Here are a few things I thought were interesting in tonight's episode (which apparently is #24. How I saw 32 last week is a mystery. My DVR listed tonight's episode as #24, and I guess I'll try to use those numbers on my comments, even when, like tonight, they're not recaps).

Suhan's marriage to Cesur enrages Tahsin, and he's determined to fight back. We see the electricity in Cesur's house suddenly go out. We then see Tahsin on the phone acknowledging that the power has been cut in Cesur's house and asking whether the water has also been cut off. "Good work," he tells whoever he's talking to. He hangs up and then says to Cesur (who of course isn't present), "You won't take my daughter so easily."

There's an interesting scene involving Banu's father, Mihriban, Bulent, and a man I don't recognize. They're sitting at a table somewhere. Banu's father (addressed as Señor Cetin) tells the others that at first, Cesur attributed his mother's stories to her illness, but then he began to investigate. He found letters Rifat had written. Sra. Fugen fled to protect Cesur [none of this is clear at this point, at least not to me]. Then Rifat was fired (because of the letters he wrote?), and he decided to help Cesur. We learn that Cesur's father found out about Tahsin's involvement because there was an auction. Cesur's father saw the paintings that he thought had been lost in the fire. Mihriban tells the others that she has seen both the originals and the copies. She was engaged to Tahsin. He showed them to her and told her he was going to sell one and get lots of money, and he'd hang the other in their home. He then abandoned Mihriban at the altar and hung the other one in his home. Banu's father asks Mihriban whether she'd be willing to testify to all this in court. Bulent immediately says no, his mother must not get involved. It's too dangerous. People have died. However, Mihriban says she's not afraid of Tahsin, and she's willing to testify.

Cahide talks with Korhan about the will and claims Cesur knew all about this from the start. She suggests that perhaps even the wire that hurt Timida was Cesur's doing. Korhan then talks with Suhan about his doubts about Cesur. Suhan talks to Sirin about her doubts. So now, several people have turned against Cesur.

There's a lot more of interest in the episode. I hope what I've written here will get the ball rolling.

Amor Val

Ball is rolling for sure Juanita! Thank you! The doubts are at an all time high again, for Suhan. Her heart is telling her to trust her husband, she loves him——just like Korhan reiterated to Mean Daddy——but that head of hers won’t rest until she gets to the very bottom of her doubts. Sad, I do believe Cesur really loves her, so they should be getting to the bottom of this nonsense together….

Ok, so did I miss something between Banu and Bulent? Obviously, in her drunken stupor she turned to him, and obviously, again, the hideout caught Bulent’s attention. He’s the worst kind of snake, and looks like he’s going to intensify his pursuit of Banu. Suhan really felt bad for Banu, during Banu’s drunken and teary call, but she shouldn’t have to apologize or explain anything to Banu. She loves her husband, she just doesn’t trust him.

Much as I like Korhan, he’s such a puppet for Cahide. I was hoping someone would catch her putting on her fake belly, but of course, I should know better when it comes to this stuff. At least Korhan is investigating Huyla, and that can only be a good thing..

Mean daddy took it to a new level of PETTY! Turning off someone’s electricity and water! Low, even for him! Father from hell! It just kills me how all these crooks justify their actions, and turn everything around! Oh well, gaslighting is alive and well in Korludag!

Amor Val

Thanks Juanita and Carmella.

I am getting confused about all these houses. Is Ceasar's mother staying in his house and was Cesar sleeping in a bedroom in that house? Did he only imagine Suhan in bed or was that a flashback to a previous scene that happened in the show? Which house was Cesar painting ? Also, can Tahsin see Cesar's house and the house Cesar was painting from Tahsins house ? And...which house are Korhan and Cahude staying in?

I figured that Tahsin was responsible for the electricity being shut off.

What did Suhan say to Banu when she called boohooing about Suhan marrying Cesar?

amor-val

Thank you Juanita and carmella for the story line comments and getting us started today.

