Half of Mexico City must know what's going on at Campo amor by now. But not the ever clueless Tyler. And whyever did they have him fall in love with the woman he believes to be his sister, and so soon? If Tyler is not as clueless as he seems to be, I have seen no sign of it.

Andrea is being one naughty girl enticing Gonzalo like that, and then shutting him down. She's having her revenge, finally, after 20 years. Naughty, naughty, but fun to watch except I feel for Helena. Meanwhile Megan and Helena do a despondent refrain, in harmony.
Naughty, manipulating Andrea is also managing René.
A lot of suggestive stuff in this novela for the 8PM time slot   :-)

Who knew Sebastián was a brawler?   :-)

I would not even try to recap this novela. It's not so much about developments, it's all the interplay of the characters, strung together by the story, and giving each brief scene its due would not be easy or quick.

Andy: I tried to get interested in this Telenovela, but lost interest very quickly after the first few episodes due to the stupidity of the storyline.

Tyler is so incompetent & dumb, he has no idea they're scamming his EXPLETIVE.

Mexicana. Thanks for the mini-recap, Andy. I must say I liked the way Sebastian stood up for the gay couple and mopped the floor with nasty Rene. I also feel sorry for Helena. So now are we going to have several episodes of Katya, Veriily, Brandon, Diego, Andrea and Tyler on the beach at Acapulco? Ho hum. And we still have way more than 100 episodes left.

1999 (?): Gerardo rode after V.Jr who told him just to kill him and get it over with. They traded accusations about wasting their inheritances, which escalated into Gerardo saying that V.Jr was the shame of the family.

Vicente was singing “Volver, volver” to a very full and enthusiastic audience.

2021, Guadalajara: Refugio sat by Don Vicente's bedside imploring him to return to her and stay. She was in tears V.Jr, Alejandro, and Alejandra were outside looking in. Gerardo was talking to the doctor, ordering him to maintain secrecy about his father's condition. The doctor told him that the press was telling lies. He said that the spinal injury was serious. He was treating Don Vicente as he would a member of his own family and would keep him informed.

Alejandro and Alex talked about Don Vicente; Alejandro told Alex they had to have faith. Alex thought about postponing his wedding. They talked about singing together. They recalled singing “Esos Celos” with Vicente in concert. All three wore black and gold. Vicente was clearly moved.

V.Jr talked to the doctor who told him that he father had awakened. He and his colleagues were trying to confirm their suspicions about a cerebral hemorrhage. He thought back to a past dinner table conversation about their inheritance. Vicente wanted to put his affairs in order. V.Jr said something that provoked Gerardo, and Alejandra considered this inappropriate. Vicente appointed Gerardo as administrator and Alejandro became angry, saying that there were past occasions where Gerardo didn't have their interests in mind. He walked out. Alejandro was angry enough to tell Gerardo “Without our parents you are nothing!” This ended with an argument between Gerardo and their father, who told him off. Vicente later told Refugio that that he was worried about what this could become after his death.

2021: Don Vicente begged Refugio for forgiveness for the past. She forgave him. He looked back to a work departure when they first lived on the ranch. He recalled poorer times, when they had met as children and later when they became engaged.

He told Gerardo he was changing his will and leaving everything to Refugio. Either or both thought about the time Vicente announced his retirement. Gerardo did not like the decision, saying that this was “too much for her to take on.” Don Vicente told him that she was the most deserving. There was a crowd outside. Don Vicente told Gerardo to go to them and “tell them how much I love them.” Gerardo went to the balcony and addressed them to express Don Vicente's appreciation. He reminded them they were in a hospital and patients need silence. He told them his father loved them and to continue to pray for him. He really looked like he was choking on his words. Don Vicente was alone in his hospital room, looking very sad.

Part 2 of 2

2011 (?): Vicente's children tried talking him out of retiring because “you still have songs to sing,” but he said he needed to. His voice was not as strong and his energy level diminishing. He wanted to retire with dignity. Refugio took his hand and told him she would stand by this decision as she had others.

2013, Guadalajara: Gerardo and Alejandro addressed the press about their father's farewell performance in Estadio Azteca. When they looked it over they decided it was very worthy of their father. Alejandro thought back to a concert he had done with Vicente.

2021: Don Vicente and Dalia talked in his hospital room. She considered him a hero tin the eyes of all Mexicans. He would always live in their hearts. She apologized if she had ever offended him. He then had a seizure and she called for the doctor. She later went to the waiting room. Refugio and her children went into his room. Dalia collapsed in a waiting room chair and cried while Alejandro bluffed his way past the press to get into the hospital.

2013: Refugio told Gerardo she was getting worried about the concert. She was afraid that this would be too much for Vicente. Gerardo reminded her that he had loved his career and his music but he loved his family above all. Also, that behind the idol is a great woman and that this concert was his father's gift to his fans. There would be more than 10,000 people at the concert. He was sure it would go well. Even Gerardo shed a few tears here.

1973, Mexico City: José Alfredo Jimenez spoke on the phone from his own hospital bed, wishing him luck on his upcoming film and his best encouragement. He died not long thereafter.

At some later time, Vicente and his family visited his mother's grave on La Dis de los Muertos. Many people carried lit candles. As he got to the grave Vicente had a vision of himself as a child singing “Llorona” while standing in front of his mother.

2021: Dalia appeared before the press talking about Don Vicente.

2013, Concert Day: The crowd went loco waiting for his entrance. All three versions of him walked toward the entrance to the arena, dressed to perform. The concert was not shown' we only hear his voice.

2021: While the funeral took place crowds throughout the town placed flowers, candles, and plush animals in front of posters showing Vicente in his prime as we hear “Volver, volver”.

2021, Ranch: Vicente was buried on his ranch. Refugio spoke of him before her family, telling them it was their duty to honor his memory.

Afterlife?: The final image of Vicente showed him in his prime. He wore western clothes in beige suede and rode a beautiful white horse to a spot familiar to him in youth. He dismounted and walked over to the ruins. Paula waited there for him. They embraced. He knelt at her feet, looking as though he would cry.

Closing Remarks

Part 1: General

I have not read the book this is based on nor do I know how much of the contents can be trusted. Televisa – and probably the entire entertainment industry in Mexico – seems to control a fair amount of existing information about their stars. It's likely that they also invent some others. This is all for the protection of reputations.... and bottom lines.

Since a Colombian network produced a bio-series about Vicente Fernandez that was authorized by his family it must have been expected that a Mexican network would do so; Televisa would be the natural choice. However, they purchased the television rights to Olga Wornat's book despite that it was not authorized by the Fernandez family. In view of the fact that Televisa had used Fernandez-voiced songs for many of their telenovelas one would think that they would sit on the rights at least until they could come to an agreement with Don Vicente's family as to what to do with the contents of the book which described many things that had been hidden from the public. They could have retained the rights and sat on them for at least several years. However, they had the perfect cast for it and they went into production almost immediately.

The first episode aired in Mexico on March 14, 2022 despite a last-minute effort on his family to stop it. It catered to a public appetite for violence and scandal, past and present. However, there was a sharp drop from 8 million viewers to 2.9 million by episode 6. The second season had already been announced. One journalist inferred that Mexican viewers were not pleased with what they were being told about Don Vicente. The Wikipedia page has an estimated average of 2 million viewers per episode vs the half million I heard on a report on YouTube.


Part 2: Nobody's Perfect

Inside every idol is a flawed human being, like anyone else. Vicente Fernandez was born poor, had little formal education, and was burdened with adult responsibility earlier than he should have been. He was less sophisticated socially than one expects for someone who got as far as he did. While he was not a substance abuser he could not resist the temptation of women.

While his manner of dealing with pain and loss was to work harder I have to wonder whether his dalliances with women weren't also a distraction from the same pain.

Did he truly love Refugio? I think so but there was still a void in his heart, possibly due to the death of his mother. She died of cancer at 47; he was only 23, already married, and not yet on his way to fame. Refugio was 18 on their wedding day, so her concern about Alejandro and America marrying too young is very understandable. I can imagine she felt truly upset when Alejandro and America were divorced.


Part 3: Production

There were too many scenes with outdoor, traffic, or other noise in which it was difficult to decipher dialogue details. If I have to mention this more than twice it's too much.

Part 4: Hair / Makeup / Clothes

Perfect. Someone did their homework on the different styles of each decade. If there was any prosthetic makeup on anyone I couldn't detect it. The black charro suit and white sombrero worn by Emilio Osorio in the wedding scene was right off one of Alejandro's early CD covers.


Part 5: Actors

All the actors portraying the Fernandez men were excellent. Pablo Montero lived up to expectation as the obvious choice to play Don Vicente in his performing prime, staying within the upper 2/3rds of his vocal range and using Vicente's general style. Emilio Osorio did a good job as the young Alejandro and the teen Alejandro Jr. However, Vince Miranda's singing was short of Alejandro's real voice both in pitch and depth.

The actors portraying Felipe and Federico were also engaging and believable.

Sara Corrales looked nothing like the real Patricia Rivera, about whom I know nothing. Taking Vicente to the opera (although the choice of title had an obvious ulterior motive) does not jive with the slut we saw on the screen. I guess that this was more in keeping with manipulating her way into the relationship, later to invade a space she should not have entered.

