Lots more confusion. This quite elderly gentleman, I think, knew Hasan. Maybe they were in the army together. But somehow Tahsin has him under his thumb doing what he says.
Tahsin comes to Istanbul to manipulate Suhan. He tells her about the fact that Adalet and he have signed a pre-nup. First he lies that he’s going to die. He ends up admitting he doesn’t have a terminal illness but he swears to her he won’t be a killer. Later on we see what a huge lie that is.
Cesar is milling over telling Suhan the truth because he’s falling in love with her. But he sees her go back to Korludag with her father.
We see Adalet get suspicious about Hulya’s skills when she observes what “Ayse” is saying to Cahide.
More confusion about the business dealings. There’s some other construction firm (rivals ?) who come to the Korludag offices furious about something. We find out that Bulent sent a compromising email to them and had it appear to come from Cesur. Cesur furiously denies having sent it.
What? Hulya tells Turan that Cesur is the one who will bring the money he’s expecting to be paid to leave town. She tells him it’s a trap and he’ll be killed.
Cesur agrees to meet with the old man, Rifat having said Hasan’s son will come. But it’s a trap. Tahsin has gotten the old guy to say stuff Cesur will want to hear.
What a snakepit of people. Tahsin wants to kill the son of Hasan. He suspects that it’s Cesur. Bulent, Hulya and Cahide want to kill Cesur. [Why?]
Cahide grabs Suhan’s phone while Suhan gets ready for a shopping trip. She sends a text to Cesur saying he’s to come right away. She’s scared. Then Hulya has some pickpocket steal Suhan’s phone so she can’t pick up when Cesur calls.
We see his car shot to pieces, but then see a flashback where Cesur senses this could be a trap. Turan has about 6 guys there doing the shooting. But the cops come because Cesur has called them. It looks like the plot was thwarted, except that Turan does shoot Cesar.
In the hospital Suhan accuses him of lying and calls him Cesur K. At first he tells her it’s unfair to pressure a man in his condition, but then he tells her the truth. He says he made up everything to get close to the man who killed his father. When she says Hasan K died in a car crash, he says that, while Rifat couldn’t’ prove it, they believe he was put in the car already dead. She tries to leave. Cesur: I hid everything to at last bring Tahsin Korludag to justice. His wound re-opens and the nurse throws Kemal and Suhan out of his room.
Fugen is wrought up, and Sirin brings her to Casa Korludag to distract her. Adalet invites her into the Living Room, and she sees the painting (the copy Cesur put in its frame). She begins to talk about her family. Tahsin has come in. Fugen doesn’t’ see him, but he looks horrified at what she’s saying. Adalet turns and looks accusingly at him.
Novelera, thank you for clearing some things up for me .
Wow, that new guy just out of prison somehow assembled a while team of guys to shoot up Cesar's car . Then we think he has done now escaped injury and wasn't in the car (how!) , but then he gets shot while standing around talking ??? Why does Hulya want Cesar killed ? May e Cesar had better start wearing a kablar vest under his Eddie Bauer jacket.
Ok just shoot everyone and sort it out later. I think Bulent and is merry band of BSC women; want Cesur dead cause Cesur had the video of Cahide and Bulent in the forest of conspiracy. I think Tahsin and his Igor want him dead cause of whacking Hasan in the dreaded death slaughter of 87'.
Do you get a feeling Tahsin makes Salih carry a list of people to kill each day?
I love Suhan in the hospital. Nice death by nagging... The guy is flat lining and she just keeps nagging.
FEV
Thank you novelera, Fev and Juanita for providing some recap highlights over the last two weeks. I guess I thought no one was going to recap so I haven’t been checking in.
I was finally able to get caught up with these two-hour episodes. There is definitely a lot going on and it is very confusing. I appreciate the recaps and comments to help me understand a bit more.
I think Hulya and Cahide want Turan dead and Bulent set up Cesur. Those business owners who busted into the business meeting with that fake email of the minutes of the last meeting said it was from Cesur, but we saw a flashback of Bulent sending it. Bulent also said they could use him to be the hero, saying Turan could kill Cesur too, making him collateral damage to the ultimate goal of getting rid of Turan.
