Hi Herc Patio! I did a down and dirty on this recap as I have an early plane to catch in the morning and need to pack. I know I didn’t do this pivotal episode justice, so please fill in what I missed.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #102
Part 1 of 3

Lots of questions from Handan and Cihan about what Fu means about her grandson. She finally lets out some hot air and says that the guy Cihan slapped at the office kidnapped her. By this time, Hazar, Nasuh and Azzie have overheard what occurred and Hazar, with Nasuh head down to the courtyard.

Fu brings in her guard who says it was Erkan, Telemundo called him Hercan, (the disgruntled employee) blocked his way while brining Yaren to the konak. The guard tells Cihan the message was for him. We learn that Fu beat up her own guard for not protecting Yaren. Fu demands that Cihan fix his mistake and find her grandchild. Handan in ticked that Fu has no care for Yaren and Nasuh has to hold her back from slapping the old gas bag down. Meanwhile, Fu and Azize stare coolly at each other. Azize does not seem to believe Fu at all.

Hazar and Cihan argue outside as Cihan thinks that Hazar defended the guy that kidnapped his daughter. Cihan takes off to find Yaren. Hazar calls Ali to help him find Erkan. He takes off in his car as Fu saunters out of the Sad konak and blows more hot air about taking down the Sadoglu family.

Miran thinks about the comments Zehra made the night before about stopping Reyyan from giving birth. He pretends to be asleep when Rey enters the room. She is on to him and when he starts whining about what Zehra said about dragging her to potential death, she shushes him and tells him there is something she wants him to see.

It appears Cihan is following leads given to him by Halef and encounters Fu at one of Erkan’s aunt’s house. She snarks that he is always once step behind. They exchange verbal jabs and then Cihan gets a call and jumps in the car. Fu smiles smugly, clearly this must be part of a plot/plan.

Nasuh is taking a call from his minions who have heard nothing. Mahmut reports to Azize that he has not heard a thing from his spies either. Hazar enters the Sad courtyard and gets a call from Erkan who claims that Fu has set a trap for Cihan using the kidnapping as a ruse. He claims that Fu doesn’t want to hurt Yaren, just scare her, but he is afraid things will go very badly and tells Hazar to come and stop it before it does. Hazar rushes out and Azize looks concerned.

Reyyan (I am sure with the help of Azra and Zeynep) has set up a romantic Wishing Tree near the peer. She tells Miran that everything he has ever made her believe is written down in one of the twinkling light test tubes. She doesn’t want him to stop believing now. She has written down all their catch phrases as proof of what they can do. In the end, if he doesn’t believe, then she does not exist. She says they have nothing to lose by trying.

Cihan is driving to find Yaren based on the call he received and ignores calls from Hazar. Hazar is furious. Cihan pulls off the road, takes his gun out of the glove compartment and leaves his cell on the passenger seat. He says to no one, I am coming to get you my daughter and you Erkan are going to pay for what you did.

Back to the Reyyan made Wishing Tree, Rey continues to be positive about the slim chance at staying alive. Miran begins to gather up all the notes she left for him, but then Reyyan gets a bad and different pain. By the time Miran has carried her to the car, she realizes that her water has broken and Umut is on the way. She worries it is too soon.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #102
Part 2 of 3

ReyMir arrive at the hospital in dramatic fashion with the whole Midyat posse in tow. Reyyan begs Dr. Turan not to drug her so she can see and smell Umut at least once. Miran reminds Dr. Turan that he promised to make right his daughter’s death and it starts with Reyyan. Azar tells Miran that they can go into the delivery room and they head back to prepare while Zehra gets hysterical.

In the delivery room, Rey again asks to see her baby at least once before she dies but Miran tells her that she is one who believes in miracles, they both believe in miracles. We promised each other to take our son home, together. Rey nods in agreement. Dr. Turan is calm and hopeful as the delivery begins and Reyyan manages her pain by squeezing the prayer beads Hazar gave her.

Meanwhile, Hazar arrives at some desolate location looking for the idiot Cihan but finds only his car. Right behind him pulls in Azize who has followed him. He tells her to leave but she says something is not right with the situation and she has a bad feeling about it. They hear a single gun shot and Hazar hurries off to find Cihan. Azize sends Mahmut around to flank Hazar as she follows her son. Cihan is walking stealthily through the trees until more shots are fired and then he starts yelling for Yaren. Hazar is running, pistol raised, trying to find Cihan. This goes on a for a bit then there is more gun fire. Out of nowhere, Azize touches Hazar’s shoulder, startling him. She begs him to leave immediately because something is not right.

Cihan sees them together and remembers the conversation he had with Azize. He comes to the immediate conclusion that Azize is behind Yaren’s disappearance. Suddenly more shots are fired and Azize is hit! She falls to her knees as Hazar tries to help her. He checks her wound and says it is a flesh wound. He tells her to stay there and apply pressure to the wound, he needs to find Cihan. She begs him not to go, he still leaves her and she passes out.

Meanwhile, Reyyan is in full labor. Lots of pain and pushing. Miran seems supportive.

Back in the forest, Hazar is still looking for his idiot brother. When he finds him, he tells Cihan they must leave right away, it is a trap. Cihan isn’t buying his story and wants to know how Hazar knew where to find him. He accuses Hazar of covering for Azize who kidnapped Yaren. Azize comes too and sees the scuffle between the two from a slight distance away. She begs Hazar to move away. Hazar continues to try and get Cihan to leave. Another shot rings out and Hazar grabs his chest and falls to the ground.

Azize screams like a banshee as we cut back to Reyyan screaming in pain. The beads in her hand rip apart and fall on the labor room floor. Umut is born but there are a few tense seconds because he is not making a sound. Then Umut cries and ReyMir are relieved. Reyyan able to hold and smell her baby boy. She calls him a miracle. ReyMir welcome their son into the world. (He is a pretty cute kid).

Hazar calls out to Cihan and asks for help but the coward Cihan leaves his brother on the ground. Azize manages to reach Hazar and hold his head, begging God to take her instead. Cihan just watches this unfold as does Fusun from the shadows. She says, Azize will live and live with the pain of watching her son die in her hands. Her grandchild will do the same.

Hazar dying words are “I entrust my children to you…Mother.” The dark scene ends with an overshot view of Azize, Hazar and Cihan.

Hercai: Amor y Venganza – Season 2 Episode #102
Part 3 of 3

Back in the delivery room, Umut is quiet and cute. Although he looks full term, the nurse takes him from Reyyan to put him in an incubator. Miran watches his son and then hugs Dr. Turan. Meanwhile, no one is watching Reyyan. She seems to go into a dreamlike state and sees herself, in that white dress, twirling around with a 4-year-old looking Umut. Seeing her in this state, Miran freaks out and shows her the last item on his list: Together, take our son home. A tear rolls down her face as she passes out and the doctor demands that Miran leave. He buries his head in her hair and begs her to stay. (This is the end of the Turkish episode 65).

In another Tibetan tea induced dream state, Reyyan wakes up in a room covered in welcome balloons for Umut and sees her daughter in the doorway asking her to leave Umut with her dad and for Reyyan to come with her. Rey follows the twin through the hospital and up a staircase to a red door. Back in the labor room, Dr. Turan is shocking Reyyan’s heart to bring her back. He vows not to leave her on the table to die like his daughter, he orders a higher shock voltage. Out in the waiting room, Miran is having a major meltdown. Firat has to physically restrain him as Azra tells him to calm down.

Reyyan opens the red door and finds her daughter waiting for her (geez for a minute I thought it might be Hazar!). She takes her hand and they both walk barefoot in the grass as the red door slams in our face. More real-life heart shocks in the labor room, as Reyyan continues to walk with the twin. She stands overlooking a cliff, suddenly Miran shows up and tells her not to go. She says she has to go, it is time. At 250 volts, she launches off the cliff and Miran watches her fall. He does not jump after her because he looks down a sees a small white bag at his feet that says “welcome Umut.”

Now we are back in Midyat at Hazar’s funeral. Many people have gathered and Miran is there too, so is Reyyan okay? Zehra and the girls aren’t there so maybe she stayed with Reyyan and Umut? (This episode is giving me an emotional headache). The Iman is praying. Azize has her arm in a sling. Nasuh looks devastated. He, Miran, Firat and Ali serve as pall bearers and carry the casket to the cemetery. Hazar’s shoes are on the very Sad konak door step.

We go through the funeral (I don’t have time to write each detail) and it is sad. The burial ritual is fascinating to watch.

Miran places a fistful of dirt in his pocket and as he and Nasuh, who can barely stand, shovel in the dirt, Cihan, in handcuffs arrives at the cemetery. This is the end of the episode.

Wow, VVS, you've done a marvellous job! You've captured everything important and helped clarify some things that I didn't understand.

So Hercan calls Hazar and tells him Fusun made him kidnap Yaren as part of a trap for Cihan. I'm not sure how she could have made Hercan do this, nor how she even knew that Hercan had a grievance against Cihan (or was even the grievance made up as part of the trap?).

