VENCER LA AUSENCIA #50 Page 1

Notes from the couch . . . just the facts edition

Not too much happened tonight.

ANGEL

Angel comforts Ana Sofí. The police talk to them as Zac and Misael watch from behind a corner of the building. The police have decided it was an accident. Ana Sofí isn't so sure noting that her father was so successful that somebody might want to do away with him. The police assure her they will do an investigation and that she can have her father's body picked from the morgue after an obligatory autopsy. Ana Sofí doesn't' want to go home or be alone so Angel lets her stay at his place. Mirna visits with them for a while but leaves when Sergio calls to tell her he is back in town. Ana Sofí manages to get Angel to have sex with her anyway. (HOW STUPID IS ANGEL???? ) He wakes up the next morning seeing her in his bed and looks disappointed in himself. (DUH!) Ana Sofí never wants the moment to end!!! Angel reminds Ana Sofí that they are just friends and that even though he and Julia have broken up, they are not getting back together. The doorbell rings and they think it is Ana Sofí's chauffeur with her clothes and belongings she needs for the day but it is Julia instead. Julia is all smiles until she sees Ana Sofí half-dressed smiling, saying "Oops!" and savoring the moment.

ESTER

Ester and Max talk. She mentions how it is odd that Jero hasn't come back yet since it is so late. Max clarifies he will be moving in in a couple of days. Max tells her that if they want custody of Denis they need to go through legal channels. Ester thinks they will have no problems because the mother is an addict. She also wants sole custody of Denis. Max will not fight her on that because he will be living there and plans on contributing financially. Ester reminds him that they will be roommates nothing more. Max thinks it must have been the same with Jero. Ester mentions that Jero still has not come back. Max thinks that Ester cares a lot about Jero. Ester tells him that Jero is moving in with Flavia which is a total surprise to Max. Later, Celeste visits Ester. Celeste says she saw Jero but he seemed different and very serious. She asks what happened. Ester says she behaved very badly with him. She was trying to push him away because she doesn't need a romance in her life right now but she does have feelings for him.

JERO

Jero takes Cinthia to a hospital. It turns out that he saved her life since she overdosed.The doctor tells him she will not be awake until the next day. He finally leaves saying he will be back first thing in the morning. He arrives at Ester's who is suddenly interested in where he has been. After a previous conversation where she made it clear that Jero didn't have to tell her anything, he decides to tell her nothing except that he will be living very early in the morning and he will be moving out the day after tomorrow. Ester is surprised and not in a good way by his cut and dried approach. (BUT SHE ASKED FOR IT)

CELESTE

Everything is hunky dory at Celeste's household. She reads online that she can expect to be symptom free from her MS until between 3-6 months after she gives birth. Braulio comes home with roses, and a bag of groceries. He announces that his "Braulio suppers" are back. She is so excited and pleased. He also has what looks like a diamond bracelet for her. His only objective is to make her happy. Angel spoils the mood when he calls to tell Braulio that Silvano is dead and that Misael was released on bail.
 

VENCER Part 2

FLAVIA

Max tells Flavia that he heard about Jero moving in. He thinks that she is interested in him romantically because she has always been obsessed with whatever Ester had. She fixed on Jero to see if she could get him away from Ester. Flavia has it out with Teo. He got a text from Mati to come out so he tells his mother he wants to go play a video game with his buddy Huicho which is a lie. She tells him no and an argument ensues when he finds out that Jero is moving in and his father doesn't know and that his mother didn't even think to ask him if he cared. Flavia tires of the discussion, tells him to just go to Huicho's and to be back in two hours. Three hours later, Teo has not returned. Flavia calls Max who tells her to just let it go already and that Teo will come home. Teo finally comes home. Flavia smells alcohol on his breath. She goes crazy saying it can't be!! Teo yells at her saying that from now on, he will do what he wants. Flavia slaps him hard across the face.

JULIA

Julia texts Celeste and Ester to let them know that Misael was released on bail. There is a lot of conversation with her son which is FF time for me. Anyway, Danny wants to give Angel a yellow t-shirt with his handprint on it as a souvenir from his activity day and to say goodbye to him since Julia told him that they wouldn't be seeing him for a while.

RAYO

Rayo goes out with with Mati, her minion and Teo. They are too young to get into a dance club so they end up drinking beers in the park. Mati calls Rayo boring because she won't drink . Teo finally gets up the nerve to kiss Mati and she starts giving him kissing lessons. Rayo almost gets caught by Doris earlier in the episode in the house. .Rayo ends up being caught like a rat in a trap by Homero later in the episode. He smiles and tells her to stay.

EVERYTHING ELSE

Gina and Erik became novios.

Camino #38

Good evening all!

Due to my limited language skills, I tried to include only what I was fairly certain was said or alluded to. If I have conveyed anything inaccurately, please do correct me! I’m equally sure there was important dialog I did not understand so please feel free to add what I missed.

The main theme tonight was angst and anguish, reflected in every scene Memo was in. It is obvious he is in torment. He was in tears throughout so I tried to include just the more important blubbering. 😊

The accompanying theme was Ursula’s frantic determination to find a way to thwart Cesar from stopping the wedding. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Will they or won’t they? We will have to wait to see.

Camino#38 Part 1

We recall the not so stealthily stolen kisses as Aaron and Karen’s (they rhyme!) moist lips touch and quickly deepen in passion and intensity. Fausto tries to ruin the mood by chiding them for bringing the boardroom into the boudoir. “Amor”, Karen purrs, let me have a minute alone with Fausto. Aaron complies. She taunts Fausto about Aaron and he is angered quickly, telling her she is his! No she says passionately, I am free! The mind is strong, the flesh weak.

Leo greets Memo at the restaurant, enthused about the upcoming nuptials. Memo is not. Leo is unable to make any headway in trying to cheer him up. And as Memo leans forward on the table, putting his head in his hands, Leo walks away exasperated.

Yolanda and Grace cackle like witches, Yolanda, completely delusional, is already envisioning herself as Mrs. Marcario #2. They bond over Yolanda’s never-gonna-happen daydreams and do unison finger points with nine-inch different colored nails.

Memo cries more to Amparo; he is having a child with Ursula; wants to cancel the wedding; he loves Daniela, an impossible love. Tears stream down his face as Amparo says “hermano” with empathy and sadness.

Dani, Isabela and Chuchita talk about the wedding. As Dani and Isa play count the apples, Daniela takes a pleasant stroll down happy memory lane including Isabela meeting Memo the first time and their sweet handshake; taking pictures of the three of them in the truck cab; Memo reaching over and grabbing Dani out of traffic and harm’s way. She hugs Isa close.

Yolanda and Macario have no sense of propriety. Worse – they have no sense of place; a hospital room and bed are not the best place to get jiggy with it. Yolanda is all over Macario ON his hospital bed when Cesar struts in the room. Yolanda preens as Macario glares.

Ursu on the floor holding her dress with tears of anger and pure frustration cascading down her face.

Is Cesar going to get amnesia and forget everything he’s just seen? Nopis. ‘Fraid not. Cesar seemed to be blackmailing him…

A red Santos truck blasts down the highway.

Camino#38 Part 2

Amparo visits Daniela and wants Isa to go to the wedding. Daniela tells her Fausto is NOT on board. She is sorry but it’s impossible. Daniela tells her though she thinks the world of Memo. Meanwhile, Karen has arrived and hides in the bushes. After Amparo leaves, Karen repeats the same old argument to Dani, e.g., Memo doesn’t love Ursula.

Ursula shows up in Macario’s hospital room wearing her pre-wedding finest, a red flowered blazer emblazoned with huge white skulls. Charming I murmur, shaking my head.

Karen mentions her father when she speaks with Amparo. She tells her Dani is her good friend and that she is the love of Memo’s life. She stiffens and spills that it was Ursula who told Fausto that Memo is Isabela’s father! Memo and Dani are in love. Karen also says there is no baby. Amparo stutters that her father went to the doctors with Memo. A deception Karen assures her. Amparo looks sick.

Ursula carries on to Macario as to what she is going to do. She is cornered. They verbally spar when a nurse comes in with a shot for Macario. Then, she gets a call and steps out of the room. Strict med protocol is abandoned as she leaves the vial and needle on the bedside table. We see an evil, bright light in Ursula’s eyes as she picks up the vial. Macario beams like the proud uncle he is.

Memo admits to Leo he is in love with Daniela; he knows it’s complicated. Leo reminds him of his duty; that Ursula is pregnant. Ursu is a good woman and loves you. Memo goes over to his wedding jacket and stares stoically.

Isabela reminds Karen and Dani that tomorrow is Memo’s wedding. She says Chema and his family are going and she wants to go too! No Daniela says sadly, your father won’t allow it. Isa puts her hands together in prayer but Dani cannot change the answer so Isa pouts and runs away.

Ursula has shed her jacket for sexy boudoir attire including her trademark fishnets. Rose petals cover the bed as Nurse Ratched, err, Ursula prepares the shot. Cesar enters, surprised but delighted. There is no expensive champagne to be seen, but there is plenty of alcohol. In cans.

Camino#38 Part 3 (Last)

Gaby tells Amparo she is back with JuanPa. Amparo asks her about Ursula but Gaby, who doesn’t realize she drank the Kool-Aid sees nothing amiss.

JuanPa kisses his sister and she turns around. He tells Dani he is back with Gaby. He said Memo seems sincere. I believe JuanPa tells her Isa is Memo’s daughter and thinks she should let her go to the wedding. She says for the millionth time Fausto won’t like it.

Sebastian and Lupita are at a bar but some of his friends show up, all fired up, wanting to do “shots, shots, shots”.

Ursu and Cesar start getting busy. Ursula stabs him with the needle but the fool doesn’t fully realize what is happening.

Memo and Amparo have one last consolation conversation. Karen’s words reverberate in Amparo’s head.

Another fool, Sebastian, is partying harder with his friends. Lupita comes over and tells him she needs to get home; the wedding is tomorrow. They keep drinking and she turns to go when surprisingly Sebastian goes up to her and is going to take her home. I hope he isn’t driving; he is drunk. They head out.

Humberto and Memo have a nightcap. Or two. Humberto congratulates him and for the first time tonight, Memo seems on an even keel.

Cesar gets up, is disoriented, and falls flat on his face. He is still muttering as Ursula gets on his back, duct taping his hands. She works intently saying tomorrow, I will be Memo’s wife. And you? Nothing.

VENCER

Jarifa, an excellent recap that shed bright light on so many emotions; regret, admittance, longing among many.

“(HOW STUPID IS ANGEL????)” was exactly right; I’m beyond disappointed. I’m proud that Ana Sofi was momentarily able to forget her heartache over her father’s death so she could rub salt in Julia’s wound. ☹ If only Julia had been a bit kinder with Angel; asking him to trust her rather than just shutting him out.

“Ester is surprised and not in a good way by his cut and dried approach. (BUT SHE ASKED FOR IT).” She did, far too many times. Tonight was the very first time I saw Ester actually show she does have feelings for Jero.

Rayo’s hair looked lovely tonight. I had to smile at the silver spaghetti strap top though which was surely meant to be worn alone not over a black long sleeve shirt! It’s hard to watch Rayo, heart on her sleeve as Mati plays with Teo like a spider on a web. Alas, Teo will need a hard lesson or two before he finds who his heart really seeks.

Has the fact Braulio is not Rayo’s father been such a relief that Celeste is no longer paying attention to her suspicions about him?? If I received a multi carat diamond bracelet, I would certainly wonder how it was paid for. I’m not sure why Celeste is choosing to ignore what must be loud alarms going off in her head.