Adalet is pretty astute to Ayise/Hulya. I still have mixed emotions about her cold-blooded shooting of Cesur’s father. I guess I don’t feel as bad about her shooting the director of the orphanage.
My question from last nights episode is how in the heck did Suhan figure out Cesur was the son of Hasan K? Why was she running around in the forest and cemetery that Cesur had faked with signs and headstones when he knew she was following him a few episodes back?
Yes Fev, Suhan berating poor Cesur while he is practically flat-lining was something else.
Looks like the cat is out of the bag now for Tashin. Cesur’s mom is pretty lucid about all things regarding the death of her husband and the fact that Tashin (she thinks)/Adalet killed him.
Thank you novelera!
Fev, yes, I thought that Suhan would be weeping over Cesar in his hospital bed and declaring her love and concern for the fallen oak. Nope . Instead , she jumped all over him . I couldn't understand what she was saying , but there was no doubt she tore right into him as soon as she entered the room .QTH ??? In contrast , Banu was truly worried about him .
All those guys shooting at the truck was bizarre. These dizis always show that there is no shortage of guns for hire . #wildwildwestturkey
Thanks for the interesting comments, all. VVS, we don't have a scheduled recapping team for this one. Some of us have just been putting up random thoughts from time to time. If anyone feels the need, just go ahead. Since there isn't a regular recapper, there's no harm, no foul for just putting up your thoughts whenever you have them!
The Golden State Warriors are in the basketball playoffs, so my desire to post anything the night of the game or day after is dwindling. They play tonight.
Susanlynn, don't know if I have this right. Turan is some kind of low-level criminal. He may have killed the doctor who faked an ultrasound, or it may have been Hulya. They showed her burning the clothes and I assumed she did it. That doctor had an outstanding gambling debt, which is how Hulya got him to fake the ultrasound. It seems more likely Hulya killed him because why would the criminals kill the guy when they still might be able to collect? So, short answer, Turan had thugs at his disposal because he's part of some criminal enterprise.
Fev, thanks for mentioning that Bulent and Cahide wanted Cesur dead because of the cell phone video Kemal took. And I loved "shoot everyone and sort it out later". And also, "death by nagging". ITA with everyone disgusted at her grilling him when he was still groggy from anesthesia.
VVS, I knew Bulent sent the email, probably from Cesur's computer in the Kordulag offices. But I didn't understand what he sent. Thanks for mentioning it was the minutes of their last meeting.
I agree. Suhan figuring out everything because she noticed there was no forest with his family name on it was a stretch. I did like the forest idea. I think Suhan said they would not be sending out the usual Christmas gifts to clients and instead planting a tree in their names.
A general question. Maybe dondi is reading our comments. I was surprised to see a Christmas tree. Turks are mostly muslims, I thought. So...they do Christmas even though they aren't Christians?
Thank you novelera for the information about adding the highlights from each episode. I also appreciate you clarifying why Suhan was running around the forest. I forgot about her client Christmas gifts. Like you, I was also confused about the celebration of Christmas. There are so many different aspects to this dizi from what we saw in Hercai. All the women drive, everyone drinks openly and there are Christmas wreaths everywhere.
I’m glad to see there’s a patio for this. I’ve tuned in here and there. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this, and I can’t remember every detail. But I know the big picture. I’m avoiding comments for fear of spoiling.
I can answer the Christmas question. This Christmas in a dizi thing really ticks me. I have no idea why they change this in the Spanish version. Turkey is a majority Muslim country and Muslims don’t celebrate Christmas. Unless these people are Christians, what they are celebrating is New Year. It’s a big holiday that includes gift giving, dinners, parties, etc.
Some areas have adopted Christmas traditions to the New Year celebration. I notice this more in the Istanbul – Western Turkey based dizis. The streets, stores and homes are decorated with all kinds of winter holiday stuff. It’s especially funny to see Santa! (BTW, St. Nicholas was born in Turkey) There’s even a Turkish film on Netflix with a lead character who gets a job as a mall Santa.