And yes, Azize shows up at the forest scene. How she knows about this is anyone's guess. Dizi magic, I think. And part of her dizi magic is having a sense that something bad will happen and Hazar should leave. Alas, her dizi magic didn't prevent her from getting shot, presumably by one of Fusun's goons (and presumably at Fusun's order). It's impressive that the darkness of the forest didn't prevent the goon from seeing Azize and aiming skillfully. And, though Hazar couldn't see Cihan until he was almost touching him, Fusun's goon was able to see well enough to shoot again and hit Hazar in the chest, killing him.

VVS, I loved your saying that when Hazar is shot, Azize "screams like a banshee." A perfect description!

Why does Cihan attend the funeral in handcuffs? It seemed clear he didn't shoot Hazar. Did he shoot Azize?

And yes, Umut sure does look like a full-term baby.

Miran goes into meltdown mode as soon as Reyyan is unresponsive. What he should have done is leave the OR (as they asked him to do) and let the doctor deal with Reyyan. Instead, he just gets in the way and makes them have to deal with him instead of Reyyan. Of course, if Miran hadn't had hundreds of prior meltdowns, I might have felt sympathetic toward him. Instead, I was just annoyed.

Thanks, VVS, for explaining that the small white bag said "Welcome Baby Umut." I saw the bag, had no idea what it was, and heard a voice say "Welcome Baby Umut," but I didn't connect the voice with the bag.

So we're left wondering whether Reyyan has survived. All the woo-woo dreams give the impression that she died, but I don't believe that. (Then again, my prediction record is pretty poor. For example, I thought it would be Zehra who would die, not Hazar.) Still, the abundance of signs pointing to Reyyan's death seem to me an indication that she's alive.

Thanks again for this excellent recap. And special thanks for doing it in spite of having to leave early in the morning.

Great on point, on the run (haha) recap VVS! Safe travels to you, and rest when you can so that you’ll be able to spit out more of these excellent recaps!

Pivotal episode indeed! Once again, all roads lead to Fusun and seems that we will never be rid of her ANNOYING azz! Why is it sooooooo easy for these people to kill??? It makes no sense! Do you really get satisfaction out of killing someone so that you might feel better about the way things have turned or not turned out in your life??? Is revenge really sweeter? And if your religion has taught you nothing else, hasn’t it taught you that you will pay for the harm that you inflict?!?!?! Make it make sense people!!!

I, for one, am sad to see Hazar go ( although I had major spidey sense going on with him). Hazar for all his tears, always tried to do the right thing. He has paid the ultimate price for the sins of others, but he has also received the gift of rest with Allah for his goodness and suffering. The funeral ceremony was beautiful and sad, but a great tribute to Hazar the man. So much tragedy in just a few days! Sad indeed! Where was Zehra?? And I hoped to see Azat too?? Cihan’s lack of everything that a brother should be, was put on full display. For all his bluster, jealousy, pettiness and ill conceived conclusions, he froze without being able to lift a finger to help Hazar——stunned into uselessness like a frozen statue……. I felt Azize’s pain—— she has now lost all her sons……

I also felt Miran’s pain in the hospital, for all his previous meltdowns. I have seen many a family member have the same reaction that he did. Most people are VERY selfish when it comes to their loved ones——-especially at the possibility of imminent death. I don’t believe that Reyyan is dead either, and yes, that adorable, cute as a button baby was NOWHERE near “too early,” lol.

Time for Fu to die a slow, agonizing and painful death—-or to live a life incapacitated. She needs to suffer a debilitating stroke or something, where she can only see the world, but not interact with it on any level. Where she can cause no more harm, and where a mean spirited orderly smacks her in the head every day just because! But knowing Reyyan, she’ll forgive her, visit her everyday, bring her treats, and be the consummate cheerleader that she is, lol!

Where is this story going now??? Thank goodness it’s almost OVER too!!

Thanks again so much VVS! Stay safe and be well!

Thank you Juanita, carmella and HalimaCandy for the early morning terrific comments. I am glad the recap made some sense. I was sad that Hazar died and I am not sure Cihan realized what was going on. Did he think he accidentally shot his brother? We know it was Fusun, but wow how evil can this woman get? She deserves a huge anvil at the end.

That little twin girl sure keeps coming back for her parents, maybe grampa Hazar can entertain her a bit in heaven.

Thanks for the travel well wishes!

Herc

First thanks to all who commented on Friday’s recap. Now many thanks to VVS for a fab recap under pressure. Hope you have a safe trip.

This is typical Turkish drama BS. They killed Hazar who did not deserve this and the bad guys live to see another day. At least Telemundo didn’t mess with the funeral.

Boy, Azize is certainly cursed. All her sons and siblings had awful, untimely deaths. Am I supposed to forgive her now? Maybe…

Seemed that Azize got in the way of a bullet meant for Hazar. But it looks like Cihan was arrested for shooting Hazar, a la Yaren & Harun, even if we know Fusun did it. Wonder what the various Sadoglu family reactions will be. Cihan needs to suffer. Fusun better not get away with this. Death is too easy an out for her.

I don’t have time to review the Turkish ep. but that sudden transition to the funeral was weird. At least we know it’s Hazar because a man’s shoes were outside the door.

I wish that little twin girl came to get Miran instead.

Good grief if they kill off both Hazar and Rey I might have to quit watching dizis! But I think Rey will live because Miran said if Rey jumped he would jump in after her. So, I think he managed to “save” her. Another clue: Zehra was missing from Hazar’s funeral.

herc

Thanks so much, VVs. You get the gold medal for having to write this stuff down. I was pretty shellshocked. Just a couple of days ago I posted something about Hazar's death being too painful for both Reyyan and Miran, so I didn't expect it.

If I never see another white clothed woo-woo scene it will be too soon.

I thought Cihan did shoot his brother. Am I hallucinating? I thought Hazar and Cihan were struggling together and the gun went off. Cihan in handcuffs made me sure that was what I saw. I always delete the episode right after watching to save space on my DVR, so I can't watch again unless I do so on the Telemundo web site and submit to commercials.

Azize's grief was well acted by the best actor in the whole show, including that frozen, white face at the funeral.

I really, truly hated this episode. Between Zehra and MEran at the hospital, it's amazing the doctor could do anything.

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 44, Lunes, April 18, 2022 - Parte 1/6

WARNING: For some odd reason, the subtitles didn't work at all. So I recapped it without using any. Not that big of a loss, since they sucked anyway. If you feel like there's something important missing, please add it. Most of my gaps aren't on important things, fortunately.

We left off episode 43 with Bertha foolishly opening the cupboard door to Romina, who, of course, attacked her.

We get an epic fight scene between Bertha and Romina. Romina tries to strangle her, but Bertha hits her with her leg and manages to leave. Romina is not happy about this. She runs behind Bertha.

Duvan is on his bike when he sees Juan, who is riding his horse. Juan sees him and calls him by his name. Duvan leaves quickly. Juan says something that I didn't catch and leaves from the other direction.

Bertha and Romina are still running. Bertha hides behind a wall and Romina looks around, grumpy. Romina didn't see Bertha. I think that, at one point, Bertha saw Romina's face, so she should be able to recognise her later on. We'll see.

Duvan went home and is knocking on his house's door. He asks "Mom, did you come back?" but, as expected, no answer. Duvan knocks a bit more and somebody opens the door. Duvan is looking a bit scared.

Romina, wearing the same backpack as always, is still looking around. She starts to move to Bertha's direction. She finds her, grabs her by her neck and throws her down the building! We can see Bertha with blood next to her head, so it's not looking good!

Norma is pushing Don Martín on his wheelchair. Don M says something about a dream that he had, Doming was in it and she was in danger. He tells Norma that he has to protect Dominga because she has been taking care of him and protects him as well. He wants to get her out of Gabriela's house. Norma tells him to calm down and that it was just a dream. She sees Juan and asks him where he was. He says that he was at the mill house.

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 44, Lunes, April 18, 2022 - Parte 2/6

Turns out the one who was inside of Romina's house was Madrina (expected). She asks Duvan where his mom is and he says he doesn't know. She says something to herself and asks Duvan when he last saw her, I think. Duvan says "last night" and that he's scared. Madrina talks to herself again (says something about death) and Duvan tells her not to say such things and even calls her "Madrina"! Madrina tells him that she's not his madrina (lol). She'll make something to eat and wait for Romina, they have to talk. I love the fact that people who would have been creepy/evil in other telenovelas (Madrina, Gunther) are actually likeable in this, especially compared to the rest of the baddies.

Meanwhile, Romina and her backpack have exited Jimena's and Óscar's house and are running. I like the music that's playing in the background.

Juan is telling Norma about his visit to the mill house. He didn't see Romina, but he saw Duvan, he was alone. He didn't want to talk to him. He says something else that I didn't understand and something about him wanting to protect Norma, I believe. Norma doesn't want him to go back to that mill house. Juan says that he'll talk to Óscar and they hug.

Madrina asks Duvan if he knows when Romina left and he says that he doesn't. She asks him something and he responds with yes. I guess she asked him about the box with the spider? Duvan also says after a bit about some clothes (I assume that he's taking about the black witch-cape-thing Romina is wearing). Duvan says that he doesn't want anything bad to happen and Madrina reassures him.

