La herencia, #36 & 37 Monday "Don't pull the gun if you're not ready to pull the trigger"

Capitulo #36

Deb is surprised that her daughter, even while feeling so bad, still wants to go down for dinner. Sara is adamant about facing the brothers; even more, she plans to move to the main room. And she will ask Dante to challenge the will. Deb is surprised, but smiles like the cat who just ate the canary.

At the Millan home, Rosa is upset Irma is trying to ruin her life. Bertha advices her to avoid Irma at all cost, or else Prospi will find out about her past. She adds she can no longer work in this house, her decency and education forbid it. Rosa begs Bertha to stay and when Jess and Bryan arrive, she asks them to close the door behind them, not allow Bertha to escape.

Juli tries to boast to Pedro about having the only Del Monte heredero, but Pedro reminds her there is also his son, Tadeo. Dante interferes to tell Juli that Deb’s real lover is her father, the respectable Prospi.

When Dante leaves, Juli tells Pedro she can’t believe her dad would do such a thing. Pedro thinks it is true, he even witnessed a moment between Deb and Prospi once. Deb and Sara come down the stairs at the same time and Juli insults Deb, who doesn’t deny the affair. Sara keeps Juli from attacking her mom, by saying she was aware of what was happening, but it takes two to tango. Grow up, Julieta! Juan comes from the study to ask what is going on and Juli accuses Sara of keeping the affair hidden. Sara doesn’t care about Juli’s words, she tells Modesto to prepare the dinner table, she and her mother are dining with the family from now on.

Mateo is in a great mood, so Lucas points out that having Juli at the ranch is not something to be happy about. The situation will become unbearable, with both Juli and Sara under the same roof. Mateo is still happy, asks if Lucas thinks he’ll make a good dad. Yeah, sure, a clueless Lucas agrees, but he has bigger worries now. He tells Mateo about Amado and having a bio mom who wants to meet him. He feels bad because sometimes it feels like nobody cares about him, since they all have their problems. Mateo says he will help him and asks how he found out about this. Lucas says it was Deb and Mateo realizes something is off about the whole thing.

Prospi thinks Bertha wants to quit because she wants more money, but she makes it clear she feels like she hasn’t done her job well, helping the family. This house has become a place of sin and she has to confess what Senora Rosa and Senor Prospero are doing. Both Rosa and Prospi look confused, remind Bertha that she has to be discreet about her job. Alondra and Jess are curious what she’s talking about, so Rosa and Prospi make up a lie about Bertha being in love. Bertha is upset, she says they are made for one another.

At the bar, Amado and Salvador talk about his ladies - Adela, Irma and Deb (who everyone thinks is still having an affair with Sal). Just like Don Seve, Amador adds. Salvador resents the comparison and flashes back to a confrontation he had with Severiano years back (but when,). We don’t actually hear what Sev says, but we can read his lips when he mentions that Paloma is his daughter. Sal goes mad with anger, they get into a fight, and Sal pulls his gun. Sev says he and Irma are both just as guilty, and Sal asks him to leave.

It’s dinner time at the Del Monte family, with Juan and Sara sitting at opposite sides of the table. Sara tells Adela that her father can come back to work the next day. Pedro protests, but Sara doesn’t take him into consideration. Simon lets everyone know that the wedding with Paloma is back on, so Sara tells him that he is going to pay for it from his own pocket, with his own money. Simon had planned to use the family fortune to pay, Juan intervenes to ask Sara to stop giving orders, who does she think she is? Severiano Del Monte’s only legitimate daughter, she answer, and things are about to change in Santa Catalina. And she is going to fight for presidency at Avocados R US, too. Juan can consider himself to blame for everything, since he caused it all when he broke her heart. From now on they are rivals.

Juan says no way, I’m in charge, and whoever takes my place, has to prove they deserve it. Simon adds that she’s just throwing a tantrum and to run a multimillion dollars company you need more than that. Sara reminds him that he’s no better, since he had no clue women were paid less than men in the company.