Those who saw Fatmagul might remember that little Murat was excited to get a “Christmas” tree. Kerim put lights on the window. And there were “Christmas” gifts exchanged. Only it’s not Christmas!
Yep, there’s a big difference in dizis that take place in Western vs. Southeastern Turkey.
Traditions in different countries are interesting . I had a student from Paris who moved to the US at Cbristmas time . She to!d me that she saw wreaths on almost every door and couldn't believe that so many people had a death in the family because that's what the French do when someone in the fami!y dies.
I confess that I'm still very confused about what is happening and why. But here's a bit of what I think happened in Friday's 2-hour episode. I hope other people will fill in what I've left out and correct what I've gotten wrong.
Tahsin tells Adalet that Cesur is the son of Hasan Karahasanoglu.
Kemal and Mihriban arrive at the hospital. Cesur is standing up and wants to leave. He's eager to see his mother before she reveals more about what she remembers. He also wants to talk to Banu. "Everything will come to light soon," he says.
Hulya goes to see Necla, the young woman who works in the pharmacy with Adalet. Hulya says that she heard Turan used to be with Necla. She asks Necla to tell Turan to call her, it's important. "Tell him some men are looking for him." Necla goes into her apartment and calls Turan's name, but he's not there. She sees a message written on the wall, "Thanks for everything, angel," along with a note saying he'd get her car back to her the next day.
We see Bulent driving and looking frantic. He calls Cahide and tells her to call the police. "That man is following me." Turan drives in front of Bulent, cutting him off. He points a gun at Bulent and orders him to get out of the car. Korhan is present when Cahide receives Bulent's call, and he leaves to go help Bulent. Suhan leaves as well. Hulya is also present. The police arrive and arrest Turan. He yells that Bulent and Cahide set him up. As the police take Turan away, he yells at Hulya, "That baby is going to have a real problem when Bulent goes to prison. I'm going to tear all of you apart, piece by piece." Korhan says to Hulya, "It looks like Turan wasn't the only one lying." Hulya replies that Turan is a maniac who follows her everywhere.
Cesur tells Kemal that they have to get his mother out of the house. He also tells Kemal that he has a secret to share with him: "I came to settle the score with Tahsin Korludag--he killed my father." Kemal pledges to do all he can to bring him to justice.
Suhan tells Sirin that Cesur's real last name is Karahasanoglu. "He came here to hur my father. He got close to me so he could get to my father. Everything has been a lie. I fell for his game, too. I hate him, but losing him terrifies me. The day I began to hate him, I knew I was in love." She cries. She and Sirin hug. Sirin tells Suhan what Cesur's mother said at Tahsin's house about the painting. Suhan leaves and goes home. She finds her father in the study with Adalet and asks to talk to him alone. When Adalet leaves, Suhan tells her father that she feels surrounded by lies. She used to see her father as a great mountain. Not now. But she still wants to love him. Suhan goes into the living room and stares at the painting on the wall.
Kemal helps the weak but determined Cesur to leave the hospital. Rifat is there to drive Cesur home. But first, they want to check on a place nearby with lots of trucks. I didn't follow what was being said, but they see Mithat talking to Mehmet, the police guy who helps Tahsin. He may be the police commissioner, whose last name is Topakci, and it turns out that's also Mithat's last name.
Suhan tells Cesur that he should leave town within the next 10 days, because her father will never leave him alone.
Sirin tells Kemal that Suhan told her that on the day she started to hate Cesur, whe realized she was in love. Cesur overhears Sirin say this.
Mihriban and Cahide are in Mihriban's car. She gets a call from Murat, someone she had consulted. He tells her that the insurance company gave him the information she had requested. The paintings belonged to the Karahasanoglu family. With that, the episode ends.
Thank you Juanita, seems you hit all the important parts. I’m also still a little on the confused side, but I can honestly say that I like this dizi——even though catching up has been a bit trying. It’s amazing how the three stooges, (Cahide, Huyla, and Bulent) can lie and make up stuff as they go along! They seem to be ahead of the game right now, but the looks on Korhan, Suhan and Mirhiban’s faces are very telling. As emotional as Korhan is, he’s a thinker. You can see the wheels literally turning in his head. Cahide is able to manipulate him for the moment.