Romina is walking and looking around. She removes the black witch-cape-thing that she's wearing and puts it inside her backpack.

Madrina wants Duvan to come with her but he doesn't want to. Madrina tells him that he can't stay here alone, but he still doesn't want to go. Madrina says that they'll be able to calls Romina. Duvan tells her that Romina left her phone here. Madrina drags Duvan outside the house and Romina finally returns. Duvan goes to hug her, but that bitch (again, sorry for the word, but I couldn't find a more polite one for her) pushes him away! TWICE! As Madrina asks her what happened, Romina says she wants to sleep, goes to the door and passes out. Madrina checks for her pulse and touches her forehead. She says "está caliente" (Google translate says it means "she's warm").

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 44, Lunes, April 18, 2022 - Parte 3/6

Óscar is talking to Cosme on the phone. He tells him about the spider on the bed and asks him if he's with Bertha. Cosme isn't at the moment, but he's going to the house, so he'll find her.

Madrina says that Romina has a fever. Romina tells Madrina and Duvan that she's tired. Duvan says that he was scared and thought she had died(?) (I definitely heard "morir" or something similar). Romina says something (like "weren't you at school"? I heard "escuela") and Duvan replies with something that contained the word "tarde". The only time when subtitles could be useful, they weren't there!

Cosme gets in the house and starts screaming "Bertha! Bertha!" She obviously doesn't respond and Cosme finds her where she ended up after the push from Romina. He freaks out and tells Óscar how he found her on the phone. Óscar tells Jimena, who gets upset. Cosme has called some guys (when he called them, he used the word "muchachos") and one of them says "se mató", so he thinks Bertha died. I want Bertha to survive just to say who was the one who attacked her. Romina needs some sort of punishment.

Madrina finds an excuse and tells Duvan to leave the room. He does so. Madrina asks Romina "where were you and what were you doing?"

The intro song plays.

Romina is refusing to respond to all the questions Madrina asks her. Madrina then asks about the spider. Romina says that she doesn't know what happened to it. Madrina says something about Óscar Reyes.

Jimena is at the spot where Romina was when she threw Bertha and is upset. Cosme has called an ambulance and the people from the ambulance are talking Bertha in. Jimena wants to go with them, but Óscar tells her not to go. He goes with them and tells Jimena to take care.

Norma is talking on the phone with Jimena. Jimena has told her everything. Norma asks if anyone was with Bertha or if she was alone. We can't see nor hear Jimena, we only see Norma. She tells Jimena to calm down and to wait for her. The twins are there and she tells them what happened quickly. They ask her if they should go with her and Norma says no. She leaves and takes Quintina with her. Érik says something about Óscar and themselves. León says he's sorry for Bertha and something else. They leave.

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 44, Lunes, April 18, 2022 - Parte 4/6

Duvan asks Romina If she's feeling better. She says she does and Duvan asks her where she was. Romina tells him "so, now you're a snitch?" ('sapo', the translations I found are toad and snitch). From the rest of the conversation, I caught "Madrina si fue" and "cerrato cosas". Duvan goes to get the cosas and Romina tells him to come here. When Duvan does so, she tells him "if you're asked, say she I here all day". Duvan nods, looking a bit scared again.

Norma and Jimena are standing at the same spot Jimena was before the ambulance took Bertha. Norma says that very strange things are happening in this house and that it's not normal. Jimena tells her about the spider. Norma says that Jimena should calm down. They're walking. They end up where Bertha was (the cupboard) before the attack. Norma sees that it's open and tells Jimena. She touches something (I heard her say "tierra", which reminded me of Tierra de Reyes, the Pasión remake). Jimena says that Duvan was here, I think and Norma tells her something and that it doesn't make sense. Quintina comes behind Jimena and tells them that Jimena has to see (did she say "them"?).

Romina is burning the black witch-cape-thing and the red mask and Duvan walks in on that. He asks her why she's burning them and Romina says that she doesn't need them anymore. She says something with the words "elimina" and "peligro" in it.

Some women are going to help Jimena out now that Bertha is gone (that's what Betha was talking about). They even wear the same uniforms. Norma tells Quintina to show to them the house and they leave. Jimena tells Norma that the doctor (Álvarez) told her the exam results and that it showed a drug. Jimena says it's weird and she though that they're wrong, since she's not taking anything. She doesn't know what is going on and what to think. She says that bad things are happening.

Andrés is eating with Sarita and Muriel. He tells Muriel that Rosi asked him for her, but he didn't say anything. Sarita says that Andrés has principles. Andrés tells Muriel "______ Rosi cualquier cosa regresas", so I guess he said that Rosi would do anything for Muriel to come back and something about searching ("buscar"). Muriel says that he mom has her character/personality + something else (I think I heard "I don't think so" somewhere). Gaby comes to the table and sits down. Andrés says that Rosi is waiting for Muriel to quit the relationship.

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 44, Lunes, April 18, 2022 - Parte 5/6

Sarita laughs and Gaby says that Rosi will wait forever, because neither Muriel nor JD will quit the relationship and Muriel agrees. Andrés talks about Muriel and "su galán de pueblo" lol. Sarita says "Quién es ese hombre?" and the intro song plays from the specific lyric and forth as Muriel gets out and kisses JD.

A car drives to Norma's house and Óscar gets out. He walks to the house.

León asks Norma how Bertha is and if they have any news. Norma says that it's serious, tells them exactly what happened and says that weird things are happening e.t.c. Érik jokes about the house being cursed, but not even León is in the mood. Norma tells him not to joke with such a delicate matter and that, if they knew what has been going on at Jimena's, they wouldn't have been that calm. They tell Norma to inform them - maybe they could help. Óscar walks in. Norma asks him if he has news about Bertha and he says that she's at the hospital. Norma tells him that she send some people to help and Óscar thanks her. Óscar asks if Juan is here, because he wants to ask him something. Érik says that he hasn't come back and that he has to wait. Óscar wants to talk to the twins alone.

They go to a different room. Óscar asks them if the extortionist called and the twins say that he called this morning and that he/she changed their mind last minute. I think they said something about them not wanting any money? The twins say that it's the best thing, especially now that they have Jimena to take care of. Óscar says it doesn't make sense, doesn't believe them and thinks they're lying (obviously). The twins try to convince him they're not lying when Norma walks in and wants to talk to Óscar alone. Óscar says that he just finished with the twins and gets out of the room. The twins say something with the words "vuele" and "rechando" in it, I think, but I didn't understand what exactly.

JD asks Muriel "why don't you want to live with me?" Muriel tells him that it's not that she doesn't want to, she just doesn't want to cause problems. I didn't understand much from their discussion, Muriel said something about conflict and her parents and they kissed twice.

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 44, Lunes, April 18, 2022 - Parte 6/6

Norma and Óscar go in another room. Norma wants to talk about the people who live in the mill house. Óscar says that this is his business and Norma tells him that it's also Jimena's. She says that he's lying to Jimena and Óscar asks her who told her that, Jimena? Nope, Romina did. In this house, they're supposed to be living 3 people, a couple and their kid, but it's just Romina and Duvan. Óscar gets upset and wants to leave, telling Norma not to interfere with his personal life.

Norma asks him if there's something else that he's not telling her and that something doesn't fit. She says Romina is aggressive and mistreats her son. Óscar basically repeats what he said previously and Norma tells him that Jimena is obsessed with the mill house and with Duvan. She asks Óscar if Romina is the daughter of the employee of the house and I don't think he actually answered.

Now Óscar is at his house. Jimena tells him to eat, but he doesn't want to and he's all grumpy because Jimena told Norma about the mill house. They fight a bit and Óscar suggests going on vacation (is he doing this in order to be with Jimena on vacation when Madrina sacks Romina, so she doesn't suspect him?) Jimena refuses (one reason is Bertha, who is at the hospital) and leaves the room.

Rosi asks Andrés where Muriel is. He doesn't tell her, but tells her that she's alright, I think. He also tells her that Muriel and JD truly love each other. Gunther comes in and Andrés leaves. Gunther tells Rosi that her daughter is at Sarita's house!

The extortionist calls León and tells him "León Reyes. ___________ Are you and your brother ready to fulfill your commitment?"

And we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Also, as Darcy said, no Pasión on this Thursday because of the Latin America Music Awards.

Novelera, after reading your comment about Cihan shooting Hazar, I went back to my recording and re-played that scene several times, but I found it impossible to tell whether Cihan shot Hazar. All that I know is that Cihan seemed surprised, and Fusun did not seem surprised. She not only didn't seem surprised, she was delighted that Azize had lost her last son, and Fusun also vowed that Azize would live to mourn her grandson as well. It may well be that Cihan thought he shot Hazar, which is why he is in handcuffs at the funeral. Or, a la Harun, the struggle resulted in Cihan's gun going off unintentionally. Or Fusun's goon shot Hazar. Perhaps an examination of the bullet and the shell casing will determine whether the fatal wound came from Cihan's gun. Whether there will be such an examination is unclear. Sigh.

