Hercai 2 - #114 - Sed de Venganza - Parte 1 de 3
We begin where we left off. Reyyan rushes to take Umut from Yaren, who pretends to be innocently visiting her cousin’s baby. Reyyan tells her to never come without letting them know ahead of time. Yaren says that she killed her baby; if she had wanted one of those, she could have had one. Yaren gets close, calling her kind Reyyan, respectful Reyyan, self-sacrificing Reyyan. “You gave birth even though it could have cost you your life.”
Reyyan tells her that she shows no shame for her actions. “Everything that happened to you was because of your own bad intentions. And you keep trying to blame others. I’m not the same old Reyyan.” Yaren: “You took everything from me, Reyyan, and you enjoyed my suffering.” Reyyan tells her she’s crazy and that she should leave. She does.
Cihan and Handan are talking about Yaren when the Yellow Centipede herself walks up. Her father tells her she’s not thinking correctly. “You never say a single good thing.” She keeps on laughing her evil laugh and leaves them. Cihan tells his wife that Yaren isn’t at fault. It’s their fault for covering up her bad deeds. She’s never paid for any of it.
The celebration of Umut begins. It looks like the kids from the Umut Foundation have been invited. There is an empty chair at the large dining table, with some red prayer beads on a plate. This must be for Hazar. Cihan wonders if this is all too much. [Assume because they’re still in mourning.] Nasuh insists that Hazar would have wanted this just as it is. He smiles and says that being an uncle suits Cihan.
Reyyan comes down with Umut. Everyone applauds and admires the baby.
The gift giving begins. Nasuh says that he’ll clothe 100 kids, circumcise them, and celebrate them. Nasuh and Zeynep suggest a party for Umut’s first tooth! Reyyan says she’s putting him to bed and novelera bites her nails a bit. But he’s put down in a fancy bed on the same floor, with Seyda watching him.
Mahfuz’ gift is the completion of the reconstruction of the Umut Foundation headquarters. Handan gives Reyyan something I couldn’t see, and Cihan gives the watch that Hazar gave him.
We see a crazed looking Yaren peering over from a high balcony next door.
Cihan chuckles saying he wanted that watch. Nasuh reminds his son that he broke his other watch because he wanted the other one so badly. Nasuh wasn’t going to give in to that. Cihan admits it. He says he woke up a few days later and the watch was beside his bed. Hazar bought it for him. He gives Miran the watch, while we see Reyyan wiping away tears.
Azize gives Reyyan a piece of paper, la escritura (deed) to the Aslanbey konak. Azize says Reyyan could live there, sell it, or give it to the foundation. "The bad things all began there, and Reyyan’s big heart will wipe all of it away." Reyyan says she’ll use it for the foundation.
Hercai 2 - #114 Sed de Venganza - Parte 2 de 3
Zeynep’s pregnancy is announced and there’s joy all around. Firat guesses that Miran already knew, and Reyyan gently chastises him for not faking surprise better. There’s a very warm and pleasant photo session with the whole family and then with Nazuh and Azize holding Umut. Azize steps out.
Yaren corners Seyda and asks him what Azize gave Reyyan. Seyda can’t seem to ever tell her to get stuffed. He looks scared and then tells her. “My mansion? She gave my mansion to Reyyan?” Seyda backs away from the lunatic, who says that the konak is hers; she’s the lady of the house.
Azize walks away and we get a long soliloquy. “I was an angel, and the flames of the fire destroyed me. These scars will never leave me. That’s why I did so many bad things. I couldn’t be innocent. I became Azize, the Evil Queen and poor Ayse disappeared. I tried to bring down my worst enemy and could not.” [We see Azra and Fusun on their way out of town in the back seat of a car.]
“The hate in my heart confused me, but the beautiful light of those I loved illuminated my soul and saved me. My worst enemy was always my ow hatred.”
Miran asks Lutful to take Umit to his bed. [I am enjoying the way Lutfu and Seyda have become Umit’s babysitters, but where is Melike?]
Azize: “It’s time to leave. I leave voluntarily the paradise where I don’t belong. I’m leaving because I don’t deserve this. I became a demon and hurt so many innocents.” We see Esma give Azize a key…not sure where they are. “Azize did so many bad things, and Ayse could not get back her beloved son. I need to be alone where my heart can find peace.”
She has left a letter for Nasuh, saying, “My beautiful family, I don’t deserve your forgiveness. Goodbye.
Yaren is in the street outside. Handan tries to stop her. We see one of those Midyat Specials in her hand, behind her back. She storms into the party, shouts for Reyyan and points the gun. She says that she’s come to talk to Señora Reyyan. “She took everything from me. When I finish talking Reyyan will be dead.” Miran stands in front of his wife. Reyyan tells Yaren she has done nothing to her. Yaren always wanted what wasn’t hers.
Looking completely nuts, Yaren says that Reyyan yanked away her love. Miran looks disgusted. “You stole my dreams, you stole my grandfather, my parents, and now my mansion. You’ve never felt real pain.” Reyyan: “How can you say something like this when you grew up like a princess. I never did anything to you, but you did as much damage to me as possible and intentionally.”
Yaren grins. “I was happy to do it. I would have loved to do much more. When Umut was kindnapped, I knew where he was, but I never said a word. I wish you had never found your son! So I decided your son ought to live with the pain of losing his mother” Handan and Cihan look on, appalled. Miran: “You’re bad, a really bad person. It makes me furious to even listen to you. Your hatred of Reyyan made you take it out on a baby.”
Hercai 2 - #114 Sed de Venganza - Parte 3 de 3
Cihan tries to reason with Yaren. He says that every time he acted out of anger, he hurt himself. “My brother died. My son left me. Don’t be like me.” He tries to take the gun and she shoots him.
After the commercial break we see that it’s only a wound in the shoulder. The Yellow Centipede asks him if it’s worth it to risk his life for Reyyan. He replies that Reyyan was always the good one. We were the bad.
The cops are on a roll. They show up to make their second arrest in two weeks after more than a year of ineptitude.
Yaren won’t surrender. Then Handan speaks up. She says that they both know that she killed Harun. We then see a flashback. Handan is in the street outside, dropping a dime on the Yellow Centipede. Yaren then points the gun at her own head. [The patio chants in unison: “Do it! Do it!] Then she throws herself a pity party. Firat is reasoning with her. [I’m getting worn out with this interminable Yaren and the gun scene.] Miran comes to my rescue and wrests the gun away while she is looking at Firat. While being handcuffed, she blames her parents for everything.
Handan will take Cihan to the hospital for his wound to be treated. Miran says that he and Firat will go along with the police. [Why? Just let the cops deal with the erstwhile princess.]
Reyyan is talking to Umut and promises him a good life, free from conflict. Miran comes in to say that Yaren will await trial in jail. She asks him if he pressed charges (for waving a gun around in his home, I assume) and he says he did not, just as she asked. [Ay! Reyyan! You should have hoped for a 50-year sentence.] Miran tells Reyyan that Yaren killed the father of her son, and what she said about Umut on the patio terrified him. “Now she can’t harm you.” He says he’ll go to be with Cihan.
Outside the jail Cihan insists to Nasuh and Handan that he has to go inside to see Yaren. We see that Nasuh is brooding about Azize having left. Handan tells Cihan that Yaren ruined everything. But, when she pointed that gun at her head, her mother was terrified. The two blame themselves (too little, too late) for not teaching Yaren about accepting blame for her actions.
Rey talks with Zehra by phone, telling her that Umut misses her. Miran comes in and they have another of those happy moments with the baby. Reyyan asks about Azize, and Miran says he’ll call her. The hubbub with Yaren has put this out of his mind.
Mahmut is driving Zehra home. As usual she’s fussing. It’s about no one telling her about the kidnaping. He calms her down. She thanks him for stepping in as a good father for Reyyan and he thanks her for letting him. He says he got there late, but he promises to do everything in his power.
Delusional Yaren thinks Cihan has come to take her home so as to pull her irons out of the fire as he has always done. He tells her she has to stay for a trial and will most likely go to prison. She tries her usual BS that she hasn’t done anything, but he reminds her she’s done a lot of things. “Your mother and I were the worst possible parents, covering up every one of your mistakes, ignoring them over and over again." He tells her to serve her time. She can begin a new life when she leaves prison. “I will be waiting there to take you home when you are released.”
NovelA,thank you for yet another detailed snappy recap as this show heaves its last breaths and drags us ....and the baddies toward the finishline bad to the bone to the end. uff. I am ready to move on.
Cihan >>>>pot meet your little kettle.
OT...what is up with swings in these dizis? Swings seem to be very romantic props. I just watched a swing scene in 'Calikuso(Lovebird)
Also, cabins . A cabin is a huge feature in " La HiJa"
Apparently the new novela starts on May 31st, replacing Pasion... but Pasion won't be finished by then, since 80 episodes have been filmed and we are only on episode 57.
I don't know if Telemundo plans to air double episodes or move Pasion to another hour - which would be silly for such a short amount of time - but the fans are protesting because they are afraid they won't get to see a proper ending due to heavy editing or something similar.
Anyway, just a heads-up. I don't enjoy the idea of recapping 2 hours episodes, but if the alternative is to have some of the scenes cut...
Hi, Adriana.I hope that you and your family are well. I hope that we will be watching a novela together soon, Cher .
I will give this new show a try.
