Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

I missed seeing Camino and Vencer last night.

It's unusual to have Monday preempted. Normally, I'd offer to put notes up on Wednesday, but that is the one day I can't do this week.

I can either do tonight, Thursday or Friday? Does anyone have a preference?

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #32 Page 1

Notes from the couch . . .

-Flashback: Claudia tells Ester she needs a boyfriend to get her out of always being in such a bad mood. Iván disagrees. He thinks she needs to find a guy so he can see his mother be in love again. That makes Ester happy.

"Just as we do not have any idea of when it will be then last day of our life, we have no idea when we will have the hope of falling in love again."

"Nobody knows when that last love can come into our life to heal a lack of love or our loneliness."


-ESTER explains to her mother that Jero is renting the apartment and that they are a couple. Claudia is in town for a routine medical checkup which Ester would have known about if she had ever responded to any of her calls. She had thought she would stay with her. Jero tells her she is more than welcome to stay. Ester is shocked but has to go to work.

It turns out that Braulio is taking Angel's place until he comes back. There is much to be done but in the meantime, Ester can bring him a cup of coffee. (okay . . . )

Ester accuses her mother of having lied to her and not having a doctor appointment at all. She doesn't like surprise visits. Claudia insists she does have an appointment. By the way, Claudia thinks that Jero is charming although he is a bit . . . basic. That being said she thinks that he will be good for Ester. Ester is upset by her judgmental nature.

That night, Claudia goes to sleep in Iván's room. Ester and Jero have to share his room. He offers to sleep on the floor. The last we see of them, they are sitting on the bed talking and joking about what the young would say about two old people liken them in this situation.


-RAYO tells Chepina all of the reasons that she thinks that her father is Misael. Everything revolves around Guadalajara and tortas ahogadas are from there, too. Chepina downplays any connection to Misael. It is impossible. Rayo is adamant she will find out who her father is.

Rayo seems to have been semi-convinced by Mati ( this is not good) to at least take a look at an apartment as a possible place to live in her scheme. Two elderly ladies live there who are at death's door. A cousin of hers worked for them a few years back. When they get to the building , they find out that is no longer a possibility because the building is due to be demolished because of damage it suffered in the last earthquake. Mati says they'll find her a new place.

Flavia points out her damaged truck to Braulio and finds out he was the one who reported Rayo. She thinks that was a great thing to do. If she isn't sent to an orphanage, she could end up in prison. She is sure Rayo and her friends are responsible. They even slashed 3 or her 4 tires. Little do they know that Mati with her gang are watching and listening

Mati has a new challenge for Rayo: to get even with Braulio. She has given her a knife and sedan her gang all stand around the front of Braulio's car. They egg her on to do something. (slash his tires?? scratch up the hood??) (not smart)

Rayo finally goes home to Julia who is not pleased that she has been out so late no matter where she has been. Rayo makes a comment like it isn't like she is going to be living there the rest of her life anyway. Julia recognizes the stress she is under. She says who knows is she will be living there with them the rest of her life or not but assures her that between her and Ester they will make there she is taken care of. She gives Rayo a hug saying that she, Ester and her whole family are there for her.

-JULIA cannot believe how she got carried away kissing Angel. She is out of there leaving Angel smiling.

Chepina notices that she is upset and Julia confesses that she is upset about what happened with Angel. Chepina thinks that it must have happened for a reason.

Chepina tells Julia about Rayo's suspicions that Misael could be her father. Rather than shutting down that possibility, Julia says that it was a fact that Misael loved tortas ahogadas and more than oncein front of everyone, Misael announced that Margarita made the best ones. What to think with all of the lies Misael told?

Celeste stops by looking for Rayo. Julia says she is not there. Celeste starts to rag on Julia for not getting her enrolled in school. Julia says little by little they are taking care of things and they aren't throwing Rayo out into the street like Braulio did from her home. He also called family services on her. Julia says that she is not like Celeste who lets other people tell her what to do. She closes the door in Celeste's face.

Julia makes it clear to Rayo that she is going to have to go back to school.

Ana Sofí takes a photo of her with Angel the love of her life to post on her social media. Of course, Gina sees it and has to tell Julia that Angel and Ana Sofí are back together again.


-CELESTE is being further socially isolated by Braulio. There is no need for her to leave the apartment for anything. He tells her if that "cretin" of a brother calls her she is not to answer. She asks what if Rayito stops by. He doesn't want her in his house either. He laughs when she says she feels lonely. Next, he nixes her "friends" Ester and Julia who do not care about her. He mentions that Ester is now living with some guy in her apartment.( . . as if that is a bad thing!)


-JERO explains the situation to Claudia. Claudia already knew that Ester was living with a man because Flavia told her (poor Ester having those two colluding against her) but she wanted to see him with her own two eyes. She asks him to not tell Ester and he agrees. She came to check him out and thinks that he seems to be a decent man. Yes, he knows what a terrible time Ester is going through. Claudia hopes he can help her get through it. (so do I)

Ebe wants to be on his own and go to the USA to make some real money. Adair says if Ebe goes, he is going, too. Jero tells them NO. He understands that both boys want to make some money. He says that he is going to get them both jobs where they can make not a fortune but some good money. (food truck work/repair??)

Jero tells Flavia that he is happy about them going into business together. She says they have to make it legal with paperwork. He agrees. He says that s going to get the truck fixed. He did car painting work in the USA as well as many other things. He worked at an aquarium, an amusement park. . . he is a jack of all trades.

-MAX tells Teo that he is moving out today. Flavia overhears and warns him that if he thinks his father is still going to be close to him, he needs to think about what happened with Iván. Max explains that is why he wants Teo to come stay with him. Flavia says over her dead body. Teo tells them both that he will not be used as pawn in their dispute. He will always be a son to each of them no matter what. (kid is more mature than his parents)


-ANGEL is visited by Ana Sofí at the hospital. Mirna told her. Angel says that the men who beat him were her father's thugs. She cannot believe it!!! He says he knows that her father ordered the beating because he could not stand that he rejected her.

Ana Sofí ends up taking him home. (Not a smart move on Angel's part) Once at his apartment, he makes it clear he is grateful for her help but it does not change how he feels about her and what he told her. He does not want her or her father, who had him beat, near him. He tells her again that he has made his decision about not marrying her and he will not change his mind. He tells her again he doesn't love her and she answers with okay BUT . . . she will be around until he changes his mind and feels better. She tells Mirna she is sure that they will reconcile.