And Mirna leaving her “bestie” at her time of need to go off with Sergio? She is useless.

I had hoped to see more of Erik. He and Gina have no real sparks as a couple but maybe I’m being hasty.

My favorite moment was Homero’s kind smile as he looked at Rayo.

Diana, thank you! Your recap as always is wonderful and flowing with compassion for most of the characters! LOL I especially appreciate it because I was so distracted last night. I watch but I didn't get half the details you provided!

I'm relieved Ursa's methods were only meant to incapacitate Cesar and not kill him! I know she's a baddie but we have enough murderers already, let her just be devious and not lethal.

I was dismayed to see Yolanda lure Grace to the dark side with some promise of invisible future wealth! NO Grace NO, run run run!!! I liked her independent free spirit. I don't want to see Stepford Yo!

Sebas really is an idiot and yes I hope Lupita drives, but then who drives Sebas back! But I get it to some degree, it's not so uncommon to reach for your comfort zone when it's offered to you and drinking and parties were Sebas's comfort and escape until recently.

Diana, It was actually nice having nothing much going on last night. Mirna leaving her “bestie” in that situation for Sergio was deplorable but just was one more example of how shallow she really is. Anyway, Ana Sofí played Angel perfectly even in her “grief”. Her “daddy dearest” would have been proud.

Thanks, Jarifa, a good morning read for me. I couldn’t believe Angel ended up on the bed with Ana Sofia. Last night I was hoping they were just in the bed, even though his morning look was telling.

I agree with you about Mirna. I can’t imagine leaving a friend in that situation. Her whole attitude was bad. She practically raced gleefully out of the house.

Ana Sofia was also quite gleeful as she waved to Julia. I felt sorry for Julia and Angel. How will he explain this!

More questions again. Why was Misael with Zac and did either one of them have anything to do with the murder? Or was Zac bringing Misael to Santino to talk about what happened to the money? I would think it’s the latter. Which makes me think Braulio, of the diamond bracelet, is the prime suspect. Diana, I agree with you. Celeste seems to have forgotten about the two bank accounts, with her name on neither one, and her questioning where the money came from.

I hated them giving Teo beer. Mato is not a nice person at all. I hope Rayo is seeing her for what she really is. And that slap Flavia gave Teo was awful.

Ester has feelings for Jero! From the credits it looked like they are together but it is taking a long time for anything to happen between them. I wonder how she’ll feel when she finds out he rescued Cinthia and saved her life.

So glad Rayo and Homero have met! Hope it doesn’t take him too long to realize she’s real!

Jarifa, thank you so much for narrating each scene . You are a superb storyteller a d I saw everything play out in my mInd's eye.

Mirna and Anacandy are cut from the same selfish cloth. Yuck. Angel is easily manipulated by Ana's kisses and hugs and just can't say " N O."

Jer has a kind heart . He tries to help people and gets little respect or caring in return. Will Cynthia be grateful? Everyone seems to take Jer's good nature for granted .

It's really funny how these people bounce from one apartment to another and one relationship to another.

Thanks, Diana, great recap. Poor Memo. He’s in a horrible position. I wonder what I would do in that situation. I guess nowadays marriage isn’t necessarily a lifetime commitment, but when I married it was. How horrible to give yourself to someone you don’t love.

I was afraid Ursula was going to kill Cesar, or have him killed! She seemed to be asking Mac something about that. And Mac has a reason to want him gone for good too. He knows about Yolanda. And Cesar could show up weeks after the wedding and prove it’s not a valid wedding!

JuanPa was so happy when talking to Dani. I wish he had said he was a fool to listen to Fausto! They’re all so unsuspecting!

What was on Memo’s wedding suit? Red things! They will be a gaudy couple!

Humberto will really feel the fool when all this comes out! Amparo should confide in her dad and maybe they could find a way out!

Sebastián was disappointing. Guess it’s not easy to break old habits!

These episodes leading up to the wedding are moving slowly. It’s been a day or two away since last week!

I'm so glad Cesar walked in on Yo and Mac--wish it had been Amparo, but oh well. ANd how funny that Cesar blackmailed Mac demanding that Mac help him convince Ursula to leave with him and then Ursula comes in asking that Mac help her "do away with" Cesar. I guess we know who the smarter one is! But I to oam gald tha Ursula only incapicitated Cesar vs. "doing away' with him.

And then we have another character do a 180--now Grace is all in with Yo? I really don't understand why they hate Amparo and the girls and want vengeance against them when it's Mac who should be their target. I might expect it from Yo, but from Grace???

Sebas seemed to be just about to ask Lupita to be his girlfriend when the old friends showed up...UGHHH! At least he opted to take her home. and yes I too hope Lupita drives. Sebas can sleep it off in the car.

They sure are dragging out this wedding! Hopefully we get to see it soon.

Ursula does appear to have wormed her way into her not quite FIL's affections, and to be fair, having the doctor corroborate everything she said would not have aroused suspicion on his part. He doesn't know what we do!!

Like you, I was trying to see what was on Memo's wedding ceremony jacket but couldn't make it out. I'm hoping the ceremony will finally take place tonight!!

That said, thank you so much for "Cesar blackmailed Mac demanding that Mac help him convince Ursula to leave with him and then Ursula comes in asking that Mac help her "do away with" Cesar". OMG, I had not understood that. I appreciate you and Liz pointing out this very pivotal event. I have a low opinion of Ursula but didn't think she was capable of murder!

I'm wondering who Macario will throw his lot in with. He has more to lose if Cesar tattles to Amparo about Yolanda. He has no real loyalty to Ursula, blood or no blood.

This is going to be some wedding!

Thanks, Jarifa. If last night's episode gave you a break, I say "hoorah!" You are doing sterling work recapping Vencer each night.

I hate that the writers through Angel under the bus. He is not this dumb. Honestly, since Ana Sofia is in grief and shock over her dad, he took advantage of her even though she did the pleading.

I'm ticked at Julia for showing up at Angel's. They've been at odds, so why does she show up without calling first and bring Danny (who's so annoying right now).

Mirna is as supportive to Ana Sofia as Ana Sofia would be to her under the same circumstances. These two "friends" deserve each other.

Yay! Ester is seeing how much she's come to value Jero's company.

For once I'm with Flavia. Her teenage son comes home drunk and yelling in her face that he'll do what he wants (while he lives in the comfort and safety of their home). I don't blame her for hauling off and slapping him. Teo, she is a pain in the a$$ but she's your mom and deserves your respect.

Whenever a man in a tn ends up doing what Angel just did, I find it hard to forgive him. What is the point of this? to show he isn't perfect? Or is it the whol men will be men thing? Geronimo is the only decent guy in this one. But I still don't see why the writers did this to Angel.
It's funny to see people getting what they'd asked for and then get upset. Ester now isn't happy. It feels a bit like a repeat of that situation with Leenar: you get what you wanted but then say 'I don't like it'.

I have zero sympathy for Cinthia. Drugs were more important than her son. I doubt she will be grateful.

Kudos to Maximo for telling Flavia off. She is obsessed with her toxic envy of Esther and her need to ruin her life.

Totally agree that Angel is an idiot. Ana Sofi used his goodness to get back into his bed.
I also believe that Misael had something to do with Silvano's "accident." Mirna is an immature brat with no sense of propriety.

It's time we found out who was Rayo's sperm donor. If it was Homero it would serve Mirna and Ana Sofi right when Angel's goodness will be even more public.

Thanks, Diana. You have certainly captured all the emotion of last night's epi. I love the way you set up Memo’s story: He was in tears throughout so I tried to include just the more important blubbering. - lol! And Nurse Ratched - you were on a roll.

In an earlier epi, Ursula told Cesar she left him because their last robbery together led him to kill a man. Yet here she is asking Mac to get rid of Cesar for good. I laughed when she suddenly slammed the needle in Cesar's arm and the poor man looked stunned. If Ursula's towing career doesn't work out, she can always model for Buns of Steel.

I makes of sense for Grace to line up with Yolanda. Grace hates Mac and he could care less about her, so why mess with his family? I'm hoping Grace meets Amparo and actually admires her. I'd rather see her fighting with her own mom

A little more of Mac's history came out last night. If I heard it correctly, Mac was in prison for fraud before he married Amparo. I had figured Amparo and Mac grew up together, but maybe not if Humberto and Amparo don't know this.

Liz, I agree that it has been hard to watch Rayo and now Teo being led down the wrong path with Mati and crew. It wouldn’t bother me at all if Mati got
picked up by the police. It might give Rayo and Teo a chance to escape relatively unscathed by her influence.

Niecie, it looks like we are doomed to have flawed galanes with Angel’s fall into bed with Ana Sofí. As for Teo, I totally agree with you on the slap. He deserved it. I think Flavia should deport the suddenly smart a$$ with his father.

They're really dragging out the road to hellish matrimony for Memo. It occurred to me that Cesar was asking for it when he made threats against Ursula because he certainly wasn't looking over his shoulder. The way she set him up and stabbed him with the hypodermic needle was seriously vicious but I think he will live to get revenge.

I doubt that they will waste that pretty dress Jesusa made for Isabella; the child will get JuanPa to bring her to the wedding. Sadly, when Fausto finds out all hell will break loose.

Sebastian is still a frat boy; no surprise.

Yolanda is an idiot. She could do so much better than Macario and should not believe any of his promises.

Here's hoping Amparo's instincts prevail tonight.

Niecie, thank you for the important information that Macario was in jail before he married Amparo. "I had figured Amparo and Mac grew up together, but maybe not if Humberto and Amparo don't know this"; you read my mind. I can't ever see Humberto allowing Amparo to marry a criminal, even if he was reformed which Macario is definitely not. There is a ruthlessness to some of Macario's stares; I think he AND his niece are definitely capable of murder.

Urban, yes, it was a highlight hearing Max accuse Flavia of everything we knew about her relentless envy of Ester. Now with Silvano out of the equation, it will be interesting to see where and how Zac, Armando and Misael
relate or not.

A few people had expressed interest in Cabo but no one's commented on it today if they watched. To the best of my knowledge, I don't think there was any discussion about recapping. Please feel free to post it if you'd like!

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #51 Part 1

Notes from the couch . . .

Question of the night: Why was Julia's mouth MIA???

1. INTRO

Misael is at Julia's playing with Danny. He goes to answer the door and it is SURPRISE!!! Angel.

"When our lives change because of some unexpected circumstance, we believe that we can be happy again if everything changed back to just the way it was before."

A few hours earlier . . .

1. Angel greets Danny and Julia at the door at his place with Ana Sofí looking on and making sarcastic comments. When Danny gives Angel the t-shirt as a gift and hugs him, Ana Sofí adds that the boy evidently doesn't have any kind of dignified role model of his own at home. Angel thanks Danny and Julia. Julia adds that they came by also so her son could say good bye to him. Angel looks puzzled. Julia explains they will not be seeing each other again. Angel is upset. Ana Sofí smirks.

2. Rayo says hello to Homero. He says hello back with a great big smile. Doris calls out to him to see if he is okay. He says everything is just fine with a memory from the past. (in the last episode he explained to Doris that ghosts were memories of the past) Rayo runs to her room to text Mati that the old guy really saw her this time.

3. Ester is still talking about her feelings for Jero with Celeste. She emphasizes she isn't a the right time in her life to pursue something like a relationship so she hasn't said anything to Jero about the way she feels. Celeste understands her need to grieve her son but she has to remember that there is always time for love in life. Ester notices the bracelet. Celeste says it was a gift from Braulio to make up for being so bad-tempered. Ester thinks the gift is great but asks Celeste to not allow him to keep controlling her. Celeste understands what she is saying but adds that beneath his hard exterior, Braulio is a good person. He has always been her support. Celeste continues saying that she has changed when she became pregnant. Having a child has made her decide the she will not allow certain things to go on. Ester asks what things? Celeste brushes it aside as nothing and says she needs to leave and find a gift for her husband.