Modesto intervenes to say dinner is not the time to talk shop, Don Seve never did things like this. Juan says they should talk later in the study. Deb mentions how good the food is, looking at Julieta adds that even the uninvited guests can enjoy it. Modesto says Juli was always welcomed in the house, ever since Dona Catalina was alive. Deb asks if Dona C. ever knew which of the brothers Juli will sleep with first. As Mateo looks on, Sara asks Deb to stop, Lucas is afraid another fighting is starting and Juli calls Deb a hooker. Deb stands up to scream at Juli, Juan has to scream ever louder to stop the fighting.

Cornelio and Salvador talk about Dulce’s party being very nice. Then they mention Amado being mysterious and Corni tells Sal Amado is Lucas’ brother. Sal notices how unfair life is sometimes, one brother is a heredero, while the other is a busboy. Corni plans to sell the house, Sal thinks that’s not fair to Bea, what about his liquidation? Corni says he placed that money in the bank for Tadeo's future. He loosk suspicious, is he lying?

Corni thinks Sal should allow Paloma to sing at the Bar, but have a real show. Everyone loves her, she is about to marry Simon and everyone respects her, too. Sal isn’t sure, but Corni says he’d like to invest in the show, create something nice for the bar.

Still at the dinner table, Deb would like to have a drink, but Juan says there is no alcohol in the house. Deb thinks that she should be allowed to drink, Sara adds that she hopes Mateo follows through on his promise to stop, because if he drinks again, she will be the one to take him to detox. Mateo says she has no right, Sara replies she will only be doing it for his own good. Juan asks for his coffee in the study and tells Sara he’ll be waiting for her there.

At the Millan home, everyone mentions how happy they are Bertha is here. Rosa says that she even managed to accept Bryan thanks to her - Prospi thinks he should have known about Bryan moving in before. Rosa apologizes, they are both sugary sweet with one another. Bryan tastes the food and hates it, asks for a napkin, since he doesn’t want to dirty the fancy towel he has. Rosa asks Bertha to teach Bryan how to behave, Bertha says that will cost them extra. Rosa and Prospi both look scared.

In the study Juan reminds Sara they are over. She hasn’t forgotten, men always hurt her: her father, her brothers, and he’s been the worst. Juan wants her out of his life, Sara accuses him of lying to her, so Juan thinks she should go away, put some distance between them. But Sara doesn’t want to hear it, she will stay and fight. Juan insists she has to leave and when he decides something, feelings play no part in his decisions. He was mistaken with her, only thought she was the woman of his life. Sara says they will keep things professional from now on and she will be taking the main room. Juan doesn’t agree, Sara says he can’t help it – she’s staying at the ranch for the rest of the year and then she is leaving for good.

She leaves the study, only to cry outside the door. Inside, Juan doesn’t look better.

Rosa and Prospi cuddle for Bertha’s sake, then start gossiping about the Del Monte problems. Prospi mentions Sara and Juan breaking up and Sara challenging the will. He is worried this will affect Julieta. Just then he receives a message from his daughter, wanting to meet the next day at the ranch. He tries to call, goes straight to voice mail and leaves a message. Rosa plans to go live at the ranch, too, take care of Juli. Also, there is a bassinet coming the next day, she will make sure Juan pays for it.

Jess, Alondra and Bryan come to say good night and Rosa says Bryan needs to sleep in the living room. Later Jess comes to join Bryan on the couch. Bertha arrives to bother them, asks Jess to go to her room, even if she thinks it’s absurd, too.

In their room, Prospi thinks Rosa was a bit cruel, Jess and Bryan are married. Rosa says she will check that marriage certificate, make sure that everything is legal. Prospi wants to go to sleep, Rosa wants something more. They start making out.

Each in their room, Juan and Sara remember moments from their past. They’re both sad.

The next day Deb argues with Adela, and Modesto takes her defense, they are not her servants. Deb accuses him of telling Juan to break up with Sara, they start fighting. Deb threatens them she will tell Sara.

Juan has come to pick up Tadeo for school. The boy is happy to see him.

