Thanks very much, novelera, for your perceptive and helpful comments. I'm relieved to know that you, too, found the subasta business confusing. And, like you, I'm delighted that dondi356 came to the rescue.

I also thought you raised a very good point about Riza's self-esteem issues. Thanks for mentioning his absurd insistence on Turan getting out of the car to open the door for him. What's next--kissing his ring?

Gotta run.

#55 – Parte 1 de 3

I must say that the song that begins this dizi is the only one I usually listen to all the way through without FF>> through the recording.

After Kemal’s beatdown, the cop tells Cesur to let Riza go. And he does so. But he gets close to him before he leaves and tells him that he may be hiding behind someone, but he won’t get away from him (Cesur).

Riza comes to see Adalet at the prison. She tells him that TK told him to leave them in peace; why is he here? “Your husband angered me yesterday [the confrontation at the front door of Casa Korludag]. He needs a lesson, and you’ll be the one to give it to him." He tells her to cut off all contact with TK or it will be the last she ever sees of him.

There’s some rather odd scene in an auditorium where the sealed bids for the land are announced from the stage. Some random company offers 200,000,000 pesos. [if Mexican pesos are used, this is $179,322; if dollars are used to convert to Turkish lira, it’s over $3 billion. Bottom line, I don’t know how much 200 million is meant to be. The announcer drones on. Korludag has offered 300 million. Korhan chortles, counting his chickens. The guy says that Tahsin Korludag has offered 300,500 million. [This offer is just right because of Bulent’s spying.]

Korhan loses it. Outside the room he tells his father that it was a trick. “You found out our offer amount!” TK; “The wolf can move to another cave, but he keeps his habits.” Bulent actually looks a bit ashamed. [He should; he’s conspiring against his own mother. Banu…wake up!]

Cesur has come to meet the old beggar in a private room, with a guard there as well. “I am Cesur, the son of the woman your friend Salih killed. I am sure you are innocent. You said you were guilty for money. If you tell the truth, you’ll be released, and I’ll protect you. Who did this? Riza? The same thing happened to him. He took the blame, served 30 years, and the man he saved tried to kill him when he got out.” The guy isn’t convinced and asks the guard to take him back to his cell.

Riza talks with Turan, who I guess still has prison contacts. Turan tells Riza that Cesur met with the old man and confused him. Now the guy wants more money and a better lawyer. Riza: "Llegó la hora que el ruiseñor deje de cantar." [It’s time the nightingale stopped singing.] Riza wants Turan to find some prisoner who will kill the old man.

Tahsin and Suhan arrive at the party to inaugurate Mihriban’s candidacy for mayor. Cesur approaches, and he and TK are civil. Suhan looks beautiful and has her hair in partial cornrows. Cesur looks at her like she’s the last bottle of water in the desert.

Mihriban and TK exchange their usual smiling insults. She tells him it wouldn’t be a party without the clown.

#55 – Parte 2 de 3

Cesur spies Riza at a table. He asks Suhan if he’s been bothering her. He confronts her with her not having told him about Riza’s Suhan Scrapbook and that Sirin did so. Suhan tells him that Riza gives her escalofrios (the creeps or sends shivers down her spine). She mentions his disagreeable smile. She tells Cesur about Riza showing up at Casa Korludag. Cesur is prevented from confronting Riza by Serhat showing up. Cesur snarks at Serhat that he has an obsession with arresting him. Cesur asks Mihriban if she invited Riza. She replies that she did not, but she doesn’t want the fuss about throwing him out to happen until she announces her candidacy

Bulent and Banu are there as a couple.

Ugh! Riza approaches Suhan and tells her that such a beautiful woman should not look sad. She ought to smile. “Get away from me or you’ll be thrown out!” He replies that it’s time that TK died.

Cesur tells some guys to eject Riza after Mihriban’s speech. Suhan has gone outside and looks upset. Cesur asks her what Riza said to her. She replies that she wants to leave. Once they’re in the car, she says she wants to go to the Nisantasi house. [Finally looked this up! It’s in an upscale part of Istanbul.]

