and pressure him? He's clearly attracted to her, is she really that impatient? We don't use the word rape much to refer to men but that was pretty much the text book definition. She piled him with alcohol, drugged him (Gunter drugged him but even though she didn't necessarily know at first it was obvious he was drugged later), dragged him to her room, undressed and touched him when he was unconscious, and then pressured him to stay several times when he said he wanted to leave! He even said the words, 'I don't want to be here!' that was awful. No matter what attraction, lust, curiosity whatever he may have, he wasn't ready to act on it and she forced the matter. Even if he did eventually give in and go along, he doesn't feel good about it. And delusional Rosario talking about how special and romantic it was the next day?? Um, no. That's not romance.

'JD must be some kind of lover to make her feel this way, right? I’m asking for a friend (you know who you are, Darcy!)' LOL!! That's hilarious, but no, not under those circumstances! If ever I encountered a man drugged, drunk and passed out I'd leave him the hell alone cuz I am not a criminal.

It was Leon that JD hit and Erik holding him back, which was a change. Man he looked pissed in that scene, and I had to wonder if he was upset at his brother, or upset that what happened, happened.

I want to know who the heck this joker following Gaby around is.

Norma is off to me too. One thing I noticed with this episode is even though we've been told that she has cooled off towards Juan and she rejected him the night before her hands were all over him trying to convince him to go to bed. Made me think of the other nights like when he wouldn't go to bed after the slap and she just sat down in his lap and started making out with him. Is she hot or cold? What are they doing with this character? Wishy-washy is a good description. They need to give this more dimension.

The actress who plays Jimena looks so young - practically the same. All the ladies aged well but she especially looks ageless.

Jacky Pokolo, you asked yesterday who was the oldest. Norma is the oldest sister, Jimena is the youngest and Sarita is the middle child. With the boys, Juan is oldest, Oscar is in the middle and Franco is the youngest.

Pasion

Definitely sitting at the eagerly awaiting Franco's arrival on the Patio!!! :)

Many thanks, novelera, for this superb recap, complete with some Spanish and lots of wonderful snark. I especially enjoyed "[Yaren looks like she’s auditioning for a role in a zombie movie and then faints.]" YES!!

Like others, I was dismayed at several aspects of this episode. I agree with you about Fusun's sudden expression of love for Harun. In all their previous interactions, she has seemed indifferent at best. And ditto about Gonul's odd claim that Harun was like a brother to her. Huh? Has she confused Harun with Firat? Has she banished from her memory how her real brother, Aslan, pretty much ignored her?

And then, of course, there's Dilsah's wish to see "mi hija," Azra. [Thanks, Halimacandy, for translating Azra's name.] Why in the world are they introducing a new character, or at least a new character search, at this point in the dizi? There are plenty of things that need resolution--the last thing we need is another new character to extend this already overlong plot.

I too noticed that Hazar failed to close the door when he came to see Dilsah. I suspected that perhaps he did that out of consideration for her fragile state of mind, not wanting her to feel uneasy with him in a closed room. It's true that the open door gave Zehra yet another opportunity to snoop and eavesdrop, and sure enough, she winced when Hazar told Dilsah that now he and she can be there for Miran. I suspect he meant nothing objectionable, but it serves Zehra right that she gets upset.

The scene in the Aslanbey konak when they are having what seems to be funeral rites for Harun interested me for several reasons. One was that Firat insists on preventing Miran from killing Azize, and apparently to do this he's going to tell Miran that yep, Azize's blood does run in his veins. In case that happens, I'd better turn the sound way down on my TV--I suspect we'll see a Me-ran explosion even greater than his many previous ones. Also, thanks for pointing out that Cihan's toupee came dislodged! When it happened, I simply assumed that the man was someone I didn't know, someone with a ponytail/manbun. I was then surprised when right after that, I saw Cihan, but it didn't occur to me that the stranger with the manbun was in fact Cihan. Duh. The other thing that interested me was how Cihan screwed up his attempt to make Harun's death look like a suicide. Yes, any number of TV programs show someone wiping off the gun so there are no telltale fingerprints, then putting the gun in the dead person's hand and firing it so the hand will have his fingerprints and gunpowder residue. But not-so-clever Cihan forgot to leave only one shell casing. (Fusun claimed there were three bullets, but I remember Cihan shooting only once, which would mean 2 shell casings. I don't know where the 3rd one came from.)

And yes, the episode ends with Cihan calling one of his evil flunkies to make sure he did what Cihan had asked. I wonder what brilliant scheme Cihan has cooked up, and whether it will be as flawed as his attempt to show that Harun killed himself. (Unless, of course, Cihan's leaving an extra shell casing was deliberate--a way to prove that Azize killed Harun and tried unsuccessfully to look like suicide.

Again, thanks VERY much, novelera. I loved your recap!

herc

Thanks for the kind words, all. I put down what they said, but I'm still a bit confused about the bullets. Juanita, shell casings make sense. When I watched the scene with Cihan putting the gun in Harun's hand to get fingerprints on it, I assumed he shot into the air. But from others' comments later I thought maybe he'd shot into Harun's dead body. Still not sure about that. Again, if it was about shell casings, there would have been 2. But any evidence of more than one bullet blows Cihan's suicide story sky high.

Thanks for a very entertaining recap, novelera! The asides were perfect!

Not so sure if Fusun cares more about losing Harun or about losing a revenge battle. And I also had no idea that Gonul gave a "rat’s patootie” about Harun.

Wanna bet that Azra is another stolen and/or hidden Aslanbey?

My take on those 3 bullets (and in the Turkish, Fusun said bullets): I think Fusun is blaming Azize for Harun’s death and she knows that Hazar and Miran are her son and grandson. She’s going after them. I’m sure Yaren, Cihan and Handan are worried those bullets will be for them. We’ll see.

I couldn’t believe Cihan’s toupee almost blew off! LOL! I had to look at that a couple of times. It really wasn’t lifted off the scalp, just some of the hair flew up.

carmella, I lol’d over your Handan “her lying tongue pops right outta her head!” and Miran’s “dragon breath”.

