Thanks very much, deb, for the link to the article about La Reina del Sur 3. I wish they had provided a date rather than just "in October," but I guess that's not all that far from now. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't cast Alberto Jimenez as Oleg. He was amazing in the first season, and only some kind of serious accident prevented his returning in Season 2. Antonio Gil did a surprisingly good job as Oleg in Season 2, but I still hoped to see Alberto Jimenez return. Oh well....

OT/Caray Caray's Birthday

I'm only here for about 6 months, but I already LOVE this blog! The recaps are always well-written, the comments are spot on and the community is awesome! I come here more than 3 times a day (daily, of course) and I'm so happy I found this blog!
After a bit of searching, I found that the oldest post in here is in April 4, 2006. So I was thinking, should we make April 4th Caray Caray's birthday? This wonderful blog deserves one for sure.
Fun fact: It's also, coincidentally, a day before my birthday!
Fun Fact Número 2: Caray Caray is already 16 years old!

Amor Val

I was surprised that the show wasn't on last night . I hate the reality shows. Does anyone know if we will get an episode tonght?

amor-val

Hi everyone! I have been MIA for a variety of reasons, mainly that I became annoyed/bored with this dizi and took a break. I found myself mirroring the Theresa Mendoza approach of tossing down a few tequilas to steel myself to watch Sulky-AngryBangs Suhan. I did get caught up this weekend and last night since there wasn’t an episode.

Thank you very much Juanita, novelera and carmella for the great recaps. I was impressed carmella with your first (of hopefully many) recaps! I don’t have much to add to the great discussion, just wanted to say thank you.

La Reina del Sur

I have filled my brief non-working hours by taking the patios advice and pretty much binged watched the first season of La Reina del Sur. I LOVED it! I am now half-way through the second season and look forward to season 3!

Juanita, I am so with you about the disappointment of the season one Oleg actor not being in the second season. I have warmed up to second season Oleg, but I totally fell in love with first season Oleg.

novelera stated in a post a few weeks ago that La Reina de Sur was like watching a movie and it would be difficult to not stop watching. You were spot on novelera! I highly recommend watching this TN. Who would think a narco-drama would be so impactful and that I would be cheering for the bad guys and in this case gal?

General

Thanks, Weirdo, for your kind words. I am one of the veteranos who found the blog very early on. I found our founder's blog Pratie Place in which she was recapping Amor Real because I was obsessed with Amor Real and searched for things about it. Eventually Jane Pepper aka Melinama aka Chapel Hill Fiddler created Caray Caray to get the telenovela discussions in another place. Just to prove how faulty our memories are, I thought Alborada was the first one she recapped on Caray, but it was on her prior blog and in 2005. The sidebar has recaps and comments of Alborada in 2011, but it must have been a re-run. I'd be happy to celebrate a birthday of Caray, whenever it began!

Telemundo as a separate area of the blog came much later. I don't remember when.

VVS, I sort of envy you watching La Reina del Sur for the first time. Yes, we were all OBSESSED. Of course we had to wait another week to find out what happened! Many of us, Juanita especially, were worried that the second time around wouldn't be as good. The writers proved us mostly wrong. But I still found the location in Melilla and discovering how part of Spain was in Africa enchanting. I hope you loved (and mourned) Pote as much as the rest of us. And AMEN on the Oleg actor in the first season ... just FANTASTIIC.

amor-val

I'll put something up as a recap tonight.

amor-val

Susanlynn, the main page of Telemundo y Más carries a warning about Amor Valiente not being shown on Monday because of a 3-hour final gasp of La Casa de los Famosos. But yes, Amor Valiente will be shown tonight.

#53 – Part 1 of 3

Rehash of Friday’s episode Cesur tells Serhat that he’ll take him where he hid the gun (so as to escape). Riza convinces Turan to be his employee. Cesur points a gun at Serhat and then escapes. Riza tells Tahsin he wants the hotel and Mr. Tough Guy folds like a cheap suit. Riza, as usual is peering through the bushes and hears Suhan and Cesur talking about finding a key tag with an “A” on it.

Also on Friday they narrowed down who the kid must be. Suhan comes to see Ali’s mother. She sees his bicycle inside. The mother is very hostile and shuts the door in her face. Suhan leaves a business card.

Riza and Turan watch this visit by Suhan. This time it’s a car in the bushes instead of just Riza. Later on we find out Tahsin gave him a car.

Ugh! Banu comes to meet with Bulent. Instead of trying harder to win her back, he asks about where Cesur is. Viewerville grins at this rookie move, but he softens her up once again, telling her me gustas y mucho. He kisses her and she kisses him back.

Cehan are hiding out…somewhere. I don’t recognize where they are. She tells him she believes he didn’t kill Salih because, if he had, he’d have admitted it. They argue when Cesur tells her that Tahsin did it. She spends the night because he won’t let her go alone at that late hour. Considering her mood, I’m pretty sure there were separate beds involved.