Susanlynn, like you, I was very confused about Suhan and Cesur. Did they sleep together after all? I was sure it was just Cesur’s imagination until Kemal told the gossip (his nosy nelly wife) that he saw Suhan coming out of the “guest house” where Cesur is staying. So apparently there was a noche de bodas.

Suhan told Boo hoo Banu that the marriage wasn’t what Banu thought, but Banu was having none of it and told Suhan that Cesur would end up breaking her heart.

It also appears that Banu and Bulent may have had a drunken tryst over their former lovers. At least Banu seemed to because she could not remember what happened the night before and Bulent was looking for something while they talked. The tunnel he found looked like the one where Cesur is keeping those paintings, but I might be wrong there.

I do think Tashin can see Cesur’s house from his. If you recall, the roads folk out in different directions from Tashin’s (now Suhan’s casa) and Cesur’s. In Friday’s epi, Tashin heard the wedding march being played when the novios arrived at their home, so it must be pretty close by.

Cesur’s mom is staying in his house and Suhan slept in Cesur’s room, for awhile it appears, before ending up at the guest house that Cesur spent the next day redecorating and repainting.

That jerk Tashin did have the power and water cut off. Kemal was able to keep the power running with a generator and there was a small reserve of water in a tank that is now empty.

Too bad Korhan is so easily manipulated by everyone. Cahide is a pot stirrer extraordinaire! Now she has Adalet all riled up about Cesur tossing them all out of the main house (I will call it that to keep all the houses straight) now that he is married to Suhan who immediately inherited that house when she married Cesur.

There was one key area I wanted to highlight from last night. The guy that they showed in jail reading the news paper turns out to be Adalet’s brother who has been in prison for 30 years and never wrote a letter or has taken a visit from anyone. Remember Mirihban tried to see him but Adalet make sure she was blocked? Well now he wrote a letter to Cesur and asked the guard to mail it. Maybe this is the witness everyone needs to hear from.

Thanks Juanita! The editing at times is a bit tricky but they love their flashbacks to fill in the backgrounders. I had missed the chatter about Hasan, Cesur's dad recognizing and thought stupidly it was Cesur who'd discovered the paintings at an auction. So thanks for clarifying. Ugh!

Camella: I think Surhan simply told her not to worry because the wedding was fake, but Banu wailed that all venganza/revenge attempts are now lost because Cesur lost his head and fell in love with Surhan.

Susanlynn, et al: So, further on, Cesur's by himself in his room looking at the wedding ring he bought but never gave Surhan. I got a bit confused myself as to whether the two really "done it." Next thing we see him daydreaming of how it might be to finally make love to her. But, then with the knock, Surhan comes in thinking (after the phone call from Banu?) that she may have made a mistake and should leave. He tells her she isn't going anywhere and they kiss and eventually make it "official."

Next thing it's morning and Kamal sees Cesur painting across the way. Sirin remarks something about Cesur not being sincere when planning the marriage cuz he knew about the will? Kemal says it was love after all and he was always sincere. Cesur and Surhan really are in love because he caught them kissing at the door to the guest house before Surhan left earlier this morning. That's a flashback. So I guessed that the dream scene was not a dream after all because she wakes up talking about needing to return to her own bed? He tells her his fabulous chest is her only bed now. I am not quite remembering in order or well perhaps. Seems that's the gist of it.

Korhan--Why did he only get the olive trees and Surhan got the manse? I suppose the orchard and olives/ olive oil bidnez is his... eventually?

Now Cahilde and Azaleta? are going to team and scheme together. Cahilde has told Aza that it was probably Cesur who plotted all along to put the barbed wire under Timide's saddle to worm his way in by rescuing her. I'd say that was some fabulous plotting and rescue work if that was the case. Cahilde wanted to kill Surhan to get the father's fortune all to herself. Hulya and she are sisters from another mother. I do see Bulant trying for Banu now, but hopefully, she will fall for Korhan after Cahilde eventually gets smashed from a flying anvil.