4. Angel and Ana Sofí are all dressed for the funeral services. She apologizes but she had no idea the his friend Julia was just going to pop by. He says neither did her. She starts to try to find out more information about how he feels about Julia and he tells her to drop it. He will not be discussing Julia with her. Somehow she tries to make him feel guilty for it all. He says it is time to go to the funeral. She isn't smiling anymore.


 

VENCER Part 2

5. Julia drops Danny off at school. She assures him he can have good day having given Angel the t-shirt and having spoken to him. Danny goes into the school and she turns around and there is Misael. She wants to know what is up with him. How did he get the money for his bail? Why all the mystery? He says it came from his buddies that he mentioned to her before but it has to be kept quiet. Julia wonders if that is because his buddies have questionable reputations. He is happy having the chance to be free and not having to hide.

6. Zac and Armando discuss what is going to happen to them now that Silvano is dead. Will they ever see their money? Was his daughter aware of what was going on? Zac doesn't think she will be able to handle all of her father's "business" alone. Zac thinks that they should let the lawyer Lic. Aldrete should handle everything. Armando thinks he is too busy with Misael's case. Zac says that is all over. He spent who knows how much money for Misael's bail. When Misael got out, he cut out. He left their boss waiting for him. Armando asks if maybe they should do the same. Armando adds that they owe nothing to the Ordax family. Armando will go to the funeral home to pay his final respects but after that . . .

7. At the funeral home, everyone pays their respects to Ana Sofí. She thanks Angel for being there with her. He says it is the least he could do. He says it may not be the best time but he doesn't want them getting confused over what happened between them last night. She says there is no excuse but she read somewhere that experiencing the death of a love one can increase one's sexual desire. Angel never heard that one. Now, she has to learn how to live without her father. Ana Sofī excuses herself to make a live stream for her social media about her father's death.

8. Gina tells Chepina she is Erik's novia. Gina sees the Ana Sofí live stream. Chepina cannot believe a person would put their private life out there at a moment like that. What is wrong with her??

9. Misael is moaning to Julia about having to stay with a buddy tonight because he has no money for a room or to pay back the bail. Julia asks him what he plans on doing. He says it isn't easy but he has faith that he will be able to get through this. She hopes so because they are on separate paths now and there is the divorce. . . He thinks it is all working out like it should. He wants them to give their relationship another chance for the sake of each other and for the sake of their son. They can't do this to him. She is tired of talking about it. Misael says they are going to end up hurting the person who they love the most. He also is dreading going through the divorce in court all alone like a dog. He begs her to give him one more chance.

10. Celeste takes a photo of herself with her new bracelet. She adds a caption: "Sometimes a gift can say more than a thousand words. After so many years her husband is still spoiling her. " She sends it out on her social media. She then starts to wonder where all the money is coming from.
 

VENCER Part 3

11. Jero meets Cinthia who is being discharged from the hospital. She says she feels like she was run over by a train. He says she is lucky that she didn't have to stay longer. She wonders why he is being so kind to her an addict. She thanks him. He isn't the bad person she thought he was. Jero says they just didn't know each other. He emphasizes that now she has to focus on taking care of her self and getting rehabilitated. She needs professional help but nobody can help her until she helps herself first. She was lucky he found her in time. This was only a warning.

12. Braulio lets Ester know why Angel is going to be getting to work late. If anything urgent arises, she can let him know. He brings up Misael getting out on bail. He had to have had very good lawyer. Where would have he gotten the money? Ester wonders about that, too. Braulio says that Misael gave him his version of the accident when he visited him at the jail. His version is really solid. Ester asks if he believes Misael. Braulio says it isn't only that. Just between the two of them, he thinks that the Funes Company had a certain responsibility to not send Misael all by himself to transport such a large amount of money. Ester concludes that the company was responsible for what happened. Braulio says he didn't say that but Homero Funes, on the other hand, was ill and he made some bad decisions before Angel replaced him as the head of the company.

13. Mati texts Rayo that the old man must think she is one of his hallucinations. Rayo was afraid they would call the police. Mati tells her to enjoy being a ghost. Rayo doesn't like being there any more. She has been reading all of the love letters between the old man and his late wife. Rayo wants to know if she has found another house for her. Mati would rather talk about what else she can steal for her.

14. Cinthia says this isn't the first time this has happened to her. She is like a cat with lots of lives. Jero asks if her family knows about her addiction. Cinthia says maybe yes, maybe no. She first took drugs in junior high in Guanajuato. Her mother found her all drugged up. Her dad gave her a beating to correct her behavior. The only thing it did was make her take more drugs. In high school, she tried everything and moved to Mexico City to live with an aunt. Her aunt didn't help her. Cinthia cleaned the house so she didn't throw her out. Then she got pregnant. She detoxed at the same hospital where she had Denis. She didn't do drugs while she was expecting. Jero knows she can keep clean. She knows how to. Cinthia explains that after Denis was born, the temptation was far too great. She was back on drugs in a week.

15. Gina and Ariel discuss the ethics of Ana Sofí doing a live from the funeral home. Gina wants to criticize Ana Sofí for the livestream on her social media. Ariel is not in favor of her doing that. She does it anyway. She gets a positive response.
 

VENCER Part 4

16. Celeste calls Braulio at work happily telling him that she has a surprise for him. He has missed this version of her so much. He has to go to answer another call. Celeste sees a jewelry store. Celeste asks about how much would a bracelet like hers cost. It was a gift from her husband. The employee says she can do an estimate for her.

17. Angel has called Braulio from the funeral home. He is concerned about what is going to happen with the loan he owed to Silvano. Braulio says all of that will have to be clarified. Angel says that before he died, Silvano informed him of two things. One, he had sued him and two, he was going to tell him something that would change his life forever. Braulio says he knows nothing about a lawsuit. And as far as the other topic, they never will know now. He suggests that Angel stay in close contact with Ana Sofí. If anyone would know Silvano's secrets, it would be her. As for Misael, all Braulio knows is that he got out of jail and the earth swallowed him up. Angel sees Armando arrive. He has to hang up.

18. Jero and Cinthia leave the hospital. She thanks him and is ready to go on her way. Jero says he cannot let her go off like that. He invites her to go get something to eat at the food truck. She says he helped her out but now she is ready to go off on her own. He reminds her that she can call him for anything. They go their separate ways.

19. Celeste is astonished when she sees how much her bracelet cost. The saleslady says that her husband must love her very much. Celeste leaves.

20. Back at a the funeral home, Angel tells Armando all he knows about him, Zac and Silvano and their lawyer being connected. He asks him for the truth. Armando admits he worked for Silvano but not because he wanted to but because he had threatened him. Angel asks how? Armando says when he was young he stole to support his family, shoplifting. Silvano caught him and sent him to prison. He got him out with the understanding that he would work for him unconditionally forever or else he would send him back to prison.

21. Ariel is not pleased with all the likes that Gina is getting with her post against Ana Sofí. He is worried about karma. Gina is turning into a clone of that PITA (AKA Ana Sofí). He tells her to think about it.

22. Chepina asks what Julia told Misael about giving him a second chance. Julia says she said nothing. She knows it would be good for Danny but she isn't going there. Chepina says she was scared there for a moment. She knows she loves her Angel. Chepina wonders if Angel and Ana Sofí are back together.
 

VENCER Part 5

23. Armando says the only thing that he knew about Santino's business dealings was that they were crooked. He admits that he and Zac know each other very well. He also confesses that he and Zac were the ones who beat Angel up. Angel never wold have imagined that. Armando says he will be sorry for that the rest of his life. He asks for Angel to forgive him. He didn't do it because he wanted to.Angel asks about Misael. Armando says he escaped with a good deal of money putting Zac in a bad spot. Armando adds that he was sent to Homero's house to see if he could find some sort of info about him. Angel concludes that MIsael was Silvano's accomplice. Armando says Silvano wanted him to find out what he could from Angel's family about where Misael might be. Armando says how bad he felt betraying Angel's and Homero's trust. The worst part is that he fell in love with his sister. Angel tells Armando that he forgives him but also warns Armando to stay away from everyone in his family. He doesn't want to see him again.

24. Celeste is at home looking at all of her very expensive jewelry and remembering Braulio giving it to her. She brings it to the same jewelry store to have estimates done on all of her pieces. She is shocked once again at how much they are all worth.

25. Max tells Ester that they will have to prove that Cinthia is not a good mother in court with evidence and witnesses. He reminds her it isn't going to be as easy at Ester thought it would be.

26. Angel leaves the funeral home goes home to see his father. He tells Homero that he found out that Misael was in cahoots with Silvano. Angel says this information changes everything including thinking that Julia was involved. She probably had no idea wha was going on. Homero says he needs to talk to her. Angel agrees that he needs to find out if Misael had deceived her.

27. Misael arrives at Julia's home unexpectedly. The whole family is around the table. Danny is delighted to see him. He is there because he owes them all an apology. He swears it was never his intention that things turned out like they did. He addresses Rodolfo and wants to know if he can come back home so they can be the family they always were. Danny tells his grandpa to let him stay!!! Rodolfo give in and says Misael can stay. Julia and Chepina look shocked. DOES JULIA HAVE A MOUTH???

28. *We are back at the beginning of the episode with the arrival of Angel. Danny runs to Angel. he is so happy that he came. His dad is free. He introduces Misael to his friend Angel. He wants them both to be friends like he is with Angel. He invites Angel in and tells him that is his house. Angel says he had to talk to Julia about something but he and Misael also have something pending to discuss.
 

VENCER Part 6

29. Rayo and Mati argue about Mati finding her another place to live. Mati says it isn't her job to take care of her. She only does what she WANTS to. Mati says she is changing and Rayo is going nowhere. Rayo also tells her to leave Teo alone already.

30.Teo comes in from school. Flavia provokes Teo and they argue some more. He says that she tells him to act grown up but when he does, she yells at him. What is he to do? She says it is her house and he will respect her. She raises his hand and thumps himont his head. He asks what is she going to do if he doesn't, slap him again? He dares her to. If she touches a hair on his head, he will file charges against her.

31. Misael in his nasty hirsute way tells Angel that they are having a special family moment and that they will talk later. He must know what the family has been through. Angel says that is why it is ioortnant and urgent that they talk. Misael repeats that now is not the time. Misael comments that one of these days he just might sue the Funes company because of what happened to him. Angel says that is the last thing he wants and he apologizes for upsetting their family time. He tells Misael they have to talk and soon. Julia gets up and Misael blocks her. She tells Misael that Angel was a great support in looking for him and now he is thinking of suing him. She asks Misael what is wrong with him?? Julia goes after Angel.

32. Jero tells his sons how worried he is about Cinthia. Ebe doesn't understand why. She isn't a relative or a friend but a lost cause. Jero says she is young and has a child. Everyone deserves a second chance. Suddenly Cinthia appears to take Jero up on his meal offer. She tells the boys what a great dad they have. It has been a long time since anyone treated her so well. She apologizes for being rude before but after thinking about everything he said, she is going to go into rehab.

33. Ester goes online to see how to obtain custody of a minor.

34.Celeste visits Ester. Ester wants to know what is going on.

35. Julia catches up to Angel. She says since he came by the house, she knows it must be important what he had to talk to her about. He asks if maybe she wants to talk about the threat her husband made about suing his company. She says she had no idea
he had thought about suing his company. She doesn't agree. It is clear to her that he came to talk to her and not Misael. What was it? Angel tells her that he is sure that Misael is lying to her.