Tahsin confronts Suhan when she comes home. He suspects she was with Cesur and gets in her face. Daddy Dearest then tells her he’ll report her to the police if she’s helping Cesur.

Turan grabs poor Ali off his bike and puts him in the trunk. [OK, I take back what I said about preferring him to Hulya to raise that fairly overweight baby.]

Sirin comes to see Suhan. She tells her that Reyhan is staying in town at least for a week. [We remember that Tahsin fired her because Salih wasn’t licking his boots any more.] Sirin tells her it was Riza who killed her father. [Well…he kinda did.]

Riza, getting pretty arrogant and full of himself now he’s a hotel owner, comes to see Tahsin. Riza tells him that the kid saw what happened, and he’ll fix it.

Sirin tells Suhan about the photos Riza had of her and calls him a sick puppy. She admits she didn’t tell her before because her father asked her to keep quiet. But now… Riza was threatening her father. Suhan tells her that she needs to tell Serhat everything she knows.

I’ll give Tahsin this much credit. He doesn’t want anything to happen to the boy. Riza tells him the plan. The old guy they keep calling “the beggar” is with the boy. He’ll call the boy’s mother and tell her not to call the police. The woman is to call Cesur and ask him to come to her house. When Cesur is grabbed up by the police, Riza will make sure the mother and her child go far, far away.

#53 – Part 2 of 3

Sirin tells Serhat that her father was going to tell Riza he wasn’t going to be a part of it any longer. And he was killed that same day.

Suhan tells Serhat she hasn’t seen Cesur. He looks at her quizzically and reminds her there’s a severe punishment for aiding a fugitive.

Ali’s mother calls Suhan. [She had the card Suhan left.] She says that her son wants to talk to Cesur. Suhan is suspicious how quickly the mother’s attitude has changed, but Cesur doesn’t want her to come along.

A hotel employee is charmed by Suhan. He tells her that the police came for Riza. The guy can’t stand Riza and is more than happy to let Suhan into his room. She searches and finds a disc in one of the drawers.

Turan makes the call to the police about a Cesur sighting in Kordulag.

While being interviewed Riza pretends surprise that Sirin would have said such a thing. He swears he doesn’t know Salih and that he thinks Sirin isn’t “normal”.

The trap almost works, but Cesur again runs from the cops who are there at Ali’s house to catch him.

Speaking of Ali, he outsmarts the old guy by saying he has to pee. The old guy unties him and they go outside. Ali bites him and runs.

Cesur is shot in the arm (much better than the last time he was shot) but stays well ahead of the cops. Suhan just happens to be driving by (probably because she didn’t listen to him when he told her not to come to the boy’s house) and he jumps in the car.

Speaking of just happening by, Mihriban is driving by when Ali flags her down. She gets him into the back seat, and then she bashes the old guy a couple of times with her umbrella.

Car chase! The cops are after Cehan. Suhan notices he’s been shot and wants to take him to the hospital. [Doesn’t she know these galanes always say it’s nothing and refuse treatment?]

Ali and Mihriban are in Serhat’s office when his mother rushes in. Very indignant, she says those rotten guys kidnapped Ali to shut him up. “Whoever killed that man also kidnapped Ali!”

Some forensic guy tells Serhat that the bullet embedded in the tree was the one that killed Salih, and the blood was also his.

Tahsin rails at Riza for the kid having escaped, calling him a bungling fool.

#53 – Part 3 of 3

Serhat charms Ali into telling him what happened. [This is something that would have been a lot harder for Cihan Sadoglu to pull off.] They determine that the crime happened between 3:30 PM when school let out and 4:15 when Ali came home.

We get another rather hackneyed TN/dizi scene where Hulya overhears Cahide talking on the phone with Turan about his changing his mind about coming for the baby. Hulya looks pretty scary and keeps edging Cahide closer to some stairs. She falls down them. But there’s only two steps and I doubt she’ll lose the baby.

I still don’t know where Suhan and Cesur are hiding out. But she pulls out the disc and they watch it. [I was very disappointed it wasn't the one where Tahsin shoots Salih, but I guess it's too soon for that reveal.]

On this disc we see Salih saying that Tahsin will come running when he hears Adalet has been kidnapped. He pulls a lever and the bottom of the metal box (which is close to the ground and not raised up yet) opens. [Caras impactadas de Cehan.] Suhan: “It wasn’t my father!” [She’s so happy about this that she doesn’t draw the obvious conclusion. If Riza had the disc, then he must have been there doing the recording.]

The police arrive at their hideaway. Cesur doesn’t want Suhan charged with anything and puts a gun to her head (after ejecting all the bullets). He opens the door and confronts all the blue and red flashing lights and Serhat.