Speaking of “ahead of the game” Cesur has just gotten to that point, thank goodness. He wanted to bad to make a connection with Mithat because of his father, but Mean daddy has all roads secured. You have to admit it, Mean daddy is pretty brilliant in how he’s made all this work for him. Yeah, he’s cunning, greedy, treacherous, a liar, cold blooded and a low life thug, but he’s definitely an ambitious SOB! He’s created his own empire! Impressive! Sooooooo, that’s what Suhan meant when she told Cesur that he should leave….. I didn’t quite know where she was going with that…….
I loved Suhan waking up all refreshed and happy in Cesur’s bed! Not sure when the clothes change happened, but she did look “hermosa” through Cesur’s hungry eyes, lol. I love how calm this man is! He’s also a thinker, and tries hard to think before he acts. Suhan’s “supposed” phone call was the only dent in his plan so far, but when you think about it, the three stooges saved him from going straight in Mean daddy’s trap. I hope Turhan eats them all for breakfast and regurgitates them for lunch! Especially Huyla! I almost hate her more than Cahide!
I’m on the fence about Adalet. I really wonder if she knows the whole truth about Mean daddy even though he told Suhan that she’s the only one he has been completely honest with. She definitely seems to be his ride or die, but there’s a quiet compassion and sincerity in those opulent blue eyes of hers. No matter what she truly knows or not, she killed Cesur’s dad in cold blood——at least from what we saw……
Juanita, thank you so much . I would be lost without some help . I can only try to catch the visual clues....like he was shot so that guy is not Cesar's friend ....or...she kissed him so she juest like him ....or they're wearing jackets so I guess they are cold but probably not talking about the weather. Sometimes I make up my own dialogue. ..and it's pretty funny.
Carmella, I also noticed that Goldilocks climbed into Big Bear's bed wearing her clothes but then crawled out wearing his teeshirt. Wounded , just out of the hospital galan had to sleep on the couch.
Thank you SO much, Juanita. Great job on the recap. I just can't get over how this dizi just roars along like a freight train. I NEVER expected Suhan to catch on to her father's true nature so quickly.
The scene where there is a roomful of people discussing Turan's motives surprised me. Necla, the pharmacy assistant was even there.
I think that the significance of the scene Kemal, Cesur and Rifat watched with all the trucks involved some sort of crooked dealings. Wasn't there something in Fatmagul about that rich family doing things to avoid tariffs on imported goods? I think Tahsin may be bribing Mithat with helping him avoid tariffs or some such thing so he will lie to anyone and everyone about Tahsin's past. The old fart was even willing to lure Cesur there knowing Tahsin would kill him. I don't think the trucks contained drugs, just imported goods that will escape tariffs because of Mehmet's involvement. Looks like Turkey might be right up there with Mexico in the number of crooked police. [Or at least the ones in dizis}
Bulet is a weasel. I adored Turan bullying him that way, especially when he said he knew the weasal was scared because he could smell the s%&t on his legs.
I really like Kemal. Sirin not as much. I know she and Suhan were raised in the same house. Her mother is the cook and her father Tahsin's attack dog. But she's way too much in Suhan's business. And she's SO nosy. A good side of her is her tender care of Fugen.
Adalet knows most things, but not everything. I remember the surprised look on her face when Fugen talked about the painting belonging to her family.
Hulya may be just as bad as Tahsin. I knew she wasn't going to be sent away. Korhan is a really soft touch. I can't see how there can be a comeuppance for Cahide without devastating Korhan. He's done quite a turnaround in the dizi. At first he giggled and was unbearable. Now he's just a good man with an awful father, trying his best.
Yes, Cesur is definitely the anti-Miran! He looks great with that tiny ponytail and his whole forehead in view, as opposed to 90% Angry Bangs. And the look on his face when he saw Suhan get into a car with her father was so subtle. Not a hint of a rant.
Hulya may be almost as evil as Tahsin. Besides all the killing, she's greedy. She looked like she wanted to snatch Cahide's New Year's gift from the velvet lining of the jewelry box. I'm believing Turan that he didn't kill the doctor. Looks like she was the one. Kind of a mystery why she had to strip him naked.