Silvano comes to see Angel at his daughter's request. He denies having resorted to such a common act as having Angel beat up but does make it clear that if Angel does not marry his daughter, his company will soon be bankrupt because he will make sure they have no customers left.

Angel packs up and decides to go stay somewhere else as long as Ana Sofí is at his apartment. She goes upstairs and he goes to send Julia a text telling her that he has not been able to stop thinking of that kiss. She texts back asking why he is sending her this text if he is back with his novia. He says she is jealous. She asks what is going on. He wants to see her because they need to talk. He needs to explain his situation with Ana Sofí. (really??? there should be NO situation with Ana Sofí. He should move out and then when he is strong enough, move her out if she is still there.) He asks if they can see each other tomorrow. She never gets around to answering him.

That night Angel is sleeping on the couch and smiles thinking of Julia and Julia smiles thinkng of Angel. He says they have to see each other another day because he wants to clarify things. As he is waiting her her text to come through Ana Sofí snatches his phone away. She cannot believe that he is in communication with Julia. (Why does he not throw her out of HIS apartment??)


-ARMANDO has shown up for work with a bruised arm. He lies and tells Homero he got it in a fall on the micro bus. You know how those micro drivers are!!! Next, he gets a message reminding him to keep quiet because a call from the boss can send him right back to a jail cell. He needs to take advantage of the opportunity he has been given and not feel sorry about the beating they gave to Angel. Armando also has a major problem: Mirna is no longer interested in him.

-DONATO is trying to plan his wedding with Lerna who suddenly doesn't see what the rush is. First she quotes a law that said a divorced woman couldn't get remarried for one year after her divorce. Donato tells her that is not the law in Mexico City. She next uses money as the excuse. She doesn't want them spending so much right now. Donato looks worried. (as he should be)

I felt sorry for Donato because Lenar is clearly giving him the run-around. It is so funny but just this afternoon I was watching Agustín Arana playing the despicable snake in the grass male chauvinist pig Omar Carvajal in “La fea más bella” and here he is portraying such a decent kind man.


 

Camino #19 Part 1

We open with Memo and Daniela standing close together, his hand gently on her shoulder as they move in for a gentle but passionate kiss. Suddenly, the illusion is shattered as Daniela wakes up, looking pensive and clutching her gown.

After gorging herself, Karen is now punishing herself on the treadmill, spilling tears of frustration.

A head bandaged Isabella is having breakfast in bed as Daniela sits supportively by her. Fausto comes in and sits, putting on a stomach-churning show of playing the caring father. Dani and Fausto tell Isa that she has stitches and needs to be careful. Falso Fausto promises to come home early and read Isa a story…

Ursula enters a shirtless Memo’s carrying a pink bag adorned with a unicorn and a rainbow. For Isa he asks uncertainly, furrowing his brow. Yes, she answers, she sees how fond Memo is of Isabella. Ursula stares at him positively wolfishly and moves in close for kisses. Memo does not look thrilled, obviously taken aback. He actually tells her that she threw him a curve!

What exactly is the problem with Fausto Eugenio asks Karen. She wants him to give Fausto his inheritance so they can buy him out and he can leave! This is too drastic he demurs. Eugenio will not go along with Karen. He feels guilty and blames himself for Fausto’s father’s death. He will not go against his last wishes!

Memo tells Ursula Isabella is very special and that she has his heart.

Karen enters Fausto’s office, throwing a folder down on his desk, demanding he sign his letter of resignation. He looks at her scathingly and says, “you’re running me out of…my company?” He smirks that he isn’t leaving until he gets his shares and the power he should have had in the company. He rips up the papers in her face and unceremoniously throws her out of his office!

Camino #19 Part 2

Good morning Memo greets Dani; “how is Isa?” She stares but is clearly nonplussed. “How are you” he asks concerned as he puts his hand on her shoulder. She stares at his gesture, no doubt remembering her dream. She steps back and smiles. Are you sure you are ok he asks? Yes, she says laughing. He gives her the present from Ursula, and she thanks him. As he leaves, her eyes (and heart) follow him. No need to put a fork in her, Daniela is done.

We see a very pretty Amparo in a (rather low cut) red print dress, hair down. Guitar music plays as Eugenio enters the restaurant for her photo shoot. Macario makes a fool of himself, pointedly kissing Amparo as his eyes bore into Eugenio. Eugenio looks away, embarrassed for him as Amparo herself moves away. Rather than being the subject of the photo, Amparo has other ideas. She leads Eugenio over to a portrait of her mother and tells him she would prefer it if they use her mother’s image.

Macario explains to Fausto that he hasn’t been able to convince Amparo to sell. Fausto tells Max to find and give him all the documents relating to the property so he can review them.

Chuchita and Memo have a talk as Isabella runs to him. He kisses and hugs his dear daughter and gently caresses her face. She wants Memo to color with her, but he regretfully can’t. She asks him to tell Ursula she likes the coloring book! Chuchita takes her and as she leaves, she winks at Memo, and he winks back (so adorable) as she waves to him.

Macario is searching for docuemnts as Ursula surprises him. He puts music on and dances with Ursula rather a bit too closely. Ursula worries about the relationship Dani and Memo will have once Dani finds out that Memo is Isa’s father. Macario advises that she get pregnant right away!

Isa and Dani are in Dani’s bedroom as Dani recalls her first (and sadly only) kiss with Memo. Isabella is enchanted as she tells her mother how much she enjoys seeing her smile the way she is smiling now! Viewerville is also grinning ear to ear as we know Memo is the source of that smile!

Amparo in a different (and albeit more modest) pretty white and red dress offers Eugenio something to eat but he declines and shakes her hand. She sighs. The patio wonders if it is relief the “shoot” is over or is it something else?

Camino #19 Part 3

Sebastian and Lupita have quite the conversation. The upshot of it is that Sebastian doesn’t buy that Lupita is going out with Mau. He is no idiot!

Chuchita is showing an unenthusiastic Daniela several pieces of clothing. She is not happy to learn Chuchita will be making Ursula’s wedding dress.

Memo is hearing Amparo’s words reverberating in his head and stops in his tracks, looking crestfallen.

Daniela is so conflicted about her emotional turmoil, who else would she confide in but Karen!! Ack. While she notes Fausto is treating her and Isa better than ever, she spills the very hot tea that she and Memo shared a kiss! Meanwhile, hiding behind a bush, Memo is trying his best to eavesdrop.