Serhat tells him he doesn’t have to run from the law any more. “We know who did it. We found the boy. Because of what he saw, we know what time it happened. According to security cameras, you weren’t anywhere near that shooting."

Another flashback. Ali looks at some photos. “Who did you see?” He’s shown pictures of Tahsin, Riza, and Cesur. [I thought police mug shots were supposed to show a lot more so the victim isn’t led to the wrong conclusion.]

Cesur and Suhan ask who killed Salih. Ha! We see Mean Daddy in a cell once again, swearing revenge and coughing.

This happy moment is weakened somewhat by Serhat saying that the child couldn’t see clearly, only that it was an old man, the one nearest to that in the photos. Suhan reverts to type and sticks up for Mean Daddy. Cesur says that he doesn’t know about Salih, but TK didn’t kill his mother. Salih set a trap to try to blame him for her murder. Suhan gives Serhat the disc and tells him that Riza had it.

Riza loses a bit of his cool demeanor when he finds that the disc is missing from his room.

Thanks very much, novelera, for another terrific recap, complete with humor and commentary, starting with "Mr. Tough Guy folded like a cheap suit."

Yeah, I guess Turan isn't much of a bargain, given his nastiness in kidmapping the boy. I noticed that a dog watched as Turan grabbed the boy. I wondered whether we were going to have the dog be the one to identify Turan as the kidnapper.

Tahsin once again shows signs of having a few shreds of decency when he heatedly tells Riza not to hurt the boy, and, indeed, threatening to kill him if anything happens to the boy. It's still a bit much, however, to imagine that he'll be redeemed.

I'm glad Sirin told Suhan about Riza's Suhan Scrapbook. I don't recall whether she also told the DA. She should.

Good point about Suhan being so pleased at having found the video and seeing that her father wasn't involved in the death of Cesur's mother that she didn't realize that Riza must have been present to film the scene. Like you, I was disappointed that it wasn't the video of Salih's being shot. However, the video of the premeditated murder plan really shows a worse crime than Salih's murder, which was almost accidental.

When Suhan wanted to take Cesur to the hospital to have his bullet wound treated, she says, "I don't want to lose you." That's the strongest positive thing she's said in several episodes.

Yes, Cahide's fall is definitely a hackneyed TN/dizi occurrence. I can't decide whether the dizi creators were admitting that when they focused almost ludicrously on Cahide's feet as she kept moving backwards.

I confess I really enjoyed the scene where Mihriban hits the old man multiple times with her umbrella. That plus the boy's escaping by bitting him. Too bad she couldn't have given Turan a few whacks as well. Riza, of course, deserves a lot worse than bites and whacks. I hope he'll get what he deserves.

OT

That's great, Novelera! This wonderful blog deserves a birthday for sure!

Amor Val

Thank you novelera for the recap and rehash. Yup, Mean daddy folded, and is probably gonna do more folding where Riza is concerned, so he’d better get good at it. Unless he calls Riza’s bluff about the video, and pays someone to off Riza, he’s going to be Riza’s dancing puppet on a string for the rest of his miserable life. Not that Mean daddy doesn’t deserve what he’s getting, but with the criminal element, there always seems to be one worse than the other, and in this case it’s Riza……imho.

I know Cesur is desperate for some leads, but going to Ali’s house was a stupid move. He shoulda sent Rifat or Kemal before walking into that trap, which had trap written all over it. Why would a child “only” speak to Cesur—— someone he doesn’t know about a crime that he really knows nothing about, except for what he saw happen between two men? Plus, doesn’t everyone in that one horse town know who Tahsin Korludag is, and what he looks like!?!? Hell, it’s his town! Had to suspend a little belief on these roads where there are no other drivers except our main characters and the police….hmmmmm…..

I was also very happy to see, and hear Suhan——FINALLY—— showing love and supporting Cesur unconditionally. But then she goes and spoils it all by her overwhelming relief that her father didn’t do it, while Cesur had to watch in detail how his mother was killed. And yes! Wasn’t there someone on the other end of that video????? Duh, duh, duh, duh-duh!

Loved Mirhiban in action! She is truly one of my favorites in this dizi! Her son is a real Beavis and Butthead though, and really doesn’t deserve someone like Banu. She’s honest and doesn’t play dirty, while he wallows in the pigpen——happily. I don’t know how they’ll reconcile her integrity with his dishonesty and crookedness though. And yay to Ali! Smart boy!

The two chicken heads continue to get on my nerves! They both need to go over that same cliff as Mean daddy and Riza———once the baby is born of course, lol…….

Amor-val

Thanks for the recap, novelera.

The #Ceshan hideout was explained in the Turkish. The house belongs to a friend Cesur had in France. The friend rarely uses the house now. And you are right, Ceshan didn’t sleep together.

