Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #73
Part 1 of 4
I did it, screams Yaren, I killed your son. Fusun joins her in the courtyard, staring face to face and tells her to get it together (so much drama for that??). She realizes that Yaren is widowed young and it is painful, but Fusun will not allow her to wallow in self-pity. Look at me, she says, I am in terrible pain but haven’t shed a tear because I will not let my enemies laugh or see me weak.
Stunned, Yaren yells, you don’t understand, I killed Harun! As she is yelling, Cihan and Handan arrive, tell Fusun that Yaren isn’t in her right mind and they talked to a doctor who said the medication she is on might cause hallucinations. Handan tells Fusun she would like to take Yaren home to take care of her. Fusun says that Yaren’s place in there, in the home of her dead husband. She will be well cared for. Then seeing the look of concern/guilt pass between Handan and Cihan, Fusun relents and lets them take Yaren home to the Sad casa.
Handan takes Yaren to the bedroom to pack as Fusun tells Cihan that she did not appreciate him shooting one of her men and yes, they collaborated but he should not think they are partners or that he is her equal.
On the rooftop of the Hope konak, Miran brings Reyyan a blanket as she stares out over Midyat night skyline. He reminds her of the time they met at the shopping bazar and she called him a thug. They discuss how important it is to earn trust and how long it has taken them to get to a place of trust with each other. It started with the swing in the sky.
Miran tells her she taught him how to trust and he says that not matter what is going on, he has complete trust in her. Unfortunately, he feels that they are growing distant. She thinks to herself, that she would like to share everything, but if she doesn’t share with him now, it’s to protect him so he will not be sad. You need to hear the truth from your grandmother, not me. She needs to heal the wound she caused. She asks him to keep his promises and Miran thinks to himself that he cannot do that because he knows who fired at him, so she will not be hurt, he will not say anything. Both skirt around the issues of trust and none of the truth is revealed and nothing is resolved, but they love each other.
Azra is in her room reading. Dilsah comes in and asks how the visit with Azize went? All fine, she says, we just talked and got caught up. Dilsah notices that her bags are packed. Are you leaving? You would leave me alone, asks Dilsah. Azra is saved by her cell ringing and she rudely (I think) takes the call. It is Azize saying she will pick Azra up in an hour, she has something to discuss with her. Azra shares the conversation with Dilsah, who looks worried and thinks to herself, you will not take my daughter away from me again. I will not allow it.
At the Sad dinner table, Handan and Nasuh are trying to coax Yaren into eating something. When Nasuh speaks, we watch as the nasty old Yaren comes through and she dumps her plate on to the floor. It is Azat who tells everyone that she will eat when she is ready. Nasuh wonders where Cihan is as Azat receives a call and says he has to excuse himself from dinner and leaves.
Firat is waiting for Miran outside of the Hope casa. Miran smiles and nods his head as the two amigos hop in the car and reunite for another great adventure. As they drive off, Azize and Mahmut walk up.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #73
Part 2 of 4
We break off to see Cihan in his car overlooking the city. He ignores a call from Handan and someone else, maybe Azat. Suddenly, he is surrounded by someone’s henchmen who demand that he go with them.
Reyyan is pacing in the bedroom and gets a call from Azize. She is outside of the konak and wants to talk. Rey tells her no way, go away and don’t come back. Azize tells her that she wants to give Fusun her daughter. Mahmut is distracting the guards so Reyyan can open up.
Meanwhile, Cihan is lead into a dark building/warehouse of some kind. He tells the henchie, “don’t you know who I am? You will pay for this. Who is your boss? Who had you bring me here?” Who? As Cihan demands info, Miran and Firat walk in hand in hand (just kidding) and face off with Cihan. (Guess we know why Miran needed 10 strong men).
Back at casa Hope (less), Azize stands as the front door opens. She is expecting Reyyan but gets Dilsah instead. Dilsah, says Azize, please forgive me. Forgive you for a lifetime worth of tears, spits Dilsah. Why are you here? Azize says, Azra his Fusun’s daughter. What are you saying? responds Dilsah, turning a kitchen knife in her hand, behind her back. I know you raised Azra from a tiny baby, she helped heal you from losing Miran. I know I have sinned a lot, says Azize, but I have to tell the truth to Azra about her real mother. You will never take my daughter from me says Dilsah, I won’t allow it.
Back at the showdown with Cihan, Miran cocks a pistol and raises it to Cihan’s face, saying, I am the boss. (I noticed that the Turkish word for boss sounded similar to the Spanish “Patron”). Let me get straight to the point, says Miran, why do you want to kill me? We flash back to the day the truck driver was shot right under Miran and Hazar’s nose. Miran recognizes the person doing the shooting as Cihan, or at least he was running from the scene.
Back to Cihan, Miran says, you are my father’s brother, so I forgive you. You are son to my grandfather, so I forget. You are my uncle, Miran gets teary as Azat walks in, looking more than surprised with the scene in front of him. Miran continues, tell me, give me one good reason not to kill you. Stepping closer, Cihan says, shoot me. You came to ask me for an accounting of what occurred? Shoot me. Or why don’t you ask your wife to tell you. Find out what she is hiding from you. Miran’s cocky resolve is shaken as much as his hand shakes with that revelation.
In another dark place, Fusun arrives waiting for Azize to bring her daughter. Looking at the clock on her phone, it appears Azize is 7 minutes late.
Azize steps up closer to Dilsah saying I am very sorry and regret all the things I have done. Dilsah responds saying, you are a cruel, horrible woman. What more do you want from me? You stole my youth, my life, the man I love. You stole my son! Now you want to take my daughter? I have to, says Azize, I have to tell the truth.
As Reyyan comes down stairs she hears Dilsah say, you will never take my daughter. I won’t let you, says Dilsah as she plunges the knife into Azize’s gut and twists. Azize collapse to the ground as Dilsah calmly watches her fall. Azize moans as Dilsah stoops down and pulls the knife from her gut, saying, you are not going to take anything else from me.
Reyyan makes it to the front door and tries to help Azize. What have you done Dilsah? She deserves to die, Dilsah responds. Zehra is walking over with a plate of dinner and sees Azize lying, bleeding in the doorway. Lots of hysterics between Reyyan and Zehra. Reyyan takes charge and tells Zehra to take the now almost comatose Dilsah back to the Sad konak. Reyyan says, I have to move you before Miran gets here (that’s her biggest concern?).
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #73
Part 3 of 4
Back at the Cihan showdown, Miran demands to know what Reyyan has to do with anything? The calming force of Azat steps in and he tells Miran to lower the pistol. (When did Azat finally grow up?). Miran finally does and tells Cihan to speak the truth, stop muddying the waters. Again, Cihan tells Miran to have Reyyan sit in front of him and tell him everything she knows.
Azat looks over at Firat and wants to know why they were brought to this place? Firat says that Cihan opened fire on Miran and Hazar earlier that day. Cihan scoffs. Miran says to Azat, I saw your father running away after the truck driver was killed. We get a flash back of that very event. Did you do that papa? asks Azat. Cihan plays the offended card well telling Azat not to get involved and not to allow these two to twist the facts and get them to turn on each other.
Miran demands that Cihan stop being a coward and tell Azat the truth. Azat says, all I want to know is if you were there father? Cihan says nothing and walks away. Miran call to him, I forgive you Cihan Sadoglu, for my family, but know that this is the absolutely the, very, very, without a doubt, last time I do so. Cihan pulls his pistol and fires it into the ceiling. He takes the shell casing and gives to Azat, telling him to investigate, by believing the words of others, you question your own father. (Fusun did scold him earlier about shooting one of her men. Could it be that Cihan was actually protecting Miran and Hazar?). No Azat, says Cihan, your father is not a trader. After everyone else leaves, Miran tells the head henchie to find out more information about the trucker shooting. (QTH? I thought Miran already confirmed Cihan was there?).
Reyyan has managed to drag Azize up a flight of stairs leaving a blood streak a mile long. Azra comes out of her room and finds them. She moves into doctor-mode action to help her Tia Azize. Reyyan’s biggest concern continues to not allowing Azize to stay there so Miran won’t see what occurred. Azra demands a first aide kit and asks Azize who stabbed her? Azize says it was on the way over to the konak, it was Fusun.
In the Fusun waiting den, she is ticked off that Azize is late and most likely tricked her. She draws the proverbial line in the sand and says nothing will stop her from getting her daughter back.
Miran and Firat arrive back at the Hope(less) konak and find that the guards are missing and the door is wide open. (I guess Mahmut took them on a wild goose chase). Inside, we see that Ayise has done a good job cleaning up the blood from the tiles except for one spot, she kicks over a pot of ferns and cleverly lies, saying the cats knocked the pots over, Dilsah is visiting next door and Reyyan went on a walk with Azra. Suspicious Miran immediately calls Reyyan.
Azra, another strong woman who drives, is hauling butt down the road. Reyyan answers the call and tries to act like everything is okay. She is with Azra who wanted to see Midyat by night. She brushes him off, as Azra scolds her for not rendering first aide properly to Azize. Azize groan that she had to meet with Fusun. Azize ringing phone puts Reyyan into panic mode again because the guards have found Mahmut and Miran is trying to find out what Azize is doing.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #73
Part 4 of 4
Mahmut claims that he has been hanging around at Azize’s request in order to protect Miran. Miran is not believing a word and tells the almost teary, pouty, Mahmut (when did he go so soft?) to go away and tell Azize that he is not the old Miran and her games will not work with him anymore. He sends Mahmut away and calls Reyyan again. She does not answer. Firat tells him to call down. Miran says, I am going crazy! (Now you know how you have made us feel for 100+ episodes MeRan).
Azra and Reyyan arrive at the cabin with Azize looking pretty grey and telling Reyyan that she has to go or there will be even more tragedy. She has lost a lot of blood. Azra tries to get Reyyan to tell her why they cannot go to the hospital but they just argue and Azar decides she has to suture the wound or Azize will bleed out. In the meantime, Miran continues to call Reyyan and demands to know where she is so he can come get her. She tells him they have a car and will be home shortly. Reyyan wants to know how long it will take to stitch up Azize and will they just leave her there all night? (Reyyan is sure afraid of Miran).
Zehra brings a shocked looking Dilsah into the bedroom and has her sit down. Dilsah says she is glad she killed Azize. Zehra tells her not to say anything more, especially if it will harm Reyyan in anyway. Hazar comes in and see Dilsah crying. Zehra lies that Reyyan and Azra went out for walk so she brought Dilsah over so she wouldn’t be alone. Hazar sees Dilsah is crying. What is wrong? Zehra answers for her saying they were talking about the past and it made Dilsah sad. Dilsah nods in agreement.
