La herencia Friday 9/9/22 #43/44 Notes From the Couch on the Daily Double

These notes are in no way complete, so please feel free to add anything I omitted.

What a joke! They actually said that "La herencia" was in its"últimas semanas."   Guess it could be with the bizarre double episode programming. Give me a break!  I am really trying to enjoy this novela, PLEASE!

 #43/44

Hmmm, we have a bit of info leading up to the main event:  the wedding of Paloma and Simón.

Modesto tells Juan about Agustín saying Simón killed Severiano. Juan remembers Agustín saying that Severiano didn't deserve to die so horribly and for nobody to help him.  He never mentioned Simón. Modesto and Juan  agree to stay quiet about it.

Adela advises Prospi to fight for his family and wife.

Over tequila, Deb offers Berta a job as her assistant.

Sara updates Pedro and Juan with the fact that NOTHING happened to Cornelio  after attacking Bea and her. Juan pledges to do what he can to protect them.

Cornelio tells Modesto that  he loves Bea and just couldn't control himself. Modesto tells Cornelio that when he starts facing consequences and taking responsibility, he will emerge as a different man and not be some lea in the wind.

At the door to Sara's room, Juan gives her the bad news that Juli's baby is his and he even had Dante check over the reports. She thanks him for the news, gratulates him and closes the door in his face.

Catalina's portrait is restored to its proper place.

Adela lectures the viewers on the importance of  family.

ONE MONTH LATER

Paloma is getting ready for her wedding.  Her father still refuses to ask her down the aisle.  Adela thinks that she can talk Sal into coming. When Adela's attempt fails, Modesto stands in for his brother  and walks Paloma down the aisle.  Juan is stuck sitting with Juli and Sara with Pedro. Bea whispers to Sara that you cannot help that your eyes always look in the direction of the beloved. Juan is looking at Sara and she seems to be looking back. Pedro and Juli look perturbed. Irma is at the wedding and participates.   Surprise: Lucas and Mateo appear.  All six siblings are there and they have a group hug. Finally,  we hear "you may kiss the bride" and the (unfortunate) marriage ceremony is completed. Sal remembers Severiano punching him out after he damned Severiano and all of his sons. He then remembers Paloma tearfully asking him to come to the wedding.  Amado tells him to do it for Paloma's sake. Sal ends up going to the church and is welcomed by all. He even makes peace with Simón.  The newly wedded  couple enjoys their wedding night. (Too bad Paloma didn't take the advice to RUN.)  I (begrudgingly)  comment that  at least Simón thanks Paloma for wearing his dead mother's wedding dress.

In the meantime, Amado has been confronted by the goons set on collecting his old  gambling debts. He needs to pay up 100% (they decide to double what he owes and add interest) or Lucas will continue to pay and they have only started with him.

Mateo expresses his gratitude to Sara for what she did for him. Lucas tells the family that his mother is in town, too, for an appointment at the hospital. He didn't want to bring her to stay at the house without the brothers' okay. Juan says she is welcome. His mother's treatment for her condition has not gone well. It turns out that Lucas is a viable donor but in the next breathe he  adds that it looks like his mother is "condemned to death. "

Pedro tells Dante he has the accounting documents to prove that Juan is a thief. Dante warns  him to be careful in his chess game because Sara is ready to close an important  deal with the Russians and could take over the presidency. That doesn't bother Pedro who knows he will have his own throne soon.

Lucas learned a lot from his mother in the last month and doesn't want her to die. She told him that when she came back to claim him, he wasn't there. He was already a DelMonte and had a life she could have never given him. It broke her heart to leave him again but she prayed that God would take care of  him. She asked for Lucas' forgiveness and he gave it to her. He acknowledges that he lost his inheritance but that will not stop him. He will accept their help because he is going to need it. Juan tells him he is going to have security after that attack. (It looked like Lucas had security already in the scene with his mother.  There was a guy standing behind them surveilling the area. ) Lucas thinks back to being attacked. When Juan sees him upset, he asks if something else happened. Lucas says no.

Rosa gets on her high horse and insults Deb for hiring somebody like Berta who she has already insulted in this scene.  Berta resorts to French quoting a Mexican proverb: The lion thinks everyone is like he is. Rosa pretends she knows what it means but then has to asks them for the meaning. Deb answers in French: She is a slut. Deb and Berta laugh. Berta says it means that the guests are tired. She asks if Rosa and Prospi  are leaving already.