Did I misinterpret this and did you all see something different?

amor-val

Wow, many thanks, carmella, Susanlynn, VVS, and Jardinera, for your wonderful comments. And welcome, Jardinera! I'm delighted to see you here.

Carmella, I too was hoping that someone would catch Cahide putting on her fake belly. When Adalet reached over to her, I thought it might happen. But no, she didn't touch the belly. I guess it's too soon for this to be revealed. And yes, alas, "puppet" is a great word for describing Korhan's relationship with Cahide. However, I was happy to see that he was investigating Hulya. His brain seems to be working at least part of the time.

Susanlynn, I too was confused about the houses. Apparently Tahsin can see Cesur's house from his own, though I hadn't realized the houses were that close. I'm assuming that Cahide and Korhan are still living in Tahsin's house, but I'm not absolutely sure. And, having read everyone's comments, I think it's now clear that Suhan and Cesur did the deed, though like you I wondered.

VVS, I'm really glad you mentioned the guy in the jail cell. I had no idea who he was. All I knew was that the guard referred to him by name, which sounded like Riza or Reza, and said his letter to Cesur was the first he'd sent in 30 years. I didn't know that he was Adalet's brother. So was he in prison for the murders we saw her commit (shooting the guy from the orphanage and Hasan)? I imagine that Mithat's threat to open a 30-year-old book is somehow related to all this.

Jardinera, yes, I've noticed that this dizi relies A LOT on flashbacks to clear up scenes we're at first puzzled by. As for Korhan and the olives, I could be wrong, but I thought that he inherited not just the olive trees but everything they produced--olives, olive oil, money from sale of same, etc. You mention "Cahide and Azalete." Who is Azaleta? And how did you know that Hulya and Cahide are sisters from different mothers? I guess I've got to stop my brain from taking naps during the show.

amor-val

Thanks SO much, Juanita for your excellent descriptions and for getting us started.

Yep, this has to be one of the most confusing dizis/telenovelas I've seen. Sometimes I think they must have cut it severely to fit into the time frame they've planned and to have the space for the next 9PM show. And then other times I just think that's the way it's written.

I was SHOCKED that Suhan and Cesar had sex. She had just been very unhappy with his having gone ahead and had her ID ready for the wedding. Getting her ID would have been after the car rollover and before she saw with her own eyes that her father was willing to have her frightened by a kidnapping in order to blame it on Cesur. So she was not exactly in a mood for a noche de bodas. I suppose the more circumspect lovemaking scenes we see in the Turkish dizis may account for such quick shots where more is implied than shown.

Yes, Adalet's brother is the prisoner. I knew that when I saw it but couldn't quite remember why he was in there. Has she been visiting him? It sure looks like he's going to be key to unlocking some secrets. Do we know to whom he wrote his letter?

Yes that was kind of a Mexican telenovela move. Out of nowhere a second "guest house" appears.

Cahide gets the brass avocados award for coming up with Cesur having put that, I think, alambre de púas (barbed wire) under poor Timida's saddle. We saw her watching from some shrubs when Timida ran away with Suhan in the very first scene. As I said before, I despise this woman woman so much. Something about those huge, bug eyes drives me nuts.

I wish Miriban would get a clue about her rotten son. I hated to see him in that meeting with Banu's father. Whatever he learns will be used against Cesur.

That very much looked like the cave where Cesur showed Suhan the paintings. I was worried about Bulent finding them.

Poor Korhan. Just when I think he's on the righteous side, Cahide muddles his brain.

amor-val

Thanks very much, novelera, for your great comments. The person that prisoner Riza/Reza sent the letter to is Cesur Alemdaroglu.

Gotta run. I've got a Zoom session in a couple of minutes.