All three actresses who shared the role of the adullt Refugio were excellent, showing us a woman who gave and gave of herself and – from my perspective – got much less back. I have speculated before on whether she could have done anything to improve the situation and finally came to a conclusion:


Part 6: Machismo Stuff

Vicente's sense of machismo was not entirely about entitlement, but about his father's failure to properly support his family. It was expected that a man earn enough money by himself to support his family and his father (as represented here) failed miserably at this. This is why Vicente never wanted Refugio to work and was no criticism of her, although it must have felt that way to her. He never wanted Refugio to suffer as his mother had. They should have talked more about this.

Gerardo got on my last nerve and I think that a lot of his toxic behavior was about envy of his brothers. Whether it's true or not this series strongly implies that he had something to do with V.Jr's kidnapping.


Part 7: Personal Experience

I have attended multiple concerts by all three: Vicente, Alejandro, and Pablo. All three had the charisma we have seen in this series. Their concerts have sold out within hours in New York City. Until he retired from touring Don Vicente maintained his promise to keep singing as long as we kept applauding and he was performing well past midnight. I couldn't stay past 1AM because of longer waits for the subway.

I never got to meet Don Chente, but Alejandro and Pablo are both very charming. No surprise. Also, what you see is what you get.
 

UA: I enjoyed watching all of the episodes. My personal thoughts:

1.) I agree with you on the possibility of Gerardo having something to do with Vicente Jr's kidnapping.

2.) All three of the actresses portraying Refugio did a good job especially Iliana Fox & Jade Fraser.

3.) I'm assuming Ana Tena was the one, who portrayed Vicente's daughter Alejandra ?

4.) Whatever happened to Patricia Rivera ?

5.) I strongly agree with you on the consensus that Vicente's weakness was WOMEN. While I strongly believe he was faithful to Refugio, the temptation of multiple women was too much...

6.) Jesus More did a good job portraying Gerardo. But for the life of me, I cannot shake BPN off of my mind (his portrayal of the corrupt, murderous Mexican President in "ESDLC").

7.) Alejandra Ambrosi did a good job portraying Vicente's mother.

Steve, seeing that this is really a comedy, the story line actually makes some sense... maybe. Every episode there are more and more people who think they know what's going on at that finca, which eventually will do I know not what, but there are all sorts of possibilities. And so far Andrea has not fleeced Tyler of anything and he is having a great time.

SpanProf, I was never fond of René but I had no idea he was so bigoted, and would go so far as to make a public display of it.

"And we still have way more than 100 episodes left." Yeah, I find that both encouraging and discouraging. I love this novela so far but I don't know if they can continue what I feel is truly fine comedic work. Andrea and her facial expressions delight me no end, as does her manipulation of just about everybody.
If "Mexicana" really bombs at some point I will strap on my Caray parachute and bail out.

One thing I have learned, sorta, in watching telenovelas is that if you genuinely like a novela you should stick with it and enjoy it, even if everybody else is abandoning ship.

Conversely, if the novela doesn't appeal, there's no good reason to stick with it, even if others are doing so. Some like chocolate, some like vanilla, some like garlic   :-)

Urban, you brought each episode to life with vivid imagery and clarity.

What a marvelous job you did. I'm sure having seen Vincente (and sons) in concert several times greatly contributed to your enjoyment of this.

From the little I saw, Pablo Montero was a powerhouse. Gripping in his intensity. A tailored made part for his considerable talent.

As some of this seemed very dark, I can understand the decline in viewership. Enjoyed all of your comments and observations.

I hope that anyone/everyone who did watch this and read Urban's comments can take a moment to thank her for her excellent recaps.

This was a spectacular show – masterful acting, fabulous production values and gorgeous photography. And oh, the music! One of the best I’ve ever seen.

I saw Pablo Montero in a telenovela (I don’t remember which one) a long time ago and thought he was very wooden, that it looked like acting wasn’t his thing. I’ve seen him in others more recently – a big improvement! In this one he absolutely hit it out of the park. He was brilliant.

As were the other actors. What a treat all this was. That Llorona scene was so beautiful and moving that I didn’t delete my recording of the episode – I want to watch that bit again.

I have a question, though. In the little preview scene they used for the ads beforehand, Vicente seems to be telling his wife he was one more thing to confess. I never saw that scene. Did I misunderstand?

That was Ana Tena as Alejandra.

According to her Wikipedia page, Patricia Rivera went on to do novelas including the 1988 version of Pasion y Poder. Her last film appearance was in 2008. She is still alive.

Unfortunately, the US broadcast of this series is missing 3 episodes' worth of material. I'm not sure what it all is but I think a lot of it came from the early episodes shown in Mexico which had more about Vicente Jr's kidnapping. It was violent, ugly, and made it very obvious why Vicente Jr hardly ever sang in public after his return. Which was actually 121 days after he was taken. Don Vicente and Alejandro should have become honorary KBEs for the stiff upper lips they maintained during that time.

The whole family needed therapy.

If you ever have a chance to go to concerts of Pablo, Alejandro, or Alex's, do. These guys have enough charisma for a hundred men. Once I saw Alejandro's video of "Tantita Pena" I said that if sex appeal were a weapon he would be declared nuclear.

Part 1 of 3

In San Jacinto, little Lucia Arizmendi's mother has just died. Her father (Jacobo) took her into the house and began giving her pottery lessons. We see that over a period of years she becomes talented at it. She becomes a beautiful young woman and Jacobo stopped to admire her work. He coughed and she reminded him to take care of his health. Alfredo Morales – Lucia's novio – arrived to take her out. Jacobo seemed to have a bad vibe about him, telling her she is only to be out for a little while. He went upstairs to bed. They kissed.

In Veracruz Fernando Ortega finished a presentation for his company. A colleague – Diego – mentioned a client to discuss in a few minutes, then scolded his older sister, Paulina, for wearing a dress he considered to be “too transparent” and unsuitable for the occasion. She protested that he was acting like he was her boss.

Lucia showed Alfredo a long-unused building, saying it would make a good talavera. He talked about getting married. She told him she'd like to but provided a list of things that had to happen first, starting with her father's health. He seemed to agree. Unseen by Lucia, an older man got out of his car and stared at them. As they kissed the man approached them. He knew Lucia by name and commented on how she was more beautiful than ever. Alfredo addressed him as Heriberto. She excused herself and left. When she was out of earshot Heriberto said “What a shame that a beautiful woman like her loves a failure like you.” Apparently Alfredo owed him money.

During all this Paulina and Roxana schemed while Diego and Fernando began talking business.

It looked like a lot of others owed money to the wrong people. When Lucia arrived in the open market she discovered that multiple businesses were being shut down. She challenged the cop trying to do this and he ordered everyone else to leave.

Fernando went to meet a shipment of electronic items but said that this was more boxes than he had been expecting. He was told that this was the correct number. Fernando said he needed to inspect them.

Jacobo and Isaura (his new wife) talked about Lucia and Alfredo. Jacobo was suspicious and said he would never allow anyone to hurt Lucia.

The client tried to hand a large dufflebag of cash to Fernando, who turned it down. He was running a legal business and wanted no trouble. As he and Diego walked out he asked him “What were you thinking?” Diego apologized.

Pedro – the cop from three scenelets ago – got chewed out by Juventino for failing to evict all those tenants, most of which were women. He called him pathetic. Gertrudis entered, complaining that the police car was at the entrance of her place. Pedro apologized and left. Gertrudis got on Juventino's case, not wanting “any of your people in my house.” He told her it was her fault for renting to Lucia Arizmendi. She derisively referred to Lucia as an idealist, but everyone has his price.

Turns out she is Herberto's wife. He heard this conversation. And he had once been her chauffeur [Snobs are such hypocrites, aren't they?] She told Juventino he had better get rid of Lucia or she will.

Isaura picked up a cheap version of Jacobo's meds and left him to meet a friend. At the gambling place owned by Heriberto. She owed him a lot of money. She took some out but it was not enough. Alfredo entered. Heriberto took Isaura's money, gave her a chip, and went into the office, following Alfredo, who asked if there is anything that could make him forgive the loan. Heriberto told him he had something of great value that he wanted: Lucia. Alfredo was initially shocked but Heriberto reminded him who his brother-in-law was and he wasn't open to negotiation.

Gertudis went to see Lucia with her nose in the air, accusing her of causing trouble. Lucia's response was that the police were abusing their authority. The artisans were only selling their work and were not in anyone's way. Gertrudis would not be moved and told her that as of the end of the month she was not going to renew her lease. Lucia naïvely said that she and her father put everything into this and Gertrudis replied that she had other plans for the property. Lucia then correctly assumed that this was because she stood up for the artisans but would be willing to negotiate if Lucia would persuade the others to leave. She did not tell her father when he left the shop.

Fernando was getting his freak on with Roxana, then told her he had to go into town for a business dinner. They spoke of having great sex but it doesn't feel like it's a real relationship. Gratuitous shirtless view as he exited the room.

Isaura won a decent stack of chips but Heriberto confiscated it as payment for her debts. He told her she could have open credit in exchange for her house.

Marta got on Carlos' case about money. She would not shut up and he finally pushed her out the door.

Lucia arrived home to a a fake-looking but probably expensive bouquet and a decorated box that contained a note and some rose petals. She read the note; it was obviously from Alfredo. Jacobo looked at it, saying that while Lucia may love him, he doesn't love her back. He told her to keep ger eyes open. He told her he loved her and went to bed.