Pedro asks Sara if she loves Juan. She refuses to discuss feelings with him.

Sal puts the moves on Adela and  she is interested in taking a chance on love again.

Juli is clearly out of place at the hacienda. Rehab has made Mateo very good at ignoring her.

Sara makes it clear that she is not interested in either Juan or Pedro.

Rosa and Jessica have been treating Brayan like a servant now that Berta is gone. Prospi tells Rosa Brayan is no servant. He is sick of Rosa treating them all like garbage.  Prospi is taking control and tells Jessica and Brayan that they can sleep together in her room. Prospi says the same applies to Jessica. Brayan is not her slave either. She needs to do things  for him, too. Prospi thinks that  the reason  Rosa cannot put up with him is  because he is not Severiano. She sure put up with him.

Brayan takes what Prospi said to heart and refuses to wait on Jessica.  News to her: he is planning on still helping out his family financially. She is left thinking about how she is paying for her tuition. He suggests that she treat him like a husband and not her slave. Jessica admits it is all about "class". Brayan quotes a saying "When poverty comes in through the window, love goes out the door." He wants them to go back to his family home.

Bea starts working at Avocado Central where Pedro welcomes the "Campoverde Company" in his head.

Juan gets a phone call from a woman who says she is his mother.  He tells Pedro and they wonder if it is about extortion. Pedro t says he wants nothing to do with her because they only had one mother: Catalina.

Dante brings Sara the papers declaring that she is contesting Severiano's will.  He tries to talk Sara out of contesting the will even though she has the right to do so.  Sara is not backing down. She is contesting the will as payback for the humiliation the brothers put her and her mother through and for how Juan used her.  Dante says he wishes  he could have helped her more but  it would be a conflict of interest.  Sara will find her own lawyer.  Lucas has already been disinherited.

Juli and Deb argue over who is the "lady of the house" : Juli or Sara. Deb has decided to go see Juli's  father, she misses him so! Prospi shows up as if on cue and Deb is all over him just to drive Juli nuts.

Rosa starts to pressure Juan about marrying Juli.

Prospi tries to talk Juli into coming home. Nope, she is there to stay at the hacienda to make Sara and Deb pay for what they have done.

Dante wants to see the documents that Pedro will use to frame Juan. That is not happening. Pedro says he can make people disappear, too, without getting blood on his hands. From now on, he and Deb will do what he wants and he  physically throws Dante out of his office.  Going down the hall, Dante mutters to himself about showing Pedro who is really running the show.

Mateo tries to talk Brandon out of going to the USA to make money to send home. He knows it also has  to do with Dulce but Brandon can find great opportunities with robotics here in Mexico. Mateo tells Brandon that for him,  it is one day at a time.  Yes, he is still in love with Juli.

Dante  meets with Juan and Pedro's mother: Aurora. She proves she called Juan by showing him her phone. He asks her if she is ready to win her sons' hearts back.  They are millionaires but are like Cain and Abel. He thinks she will win Juan over right away and he will take care of Pedro.

Hmm . . .  it SEEMS like Sal is thinking about Paloma being a Del Monte and how that would change things all the way around. Modesto tries to get him to look to the future and  forget the past. Sal is conflicted.

Lucas brings his mother to Avocado Central. He introduces her to Sara and Juan. Deb cannot resist making some disparaging remarks about her. Even though Sara tries to shut her up, the stress is too much and Lucas' mother  and she falls unconscious. Her pulse is weak. They bring out their own company stretcher (convenient)  and take her to the hospital immediately.  Sara tells Deb that she hopes that nothing worse happens to Lucas' mother or the family will never forgive her. Sara wants her mother to recognize what she did for once in her life and apologize to Lucas. (Lotsa' luck I say!)

Jarifa, thank you for providing us with all the plotting and scheming details .

I was surprised that the wedding happened so quickly . Modesto is a Jack of all trades , and it turns out he can add wedding planner to his resume. And this guy can rock that me my apron . We got more of the niche de boda than I wanted . Simon .word my skin crawl, so I did need to see him financing Paloma .

When will the fact that Sev is Palomar father come out ?

Lucas has lost his inheritance ????

The bright spot was when Lucas And Mateo suddenly appeared suddenly at the church ofdoors , and Pedro , Simon, and Juan jumped up, and the brothers had that group hug in The middle of the aisle . Then , they beckoned for Sara to join them , and Deb and Dante looked annoyed. I thought this meant that the brothers and Sara were united and the tide was turning. ..but I guess not.