Running into Prospi, Deb is very upset with him, Prospi says he and Rosa are back together. Deb plays the victim, she loves him. She kisses him just as Julieta arrives. Deb makes it clear she doesn’t know who finds out about them, Prospi can find in her what Rosa can’t give him. Prospi says they are over for good.

Mateo and Lucas arrive to talk to Amado. He says their mom is dying and needs a kidney, but he’s not compatible. Adds they are very poor, he has three younger brothers and their dad has been dead a long time ago. He started gambling to win money, like a fool. When mom got sick he had some tests done and found out he’s not compatible and his brothers are too young. But Lucas could help, he could be a good match. Mateo asks for a DNA test, how else could he know they are brothers? Lucas asks how was Deb involved in the whole thing. Amado sees Corni arrive and shuts up, only says Deb encouraged him to search for Lucas.

Bea arrives at work a bit late. Rosa tells her she has to fire her, because they are having money problems.

Juli scolds Prospi for sleeping with Deb, he reminds her she cheated, too. Juli feels bad because she has a bad relationship with Sara and Deb and she always thought he was an upstanding man. Yeah, but he never had their respect, Prospi says, even if he always took care of them. Jess married without saying anything, Alondra does eveeything she pleases and she herself is more and more obsessed with Juan. The guy doesn’t love her and he doesn’t have the guts to demand him to marry her. Juli asks Prospi to fight for her happiness.

Simon and Pedro are eating when Sara arrives. Simon ignores her questions, but when she asks about Lucas and Mateo Modesto says they both left early, so did Deb. Sara wants to continue the talk she and Pedro started the other day about someone committing fraud at the company. Juan arrives with Tadeo and Pedro is very happy to see him. Tadeo is an official Del Monte. He hugs the boy.

Capitulo #37

Bea begs Rosa for her job back. Deb arrives to make matters worse, even Rosa thinks they could maybe keep Bea a bit longer. But Deb doesn’t budge, asks to see Bea’s purse before she leaves (in case she stole something).

Now that Tadeo is a Del Monte, Juan reminds Pedro that he will have to take care of his son. Pedro is happy to do it, plans to take the boy to school. Juan reminds him they have some business meetings scheduled later on. Sara is happy to see Tadeo, too, there is some talk about the need to buy him clothes since he didn’t bring any (ha, as if Mama Bear Bea – or any mother – would let their child leave the house for several days without a change of clothes!) Modesto, who knows Tadeo very well, offers to buy him some, but is quickly refused by Pedro. Is the man supposed to forget this is his grandson?

Amado says Deb encouraged him to speak to Lucas, he’s desperate about his mother’s health. Lucas would like to meet the woman and have some analysis done. Mateo wants to make sure he is related with them, first, but he’s getting restless, he’s been noticing Amado drink.

Juan scolds Simon again about what he did to Sara. Simon says other things are more important, and Juan remembers his parents talking about no fighting between brothers! Simon is a good guy, you should understand and support him, they said. Sara walks by to say she will be arriving late at the office, she has things to attend to.

Deb wants to handle the finances from now on, but Rosa disagrees. Deb says Juli is to blame, Rosa complains about Sara, they start fighting about which daughter stole Juan from the other. Deb ends up slapping Rosa, just as Irma walks in. Deb and Rosa band together against Irma, who says they all have something in common: Severiano Del Monte. Rosa tries to change the subject, then Deb asks Irma to go worry about her daughter (can't argue here, the woman has been in town how long now and she seems more interested in Rosa's life than her own daughter). Irma accuses Deb of lying about Simon being a good guy, Deb says he’s even worse than that. Irma spills the beans about Rosa being Sev’s lover, too.

Deb is shocked, Rosa calls Irma a liar. Deb asks what about her so called decency, thinks they are both the same. Irma reminds her Deb is no better, she used Catalina to get to Sev. And Rosa accused Adela of being a thief, because she was afraid she was going to steal Sev from her. Irma and Rosa start fighting, hair pulling ans screeching included, while Deb looks on, smiling.

When they’re done, Irma promises Rosa she will pay for everything and then leaves. Deb would like to know if Rosa had an affair with Sev before or after marrying Prospi.