Macario meets with Fausto to give him the papers. It seems Fausto has found enough to force the restaurant to be closed! Macario evil smiles that this might be the push Amparo needs to sell.

Distraught Dani repeatedly says that the kiss meant nothing! Yet, she cannot forget about it. She is indeed starting to have strong feelings for Memo. Karen seizes on this and cruelly advises Daniela to use Memo and then, fire and get rid of him. It would teach Fausto a lesson for all he has (not) done. Daniela replies that she can’t do that, she won’t do that. She begs that Karen be discrete and keep all of this to herself.

As Fausto doesn’t want anyone to know he is involved in the plot to have the restaurant closed, he has Macario do his dirty work. We see Macario handing over the “evidence” to a judge. When the judge asks why Macario would do this against his wife, Macario explains that Amparo refuses to sell! The reprehensible judge says he “gets it.” He also tells Macario that he doesn’t have enough to close the restaurant but suggests that he work to get them what they need. Of course, snake in the grass Macario agrees!

Camino #19 Part 3 (Last)

Ursula shows Memo Chuchita’s handiwork which he likes. Ursula looks far less enthusiastic but agrees to have her make the wedding dress, but only because of Chuchita’s relationship with Isa. Ursula goes to kiss Memo but to her chagrin, he pulls away.

As Memo leaves, he runs into Amparo. He confesses that he overheard Daniela telling Karen she was starting to have feelings for him!

JuanPa asks Daniela how Isabella is. The day darkens when Fausto comes home. He asks for Isa as JuanPa takes it in.

Amparo chides Memo, asking if he has any idea how much he is going to hurt Dani. You are the biological father she spouts, and you should have respected her, telling her the truth about Isa from the beginning! She asks if he is starting to have feelings for Daniela who is married. “Yes” is the answer as Leo arrives just in time to hear this declaration.

Macario and Humberto are discussing some papers as Macario is clearly distracted, attention diverted as he looks around nervously. Suddenly, several men enter the restaurant. Are they friend or are they foe? It appears they are the latter as the inspector pipes up saying he is there to discuss some irregularities. He wants to speak to the owner!

There we end.

Heartfelt appreciation to Rgv Chick who generously provided me with dialog that I missed and/or just did not understand. Thank you!!

Daniela is already in love and Memo isn't far behind her. How will they keep their feelings to themselves and more importantly, from evryone else? I can't wait to find out.

Another outstanding recap.

“It turns out that Braulio is taking Angel's place until he comes back. There is much to be done but, in the meantime, Ester can bring him a cup of coffee. (okay . . .)” made me laugh.

The quotes are always so interesting and make me think. "Just as we do not have any idea of when it will be the last day of our life, we have no idea when we will have the hope of falling in love again." Dying is a certainty for all but not knowing when is a blessing (for most). Love is never a certainty but the promise and hope of it is what sustains many.

I don’t understand Mati. One minute she seems to have Rayo’s best interest at heart and then the next, she’s urging her to leave the comfort of Julia’s for some hornet’s nest. Then, she wants Rayo to deface Braulio’s car (not that I couldn’t really enjoy watching but Rayo is far above it). 😊

Now that Rayo has been thinking Misael is her father, I’m thinking he’s not. But we are running out of possibilities! The only one I hadn’t considered is Max but as he is Ivan and Teo’s father, I don’t see it.

There is a time to keep hope alive and there is a time to give up. Ana Sofia needs to do the latter. Angel needs to toughen up, get Ana Sofia to leave and then change the locks. I can’t wait for Angel and Julia to get together! I wish I had some hopeful words of hope as to what Angel can do about Silvano but I have no idea how he is going to be able to hold onto the business especially if Braulio is also working against him which I suspect.

I also felt for Donato. Lenar is certainly not warm and fuzzy, but she does seem to have pulled back.

I did feel a bit for Claudia when she reached out but couldn’t quite bring herself to put her hand on Ester. Ester is clearly exasperated with her mother, but I wish these two would bridge the gap before it’s too late.

Good Morning Diana, and thank you for this fabulous recap!!! You capture the heart of every episode you recap making them a joy to read!!

The weird relationship between Mac and Ursa just gets weirder!!! What was that?? There has got to be some sort of twist behind this pairing. They are teasing it too much!

I can't believe Memo was spying on Dani trying to overhear!! Although I do believe he was probably just coming to say bye and got stopped when he heard his name. Still it's weird to see a grown man hiding behind a bush eavesdropping.

Juanpa looks like he's taking it all in, indeed! He sees what isn't right in sis's marriage!

I am surprised Karen would advise Dani to use and discard Memo, it would serve her purposes better if Dani fell in love and left Falso for Memo! I would think she would have pushed that angle. Or just sat back and said nothing since it will happen on its own.

Yep, Dani is gone and Memo is next!! :) I'm sure there's more I wanted to comment on but I slept late this morning and I gotta get moving so I'm not late for work! Have a wonderful day all!

I believe you were the first to comment on the Macario and Ursula "relationship". Strange, inappropriate, jaw dropping indeed! Macario is just cringe worthy, whether he is with his wife or his "niece". I don't think anything untoward has happened between them, but damn it's uncomfortable!

I get a kick out of Memo, I love the character. A man who loves his child is sexy indeed.

Of course you are right as usual! It makes no sense for Karen to pitch Dani "using" and then tossing Memo. The only reason she would suggest it is to hurt Dani of whom she has always been obsessively jealous.

I think Dani is going to distance herself from Memo. As if!!

Thanks, Jarifa, for another great recap. And I love being able to read the quotes in English. I never quite get them during the show-guess the Spanish has something to do with it!

I’m hoping Rayo didn’t do anything to Braulia’s car. Mainly so she doesn’t get in trouble. He is awful, I’d rather have a villain that is obvious than one that pretends to be so loving. Does Celeste really believe being confined to her apartment with no contact with other people is in her best interest! And I cringed when Braulio said he’d be using Angel’s office and computer. Think of the damage he can do!

So Ana Sophia is just going to stay until he changes his mind. How on earth did such a nice guy end up with her. And her dad is part of the package!

I thought Amando might have been one of the attackers when he had the sore arm. Thanks for clarifying that!

I think Braulio might be Rayo's dad which will make his lack of compassion toward her Even more heinous.