36. Misael has followed them and is lurking watching them. Chepina grabs him and drags him away. Misael's phone rings and he is hesitant to answer it in front of Chepita. She asks what the mystery is? He finally answers when she leaves. He tells the caller that Silvano's accident is paying off. He is back with his family!!! The old man fell for his story and that he wasn't "sin filtros."


 

VENCER Part 7

37. Julia is surprised. Angel asks her again if she is sure she knew nothing about what Misael was doing. She says of course not. He apologizes. If she is upset by what he is saying, is it because she still cares about her husband? She says no way. She is only concerned about the effect on her son. She wants to divorce him. She asks him what the deal is with Ana Sofí. He says there is nothing going but admits to spending the night with her. He tries to explain that her father just died. Julia really isn't interested in hearing anything else. She says he doesn't owe her explanations but he wants to explain. He is in love with her!! It looks like they want to kiss.

38. Evidently, Celeste has told Ester about the fortune in jewelry she has. She also has been aware of other large sums of money Braulio has spent. Why has he hid all of this money from her?? Ester thinks that if a man doesn't tell his wife about money, it is because he doesn't want to her to know where it came from. Ester is sure that it must be illegal and she can't rule out that Braulio is a criminal.

Camino #39 Part 1

Back at the restaurant, Lupita asks Sebastian to promise he isn’t going back to his friends. He crosses his fingers behind his back and we know he is lying. He goes in for a kiss but she turns her head; she smiles as he leaves.

Shocker (not), we next see Sebastian back at the bar, drinks flowing. One of his friends brings up Estefania saying Lupita is nothing like her and the smile leaves Sebastian’s face. Champagne corks are popped, the intoxicating liquid spraying like a sprinkler; they party like it’s 1999.

Ursula is doing her best Snow White impersonation, chirping deliriously that she is getting married. She bursts into Memo’s room, asking if he is nervous. She assures Memo she is counting the minutes as he stares and scratches.

Cesar is face planted on the floor, still out cold, legs spread, mouth gagged.

The restaurant is being decorated for the boda. Macario wants to help but Amparo waves him off, telling him to take care of himself. White balloons are everywhere, strung like lanterns, some, bearing “Ursula and Memo”, adorn the tables. There is a free-standing heart shaped picture of the happy couple. There are a few beautiful bouquets of colorful flowers. Memo takes it all in, not a smile to be seen. Gaby tells Memo to get dressed, the wedding starts in an hour. Back in his room, Memo leans against the door, eyes closed in resignation. Fresh from the shower, he dons a crisp while shirt, black tie, black pants. If only he’d stopped there! Sadly, the handsome look is ruined as he puts on his shiny black jacket adorned with flowers.

The bride is now dressed. Viewerville stares, wondering if Chuchita made a mistake bringing Ursula lingerie instead of her dress? A lattice halter top leaving little to the imagination, is attached to a see-through lace bustier, followed by a short skirt and way too much tulle. Epic fashion fail.

Cesar wakes up, snorting like an enraged bull.

Camino #39 Part 2

Amparo shows up at Ursula’s, looking lovely in a yellow and gray flowered dress. Ursula’s fashion choice is not unnoticed but I believe Amparo only says something about her dress being non-traditional. She tells Chuchita she needs to speak to the bride. Alone. But Amparo has not come unprepared, indeed she bears a gift for the not so blushing bride. It’s a pregnancy test!! Amparo demands that Ursula take it – in front of her! Ursula’s jaw drops and frankly, mine does as well.

Fausto is holding fast and refuses to allow Daniela to bring Isa to the wedding.

Ursula turns on the crocodile tears and looks (rightfully) indignant. Ursula bares her fangs a bit but Amparo ain’t backing down. For a moment, Ursula actually looks scared. She tells her she loves her brother. Amparo tells Ursula she betrayed Memo by telling Fausto that Memo is Isa’s father. One does not betray those they love. She is not going to allow Ursula to take one step out the door before taking the test in front of her!

Sebastian is in bed, hung over; but thankfully JuanPa arrives to wake him up. He tells his friend not to mess everything up; his father supports him and he can’t let Lupita down. Sebas smiles and gets up.

Lupita and Gaby look lovely in beautiful, stylish and (amazingly) modest black dresses adorned with pretty flowers. Lupita tells her sister she didn’t feel comfortable with Sebastian’s friends but Gaby encourages her to have faith and patience.

Ursula has taken the pregnancy test and having handed it to Amparo, stands, seemingly ready to beg for forgiveness but shocker, Amparo hands her the test and tells her she is pregnant!

Wild bull Cesar has freed himself.

JuanPa doesn’t want to have problems with Gaby and hurries Sebastian along. Sebastian tells JuanPa not to ream him out about going back to the club. He swears he will change for Lupita.

Camino #39 Part 3

After her initial shock wears off, a vindicated Ursula goes on the attack and goes after Amparo. Amparo feels embarrassed and Ursula swears she will never forgive her. How dare she think she would fake a pregnancy! Ursula throws her out. Afterward, Ursula looks at the results and laughs delightedly.

Uh oh. Ursula and Macario are in front of the church, wedding guests milling about when Cesar shows up. He is furious and reminds his wife she is still married to him and that this wedding is bogus. OMG, he actually tells her that she will have to give him her baby! After, she will never see him again. If she doesn’t agree, he will tell everything.

Ursula and Memo are at the altar with the priest beginning the vows.

Home, Fausto is calling out for Daniela and Isa but there is no answer. He closes his eyes as it dawns on him where they are, his face reflecting his anger.

Back at the church, all of a sudden, Isabela arrives and runs up the aisle calling Memo’s name. Ursula stares wild eyed but Memo is delighted! When it is Memo’s turn to profess his love and take his vows, he turns and stares at Daniela, in her gorgeous rose colored dress as the camera comes in tight for a closeup of Dani’s face, expressing sadness and longing.

Fausto’s doorbell rings and Karen arrives, purring as to where Daniela is. She taunts him about Dani going to the wedding and him for losing control of his wife, along with everything else. We are spared seeing their tryst, but learn this is Karen’s first time in Daniela’s bed. As they make up the bed, Karen hopes the scent of her perfume isn’t noticeable. Fausto asks what she sees in Aaron. Karen waxes on as to how attractive and supportive Aaron is. She tells him she wants someone who wants her for herself. He looks at her scathingly; he knows she is lying.

Back at the wedding, Memo accepts, his vows complete. Cesar sits and sort of laughs. Dani looks crestfallen. Ursula is giddy (likely beside herself she managed to pull everything off). The rings are now in place and the wedding cord is placed on the happy couple by Amparo and Humberto.

At the reception, Isa looks like a beautiful sprite in her frothy concoction and Chema looks handsome in his periwinkle jacket.

Camino #39 Part 4

Memo and Ursula dance as Ursula casts gloating, triumphant looks in Daniela’s direction. Cesar cuts in when she is dancing with Humberto. All the couples, Leo and Chuchita, Macario and Amparo and Lupita and Sebastian hit the floor.

JuanPa tells Sebastian to cool it with the drinking. Sebastian retorts they are there to have fun – you only live once. Then he orders a double much to Lupita’s consternation. JuanPa takes a sweet shot of Gaby. The girls tell their partners they want to dance.

Grace tells her mother that Gaby thinks she is so pretty and that she is her father’s ugly duckling. She hates Gaby! Mercifully, this is their one and only scene.

Karen is sitting on her bed crying as Fausto’s words reverberate in her head. Eugenio comes in concerned and asks what’s wrong. Karen tells Eugenio that she is in her “sensitive “days. He offers to make a delicious lunch.

Dani whispers that she needs to keep things under control. Memo tells Daniela he will never forget that she brought Isa. He asks that she thank Fausto so she tells him Fausto doesn’t know!

As if on cue, Fausto, the devil himself arrives…

Daniela thought very hard before coming but she had to do it for Isa who is above everything. Daniela asks if they can be friends…when they do what’s right, things can’t go wrong. When Dani says that Isa would be upset if she found out that she is Memo’s daughter and hadn’t been allowed to come, Memo asks if she is thinking of telling Isa that she is his daughter.

Dani wants to take Isabela home but Isa and Chema run off. She closes her eyes and breathes. Ursula breaks away from Cesar as Fausto demands to know where his daughter is. Everyone stares but no one answers. Memo and Dani are still talking outside as Fausto bursts in on the scene telling Memo to leave his wife alone.

Camino #39 Part 5 (Last)

Eugenio feels like the best chef just with Karen’s smile. Karen suggests he open his own restaurant and he admits that was once his dream. He asks about her dreams and she said she lost them somewhere along the way. He holds his daughter and tells her he loves her.

Fausto manhandles Daniela and marches her back inside. Where is my daughter he yells..

Ursula upbraids Memo with the accusation that if they hadn’t interrupted, he and Daniela would have kissed. She doesn’t feel respected. Memo tells her that would not have happened, he and Dani have agreed to be friends. When she demands he never see Dani again, he tells her that is impossible as Dani is Isabela’s mother.

Fausto asks again where Isa is as everyone stops. He yells at Chuchita to look for Isabela, that is what he pays her for! Leo starts to intercede but thinks the better of it and backs off. Memo asks if he has a problem with Dani bringing his daughter to his wedding.

Dani has her wits about her and thanks Amparo for the invitation as Fausto stalks out. Leo starts the music and The festivities strike up again.

Isa asks for a few minutes but Fausto forbids it, grabbing Isa. He spits out that they knew they weren’t supposed to come! Isa wants to go say goodbye as Dani hustles her in the car. As Memo and Ursula come out, Isa breaks away, running to Memo, giving him a huge hug with her small but loving arms.

There were several crucial reveals I did not understand and appear here only due to Rgv Chick's kindness in sharing critical dialog with me. Unlike me, Rgv Chick misses nothing and I am so very grateful for her amazing and continuing generosity.

Another gem Diana! You described everything with such beautiful detail. It was far from a fairy tale but your recap painting at the very least a lovely background! Thank you!

First things first, I actually didn't hate Ursa's wedding dress! I mean I would never in a million years wear it but I think Chuchita is right in what she said to Dani awhile back, it fit Ursa's character. Plus, Ursa clearly felt confident and beautiful in it so for me at least, that made it less garish.

Speaking of fashion, Amparo looked great in this episode throughout!! Even in the morning when prepping for the wedding and just wearing a jeans and t-shirt, she looked 10-15 years younger than she normally does!!! And then that dress was beautiful.

I wasn't surprised Ursa is really pregnant, I figured that's where the forced pregnancy test would land, but of course that baby must be Cesar's. The only saving grace here is that of course, Memo and Ursa are not truly, legally married because Ursa is already married. But man, how long do we put up with this unholy union before that reveal??

Fausto is such a jackass!!! Who walks into someone else's wedding reception yelling and screaming??? What a rude, entitled jerk! Someone should have hit him!!! I actually yelled at the screen when Leo jumped in 'hit him!!!'. Ugh, Dani should leave him with or without Memo!!! Forget loving that man, does she even like him? Yelling at Chuchita to go find Isa because that's what he pays her for on what is clearly her day off is ridiculous!

It bugged me that Dani was begging Isa to leave and she was saying no. Dani is the mom, she shouldn't be begging Isa for anything! Just tell her it's time to go!