Hi, Susanlynn. We're doing good, thank you for asking. Hope you're OK, too, and I hope we'll be watching a novela together soon, too. Not sure about Amor Valiente, but there are some fun Televisa novelas airing right now, maybe Univision will air them soon.
Adriana, first of all, thank you for yesterday's amazing recap. I was busy and didn't get a chance to comment. Many odd stuff has been happening lately in Pasión, huh?
Anyway, I checked the dates and you're right. On May 30, episode 73 is supposed to air, according to my calculations. On May 30, episode 80, the Gran Final, is supposed to air as well.
The possibilities are three, as you said:
1) Moving the show to another hour.
2) Cutting some things off.
3) Doing 2-hour episodes.
I don't think they're going to move Pasión to another hour, because it's just 7 episodes we're talking about.
I would be very disappointed if they cut scenes off, except if they're scenes where the characters talk about the same stuff and/or are mostly meaningless.
I'm not satisfied with them doing 2-hour episodes as well. Not only it would be double the work for us, it would also be a bit tiring to watch.
I hope they just:
4) Change the dates and make Amor Valiente have its Gran Estreño on June 9.
I don't think that's going to happen though, since they did a whole Gran Estreño announcement. I hope they do something about it soon...
P.S.: Hi, Susanlynn!
Thank you novelera for knocking out another great recap as we reach the finish line! Hopefully this will be the last celebration that will be interrupted by ANYONE AT ALL! Lol. The family has been through an awful lot though, and a celebration is called for. Umut deserves to be celebrated even though he won’t remember a thing, lol. He is the cutest, cutest baby! I’d love to see a picture of him now! He’s got to be about 3 yrs old, give or take a year.
Anyhoo, love your comment Susalynn “Cihan>>>>>>pot meet your kettle,” no truer words have been spoken. Cihan, Handan, Nasuh, and even Azat to a degree, fed the monkey all the bananas she wanted without consequence. Now the monkey thinks she owns every banana tree in the jungle. Yaren is so ate up and hateful, and she has not an inkling of accountability. Like Miran and Firat, it should’ve, could’ve been Reyyan and Yaren———sad…..
So true novelera about the cops in this dizi! Too funny with these final hour cops! Still, they’re not trained well enough to disarm a crazy girl who just shot someone! Yeah right! Save the heroics for the real heroes, lol….. Was Azize’s plan, all along, to disappear once this was over? It’s not that her family won’t forgive her, but can she forgive herself? She did some horrible, horrible things, and should’ve taken that long walk straight to the police, or the psychiatrist’s couch. Heinous crimes like she committed, deserves more than some self reflection. God/Allah will ultimately forgive, but you gotta do the work too…..
Zehra is still a downer…….
Love the joy and excitement expressed by Esma for Firat and Zeynep’s baby. Shame Yaren has to spoil everything!
I have the recap ready to post but my computer/internet is being a royal pain in the foot this morning!! I will get it uploaded as soon as I can. Going to try restarting AGAIN!
Season 2 Episode 56 – Thursday – Part 1 of 5
We open at the police station with the officers telling Oscar, Juan, Norma, Berta and their lawyer they are going to have to let Romina go for lack of proof. They can’t find a gun to prove she threatened Norma, they can’t prove she shot Gabriela that’s just a theory and they can’t hold her for attacking Berta because Berta can’t identify her from the lineup (her memory is affected by her injuries). Oscar wants to know about custody but until he can demonstrate his legal rights to Duvan he stays with his mother! Lastly, they ask about the charges for attacking Jimena and are floored to discover Jimena dropped her charges against Romina!!!
Outside Juan encourages Oscar to not lose hope but also to move carefully and not be carried away by impulse. He needs to be smart. Oscar assured his brother this time it’s going to be different.
Jimena is at work reading whatever it is she found in Franco’s safe when she makes the brilliant decision to just leave all the paperwork for Oscar!!!!! (WTH?? You find evidence of what your husband and his brothers have been hiding and you just hand it off??? No questioning, no investigating for yourself, no talking to your sisters, especially Sarita!!! Someone check this chick for a pulse!) She should have given the papers to Sarita they came from her house. Jimena says to make sure only Oscar gets the papers.
Oh, the photographer from Muriel and JD’s romantic date was sent by Rosario!!! That makes more sense and is no less creepy. She is thanking her photographer for the job well done telling him the important thing is that he made them feel uncomfortable and watched!!!! Blanca knocks and tells her Muriel just got home and Rosi thanks her. She goes to start with Muriel again about leaving without permission but this time she justifies it by saying Samuel is watching their every move!!! Muriel needs to stay home and not expose herself or her mom. Muriel asks if mom really thinks he’s watching and Rosi says yes, what’s worse is he uses dangerous people to do it like the one we have in house who watches us day and night and never leaves us in peace! LOL Speaking of Gunter who is arriving but assures he comes in peace. He brought a present left at the door for Rosi and she leaves Muriel to chase after Gunter and discover where this comes from.
Jimena’s assistant gives the mystery papers to Oscar as instructed and he tells her to just leave them on the desk and he’ll get to them tomorrow. She informs him Jimena request specifically that they were given to only him, they seem to be important and they aren’t business related. Oscar says he’ll look tonight and excuses her. He opens the package and is immediately impacted by what he is reading.
Gunter claims he doesn’t know what is in the box, he just delivered it. Rosi says he needs to be very careful about what kinds of packages he accepts at this moment as it could be dangerous. Gunter got jokes today and he bends his ear to the small box and says ‘Do you think it’s a bomb?’ Rosi tells him not to be an idiot it could be something much worse and she doesn’t want to be alone when she opens it. Long suffering Gunter follows, and it’s a necklace and earrings – very expensive looking! Rosi jumps back as if bitten but Gunter admires the beauty. Rosi says it’s the same jewelry she returned to Samuel, he used to make her wear it on special occasions.
Season 2 Episode 56 – Thursday – Part 2 of 5
Now home, Oscar brought the papers and he tells Berta about his meeting tomorrow with his lawyers and all at Romina’s house. He tells her they are going to put in precautions and make sure Romina doesn’t attack again. (I still can’t believe Berta just came home from the hospital put her uniform on and went straight back to work!!! Shouldn’t she still be resting?) Oscar tells her he’s not ready to eat yet he has to review some documents and he drags the Franco puzzle out again…. much later Oscar is still reading in bed and Berta finally gets him to agree to dinner. He’ll be right there, but first he calls Juan – they have to talk, it’s URGENT!! Tomorrow right after his meeting at the mill house they have to meet.
The very next scene is Oscar and Juan so maybe we don’t get to see the meeting at the Mill house?? Juan wants to know what’s up and Oscar says they need to be somewhere where they won’t be interrupted. It’s a topic they have avoided discussing for a long time but the moment as come.
Sara is at Albin and Andres’ and they are trying to explain to her that Dimi is the devil and he’s a homophobic hypocrite and has Sara forgotten how creepy he’s been toward her own daughter?? Sara inexplicably defends the rat!!! She thinks Andres is just upset over the reconstruction of the study and finding reasons to criticize poor Dimi! (What happened to the mother bear who defended her children at all costs??? She’s not even listening to Andres tell her straight out that Dimi disrespected both him and Albin) Andres says the demo bugs him too because she’s specifically demolishing the project of his dad. What kind of remodel is that? Are you trying to make dad disappear? Sara doesn’t answer but her face says yes.
Juan wants to know where the papers were found (Darcy wants to know what the papers say!!!) and Oscar tells him in Sara’s house. Jimena found them, no he didn’t ask her any questions he didn’t dare. He doesn’t know if anyone else knows about the documents. Oscar wants to know what they are going to do and Juan says they will take immediate action to help Franco!!! They will discuss ‘the case’ with their lawyers and if they have to travel, they will. Oscar asks if they are going to go find Franco and Juan says for that bum we will go to the end of the world! This is the perfect excuse to help him!
The twins want to take grandpa for a walk and Norma is oddly discouraging this? Eric calls his mom ‘Norma’! which seems out of place because he’s never done it before onscreen but she doesn’t even blink so maybe it’s not so unusual. He says they are just taking grandpa for a walk to the stables what’s the problem? Norma thinks he would be more comfortable in his room but Martin doesn’t want comfort he wants life, nature and the smell of horses and cowboys. Norma says she is just trying to keep him from getting sick and he says so what, if I get sick, I get sick; if I die, I die, no one lives forever. The twins tease him about being the ranch Shakespeare and Norma and Quintina laugh as the men go off on their adventure. Norma turns the topic to Juan, where is he? Quintina says he’s locked away with Oscar and doesn’t want to be disturbed! Is something up with Romina? Quintina doesn’t know. Norma hates it when they start with their mysteries and she hopes it’s nothing bad this time!