Back at the cabin, Azra has managed to stitch up Azize without any drugs or anesthesia, using only the pretty impressive home first aide kit. Azra again wants to know why they cannot take Azize to a hospital? Reyyan still refuses to answer and both are startled by a knock on the door. Rey thinks it is Miran, we know it cannot possibly be as he would just break the door down. Reyyan answers the door, seemingly surprised at who it is. (Mahmut? Mahfuz?).
The episode ends with Fusun and her posse arriving at the Esma casa, disabling the guards and breaking down the door to the house.
Many thanks, VVS, for this excellent recap, complete with lots of clever remarks. I especially liked "back at casa Hope (less)" and "Miran says, I am going crazy! (Now you know how you have made us feel for 100+ episodes MeRan)."
I was surprised when Dilsah actually stabbed Azize, though we saw the knife a little before the actual stabbing, so it wasn't a total shock. Of course, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I totally understand Dilsah's feelings, and if I were on a jury, I'd probably vote to acquit her. On the other hand, Dilsah's actions prevented Azize from delivering Azra to Fusun and will thus prolong this dizi even further. Now that is a serious crime!
The episode made my head spin about the truck driver shooting. Both Miran and Firat make it clear that they think Cihan was shooting at Miran. But Azat asks his father, "Did you do that to my uncle, your brother?" Oops, suddenly the target has shifted from Miran to Hazar, and Cihan is able to say, "I would never fire at my brother." But earlier Fusun expresses her displeasure at Cihan for shooting one of her men. I thought that indicated that Cihan shot the truck driver, even though Miran assumes Cihan was shooting at him (Miran), and Azat muddies the issue further by asking his father whether he shot at Hazar. But VVS, you raise an intriguing possibility that Cihan was there to protect Miran and Hazar. That would account for why Cihan thinks his gun's bullet would not match the bullet that shot the truck driver. (And do we know whether the truck driver is still alive?)
I was somewhat puzzled by Zehra's warning Dilsah not to say anything more, especially anything that might harm Reyyan. How would anything Dilsah says harm Reyyan?
Wow, that must have been one super-duper First Aid Kit if it had everything Azra needed to clean, treat, and sew up Azize's rather ugly knife wound. Another example of telenovela Magical Medicine.
Thanks, VVS, for mentioning that at the end, Fusun and her posse arrive at the Esma Casa. I didn't realize that that was where they were.
Again, many thanks for this great recap.
Hi Juanita! Thank you for the terrific comments and questions. I was totally confused with the whole who shot the driver story. Like you, I initially thought Fusun meant that Cihan shot the driver (her man), but then I considered the possibility that Cihan did shoot the henchie who was going to shoot the driver? I just don’t understand why he would run off the way he did?
I don’t blame Dilsah for stabbing Azize and I was surprised she really did it. “Dilsah's actions prevented Azize from delivering Azra to Fusun and will thus prolong this dizi even further. Now that is a serious crime!” It sure is! Too funny Juanita.
I thought the episode was at least a little more exciting than the last few. I guess the next big reveal, after Azize miraculously recovers, is Miran and Hazar discovering the truth that she is indeed Grannie and Mommie to the two.
Great recap as usual VVS. Enjoyed the snarky bits. Thank you!
LOL Juanita, “On the other hand, Dilsah's actions prevented Azize from delivering Azra to Fusun and will thus prolong this dizi even further. Now that is a serious crime!”
I think novelera called it that Fusun would not believe Yaren’s confession.
“casa Hope (less)”… lol… that would be “Umutsuz Konağı” or maybe we should call it “şanssız”, meaning unlucky. Good ear, VVS, the Turkish word for boss is “patron”.
Juanita, in Friday’s ep it was said the trucker died before he could talk. Cihan was there but it is possible he didn’t shoot and just lurked. If not him, then whodunit? Having him take off like that made it seem like he did it. Funny that no one figured he’d be shooting at the trucker. They went straight to thinking he tried to kill Miran and/or Hazar. Was the bullet a bluff on Cihan’s part? Whatever Cihan did or didn’t do, he’s not admitting or denying anything to anyone, just to keep us guessing.
Rey is determined to keep the truth about Azize a secret at any cost. A big mistake. I think everyone knows except for Miran and Hazar. So there goes all that trust that Miran had for Rey and here comes another meltdown merry go round.
I don’t think Dilsah cares about being helpful to Reyyan. I think she has it in for her, too. Especially since Rey was desperately trying to save Azize.
I am curious to see who is at the cabin door.
VVS,thank you for every detail as this tale spins toward the finale.
Well, these folks love their guns . Dilsah however, grabbed a kitchen Knife to stab Azize. That's quick, cold revenge without the endless threats the other characters have been constant!y throwing around.
Gee, how many young Turks does Fus have on her posse ? Guy just broke down the door for Fus .
We end with ...Knock, knock , who's there?
Thank you dondi356! I was hoping you would have time to give us a Turkish lesson! I also appreciated your take on the who shot the driver situation. I agree that Reyyan keeping that secret is definitely going to cause a “merry go round” meltdown.
Knock, knock, who is there indeed, Susanlynn! I liked how the episode left this hanging. Who has the manners to knock? I was also surprised but rather impressed that Dilsah didn’t make threats and just plunged that knife in without a second thought.
I am curious to see where the storyline with Cihan is going.
VVS, you got it all and with great style. Also loved Hope(Less) Casa. Reyyan has made sure of that. Her behavior last night was unbelievable and completely out of character. I had momentarily forgotten that Azra is a doctor and couldn't believe they weren't going to take her to the hospital. I also missed that they arrived at the cabin and didn't know where they were treating Azize.
They've completely ruined Dilsah. Yep, she has plenty of reasons to hate Azize, but she's also been pretty hateful to Reyyan. I can't see how they're going to redeem her. She needs to be in a nuthouse for a while to see what they can do for her.
Also completely confused about Cihan and the guy who ran Miran off the road.
MeRan was in fine form last night. He didn't give Mahmoud a chance to explain his motive was to protect him. And he acted like the worst kind of abusive husband, completely upset that Reyyan wasn't sitting there at home when he decided to come home from his caper with Firat. How many episodes will we be treated to of Reyyan lying?
I can't keep track of who knows what. Cihan put a germ of doubt into Miran. Is it that he knows Reyyan knows Azize is Hazar's father and spitefully told Miran she had a secret?
I think Azat is getting more and more of an idea what a snake his father is.
Still completely sick of Fusun. And who wears spike heels when they apparently need a cane to get around? Wish she'd blot her lipstick. Of course she never smiles or you'd see the stains on her teeth.
Season 2 Episode 15 Part 1
Jimena visits the little shack of horrors. Romina has her knife at the ready and is ready to pounce; however, just as she makes her move Madrina comes up behind her and pulls her back. She pushes her into her room and goes to greet Jimena herself. Madrina tells Jimena she knows her husband and he is a very nice guy who is letting them stay there. She claims she lives in the cabin with her husband and son. Jimena asks to see Duvan but Madrina tells her he’s already left for school. Jimena ends up leaving but Madrina grabs her hand in a very creepy way telling it was nice to meet her. (I hope she wasn’t putting a silent curse on her or something)
Oscar is looking for Jimena but all his employee knows is that she left on horseback. They both assume she is with her sisters; she’s been doing that a lot lately.
Madrina calls Romina every kind of a fool and tells her to fight with her brain instead of brute force. Getting put in jail for murder won’t do any of them any good, there are easier ways to destroy someone than killing them.
Rosario is performing a new song and Muriel is watching her. The scene goes back and forth between shots of Muriel at the bar and Muriel in her room. She is thinking back to meeting Juan David and to watching him on the balcony as she was saying goodbye to the family. Rosario looks like she is uneasy with the look on her daughter’s face. Then we see Muriel get a phone call, it’s her dad. Yes, papa she says, I am ready to return but head’s up I am coming alone. Mama doesn’t want to return not even if you’ll kill her otherwise.
Gabriela arrives at Norma’s house for the ‘family meeting’ or a plot against her as she put it. The family all tell her that they are disappointed in her and they will not agree to put grandpa away. They remind her they had agreed on grandpa playing musical houses. Juan says Gabriela is breaking the rules and that’s unforgivable. Erik asks how can she do this? Leon piles on suggesting she is trying to get rid of him the first chance she gets. Gabriela simply states that dad is losing his memory, he’s become very aggressive, he has horrible nightmares and he screams all night long. You’ll see, she says. JD has compassion on his grandma, he walks over and takes her by the hands and says let’s go see him. He puts his arm around her and guides her upstairs. They find Martin looking like he’s sleeping but he’s wake. Gabriela is relieved his alert and asks if he’s okay, he says he is. She leaves and Martin reaches out his hand for JD, he laughs and says “I won’t change for anybody, Juanito.”
Muriel is sleeping, having nightmares about finding Rosario after she slit her wrist. She wakes up saying Mama and decides to call her dad. We don’t hear their conversation.
Sara and Andres are telling Gaby about Muriel’s visit. Sara says she really liked her she made a good impression on not just her but everyone. Gaby says she is surprised she could accomplish all that in one visit, imagine what she could do if she stayed longer. Andres says she sounds jealous, but he says it with a laugh. Gaby laughs too and says maybe I am. They all comment that it was a great day until what happened to grandpa. Gaby is running late and runs off to finish getting ready. Sara asks Andres how he feels about Muriel leaving and we get a montage of moments with Muriel and Andres together. Andres says he is going to miss her, it might sound weird but he got used to having her around in such a short time. She must be long gone by now.
Season 2 Episode 15 – Part 2
Muriel isn’t long gone, she’s still asleep. Rosario and Gunter wake her and ask why she is sleeping, she’s going to be late! Muriel says she couldn’t sleep all night and she isn’t going anywhere. She’s going to stay in San Marcos indefinitely. She and daddy worked it all out last night. Rosario isn’t thrilled but she doesn’t order her daughter to leave like last time. Dad agreed Muriel can stay and try to convince Rosario to come back. Rosario lets Muriel know it hurts her that she prefers her father.