When hotel security tries to throw Riza out, he gets up, uses a microphone and says something about being the host. He mentions his brother-in-law, the one who married his sister, the one who’s now in prison for a crime for which he served 30 years. “My dear brother-in-law gave me this hotel. As the new owner, I’m proud to host you all.” Then he fires the two security guys.

At the Nisantasi house Suhan tells Cesur that her father is dying of a rare disease. They haven’t told him. They will be doing more tests and possibly sending him to the U.S. She won’t tell him until then. There’s no cure. They don’t even know if it’s a question of weeks or years.

Tahsin is…somewhere…screaming at Riza for telling everyone about the hotel. [I think he did it because his pride was wounded by what Suhan said to him.] “What use is it to be rich and powerful if no one (say Suhan) knows? Power is what you gain when people know you have it.”

Suhan gives the dozing Cesur a peck on the cheek. She tells him she needs to go back to Casa Korludag because no one knows she left. Suhan tells him she’s grateful for his keeping his hatred of her father in check tonight. “Tahsin Korludag was the father of Suhan for a moment”.

Adalet tells TK that Riza came and told her he has information that could ruin his (TK’s) life. “Why did you give him the hotel?” She gets up and tells him to leave now and never return. Don’t write her because she won’t reply. She says she’s done.

#55 – Parte 3 de 3

Cahide and Korhan are eating breakfast when she sees the news on her tablet about TK giving the hotel to Riza. She’s indignant and tells her former puppet he has to go ask his father why he did that. Korhan doesn’t give a rat’s patootie. Her greed is back. She storms out saying the hotel was part of her son’s inheritance [part of Cahide’s nest egg, she means].

Cesur brings Suhan home. While they sit in his truck, she tells him that, but for this (her father’s illness), she would have left. He tells her that, if she was planning to leave because of him, she needn’t have bothered. “There’s no more tie between us. You killed that tie at the hospital.” [when she told him she had an abortion] She gets out of the truck, looks at him sadly and says “You hate me, right?” He replies: ”Me encantaría” [I would love it if I did (hate you).]

Banu calls Cesur to tell him that the old guy was stabbed. Then we see Riza ragging on Turan. Turan tells him that a guard showed up during the attack, and the “friend” had to run.

Riza gets to the hospital before Cesur and is taken aback at the sight of two cops outside the guy’s room. Riza goes to that place in the hospital where all these hospital assassins in dizis/TNS go to quickly obtain a white coat. He gets past the cops and smothers the old guy with a pillow. Then he gets away scot free.

Korhan arrives, is assured that his father isn’t there, and tells Suhan about the hotel.

When TK yells at Riza about Adalet, Riza tells him that the old man was gotten out of the way to protect him (TK).

Bulent shows up at TK’s office and refers to their “victory”. Cahide arrives and overhears Bulent. “Losing the bid would damage the company, but Korhan won’t give up so easily. He has plans. The olive orchards are worth a fortune, and he doesn’t want to lose them." TK: “Well, find out what he’s going to offer.” Cahide scuttles down the stairs. Hopefully she’s going straight to Korhan to out Bulent as the mole.

Riza approaches Suhan at, I think, the outdoor coffee area of the hotel. He gets very close to her when she asks him if he’s threatening her father. “It’s your style, just like what you did with Salih. What do you know about my father?” “Are you sure you want to know? Come with me.”

Whoa! He shows her the video of her father (accidentally) killing Salih. Suhan sinks into a chair.

Excellent recap novelera! Thank you! This was a pretty telling episode, and I enjoyed save for Mr EVERYWHERE, hearing and doing EVERYTHING! Riza’s superpowers are simply unbelievable! The 30 yr criminal starts his week off running a hotel, going to see his sister, hosting a party and reception for the prospective mayor, firing people, killing someone, and showing Suhan the goods that he has on her father! He’s a regular CEO! But for all of his “power” seeking, threats and misdeeds, tell me, what the hell does he know about running a hotel?!?!? I guess it’s running itself, and with Riza at the helm, there will soon be no more employees cause he’s firing them all! He’s a wannabe if there ever was one! Looks like he’s also, now, got Suhan by the braids. She will do anything he wants to keep her father, who she believes is dying ( I don’t believe it) from going to prison. How will she face Sirin and Reyhan with this knowledge? Even though Salih got killed in the fray, it was an accident and Mean daddy should’ve called the cops right away! That would’ve thrown a monkey wrench into Riza’s monkey brain………