Season 2 Episode 56 – Thursday – Part 3 of 5
Oscar says what’s coming is complicated and Juan acknowledges Oscar’s life is already complicated. He will take care of it, for now they just have to keep silent as they have ALL THESE YEARS!!! That way they can keep Sara and the kids from freaking out?? (Seriously????) Oscar agrees this is a good idea but Oscar isn’t smart. Oscar thinks Sara might know about the papers if they were found in her house (and she would have if her sister had shown them to her like a normal person) and Juan says it’s time to clear up any doubts he’s going to call Jimena and ask. Norma walks up just then and the men go silent and dumb as if they were little boys hiding what they are doing from mommy. Norma tries multiple times to ask what they are up to but they stonewall her so she leaves telling them to come inside because lunch is ready. Juan calls Jimena again talking all sweet and kind to her and telling her he needs to talk to her for five minutes. (His tone is condescending and ridiculous with both Jimena and Norma)
Sara and Andres are still arguing about the remodel and Andres finally agrees fine, he will just stay away from home since he can’t stand to see the guy. Sara thinks he is exaggerating, Dimi will only be doing the project for a couple weeks and then he’ll be gone. Andres calls his mom naïve and says Dimi is going to worm his way in the same way he did with grandma! Wake up Mother!!! Sara says no way. Albin says he thinks everyone should take a step back and talk more when they are calmer. Sara wants to know if Albin knows Dimi and he says he doesn’t but his breeders do and they could probably tell her about him. Sara just asks for one thing she understands that they don’t accept Dimi but she doesn’t want them to attack him. She claims we don’t have proof to attack him so please don’t attack him. Albin agrees they won’t attack if Dimi doesn’t mess with or disrespect them but if he does, he will respond because he won’t allow himself to be disrespected.
Dimi is standing around yelling at the guy who is actually working to swing his hammer harder as he knocks down the wall. He tells him to think of his mother-in-law, LOL. As Adriana pointed out yesterday, Dimi is just a useless runt who orders other people to work as he stands back and does nothing.
Gaby hears the banging and it’s driving her crazy!! She can’t study, she can’t concentrate!! How long will they be here? Irene suggests Gaby just go tell them to stop but Gaby doesn’t want to see Dimi’s face much less talk to him and Irene offers to go tell him. Gaby shuts her lap top and goes to change. She is in a bra only and looking for something with Dimi enters with a dreamy (creepy) look on his face. Gaby yells at him to get out but he stays claiming he only came to apologize! He will tell them to stop and they won’t bother her anymore. He walks closer. Gaby orders him out again but he keeps getting closer telling her not to be afraid. He isn’t going to hurt her he cares about her. A lot actually. She’s beautiful! Gaby yells for Irene who orders him out and Dimi claims again that he only came to apologize. A crying Gaby hugs Irene hard when Dimi finally leaves. (If Sara goes full Gabriela and refuses to believe Gaby when she hears this or accuses her of lying because she hates Dimi I will actually throw up! And cuss and maybe even throw something at the TV)
Oscar shows up to the millhouse so I guess his meeting with Juan was before this one not after. Romina, Duvan and Madrina are there with some officers. Romina tries to keep Duvan from even greeting his dad but Madrina and the officers tell her to let him greet his father. They talk about whether or not Romina is going to keep living in the house and Oscar still wants to find a better place dignified of his son but Romina wants this place fixed up – the officers supposedly left it a complete mess. Oscar agrees to fix the place up and his lawyer also gives Romina a paper to sign.
Season 2 Episode 56 – Thursday – Part 4 of 5
The basically a restraining order saying Romina can’t come near his house for any reason, Duvan can but she can’t. (I wonder if this idiot even changed the locks to his house? And speaking of evidence why didn’t the police find keys to Oscar’s house in Romina’s or on her person?) Oscar asks the Chief if he can talk to his son alone but Romina mocks him and says he should be asking her since she’s Duvan’s mom! She lets Duvan go though. Madrina helps Romina read the agreement – which actually says she can’t be rude too! LOL Might as well arrest her again right now!!! She signs.
Now alone Oscar asks Duvan if he really wants to live with the wicked witch from the west, but of course he says yes because his mom has him under her thumb. Oscar says it’s reasonable he feels that way because she is his mom but if he feels bad, he wants him to tell his dad because he loves him a lot. Duvan looks like he doubts the sincerity of this and I don’t blame him because I doubt it too.
Dumbass Dimi is STILL trying to talk to Gaby and assure her the noise will stop when she straight up tells him to stay away from her and never enter her room again. Gaby wants him to leave and never come back. Dimi wants to know why she’s so against the remodel? Let him show her, she will love the result! Jimena arrives home and asks Gaby if she’s leaving. She’s going to school to study because she can’t concentrate with all the noise. Dimi repeats he has asked the men to leave so the noise won’t continue but Gaby says she also doesn’t feel safe in the presence of this man (Dimi). Jimena says she is going to change her shoes and then she’ll go with her niece, she could use the distraction. Jimena walks off and Gaby’s phone rings she starts to walk away and Dimi tries to put his arm around her offering to walk her out. Gaby repeats once again to not touch her and as she wrenches away her phone drops. Dimi bends to pick it up and notices who is calling. Gaby grabs her phone and stalks away!
Jimena finds Gaby crying and she thinks it’s because of Dimi, she tells her to ignore him. Gaby says it’s not because of him, it’s because of her friend Nino. Oh, Jimena says, the one we tried to help the other day? He needs more help than ever now and he’s going to come (I think? Hopefully he won’t run into Dimi!!!) Jimena wonders why Gaby is so affected.
Romina and Madrina are talking/fighting while trying to fix up the shack before someone shows up. Romina cleaning only lasts a few minutes and then she tells Madrina to watch Duvan and make sure he doesn’t leave. She is going out!! To Oscar’s!!! To demand more stuff, she needs for the house. Madrina tries to block her way, are you slow or something? You just signed the agreement to stay away! Do you like jail or something??? Romina is unimpressed. She is going to make that house hers as it should be. And yes, she has the keys in her hands.
Dimi is saying goodbye to the workers and when they leave, he starts to look around. I thought maybe we would see him searching the study proving he did know something about whatever Franco is hiding but instead he heads upstairs… I thought maybe to Gaby’s room because the house is empty and he’s a creep but we see someone in the shower!! (OH NO!!! Who is home?? Jimena and Gaby left, right?) Jackass enters the room and it IS Gaby in the shower!!! She must have decided to stay after Nino’s call. Where’s Jimena?? Dimi watches Gaby’s profile in the see-through shower and is about to make a move for the shower door when Sara’s voice rings out!! Gaby tells her mother to wait for her she will be out in a minute and Dimi flees thankfully!
Romina does what she does best and creeps through the woods half-dressed towards Oscar’s house but surprise, surprise the idiot was smart enough to change the locks!! Berta spies her and isn’t smart enough to run away or call the cops. Instead, she asks what she is doing there.
Season 2 Episode 56 – Thursday – Part 5 of 5
Romina defiant as ever says what do you care, witch? Berta makes it clear that even if she didn’t remember Romina’s face, she does recognize the voice and she’s not scared! Her hand is behind her back as she talks about Romina attacking her. Romina walks closer and Berta lists all the things Romina has done. I thought maybe she was recording but when Romina grabs a rock, we quickly discover Berta’s got a gun! She orders Romina to leave and never come back because if she does, she’s going to defend herself next time. Crazy ass Romina takes several steps closer and Berta should have shot!!! But instead, Romina drops the rock and Berta lets her leave!! Don’t turn your back on that witch, Berta.
Nighttime now, and another show from Muriel and Rosi performing together!!! They seem to be trying to one-up each other but maybe it’s part of the act. JD is there again to watch Muriel (presumably) and this whole routine with one woman openly flirting while the other stares longingly is disturbing again. JD looks mostly at Muriel but seems to be looking at Rosi too part of the time. Is his smile only for Muriel?
Rosi gets a lot of beautiful flowers she admires but Pancha wants to talk about the performances which are making her too more uncomfortable by the day. Isn’t Rosi ashamed to be staring at JD in front of Muriel? Isn’t she worried about what her daughter will think? Nope, Rosi couldn’t care less. Let her think whatever she wants. Rosi says JD looked back but Pancha thinks he only has eyes for Muriel. Rosi says he’s lying. He’s trying to pull it off he’s still thinking about Rosario and she knows it. He might be taken with Muriel right now but that crush is going to end soon. She says that fling could end at any moment thanks to a visit from someone. Pancha says who, and Rosi says Samuel!
JD and Muriel are taking the show to her room, making out as they enter and they quickly hit the bed.
Back at Juan’s ranch, he has apparently told Norma the truth but they still haven’t told us!!! Norma is very effected by the news and she can’t believe that Juan and Oscar hid this from all of them all these years! (She doesn’t appear mad though which is unbelievable!!! I wonder what they put in the water of this town???) Juan says Franco made them swear not to tell and when there’s an oath between the three brothers it’s sacred?? (Whatever!) Norma is only concerned with Franco’s safety. Juan has to do something! Go to where ever he is, save him!!! Juan laughs and they kiss. He tells her he discussed it with Oscar. Oscar is in no shape to go with all his problems, Juan is going to go alone with the lawyers. Norma asks what about Sarita and Juan says she’s the last person who should know! Franco would never forgive them!!?? (Really after everything he’s put Sara and his family through their first and only concern is whether or not Franco would forgive them??)
Jimena is entering Sara’s living room and I hope she tells her!!! Sara is looking at décor magazines thinking about how to redecorate. Jimena says even after all this time you need him more than ever. Sara says who, and Jimena says your husband, you’re trying to fill his void. Sara claims she isn’t thinking about Franco. He’s gone and that’s that.
Norma has some doubts about keeping this from Sarita but Juan insists she can’t find out because she would go crazy if she knew. Norma offers to go with him and Juan says you’ll come to the Middle East? Juan doesn’t know about that he can’t stand the idea of something happening to Norma, he would die if something happened to her, he needs to think about it. Norma says there’s no time to think he has to decide NOW! And I hope he takes her because my guess is she’ll be in more danger home alone with Adan still on the loose.