In the Turkish little Ali said he had to go to the bathroom, but it wasn’t because he had to pee. The kid was smart.

How convenient: Suhan and Mihriban drive by at the right time and make pickups… lol

Juanita, lol, “I wondered whether we were going to have the dog be the one to identify Turan as the kidnapper.” Made me laugh because I thought of how important scent is to the Turks.

carmella, Mihriban is also one of my favorite characters. Chicken heads going over the cliff with Tahsin and Riza sounds like a good idea.

OT

VVS, we will see you on the LRDS patio in October!

Weirdo, a birthday celebration for Caray sounds great.

OT..Dondi, I watched " Another Self." The plot was a bit " woo woo" , but the acting and scenery was excellent .It made me think of my EST friends and our life journeys. I didn't see any familiar faces except for Tuba and the guy who played her husband Selem , but I couldn't figure out where I bad seen him before .

OT...I know some of you love " Reina" , bjt I watched a bit of the first season , and it seemed so dark that I just couldn't get into it.

amor-val

Excellent recap novelera! I enjoyed Riza jumping into the back seat of the new car to have Turan drive him around like a big Whig! Suhan’s UMS (ugly mood swings) really get on my nerves.

Serhat is definitely more charming that Cihan S. ever was!

Thanks for explaining a lot what I missed dondi356, especially about that hideout house. I had no idea where that was.

La Reina del Sur

Yes, novelera, I cried when Pote died and cheered when others died in that same episode. Did I understand your post correctly that the first season of LRDS was a weekly show and not 5 days a week? If so, that would have been hard to wait a full week between episodes.

I liked the handsome Moroccan Coronel a lot more after he really starting helping Teresa with no ill intent. It is Oleg that is a stalwart character.

Susanlynn, I think you should try watching again. The first few episodes are a bit dark but it really picks up with action and less killing (at least for a while).

dondi356, I plan to be on the Patio, with my tequila bottle and shot glasses awaiting LRDS III in October. Like I mentioned yesterday, I am half-way through the second season right now, trying to decide if I love or hate Lupo.

General

VVS, I must have been in a fog when I wrote that about once a week. Of course LRDS was on 5 nights a week.

OT La Reina del Sur

VVS, did you know Kate Del Castillo has her own tequila brand, “Tequila Honor Del Castillo”? That's what Teresa drinks, of course.

OT

Yes, I did know that, and that the tequila she drinks during LRDS2 was her own brand. Nice touch, that!

OT La Reina del Sur

Oh glad to know you were not waiting for an episode a week novelera! That would have been horrible. I keep straying to my Netflix app with any extra time I have during the day!

dondi356, I had no idea that Kate Del Castillo has her own brand of tequila! That is way cool and I am going to have to look for it to try it out! I will keep an eye out in the next episode to see if I can catch what the bottle and label looks like!

OT – Susanlynn - Another Self, LRDS

“woo-woo” is a good way to describe Another Self. That was “Family Constellations Therapy”. Of course, I had to look it up. Very interesting. I know a few of the actors in this one besides Tuba: Zaman, Muko, Toprak and Fiko. The one you know, Selim, is Bulent in Amor Valiente! The trailer didn’t look too promising, but I watched for Tuba. It was better than I expected and don’t regret watching. I haven’t heard if there will be a second season.

Teresa Mendoza, La Reina del Sur, is a legend on the Telemundo patio. I understand if it’s not your kind of TN. But the cast, the writing and directing, the locations and the cinematography are amazing. It’s much more than a narco-novela.

Maybe you would enjoy watching a Turkish rom-com. They’re not without dramatic elements but they are far from dark. I can recommend “Full Moon” (Dolunay), starring the handsome Can Yaman. It’s on YouTube with English Subtitles. My mother has watched this one multiple times!

OT

Thanks for posting about Another Self, dondi. I watched the first episode and thought it was well done. Guess it hadn't gotten all that "woo woo" in the first epi. My problem is always not having enough time to get back to things I start on Netflix. I also try to find time for watching the San Francisco Giants and/or The Golden State Warriors, depending on the season of those respective teams. The Warriors were must-see TV this time around; the Giants not so much. But the Giants still have a place in my heart, especially after winning it all in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

I could barely recognize "Bulent"!

OT

Susalynn, I’m enjoying the Turkish rom-com “Erkenci Kus” (Pajaro Sonador) also with the very handsome and yummy Can Yaman. It is on Dailymotion with English subs. I also saw Full Moon and liked it.

I also tried to get into La Reina, but couldn’t no matter how much I tried. I know it has a large fan base, and I have coworkers who loved and raved about it. Not my cup of tea either, and I ABSOLUTELY love kick azz women!

amor-val

I'll have a relatively brief recap up later tonight.