Bea is scared because she is out of a job. Sara offers to help, Bea can be her personal assistant. Bea agrees. She feels bad Tadeo is at the ranch, but it will only be the weekends, she still has custody. Juan helped her with everything, he’s such a good man. Sara calls him a bastard who made fun of her, but that is a talk for another day.

At the office they are preparing for an important meeting, but Simon needs to talk to Juan first. He asks about Refugio Santa Catalina. It belonged to their mother, who left it to them, Juan explains and no, Sara can have no claim to that land. And they can never sell it, but they can give it away. Simon wanted to know this because that place is worth millions. Juan is aware, adds that Pedro is in charge with taking care of the Refugio. Simon looks impactado, just as Pedro walks in, boasting that he arrived in time for the meeting.

When they mention the Refugio, Pedro asks for details, but Juan is clueless about what is going on and leaves for the meeting. Lucas tells Pedro that if Juan promised the Refugio to Henry, he must have thought all of them will agree to hand it to the guy. Pedro would like to talk about this later, it’s a sensitive subject. The guy needs time to make up a believable lie.

Adela visits Salvador to thank him for Dulce’s fiesta. They flirt a bit… then there is a product placement about card payments (so ridiculous and out of place, especially when Adela starts asking for details and the whole advertising is done in a flirting manner).

Bryan prepared his own breakfast, Jess thinks there is no need for that. She asks Bertha about her parents, how does she know about Prospi having a lover? But what about mom? Bertha’s lips are sealed.

Mateo tells Lucas their only mother is Catalina. Besides, losing a kidney might put him in jeopardy, too. But Lucas needs to know why his mom left him. Mateo says he doesn’t care about his bio parents, he only inherited his alcoholism from them. Lucas doesn’t care about the inheritance, it has always brought them problems. But he notices that Mateo is not doing well, his hands are shaking.

Julieta comes downstairs, saying she didn’t go to work because she is taking care of her pregnancy (this woman!) She is curious about Mateo's talk with Lucas, but Mateo won’t say, if they are no longer together and she doesn’t love him, he has to put some distance between them.

Julieta follows Mateo outside, she doesn’t look happy he wants to be done. She sees his hands trembling, that’s what she hates about him, his drinking problem. Mateo says this is why she chose Juan to have a baby, isn’t that so? He plans to go, but Julieta grabs him and they kiss.

Avocado meeting. The pandemic affected the avocado sector a lot, but, Sara explains, their company managed to recover by producing a lot. So she has a plan, to start working with Thailand, it will bring them a lot of gains. Simon doesn’t like this strategy, the Board of Directors didn’t approve it beforehand. Sara says she didn’t need their approval, since she’s one of the owners of the company and she is the Financial Director.

Pedro likes the plan, Juan says Simon’s plan has already been approved and doesn’t jeopardize their next harvest. Sara thinks the client should choose one of the suggestions, even as she thinks hers is better. The client chooses Sara’s proposal. They shake on it, while Juan looks on, unhappy. It is kind of ridiculous that another one of Sara’s plans gets approval, when the last one cost them so much money (yeah, that was Julieta’s doing, but they don’t know that, yet!)

Mateo says he won’t allow Julieta to play with him anymore. Julieta is sure he will beg for her love again, but Mateo says he only loved what he remembered of her, but that is not enough. She can have Juan, he doesn’t care anymore.

The clients leave and Simon asks Pedro to talk in his office. Pedro congratulates Sara on her proposal, Juan wants to talk alone, Sara wants him to set a meeting with her assistant. Juan wants to talk now, but Sara points out they can't always have what they want.

Juan follows Sara to her office to say she didn’t have the board’s approval for her proposal. Sara says that is an old rule, things need to change. Juan thinks everything is going well as ut is, but Sara points out that more than 30% of their employees have to pay for child care. She wants to create a kindergarten within the company, many companies do it nowadays. Juan agrees it’s a good idea. And he doesn’t want the constant fighting. Sara reminds him they can't mix business with pleasure, so it’s time for him to leave her office.

Mateo goes to see Brandon and Dulce, who are sad, because Dulce is going back home. Mateo remembers how Julieta left back in the day, to go study abroad. But they will still be together, forever, they promised one another ....