I was surprised that Prospi made that comment about Sev to Rosa. Does he know that they had an affair back in the day ? We need some flashbacks . Prospi abandonned his socks.

Did Dante find Juan and Pedro's mother ? Bringing back their horrible , abusive mother is a lowblow. Pedro will go ballistic if he sees her .

Does Pedro know that Dante is a killer? He has been pushing Dante around a lot lately , and I wonder how long Dante will take it.

Hmmmm...Juan had Dante check up on that DNA test, so what did Dante find out ? We suspect Mateo is the bio dad and that Pedro is helping Juli fool Juan , but is Dante in on the lie?

I don't like Berta teaming up with Deb. I finally figured out why Deb wears that hat all The time . If it came to a peak it would be a witch's hat, and Deb is , indeed, a wicked witch.

Whoops...Sorry ..autocorrect ...Modesto rocks the manly apron .
I didn't want to see Simon romancing Pal because he makes my skin crawl

Jarifa – thank you for another excellent issue of Notes from the Couch. Millones de gracias!

Paloma and Simón are finally married. Let the drama begin. Her hair and wedding dress were lovely. And our recapper got a nice break during the wedding night scenes. FFWD>>>

Prospi is now going sock-less and flaunting ankle porn! With two different suits.

Are the scales finally falling from Sara’s eyes as she finally tore into Debs for her tacky behavior toward Lucas’ mother. Duct tape would be fine with me.

Lucas' mom would not have survived spending a night at Santa Catalina, or a "family dinner".

Rosa at Juan's desk talking about the wedding & crib was like those telemarketer callers who never shut up, never take no for an answer, and one finally has to just hang up on them.

Why does Simón always remind me of the younger early-days Dr. Alex Karev from Grey’s Anatomy? (I always do a double-take when I see Simón)

Jarifa, the sun is shining a bit brighter due to your fabulous recap. Your razor sharp perception was on display throughout with “Juli is clearly out of place at the hacienda. Rehab has made Mateo very good at ignoring her” being a prime example. Perfect.

I enjoyed the arrival of Lucas and Mateo and the siblings hugging in a circle. The romantic lights twinkling in the canopy in the honeymoon suite. I couldn’t imagine that gorgeous wedding dress was Catalina’s so thank you for including that Jarifa! Who could have foretold we would be halfway through this before we had a truly romantic scene and with Simon of all people!

“Juan is looking at Sara and she seems to be looking back. Pedro and Juli look perturbed”. Ramp up the irritants – please. Anything to annoy either is most welcome.

“Lucas has already been disinherited”. OK boys. Better not wander too far off the hacienda – any forays out of the neighborhood are now forbidden.

I admit confusion as to what Sara was wearing. A half black and half hot pink turtlenecked dress with cutouts on the chest, slit so far up her thigh she must certainly have been wearing hot pants. Urban, please add this to your list of crimes of fashion.

Are we sure that Dante dredged up Pedro and Juan’s birth mother from whatever sewer she slithered out of?? Pedro was right in that their real mother was Catalina. Juan (understandably) looks very upset.

“Prospi is now going sock-less and flaunting ankle porn! With two different suits” Ha doris – that was just great. Watching Prospi in that lavender suit (looking soooo fine) next to Rosa with the faux dead animal boa and hideous red coat/dress had me shaking my head. I’m glad he tried to take charge but am sure Rosa will overrule him in the end.

“Cornelio tells Modesto that he loves Bea and just couldn't control himself.” Yes you lowlife and failure to do so is an atrocity and a crime. It is called attempted rape.

It was nice to see Mateo thank Sara although Pedro visibly cringed when Sara stood next to him in the wedding photo (at least he didn’t push her so perhaps that’s progress). Susanlynn, I’m waiting for poor Paloma to be declared another heir. I can just see Simon going ballistic!

Deb is always entertaining and I liked she and Berta teaming up against the perpetually annoying Rosa.

Jarifa, thank you for the outstanding recap – your “notes” were awesome!!

"What a joke! They actually said that "La herencia" was in its"últimas semanas." Guess it could be with the bizarre double episode programming."
Jarifa - when I look on the Comcast on(TV) screen guide beyond next week, the prime time schedule shows:
La Mexicana y Guerro
Mi Fortuna es Amarte
El Ultimo Rey

This is probably all a big plot to drive Viewerville loco.

