La herencia #32 Monday 08/29/22 Knocking on Heaven's door
Simon has plenty of "nice" things to say about Sara: the “I hope she dies” (!!), “she is coming between us” and the old reliable “everything is her fault”. Juan gets mad (I mean, MAD!), not even Modesto can stop him from punching Simon (not enough, in my opinion). He also says that nobody will ever be able to separate him from Sara, not even the sorry excuse of a brother that Simon has become.
At the hospital Pedro watches petrified as
the doctors try to resuscitate Sara and he flashes back to hours earlier, at
the conference, when Henry asked if he’d like him to “scare” Sara just a little
bit. OMG, Pedro, no you didn’t! Back to the present, he has tears in his eyes, realizes that he went
too far (ya think?!), but is it too little, too late? Nope, the doctors manage
to revive Sara… for now.
Rosa asks Bertha to keep Irma’s “visit”
hidden from Prospi. Bertha agrees, but would like the nasty details. Rosa pretends to be offended, but then Deb rescues her by arriving to say what happened with her daughter and that
she has to go back to the ranch and protect her inheritance. Rosa says she’s
sorry about Sara, but Deb, God bless her heart, asks Rosa not to pretend, she
knows she can’t stand Sara. Enter Julieta, who already knows what happened and
plans to keep vigil at the hospital for Juan, not Sara. And soon enough she
might go live at the ranch, too.
Deb asks if she plans to get into Juan’s
bed while Sara is in the hospital. Juli plays the decency card, just like her momma
taught her (Rosa and Bertha's faces during this conversation are the best), not like Deb, who suggested she sleep with Juan a while back. Deb admits she did give her this advice, but that was before he was
Sara’s novio. Juli throws her out.
Mateo is upset with Lucas for spilling the truth (as if Mateo needed more reason to be unlikable). Juan forbids Simon to ever touch Sara again. Modesto thinks she’s not to
blame for what is happening, they are only using her to justify their bitter
resentments over their past traumas. But No More Hitting! Or else all the love
they have been given by their parents will have been in vain.
Pedro calls Juan to tell him Sara went into
cardiac arrest. They were able to revive her, but it’s not sure if she will be
getting through the night. No point in coming, she is isolated, nobody can see her.
Funny moment with Bertha at her wits' end
about the crazy family she’s working for. Alondra is unhappy, too, because of
everything going on between her parents. Dad has a lover - Bertha rolls her eyes, says nobody is
perfect, both Prospi and Rosa have made mistakes, but everything happens for a
reason. Alondra hugs her – these girls really need a woman’s love and care.
Amado and Cornelio talk about Corni’s
plans. Amado ends up mentioning his brother and says it’s Lucas. He gives Corni
a lot of good advice about trying to mend his life and not commiting any crimes
that he might feel sorry for, but Corni won’t hear any of it.
In his room Juan is getting dressed, while remembering
his fights with Simon, Severiano’s advice, Henry’s menace and Sara almost dying.
He cries. Modesto knocks on the door and asks him to cry away, it will ease his
soul; he can also ask for God’s help, He and Catalina are protecting him. He
also encourages Juan by saying he did everything right. Juan says he needs to
make a decision that will break his heart. Modesto hugs him.
Rosa and Prospi fight over him getting home late. Alondra hears them and gets restless, she and Bertha intervene.
She asks them to stop fighting, but Prospi and Rosa start offending one another.
Apparently she didn’t come from such a well off family as she pretends, she
inherited her parents’ life insurance, 50.000 pesos, which she invested in
their shop. She thinks this gives her all the rights, Prospi says it’s not such
a big deal. Alondra is sick of all the fighting, she storms out. Bertha tells
them they should keep their problems for themselves, not share them with their
daughters.
Modesto has come to see Simon, who is once
again on the floor, his favorite place. He tells him that all this resentment
won’t help him be happy with Paloma, who has been hurt a lot, too. Simon says
he tries, but he can’t find peace. He did feel Modesto’s love earlier and it made
him feel peaceful. They hug and Modesto promises to never let go.
Later Simon tries to call Paloma, but she won’t
answer. She’s with Bea, but she’s still upset over Sara. She’s also afraid he
might be a violent man and Bea can understand that all too well. She loves him
so much, but she’s not sure she wants to marry him anymore.
Julieta calls Pedro to ask about Juan, who
isn’t answering her calls. She thinks Pedro should stay at the hospital, protect Sara from people
wanting to kill her again.
