CARAY, CARAY! UNDER ATTACK BY THIEVES!!
My dear, loyal Caraymates, it is disheartening to inform you that I have been made aware of administrators of Facebook pages who are stealing the recaps that our hard-working, dedicated recappers have spent much time and effort to provide for us…on a voluntary basis! Actually, it was last week (mid-week) that I was initially informed of ONE page that was copying our recaps for Mi Fortuna Es Amarte...then the snowball started rolling! Up to today, I have found or been given information about several other Facebook pages (TEN to be exact!) that are stealing our content, specifically for Mi Fortuna Es Amarte, Vencer El Pasado, Cuidado Con El Angel , Si Nos Dejan, and Mujeres de Negro. ALL the plaigiarists originate from Kenya where these telenovelas are currently being aired on Citizen TV.
I
have messaged each of the Facebook admins who are responsible for the pages
that are posting our recaps and less than a handful have responded and
indicated that they would cease posting our content on their pages; the others
have ignored my message and continue to post our recaps…and one of them
responded with bored and disgusted emoticons!
I
am reaching out to you and asking for your assistance in identifying and stopping any other
Facebook pages/websites that are stealing our COPYRIGHTED content. Please email
me at rgvchick627@gmail.com if you have any information regarding this issue or
would like to assist in identifying the culprits.

"one of them responded with bored and disgusted emoticons" QTH? Has anyone informed them that this is called STEALING?
I found a page on Facebook that's probably stealing our content (the style of the recaps is suspiciously like some recappers' of Caray). I assume you have found the specific page already, but I'll send you an e-mail anyway.
I hope this ends soon.
I think posts on FB can be reported by clicking on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner, but honestly, it is doubtful FB would do anything about it. Worth a try, though.
Doris, yes I am aware that copyright infringement can be reported to Facebook. I tried yesterday only to get a message that"Something went wrong..." and I should close my browser! I'm going to try again as soon as I find the time. It is very time consuming to even have to find these thieves. I have to search for the specific telenovela "updates" (this is what these culprits call them) then look for the episodes on Caray, Caray! to make sure that they are being copied. THen I go back and message the admins of the page(s).
I just need some HELP!!
I promise I will do my own Facebook search as soon as I find the time.
Is there a way we can protect ourselves of such attacks? I will try to find out if one of my friends who knows a bit about this type of things has an ideea.
I am not on Facebook and am technologically illiterate.
I do not participate on social media, Facebook in particular. I do apologize that I am unable to assist.
You do so much for this site Rgv Chick and your generosity is so greatly appreciated. Having to contend with this is an undue burden and in a more honest world would not be necessary.
Diana
I completely understand why you stay away from social media and don’t blame you. I have a personal Facebook account that I RARELY use, but now I have an account under my RGV Chick pseudonym…so I can address this issue. Que triste!!
For these reasons, I stay completely away from Facebook, Twitter (maybe Elon will fix it), Instagram, etc.
My husband loves Facebook to stay connected with his family in the cDR, and I can't tell you how many times I've had to write viruses off his phones.
I had not thought of sneaking Doritos to you while we were in detention in YEARS!
BTW, Novelera. I AM one of the bad guys...I'm just on your side.
Yeah, it's been awhile since I have gotten detention. Older and wiser or...just less fun than I used to be back in the day .