Mr. Google tells me that oglu in Turkish surnames means "son of". There have been several such names in my brief dizi-watching career.
Thanks VERY much, Carmella, Susanlynn, and novelera, for your great comments.
Carmella, I love it when a character develops, and Korhan certainly seems to be such a character. For me, the change started when he confronted his father in the bar, helped by lots of alcohol, and has been progressing ever since. I was especially surprised and pleased when he voted against his father's wishes at the board meeting. And good point about the stooges unintentionally saving Cesur from Mithat.
Susanlynn, I enjoyed your describing your search for visual clues. What I like about this dizi as opposed to thank-goodness-it's-finally-over is that the clues are often more subtle. And thanks to you and Carmella for mentioning Suhan's change of clothes after sleeping in Cesur's bed. That hadn't registered in my brain.
Novelera thanks very much for explaining the scene where Cesur, Rifat, and Kemal see the trucks and, of course, Mehmet and Mithat. That scene probably saved Cesur from pursuing Mithat as a reliable source of information. And yes, in almost every way, Cesur is the anti-Miran. IMHO every one of the ways is in Cesur's favor. Thanks, too, for the information about the meaning of "oglu" in Turkish names. I had no idea.
I have enjoyed reading everyone's comments .
Hercai was frustrating , but our little group here on the Telemundo patio had such fun , interesting discussions while We were watching and waiting for it to get better. The worse that show got, the more clever, funny comments we shared . I think the term " angry bangs " has been seared deep into my brain. Thanks to whomever hatched that catchy, unforgettable nickname .
I am so happy that the group seems to be assembling again for this dizi. Cesar's strong, calm nature makes me feel like everything will be okay . We need heroes. And that hair...I can even forgive the manbun...on him , it looks good. #shallowsorrynotsorry
Hey, we put up with hissyfits and angrybangs for months. We deserve some quiet .....and some eye candy .
I agree, Susanlynn, we definitely deserve some eye candy, and I'm delighted that the sequence that opens each day's episode includes a splendid shot of bare-chested Cesur.
ITA! Cesur is a breath of FRESH AIR after “he who will not be mentioned, aka “Angry Bangs,” lol! Give me the strong, silent type anyday, and even if Cesur was as ugly as a slug, his character makes him as appealing and sexy as all get out!
Carmella and Juanita , sometimes just being quiet and calm is very attractive . Definitely my type . #Stillwaters #silenceisgolden #shutit
I , too, find Suhan's friend\servant annoying . ..and loud even though I don't know what she is saying . She is a little foolery for me. Simmer down. I like Kemel, another quiet, low-key guy.
" Those who know do not speak; those who speak do not know . "

Susanlynn, I have a method I use for putting up comments that helps me get rid of my own typos and illogical trains of thought. At the bottom of that window where one types the comment there are two buttons. One of them is "Publish your comment" in orange and the other is Preview in grey.
I always preview and try to catch typos and/or things that don't make sense on a second reading...before publishing my comment.
Novelera,,thanks I will try that . My tablet sometimes changes words back after I correct them .I have to be more careful.
Susanlynn, we love to hear from you, typos and all! I just noticed you sometimes put up a second comment to let us know AutoCorrect did it to you again. My comment was by no means critical. You are such an addition to the patio!
In spite of the fact that Telemundo's online program guide shows Amor Valiente scheduled today from 9-10PM (followed by the start of Infiél at 10PM, Zap2It and several other program guides show Casa de las Famosos running until 10 PM tonight, and NO Amor Valiente. I would assume that Telemundo simply hasn't kept its program guide updated (it wouldn't be the first time), but I don't think that Friday's episode of AV said anything about its not being shown on Monday. So it's anyone's guess as to whether Amor Valiente will be shown tonight.
My DirecTV guide says no Amor Valiente tonight, instead two hours of Casa de Los Famosos.
DirecTV does show the premiere of Infiel tonight at 10PM.
Any volunteers to recap the first epi of Infiel?. I have a Warriors game to watch and don't feel up to a recap. I will probably watch, though.