ITA, HalimaCandy: “***Writers ..YOU SUCK..!! for season 2..YOU WERE THE WORST.” I agree they could have given better explanations or flashbacks regarding character motivations. Instead, they give us endless Miran meltdowns. “I will bury this series along with Harun's Jannahza...prayers..” öyle olsun...so be it.

Really loved the recap, novelera! Thanks again.

Pasion
Season 2 Episode 10 – Part 1

Back to Leon asking Juan David in a very vulgar way exactly what happened between him and Rosario. Juan David decks Leon and he falls to the floor. Erik moves to hold JD back but Quintina runs in and begs them to stop fighting. They listen to her but as JD stalks out he warns his little brother that if he says something like that again he will forget that they are brothers! He tells the twins nothing happened and they need to learn to respect women!

Rosario is at the bar in her dressing room upset that JD isn’t there. Gunter takes advantage of the opportunity to harass her suggesting it’s pathetic for her to wait around for a little boy who isn’t interested in her, has she no dignity? She is too good to allow herself to be so desperate over that boy. Rosario believes it is too soon to conclude JD isn’t interested, just because he didn’t come back the very next day doesn’t mean he won’t.

Gaby is in Sarita’s room with her while Sara is drinking tea getting ready for bed. They talk about Don Martin’s accident and Jimena helping Gaby that night. Gaby thinks about the guy following her but doesn’t tell her mom. She finally agrees to let Sarita buy her a car which makes Sara very happy!

The next morning the boys are doing chores in the stables and the twins approach JD (Erik calls him ‘fosforito’ this time which I couldn’t find an official translation but a quick google query suggests it might be slang for quick tempered). They want to know if they can ask a question without being hit. JD says it depends. They ask about how to treat a sick horse. There’s tension but JD helps. Erik tells his brothers he doesn’t understand why he is so mad at them. They are brothers, why can’t they talk about stuff? Why can’t they ask about personal topics? JD says of course, you can talk to me about anything but there’s a difference between talking and making dirty inappropriate jokes! Erik claims JD thinks he is too dignified for them (I mean, yeah) and Leon says he probably just sees them as trash and murderers who killed the professor. This emotional blackmail works, and JD grabs his brother and pushes him up against a post. He says not even to joke about that. He believes completely in his brothers and he would give his life for them. He swears that he is going to find out who really killed that professor. (I wonder what his plan is, because the whole not looking at all thing he’s been doing so far probably isn’t going to produce results) Erik and Leon look more uncomfortable and nervous about the idea than they look relieved by JD’s declaration of support.

Jimena and Sara are out for a horseback ride and there’s at least one reasonable member of the family because Jimena is telling Sarita exactly what happened with Gaby and the stalker instead of keeping it a secret from mom the way Oscar did with Juan and the twins. Jimena and Sara agree that they have to do something to stop this because stalkers don’t just back off on their own. Gaby needs to report the guy to the police. They talk about how overwhelmed Sara is, first with grandpa’s accident and now this thing with Gaby. Like the day before with Norma, Sara points out the house on the edge of the property to Jimena. Jimena confirms it is her and Oscar’s property and Sara says someone is living in that house. It needs to be checked out.

Season 2 Episode 10 Part 2

Norma and Juan are visiting Don Martin in the hospital and he declares he feels like he has three bulldozers on him, three! Juan laughs at his exaggeration and says he’s as strong as an ox. The doctor wants to keep him for a few days though he agrees Don Martin is in good health. He also complains that he needs his ‘wife’ Dominga. The doctor looks confused and Norma says it’s his maid. Don Martin thinks Dominga is the next best thing to a wife. Norma offers to spend the night in the hospital with grandpa since Gabriela can’t, Don Martin says Norma should be home with her husband and kids but Juan says to let Norma stay and spoil him a little because they all care about him a lot.

Jimena is talking to Oscar about the house Sarita brought up and Oscar does the hard sell to get Jimena to concentrate on something else. Their businesses, the problems with Gaby, grandpa’s fall, anything else at all other than worrying about that casa! (Uh huh) Jimena wonders if that’s where the little boy lives? You know the one who lost his dog…(I’m thinking yes)

Juan looks kind of creepy walking up to Felix at the bar…that all black slow walk with the jacket slung over his shoulder was an odd look. They talk calmly enough with Juan even half-smiling but there is a vibe there. I noted that Felix called him ‘Juan Reyes’ and not ‘Don Juan or Senor Reyes’ like you would expect. Juan wants to ask about Adela and he also asks what we are all wondering, which is if your father was such a disgusting human being why are you so determined to get justice for him? Juan says he wasn’t your father he was your torturer. Felix says call him what you want, he was still my dad! He also insists he has no idea where his sister is and he wishes he did because he is worried something happened to her. Felix does reveal that when Adela was around she spoke very little, he has no idea how she felt about the circumstances they lived in or her father. He says she was very sick – no indication of whether that means physically sick or mentally unwell but given what we know about her childhood I am guessing it was both.

Sarita confronts Gaby about keeping the stalker secret. She insists they go and make a police report. She also tells Andres so the cat is out of the bag, Gaby won’t be going anywhere alone anymore. Andres agrees to drive her to school. She is going with Sara and Jimena later to the police station. Gaby’s phone starts ringing and she goes into full emergency mode trying to answer it in time but she misses the call. She calls Nino, no answer. Gaby is concerned, why isn’t he answering? What in the world is he going on with him? (He’s in jail, honey)

It looks like Juan believed Felix. He’s talking to Oscar about the chat and Juan is convinced Felix is a scared kid worried about his sister and not some strong enemy like they thought. Juan is sure something happened to Adela. Oscar disagrees and thinks Felix is cagy. The brothers are at a complete 180 as Juan wants to find out more now about what is going on and Oscar thinks they should leave everything to the police. They know the twins are innocent and that’s all that matters they should just stay out of it. (I found this scene kind of disturbing. I’ve never disliked Oscar necessarily, but the idea that he could learn of those two kids being tortured and tormented by their father the way they were and just shrug and say who cares, it’s none of our business, is icy cold hearted and awful) They also talk about Gaby and how they have to keep an eye out and protect her. Juan makes a comment about how Sarita never had any problems with her kids and with everything going on this must be very hard on her, he hopes Andres doesn’t get into any trouble in Rosario’s bar.