She undressed and prepared for bed without knowing that there was a spy camera in or on the pretty box. It was activated when she turned on her laptop.

Marta is also Fernando's mother; she went to his place for dinner that night. As he opened the wine and told her he had made a lucrative deal she went on about the usual things mothers of 30-somethings do: finding a spouse and giving her grandchildren.

While everyone else was at a artisans' award presentation Marta went home to find her daughter reading Fangoria magazine and sulking a bit. Marta gave her the same song and dance about her relationship, which she took with less grace than her brother had.

Gertrudis was to present the first prize. At that moment someone was fingering the photos of Lucia on his cell phone. Gertrudis read out Lucia's name, Lucia hugged her father, and then went to accept the trophy and make a speech. She said that this also belonged to her father for having been at her side and having faith in her. She also thanked Juventino for his help for their commercial space and said they would all vote for him in the upcoming election. He stood up, looking gracious, but put his head together with Gertrudis' and Heriberto's,

Later Gertrudis talked about how that was horrible as she brushed her hair and Pedro entered her room with his shirt open. They embraced and fell onto the bed.

Alfredo arrived at Lucia's house and she was angry that he not only hadn't been at the ceremony but didn't even send a message. He apologized, suggesting that they elope to Mexico City or the US. She said no and wondered where this was coming from. After some time he managed to kiss her and get her in a better mood.

It looks like he also pulled this on Marta's daughter.

The criminal who couldn't get Fernando to agree to a deal put pressure on Carlos, who looked nervous.

Alfredo met with Heriberto, who had received the photos of Lucia. He now expected to get the product and not just the ad.

Lucia told her father that Alfredo had apologized to her about his absence the night before. He would not talk about Alfredo but about how proud he was of her. After the exchange of another set of “te amos” he began coughing again. [We all know what this portends, don't we?]

Alfredo called Lucia to tell her that the hotel he was doing business with wanted its decoration to all be talavera. Heriberto smirked at him when he ended the call.

Fernando was visiting Marta when she was presented with an eviction notice for non-payment of the mortgage. Her expression was that of shame but she didn't have a good explanation. He told her he would take care of it.

Isaura was putting things away into a trunk when she found an old photo of a woman named Alejandra with a note on the back. She demanded that Jacobo tell her who that was and who she had been to him.

Lucia went to the meeting place Alfredo gave her and was ambushed by Heriberto. He creeped her out with comments about the photos she didn't know existed and that she was not meant to sell things in shops. She was meant for a much better life of luxury and that he intended to give her that. She tried to get away but he moved to block her path, saying this is the best deal she could make. She called him garbage and saying this was the grossest thing she had ever heard and tried to get away. He grabbed her arms and forced her back against the table and on her back. He had her pinned until he ripped open her dress. He had to free her hands to do it and there was a block on the table near her right hand. She grabbed it, slugged him with it, and ran for it. He yelled “go after her” and an accomplice ran out the same door. He was bleeding from the forehead.

Fernando was driving through the area and talking on his cell phone. Lucia had escaped the buiding and ran out onto the road right in front of the car. He stopped just in time. There were two men chasing her by then. He ducked with her on the other side, finally opening the door, pulling her inside, and taking off. There was a lot of smoke and road dust in his wake, so nobody could see the plate number of his car. They gave up for the moment and Heriberto looked insane.

Fernando introduced himself and said he would take care of her.
 

Embajador S3 #35 part 1

A doctor examines Mavi, who is still unconscious. He says there may be internal bleeding and orders a scan. Sedat is frantic, he asks why she’s not awake yet. Will she live? Why doesn’t she respond? A cop and a nurse push him out of the room. He struggles against them and continues to shout and threaten the doctor to save Mavi.

Sancar is brought to the station. He asks a cop for information on Mavi and Kavruk. The cop answers, if we know anything, we will inform you. That’s not good enough for Sancar, he wants to see his lawyer and asks to call him. The cops says he can’t give Sancar special treatment and he should have thought about this before committing a crime.

Sancar is growing anxious. Don’t you hear me? I’m only asking for information. Go call my lawyer, please. The cop locks him in a holding area. Sancar starts shouting, I’m not asking for anything else. Call my lawyer now! This is unjust, I know I have a right to a call!

Zehra cries at the hospital. Halise clicks her tongue at her daughter, that’s enough, you’re hurting my ears. Leave me alone, Zehra sobs. Halise asks, what’s wrong with you? It’s not necessary you suffer like this. Don’t cry. We can’t do anything but wait. [Turkish] Even if something happens, it is the will of Allah. What is left for us? Zehra scowls at her mother, if something happens to Kavruk, you and I will settle accounts. But for now, be quiet.

What are you recriminating me for, Halise asks. Okay, I’ll tell you, Zehra replies. You only think of yourself. You don’t care about your daughter’s happiness. If you were interested just a little, Kavruk and I would be married. What? How dare you speak to me this way, Halise scolds, I’m your mother, respect me! Everything I did was for your happiness. But no one is satisfied. Neither you nor your brother. Yahya asks Halise to leave Zehra alone. You can talk later. Don’t you see how upset my sister is?

Elvan shows up at the hospital with Bora. She rushes to comfort weeping Zehra. Yahya stares at Bora. Elvan asks, how is Kavruk? Zehra just shakes her head and continues to cry. Halise is staring down Bora now, too.

Geçmiş olsun, Elvan says to Halise. Bora adds his get well wishes, too. He gets dirty looks from Halise and Yahya. Yahya explains that Kavruk is in a risky surgery. He’s lost a lot of blood. Halise asks Yahya, who is that man? I guess that’s Elvan’s friend, Yahya replies. What kind of friend, that he comes here, Halise asks? I don’t know, Yahya says, we’ll see. Halise looks pleased that Yahya is bothered by Bora’s presence.

Sedat is holding Mavi’s hand. He quietly asks her to wake up. He kisses her hand. Do you hear me? She stirs. It’s all blurry for her. Sedat says, my love? Mavi whispers, Sancar? She opens her eyes and sees a displeased Sedat. She pulls her hand away. Sancar isn’t here, Sedat tells her, the police took him. I’ll be with you.

Are you happy with what you did, Sedat asks? You almost killed us both. But we were lucky. I know life wants us together. Do you know what I went through being here, he asks her, do you know how scared I was? The doctors barely saved you. Thank goodness, there was no hemorrhage. But you have a concussion so you will stay here a couple of days out of precaution.

Mavi calls out, does anyone hear me? She tries to get up, anyone, help me! Help me! Take this man away! She calls for Faruk and Kavruk. Anyone? Help me! There’s no one, Sedat says, I’m sorry. [Turkish] One misfortune calls for another. What was that guy’s name? Omer Kavruk? He was shot. He’s in surgery. Mavi is shocked, she tries to get up.

 

Embajador S3 #35 part 2

Sedat grabs her. Don’t disobey. Don’t try to stand up. I spoke to the doctor. I’m going to transfer you to Istanbul as soon as possible. I’ll get a medical helicopter and we will go. I’ll bring you to a better place where you will be treated as you should.
I’ll never go with you, Mavi replies. You have to, he answers. Sancar is in prison now. His fate is in my hands. You’re coming with me. I changed that fate, Mavi tells him.

What are you saying, he asks? Ah, Sedat laughs and he takes Mavi’s phone out of his pocket. You’re talking about the recording you made. Mavi reaches for the phone and Sedat drops it on the floor. You thought I wouldn’t realize, he says. He smashes the phone. I’m sorry, your phone broke in the accident. Luckily, you’re okay. I’ll buy you a new one.

Sancar paces in the cell. Faruk comes to see him. How are Kavruk and Mavi? I contacted the hospital, Faruk tells him. Kavruk is in surgery. Unfortunately, it’s very serious. Mavi Hanım is alright. Kavruk will recover, Sancar hopes, I know he can’t be hurt by a simple bullet. Faruk has good news for Sancar. It’s the recording that Mavi made. She sent it to me before the accident, he tells Sancar.

He confessed he stabbed himself, Sancar asks? Not exactly, Faruk replies, but with this, it will be enough to free you. I’m preparing an accusation he deliberately mislead justice. He will be forced to confirm what he said in the recording. Faruk plays it for Sancar. When can you get me out of here, Sancar asks? He looks angry. Have patience, Faruk says.

You think that you have won, Mavi, Sedat asks. She laughs. If I don’t want to live, he says, then neither will you. Not you, not Sancar. You can’t get rid of me and this is just the beginning. He storms out.

Sedat leaves the hospital and Guven is waiting with his van. Geçmiş olsun, Guven says, you shouldn’t leave the hospital, as I asked you. I know, you’re right, Sedat replies, I thought I would give Mavi another chance but… she doesn’t deserve it. Worst of all, Sancar will remain free. Mavi recorded me. Allah kahretsin, Guven says under his breath. Sedat is angry and says, she played me. It was only a trick. From now on, I won’t have kindness or mercy. They will both suffer.