There we end for another day with no more information about exactly where Franco is than we had before but at least we know it’s something really far-fetched like Adriana wanted since it took him all the way to the Middle East!!
There you have it! I was going to say more about this episode but the computer has got me ripping my hair out this morning and this took way too long. Gotta go get ready for an appointment.
I will say I can not imagine what explanation could possibly justify lying to and deceiving your wife and family for years - even going so far as getting divorced!! AND having your brothers who are not just the uncles and brother-in-laws in the sense of being your own brothers but are also the husband's of your wife's sisters lie to your family too!! FOR YEARS!!! That is such a betrayal!!! Especially from Juan, Oscar is an idiot but Juan and Sarita are close and Juan is close to Andres and Gaby! I can't even imagine how you forgive that? How does Norma forgive that while barely raising an eyebrow??? And don't give me any BS about the oaths between brothers being sacred!!!
That said, I still love Franco and I can't wait til he gets back to see how he tries to talk himself out of this one and get Sara to forgive him! I am sure she will because she clearly still loves him so much but I hope she makes him work for it instead of just smiling and nodding and accepting this madness without a second thought!!!
Someone please kill DIMI!!! NOW!!
Darcy, such an entertaining recap and I'm in total agreement with your opinions, especially all those WTF moments.
First thing - Jimena finds the super important documents in the friggin' wall, which means that Franco put them there before building that wall (that takes premeditation, but who's keeping score?); and then, instead of running straight to her sister to tell her, she goes to sleep; nevermind they just talked about Franco and all the secrecy surrounding his leaving, looks like she'd rather keep Franco's secret, too... And she leaves the very important documents with an assistant... Oscar could have seen them a year from now or never.
Rosario was the one who paid for the photos! Color me surprised - she knows Muriel will think Big Sam is behind it, so she has the perfect alibi. And we know Big Sam is in town and has men following his ladies, too. So how are we supposed to know when Rosario is legitimaly scared as opposed to when she's using a trick to scare Muriel? And all of this for bland JD (sorry, Darcy, I don't mean his looks), who just sits there enjoying the mother-daughter show (literally).
I noticed how Eric called his mom Norma, too, I think it was a slip up of the actor and they decided to keep rolling. I don't see Norma agreeing to this.
I had to laugh at Romina's shenanigans, part 1000. She gets out of prison, agrees to a restraining order and then, first thing she does when the cops leave, she goes back to Oscar's ranch. She's so nutty, I find the whole thing laughable.
Maybe what Juan told Norma about those documents doesn't put the Reyes brothers in such a bad light as we think. With this show you never know, whatever they say to justify it, it won't be enough. Franco being in the Middle East sounds about right. At least it's not an alien abduction, am I right?
Juan should take Andres with him, he's Franco's son and he's a Reyes man. Albin, too, the three of them would make the perfect trio to go save Franco. And I bet even the twins would jump at the opportunity.
Dimi should just drop dead!
Thank you so much Darcy for a beautiful recap. My thoughts on this episode?? WTF!!! Sara!!! should it take demented Dimi finally raping Gabi before you come to your senses?? This is Gabriella and Fernando all over again I'm afraid, our only hope is Franco getting his behind home asap!!
I don't get JD and his mixed signals...who does he want?? and if Rosario thinks Samuel coming back will end Muriel's relationship and make JD hers again then I'm sorry but she's got it all wrong. What kind of mother too is she?? Like how broken and selfish can you be to go as far as destroying your own daughter's relationship. That whole performance scene with her one-upping Muriel on stage was just horrible to watch in my opinion.
I do get your frustration with Franco dear Darcy but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe what he hid from his family was super dangerous and them knowing could have had them killed or something idk but to me it looks like he would rather sacrifice himself than to see his family in danger. Of course we can't tell how Sarita may take it when she finds out...she might slap him senseless and kiss him senseless too right after.
My favourite scene of the episode...Berta being a badass with that gun although it would have been better to record Romina trying to break in...an attempted break in charge is good enough to keep her behind bars a little longer.
Norma better go with Juan cos Adan is still in the loose and might strike again any moment soon.
Great recap Darcy! I enjoy your take on——well—— pretty much EVERYTHING! Sarita protesteth way too heartily on Dimi’s behalf, for my liking! She has turned into her mother where he is concerned, and how you can trust someone this much, after knowing him not at all, is a true stumper! Can someone really be that lonely? Dumbing down people for the sake of progressing the story is nauseating. Especially from grown, intelligent women. Sarita can run a ranch, but can’t think to investigate a man who has stalked her daughter and come out of nowhere??? Makes no sense and if there’s one thing I can’t stand is senseless!
Also senseless, like Adriana commented is that Jimena didn’t go to Sarita first?!?! And why Oscar of all people?? I would’ve went to Juan before going to Oscar, and never have left such important info with an assistant! Like what?!?! Then Juan telling Norma that Sarita shouldn’t know?!?! How does that make sense?!?!? She’s his wife and it’s up to her to decide what she wants to do. The “brother code” is BS! The wife comes first—— Oh they’re divorced though right!?!?! So what! Then their children should know! I like the idea of Juan taking Andres and Albin with him! They are BADAZZ, and Albin is smart! Hope Sarita talks to the guys that Albin told her to speak with about Demetrio.
Then there’s JD who’s becoming more and more senseless by the minute! He’s supposed to be this respected veterinarian, but now seems to spend all his time at the bar leering like a pervert. I don’t care if he’s drooling over Muriel or Rosario, but it’s disgusting! Go do some “real man “ stuff! I’m hoping Muriel falls out of love with his dumb ass….
My favorite scene, like MaameAdwoa was BADAZZ Berta! Yeah, it would’ve made sense for her to record the whole thing, or call the cops, but she showed kooky-crazy that she ain’t playin! Jimena needs to take some lessons from Berta! I still would’ve shot Romina in the leg, lol!
Right now I’m afraid for both Gaby and Norma. Both of them are fighters though, and they’re not just gonna lay down like dying swans when Dimi and Adan make their move, at least I hope not! Maybe the BADAZZ Sarita we once knew, will show up too! Both Norma and Gaby should be armed——ALWAYS!
NOVELERA
A BIG SHOUT OUT TO YOU FOR ALL YOUR RECAPPING EFFORTS........You always Brought It!!
YC: Yarren...I got to hand it to 'Reyyan when she said..All I got--I got through Pain..!!
for Real...!!...Reyyan suffered every inch of that KARMA..!!
LET'S SEE...Dilsah the victim ..locked up..Hanife..dead... the rest od Azize victims...goshknowswhere..Shukrun..???
so Yarren went bananas...cute abt the parents/azat feeding bananas to that APE!!
KEEP that ape locked up!!
THANKS...!!
Fantastic recap, Darcy!
Lol I loved "Oscar agrees this is a good idea but Oscar isn’t smart" and "the idiot was smart enough to change locks!"
Another WTF episode! JD is just... odd at this point. I was feeling the Pasión with him and Muriel at first, but now the only thing I'm feeling is APASIÓN (the opposite of Pasión, for some reason I kept misspelling Pasión as Apasión, so I created a term out of it lol).
I agree with everyone's comments. Jimena did an incredibly stupid thing, giving the papers to Óscar!
A short comment today because I'm sleepy. Good day/night to everyone!
Maame, I believe you described Sarita perfectly when it comes to Franco - slap him sensless and then kiss him senseless. I mean, she's suffered a lot but so has he, and he was all alone and far away from his family.
Carmella, JD started out as the golden child, but right now he's just chasing tail, if I may say so. Had to laugh when you asked him to be a real man - yeah, JD, be a man, go break some walls. LOL
Great snarky recap, novelera. Thanks for all your recaps! Well done! Loved “Miran comes to my rescue and wrests the gun away” a comment a fellow recapper can truly appreciate.
Way too much Yaren in this one. Will they be able to rehabilitate someone like her in prison? Maybe they will send her to the manicomio instead. Thank goodness she didn’t harm Umut.
“Yaren then points the gun at her own head. [The patio chants in unison: “Do it! Do it!]” That’s exactly what I said!
“… being an uncle suits Cihan.” Is that because he sucks at being a father? That was a cut/paste scene with Cihan and Handan discussing how they went wrong with Yaren. They said the exact same things a couple of times before. IIRC the last time, they decided to marry her off to Harun. Susanlynn is right: “Cihan >>>>pot meet your little kettle.” So glad Azat escaped!
I was very surprised that Nasuh didn’t go after Azize and he’s keeping this to himself.
Not 100% sure, but I think Esma and Azize were closing up the Aslanbey konak.
Oh, no… Zehra’s back.
Many thanks, novelera, for yet another excellent recap. Even though the episode had some bright spots, for me the Yellow Centipede's evil laugh hovered over everything, making me fearful even during seemingly happy moments (Yikes! I hope I'm not turning into Zehra!).
So Azize is still the owner of the Aslanbey mansion and thus can bequeath it to Reyyan? I somehow assumed that either Fusun or Firat had the honor of that dubious ownership. I think Reyyan made the right choice in planning to use it somehow for the newly revived Foundation. Though, of course, her having it at all was another thing Yaren held against her.
I wasn't enthusiastic about Azize in this episode. She's already done umpteen Mea Culpas, and as a result I found most of her thinking in this episode rather repetitious and heavy-handed. Like so much else in this dizi.