Oh, and this coming Wednesday looks like there is a fútbol game. No telenovelas. If that can be believed.

Doris. ..Guess what! I get TV Weekly , and it gives the same titles you just mentioned . Univision .just not inform these scheduling l!aces about their current shows.

As Prospi turns into a fashion influencer, Rosa looks dowdier and dowdier in her oversized tops and voluminous pants in bold colors.

I have no idea where the writers are taking us. They are bringing in new faces . I wonder if Adela's husband is waiting in the wings .

This neighborhood must have been swinging back in the day. Sev and his several amantes . Poor Catalina put up with a lot , including her supposed friends sleeping with her randy husband .

Thanks, Jarifa. Your writing is wonderful. I hope you are now getting a break on the couch. My favorite line:

Juli is clearly out of place at the hacienda. Rehab has made Mateo very good at ignoring her

Susanlynn, I'm surprised the wedding happened so soon too. Definitely means there will be couple trouble.

But, Yay!, Catalina had great taste in choosing her wedding gown! I loved it on Paloma. Beautiful and classy.

I second Doris on the honeymoon night -- "our recapper got a nice break during the wedding night scenes." Woohoo!

Uh-oh, more people at the dining table in the mansion. I like Paloma and Simon together, great chemistry, still hoping for his redemption. But his controlling nature is combustible. Methinks Sal will get a chance to say to Paloma, "I told you so!"

Diana, I'm disappointed Berta is now working for Deb, instead of with Modesto. Deb hiring Berta as her personal assistant is pretty cocky, for all the dirty tricks Deb needs to hide.

Dante meets with Juan and Pedro's mother: Aurora. She proves she called Juan by showing him her phone. He asks her if she is ready to win her sons' hearts back.

Win their hearts back? That bruja never had their hearts.

Niecie, you're right . She was heartless. She neglected and abused Juan and Pedro. .What nerve to crawl back now. Pedro is going to have a major meltdown when he sees her , and I don't blame him . Dante is a demon , and I think Pedro has no idea how dangerous he is . Pedro thinks he is in control and can push old Dante around . I wonder what Dante is trying to do bringing Aurora back .

Niecie, I feel and share your disappointment in Berta working for Deb! Oh noes.

When Berta was "serving" alongside Modesto did you see him give her a rather annoyed look and sort of shake his head or did I imagine that? I forgot about that until just now.

I really think Berta is aboveboard and very honest. I can't see her going along if Deb asks her to do anything untoward.

And your comment about Juan and Pedro's "mother": "Win their hearts back? That bruja never had their heart" was stated perfectly.

Diana

Diana, yes, Modesto gave Berta a very funny look when they were both serving dinner.

Thank you Susanlynn! Does Modesto feel "threatened?" Seems silly but I can't think of any other reeason. Hoping for a truce (and more) soon!!

Diana

Diana,,Perhaps Modesto doesn't like Berta being connected to Deb. I don't either .

Jarifa: My TV on Dish said last night's episode was "Episode 37" on Univision.

Good Job on the recap of last night's episode. Goldie Locks Sara just cannot seem to catch a break these days.

Leading ladies of the following Telenovelas being punching bags of the villains who bully, bash, attack or done worse things to the leading ladies:
*Lucia of "MUJER DE NADIE"
*Goldie Locks Sara of "HERENCIA"
*Spunky Mariana of "RICOS"

Steve Boudreaux

Gracias, Jarifa. Lots going on as we get over the hump.

If I were in Paloma's place don't know that I would want to wear my future husband's dead mother's bridal gown. Jewelry OTOH, is another story.

Yeah, didn't get how Sara dressed like that for Simon's wedding. That would have looked very slutty on anyone else.

A pink suit on Prospero? The fact that it clashed with Rosa's clothing in the same scenes tells me that their marriage is doomed.

I also support Pedro's tantrum about Aurora. Nothing positive will come of this. She not only broke her sons' hearts, she stomped on them. BTW, the actress in that role played Fernando's mother in Mujer de Nadie.

Jessica is becoming too much like Rosa and that does not bode well for her and Brayan.

More tomorrow; I am about to turn into a pumpkin.

Thank you, Jarifa, for the amazing recaps!