Season 2 Episode 10 Part 3

Andres is in the bar and the band is playing a very pretty melody but apparently it isn’t working for them because they get frustrated and Rosario suggests a break (I liked it). Andres goes to sit with Rosario and after reassurances on both parts that everything is going well with the band, Rosario starts asking about JD like a lovesick school girl. Does he have a girlfriend? Andres doesn’t know but he doesn’t think so. Rosario wants to know when JD will come back. The look on Andres’ face says it all, why is this grown woman asking about his cousin like a little girl. He reluctantly fills her in on everything going on and how busy JD is. Andres goes back to work and Rosario is encouraged because now she has motive to convince herself (and try to convince Gunter) that JD didn’t come just because he’s busy at the ranch and having family problems, not because he’s disinterested and horrified by their last encounter!

Speaking of JD, he’s sleeping and dreaming in flashes of that night. Quintina wakes him to come to dinner (she calls him Juanda) with his dad and brothers but he says he is tired and not hungry. He asks her to tell his dad he isn’t going to eat and rolls over to go back to sleep.

Juan is concerned that JD is acting strange. He asks the twins if something happened that night at the bar but they play dumb and insist he is just tired from work. They switch the topic to grandpa and mom spending the night in the hospital with him. Juan says the three sisters will take turns staying with their grandpa and the twins think it won’t be any trouble for them because they adore their grandpa. (I gotta say Mario Cimarro isn’t my favorite actor but I love the way he looks at the twins as if he is trying to figure out what brand of alien they are. His look his half-stern and half-amused, it cracks me up!)

Norma is with grandpa in the hospital talking about old times and it’s clear that he misses the days when he was surrounded by family and he feels so lonely in that house with only Gabriela and Dominga to keep him company. Norma says he won’t feel lonely now because she is here and tomorrow Sarita is coming and then Jimena the next day. Grandpa wonders how many accidents he can have to continue to get such attention. The wheels are spinning in Norma’s head and she promises she is going to do something to improve things for him.

Oscar and Jimena are having dinner with Sara and Gaby. They talk about the stalker being reported but it’s still a worry because Gaby really didn’t have any information about the guy and the police don’t have much to go on. Sara says they will make sure someone is always with Gaby until they can buy her a car. Oscar volunteers to help with the car purchase, he can take Gaby. Gaby isn’t interested in car shopping; she suggests her uncle buy a car and surprise her! He agrees. Oscar suggests it’s time to go home but Sara says it’s time for dessert.

In Romina’s house of horrors, she’s disturbed to see Duvan passed out on the floor with his hand holding his precious bike. She can’t get him to wake up and is about to go get cold water to throw on him to wake him up but Madrina stops her. Romina is disgusted that she can’t even discipline her own son without interference anymore, and Madrina gives her more of the stop being a scary little psycho and try to be a normal person speech. Romina goes off to bed and leaves Duvan in the hands of Madrina, and speaking of scary little psychos Madrina does some weird voo doo and Duvan shoots straight up. She tells him it’s time to go to bed but first she is going to teach him a lesson tonight. Pay close attention and follow her advice….someone get that poor boy out of that house, now!

Season 2 Episode 10 Part 4

Oscar is getting playful in bed but Jimena hears a dog. Oscar doesn’t care and doesn’t understand why Jimena is concerned. Jimena is excited though! It could be the lost dog!!! Oscar forgot about that lie and actually says, what lost dog? She tells Oscar she hasn’t stopped thinking about that boy since she saw him the other day, she’s worried about him finding his dog. Oscar once again tries to convince Jimena to forget about that dog and boy and the house on the corner of the property.
Oscar is at the car dealership talking about buying a car for Gaby, he also asks about the more economical cars and it seems he is considering getting Gaby a nice new shiny ride and possibly getting Romina a less flashy new used car. He is interrupted by a call from Jimena, it’s time for another family meeting! This time at Juan’s house.

This time the family meeting is about Don Martin. Norma has a fantastic idea, they can play musical houses with abuelo and he can benefit from being able to spend time with everyone in the family and feel less lonely. Basically he would live with all of them in turns. The kids all love this idea and the adults are supportive. Gabriela is offended at first because she feels like they are suggesting she doesn’t take good care of her father but she comes around and there is a family celebration as she agrees to the plans. It’s actually really cute – Juan whistles in celebration, the twins kiss their grandma on the forehead and she wipes the kisses away and in dignified detachment. (Notable is Quintina calls Gabriela ‘Dona Gabrielita’ which seems to be in genuine affection)

Gabriela gives her father the news and he’s thrilled. Gabriela tells him he will no longer be stuck with the bitter old witch as he calls her. Don Martin tells her it’s not like that but it’s clearly thrilled and can’t hide it. It’s clear these two love each other even though they drive each other crazy.

Gaby and Andres are driving and talking about the stalker. Gaby hasn’t seen him again. Andres says the whole family is worried about her, they get to school and Andres reminds her to call him if Sara can’t come to get her. He’ll leave rehearsal to come get her if necessary but she shouldn’t be alone, period. Gaby agrees and goes off to see some friends. One girl immediate asks about Andres who she waves at and he waves back. She thinks he’s hot but Gaby says immediately not to waste her time (how does she know that?) Gaby asks about Nino and the girl says she hasn’t seen him either, in fact she was just about to ask Gaby if she had.

Later, Oscar brings the shiny new car to Gaby and she receives it with a thank you and very little excitement. They are going to leave and let Gaby practice driving. (Driving right out of a busy university when you don’t know how to drive doesn’t seem like a particularly good idea, but whatever) Gaby drives around for awhile and Oscar comments on her lack of excitement on getting her first car. Gaby says she just isn’t into material things. The car is nice and all but she’s more impressed by people, friendships and their feelings. Oscar comments she is exactly like Franco. Franco was reserved and without ambition for material things but he would do anything for people he loved. Gaby asks if Oscar has heard from Franco and the answer is no (This whole conversation is odd because every comment Oscar makes is in the past tense as if Franco were dead and not just gone). They shake it off and decide to go to the hospital to pick up grandma and Don Martin. Gaby even says she’ll drop Oscar off at the boutique first which again seems like a bad idea for someone who is just learning to drive but he agrees readily.