 

Thank you Diana and Rgv Chick for making sense of this episode for me. I don’t speak Spanish and understand only crucial words so I generally got the drift but the biggest reveal was Ursula (and Amparo) finding out Ursula IS pregnant! So one of the mysteries is who is the bio daddy: Memo or Cesar? I hope it’s Cesar since he seems to be keen on taking Ursula’s baby. I think the writers set him up with Cesar’s agreement to let the wedding proceed as long as Ursula let him keep her “baby” which now the scare quotes have to be removed since she is pregnant.
But the scare quotes have to go back up for Memo’s and Ursula’s fashion choices. Well the scare quotes have to go back up for the entire wedding and the behavior of most of the guests and Fausto. A sad, sad, sad event indeed. Even Memo’s “acepto” is meaningless since Ursula is already married and now a bigamist! A “marriage” that wasn’t!

Thanks, Jarifa. I was having a little trouble with last night's dialogue.

Ana Sofi is the next to last person who should be allowed to comment on anyone's dignity: She has none. How can anyone be so blind to how tacky it is to solicit public sympathy and play the sad little orphan? I don't blame Gina for wanting to call her out on this, but Ariel is right. Gina missed an opportunity to show a little class.

Julia will probably cave, but if Silvano was as crooked as this episode says Misael is putting her and Danny in the line of fire.

Armando needs to run for his life.

Celeste should put all that jewelry in a safe deposit box. She has to stop being a Stepford wife.

"I wasn't surprised Ursa is really pregnant, I figured that's where the forced pregnancy test would land, but of course that baby must be Cesar's". Exactly! The writers never would have "gone there" had a positive result not be certain.

While Memo and Ursula aren't married in the eyes of the law, their faux "union" has caused so much heartache and untangling it will be a mess.

Excellent point in that Ursula did feel beautiful in her wedding dress. She so desperately wanted the sham marriage, even ugly Fausto's appearance and anger wouldn't "ruin" it for her. She even went through with it knowing Cesar would take her now "real" child. Cold.

Dani needs to get stronger. Both with Fausto and her sweet Isa who is running roughshod over her.

And Amparo shone! I've only seen Monika Sanchez once before, as Eduardo Yanez' wife in Amores Verdaderos and she was great there as well. I hope Eugenio will be there to cushion her fall after Macario breaks her heart.

Gracias, amigas, for this excellent rendition of a pivotal episode.

I was applauding Amparo when she revealed her true badass. If anything happens to Humberto Amparo will be head of the family. Ursula was definitely shaking in her boots.

I was not prepared for the positive result, but in view of recent couplings on Ursula's lambada dance card I immediately knew that there was a Cesar Jr in the making. However, if he actually did kill someone and Ursula saw this she has the upper hand... for now. What can the writers do with this? Let's see:

--- Ursula will use her pregnancy to enslave as many of the Santos family members she can. This could last until someone overhears her laughing about it. This person could also record this.

--- Due to earlier behavior and the baby's size at birth Macario gets suspicious of either the timing of the conception or who the sperm donor was. Thus far he is the only person who knows the real relationship between Ursula and Cesar. Amparo might have another light bulb moment when looking back on her past conversation with Cesar who won't be going anywhere.

--- Under either of the above Leo could suggest to Memo to get a DNA test. Didn't they talk about about Memo's past ED problems when he tried to boink Ursula?

No way is Memo the sperm donor this time. Ursula also knows this. But will she still boink Cesar?

Does anyone know about Yolanda and Grace? Macario may be a little smarter than he looks if he never told anyone.

Ursula's motive for marrying Memo is now likely to be connected to Macario's reason for marrying Amparo: Her inheritance is worth lots of dinero.

Fausto was his usual nasty self, blind how he looks to others.

Chuchita looked great in her own creation; she could go far in the fashion business. She certainly nailed Ursula with that fugly wedding dress. I saw some like it years ago and this is not only "untraditional", it's nothing new!

Thanks, Jarifa, you cleared up a lot for me! At the beginning, when Angel appeared at Julia’s door, I missed the timeline. And for some reason I thought AnaSofia was with him. So when he appeared again and went in I thought it was a different visit.

So Misael is really one of the bad guys. I’m actually pleased with that news, it gives Julia an easy out! But I can’t believe her father has welcomed him back to the family! I agree that Julia should have some say in this.

I felt sorry for Armando. Although I was shocked that he was one of the thugs that beat up Angel. But Silvano really had him trapped. He sounds like his crime was minor and then Silvano tried turning him into a real criminal.

All that jewelry! Over many years! So Braulio is probably a long time criminal. But if Misael was working for Silvano did someone else steal the money or does Misael have it. Somehow Braulio is involved!

AnaSofia reached a new low with her funeral talk on social media. I don’t see her running her father’s business. And who killed him?

Jero is so good. I’m glad Ester has admitted to having feelings for him. But I think she’ll be upset when she finds out Jero is trying to help Cinthia get her life on track.

Finally Homero and Rayo speak. Now he needs to realize she’s real. I hope he calls her Margarita so Rayo will realize he knew her mother. I really want them to have a relationship!

Cesar now knows about Yolanda (he saw her with Macario on his hospital bed) but likely not Grace. Yet.

"True badass" describes Amparo perfectly. "Amparo might have another light bulb moment when looking back on her past conversation with Cesar who won't be going anywhere". She is very shrewd and right now, she is the only one who might realize the baby isn't Memo's. As I said earlier, what a mess.

Chuchita did look lovely. I wish Leo had let loose and rained blows down on Fausto. The man is reprehensible!!

Jarifa, this was chock full of action, one thing after the next in quick succession and you captured everything perfectly.

I loved “Misael in his nasty hirsute way”, one of many favorites.

Where to start? “Rodolfo give in and says Misael can stay. Julia and Chepina look shocked. DOES JULIA HAVE A MOUTH???” Color me horrified. Standing up for lowlife Misael who is playing on Julia’s emotions having no qualms using their son as a bargaining chip? A definite misstep for our favorite grandfather.

Celeste now has a jewelry collection that Sotheby’s would salivate over. That something is very wrong is seeping into her consciousness, but all too slowly. Wake up!

I was happy to see that Jero is helping Cinthia and that she now trusts him. I liked that his sons are seeing what a good and kind person he is and that people deserve a second chance. He certainly gave them one despite how they treated him when he returned. I am hopeful she and Ester will be able to come to a good place and that she will be in her son’s life.

I liked Rayo warning the selfish, self-serving Mati to leave Teo alone. I was a bit surprised that Teo warned Flavia if she touches him, he will report her.

“Silvano informed him of two things. One, he had sued him and two, he was going to tell him something that would change his life forever”. Only one thing comes to my mind and it isn’t good and I’m likely wrong so won’t hazard a guess.

I was surprised Armando was involved in Misael’s beating.

Hoping Angel and Julia are getting back on track.

Liz, I like your idea of Homero calling Rayo her mother's name! I can’t wait until the next Rayo/Homero encounter!

Thanks, Diana, you are a true storyteller. Lot’s happened in this episode.

I was surprised Amparo was so apologetic after the pregnancy test. To me(granted I knew the truth-or what was the truth)Ursula looked so guilty when she didn’t want to take the test, and then so surprised when it was positive. I was sure Amparo would see right through her.

With the real baby we might have to go through nine months of this marriage. And how would she explain giving the baby to Cesar? I hope she is discovered for what she is sooner than that! I never thought about her marrying Memo for the inheritance, but she is Macario’s niece! But I do wonder if she really loves Memo. I was just so sure Cesar would stop the wedding! And how did he know the pregnancy was real, Ursula had told him she wasn’t pregnant.

Fausto was his usual self. Dani should really leave him. He puts on an act around a lot of people but hopefully that will get harder for him to do as wife and daughter distance themselves emotionally from him.

Karen is a tough character to read. She can be so awful and then so vulnerable.

I was disappointed in Sebas. He has a lot of work to do on himself!

And Eugenio always wanted to have a restaurant. That’s interesting. Something he and Amparo have in common.

It was one of those episodes where it was just easier to translate a better part of it. There were way too many details of who knew what from who, where and when.

Urban, “Julia will probably cave.” Is probably right. I am really tired of her character. She should have had Gina take Danny for a walk and given her father and Misael a piece of her mind but no, she just sat and accepted it. She has no backbone but neither does Angel so easily dragged into bed with Ana Sofí. They deserve each other and lotsa’ luck!

Liz, I felt sorry for Armando, too. For relatively minor crimes he has been living the life of a slave. It would be funny if Sergio ends up being flawed in some unforgiveable way and Mirna ends up with Armando. It is my guess, too, that Ester in her obsession with Denis would not be pleased to hear about Jero assisting Cinthia.

Diana, Jero has such empathy for Cinthia that I wonder if addiction is somehow a part of his story pre Lenar. A family member perhaps? At this point, I want to see Denis back with his mother eventually. I am curious about your suspicion of what Silvano was going to tell Angel that would change his life forever.

So, we now know that both Misael and Braulio are villains and that Misael was " sin fi!tros" and killed Santino. Was Braulio on the other end of that phone conversation? Armando and Zac are just minions .Have we ever seen the lawyer those two were talking about ?

From verging on the point of tears being caught in a lie to utter shock when it was positive, she really gave herself away.

That said, the test was to prove if Ursula is or isn't positive. And, it did just that.

I think Amparo was also shocked and was trying to process. I think she felt she HAD to apologize which under the circumstances, she did need to do. Right now, she has no reason to suspect the father is anyone but Memo. I think Urban is right in that Amparo will question the true paternity down the line as I suspect her and Cesar's relationship/marriage will be revealed eventually.

Gracias, Jarifa. I'm so annoyed with Angel and Julia right now that I practically ignored their scenes last night, but of course I want to know what happened. Your recap is excellent.

Julia knows her love for Misael is gone and never coming back, so letting him stay there only gets Danny's hopes up for nothing. Misael had a woman in every port, so let him head for one of them.

I'm glad to see Chepina is back to her wise self.

Interesting that Braulio put all this money into fine jewelry while living in a modest apartment, instead of buying property. I'm wondering if this was a way to hide his cash from authorities.

I wanted to laugh when Amparo showed up and told the chirping Snow white (nice name,Diana) either you take the test or we stay here forever. It's nice to see such characters getting a bit of what they themselves love dishing out.
Isabela is very bratty and I'm a bit sick of it.
Grace and her mummy dearest building air castles a few episodes ago was just ridiculous. And now she hates Gabriela for what? having a father and a boyfriend? It actually would have been a bit more interesting if Graciela had chosen Lupita as her target because with someone like Gabriela is a bit too predictable.
I definitely thought Ursula was going to kill her husband nr.1.

Ana Sofi and her 'my father died' livestream reminds of a similar case where a celebrity took a photo of herself with tears running down her face after her father died and posted it on social media. If I hadn't heard of this, I'd have thought the writers just made this sort of stuff up.
Rodolfo letting Misael stay at the house was just...It seems the writers sometimes go for this idea that older generations are all for staying in the marriage/ supporting your spouse no matter what and it ends up seeming as though the woman has to endure all kinds of nonsense because men can get away with so much.
I kept thinking Celeste would be able to sell all that jewelery if she ever needed money.
I wonder how people like Misael can just waltz in with no remourse and say 'I'm back.' He only asked for Rodolfo's permission so he doesn't think much of his wife.
It would help if Rodolfo stopped going on about how M is Danny's father. I bet that's why he let M stay.
I kind of wish Julia wouldn't forgive Angel. His character is ruined for me after this. So men's self-control is non-existant? I'm not getting married, ever!

Grace and Gaby are somewhat similar in their penchant for rather garish eyeshadow. Both can be a bit fiery as well. Call of mitad sangre? (I had to look that up) :)

I'm hoping Isa's little bratty phase is over; I want the sweet, lovely litlle girl we all love "back".