Guven tells Sedat that it was Nihat who shot Kavruk. Sedat says he heard them talking about it inside the hospital. They don’t know if he will make it. Guven plans to send Nihat abroad for a while. Sedat says they need to come up with a new plan. Guven stops Sedat from leaving. He wants to clarify something. If we don’t trust each other, we can’t continue with this collaboration. You don’t have to worry, Sedat replies, not anymore. From now on, I won’t have any compassion. I won’t stop until I destroy them. Just what Guven wants to hear.

Bora and Yahya run into each other in the lobby. I’m taking the tea and water, Bora tells him, let me pass. Yahya takes the tray from Bora and thanks him. You brought Elvan too, thank you, Yayha says, but it’s better if you go now. Why should I, Bora asks.
This is a problem we must face as a united family, Yahya replies, your presence here is too much. Bora says, your friend is fighting for his life today. Don’t you have something better to worry about? I don’t understand your problem. Listen well, Yahya tells him, we don’t know who you are or what you do. You suddenly appeared. If you think Elvan is alone, I’m sorry to tell you you’re wrong.

Bora answers back, how good that you are frank. I like that you speak clearly. But for your information, it’s obvious who I am. I do not hide anything I do, never. I don’t like that, unlike you. And finally, neither my ego nor yours is important. Only Elvan and her feelings matter. Understand? You ruined half of her life. Now let her be happy. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Bora takes the tray back from Yayha saying, I do this every day. Let’s not damage your manhood. [Yahya is pissed! good for you, Bora!]

Bora delivers the tea and water, which Elvan gratefully accepts. Zehra politely turns it down. Bora offers to Halise who turns up her nose and her hand at him. Elvan asks him if he knows Mavi’s status. He says she’s been checked and transferred to a room. When the surgery is over, Elvan asks him, do you want to come with me to see her? He does.
Yahya returns and Halise asks him to stay there while she goes to the rest room. Yahya stares at Bora. It’s uncomfortable.

Mavi reaches for her smashed phone on the floor. There’s a knock at her door, it’s haughty Halise, ready to spew some poison. Çok geçmiş olsun, Mavi, she says. Mavi thanks her and asks about Kavruk. Is the operation over? Halise smirks and doesn’t answer. And Melek, Mavi asks? Melek is at home, Halise replies, we didn’t bring her. She’s playing with Gulsiye and doesn’t know what happened. Mavi thinks that’s for the best.

If she found out what happened, she would be very sad, Halise says. The woman she accepted as her new mother was with her ex-husband. Mavi tells Halise to get out of her room. Even though you married my son in secret, Halise replies, you are not my DIL. And you will never be the mother of my granddaughter. Sancar might have chosen you, but I don’t accept you. And that will never happen. Mavi tells Halise to get out.

Back to the Kavruk vigil. The doctor comes out. Omer Bey survived the surgery. [yay!] There’s joy and relief. Halise returns and asks will he survive? We did the best we could, the doctor replies, but his wound was very critical. He lost a lot of blood. These 24 hours are most important. Unfortunately, there is still a danger he could die. You should prepare yourselves for any possibility. Geçmiş olsun. The doctor leaves.

This is devastating for Zehra, she falters, and Elvan and Yahya help her to a seat. No, no, he can’t leave me. Kavruk can’t die! Elvan worries that Zehra will make herself sick. Kavruk is dying, Zehra cries. They try to calm her. What am I going to do without my Kavruk, she sobs. Halise looks disgusted by this. [she’s disgusting]

Sancar is questioned by a cop. Faruk is present. Cop asks, if you weren’t guilty, why did you flee? I didn’t, Sancar answers. Faruk takes over. Due to a misunderstanding, my client was waiting for Sedat Bey to wake up. He thought when that happened, Sedat would tell the truth that would prove his innocence.

The cop says they are still studying the videos from the scene. The voice recording you sent us is not sufficient to prove your innocence. And the decision of the DA depends on Sedat’s statement. Where is this man now, Sancar asks? You saw him in the hospital, he was fine. Why didn’t he come?

Speak of the devil and he shall appear. There is a knock at the door and Sedat is brought in. Sancar gives him a death stare. Sedat apologizes to Sancar for making him wait. These incidents have tired me. But I’m fine, don’t worry. [lol… Sancar’s smirk]

 

Embajador S3 #35 part 4

Sedat addresses the cop, I’m afraid this was a misunderstanding. That’s why I came to explain. Sancar Bey did not intend to stab me, kill me or harm me. [he’d probably like to do it now, though] The knife was mine, Sedat says, and if you ask why I carry one with me, the answer is simple. In this town each tree has fruit. And I cut them. The day of the fight with Sancar I was scared and took out the knife, but unfortunately, I ended up stabbing myself. I had to clarify the situation. Sancar Bey is not guilty. It was my fault. Sedat apologizes to Sancar.

Faruk says, you heard it commander. Sedat stated that Sancar is not guilty. I request the immediate release of my client. The cop says we will hear the DA and do what he tells us.

As they walk out, Faruk tells Sancar that the search continues for the man who shot Kavruk. He’s been identified. That’s not enough, Sancar says, [Turkish] if necessary, all Mugla will stand up and find him before the police. I want to interrogate him before the police do it. Faruk starts to object. Don’t worry, Sancar says I won’t hurt him. I’m just going to turn him in to the police. Sedat and Guven must be judged by the law for being instigators. Faruk says, if we find the perpetrator, we can link the connection.

As they round a corner in the building, Sedat is standing there. Faruk cautions, don’t fall for it, he only wants to provoke. Sancar gives him the death stare, Sedat smiles back and waves. He’ll get what he wants, Sancar tells Faruk. Don’t do it, Faruk warns. Sancar approaches Sedat. What did I tell you? Didn’t I tell you if I saw you near Mavi again, I would kill you? Sedat replies, Mavi was my wife before yours and she will be after you.

Faruk tries to call Sancar off. Not gonna happen. Sancar threatens Sedat. I’m going to kill you, he growls, I swear I will kill you. Don’t provoke me. Here, Sedat asks? Go ahead. I want to see you beat me until you get tired. Don’t stop. Faruk pleads, he’s doing this on purpose. This is what he wants. He’s trying to provoke you. He’s got nothing to lose. Think of your family. Think of Melek. Don’t do it. We will meet again, Sancar tells Sedat and he marches away. Sedat is pleased.

Mavi’s doctor visits. She’s feeling much better. She wants to leave. The doctor won’t release her. She had a bad concussion, and he wants to keep her for observation. Mavi says she will assume the risks and sign anything that’s needed. She makes her case. My husband has been detained and is alone. His best friend is fighting for his life. My daughter is alone. How can I stay here when so many people need me? I can’t be calm, please let me leave. The doctor won’t budge on this. He goes.

Sancar arrives at the hospital. He goes to the front desk and asks for info on Mavi. He’s relieved when he finds out she’s okay. He asks about Kavruk. The receptionist says he’s in the ICU. Sancar rushes away then turns back, Mavi Efeoglu’s room? 106.

Kavruk vigil. They cut Halise scolding Yayha for not throwing Bora out of the hospital. She’s worried about their honor. Yahya tells her to be quiet. He’s not going to start an argument there. Elvan tells Bora to go, he must be tired. He replies, I’m fine, even if I’m tired.

Halise tells Zehra it’s late, let’s go. And she stares down Elvan and Bora. No one moves. Sancar shows up. Halise is overjoyed to see him and they hug. Sancar gives Zehra a hug next. He’s in intensive care, she tells her brother, we are waiting. It will be okay, Sancar replies, Kavruk is strong. He will stay with us. He will stay. Sancar thanks everyone for staying there and not leaving Kavruk alone.

We were here from the moment we found out, Halise says. Don’t worry, he will come out of this. Sancar asks Yahya to take Halise home, and he will stay with Zehra.

 

Embajador S3 #35 part 5

Mavi speaks with Melek over the phone. I’m fine, I promise. If you say so, I believe you, Melek replies, but I want you to make me another promise. A mother daughter promise. I never want to be away from you again. You must come back or if you prefer, take me with you. Let me be by your side. I only want that. Mavi promises. Mother’s promise. They love each other.

Bora comes to visit Mavi. She’s happy to see him. He tells her she looks fine and shouldn’t even be in the hospital. Mavi complains they won’t let her leave. Can you talk to my doctor, she asks. I tried to talk to him but he didn’t understand. Sancar is detained. He’s alone and I want to go to him. Bora says he’s not detained, he’s here at the ICU. Mavi is surprised.

Kavruk vigil. A doctor comes and says, I would love to give you good news but the situation is critical. If you wish, someone can go in and see him. Only for a moment, of course. Zehra, you have to go, Sancar says. She thinks it’s better if Sancar goes. Sancar knows it is important for her to go. Elvan asks if both of them can go. The doctor okays it but only for 5 minutes.

Planning session at Guven’s. Maybe we can ruin Sancar’s businesses, he proposes. I’ve got the money and power to do that and more. We could take the marina. Or better yet, we can burn down the olive grove. He adores those trees. That would be very sad for him. Whatever we do, Sedat replies, has to affect Mavi as well. They have to be destroyed so they can never be together again. You’re right, Guven says, but Sancar is on the alert and he won’t let his guard down against us.

We need someone on the inside, Sedat says, his brother, what’s his name, Yahya? You said he was a rotten egg. Guven doesn’t think that will work. Right now the brothers are united. Guven has an idea. How about the girl Yahya left at the wedding table, Dudu? Then he remembers the Efeoglu family wants nothing to do with her. We need someone in the heart of the family, Sedat says. Guven says they are a traditional family, they are old fashioned. It’s impossible.