Julieta arrives, she has followed Mateo here, too!!

Pedro is proud of Sara, Simon thinks she has always been like this, she was just hiding it better before. And yeah, they are both available now. Simon wants to talk about Juan, he thinks he could have offered to give Henry the Refugio. But they have to talk about this more, if he’s guilty, they have to remove him as president. Pedro says they can’t allow Juan to destroy their parent’s legacy.

Dante and Deb are at lunch. They talk about Rosa and Seve, Dante wasn’t aware, either. He thinks it was at a time when he barely knew Sev, he had no clue this happened. He thinks they should take a hotel room and celebrate how good things are going for them. Deb asks if Juan mentioned Sara to him, but Dante says he only asked to break up and she agreed. Deb thinks Sara will change because of her heartache, just like she changed in the past (really? What’s the story there?) Dante believes she will never allow Juan to manipulate her again. Notice that he never mentions the trust fund Juan asked him to create for Sara.

Deb wants to continue with her plan against the brothers. Dante says her plan against Simon, the psycho- loco (LOOOL) failed. She should be careful with him, he’s dangerous. Deb says she only wanted to scare him, so Dante gives her an advice: never play the silly game of threatening someone if you don’t have plans to move forward, don’t pull the gun if you’re not ready to pull the trigger. Deb says she knows how to do things. For now Lucas is about to leave the ranch and forget about his inheritance.

Alondra and Lucas are working. She’s happy for Juli and Juan, Lucas doesn’t think having a baby under these circumstances is that great. And Sara is suffering, too. But he doesn’t want to fight because of others or because of his own problems. He shares with Alondra that Amado is his brother and he is about to meet his real mother. She can’t tell Juan, though, only Mateo knows for now. Alondra thinks he should tell Juan.

Later they go inside a barn, for some hay loving. But Alondra puts a stop to it, look at what happened with Juan and Juli. Lucas has a condom, but she wants to do this in a better place.

And speaking of, Julieta is actually running after Mateo, who repeatedly asks her to leave him alone. He thinks she has no decency, turns to leave, she grabs his arm to stop him and he kicks her in the stomach by accident. She falls to the ground, appears to have fainted. She eventually regains consciousness, and Mateo grabs her in his arms to take her inside.

Sara is speaking in Russian on the phone and Pedro overhears and is impressed. He moves closer to her, she moves away… He has to go fetch Tadeo, but can they go out together later? She’s busy, focusing on work. So far she hasn’t wanted to step on any toes, but now that’s over. Pedro agrees, now that she knows the real Juan, she will be able to focus on people who are really worth it.

Juan calls Modesto to whine about things going badly with Sara. He has to get her out of his life no matter what. And Juli’s pregnancy will help, too. Modesto asks if he had a paternity test done yet. Juan receives a package and opens it. It’s a picture of Sara, with a bloodied dagger with a stabbed photo of Sara. He looks terrified.

Adriana - THANK YOU for your recap of this 2-hr episode. Perfect title. You are a saint to do this for us. I barely understood half of what was said and the subtitles/closed captions often left out entire sentences. Your recap helped me catch on to a lot of what was said.

I will always love 'Avocados R US.'

Caray! I can not believe I watched the entire 2-hours of this show, last night. Each episode reveals new facts and backstory, so the writers are very clever with that.

Paloma is not Sal's daughter?
And the Paloma/Simon wedding is back on? (when did I miss THAT convo???)

And just like that, Bea is out of a job. Soon to be out of a home. This is how good people become homeless. Thank goodness she is in a telenovela and Sara gave her a job, but where will she live after Corni sells the house that is not also in her name?

I totally missed the subtle product placement convo between Adela and Sal. Oh well, it was not 'obvious' with a visual product on the table, so that bingo square does not get marked. ~sigh~

Too bad my BINGO cards don't have "CATFIGHT". Who would have guessed the catfight would be between forty-somethings! I really thought Irma was going to pull Rosa's wig off at one point.

Is there woman in that town that Sev did not have sex with? Could he be Juli's bio-father???