Herc

My question is where was Mahmoud during all this running through the woods and gunshots going off???? He NEVAH EVAH leaves Azize’s side…especially when there’s trouble……a case of forward storying I guess……..

I also thought Fu’s goon shot Hazar——doesn’t look like there’ll be an autopsy either……..the distance at which someone is shot is very easy to determine……..

Herc

I'm sitting at the airport. My flight has been delayed due to the weather in NY. I agree with Juanita's observations of the shooting. Anything is possible, but I'm betting one of Fusun's goons did it and she's all too happy to see it pinned on Cihan.

I think it will be sorted out, but I hope not too quickly. I want Cihan to suffer for a while.

Thank you Weirdo for your fantastic recap!! So much going on in this episode....most of it bad (for a change, not!)

I was so happy when Berta fought back at first, I thought, this chick has some fight in her maybe she'll live, then she just ran and hid behind that ledge and I couldn't figure out why....go to the house, lock a door, use a phone. Run to the parking lot and honk the horns and get the cowboys to come running, something! Why did she just squat behind that ledge....oh that's right because that's what the script says! Sigh.

Martin's dream that he was telling Norma - he basically dreamt what happened to Berta, except in his dream it was Dominga that was in trouble and Dimi was the one tossing her off the roof.

I can't remember exactly what Juan said to Duvan but it seemed instantly fond of him. It reminded me of his reaction to Muriel and how he instantly liked her. He seems enchanted and he told Norma later that he instantly felt a strong desire to protect him and he had a feeling that the boy was in danger (Good call!) He's now just as interested as Jimena and Norma in what's going on and I hope it stays that way because that little boy needs help and his stupid dad isn't going to be the one to give it.

Speaking of stupid dad, Oscar suggested vacation to Jimena to run away from his problems like the coward he is!! Norma has her suspicions and he wants to run away before he gets caught. He didn't even want to hear Norma's worries that the people in that house could be involved in anything he just rudely told her to stay out of his business. Then when Norma asked if Romina was the daughter of their old housekeeper, not only did he not answer he told Norma to never set foot in his house again!!! Talk about overkill, he might as well have confessed because that was a big old 'I'm Guilty' flashing neon sign!!! I am so disgusted with Oscar I can't even tell you, then he goes home and gaslights Jimena telling her he fought with Norma and it's all HER fault because she told her sister about their personal business......ick

When Norma and Jimena were in the room she did say 'tierra' (Like Tierra de Reyes which was a very good show too and an adaptation of PDG) Tierra means land, or in the context Norma used it dirt. She was telling Jimena that their were footprints and dirt in the closet/safe and they were wondering if they should call the police because maybe someone attacked Berta.

Leon had said that he was sorry this happened to Berta but it was good for them because Uncle Oscar would be too busy to worry about what they were up to (too bad he was wrong about that) and later they told Oscar that the extortionist gave them more time. Not that he didn't want the money at all, just that they could have more time to get it together - which was a lie of course and Oscar didn't believe them. But after he told Norma to stay away from him he also said he would leave the twins alone too if that's what she wanted. Norma didn't say she wanted that but I'm sure he would have no problem abandoning his nephews to serve his own self-interest. Have a mentioned I can't stand him?

Pasion

Also very weird when the guy found Berta - he called Oscar and asked him to call an ambulance!!!??? He said he didn't have the number? I guess it's not as simply as calling 911 in Mexico.

Pasion

Truly hope the police do a complete CSI type investigation and find Rominas' fingerprints. Norma is already questioning that it might be an intruder. I guess Oscar will interfere with the investigation to some point.

Looking forward to see what happens in next episode, that starts in about 20 minutes.

Have a good night

Thanks for filling the gaps, Darcy!

Lol I was sitting here thinking how to translate "tierra". I thought of land, but didn't think of dirt xD

Óscar is the worst!

I also hoped Bertha would do something else than hide, like get a heavy object and hit Romina in the head, for example. But no, she had to HIDE.

I also hope the police do a search and find Romina's fingerprints, but I doubt it. I think she'll get uncovered at the end of the show, as most villains do, unfortunately.

Thank you to all for your comments!

Hercai2: #103 - p 1 of 3
The episode opens at Hazar Sadoglu's burial. Miran shovels earth over Hazar's coffin in the grave, as does Firat. Cihan, in handcuffs, comes to do likewise. Nasuh is standing next to him and asks him "What are you doing here? I had two sons, and I buried both of them today." Cihan replies, "You still don't believe that I didn't kill him." As he is shovelling earth, he hears people muttering that he's an assassin, he killed his brother. Cihan calls out, "I didn't kill my brother! How could I kill him?" He then mutters to himself, "I don't care what anyone thinks. I'm going to pay my debt to my brother." [I assume he means by shovelling the earth over the coffin.]

Suddenly we see Hercan at the cemetary. He thinks to himself, "I have to talk to you, Señor Miran. Only you can save my family from Fusun. I'll tell you everything that happened." Fusun's goons spot him. He starts to run. Fusun orders the goons to get him. Running near the burial site, Hercan calls out, "Miran Sadoglu, come after me!" and continues to run. Miran tells Firat to go after him. Fusun's goons come back and admit they couldn't find Hercan. Fusun isn't pleased. She says she knows that Miran will keep insisting on this. And if not Miran, Cihan will be knocking at her door as soon as he is released. They have to find Hercan. It will be useless if he dies. He has to be brought back alive so he can say that it was Cihan Sadoglu who planned everything by himself.

Miran tells Firat that he has to go back to Istanbul to be with Reyyan. However, he adds, "if anything happens to Reyyan, take care of my son." Firat tells Miran not to say that. Miran gives his usual "If Reyyan doesn't exist, neither does Miran." [Sorry, but by now, every time I hear this, I yawn.] Firat tells Miran, "Go to Istanbul and come back. Then you can mourn for your father, and you and Reyyan can raise Umut together." Firat then changes the subject: "I hate Cihan Sadoglu a lot, but I know that he loved Hazar." Miran asks, "Are you saying he didn't do it? My abuela was there, and she says she saw him shoot Hazar." Firat replies that Yaren was also there, and she says the opposite. Miran says, "You're right. There's more to this story than we know."

The scene shifts to the hospital in Istanbul. Reyyan lies in bed, unconscious, with an oxygen mask on her face. Zehra is watching from the window. Mahfouz joins her. Zehra tells him, I saw all this in a dream. There was a coffin. I thought it was for Reyyan, but it turned out to be for Hazar. I had no idea he'd die the day his grandson was born." Mahfouz is very sympathetic. Zehra continues: "My children lost their father. I lost...my heart. If I hadn't stopped him from coming to Istanbul...." Mahfouz points out that she couldn't know what would happen. Zehra continues, "How will I explain this to Reyyan? What will I tell her?" She cries.

Azize, Nasuh, and some of the others return to the SAD konak. They enter, seeing Hazar's shoes at the entryway. Seyda is among those who have entered. He tells Nasuh that always thought very highly of Hazar, and so he has come to prepare special foods for the mourners. Nasuh tells him the house staff can handle everyting. Seyda says, "Well, if there's anything you need...." [I had the feeling he was trying his best to be asked to move back to the Sadoglu konak and away from Fusun.]

Azize enters one of the bedrooms. Perhaps Hazar and Zehra's? [I have a hard time remembering whose room is whose in the various konaks.] She closes the door and smells one of Hazar's sweaters, as she murmurs "Hijo, hijo, hijo." She remembers his saying "Please take care of my children, Mother" as he lay dying.

Hercai2: #103 - p 2 of 3

At the hospital, Dr. Turan offers Miran his condolences on Hazar's death. "I pray that no parent has to bury a child." [Clearly, he's thinking of his dead daughter, but it seems a strange thing to say, since Umut is apparently doing well, and Hazar was Miran's father, not his son.] Miran thanks him for his condolences and for keeping him informed while he was away. The doctor then tells Miran that they've decided to wake Reyyan up. She has been unconscious for two days, but she seems to have responded well. "What if she doesn't wake up?" asks Miran. The doctor admits that that's a possibility, but Reyyan is strong. She fought for her son, and she'll fight for her life. The doctor then urges Miran to come with him to see Umut.

They go into the room with the incubators. The doctor tells Miran that Umut is a good-size baby, but he's still fighting for his life. The doctor then removes Umut from the incubator and tries to give him to Miran to hold. Miran is remembering all kinds of things he had said to Reyyan. He moves away from the doctor and doesn't take Umut in his arms. Instead, he says, "When his mother wakes up, we'll hold him together."

Outside Reyyan's hospital room, Zehra confronts Miran. She accuses him of making Reyyan believe in a fairy tale that can't come true. She also berates him for not holding Umut. "What if Reyyan doesn't survive? You have to save Umut." Miran insists that Reyyan isn't going to die. Then he (and perhaps Zehra as well) remember how a furious Zehra cursed him at the start. "But I forgave you long ago," Zehra says. "And also because you were Hazar's son. How could I know that my curses would come back to haunt me? It's ALL MY FAULT! She sinks to the floor, muttering "my fault, my fault." Miran puts his arms around her and tries to reassure her.

