Mi fortuna Es Amarte 41, 4/22/22: Of Partners And Papas

Mario offers to front the fonda [little tavern/inn] serving simple neighborhood favorites that Natalia and Teresa were thinking of starting.  He'd be the silent partner.  Nat likes the idea but says she thinks the best place to locate it is there in the house.  She needs to see what Vicente thinks, though.

Andrea receives a number of bags of baby and maternity clothes.  She rudely tells the maid to take them to her aunt as they don't belong to her.

Chente walks in and wants an explanation.  Mario asks him to listen closely to what Nat has to say.  "--Sure, sure. I know to speak to the head of the circus, not to the clown. (We all know who he's talking about....) She informs him that since she hasn't any cash to rent a space she's going to put the restaurant there in the house.  "--My house?"  "--Our house!"

Constanza makes her grand appearance at the rooming house to speak to Chole.  First she must insult Gustavo about his rendezvous.

Chente is, shall we say, less than pleased to learn that not only must he turn his house into a restaurant but must abide Mario's input because he's fronting the cash.  "--That aside, do you agree on the fonda or not?"  "--Yes, but one condition: I am also made a partner."

Chole presents herself to Conz and the two have it out. "--Aren't you a bit ashamed that, despite being my husband's lover, you still live in this rooming house?"  Nope, Chole says, since all the while he was married, he was faithful and they didn't do anything dishonorable.  She was his sounding board, his good friend during all the rough times.  Now that Tavo has left her for good, she should note that she has become the woman he has chosen to remain with til death do they part.  Soon she'll realize, says Connie, that Tavo's just a weak milquetoast. "--That's why you found another guy to screw around with?"  "--How charmingly shameless you are!  So at least Tavo found somebody as common and vulgar as he is."  Connie then delights in telling her she wants her and all the other scum living there to leave by tomorrow. And of course, the beauty shop is off limits now also.  If she doesn't like it then take her to court, but Conz doubts she can afford to pay for one.  Chole is shocked into silence.  (Sad lesson in life.  Don't run your mouth blindly just because you feel like it.)

Jose Jose meets up with Juanga who is down and out because he's got no job and no money to pay for a room let alone to get married.  Even Chente is upset with him over smack talking about him and Nat in Valle de Bravo.  Jojo tells him to at least smooth things out with Chente.  Junga has an idea and wants Jojo's help.

Chole gives Valentina the bad news.  No, she's not giving anybody notice.

Tina rushes into Olga's room while Vulga is practicing black magic "--What's all this?"  Tina scolds La Vulga and blows out her candles.  This is dangerous do-do!  All for a guy that could care less about her.  Stop wasting your time!  She's throwing away a decent and devoted dude like Juanga. and for what?  Vulga says he may be great, but he'll never be Chente!  Tina warns her that if she keeps this up she'll lose Juanga and remain alone.  Chente is nothing but some dopey fantasy of hers and he'll never even give her the time of day!

When Nat and Chente come back downstairs, Nat explains to Mario that Chente's now part of the business as he's part owner of the house.  Just then Juanga and Jojo arrive with some loud receiver playing dance music outside and it's lloud enough to burst everyone's eardrums.  Party down, peeps!  Claudio and Mario are cringing.  Clod complains.  "--What's with these nacos?  Everything's a reason to party!"  Chente takes his brothers outside and tells them he doesn't need their ridiculous type of "help."  He will take care of things on his own, thank you very much.

In the meantime, Connie has shown up at Nat's.  She's surprised by the visit.  Connie tells her the boarding house and the salon are going to be vacated.  She and the family can now all have a space of their own over there.  Nata says that would be impossible because she'd be throwing all the people she knows out into the street with nowhere to go.  "--Oh, they can find a place anywhere!"  Nat says she realizes the only thing Connie is really trying to accomplish is to punish Chole because her husband fell in love with her.  That is a result of his and Connie's issues.  Couldn't she just be practical about this?  It's a business like any other.  It's full and the rents keep coming in regularly.  Leave it be; she doesn't love Tavo anyway.

Vulga thinks over what Tina has told her.  Juanga comes with his corny radio/receiver to serenade her.

Chole and Tavo enjoy the song while chatting on the bed.  (I cannot hear what exactly they're talking about except the "scandalous" music?  And/or the silly way Vulga leads Juanga around by the nose?)

Once everybody leaves, Nat has Chente and Mario hold their first business meeting.  Mario says he's not willing to have Chente as a business partner.  She says he must because Chente owns part of the house and will be fronting some of the expenses.  They argue til Nat shuts them up.  (Aye, yai-yai!)