"Too bad Paloma didn't take the advice to RUN" was fabulous.

Cornelio is seriously messed up. He STILL claims to "love" Bea?

Niece, the "Win their hearts back? That bruja never had their hearts." was perfect. As much as I hate Pedro, he was right when he said that their only mom was Catalina. Thanks, Urban for the info regarding Aurora's actress. Can't imagine her in this role.

"More tomorrow; I am about to turn into a pumpkin." Lol, autocorrect? Love it!

Susanlynn's first comment vanished. Can anyone restore it?

Urban, I did not recognize and the actress playing Aurora as Fernando 's mother. I always find it fascinating when actors and actresses pop up in different shows playing different roles.

That dress that Sara wore to the wedding was odd and inappropriate. It did not flatter her.

Pedro is a demon , but he is always impeccably dressed and looks sharp. They say that you should dress for the job you want , and he certainly does. Pedro is his own worst enemy.I think he really loved his brothers and son and Sara, but he is too damaged to understand what love really means. His anger and egotism will destroy him.

Now that Prospi has transformed himself, he has to rein in some of his fashion choices . He and Adela seem to have a friendly connection , so I was wondering if they might end up together . I really don't want Adela with nasty Sal.

Jessica is a spoiled princess. That marriage will not last if she doesn't grow up and realize that marriage isn't just about bunnyhopping. Although that is a wonderful part , it doesn't buy bread or a roof over your heads.

How much does Prospi know about Rosa and Sev?

When will Juan or Sara realize what Dante and Deb are up to? Does Deb know that Dante killed Henry and how ruthless he is? Even Pedro doesn't understand that Dante is much more dangerous than he thinks . What will happen when Pedro wakes up and discovers Thatcher has made a deal with the devil ? Will he sacrifice himself to save Juan?

Modesto, set another place writhe table for Paloma. That hacienda should have a revolving door .

Thank you Jarifa, for another wonderful recap. You capture everything so concisely and with such flare! Ultimate Semanas? Wow! And El Ultimo Rey?? Didn't they just broadcast that a couple months ago? They are replaying it already?

All misgivings about Simon and Paloma aside, I thought the wedding was very beautifully done and the wedding night too. It was well filmed and felt like a nice calm moment in the storm of perpetual chaos at Case de Del Monte. Paloma looked absolutely stunning!

Mateo looked pretty healthy. I am still crossing my fingers that one of these men will get their act together and balance out the pathetic shown by the others...

Sal is a horrible father but I guess that's not saying much in a sea of horrible parents, he basically just fits in.

I would have liked to see Alondra's reaction to Lucas suddenly showing up after a month. They have made that character so vanilla and without spunk someone should check her for a pulse.

I agree Modesto is disturbed by the fact that Berta is working for Deb. Deb is unfailingly awful......going after a terminally ill woman like that is beyond evil.

I think Pedro may truly love his brothers somewhere deep down but I don't think he truly loves Sara or even Tadeo. They are a means to an end for him. In Tadeo he sees a way to 'save' his own childhood self and Sara is just a part of his plan I am sure. That man's mind is devious but his smile is oh so appealing!!!

Darcy, Pedro seems damaged beyond repair by his childhood horrors despite the flashbacks showing Juan always trying to shield him and protect him. I thought Pedro might be redeemed because we feel compassion for him as a little boy who was treated so cruelly. However, now I am starting to think that his only chance at redemption is dying while protecting Juan . He is so bitter, angry, and heartless.

Susanlynn, I agree it would have been nice if they could've redeemed him but it's not going to happen. I like the idea of him sacrificing himself for Juan but I'm thinking jail is in his future. Who knows, maybe he'll find redemption in jail after the cameras stop rolling.

Darcy - If Pedro ends up in jail, we an always hope he will find redemption. OTOH, Deborah is completely unredeemable IMO and I somehow feel that she will get off with little or no consequences.

Even if Deb starts wearing a witch's hat, I don't think Sara will see what her mother really is...a vain grifter and troublemaker . She rebels in putting others down to exalt herself and will take advantage if anyone, including her own daughter. Offending people must make her feel powerful. I wonder what anvil the writers chose for her. I think Dante's anvil will be jail or death. I think Pedro's will be death.

I wonder if we will ever see Daniel (Pedro) as the galan of a show. I would like to see him play a good guy. He was a good guy in his minor role in Desalmada.

