Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #106
Part 1 of 3
Miran tells Cihan he knows where to find Hercan’s family and to stay out of the way. Cihan refuses, saying he must find Hazar’s killer. Hercan is on the phone with Fu pleading for her not to hurt his family. She tells him to come quickly and to make sure if Miran catches up to him that he emphasizes Cihan killed Hazar. Hercan literally crashes into a street vendor and Miran chases after him. At a dead-end street, Hercan pulls a gun. He and Miran struggle as the gun goes off.
Reyyan is with Azize who states as Hazar’s mother she must punish those who killed him. Rey is stunned that she (we) are back to the venganza state of things. Rey accuses Azize of taking Miran back down the rabbit hole and shows her a picture of Ayse at her wedding. What happened to that woman? She vows that she will take Miran back like she did before because she will not allow Umut to be fatherless.
Apparently, the shot fired by Hercan did not pierce Miran’s heart but Hercan’s thigh as Miran tosses him into a room of a safe house. He demands to know who killed Hazar, he knows it wasn’t Cihan. Hercan tries to say he didn’t see anyone. Miran gets a call from Rey wanting to know when he will be home, she needs to tell him something. He evades her question as Hercan tries to escape.
Rey tells Azra that she is worried about Miran exacting revenge. Azra thinks back to her last conversation with Fu where she once again threatened her with hurting the ones she loves if she didn’t come with Fu. Azra cautions Rey to take it easy, she just got out of the hospital. Zehra is holding Umut, Rey thanks her for the new crib. It was actually Hazar’s idea she says. Both talk about how they are dealing with their grief but have to be focused on Umut even if Miran is running around like a loon.
Reyyan realizes that Umut has a fever and Zehra tires to call Miran. Miran is too busy with Azzie interrogating Hercan. After some threats, Hercan agrees to tell Miran everything, but he has a condition. We don’t hear this condition because he whispers it to Miran.
Halit enters Fu’s room and tells her that Miran has captured Hercan. She is furious and calls him incompetent. Her only hope is that they have his family so he shouldn’t spill the beans. She kicks Halit out and launches a glass and her cane across the room.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #106
Part 2 of 3
Reyyan has called Mahfuz to drive them to the hospital. She forbids Ayise from telling Miran anything. If he cared about his son, he would be home right now! Mahfuz reinforces her demand by telling Ayise to comply with Reyyan’s request. Morning arrives and an exhausted looking Miran sits outside of the bedroom at the Hopeless casa. He calls Azize and tells her to let Hercan know that he did what he asked Miran to do, now it is his turn. He tells her he will see Reyyan and Umut and then return. Azize complies with the request that she apparently is still not privy too.
Miran is concerned to not find his family at home and Reyyan not answering her phone. He demands to know from Ayise where they are. Just then, Reyyan and Mahfuz arrive. Reyyan excuses the help and Mahfuz kisses her telling her to call him if she needs anything. He gives Miran quite the “you are a loser look” and leaves.
Miran starts with his excuses but Rey hauls off and slaps him a good one, saying that he abandoned them the very first time they needed him. Is this his idea of being a good father?
Azize stares at Hercan and then sends a text to Cihan saying she has the guy and to come if he has the avocados to learn the truth.
Miran continues with his litany of excuses but Reyyan is having none of it. She tells him he has changed since Umut was born. Now he is just focused on revenge. She tells him to choose between the criminals who killed their father or his own family. She is not interested in revenge. He is concerned they won’t stop and will hurt her and Umut. I became a mother, she says, but because you won’t change, you have not become a father. Get out of here now, she says. I will not raise my son with bullets, guns and revenge. You are going to leave one day anyway, so just do it now. With that, she locks him out of the bedroom. Miran pitches a class A hissy fit that is interrupted by a call from Firat. Azize is about to do something very, very bad.
Fu is arriving at an old building where Azize waits for her. It appears to be a hand off of Hercan. Before confronting Azize, Halit gets a call. Miran has rescued Hercan’s family. Fu is furious and tells Halit to put the plan in motion to kidnap Umut (WTH?? Poor Umut!). She threatens him again and berates him for the incompetence.
In a nutshell, Azize has reverted to her old ways and has fooled both Fu and Cihan to believe that Hercan is inside the building. Foolishly, they both go inside and Azize locks them in and has her minions pour gas and she almost has Mahmut light the match, but after threatening suicide, is stopped by Miran when he answers the call from Reyyan about the kidnapping attempt. Azize demands to know who killed Hazar. Nasuh is furious that Azize has reverted to her old ways.
While all of this is going on, Fu’s henchmen are in the process of kidnapping Umut. The formally bad-ass Ayise doesn’t put up much of a fight and Reyyan tries to hide with Umut. (I kept hoping she would just go to the balcony that connects the two mansions to escape). Umut is taken as Reyyan is left crying and Miran is left on speaker phone to hear and witness the whole thing. The road gets blocked by a dump truck and he and Reyyan both yell for Umut. This ends the Turkish episode #66.
Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #106
Part 3 of 3
Reyyan and the staff make a half-hearted attempt to stop the kidnappers, even Handan gets involved. (The house guards are worthless). As Miran finally arrives on foot, the Fu goons take off in a white car. Reyyan demands to go with Miran to follow the kidnappers. He drives like a maniac while Reyyan berates for leaving them alone and for the kidnapping.
Fu and Cihan are set free when Mahfuz puts a gun to the back of Azzie’s head and tells her she cannot kill Fu because she now has Umut. Fu is living it up and says that Umut is her safety ticket out of there. If her men don’t hear from her soon, Azize will never see her great grandchild again. She dares Azize to pull the trigger as the episode ends.
Paola Rey, Danna Garcia & Natasha Strauss are still amazing 20+ years later.

VVS, thank you for recapping an episode that piled on the suffering and revenge . As my wise and wonderful soulmate always said " A tiger doesnt change its stripes. " These people just keep doing the same things over and over . It looks like Rey has finally given up on " I'm going to kill x y, z" Meran.
This show is making me exhausted .I am ready to move on. The writers have us on a very unmerry merry go round.
At this point, it looks like Rey, Zehra, and Mahfoux have formed little sane family unit around Umet as Azz and Meran get on their revenge mobiles yet again. It is getting old and stale. MEH .
I have had enough of Azz and Fu threatening each other . I want them to take each other out. Basta.Adios.
It's weird how the writers have let Gul and Bahar become invisible with no explanation.
Juan and Norma are in bed, but they can’t sleep. Norma is sure everything that is happening is because Oscar is in a fight with that woman who doesn’t want to get out of the mill house. Juan thinks she’s right, but they need proof and they have to ask Oscar what is truly going on with that woman (Good luck with that!). Norma doubts he’d want to speak to them, but Juan insists it’s the only way.
It’s morning and the twins talk about what happened with grandma Gabs. Could this be payback for what they have done? Leon wonders. Quintina joins them to say that Don M is very worried, too. And Norma and Juan left before she could tell them how she found Adan in Leon’s room. The twins are startled to hear this, they go to ask Don M about the details. They find out about the excuse Adan gave, and why Don M was in the room to protect them, because someone wants to find them guilty for what is going on. But Adan couldn’t take anything, not even the malletin. Hearing this the twins run to Leon’s room and check that everything is still in the same bag they left it in. Eric is upset Leon left the door unlocked, he realizes Adan must suspect something. Also, he wonders about Pedro’s body, they must have found it in the cemetery already, why is nobody mentioning it? Nobody at the hospital or among the cops who were at Oscar’s last night. Could the guy still be alive? That’s a great question, I’ve had my doubts, too, it would be the only way for Oscar not to be a killer (he has enough sins without adding a capital one).
Madrina has come to meet Adela, who is acting restless. She is worried about Pedro, who disappeared two nights ago. They have been together for two years but Pedro never spoke of his family, he only recently told her that he had a grandmother. Madrina realizes Pedro has been lying about his job with some foreign company and about having a lot of money. Adela says the part about the money was true, so Madrina wants to know who he was supposed to meet the night he disappeared. Adela doesn’t tell her anything else, just asks for Madrina’s help. And she won’t share her last name, either.
Leon and Eric quarrel, because they have work to do and Eric is distracted playing with his phone. But no, he explains, he’s looking for info about Pedro. Leon thinks they shouldn’t worry about that guy for now, Quintina’s food is waiting for them. Ah, to be this young and have so many problems and still be able to think about food…Are we sure these two were not sired by tio Oscar?
Juan and Norma arrive to talk to Oscar and Jimena. They apologize for coming like this, but the situation is serious enough. The four sit down and Juan says that both he and Norma are aware that they have no right to inquire about the mill house, but they do have the right to be worried about Gabriela. Norma adds that Romina threatened her with a rifle and she’s sure she’s the one who shot Gabs, too. Oscar thinks they need proof before accusing someone like this. Juan wants to confront the woman, Oscar asks why would she do it? Norma thinks she wasn’t trying to kill Gabs, she was targeting them because of the land dispute. Oscar insists they have no proof. Jimena, who has been quiet so far, asks Oscar why is he defending that woman – she did attack Norma, she’s capable of anything. Oscar insists only the police can accuse her, and Juan agrees – they need to tell the cops everything, and let them investigate. Norma is afraid the woman will attack someone else next. Juan says this is why they have to go right now, all of them, and talk to the police.