Juan reminding Pedro that he will have to take care of Tadeo, now that he is P's son, might be a harbinger of future neglect or abuse by Pedro. Writers often drop little clues like that. More to be revealed, perhaps.

Seriously, why do those people still all eat dinner together at Santa Catalina? Are they gluttons for punishment? abuse? I would be ordering home delivery or eating out rather than subject myself to the dysfunction.

Things I currently need for a immediate BINGO:
- Sara to get engaged to someone other than galán (Juan)
- Anyone to be in a coma
- Galán (Juan) to be hospitalized
These characters need to get busy.
;-)

Adriana, this was wonderful. Loved the title which is actually sound advice. Doing a one-hour recap is difficult enough but two is an amazing feat, especially when done so, so well.

Another warm and cozy Del Monte family dinner with agita as the main course.

Cold hearted (not really) and steel willed Sara continued to lay down the law. She is taking no prisoners.

Juli can’t stand the fact Mateo might be moving on so she plays with fire and gets burned.

Bea losing her job but movin’ on up to the office likely means more money and thankfully, far more stability than wretched Rosa’s. Deb was such a beyotch last night wasn’t she? Her eyes were glittering with evil. And yes, what is with Irma trying to take down Rosie rather than reunite with Paloma? Congratulations to those of you who figured out she is Sev’s daughter.

"Is there woman in that town that Sev did not have sex with? Could he be Juli's bio-father???" doris, that is an excellent question and a distinct possibility.

“Rosa asks Bertha to teach Bryan how to behave, Bertha says that will cost them extra. Rosa and Prospi both look scared” was so true! Bertha is a force of nature. But there were some very welcome light moments. Rosa chasing Berta around, asking the door be barred to keep her from leaving made me smile. Veronica (Berta) looked like she was having a hard time keeping a straight face. There were barely suppressed smiles when Mateo was spinning Lucas around the room.

During the cat fight, I was wondering if there would be any flying wigs? 😊

“Is the man supposed to forget this is his grandson?” Adriana, how painful seeing Tadeo now heralded as a Del Monte must be for Modesto.

You did a marvelous job. Thank you Adriana!!!

Diana

Thank you, Adriana. You are a real trooper for including so many details.

Just a few thoughts for some notes:

Geez, I wish I could read lips.

I am sick of the closeups of peoples’ mouths and lips. Something creepy about it.

I liked Berta saying she was hired to take care of five people and that Brayan would be an extra charge.

Rosa’s feet were dirty on the bottom when she got in bed to get frisky with Prospi.

Lucas cannot be so stupid not to have a DNA test. He might as well stand ln the street and offer to donate a kidney to anyone who needs one.

Juan was smart in helping Bea be proactive in Tadeo’s visitation since she still has full custody of him.

Looks like Juan has just gotten used to his needs being delayed/never met in order to take care of everyone else. I felt sorry for him. He needs to wizen up and get a backbone as his bros are concerned.

Mateo looks like he's going through withdrawal and he has to be accosted by Juli who has shown her self to be the b**** she is.

When Bertha told Rosa & Prospi that she was not being paid to care for six people, I wondered if Bertha was paid LESS to care for four people, after the daughter married Brayan and was living with Adela & Co.

Jarifa - ew! no, I did not notice Rosa's feet. Ew, gross. I was probably rolling my eyes.

It is quite annoying that the show deleted the audio of Sev telling Sal and made the masses who don't read lips wonder what the heck he said. Thanks, show.

"Juan was smart in helping Bea be proactive in Tadeo’s visitation since she still has full custody of him".

Thanks for noting that Jarifa. That was a nice gesture from someone who at heart, is a good person.

"Lucas cannot be so stupid not to have a DNA test. He might as well stand ln the street and offer to donate a kidney to anyone who needs one". Yup, and there you have it!

I thought the soles of Rosa's feet were dirthy but thought "nah, someone there would have said something". Thanks for confirming!

Diana

Cher Adriana, merci for going above and beyond to give us a snappy recap of two hours of mischief and mayhem .