JD is having breakfast with Mom and thinking about Muriel. She tells his mom he has an operation to do on a horse and it will take most of the day. He’s not hungry, he is going to go say goodbye to grandpa and then get going. JD asks grandpa how his night was and he says those birds finally let me have a night of peace, they didn’t caw once! Grandpa notices a different look on JD’s face and asks about it, JD demurs and asks if Martin needs anything. Martin needs Dominga because she always brings his coffee. JD can’t bring Dominga but he’ll get his grandpa coffee. It’s a deal, they hug on it and once again Martin comments on JD’s look calling him a sly fox and asking ‘What is her name?’ JD says grandpa has the same look. He leaves and Don Martin takes a swig from his flask! (LOL)
Rosario is complaining to Pancha about how Muriel’s decision is complicating her life. She’s letting her stay because despite everything she is her daughter and she loves her, but Muriel’s loyalty is to Samuel. He’s her idol and all she feels for her mom is pity or obligation. Pancha asks what Rosario is going to do now about Juan David since Muriel is staying. Rosario says that is what she is worried about (of course) it’s going to be risky now, but she will take her chances because nothing and no one will stop her from getting closer to JD. (I can think of a few things and one person that might)
Oscar is complaining to Jimena because he didn’t like the design team’s ideas in the meeting. He goes on and on until Jimena admits she went to the house. They argue and Oscar overreacts and basically tells her she is putting herself at risk going there. Jimena is confused, she thought they weren’t dangerous? Oscar backpedals a little and then Jimena tells him she only talked to a lady, the mother of the boy. This stops Oscar cold. He asks what did she say? Jimena tells him and he tries to get her to promise not to go back but she tells him not to tell her what to do.
Andres is having a discussion with one of his bandmates who is worried they don’t make enough money. Muriel comes in and Andres gets the news that she’s staying – at least for the moment it’s not her decision. He says but in the mean time we will keep having fun. Muriel isn’t sure what all she will be doing since she’s stay but she needs to go buy clothes since she only brought a couple days’ worth, does Andres know where there’s a store? Of course! His Aunt Jimena and Uncle Oscar own a store with stuff she will love, he will take her on the next band break.
Jimena is talking to Norma on the phone talking about Oscar’s bad mood. Norma is at home showing Dominga and another maid to grandpa’s room with his stuff. Jimena tells Norma about her argument with Oscar and how he fled mad and she doesn’t know if he’s coming back. Martin wants Dominga to stay but she can’t leave Gabriela alone.
Novelera....ha....Yes, good point . Who wears spike heels when they need a cane to get around ????? Fus is the devil who wears Prada. It made me think about my first boss who always wore high heels every day and ended up with bunion surgery on both feet. Fus also loves her huge fur coats and big earrings. Maybe the cane is just for Show and for hitting her minions. Im surprised that she doesn't have her strapping thugs carrying her around Cleopatra style.
Season 2 Episode 15 – Part 3
Oscar arrives at the shack and sees Duvan has a black eye, he asks if Romina did it and after finding out it happened at school he advises his son to defend himself well! Fighting isn’t good but sometimes you have to defend yourself. Romina comes out and tells Duvan to go play in the woods (it sounds too much like go play in traffic to me) Oscar goes to interrogate Romina and she does her best to make him sweat even suggesting she told Jimena everything! But Madrina intervenes again and tells the truth. Oscar agrees that it’s dangerous for them to keep living there. He needs to find them a house on the other side of town. Oscar warns Romina that if Jimena finds out the truth he will use it as an excuse to take custody of Duvan.
Speaking of Gabriela, she’s telling her woos to Demetrio who asks her if she is going to report them for kidnapping. She says the whole family is against her and she can’t stand up to all of them. She feels so alone. At the same time she says this, Don Martin is telling Quintina that Gabriela is never alone she’s always surrounded by low lives. He declares her a person who attracts never do’ wells. And the current never do well is charming Gabriela at lunch, promising never to leave her alone and declaring himself willing to do whatever to win over Sarita. Gabriela says to count on her help! (how this woman can possible say all this without having flashbacks to Norma and Fernando I will never know)
Gaby and Nino are chatting and Nino’s family is feeling better now. Gaby is impressed by all the care Nino takes with his family. Nino says it scares him it’s a huge responsibility and Gaby is sure Sara can help. They talk about the new car and taking a ride, and we see creepy Demetrio is STILL watching Gaby from afar. GO AWAY!
Gabriela enters the church and she sees Felix, she gives him a look but doesn’t say anything. Felix is thinking back to a confrontation between his dad and uncle where his uncle tried to intervene and stop his dad from mistreating him and Adele but when he threatened to go to the police, dad beat the crap out of him.
Oscar comes back to the house in the middle of the day claiming to feel bad. He tells the maid he needs nothing but rest, she leaves. He remembers Madrina saying there’s a black cloud over this house, what happens if your wife finds out?
Andres and Muriel are enjoying their day more, they have two hours between practices to go clothes shopping. They joke about whether or not two hours is long enough for a woman to shop.
Gunter is creepily spying on Rosario and she senses him and turns around. Rosario tells him from now on his duty is to watch Muriel. His plan backfired and now Muriel is his problem. Gunter tells her she went out with Andres. Gunter warns again there’s no way for Rosario to stay here and leave and Rosario tells him to abandon the ship if he thinks it’s sinking! (Please go!)
Felix is talking with Matis and it appears he told him about the memory. He says Uncle Pascal always defended him and Adela but he could never do anything. Matis comments that he always thought the brothers got along well, but Felix says appearances are deceiving. They were oil and water. Matis asks how did your dad used to punish you and Felix tells a horrible memory about a time his dead tied him and Adela to chairs and left them out in the hot sun all day! (These guy deserved death!) Matis is shocked, don’t you realize? Your father was murdered tied to a chair, what a coincidence, don’t you find it weird? Felix looks impacted.
And there we end.
There you have it. Short and sweet today, I have a busy day and am in a hurry. I hope there aren't too many typos I didn't have time to thoroughly proofread and a have a tendency of spelling the wrong word correctly and spell check doesn't pick up on it.
Adriana, I was thinking about your comment the other day about how Don Martin might actually need an evaluation and that might be valid! I still hate the way they went about it though if that's the case, it didn't have to be a near replica of the season 1 adventure. It didn't need to be the friend of Demetrio here who is running the facility where it was Fernando's cousin in season 1, etc etc. They reproduced the story line.
I am starting to really like the actor who plays Felix. He is really good at being hard to read!!! I still think he's evil at this point but 15 episodes in and he's given nothing away. He definitely doesn't seem like the good guy but he isn't definitively the bad guy either. He's tortured and he plays the turmoil well. The scene in the church - I couldn't put a descriptor to the look on his face! It wasn't sad exactly, or angry exactly but it was both sad and angry, upset but oddly calm! I like it!!!
I will say more later if I get a chance or maybe not until tomorrow. Gotta run again!
VVS...AWESOME...home-run!!

Loved the comments novelera and Halimacandy! Why does Fusun carry around that cane? Dilsah needs some professional help, everyone in this dizi does at this point! It is hard to just forgive Azize, no matter how many times she begs and pleads. This is definitely going to get worse I think for Azat as he does figure out what a snake Cihan really is. Does anyone really care about Yaren? I sure don’t.
Hercai2: #74 - p 1 of 3
As the episode opens, Fusun has had her goons break in to Esma's house. Esma tells her that if Firat finds out that she broke in like this, he'd be furious. Fusun couldn't care less what Firat might think. She just wants to know where Azize is. Esma tells her she doesn't know. Fusun doesn't believe her. Esma surreptitiously tries to phone Azize, but of course she gets no answer. Fusun finally orders her goons to find Azize and bring her to Esma's. She adds, "If you can't find her, you know what to do." (They may know, but I don't have a clue.)
The person who knocked at the cabin door at the end of the last episode turns out to be Mahfouz. He tells Reyyan that Asiye told him Reyyan needed help. Reyyan thanks him but denies that she needs help. He tells her he knows what happened to Azize. Azize regains consciousness, sees Mahfouz, and asks who he is. Reyyan replies, "No one," but Mahfouz tells Azize that he's Reyyan's biological father. Reyyan receives another call from Miran. She doesn't know what to do.
Miran is upset. He remembers Cihan's words: "Ask your wife what she's hiding from you." Miran tries to convince himself that Cihan is simply trying to confuse him.
Azat, sitting in his car, also remembers the scene between his father and Miran, and Miran's saying to Cihan, "Give me one reason not to kill you" as he points his gun at Cihan's head. The troubled Azat thinks of calling Gonul. He takes out his phone, brings up her number, but then puts the phone away without calling. Seconds later, the phone rings. Yup, it's Gonul. Azat has a happy look on his face for the first time in quite a while.
Hazar and Dilsah run into Miran and Firat outside the SAD konak. Firat gets a call. He doesn't explain to Miran and the others, he just says he has to leave. Miran and Dilsah walk off together, with Miran's arm around Dilsah. Hazar looks on happily and then goes into the konak.
Reyyan and Azra have apparently left Azize in the cabin with Mahfouz and are now walking near the SAD konak. Reyyan explains to Azra that Miran hates Azize. They need to hide from him what happened between Dilsah and Azize for a while, though Reyyan doesn't explain why. Azra remembers Miran saying that Azize locked Dilsah away for years. Suddenly, Reyyan and Azra run into Miran and Dilsah walking on the street. Miran tells Reyyan she should never again go out without someone to protect her, either him or a guard. Azra tells Miran, "It's not Reyyan's fault. I insisted." Miran replies that he gets very nervous when it's a question of his wife. He glances at Reyyan's boots and notices that they are muddy. This is not in keeping with Reyyan's claim that she was simply showing Azra around the town. Dilsah says she's tired and wants to go to bed. Azra accompanies her to her room.
Reyyan too claims she wants to go inside. Miran again recalls Cihan's "Ask your wife. Ask her what she's hiding from you." Reyyan is very nervous. She prays that Miran doesn't find out (about Dilsah stabbing Azize? About Azize really being his abuela?) Miran asks Reyyan whether she's hiding things from him. Like what? Reyyan asks. "I don't know," replies Miran. He finally just asks her to avoid doing anything dangerous.
Meanwhile, Azat and Gonul have met at the hotel. Gonul tells him that Yaren and Harun spent the night here the night before he died. One of the hotel employees told Gonul that they had been fighting. "Also, Yaren has been acting very strangely, as if she may know who killed Harun. And Yaren said Harun left the hotel alone. But they really left together." Gonul adds, "Fusun may have learned what I'm telling you now. I feel like she's up to something, but I don't know what." Azat thanks her for telling him this, and he leaves.
Hercai2: #74 - p 2 of 3
Dilsah and Azra are in the kitchen having tea. The stuttering cook complains to Asiye about still having pain in spite of having taken a painkiller. "It feels as if I've been stabbed," he says. A startled Dilsah knocks over the glass of tea, breaking the glass.
Yaren is putting on makeup. Cihan questions whether this is appropriate, given that her husband has just died. "I know," replies Yaren, "I killed him." Both Cihan and Handan try to stop her from saying this. Yaren asks Cihan whether she ever taught her how to love, how to cry, how to grieve. She says she has always been afraid. She was afraid of Harun, and now she's afraid of Fusun. Azat comes in in the midst of this conversation. What he hears makes him ask Cihan whether he killed Harun. Cihan says yes, he killed Harun, and now Azat can call the police and turn him in. Handan insists that Azat would never do that. Azat asks Cihan, "Why did you do this to yourself and your family. I can't even look you in the face." Cihan tells Azat, "If you're ashamed of me, I'm sorry. But we don't get to choose our fathers." Azat leaves. Cihan hugs Yaren.