Sarita and her family are having breakfast. Andres asks details about Dimi, Sarita says he did help Gabs a lot, donating blood and whatnot. Albin asks who the guy is and Gabby says he’s a rancher from the area and even as she dislikes him a lot, she has to admit that she was pleasantly surprised by his behavior. Andres thinks this means he’s a good guy and Sarita adds that he was supposed to leave Gabs’ ranch today (riiiight), but with everything that has been going on, he wants to stay and help out while Gabs is in the hospital. Andres thinks that’s something they should do, not Demetrio. They agree they should go check the ranch first and Muriel and Albin accept to come with.
Dimi is eating, too, and notices that Dominga is crying. He thinks she’s very pretty when she cries and listens to her sorrow about Gabs while licking a lemon (This is supposed to look menacing, but I can’t help but laugh in disgust, if that makes any sense). He asks her to stop crying, Dominga says he’s nobody to give her orders. Dimi says he’s the one in charge for now, God only knows he’d rather be in his own home. He wants Dominga to gather all the employees so he can let them know about some changes that he plans to do around the ranch. When Gabs comes back she’ll love what he’s done with the place. Dominga tries to protest, but there is no saying no to Dimi.
Duvan is riding his bike when a police car approaches. He goes to warn Romina, who shuts the door and all the windows and tells him not to allow the cops to come inside.
Duvan goes out to greet the police, who ask for his mother. Duvan says she can’t come out, she’s sick in her bed and there is nobody else around. Then asks them to go, but the cops have a search warrant. One of the cops removes Duvan from the door and they go inside asking if someone is around. Duvan says out loud for Romina’s benefit that the cops wouldn’t listen to him. Poor child is more afraid of his nasty mother than the unknown men asking to see her. They try to open the bedroom door, but Romina comes out just then, coughing and looking sick, asking what they want, while Duvan helps her sit. The commander says he’s come to inspect the property that she’s been occupying illegally for several years now. They are searching for guns. Romina “forgets” how sick she is and jumps from her chair, menacing one of the cops, and the commander accuses her of pretending to be ill. Romina restarts her act and the commander explains there was an attack against the landowner and they have reasons to believe the attacker lives in this house. Duvan asks who died, and Romina shushes him that nobody is dead. The commander points out that nobody mentioned someone dying, only she did.
JD talks to the twins about the problems between Oscar and Jimena and the people who live in the mill house. The twins want to go there, but JD asks them to stay away. Adan intervenes to say that the people living there are very dangerous, he was with Norma when that crazy woman tried to kill them both. He didn’t want to say anything before because he didn’t want to be accused of gossiping. JD thanks him for this information and Adan reassures them they can count on him. When he leaves, JD asks his brothers not to interfere, but the twins follow Adan to ask what he was doing in Leon’s room. Adan repeats what he’d said before about finding the door open. It would be unfair to tell the patrones, he is only trying to defend the ranch.
Norma and Juan arrive as Adan leaves. They explain to Eric and Leon they went to the cops to talk about their suspicions. Now it’s up to them to intervene.
And they do just that but they are so incompetent, no wonder crime is rampant in the pueblo. They are still searching the mill house; the roof, the car… one of the cops mentions the attic and Duvan runs inside. Romina is on her bed, pretending to be very sick and lying to the commander about a penknife that he found and she uses for cooking (as if!). Duvan comes running as soon as the commander is out the door, to warn his mother the cops are going in the attic.
Dimi is giving a speech to the ranch hands. They are doing a bad job and he’s noticed it. He decided some changes are needed and they will start by planting some flowers and… he sees a car approaching and asks the ranchers to go back to work. He pretends to be happy to see Sarita and her family, welcomes them as if it were his ranch. Andres asks about the workers, Dimi explains he wants to plant flowers to surprise Gabs when she arrives. Sarita says thank you, but the changes need to be decided by the family. Of course, he already thought about this. And asks them inside, again, like he was the patron. Sarita and Andres both look bothered, but they go along. Muriel and Albin decide to stay behind, not interfere in the family stuff. They have a nice chat about how close they feel to the Reyes family. Albin is sure Muriel will stick around for a long while and she admits this much – she loves JD a lot. If not she would have been back with her dad a long time ago.
Jimena and Oscar talk about going to the station. She thinks they should have gone with the police, too, but Oscar says the cops will take care of it. Jimena is very worried for Duvan (good thing, she reminds Oscar of his son), he admits that it’s not fair to the child. Jimena is afraid because she doesn’t know what type of woman is his mother, Oscar says they need to leave the authorities handle this and then they will deal with everything, no matter what.
Romina tries to get one the cops down from the ladder, one of the other cops has to intervene to remove her. Madrina arrives just then and asks what the reason for this search is. The commander explains they have a warrant. She says what she saw was a bunch of men go against a poor woman and her son. Romina adds her two cents, while coughing, saying the cops are breaking everything. The commander explains they are investigating a murder attempt and Romina is startled by the “attempt” part and when she hears the name of the victim, Gabriela Elizondo, tries to protest. Madrina advices her to stay quiet because nobody is accusing her of anything. Besides, look how sick she is, and she’s never seen a gun in her life. The commander says the family of the victim says otherwise and Romina explains she doesn’t even know this Gabriela person. Another cop arrives just then to say they still have to search the attic. Romina screams again, starts crying, whining the nasty cops will destroy her house, and Madrina adds that Romina was invited in the house by the Senor himself, Oscar Reyes. The commander says that it was him and his wife, who came to the police to file a complaint. Caras inpactadas! Madrina eventually says she doesn’t understand why he’d do such a thing and Romina wants Oscar to come and confront her himself.
Dimi explains to Sarita and Andres the changes he plans for the house. There are too many bedrooms upstairs that are not being used. Sarita explains the house is this big because they all used to live here years ago. Dimi continues by saying that he plans to demolish some of the walls and make a bigger bedroom for Gabs! Andres compares what Dimi plans to the Alcala Bar, and Dimi replies that Gabs deserves nothing less than a space worthy of the queen that she is. Gaby can barely abstain from laughing, as Dimi explains how much he thinks about Gabs and her wellbeing. Andres says nobody has to change anything in grandma’s house. Sarita says she admires these ideas, but they need to ask Gabs first, she has very clear tastes. Dimi concedes, but asks them to allow him to stay at the house the time she’s gone. He wants to take care of the ranch. Sarita agrees with that, since Gabs invited him in the first place. Andres stresses that he can stay, but only to guard the house.
It’s night time and Gunther asks Rosario to talk. He tells her about the latest shooting and where it happened, right next to the ranch where Muriel lives. They tried to kill the oldest of the Reyes clan, who knows what will happen with the rest.
See where you sent your daughter with your excess? And you don’t even have that boy.
Rosario thinks she only failed with that idiot (her words) because of her daughter’s betrayal, so Gunther points out that she is trying to repay said betrayal by allowing her daughter to live in a place where she could be gunned down at any given moment. The whole scene is unintentionally funny, because Gunther is speaking about the reputable Reyes ranches as if they were some crime infested holes in the wall… Rosario asks him to go away, Gunter insists she needs to get Muriel back, or her husband will do it his way. She has been warned.
Madrina tells Romina the same thing, she warned her! She knows she wanted to kill Jimena and got the mother instead. Romina is upset she missed, what a waste of time for nothing. She says the gun is in the attic and Madrina asks her to be smart – if Oscar went to the cops it means he’s done with her. She will go talk to Oscar, but Romina needs to leave this house. Never, Romina says, that would mean giving up and she will never do that. She will finish with Jimena no matter what!
Many thanks, VVS, for this valiant recap. I'm especially impressed and grateful that you were willing and able to do it in the midst of traveling.
I see that Telemundo has entitled this episode "Alliance for the Truth" (Alianza por la verdad). I think a much more accurate title would be "Same Old Same Old." Or perhaps Susanlynn's "A tiger doesnt change its stripes." Like Susanlynn, I am TIRED! TIRED! TIRED! of this repetitious dizi. It's very hard for me to understand why it has been so popular outside the United States.
Just about the only thing different about this episode is Zehra. She seems much more mature, sensible, and pleasant than we've seen her in a long while. But that doesn't make up for the absurdity of Me-Ran and Azize, both of whom are now hell bent again on Venganza. Yawn.
I applauded when Reyyan finally slapped Me-Me-Me-ran. I called out "Hit him again!" but, as usual, my words didn't get through.
So Hercan will tell all, but he has a condition? His condition apparently is to be very long-winded. He went on and on whispering or blowing into Miran's ear. I still don't know what all that was about. Perhaps he gets turned on by ears?
I was hoping that when Fusun again berated and threatened Halit, he might rebel and turn agaonst her. We know why Mahmoud is so absurdly loyal to Azize, but Halit remains loyal to Fusun even when he clearly doesn't approve of what she wants and she clearly doesn't appreciate him.
OK, rant over. For now. Perhaps.
Gold-star recap, VVS! Thanks so much for the quality and doing it while traveling. Your irritation with this never-ending vengeance showed through.
So...Azize likes to burn people up. I guess thinking baby Hazar burned up made her decide on this as her ultimate punishment. I knew we wouldn't see Fusun and Cihan burn up. But I can't say it would keep me up at night if they had.
Reyyan was fairly useless. I hadn't thought of escaping into the SAD konak, but wish she had done so. And those konaks are huge. Couldn't she have hidden in the storeroom where they keep the lentils or something like that?