Sorry I again forgot to label earlier post. Juanita I meant Adaleta😩…just a saying meaning the two women are cut from the same cloth, not really related— her and Cahilde.—Jardinera654

Hey there novelera! I wonder too if there isn’t some cutting out of key scenes in this dizi. Some of the epi last night seemed choppy at best. Adalet’s brother wrote the letter to Cesur and he is in jail paying for her killing crimes. She has attempted to see him over the last 30 years, but he refuses to see her.

Cahide does indeed have some brass avocados, lol. She looks much too old for Korhan, maybe it is her buggy eyes.

I think Suhan soften up a bit when she learned that Cesur’s father also took his mother’s ID a few days before the wedding and surprised her with all the documents ready to go. Of course watching that handsome hunk dance so lovingly with his mom is another reason for her to soften up a bit.

Amor Val

Wow. Loved reading all the great comments. It's turning into a party. Thanks to everyone trying to help me with my confusion about the houses and who was in which house and about whether Suhan and Cesar had\hadn't made it official . I must admit that I was very confused about whether i was watching flashbacks or Cesar's wishful thinking . I understand little dialogue, but I did understand Suhan saying that she was going to her cama, and Cesar patting his chest and saying that her cama was right there. Who wouldn't listen to him and settle right down? Asking for a friend.

Regarding the fake belly, usually when you are pregnant, people including total strangers cannot keep their hands, off your belly.

Interesting that Cesar told Suhan that his dad had taken his mother's ID before their wedding to surprise her and have all the paperwork ready. Ahhhh.

And....again...this guy....let's review..loves his mom....cooks....wears aprons,....dances,....has great taste in flowers , jewelry ,and clothing ...rides motorcycles. ...now he paints rooms. Have we seen him chop wood yet? This guy must be a fantastic wood chopper.

amor-val

It takes a village. Between all of us we understand things better. When watching, I noticed Suhan finding out Hasan Karahasanoglu had done the same thing for his bride, taken her ID ahead of time. Her facial expression said a lot and probably explained what our founder, Melinama, used to call the "boink".

And, yes, VVS, watching him dance with his mother was very special.

Thanks for letting me know the letter Adalet's brother sent was to Cesur. They probably showed that, but my brain is a sieve sometimes. If I don't take notes, there are big holes in what is remembered the next day.

Jardinera, I think Cahide is much worse than Adalet. I have the feeling that a lot of what's going on with Adalet is that she's brainwashed by Mean Daddy. Especially, when she found out he had Suhan kidnapped, her facial expression showed some shock. But she sort of shakes off the ugly truth because she loves him. [Why, oh why? He's got the sex appeal of a dead walrus.] Plus there's some sort of past in the orphanage that binds them.

amor-val

I keep meaning to say that I really like the theme song at the beginning. The singer has a sort of husky, sexy voice.

Suhan is at her father's house getting some documents when Ol' Bug-Eyes walks in, seething with curiosity. Cahide is all sweetness and light. She tells her SIL that she knows Suhan only married that guy to annoy her father. Cahide tries it on about Cesur having put the wire under the horse's saddle. Suhan tells her she and her husband had a good laugh about that. And she tells her that Cesur signed a pre-nup and it was HIS idea.

Tahsin comes home before Suhan leaves. He asks if she's not ashamed to show up there. Suhan: "And you can talk to me about shame?" She tells him she came for the will because she knows he loves to destroy things that don't benefit him. When he hints Cesur is after her money she looks him dead in the eye. "Do you think everyone is like you?"

Tahsin rants about only doing what he did to teach her a lesson (the kidnapping). She laughs in his face, saying he's admitting it in front of everyone. He says she's turning her back on her family. She replies that she's only turning her back on him. She goes on to say that Cesur doesn't have to do anything to ruin his family; he's done it all by himself. At that he raises a hand to her. Korhan grabs his arm. Suhan doesn't flinch. She gets closer to him, stares at him and says she won't forget this.