We next see Miran watching the still unconscious Reyyan through the window. Behind him, seated, are Zehra and Mahfouz. Zehra is still very worried (surprise, surprise). Mahfouz tells her that Reyyan won't leave us waiting, nor will she leave Umut without his mother and father for much longer. Miran looks at Zehra and then goes off. He enters the incubator room. The nurse picks up Umut and gives him to Miran. She tells him he has five minutes. He asks whether he can take down his mask. Somewhat to my surprise, she pulls it down. [I guess scent trumps germs.] Miran looks at Umut and tells him, "Your mother was right. You are the vision of perfection, and your smell is better than anything. You are your parents' hope. This is our first father-son talk, although I did say a lot to you while you were in your mother's belly. But this is a different experience. I'm sorry, son. Everything is very difficult when your mother isn't around. You'll understand when you're older. You'll say, 'you were right, papa.'" Miran is overcome with emotion. He continues, "You're mother is sleeping. She was very tired after bringing you into the world. She will wake up. She won't leave us." He kisses Umut, and smells him. "I'll tell your mother that you send your scent with me." Miran cries.

In the courtyard of the Aslanbey konak, Fusun is berating Halit, her chief goon, for not finding Hercan. She hits Halit with her cane. He tells her they looked everywhere. It's as if they disappeared into thin air. "Everything should have ended that night," she says. "It was suposed to end the night Hazar died. Why did I trust you?"

We then see a flashback to that night. One of her goons shows her a gun--Cihan's. The goon explains that Cihan was unconscious. "He heard the girl scream and he went to rescue her. Then I hit him on the head."

herc
Hercai2: #103 - p 3 of 3

Fusun tells the goon to hide the gun well. "It's Cihan's only salvation. If they find it, they'll know that he didn't kill Hazar." Hercan is present. Fusun tells him not to look so terrified. Hercan says, "Hazar was a good man, and he said he'd help me. Did he have to die?" Fusun responds, "You did this for your family, right? No matter how good a man is, what's important is family. You traded Hazar for your family. Don't worry. I'll give you plenty of money in exchange." Hercan says he doesn't want the money. He demands to know where his brother is, where his family is. Fusun tells one of the goons to take Hercan to see his family. Suddenly, Hercan hits the goon and runs off. All the goons give chase, but they're unsuccessful.

Fusun is worried that Hercan will find Miran, and Miran will offer to protect his family in exchange for Hercan's telling him everything about the plot. Halit points out that Hercan led Hazar to the trap, so he'd risk being punished. Fusun tells him that she knows people like Hercan. "If it means saving his vamily, he'd let himself be burned at the stake." She lets Halit know that if he can find Hercan before Miran gets back to Midyat, that would be great. Otherwise, don't bother coming back.

Yaren has come out of her room and has heard at least this last part of the conversation between Fusun and Halit. Fusun asks Yaren why she isn't in her room. She replies that she went to get water for her mother (who is apparently visiting). Yaren goes on, "My father would never hurt my uncle. All Midyat knows that. Only a newcomer wouldn't know that." Fusun warns Yaren: "I'm smarter than you and I'm watching you."

Miran is sitting by Reyyan bedside. "Open your eyes. I've brought you the scent of Umut. He's strong, just like you. He's fine. Don't worry about him. But...I'm not OK. Nothing is OK without you. Nothing makes sense. Please open your eyes. Wake up. I can't go on without you." He sits down on the floor. "I know you told me to take care of Umut, but without you I don't know how to be a father. There's so much to live for. Open your eyes, so we can both believe in miracles. I know you can hear me. Come back to our son." She makes a noise and gradually she opens her eyes. "You are my miracle," he tells her. "My universe."

Cihan is being questioned in his cell. He maintains that they set up a trap for him and his brother. He explains that his daughter was kidnapped and he went to find her. He received a phone call, and he went where they said. The interrogator asks why he went. To find my daughter. Was the voice familiar? No. "My brother was there. He told me it was a trap. A set up. He kept saying it. And then my brother was shot. I looked all over, but I couldn't see anyone. I don't know who shot him. I only remember my daughter screaming. I'd give up my life for my brother." The interrogator says, "I understand, but you need to understand that your gun was't there and no one else was at the site of the crime. And, most important of all, Azize Aslanbey said she saw you shoot your brother." Cihan asks, "Is it possible for me to speak with someone?" Who? Cihan replies, "Miran Sadoglu" as the episode ends.

Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 45, Martes, April 19, 2022 - Parte 1/3

A short recap for this episode, because I was very busy and tired (especially tired).

Adán and his friend are arguing about money when León comes in and screams at them. He leaves to search for his bro.

His bro, Érik, is with Norma and they're having a conversation. I don't remember much, but I know that they mostly talked about Óscar, Norma told him not to worry and Érik told her to rest and the end.

León finds Érik and tells him that the extortionist called again. Quintina knocks on the door and when she leaves, one of the twins (I can't remember which) says that they should be ready when he/she calls next time and leave the room they were in.

Óscar is pretending to be the victim to Jimena and suggests the trip again. Jimena tells him AGAIN that they can't and mentions the mill house. Óscar gets mad when he hears about the mill house, starts screaming and leaves.

Norma, Juan, JD and the twins are eating. They mostly repeat the same things "I'm worried about Bertha and something's odd about the mill house" "Are you two okay?" - (to the twins) "Muriel this, Muriel that".

Norma and Juan have gone to their bedroom and are talking about everything that happened with Óscar and Jimena. Norma believes that Óscar has/had a relationship with Romina! (FINALLY, someone suspected it! Yes, there weren't many clues so they couldn't have thought about it until now, but I was waiting for this moment for SO long!)

Adán's friend, I think, goes to Romina's house and they have a conversation that I didn't understand because no subtitles today again and he tries to kiss her. Romina pushes him away (who are you and what did you do to Romina? Can you keep doing it? Nobody wants HER back anyway). The guy says something and she tells him to wait. She kicks Duvan out of the bedroom (there goes the real Romina) and the guy gets in. Romina starts undressing. EWWWWWW! In case you're interested, Duvan is at the kitchen/living room, playing a game on his console, headphones on. But he's a KID! What if he removes his headphones and searches for Romina!?

Jimena and Norma are riding their horses when Jimena tells Norma that Óscar is lying and hiding something! Again, FINALLY! Jimena says about the vacation Óscar told her and they also mention the mill house and Duvan's mom. Jimena says that she's too old to be his mom (she still thinks Madrina is his mom), but Norma says she's young and that she talked to her.

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 45, Martes, April 19, 2022 - Parte 2/3

Óscar is at work, thinking about Romina and Norma. He can't concentrate.

Jimena and Norma come to the conclusion that Madrina isn't actually Duvan's mom. They talk about the strange things that are happening in Jimena's house and Norma asks Jimena who has the keys. Jimena tells her about the keys she lost some days ago.

Romina is loading her BIG gun(!) Duvan sees this and Romina tells him to go to school.

Juan goes to find Óscar. Óscar wants to avoid talking with him, especially when he hears that Norma told Juan some things. As expected, the conversation is about the mill house and Jimena being in danger and Óscar is mumbling the WHOLE TIME and is trying to avoid the subject. Juan leaves after a while and says that his house is always open for Óscar if he needs it or something of the sort.

We get a nice scene with Muriel and Gaby. I like their interactions. Also, as the rest here said, Muriel and Sarita are a great compo. Anyway, Rosi has arrived at Sara's house to see her daughter. Sara calls Gaby and tells her not to tell Muriel. Rosi wants to go inside to search, but Sara tells her that it's her house and Rosi will enter whenever Sara wants.

Sara lets her in and Rosi starts her "Mi HiJa MuRiEl" crap again. Then, she whines about Sara stealing Franco from her (bruh). Loved it when Sara said "You loved many, but at the end, none"! Sara mentioned Andrés and how Rosi stole him from her by having him work at her bar. Rosi is now talking about Muriel again and Sara tells her that Rosi mistreats her. Rosi plays the "it's not your problem" card and Sara says that it is, Muriel is living in her house and she wants to protect her. Sara orders Rosi out of her house.

Adán is listening to the twins' plans for the extortionist.

Sarita remembers how it was like when she was with Franco (yes, we get a memory!) The actors have tremendous chemistry. I didn't understand much, but I still laughed and wanted Franco to come back ASAP!

Óscar goes to Madrina's to talk about Romina and Duvan, but she's busy, so Óscar ended up standing outside awkwardly.

The twins are collecting the money the extortionist asked for in a bag, when León's phone rings and big surprise! It's the extortionist, who's telling them what to do, where to go e.t.c. The extortionist hangs up, even though the twins are telling him/her to wait and they talk about the trap they have planned. They take out two guns(!) from their drawer!

Pasion
Pasión de Gavilanes, Temporada 2, Capítulo 45, Martes, April 19, 2022 - Parte 3/3

Óscar has been waiting for Madrina for hours, since it's nighttime now. After Madrina's clients leave, she lets Óscar in her house. Óscar does what he does best; whine, about Romina again. (Óscar and Madrina are two people I don't understand when talking, so I didn't understand the conversation. If it's important, please add it.) In a bit, Madrina gets a call from someone (her grandson, I think) and mentions Adela(!) Óscar hears this and leaves after a few minutes.