Sedat thinks the fact that Mavi is now in that home changes the situation. Mavi is a dominant person. Surely someone there will disagree with having her in the family.
Yahya and Halise arrive home. She asks Gulsiye to prepare tea and asks for Melek. Melek greets her grandmother and brings her in the living room.

Dudu is still there. She’s sorry for what happened and sorry for what happened to Kavruk. She hopes he gets better. Dudu explains that Gulsiye asked her to come and that’s why she’s there. Halise has no problem with it and tells her she’s welcome in their house. Yahya doesn’t look to happy.

Melek asks her uncle to look at the farm she made with Dudu. Good work, he says. Dudu smiles at Yahya but he does not return the smile. Halise asks Dudu to dinner. She’s happy to accept. Yahya turns and walks away.

Zehra and Sancar visit Kavruk. I couldn’t stop that man, Sancar tells his sister. Forgive me, please. I know how valuable Kavruk is for you, she replies, don’t ask for forgiveness. Zehra sits on the bed. Kavruk, don’t leave me all alone. Please don’t leave me. Don’t go. Teary Sancar tells Kavruk, we’re here to support you. You just have to open your eyes. Don’t mess this up. Kavruk’s monitor starts beeping. Sancar is alarmed. The nurse says maybe he can hear you.

 

Embajador S3 #35 part 6

I’m here with you, Kavruk, Zehra says, I love you so much. You can’t imagine how much. Sancar says, listen, Kavruk, when you wake, I will make your wedding, I promise. I will give you my sister, Zehra. My bride couldn’t arrive to my wedding on horseback, but… yours will come. We will dance the zeybek all night, Kavruk. [Turkish] Let me not be the Efe if I don’t keep my word. Let everyone be witnesses. Come on, Kavruk.

Kavruk flatlines. The nurse asks them to leave the room and calls the doctor for the emergency. Sancar takes Zehra out of the room. They watch from the window as the medical team does CPR. [Crap. This is the same lousy hospital that killed Gediz.]

Zehra starts to freak out. Sancar tells her not to lose hope. I don’t want him to die, she cries. Don’t leave me! Hug me tight, Sancar tells her, we have to be strong. Kavruk won’t leave us, you’ll see. Come on Kavruk, fight. He’s dying, Zehra wails.

And we are out.

Dear Dondi, thank you so much for another detailed account of every frustrating detail. Yikes . Kavruk and Mavi both in the hospital , but evil, crazy Sedat walked away from the accident just fine and no less evil crazy. Meanwhile ,Halise gets worse and worse .

That interaction at the hospital between Ya and Bora was tense . I certainly hope that the writers will reward Elvan with a man who appreciates and loves her as Bora seems to do . However, they are really pushing Ya turning over a new leaf as he rejects Du and starts to stand up to his mommy.

Through it all, Mavi is unsmi!ing but stoic and beautiful. Those scenes between her and San ...where are we headed here?. If you have a loyal, loving soul mate , you can face anything together . I know that for sure.

Come on , Kavruk, you can't leave us . You are the voice of reason and loyalty . The writers have given You a wonderful storyline this season . You can't leave Efe San when he needs you .

I somehow managed to miss the episode where Kavruk got shot and Mavi went with Sedat in the car. Boy, am I glad I did.

At least Mavi did send a recording to let Sancar know what she was doing, but still, "Boo! Don't play Sedat's game!"

It's sad to see Melek never having other kids to play with. All the talk about her being strong, which she is, is too much to expect of the kid. I guess the closest thing to another kid is Dudu.

Dudu seems genuine, but it's dumb for her to have Halise on her side. Elvan's nothing like Dudu but she was motivated to marry Yahya to have Halise as a MIL. Surely Yahya considers that when he sees Dudu so chummy with Halise.

I got a kick out of Yahya staring down Bora, welcome comic relief. Bora, in his laid-back clothes, is quite a culture clash with Yahya's designer duds, and taking of guff from Ya.

Sancar and Zehra watch, wait and cry at the ICU window. The medical team saves Kavruk!
Dinner with Dudu is done and Halise asks Gulsiye to take Melek up to her bedroom, then asks her, where is Yahya? Gulsiye replies, he said he wasn’t hungry. At that moment, Yahya comes through the door and heads for the stairs without a word. Halise calls him, join us, please, there’s something I want to talk about. Uncomfortable glances all around. Halise signals for Gulsiye to take Melek. Yahya heads for the table.

I’m listening, Yahya tells Halise. What happened between you two, Halise asks? Please don’t get involved, Yahya replies. Okay, I won’t interfere, Halise says, but you kicked the girl out of the house without notifying me. [Turkish] I don’t ask you for much. You gave the girl your word. You have walked this path together. Is it like an Efeoglu to turn away from a person who has made a mistake?

Nobody turned away, Yahya answers, you’re mistaken. I bought a house, the house where she lives. What more do you want? Halise looks at Dudu. I’m not willing to accept that, Halise Anne, Dudu says. [notice she still refers to her as “mother”] I don’t want that house. I moved in with Ela. I’ll stay there. Yahya can do whatever he wants with the house. I’m not interested in money.

But it’s not appropriate for you to be separated, Halise says. It will be appropriate for me to find a job, Dudu replies, we could be happy, but I haven’t been able to find one. No one will hire me. No one will accept me because of my relationship with Yahya. They won’t give me work. They are afraid when they hear your name.

Sancar goes up to Mavi’s room. He stops at the door and watches her lying listlessly in the bed. It looks like he’s in conflict with his emotions, so he turns from the door. Mavi spots him and calls out. He has to go in. Geçmiş olsun, Mavi, he says, iyi misin (are you okay)? Geçmiş olsun, Mavi returns to Sancar, I hope Kavruk recovers very soon. Inshallah. Did the police finish with you, she asks. It’s over, Sancar replies. Sancar doesn’t know what else to say.

I don’t like this silence, Mavi tells him, it makes me uncomfortable. Can we talk? A nurse comes in to take out Mavi’s IV. Sancar asks if he has to leave. No. But he looks like he wants to find a way out of this pending conversation.

Bora and Elvan are still at the hospital. She tells Bora they sedated Zehra and they took her to a room. I went out to take a walk to feel better, she says, I never liked hospitals, the smell upsets me. Elvan makes a sour face. Bora asks, don’t you think we should go? Zehra doesn’t need us, her brother is here and Mavi is, too. No way, Elvan replies, I can’t go and leave her alone. What will happen if she needs my help? We came and helped them, Bora says, you think you can do more than you already did? It’s late we should go to sleep.

I need them, Bora, don’t you understand, Elvan says. They have been my family in good times and bad. They are all I have. As you wish, he says, I’m going to sleep. If you’re not coming, I’ll have to sleep alone tonight. See you later. Don’t judge me for this, Elvan asks, we’ll talk later. I agree with everything you told me, but please understand. I want to be alone tonight. He tells her it’s okay, you can make your own decisions and I’m not angry. He kisses her cheek. Try to rest he says.

The nurse leaves Mavi’s room and it’s very quiet in there. Sancar doesn’t even look at Mavi. She breaks the silence, [Turkish] I know you want to scold me and you are right. He looks at her but says nothing. Come on, don’t keep it to yourself, she says. You’ll ask, “why did you go to Sedat?” It’s because I couldn’t think of a better idea at that moment. I had to make a decision fast and alone, she tells him. I know you are mad at me. I would be mad at you if you did the same.

Sancar jumps from his seat. Okay, you crushed my ego. Despite that, I understand why you did it. I know you did it to save me. But please understand, if he was just an ordinary man, I would accept it. But how could you do this? I don’t understand how you could get in his car. Besides trying to save me, you put your life in danger. I had no choice, Mavi replies.

How did you have no other choice, Sancar asks? Couldn’t you realize I would prefer to go to prison before you would leave with that man. You got in his car! If not for the accident, you would be in Istanbul. You were thinking just to leave me a message? You were with that bastard! Perfect, Mavi says, from what I see, this conversation isn’t going anywhere. If you want, we can talk when you are calm, because now you are upset.

I can’t even stand him looking at you, Sancar says, my heart crumbles. I lose my head if he touches your hair. I hate it when he is near you. I am jealous, Mavi, understand! I am very jealous! Consider me wild or ignorant, whatever, but I can’t help it, my blood boils. I don’t want another man looking at my wife’s eyes, especially him. And his intentions are evident. What happened in the car? Did he touch you? Did he do something to you? I lose my mind when I think about it! Answer me!

Mavi shouts back, I almost died in that car! And you are thinking about another man touching me or doing something?! Are you serious?! That stops Sancar in his tracks. Mavi continues, I can’t believe it! Like you said, you are ignorant.

Zehra and Elvan are at the ICU window. Zehra tells her she should go. I’m sure you’re thinking of him. I know you. No way, Elvan replies, if I go, then I will be thinking of you. Don’t worry about me.

Elvan gets a call from Yahya. I called you because Zehra wasn’t answering. Is there news? I hope I didn’t bother you. No bother, she replies, Zehra is here with me. Kavruk is the same. Is there anything you need, he asks? I could come. No, Elvan says, Sancar and Mavi are here. Elvan suddenly looks sick and puts her hand on her stomach. If you need anything, call whenever, Yahya tells her. End call.