Finally, chicken head Cahide has some info that she can do some good with! Now that Korhan knows everything that her and Hulyagan plotted, Bulent has nothing over her and she can blabber all over that he set the fire that initially almost killed Mean daddy. Maybe they are gonna try and redeem Cahide although she doesn’t deserve it……

Did it seem like, for a moment there, that Suhan wanted to tell Cesur the truth? Everything has changed, Cesur and Suhan are on better terms, and Cesur was even polite to Mean daddy. So what’s she waiting for? It’s clear that they love one another, and Cesur doesn’t deserve to continue to be in pain. I think it’s time for Suhan to fess up! But didn’t you just know that Cesur was gonna be sorely pissed when he found out about Riza having photos of his Suhan! If the cops weren’t there to save him, Riza’s azz woulda been grass—— mowed grass! I so wanted to see Cesur beat the crappola beans outta him! Hopefully it’s coming!

Hopefully the hospital has security footage…seems everyone else in this story does!

And……

Every time Mean daddy cocks his head to side in that quizzical way that he does, like he’s assessing his prey, it reminds me of a Velociraptor in the Jurassic Park movies…..hmmmm….lol

Novelera, thank you for that excellent account of all the wheeling and dealing, lying , crying, and dying as we spin forward.

Tuba ( Suhan) looked stunning last night . I wonder how long it took to style her hair . And yes, Cesar looked at her like she was the last slice of his favorite cake.

Riza , old stoneface, has only one facial expression no matter what is happening. I loved the baseball cap disguise he wore into the hospital and then he cleverly remembered to remove it when he donned the white coat to get into the old guy's room to smother him...with no baseball cap and no change of expression. Riza is a stone cold guy.

Poor Cesar doesn't even have the comfort and hope of an expected baby because Suhan is letting him think that she had an abortion. I don't like her . You don't lie to the love of your life .

Carmella, yeah, Tahsin does look like a curious parrot when be cocks his head to stare at someone . However, I still think he looks like a koala bear.

Uh oh , now that greedy, grasping, sneaking Cahide has discovered that Bu is Tah's minion , Bu is in trouble .

I worry about Suhan alone in that hotel with crazy , emotionless , obsessed Riza. I can see him mentally paging through that Suhan Scrapbook , and now Suhan is right there with him... .muy creepy.

MANY thanks, novelera, for this wonderful recap of an exciting episode. I might note that the theme song keeps playing in my head long after I've watched the episode, but what I REALLY love about the intro song are the two shots of shirtless Cesur!

Korhan is certainly furious with his father, and TK doesn't even bother to lie about having been tipped off to what Korhan's bid would be. "The wolf keeps his habits," TK boasts. I'm hoping that Cahide's greed, coupled with her having overheard Bulent and TK, will be of some use to Korhan.

I guess I'm in the minority here (perhaps a minority of one), but I really disliked Suhan's cornrowed hair. To me, she looked more like a statue than like a living, breathing human being. Oh well... Cesur clearly doesn't share my view. I loved the longing look he gave her when she asked whether he hates her.

I'm not sure why they had to have TK dying of a rare disease. His breathing and blood pressure problems seemed quite believable and serious without bringing in some "rare disease."

I enjoyed your saying "Riza goes to that place in the hospital where all these hospital assassins in dizis/TNS go to quickly obtain a white coat."

I actually was impressed with Riza's explaining “What use is it to be rich and powerful if no one knows? Power is what you gain when people know you have it.” Reflections like this remind me that Riza is not just some frustrated thug, he's an intelligent--and thus more interesting and dangerous--frustrated thug.

Since Suhan admitted that Riza makes her feel creepy, I was surprised that she agreed to go with him into his hotel room. Will he be content with just showing her the video? Somehow, given his obsession with her, I doubt it. Arrgh.