So...the scene with Hercan actually trying to say something and Miran yelling at him, preventing him from doing so, reminded me of that list of Telenovela Conventions kicking around in my computer. Here's the one I was thinking of:
The "almost spill the beans" routine: instead of just coming out with it, the character says that he/she has something very important to tell another character. "OK, I'm all ears." “But first I must warn you that it is shocking.” “OK, I can take it.” “I wanted to tell you this for years, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.” “Yes, so now you will; I'm glad you got the courage.” This goes on and on, and we know it will not come out, at least not in today's episode.
And, yes, did we even see those big, strong guards that stand outside the konak? I can't remember, but apparently Fusun's Goons come from Scary Midyat Guys, Inc.
Yes, Azize has transformed back into her prior self. But the actor is so wonderful that you can see without her opening her mouth that this is what's happened. I don't really blame her. Fusun needs to be eradicated from the face of the earth.
Adriana, thank you for this wonderful recap! You captured it all seamlessly as always! I had to wait to comment after work because something updated - I don't know if it's my phone or the website but it looks all wonky on my phone now and I didn't dare try to type a long comment!
This was so frustrating and you're right about the police. I was so impressed and hopeful when they actually found the attic but then nothing.....sigh
Adela told Madrina that Pedro was supposed to have gotten $ that night so she at least knows about the blackmail. Does she have a copy of the video? Did she kill her dad? And if so, how did they just happen to be at the old school site when the twins brought her dad there....hmm....and where's Felix? Haven't seen him in a min....Oh and is Pedro actually dead?? So many questions...hehe
I found myself watching the twins closely this episode, because I was intrigued by their body language. It hadn't occurred to me before but I was thinking last night that the actors actually do a pretty good job of matching each other's mannerisms to appear like twins. Like when the climbed the fence the same way and sat down almost simultaneously! It's pretty impressive, unless I'm just desperate for distraction from actually focusing on the plot...LOL
Did you ever see Cosita Linda? Scarlet Grubar played twins in that - and it isn't the same because both characters were the same actress but I was sort of in awe of her talent. Because one sister was well off and educated while the other was not and talked in street slang which I found hard to follow/understand. I understood every word out of her mouth as the one character and almost nothing she said as the other and I found it fascinating.
I feel so bad for Duvan his mom his so horrible and he loves her so much. He has been completely groomed to love his abuser. The police come and he should be pointing saying 'she's right there, get her!' but instead he's desperate to protect her. :(
Thank so much, VVS, for watching and recapping while traveling. Your dedication to the patio is admirable.
I laughed hard throughout this ep, especially at Me-ran’s predictable reactions. How about Reyyan holding on to a kidnapper’s leg? Maybe Zehra should have come over to give the kidnappers one of her eyepopping stares. How can anyone take this crap seriously anymore?
I’m with you, Juanita, I have no idea why this was and is so popular with international audiences.
Happy that Rey slapped Mir but it’s impossible to slap the stupid out of him.
Juanita, I think Hercan’s condition was for Miran to rescue his family from Fusun’s clutches and he did. Or maybe Hercan does have an ear fetish. Lol
There’s still time for Halit to turn on Fusun. Let’s hope so.
Susanlynn: “It looks like Rey has finally given up on " I'm going to kill x y, z" Meran.” But I’m sure she will forgive all by the end of the week.
I like Mahfuz a lot, but I’m still ticked that Hazar won’t be around for his grandson.
novelera, I also thought Rey could have done a better job at hiding. And it looked like the Hopeless konak guards were on the ground. Miran could have beefed up security before he took off. And ITA, “Fusun needs to be eradicated from the face of the earth.”
Thank you Susanlynn, Juanita, novelera and dondi356 for suffering through the episode and my recap! I am finally home, as I have mentioned before, traveling just isn’t the same anymore.
Susanlynn, I also feel we are on a merry go round of unhappiness. Azize and Fu just need to off each other already.
Juanita, it is certainly the episode of same old same old. I was only mildly shocked that Umut was kidnapped. I was also hoping Reyyan would slap Miran once more for good measure, that dude is just clueless. I appreciated the rant! Right now, there is not much more we can do to get through this dizi.
novelera, yes, my irritation is growing with every episode. I just couldn’t bring myself to recap each conversation as nothing new was really covered. I also agree the bright spot in the dizi is the actor playing Azize, she is terrific. We can certainly add the “almost spill the beans” routine to this dizi and several TN’s.
dondi356, thank you for filling in some details. It is hard to take any of the antics seriously anymore.
I think we are in for a ridiculously happy ending or a total train-wreck. Not sure Azize is redeemable anymore and Fu is beyond all hope. She needs to suffer big time.
VVS.....Thanks And Appreciating..Appreciation!
Excuse me but I just watch..I am Cool.Mr.Chillax!......I got this ..Moron...kick a chair..scream like an idiot..bang a door ......!WTF is wrong with him!
Azize ...you never left.......really.....Nasuh...you a clumpier..chump...chumps...chumpy.....sucker!
Fu fu.......the burn up in the fire again....the writers are a bunch of lazy Mofo......really...Azize ..?
Eid is next week .... n .. when you are up all night for thirty ...30odd nights..eating ,praying, n chillaxin...television is a lifeline. On those long long Ramadan nights...this was the Bomb...!....
We are in the ‘.Nights of Power’...(.Lets Bind the devil 👿 )..ending into home plate....MasAllah....(Sultana ).
VVS! Yes! Great recap! Valiant, admirable and then some! I’ve had it! I’m done! Just stick me with a fork right now and stop basting this turkey!! Ya BASTA! Miran running around like a keystone cop, Fu lambasting, threatening and emasculating every man that she comes in contact with is just nauseating! The only person that is anywhere near her level is Azize, and to watch the coldness, distance and black heart emerge again in Ayse made my heart sink to the bottom of the sea. No, I’m not a die hard Azize fan, but like novelera I think her acting is eons above the rest. Like dondi356, yes, Miran is the worst galan ever, and big YAWN Juanita for the overly overdone vengeance!
Reyyan was indeed useless! She could’ve simply hid under the bed and stuck her breast in Umut’s mouth! The konak is so big that there’s any number of things, and places where she could’ve hid! I saw Handan in the mix, but did she really try to help??? I mean REALLY?? Useless housekeepers and cooks who should’ve been throwing all the knives, pots and pans in the kitchen at the intruders! Then the guards! WTH! Incompetent wussies!
They’ve really managed to turn this dizi into a dizzying comedy of errors! Nobody, and I mean NOBODY in the final hour of this story has learned anything! I just don’t get it!?!?
Thanks so much VVS! You’re writing on the run like a champ! Especially with the material you’re given!
excellent comments HalimaCandy and carmella. Looks like we are all fed up with this dizzy, silly dizi. We started off hot with intrigue and huge surprises and now we are just laughing and counting the days until it is over.
carmella, I think Firat considers himself more of a brother to Miran and grandchild to Azize than the step nephew. He is of course Fu’s nephew poor guy.
Darcy: Wasn't shocked about the law enforcement folks being slow & Incompetent, Irrelevant & Immaterial.
The villains still winning as usual.

Hercai2: #107 - p 1 of 3
Various people are standing around outside the small building in which Fusun and Cihan were almost burned to death by Azize. In addition to these three, there are Nasuh, Mahfouz, Firat, Mahmoud, and some of Fusun's goons. Mahfouz demands to know where his grandson is. Fusun tells him that as soon as she leaves, Umut will return. Azize takes out a gun and points it at Fusun. Nasuh puts his hand on the gun and tells Azize not to do this, since Fusun has their great-grandson. Mahfouz warns Fusun that if she hurts Reyyan, he'll kill her. Fusun assures him that she'll return Umut to his mother, but first she needs her guarantees. Azize thinks to herself, "You left me no way out, Fusun. I'll wait until we have Umut back, and then I'll find my son's murderer." Fusun thinks to herself, "Miran will protect me from your rage, Azize. And then we'll either make peace or go to war."
Back in Fusun's room in the Aslanbey konak, Fusun asks Halit where he took the baby. Halit replies that he followed her orders and sent the baby to the family of Narly. He adds, "If anything bad happens, we'll do as you said." Fusun replies emphatically that nothing bad will happen. She adds, "There's nothing more dangerous than a suffering parent. Miran will be here soon. We'll exchange Umut for our lives." Yaren overhears part or all of this discussion. She's very happy. Nothing bad will happen to her. She thinks, "Poor Reyyan. She must be devastated. It would be better if I went to see her and saw this with my own eyes." [Yup, she's the same old Yaren. Few things give her more pleasure than Reyyan's pain.] Zeynep walks by her, gives her a cold stare, and continues walking.
At the Hopeless konak, Reyyan insists she go with Miran to see Fusun. Miran insists that she not go. "Armed men took my son," cries Reyyan. She looks at Azize and says, "It's all your fault! I'm tired of your venganza. All I wanted was a family and peace. You've always hurt me, but this is worse. If anything happens to my son, I'll curse all of you!" She tries to get Azize to leave. Reyyan then runs after Miran, who is leaving. She collapses unconscious on the ground as she tries to stop him from going to Fusun. Miran picks her up and carries her to her bed. He tells Asiye to call Azra. Then he starts to leave. Nasuh tells Firat to go with Miran. Mahfouz wants to go, but he feels they have to wait. Cihan insists he wants to go find his brother's killer. Miran tells him to stay out of it, and he leaves, with Firat close behind. Nasuh tells everyone that Miran knows what he's doing, and that he'll do nothing to hurt Umut. "But you," he says, looking at Azize, "you are too filled with rage. I won't let you do anything that would destroy Reyyan forever."