Zehra notices that Elvan is not feeling well. She tells Zehra she’s okay, it’s just the smell of the hospital is making her nauseous. Zehra suggests she go out for fresh air. Elvan says no, but she starts to heave. She decides to go out.

Yahya calls a guy named Adem. He mentions the new café in town, Third Wave, or something like that. The owner of the place is from Istanbul, Yahya says, his name is Bora. Find out everything you can about him. I need to know everything.

Dudu comes outside as Yahya is heading in. Is there any way you can forgive me, she asks? I would regret it if I didn’t ask. He just stares at her. Look, if there is any possibility… Dudu says, your mother supports us. Please don’t turn your back on me. He steps to go and she moves closer to him, putting her hand on his face. She moves in for a kiss and he backs away. He makes a quick getaway.

 

Embajador S3 #36 part 3

Sancar gets up and sits on Mavi’s bed. We have to talk, he says, you can’t understand my point of view if we don’t talk. We’re not going to understand each other at this moment, she replies. Talking won’t do any good. Why do you always want to be right after a fight, he asks. Not so, Mavi says but he says otherwise. It is, he insists, that’s why you have that attitude, like you don’t care. We don’t have to fool each other.

Mavi tells Sancar to go home, she wants to sleep. I am not leaving, he says, I am going to stay. Sleep. She sits up and says, you don’t have to stay with me. Better you go to Zehra and visit Kavruk. [that hurt] He agrees and goes to the door, but he stops and comes back. Mavi, that’s enough, I don’t want that we fight. We both went through some difficult things. For that reason, I need you and you need me. Forget what happened. You won’t be able to sleep without me and get well, he smiles.

She’s unmoved. Go to Kavruk, please. I want to be alone tonight because I need to think. What do you need to think about, he replies. Let’s do it together. She explains, I have to think about why, if I was with a jealous man who caused me so much damage, now I have managed to be with one who is the same. Sancar is stunned. How can you say I am the same as Sedat, he asks? How could you put me in the same sentence?

That wasn’t my intention, she replies, I’m sorry. I know you are not the same. What happens is your jealousy frightens me a lot. Words cannot be erased, Sancar says, and so you know, you hurt me. He goes for the door again. This time Mavi calls his name. He stops for one second then goes.

Sancar meets with a group of men outside the hospital. [Turkish] One says, Kavruk bizim canımız (Kavruk is our dear/soul) Just tell us what needs to be done to take revenge and we will take everything in our hands. Sancar knows and thanks them. The coward who shot Kavruk fled, he says. We have to look for him. Search all the hotels and hostels, find this bastard.

Sancar continues, we know who gave the order. Guven Celebi together with Sedat. Let everyone you know, whoever works with him, those that help him, those that sell merchandise to him, we will not have business with them.

One man says, I worked at the marina because it was your business, but now I won’t go back there. Sancar thanks him and tells him to go to the hotel tomorrow and ask for work. From now, anyone who quits Guven, will have a job with us. Let everyone know. He tells the man who works at the marina to go there and explain why he’s quitting so Guven understands. From now on, we will make Guven’s life impossible. Sancar thanks everyone and sends them off.

Next morning and Zehra is still standing at the ICU window. Elvan sits nearby.
Sancar is sitting down the hallway. Mavi comes to him. She’s dressed in street clothes. Without a word, she sits next to him and rests her head on his shoulder. What I said before isn’t true, she tells him, I’m sorry, I was wrong. It’s impossible that you are like anyone else because you are the only one I love. Sancar apologizes, too. I couldn’t sleep all night, he says. [Turkish] I couldn’t control myself either. Look at what I blurted out when you were already having a hard time. I immediately knew I offended you and I was very angry with myself.

I understand, she says and puts her hand around his neck, I don’t want to wake up another morning without you. Me neither, he replies.

 

Embajador S3 #36 part 4

Elvan comes running up to tell Sancar the doctor is coming. Good news. Kavruk is much better. He woke up and everything is functioning as it should. [Turkish] Glory be to Allah, Sancar exclaims! Kavruk cheated death! Vay! My brother is a lion! Kardeşim! Sancar gives Zehra a big hug. Do you realize this is thanks to your great love? May Allah take these days away from us.

Two weeks later…

Sancar is standing at a grave. Mavi and Melek join him. It’s his father’s grave, Kerim Efeoğlu. He was 44 when he died. Sancar starts: [Turkish] Dad, a lot of time has passed. A thousand things have happened. But I haven’t been able to come and speak with you. I couldn’t pray for you, forgive me. I brought someone to you. Efe gelin. She’s merciful, beautiful. A bride with a kind heart. And she became the owner of my heart.

He tells Mavi, if my father knew you, he would love you very much. He was a good and peaceful man. All the people loved him. I have no doubt, Mavi says, and I would have had a father in my life. Sancar asks her if she knows anything about her father. Is he still alive? I know some things about him, she replies, because I looked. But I couldn’t get more information because I wasn’t registered as his daughter. After I lost Ekim, I looked so much. But the only thing I know is…. he’s still alive. Sancar asks, what’s his name? Harun Altiner. Melek brings back some flowers for her grandfather. She places them on the grave. Sancar prays the Al-Fatiha. Looks like Mavi prayed, too.

Halise meets Guven and Sedat in the middle of nowhere. He thanks her for agreeing to meet and coming to this place. [Turkish] You’re wrong she tells him, I came here to find out what you want from my children. Sedat says, your son has provoked us. Many of Guven Bey’s employees have quit. We had to bring people from Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir. You can imagine the cost. We lost a lot of money and we are angry.

Halise says so what. They didn’t want to work for Sancar’s enemy. It’s not my business. It could be, Sedat replies. We heard Sancar has offered employment to anyone who left our company. He’s capable of destroying the family business to annoy us. He did this to upset Guven and do damage. You see? You have to help us.

Guven says, we never have been able to get along, but there is Melek, our granddaughter. Mavi did all she could to form a bond with her from the first day they met. I can’t see my granddaughter. And I know you can’t either. Mavi, Melek and Sancar live in another house. It’s not like that, Halise responds, I’m afraid you have bad information. Melek wants to be closer to her school, that’s all. But they will return to the mansion and never leave again.

So everything is okay, Guven asks, you have no problem with your DIL? Halise frowns. Listen, Guven says, she’s a dangerous woman. She stole Melek from my house. She wasn’t even married to Sancar then. Who knows what else she’s capable of? Your family is at risk. Sancar has lost control since this woman arrived in his life. You could help us get rid of this woman. Sedat would get his wife back and go.

Halise scoffs, I see you’ve lost your minds. [Turkish] I won’t even give you my hello. Don’t look for me anymore. She gets up to leave. Sedat says, no one would show up to this place in this weather just to scold us. You wanted to hear our proposal. You did. We understand you need time to consider it. Take as much time as you want, Guven adds, I’m sure you will realize that getting rid of Mavi is the best for everyone.

Gulsiye gives Necdet his orders. Don’t forget a single thing on this list. I have much to do and I need everything to come here. Hurry, go. Don’t worry, he replies, I’ll bring what you say. This will be like training for me. Gulsiye orders, get out, Necdet!

 

Embajador S3 #36 part 5

Halise walks into the kitchen. What are you doing? What are you preparing? Gulsiye and Necdet are afraid to answer. Zehra replies, Kavruk is getting home from the hospital today. [yay!] My brother said we would have a wedding today. Don’t talk nonsense, Halise responds, you can’t have a wedding in a day. For your information, my brothers have everything ready, Zehra says.

Call them, Halise orders. Tell them to come here immediately. Zehra picks up her phone, then slams it down on the table and walks out of the kitchen. Halise’s mouth gapes.

Sancar and Mavi arrive at an outdoor restaurant. Necdet calls Sancar. We see that Halise is making him call. Necdet tells Sancar he has to come to the mansion now. Now? Sancar asks. Yes, Necdet replies, you haven’t come in two weeks. Halise Efe is upset. You have to come! You’re saying that my freedom is over, Sancar asks, and I have to come back now? Tell whoever ordered you that I am with Mavi. We will go when we want, okay? Hang up! Now! Necdet worries, he’s going to hit me. If he doesn’t, I will, Halise replies.

Are you hungry, Sancar asks Mavi. Do you know how many times a day you ask me, she replies. Yes, he tells her, and I’m going to ask until I die, are you hungry, if anything is wrong, if you’re in a bad mood, if you love me. Because now you are my life, my work. You are my everything, Mavi Efeoglu. And you are for me, she responds. I’m very hungry, she says. Sancar asks Ali to set the table well.

Halise sits with Zehra. You must think clearly, keep calm. Please don’t do this. [Turkish] I know you felt inferior since that damned accident. But you are an Efeoglu. You’re an Efeoglu. Because of a small flaw, you shouldn’t force yourself to marry just anyone! This is not what I raised you for! I didn’t send you to school for this.

Mother, you have never understood me, Zehra replies. I never felt defective. I don’t care about our last name. I just want to be happy with my life. I am with someone who loves me. I’m not thinking about your or what others think. Kavruk’s love is sincere. Ah, you really think you can be happy with Kavruk, Halise asks?