Cesur rushes into, I think, the Mayor's office without knocking. The Mayor, Mehmet, and the DA are there conspiring, I think about what to do about that confiscated shipment. Cesur gives them a piece of his mind about his lack of water and electricity. "What do you hope to gain with this infamia. He gets angrier and angrier, raising his voice. [But not hysterical like he who shall not be named].

Suhan and Korhan seem both bi-polar to me. One of Suhan's employees shows her an order for perfume bottles with a poem on them. It's Cesur's father's poem. Instead of liking this, she cancels the order.

Tahsin orders the workers at Suhan's glass factory to leave. He says he'll pay them vacation time.

Hulya and Cahide talk on the phone. Hulya wants them to leave soon. [How is Cahide going to pull off going somewhere else for 3 months and then come back with a baby? How does she think Mean Daddy would stand for this?]

Korhan is at the police station trying to get some dirt on Cesur. [Again...bi-polar. What happened to the friendly BIL at the wedding?] He gets the file on Hulya. She has about four different rap sheets.

While Sirin and Suhan are arguing about Cesur's motives, the factory workers leave.

Korhan calls Cahide to say that Hulya is a prostitute. How did she ever find her? Cahide blames the usual suspect, Cesar and Korhan swallows it whole.

Bulent finds the paintings in the cave. Viewerville is nervous, but we should have trusted Rifat. The cave is wired for audio and video. Bulent calls Tahsin. His eyes bugging out, Tahsin orders him not to call the police. Then he orders Bulent to burn them. Bulent hears some guys coming and runs. He tells Tahsin over the phone that "he" stole the paintings to prove they belong to his family.

Suhan has a hissy fit at the factory, breaking glass. She blames everything on Cesur.

amor-val

Many thanks, novelera, for this excellent, concise recap. I think it covers everything important and helped clear up some things I didn't understand.

I was especially unclear about what went on in the Mayor's office, both when Cesur was present and after he left. Now I see that they were talking about the confiscated stuff (in carton 21). None of them were interested in Cesur's complaint about the cutting off of electricity and water. They simply lied and said that others had complained as well and they were looking into it. But I guess the confiscation of that carton was much more serious and could lead to other illegal activity. And so I guess that's why the district attorney, who had read the file, was worried. After the DA left the office, the Mayor said to Mehmet that "this man (Cesur, I assume) could take us down, and we have to take precautions."

Actually, I was a little surprised at how visibly and verbally angry Cesur was in that scene. You're right, he wasn't nearly as bad as he-who-shall-not-be-named, but more angry than I remember him being in public before.

I really like your describing both Suhan and Korhan as bi-polar. Both keep moving back and forth, often with no apparent reason, from liking/loving Cesur to hating and distrusting him and blaming him for just about everything. I don't think we're meant to see these two characters as bi-polar, but the writers have certainly presented them that way, especially but not only in this episode.

I was at first rather confused by how Cesur and Rifat knew that Bulent was in the tunnel. I didn't realize that they had wired the place for audio and video.

It was interesting that when Bulent called Tahsin to report finding the paintings, Tahsin told him to burn them. Bulent said that Cesur wanted them because they belonged to his family. Then Bulent heard someone coming, and he quickly hung up and left. So he didn't hear Tahsin tell him to take the paintings with him. And only Viewerville heard Tahsin say to himself, "If he's right, I'm done for (condenado)."

The only other thing I can think of to add to your terrific account is that Tahsin insisted that all the workers at Suhan's company stop working immediately (even though Valentine's Day was coming), and he threatened to fire anyone who continued to work.

Again, MANY thanks, novelera!

Amor Val

Novelera and juanita, thank you both for your thoughts . I thought I made a comment this a.m. , but either I didn't post it correctly or it disappeared.

I wondered about those perfume bottles and realized that Suhan rejected them. I thought Cesar sent them .

Was the flash back supposed to be a young Adalet shooting Hasan? She kind of looked like the young girl who works with Adalet.