I agree strongly with your comment "too little, too late" re Cihan's and Handan's recognition that they are much to blame for Yaren's evil behavior. Though frankly, her behavior is so extreme and unprovoked that I keep thinking there's something biological/neurological at work as well.
Ah yes, the patio chanted "Do it! Do it!" so strongly that the window panes in my apartment rattled. (Of course, my jumping up and down as I chanted may have helped.)
So why did Reyyan ask Miran not to press charges? Was she hoping that Yaren would be grateful to her and never bother her again? Didn't she realize that even if Yaren did get sent to prison for killing Harun (not at all certain, since it was in fact an accident), her resentment of Reyyan would simply fester, and when she was released....?
Just two more episodes to go!!
Thanks everyone and I agree with all the comments! Even the comments about JD! As much as it pains me to say it, they've kind of dulled his sparkle and our making him weird....but he is still a handsome weird! :)
I think I'm more frustrated with the writing then I am with Franco, like Carmella said parts of this are just senseless, who knows, maybe they can still come up with something that will make it make more sense when we have more information but for right now it's a big ???
And even with that, it's more frustration with Juan and Oscar (although he's just an idiot) than with Franco. Because I can understand wanting to protect your family from something dangerous and not telling them. Okay, fine. So you go off for a day or a week or whatever and investigate and don't tell anyone; you swear your brothers to secrecy, okay. But when something clearly goes wrong and a week turns into months, turns into years and there's no resolution?? You tell someone what's up!!! How do you look your sis-in-law and nephew and niece in the face day after day, year after year knowing their husband/father is in some huge danger somewhere and say nothing? You just let them believe he left/abandoned them and let the divorce happen and say nothing????
That would be weird in any family, in a family like the Reyes/Elizondo's where all the brothers marry the sisters and everyone talks about how family is everything every five seconds it's just plain incomprehensible! Even if you keep a secret in the beginning, you don't keep keeping that same secret for YEARS even though you don't actually know where your brother is or what he is doing! And this must be true since they said NOW they can go and the information in the papers is what gives them the knowledge to go.
Maybe Franco is a spy? A double agent? A triple agent? What exactly could he have possibly have learned or accidentally stumbled onto while working his ranch in Mexico that landed him in a prison chain gang in the Middle East??? Remember when this show was about a Professor getting murdered??? LOL
Reyyan is too trusting. She is putting herself in danger by not pressing charges against Yaren. There is forgiveness and then there is self preservation and protection of loved ones.
I am so ready for another story . Hopefully one that does not require me to wear an industrial strengtg beanie and suspend my disbelief to new heights . Basta.
You Pasión fans probably know this, but the reason for Michel Brown originally turning down his opportunity to be in Pasion 2 was about starring in another role. Perhaps you all had a big discussion about this, and I didn't see it. I do sometimes read the recaps, and I'm watching this week's episodes because Hercai is ending this coming Monday. I am only current through this Monday, though.
I have been watching Michel in that role: Pálpito. I am enjoying it. I get these emails from Netflix once in a while; and, in the San Francisco Bay Area, Pálpito is in the top ten shows on Netflix. I had to struggle a bit to get it in Spanish, with Spanish subtitles. When I first tried to watch, Netflix had it dubbed in English. I don't have a smart TV, and I suspect my Roku device may be harder to work with in the menus to change things. But I have it now.
My problem is finding time to watch! I'm watching Hercai and lots of sports. We are fortunate in the Bay Area to have both the Giants and Warriors having excellent seasons.
Novelera, I added it to my Netflix cue but I haven't had time to watch yet. It looks like a interesting show! I have heard it's really popular! I am looking forward to watching it!
Carmella Loved “monkey thinks she owns every banana tree in the jungle”! And also your mentioning that the inept cops were unable to disarm the nutcase.
Halimacandy Amen on “keep that ape locked up”!
dondi356 Thanks for the tip that Esma and Azize were locking up the Aslanbey konak. These exteriors of buildings are often very confusing to me. I don’t think they always use the same entrances. I was also surprised Nasuh just sat there after reading Azize’s note. Again in the minority, I’m hoping for Ayse to be reunited with her family. IMHO she’s deserving of this, especially after saving Umut in the womb.
Juanita Loved the image of the windows rattling in your apartment from the entire Patio wishing Yaren would blow what few brains she has all over the cops standing behind her with their thumbs you know where. And, yes, Reyyan’s saintly act can wear on us. She should have wanted every charge possible leveled against Yaren. Hope they’re not going with Yaren “seeing the light” in prison and showing up in the gran final.
Novelera, thanks for the details on Palpito. I did know he was filming another show when Pasion 2 started shooting and I heard recently that this show is doing rather well on Netflix. Actually the actress playing Libia/ Ruth in Pasion 1 has a role in it, too. I haven't checked it out, yet, but I will as soon as I find it in original. Like you, I don't like dubbing, it's some of the reason I can't get into Turkish stories (when I used to watch them back in the day, I had captions and actually was beginning to understand some turkish expressions).
Thank you Novelera, for the interesting information!
I must be the only person on Earth that doesn't have Netflix, lol.
I absolutely hate dubbing as well. It's always better to hear the actual actors than the ones that dub them. The channel that shows telenovelas in my country usually dubs them and their voices turn out to be completely ridiculous. Captions over dubbing all the way!
Season 2 Episode 57 – Friday – Part 1 of 4
Jimena tells Sarita she needs to worry more about her kids – especially Gaby!!! Does she have a boyfriend? What’s going on with her? How’s she feeling? Sarita says she has an agreement with her children to give them space and privacy but Jimena thinks Gaby needs more attention. She’s a sensitive and vulnerable girl Sara should be watchful of her. Sara agrees Gaby is all of that and fearful of men, for example, the paranoia she has of Dimi!? (it’s not paranoia Sara that man is a creep!!!) Jimena asks about Nino and Sara is oddly convinced that Gaby only sees him as a friend?? Really Gaby is completely obsessed with Nino and we know Sara has noticed this!!! Where is her brain this week? Jimena warns Sara not to be deceived she needs to pay more attention to her kids!
Juan and Oscar meet with the lawyers, it’s good news!! The paperwork is in order, they checked it carefully to make sure there was no room for error and it’s complete. With this they can prove that all Franco’s sales were legal, he wasn’t laundering money and didn’t have any involvement in drug trafficking! That’s right folks Franco is in a prison in Qatar accused of all kinds of shady dealings good honest ranchmen should shy away from! But now that they have the proof to show the Qatar authorities and get Franco released from jail!
Gabs is at Sara’s house fawning all over Dimi’s work and going on and on about how wonderful the new space is!!! She even suggests Andres could put on a show there with his dancers!! Everyone looks at grandma like she hit her head too hard when she fell to the ground with that shoulder shot. Grandma chides Andres for being unimpressed and suggests dear Dimi should have been an architect but oh well, either way he will be the perfect husband to replace the one who went away and never came back! (Yep, she actually said that!) More looking at Granny like she’s touched in the head, and really, she kind of is so it fits.
Juan wants to know exactly how it happened that his brother was arrested in the first place. The lawyers tell them that Franco was doing some sort of livestock sale there which the authorities were suspicious of because of the price of the animals. They decided the transaction was fraudulent and arrested Franco. It’s complicated because the main business language there is English but the language of the country is Arabic and it can be difficult for prisoners to communicate or define their legal status because of the communication barrier. Added to that is the assumption that if you are laundering money, you are most likely tied to drug trafficking or some other nefarious dealings and it makes it very difficult to defend yourself in their system! But no worries because those papers are the proof they need. They are going to check yet again with a third lawyer just to make sure every t is crossed and every i is dotted and then they will be ready to go. Oscar wants to know why the papers were buried in the wall and the lawyers agree it’s a great question, but only Franco can answer it.
Season 2 Episode 57 – Friday – Part 2 of 4
Jimena and Norma are riding together – or really walking and leading their horses talking about Sara and their mother’s obvious attempts to set her up with Dimi. Norma doesn’t think it’s anything to worry about because Sarita can hold her own against her mom but Jimena says ever since she’s moved in with Sara she’s been shocked by how much Sara argues with Gaby and Andres to defend the slimeball Dimi! Norma thinks that’s unsettling especially knowing what they now do about Franco. They talk about their luck in finding those papers and Norma hopes Jimena didn’t say anything to Sara!!! (??) Jimena agrees!!! Parish the thought!! She hasn’t said a word to Sara or her kids! Norma asks if Jimena read the papers and what do they say? Jimena said she read them. They were very complicated but the one thing that was clear is that Franco got in a bunch of trouble for doing a deal in an Arabic country! (It occurs to me that it would sort of make sense to not tell Sara what’s going on if you thought Franco was guilty, maybe Jimena thinks he did it???) Jimena says that’s why he’s in prison. Jimena wants to know what is going to happen next and Norma isn’t sure but they are contacting international lawyers to find out. The ladies agree they have to do whatever they can to help Franco.
Norma returns home and Quintina goes to meet her. She tells her Juan and Oscar are hauled up in the study talking to the lawyers and Norma wonders if they’ve been there long and Quintina says hours.