Muriel and JD are talking on the phone. They pretty much say the same things as before.

Óscar didn't leave. He's waiting outside in his car. Grandson comes to Madrina's and Óscar watches his every move.

Jimena has called Óscar around 5.000.000.000 times, but he's not answering the phone.

Óscar is following Grandson and calling the twins. Érik tells León not to answer and they get on their car. They leave their house. Óscar is still following Grandson and is mumbling so much I wasn't able to understand what he was saying even when I put my phone right next to my ear. (Honestly, couldn't Óscar just TEXT the twins, since they're not answering?)

And we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Thank you Weirdo! We so appreciate your work in bringing us this recap even when you're tired! Well done!

I don't know if Norma came to the conclusion Oscar was involved with Romina, both she and Jimena think Oscar is lying about what is going on in that house but I don't think they jumped to the mistress conclusion. If they did, they didn't say it. Norma did say she thinks Romina could be involved in what's going on in Jimena's house and the attack on Berta, but I'm not sure if she thinks that Romina is Oscar's lover, or that she is just a shady dangerous person in general. She might suspect the full truth and just be too polite to say it.

We got a FRANCO sighting!!! Definitely the best part of the episode although I agree with you that Gaby and Muriel were cute together too. I can't wait til Franco comes back for real! He will be a great addition to this madness no matter what the storyline because Michel Brown is should a compelling actor and you're right again, he and Natasha Klauss (Sarita) have incredible chemistry. The scene Sara was remembering was one of those scenes they do were the married couple pretend not to know eachother, he starts flirting and she's like careful my husband is inside....First he asked what her husband looked like and she described him as handsome with incredible blue eyes and an amazing bod, then he asked her if her husband was a good kisser and she said she couldn't remember and that's when he kissed her. It was cute!

Oscar was so rude to Juan! I wanted to punch him. Juan actually pointed out to him that Jimena's life, Berta's life and Duvan's life could be in danger from what is going on in that mill house and he still could only say stay out of my business! Juan said his doors would be open when Oscar wanted to come to him and tell him the truth. I find it funny how people who protest too much don't seem to understand that they give themselves away simply by protesting too much, acting guilty, and being a major jackass to everyone! Might as well confess, it would be easier and no more obvious. One of my sisters was like that growing up, she was such a bad liar. You would ask her a question and she would give such an over the top denial you'd be like 'man, I didn't actually think you'd done it I was just asking, but wow, you did do it!!!' smh

The only thing that might be important about Adan and friend discussion and Romina's discussion with the guy is that apparently Adan & co are selling ammunition (and maybe guns I don't remember for sure if they said but where there's one there's the other usually) and Adan was confronting him about selling ammo to Romina - so we know she's got a stock of something along with that big gun we saw! Also, not to defend Romina because I wouldn't...but that dude basically told her no sex no product, that's why she changed her mind and went to the bedroom with him. Kind of sucks to see someone being pressured into a sexual experience she doesn't want to have - even if that someone is Romina. Although the fact that she's doing it just to get weapons makes me feel less sympathy all over again.

You got the only important thing we really learned from Oscar and Madrina's convo. Madrina is apparently friends with Adela! Oscar is following because he thinks Mr. Grandson is headed to Adela, I don't remember exactly what they said to make him think that.

herc

Thanks so much, Juanita. You cleared up several things I didn't understand. And you included the things the always exasperating Zehra said. It's probably the actor, as dondi may have mentioned. Maybe her lines spoken without that outthrust chin would sound better from a better actor.

Fusun said 'she knows people like Hercan". Yep, she does know several human beings who would do anything for their loved ones, unlike Fusun. She left an infant daughter because its father wasn't approved by...someone...her father or her brother.

Really wasn't feeling the Reyyan coma. And we're onto the dizis liking significant smells, but I find it hard to believe the scent of Umut would stay on Miran's body, except maybe for a dog (approx 10K times better).

I'm not over them killing off Hazar. And we haven't had the Reyyan meltdown about it yet. Not looking forward to that.

herc

As far as I know, we don't have a recapper for tonight. Tonight's my 2-hour Spanish class on Zoom.

If no one else volunteers, I'll put up a few sentences to get the commenting going.

herc

Many thanks, Halimacandy and novelera, for your interesting and supportive comments.

Halimacandy, I have to confess that I'd be happy if Zehra and Mahfouz got together. I thought for a while that he and Asiye (or however one spells her hame) were a couple, but I'm now more doubtful. And I enjoyed your saying to Reyyan "there ain't no Moron without you."

Novelera, I loved your taking Fusun's dismissive statement about knowing people like Hercan and turning it into a compliment for him and a strong criticism of her. And I also enjoyed your remark about Umut's scent not staying on Miran's body, except maybe for a dog.

I'm most grateful for your offer to put up a few sentences about tonight's episode to get things started.

Hercai

Juanita, thank you so much for another great recap. I can no longer watch this show , so I really appreciate the recaps .

I cannot believe that the writers decided to kill off Hazar. Will Zehra and Mahfouz get together again now?

I hope Sleeping Beauty awakes so that we get at least one HeA.

herc

Hi Sysanlynn. Thanks very much for your comment. I'm sorry to learn that you can no longer watch the show, and so I'm especially happy that the recaps are proving helpful.

I too was surprised and unhappy that they killed off Hazar. There were so many characters I'd have preferred to see die. Oh well, we have just a few more weeks to endure. They've now announced that the new novela will begin May 10, so I guess Hercai will slog along until May 9. I wish there were less time for Fusun to try to do terrible things, and perhaps succeed. Sigh

I too am thinking that Zehra and Mafouz may get together. I have mixed feelings about that, since I like Mahfouz a lot but am not a great fan of Zehra's. Even so, I was glad that she and Hazar had that rather touching moment a couple of episodes ago where they both made their love for each other clear.

As for Happily Ever After endings, I think things look pretty good for Firat and Zeynep, and, with any luck, for Gonul and Azat. And yes, I guess for Sleeping Beauty and Moron as well. There are all sorts of "secondary" characters, too, who deserve better than they have: Melike, Asiye, and Seyda come immediately to my mind. I'm not sure what to say about Azra. I like her a lot, but I don't see a Prince Charming on the horizon. Perhaps she'll show that a woman can live HEA with a satisfying career and good friends. Ojalá.

Thank you SO much, Darcy! You always help out with my recaps! You're the best!

Must have misheard when Norma talked about Óscar. I guess I hear what I want to hear LOL!

I assume Óscar was a good person in the first season, but I hate his character now. They destroyed him, first Romina, then the lies, then everything else that he did!

Adán friend is just gross. Such a professional. Personally, I didn't feel sorry for Romina. She could have found someone else to buy ammo from, right? The fact that she tried to kick him out at first gives her some sympathy points, but she did do it at the end.

The scene with Sarita and Franco was even cuter now that I know what they were saying! I would love to see these two together. Such a shame Franco isn't here yet. I have a question though; since they could film the memory scenes, the actor has already agreed to return for a second season, because otherwise he wouldn't be on any scenes, right? Why aren't they bringing him back already? Everybody wants him back!

Hercai 2 - #104

As mentioned above, this will be a quicky.

Too damn much Zehra!

Yaren behaves like a decent person and comforts her mother. She also insists Cihan didn’t kill his brother. Handan doesn’t believe it because she’s had a wife’s eye view of Cihan’s behavior of late.

Reyyan wakes up in the hospital with a bad feeling, but she thinks something has happened to Umut.

Nasuh is suffering. Esma tells him she’s never seen Azize the way she is now. Nasun finds her almost catatonic. She doesn’t want him to touch her. And she tells him he still has a son, the son who killed hers.

Zehra has a bug-eyed freakout thinking something is wrong with Reyyan. Yawn.

Reyyan goes to the nursery and finds Umut. Mahfuz, Azra and the miracle doctor look on with mixed emotions.

We see a really good makeup job on Azize’s hand as she takes off a glove. Nasuh sobs on Hazar’s grave. [Why is his grave shown with no others around it?] We see Cihan brooding in the slammer.

Zehra sobs beside Reyyan’s hospital bed. Luckily Reyyan got used to Miran’s soliloquies while she slept and misses Zehra’s lack of self-control.

Reyyan has Umut in her bed and wants to do a video call with Hazar. We see the agonized faces of the others.

Outside her hospital room, Miran tells Mahfuz he can’t bear to take away Reyyan’s happiness. But he says he’ll tell her when they get to Midyat.

Fusun tells Halit, Chief Goon, that they don’t have another option. [Why not? Thought the next option was killing Miran.] The Old Gasbag says to herself that she’ll snatch Umut and raise him close to her bosom.

Miran stops the car in Midyat. He has Reyyan get out of the car. Almost losing control of himself, he tells her that their father Ya no está. Nuestro padre murió. She looks numb at first and then runs off.