Season 2 Episode 10 Part 5

Sara and Gabriela are getting Martin ready to leave but he wants to stay and be with the nurses! LOL Sarita gives her grandpa a hard time about falling in love with the nurses and Gabriela tells him Gaby is on her way and they need to know where he wants to go. Is he going to stay with Sara and her kids or with Norma and Juan (she says it nicely enough but it’s obvious she isn’t thrilled)? Don Martin says he has no intention of leaving Gabriela right now, apparently just having the option is enough for him. Gabriela hugs her dad in gratitude and Sarita has a huge smile on her face, she looks like she’s thinking the same thing I said above about these two loving each other and loving to drive each other crazy.

There is a crime scene investigation going on and they have a body. Feliz arrives and he doesn’t know if he can do this. Matis says he can’t do it himself because he hasn’t seen her in so long, he isn’t sure what she looks like. He’s sorry it’s hard, but it needs to be done. They walk over to the body bag and it’s unzipped. Matis asks, ‘Is this your sister?’ We don’t hear the response.

The family is leaving the hospital and they run into Gabriela’s good friend, who she is arm and arm with and laughing up a storm, it’s Demetrio Jurado! The man who has been following Gaby!! He asks about Sarita who looks uncomfortable but greets him. Gabriela introduces Don Martin who says nothing but looks unimpressed. Then Gabriela introduces Gaby and tells her to say hi, she’s frozen! She flashes back on the previous encounters; Demetrio says hello and puts out his hand but Gaby doesn’t move and the episode ends with a panicked expression on her face.

Pasion

Honestly Gabriela’s poor judgement in choice of men in her life just baffles me. First it was Fernando and now this creep of a Demetrio?? Those Reyes boys better rally round and protect Gaby. Oscar better tell Jimena about Duval...she’s already beginning to show maternal concern for him so he could use this opportunity to come out clean to her...she’ll be greatly upset and angry but may accept Duval and not leave Oscar.

Herc S2 #68 part 1

Firat is outside the konak about to call Miran, when Esma rushes out and grabs the phone away. This isn’t the right time, she tells him. He wants it back and she refuses. I gave my word to Azize, she says, and you promised me. He tries to make his case by saying Miran is in trouble, and she is worried that Fusun is plotting. Esma won’t give in. Firat tries again—today we lost Harun, tomorrow it could be Miran. I could be killed next, he says, this damned revenge will consume us all. [truer words!] Miran is my brother, give me the phone.

At this point, Azize walks up. Since you see Miran as a brother, then you will keep my secret. Just like I kept quiet when I learned the truth. Your mother kept quiet, and you will, too. Firat stands firm and declares he will protect Miran from both Azize and Fusun.

How, Azize asks? Let’s say you speak with Miran and tell him I am Hazar’s mother and that my blood runs through his veins. What then? Were you happy when you learned who your father was? Were you proud when you discovered he was a bastard who tortured your mother? This gives Firat pause.

Azize continues, Miran sees me as a beast. In his eyes, even your father is better than me. So if you see him as a brother, you’ll keep quiet. Firat explains, Fusun will blame you for Harun’s death and if that happens… She interrupts, but we know I didn’t kill the boy. Now Firat interrupts her saying she doesn’t understand. You haven’t killed anyone, but she (Fusun) will! She won’t have mercy on Miran or your son!

Azize promises that no one will touch her children. She will protect them. She pleads, if you tell him now, he will never recover. He won’t be able to stand it. Let him be happy. Miran and Hazar may hate me, but I’m still strong and I can protect them. Azize enters the konak. Firat wishes his mother never told him about this. They go back inside.

Fusun is in the bedroom with shrouded Harun. [I have read that a knife on the body is to keep evil spirits away. It doesn’t seem to be working because Fusun is there. Maybe a bigger knife is needed.] Fusun tells Harun, one day, those who live in fear will die, son. The brave will, too. Azize enters the room. Fusun continues, the cruel will die and so will their victims. Those who have children have been tested with them. Fusun’s test is over and now it’s everyone else’s turn. Who did this to you, Fusun asks, how will they be tested?

We see Handan listening outside the “porous door” (I believe VVS coined this one). Fusun asks Azize, what do you think? Aren’t I right? You were very precise, Azize answers, those who have children have been tested with them. Someone who has children they could lose would not do this to others. I would say that those who did this to Harun should be punished with their children. But it wasn’t any of mine. Handan silently panics outside the door.

Are you saying you are innocent, Fusun asks? I am regretful, Azize answers, and I need to be forgiven. And I promise that if no one touches my own, then I won’t touch your family. Azize leaves.

We see the mourners at the konak and the Quran is read. Nasuh has come to join them, and I guess that’s why Cihan thanks him. Nasuh advises Cihan to take Yaren home because she’s in bad shape and they should all be together at a time like this.

Handan signals to Cihan for a chat. She tells him that Fusun suspects Azize. Who else would she suspect, he replies, she’s right. No one else could have done it. [he left out: except for Yaren] He tells her to go back and sit.

Herc S2 #68 part 2

After the Al-Fatiha, Fusun addresses the mourners. I want you all to hear this. This house is not in mourning. We will not mourn here. We won’t shed any tears. I won’t allow my friends to suffer. You have visited, you have honored us, and you are here for us. May God bless you today and always. I will accept your condolences one by one. And if you excuse me, I’d like to be with my son on his last night. Goodbye.

Miran takes off and Firat goes to follow, but first his mother grabs his hand to remind him of the promise.

Nasuh turns to Cihan, maybe now is not the right time, but, I broke your heart. Forgive me. I will make it up to you. I promise. Take your daughter and go home. Cihan replies, it’s not the right time, dad.

The mourners give their condolences to Fusun as they file out. Cihan stops in front of Fusun and they exchange looks.

Firat speaks with ReyMir outside the konak. Did you notice Fusun’s attitude, he asks, what kind of mother reacts like that? It’s unbelievable! Every mother is unique, Miran replies, she prioritizes poison over mercy. Reyyan adds that Azize seemed very hurt over this. Miran responds, Azize doesn’t know how to feel pain. She’s probably plotting her next move. He wants to know why Rey continues to defend her.