The youngest generation of Reyes brothers pull up together in JD’s truck just as the lawyers are leaving and they wonder what is going on. JD says they are lawyers who have been there all morning in dad’s study talking about who knows what. JD wonders if Uncle Oscar says said anything to the twins, but they say no. They need to find out what’s going on. They go in to the lunch table and the adults have no qualms lying to their faces coming up with some story about some business with the fashion center that Juan and Norma are helping with. The boys assume it’s to make things up to Jimena and they are all for it. Juan ironically calls for a toast to the Reyes family more united than ever and no one has a problem with this even as they know that half the table is actively lying to the other half of the table even as the glasses clink! We do learn the decision has been made Norma is going with Juan on the ‘business’ trip. The boys don’t believe any of this BS but dad just says worry about your own issues, accept what we are saying, y punto!
Oscar goes to attend to round 847 with Romina who doesn’t give a damn about her restraining order or the fact that he knows she violated it. She’s going to do whatever she wants! She also complains about being stuck in that millhouse dump even though she has actively refused to leave a million times!! They have the same fight again and Oscar warns Romina that Berta is authorized to defend herself however she needs to.
Gaby is talking to Nino on the phone and she’s upset because he had told her that he was ready to leave that neighborhood with his family and now he’s changing his mind! Gaby and Jimena were all set to come and get them the next day, but Nino’s boss Zarco Merino found out somehow and now has threatened him. Nino has to help him with ‘two hits’ this weekend and there’s nothing he can do. He can’t go against Zarco, he would kill him!! Nino is so sorry but he has to stay.
Samuel calls Muriel and tells her not to leave the house for any reason, he is going to arrive any time now and he wants to find her at home! She tells mommy the wonderful news!
Season 2 Episode 57 – Friday – Part 3 of 4
Juan has a nightmare about Franco being tortured and fighting for his life. He needs to get to his brother! (Michel looks badass fighting off all those guards and yelling out Juan!!!) Juan startles awake and Norma tries to calm him. They are going to get Franco and everything will be alright. Juan describes his dream as if what he saw in his dream was real and I guess Don Martin isn’t the only family member who believes what he dreams.
JD, Eric and Leon try the divide and conquer method with their parents, JD going to Juan and the twins going to Norma but they get nowhere. It’s obvious mommy and daddy are lying but they refuse to budge. Juan does give JD the slight respect of acknowledging that he isn’t giving him all the details of the trip but that’s all he gets. He is just going to have to accept that he is going to stay out of the loop. Dad thinks JD will understand when he’s a father but JD tells him when he’s a dad he isn’t going to keep up with this stupid tradition of lying to his kids!! (You tell him JD!) Juan says ‘good for you!’ and in the meantime just pray for our safe return and deal with it! Norma just stonewalls the twins and tells them to go away and let her pack she has a lot to do in a little time.
Dimi is back at Sara’s, back to harassing Gaby. He tries telling her about the changes he will make but she doesn’t want to hear it. Sara sees this from the balcony, but does she SEE it?? I don’t think so because the next scene they are just moving furniture and talking about the remodel. Sara sees a picture of her and Franco and is overcome she goes to look out the window and Dimi stands too close behind her fantasizing about attacking her from behind and stabbing her!!! He is overcome and he tries to kiss her! Sara fights him off and slaps him! Dimi immediately apologizes and says it will never happen again. He won’t touch her much less kiss her ever again… until they are married??? Sara is shaken but says nothing. (Run Woman, RUN!!!!)
The twins are talking about how obvious it is they are being lied to and they wonder what could be so important their parents have to lie about it? But there’s nothing they can do but wait until they return and find out.
Rosi comes to the ranch again to flirt with JD, um I mean warn him not to whisk Muriel off to their secret hideaway because Samuel is in town and it could cause an issue. A hideaway that by the way, she would have loved to visit! She’s too friendly, of course, and JD lets her get too close, of course; but nothing traumatizing happens this time and JD is asking her to leave as Juan arrives to do the same thing. Rosi pretty hilariously asks if she can ever expect to visit this ranch without having to see Juan! (It’s his ranch, sweetie!) Juan warns JD that Rosi is still a danger to him, she isn’t going to give up! JD needs to be careful. JD has the perfect answer for Dad: “If you’re so worried about me, why don’t you take me with you on your trip so you can protect me?” (Look at the looks on both actor’s faces during this exchange!! So funny!)
Muriel is looking for Rosi during this same scene and it’s a reversal of all the times mother looked for daughter while Muriel was off with JD. Gunter implies to Muriel that Rosi got all dressed up and went off to see someone at a hacienda but Muriel just tells him to get a life and stalks off.
Season 2 Episode 57 – Friday – Part 4 of 4
Another night and another mildly disturbing mother/daughter dance routine…. this time both ladies are alarmed by a couple off the audience members, Samuel’s guards/spies presumably. Rosi is so disturbed by it she’s ready to come out swinging. Gunter tries to calm her down but she pushes him practically into the wall! Rosi isn’t going to live like this and she reminds the ghoul for the umpteenth time that he is part of the problem. Pancha also in the room gives Gunter dirty looks as she follows her crazy friend out of the room.
In a scene so odd it would be funny if it wasn’t horrifying, Gabs is having dinner with Dimi and trying to explain to him that HER family is strange, she wonders how the people who claim to love you can attack you… But Dimi is too busy fantasizing about ways to kill Sarita to listen to a word she’s saying!!! (OMG the creep factor here!!!) When Gabs is finally able to get Dimi’s attention, she asks what he is thinking about and he meekly admits ‘Sarita!’ Gabs smiles and says how she wishes she could meet a man who loved her the way he loves Sarita!!! And not just her, many women would want a love like that! (Okay it isn’t just almost funny, it is funny! I am cracking up laughing, I admit it. What a stupid woman!)
JD is on the phone telling Muriel about the strange trip. He wishes he was at the bar with her. Muriel misses him too but it’s better that he stays away for now. Dad isn’t even there yet and already he’s imposing his will which scares Muriel. JD is holding out hope that when Sam meets him and gets to know him everything will be okay (Goodluck with that!)
JD hangs up and Don Martin wheels into the room laughing and telling JD he knows what is going on! Juan and Norma aren’t going on a business trip or their 5th honeymoon, it’s a rescue mission!!! The birds told him!!! There’s a little bird stuck in a big cage surrounded by those who want to do harm to him and they are going to rescue him! And it’s good that they rescue him but as soon as they do the danger is going to follow him home!!! JD just thinks grandpa is drunk, and to be fair he probably is.
That’s it for another week!
**Note: Pasion is going to be preempted both Monday and Tuesday next week they said at the end that is wouldn’t be on until Wednesday night due to Finale episodes of Hercai on one night and I forget which other show on the other night.
We are in the final Turkish episode. This is the quote for the day: “Goodbyes are for those who love with their eyes, because those who love with their hearts never leave.” --Hazreti Mevlana (Rumi)
Cihan leaves the police station. Nasuh and Handan are waiting outside. Nasuh tells Handan to let him be for a while. Cihan sits on the steps and cries. We see a hand placed on his shoulder. It’s Miran, who sits next to him.
Miran, I’m so sorry, Cihan says as he wipes his tears. My heart is breaking, I just saw my daughter. And here comes the same old speech. [did you really expect him to change 100%?] I was never a great father, and here I speak about my own heart. I wasn’t a father to my son, much less to my daughter, my baby.
Stop punishing yourself [and viewerville], Miran says. I mean it, Cihan replies. Listen, Miran, had I been a good father, my son wouldn’t have left and my daughter wouldn’t be in prison. All I can do now is pay for my ambitions. I was never a good father, son, brother, husband or… a good uncle.
You can be one now, Miran tells him. We’ve been through a lot. For a while we hated each other. You’ve done other things, though. You offered support after I lost my father. You helped me get Umut back, even if it meant you taking the blame. You put your life on the line to protect Reyyan when Yaren aimed her gun. I’ve changed a lot, Miran says, but you have also changed. Cihan starts to cry again.
Miran continues, I couldn’t enjoy having a father, we didn’t get to share a lot of time together. All I have left are my grandfather… and you, in my life. Miran helps Cihan up. You told Reyyan that her father lives on in you. So then, you are my father, too. Isn’t that right, uncle? Cihan embraces Miran and cries, yes, son. That’s right.
Miran voiceover: We were all like loose beads. We had been thrown about everywhere. (Yaren is lead out of the station in cuffs.) Some like me, went willingly, but others went accidentally.
Cut to Rey and Umut. Miran’s voice: A mother hugging her child is life’s most real moment. (Zehra enters the room and Rey hugs her.) Children will hug their mothers now. They will cry tears of joy, not sadness. (Zehra holds Umut and both moms admire him) It’s time to finally put those beads in order.
Back to Yaren. Handan calls out to her. The cops let Handan and Cihan have one last hug. Yaren goes to kiss Nasuh’s hand, but he pulls her up into a hug instead. Yaren looks over at Miran. He gives her a nod that she returns. Time to go Yaren,.. bye, bye.
Miran’s voice again as Yaren looks back from the car: we all live out what is allotted to us. Some children will come back later, and their parents will rejoice. But a child that leaves will always come back.
Cihan, Handan and Nasuh return to the Sad konak. Miran continues: now is the time to spend time together and heal our pain. It’s time to set the beads together. (Zehra comes out on the patio to greet everyone. She goes to kiss Nasuh’s hand but he pulls her into a big hug.) We will all heal. We’ve understood that if one of us is incomplete, we are all incomplete. (Zehra hugs Handan) Now is the time to be one big family. It’s time to dry our tears and write a happy ending for all. (Teary Nasuh walks off by himself, Cihan takes note) It’s time to be a real family.