I love how Memo and Dani are already smitten but still reluctant to act on it. Both have significant others which is a reasonable enough cause to stay away. Its sad that they dont know about all of the b*llshit Urse and Falso have done.
I would like to see more of Chuchita and Leo. I really enjoy them together, both are wonderfully sweet.
And imho Juanpa and Lupita would make a great couple. Both are earnest, have similar values and just work better. But since this is a novela, they could never date because he's already smitten with Gaby. And Gaby and Sebas would also be a great fit, both energetic and very much out there.
Anyways, love reading the comments on the patio. I am ahead with my watching so I try not to comment, just in case. Keep up the good work!

So Kiss #2 was indeed a dream. Fool us once, shame on you (Chema, Editors); fool is twice (Kiss #2), shame on the patio. Ya’ll (wisely) called it.

I promise to let go of this, but the beard scratching started a mere 6:OO minutes into the episode.

I really enjoyed Karen’s summit with Fausto. When he told her he wasn’t Eugenio and he wouldn’t suffer her spoiled princess tantrums, I almost cheered for the guy. Then I remembered he is still Fausto. Her master plan to get him out of the business: FAIL.
Eugenio basically declared himself Bennett and not in it (unofficial business jargon). Is Leonardo Daniel actually playing a good guy this time? We’ll see!

Curvitas tripled down on the ick factor this episode. There was the coloring book gift/bribe - said gift being for Memo’s “escuincle/mocosa.” Not nice! Then there was the bizarre Dancing with the Tío segment. Can’t wait for more information on this dastardly duo.

I enjoyed Sebastián calling Lupe’s bluff with Meow (LOL) dba Mau. I really enjoyed her sister’s support in shooing Seb away and keeping the fictitious Mau & Fer alive.

Fausto & Mac’s plan to close the restaurant is unforgivable. Will we find out what’s in the box Mac snuck into the kitchen? I anticipate squeals and outrage.

Final questions: how do ya’ll like Chuchita’s fashions? How will Leonardo react to the overheard information, Re: Memo’s feelings for Dani?

I don't think Ursula is really Mac's niece . This guy is despicable going behind his wife' s back to force her to sell her restaurant just to get his hands on money that he will gamble away. ugh.

Faust sold his soul to the devil which seems to be what Fausto has also done .

So Claudia already knew about Jero from Flavia. I can't blame Claudia for coming to check him out, but Claudia should know by now that Flavia is jealous of Ester and schmoozes the facts to her own benefit.

I had hopes Armando would fess up to Angel, but he was behind that beatdown so I'm done with him.

Celeste has some nerve getting into Julia's case about Rayo.

I don’t get why that bandage is wrapped all around Isa’s head. But I guess that's better than shaving her hair where the stitches are located and just patching that part.

I'm thinking that Macario is an all-around inappropriate touchy-feely guy. Ursula seems neither bothered by or welcoming of it, like maybe that's just how crazy Uncle Mac is. I guess we'll see...

I think they edited the opening credits because last night it showed Macario with his mistress. I don't remember seeing her in the credits before.

Diana, I am also confused by Mati. Here is hoping that Rayo starts to feel some sense of security with Julia so she is not as drawn to Mati and company. Angel is too much of a pushover. He never should have allowed Ana Sofí to take him home from the hospital. Let her scream and rant. He could learn a lot from Julia. She is tough even though I could not take her loyalty to Misael after a while.

Liz, ITA that Celeste needs to start trusting herself and not old Braulio. Too bad she is pregnant and has newly diagnosed MS when she might start to realize that he only has HIS best interests at heart. Nope, Braulio on Angel’s computer doesn’t generate confidence.

Susan, glad that these resumés are giving you the info you need to keep up. “Anacandy is a barnacle.” That is perfect and made me laugh. There is othing worse than being a barnacle on the ship of life. So true about Lenar and she isn’t even good hiding it. There is so much I do not like about her.

Niecie, It was a surprise seeing Celeste on her high horse with Julia. Now, if she were only like that with Braulio when he starts to gaslight her bout whatever he feels like. Diana, no need to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your recap; you know exactly how I feel about your writing. If there were a Nobel prize for recapping, I'm sure you get it...many times over! Thank you for such a wonderful read!

Great comments one and all! Darcy, I HATE that you were right about the fantasy kiss!! But yeah, I get it...too soon :-P And " it's weird to see a grown man hiding behind a bush eavesdropping." Ha! Yep! But TBH, it doesn't surprise me coming from Memo. I can't pinpoint it, but there is something about him that doesn't fit with "truck driver." Of course, I shouldn't be anyone to judje since I have X experience with truck drivers; I 'm just going by what is depicted in movies--rough and tough :-) Memo is very sensitive and seems to lack confidence (as evidenced by the nervous beard scratching...which I will never tire of complaining about or hearing how annoying it is to others....hear me, O.S.?). Both he and Dani are acting like two nervous kids!

Lurker(from the other side of the world), WELCOME!! "Both have significant others which is a reasonable enough cause to stay away." Yes, Dani and Memo will probably spend the entire season trying to detach themselves from the tenticles of the octupuses. I'm sure we will get frustrated with Mem and Dani for trying to do the right thing because "they gave their word and made promises."

O.S. Personally I don't like Chuchita's fashions, but I can't see the stitching or the quality of her sewing; so it may be that she is a good seamstress with a unique sense of her own fashion. I'm sure Ursula is going ot give her a hard time, though.

Niecie, 'I'm thinking that Macario is an all-around inappropriate touchy-feely guy." I think so too! I have to agree that the relationship is a strange one, but I don't think there is anything more than what we are seeing...vulgar as it may seem.

Thanks, Diana and RGV Chick. This was a tough episode for me as the good guys are falling behind.
If the restaurant gets shut down I don’t think Fausto will give them the original price. He. can go lower if they’re in a bind. I just see him cheating them, which makes me happy for Macario. I would love to see him get nothing. But Amparo doesn’t deserve to be cheated out of her family business. I hope Humberto gets suspicious.

I wonder if Ursula and Macario are really uncle and niece. A creepy relationship! This is the second time they were to close for my comfort.

Sebastian seems to think a lot of himself. He found it so unbelievable that Lupita has a date with someone else. The sisters might have to come up a date for tonight!

I was thinking, during the girl talk, that if Karen can convince Dani to follow her heart then she would get Fausto be default. I completely missed she wanted Dani to do it just to make Fausto jealous. I agree the better idea is to help the romance along!