At Esma's house, Fusun is on the phone. "Search everywhere. You have to find Azize before dawn or there will be hell to pay." Firat enters the house and confronts Fusun. "So you've decided to invade my mother's house, Sra. Fusun." He admits that his mother called him, as well she should. Fusun's men shot at Firat's men and broke down the doors. Fusun tells him that she has nothing against him or his mother. She's looking for Azize. "Azize has something of mine, and I want it back. If need be, I'll tear her heart out to get it." Firat says they're all sorry about Harun's death, but tearing Azize's heart out won't bring him back. "No," says Fusun, "but it's my daughter I am after. The daughter that Azize took from me many years ago. Gunes. Now do you see why I'm searching for that woman?"
Azra covers Dilsah, who is lying asleep in bed. She wants to know what Dilsah is hiding.
Reyyan is talking to Mahfouz on the phone when Miran comes in. Of course, Miran wants to know who she was talking to, and of course, she tells him it was her mother. He wants to know why she won't look him in the eyes. She tells him one lie after another. Of course, since she's acting so absurd, he's being reasonable and understanding. She offers to tell him something good: "Umut will be sleeping with us soon." [Since she looks about 6 months pregnant, it would NOT be a good thing for Umut to make an appearance soon.] Miran can't think of anything good to offer to the discussion. However, a little later Reyyan does seem about to tell him something. But, of course, Miran stops her, saying "No, let's not talk." He doesn't want to think about their problems, their worries. He says he wants to forget everything. Reyyan bursts into tears. "Is it hormones?" he asks.
We see some of Fusun's goons out looking for Azize. They don't succeed. Fusun looks very frustrated.
At the cabin, Azize wakes up. She calls for Miran. Mahfouz comes. She asks where she is. He tells her that she's in Reyyan's cabin, and that Reyyan brought her there. Azize then asks why Mahfouz is helping her now, when for years he tried to kill her. Mahfouz tells her that now he's keeping her alive for Reyyan. Azize then says she has to leave, even if she dies, and she pleads with him to help her. He replies that it's impossible--he promised Reyyan. Azize says she's asking him as a mother. "You're suffering too, for your daughter. That's why I know you understand. You have to help me. I need to leave. Help me."
Hercai2: #74 - p 3 of 3
ReyMir are asleep in bed. Miran wakes up, again remembering Cihan's "Ask your wife." He turns toward the sleeping Reyyan and touches her. "Are you hiding something from me, Reyyan?" He kisses her. He gets up. A sleepy Reyyan asks where he's going. "I can't sleep, he says. He tells her to continue sleeping.
Fusun is thinking about Gunes. Azize is walking very slowly and gingerly out of the cabin. Mahfouz is at the door watching her.
Miran comes back to bed. A sleepy Reyyan tells him she loves him. He gets up again. She offers to go with him, saying there's something she wants to tell him. Though he's been obsessing throughout the episode about what she's hiding from him, he apparently decides he'd rather obsess a little longer. He says he'll do what he needs to do and then come back to her. (Sigh)
Azra tells Reyyan she's tired of hiding things. First there was the truck "accident," and then Azize is stabbed. "Can you explain any of this?" she asks Reyyan. "What are you hiding? What you did was to help an older woman. What's so terrible about that?" Reyyan still is not forthcoming, so Azra says, "When Miran gets back, I'll ask him, and I'll ask him what's wrong with helping an older woman." Reyyan asks Azra whether she's threatening her. Azra tells her, "I need to know if the people with my mother are good or bad. My mother is the most important thing for me." Reyyan finally says, "Azize has a lot of bad stuff in her past. You think Azize is a saint. What sort of saint would separate and mother and a child? The person who locked up your mother was Azize. You think your mother was sick. She wasn't." Azra doesn't believe her mother would lie to her. She then catches sight of Dilsah near the top of the stairs. Dilsah sees Azra and Reyyan together and turns back up the stairs. Azra goes after her, calling "Don't go, mama. I want to talk to you."
The scene changes to Dilsah's room. Azra asks, "Did Tia Azize lock you up?" Dilsah nods yes. "Did you stab her?" Dilsah replies, " So she couldn't get near my children." Dilsah then turns to Reyyan. "It's all your fault. Go away!"
Miran returns with one other person to the scene of the truck driver's shooting. He tells the guy he wants everything searched carefully. Soon afterward, the guy calls out that he's found some signs of blood. Miran realizes that someone else was hurt here. He remembers Cihan handing a bullet to Azat and asking him to compare that one with the one found at the shooting scene. Miran then comes upon a cellphone hidden under some debris. "We'll see what's in here," he says, as the episode ends.
Thank you Juanita for a fine recap! I’m in the midst of a series of long work days, so it’s hard for me to respond as I’d like. So this will be short and sweet, lol. The “SAD konak” is definitely a downer, and so are most of these people! I don’t like crazy, as in Dilsah and Yaren. This dizi has used that storyline way too much! Also the “it’s all your fault, Reyyan” is completely overdone! As hateful, vengeful and mean that Azize has been, at least she’s no longer making excuses for it. She “owns” it which is more than I can say for just about everyone else in this story!
Mahfouz continues to rock like a ROCKSTAR!
Miran needs to just ask Reyyan straight out what the deal is, and tell her what Cihan said to him! Cihan and Handan need to take Yaren straight to a psychiatrist and stop the denial! The girl is LOCO! Fusun need to trip in those heels, over her cane, and bump that obnoxious head of hers HARD on those 1000 + yr old sidewalks they have in Midyat! Maybe then she’ll mourn her son for once, or better yet, forget who she is!
These people are BEYOND EXHAUSTING! Still I watch…..sigh……
Thank you too, VVS! AWESOME recap! Thanks again Juanita!
Thank you Darcy! Your recap was fantastic! So much going on! The $#!% is about to hit the fan, JD and Muriel obviously like each other. How this will play out is something I’m definitely looking forward too! The twins were actually a little likable in last nights episode partying with Don Martin…..Gabriela is alone——-as she should be. But what kinda irritated me most about last nights episode is that Oscar was ready to spill his guts, and it went totally south. Now Jimena will find out the hard way….
Sorry, working so I can’t expand on all my thoughts. Your recaps are the BEST! Thanks again!
Your recaps are always stellar Juanita and this one was even more so! I marvel at your ability to tell the story, translate the dialogue and keep the recap so pithy! It is excellent!
I was glad to see Mahfuz at the door ready to help Reyyan. If anyone needs forgiveness and a second chance it is certainly him. I hope Reyyan can move past his mistakes from the past and at least be more civil to him.
I sure hope Mahmut was outside the cabin waiting for Azize, she looked terrible.
I got a kick out of all the woman covering for each other keeping Miran dazed and confused.
“She prays that Miran doesn't find out (about Dilsah stabbing Azize? About Azize really being his abuela?)” I was confused about this as well. I think she meant the stabbing because I got the impression when ReyMir were talking in bed, Reyyan almost told him the truth about Azize being is grannie. Miran cut her off and said they shouldn’t talk anymore.
Dilsah and Yaren both need the manicomio for a while. I am not sure how Reyyan is going to fix any of this. Azra is also in for some big surprises regarding Azize and Fusun.
It is always great to see any response in the comments from you carmella! Thanks for taking a few minutes to chime in with your funny observations.
Not sure where all of this is going, but I am still enjoying the ride. Thank you so much Juanita!
JUANITA...MAGICAL HANDS AND FINGERS....!! THANK YOU FOR THIS RECAP...
YES ..YOU PUT -IN-THE-WORK'....!!.....because..this was a MUCH better written episode...[things made sense...sort of ]..
...as I understand it.surprise!!!!...we are in the THIRD/3RD..yeah I said it !!Third season. ...that the writers and Covid... DESTROYED!!!!!
Team: Dilsah and her Co-wife: Zehranni!!...the sister wives are holding it down.!!!!
Lady McBeth Yaren and momma LADY-B'..yes..... Cihan and Handan that's your baby Frankenstein monster.......SHADES of Betty Davis 's Baby June... awesome!! loved!!the makeup was a nice touch!!
Fusun... how the heck is Azra going to accept you.....AZIZE destroyed families. Again!!!!!!!!
Thanks very much, carmella, VVS, and Halimacandy, for your great comments.
Carmella, I always enjoy your comments, and I usually agree with you. Certainly that's true this time! I too have limited patience for crazy, and as a result, I have no sympathy with Yaren and rather little with Dilsah. And Dilsah's blaming Reyyan for everything that's happened drove me up a wall. Also, you make a great case for Azize as perhaps ultimately more admirable than many if not most of the other characters. As for Cihan and Handan, I think they're at least as worried about their image as they are about their very troubled daughter. Poor Azat, being a member of that family!
VVS, thanks very much for your appreciative remarks about the recap. I too was happy to see it was Mahfouz at the door, ready to help Reyyan. He's been one of my favorite characters for quite a while, though not of course at first. Will Reyyan get past her anger/resentment and accept him? Given what we've seen of her mercurial tendencies, I'd say it depends on the day. And when I saw Azize very slowly exit from the cabin, I too wondered whether Mahmoud would be there to drive her. I can't imagine she'd get very far without him, though with telenovela Magical Medicine, one never knows.
Halimacandy, you raise a very good point about how Azra will accept Fusun as her mother. Frankly, I rather doubt that she will. Or "would," since it's not clear whether she'll be faced with that decision.
Juanita, thank you giving us every detail of every threat and lie.
I am confused . If Azize had Dilsah imprisoned and Dilsah raised Azar since she was a baby, wasn't Azar imprisoned, too ? How could she not realize they were imprisoned as she grew up ? I guess I just have not suspended my disbelief high enough for any of this story to make sense to me.
What we have here is a failure to communicate. I think that is a line from.a famous movie..maybe " Cool Hand Luke. "
I have had enough of the " I am going to kill\ shoot you\him\her\them\me. " Fusan put her own nasty spin on it with " I am going to cut out her heart. " uff Dilsah cut to the chase and didn't say one word before she stabbed Azz.
I have looked for galans in this show , and I have now set my hopes on Mafouz. However, I have been disappointed many times looking for a hero here. One of the scenes that moved me the most was when Mafouz embraced Rey while hand cuffed on his way to jail.