We see a gray car drive up to a very poor house somewhere in the country. A guy gets out and hands a baby to someone in the house. We then see Fusun back at the Aslanbey konak. Halit is on the phone. Fusun asks him whether the baby arrived safely. He says yes. She says, "Tell them to care for him well. He should be deprived of nothing. I don't want anything bad to happen. Did they give the family the gift?" Halit indicates that they did. Halit tells Fusun, "They're expecting a call from us." "Let them wait," replies Fusun. [I think but am not sure that "they" refers to the Sadoglus.] "Miran will be here soon." Sure enough, Miran arrives. He tells Fusun that he wants to speak with her, alone. Firat goes upstairs, and Halit too disappears.
Firat assures various people on the upstairs balcony that nothing bad will happen. Yaren expresses her wish to see her parents. Zeynep scornfully observes, "Is that all you can think of at a time like this?" Yaren thinks smugly to herself, "We'll see who laughs last."

Meanwhile, in the courtyard, Miran tells Fusun, "I didn't come here to burn this place down. I came because my son is in your hands. But you owe me two lives. One is the child I could never carry. The other is my father's life. I've learned the worst thing is to come in anger to get revenge. It's hard for me to deal with this. But I have to, because there is no pain greater than a mother without her child. It doesn't matter how rotten your heart is--you are a mother, and you understand Reyyan." He opens his jacket and holds out his arms, saying and showing that he came without a gun. "I want to put the past behind us." Fusun thinks to herself, "You've surprised me, Miran. If you're willing to put the past behind, I'll be able to get all that I want." Aloud, she says to him, "Your son protects me. Too many guns are pointed at me." Miran swears that no one will hurt her. "But it won't be my son that protects you, it will be me." Fusun tells him she knows that he is a man of his word, but she doesn't trust those around him. "Tell me what you want," Miran says. Fusun replies, "I'll return your son, on one condition."
Back at the Sadoglu konak, Azra appears and asks how Reyyan is. Handan tells her, "Can't you see? Your mother has pulled another of her stunts." (Then Handan apologizes, saying she realizes Azra is not to blame.) Reyyan wakes up and immediately looks for Umut. She gets upset again when she sees he's not in his crib. She screams that he has been kidnapped. She has a fit worthy of her worthless husband, screaming and throwing things. [Normally, I'd be sympathetic and probably quite moved by Reyyan's predicament. But at this point, I find I simply tune out. I've heard it all before.]
Back at the Aslanbey konak, Fusun apparently explains her "one condition." She hands Miran a gun wrapped in what looks like a handkerchief. Miran says/asks "The gun that killed my father. Why are you giving it to me?" Fusun tells him, "You'll protect me from Azize, for your son. I didn't want things to be like this, but I had no other option. You'll silence Hercan, and everyone will think Cihan is your father's murderer. Above all, Azize. With your help, I'll be cleared of this. And in the eyes of my daughter as well." Miran asks, "Then what?" Fusun says, "Don't worry. I'll leave this place, even if it means giving everything I possess to Azize. When you get your son back, I will be long gone, with my daughter." [Huh? That doesn't sound very safe to me. He won't get his son back until after Fusun has left?] She continues, "I have only one child, for whom I'd give my life. As you would. My freedom in exchange for Umut. Do we have an agreement, or do we go to war?" Miran says he wants to see his son. Fusun tells him his son is fine. Miran insists he wants to see him first.
As Miran leaves the Aslanbey konak, we hear the voice of Fusun talking to Halit. "Miran's unexpected attitude has completely changed my plans. Everyone is going to fall, Halit. Azize won't let Cihan, her son's assassin, live. Umut will grow up with another family. He won't know that his father is Miran and his mother, Reyyan. I'll take Gunes with me and leave. Azize will die with a broken heart. The only one left is my grandson. When he's born, I'll estrange him from his mother."
Miran shows the gun Fusun gave him to Mahfouz. He asks Mahfouz, "Are you going to help me, for my son?"
We have another crying fit by Reyyan. It includes a flashback to a happier time, when Miran and she and Umut slept "under the stars" on the floor of their bedroom. FF>>
Hercai2: #107 - p 3 of 3
A furious Azra comes to see Fusun. "How many more times will I feel ashamed to have the same blood as you?" she asks. "I forgot you are a monster." Azra accuses Fusun of being Hazar's murderer. Fusun claims it's not true, she didn't kill Hazar [but she probably arranged for it]. She goes on to explain that she took Umut because they were trying to blame her for Hazar's death. Azra asks when Umut will be back. Fusun tells her, "When I'm safe--you and I are leaving here." To Fusun's surprise [and mine], Azra says OK. She wants her mother to "return Umut and end the war." She asks Fusun to give her one day to say goodbye to all the people she cares about. Fusun agrees.
Meanwhile, Azize remembers Reyyan's impassioned accusations. And Esma is unhappy that the old Azize is back.
Azize tells Nasuh that she wanted to settle the score. Nasuh points out that he almost called his son a murderer because of Azize. "You're hurting everyone," he tells her. He continues, "You will not move from this house until Umut is back." Azize tells Nasuh, "The scorpion can't go against his nature."
Cihan tells Handan that "Nasuh confronted Ayse, the woman he loved, to save me. My father loved me as much as my brother. I was so jealous I couldn't see the truth. I miss my brother so much. I think of him all the time. Miran and Reyyan were entrusted to me by my brother, whether they want it or not." He then suggests that he and Handan go to see Reyyan. "We'll stay, even if she kicks us out."
Miran returns. "Where is my son?" asks Reyyan. Miran replies, "Give me tonight. Tomorrow, he will be in his home." Reyyan throws another fit. She threatens to kill "that woman" [I think she means Fusun, but it's possible she's referring to Azize.] Miran begs her to stop. Mahfouz appears and says they need to be patient. Miran, in true Miran fashion, asks Reyyan to trust him "one last time. Tomrrow, he'll be sleeping in your arms." Mahfouz foolishly says, "I'll make the same promise." Miran also shows Reyyan a photo of Umut (supplied by Fusun?).
Yaren has heard some of the arguing between Miran and Reyyan. Perhaps as a result, she looks very happy. She thinks about how the Sadoglu konak used to be full of people. She then sees Reyyan trying to destroy the swing that Miran had made. "If I wanted to, I could end your pain, but I won't" she says, referring to Reyyan but not talking to her. "I suffered, and now you will suffer." Suddenly she realizes that Handan has come up behind her and has perhaps heard part or all of what she said. "¡Mamá!" she exclaims as the episode ends.
Rosario asks to talk to Andres about why he’s lying to her, why didn’t he tell her about his grandma’s condition? Andres calls it gossip, Rosario says she’ upset because Muriel is living close by, Andres says she is exaggerating and the Bar is more dangerous. Rosario asks him to help get her daughter back home. But it’s a no go, Andres is connected with all the involved parties, he can’t interfere. He leaves and Rosario talks to Panchita who lets her know Gunther is saying her husband is coming soon.
JD is visiting Sara and they talk about the people living at the mill house and what a big problem it has become. Sarita says she will take care of Gabriela’s ranch and Muriel offers her help, too.
Romina is burying the guns with Duvan looking on. She asks him to go to school.
Juan&Norma and Jimena&Oscar are back with the police to ask what they found at Romina’s. The big boss asks Norma how the attack against her happened and why was she at the mill house in the first place. They say they couldn’t find anything during the search, so it’s dangerous to make this type of accusation without proof. It will be hard for them to get Romina to leave the property, especially since they also have to take into account the Madrina’s declaration that it was Oscar who invited her to stay in that house. Oscar keeps silent, so Juan urges him to speak. Oscar says it was a mistake to involve the police. They need to solve this together as a family, not involve the law enforcement. Norma and Jimena leave in disgust at such words and Juan asks his brother if he’s playing with them. But no, Oscar insists they need to solve this together, he will go at the mill house and Juan has to help him.
Don M mumbles about enemies and whatnot…
The quad arrive at the mill house. Juan knocks at the door, Oscar tries a window. Juan wants to force open the door, then he takes the ladder to reach the attic. He only finds an ammunition box, but it’s empty, so Oscar urges them all to leave now. Juan asks Norma if she remembers the caliber of the gun used to threaten her. And he wants to go inside, the lock can be easily broken. Oscar says no, there is a kid in that house, they might scare him, and they need to leave. Juan accuses him of hiding something to protect that woman. As Romina watches hidden in the bushes, Oscar hits Juan, prompting his brother to hit back. Oscar says he’s a grown man, this is no way to solve things. Juan says HE will interfere because he doesn’t want his family to be in danger, too – he knows all too well that Romina’s intention was to kill him and Jimena.
Rosario is in her room sleeping when some guys arrive… for her, Gunther says, they were sent by his patron. So a kicking and screaming Rosario is taken away by two men and placed inside the back of a truck. As the truck drives on a country road the two men start questioning Rosario about Muriel – where is she, she hasn’t called her father in several weeks and they haven’t seen her around the bar, either. Rosario is upset they keep calling her by her married name and screams that she doesn’t know where Muriel is. She tries to get down, the guys threaten to tie her up.