I’m not defending her or anyone, Rey answers. You said she was hurt, Miran replies. Yes, Rey says, didn’t you see her at the square? I did, Miran emphatically asserts. Firat tells them to calm down.

Rey says Azize did it for Nasuh, and Miran replies it has nothing to do with Nasuh. Azize’s essence is evil, he says. I understand what happened with grandpa, and let’s say I understand what she did to us. But what about Fusun, he asks, why do those two hate each other? Their sons pay for their sins and neither one cares. It’s good that her blood doesn’t run through my veins. [It’s a wonder that Miran doesn’t catch the guilty looks on Rey and Firat.]

Seyda is with a weepy Asiye in the kitchen. He doesn’t understand why Fusun would have sent everyone away who would come to the funeral. What kind of love for her son is she showing? She won’t even cry. I adored Harun, Asiye replies. Yes, Seyda asks, but what about the mother? Asiye warns him to be quiet and says we all have our ways of grieving. Seyda says, I’d ask God to give her patience, but she seems to have plenty. Seyda leaves.

Asiye calls Mahfuz. He tells her he heard the news and tells her to be careful. Fusun will be more dangerous than ever. Asiye says she feels trapped in the mansion. She wants to leave. Mahfuz wants to send her to be with Reyyan but needs to figure out how to do it. He will be in touch.

Yaren enters the bedroom where Harun is laid out [more proof the knife is not working its magic]. She reaches out and says his name. A voice calls out, Yaren! And she turns to see Harun by the door. A look at the bed and the body is not there. Harun?

Harun approaches his teary wife. Are you really suffering, he asks? Why? You wanted this to happen, didn’t you? She shakes her head… no… no, I didn’t. I never meant to do any of it. Harun’s got that old look on his face. He tells Yaren, I’ve been the only person who’s ever loved you, but you killed me. No, Yaren says. You killed me, he replies. No, she repeats. How are you going to live with this lie, he asks?

He takes her hand and places it on his bloody shirt. Her hand is stained. My blood will never wash from your hands, he says like he’s placing a curse. How will you be able to live with the guilt? Yaren pulls her hand away from his. We hear a loud heartbeat and Yaren’s eyes pop open. She’s been dreaming, kneeling beside the bed. Terrified, she quickly exits the room and runs smack into Fusun.

What happened, Fusun asks, behave yourself. Handan is there to rescue her daughter and lead her away as Fusun enters the bedroom.

Herc S2 #68 part 3

Azat tries to comfort Gonul outside the konak. Are you ok, he asks? Are you, she replies? He sits beside her and admits he is not okay. If I found a door that took me away from this world, I’d walk through not caring where it would take me. Gonul looks at him and asks, would you take me with you? His look says it all.

Nasuh meets with Azize. She tells him that Fusun suspects she killed Harun. Her silence won’t lead to anything good, Azize warns. Why does she blame you, he asks? It’s the rancor between us, Azize replies, and she believes I took my revenge by killing her son. But I swear I didn’t do it. I didn’t kill him. Nasuh believes his Ayse and assures her no one will be hurt while he’s around.

Azize says she doesn’t fear death, but she’s worried for Hazar and Miran. He’s surprised. Does she know that Hazar is our son, he asks? Yep. Azize begs Nasuh to do all he can to protect Hazar and Miran. Fusun won’t stop, her son is dead. Nothing will stop her now. A knowing nod from Nasuh.

Dilsah is walking past Zehra’s bedroom and hears the baby crying. Zehra isn’t around and Dilsah can’t resist the cries. She enters, picks up the baby and holds her close. The baby stops crying. Zehra comes rushing in with the baby’s bottle.

Dilsah makes her excuses and apologizes, the baby was crying, I couldn't ignore her cries. I’m sorry. She hands the baby over to Zehra. Zehra takes a look at teary Dilsah and tells her to hold the baby, just as Hazar passes the door. He watches for a moment as Dilsah takes the baby into her arms. Zehra smiles, she likes you. She stopped crying when you held her.

Please forgive me, Zehra asks. Forgive me. Hazar backs away from the door. Zehra continues, I did something no one should ever do. I lied to you, and I regret it very much. Dilsah says nothing, hands the baby back to Zehra and leaves.

We see Hazar standing outside against the wall. He goes into the bedroom and closes the door. Zehra hands him his PJs. He takes them and places them on the bed. He sits on the bed and holds his hand out to Zehra. She takes it, sits next to him, and puts her head on his shoulder and cries. I guess all is forgiven.

Rey gets ready for bed before the mirror. Mir comes up behind her and says, mirror, mirror, is there anyone more beautiful than Reyyan? She sees the answer to that question in his eyes. He notices she is tired and thinks it’s because of everything she’s been through with his mother. [I’d say it’s more like what she’s been through with you]

Rey says, life can be tiresome at times. Once again a young life was lost over nothing. We are going to bring a child into this world, and I’m scared. More scared than ever. He reminds her, you once said if we ever have children, we will never each them to feel hatred or seek revenge. Our children won’t be victims of their parents like we were.

Rey worries that Harun won’t be the last victim in these lands. We shouldn’t sow hate, she says, it should end. It will, Miran tells her, I promise that it will all work out. He gives her a kiss and holds her close.

Cihan speaks with Fusun. I know that I speak in vain, but this will hurt us all. I know that the loss of a child is very difficult. Do you really know, she asks? He says he does, but Fusun doesn’t buy it. May you never experience it, she tells him, you don’t know how strong the pain is. May God comfort you, Cihan replies and adds, I know this isn’t the best time… but you should look at this. He shows her a video on his phone. A man is standing near the fallen Harun. Looks like it could be Mahmut.

Herc S2 #68 part 4

We get a flashback to clarify. It starts with Cihan’s voice over while Azize prays: one of our workers heard the shot and rushed over. When he saw my SIL, he recognized him, then he took a video and sent it to me. We see one of Cihan’s workers sneak in and grab Azize’s phone while she is in prayer. Cihan explains he waited to show her this because her loss was so recent.