At this moment Kavruk arrives with Yahya but the ladies don’t notice them. Kavruk hears Halise, you’ve got your head in the clouds now. You can’t see the reality of things. Why? Because now love is blind. But when love ends, you will come to your senses. You will realize that your husband isn’t more than a servant who hardly has enough to eat. Your love and marriage will be put to the test. We will see if you are still in love.

Zehra shouts, mother!! And the ladies turn to see Kavruk standing there. Kavruk walks away. Zehra tells Halise, you don’t know how I abhor you. She leaves the room, calling for Kavruk.

Zehra follows Kavruk out to the yard. Kavruk! Wait! I don’t care what my mother says. You know how much I love you. I don’t want my mother’s opinion or anyone else’s. This is our relationship. I don’t care who approves. And I don’t care either, Zehra, Kavruk replies, but your mother is right about one thing. You know me well. I want to give you a good life. You know I will work day and night to give it all to you. But perhaps I’ll never be able to give you this type of luxury.

Zehra shakes her head and hugs Kavruk. Don’t ever say anything like that again. If all we have is each other, we will be the most fortunate in the world. And the luxury will be being together. Don’t you think? They hug.

Kavruk says, Zehra, the flower of my eyes. I was very scared that I would die and not be with you again. She shushes him. Don’t worry, no one will go. I love you, Kavruk tells Zehra.

And we are out.

So...Kavruk survived (yay!! How could the writers separate Kav from his Efe!...and sweet Zerha )... and two weeks have passed . Time flies .

How in the world could the writers make Halise so twisted that she would team up with horrible Guven and crazycreepy Sedat who hates Her son ? I had a sweet MIL . Mavi got the MIL from hell.

I have a feeling that investigating mystery man Bora, who lives in a van at the beach , will reveal that this guy is very rich and just wanted to escape the corporate rat race. Just a feeling ...but I am usually wrong in my predictions.

I just realized that the writers didn't give Mavi a female rival for San's affections . They don't even refer to Nare anymore . I guess that is why the drama for San's heart and loyalty is coming from his jealous mother . Hey, San is not the mama's boy Ya has always been.

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 1/8

Fernando is driving his car and Lucía is still in it. Lucía is crying and Fernando assures her that he'll take care of her.

Alfredo and a girl (is that Fernando's sister? Also, I think this is the same one who played Fernanda in La Doña 2?) are kissing in Alfredo's car when Heriberto calls him. Alfredo gets out to answer and Heriberto tells him "Me engañas" and something else that I didn't catch. The girl asks him what happened and he says that it's "work stuff". He gets back in.

Lucía calls someone but they don't answer and they stop at a lake(?) (because Lucía kind of freaked out) with goats on its other side. Lucía gets off the car, crying and clutching her dress. Fernando gets off as well and gives her his jacket. He asks her what happened, why were those guys following her? She tells him that they tried to rape her and Fernando asks for their names. Lucía just wants to go home. Fernando agrees to drive her home.

Isaura gives Jacobo his pills and asks him about the woman in the photo again. She says that if he doesn't tell her she'll tell Lucía what kind of a father she has. Jacobo gets mad and says to Isaura that she won't tell Lucía anything and she should just forget this story! Isaura was not expecting that. (The fact that she is one that should be mad but he's the one that is though...)

Rafael hired Carlos for some sort of work. He wants to know the trucks' routes or something like that. Subtitles gliched and didn't help at all.

Jacobo is still angry and tells Isaura that Alejandra's name shouldn't be mentioned in this home. Isaura thinks that Jacobo is seeing this Alejandra woman and asks him if he has kids with her. Jacobo tells her that the only thing she should know about Alejandra is that Lucía must never talk to her or even be close to her. (As someone who hasn't watched Amarte es mi Pecado, I'm wondering where this is going... I have thought of something but I want more evidence to express it...)

Jacobo asks Isaura to swear that she won't tell Lucía anything and she agrees and is scared that he'll have a heart attack or something. He tells her to not search in the truck again and that there's nothing worthwhile in there. He leaves, going to the workshop. Isaura finds some documents and remembers her conversation with Heriberto about her debts and that he asked her how much does Jacobo's house cost.
 

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 2/8

A driver takes Gertrudis to Marta's house. He rang the door bell and Marta came out. Gertrudis demands to see the house and tells Marta that she's the new owner!

Some guy called Néstor comes in Paulina's office and she asks him if he's ready for tonight to which he responds no (xD). Paulina asks him why and that he can't let her down today. He finally says ok, in the same place, at the same time. He leaves. Some seconds later, Paulina asks somebody called María to inform her when she has the routes of the trucks, I'm guessing the same trucks that Rafael and Charlie were talking about.

Gertrudis enters Marta's house and looks at it like it's some sort of disgusting cockroach. Marta says that Gertrudis' husband took advantage of her need. Gertrudis tells Marta that there's no way she'll find the money to pay the mortgage and leaves. Marta calls Fernando, I assume, but he's not picking it up because he's with Lucía.

Lucía and Fernando stop at Lucía's neighborhood. She says that she doesn't want this to happen to anyone else and Fer (I'm tired of typing his whole name) wants to take her to a hospital. Lucía says that Heriberto thinks he has bought the whole town because he has a lot of money and power, but it's not going to be like this anymore. She wants him to take her to the cops.

Carlos manages to get in the company and to check the truck routes. He calls Heriberto and tells him that he'll send the data to him. He closes the phone and plugs a USB stick into the computer. Paulina gets into her office and asks him what he's doing there and he says he went to see "the most beautiful girl" or something like that (ugh). He also brought flowers. Before she went in, he was writing the truck routes and he pretended to have written them to give them to her. He leaves.

Lucía went to the cops and is telling them what happened. The cop who is writing her lawsuit either has the memory of a goldfish or is a complete idiot. Fernando gets angry and tells the cop to be more professional and that he was a witness too. Can't you see that she's going through a difficult situation? That idiot cop asks "if it's so difficult, then what are you doing here?" HOW MUCH IQ DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE TO UNDERSTAND? I swear, even inanimate objects have more IQ than this idiot.
 

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 3/8

Lucía says that she doesn't want anyone else to go through the same thing as she did. The cop asks the name of the "alleged" aggressor and when Lucía says his name, he has an "oh crap, we're screwed" kind of face. He asks for proof and Fer says that he's a witness. The brainless cop asks if he was there when Heriberto attacked Lucía and Fer says about the armed guys. The cop says that since they don't have proof, the lawsuit goes poof. It's obvious that the cop wants to cover Heriberto. Lucía asks if they want women to get raped so that they have their damn proof, but the cop is like "I'm just telling you the law, no judge will be in your favor", which, by the way, is irrelevant to the fact that he has to make the lawsuit. He also mentions that she should have been imprisoned anyway for the artisans(!!!) Again, IRRELEVANT to the the event! (Is he Pedro? I didn't watch the first episode and I'm still learning who's who.)

Lucía asks him how much they paid him for his conscience and she'll see what justice has done (she said "se haga", so I assume that's translated to "has done"?) She then leaves. Fernando throws a paper at the cop and leaves as well.

Fer tells Lucía he wants to help her. She says that he has already done enough and she thanks him for that. His phone rings and it's his mom. He tells Lucía to wait and picks it up. He says he's coming there (I assume at his mom's house) and when he closes the phone, Lucía is many meters away. They look at each other. A lady comes and gives Fer his jacket back, saying that someone (Lucía) asked her to do that. They wave at each other as she leaves.

Alfredo went to Heriberto's house and Heri (again, tired of writing his full name) says "see what your girlfriend did to me?" (No comments.) Heri thinks that Alfredo was the one to sent "someone" (Fer) to get Lucía out of there, but of course, this requires some level of humanity, so it's obviously not Alfredo. Heri doesn't believe him and says that it's going to cost him. Alfredo quickly says that they'll find a way to bring Lucía back. Heri tells him that he has to bring her back, because the only other way to get out of this whole thing is with a shot. Gertrudis comes down the stairs and Heri finds a bullcrap story about how he hit himself and who Alfredo is. Alfredo leaves. A random man walks in Heri's house and says that Lucía said that he tried to abuse her! (Now THAT'S what I call speed!)
 

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 4/8

Gertrudis asks Heri what did he do and he of course says that Lucía is lying. Gert doesn't really care, she says that they have to solve it before it affects the business. Heri tells the other guy that he knows what to do. (Comment #1: Her first thought was "what did you do", honestly, it's a red flag if your spouse has done things that make you believe something like this for them.
Comment #2: No comments, again, which kind of contradicts the whole thing I just wrote, but anyway...)

Fer came home and Paulina was there (What is she doing there?) There's also a doctor that says her pressure got pretty high and she should take these medications. When the doctor leaves, Marta explains what happened to Paulina and Fer.

Alfredo goes to Lucía's to find her and says he got her message, what happened? She asks him why he wasn't there and he found some sort of excuse, which I assume was bad, so bad that my subtitles refused to translate it. (Nevermind, it actually showed it now and yes, it was that bad. "A tire blew", I'm cringing.) Lucía tells him what happened, including the police station thing. He pretends to be confused and Lucía goes to leave. Alfredo catches her and she asks him again why wasn't he there like he was supposed to. She's crying. They hug. Just then a cop comes and says that Lucía is ARRESTED for trespassing on private property and for causing injuries to Heriberto! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE? Alfredo pretends to be on her side, tells the cops that she's the victim e.t.c. For some odd reason, they arrest/hold BOTH of them. I QUIT.