Amor-val

Great recap, novelera! Thanks. Lol: “…that place in the hospital where all these hospital assassins in dizis/TNS go to quickly obtain a white coat."

Why couldn’t they keep the original amounts?

Korludag’s bid: 1,800,000 TL = 100,235.70 USD
Tahsin’s bid: 1,800,001 TL = 100,235.76 USD

They cut: Cahide is pissed because Korhan doesn’t want her to go Mihriban’s party. She’s under doctor’s orders to rest. Cahide accuses him of not wanting to be seen with her, that he doesn’t find her as attractive in her condition and that he wants to flirt with other women. Korhan shuts her down and leaves.

Of course, Cahide shows up and spots Korhan talking to a woman—it’s a business convo. The chickenhead (thanks carmella) makes a beeline and goes ballistic on the woman for hitting on Korhan! She shouts that Korhan is just like Tahsin! Then she storms out. Total humiliation for Korhan.

She also rips into Korhan when he comes home and accuses him of cheating. He turns on her and reminds her of how she lied for months. And the bitch has the nerve to say “That again? Won’t you forget? Won’t you forgive me? Korhan answers, “bilmiyorum” I don’t know. I despise Cahide.

Juanita, I didn’t care for Suhan’s braids either. And I was also impressed with Riza’s explanation of power.

amor-val

Carmella I got a kick out of “Riza having Suhan by the braids.” Tell us how you really feel about Riza! I suppose Bulent could still compel her silence by telling someone about the plot to kill Cesur, which she was definitely part of. But he’d probably implicate himself if he did so. I’m not counting on any security images implicating Riza in the old guy’s death. After all, everyone knows that a baseball cap perfectly protects you from being identified! And, yes, for someone who has no vínculos with Suhan, he sure gets exercised at the thought of Riza being anywhere near her. And I got a big kick out of “velociraptor” Tahsin.

Susanlynn, I also was worried about Suhan being in that hotel room with her sleazy admirer.

Juanita, Yes, I notice Cesur’s fine torso. But I also notice that he appears like a normal, fit man. Many of the telenovela galanes have taken their cue from U.S. movies. All the good guys look like gym rats, with defined six-pack abs. I agree about Tahsin’s illness. Dying that way is too good for him. He deserves complete humiliation and then a loooong prison term. Yes, Riza is an intelligent thug. But he suffers from constant wounded self-esteem. He’d have been better off to keep quiet about the hotel ownership and to have kept on privately milking TK.

Dondi, Thanks a million for posting some things Telemundo cut. And also for clearing up my confusion about how much money in U.S. dollars Korhan had bid. The real conversion shows how insultingly low TK’s bid was, just enough to outbid his only son. Amen about despising Cahide. Every time she appears on screen, I feel like hissing. I haven’t seen any signs of real remorse over what she did. And she has managed to wheedle her way into Korhan’s nice house because of being afraid of Hulya.

This is mostly for dondi, but this book was for sale at my local library. The Friends of the Library have a small section where donated used books are sold to help the library.

I just can't cram another book into my spare room, so I didn't buy it. If I buy many more of those bargain books, I'll have to get rid of the bed in that room, making my son's occasional stays difficult.

Well, since no one has provided a recap or even a comment about Friday's episode and I have some free time, I guess I'll offer a quick rundown of Episode #56.

Risa shows Suhan the video of Salih and TK fighting and the gun going off, killing Salih. Riza then tells Suhan she'll have to choose between her dying father and Cesur. Cesur knocks at the door. Riza hides and Suhan opens the door. She tells Cesur that she's looking for evidence and no, of course Riza isn't here!

Cahide tells Bulent that while her secrets are now well known, his--such as the fire at Cesur's--could cause him real problems. She wants him to continue as a spy for TK, but also tell her what TK's bid will be.

In an interesting sequence, TK gets Turan to come with him. Then Hulya tells Riza that Turan isn't trustworthy. In the very next scene, Turan turns down TK's offer to pay him to spy on Riza. Turan tells TK that Riza has been good to him, and "not everything is for sale."