OT - Caray Caray's birthday

dondi, that's great! Thanks!

Episode #54 p 1 of 2

Riza is quite upset that the video disc is missing. He apparently examines the hotel's security camera footage and sees Suhan being given entry to his room. He then summons the hotel employee who let Suhan in and fires him. He also informs the employee's boss that Tahsin Korludag (TK) no longer owns the hotel, he--Riza--does. After the hotel people leave, Riza tells Turan "Cesur is going to start bothering me."

Cesur is talking with the DA about the video. The DA informs him that it can't be entered as evidence because it was stolen. Cesur is annoyed that people involved in the murder of his mother are still free. The DA recites the long list of offenses that Cesur has been accused of, and he's still free. Perhaps annoyed with Cesur's insistence, the DA tells him that he's going to spend the night in jail and then go before the judge. (Huh??)

Riza meets with the old man who stayed with the boy Ali until he escaped. The old man tells Riza that he buried the gun that killed Salih in Cesur's backyard, as Riza instructed him. Riza says the police failed to find the gun, and there's now a change of plans. The old man should take the gun to where they held the boy. Yes, the old man will be arrested, but if he does exactly what Riza says, he'll have all the money he has ever dreamed of. His children will enjoy happy futures. The old man asks, "How much money?" Riza replies, "As much as you want. TK will pay anything to save his neck."

Cesur is placed in the same cell as TK. He tells TK that he hasn't forgiven him for all the things TK did, but he now knows that TK didn't kill his mother.

We see a flashback where Riza threatens TK. "If I burn, you will, too." Then, in the present, we see TK tell Cesur that it was Salih, not Riza, who killed his mother. Cesur is suspicious. "Why are you suddenly protecting Riza? Obviously, you're hiding something," he tells TK. Then TK has a bad coughing fit and passes out. They call for an ambulance to take him to the hospital.

Cahide is already in that same hospital (of course), having tripped and fallen down a few steps. Korhan comes to see her. "I was scared for both of you," he tells her. He agrees that she can stay with him. This woman, who has told lie after lie, agrees to go back with him on one condition: "You won't lie to me again." (!!!)

Korhan leaves Cahide's room and sees Suhan, who tells him that their father fainted and was brought here.

Cesur is now free. Banu warns him to do nothing to provoke the DA, and definitely do not go near Riza.

Riza is back in the DA's office. The DA points out that Riza claimed he didn't know Salih, and then he holds up the video disc. "This was in your room." "What is it?" asks Riza. The DA asks him, "You think you've been framed again?" Riza asks, "What evidence do you have that the CD is mine? Someone could have put it in my room."

Cesur returns home and finds Sirin and Kemal waiting for him. He greets them warmly. They seem relieved. Sirin asks Cesur whether he thinks her father really killed Cesur's mother. Cesur replies yes, either by himself or working with or for someone else. Sirin is upset.

Cahide is now at Korhan's. She tells him that she found bloodstains on TK's clothes. Korhan asks whether she told this to the police. "No! He's my father-in-law, and I'm no rat." Korhan dismisses the matter as not important.

As Riza planned, the police arrest the old man who was involved in the kidnapping of the boy who witnessed Salih's death. The gun that killed Salih was found (as planned) on the old man's property. The police call Mihriban to identify the man.

Ep. #54 p. 2 of 2

Suhan is still sitting in the hospital. A nurse tells her that the doctor wants to see her. When she emerges from the doctor's office, she looks very worried, almost in shock.

Cesur asks Sirin to tell him what she knows about Riza. We don't hear what she says, but she apparently tells him about her encounter with Riza, and about the many pictures of Suhan that Riza has accumulated. Cesur is furious and vows to kill Riza. Sirin pleads with him not to do anyting.

Suhan comes to see her father, who is in bed at the hospital. She tells him the doctor told her his blood pressure is very high, but it's not serious, so he shouldn't worry. TK seems uninterested in what the doctor said. What concerns him is whether Salih's killer has been found. (Someone should bring TK a mirror.)

Banu comes. She tells Cesur that they've found Salih's killer. He confessed. Perhaps the boy was confused and identified TK because he and the old man are similar in age.

TK is told that they've found Salih's killer. And the doctor said that TK could leave the hospital whenever he wanted, as long as he's feeling well.

Cesur is very upset that the old man has been arrested for Salih's murder. "That man worked for Riza!" Cesur insists to the DA. "Something's not right" (indeed, tonight's episode is entitled Algo no cuadra). The DA is losing patience with Cesur. He tells him that if he makes one more mistake, he'll be arrested.

Korhan's company holds a board meeting, with Cesur, Mihriban, and Bulent, as well as a lawyer who apparently needs to be present. Mihriban makes an announcement before the meeting: she is running for mayor. She will be hosting an event, and she says they'll also hold the auction (subasta). I found the whole business about the auction somewhat confusing.