Reyyan enters the Really SAD konak. Esma tells her she regrets her loss. Reyyan doesn’t want to believe it. She runs to her father’s bedroom. Azize sits in a chair in that room. Reyyan sobs. She puts Umut on Hazar’s sweater and tells him it’s the scent of his grandfather.

Weirdo, thank you so much for the last two days of great recapping - how amazing that you can do this without captions!!
I only half watched this week, so I missed some details, but I kind of believe that Norma does guess the truth about Oscar, but she can't voice it yet because 1. it's too awful to consider and 2. it would break her sister's heart. She probably wants proof first.
Oscar telling Juan to mind his own business is such a JOKE! The guy who has serious issues and still finds the time to involve himslef in his nephews' life behind his brother's back. Ugh!!
To answer Weirdo's question, Oscar used to be a bit sneaky and self involved, but never to this extent. And Jimena gave as good as she got. Married life has turned her mellow and frighful and respectability and a good social position has brought the worst out of Oscar.

Gun trafficking was missing from the show! Check! Adan went from annoying creep to potentialy deadly. And the last thing Romina needed was another weapon added to her generous arsenal.

Weirdo, Michel Brown originally said no to doing the sequel, he had other projects scheduled. But then the fans insisted so much and there was so much hype around the show, he eventually agreed to a special participation. I hope that since he's coming on rather late, he stays on until the end. He did take part in all the press at the beginning of the show.
The flashbacks we saw of him had to have been filmed as soon as he signed on to play Franco again. I think they were inserted in the story as it was airing, in order to tease the fans. I also think they needed time to came up with a story involving him. What that story will be is anyone's guess, but with this show anything is possible! ANYTHING!
Fun fact: in PDG Sarita and Franco were supposed to die (because they did in the novela PDG was based on, Aguas Mansas); but when they got together it was so amazing and the fans responded so well to it that Sarita and Franco living happily ever after became canon for all the remakes done after (at least 2 that I know of).

Back later with last night's recap.

Pasión/OT

Hmm. I didn't know that about Franco and Sarita being supposed to die! Interesting Adriana, yeah that would have caused a riot probably!! I did hear that Franco and Sarita we're not originally supposed to end up together and they changed that due to the undeniable chemistry of the actors and the fans wanting it, but I didn't know the original ending was death!!!

The same riot would have happened with the actors who played Samuel and Andrea (the Franco and Sarita equivalent) in Tierra de Reyes they had great chemistry too (I think they even won the award that year for favorite couple in a novela) I can't imagine how much the audience would have hated it if they killed them off!! But PDG was my first novelea and Sara and Franco were my favorites, if they had died in the end I might not have had a second novela! Lol

PASION WEDNESDAY, Part 1 of 3

Don M is having a nightmare. It’s Sarita’s family around a table (Dimi and Gabriela, too), and he can see the twins as small kids behind a door, with flames around them. He wakes up startled, telling Norma the twins are in danger, they are so small, they need help getting out of that burning house. Norma tries to reassure him, but Don M. insists that Eric and Leon are in danger. Quintina says that both the twins and Juan are out of the house.

Eric and Leon are in their car, relieved that Oscar stopped calling them. They’ve reached their destination, so they get out of the car. At the same time Oscar is following Pedro, Madrina’s grandson. He arrives at a house, knocks on the door and Adela comes out. They exchange bags – Oscar thinks he is the blackmailer. Adela tells the guy to take care and don’t be too late, while Oscar promises to himself that he won’t let him get away. Then he takes out his gun from the glove compartment. Pedro gets back on his scooter and Oscar follows him.

Norma and Jimena talk on the phone about how worried Jimena is because Oscar is not home, and hasn’t called all day. She doesn’t sound great and Norma would like to see her, but since Oscar forbade her access to his house… Oh, please, JD says he could come visit quickly, but Jimena assures them both there is no need; she’s still worried for the lady of the mill house. Although, it’s a bit late, Oscar won’t go there at this time of night.

Speaking of, Romina is going out, too, God knows where. She’s wearing her up to no good outfit, cape and boots included.

Norma is upset the twins left without saying. JD thinks they might be with Oscar, his mom thinks it might be true, wonders why they are acting so mysterious. JD tries to reassure her, the twins can be idiots, but not that much... You’d be surprised!

Eric and Leon are searching for the address the blackmailer gave them in the cemetery. They think they might be early, and that’s good because they can examine the place. They wonder if the guy is watching them or if he brought more people with him. The scooter, followed by
Oscar’s car, arrives at the cemetery, too. Oscar goes inside with his gun pulled, like a cop, but he’s not smart enough to park his car somewhere other than the front gates.

Eric and Leon are waiting for someone to show up, talking about grave robbers (one thing that we didn’t have yet. Check!). They notice a guy wearing a mask approaching and Oscar can see him, too, from a different angle. Is this idiot going to shoot one of his nephews? For the moment he goes to steal the scooter keys that had been left in the ignition.
Romina is back to visiting Jimena at night (I think), manages to stay hidden from the hired help, but doesn’t do anything else.

Juan has arrived home and finds JD watching over Don M. He was out at a dinner meeting, but also wanted to get away for a bit. JD tells his dad the twins are out and Don M is worried about them. Nobody seems to know where they went and it’s late!

With Oscar watching from farther away, the twins ask their blackmailer who he is, Pedro just wants to see the money. Eric asks for the video, Pedro gives it to them and then Leon throws him a bag. Pedro wants to check it first and as the guy looks down at the fake money and realizes it’s a scam, the twins pull out their guns. A shot is fired, and Pedro goes down while they look at him in terror. Leon hurries to take the bag, but Eric is frozen, asking if the guy is dead. Leon asks his brother to hurry, and together they leave. Eric sees the scooter but Leon drags him away.

Oscar comes behind them, pushes the gun out of the guys hand and unmasks him. He removes his Stetson and kneels for a second. Then he goes to take the scooter, supposedly to hide it. He throws the keys away and drives off.

PASION WEDNESDAY, Part 2 of 3

The twins reach their car. Leon is still on a high, but Eric is not looking OK. They drive away, but soon enough Leon asks his brother to stop the car. Eric doesn’t get what happened, he pull the trigger, he swears! Leon takes the wheel, since Eric is in no condition to drive. They eventually get home, but Eric is still in shock. Leon has to push him to his room, but all Eric can say is that it wasn’t him. Leon thinks his brother is in denial, having a hard time admitting what happened. Eric says he was going to do it, but he didn’t pull the trigger. They get out the gun to check and they realize no shots were fired. They can’t understand what has happened. Don M knocks at the door, asking what is going on. They open and try to reassure him. They say they were drinking and Don M doesn’t refuse the drink he’s offered – he’s happy they are OK. He does notice that Eric is not looking great, but he’s happy they are not in danger – his dreams have been worrisome.

At Bar Alcala Rosario is doing her show. How ridiculous is this 50 year old woman, trying to recapture her glory days (that weren’t all that glorious actually), while her life is in shambles. After the show she talks with Gunther about her visit to Sarita’s ranch. She didn’t get what she wanted, obviously, thinks Gunther is making fun of her failure. But Gunther only wants to leave this miserable pueblo, their lives are in the city. Rosario insists this is where she needs to be, so Gunther asks her to use her smarts if she wants to win Muriel back. And if she wants Muriel to give up JD, she should be ready to do it first.

Jimena is asleep when she hears a noise outside the house. She goes to the guest room to find Oscar on a chair. He looks dishelved, just asks her not to say anything or ask anything, he had an awful day. Let’s see what destiny has in store for him tomorrow, it’s been a long time since he hasn’t been master of his own fate. Jimena tries to cheer him up, Oscar kisses her and asks her to go to sleep, he’ll come for her when he’s worthy of her (or something similar). They exchange I love you’s and then she goes to the other room. After she’s gone he repeats the destiny bit and says that he discovered the blackmailer and he won’t hurt anyone again.

In the morning, Madrina comes to visit Duvan. They chat briefly, the boy assures her that his mom is taking good care of him. Madrina finds Romina cleaning the house. (Shocking, I know!) She says her grandson is away doing some business, and she’ll probably be ready to leave in a week or so. But for now she wants her pay for the spider. Romina says it didn’t help. Madrina reminds her she promised to leave and she hasn’t, so she wants money instead. Romina gives her some, there will be more when Oscar pays the allowance. Romina insists she wants to marry Oscar, Madrina repeats that she can get more from him by leaving the house, he will never abandon Jimena. Romina says he will, she’s taking care of it. Madrina insists Oscar would never leave Jimena and even if she were dead, he’d never come to her. Romina is sure of her plan, though, Madrina warns her to be careful.

Jimena and Oscar are having breakfast, but he’s feeling bad and acting cold and aloof. He plans to spend the day home, waiting. For what? It depends, he needs to stay still for now. She doesn’t have to understand him, all she needs to do is take care of work today. Jimena asks if he was with the twins last night. Oscar says no, they don’t want to be with him and he doesn’t want to see them, either, for now.