Back at home Jimena asks Oscar to come to eat (!!) But he’s not hungry, he needs to find a way to solve this situation without hurting anyone. Jimena thinks he needs to be honest with himself first. And there is someone at the door – Madrina, asking to talk to him. Jimena thinks she is Duvan’s mother, but Madrina admits she lied, says she is only the madrina of the mother and she has to talk to Oscar in private. Jimena asks Oscar if he wants her to leave, so Oscar steps outside to talk to Madrina. She says she did try to talk to Romina, but she’s stubborn. Oscar doesn’t see a solution out if this, Madrina insists he needs to think about Duvan.
So Oscar goes back to the mill house, this time with the Madrina. They go inside and find Romina. He calls her a coward for staying hidden and accuses her of trying to kill Jimena and making a mistake. She denies it, thinks he’s here to accept her demands, leave Jimena and marry her. He laughs, offers to double her child support and give her a house in town. But no, Romina wants to get married and give him a lot of kids. Oscar says she nauseates him, so Romina gets out a pocket knife and Oscar pulls his gun, says if he’s not killing her is only because of Duvan. She does deserve to die, though. Romina asks him to leave, Oscar threatens again he will take Duvan from her. After Oscar leaves Madrina “congratulates” Romina for doing things so badly. Now she really ruined everything.
The truck is still going, the guys says the patron is coming soon and needs to find both Rosario and Muriel together. So where is she? Rosario once again says she has to get out, asks where are they going. The truck stops and the guys leave her alone in the truck. They are in the middle of nowhere apparently, they say they are leaving her there locked up the time she decides to speak.
Andres asks Gunther about Rosario, but Gunther accuses him of keeping things hidden, like what happened to his grandma. Andres says that has nothing to do with work and Gunther says he can’t contact Rosario – she might not even contact them, she might be away for several days. Andres doesn’t buy this story, but Gunther doesn’t care.
It’s night time and Gaby is on the phone with Sarita, saying she could have gone with her to see Dimi. But she is the one who seems to be in danger. She stops the car just in time to see a scooter’s lights approaching. Instead of going inside her car and running she calls her mom. When she doesn’t pick up, she calls Gonzalo instead, but a man grabs her from the back. It turns out it’s Nino, wanting to surprise her. Gaby is shaken up, but manages to laugh and say that she’s happy to see him. Nino says Gonzalo let him come inside, asks him to come to the house. Nino doesn’t have the time, though, he can only stay a moment with her. Gaby reminds Nino he can come stay here with his family. Nino knows that, but he wants to save some money first. Gaby offers to help him, but Nino says no. He’d like to be able to stay longer, but he has to go; he’ll do his best to come around soon. They kiss and then he leaves.
Dimi is in town, working, no clue on what. He meets with Roman, who says they found out where Nino lives, but he’s now with a new gang, that will defend him. No worry, they still need to follow him day and night and kill him as soon as possible, Dimi says.
Oscar arrives home, surprised to find Jimena waiting for him. He says he’s been driving around, trying to figure out what to do next. Jimena is afraid, feels she no longer knows him. Like the fact he knew that woman, Madrina, and he admits he did but he lied because he’s afraid he’s going to lose her love. He tried to make up for his mistakes, but it’s not easy. And he needs to talk to Juan and Norma, apologize to them.
They arrive at Juan’s ranch, the boys are also around. He apologizes to the entire family for his behavior and promises Juan he will take care of the problem at the mill house. Juan shakes his hand, accepts to help his brother.
It’s morning and the guys are back at the truck where they left Rosario. She managed to sleep on a mattress on the floor, asks them to get her out of that place. She has a hard time getting up, the guys help her come outside and she asks what they plan to do with her. They start asking about Muriel again, they are only following orders. She wants to know if she will be returned to San Marcos if she tells them where Muriel is. The guys say she also have to take them to where she is and together they need to go back to the bar – the two need to live together, boss’ orders.
Panchita asks Gunther about Rosario and he says he has no clue where she is. Besides, he’s not paid by Rosario, so he doesn’t care about how the place is run. Blanca is around, too, she saw some guys arrive and take Rosario and Gunther says they are some business men who came to talk to Rosario. Gunther asks Panchita to deal with the artistic side of things, that’s none of his business.
Oscar is locked in the bathroom, tells Jimena he will be out in a minute. Outside the house, Romina breaks a window with a rock. Jimena goes outside and confronts her.
Who are you? Duvan’s mother? Jimena doesn’t recognize her, why is she here?
Romina has come to return the visit, her entire family want to hurt her and throw her out of her house. She knows Jimena wants to destroy her; and that’s fine, she wants the same thing. And she punches her with a rock, leaving her unconscious. The maid runs inside to tell Oscar, while Romina grabs an even bigger rock and prepares to hit Jimena again.
Thank you Juanita for another well written, excellent recap despite this story that has gone off the rails in idiocy. How you manage to give the facts, with some on point asides, lol, impresses the heck out of me! So thank you again! Reyyan truly got on my nerves in this episode, and I was glad that Handan smacked her while she as in the throes of lunacy. Don’t get me wrong, I get it. I, too, would be beside myself, but Reyyan, acting exactly like Miran, was too much for me to take or sympathize with. I guess being around Miran and his constant fits and tantrums has finally rubbed off on her. And I know this is a dumb, dumb question, but why not FINALLY get the police involved? Kidnapping is a major crime, and you already know who the perpetrator is. If only for a different approach to this madness!
Speaking of Tigers not changing their stripes ——YAREN! The yellow centipede, wicked witch of Midyat is back! Heartless and cruel as ever with her jealousy of Reyyan spilling over is so the Yaren that we’ve come to know and hate. Harun’s death threw her off her game for a minute, but we all know that you can’t keep a treacherous yellow centipede down for too long! Yaren has to pay for her bad behavior too, but let’s get rid of Fu first! Poor Azra! I like the girl, but she really got a bad hand dealt to her when it comes to Fu being her mother. Somebody please KILL Fu! Pretty please……….
Did Cihan really have a moment of regret and remorse!!! As much as he’s done, as much as his actions have cause the debacle that they’re all now in, I believe he did! Lol! Uncle Cihan will now fulfill his “Uncle” duties——no matter what! and the thought of that just cracks me up for some reason! Picture that!!!
If Miran hasn’t learned anything at all, he must’ve learned that Fu can’t be trusted……..right???
Thanks VVS for clearing up my comment on Firat. Makes perfect sense……

Gracias Adriana! For this fabulous recap so bright and early!! I am working from home today so I watched the episode this morning. I accidentally commented on last week's page so I am copying here. I need coffee! LOL
I am just out of ways to say how much Oscar sucks!!!! So he KNOWS he KNOWS it was Romina and that she shot Gabriela in an attempt to kill Jimena and he STILL stays silent?? Tells them they don't need the cops it's a family matter!!!!???? He hits Juan first and then criticizes Juan for hitting back and says HE'S an adult and he doesn't solve problems this way???? Juan should have given him a beat down, he deserves it! This low life KNOWS Romina tried to shoot Jimena, did shoot Gabriela and he is still offering her a house and double child support???
The whole time the guys were taking Rosi to the middle of nowhere to theoretically meet up with Samuel I kept thinking 'Who cares, where's Franco!!!' :)
Romina really is one freaking psychotic crazy lady!!! I can't believe she's attacking Jimena again, already!!! This lady has lost it. I wonder how much further under the sand Oscar can stick his head this time.....I don't know how the writers can possibly redeem him by the end, I HATE HIM!!! And Jimena is still the doting wife???!!!! She needs to locate her backbone and her fight, NOW!!!
Adriana! Fab recap indeed! I only watched about the last 10 mins or so, and I’m just totally, “TOTALLY” disgusted by what Jimena has been reduced too! The “victimization “ of Jimena is in full swing, and the bile just rose in my throat as I watched Romina clock the crap out of her. In Jimena’s defense though, she has no idea what she’s up against or why, and that makes her look even weaker. But c’mon! Romina delivered a knock out blow and she’s no bigger than Jimena is?!?! Didn’t buy that at all! Ughhhhhh!
Not interested in Rosario at all……punto…….
So Nino showed up, huh? Hmmmm…….
There are no words for Oscar🖕🏼….time to bring in a “new “handsome, well to do galan for Jimena……
Mucho gracias for the recaps and allowing me to stay in the loop 💯

Darcy and Carmella, I'm as disgusted as both of you are with what is going on with Oscar and Jimena. I feel like lately all we've been doing was go around in circles with Nutty Romina and her twisted plans. Enough already, I almost miss Felix and the Dimi shenanigans. Also, WTH is Franco?
I didn't care for Nino at all, or his surprise for Gabby. I can't believe how she's so head over heels with this idiot, that has somehow managed to get involved with another powerful gang. One thing I have to say for him is that his bario doesn't seem half as bad as the respectable San Marcos right now.
Seeing Rosario locked up in that trunk made me understand why she fears her husband so much. The guy is a plastic surgeon, for God's sake, but acts like a mob boss. What's up with that? And WTH is going on with him wanting both his women to be in the same place when he gets to them? I gotta say Muriel is rather reckless not to call him back, if she knows how big and mighty he can get.
Not watching the show, I hope I'm not stepping on any toes when I say that using that many emoticons/ smileys can mess with the site - something about the page charging at a slower pace, I think. Sorry, I don't remember the specifics and I apologize if that's no longer the case.