Thank you, Jarifa, your "couch" stories are always fun to read. Sorry to comemnt so late in the game, I wanted to watch first. As it turns out, I could only watch bits and pieces while cleaning the house, cooking the food... annoying real life! So your recap ended up being a life saver, as I prepare for Monday night.

So Paloma has become a resident of the Del Monte Mansion of Screaming Maniacs. Let's see how long until the honeymoon is over and Simon shows his true nature.

Cornelio needs to die a slow, painful death. I just can't stand him.
I'm rooting for Mateo to do something meaningful with his life - I think he will end up raising his child with Julieta, after she dies at childbirth (since she said that she'd rather die than have his child - yeah, the Patio has a long memory and can hold a grudge).

I raelly don't care about Lucas' story. I like the actor, it's a shame they couldn't give him something more interesting to do. And I agree that Alondra is very bland, too, they should have had him hook up with someone questionable, like an older woman or a housemaid.

Since this is "ultimas semanas" (really, show? what's next, three episodes a night?), I guess we can start making predictions.

I kind of feel that Pedro will end up dead, maybe while saving Juan or in a confrontation with him? I think him ending up the way he is now started in his early childhood, but Sev always whispering in his ear that Juan is the leader and whatnot only made matters worse. When he first arrived at Santa Catalina he was a wounded little boy, he needed reassurance that he matters. All the flashbacks we've seen have Sev encouraging Juan to be the head of the family (putting a lot of pressure on him, too), creating a hierarchy between brothers. And Catalina could only do so much: she had 5 kids and a cheating husband, it's not like she could ask her girlfriends to help because they were all "busy" doing the nasty behind her back.

I totally see Deb getting away with everything, mainly because she hasn't committed any real crimes so far. Sure, she's the biggest schemer this side of the Atlantic, but I find her so entertaining, I can't be objective.
Dante will definitely end up in jail, we're not connected enough with him to see him get a dramatic death (like Pedro, for exemple). The only interesting thing I can see happening for him is teh reveal that he's Sara's dad.

I also think that Dante is Sara's sperm donor and that deserves a revelation.

Deborah did hire thugs to attack Simon. That qualifies as a crime she can go to prison for. She may do this to others in future. If that is the only thing she has done that can be punished by man's law, the dredging up of the del Monte boys' pasts is something punishable by karma. None of these guys deserve that.

What is still mystifying me is Pedro's determination to blacken Juan's image and rep when it could destroy the company and leave them all heavily in debt or worse. That makes no logical sense.

At some point, it will be revealed that Sev is Paloma 's bio father and is inline for the herencia. Who will make this revelation , and how will the brothers react? Also, if we are right about Dante being Sara's bio father , how will that be revealed ? Sara will have no rights to an inheritance . However,I am sure that Juan and Sara will get married , so she will stay at the hacienda . Will Sara forgive Deb for all her lies and schemes ?

When will Pedro realize that Dante is working with Deb against him and all the brothers ? Maybe Tadeo will do more eavesdropping and tell Pedro what Dante and Deb are doing .

" ...yeah, the Patio has a long memory and can hold a grudge."
Adriana - I love this. LOL!!!!!

Urban - Pedro's behavior makes no logical sense because he is c-r-a-z-y.

Sara didn't really care about the inheritance until the most recent development with Juli Stepford and Pedro's efforts at throwing shade on the brother who tried to protect him when they were kids. Sara can work anywhere in the world once she frees herself from that gold-digging egg donor of hers. She should throw her off the ranch while she still has the theoretical authority to do it.

As for Pedro, I think he does have affection for Tadeo who is a cute and smart kid. I watch his facial expressions when he is interacting with him and I thi k his affection is real. However, he is still very damaged by Aurora who is either stupid, delusional, or evil (including greedy) in wanting anything to do with the two sons she abused.

I would also love to see Daniel Elbittar as a galan. He has all the qualifications, but he may be having more fun playing evil. Victor Gonzales -- who was hotter than a ghost pepper in La Candidata -- seems to prefer playing evil, which he is now doing in Ricos.

Doris, yes Pedro thinks he is the sharpest knife in the drawer , but he doesn't realize that he is his own worst enemy and that what he is doing will hurt him as well as Juan. One of my mother's favorite expressions was " Don't cut off your nose to spite your face. " and that is what Pedro is doing .