TK and Suhan are at the table about to eat dinner. TK gets a call from Bulent. He goes into another room and tells Bulent not to count his chickens before they're hatched. "Let's win the auction first." He asks Bulent what will be the opposition's offer. "How much are they willing to pay for that crappy piece of land?" (What piece of land are they talking about? And what if anything does this have to do with the election?) Bulent responds, and TK is surprised. "We'll have to offer a lot more money."

Mihriban calls Korhan to inform him that TK "has made an offer in our auction. His company is now in the running." Korhan says "Let him participate. He can't offer more money than we will." Mihriban says he's right, TK is always stingy in business. But you shouldn't count him out."

Riza knocks at TK's door. Suhan greets him with "How dare you come to this house?" Riza shows he has brought flowers. TK comes to the door and tells Riza "Get out!" He closes the door. Riza leaves the flowers outside the door and leaves.

Turan surprises Hulya with a visit. Hulya tells him TK will not permit him to take the baby. Turan replies, "My boss already has TK in his power." A horn beeps and Turan leaves.

Cesur wants Banu to arrange for him to make a prison visit. He wants to talk to the old man who Sirin thinks is taking the fall for Riza. Cesur asks Sirin, "Why would Riza want your father killed? He didn't even know him." Sirin is worried that Riza might attack Suhan, just as he did her. Kemal overhears this conversation and drives off to find Riza. Cesur goes after him in his car.

Kemal finds Riza and attacks him. He's no match for Riza AND Turan. But then Cesur arrives and gets into the fight. But the police also arrive, and Cesur is warned to let Riza go and leave him alone. DA's orders. "One wrong step and you go to prison." And with that, the episode ends.

Amor Val

Thank you Juanita for another great and satisfying recap! I’m getting disappointed in our psychic DA. No matter what evidence he does or doesn’t have, the murders and who’s ultimately behind them, can only point to a few major players. Of course, Cesur didn’t have his own mother killed, and whoever killed Salih was either behind the camera, or close enough to him to lure him into the woods. Yeah the death was accidental, that much is true, but the DA doesn’t seem to be taking enough action to investigate what’s in front of his face. He’s also taken a page outta Suhan’s book, in saying that Cesur was first always blaming Mean daddy, now it’s Riza. At the very least, Riza and Mean daddy should be followed and placed under surveillance. I can see the DA giving Mean daddy the benefit of the doubt, but Riza! Gimme a break!

My teeth, gums, and tongue wanted to fall right outta my head when Cahide told Korhan that in order for her to come back home with him, he had to be “honest,” and tell no more lies!” Like what the blazing hell Cahide!! Who’s been more dishonest, and lied more than your chicken head butt! You and your squawking partner in crime have done some heinous BS to Korhan, pure and simple! And as much, as I get Korhan’s concern for his child, he should’ve made Cahide promise the same and more! How soon we forget when there’s a crisis in this dizi!

It’s totally time for Cesur to let cooler heads prevail. When you play in the mud with psychos, you gotta pull a Hannibal Lechter on their azzes. At this point everyone knows that Cesur is beyond angry and can fly off the handle in a second! Everybody else can commit a crime, but as soon as Cesur has his hands around Riza’s neck, the cops are there faste than running water! It’s time for Cesur to start thinking again and not acting off of his adrenaline. There’s nothing more lethal or complete than Cesur when he’s on his game. Please Cesur, teach Kemal how to fight!

I know that Bulent gets a pass because he’s Mirhiban’s son, but I can’t wait until they figure out that he’s a mole——- on top of all his other great qualities. It will hurt Mirhiban, I’m sure, but she really needs to see her son for who he is…..

I don’t know why I ever thought that Turhan the turd was good looking! He’s getting uglier and uglier along with Riza the rat. This dizi is really taking Riza’s thinking and technical ability farther than what’s believable, imho, but I guess it’s moving the story along. Looks like his thing for Suhan is about to get heavier………

OT....Dondi, I thought Selem in Another Self might be Bulent ( autocorrect just changed the name to Bummer) , but he was so much better in AS that I doubted myself . He also looked a bit like one of the bad rich boys in Fatmagul (still my favorite telenovela\dizi ever...even surpassing my first TN and favorite for many years Alborado). I am watching 2 shows on Uni ....I had a student from Dominican Republic who was constantly correcting my pronunciation of Uni vision . " Herencia " which takes place on an avocado ranch so I grudgingly bought three small avocados for $5 yesterday ...and " Mujer De Nadie" which has a brothel , a lottery shop, and lots of villains . I might return to Kurulus Osman.