Wow...where to start ???? Well, let's start with the dirty soles of feet on Rosa when she was attempting to play footsie with Prospi in bed. I thought I was imagining those dirty feet or there was a shadow , so I laughed when I read your comment on them, Jarifa.

Why did they decide to not let us hear Sev tell Sal that he was Pal's biodad? Sev was cruising all over the neighborhood. They should have entitled this show " Avocados and Wild, Wild Oats." Speaking of which, Avocados R Us has certainly cornered the market on avocado art. I should have started counting all the avocado portraits in those office s.

I , too, feared Rosa's wig would go flying during that unexpected middle-aged cat brawl with Deb observing wearing that happily evil Cheshire Cat grin. Yikes .

Just when you think that these people cannot get more despicable ...they do.

We see a spark of hope in Mateo , and then Juli decides to reel him back into her web . Juli is exhausting .

Sara is trying to be large and in charge and provide jobs for everyone who gets fired

Wait...What ??? Corni wants to "invest" in Pal's show at the bar ???? Are we in for a serenade from Pal?

"Just when you think that these people cannot get more despicable ...they do."
Susanlynn - this is quote-worthy and should be added to our "Ay Caray! Did I Say That?" list in the sidebar.

Adriana, thank you for this wonderful double episode recap! It’s amazing and witty as always!

I didn’t read Sev’s lips so I appreciate you adding those details! Now I am confused though, a couple days ago we had a flashback saying Irma and Sev weren’t lovers and last night we get Sev is Paloma’s father??? What is the truth.

Juan might be a nice guy with a good heart but his arrogance bugs me!!! He actually expects Sara, his brothers, and everyone else to do what he says just because he said so! Drives me crazy!!! He tells Sara, I am done with you now so get out of my life! I know he is trying to protect her, but the fact that he actually believes she would just follow orders and go??? Yuck

I agree with everyone saying Lucas should ask for a DNA test, but if you think about it the test for compatibility for the transplant might as well be a DNA test because if she isn’t his mother the chances of them being a match are microscopic.

Mateo grows a backbone, I wonder if he’ll hold on to it??

Susanlynn - My guess is that whatever Corni invests in, he will lose it all. Every last dollar. And maybe even end up dead before El Por Fin because he almost seems Too Stupid To Live.

Who were those thugs at the bar that were eyeing Amado, Lucas & Mateo?

Thanks, Adriana, that was great! And doing two in one sitting! I thought it would be hard to watch for two hours, but I did it! Not sure I’ll still be doing it in two weeks! I’m going away for a few days and when I get back I’ll be twice as far behind!

I don’t think Lucas should give up his kidney. His mother gave him up. Giving up one and keeping the other makes it seem he might be a bio son of Severiano! I have a feeling he has a number of children!

Rosa mentioned moving into the house to care for Julie. If Julie’s pregnancy is in trouble that might really happen.

I thought the knife was the one Simon had in his foot. Maybe he’s the one threatening Sara. It has to be someone she knows. The brothers would want her to leave to keep the inheritance out of her hands. It would be something if Henry wasn’t behind the attack!

Liz

Ha...Deb doesn't know that the tide has turned, and now Prospi is, indeed, finding in Rosa exactly what he found in Deb. ...despite the dirty feet .

I got a kick out of Deb and Modesto throwing Deb's dirty sweater back and forth . Deb is a demon in a hat. I cannot wait for the anvil that the writers forged for her ...like maybe no more hats for her.

Hmmm....If Irma and Rosa both slept with randy Sev (ha...autocorrect always changes Sev to Several...ha ha ...true enough)....Snobby Juli and Pal could be half sisters . Juli would hate that so much.

Adriana. Thank you for the recap; I did not understand what was going on half the time last night, especially with Julie's macking on Mateo. Julie seems confused. Well to be frank, so do the "writers". Painful week ahead.

Muchisimas gracias, Adriana. Super recapping of the double episodes.