Cabo Episodes One and Two:

Honestly patio peeps, the acting in this has not impressed me at ALL, but I'm here for the camp so I won't complain too much.

We meet Sofia a day before her wedding to a man she believes is named "Alejandro", Sofia seems like a sweet woman, she dresses like a 13 year old but she's a good daughter and sister so we will let this slide, for now.

Sofia is cursed with a drunk father, Sofia's mother died and because her father is a useless drunk Sofia took over the responsibility of running the home and caring for her younger sister Rebeca, the family owns a small restaurant.

Sofia and "Alejandro" get married in a small courthouse ceremony. "Alejandro" is really Eduardo, Alejandro's evil step brother, who looks like Syd from the Ice Age movies. Eduardo is stealing money from the family company and he resents the fact that Alejandro is in charge and makes a plan to kill him but not before marrying Sofia as Alejandro.

Eduardo is a busy bee, not only does he have to find the time to marry Sofia, steal money from the company and plot a murder, he also has to plant seeds of distrust within his family which includes his mother and his stepsister Vanessa, his mother loves both Alejandro and Vanessa as her own, she married their father when they were children, after the death of their mother.

Alejandro is also very busy, he's trying to help build a hospital and is about to make his company public in the stock market, everyone is very proud of him, because of everything he has going on he's traveling a lot from work site to work site, Eduardo uses this to imply that the reason Alejandro is traveling so much is because he's dating someone secretly, I should point out that Alejandro is casually dating family friend Isabela.

Susanlynn, "I liked it better when we didn't know if he was alive or not." I so agree. I cannot stand Misael just like I cannot stand so many other characters. It is still up in the air as to who killed Santino. Misael said that he was benefiting from it but never admitted to actually having done it even though he was right there with Zac when the ambulances arrived. It might prove to be him or maybe Braulio. Who knows?

Niecie, I like your theory that Braulio was putting all of his money in jewelry in order to hide it from authorities. Braulio right be unlikeable but is far from stupid with makes him far superior to so many characters at this point.

waterlily, Whoa! That is really creepy that a celebrity actually pulled the pity card posing herself in tears after a family death on her social media. I was unaware. "It would help if Rodolfo stopped going on about how M is Danny's father." Exactly!! Rodolfo is another character that has become tedious.

After all of the kvetching, I still cannot wait for tonight's episode!
 

Cabo Episodes One and Two: Part 2

Eduardo as Alejandro had asked Sofia's father to deliver a bag to his boss, the father was given instructions to drop off the bag to a private plane, Sofia's dad follows the instructions but this turns out to be a HUGE mistake. HUGE.

As Sofia and Eduardo/Alejandro are about to "celebrate" their wedding when Eduardo/Alejandro gets a phone call from his accomplice (I forget his name) alerting him to the fact that a surprise audit is being conducted at the offices, Alejandro/Eduardo freaks out and rushes out promising Sofia that he will return later, Sofia spends her wedding night with her drunk father and her sister.

By the end of episode one two things have happened, Eduardo tells his mother that Alejandro got married in secret and Alejandro's plane crashes, but Alejandro survives!
 

Cabo Episode 2:

This episode mostly deals with the fallout of Alejandro's death and secret marriage, Sofia gets the phone call that her new husband has died, and she finds out after meeting with his stepmother that he died when his private jet crashed, then she gets hit with the news that Alejandro was one of the wealthiest men in the country. Sofia is confused, Alejandro had told her he worked at one of the local hotels, she had no idea he was loaded.

Sidenote: when the family is given the news that Alejandro died none of the actors did a good job of crying, I mean they made the sad crumbly faces but just could not shed tears, Televisa needs to get Victoria Rufo to give these guys a master class in crying on cue.

Isabela is furious and can't believe that Alejandro was dating someone behind her back, let alone that he married some woman none of them had ever met, Ernesto is worried Sofia and/or Eduardo will take Vanesa's share of the money. Eduardo tells his mom that they need to close ranks, no one is to know what's going on, if investors find out that Alejandro is dead the shares of the company will tank and that will hurt all of them financially, he is going to take charge of the company and will travel to La Paz to make sure the marriage between Sofia and Alejandro is in fact legit.

Meanwhile stepmom is extra nice to Sofia because she needs her to stay quiet about Alejandro's death in order to protect the company, Rebeca points out to Sofia later in the episode that she is legally entitled to some of Alejandro's wealth.

Stepmom and Co hire a crisis management firm to help them navigate through the PR crisis they are about to face.

In La Paz Eduardo shows up at Sofia's house and shows his true colors, he tells Sofia's dad that he is not Alejandro, that he is in fact Eduardo and that he needs him to convince Sofia to work with him (Eduardo) in whatever hellish scheme he has come up with, if Sofia's father refuses to help Eduardo, Eduardo will land him in jail, then he shows him footage of him boarding the plane with the duffel bag, he will accuse both him and Sofia of being behind Alejandro's accident. Sofia's dad shouts that Sofia does not deserve what Eduardo is doing to her, Eduardo replies with "she doesn't deserve to have an alcoholic for a father either but here we are", you can't argue with that!

Super job, Diana. I was on the edge of my seat last night and you have captured every twist and turn with finesse.

ITA Chuchita did a great job with Ursula's dress. It fit Ursula's personality to a T. It even revealed some new tattoos I had missed.

Fausto's pompous look at Ursula's bridalwear was a hoot, but his insults to Chuchita and everybody else was not. He's downright verbally abusive to Dani these days.

My favorite scene was Amparo demanding Ursula take that test right in front of her! That woman loves her family and would do anything to help Memo get out of a mess. So a Cesarcito is on the way.

I hate to admit it, but Macario cleans up pretty good. He looked swell in the tan suit. I was surprised Amparo even danced with him. Will she take him back?

Niecie, did you watch Pasion?? If not, Macario/Alberto Estrella was Colunga's sidekick Mario. With the long dark hair he was beyond handsome and really heartthrob worthy. I think of that character every time I see him, even now years later. He was the most horrendous villain ever (La Malquerida) as well but he will always be Mario to me.

He often has a twinkle in his eye. He is fantastic. I can't hate Macario cause I so like the actor.

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #52 Page 1

Notes from the couch . . . the "a little of this and a little of that" edition

You know, it occurred to me today that I am in what I call the "telenovela doldrums" It usually happens to me when the novela has about a third to go and the "good guys" continue to be eternally stupid/naïve as the "bad guys" keep chalking up easy victories that they enjoy way too much. I have been at the same point in the most excellent "La Reina del Sur 3" for awhile now.

Anyway, on to tonight's episode which seems like a good set-up for some action on the horizon.

THE MAIN EVENT

INTRO: Misael is in a restaurant telling a person on the other end of a phone call that circumstances have changed and it maybe isn't the best time to meet. He will meet with them later. Misael walks out and confronts Julia who he has seen following him. (Somebody needs to tell Julia not to follow somebody while wearing a red skirt and carrying orange/yellow bags if you want to remain incognito) She admits to following him and wants to know who he is going to see in that restaurant.

Ester has the quotes that "wrap" the episode tonight.

"What happens when we discover something that we already suspected? Do we confront the situation and the person that lied to us or do we go beyond that until we discover the whole truth?

THE DAY BEFORE

-Angel and Julia talk over their situation on the street. Julia is upset that Angel spent the night with Ana Sofí even though he says he feels nothing for her. She is not impressed when he explains spending the night with her as being purely circumstantial and that Ana Sofí is aware that they are not getting back together. She says he is like all men. (Maybe not all but many) He insists he is not like Misael but he isn't perfect either (Gee, that was big of him) He tells her that he will never cheat on her. She gives him the benefit of the doubt. They agree that they cannot be together right now. She doesn't doubt what he told her about Misaeel but there is so much in her head right now, she is confused and needs some time. She thought that everything would be resolved when Misael reappeared but it has been the opposite. Angel says the truth has to come out very soon and they need to be united. In the mean time, Misael is on the phone with somebody making plans to get together to discuss what to do about the Silvano situation. Angel has to go back to the wake. He knows what it is to lose a parent as Julia does, too. Angel emphasizes that although they cannot be together they have to keep united and strong as they find out the truth. Julia is only worried about Danny. Angel agrees to help protect him from whatever happens. Julia explains that her father is allowing Misael to live at the house again. Angel says that is what he thought and it is nothing to worry about. Misael is waiting for her around the corner and grabs her by the arm and starts dragging her down the street. . (She should have kicked him his nether region) She wrenches herself free of him. Julia tells Misael that Angel was doubting him so she told him the version of what happened that Misael told her. It turns out that Misael is more jealous than anything else. That evening, it becomes clear that Misael is planning on sleeping in Julia's bed. She tells him that is not happening. Sleeping on the couch is his only option. Things have changed. Misael is angry. Danny tells Misael that he can sleep with him.

THE NEXT MORNING Misael volunteers to take Danny to school. Julia asks if that isn't risky. Misael says no. Things have changed. He is going to see his lawyer. Julia asks if it is the one his buddies got him. She wonders if they will ever be meeting those buddies. Misael finishes eating and refuses to take his plate into the kitchen leaving her to pick up after him. (okay. . . )
 

VENCER Part 2

Julia is in the park when she gets a photo from Rayo answering a previous text and telling her she is okay. She sees Misael walking down the street and decides to follow him. She goes scurrying along like a squirrel and hiding behind bushes as she follows Misael. Misael stops and looks around a few times. He knows he is being followed. We are back at the the introduction to the episode. Misael confronts Julia about following him and she owns up to it. She asks who he is going to see in the restaurant. He asks if she is playing detective. He says he is meeting his lawyer like he told her before. She asks where he is. Misael says he had to cancel. Why doesn't she trust him? She says she doesn't want him out there looking for other women (THAT was a BIG mistake on her part giving Misael hope) Misael smiles saying "his" Juli is jealous. Misael insists she is the only woman in the world/his life for him. He steals a quick kiss as she pushes him away. She says she made a mistake and she is sorry. It ends there. He is going to go look for a job. She can go with him or follow him. She gets to decide. She wipes her mouth and decides to leave him in peace because she has things to do.

After school when Julia and Danny get home, Danny is worried that his father might not be coming back. Julia explains that he will be back soon. Julia tells Chepina that she followed Misael but didn't see him involved in anything illegit. She still feels there is something strange going on and she is going to find out what it is. Chepina asks about Rayo. Julia says they texted and that Rayo sent her a photo. Julia looks at the photo and recognizes where Rayo is but she just can't place it. . .


EVERYTHING ELSE

CELESTE

Celeste is ready to confront Braulio about the money he has been spending and where he got it. Ester advises her against it. It is better to do some research first so he cannot just deny it all. She needs to find out where the money is coming from. Celeste asks Ester to find out how much Braulio earns so she can better assess the situation. (Ester doesn't even know how much her hubby makes????) Celeste is afraid of finding out the truth but has to confess she has not fully trusted Braulio in a while. Nevertheless, she loves him. She is grateful to have Ester's support. Ester looks up Braulio's salary at work and sends Celeste the amount. Ester didn't find anytime that looked out of order. His salary is far too low to afford the purchases he has been making.

CINTHIA

Jero goes with Cinthia to the rehab center where she was before. She hopes they can help her again. He says the most important thing is that she has to want to get clean. He congratulates her on her decision. She is worried about how long it will take. He tells her there is no rush. He will visit her. She isn't alone. She thanks him for being there for her like nobody ever has been.