The twins seem to enjoy having Don Martin around. They get to dancing and drinking, while Norma and Juan watch in amusement (for now), even joining the celebration with a drink. In the meantime Gabriela is home, having lunch all alone. As she fully deserves, as Carmella very well put it. Bohoo…
Andres has brought Muriel to his aunt Jimena’s boutique. Muriel needs a new wardrobe, since she’s going to stick around town for a while. Andres chats with Jimena for a bit, tells her that Muriel is Rosario’s daughter with her famous surgeon husband. But then he has to go because his break is over and Muriel isn’t done shopping. He doesn’t want to leave her alone with all her bags of clothes, but Jimena promises to give her a lift when they’re done.
When Andres leaves Jimena talks to Muriel, too, she seems to like her just as much as the rest of the family. And Muriel loves the shop!
Jimena has to step out for a bit, because Oscar is calling her on the landline (he was afraid she won’t answer on her cell. He needs her to get home, they need to talk!) When she gets back to Muriel, Jimena realizes that the girl is gone.
Muriel inexplicably decided to leave with all her shopping bags, on foot, in the crime infested small town that everyone should want to depart from not move to. I hope something bad doesn’t happen to her…
JD is leaving the vet clinic about the same time… and, yes, he runs into Muriel. As in, he actually runs her down with his car. He finds her unconscious, face down in the dirt, her bags scattered around and takes her into his arms and into the car. He manages to avoid someone stealing her bags (there is a bit of a crowd forming) and he drives away with her.
At the same time the accident is happening Rosario is waking up startled from a nightmare. One must wonder if this is her mother instinct, because Muriel is in danger, or her woman instinct, because this is the beginning of the end for her and JD ever becoming something more than an intoxicated romp in satin sheets.
JD calls the hospital from his car, telling them that he’s bringing in a lady that he ran over with his car. In the meantime Muriel wakes up and realizes who he is. It looks like JD is only now recognizing who he almost killed, too. She asks him to stop the car, she wants to get down, she’s afraid she’s going to get him into trouble because of the accident. He’s like absolutely not, you need to see a doctor. Her back hurts a lot, she has to turn to a more comfortable position, which has her with her head in his lap. The moment is kind of electric, which makes me want to:
1. Totally steal this scene for my next book
2. Root for these crazy kids to be endgame
Gaby has taken Nino to the house. He meets Sarita, who likes him enough to offer him a job, especially after she finds out he has been raised by his grandpa and has been taken care of two orphan kids, too. Nino says no several times, doesn’t think he has the skills to work in a ranch, but Gaby insists and Sarita then asks him to try the job for a couple of weeks before making a final decision. Nino finally accepts… when will he have the time for his criminal activities now?
Jimena has gotten home and finds Oscar in their bedroom. He looks really bad, says he has to tell her something important, one of his very well kept secrets. Jimena is getting worried (she should), especially when he starts by saying how much he loves her and how happy she’s made him and how he can’t imagine his life without her. Then he starts talking about their desire to have a child and how that couldn’t be possible for them. Jimena is surprised he’s still thinking about this and Oscar wants to continue his confession, but Jimena gets a phone call!!
It’s Andres, calling to ask about Muriel. Gunther has noticed that she’s not back home and she’s not answering her phone, either, so he went to ask Andres about her. But Jimena has no clue where she is, either. Her curiosity to track down the girl ruins the moment for Oscar, who was really trying to confess. Jimena calls Muriel’s phone, the shop assistant at the boutique answers, Muriel forgot her phone there.
JD and Muriel have arrived at the hospital. The doctor says they need to run some tests to see how hurt she truly is. Then he asks JD to talk to her and convince her to spend the night.
Muriel is reluctant to do so because she is afraid of her mother’s reaction and how she might want to cause trouble for JD (yeah, but not the kind Muriel is dreading). JD doesn’t want to run away from his responsibility, helping him means allowing him to be accountable for his actions. He finally agrees to let Muriel handle the situation and she calls Gunther, asking him for a big favor.
The twins and grandpa plan to drink the night away, but Norma puts a stop to the party (or so she thinks); she manages to put Don M. to bed, but the twins steal a bottle of whiskey and get drunk enough to get into a fight with some of the ranch workers. Quintina has to interfere before the brawl turns into a full blown fight, tells the twins this is not the way to prove to the workers they are the owner’s sons. As usual, the twins couldn’t care less about some very good advice.
Realizing that JD is not home yet, Norma calls him. He tells her everything that has happened. Norma wants to go to the hospital, but first she confides to Juan that JD, their “never been in trouble” son, has hit Rosario Montes’ daughter with his car. As one would expect, Juan is the one to go to the hospital, after asking Quintina to keep an eye on Norma, who is not feeling well. Poor Quintina, these Reyes kids getting into more trouble than she can handle for a night.
Gunther has told Rosario that Muriel is already home, sleeping in her bed. Rosario is surprised her daughter didn’t come see her show, as she does every night, but seems to believe him, even as she has a bad feeling about it. When Andres innocently comes to ask about Muriel, though, Rosario realizes that Gunther has been lying to her. She finds him packing an overnight bag for Muriel, so Gunther has to tell her the truth: her daughter has been hit by a car and is spending the night in the hospital. Rosario looks genuinely worried, she runs to the hospital.
But the first to get there is Juan. When he sees him, JD seems scared at first. Juan asks to know what happened exactly. Then they go see Muriel and the visit is very nice, all things considered. Juan even smiles several times, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him do that for someone other than Norma.
Rosario arrives at the hospital asking about her daughter. One of the nurses tells her the driver who hit Muriel was Juan Reyes (technically true). Rosario is getting mad and this only gets worse when she sees Juan. She starts accusing him of wanting to hurt her daughter to spite her and Juan keeps quiet, probably thinking about taking the fall for his son. But JD arrives just then to say that he was the one driving the car who hit Muriel. This turns Rosario speechless, and when the doctor also arrives, she willingly goes with him.
Later the doc comes to see the Reyes men to tell them that both mother and daughter are doing better now. Juan and JD go to Muriel’s room, where Rosario is also waiting. Now that she knows that JD is to blame for the accident, she has changed her tune, she’s all about forgiving and not making a big deal about the whole thing. She’s all smiles and cumbaya, even saying that there is no need for JD or Juan to cover the medical costs. Juan seems to do an internal analysis of the whole thing (like he usually does). Muriel, nice and quiet in her bed, keeps gazing at JD, smiling and looking smitten. And JD… talk about being between a rock and a hard place, am I right?
I actually liked this episode quite a lot, makes me see a potential in JD and Muriel for the first time. I was glad we got a break from the whole who killed the teacher mystery. Whoever did it, they deserve a medal. Also happy we were spared of more screen time from Gabriela, who has been turned into the exact same character she was 20 years ago. Very disappointing, sad they couldn't think of something better to do with her.
That being said, I do get her frustration of taking care of an aging parent. Especially someone as difficult as Don M. I don't agree with her tactics, but the others should carry some of the burden, too, like they so willingly plan to.
My dad has been the primary caregiver for my mid 80's grandpa for the last 5 years or so. It all changed a few montsh ago when dad's health started to deteriorate, too. Mom can't commit to taking care of two ill men and work on the side, so we had to take my grandpa to a residential facility for elderly people (or whatever they are called). My dad feels sick about it, but it was the only viable option. He's still taking care of him (his house, his finances and the rest) but he doesn't have to do the day to day stuff anymore.
Oh, and about last night's episode, could creepy Demetrio be somehow involved in Franco's disappearance? Why else is he so interested in Gaby if not?
You are COMPLETELY right Adriana! Between a rock and a hard place is exactly where JD is, but the actual meaning of the saying states that you have to choose between two equally “unpleasant” courses of action. Rosario, sexy, wanton, selfish spider that she is, was an unpleasant choice from the door for JD. JD just had no idea cause the web she spun was too provocative for his innocent and inebriated self. Muriel, otoh, could or couldn’t be an unpleasant choice, but that solely depends on how JD handles this! I hope he’s up for it! When they do fall in love, I hope power of their young love can withstand it. No way Rosario is going to take this well!
Love your snark and humor! Your recap kept a big ole smile on my face! Full of wit! Hopefully I can comment further, but right now duty calls!
Thank you so much again Adriana! Loved it!!
Darcy and Adriana, thank you for the recaps! I finally was able to get caught up in the episodes of this TN and I have enjoyed it so far. Darcy, your 20 year “bring us up to date” was very helpful for me as I didn’t watch the first season. Last night, I did find that Peacock has an abbreviated version of the Season 1 and I started to watch it. I agree that Gabriella is just as awful now as she was back then and even wears the same ugly shawl/poncho. The sisters have sure aged beautifully and Sarita was sort of a jerk back in the day. Totally surprised that it was Jimena who married Oscar first! I think I will keep watching when I can to get the back story and not break any Caray rules by asking too many questions.
In the meantime, I think the twins are hilarious (although a bit scary too) and I hope grandpa does well with Norma and Juan. I read a couple of comments about the actor who plays Juan, but I like him a lot! I use the subtitles to help understand what he says because like William Levy, he is a bit of a mumbler. I have only seen Michael Brown in one other TN (the one with Angelic B) and he was way cute back in the day! Like you all, I hope Franco returns quickly.
I like all shirtless boys, as a distraction from my long work day of course. 😊 The Madrina and Duval’s mom are strange to say the least.
I didn’t want to continue lurking and certainly wanted to thank both of you for providing the terrific recaps! I appreciate it!
Adriana, fantastic, and so full of your wonderful sense of humor! Thank you!
I couldn't figure out why Muriel left the shop either, it made no sense...and who called the ranch asking for Juan David? Quintana told whoever it was that he was at the vet clinic but it seems unlikely that it was her because how would she know where the clinic was? It would explain why she left though if it was if she wanted to go see him. I was thinking it was Rosario but she was asleep.
When JD hit Muriel I couldn't help but the about Desalmada and how Rafael punched Fernanda at their first meet. This is second meet not first but some of these writers have violent ideas about love! Lol
I kind of hate Oscar ever since he threatened Romina with taking Duvan IF Jimena finds out, it just drives home how selfish he is. He believes his son's welfare is at risk but he isn't going to do anything unless he gets burned. Then again he did almost tell Jimena himself but that seems to be more about his own discomfort than his concern for Duvan.
'Oh, and about last night's episode, could creepy Demetrio be somehow involved in Franco's disappearance? Why else is he so interested in Gaby if not?' I think this is a very good theory! I have had similar thoughts wondering if he got Franco out of the way so he could pursue Sarita, but his obsession seems to be with Gaby and he is only giving lip service to the idea he is interested in Sarita.
Just like with Andrea, I love that JD was upfront and honest about everything. Even with the hospital on the phone! 'I bringing this woman that I hit with my car' he doesn't lie, he doesn't try to hide or keep secrets from mom and dad, he takes responsibility! Those devil twins could learn from him and their cousin Andres!