Some guy in a car lighting a cigarette and
preparing a gun with a silencer….
Pedro goes to Sara’s room again, almost
kisses her (dude, she’s in a coma!). He'd like to tell her so many things,
like the fact that she and Tadeo are what he loves the most in this world. He will never stop fighting for her love. And then he
kisses her for real.
The fight is still going in the Millan
family. Prospi’s sick of Rosa pretending to be better than everyone else and her constant need to control everything.
That’s not what he wanted in a wife. He wants to change, he wants them to be
partners – how long has it been since they last made love or kissed? Rosa rejects his attempts at a reconciliation, so he draws the conclusion that they need
to get a divorce. She is impactada.
Alondra comes running to the ranch and
cries to Lucas about her parents. He’s not doing better, either, he tells her
what happened with Sara. She agrees to join him at the hospital.
Julieta is talking with Mateo in the living
room. He thinks she must be very happy about what is happening to Sara and knows
she only came for Juan. Maybe she should take advantage and spend the night
with his brother like she once did with him, not long ago. HA! Juan comes down, while Julieta tries to silence Mateo.
The guy in the car was Dante, who is impersonating Henry’s driver. When the guy enters his car complaining about I don't know what, Dante kills him in cold
blood for what he did to Sara. Just like that.
At Adela’s, they are all worried about Sara
(Jess is eating and making faces at the food). Salvador arrives to comfort
Adela – he hugs her and holds her hand, and he also has some good news: he
agrees to have Dulce’s fiesta at his bar. Bryan notices the closeness between
Salvador and Adela and asks what his intentions with his mother are.
Salvador says Adela is a great woman and he has
the best of intentions with her. Jess says this is none of their business and the rest
of the family agrees. They decide to start planning Dulce’s party after they
pray for Sara’s wellbeing.
Deb is back at the ranch! She explains to Mateo that she
came to defend Sara’s rights and she’s here to stay. She brought a lot of luggage, too, and I’m kind of cheering
for her, it’s the least these useless pieces of scum deserve.
In the study, Julieta tells Juan that she is pregnant. He
says it’s been more than a month since they've been together, he needs proof it’s his
baby. Besides he’s in a hurry to go to the hospital. Julieta plays the offended
card, says she will keep his child away if he treats her like this. How can he do that, when he was born in a broken family, too. Juan sees
the manipulation and calls her up on it. He will never allow Julieta to do this. He
hears noises and goes to the living room to say that he doesn’t mind Deb living
at the house. Julieta also announces everyone that she is pregnant with Juan’s
baby.
Sara wakes up for a second and calls for
Juan.
Following him in their room, Rosa tells Prospi she doesn’t want a
divorce. She says she still loves him, he is her daughters’ father. But Prospi
doesn’t believe her anymore and he doesn’t care what people will say. She says
she is willing to change, she will be more supportive of their daughters and
she will become the woman he fell in love with. They kiss and fall on the bed.
Deb thinks Juli’s lying, calls her a
trepadora. Juli says Juan is aware of it and is very happy, then leaves. Deb
asks Mateo if he wants to drink to celebrate that he is to become an uncle.
Juan arrives at the hospital and Pedro
tells him Sara woke up for a second. The doctors saved her life. Juan wants to
spend the night with Sara, and asks Pedro to go declare to the police what happened.
When Pedro leaves, it’s Juan’s turn to talk to Sara. He remembers their
kissing, says he needs her, but can’t risk her life like this anymore. She
deserves to be happy, even if that means that she has to be far away from him.
He apologizes for having been so rough with her in the past, thinks fate is
against them being together. But he doesn’t want to lose her.
In her room at the ranch Deb gets a call
from the hospital, with someone letting her know that Sara hasn’t been doing
very well. Deb gets restless, when she hangs up she grabs a portrait of a young Sara and cries, praying to God to save her daughter.
Mateo tells Modesto that Juli is lying, the
baby can’t be Juan's. Modesto asks what happened between them, but Mateo evades
the question. Modesto says this will change everything between Juan and Sara,
too, so he better think about telling the truth.
Pedro is doing his declaration with a cop.
He has no clue who attacked them, but he will go to the station to file a
complaint. Lucas tells him he doesn’t plan to leave the hospital until he’s
sure Sara is OK.
Still with Sara, Juan tells her he wants to
spend the rest of his life with her. But her happiness is more important.