How in the world did Bulent just happen to find that cave with the paintings ?

I don't cringe when Cesar loses his big temper . He doesnt squeak and squeal like you know who . Everyone gets mad when the power goes out . ..so Cesar is Everyman . We can all get behind that frustration.

Suhan seems to be sending Cesar mixed messages, We all voted and decided they did the deed the night when he talked out of returning to her cama by telling her that her cama was his chest. Now, she is blaming him for her glass factory workers walking out . Why would she think that after just telling Dad off and almost getting smacked if Korhan hadn't stopped Tahsin?

amor-val

Susanlynn, our brief comments about episodes instead of full recaps leave a lot out. What I gathered from the perfume bottle scene was that Cesur, presenting himself as a customer of her glass business, had ordered a line of bottles with his father's poem etched into the glass. There was to be a number of them made in the factory. But Suhan, snippy at that point for who knows what reason, told a worker there to cancel the order.

Yes, we saw that flashback before. Adalet shot Hasan Karahasanoglu at Tahsin's bidding. An earlier flashback showed him urging her on. Some of us think her brother went to prison for that crime. But that doesn't quite add up since Salih, aided perhaps by Mehmet, the crooked police chief, had arranged for Hasan to "die" in a car crash. Lots of unanswered questions.

In an episode before last night's we saw Bulent snooping around for some reason and seeing a cave entrance. Last night he returned, found a light switch, and saw the paintings. Not sure exactly how he found the cave entrance.

I believe we all agree that Cesur's anger, when he shows it, is impressive but not unhinged like Miran in Hercai when he lost it over jealousy of Reyyan. We've seen it twice. Once when he lunged at Tahsin from his jail cell and shouted that Tahsin owes him 3 deaths (his father and his grandparents). And the other was last night. He may have been more forceful than usual because his mother, suffering from partial dementia, lives in a house with no running water and lights from generators.

Yes, I'm getting a bit tired of Suhan's mood swings.

amor-val

Another thing. Apparently, Turkey also celebrates February 14, Valentine's Day. I've seen other couples celebrating this in other dizis. Having no workers especially affects Suhan because she needs to have produced glass items to be ordered as gifts for that special day. Now she will likely lose customers.

Amor Val

Thank you novelera for your recap, and Susalynn and Juanita for your comments. I can’t agree more, that Suhan’s “mood swings” are getting tiresome. She needs to make a choice, and she’s got two of them: trust your husband or go back home to Mean daddy and trust him! That’s it, and stop playing Minnie-in-the-middle! You already know that your Dad is a violent man——he almost smacked the crap outta you if Korhan didn’t intervene. By nature Cesur isn’t violent, just fed up and angry—-as he should be since your father stole his heritage! Korhan’s another one! Whatever Cahide feeds him, he swallows it like it’s his last meal! Such a dunce!

Bulent is quite sickening too, with that doe-eyed stare of his. They should’ve had that cave booby-trapped so that he would’ve got stuck up in the air in a net or something even more horrible! Seems like the bad guys have all the luck!

At least someone in that crooked police dept is questioning the way of things. Problem is, Mean daddy doesn’t stop, and keeps committing mean deed after mean deed. Who wouldn’t get sick of that?!?!?

amor-val

Arrgh, this episode (#26) started off with more of Suhan's distrust of Cesur. She even accuses him of putting the wire under Tímida's saddle. She also says that the only reason he saved her was that he needed her alive for his revenge. She accuses him of being as cruel as her father, and she warns him not to underestimate her, since she's Tahsin Korludag's daughter. Cesur asks whether he has ever hurt her. She says "you claim you won't hurt me. Prove it." Cesur asks how he can prove it. "Sign a pre-nup," she replies. [Huh?] He tells her it's too late for that, since they're already married. He goes on to say that their being married will benefit her: she won't have to testify against her father or her husband. He points out, "I didn't cut off the electricity and the water, I didn't sabotage your work. Your father did. And yet you blame me."