RAYO AND MATI AND THE GANG

Rayo and Mati argue about the money Mati is making off the stuff Rayo is stealing. It seems to Rayo that Mati is the one who is doing better than anyone else. They make up later. The real issue is the guy who wanted to buy the stolen goods from Mati has noticed the quality and quantity of what Rayo has been bringing out of the house. He and his gang are interested in stealing from the home where Rayo is staying. He knows they can make more money off of what they steal than the girls. He can show Mati how theft is done the professional way. Mati takes a couple of the gang guys over to the Funes house and tells them how easy it is to get in. The main guy is all excited that the house looks like it is loaded with expensive and fine things. He wants to partner up with Mati on this one.


 

VENCER Part 3

LENAR

Lenar stops by the food truck suggesting that Jero take back his half of the house because Donato never finished paying him for it. He makes it clear that it was a deal that he made with Donato and will not be discussing it with her. (I am liking Jero more and more)

FLAVIA

Flavia is still ragging on Teo but to Max this time. He tries to explain to her that Teo's behavior is a result of her trying to control everything. (Yup. You can sure say that again) Teo is a teenager and going through a lot of changes. She needs to be patient. He is becoming aware of sexual feelings. Flavia doesn't even want to consider that. He is too young. She says that Max will have to talk to him when the time comes. Max says he will. Flavia says he better do it and not ignore it like he did with poor Iván, may he rest in peace. Max tells her that she was the one who was responsible for the alienation. Max has had it and leaves. (How did Max ever end up with such a *itch?)

TEO

Teo tells Rayo he is planning on having sex for the first time with Mati. Rayo is not pleased.

MIRNA

Angel asks Mirna if she misses Armando. Her reaction is over the top: NO WAY! (Does she protest too much? )
Mirna is turned off by Homero talking about death.
That evening, she has Sergio come over. She misses him so much with him traveling for work all the time. Sergio has a possible solution for that. If she had a job at the Funes company, that would help fill her time. She doesn't like that idea. She wants to know more about his work. Sergio tells her that he works in financial security for a very large corporation. He cannot give her any more info than that. ( I have my doubts about Sergio. He seems too good to be true)


JERO

Jero is talking to Ebe at the food truck when Flavia stops by to give him some food truck account info. She is happy he is going to be living at her place with Misael out on bail. Jero is surprised. Ebe asks if he is going to live with his partner. Jero says he will tell him all about it on the way to the next stop. Ebe sees Gina walking along the street and takes notice.

HOMERO

Rayo sneaks into Homero's room and opens his tablet. She finds out that he is planning on killing himself. What to do? She takes the tablet.

Angel takes Homero to his doctor appointment. Homero makes Doris wait outside so she wouldn't feel sorry for him. The doctor explains that the course of his disease is inevitable. He and his nurse must do all that they can to slow down the symptoms. Homero thinks it might be better not to slow down a thing, let the end come and not have to go through the worst of it. Angel and the doctor tell him not to be like that.(REALLY??? They are not the ones with the disease) He has a lot to live for. The doctor says a positive attitude can help him live longer. When they get home, Angel asks his father why he is so quiet. Homero says he is reflecting on his illness. He isn't afraid of suffering because he probably won't even know he is suffering. Angel reassures him. Doris reassures Angel.

 

VENCER Part 4

Homero goes to his room and is frustrated that he cannot find his tablet. He knows where he left it. Mirna and Doris go searching for it. Homero grabs the keys to his late wife's room. Mirna finds him in her late mother's room in tears. He asks her and Doris to leave him alone. They do.

First , Rayo talks to Mati who doesn't understand why she would care about the "old record player" her nickname for Homero. She can't do anything about it. Who is he to her?? Next, she talks to Teo and confesses her real living situation. She wonders how to get in contact with Angel Funes. Teo says she has to do something before it is too late. She ends up dropping the tablet off at the Funes company where it makes its way to Angel just as he is going to tell Braulio about Misael and Silvano having a connection. Rayo has taped a note on top that tells Angel to look at what his father is planning on doing to himself.

Angel goes rushing home asking Mirna where his father is. He tells her that Homero wants to kill himself.

"What should we do when we find out that a loved one wants to do something that will hurt our very soul, do we confront them or respect their decision?"

Camino #40 Part 1

Ursula and Memo descend the restaurant stairs as Fausto, Daniela and Isabela prepare to depart. Isa breaks away and runs to Memo and as he crouches down, gives him a huge hug and kiss, her sweet face radiating her affection. Dani gives Memo her keys to give to JuanPa; Memo hopes things will smooth over. There is reluctance and sadness in their goodbye.

Inside at the reception, Leo is singing but his serenade is clearly directed at Chuchita. Memo and Ursula rejoin the party as Memo pours himself a stiff drink. Then another. Ursula taunts Memo asking if it bothered him that that woman left with her husband! Memo is a man on a (drunken) mission and pays no heed. Cesar is taking all of this in, shaking his head.

Fausto screams at Daniela; he is her husband and he won’t let her treat him like an idiot. Dani retorts that he shouldn’t act like one and he is not her owner; she will do what is best for her daughter whether he likes it or not! I’m not sure what Fausto drank this evening but for Daniela, it was a shot of pure courage.

Already inebriated, Sebastian is (still) drinking as JuanPa comes up. He says he will ask Lupita to be his novia…to marry him! He always thinks of her and what he feels is supreme. JuanPa tries to dissuade him and is unable to stop his (now) double-fisted drinking.

You look divine Gaby tells Lupita. She teases Lupita she wants to look good for Sebastian. Sebastian stumbles in just in time to hear Gabriela say Memo is Isabela’s father.

Fausto denigrates Memo’s family to Daniela but she fiercely defends the Santos’ as they are Isabela’s blood family.

Sebastian is so soused it’s hard to tell his exact reaction but he does want confirmation. He asks Lupita for the story which she relays, asking him not to tell anyone. She leans in and gets a whiff of pure alcohol. She refuses to speak to him anymore because he is drunk! Come on she says and gets him out of the room.

Cesar tells Mac that he is going to live in Ursula’s apartment. He tells Macario that the baby is his.

Camino #40 Part 2

There is a bit of cake testing and more dancing. Ursula hoists the bouquet high above her head as the women line up. Leo is rooting for Chuchita to catch it which is sort of sweet. Uh oh, Lupita catches it. Sebastian looks stunned as JuanPa both laugh (they seem to be having a hard time keeping a straight face).

Memo, in full scratching mode, escapes to his room and Amparo follows. Memo says Daniela deserves a much better man than Fausto (as viewerville unanimously agrees). Amparo reminds him he has a child on the way and that man won’t be him…for everyone’s sake. Memo is beside himself.

Macario asks Cesar why he didn’t stop the wedding. Cesar tells him they made a deal. Weasel Macario wants in on whatever plan Cesar has if it involves money.

Humberto gives a nice speech and hugs Memo. Ursula grabs Memo’s arm. Lupita and Gaby wish their uncle good luck and hug Ursula. Another Santos family cheer ensues, this one with the newest family member, Ursula. The bride and groom dance out as Macario and Cesar stare, hands on hips, turning to look at each other.

Memo carries Ursula over the threshold seemingly trying to show happiness he is far from feeling. Gaby and Lupita have decorated the room; rose petals cover every surface- floor, bed, and table. Once Ursula goes to change, he recalls the conversation with Dani where they declared their love for each other. He grimaces and hits the wall in frustration.

Ursula comes out in black lace number and kisses Memo. She lays on the bed strewn with rose petals as she and Memo begin to kiss.

Dani’s face is mirroring her pain as tears stream down her cheeks. I’ve lost him forever she muses. How will I stop loving him?

Leo and Chuchita’s coach of choice is a green truck that is not emblazoned with the “Santos” logo. Leo doesn’t want to take Chuchita home because he doesn’t want the night to end. They end up on the glorious overlook where the city lights twinkle against the clear black night. He brings out his phone for music and they dance.

Camino #40 Part 3

Elsewhere, Fausto doesn’t want to fight any more about such insignificant people! Daniela doesn’t want to fight either but…they have to accept that Memo is Isa’s father and he will be part of their lives. Fausto interrupts her angrily declaring NO! Isa will never find out that Memo is her father!

Apparently, there was a failure to launch in the honeymoon suite. Ursula is in torment; it is our wedding night she cries. Memo feels badly; he is tired…he is tense…he is sorry. Ursula cuts to the heart of the matter and the unspoken truth. It’s because of her right? Tell me!! Her question hangs in the air; unanswered.

A soothing scene of Chuchita and Leo where real romance is blossoming.

Ursula accuses Memo of changing after he met “that woman”. She pleads that he love her just a little. Memo admits he drank too much. She wants to wait and try later. Memo does not appear to support that possibility so Ursula gets dressed and goes home. To think.

Memo cries what is he going to do? He loves Dani too much and his body won’t betray her. He cries as his body rocks.

Ursula is back in her room shutting the door and kneeling on the floor. The light goes on and suddenly, Cesar appears. He gloats, asking her what she is doing there on her wedding night. He taunts her knowing Memo couldn’t fulfill his husbandly duties. He reminds her that her marriage is false.

ON the bed in the cab, Chuchita and Leo are kissing passionately. Chuchita is hesitant and Leo quickly says he is willing to wait however long she needs. She says it’s her first time. He replies it is also is first time…with a woman he loves as much as he loves her. Smiles and kisses ensue. We see the dark sky and glittering lights as the rest is left to our imagination.

Camino #40 Part 4

Cesar rubs salt into Ursula’s wound saying that once Daniela arrived with Isa, Memo couldn’t stop looking at her.

In another unhappy bedroom, a sleepless Daniela recalls Memo taking his vows and watching he and a gloating Ursula on the dance floor.

Memo texts Daniela that he is worried; is everything okay? She answers that all is well and thanks him for worrying. Dani sort of smiles as he replies good and wishes her a good night.

Ursula sneaks back into bed just as Memo wakes. He apologizes and she laughs it off. She teases him he is now forbidden from drinking mezcal. After she gives him a few kisses, he comments it doesn’t look like she slept at all last night. (Viewerville can only shake our collective heads in frustration). Ursula apologizes for going off on him and will wait until he is ready.

Amparo says to Leo, (lost in daydreams of his nightdreams) that he looks like he was the one who had a wedding night! LOL - yet another truer than you can imagine statement. He murmurs sweet words about Chuchita.

Amparo has a lovely tray with a rose; breakfast for the newlyweds which she delivers herself. Ursula upbraids her and Amparo apologizes again and hopes to be friends which Ursula rejects. Ursula knows that Amparo hates that she is Memo’s wife. Amparo assures her that since she is having Memo’s baby, she will always support her.

Daniela assures JuanPa that things between her and Fausto are good (in other words, she lies through her teeth).

Camino #40 Part 5 (Last)

Ursula and Memo sit down to the delicious meal and eat heartily. Memo is happy Isa came to the wedding. Memo tells Ursula that when he and Dani were talking, Dani indicated that she might tell Isa that he is Isa’s father. Yes, just as soon as hell freezes over I add.

Chuchita is glowing with happiness as she tells Isa that she may be the next one getting married. Isa spills this newly brewed tea with JuanPa and Dani as Dani s jaw drops. JuanPa teases Chuchita as she blushes.

Macario is holding his stomach and bellyaching to Amparo. She scolds him for not resting last night. He lets it slip that Cesar is married, which catches Amparo’s immediate attention. She quickly says she hopes Cesar leaves. Macario reveals Cesar will stay longer than she expects as he is going to live in Ursula’s home. He doesn’t want her to worry as he will keep paying “us” rent. Amparo questions him – “us??” He quickly corrects himself, OK, you!

Chuchita and Isa are at the market. Chuchita is in a haze. A haze of love. Isa asks Chuchita what she is thinking about.

