Here we have a remake of the 1979 Los Ricos También Lloran which starred Verónica Castro, Rogelio Guerra, and
Rocío Banquells. This new version will have Claudia
Martín and Sebastian Rulli as the lead ptrotagonists. It tells the story of
Mariana (Claudia), a humble and brave young woman who, after being left alone
and helpless, arrives in the life of Don Alberto Salvatierra (Guillermo García
Cantu), a business magnate and one of the wealthiest and
most powerful men in the country; Mariana makes quite an impression since she saves
his life. Mariana will meet Don Alberto’s son, Luis Alberto (Sebastian), one of
the most sought after bachelors, who, despite his arrogance and conceit, is
struggling with his own pain. But when he meets the beautiful Mariana he will
find true and honest love. Their story will be

What a disastrous lunch. Lolita was her haughty, condescending self with Diego who was respectful, nevertheless. She fawned over Paulina but was so, so rude to Sofia. Ignacio just looked afraid. How much further will Sebastian allow himself to be pushed before he speaks up??
Didn’t either Gladys or Mario consider that giving Melody the bear would poke the even bigger mama bear??? Let Melody get used to Gladys a bit before showering the child with presents.
Vilyeri and Brandon had a difficult conversation and Vilyeri was honest in showing how hurt she was. But rather than leaving in a snit, Vilyeri stayed and they talked through things. I don’t know what the one thing he had to promise her was, but they were smiling by the end of the discussion. By far my favorite couple.
So, Bonifacio’s daughter and Luis were e-mailing each other (blindly it seems)? Rather creepy.
Sour, surly Rene is growing angrier by the day.
Not sure what Gonzalo wants to do to Tyler, but it doesn’t sound good.

Diana, "Let Melody get used to Gladys a bit before showering the child with presents." Yeah, that would have been better, but mama bear Sofía is going to be hard to deal with in any case.
Rocío and Luis were "looking for love" at online dating sites, each lying quite a bit about their attractiveness, etc. More humorous than creepy I think, especially as they are both sitting close to each other, and a bit annoyed with each other, in Café Aura.
Sebastián's mother is quite the character, but Paulina seems to like her and also wants to get in her good graces as she hasn't given up on Sebastián. Ah, life. In Mexico City there are probably half a million guys who would love to romance Paulina but she's stuck on someone who's unlikely to ever be interested unless he is knocked off a horse on the road to Damascus.
And even then...
I have no idea what Gonzalo is up to. I'm hoping it's not as bad as all that.

Mexicana. Yep, Lolita is even worse than she seemed when we first met her. First all the embarrassing stories about Sebastian's childhood, then her cloying treatment of Paulina and nastiness to Diego and Sofia. I doubt very much if Sebastian will have the courage to tell her he's gay--at least for now. Rene is indeed getting even more abusive, and Gonzalo seems to be up to something that could get him put in jail--kidnapping Tyler. Diana: Viiyeri and Brandon agreed to meet at least 3 times a week--even if he and Megan are novios again. Dona Matilde and don Jaime Salvatore were hilarious, but I hope the online "romance" between Rocia and Luis ends soon. But maybe they'll both learn something useful from it. I'm glad that Bonifacio seems to be mellowing.
Mujer De Nadie #41 08/29/2022
We come back tonight to Casilda insisting that the baby hates her because she's not her daughter, she can't calm her down and she asks Lucia to take the baby away from her. Lucia leaves with Valentina (how adorable is that baby?!), Lucy tells Rafael that Casilda is having a crisis and he tells her he will deal with Casilda.
Rafael might be a creep but he's got such a calm energy about him. He talks to Casilda and tells her that she needs to get it together, if she keeps telling people that Vale is not her daughter Alejandra will use that to show she is mentally unstable, she needs to be cool, calm and collected if she wants to bring Ale down, he gives her a pill to calm down and leaves.
Lucia tells Rafa that perhaps they should call a doctor for Cailda but he tells her that Casi is dealing with postpartum depression and that she will be okay.
The next day Rafa and his thugs corner Isaura, Isaura has no choice but to give Rafael her cell phone so that he can get a copy of the will, Isaura has nowhere to go and has to beg her friend to take her in.
Gertrudis is having a worse time than Isaura, Heriberto has gone missing but she's afraid that he will come back and hurt her and Juventino. Pedro is providing bodyguard services and he makes it clear that he is doing so not for her but out of loyalty for Juventino who was always good to him, he also let's Gertrudis know that he sold her out to Lucia for a huge amount of money, Gertrudis says she hurt Lucia a lot. My connection on the app cut out so I missed this part but someone (Heriberto) broke into the house, hit Pedro over the head and killed Juventino. Gertrudis is so broke she can't afford a funeral so Rafa agrees to pay for it.