Over at the rooming house, everyone's come to listen to the serenade.  Vulga walks out and makes nice with dopey Juanga.  Clod shows up with a couple of bottles of bubbly and makes it a real celebration.  Juanga takes Vulga to her bedroom but she stops the celebrating once he makes his intentions clear.  She tells him she's not going that far with him.  He whines that he hasn't any place to stay now.  She says he still cannot stay with her.

The next morning Magos is slow in getting up to meet with the specialist Fernando has arranged for her.  Nata will take her, not Chente and she demands that he and Juanga solve their spat.

Across the way, Nata is having morning coffee with Chole.  Chole swears to Nata that she's always respected her sister's marriage to Tavo.  Nata says she's not sure if she can figure anything out but will try to make her sister see reason so nobody there is really kicked out.  Tavo, who is still ignorant of what Conz has done, walks in on her crying at the table with Nata.

Outside, Chente and Juanga make their peace.  Juanga admits he was wrong.

Tina tells Mario what Connie did last night.  Mario tells her that by law they have to have a month's notice.  He will do his best to see that she doesn't run everyone out.

Adrian is suprised when Regina comes to the jail to see him.  He tells her how sorry he is.  Regi says she's not interested in anythng he has to say.  She's only there to demand that he gives her mother a divorce.  No, her mother doesn't know anthing about this.  He wants to explain.  Regi won't listen.  Why, after the way he left them in the street, hopeless and helpless?  Maybe Andi could be fooled, but not her.

At the same time, Andi gets a call from Omar.  He wants to explain. She won't listen.  She is out of his life forever!  Click!

Regi lays it out for Adrian.  He humiliated them all, leaving after twent years of marriage with his wife's best friend; he stole all from everyone and left them holding the bag while he went off with his lover to places unknown like the thief he is.  "--I hope you never get out of jail and that you pay for all the harm you did your family!"

Jojo is waiting for her outside.  She's in tears because despite all what she said was true, she feel horrible for having said it.  Jojo says he needed to be told and she needed to get it out.  Healthier that way.  This visit will be their secret.

Tavo tells Chole he'll speak to Connie about the rooming house.  It was something his parents began, anyway.

Chente and Benji stop in at church to pray.

Mario begs Tavo to let him handle the situation with the rooming house.  Tavo says no.  He'll get nowhere with her.  Mario says he's earned her trust so just let him try.

Andi tells Connie about Omar's call.  They are both surprised he said nothing about her pregnancy.  Connie says well, that is just the way some men are, totally irresponsible.  Andi says she hates Omi with all her being.  Connie's answer is to calm down and distance herself from him.

Omi confides in Veronica: she called him a coward and hung up on him.  Ver asks what did he expect?  Well, at least she should have heard him out, he says.  Ver says Andi's nothing more than a selfish little girl.  She has always been that way.  "--You're better off without her."

A bit later, Tavo pays Connie a visit at the manse. He came to tell her that she's not evicting anyone at the rooming house.  He tells her none of her insults affect him anymore.  "--Well, well, it took the hairdresser to finally bring the man out in you!"  "--I've come to propose a solution.  I will leave go anything unresolved in the divorce because none of it really belongs to me; all I want is the rooming house and the garage as they originally belonged to my parents."

Thank you for the marvelous recap Jardinera. Fabulous title.

Tavo's been telling Connie forever he just wants what is his, including the garage. Connie turning her evil eye toward Chloe, the beauty shop and rooming house was inevitable. It was interesting that everyone seems to think that they will be the one to change her mind and relent. I vote for Mario, but I know nothing.

So now Chente/Natalia's house is going to be restaurant too! Wow, that little house has sprouted additional wings and space invisible to the naked eye.

Sounds like Regi gave Adrian a bit of what he deserved. It took a lot of courage though and I am sure it took an emotional toll.

Considering his demon parents, has it never occurred to Andra that Omi doesn't know she's pregnant??

On Demand still has not posted this or Soltero's recaps so I have little to add.

Good afternoon Judy, hope you are having a good day! Sending you all the best and virtual hugs.

Jardinera, thank you. Your recaps always shine.

Diana

Thanks, Jardinera. The recap was excellent. Like Diana, I thought the title was great.

My favorite: the comment about Chente wanting to talk to the head of the circus and not the clown that you cited. Chente sure knows how to give a good dig.