PASION WEDNESDAY, Part 3 of 3

Eric and Leon are digging a hole for Pedro’s bag. They find a photo with him and Adela, think she must know everything about what happened, but they doubt she will talk. They check the phone that has the video, but Eric doesn’t want to see it again. If only tio Oscar would know this… They wonder if there is another copy of the video, search the bag again, but there is nothing else inside. They erase the video from the phone and bury it in the same hole with the rest. They notice Adan spying on them and Eric goes off on him. Adan leaves, Leon asks him to calm down, they are acting suspicious. Eric keeps trying to cover what they hid in the hole.

Oscar is home, asking the maid when Jimena leaved. About half an hour ago, she answers.

Oscar then goes to see Duvan at school. The boy is so happy to see his dad, he hugs him. Oscar says he knows he hasn’t been a good dad, and the poor kid tries to reassure him. Oscar says he needs to be with him, he realizes this now. He found out he was at his home and met Jimena. Yeah, several times already, but he never told her who his dad was, mom said not to tell anyone until they got married. Oscar says he’s already married to Jimena, Duvan understands why, Jimena is very pretty and nice. That’s why he can never be with his dad. Oscar tells him he can go back to his house whenever he wants, but Duvan can’t because Jimena thinks he destroyed her clothes. He can’t say what he’s done because his mom would punish him. Oscar tells him he will find a way to protect him more and be there for him. This guy is the worst!!

Norma and Jimena have come to visit Berta. She’s alert and able to talk, apparently she’ll make a full recovery. Bertha asks about Oscar, says she has to tell them something very bad about what happened.

Adriana, fantastic recap thank you! This was certainly an intriguing episode!! I never expected the extortioner to actually get killed!! I know the twins said they would shoot but I just figured they wouldn't so I expected everyone to live!!

So who shot him? It looks like it was Oscar certainly, but was it? The way the angles were shot there definitely could have been a fourth person there that we didn't see. For that matter, Juan could have been there!!! He says he was at a business dinner, but was he??? Or was someone else entirely there? I would expect Pedro to bring back up, was he double crossed? What will Adela do now? Is Felix too involved??? So many questions, lol

It does seem most likely that Oscar shot but I find that very surprising as horrible as his character is and as much as I hate him now I don't see him shooting the guy in cold blood so easily (you could make an argument for self/nephew defense rather than murder, but it's a stretch) and I will be shocked if truly turn Oscar into a murderer. That said, who shot??? Lol

Eric and Leon seem to have switched personalities! In the beginning Leon was shaking and crying and Eric was ice cold determination, now it is flipped!

Rosario is just sad! It's not so much what she does as why she is doing it like you said. An emotionally healthy, confident and secure 50 year old Rosario could take the stage and be incredible up there I am sure, but the fact that you know all the mental and emotional damage is behind her motivation makes it sad to watch.

I hope Berta can ID Romina...I wonder if she was still working for Jimena and Oscar back when the other lady was....

PASION

Darcy, I hadn't considered the fact that there might have been a forth person in that cemetery. But by the way Oscar reacted it sure looked like he was the one who pulled the trigger. That would put the final nail in his coffin, I think, so far he's proven to be an awful husband, a deadbeat father, a lousy brother and apoor excuse of an uncle... Add murderer to the list and I don't see any redemption for this character.
I don't think Juan is the type of guy to shoot a person and then keep hiding in the bushes... from what I could tell he only found out about the twins being gone after he was back from his meeting - and the whole cemetery scenes was happening at the same time. Oh, well, like you said, with this show you never know.

And speaking of surprises, anyone care to play a game? I suspect Franco is going to show up soon (he has to!!), anyone dare guess why he left in the first place? Think big and proposterous - alien abduction comes to mind LOL

Pasión

Adriana, to be clear I don't think Juan shot the guy either I was just pointing out the possibility to point out the possibility. Lol

I am guessing there was a fourth person though, just because I don't see them turning any of the Reyes men into a murder...you never know, but I still doubt they will go there. They have assassinated Oscar's character pretty well but I have to believe they will still try to redeem him and all the Reyes/Elizondo family in the end so that only leaves the possibility of a fourth unseen person to be the shooter. Maybe Adan? We saw he was looking at the twins as they talked before they left for the meet up and following them again the next day when they were burying stuff, he might have followed them that night too...we know he has guns and ammo??? Who knows!

My prediction for Franco is that he never did leave of his own free will. I think he was abducted - maybe by Dimi because he wanted to get closer to Sara and ultimately Gabby? Or maybe it's something even more involved like Franco discovered something/knows something and he was abducted to keep him from going to the cops! Like maybe he witnessed one of Dino's kills? We never get a good idea of just how much anyone has or hasn't heard from Franco since he left but if he's being held hostage he could have been forced to make the occasional phone call or other communication and he could have been forced to sign divorce papers! Like a I could have killed you but I am going to torture you instead type deal - Dimi could have even developed his obsession with Gaby as a way of torturing Franco... whatever the story I hope he is back like NOW!! I really hope you are right and it has to be soon because I fear 'special participation' means a couple of flashbacks and the last two episodes and I will be soooooo disappointed if that's all we get!!!

Pasión

I typed Dimi not Dino, lmao

Hercai

Novelera, I appreciated your recap since I do not have access to Telemundo right now .

Pasion

Thank you Darcy, Adriana, Wierdo..... for your recaps and wonderful insight of each episode. I enjoy reading them.

Adriana,
for the I guess, I guess game. .. here are some of my guesses, it's all dimi dimi
.
1. Dimi is the extortionist and Pedro was just one of the motorcycle goons working for him. I just hope Madrina does not know Pedro was a thug and her connection to Adela is just one of friendship, like the relationship she has with Romina, where she supports them but does not condone their actions.

2. Dimi shot Pedro when he saw the twins were armed. And now, he will go after Oscar for money.

3. I agree with Darcy, Franco was abducted by Dimi.

4. How about Adan??? Is he working with Dimi?? Will he go back and dig up the evidence and extort Norma...??? Who knows, que sera sera... so many evil people, so many possibilities.

PDG fan

PS....
From what I have read, Michel Brown and Ana Luisa Dominguez (Libia Reyes) were both offered their roles for PDG2 and both refused because they were filming a series for Netflix called Palpito. I guess that is why the Libia and Eva storyline is not in PDG2. Michel was later, offered the special appearance role, which he accepted. In a youtube video interview, he does say his role is "pequenito" meaning very small.

Palpito started April 20th on Netflix.

Thanks very much, novelera, for your very helpful bullet points to get things started.

I'm not sure what to make of Yaren. Between her very reasonable treatment of her mother and her insistence that Cihan did not kill Hazar, I'm beginning to suspect/fear that she's going to be redeemed.

I was happy and not at all surprised that Reyyan woke up and seemed to recover very quickly from her very scary childbirth experience. When she held Umut, I kept expecting him to reach for her breast to nurse, and I was trying to imagine how Telemundo would deal with this. For better or worse, it seems Umut wasn't all that hungry.

Miran is getting well-meaning but opposite advice from Azra and Mahfouz. Azra tells Miran that he has to be strong for Reyyan (and not show his grief over Hazar's death). Azra says "Let her smile until it's time to tell her." Mahfouz, on the other hand, is urging Miran to tell Reyyan about Hazar now. He claims that the longer he waits, the worse it will be. We also hear Miran's recollection of the doctor advising that Reyyan not be stressed or upset, lest she suffer a relapse. Miran told Mahfouz that he would wait to tell her until they got to Midyat. Apparently the minute they did so, he pulled over and broke the news to her. It was clearly weighing on him all during the trip.

I too was puzzled by Fusun's claim that she had no other option. Huh? And when/why did the plan change from killing Miran to kidnapping Umut? Perhaps there was more in the Turkish version?

I found it interesting and rather moving that the episode ended with Miran and Azize staring sadly at each other.

Pasion

I wrote a super long comment but my phone froze and it disappeared! Ugh!

Basically, I said that:

1. Thanks Adriana, for the amazing recap!
2. I also think that Pedro was sent by Dimi. Pedro himself being the extortionist sounds odd, at least to me.
3. I agree that Franco was abducted by Dimi. Thanks for the interesting info, PDG fan. I hope Franco doesn't show up on episode 70! Also, who are Libia and Eva? Is Libia the sister of the three main men? (I took a look at the plot for the first one.) Help, anyone?
4. Crazy theory: What if Romina shot Pedro? She did buy ammo the same day, we saw her loading her gun, we didn't really see her that night, she was wearing the creepy outfit, her character is broken enough in order for her to become a murderer and she might have done it so that Óscar will be grateful for saving his nephews. I'm just throwing a wild guess on the table!
5. I forgot to say it the day before yesterday, but I love Sarita's character! She's such a dynamic and strong woman! I would have hated it if she and Franco got killed off in the first season! I would have never seen them!
6. People in YouTube are arguing. The debate is: Is Óscar a good father? My opinion is certainly NOT! Just because he gives money to Romina and doesn't mistreat Duvan doesn't mean that he's a good father. People's standards are VERY low. Either Adriana or Darcy said that Óscar is a lousy father, so at least someone is thinking along the same lines as me.