What a splendid recap, Juanita! Thanks so much.
Frustrating plot, let me count the ways. Reyyan finally looks like she's ready to tell Miran about Azize, and he stops her! They've made Reyyan stupid. Does she really think Miran is going to walk out on her because she saved Azize's life? They're supposed to be Muslims. Wouldn't saving a life, even of your enemy, be something you'd be required to do? And if her main motivation is protecting Miran from knowing about his mother's stabbing Azize, wouldn't he need to know how nuts she is?
Azize says that Mahfuz tried for years to kill her? Huh? Did I miss something?
Reyyan has gotten the mother-in-law from hell. I can't see how they're going to redeem Dilsah from her behavior toward Reyyan.
Why does Cihan protect Yaren from her own brother? It's just ridiculous his telling Azat HE killed Harun. Azat is fed up with Yaren's awfulness, especially toward Reyyan, but I doubt he'd hand her over to the police. Actually, what police? The only ones we seem to see are fake ones.
Thanks again, Juanita, for a valiant attempt to spin gold from straw!
I've been reading the excellent recaps by Darcy and Adriana Noel. Thanks! I sort of want to know what's happening. But I haven't had time to watch more than one novela at a time. And I'm watching and recapping once a week for Hercai.
I found Gunter and those twins SUCH a turnoff. I know it's annoying when someone posts something negative about a novela others are enjoying. But I just wanted to put in my two cents and to thank you both for your recaps.
OT...Hi , Cher Adriana ,I understand what your dad is dealing with .Hub and I took care of our kids, then our parents, and then our grandkids who never had babysitters other than us. . You do whatever you can for your family , but sometimes you need help.
I am not watching Pasion, but when I see the promos , all I can think of is Hats and Hair.
(((Adriana))) I will pray for your dad!
VVS - Thank you! I am so glad you're joining us! Pasion de Gavilanes was the first novela I ever watched and it was during it's original airing so 20 years old. I recently re-watched a couple episodes myself and it was very interesting to me because when I first watched I didn't understand Spanish and was 100% dependent on the subtitles, now watching and understanding I noticed a few things I never picked up on before. I am also liking Mario's (Juan's) performance more and more everyday! I loved the scene with Muriel last night, it was very heartwarming the way he was with her.
Novelera, I can't speak for everyone of course, but I enjoy your input and it doesn't bother me in the least if you share negative thoughts. I also agree with you about Gunter - total creep, I can hardly stand looking at him! And the devil twins although I do think they are probably redeemable. A lot of the other characters are also getting more interesting and intriguing as the story goes on. It started slow but hopefully it's finding its footing.
Darcy: Kudos to you for correctly using it's and its in the same sentence! Half the people who send me emails can't get this right. I shudder at all the possessives in there when they should just be plain old plurals. I had this stuff inserted in my cranium by my splendid 8th grade English teacher. He had us diagramming sentences a lot. I loved it, but most of the students groaned.
Susanlynn, loved "hats and hair".
I remember trying to explain to our Dr. Carlos here at Caray the difference between lie and lay , but he never seemed to get it.
Many thanks, Susanlynn and novelera, for your insightful comments and questions.
Susanlynn, good question about how Dilsah and Azra could have been confined for years without Azra noticing. I'm not at all sure, but I have a vague memory of Azize giving Dilsah her "daughter" in part to comfort her for the loss of Miran and in part for agreeing to not go out or make it known that she, Dilsah, is still alive. In other words, Dilsah was essentially confined, but Azra was not. I think the notion that Dilsah was ill may have come about to make her not going anywhere more plausible to Azra. As for galans, I too have tried to find them in this dizi. I have no enthusiasm for Miran. I like Azat, but he doesn't seem to have the galan spark. Ditto Firat, and at least in my view, Firat doesn't look the part. My hopes were raised when Aslan appeared. Oops. I guess that leaves Mahfouz. I really like him. I guess we'll have to see whether 1) he survives, and 2) he acts like a galan (whatever that means).
Novelera, as is so often the case, you and I seem to be on the same wavelength. I too am immensely frustrated with so much about this dizi, and in last night's episode, Miran's deflecting Reyyan's attempt to talk took the frustration prize. I am not sure what she was going to say to him. For weeks, now, she seems to be doing all she can to prevent his finding out that he does indeed have Azize's blood flowing in his veins. So perhaps that was what she was going to tell him. I think it's clear that that's what Cihan had in mind when he told Miran to "Ask your wife what she's been hiding from you." And I'm glad you too were puzzled by Mahfouz's conversation with Azize. It's true that Mahfouz was working with Aslan against Azize, but that was relatively recent and it didn't result in attempts on her life. As for Dilsah's redemption, I don't think it would be all that difficult. Except for her stabbing Azize, she doesn't seem to have done anything evil (and I don't really see what she did to Azize as all that evil). It's possible that if she can be helped to understand more accurately the people in her life, she will have a change of heart. Perhaps.
Season 2, Epi 75
Part I
Miran and his men continue their investigation. His guys follow a woman to a house which turns out to be empty…but they retrieved pictures which Miran found disturbing…but what doesn’t bug him. At home, there’s tension among the women…Azra declines tea with Reyan …causing Dislah to smash dishes to the floor She even gives Reyan the “talk to the hand” gesture…not wanting to discuss anything with her (guess Miran got his temperament from her).
Cihan is lounging when Azat comes to escort him to the authorities…”everyone has to pay for their actions…right dad”. Cihan tells him to wait downstairs. Handan panics but Cihan says he’s ready….and she should hold thing down. He leaves her sobbing.
Fusun arrives at Hope House asking Dislah’s permission to enter. She takes no response as a yes and makes her way up the steps. Fusun notices Dislah’s unease and tells her she’s not the enemy…it’s Azize…she’s the one who’s stolen children from both of them. She’s come to speak with Reyan who doesn’t seem to know how bad Azize quips Fusun. This get’s Dislah’s attention but Fusun leaves with no real leads so she calls Reyan …who’s at the love shack with Azra...checking on Azize. Fusun advises Reyan to give up the goods with her usual threats to family.
Fusun runs into Nasuf who immediately wants to know what she’s done with Azize. She mocks him and Azize’s relationship, threatens Hazar and takes off. Inside the love shack, Reyan yells at Mahfuz for letting Azize leave in her condition. He tries to calm her while Azra goes outside to make a call. Mahfuz insists he couldn’t stop her …Azize is doing what she needs to do protect them. Reyan is tired…so tired she tells Mahfuz that perhaps he was right…maybe she shouldn’t have been born. Don’t say that he says. He hugs her and asks her forgiveness. He’s so sorry.
Firat (Zeynep is listening nearby) catches Azize on her cell and implores her to return Fusun’s daughter before she unleashes her wrath. Azize says she can’t …explaining that Fusun didn’t want to give up the Aslanbey money and name so she didn’t marry Azra’s dad. Instead she put Azra in an orphan. Azize doesn’t want to hurt Azra with that nugget of truth. Firat doesn’t care…it’s not her problem to solve. But there’s more…she’s worried about what Miran will think when he finds out…will he thinks it was just another part of her twisted plan. But don’t worry…she will fix everything now. Do it fast advises Firat.
Firat goes over to Zeynep and request copies of her ID for business purposes. Upon inspection….he sees today is her birthday. If he had know….they could have celebrated he says. Miran comes up to speak with Firat so Zeynep goes back to work nearby and watches. Firat notices that Miran looks bothered…what else is new. Miran asks if there’s anything Firat needs to tell him...like what Firat responds…confused. Like this says Miran....handing him the pics. Firat looks at t them and realizes he’s been busted and tries to explain. Miran barely lets him get a word in…he’s all worked up that the guy he thought was dead is actually alive and well per the pics. “what the hell is going on….everyone is hiding something” says Miran.

Part 2
With the help of Mahmut….Azize limps inside the Aslanbey mansion…calling for Fusun…who’s just returning home herself. Fusun takes note of Azize’s battered state and gloats. Azize tries to get her to listen before she does anything but it doesn’t appear to work. Azize didn’t keep her word so Fusun makes a phone call to Nasuf. She thanks him for sending Azize to her but it’s too late….for all of them. Now they will learn the real Fusun Aslanbey. Just like she her daughter was taken…they will miss their son she declares. “Hazar” whisper’s Azize.
And at this precise moment…Hazar is conducting business but unbeknown to him…he’s being watched by Fusun’s goon. As weak as she is….Azize threatens Fusun not to touch Hazar or she will take the info regarding her daughter to the grave. “Don’t die yet” taunts Fusun. Her man has Hazar in his sight. Hazar for her daughter says Fusun. In great pain…and bleeding….Azize pleads for her not to do anything to Hazar then she faints in Mahmut’s arms. Fusun calls for a doctor. Azize is carried out of the mansion. Fusun decides to call her man off for now. The ever faithful Mahmut updates Nasuf.
Miran goes to see Hazar on the job site to discuss the accident. He wants to know if Hazar has info he’s not shared with him. Of course not says Hazar. MEran whines...things are being kept from him..he can’t fight what he can’t see. “I feel so weak and alone” he whines. “That’s not true…I’m here”…says Hazar.
Azat and Cihan arrive at the police station. “You know what I see when I look at you” says Cihan….”how strong you are son”. “you don’t bother anyone....nor are you in conflict with anyone..except for yourself” continues Cihan. He looks at Azat with pride telling him “you only want justice”. Cihan tells him how happy he is with him and is ready to turn himself in when Yaren comes running up begging dad not to do it. She confesses to Azat that she killed Harun….their dad is just trying to protect her. Unlike the foolish Fusun….Azat believes her.
The doctor leaves after updating Fusun regarding Azize’s state…the woman have a menacing and sometimes emotional bedside chat:
• You’re going to live..nothing will happen to either of us…you have to give me my daughter
• Don’t kill my son…
• Keep your word…I’ll keep mine
• You stole my “sun”…give my daughter back
• I saved her…you abandoned your helpless child
• I came back…searched…and searched.…but you had stolen her
• You preferred the good life over nursing your daughter
• What kind of woman would do that…you stole my daughter
• I rescued her…. I did what you couldn’t ….I raised her with love…the best of everything
• I saw your hate….How many times did he beat me… till I fainted. You were there …you saw it all and never helped me…not once. I was never able to ask for help. And despite all this…I took care of the child you abandoned
• I didn’t abandon her. You hid her
• You left her…you left her…you’re trying to erase your sin. What will she do…what will she think of you. Will she hug you and call you mama…will she forgive you (hymm what say Hazar and Miran)
• Buttons pushed…Fusun smacks her cane…she will forgive me…of course….where is my daughter
• You don’t’ have power …you don’t scare me. We both have to stay alive… me and hazar. I will give you your daughter…I am a mother in pain as well. Remember this….your daughter will never forgive you (does Azie finally feel the same about her plight)

Part 3
The chat is interrupted by Azize’s cell ringing. Fusun answers...it’s Azra. A few seconds into the phone call….both women have a knowing look. Azra starts…where is my aunt and why are you answering her phone. “you know she’s hurt” answers Fusun. “I’m her friend”. I’m taking care of her. “give me the directions…I’m coming to see her”.