Wanting something good to happen tonight!

It always surprises me that people who themselves have failed to help reproach others for 'not doing what they think they should have done.' I find it odd because someone in Celeste's shoes should have realised that Julia can just as easily point out that Celeste let Braulio throw Rayo out. Maybe she does that because she isn't afraid of Julia whereas she doesn't seem to nbe that brave with Braulio. I just find it so odd people don't think twice before speaking when they know deep down that they themselves failed to do their best. Claudia calling Geronimo 'basic' was somehow rather irritating. I think this just reminded me too much of people who move to big cities and then trytoshow their 'class' to those who live in the small town they left. That' basic' man did far more for Ester than Claudia has done. And who does she think she is? What is so special about her that makes her 'not basic'? It's hard for me to stand her as she just is so tactless and unaware of the effect her presense and her way of handling that relationship has on Ester. So she saw Geronimo and now what? Does she think that if she had said she thought he was no good Ester would have listened? I think she's just way more rude and insensitive than Greronimo. I've heard a saying that we dislike the things in other people that we ourselves have. So maybe that's the case here.
It's hard for me to watch spineless men without screaming. That's why I was annoyed with Angel. You don't love her and told her it's over. Why oh why do you let her take you home then? I bet even Ana Sofi's obvious 'Iam staying till you change your mind' statement won't make him throw her out

O.S. yes, seeing Leonardo Daniel as a good guy initially seemed surprising and doubtful. But he does seem to be so here. I don’t think he’s perfect, he obviously did some wrong to Fausto’s father, but seems to have honorable intentions from what we’ve seen.

Dani and Memo “are acting like two nervous kids” is exactly right and which is why I am so enjoying their romance. They are trying to be cautious and respectful, but their attraction is undeniable. VENCER #33 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . . Whew! Things are getting complicated.

-FLASHBACK: One Year Earlier

Santino was pressuring Ana Sofí to get married to Angel already. They had been going out for three years at the time. She stated that Angel's priority was to get his own business off the ground and not become involved in his father's. If her father was planning on satisfying his OBSESSION to become a partner in the Funes trucking business, he could forget about it. He told her she was OBSESSIVE compulsive just like him. The only difference was that she was unable to achieve her goals. She insisted that was not true. She always got what she wanted. He called Zac and told him to find somebody who could work at Funes and be their "inside guy."

The theme of this episode was : OBSESSION

PRESENT

1. Ana Sofí insults Julia. He tells her to stop it and to have some respect. Angel first tells Ana Sofí there is nothing between him and Julia but then admits that he does feel something for her. Ana Sofí FINALLY leaves with her luggage in a huff. Julia agrees to see Angel tomorrow.

2. Julia admits to Chepina that she does feel something for Angel but she has a lot on her plate. She is thinking about how to handle a divorce from Misael . She is worried about her son. Chepina asks Julia if she really thinks that "sin filtros" is Misael.

3. Ester sleeps in the bed, Jero on the floor. They agree they need to call each other "tú" all the time so nobody suspects the are not together. They are enjoying having somebody in the room when they go to sleep. It is something they both missed. Claudia is roaming around and seems to be listening at their door. (Claudia should have been sent packing when she arrived. She has no respect for her daughter) Ester asks him if he still has a feelings for his ex. Jero doesn't answer.

4. Chepina promises to pay Julia back all the money she lost on her "novio."

5. Mirna seems to have made a connection with a Sergio online.

6. Homero is having an "episode" and Mirna has to help Luisa, the maid, extricate herself from Homero's grip. He was trying to force himself on her thinking that she was his wife. Homero finally comes back to reality and realizing what he did, he apologizes in tears.

7. The next morning at Lerna's, the boys throw her a curve ball. They are going to work with Jero. He has found them jobs so they can start earning money. Lenar looks like she doesn't like being left out of the loop. (Wah!!)

8. When his sons see the truck, Jero explains that he learned to do everything in the USA from painting vehicles to plucking chickens. They will be learning how to paint a vehicle like he is learning trig.


 

VENCER Part 2

9. Claudia sticks her foot in her mouth again telling Ester that she got it all with a guy like Jero: a man and two sons. Ester cannot believe what she said. Claudia apologizes but cannot understand how Ester can be angry with life. Ester reminds her that she lost her only son (Duh! Hello! Ester is really tone deaf) They argue some more.

10. Mirna tells Angel that Homero tried to drag the maid into his bed. He had every intention sleeping with her. The maid Luisa decides she is quitting because she is now afraid of Homero. Angel asks Mirna to help find a replacement. Mirna refuses. Angel wonders why she is so useless. She decides to go console Ana Sofí instead.

11. Julia visits Ester and tells her that Braulio called family services not Flavia. Julia suggests that Rayo takes turns living with each of them. It is the least they can do for Margarita and Rayo s a good kid. Ester cannot commit. Jero holds the lease to the apartment and her mother is visiting. Rayo gives in and says the Rayo can stay with her. Ester is not pleased with how Celeste allows Braulio to control things.

12. A neighbor tells Braulio she saw Rayo and her group standing around his car last night. He looks at his car but there seems to be no damage. It turns out that Rayo refused to damage Braulio's car. One of the guys bet that she wouldn't and won the bet! Mati and her crew poke fun at Teo.

13. Flavia and Teo meet Jero's sons as they work on the truck. Later, Ariel and Erik stop by as well as Gina and Rayo. Gina gives Erik the cold shoulder. It looks like Ebe could also be interested in Gina. (Even the kissy-kissy bicep routine was getting old for Ariel. I have had to see it in TWO novelas so it is real old for me. Erik need a new schtick) )

14. Ester and Julia go to see Celeste. Ester asks how she could be Brauliio's accomplice. She allowed him to run Rayo out of her home. Julia asks if it didn't bother her not to defend Rayo. She tells them both that now Rayo is convinced that Misael is her father because of something that Margarita wrote in a book of recipes. Since Misael was a liar, Julia doesn't know what to think. Rayo needs a family so she is OBSESSED with looking for her father wherever it might lead. Ester says you never know because she has reasons to believe that Iván had something going on with Margarita.