Necla comes to see Adalet. She assumes Adalet knows what the doctor has said about TK. Oops. So she tells Adalet that TK is very sick and could be dead in a few months. Adalet is devastated.

Cesur asks Rifat to get him some iron, and also give him the keys to a currently empty warehouse. He also manages to fool the two cops outside Rifat's garage who are trying to keep an eye on Cesur.

Bulent apparently tries to convince TK not to submit a bid [for what? I thought the auction was over]. TK insists on submitting a bid and reminds Bulent that he's in for a generous cut. Bulent looks uncomfortable.

Adalet passes out (or pretends to) and is taken to the prison doctor. When his back is turned, she takes a bottle of pills from a cabinet. She tells him she feels better and returns to her prison room.

Suhan at first seems to confess to Cesur that she couldn't go through with the abortion and will run off with him right now as he has asked. As they're about to leave, TK asks whether she's abandoning him for that man. She tells him she's going with the man she loves. TK points a gun at Cesur and shoots him. Then (surprise, surprise) Suhan wakes up. She calls Cesur, they meet, he asks her whether there's anything she wants to tell him, and she says no. She asks him to promise he'll stay away from Riza. He won't promise, and he walks away.

Cesur is in the warehouse making something with the iron Rifat got for him. I have no idea what he's making or why.

Adalet lies in her bed looking very unhappy. She takes out the pill bottle and ounts the pills (roughly 10 or so) as the episode ends.

Thank you , Juanita.

Gee, who knew Turan felt loyalty to Riza, who hasn't been a particularly good hearted boss . Oh well, it was nice to see someone , even dim Turan , say no to Tah.

Cahide so wants to be the queen of everything . She is very annoying .

I hate those scenes that turn out to be dream sequences .They did that in " Hercai."

The scene of Cesar welding gave me warm memories of " Fatmagul" in which the galan is a talented , hardworking, gorgeous welder. It makes me think that iron work must be an important part of Turkish culture.

What is Cesar making ? Is he recreating that cage that his poor mother was put into ? Is he going to put Riza in it and have Tah pull open the trapdoor ?

How many more episodes do we have? The writers seem stuck right now . Tah is sick. Riza is power hungry and crazy .

I noticed that Riza really enjoys sitting in the hotel lobby like a king on his throne ...but instead of a throne, he holds court on a loveseat with a coffee table .

amor-val

Thanks so much, Juanita. Above and beyond and all that!

I had a couple of thoughts about last night. How does Riza know that TK is ill? IIRC he mentioned it last night.

I LOATHE Cahide. She always manages to land on top. Will she never pay for her sneaky awfulness? The capper for me was the conversation she had with Korhan about hiring an ama de casas. Korhan wants good-hearted Reyhan, who might well have been his nanny. Cahide, of course, objects. She probably knows that Reyhan can see right through her. I thought she was supposed to be scrubbing the toilets, etc. That was the basis on which Korhan originally let her stay.

Will I mourn Adalet if she swallows those pills? ¡Para nada!

I for one am up to my back teeth with the secret pregnancy. If she chose to continue with the pregnancy, Cesur has every right to know some of his DNA is percolating in there.

I was also surprised by Turan's loyalty. He's also been shown as disgusted at Riza's evil nature, particularly when he said the old man had to die. Maybe they're trying to show him as a deserving parent to the chubby baby.

What the hell? Suhan believes Riza, but she doesn't challenge him about Cesur having been put in jail and later shot because he was the prime suspect.

Amor-val

Thanks, Juanita, for taking on an extra night of recapping.

Here’s how Riza knows Tahsin is sick. Turan was spying at the hospital. He noticed Suhan coming out of the doctor’s office after she got the bad news about her father. While he was watching, Necla came up to him. She started working at the hospital since Adalet went to prison and the pharmacy was closed. Later, Turan reported back to Riza and told him Necla spoke with Tahsin’s nurse and found out about his incurable illness.

Riza looked a bit shaken at the news, besides the fact that it would put a crimp in his plans. He asked if Tahsin knows. Turan had no clue. Riza said he would make a visit to Tahsin. That’s why he showed up to the house with flowers.

Did they cut:

Suhan at her mother’s grave asking for advice about Tahsin’s illness?