Azat and Yaren are in a café. Anxiously she starts “you want us to keep quiet”. He doesn’t respond nor look at her so she asks “why didn’t you turn me into the police”. Still no answer. “please say something. Tell me how despicable and horrible I am. Spit in my face. At least you have to look at me to do that. Take me to justice…because I can’t do it myself. You have to do it, brother”. Azat never looks up or says a word so she leaves on her own. His phone rings…he doesn’t answer.
At Hope House Reyan leaves Azra a voicemail as Dislah walks in and says “I hid all my suffering. When she asked me I lied so she could be happy…I kept quiet all these years and you let it all out”. As Reyan asks “mama Dislah” for forgiveness…MEran comes to the door in time to hear Dislah tell her not to call her mama. He steps in saying “The moment has come. I’m listening. Don’t keep quiet….tell me everything” he demands. Both women are nervous.
Reyan starts by letting him know she had to tell Azra that Azize imprisoned Dislah all those years. Where’s Azra now he wants to know....neither woman can say so he goes to Reyan…are you hiding anything from me. She confesses that Azize came to Hope House asking for her help…she had been stabbed. He wants to know who stabbed her but Reyan lies..she doesn’t know. So how did you help her then….so she confesses she took Azize to the love shacked. The shack…why not the hospital. “Reyan..what is going on” he demands. “She asked me for help. I only want to help” she say. “you should have told me”. As Reyan is giving her round about reason for not telling him…Zehra walks in and says “she did it for your mother Miran”. Reyan asks her to be quiet but Zehra won’t be contained. You won’t throw my daughter under the bus. Your mother stabled Azize.
The end.

Thanks VERY much, Nett, for this fine recap of an important episode. I was glad that we finally got more of Fusun's history, especially the part dealing with her actions toward her daughter. Of course, we're getting this info from Azize, who is not exactly an unbiased source. But the occasionally guilty look on Fusun's face as she listens to Azize's account suggests that it probably contains a good deal of truth.
What I don't understand is what Azize hopes to achieve. Unless she hands over Azra to Fusun, Fusun will harm Hazar and perhaps others as well. Azize has no compelling bargaining chips. I do wonder what will happen if Azra comes to see Azize.
I'm somewhat confused about the photos Miran's men found. We don't see them. What do they show? Are they photos of Firat threatening the truck driver by putting his pistol in the guy's mouth, whereupon the guy admits that it was Fusun Aslanbey who hired him? Nett, you say that Miran is all worked up because "the guy he thought was dead is actually alive and well per the pics." But didn't the guy eventually die, not on that day but later, when Miran and Hazar find him and question him and someone shoots him? Is Miran getting all worked up over outdated photos? (As you noted, Nett, everything bugs Miran!)
I'm also confused about Cihan's claiming that he killed Harun. What good does that accomplish? What would be gained by Cihan's going to prison? Moreover, by claiming that he killed Harun, Cihan will only make things worse for his family. Fusun would very likely seek revenge on all of them.
I never thought I'd say this, but Brava, Zehra! She cuts through all the lies and secrets and just comes out with the truth. Zehra tells Miran that his mother stabbed Azize. Reyyan helped Azize out of kindness. "She did it for your mother's sake." (Miran keeps complaining that no one is telling him the truth. Well, Miran, be careful what you wish for.)
Love your short and sweet, yet detailed recap Nett, especially the conversation between Azize and Fusun! Thank you! Maniacal Miran is starting to peak again! Will we ever get a rest from his behavior! And like Juanita said, “be careful what you wish for” cause more sucker punches are a coming Miran! So we’re in for more fire-breathing yelling fits! Ughhhhhh!
I, too, am glad, well kinda glad, minimally glad, that we’re getting some backstory on Fusun. ButI do detest the woman and would love to set that cane of her’s on fire! She is just horrid, and another one who hasn’t owned up to her own crap! Tryna play nice with this some, while boiling bunnies with others, and then has the nerve to be all self righteous! How much longer do we have to bear her!!!!!
I feel so sorry for Umut. These people are making Reyyan’s pregnancy a living hell, and her a basket case, and she’s helping them! Also like Juanita, I gotta give props to Zehra! Lower your bluster Miran and shut the hell up! Your crazy St. Agnes looking mom ain’t that much of a saint! Justified in stabbing Azize? Maybe! But there comes a time when you gotta pull up your big girl panties, cut the woe is me act, fix that sad sack of a face of yours, and give your tormenter the middle finger! Show her that you survived in spite of her, and that you now have all the love that she can’t get! I’m almost there at detesting Dilsah too! I just don’t get it! Like you can’t be happy unless you get revenge???? None of these folks ever heard about “pressing charges!!” Seems like Midyat is the place to be for unrepentant and unjailed criminals I guess……
So much more to say, but alas I can’t….. thanks again Nett!
Quick thoughts……..absolutely loved the interaction between JD and Muriel. The rose was such a sweet touch! The difference between their interaction and JD’s and Rosario’s was like night and and day! JD will not be manipulated (not knowingly at least) by Rosario’s whims. She just totally invades his space and uses her “sexy” as a tool to reel JD in. Like why is she always sticking her face in his? I couldn’t really read JD last night, and have to wonder if he’s a little bit torn in his feelings for Rosario. He’s a no nonsense guy, and I don’t know why he just doesn’t tell her that he’s not interested———-or is he?
How Gabriela threw her grandkids under the bus in her conversation with Demetrio is disgusting! She hasn’t known Demetrio long enough for him to be able to say one bad thing about Gaby and her choices! And how she described Andres! Like WTH! Unless Andres is bipolar, what she said, and what we see is as far as the east is from the west! Gabriela is a fool! A 20 yr older fool! I don’t like that there has been no growth in the character……
I also don’t like where they’re taking JD, Muriel and Leon. This should not be something that comes between the brothers. In the original, this was not an issue, or am I not recalling well? Erik and Leon are just NASTY pigs! Laughing at how they share women! Where did they learn this behavior from? Certainly not from Juan Sr! Imo, Leon is the worst of the two, and has sociopath written all over him!
Sorry, but Romina gives new meaning to the saying “trailer trash!” The way she treats Duvan is hateful and abusive. Why Duvan is as sweet and engaging as he is is a mystery! Jimena is not going to let this go. Her curiosity will not be denied…….
Nett, thank you for every detail as we go around and around .
Watching Fusan and Azz snarl and threaten each other is getting old. So odd that Fusan demands that Azz "return" her adult physician daughter. How old is Azar ?....
Miracle man Miran must have inherited his miraculous healing powers from Azz because she just got stabbed int her stomach , but she heads out too confront her mortal enemy.
By the way, where is Goodgran Shukrun ? I thought she would 'nt let Dil out of her sight.
Speaking of Dilsah, she has made quite a fall off that pedestal that Shukrun, Hazer, and Mir had her on when they thought she was long gone.
And the truck driver.....Mir....let it go.
Rosario arrives home just in time to receive the visit of Jimena and Oscar Reyes. Jimena was so worried about Muriel, she couldn’t sleep. Rosario offers them a drink but when they start asking questions, she says she is very tired, they should ask Juan, Norma or Juan David for details, because they know everything that happened to her daughter.
JD has a hard time sleeping that night. In the morning, the twins who apparently found out about the accident from Oscar and Jimena come to tease him. They do their usual mocking, trying to push JD to react, but he doesn’t bite at first. But then they mention how they ran over Rosario and he ran over Muriel, how ironic, isn’t it? This bothers JD, but he does have a moment of weakness, when he confesses to his brothers that he feels very bad about what happened, even if it was only an accident and he can’t stop thinking about Muriel. Instead of showing empathy (they don’t know the meaning of it), they mock him even further. JD calls them detestable, but I could think of better words to describe them. How are these three brothers? The original Reyes brothers used to fight, but they were never malicious just for the fun of it.
Rosario gives Muriel her phone back (Jimena brought it during her visit).
Andres is at home with Sara, they’re not yet aware of the accident. He hopes Muriel is home safe. Sara can see how much he cares about her and she approves (even if Andres doesn’t exactly ask for her permission). For someone who threw a tantrum just a few weeks ago because Andres was working for Rosario, Sara is sure showing to be much nicer with Rosario’s daughter. Andres mentions how he doesn’t exactly like the idea that Nino will be working at the ranch. He just doesn’t see it in him. Sara explains she wants to help him, but Andres is not convinced, he can’t quite figure Nino out yet, but there is something about the guy that bothers him (he doesn’t really say it, but he implies his lack of trust in Gaby’s friend).
Speaking of, Gaby is at school, when Demetrio shows up, visiting as a friend!! She freaks out, he doesn’t see the problem, but she says he didn’t fool her with his speeches, so he better leave her alone. Demetrio wants to take her out for a drink, clarify their conflict (!!), but she’s appalled by such a request from an older man. Demetrio says he doesn’t mind if she sees him as a father figure (yuck!), Gaby fights back: my dad is too much man for you (or something like that). Then Demetrio attacks Nino, does Gaby know anything about his illegal activities? Gaby wonders how come he’s aware of what Nino is doing, is he running in the same circles? She finally leaves, and Demetrio looks pissed! What’s the deal with this dude??
Later he’s with Gabriela, telling her all about Nino’s dangerous influence on Gaby. Gabriela is appalled that Sara would allow her daughter to have such friends, Demetrio says he’d give his life for Gaby if necessary. This statement is so ridiculous, even Gabriela notices, she tells Demetrio that he shouldn’t be so concerned with what Sarita and Gaby do. She will intervene when the time comes.
Nino has arrived for his first day of work at Sarita’s ranch. She asks Gonzalo, her right hand man, to take good care of the boy, give him a proper training. Nino is thankful for the opportunity.
Juan is searching for JD, but he’s not home. Erick implies that he went to see a woman, since he was wearing fancy clothes. Later, he and his brother are riding their horses and wondering about who is their brother more interested in, Rosario or Muriel? They have a ridiculous conversation that leads to them deciding to both fight for Muriel’s attention. They have always shared everything, every other girlfriend they ever had, why not her? This brotherly bond has gone from twins being twins to plain creepy and disturbing.