I, too,Diana wonder where the actual restaurant going to be. Are they going to use the small area between the house and the gate? It will be interesting. Diana, if you have cable, you might be able to go to the Univision app and watch the latest episodes online. I have Comcast/Xfinity and have done this on occasion. You just have to be able to sign in with your cable provider password. Uni keeps the Uni website up to date even though at times they do not keep the cable providers up to date.

Thanks, Jardina, great recap. Connie is reaching a new low. Why doesn’t Tavo threaten her with the video?

Why does Andrea think Omar knows about the baby. She never told him! Too much was unsaid in this conversation! She doesn’t even want to speak to him but expects her mother to forgive her father! And she was so rude to the maid, she’s just like her aunt! Veronica told Omar the truth about her! Probably her only truthful moment!

Jardinera, thank you for the fun recap.

I somewhat feel sorry for Constanza, she is such a miserable person. The only time she is even half-decent is with Andrea, and of course that's for a selfish reason.

"...the silly way Vulga leads Juanga around by the nose" made me laugh. But it's true.

Very early in this TN I somewhat disliked Juanga and thought he was a ridiculous character. Well, I suppose he is a ridiculous character, but a decent enough person. Who knows? Maybe he and Olga can bring out the best in each other.

I had a laugh last night when I took a walk to the supermarket (for ice cream, of course). There were about 15 to 20 Haddad trucks lined up on 7th Ave. Haddad's is a company that does most of the catering for film and TV shoots in New York City; perhaps elsewhere too, I don't know. The cast and crew of these shoots eat pretty well   :-)

It seems they are shooting something for Gossip Girl around here and have set up for days. It's an inconvenience but it keeps a lot of people employed.

Judy, sorry, I meant to save you some ice cream, but I forgot. And since I ate it right out of the carton, I figure you wouldn't want it anyway (Ewww!)

To make up for it, I'm sending you some (virtual) fine Belgian chocolate. Good thing that these virtual gifts don't take up much room, eh?   :-)

Andy

Hardliners thank you so much for keeping me up to date since I won't. E able to watch for awhile.

In the Turkish drama Fatmagul, the family set up a restaurant with mostly outside dining on a certainties thebuilding.

Andy, thanks for giving me a morning laugh. The name Haddad means Smith (blacksmith) in Arabic. I had many Haddads in my ESL classes...siblings, spouses.
I don't eat a lot of ice cream, but my fav is coffee. I

Judy...Can you see me waving to you and sending good vibes your way)))))))

Whoops..autocorrect changed Jardinera to hardliners. I corrected it .but it changes it again. Grrrrr

Great work.

I may be experiencing computer issues being the fan that started dying on me so I may not be able to comment for a while. As to the cable issue, there has been a problem at Univision's website where I was not able to watch the most recent episodes of Soltero. That is likely related to why there have been problems with On Demand.

Of course Omar still does not know that Andrea is pregnant and Andrea is not smart enough to even wonder about that. Since secrets never stay buried we'll see how long it takes for him to find out.

I am shuddering at the idea of Constanza being a mother. I can't decide what would be worse between Constanza and Omar's parental units.

Dunno if it will register as Jardinera654 or not. Thanks all for stopping in to partake. Omar is about to be played by Ver and succumb like all the rest methinks. Grrrr! The woman keeps popping up like the pesky groundhog.

JudyB I am waving also in between flower beds here and paint in canvases!

Painted

Oh, crap. The word needed was "beyond". Stupid word program on phones.

Thanks, Jardinera.

Natalia, Mario, and Chente as business partners? I didn't see that coming. Looking forward to seeing how they fix up the dining area.

Regina has every right to be mad as hell at her pop, but no right to tell him to divorce Natalia, even though she's right. Just not her place. As the old folks use to say, "Kid, stay out of grown folks' business."

I think that they will have outdoor dining . Nat will whip up tasty treats , and news of her delicious food will spread. People learn to "make do" with whatever they have .

Susanlynn, "The name Haddad means Smith (blacksmith) in Arabic." Interesting how so many surnames come from occupations, just different words from different languages. But that's a good thing, otherwise maybe 90% of the world would be named "Smith".

As far as parents for Andrea's (and Omar's) baby, I think Andrea and Omar would be best, though she should never have gotten pregnant in the first place.

Runner up would be Sammie Haddad after she ditches Elías. I think she would be a more or less decent grandmother/mother to Chuchuíta.

Not Constanza, too much like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations.

Andy

Andy...yes, we have Baker, Cooper, Miller , etc.

Nat and Chente would make good parents (grandparents )for Chuchuito.

Elias and Con are toxic.