Cesur finally gets her to think about what they should do next, since Bulent has discovered the paintings that Cesur hid. Suhan insists that she didn't tell Bulent anything. Cesur says anyone could have told him, or he could have found them by himself. At any rate, says Cesur, "the police now know about them, because I told them. I'm going to prove that the paintings are mine. Your father will again tell his story, but this time he'll have to do so in court."

I confess that I'm quite confused about the rest of the episode, especially about the various accusations discussed (or, in Rifat's case, not discussed). Rifat drives to his garage to find the police waiting there to arrest him for robbery. What robbery? Are they talking about the paintings? Cesur and Kemal go to the police station, though what good that does Rifat, I don't know. Cesur assures Rifat that he'll be in jail just overnight, and then he'll be released. Huh?

Meanwhile, Tahsin is out in the woods with Mehmet, the DA (Tayfun?), and one other person. Why they're in the woods isn't clear to me. Tahsin says he doesn't really care about the paintings, and Cesur is his daughter's husband, and so he wants to drop the charges. The DA tells him that the robbery charges are public, and so even if Tahsin drops the charges, the investigation will continue. Tahsin insists that they find some way to drop the case. (Clearly, he realizes that investigation into the paintings could bring to light all kinds of terrible things Tahsin did.)

The DA then hands Tahsin a "notification" that says that the evidence provided in the property case has resulted in Mehmet, Sr. Nihat, and the DA being investigated. The DA says that a thorough investigation will take place. Mehmet says (to Tahsin, I think), "I warned you from the start that you shouldn't have gotten involved." (But Tahsin wasn't mentioned in the notification, was he?)

So there seem to be at least three crimes, at least two of which are robberies. Is the third the one involving Mithat and the goods in Carton 21 from several episodes ago?

A few more items I found interesting.
1) Korhan asks his father about the identity of the old couple in the painting. "Did you say they were my grandparents?" After a long pause, Tahsin says, "His grandparents." (He's admitting they're Cesur's grandparents?!!)

2) Sirin shows a video of her wedding. Cesur's mother catches a glimpse of the painting of her husband's parents. She tries to remember who they are. After much effort, she manages to say "suegra" (mother-in-law). But the video has moved on.

3) Banu admits that she may have told Bulent about the paintings when she was angry at Cesur and very drunk.

4) At the very end, Korhan is driving his car when he spots Hulya. He quickly parks the car and gives chase. They finally come face to face as the episode ends.

This is just an attempt to get the discussion started.

Amor Val

Thank you Juanita! Your “attempts” are great and much needed! This has got to be the most CONFUSING dizi EVAH! Lol! But somehow we do manage to get “clarity” after the fact. Things only make sense “after” the flashbacks make their appearance, yet I can’t wait to see what happens next, lol. These people are soooooo crooked, and it makes you wonder how anyone can get justice in this town! Folks are constantly getting arrested, having “quickie” trials, being released then being arrested again! Makes my head spin! And yes! Exactly why was Rifat arrested again?!?!

Suhan wants what she can’t have, a husband and father on good terms. She doesn’t want to have to choose, so both of them will always be at “fault” in her eyes, yet she desperately loves both of these flawed and secretive men. I don’t know if I could stand by, either, and watch the constant push and pull between them. She’s going to have to choose, and it’d be a good idea if she went to Cesur with her suspicions before accusing him. How she can even entertain that he would hurt her horse is ridiculous. But I did enjoy her quiet moment with his coat, lol. She breathed in his scent, and you could see that she yearns for him. If he were there at that moment, his promise to never touch her again would’ve flown right out the window! I’m also glad she found the ring. It seemed to soften some of her suspicions and thrill her at the same time.