We have survived so many misfortunes. (Cihan has followed his father and watches him cry. He turns away without a word.) We put a stop to so many with love. With the power of affection. Through love, we all became one. It’s time to come together with those who made us who we are.
ReyMir look at photos from the circumcision. They stop at a pic of Nasuh and Azize with Umut. She left, Rey says. I thought that everyone would leave, but that she would stay.
Do you want me to bring my grandma back, Miran asks? Of course, Rey replies. The scars won’t disappear quickly and it will be difficult, but we’ve forgiven a lot. Closing the Aslanbey mansion was a big step for her. The war ended. I spoke to grandpa, Miran says, we’ll leave the past behind and we will write new stories and make new memories. I’ll find my grandmother and bring her back.
It won’t be easy, Rey thinks, her letter…. Miran knows. He tells her we will set the best table, a table at which only our loved ones will sit. It will be just like in your dream [well, almost]. She nods. Miran assures, my grandmother will also be at that table. It will be a huge table where everyone can sit, Rey says. No one will fight. Everyone there will love and protect each other. It will be such a good table, Miran replies, that even those who are gone will be able to sense it. Rey agrees.
Miran admires his own picture. He jokes about sending it to an agency, so they could schedule a casting call for him. [only if they’re looking for an “angrybangs” type!] More banter about Rey being jealous. She would claw his eyes and tear his hair out [just the bangs, please!] FF>> the rest.
Esma tries teaching Zeynep to knit. Firat comes in and Esma explains they are knitting a sweater for the baby. Firat asks why it’s white. Don’t you do pink for a boy or blue for a girl or is it the other way around? [is he serious? Zeynep is carrying the baby but I think Firat has the pregnancy brain] It’s too early to know the gender and Zeynep says she doesn’t care for those classifications anyway. Agreed!
Firat gets serious. He asks his mom if she has any problems. Grandma (Azize) left, he says, and you’re as fine as can be. He realizes that she must know where Azize is. Esma denies it. Firat doesn’t believe her. There is a knock at the door. Firat says this convo is not over. Cihan has come. He wants to talk to Esma in private.
Miran reminds Nasuh that he is looking for Azize. Don’t tire yourself. Nasuh thinks it’s useless, they won’t find her. They’ve searched everywhere. Miran gets a call from Talat Bey in Kars. No one has seen Azize there. Nasuh says Azize wouldn’t go to Kars. She knows we would look there. My Ayse is gone, he laments, she left. Death is near and Ayse is far away. Don’t say that, Miran tells him, I’ll get angry.
Instead, Miran tries to turn this into a lesson on romance for his grandpa. [Good grief.] Rey interrupts and things get worse. They each have ideas on what he should say when Ayse returns. Nasuh seems to get a kick out of his grandchildren’s interaction. He likes their energy. Good for him, bad for me, FF>> They send Nasuh off to get some rest and Miran gets frisky with Rey and she fights him off Ugh.
Esma insists she doesn’t know where Azize is. Cihan knows better. He says he bears no ill will and Esma believes him. Cihan also knows that Azize wouldn’t leave Midyat without leaving a pair of eyes behind and those eyes could only belong to Esma. Cihan asks, you cared about my brother, right? You hid letters when Dilsah tried to run away. You did more for him, too.
I loved Hazar, Esma replies. I’d for love him to be with us. Me, too, Cihan says. I’m not Azize’s enemy anymore. She’s my brother’s mother. If you want my brother to rest in peace, tell me where Azize is and don’t let her die alone. Her family is expecting her. Where is Azize Aslanbey?
is lying on the bed, writing. Miran comes in fresh from a shower. He sneaks up on her shakes his wet hair all over her. [those bangs are indestructible!] Stop! Enough! Stop! She cries out. She’s trying to get work done, but he’s been working, too. He’s reading the parenting book Rey gave him. Chapter 20: “Ways to keep the flame alive after the arrival of your first baby”. Sorry, I can’t go on. Recapper’s prerogative, FF>> But I will add that she tells Miran she is working on something for the Foundation. It’s a surprise.
ReyMir go to the Foundation. Rey gushes over the set up. Miran gives credit to Mahfuz. He wanted to make his daughter’s dream come true. Miran asks Rey about her idea. She’s planned a board. The children can write their dreams on colorful paper and pin them up. She tells him that afterward they can work on making the dreams come true. We will teach those who don’t know how to dream. We’ll tell them that nothing is impossible. And they will have to work hard to achieve what they want in life.
Big kid Miran wants to be the first one to pin his dream to the board. He dreams of having a daughter who is like Reyyan. “Sana benzeyen kızımız olsun” Rey is uneasy. Shhh… he tells her, don’t spoil it. We love miracles. We make the impossible possible. I know one day it will happen. I’ll never stop dreaming big. Maybe one day when we least expect it… we will have a daughter who is just like you.
Azize is preparing food, when there is a knock at the door. She thinks it’s Esma. Nope it’s Cihan. May I come in? Azize stands at the wood stove and stirs her pot. Are you here to witness my suffering, she asks? Are you here to see what remains of the powerful Azize? Are you here to rejoice? I don’t care if you are here to watch me suffer. My heart is numb to it all. I don’t want to live anymore. I wish to go with my beloved sons, my unborn grandchildren, and above all, my beloved Hazar. My greatest wish is to be reunited with my son. Cihan listens in respectful, sorrowful silence.
Azize continues, God won’t allow it, though. I’ve sinned so much that He won’t let me leave this world. I must accept God’s will. Cihan speaks up, or maybe he’s giving you a second chance to make up for your sins and your worst mistakes. What do you mean, Azize asks? I’m here to take you back, Cihan tells her. I will return my brother’s mother to her family. Azize won’t go. I hurt the family too much, she says, and I must live out my days alone.
Cihan asks, what about my father? He loves you very much. So much that he forgot about everything you did as Azize. He accepted you as you were. He said, “Ayse is the love of my life.” What about Miran and Reyyan? What about Bahar and Gul, my brother’s daughters [yeah, what about ‘em?] What about Umut? I was there and I clearly heard Hazar ask you to care and protect his own. How can you leave after that? Azize sniffles and asks Cihan to be quiet.
I can be quiet and leave if you want me to, he says. You can trust me and I won’t tell them where you are. But how will you silence your conscience? When your time comes, won’t my brother ask you how they are and if you cared for them? How will you answer, what will you tell him? We have all paid for what we have done. I paid and you…
Azize recounts, I’ve paid dearly for the wickedness I unleashed. I lost a piece of my soul. I’ve left my loved ones for their sake. It’s not like that, Cihan tells her. That’s the easy way out. The right thing to do is to be a grandmother to a young woman who lost her father, to be by my father’s side while he mourns a painful loss. She shakes her head, I can’t.
Cihan continues, we have all sinned and we will pay for it. We will beg for their forgiveness until we die. One lifetime is not enough, Azize responds. Running away isn’t the answer, Cihan says. We’ll be together, we will forgive and we will attempt to be forgiven. Look at us. We are here after all we’ve been through. I’m being as kind and gentle as I can be. Come back to your family. This is what my brother would’ve wanted. You know I’m right. Has Cihan made his case?
Cihan returns to the Sad konak with Azize! Welcome, Ayse Hanım, he tells her. He leaves her to enter herself. He has to meet Handan to gather stuff for Yaren.
The guard opens the door. Azize breaks into a smile. Nasuh is there on the patio. My Ayse…. My Ayse. They go to each other. Welcome, my Ayse, welcome. She tells him Cihan came to get her. He was very kind. He’s a good son. We all wanted you to come back, Nasuh says. Welcome. For the love of God, never leave again. if you do, you will cry at my grave. I won’t be able to stand it. They embrace.
Obnoxious Miran drives up to the Foundation honking his horn and shouting for Umut Sadoglu. Rey meets him at the entrance. She notes his happiness and says, I think you brought grandma back. Cihan found her, he says. She’s surprised. Everything we thought impossible is possible. This is the result of the kindness in your heart, she tells him. He answers, you are the source of that kindness. Your beautiful heart healed us all. They go inside.
Nasuh and Azize sit alone in a room. I’m finally here Nasuh, Azize says. I’m with all of Hazar’s loved ones. I promise till the day I die to be the Ayse you first met. I believe in you, Ayse, he replies. Cihan went to get you and Miran looked, too. So did I. We all believed. Ayse… we’re not young anymore. We don’t know how many years we have left. I want to see your clothes next to mine in my closet. I want to see my last name following yours.
Azize’s eyes widen. Nasuh… are you asking me… He nods. It’s time we do this, Ayse. Let’s give our weary hearts what they deserve. She scoffs. The family will laugh at us. So let them, Nasuh responds. I want this mansion to be our home. “Benimle evlenir misin, Aysem?” Will you marry me, my Ayse? Azize is stunned. We don’t hear her answer.
ReyMir look at the dream board. She wants to make the children’s dreams come true asap. Me-ran wants to work on his dream first. Rey does her coy act. Some of the dreams will be easier than others to make happen. A freezer of ice cream. A girl wants to be a mermaid and an astronaut. Rey says they will have to get creative with some. There’s a child who wishes his dad would stop hitting his mom.
Mahfuz arrives with a surprise. Children from the orphanage arrive. Miran arranged it. The kids get busy writing their wishes for the board. There’s one little girl who sits away in the corner. Rey tries to get her to join in with no luck. The girl won’t even look at her.