Mexicana. Btw, you'd think that by now Tyler would have figured out the difference between un and uno, 1st and 3rd person of the present tense in regular verbs and that most nouns that end in a are feminine. And I agree that his accent seems to be getting worse rather than better. Oh well.

Mujer De Nadie Parte 2
Paulina tells everyone that she is sick and that her illness is terminal, she then goes shopping for a wedding dress with Michelle, Michelle is a dumbass, and actually tells Pau that she's going to beat her terminal illness. Pau finds Fernando's prison diary where he writes to Lucia explaining why he did his best to keep her away from him while he was in prison.
Diego tells Rafael that he is going to the police station to correct his previous statement and to let them know that Rafa was not with him the night that Roxana died. Rafa tells him that if he does he will lose him as a partner and that would be a shame because with Pau being sick Diego is going to need his money in order to care for her. What a bastard.
Pilar tells Gabino that she has given a statement reaffirming that Casilda is the owner of everything Ale has, that along with the new found will should help Casilda get her fortune back, she's just sorry that she ruined things with Gabino. Gabino forgives her and his kids both come to accept her and tell her that it's good to have her back.
Casilda thanks Lucia for her help, she does not have it in her to evict Ale out of the house but she knows she needs to, she asks Lucy to go in her place and she has a message for Alejandra.
Fernando meets with Ale, he thanks her for her help but tells her there's nothing he can do about Lucia, she's not the same woman she once was and also he's getting married. Lucia shows up with an attorney and the police, she tells Ale she needs to get out, the attorney tells her all the back accounts will be frozen until they can determine who the cash belongs to, Ale says she has nowhere else to go to and Lucia tells her that Casilda will allow her to remain in the house as long as she meets certain conditions, Ale asks what those conditions are and Lucy tells her she will find out only after she agrees to stay in the house.

Mexicana. Andy, as I recall, Luis started looking for love online when it seemed as though Marcia had broken up with him forever. Later it seemed as if they would get back together, but I guess that after his "invasion" of the finca and his imprisonment at the mental institution, it's looking hopeless for him again.

Heriberto calls Lucia, he wants to give her a parting gift- information on Rafael, she asks how much he's going to ask for the information and he tells her that the information is free, although if she wants to return some of the money she took from him that would be nice, she agrees to meet him at a bar. After Lucia leaves the maid calls Rafael and tells him that Lucy is meeting up with a strange man.
Lucy arrives at the bar and calls the cops to tell them where they can find Heriberto, she does not know that Rafael knows she's at the bar and that he brought Gertrudis with him, he has also supplied her with a gun, and the promise of cash and a plane ticket.
Heriberto starts to spill the beans but before he can say anything that Lucy didn't know Gertrudis shows up and shoots him in the chest.
I told you guys, if your spouse shots you once there's probably a significant chance that they will do it again. Also, pro tip, if you're going to kill someone and hope to get away with it don't kill them in a bar full of people.