A scene with baby Zafer? The help was caring for the baby and Suhan took over. As she held the cute baby, Tahsin entered the room and asked to hold the baby, saying, “I missed him”. Tahsin actually looked like a normal human being holding that baby. Suhan had to leave. She went to her room and cried.

They cut so much. If I mentioned it all, it would be a not so mini-cap.

amor-val

Thanks, dondi. We appreciate your filling in the blanks. We viewers can kind of grasp something's been cut when some development appears that's never been mentioned out loud before.

Did you take a look at that book about traveling through Turkey? I posted a link.

Amor Val

Thank you Juanita for your superb mini! Another super long day at work, and my weekend’s not over yet, so I’ll be short and sweet…. I don’t believe for one second that Tahsin is dying……he probably paid the doctor off to say what he wanted him too..

Count me in on “loathing” Cahide! She’s stuck her sneaky chicken head into everything, and needs to have her neck wrung and be plucked and feathered! I feel horrible for Korhan! What did he ever do to deserve her and Mean daddy?!?!?

Turhan is a fool! Riza will throw him under the bus in a heartbeat, then back up over him a few times. I think, and it won’t surprise me if Turhan learns that lesson very quickly!

I’ve watched the original bolums dondi356, and they’re cutting this dizi all over the place! Makes sense now, why this dizi has been so confusing. TM is not doing this story any justice……and that sucks…..

amor-val

Many thanks, Susanlynn, novelera, dondi356, and carmella, for your terrific comments.

Susanlynn, yes, I too was a bit surprised that Turan felt so much loyalty to Riza, who has been at times quite nasty and condescending to him. But I guess Riza did provide much needed help when Turan got out of prison. Certainly I enjoyed the juxtaposition of Hulya's telling Riza that Turan was untrustworthy with Turan's demonstrating exactly the opposite. And I'm no fan of misleading dream sequences. As you say, we saw a lot of them in Hercai, which may be why I didn't fall for the one last night. As for what Cesur is making in that warehouse--I wish I knew. Some of the iron bars did indeed make me think of the awful contraption from which Fugen fell to her death. Yikes, I hope that's not what Cesur is building.

Novelera, count me among the non-mourners if Adalet swallows the bottle of pills. And I agree with you, too, concerning Suhan's not telling Cesur about the child she's carrying. I might be able to understand if she hated Cesur and wanted nothing to do with him, but that's not at all the case.

Dondi356, thanks very much for your account of how Riza knew Tahsin was ill, and thanks especially for letting us know about all the cuts Telemundo has made. To answer your question, yes, every scene you mentioned had been omitted from the version Telemundo has shown us. Sigh.

Carmella, I was just about to post this when I saw that you had commented. Thanks very much--I know how demanding your schedule is, and I'm delighted that you were able to comment, however briefly. I'm still not sure about TK's "rare illness." What seems most strange, as I think I mentioned a day or so ago, is that his "normal" health is already terrible--very high blood pressure, asthma, difficulty breathing, etc. Those alone could easily kill him. I guess I'm beginning to think you're right--since the rare illness isn't necessary to do him in, he may indeed have made it up to get sympatny. I guess we'll see.

I am wondering why TPTB are hurrying this show along by slicing and dicing it . I am also wondering how the writers brought this tale to a conclusion . Hopefully Cesar and Suhan and a big, bouncing baby will end up with a HEA . I want a HEA and a baby for Sirin and Kemel, too. They have been loyal and steadfast friends . Will Cahide be redeemed ?

amor-val

Susanlynn, I'm not sure what TPTB stands for, I assume it has something to do with Telemundo? At any rate, apparently we still have three more weeks to go with this dizi. Telemundo has been advertising another dizi, El fuego del destino, that (according to People en Español) will replace Amor Valiente on September 6.

General

Sorry, novelera, somehow I missed your post about the Meander River. Glad you mentioned it again and I looked for it. Very interesting, thanks! Turkey/Anatolia has an amazing geography and history.

carmella, ridiculous edits and awful translations are the reason I prefer to watch dizis in their original format.