Flashback continues. Mahmut gets a call from the man with Azize’s phone. He tells Mahmut that this woman has been in an accident, and this was the last number she called. Mahmut is alarmed. Accident? Where are you? The man sends the location and quickly places the phone back in Azize’s room.

Azize finishes her prayers and adds another of her own. My Lord, don’t leave me weak before my enemies. Take care of them, my son, my grandson, Miran, protect them. May your light guide them. I need your strength to save my family. Grant me the strength I need to become Ayse the woman I once was. [give me some to believe it] Don’t take my life before I’ve earned their forgiveness.

We see Mahmut arrive at the place where Harun was shot and there’s someone there to record it. Mahmut immediately realizes what’s going on. He calls Azize and tells her, we’ve been set up. He looks around and quickly leaves. End flashback. Now we know what Cihan meant when he said, “did you do what I asked?”

Cihan tells Fusun that he considered Harun as a son. He leaves. She orders Ismet to have the gravediggers prepare the best lot in the cemetery for Harun and three more graves next to his. I’m going to fill each, one by one, she says.

Esma tells Azize she’s scared. Azize asks if Fusun has threatened her. No. You know better than most what it’s like to lose a child, Esma says, but Fusun is acting strange. She won’t acknowledge she’s lost a child. She will accuse you of killing Harun. Aren’t you going to do anything?

But I didn’t kill that boy, Azize responds, someone else is involved. I’ll find out and they will pay dearly. Esma warns, there is no time. I afraid of what she (Fusun) might do. She has nothing to lose but we have children. We all have someone to lose, Azize says, Fusun doesn’t know it yet, but she has someone, too. Who, Esma asks, who else besides Harun? Azize gets that familiar ace up her sleeve look and replies—her greatest treasure. One only I happen to know about. [any guesses?]

Reyyan is up, dressed and ready to go for the day. She tells Miran to wake up, there’s a lot to do. He wants 5 more minutes. She looks at her hands and gets an idea. Okay, she tells him, you can have 5 more minutes. She carefully lifts the covers and slips her hands underneath. [I must admit I wondered what she was going for---it couldn’t possibly be… they would never do this in a dizi!] Miran shoots bolt upright, Hey! What are you doing?! Stop, I’m up! She keeps trying to put her hands on him. Stop, they’re cold! He invokes Umut not to laugh along with his mother’s joke.

I’m issuing a ReyMir advisory for the next few minutes.

He finally gets her to stop but says she will pay for this. She claims this was her special technique. He counters she will soon learn his technique. Rey tells him let’s get moving and he pulls her back down on the bed. His “technique” is to start a pillow fight. And the feathers fly. When it calms down they talk about leaving their honeymoon cabin but now they will have their own home. ReyMir, Umut, Dilsah. Umut will grow up with a large family.

We cut to various scenes of ReyMir fixing up the new konak. And of course every konak needs a pic of a horse. And there’s the pillow fight selfie. The work is finally done, and the sign is placed outside: Umut Konağı - Mansion of Hope.

Herc S2 #68 part 5

Here’s the Turkish song that was replaced: Haydi Gel Benimle Ol/Come Be with Me - Sezen Aksu

YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qol0bBbcm44
lyrics: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/haydi-gel-benimle-ol-come-and-be-me.html

Reyyan smashes a pomegranate on the front steps of Hope Mansion and declares, [Turkish] let there be peace, prosperity, smiles and many people. Inshallah! Miran is anxious to open the door, but Rey wishes to do more ritual good luck stuff. Mir shoots a look and she backs off and takes the key. But first she insists on a selfie in front of their new home, which both Dilsah and Hazar witness from an unseen distance. Rey opens the door, reminds Miran—right foot in!

Azize shows up outside the Hope Mansion door. You will get to know your mother, dear grandson, Azize says, my only wish is for you to be happy. Azize gets a call from Mahmut. We found the man and we got him to talk. She heads off.

Mahfuz visits the grave of Harun. “Aslan” is buried beside him. Brother, my dearest friend, forgive me, he says, forgive me. I couldn’t protect you. He sheds some tears. Fusun arrives. Are you here to see what you’ve done, she asks? What I’ve done, he asks, what are you talking about? Fusun replies, you wanted to protect your daughter, but instead you put Aslan underground.

Mahfuz clarifies, we came here to stop the hemorrhaging you caused. You may not know peace, but Harun knew what it was. He knew that it was easy to spill blood, but hard to control the hemorrhaging. And, Fusun asks, did he stop it? I will, Mahfuz vows, Harun will be the last one. I will shed my own blood if need be. I won’t let you hurt my daughter or grandson. Too late, Fusun says, the vein has been cut and the blood will flow.

And? Will that bring your son back, Mahfuz asks? I don’t live with false hopes, Fusun responds, but I assure you that those who sent Harun to his grave will pay with their lives, one by one. The peace is over, Fusun declares, these are times of war. Mahfuz cautions, if you lay a hand on my daughter, grandson or Miran, you will die. When God deems it so, we will all meet our death, Fusun states, I don’t fear death. I have nothing to lose. My turn is over, it’s their turn now. They should fear me.

And we are out.

Excellent recap, dondi. Thank you for explaining the knife and a lot of the other customs that went right past me.

They saved some of the makeup budget by not showing Harun's cleaned up dead body. That shroud was cheaper than the makeup artists working to show him very pale and dead.

Mahfuz is my new hero. I hope they don't kill him off saving his daughter. Looks like they're not going with Hazar and Dilsah being together and maybe a chance for Mahfuz and Zehra.

I was quite surprised they had ReyMir move into the house next door to Sad house so quickly.

They keep having Miran drone on and on, with a spiteful look on his face, how much he hates Azize. I suppose he'll get to sob and puff out his cheeks when he discovers the truth.

I'm tired of Fusun. But I do wish they'd give us some back story about where she's been all these years and why she left the Aslanbey konak in the first place. Seems like she'd have stayed there and fought Azize for control of the place.

Yep, that was a sly little thing when Rey put her hand under the covers. Of course they went with her hands being cold that got him to jump out of bed.