Macario is still trying to sweet talk Amparo but she isn’t having it, telling him he will still need to leave. I love you he murmurs kissing her hand; he pleads he knows that he messed up. He tries to sit up to kiss her but she pushes him back down. She tells him she still needs time and leaves. He is in pain but whether it is from his wound or his rejected spirit, is anyone’s guess.

Dani tells Karen how uncomfortable it was when Fausto arrived at the wedding. Fausto arrives and overhears Karen stating she thinks Daniela did right by taking Isa to the wedding. Daniela attempts to diffuse the discomfort telling Fausto that she invited Karen for lunch and she also asked Aaron to come. She tells Karen that they make a nice couple and wonders if perhaps Aaron may be the love of her life.

Another pivotal episode which you handled expertly. Your insight is always incredible.

I felt Homero’s pain during his doctor's visit. An incredibly heartbreaking situation but it is clear Homero is not being listened to. Also, when he discovered his tablet was gone but was brushed aside because of his failing memory/health was additionally upsetting. I was glad he struck back (I wish I could remember exactly what he said). Perhaps Rayo finding the tablet will be key for her and Homero to forge a relationship that might give him something more to want to live for.

Mati is conspiring to have Homero’s house held up with Rayo at home? She is approaching irredeemable territory. I have a very bad feeling about this. Also, I hope Teo comes to his senses before anything happens between them.

“Misael…grabs her by the arm and starts dragging her down the street. (She should have kicked him his nether region)” is exactly right! What an oxygen waster. Further, Misael has a hell of a nerve expecting Julia to wait on him. Oh, and he eats like a neanderthal. That said whyever would Julia say “she doesn't want him out there looking for other women”. A “BIG mistake” as you noted but unfathomable she would utter those words at this point.

Lenar had no loyalty to Jero and now, none to Donato. Sad. Donato needs to move on.

Mirna is so off-putting. And who exactly is Sergio?

Can Celeste make any headway when she is still in denial?

I keep thinking about the murderer clad in black who pushed Silvano to his death. I tried to gauge the size of the figure. It seemed to be a person of “average” size, possibly a woman, although my money is on Braulio. Misael seems larger than the figure I saw and I think they are making him too obvious at this point. I could be completely wrong!

Lenar is annoying. So now she thinks Gero can just take back his half of the house and thinks this will do what exactly? Convince him to get back with her? She doesn't know him at all then. But I still don't understand why she thinks he'd want to get back with her. Is it because she thinks that whatever she decides will happen? She sounds like thos rich spoilt women these tns love portraying. The problem is that she isn't rich so I don't seewhere this strange attempt to get what she previously didn't want might be coming from. She and Flavia should meet to compare notes. But Flavia is after Gero too so...
Maximo knows exactly what is going on so why doesn't he talk to Teo right now? Or is his attention span limited to one child at a time? When was the last time he talked to his son? However, he seems to have plenty of time to go to Ester and ask Gero to move out. All adults in this telenovela seem so focussed on their own problems that they forget about the kids. No one got suspicious Rayois reluctant to let them see where she lives. To be honest, this wouldn't happen if she were to tell this to a parent and not to one of her mum's 'friends'.
I want to give Geronimo a medal. Only one in a million would help a person with drug problems, especially if that person isn't even their relative or a friend. I hope this actor will play a nice guy in that other telenovela that's coming out this year.
Why exactly did Julia end up with Misael? I doubt he tried to hide his true behaviour from her so why is it that she fell in love with him? I wonder what kind of father he'd have been if they had had a daughter instead of a son. I bet he'd have been disappointed.

Thanks, Jarifa, this was a hard one to keep up with and so grateful for your recap! I thought Homero was doing something x-rated on his tablet! Don’t ask me why!! Hopefully things are coming together for Rayo and him. Julia recognizes the house, hopefully she’ll remember exactly where she saw it soon!

Mati just gets worse. I hate that Rayo is still stealing for her. I thought she had quit. I didn’t realize those guys were going to steal from that house. And Mati is helping them! I wonder if Mati will take part in the robbery.

Misael is going to have to do something to really disappoint Danny so Danny won’t be hurt when he gets arrested or worse.

I’m glad Julia and Angel are a team again. I hopeAna Sofia doesn’t try to mess it up.

So we know for sure Braulio is not honest. I wonder how low he would go. The way he talked to Rayo was unforgivable, so I think he could have been the murderer. Misael and the other guy were too obvious, watching from the street.

Jero is the nice guy in this. Will it be the last episode before he finds his true love-Ester. He has to be a saint to endure living with Flavia. That should be interesting.

Sebas must have an overactive self-sabotage gene. He was so close to getting everything he wanted and now suddenly he’s drowning in alcohol. I realize he might have an alcohol problem but he’s been sober for much of this story and now can’t step away from the bottle for a minute. Surely that’s linked to being on the brink of success or maybe emotions evoked in his chat with daddy…

Everyone seems to overhear when the talk is about Isa’s parentage, but no one hears a think when Ursula, Cesar and Macario are talking about their situations. And Ursula’s wedding night was spent with Cesar. How long will their luck hold out?

Ursula is getting what she deserves. Talk about a double standard. She’s upset with Memo because of a kiss(and how he feels)but she’s been sleeping with Cesar during all this. Or should I say “on the bed” with him. And not forgiving Amparo. I hope she’s the first one to discover the true Ursula, and shouts it from the rooftop!

Chuchuta and Leo are a sweet couple. She looked beautiful at the wedding.

Dani needs to think hard about her marriage and ask herself if she’d be better off without him. But I don’t think she’ll do anything until she sees the writing on the wall! Which will be a while. Karen and Aaron would be a nice couple if we didn’t know what they were capable of. Aside from causing the miscarriages she also tried to kill Isa in the hospital. I feel sorry for Eugenio when it all comes out.

Ursula may have used her wily persuasion to guilt Memo into marrying her, but there are certain things you cannot will to happen. All of her ranting and raging did not help but served to exacerbate the situation. The heart (and other things) work independently and of their own volition.

"Overactive self-sabotage gene" was a savvy descriptive of Sebas. He seems to be self-destructing, I completely agree, just when he receives genuine approval from his father and the chance for true love.

Jarifa, oh my , what an episode , and you supplied every detail of the darkness swirling around these characters.

My friend just lost her husband to Lewy Body Dementia last month . It is a devastating disease . I wonder if one of the writers had a relative with this disease because the details seem so specific and accurate .

I also think one or more of the writers has experience with teens because there is so much teenage drama depicted ....drugs, sex, rebellion , Secrecy.

Love is blind. Maybe Julia has a thing for hairy cavemen . Misael wants to be large and in charge again with Julia .... idiot.


Jero is the galan of this tale...kind, calm, forgiving ....everything you want in a spouse, parent, friend, child, gods ....yourself .

Flavia is fluttering . She hasn't bothered fondling her bell collection in quite awhile . She is losing control of.....everyone .

Ester is annoying but smart and computer savvy. She is certainly helping Celeste open her eyes to what Braulio really is. Go , Ester.

"Ursula is getting what she deserves". Absolutely! She knows full well Memo is in love with Daniela but is in full out denial. She is street smart and a gritty, lying fighter. Your comment about her and Cesar "Or should I say “on the bed” with him" had me smiling away.

Daniela finding out about Fausto and Karen will likely also be something that isn't discovered until much later. However, the way Fausto is treating Daniela, combined with the fact he refused to tell Isa about Memo is weighing heavily on her conscience. She may get fed up sooner than we think. We can hope!

Susanlynn, I was really surprised that Homero was diagnosed with Lewy Body. My brother-in-law has it, although not the dementia part. They live near the Mayo Clinic and see doctors there. But I’m surprised at the number of people that don’t know about it. I usually end up telling them it’s what Robin Williams had. When they were going through the original diagnostics my sister called and said pray it’s Parkinson’s. Really sad.

Mati has crossed the line into irredeemable. What she did is disgusting. Not too smart, either, because Rayo will probably realize what she is doing. But she is still in a bad situation no matter what happens in tonight's episode.

I still don't trust Cinthia. I've known a few addicts in my time.

Diana, I agree that Misael was not the one who shoved Silvano. I think I was either Braulio or Zac. Or was it Armando, who wouldn't have been in this situation without Silvan's threats?

Rayo is long overdue for protection from predators. Julia, Esther, and Celeste better step up. Two of them have protective men to help.

Liz, it really is a sad condition . My friend says she lost her husband before she actually lost him. She has been a wonderful friend and so was he, and my heart breaks for her. These shows can be wild and crazy , but they also sometimes reflect real life struggles , too.

Diana, Julia's comment about Misael out there looking other women was so misplaced but now hen I think about it, it seems to me that she had to say something and didn't know what else to say besides admitting to following him because she thought he was up to something illegal. Sad because Misael needs no kind of encouragement to try to weasel his way back into her bed. Rodolfo needs to wake up, too. No excuses fro him either.

waterlily, Lenar is basically goofy and she proves it time and time again. Jero dodged a bullet with having been replaced by poor Donato when he returned. Max needs to make for a happier Teo and a happier Flavia and take Teo with him when he moves out. All miserable Flavia wants is to provoke one more fight with somebody, anybody and make sure they are as miserable as she is.

Liz, my money is on Braulio, too. Excellent point about Misael and Zac being too obvious of suspects observing from street. Mati keeps getting worse and worse but she just dresses better and better as Ray steals more things and Mati sells them to get money. It sure doesn't look like the money is going to help Leonel in jail.

Susanlynn, Yes, Ester can be annoying but she is smart; just the kind of friend that Celeste needs. The writers have been excellent in this one especially with the teen scenes, addiction and , as you brought out, their knowledge of Lewy Body Dementia. "These shows can be wild and crazy, but they also sometimes reflect real life struggles." That is so true in particular with the VENCER franchise/series. All of the original broadcasts in all 4 novelas were followed with a PSA related to an issue in the show and phone numbers viewers could contact for whatever support they might need related to those issues. In that way, some novelas are great teaching tools besides being entertaining.

Urban, good comment about Cristina and addiction. I think it is a realistic portrayal. Sometimes it takes several stints in rehab before sobriety sticks if it does. Yes, Rayo is going to be between the proverbial rock and a hard place if Mati and her pal carry through on their plan.

So sad about Homero. Rayo is showing her true self in trying to alert Homero's family. It must be just awful to have people, who have no clue what he is going through, telling him what he should do and how he should feel.

Sergio is no good. He is butting into the family's business and not telling them anything about his own. Mirna needs to stop with Ana Sofia's asinine social media crap and use social media to research Sergio.

It will probably be a long stretch before anyone finds out about this paternity situation. Will Amparo overhear this in the hospital an hour after the birth? If so, will she recommend (demand) a DNA test? I'm sure the she-bear will do more than a few things to annoy her on the way to that.

On another note I hope Leo maintains a condom supply.

I think Sebas just doesn't want to grow up.

Adoption secrecy is bad, but Fausto wouldn't care.

If Eugenio once wanted to become a chef, could this tale end with him and Amparo owning a chain or becoming a celebrity chef couple? I think they deserve that.

Your comment gave me pause. I hadn't stopped to consider that the truth might not come out until Ursula gives birth. But unless Ursula has a change of heart (or grows a conscience) that does seem likely. Cesar wants the child to sell (scum that he is) so he would not profit by telling the truth nor would it help hanger on Macario financially. It could be possible that a DNA test needs to be done for one reason or another but...

I don't see Memo and Daniela moving forward unless and until Cesar is revealed to be the father so perhaps they will do a time jump? I've no idea, pure speculation.

I like Sebastian but his frat boy routine is wearing thin. As Cher said "snap out of it!"