Mean daddy has no fear of God. He acts like he’s going to live forever, and that he shouldn’t be trying to make amends for stealing Cesur’s life and having a major hand in killing his father and grandparents. It did sound like he was admitting to Korhan that they were Cesur’s grandparents, but it was also pretty vague the way that he said it. Seems like Mean daddy can only be “honest” with Adalet, and he even throws her out of the room from time to time when he’s on the phone with one of his partners in crime. Adalet may have pulled the trigger, but the mind game, that led her to it was all Tahsin.

Korhan is getting close to the truth about his darling Cahide, and I’m looking forward to him being outraged and disillusioned………

Juanita and carmella,,thank you for helping me understand what is happening.

Is anyone keeping track of how often the police have picked up Rifat? That could have been the premise of this show's drinking game.

Banu still looks devastated that Cesar married Suhan.

Well, I certainly understood that scene of Suhan burying her nose in Cesar's XL Big\Tall Eddie Bauer jacket and drinking in his manly essence . Then, the red box containing the ring just happens to fall out .

I didn't realize that Cesar told Suhan that he wouldn't touch her again . Wonder how long that promise will last.

Thanks so much, Juanita. Yep, confusion reigns here on the Turkish patio.

Regarding Rifat's arrest, I have a vague, fuzzy memory (most of mine are that way these days) of someone finding out that Rifat was the one who stole the painting out of Mean Daddy's house, replacing it with the copy. And, I suppose he was involved in the theft from the Istanbul house (or apartment). If it was ever explained how they knew of his involvement with the Istanbul theft, well, I missed it.

The thing that really puzzled me last night was Tahsin taking the copy of Hasan's painting off his wall and looking at the back of it. He was happy to see there was no signature by Hasan. Obviously he knows that what's in the cave is the real one and he has a copy. I can't figure out why this makes him happy. Does he think that Cesur putting the copy in his house proves Cesur is a thief? But I also thought Cesur had some way to prove his ownership. Along with Juanita: "Huh?"

I expected a bigger reaction from Cesur upon finding that Banu probably had the "loose lips" that almost cost him his paintings either being stolen or burned up. Again, Rifat is THE MAN!

Also, it now seems that Suhan lied to Cahide. She clearly told ol' bug-eyes that he had signed a pre-nup and that it was his idea to do so. I guess, like Viewerville, she couldn't stand Cahide's snide hints that Cesur married her to get his hands on the Kordulag property.

Thanks very much, carmella, Susanlynn, and novelera, for your incisive and delightful comments.

Carmella, yes, so many things in this dizi only make sense after the flashbacks. At first, I really liked that technique, but it's beginning to make me weary. And yes, the crookedness "makes you wonder how anyone can get justice in this town!" The answer, I think, is that by and large they can't get justice. Most of the people have learned that the only safe thing is to just go along with what the People in Power want. And thanks for confirming that Mean Daddy seemed to say to Korhan that the people in the painting were Cesur's grandparents. It was a stunning admission on his part, and, as you say, somewhat vague, so I wasn't 100% sure I'd heard correctly. But if both of us heard it....

Susanlynn, I laughed out loud at your suggestion that counting Rifat's arrests could be the premise of the dizi's drinking game! And yes, Banu still looked pretty devastated. My guess is it's partly because Cesur married Suhan, as you suggest, and perhaps partly from embarrassment at having spilled the beans to Bulent, and perhaps also because she's still hung over. And yes, somewhere in last night's episode, Cesur did assure the mistrusting Suhan that what happened the other night won't happen again. Of course, nothing seems to last long in this dizi.

Novelera, thanks for remembering some of the details of Rifat's involvement in "robbery." The thing is, IIRC he and Cesur managed to present his presence in the Kordaglu house as legitimate, and how could anyone know about his involvement in the Istanbul robbery? And yes, it's now clear that Suhan lied to Cahide about Cesur's signing a pre-nup. I take that as a sign that Suhan may be more distrustful of Cahide than I'd feared. As for Tahsin's being happy to see that there was no Hasan signature on the painting in his house, I too was puzzled by that.