Susanlynn, there will always be slicing and dicing of dizis. Some of it is justified. They have to fit a 2+ hour Turkish episode into a few 43 minute US timeslots. We don’t need to see people staring at each other for 30 seconds, product placement or other filler. But it’s nice to get an explanation for plot development/character behavior and insights into Turkish culture.

Kıvo has a new Netflix movie coming out on September 2, Âşıklar Bayramı/The Festival of Troubadours. A father and son story.

Infiel

I'm working on something that requires some research. As I was researching Infiel: Historia de un Engaño, I noticed that I can't find a male protagonist that is a good guy. The husband of the protagonista is clearly a bad guy.

So basically, my question is: Who is the GOOD male protagonist in Infiel?

Weirdo, I don't watch Infiel , but I catch a few minutes now and then , and it looks very sad . Perhaps, the day of the galan are over . We seem to get antiheroes instead of heroes now on tv and movies , except for superheroes. I like everyday heroes, good guys who try to do the right thing.

I am watching this one. I wasn't at first, just let them pile up on the DVR. But I finally got interested and am up to date.

Yes, Volcan, Asya's ex, is a pretty bad guy. But he's tortured. He got involved with a younger woman and seemed to actually want to maintain both relationships. He was found out by Asya (our heroine) and she kicked him to the curb. He married the younger woman, had a child with her, spend two years in the U.S. doing...something... and then returned.

Now he's tortured with jealousy over the woman he betrayed.

There are currently two good guys. I'm sorry, but the unfamiliarity of Turkish names causes me to be unable to remember them. One good guy is the psychiatrist on staff. He's definitely interested in Asya. Volcan was very jealous of him a while back. The other good guy was just introduced. He rides a motorcycle, was at university with Asya and has come back into her life. Recently the two of them went to Istanbul together for a weekend (separate rooms) and Volcan was almost nuts trying to find out where she went. He went to Istanbul and punched the new guy, who punched him back.

I would categorize both these guys, the psychiatrist and the motorcycle riding guy as good guys. I think the motorcycle guy is a professional photographer.

Infiel

Weirdo, I’m half watching this, mostly because it comes on after Amor Valiente and I’m too lazy to change the channel. I had no desire to watch this in its original Turkish broadcast. I find 99% of the characters despicable or irritating.

I agree with novelera, Turgay the psychiatrist has been a decent fellow, but he seems relegated to the friend zone. And now there’s the old college friend of Asya’s, Sinan, the motorcycle riding photographer. At least they are good guys for now.

Who knows who else will be introduced into this mess as it goes along.

Infiel

Thanks to everybody for answering.

I think I'll use the psychiatrist, Turgay (I agree, Novelera, Turkish names are hard to remember) for what I want, mostly since he has chances of being a protagonisto soon.

I might ask you guys about this Turgay guy (if he actually became a protagonist) at the end of Infiel, if that's ok. Sorry to ask so many questions, but I need to be sure for a project you'll see muy pronto (the kind of muy pronto announcements Telemundo makes, meaning that muy pronto will be in 7 months).

Thanks again!

Novelera and Dondi, thank you both for the explanation about Infiel. I only catch the first few minutes, but it looked like a bad husband and a lot of angry women. The leading lady's hOspital friend seemed like the good guy . I saw the punching match , but I figured the guy punching back was a friend of Asya. I just have the visual, so I make a lot of guesses.

Thanks for putting the names to the two competitors for Asya at the present time, dondi. You are right. This thing is SO full of jerks. I can't remember despising a character as much as I despise Volcan. Talk about your "dog in the manger".

There are some hints that the truly awful Gonul, Volcan's mother-in-law, somehow managed to create and/or fake some successful projects or businesses he'd started in the U.S, when he was there. There was a newspaper article basically saying that everything in the U.S. was a big scam. Gonul keeps threatening to throw him under the bus if he doesn't tow her line with her precious daughter. She also apparently got further reporting on Volcan's U.S. activities swept under the rug.

Maybe the problem with this dizi is that it's an adaptation of an English series called Dr. Foster. I actually watched the first epi of that, and it was almost exactly scene for scene what we've seen in Infiel.