Juanita, thank you for all the details of this simmering stew of suffering , stupidity, and revenge as the two old witches keep threatening each other . Azz and Fu fighter both need to be gone for anyone to have a chance of living in peace .
I am worried that we will lose another innocent ...Mahfoux??? He has become one my fav character as he has so far avoided being pulled into the whirlpool of crazy.
Azra should take this opportunity to get Fufu out of town for everyone's sake. As a doctor she should have her tucked tightly into a manicomia para siempre. Maybe Halit could help.
Yes, Yaren is still the Tiger with unchanged strpes. Still nastycrazy after all these years. All these characters are all just going around in circles...no hero's journeys , no selfawareness, no growth or reforming...no wisdom earned .
"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
The Beatles.
Are we going to see Rey, Meeeran ,and Umet as a happy family at the end ?
Juanita
...thanks again...because I completely Miss the Fufu and Halitosis discussion....but Yaren didn’t!

...yes....Azra has the MEDICINE CABINET!..n the PRESCRIPTION PAD......!!!!!!very good Dopefiend Move!....yes...!...Beatles.....Lovely thought......Ironically FUFU ‘s name is Charming..??
A terrific recap Juanita, thank you! You did a wonderful job with some of the dialogue I missed. I did not “hear” Fu’s plan to have Umut grow up with other people! She has no intent on giving him back. Gosh, I hope Miran can see through her game plan and have one of his own. He used to be pretty sharp at the beginning of this dizi.
I am pleasantly surprised to see Cihan turning a new leaf for the better. It is too late for his relationship with Hazar but maybe he can help take Fu down or at least use his toupee as a bullet shield for Miran or Reyyan or someone.
The Yellow Centipede does not change. She just gets even more crazy.
Did anyone notice the woman who was sweeping her front door step next to the house where Fu goons dropped Umut off? Maybe she will tip someone off to his location.
I feel most sorry for Azra. I have a feeling she might be the next one sacrificed to save everyone else from Fu.
I saw “final episodes” last night. Thanks again Juanita! This was great!
Any offers for a very quick and dirty Hercai recap tonight? I have Spanish class AND a Warriors game in my evening schedule.
Thanks VERY much carmella, Halimacandy, Susanlynn, and VVS, for your terrific, insightful comments.
Carmella, I loved your description of Hercai as a "story that has gone off the walls in idiocy." And as you can probably tell, Reyyan definitely got on my nerves as well in this episode. Yes, it might have made sense for someone to have gone to the police about Umut's kidnapping (not to mention Hazar's murder). But somehow, the Midyat police have never seemed all that competent. Perhaps, as Halimacandy points out, "in Midyat, money talks and bullshit walks." (Though if that were the case, one would think that Miran could get the police to listen, since he seems to have unlimited funds.) Finally, like you I'm hoping that Miran "must've learned that Fu can't be trusted...right???" The key word is "right???"
Halimacandy, I don't share your enthusiasm for Fusun, but I do understand your appreciation of her as a master chess player. Miran by himself seems woefully overmatched. Let's hope that he gets good advice from Mahfouz, who seems to be the most level-headed and also the person with the most familiarity with Fusun's manoeuvres (thanks to his working with Aslan). And yes, last night I too wondered whether the Yellow Centipede was still pregnant. Certainly I saw no visible signs. (Also, see my reference to you in my response to carmella, above.)
Susanlynn, I'm always impressed by your marvellous talent with words, including last night's "simmering stew of suffering , stupidity, and revenge."
Mahfouz is one of my favorites, but I'm not (yet) worried about his survival. Unless the writers included some VERY sick individuals, I don't think they'd kill off both of Reyyan's fathers. I agree with what you say about Azra, and I'm quite taken with your suggestion that perhaps Halit might help bring down Fusun. Finally, I think you've summed up Hercai perfectly in your saying "All these characters are all just going around in circles...no hero's journeys , no selfawareness, no growth or reforming...no wisdom earned." That seems so true, and so well said!
VVS, I too was taken aback by Fusun's duplicity and her grotesque plans. Like you, I'm hoping "Miran can see through her game plan and have one of his own." Somehow, I think it's going to have to be a multi-person effort. I don't see Mr. Huff 'n Puff as up to the task by himself. I loved your suggestion that
perhaps Cihan "can help take Fu down or at least use his toupee as a bullet shield for Miran or Reyyan or someone." As for the woman sweeping near the gray car, I just assumed she was part of the household, but your calling attention to her made me think again. Why include her doing something so trivial if there weren't more to her? Indeed, why pay her for participating if her sweeping were so insignificant? I bet you're right that she's more important than she seemed.
Thanks again to everyone for these great, thought-provoking comments.
Terrific recap, Juanita. Thanks so much!
Don't feel bad because I had the same reaction to Reyyan's hysteria. Azra, where's that injected sedative when Viewerville needs it the most? Also, only in TN/dizis do characters lose consciousness for long periods of time without a medical reason for it.
So the assistants in charge of bumps appear to be on strike. Reyyan went from no bump to a good sized one at 7 months and then delivered a full-term baby, all this in a matter of days. But Yaren, being pregnant for quite a while, shows no bump at all. Maybe the kid was poisoned in the womb by the sheer nastiness of its mother.
We seem to be seeing a reformation project for both Cihan and Handan. Of all people, it's Handan trying to comfort Reyyan. Remember back in the first week when she was constantly nasty to her, dropping hints to the kitchen staff about her not being Hazar's bio kid?
Good use of words, Juanita, in "worthy of her worthless husband, Reyyan..."
I guess, in addition to no on-the-scene police ever, there's no forensic squad in Midyat. The bullet that killed Hazar didn't come from the gun Fu handed Miran. Also, Miran knows his father was shot in the back. Are they going with his accusing Cihan knowing it's not true so as to get Umut back.
Fusun REALLY hit bottom this time. She plans to get out of Dodge and NOT return Umut. So Azra isn't going to have a cell phone with her to find out what her %#^&& mother has done when they arrive wherever?
I loved Azize's remark about the scorpion and its nature. I always love that fable.
I think Yaren overheard where Umut was taken and plans to keep it to herself so Reyyan's suffering won't be stopped.
Just so many crazy, illogical stuff. As I've said before, they ruined this dizi with the introduction of the Fusun character.
Where are Sultana and Crispy Aslan?
I agree that Fu has not helped this show. I had such high hopes that the new character Gorgeous Creepy was going to become a galan , but that storyline got crazier and weirder. ...and then Fizzled out ....and all that remained of Gorgeouscreepy was a cinder. And lastima.
One by one like the Von Tramp children , characters wandered off the stage...Sultana, Azat and Gonul, Dilsah....
I thought Fu was brought in to make Azz seem good by comparison , but she just Stirred Azz up again . I am tired of both of them.
Thank you, Juanita, for another great recap! I missed most of the second half of the episode and I won’t even bother to watch it since your recap told me all I needed to know. Thanks to the patio for very helpful, interesting and insightful comments.
I guess it would be no “fun” if the residents of Midyat let the police do their job. I was surprised that Reyyan even mentioned “the law”. Now the writers have made her hard to watch.
I liked Nasuh trying to put the brakes on Azize. The scorpion can’t go against his nature. That Aslanbey konak was always a nest of scorpions.
novelera, this dizi was in serious trouble before Fusun. But you are right it was a mistake to introduce her. That also brought us the aborted Aslan storyline. At least we got Mahfuz in the deal, but that also allowed them to kill of Hazar.
I have no use for Cihan or Handan. There have been brief moments when they have shown some remorse for their wrongdoings but in the next act, they are back to their old selves.
Don’t get me started about Yaren. May her punishment be great. Maybe she will lose her baby and Fusun will do her in. lol, novelera, “Maybe the kid was poisoned in the womb by the sheer nastiness of its mother.”
You are spot on, Susanlynn, "All these characters are all just going around in circles...no hero's journeys , no selfawareness, no growth or reforming...no wisdom earned."
LOL Susanlynn! I just saw your last comment about the Von Trapp children wandering off stage. Still a few more that need to go.
This show should have ended after two seasons.
I have no idea what the writers have planned for bringing this train into the station . They seem to have been using a stream of consciousness type of writing style, kind of wandering around aimlessly deciding on the next victim . Maybe there was a dart board involved in making decisions about the storyline. I don't see any evidence that they created any sort of outline to follow as they spun out this tale of trouble.
I remember a Mexican telenovela that killed off a bad girl by having her wander into the wilderness and running into some hungry coyotes...yikes. Are there coyotes in Turkey ? We have them in our area.
Many thanks, novelera, Susanlynn, and dondi356, for your great comments.
Novelera, I too was wishing Azra would give Reyyan a heavy dose of sedative. Watching Reyyan was embarrassing, it was so overdone. I enjoyed your comment about the bump assistants being on strike, and I loved your explanation for Yaren's bumpless state: "Maybe the kid was poisoned in the womb by the sheer nastiness of its mother." Not to mention all the nasty vibes emanating from the Aslanbey konak.
Susanlynn, what a great comment about the missing characters being like the Von Trapp children: "One by one . . . characters wandered off the stage...Sultana, Azat and Gonul, Dilsah...." I also thought about Nasuh's old buddy, Josef (?). The two of them used to get together with some frequency, and then, suddenly, nada. (I wonder whether, like Gul, he dropped out because of the coronavirus.)