OT Carmella, so I am not the only one hesitant about Reina. I prefer romance and galans . is Daily Motion a safe place to watch dizis? May I recommend " Fatmagul" which Dondi recommended and which pushed me down the Turkish dizi rabbit hole of distraction . The lead actor Engin is excellent . Also anything with Burak Ozcivit is great .

Wait? What ? Juanita, thank you for that excellent recap with all the dizzying details of this dizi. We should have kept score of how many times some of these characters have gone to jail or the hospital. ..Cesar , Riza, Tah. That poor old guy is taking the fall again to ensure his children's futures.

Tah seems to be coughing more and more . He has been in and out of jail and the hospital many times. At this point , you would think this old hombre would be at the beginning of his end and want to make amends for all the wrongs he has done. However, I guess he will "not go softly into that dark night " and is continuing to * rage at the dying of the light." Does the lying liar who lies now believe all the lies he has told? Will the truth ever be revealed ? Riza has turned out to be as awful and evil as Tah. Meanwhile, everyone seems to have forgotten Adalet .

And what is up with Korhan's sudden change of attitude as he threatens Hulygan if anything happens to wifey and baby . So....Korhan and Cahide are back together . I do not care.

Have they edited out scenes ? What land are they talking about at what auction ?

Suddenly , Kemel leaves to confront Riza, who is aided by oblivious new minion Turan , and then Cesar joins the fray. Rinse and repeat . Back to jail? There should be a revolving door . This show seems to now be jumping multiple sharks . Where are the writers heading ? How will they end things ? I want Cesar and Sullen Suhan to be together for the baby . I want Sirin and Kemel to have a baby and some R and R from all the drama that has swirled around them. I want Tah and Riz gone. The rest of these people...do not care.

Daily motion has been around since 2005. It’s a French based streaming company. I have watched other shows on it, and haven’t had a problem. That being said, investigate if you do decide to watch any of their programming. Also, the do have ads, but I’m sure that there’s a way to get around them if you join or something. I choose not to. They also have a Daily motion app. Erkenci Kus episodes are long though, about 2 hrs each, and you can’t ffw without messing up the video as a whole. It’s a darn good rom com though!

It’s also on Unimas in Spanish in the afternoons, but they’re well into the story…….

OT

I've watched things on Dailymotion and I haven't had a problem either.

I started Erkenci Kuş when it aired in Turkey but I didn't have enough time to continue. Maybe someday I'll get back to it. I think Can Yaman is the king of the Turkish rom-coms.

Maybe this was clearer in the Turkish: Serhat reminded Cesur he took a gov’t official hostage and said he would be held in custody before his hearing because he’s a proven escape risk. Cesur should have kept his mouth shut.

There have been edits. Not 100% sure what Telemundo has or has not shown as I’m not following it so closely.

Regarding the land and “auction”, Korhan is looking to expand the business. There was a cut scene where he met Mihriban at a large open field. He told her he wanted to buy it. That’s when Mihriban told him Cesur had escaped, and he made a call to Suhan. Suhan was at the school asking about Ali and didn’t take the call.

In the Turkish, it doesn’t translate it as “auction”. They say they are making a “tender”. So IIRC, there will be a sealed bid for the purchase of the land. Obviously, Tahsin wants it and Bulent is his inside man to help screw Korhan and Co.

Did they show Mihriban visiting Tahsin in his cell? She told him she is the reason he’s behind bars because she found the child. Their verbal sparring is always entertaining.

They edited out Mihriban coming home to discover Bulent and Banu had makeup sex that didn’t make it to the bedroom. Clothes and shoes were all over the living room. Bulent fumbled to get his t-shirt on and Banu comes walking in wearing Bulent’s button down. A little awkward. As Mihri laughs and runs up the stairs, she tells them that Tahsin is in jail and Cesur is innocent. Great news for Banu, not so great for Bulent. But at least that unsightly bulge in his pants is gone for now.

They edited the breakfast scene the next morning with Bulent and Mihri. She brought up his sexcapade with Banu. He was embarrassed. Mihri says there’s nothing wrong with it, she understands because she is a “modern woman”. Gotta love Mihri.

Hope this helps.

Oops... I meant to thank you Juanita for your fine recap!

Terrific recap of the jump all over the place episode Juanita! I needed your great recap to keep up. I was like Huh? too when the DA said Cesur was going to prison. Thanks to dondi356, it made a little bit more sense.

Banu and Bulent, ugh. That girl is desperate. Mirihban made me laugh with her reaction to finding those two in disarray. Seriously, get your own house or room!

I don’t have too much time to comment (I want to squeeze in another episode of LRDS II during lunch). Thank you so much Juanita! I always enjoy your recaps!

Thanks so much dondi356! Yes, they’ve edited a lot! I do go to the “Bolum’s” to see what I’ve missed, but of course I don’t understand what they’re saying……that’s why it’s so easy for me not to get ahead of TM’s episode. I’m a Mirhi fan for life, lol!