15. At the gym, Ana Sofí tells Mirna that if it weren't for that slut, Angel would be begging her to take him back. Mirna doubts he is going out with Julia but adds that Angel is done with her (Ana Sofí). It is time for Ana Sofí to move on. She tells Mirna that her problem is that she comes off as too needy. Mirna says she has a date with Sergio after the gym. Ana Sofí tells her to research him on line to find who he really is. She also should cancel her date with him to see if he is really interested. (one hare brain leading another)

16. Santino tells Armando he is not pleased with his lack of progress with Mirna. Armando says they have kissed. Santino wants him to seduce her, dominate her, marry her. Santino needs Armando in the family and then the company to gain power at Funes. That is that is the only way that Santino can weaken Angel's position of power. Santino wonders if Armando's lack of progress is because he has really fallen for Mirna. Armando says no.

17. Rayo meets with Teo so they can investigate who her father is together. They look at her mother's recipe book. Rayo notices that whenever her mother used the term "máximo" in a recipe, that she capitalizes every letter. Could Máximo be her father, too? That is one uncomfortable thought for both Rayo and Teo.
 

VENCER Part 3

18. Celeste isn't impressed that her two friends are attacking Margarita who cannot defend herself (yeah, she is dead! Duh!) Ester says truth be told, nobody knew nothing about Margarita's private life. She never told anyone who Rayo's father was. Celeste says she never told her either. Celeste tells them that she found out that when they all went up to Nuevo Laredo, Margarita never went to see Cuca. Braulio also traced the texts Rayo was sending to Margarita's phone that were being read by some mystery person up to somewhere in the USA. That could point to Misael having it. After the usual arguing, Julia is done defending Misael and tells them she thinks that he is alive on Padre Island

19. Claudia gets a visit from Max who is surprised to see her there and not Ester. Max is also surprised by Ester's romance and says that Jero seems like a good guy. Claudia is worried about Ester because she is angry with life. Max understands Ester and says that losing a child is such an immense pain that you never get over it. (Duh!!! Claudia needs to get packing) That is why he wants to talk to her about Iván's ashes. He asks if Claudia would give them to him. Claudia says no; that is between him and Ester.

20. Ester goes beserk knowing that Julia has more information and has not given it to the police. Julia says she hasn't because of the effect this is having on her son. She needs more time. Ester scoffs at that. Celeste asks them to stop arguing. An OBSESSED Ester says it doesn't matter if they are interested in finding out the truth or not, she is.

21. The doctor tells Angel and Homero that he can increase the dose on his medicine and that should help for the time being. There is nothing more that can really be done since the disease is progressive. So he does not have to leave his father alone, Angel asks Julia to come over to his house to talk.

22. Ester comes home to Max and Claudia. She makes a joke about Flavia yelling at him for being there and he lets her know that they are taking a break from their marriage. Ester hopes that they can iron out their differences. She does have a question for him. Does he have a key to their storage area? He says yes and asks why?

23. Ana Sofí calls Gina to be her personal assistant. Ana Sofí turned down Mirna when she volunteered earlier. Ana Sofí tells Gina she is on a free trial basis which means she will not be getting paid. She tries to tone down some of Gina's exuberance and tells her about the low class girl Angel is running around with. Gina mentions a job she has that afternoon (modeling at the fashion show for Ariel). Ana Sofí asks her to explain if what she doing right now with her is work or not???

24. Julia will see Angel at his house. She also has to go to the fashion show and take notes for Ariel.

25. Ester asks Jero to do her a favor. She has him come to Flavia's storage area with her since she now has the key. She finds a document from Funes in Margarita's belongings. The document was for Margarita and was dated 15 years ago. It showed some kind of settlement she was paid in the amount 40,000 pesos. Ester sees this as more proof that the accident where her son died didn't happen like they all thought it did.

26. Braulio comes home with flowers for Celeste and a bag full of things. On top, is a real estate brochure for a gated community. She remembers him talking about wanting to be able to move to a nicer area.


 

VENCER Part 4

27. Julia visits Angel. She tells him she will help him find a new maid. Julia informs him that the kiss was a mistake. He is shocked. Didn't she feel anything? She explains that just because she is disappointed in Misael doesn't mean that she feels something for him. She doesn't want him to be disappointed by something that will never happen. (yeah yeah yeah. NEVER say never)

28. Santino tells Zac that they finally have located Misael. He cannot be allowed to talk to anyone. If he tries, he needs to be silenced. Nobody can know that he was behind what went down in Laredo. Zac asks if he is talking about the accident.

We never get an answer and are held in SUSPENSE until the next episode.

CAMINO Ep. 20 Part 1

The inspector asks to talk to Amparo. Meanwhile, Leo is blowing his hat off (not really, the hat is steadfast!) and chides Memo for falling in love with Dani. Memo doesn't know how it happened--Dani is incredible and has done so much for Isa! Amparo agrees that Dani is a wonderful woman, but that doesn't change his reality--he's getting married in three weeks!! Memo is muy confused! Amparo warns that Isa will be the one who will suffer the consequences. They are interrupted by Gaby who tells Amparo that the inspector is there asking for her.

While Amparo is talking to the inspector, Mac the Rat is busy in the kitchen putting a screw in the food that will be served to the inspector. After the inspector finds the screw, everyone starts jumping because of --mice!!

Leo warns Memo that Ursula will hit the roof if she finds out about Memo's feelings for Dani. Memo shares that Ursula's attitude has changed and explains how. Memo still doesn't know what to do--he is confused. Leo advises that Memo tear Dani out of his heart.

The inspector closes down the restaurant. Memo and Humberto try to intervene but the inspector lists all that he found. When the inspector adds that their license expired 5 months ago, Amparo looks accusingly at Mac.

Humberto tries to convince the inspector not to close them down, but the inspector won't budge.

Oh dear, Isa wants a little brother and Dani and Fausto asks why they don't adopt. The gall of Mac to also plead with the inspector not to close them down! As the inspector leaves, Humberto falters and collapses!! Everyone panics.

Isa doesn't care if she has a sister or a brother, she just wants a sibling. Fausto tries to convince her that she would have to share half of everything, but Isa doesn't care.

Cesar asks how things are going with getting him his money. Ursula replies that she has a plan and should have the money in a few days. And she adds that this is the last time she will have sex with Cesar.

Humberto comes to and refuses to go to the hospital...they have more serious problems there. After some insistence, Humberto agrees to be taken to the hospital. As Amparo cries about everything that happens, Mac gives her a consoling hug, but Amparo pulls away and ask for an explanation--why wasn't the license paid for? And as usual, Mac lies through his rotten teeth!