I suppose the only guess I can come up with is that the baby Azize gave to Dilsah was somehow either Fusun's baby or in another way related to her.

Thank you PDG fan for providing the wikipedia info. To be completely honest, I suspect wiki is incorrect this time. I can't remember any particular scene or reveal to prove it one way or the other but I still believe Norma is the oldest. I do know that the remakes (Fuego en La Sangre and Tierra De Reyes) all portrayed the character of Norma or Sophia (who was Norma equivalent) as oldest. But ultimately it probably doesn't matter much.

I am surprised to say this, but thus far in season 2 Juan is my second favorite character. JD is my favorite for reasons that are obvious and have been clearly communicated I believe. But even though Mario isn't my favorite actor, I believe the character of Juan is showing the most growth (so far) after 20 years. The character really does seem to have grown and developed some real compassion for others. I like how he seemed to really emphasize with Feliz, how he he showed compassion and concern for what Sarita must be feeling and how he seems to zero in on what is missing and suspicious in what others are/are not saying in the Prof Carreno mystery. I still can't make the slightest sense of the fact that he's become so passive in 20 years but I can easily believe that if anyone is going to solve this mystery, it will be Juan. He seems to be the only one who truly sees what is going on.

I also like how Jimena is interested in Duval. She is an innocent and good character in this with a completely uninterested and just genuine reaction. A young innocent boy supposedly lost his dog and she's just interested in making sure boy and dog are reunited. I still think there's more to this story than the simple parentage question but I can easily see this child ending up with Oscar and Jimena.

I really hope we see lots of character growth from everybody in the coming episodes along with the quick return of Franco who we are so sorely missing! I loved the original show so much and I so want to see the second chapter do justice to it. It's starting off slowly. It's building suspense, but let's see it cash in on that suspense.

Exceptional recap Dondi356, as always! Honestly, aside from Fusun, I enjoyed this episode. It was a lighter, more kinder one with the playfulness of Reymir, and watching them paint, decorate and take pics of their very own konak. Miran CAN be charming, engaging and fun when he isn’t in screaming, huffing and puffing mode. They got to be a “normal” married couple with all the hopes and dreams that all young couples start out with.

I’m sorry Azize talked Firat out of telling Miran the truth, especially with Miran’s constant new mantra “ I’m so glad her blood (Azize) doesn’t run through my veins.” Well, you’re in for a big surprise Miran and I’m sure that those bangs of yours are going to be angrier than ever! Not telling him is going to bite both Reyyan and Firat. “Tell me no secrets and I’ll tell you no lies,” should be the order of the day ALWAYS at this point.

I thought it was sweet of Zehra to reach out to Dilsah, even though I’m still mad at her, but I too, think there’s something wrong with Dilsah, something a lot deeper that will also be dark and ugly. Why else do they keep introducing new characters and storylines? I mean, I know Azize’s revenge ran deep, but these folks are coming out of the woodworks like they do when someone hits the lotto! Enough already!

I’m a Mahfouz fan too! He’s not just gonna let Fusun run cock wild and hurt those he loves, and I’m really digging him for it! I’m sorry but Fusun does not strike the fear of anything over here. Her threats leave me flat, and I also wish, on some level, that we would’ve gotten a back story on her. Maybe then she’d be more believable to me. Cause younger Azize was a Be-Atch on Wheels! You can’t help but HATE her rotten azz! Hell, Azize hates her own rotten butt now too!

Loved Harun returning to Yaren! Yaren’s nutty behind is gonna crack, fold, and confess before Cihan can make up another lie! Yaren can’t stand the guilt and simply won’t be able to withstand the pressure! And I’m gonna love every minute of watching her do that! I’m thinking that maybe this daughter of Dilsah’s is also related to Fusun. That smile on Azize’s face when she was telling Esma that she did have something that Fusun wants, told me as much.

And Reyyan’s cold hands alone waking up Miran——-yeah right! Hahaha!

Thanks so much again dondi356! Loved your recap! And thank you too Halimacandy for explaining so much of the culture and its customs!

Pasion

Thank you Darcy for your recap and excellent comments and observations! I have to agree with you about Juan. The tiger has been tamed, and he’s not only thoughtful, but he’s calm and orderly in his thinking. And even though he looks like Crocodile Dundee with long hair, he’s apparently a very smart businessman who takes pride in working with his hands——- and horses! He still sounds like he’s got a wad of bubblegum in his mouth when he talks, but I’m liking Juan——-a lot!

I’m still working through the characters in 2022 as opposed to 20 yrs ago, but I don’t have a good feel on the Norma or Sarita characters yet. Jimena’s character is more defined, and so likable. And I agree with the statement regarding Gabriela’s taste in men——-it really sucks! Didn’t surprise me that it turned out to be creepy guy, or that he made his move at this exact time.

Rosario is already obsessed and her own personal “Egor” is going to make sure that she gets what she wants. I hope JD is up for it, but I don’t think he’s any match for this manipulative broken woman and her sidekick who’s only mission in life, it seems, is to keep her happy. Although JD is definitely a man, and smart in his own right, he still has that innocence about him that will cause him to get tangled up in her web.

Thanks again Darcy! Great recap!

herc

Thanks very much, dondi356, for yet another wonderful recap. I don't have much to add to what previous commenters have said. I loved your snark and the delightful way you described Reyyan's waking up Miran. I also greatly appreciated your explanation of the knife on the shroud and your translations of what Reyyan said when she smashes the pomegranate on the front steps of her new house, as well as her reminding Miran "right foot in." Your understanding of the Turkish language and culture adds so much!

And yes, I too am on Team Mahfouz!

I'm really puzzled by who the person is that Fusun would be afraid to lose. It seems unlikely that it's any of the current characters. At first, I thought it might be Dilsah's "daughter," whom we haven't yet seen. It's not a stretch in this dizi to think that the baby girl Azize gave Dilsah was actually Fusun's. Fusun might have had the baby sent to an orphanage if she was unmarried when she gave birth. Or perhaps Azize stole the baby from Fusun. But regardless, I don't think that baby, now a grown woman, would mean as much to Fusun as she apparently does to Dilsah. Since Azize wants to right the wrongs she has done to others, she certainly wouldn't want to cause Dilsah even more pain by harming her "daughter." So I'm at a loss as to whom Azize has in mind.