Dondi356, I share your feelings about Cihan and Handan. They do both seem to be reforming, preparing to be redeemed, but I just don't trust either of them. They've both done so many nasty things.
I keep forgetting that the Turkish version of Hercai was 3 seasons long, since Telemundo compressed those into two seasons. Where would it have ended without the Turkish season 3?
Wow! I forgot about Josef! He, too, was another nicely grounded character! Susanlynn’s “dart” theory may just be right on target! It’s okay to have folks move on or disappear even, but an explanation would’ve been nice…..
Jimena——-pobrecita…….hopefully she’ll come out blazing with both barrels loaded!!! Get her fire back in her bones!
I see a bad moon rising for the lovebirds…….may they withstand!
SUSANLYNN;
Your reference to the Beatles song /that lovely lyrical quote.... Maybe its from Rumi ...['Divine Love'.] poetry line ..?? Maybe George H. was a Rumi fan[ most likely] ..Maybe, its one the quotes by Rumi/Maulana...or Hafiz.??
Ironically this dizi highlights poetry of many Sufi mystics ....Reflections ,we are Graced with at the beginning of each Turkish versions of the show...
BUT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THAT..!! like ya'll have said...there has been no self discovery...just a 360* of terror.....the intentions may be good...but the scorpions are winning.??????
Awesome SUSIE-Q..!! THANKS!!!!!!!!!
Here is the down and dirty for Episode #108 (Wednesday) Fill in at will!
Reyyan sings a mournful song as we see a montage of sad/vengeful people. She is visited by Cihan and Handan. Cihan does seem true to want to do better he asks Reyyan to consider him a second father. She asks him to find Umut. He hugs and comforts her.
Cihan has another moment at Hazar’s grave. He calls himself Hazar’s jealous/worthless brother here to make amends. Nasuh shows up and asks for Cihan’s forgiveness. He doesn’t want to lose another son.
Azra cries as she packs.
Miran with help from Mahfuz, hide the gun Fu gave him in Cihan’s bedroom under the mattress. It is the only way for Miran to get Umut back.
The next morning, Miran and Mahfuz are going to meet with Fu to get Umut after doing her bidding. Rey tells Miran if he doesn’t have Umut, not to bother to return.
Fu brag to Halit that she is leaving with so much more than she planned. Everything is going her way. She is extremely rude to Firat and Zeynep.
The village woman who was sweeping her front doorstep does come to give Reyyan the location. Reyyan intercepts Firat and Zeynep to go to the village. Unfortunately, Umut has already been moved.
Fu and Miran meet to hand over Umut, but Azize calls and tells Fu she has Azra. The deal is now off. Miran is furious.
Azra is actually tied up with Azize in the room. She tells Azize she is no better than Fu. Azize tells her that Fu has no intention of giving Umut back and Azra is her Achilles heel and only card.
Fu says Umut is her last card as well.
Somehow Cihan and Miran end up working together and find Umut. Everyone is happy. The episode ends with what I think is a flash back to what happened to make the rescue work, because it appears that Cihan was key to all of it. Of course Telemundo cut the flashback and the episode ends without us knowing what happened. Hopefully tonight.
Part 1 of 3
Romina manages to escape, but not before hurting Cosme, too, while he is trying to defend Jimena. The entire house, Oscar included, come outside to find Jimena and Cosme unconscious.
Juan, Norma and the boys arrive just as Jimena wakes up to say that Duvan’s mother hurt her. Juan and Oscar decide to go back to the cops and accompany them to Romina’s house.
Norma calls Sarita to let her know what has been going on. Sarita visits Gabriela in the hospital, but tells her that she was shot by a poacher and the police is investigating. Gabs has a hard time believing this, she’s very worried for Jimena. Dimi arrives with flowers for her good friend Gabs just then and Sarita repeats in front of him what she told her mother and Dimi plays along.
The twins go searching for Romina. They follow the trail to her house, but the nutty woman has locked herself inside. The boys discover the window to the attic is open and Eric climbs up. Just then Duvan arrives, and poor child, bless his innocent soul, tries to defend his mother by asking Leon and Eric what they are doing at his house. The twins find him amusing, appreciate his courage, but ask to speak to his mom. Just then police cars arrive, followed by all the Reyes clan (sans Sarita and her family). Seeing everyone, including his father, Oscar, Duvan gets scared and starts knocking on the front door, asking his mother to come outside.
In the meantime, Rosario has told the guys who kept her locked up where Muriel is. The men talk to Samuel Caballero on the phone, giving him an update and then arrive at Sarita’s ranch. They are greeted by Gonzalo and some of his men, who say that nobody has the right to come in while the patrona is away, especially not with a truck. But the guys don’t want to go inside the property, they only ask Gonzalo to call Senorita Caballero. When Gonzalo says no, I half expect for a big gun fight, but the guys just give Gonzalo a business card and ask him to take it to Muriel. How civil! Gonzalo does just that and when she sees the card Muriel agrees to go meet the men with the truck.
Romina finally gets out of the house and at first she plays the poor woman card. But then Jimena says she’s not scared of her, she’s come to face her even after the vicious way she attacked her. What has she ever done to her to deserve this? Romina lets loose completely, calling Jimena a witch who stole everything from her. And she knows that now she plans to take her child, too.
As a cop slaps some handcuffs on her wrists, Romina continues her rant. She insists she has the right to live in this house because Oscar, the owner, authorized her. For the first time Oscar finds the guts to reply, saying that now he wants her gone – she needs to accept the house he offered her in town. Juan asks why would he offer her another house??! Romina says she deserves that and more; she is the one who deserves to be the patrona because she is the one who gave Oscar a son. BOOM! Finally!
Part 2 of 3
Jimena is floored by the news, tears streaming down her face, but I swear that Norma and Juan barely react – they must have suspected something, right?
Romina asks Oscar if he dares to deny this and Oscar, for the first time ever, decides to stop being a coward – he goes next to Duvan and says that yeah, he is his son.
The cops finally take Romina away, but she screams for Duvan to come with her. The commander assures her that the boy will follow.
Jimena, barely able to walk now, is helped by Norma back inside a car. And Juan and the twins all surround Oscar in a gesture of support that is 100% undeserved, but somehow manages to touch me. Maybe because of the message being sent that you don’t turn your back on family, even when said family is an idiot of Oscar’s caliber.
And speaking of blood always being thicker than water… Muriel recognizes the two guys who held Rosario captive. They are her father’s men. She asks if her father is in town, too, but no, apparently not yet. She then goes to see her mother, notices that she’s not looking great and realizes she was forced to tell them where she was. The men say that she needs to go back to live with Rosario, so Muriel points out that she was thrown out, so how can she go back to that house? The men insist, so Muriel snaps at them, actually getting them to leave the truck in order to speak to her mother alone.
She tells Rosario that her father is still in charge, and he has been surveilling her all this time; that’s no news to Rosario, she knows that even Gunther has betrayed her. Muriel wants a cease fire, they need to start to get along and be a united front against her father, win some time before they come up with a way to make him leave them alone. Rosario is reluctant to take the deal, Muriel reminds her she is not her enemy, she is her daughter. And she will come back to her mother’s house, but she demands respect in exchange and for Rosario to stop interfering in her relationship with JD. Rosario still seems adamant to accept, so Muriel says that she still loves her, in spite of all. Then she turns to leave, but Rosario calls for her, begging her to come back home and she will accept all her conditions.
The quad are at the police station, as part of Romina’s interrogation, I think. The commander is saying that she will be charged with aggression, for having hurt Jimena and Cosme and there is an open investigation concerning the murder attempt on Gabriela Elizondo. Romina doesn’t deny the aggression, but she never tried to kill Gabriela, she doesn’t even know the woman. And what about her son? Oscar wants to take care of him, but the commander says that as long as there is no legal proof that he is actually the father, the boy will be taken care of by social services. As for the trespassing accusation, Oscar admitted to inviting Romina to live in the house, so they can’t accuse her of that, too. Jimena intervenes to say that she doesn’t want Romina out of the house, either, she doesn’t want poor Duvan to be left without a home.
Romina sneers at Jimena again and Jimena slaps her with so much gusto, I wonder how many times they had to rehearse the scene to make it so believable. Norma, Juan and the cops have to separate them, while Oscar looks away, more and more aware of the mess he’s created.
Part 3 of 3
Muriel and Rosario arrive home. Rosario is exhausted, asks for something to eat and a hot bath. Back at her ranch, Sarita finds out from Gonzalo that Muriel decided to return home. He assures her that Muriel was perfectly in charge of the situation, but Sarita is still worried until Muriel calls her to say that she is fine and she decided to get back home in order to avoid a bigger issue between her parents. She seems so casual about the whole thing, I believe she’s done this her entire life. She thanks Sarita for having been so welcoming to her and just as Sarita tells her that she’s worried about how JD will take the news, her nephew shows up at the door.
He tells Sarita and Gaby that Romina has been taken into custody and his mom will call later with more details. Then he finds out Muriel went back home and he’s shocked.
Norma is trying to take care of Jimena. She offers to stay the night, but Jimena asks her to go home, she has her own family to take care of. She feels so bad, she wishes to die. Oscar arrives, so Norma leaves, not before urging her sister to call her if she needs anything. But Jimena doesn’t want to talk to Oscar, or see him, or breathe the same air as him. All she wants is to leave this house. Oscar starts to grovel, begs her not to abandon him, and acknowledges that he doesn’t deserve it, but he couldn’t stand losing her. She can take her time to think, he will be waiting for her to be ready to talk. How generous of him!