I had my hopes up when the brothers and Sara had that group hug in the church , but Pedro is still set on pulling a fast one with Dante and doesn't seem to realize that Dante could literally stab him in the back without a moment of regret

I still don't think Paloma is Sev's. I don't buy, I think that's a misdirect. You have Modesto's previous flashback with Sev saying there was nothing going on between him and (I forgot her name). Then you have Sal's flashback where you can read Sev's lips saying he is Paloma's father, but I think the fact that you couldn't actually hear any of Sev's dialect is telling, I think it tells you that Sal wasn't actually listening to anything Sev actually said to him, but rather hearing what he thought and what he was afraid was true. I do think Juli might be Sev's though, which would be much more entertaining!!!

Adriana Noel, I laughed out loud at "...(since she said that she'd rather die than have his child - yeah, the Patio has a long memory and can hold a grudge)". Hysterical!!

Victor Gonzales -- who was hotter than a ghost pepper another good one Urban!

Enjoying everyone's comments and POVs.

So, the other day I googled Daniel Elbittar. He and his wife just had their second son and the photos I saw melted my heart. Nothing is sexier than a good looking man and his child. I mention this only as there has been much discussion on weather Pedro loves Tadeo. I go back and forth in terms of the character's affections but the actor sure seems to have a soft spot for children, like so many of the current galans.

Darcy, I agree in thinking Juii is Sevs. But I think Paloma is his too. A trio of daughters and one son (I still say Cornelio is his).

Diana

Diana, wow, wouldn't that be interesting if Sev fathered all those children . If so, he was very potent. How about Juan and Pedro?

Could you imagine if Sev had children all over town? They do a town DNA test and La Herencia is divided between all the children? Everyone get $372.43 thank you for playing! LOL

I have been thinking though since Lucas was disinherited the will is probably going to be invalidated eventually. We already know Dante tampered with it to create his own 'charities', what if the whole will is a fabrication??

Darcy, we don't really know what happened with the will. It seems Dante was Sev's attorney for a long time , Dec evidently trusted him. Meanwhile, Dante and Deb convinced Sev that Sara was his daughter and were scheming to steal the Jeremiah from the adopted boys. Modesto was around all that time, and we haven't seen any evidence that Modesto current thrust Dante , but he doesn't like Deb .

Dec= Sev
Jeremiah = herencia

Current thrust = doesn't trust.

Urban, I had forgotten the little detail about Deb having Simon attacked. Can you blame me; with everything that has happened since LOL

Darcy, love your assesment that everyone is Sev's heir and will get his 2 cents (literally) of the herencia. You made me laugh out loud. I'm so glad to have you back with us, looking forward to your recaps, too (no pressure!!)

There was a talk between Deb and Dante when he said that Sev did create the will and the video, but the charities are definitely bogus, Dante could have easily added a made up list to the will.

Adriana

Wonderful comments! So many possibilities.

Pedro isn't smart enough to know how dumb he is especially with Dante.

No matter what , Juan never gives me on Pedro. He will be devastated when he finds out that Pedro has been scheming with Dante against him and the other brothers. Juan has carried the heavy burden that Sev put on him in his devotion to the family . We will see how things unfold tonight .

OT...judy...I miss you. I send love and prayers your way every day .

I'm loving the conversations. Diana and Susanlynn, ITA Modesto looked ticked to have Berta serving alongside him. I'm looking forward to these two talking it out.

So Sev believed Paloma was his daughter, even telling Sal, but apparently Sev never thought Julieta could be his. Sev was all for Juan marrying Julieta, but wanted Simon to break up with Paloma. I just don't get it.

The message of this TN seems to be if you don't let go of the demons of the past, you will doom your future. Let's say Pedro convinces all that Juan is an embezzler, wins Sara, and becomes president. Would Pedro be happy then? I don't think so.

Niecie - the other message in this telenovela is for husbands to keep it zipped up in their pants and wives/women to keep their own panties on. Yeesh. This town should be named Sinful, like the Louisiana town in Jana DeLeon’s humorous series of books.

The title of this show could have been " The Sins of the Fathers. " Or maybe "Hanky Panky at the Hacienda."

Did Modesto just look the other way about all Sev's affairs?

It will be interesting to see where all these characters end up at finale time .

I think that Modesto did look the other way because he was in no position to do otherwise if he wanted to work in that town. I get the feeling that Severiano’s company is the only game in town.

I vote for “Hanky Panky at the Hacienda.”