Hercai

Dondi, thank you for an excellent account of the continuing ....whatever this show has turned into.

I am getting tired of the revenge blather and Miran's ongoing hissy fits . At least foxy Rey tried to lighten things up with her cold hands .

Add me to the list of Mahfouz fans...fouzfans??.... because he may be our last hope for a pseudohero. Azat has practically disappeared from this tale.

I have had enough of Azz and Fusan's endless threats to each other . Maybe move on and try something new. Maybe a hobby .

Hello Hercai Patio! I have been MIA this week as I was on unexpected travel and didn’t have minute to watch or comment. Thanks to the terrific recaps from Juanita, Nett, novelera and dondi356, plus the terrific comments from carmella, Susanlynn and HalimaCandy, I am all caught up. I appreciate the hard recapping work for these crazy episodes.

I was very sad to see Harun killed and so glad that his ghost is haunting the yellow centipede. Like several of you, I love that Mahfuz is back in full force and will certainly be the savior of his family against that nasty Fusun.

I am still struggling with the Azize/Ayse transformation especially with her claim last night that she knows Fusun’s greatest treasure. Is it possible that Dilsah’s adopted daughter is related to Fusun somehow? dondi356 and Juanita hinted maybe a daughter? What in the heck happened between Azize and Fusun to do such harm?

I loved the ReyMir decorating and design scenes! So glad they moved out of the cabin and into that konak of hope! It was very well done and Reyyan was so happy. I am looking forward to the change of konak scenery and the apparent plot update with maybe a new character.

Hi all. Just a heads-up about Tuesday, March 1. According to Telemundo's online program listing, neither Hercai nor Pasión will be shown this Tuesday, due to President Biden's State of the Union address. However, Zap2It shows that Hercai will appear from 10-11 PM and Pasión will not be shown. I have found both sources to be right more or less equally often. ¿Quién sabe?

Thank you everyone for the kind words and insightful comments.

Each time you share, HalimaCandy, I gain a deeper understanding of Turkish culture and Islamic practice. I appreciate it.

I didn’t understand why Firat and Miran were standing over with the ladies and why Rey wasn’t sitting with them.

About “Fusan’s demand of...‘Shed -NO -TEARS’.. .It is not really cruel…It’s customary…it shows you trust in Allah” I understand this, but in the Turkish she said, “I have no intention of upsetting my friends and making my enemies laugh.” That sounds more like revenge mode stuff and not about “showing trust in Allah”. And she asked everyone to leave. I have never seen that in a dizi before. Generally speaking, it’s bad form to ask guests to leave. That’s why Seyda had that horrified reaction in the kitchen.

I was unsure of Mahfuz at first but I’m at his table now. I hope he doesn’t get sacrificed.

Yes, novelera, it’s too bad were gonna get more of the huffing and puffing Miran once he finds out about the blood in his veins. Hazar won’t be a happy camper either. Everyone else knows but them.

We have time left, so hopefully we will get more of the Fusun backstory. Who the heck was Harun’s father? Was Fusun ever married? Did she have children out of wedlock? Wouldn’t that be a huge sin worthy of an honor killing? Maybe that’s why she had to leave the Aslanbey konak.

And I’m betting that Azra is connected to Fusun. But how is Azize the only one to know about her? These people are a bunch of crazy baby stealers.

ReyMir wasn’t too bad in this ep. The fixing up the konak scenes were edited down from the original.

Juanita, great analysis about the Azra connection to Fusun, Azize and Dilsah and questioning why Azize would want to further hurt Dilsah by harming her “daughter”.

Susanlynn, “fouzfans” is cute. And it’s a shame that “Azat has practically disappeared from this tale.” But I guess he’s going to find that door and walk through it with Gonul before this tale ends.

Good to have you back, VVS. You had some very nice ReyMir on Friday night! I’m still not there on the Azize/Ayse transformation either. She needs to do more. ITA, carmella, “Cause younger Azize was a Be-Atch on Wheels! You can’t help but HATE her rotten azz!”

Hercai

Well, it seems that Miran suddenly remembered that he had purchased that konak , so those renovations at the Love Shack can be called off. I think that we keep track of past storylines better than these writers do .

I still don't know why such a big deal was made about introducing the guaypo, mysterious Aslan when the writers decided to kill him off so quickly. They seem to love to introduce new characters but then don't give them interesting storylines . Fusan acts menacingly and makes a lot of threats, but she doesn't actually seem to do anything except shoot and smack her own henchies . Big talker. Most of these characters are one dimensional with no shades of grey.

herc

I think Harun did have a father and was born in wedlock. They've said his name was Harun Bakircioglu not Harun Aslanbey.

Dondi, loved "bunch of crazy baby stealers".

Herc

Thanks, novelera. I don’t remember her saying she married anyone. So he must have died or they divorced. I remember her saying she wanted to keep the Aslanbey name. Would a husband let her do that? Does that mean the “Bakircioglus” that came to the SAD konak for the engagement stuff were all fakes? IIRC, someone investigated them and found no records dated before a certain time. It’s all very strange. I’d like to know more.

HERCAI

HECK NO!! I JUST saw the new house. Next door!!

Gosh darn awful furniture.!!..where did they get that ULGY furniture for a FUNERAL PARLOR...

......that stank green color has been out of use for over 100 years old and it's the green from Victorian/ or late 1950's...rugs...

it's the green ,you commonly seen Drape over caskets .....Even, Mosques/Masjids rarely use that carpet color anymore...!! Get with the 21st century..already......

Cheap and ugly... where the heck did those pull those chairs from ??Grand pappy's attic. Did that crap come with the house??

Reyyan you got money..spend it or get a decorator for gosh sakes?? very disappointed...

... well if someone dies. Your living room is funeral ready....yuckYUCKYUCK!!!!!

herc

You make good points, dondi, about Harun's parentage. I do remember his showing up with fake parents to court Yaren.

I thought he used the name Bakircioglu after he had been revealed as Fusun's son. But then I don't have a fabulous track record where my memory of dizi/TN events is concerned!