JuanPa tells Sebas that he is going to see Gaby. Sebas wants to go with him just to see if Lupita is really going out with the other guy, but JuanPa refuses to take him.

Humberto is in bed complaining that he should be with Amparo. Gaby insists that he stay in bed and tells him she worries about him. Humberto thinks Gaby would make a good nurse.

Memo tells Ursula about the closing of the restaurant and adds that something like this has never happened. Mac thinks that Amparo has been distracted because of the book (can someone please slap him?!) As they talk another mouse makes a showing. When everyone leaves, Ursula praises Mac for doing such a good job of having the restaurant closed.

Chema goes to see his grandfather and wants him to eat his little turtle because he read a story where a Chinaman was cured y eating the shell of a turtle. Humberto won't eat Chema's turtle but appreciates such a wonderful gesture.

 

CAMINO Ep 20 Part 2

Dani and Fausto talk about Isa's suggestion. They both agree that this is not the time to bring another child to their home. (Viewerville collectively gives a sigh of relief.)

The doc tells the family that Humberto needs to have tests done before giving a final diagnosis. Humberto assures everyone that he is feeling better and doesn't want the tests, but Memo and Amparo insist that he have the tests. When Humberto argues that they don't have enough money for the tests, Amparo declares that if they don't have the money to care for him and to pay for the license, she has no alternative but to sell the property. An eavesdropping Mac grins.

Memo and Humberto try to convince Amparo that she can sell the property, but Amparo insists that Humberto's health is most important.

JuanPa tells Gaby that he overheard Fausto say that one of the secretaries had resigned and he is willing to talk to Fausto so that Gaby can take the position. Gaby shows her appreciation with kisses.

Humberto tells Amparo that he will undergo the tests if she agrees not to sell the property. They reminisce about Martina selling tamales in the streets.

Sebas calls JuanPa and asks if he saw Mau pick up Lupita. Mau tells him that Lupita canceled the date because of the incident at the restaurant with the closing of the restaurant and her grandfather collapsing. Sebas quickly calls Lupita, but Gaby doesn't let Lupita respond.

Dani notices that JuanPa is out of sorts so JuanPa tells them about the closing of the restaurant. Afterwards, JuanPa follows Fausto out and asks that Fausto hire Gaby as a secretary; and Fausto actually agrees!

OMG, Leo took of his hat!!! as he talks to his mother and assures her that they will take care of their father. Later Leo calls Chuchita and plays the pity me card because seeing her would help with his heartache, but Chuchita tells him she can't leave...they can see each other some other day.

Memo goes to see Dani who expresses her regrets about the closing of the restaurant. She then tells him that he needs to go deliver some plants to the Altamirano house...but she won't be going with him. Memo scratches his beard as he leaves...disappointed that Dani is being cold and distant.

Gaby tells Amparo that JuanPa has gotten her a job at the construction company. When Amparo is leery about Fausto's intentions for giving Gaby a job, JuanPa assures her that there are no ill intentions and this is a good opportunity for Gaby. Amparo concedes but Gaby has to still help out at the restaurant after she returns from her job.

Karen tries to tell Memo that he got the wrong idea about what he saw at the party (where he videotaped her and Fausto). When he tells her that he has no interest in other's romantic relationships, Karen questions if his own relationships interest him...Dani told her everything! She asks if he is there for the job or because he likes Dani...is he looking to destroy Dani's marriage so he can stay with Dani?

And with that million dollar question, we END!

Rgv Chick, with a wave of your magical wordsmithing, you deftly described all the treachery, collusion and conflicts, yet managed to find a ray of light and add wry humor. Marvelously done.

“Meanwhile, Leo is blowing his hat off (not really, the hat is steadfast!)” was fabulous and had me laughing away. “Amparo pulls away and asks for an explanation--why wasn't the license paid for? And as usual, Mac lies through his rotten teeth!” was my favorite. If I were Amparo, I might also have asked my husband how that four-inch nail ended up in the inspector’s food and how those four mice came out at just the wrong time but perhaps that’s just me 😊

Macario is such an adept eavesdropper but sadly, as he is thick as a brick, has no real opportunity to put his talent to good use. I must admit the actor is a scene stealer and Alberto’s grimaces and facial expressions were exceptional tonight.

It was hard to watch Dani resolutely and firmly put distance between herself and Memo. Hopefully something happens soon to change that.

When JuanPa first approached Fausto about the favor for Gaby, Fausto said something like you aren’t going to ask me for money are you? What a louse. Gaby played at having an office job but has she actually held one?

Poor Humberto…his collapse was an unexpected bonus for Fausto as Amparo is already considering selling. Let’s hope she changes her mind.

So, Ursula is “done” with Cesar?? Memo better think quickly or he will soon be walking down the aisle and married. To the wrong woman!

I hope Memo ignores Karen and just keeps walking. Either that or just stomps on her as she crawls on her belly and hisses. She is just horrid.

I just have a few notes:

How sweet was Chema offering Tamborina selflessly for Humberto’s salvation (based on Seb’s tutelage, no less)?

Mac’s machinations keep adding a giant anvil to cart. Úrsula quickly figured it all out, and I can’t unsee Mac’s tribute to Ozzy Osborne with the mouse. Ew!

Humberto was my Player of the Night with his dramatic reaction to the restaurant closure, his tenderness with Chema, and his unyielding support of family. Bonus points for dismissing the doctor’s orders and learning me that matasanos = quack!

Looking forward to patio’s review.

Jarifa, you explained and made sense of a ball of confusion. I missed much and had intended to watch a later airing tonight, but with your all-encompassing, illuminating observations and insightful analysis, there was no need.

“She also should cancel her date with him to see if he is really interested. (one hare brain leading another)” and “(yeah yeah yeah. NEVER say never)” had me laughing out loud.

If not for the flashbacks, I never would have guessed Celeste, Ester and Julia were once good friends. To say the dynamics have changed would be an understatement. Celeste continues to be purposefully blind to Braulio’s manipulations; Ester will not try and fight the grief that is stifling her but has let it drive her so that she is losing control and objectivity. Julia seems to have made the most progress and is at least now no longer delusional about Misael. And exactly who was Margarita? Private and secretive certainly but we don’t know enough to made a definitive declaration.