Adriana, glad you read lips! So they blank out Sev's voice during the flashback with Sal. I've never seen that done before. But I wonder if that's Sev's ego talking or a proven fact. Why did Sev not include Paloma in his will?

then Deb asks Irma to go worry about her daughter (can't argue here, the woman has been in town how long now and she seems more interested in Rosa's life than her own daughter)

ITA. Would Irma leave Paloma behind to be raised by Sal, who might mistreat her if she were Sev's and not his? Irma, you've got a lot of explaining to do.

Ack! Julieta will not leave Mateo alone. She annoys me to no end.

Doris, I think the thugs at the bar were the ones that Cornelio hired to attack Simon.

Modesto told Lucas a while back that he'd known his mother and she was a wonderful woman. Lucas should be talking to Modesto about Amado's revelation.

"But I wonder if that's Sev's ego talking or a proven fact. Why did Sev not include Paloma in his will?"

Your query is a thoughtful one Niecie. He didn't hesitate with Sara, why would he with Paloma? Unless of course Sal is the father which is why Irma left Paloma with him. But then why did she leave in the first place? She is such a bitter woman and has quite a few secrets to be revealed.

Yes, Lucas should talk with Modesto about his mother. He is so trusting but at least her identity seems to be on the level.

Diana

Adriana: Thank you very much for the in-depth analysis on your recap of last night's episode. I love 2 HR episodes.

Psycho Pedro, Crazy Simon & Co., still plotting more EVIL 24/7.

Adriana, thanks for the amazing recaps. Two-hour episodes are exhausting sometimes and recapping them must be a nightmare.

I can't stand Julieta. At first she says that she prefers to die rather than have Mateo's baby and now she follows him around like a bodyguard? The characters in this telenovela are losing their self-respect faster than the in-between company meetings period. And we have one in each episode, so that's not really a good sign.

Love Sara's attitude. You go, girl!

Also,
"then Deb asks Irma to go worry about her daughter (can't argue here, the woman has been in town how long now and she seems more interested in Rosa's life than her own daughter)

ITA. Would Irma leave Paloma behind to be raised by Sal, who might mistreat her if she were Sev's and not his? Irma, you've got a lot of explaining to do."

Can't agree more, Adriana and Niecie. That's not the expected reaction. And the will comment was excellent, Niecie. So many mysteries to be uncovered...

Diana, looks like we both had the “eagle eye” last night. Too funny!

Susanlynn, you, too!

Hi, guys, thank you for your kind comments, your support keeps us going. Doing 2 episodes recaps is rough, I feel like some of the fun is gone, since I'm always watching the time to see how long until the capitulo is over. But the show is silly enough to keep me interested.

One of my favorite parts about last night was Dante's advice to Deb, the one I used as my title. For someone as smart as she is, she is really not paying him enough attention, that might come back to bite her... somewhere.

For a two part show, how funny that the most talked about detail were Rosa's dirty feet. I noticed something, too, but I wasn't sure, so I let it go, to much stuff to write about.

If Rosa moves in to take care of Juli and then maybe Bea moves in to be Sara's assitant and be with Tadeo all the time, they might need a bigger dinner table. I live for those special meals between family members. I don't think I've ever seen a novela before where every single eating scene turns into a monumental screaming match between idiots (one of thel almost always being Simon).

Great work, Adriana. I know how rough double episodes can be. We are almost at the midpoint now. If Univision is doing this all the way to the end this series will end in 4 weeks.

While I certainly favor Sara getting tough I fear she might be stooping as low as Deborah. Going after the master bedroom was a very low blow. I hope she doesn't pull any stunt like Deborah did with the ironing. If Deborah thinks she has class she is completely delusional. I love how Modesto put her in her place.

The dominatrix wear on Sara, Deborah, and Juli (mostly the shoes) indicate the possibility of future catfights. BTW, although I don't remember the name of the novela, one of the best ones I ever saw was between two actresses in their 40s. The one last night must have needed a few takes because of the wigs.

Sara probably doesn't know about the additional threats.

No, we don't know when the confrontation between Severiano and Salvador happened, but I don't think it was that long ago. Neither of them looks much greyer in the "today" scenes.

What exactly did Lucas post online that has caused such a ruckus for the firm? I never understood that.

Margaret