The girl we saw on Alfredo's car at the start IS indeed Marta's daughter and Fer's sister. She went to Marta's to see her. Carlos is with her. Marta tells her daughter to do something and she leaves. She explains to Carlos, what happened. Carlos says that he'll pay the debt and Marta asks him when, because he keeps saying that and nothing happens. Carlos is also Marta's son [so his siblings are Michell (thanks Google for the name) and Fer]. They have a conversation about money and Carlos not being the perfect son. Marta says that she'll tell Fer that it was him the one who kept the money from the house just as Fer gets in. He heard. They start fighting, Michelle arrives and stops them while they're still screaming at each other and Marta looks like she's about to faint. Michelle notices this and sits next to her.
 

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 5/8

Heri says that Lucía attacked him because she found out about the hotel construction and the artisans thing to Gertrudis. She doesn't believe him and says that everybody knows that she's using her brother's money and power to "conquer" many girls (ew). Their relationship screams DIVORCE NOW PLEASE. Heri asks her "then why don't you tell everyone" and Gert doesn't say anything. Heri gets a message that says "Lucía is already in prison". Apparently, the one who sent the message is Gert's brother. He informs Gert and she feels satisfied with that. She tells him to take his clothes because he won't sleep in her bed anymore.

Alfredo is still at Lucía's (so the cops just held him, didn't arrest him) and Jacobo sees him. Alfredo is holding a small camera, but Jacobo sees this and grabs it. He realises that he's putting cameras in Lucía's room! He asks him why and Alfredo says that it's nothing bad and that Lucía asked him to do it, to promote the talavera! Jacobo obviously doesn't believe this and wants him far away from Lucía's life. A woman enters (who's that?) and says that they have arrested Lucía. Alfredo leaves.

Isaura is at Heri's gambling club and is playing again. Heri comes in and Isaura gives him the papers she found earlier, about Jacobo's house!!!

Meanwhile, Jacobo is at the police station and asks why they're holding Lucía. A bald cop says what we already know. Jacobo tells the cop that Lucía wouldn't hurt anyone and the cop suggests to find a good lawyer because Heri is powerful. He doesn't let Jacobo see her today and goes to leave, but Jacobo insists and says that he'll bring all the artisans if they don't let him see her.

They finally allow him to see Lucía. A cop even unlocks the cell door for Jacobo to get in and they hug. Lucía tells him that she's innocent, but Jacobo already knows that; he wants to know why Heri is so vicious against her. She finds it difficult to tell him and Jacobo promises to get her out of there. Lucía says that he should get better first (he's coughing a lot) but he says that he can't let her in there and he will force them to drop the charges, he doesn't care if Heri is the owner of half the town. She thanks him and just as Jacobo is about to tell her something very important, the cop says that visit time is over.

Lucía and Jacobo both say "I love you" while the cop is continuously screaming "get out!" Lucía keeps repeating "don't go", but Jacobo has to leave.

Fer wants to see Heri and he says that he'll go there on the phone. Diego gets in and asks him why is exposing himself for Lucía? Did you know that Heri's a relative of the presidente municipal? Yep, Fer does, but he doesn't want any woman to go through difficult times. Diego mentions Fer's mom's house but Fer still insists (also, he said that he's going to talk to Jacinto about the house). Fer tells Paulina that he's leaving and something about his mom's house and kisses her on the cheek. Diego is looking at them. Fer leaves.

Isaura is losing and Pedro comes and tells her his lucky number as a "gift for a beautiful lady" (ugh). They introduce each other and Pedro continues using these awful lines such as "it's for the good company" (UGH). Anyway, Isaura gives him chips to play on his lucky number and Pedro says what will happen if he wins and what if he doesn't, but my subtitles gliched a bit. I think he said "If I win, we're going to get something [to drink, I assume] and if I lose, I'll come back to see you."

Paulina and Néstor did go out. Apparently, whatever is happening is a secret, because Néstor doesn't want Diego to know. Néstor says that he's going to do it, but only once and Paulina says something about driving on the highway. They both get into the gigantic truck behind them.

Isaura and Pedro win and they hug. Pedro also kisses her(!!!) She pulls away and finds some sort of excuse, that they'll celebrate later or something like that. They play again, double the money.

Carlos has arranged something about the truck. He has many men who get in their cars.

Lucía wants to make a call and a man starts coming towards her. At first she thinks it's a cop, but it's actually Heriberto! Lucía screams for help, but Heri's cuñado is in charge of the prison, so it's not looking that good! Heri says that he won't do anything here because he's a gentleman (bruh). But, he says he can still have sex with her whenever he feels like and shows her the keys to her cell. He proceeds to open it. Lucía screams for help again and Heri says it won't happen here, but she should stop saying that he abused her because he'll become her and her family's worst fear. He creepily approaches her and kisses her on her cheek. He leaves. Poor Lucía is holding her clothes again.
 

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 7/8

The thing Paulina wanted was to drive the truck. Néstor tells her to be careful, its nighttime after all. He also tells her that he's going back to university. She congratulates him and says that driving trucks is what she really wants to do.

Meanwhile, Carlos and his gang have put on balaclavas or whatever you call them and hold guns. Paulina and Pedro see them and stop the truck. Carlos and his gang point their guns towards the truck.

Alfredo went to the police station to see Lucía but the bald cop from earlier says that Lucía can't have more than one visits a day and her father already visited her (but when Heri wanted to see her, there wasn't a problem, of course...) Alfredo asks how much does he want to let him in and the cop just tells him to go away. When Alfredo leaves, Fer gets in with a lawyer.

Jacobo goes to see Heri and tells him that he knew he was a coward, but he didn't know he would get so low. Heri tries to sell him his fake story, but Jacobo doesn't believe him and Heri mentions the thing that Lucía didn't tell her father last episode. Jacobo is surprised and Heri shows him the envelope with the papers that Isaura gave him and that Isaura lost in it the casino. Heri also tells him that Alfredo betrayed Lucía and shows him the pictures from the hidden camera!

They start screaming at each other and Jacobo tells him to delete the pictures and that he will never get their house. Heri says that if he gives him his house, Lucía will get out. Jacobo doesn't believe him and Heri calls his cuñado and tells him to let Lucía out if Jacobo signs. He does sign a piece of paper and Heri says that he'll fill out the rest. Heri tells his cuñado to free her. Heri tells Jacobo to take care of Lucía and her stepmom and Jacobo goes to punch him, but changes his mind and leaves. The moment Jacobo leaves, Heri tells his cuñado to keep Lucía in prison!

Alfredo is at the police station and gets a call from Michelle. He picks up and tells her that he'll come there. When he leaves, we see Fer (who's with his lawyer) that wants to talk about Lucía's case and learns that she's in prison.
 

Mujer de Nadie, Capítulo 2, Miércoles, June 29, 2022 - Parte 8/8

Jacobo goes to his house. Isaura asks him if Lucía is in prison and Jacobo starts screaming at her for giving Heri the papers. She refuses and says that these are lies. Jacobo tells her that he had to give his house to save Lucía and almost has a heart attack. Isaura says that she never gave him the heart medicine and that everything is Lucía's fault! JACOBO DIES ALREADY! Isaura is shocked and starts crying.

Fer visits Lucía in her cell and they hug.

And we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Oh, Susanlynn, I was so relieved when Kavruk recovered. Too often a beloved character bites the dust in a dizi.

The Unholy Three? We will see if Halise joins the group. Guven and Sedat have already formed an uneasy alliance with their own agendas, each thinking they can control the other. Halise is just as twisted. She could fit right in.

About a female rival: been there, done that. It’s bad enough we have an Akin 2.0. Yes, Sancar is not a typical mama’s boy, but he forgives the crap she pulls time after time.

 

Mexicana. Oh my goodness! Now we not only have all those characters pretending to be other people but cases of mistaken identity--like Gonzalo believing it was Rene who told Helena about a possible affair between Gonzalo and Andrea rather than Luis. And btw, now we see that Rene is not only a thug but a crook in his attempt to blackmail Tyler. I suspect that somehow Tyler will not actually go back to the US at this point in the tn--What would they do with all those remaining episodes?

Wow, so many characters . It's going to take awhile to get the names down and sort out the good guys from the bad guys. Looks like a lot of awful villains in this one.

I like the galan who , so far, has hit the ground running as a hero .

In the previous seasons, Kavruk would have some snark for Halise, of course under his breath. Especially after his near-death, it's time for him to get over his humble beginnings. Hombre, get married. Just do it.

Gracias, Weirdo & Daisy. If you want Tuesdays and Wednesdays I will move to Thursdays because I now have commitments on Monday and Friday nights. This leaves Monday and Friday open.

I have to wonder what messages men get about women from some of these series. Heriberto acts as though Lucia is a sex robot rather than a human being. No wonder Gertrudis is cheating on him.

The cop "interviewing" Lucia was not Pedro; he is someone higher up on the police food chain.

It also looks like Pedro is flirting with Isaura while also boinking Gertrudis. I wonder whether he will add Alejandra to the mix?