At home, Norma and Juan talk about the drama happening with their siblings. Juan thinks they need to talk things through (yeah, like you wanted to do, Juan), Norma points out that a discussion would serve no purpose right now, because Jimena is too hurt and Oscar, too. Juan feels bad for his brother, being on the verge of losing his wife and his son. Oh, please, you couldn’t even stand to talk to Norma when you thought she was flirting with another guy!
They both wonder how Oscar was able to hide a child for so many years. Apparently they are both shocked to find out that Oscar is a father.
JD has come to see Muriel. Andres, who hadn’t even found out Muriel was back, helps his cousin get to Muriel’s room. The two lovebirds are very happy to be reunited, but Gunther shows up immediately, trying to throw JD out. Muriel asks him to get lost, but Gunther is rude and JD nearly strangles him. Muriel stops JD before things go too far and JD throws Gunther out. Then she says that this is all her father’s fault.
Gunther runs to give Rosario the news of JD’s arrival. Completely aware of the fact that Gunther is no friend of hers, but he’s her husband’s lapdog, Rosario asks him to mind his own business, she will go deal with JD. She goes towards Muriel’s room, overhears JD say that things will become impossible for them now that she is back in her mother’s house and, as Muriel tries to reassure him, saying that she and her mother have made a deal, she barges in without knocking.
End of the episode, and not a minute too soon, because OMG… SO MUCH DRAMA! I’m exhausted.
Also, where is Franco?
I don't have much time, but I decided that I'll write a short comment before I go to sleep.
Outstanding recaps, Adriana! Wow, 3 in a row! Must have been very tough for you!
So many things happend the week I wasn't active lol. The best thing is Jimena FINALLY finding out the truth about Óscar and Romina with handcuffs! Romina with handcuffs... I will sleep in peace tonight :)
Great work again, Adriana!
Thank you Adriana for this fantastic recap! It WAS dramatic and I know how much you like drama! Lol
'Juan and the twins all surround Oscar in a gesture of support that is 100% undeserved, but somehow manages to touch me. Maybe because of the message being sent that you don’t turn your back on family, even when said family is an idiot of Oscar’s caliber.' I completely agree it was touching in a way. I also found it touching how the twins just silently left the room and headed to the mill house after hearing who had done it. They heard everyone was going with the cops but they weren't going to wait. You hurt my aunt and we are going to deal with this now! It wasn't very smart but it was touching! Same with their reaction to Duvan. They were both charmed by him just like Juan and the way Leon looked at Duvan when he rode up and demanded he leave HIS house was so funny.
I cheered when Jimena slapped Romina! She needs to do it again!! We need the Jimena from 20 years ago to make her appearance!! The comment from the cop about no legal proof surely means DNA test, will we find out Oscar isn't a dad after all?? At this point I hope not cuz Duvan deserves the Reyes family - his aunts and uncles and cousins!
I misunderstood the conversation between Juan and Norma. I thought he was saying what Jimena and Oscar really needed was a good fight! That they needed to let it all out, like a good screaming match to get everything out in the open, and I agreed with him! Lol Cuz I want to see fiery Jimena! But excellent observations on how badly Juan himself handled his own marital problems, you are 100% right!!
Weirdo, you are losing a crazy week!! I'm done recapping for the next few days, Darcy is taking over and then it's your turn again. :) Yeah, this episode was exhausting, but the payback was great!
Darcy, I was actually on the edge of my seat watching the whole scene at Romina's house. Speak, woman, speak!!
And I was impressed with the twins, too, they are no cowards. Foolish, yes, but they have been taught that family comes first.
I so agree that Duvan needs a family like the Reyes clan. And poor child is going to need all the support in the world!
Wow, thanks VERY much, VVS, for the very helpful mini-cap! The only thing I'm not sure about is what you say at the very end. We DO know by the end of the episode that Miran has brought Umut back and handed him to Reyyan, who, of course, is ecstatic with the return of Umut (though she barely even looks at Miran). Nasuh asks Miran how he did it, and he nods in the direction of the entrance, where Cihan is coming in.
I was pleased (and somewhat surprised) that Umut has been rescued when there are still aabout 8 more episodes left. However, my pleasure turned to HUH? when, right after that scene, we see Miran, Mahfouz, and Cihan trying to figure out how to get Umut back. I had to go back and look again at the conclusion, and on a second look I realized that it was a flashback, explaining more or less how they were going to try to find Umut (by following a goon close to Halit).
What made things a little more chaotic--and needlessly so, IMHO--was that before any of that happened, there was a scene where Firat comes to the Sadoglu konak carrying a baby and gives the baby to Reyyan. Reyyan is thrilled for a nanosecond until she realizes that this is NOT Umut! QTF! Why HAVE such a scene?? I must remember to make note of who the writers and director of this dreadful dizi are, so I can be sure not to waste my time watching anything else they concoct.
(As you can see, I'm still in RANT mode :-) ) However, I'm VERY grateful to you, VVS, for providing this skillful and helpful mini-cap.
THANKS A MILLION, VVS!!! As I wrote before there was no way I was staying up so late as to recap Hercai after a two-hour class and a basketball game.
Great quick and dirty. This episode was actually pretty good. I was AMAZED they didn't drag on the search for Umut until Friday's show.
I just can't bear those interior monologues of Fusun where she muses that she's gotten the best of everyone and gloats. Of course some of those monologues aren't interior and go to Halit. Someone, can't remember who, said that Halit would let his whole family be killed rather than double cross Fusun. So maybe my speculation that his uncomfortable looks meant he might go against her are either wrong or premature.
Maybe, just maybe, we've seen the last of hysterical Reyyan. I was SO tired of that. They even portrayed her as a bit demented.
VVS, thanks so much for the recap .It's probably for the best that I cant watch this show right now because I have really had enough of the plot swirling around and around.
I am glad that Um is back in Rey's arms.
Wow, Azra was tied up. Geez. Did Azz have her sidekick Mahmoud lasso her? Time for this rodeo to end.
Fufu is a legend in her own mind.
Is Cihan going to redeem himself ?
Great recap VVS! Thanks for getting to the heart of it! You managed to do that without missing a beat! I’m glad Miran got Umut back to Reyyan with the swiftness cause she’s treating him like he’s got a bad case of halitosis! Can’t say that I blame her though. There is nothing that I can say about Miran that hasn’t already been said before, “voraciously” by the panel, lol. See where a little bit of cooperation will get you, all you MORONS except Mahfouz……
Loved that FINALLY someone was one step ahead of Fu-poo! She really makes me sick with her arrogance and cold bloodedness! What’s even worse is that she’s truly amused by the hurt that she’s caused. Her and Azize are just alike without any major differencs. Azize was all about the revenge, and this was not fun and games for her, but purely calculated evil——yes, Azize was and is an evil bitch, especially when it comes to her family. And that’s why God took all of her sons from her——-because she was evil.. Fu-poo is also about the revenge too, but it’s a big game to her. She’s about to exit stage left while Azize was all dressed in her death outfit cause dying was always part of her plan. Two peas in a pod though…….
I hope the return of Umut is an “out” for Azra…… she really deserves one!!
Thanks again VVS
Hi all. Glad I could put something together between meetings today because I loved everyone’s comments!
Juanita, I should have been clearer at the end of the epi that we know “what” happened but not “how” it happened and that was the flashback cliff hanger at the end of the episode. Rey, Firat and Zeynep followed the directions given by the next-door neighbor who came tell Rey about seeing her neighbors take a baby in. That was at the Hopeless konak. Firat brought back the woman and her baby who they thought might have been the goon with Umut, escaping in a white car. The woman agreed to return with Firat to prove that it was not Umut, but her own daughter who was taken by the woman’s estranged husband. But I agree, why add more drama to the drama.
novelera, I think it was Mahfuz who said that Halit would kill his own family before betraying Fu. I hope that is not the case, he does seem to be not so thrilled with being the head henchie anymore. I hope Reyyan gives Mirant the cold shoulder a bit longer.
Susanlynn, I am so glad you continue to comment even if you are not watching the dizi anymore. It is time for this rodeo to end, lol. I think Cihan is on his way to redemption. He didn’t even care that Miran had framed him by planting that gun. The wildcard left is Yaren. I don’t think we have seen the last of her by far.
carmella, Fu-poo another lol. You are totally correct that Azize and Fu are two peas in that vengeful pod. They both deserve the worst possible ending. Azize has suffered with the death of her sons. Fu needs a lot more suffering. Azize sure did have Fu’s number. I am glad Azra and Miran at least trusted her. My guess is Azize and Cihan are going to join forces to take Fu down.
I am so glad Umut is home.
Thanks.VVS".
....FOR RECAP......EXCUSE ...UMUT IS NOT BACK!..........fooled you...........PSYCH....!.......GOT YA! ..and that fake out...messed with my mind....really writers....?
Great recap Adriana! And for a darn pretty good episode to boot! Of course I had to watch after what happened to Jimena, and I’m so glad that she finally knows the truth! I really want her to leave Oscar, and after she smacked Romina, I wanted her to go over there and smack the crap outta Oscar too!! I hope she’s found her fight!
Loved the family solidarity too, and how accepting and non judgmental they were with Oscar even though he doesn’t deserve it……