OT

I also started Fatmagul when it was on in the mornings, but work made it hard to keep up, and I don’t DVR….. The story drew me in from the git-go, and I do plan to watch it in its entirety

MANY thanks, carmella, Susanlynn, and dondi356, for your delightful and very helpful comments.

Carmella, I LOVED your saying "My teeth, gums, and tongue wanted to fall right outta my head when Cahide told Korhan that in order for her to come back home with him, he had to be “honest,” and tell no more lies!”" I wish I had thought of something like that. All I could manage was a string of exclamation points. Oh well.... As for Turan, yes, he does seem less attractive, in part because he's so much scruffier than before. Cesur does scruffy very well, but Turan does not. But even with Cesur, I prefer the non-scruffy look. And yes, for quite a while now, the dizi has endowed Riza with much more ability--especially tech ability--than I find believeable in someone who has spent 30 years in prison and pretty much isolated.

Susanlynn, I loved your idea of keeping score of how many times some of these characters have gone to jail or the hospital. Sounds like the making of a good drinking game! I also enjoyed "Rinse and repeat . Back to jail? There should be a revolving door." And I'm glad that you too found confusing the business about the land purchase and the auction. Apparently they DID edit out scenes, as dondi356's comment makes clear.

Dondi356, thanks VERY VERY much for your extremely helpful explanations, both about the land and the auction, and about several deleted scenes. Telemundo seems to have cut almost everything you said involving Mihriban. I don't think they showed her visiting TK in his cell, and they certainly omitted her coming home and finding Bulent and Banu. And since they cut all that, they also edited the breakfast scene, as you said.

Amor Val

I dont appreciate the slicing and dicing . I would have enjoyed seeing Mir walking in on Banu and Bulent after amor. Mir seems to take everything and everybody in stride . I'd vote for her as mayor. Mayor Mir sounds good . Most parents do not want to think about their kid's sex lives and vice versa, but Mir is the cool, modern mom . Whatever. At least we now know that Banu and Bulent are doing it thanks to Dondi telling us about that edited scene . We can all sleep better tonight now that we know that Banu is over Cesar ....ha ...no she's not.

I wonder if Tah's anvil will be succumbing to whatever illness is giving him that nasty cough and breathing problem. Instead, or being eaten by coyotes or jailed for life ,perhaps his health will be his anvil. I don't think I have ever seen a villain with so many health issues. The truth has to come out before he goes one way or another so that sullen , unbelieving Suhan will finally believe Cesar about how evil her dad is .

Really, really late to the party. Juanita, that was a FANTASTIC recap! Your descriptions were spot on. I was right there with you about subasta confusion.

Thanks so much, dondi, for filling in the blanks about what that land purchase is really about. Sealed bids makes a lot of sense. ¡Ójala Cesor and Korhan win the bid for the land. So...TK got kicked out of his company. So...where is all his money coming from. He signed over everything to Cesur.

The scene where Riza comes to Casa Korludag was interesting with its insights into Riza's self-esteem issues. He arrives in the back seat of the car TK gave him. He insists on Turan posing as "his driver" and opening the door for him. Turan thinks no one will see this, but he still insists. He marches up to the door with his bouquet. He's treated like a low-life beggar by both Suhan and TK. This had to burn.

Gah! Banu! Where's your good taste? You've changed your affections from blue-eyed Thor (thanks, susanlynn) to a weak-chinned suck up. I'll be pissed if she ends up with him, especially because he's conspiring against Cesur. While Cesur doesn't love her, they've always been close.

I think TK is toast. Suhan rightly thinks he can't handle the news and is keeping it from him. I think they're going with what I hated when I first suspected it...a medical problem instead of falling off a cliff with Riza or, my real favorite, in jail for the rest of his life.

Yes, Kemal needs some fighting lessons.

I forgot to mention that I had high hopes Chickenhead (thanks, carmella) Cahide would have left that bloodstained jacket in the hamper. However, she told MD that she "cleaned" it. That in itself was odd. Who puts a man's suit jacket in the washing machine? I suppose there could somehow be traces of blood left, but I doubt it. Why did they even bring up that drop of blood and then Cahide telling Korhan about it if it's going nowhere.

I will put up a recap tonight.

Amor Val

Spot on assessment of Riza’s “self-esteem” issues novelera. We don’t know his whole back story, but obviously rejection is a sore spot with him that’s probably eating up his rotten soul. Nothing has to hurt more than his sister’s rejection, but Suhan thinking that he’s nothing but trash, also has to hurt. He’d love to be seen better in her pretty eyes……but you’re going about it the wrong way Riza! You’re dirty to the undertips of your fingernails, and consistently dirty hands grosses people out……not that you care…..just sayin……