Whatever that means…

“Deb… explains to Mateo that she came to defend Sara’s rights and she’s here to stay. She brought a lot of luggage, too, and I’m kind of cheering for her, it’s the least these useless pieces of scum deserve” was pure perfection.
As (surprisingly) genuinely devastated that Deb appears to be about Sara, her ability to scathingly provoke was not at all diminished as evidenced by her asking Mateo “… if he wants to drink to celebrate that he is to become an uncle”. I did not feel an ounce of pity for Mateo who continually stews in the juices of his own misery.
Juan confirmed our worst fears that he was indeed the one in bed with Julieta in her flashback. When Juan said he wouldn’t allow Julieta to manipulate him, we knew of course that this is exactly what will happen.
Berta was the lone voice of reason tonight.
The scenes between Rosa and Prospi were upsetting. You could see and feel his hurt caused by Rosa’s initial refusal to kiss him. When he threatened divorce, she realized she’d pushed too hard. But was her reaction fueled by the loss of a husband she genuinely cares for or rather what others would say?
Pedro played with fire and Sara got burned. Simon rages and Paloma has second thoughts.
Adriana, thank you for explaining all the action tonight so expertly.
Diana
My favorite scene was Dante killing Henry, lighting up a cigarette and removing the silencer as if he had done many times before. Dante is a fascinating character as is Deb.
My least favorite scenes were Pedro pawing over the unconscious Sara knowing she has no romantic interest in him. Frankly, he was creepy in the hospital scenes.
Rosa only backtracked with Prospi. because she knows she has no money without him. I felt sorry for him but not her.
So, Juan is supposed to be Pedro’s and Simón’s punching bag and put up with their abuse? Don’t think so.
I hope Paloma can keep her resolve and cut Simón off.
Not stable aka nutty characters Simón, Pedro, Cornelio, Mateo (because of his alcoholism), and Juli. What a losers’ circle and it keeps growing.
“Berta was the lone voice of reason tonight.” Diana you called it!
Diana, I read Juan and Mateo's reaction completely different - they both immediately wondered about the timing: Mateo implied they've been together recently, before Juli could sush him and Juan was shoked she might be pregnant with his baby, since it's been a while since they slept together - to which Juli explained she's more than a month pregnant.
This, added to the fact that Juan's back is covered in tattoos and Juli's flashback only had the guy with the one tattoo, I am now certain Mateo is the father and Juan is the patsy.
Jarifa, I found Pedro kisisng Sara on her death bed (literally) totally disgusting, too, and I also kind of liked Dante's kick ass attitude. The guy is definitely Sara's sperm donor.

"Modesto has come to see Simon, who is once again on the floor, his favorite place. " Lol!
"The scenes between Rosa and Prospi were upsetting. You could see and feel his hurt caused by Rosa’s initial refusal to kiss him. When he threatened divorce, she realized she’d pushed too hard. But was her reaction fueled by the loss of a husband she genuinely cares for or rather what others would say?" Diana, I unfortunately think it's the second one. I hate Rosa. I hope these do get a divorce. I have been saying it for many episodes, Prospi is finally starting to listen to me, lol!
"Dante is a fascinating character as is Deb."
And
"My least favorite scenes were Pedro pawing over the unconscious Sara knowing she has no romantic interest in him. Frankly, he was creepy in the hospital scenes." ITA, Jarifa. I have said it before and I'll say it again: Pedro is the worst of the brothers.
Julieta is turning into her mother. Adriana, I, too think Mateo is the father. Can't wait until Julieta whines to and manupulates Juan, Juan breaks up with Sara because he'll get manipulated and Mateo shushing up about the whole thing... Not.
So Dante was the man in the brown shoes.
Henry yelled at his "driver" for smoking in the car. We've never seen Dante smoke so he must have a lot of information about the gringo creep and his minions. His taking out this monster definitely points to him being Sara's sperm donor.
I have to wonder whether the general representation of gringos in telenovelas creates and/or encourages contempt in the minds of most Mexican viewers.
As bad as he is I can't imagine Pedro being behind this attack. He was the one who pointed out to Juan that their father never trusted Henry. That sounded like a reminder because Juan would not have been far away from the business then.
Mateo has to be the sperm donor of Julieta's fetus. She will have to bribe someone for a false DNA test result if she wants to convince Juan that he is the father. We have seen this before.