Even Ignacio’s well-intentioned efforts couldn’t stop Katya and Lolita’s first meeting from being a disaster. Running to shake Katya’s hand when Lolita wouldn’t and trying to inject some good will into the conversation was a sweet but futile gesture.
I think Lolita understands Sebastian and Diego’s relationship perfectly. And to no one’s surprise, Sebastian caves and keeps quiet. I think Diego’s done.
Megan doesn’t seem to have done anything wrong and other than being a bit spoiled seems rather nice. I don’t know what Vilyeri and Brandon are doing but Vilyeri on her knees was a bit much.
Sofia didn’t intend for Melody to fall down when she grabbed the bear but she certainly didn’t do anything to soothe the child. She literally assaulted Gladys who I was glad to see fought back. Then she drunkenly cries in her drink to Ignacio who is so, so nice. Opposites must truly attract.
Andrea did look spectacular in the last scene.

Gonzalo seems to have gone over to the Dark Side.
Lolita (what a name for this woman) is a real pill, but I think she adds some fun to an already fun novela. At least she's not as bad as the older couple in India who are suing their married son for not yet giving them a grandchild. This was reported as straight news though I don't know how seriously to take it.
Anyway, Katya gave as good as she got. At least.

Highlights:
• Gertrudis asks Lucía to leave Rafael's house because her life is in danger.
• Casilda surprises Lucía with her new look.
• Casilda returns home ready to take possession of what is hers, but is confronted by Alejandra.

I did laugh at the horror on Rocio's face when she realized who she'd been corresponding with. Too, too funny. And Luis, clueless as usual.
I don't like Lolita but someone has to be the catalyst to make Sebastian tell the truth. Eventually? I would say I hope Diego doesn't do anything foolish with Katya but right now, that's my biggest fear.

Mexicana. Marvelous comments as usual, Andy and Diana. Unfortunately, I missed the confrontation between Katya and Lolita. I'm sure it was hilarious, but Katya does deserve to know the truth about Diego. And speaking of hilarious, yep, Rocio now knows that "Adonis" is actually Luis. At least it should be a good lesson not to trust romantic interests one meets on line. It could have been someone much more dangerous. I hope this plot line is gone for good! Megan may have her good points (like loyalty to her friend Viiyeri), but it is certainly true that she and Brandon are not suited for each other. Good observation that Lolita either knows or suspects that Sebastian is gay. How many episodes until he works up the courage to tell her directly?

Rocio will be delighted with Diego's absence. When she hears of the fake wedding, she will rejoice thinking she has achieved a "spare" losing both Katya AND Diego. I'm sure that would mean nothing to her as I'm sure she's never played a game of bowling in her life. Shame.

Diana, I hadn't thought of it, but you are right, Lolita will be delighted to be rid of Diego.
Yes, she may well know that Sebastián is gay, but I think she could live with that as long as he doesn't "flaunt" it, and does marry some suitable woman with a proud family name, and hopefully produce some grandchildren.
It's a bit annoying that there is no show tonight, but in a way I'm getting used to mid-week breaks. And, after all, I survive weekends :-)
But I do want to see what Rocio does now, and of course I want to see more of our transformed Andrea.
And how Mario and Gladys weasel out of attending the dinner, or...?

I remember feeling torn at the end of Y mañana será otro día. Ximena's upside down San Antonio in the cupboard notably fell over just before the ending of the show, yet at the show's concluding dance party there was Ximena dancing alone. What to think of this?

I am laughing because I bought a few of my new fav apples at the grocery store yesterday... Cosmic crisp $1.99 a lb...because I have been stubbornly refusing to buy my fav apple Honey crisp for $2.99 a lb. I eat an apple everyday. When my bff tells me that I am not getting enough protein , I add a tablespoon of peanut butter mixed with a bit of honey as a dip.
I have never tried a Nikku, but I will look for them. I have had an Opal when the Honeycrisp went up to $2.99 a lb. I bought one of each variety in my grocery store, and I finally settled on Cosmic Crisp as my new fav.
My dad had a farm stand where he sold the potatoes and corn he grew and apples that we picked at the neighbors orchard . My favorite in those days were Jonathons...small, red, sweet, tart, crisp. I haven't seen that variety in many years as more and more new varieties appear .