ReyMir look over the new postings. Rey points out the little girl who didn’t write. Miran goes to her. He introduces himself, Reyyan and Umut and he asks her name. She doesn’t answer. Rey invites her again to write her wish. ReyMir try their best, but the girl doesn’t speak. Miran points out his wish on the heart in the center of the board. She looks over at the board. Rey asks, don’t you want to know what he wrote? The girl shakes her head no. Miran says he understands, but if she wants to talk they will be around.
The girl takes the orphanage director’s hand and leads her to the board. She points to Miran’s wish. What does it say? It says, “I want to have a daughter like you.” The girl smiles. Reyyan looks on.
And we are out and on to the gran final!
My last recap before we leave Midyat. Even if the eps haven’t been fun, I’ve had a lot of fun on the patio, snarking along with you! Herkese çok teşekkürler. Thanks much everyone.
Dondi, thanks for yet another wonderful recap as the writers try their best to cheer up the characters that are left...and us .
Nasuh wanting to Azz's clothes next to his in the closet makes me think of La Hiya when Melek wanted her parents 'clothes together in a closet . I get it.
dondi356, thanks for mentioning that your part 1 was missing. I've now restored it from (Not) Spam.
Thanks for restoring my recap, Juanita!
Thanks, Susanlynn. Sharp Embajador recall! Yep, Melek wanted to keep some of her father’s clothes in the closet. Nare told her that can’t happen.
Thanks VERY VERY much, dondi356, for this and all your other wonderful recaps!!
I loved the quote from Rumi you posted at the start of this recap. It seems appropriate for the dizi, but also beyond the dizi.
I also loved all your snarky comments, starting with "And here comes the same old speech. [did you really expect him to change 100%?]" And perhaps especially "Stop punishing yourself [and viewerville], Miran says." Good grief, for once Me-ran is thinking of others aside from himself!
The voiceover "But a child that leaves will always come back" suggests to me that we'll see a "hail, hail, the gang's all here" gran final, including Azat and Gonul (but NOT, I hope, the Yellow Centipede!). Not sure about Dilsah, esp. now that Hazar is dead. But she is Miran's mother. And Azra's adopted mother. Perhaps we'll also see Azra, with any luck after she has buried her bio-mother. As for Bahar and Gul, since they probably left because of the pandemic threat, I kinda doubt we'll see them. (Indeed, I keep wondering about the parents of the adorable baby who was cast as Umut. He more than Bahar and Gul was in constant close contact with many of the cast members. Did his parents not worry?)
This episode gave me a huge sugar overdose. Fortunately, I don't have diabetes. But I certainly appreciated your repeated use of the recapper's FF>> prerogative.
Again, many many thanks!!
Thank you, Darcy, for writing such an entertaining recap - I haven't watched, yet, I'll try to comment later about the actual episode, but I totally got your interpretation of the scene between Gabs and Dimi, as I have the same feeling soometimes. I think there have to be remnants of the actors laughing their hearts out in between takes.
About next week - I have a couple of very difficult work days, but I'm able to recap Thursday's show. Could you guys cover Wednesday and Friday?
Great recap, Darcy!
Before I forget, I can recap Wednesday's episode. Darcy, is it ok for you to recap Friday's?
Lol, I'm lucky that I didn't watch the slightly disturbing mother/daughter dances... I'm even MORE lucky that I didn't watch the Gabs and Dimi interaction at the end. WTF? Gabs, WAKE UP!
Yep, I can do Friday.
Weirdo - the scene with Gabs and Dimi was funny you should watch it! It shouldn't have been, it's one of those things where you feel like a horrible person for finding it funny but it was. It was just so ironic - two people having dinner, one is going on and on about how can you possibly want to hurt someone if you love them while the other person is actively daydreaming about hurting the person they supposedly love! Then the first person sighs wistfully and says, 'Oh, how I wish someone would love me how you love her!' It's ridiculous and crazy, and oh so psychologically disturbing but it's so funny....I bet you are right Adriana and the actors were laughing like crazy between takes!
Thank you first off to novelera for the funny, snarky, too much Yaren for our own good, recap. I always enjoyed each of your many, many Hercai recaps. Thank you!
I was totally good with the FF of the sappier ReyMir scenes, dondi356. All your Miran “indestructible bangs” references made me laugh. The highlight of the episode was Nasuh and Ayse. He really, really loves her. I hope I do get to recap their wedding.
The Yellow Centipede got what she deserved and it looks like Umut will survive and not be kidnapped again. Seems like we are heading to a gran final with a happy ending and with the family gathered at one picnic table, as Reyyan once dreamed about. Yay! I get the two-hour episode to recap. 😊
Dondi,I collect quotes in journals, and I liked your quote from Rumi.
It reminded me of something I just heard in " Love bird " ...
"The heart belongs to the one that the eyes always go to. "... so true.
" You're just too good to be true. Can't take my eyes off of you."..The Letter men
Thanks a million for this well-written recap, dondi. You always make me smile. And thank you so much for your terrific recaps all the way through. You are a fount of knowledge of Turkish customs, and I appreciate everything you write.
I'd bet the farm that little girl ends up with ReyMir.
Miran was, as always, periodically annoying. He has the oddest smile. It doesn't look sincere, quite forced. And I don't know how Rey stands all his annoying, look what a great husband I am behavior.
Also, though I suspect the little girl he wants will be the sad, withdrawn one, I was annoyed with his pressure about wanting a girl. I had the impression that having been poisoned by Fusun had some sort of chronic issue with pregnancy. He wants a girl, so she should go through the horror story again?
I really loved Nasuh's proposal. These two are the real pros in the cast. As much as Viewerville hated Nasuh when he was bullying Reyyan at the beginning, he's come full circle to being big Teddy Bear grandpa. Looks like I'm getting my wish for complete redemption for Azize/Ayse and that she'll be part of a loving family.
Novelera , yes, it looks like Nasuh and his Ayse will be reunited after all these years and all the vengeance that hurt so many people.
" Grow o!d along with me. The best is yet to be. The last of life for which the first was made. " (Robert Browning)
The original villain is Nasuh's wicked mother who told N that A had perished in the fire and told A that baby Hazar had died and N had found another woman.
Thanks for the kind comments everyone. And a Happy Mother’s Day to all.
We get a quote from great poets/philosophers before the start of every Turkish episode that relates to what is happening. Unfortunately, we don’t see them on Telemundo.
ITA, Juanita, we do not need a return of the Yellow Centipede. But I’m doubting that we will see other favorites return. I know that little Gul (and probably Bahar) disappeared due to the pandemic. And like you, I’m wondering why the parents of baby Umut are allowing him to be passed around like a hot potato. I dreaded all those scenes with ReyMir. They give me a sugar hangover.
novelera, I’m with you at the betting window. That girl will end up with ReyMir. ITA, with everything you said about Miran. He is selfish and arrogant and will be forever annoying to me. I also feel the same as you about Nasuh and Azize, those actors are the standouts in this dizi. I wonder if we will see them go through the traditional engagement and wedding customs. That would be fun to see.
I’ve resigned myself to the rehabilitation of Azize. Although, I still have a hard time calling her Ayse.
Susanlynn, thanks for reminding us about the original big baddie, Mama Gul. She set decades of suffering in motion and as far as we know she never paid a price.
There’s a two-hour finale on Monday!
Hasta la Plata nos Separe starts on Tuesday, May 10 (tomorrow).
Who are going to be the recappers for this one?
I'll probably watch the Gran Estreño on Wednesday (timezone difference) and I offer to recap 1 episode per week (but not the Gran Estreño, if possible, I'm still scared of recapping anything that starts with "Gran" lol) after the first week (this one).
If I do end up recapping Hasta la Plata nos Separe though, I'll only be able to recap once a week for Pasión instead of two. When Pasión ends, I'll be able to recap twice a week for Hasta la Plata nos Separe.
To sum it up, because I confused things up:
Current situation: I'm recapping twice a week for Pasión.
When Plata (I'm bored of typing the whole thing) starts (tomorrow): I am going to recap once a week for Pasión and once a week for Plata, starting from 16/5.
When Pasión ends: I will recap twice a week for Plata.
P.S.: Does anyone know the tag for Hasta la Plata nos Separe? For Pasión de Gavilanes 2, it's Pasion. I'm just tired of typing the whole title xD
Or whatever the tag ends up being.
I don't think I will be watching this. It looks fun but I am going to California next week and I will be spending several weeks with my mother who is ill, and the rest of my family. No one in my family speaks Spanish or watches novelas so I will be finding less time to watch myself. I will continue watching and recapping Pasion except for next week when I will be traveling, but I won't take on recapping another show until I am back at home. I want to devote as much time as possible to my mother and family while I am there.
First of all, thank you, Juanita, for telling us the tag!
Darcy, I hope your mother gets better soon! I'm sorry to hear that she's ill. I hope she has a quick recovery. It's a shame that you won't be recapping this one. I'll miss your excellent recaps.
I choose the worst day to post my previous post. Not many people are active on Mondays. I'll re-post it to the new Telemundo page tomorrow.
Dondi.......AWESOME RECAP...EPIC..RECAP.. AND thank thank you for ending it in great detail..cause I didnt watch...!!!!!love loved it!!!!!
shukrun..Mas-Allah/ so-be-it!!