When I speculated earlier that Maximo might be Rayo’s father, I wasn’t serious (more or less). Now that does seem a distinct possibility. I was so glad Rayo didn’t deface Braulio’s car. For her sake, not for his! 😊

Angel cannot continue to keep Homero at home. He is a danger to himself and to others. And Mina is totally useless.

At least Claudia had sense enough not to give Maximo Ivan’s ashes!

So Misael is alive! I was wrong on that too. That said, I wonder for how much longer??

This story is so intricately wound, just when you think you have figured one thing out, there is another knot to unravel.

Thank you RGV Chick for this thorough yet succinct and snappy recap! I had such a long day yesterday that I found myself zoning out during the episode and I kept thinking 'That's okay RGV chick will tell me what I missed!' :)

Chema and the turtle was so cute! They sure did win the cute kid lottery with this show! It's beyond charming the way several of these actors are so interact with these little kids in such heart warming ways! It adds a little sunshine when things get bleak. Even Ursa is great when they give her the odd scene of dropping the attitude and just reacting to Chema.

I just couldn't handle Mac trying to console Amparo after he caused the whole mess!!! What a $%#%$%#!!! The gall of some people and I really can't understand how Amparo isn't on to him. She suspects up to a point, but then she doesn't.... frustrating!!

Isa asking about a sibling had me think, Dani assumes she has fertility issues I'm sure based on her past, but since we know that Karen was impeding her pregnancy success there's no reason to think Dani actually does have an issue. She isn't engaging in any behavior to result in pregnancy at the moment but if she starts she may be surprised to find herself become easily and quickly pregnant.

Of course, we have to get past Ursa's fake pregnancy first, unless Cesar gets her real pregnant one of these days when she's sleeping with him for the last time! LOL

Diana, interesting comment about “If not for the flashbacks” one would never know these women were “once good friends.” I dare say just ONE of these unpleasant exchanges would have me choosing to be incommunicado. The intro flashback and last scene were both shockers. Why is Silvano obsessed with Funes? Every episode there is a new twist and turn and I cannot wait for tonight.

Claudia isn't being supportive . When you are grieving, people want you to " snap out of it."

So.. Now we are supposed to wonder if Max is Rayo's dad . My money is still on nasty Braulio. It is despicable the way he is trying to control Celeste and keep her isolated . I hope her brother shows up again.

Diana, "It was hard to watch Dani resolutely and firmly put distance between herself and Memo. Hopefully something happens soon to change that." Yes, it was! And Susana and Gabe did an excellent job of making us believe how hard it was on them too. I wonder how long that will last; hopefully not too long.

O.S. "How sweet was Chema offering Tamborina selflessly for Humberto’s salvation (based on Seb’s tutelage, no less)?" That was by far my favorite scene. Chema was super cute! and thank you for reminding us that it was Sebas who told him that story! I had completely forgotten.

Darcy, "I just couldn't handle Mac trying to console Amparo after he caused the whole mess!!! What a $%#%$%#!!! The gall of some people and I really can't understand how Amparo isn't on to him. She suspects up to a point, but then she doesn't.... frustrating!!" I couldn't agree with you more! Watching Mac try to console Amparo made my skin crawl; I wanted to smack him! And watching Amparo forgive/excuse him time after time is frustrating...she needs a good shaking to wake up and see reality. And, regarding Dani, "if she starts she may be surprised to find herself become easily and quickly pregnant." With all the miscarriages Dani has had, I don't think she would risk getting pregnant again; she may be on some type of birth control??? Not that she needs it since it seems that Fausto isn't willing to provide that "service."

So Santino has been after the business for a long time. And Ana Sofia and Angel have been dating for a long time, how on earth did Angel not see what she was like sooner. And if Ana Sophia knew her dad has been obsessed with the company why didn’t she believe he was behind the beating.

Diana, I agree with you on Mirna, totally useless. I think Angel should put dad in a good nursing home, sell the house and use any money he can to save the company. Then Mirna would have to fend for herself. But Angel will always take care of her. But when she wouldn’t even try to replace the housekeeper! As the woman of the house that should be her responsibility!

I loved how the boys are working with their dad and meeting all his new neighbors/friends. I’m hoping they’ll decide he’s a great guy!

I really don’t care if Claudia and Ester mend things between themselves. Claudia has not been at all supportive of her own daughter. She’s tactless. Did she think Jero’s sons would make up for the loss of Ivan?

In a mystery the guilty one is always a character you’ve met. So Rayo’s dad is probably someone we know.

Liz, great point about the guilty in mysteries. Poor Rayo. It looks like a real “losers’ circle” when it comes to who her father could be out of those characters we know. I was happy to see that Jero’s sons were coming around and getting to know him again.

Jarifa, I am hoping a new character will get introduced to us. But if it’s one of the three men we know I’m pretty sure they aren’t aware they’re her dad! It would be something if it was Braulio and he realizes how he treated his own daughter!

Thanks, Rgv Chick. A great recap. Those scenes with the mice creeped me out. Especially Ursula and Macario picking them up!

This was a distressing episode. I hated when Amparo talked about selling the restaurant. I hope she doesn’t have to. I know she’ll realize Macario is a gambler and a cheat but I hope it’s sooner rather than later!

Not sure how Memo still has hair in that beard. You’d think he would have scratched all the hair off!

I hope Memo walks away from Karen but I have a feeling there’s going to be a conversation between the two of them!

I was really worried about Huberto. I feel like he’s suspicious of Mac and will be the one to realize the truth.

I hope Gaby can keep the job. She may learn a few things about Fausto while she’s there. The good guys outnumber the bad guys but they never seem to realize that they are pawns by the ones that want something from them.

Ester and Jero should fake loud Making Whoopie sounds from their room at night to drive Claudia away. I don't think Claudia has any nefarious intent, but she's not helpful so time to go.

Memo had a minor competition for scratches last night. I counted one scratch for Macario, but I don't remember which scene. Things are certainly looking up for Macario, with Amparo thinking about selling so why he was nervous I do not know.

I want to see Eugenio consoling Amparo. I'm guessing he'll figure Mac is behind the restaurant's woes.

What was initially off-putting has become kinda fun. As Niecie pointed out, Memo does not have a monopoly on the scratching.

Who will be playing The Scratch Game tonight? You know it’s a bad sign when Memo is already scratching in the promo spots.

Ugh. Mac was profoundly skeevy with his maudlin “save the restaurant” performance and then looking at the inspector as if to say, “Ok, now do what you gotta do.”