JD has indeed come to see Muriel. First he runs into Andres, who tells him to ask Gunther if he wants to see her.
Muriel is with Rosario in her room, saying that she has a lot of missed calls from her dad. Gunther arrives with the news of JD’s visit, but Rosario forbids Muriel any type of visits while she’s under her roof. Muriel couldn’t care less, she goes downstairs to see JD. He’s brought her the shopping bags, her ID and credit card and a rose. They make googly eyes at one another, hug, she assures him that she’s feeling much better, he says that she does look great, talk about her getting to know the pueblo and the ranch… the usual banter, but Rosario is spying on them and later tells Gunther not to let JD leave before she speaks to him.
On the phone with some guy, Demetrio says that the plan is going slower than it should, but they need that money. He hangs up in time to see Nino on his scoter leaving Gaby’s house and quickly calls Gabriela to let her know that Nino is visiting Gaby with Sarita’s approval? Gabriela doesn’t seem to question what Demetrio is doing close to Sara’s ranch, but she’s now certain that Nino is a delinquent.
JD has come to see Muriel in her dressing room. She mentions how fast he’s come, was it only for Muriel, or did he come for her, too? He says he’s been busy lately, she says not too busy to run Muriel over… He gets upset, reminds her it was an accident, so Rosario backtracks, wants to stop him from leaving. JD says he will be back for her and only her, so they can have that talk she’s been waiting for. The whole conversation is practically whispered, they are almost kissing, then they’re not, JD resists, Rosario tries again, JD looks tempted… She still has a certain pull on him. He finally leaves!
Andres would like to see Muriel, too, but Gunther forbids it! The main house is not for him, he belongs downstairs, in the club. Funniest moment of the day comes from Gunther of all people, calling the Reyes men a pest (una plaga). LOL
Then Gunther offers Rosario a massage and she accepts it. I don’t get why people need to remove all their clothes for a massage, and I especially don’t get it during the brief scene where Gunther is massaging Rosario. While she’s daydreaming about JD, Gunther is telling her how insignificant he is.
Romina is driving around the pueblo, searching for something. As it turns out, it’s Jimena’s shop. She parks her car in front of it, telling Duvan who is with her that this is his father’s business. She goes inside and asks him to stay in the car. She goes in and looks around, drawing the attention of the security guy. Duvan also comes into the shop and Jimena sees him from upstairs. She quickly runs to talk to him, but by the time she comes down both Duvan and his mother are gone.
At night Don Martin is telling JD about how much he loved his wife. They only had three years together, but they were wonderful years. They talk about the power of love, just in time for Norma to arrive. Don M. tells JD that his mother also gave everything up for love and Norma smiles, remembering how it all went and how happy Juan has made her all these years. She wonders if JD has found love, too. JD says he’s not sure, but she’ll be the first to know when that happens.
The show has started at the club. As Rosario sings and Andres plays his instrument, Muriel and JD are in bed (each in their own home), thinking of one another.
Jimena can’t sleep, so she goes downstairs oir a glass of water. She sees a shadow outside and screams for Oscar to come!
VVS, thanks for joining the conversation. I think Mario Cimarro is OK, too, I really enjoyed some of his past work and he does a decent job so far with the little material that he was given.
Darcy, seeing how Oscar behaves I remember how I didn't really like him that luch during Pasion de Gavilanes 1, either. The man has been desperate for a son his whole life, but apparently only if the son had the proper pedigree! Pretty despicable!
Novelera, I definitley don't mind you posting begative things. I have a lot of negative thoughts about this story, too. I'm hanging in there for the sake of old times, but so far I'm not too impressed (with a few exceptions).
OT
About grammar - I used to believe English grammar was difficult... until I started French. Quelle horreur!
I had never heard of diagramming, so I googled it. Didn't get it at all! LOL! It's different when you learn it as a foreign language. I'm kind of seeing this with my daughter now in school, she's learning to write French as a first language and I sometimes have a hard time explaining her some of the rules because I still see them as a foreigner.
I studied Latin and French in high school and French in college. I struggled with speaking and understanding French . Spanish is much easier for me to understand and pronounce. English has 12 verb tenses. Teaching them to foreign studdnts was a long process.I think Spanish has more tenses, theand I don't know how many tenses French has. I was always too intimidated to speak French to my students . They were very critical . I find that Arabic is the easiest foreign language for me to pronounce and understand . I cant write or read it and don't know the grammar. I !earned the words I know phonetically from my students.
Susanlynn, I'm not sure, but French has maybe more than 20 verb tenses. And the writing of a verb is different for each tense. Yeah, fun! I studied Latin in school, too, it was mandatory, but I was always very bad at it. No clue about Spanish rules, I learned it from TV, I just know how to say a word, not why I have to say it a certain way.
Interesting what you say about Arabic. I find all Latin languages easy to understand and speak to an extent, but I can't understand a word when one of my work colleagues speaks Arabic. Kind of like hearing Mario Cimarro or William Levy speak, I think Haha.
Interesting grammar conversations, Susanlynn and Adriana Noel! I also took Latin in high school, two years of it. That was all that was offered. I loved it, probably because of Miss Mostenic, the classic spinster schoolteacher. Julius Caesar was her hero. We read his Gallic Wars in class and she'd tear up sometimes, dabbing at her eyes with an actual, neatly ironed handkerchief. She just inspired me to want to sort out all those odd noun cases.
When there was no more Latin I took a year of French. The teacher wasn't very good at it. She was obsessed with our learning the names of vegetables. In years since I've had GOOD language teachers who emphasized rarely using English in the class, just dumping us in the deep water. I can still pronounce French fairly well because I do have a good ear for pronouncing words in other languages. But my grasp of the verbs is non-existent.
Susanlynn, that was an excellent description of diagramming sentences. It's a way of visually demonstrating the parts of speech as they are used in an English sentence.
Thank you Adriana, for another fantastic recap! This was a less fun episode than the night before but it had its bright spots!
I don't remember ever forming a strong impression of Oscar back when, but then I didn't understand Spanish back than, I just watched with my roommate and was totally dependent on the subtitles. I think I took it for granted that the good guys were the good guys and the bad the bad. I didn't get subtleties of the personalities. I know I thought back then that the girls' dad was a basically good guy who just got caught up in a bad situation and I watch now and am like OMG! He was a 50ish man involved with a 17 year old girl and lying to her about being married!!! What was I thinking? smh
It was the height of ridiculousness that Rosario tried to say that Muriel couldn't have visitors!! LOL Wow, and then Gunter saying the same to Andres even though he knows they are friends, so senseless. I mean I get why Rosario might want to keep JD away from Muriel but it still sounds absolutely absurd.
Muriel and JD were cute together, the smile on his face when she hugged him was priceless, but then it's less cute when you see him almost kissing Rosario in the next scene. I wonder, is he torn? Or just uncomfortable under the circumstances? Like you said yesterday, he's pretty much stuck!
I still like the brothers scenes, even though this one was a little harsh. The devil twins are horrible and the last thing I'd want to do is defend them but I don't think they are actually trying to be malicious to JD. I think they genuinely do want to bond with their brother and they just can't accept that he isn't a creep like them and won't ever find their jokes anything but repulsive. I did think it was interesting that Erik told Juan that JD went to San Marcos and the only question is if he went to see the mom or the daughter. If Juan didn't already suspect there might be something between JD and Rosario, the seed is planted now. Their talk later about sharing girls was both creepy and disturbing like you said! But they decided Muriel would be the first girl they wouldn't share (because Leon liked her too much, I guess?) and then they made a bet about who could get her first! YUCK!
I liked the costume Rosario was wearing this night more than any of the others. It was a better fit for her, I think.
Sarita sure is more friendly with her workers than she used to be. When she was talking to Gonzalo she even hit him playfully and told him to get to work. It's nice to see that she's become a more relaxed and friendly person and hasn't let loosing Franco turn her bitter or back into a little Gabriela Jr. Speaking of Franco.....COME BACK NOW!!! PLEASE???
Demetrio actually told Gaby that if she wasn't Sarita's daughter he would answer her like she deserved! Is he confessing that he ordinarily hits little girls??? The guy is a creep!
Thank you for the welcome and the great recap Adriana. I enjoy the outdoor scenes and the horses. I wonder if Jimena thought that Duval looks a bit like Oscar? Or why was she so intrigued seeing a potential street urchin wander into the patio of the shop?
I think the devil twins (thanks Darcy) really are just messing around with Juan David, they are certainly naughty though. This was the first real smile we have seen from JD as he gave Muriel the bags and so thoughtfully, the rose.
Rosario is just plan used goods. Maybe the heat of her "engine" is an attraction when JD is trapped, but I was so glad to see him get the heck out of that jungle motif lair of a bedroom! This is definitely keeping my attention.

Late to the party. Thanks so much, Nett, for your excellent recap.
At least we got SOME progress. What I thought I heard regarding Azra is that Fusun somehow gave birth and left the baby with its father because that father was not considered appropriate for marriage. Not sure if it was her father or her brother who gave her an ultimatum, but she chose her position over her child. And then Azra's father died and the baby was sent to an orphanage. Azize always seems to have spies everywhere so she got Baby Azra and brought her to Dilsah as a consolation prize.
Fusun told Azize that she went back. Like a lot of things in this dizi, the details are not very well spelled out. How soon did the father of Azra die? It looked like the baby in the bundle presented to Dilsah by Azize was less than 6 months old. Fusun tried to make it sound like she went back right away, but she couldn't have, unless the baby's father died almost immediately after she left. Azize got her where it hurts when she told her she "abandoned" her infant and didn't even "give her milk" (nurse her).
Let me join the chorus of praise for Zehra (as you said, Juanita, a rare thing) in telling Miran his sainted mother had tried to kill someone.
Sorry, fell behind again. Thank you to Juanita and Nett for fabulous recaps.
I’m glad we got some explanation on Fusun. Azize explains to Firat [Turkish]: When Hasan died, the child was sent to an orphanage. I took her and became her patroness. How can I say now, “your mother bowed her head before her brother because she did not renounce her inheritance and the name Aslanbey”? How do I say, “because she didn’t marry your father”? How do I say, “she left you when you were just a baby”? I want to know why Fusun’s brother didn’t kill her for having a baby out of wedlock. He would have done us all a favor.
I found the Miran – Firat confrontation confusing, too. At first Miran was ticked because Firat didn’t tell him he found the trucker. That made sense. But then Miran said that the man he thought was dead was alive. That made no sense to me. It was pretty much the same in the Turkish.
I liked that convo between Azize and Fusun in the bedroom. It was even better in the Turkish. I’ll believe Azize’s version of events since she’s supposedly reformed now.
Congratulations, Zehra! You finally learned to tell the truth.