I don't see how Deborah could get her claws on the entire inheritance by destroying the brothers' relationships to each other. It will all go to a fake charity that only Dante will have access to... unless she plans on killing him, in which case wouldn't his wife get everything?
There will be lots of conflict with her and Modesto back at the hacienda. She will snap her fingers at him and any one of the brothers will get on her case about this. She is the one who should have been tossed into the mud.
Prospero should divorce Rosa. She has repeatedly proven to be an embarrassment.
More later.
Dante IS fascinating, if cold blooded. He and Deb are a match made in hell.
Adriana, you and Jarifa are so right about Pedro trying to mack on an unconscious Sara was sickening. Adriana, I agree Juan was likely reviewing when he had his last tryst with Juli, I was only saying that he will likely take full responsibility regardless. Juli had ice in her veins with her announcement, complete, haughty dismissal of Mateo and a not at all veiled threat to Juan. Juan will be caving shortly. Ack.
Wierdo, I felt sorry for Prospi. As much as I don't like Rosa, I had hoped there might be a tiny bit of caring but am doubtful. Wait until Prospi finds out who Deb really is. While I agree they should divorce, I have a feeling Prospi and Rosa will stay together. Hope I'm wrong. And WHEN is that makeover coming?? 😊
Urban, I don't think Pedro was behind Sara's attack, but he knew of it in advance although not how vicious it would be. The murder was done easily which makes me wonder how many previous there have been.
Diana
I agree about Pedro creepily kissing the unconscious Sara, but he did seem truly devastated . Henry asked if Pedro wanted him to "scare" Sara, so I don't think Pedro expected what happened, and I don't think he knew how really bad Henry is(was). ...a criminal. I am now wondering how Henry didn't retaliate more directly on Juan after Juan attacked and headbutted him .
Wow, Juli is a stone cold, heartless witch. We all know that San Juan ( ha ha) will do the honorable thing which will leave Pedro to care for Sara as she recovers . It is going to get messy .
Speaking of stone cold, Dante was quite calm and deliberate when he shot Henry . This was obviously not Dante's first rodeo , and he must be Sara's bio dad to react so swiftly and violetly in that manner.
Is Rosa wearing a wig? Her wardrobe is awful. I get a kick out of Beets ( the maid???) Always piping up with her opinions.
Deb and her hat are back at the ranch. If Juli moves in , it will be a full house of....well, you can fill in that blank. Modesto will have his hands full refereeing .
Looks like Meester Henry is heestory.
My take is that Pedro was ok with Mr Henry's people roughing up Sara a little bit, per that comment at the conference, but not to such a brutally morbid extent.
The looks Mateo was giving Juli make me think those two were "revolcandose" and he thinks it is his.
At this point, I don't trust anything Juli does or says. Could her flashback scene we have all been analyzing been "her truth"? Deciding in her own mind it was Juan when perhaps it was Msateo? Although, Juan did not deny the baby could be his. Juli might have been two-timing Juan.
For the first time, I noticed the large (24"x36") large portrait in Juan's bedroom of .... an avocado. That is too funny. (Scene when Modesto came to talk to Juan)
The maid's name might be Bertha, but we all refer to her as Berta.
I have to say getting to see Juan's headbutting Henry for the third time was a real treat!
Diana
doris, I just laughed out loud! Just great. Thanks for the laugh - I needed that.
Diana
Closed captions, as terrible as they are, might have been input for this telenovela by gringo interns trying to learn Spanish. En serio. Last night, the captions actually had Brayan's name spelled "Brian." Oops. ;-)
Well, regarding Juli and her bebe, at least Mateo confided in Modesto about his doubts that Juan is the dad. Now, how long will Modesto hang on to that bit of information? I
Bubble bubble, toil and trouble . The pot is boiling with several people taking turns t stir it .
Thanks, doris, for the “Meester Henry . . .”
The first time I saw Tiaré Scanda was when she played Marcela, a good hearted working woman, ( in “Por ella soy Eva”) with a jack*** machista for a husband. Maybe some of you remember her from there.
Diana, I also fear that Juan will be “caving shortly. Ack!” Maybe a double “Ack”?
I keep wondering when did Juli and Mateo did the horizontal after the show started. She was getting engaged to Juan, Mateo kissed her, then Juan started to get distracted by Sara and Juli started to protest... Has to be around that time, but since they never hinted to it all we can do is speculate for now. I'm sure Juli knows Mateo is the father, otherwise she wouldn't be so desperate to convince Juan it's his.
after playing offended in front of Rosa because Deb suggested she seduce Juan, it's a shame Deb didn't call her out on her hypocrisy when she foudn out about the pregnancy.
And I didn't even realize Juan was gone when Juli announced the pregnancy in the middle of the living room - the guy really didn't have time for that! LOL
Diana, I'm soooo looking forward for Prospi's makeover. I think Rosa is playing him for now, but if they do end up together, I hope he makes her work for it (for real). Wouldn't it be fun if at the end of the novela Prospi had Rosa, Irma and Deb chasing him?
After Juan socks him good, Simon falls back on the couch with his arms shielding his upper body to block another blow. Nope, for all his loco bravado, Simon does not want to go toe to toe with his big bro.
Poor Juan feels responsible for his whole loopy family. I felt for him when he was crying to Modesto.
ITA about Pedro planting one on Sara's lips. For one thing, her skin is reddened from the attacking, indicating swelling and pain. A light kiss on the forehead would've been better. I'm not convinced when I hear Pedro says he loves Tadeo and Sara more than anything. His whole kick about Tadeo has been about ownership, not about how the boy is feeling with his family splitting up.
If Dante is Sara's father (I still believe Deb is scamming Dante, not Sev, on this) and a badass executioner, has he done this sort of thing before? Why has he stayed in Sev's shadow?
Poor Prospi. Rosa gives him a mercy lay to avoid divorce in order to keep up appearances. How did she become like this?
I don't know how diabolical Julieta is. Surely DNA will tell if the baby's daddy is Juan (with tatoos), Mateo (without tatoos), or (my total crackpot theory) a third guy (looked like fewer tatoos than Juan's in her flashback)?
Sara better hurry up and get well before the Del Monte mansion explodes. I foresee much snarling, gritting, and wine tossing will ensue with Deb there. Modesto deserves battle pay breaking up these fights.
Pedro is really bad. I’m sure he didn’t want Sara at death’s door, but if you supposedly love someone would you even want them scared? And I bet he knew that scaring Sara was going to get physical. Lip kissing an unconscious woman is just wrong!
I agree that Dante has killed before. That was a cold blooded killing. Did he ever tell Henry why his life was ending? And did Henry know Sara was near death?
Juli is pretty much on Deb’s level. I am sure the baby is Mateo’s. He may have that tattoo. Juan was covered in tattoos but did we ever see his back?
Poor Prospero! He deserves someone loving. Rosa turned away when he tried to kiss her. I think she’s staying with him because she’s afraid people will talk.
With Deb back, and Julie talking about moving in, we’ll all decide our own families are perfect! I’m dreading all the shouting and arguing. There was enough with just the brothers!
Liz
Great comments. This show is getting pretty interesting .
I was surprised that Meeester Henry was eliminated so quickly.
Both Pedro and Juan kissed Sara on the lips . QTH . What is wrong with these guys????
I'm actually more interested in seeing what eventually happens with Prospi and Rosa than most of the other storylines. I gather Rosa actually was (gulp) loveable once upon a time which is why Prospi must have fallen in love with her. Something else (rather catastrophic) will need to happen to make her change to the degree necessary. Discovering Deb is Prospi's lover would be a definite step in that direction.
Diana
I'm late to the party, it's been a long day and I'm just now getting the chance to watch. I get that Deb seems genuinely worried about Sara but just like Juan going off to yell at Simon I am wondering why she leaves her daughter who is in critical condition at the hospital, so she can go and move into the hacienda?? It seems off for the picture of the loving mother.
Simon still crying, crying, crying. Run Paloma! Run!!!
Poor Berta, so wise so logical, so surrounded by crazy people.
As for her "investment" in the fabric store she only inherited 50,000 pesos which is about $2,506 US dollars. That is chickenfeed for a business start-up.
Sara's value to Deborah is that she is bait for money from any rich guy Deborah thinks she can manipulate. Deborah is no better than Rosa.
Berta is an interesting paradox: Outwardly she looks like a Victorian spinster but inwardly she is anything but. She has values that don't match what is going on around her. While Modesto is probably old enough to be her father he is the man for her. If they got married in the next ten episodes they could whip everyone else into shape.
Gold-Digger Debbie OMG: Do you even care about your daughter, who almost got killed by Henry courtesy of Psycho Pedro ?
Where is Maury Povich to expose the truth here ?
Does anyone know what happened to Stevey? There are so many Caraymates that haven't been heard from for quite some time now.
