Oops! 3 thieves; 3 Sanchez Bros - one missing knife. That guy better not try to sell it to someone connected with Augusto! Lol - he's toast!
Part 1 of 2
We start with some flirting between Valero and Mica in the Guerrero kitchen and it’s as ridiculous as one might expect. They get interrupted by Sam, who doesn’t want to get into who punched him. But then Dam arrives and Valero asks if they fought over Domi AGAIN. Sam explains the burglars caused the bruising, Mica says her patrones were very upset because apparently the guys stole a few valuables: an old knife, an expensive watch, some painting. Dam takes notice when he hears about the knife, Sam asks about the painting.
When they are alone, Sam asks Dam about the knife, Dam says Jesus knows all about it already. What about you, Sam, were you with Domi? Sam says he was with Selena, but he never slept with her, he loves his Domi.
Jesus eavesdrops on Fede and Augie talking about the guy who shot Augie. Augie is sure the Sanchez brothers are after him, he will find them and show them who they are going up against. Carlota almost catches Jesus in the act. He and Carlota go inside the study, the car is ready for the test drive!
Dam calls his burgling buddies to ask them for the knife. Too late, it’s been sold, forget about it!
Emi tells Domi how happy she is, last night she had her first time, it was so romantic! Domi is worried, but Emi is smitten, everything was magical. And they did use protection. Domi is happy her sister had a special first time, Emi is already dreaming about rainbows and roses in the amazing Guerrero family.
Mari sees Jesus and Carlota leave together. She pouts. But Tata is also watching them.
Abel is worried about the boys playing with fire.
Augusto tells the brothers he trusts Jesus, but can he trust Damian and Sam, too? Trust is very valuable for him, if they betray him, all bets are off! Is he making himself clear? Both Sam and Damian declare he can trust them 100%. Augusto reminds them that everything that will happen inside the team has to stay between them.
Adrian and Emi want to go for round two, but they don’t have a condom, so they decide to talk instead. Yeah, right! They start kissing and drop to the floor. Yey for teen pregnancy!
Damiana and Carlota watch the test drive from up above. Later Dam tells Domenica that nothing can ever happen between them. The brothers see a money exchange going on between Augie and some guy, then he tells them the pilot can’t make it, they have to postpone the race. Damian offers to drive instead, Jesus vouches for him, so Augie agrees.
Domenica and Carlota are shocked to see the driver, but Dam does a great job, the test drive goes well.
Emi does a live about love and happiness. Her girlfriends want all the details and offer to celebrate with alcohol. Emi reluctantly agrees. Adrian talks to his mom’s picture about his girlfriend, too.
Victoriana snoops inside Carlota’s room and finds the gasoline. Rookie mistake, but at least it moves the plot along.
Mica tells Mariluz she found out Victoriana tampered with the pozoles.
Conchita tells her daughter she thinks they should forget about the whole pozoles deal, especially since nobody died. Silver lining and everything…
Heriberto comes to see Lupe to tell her some inspector has arrived to do a sanitary check following the intoxication incident. Lupe starts scolding the inspector (like one should), her house is very clean. Mari arrives to say that she asked for the analysis, they need to prove the pozoles was OK when it left their house, something must have happened to it after. Lupe suspects Victoriana had a hand in it, Mari confirms it.
Part 2 of 2
Victoriana shows Augie the gasoline, his daughter will end up burning the house with all of them inside (valid point). Augie defends Carlota, she needs their help, she’s no killer, she could never hurt another person! In front of Augie’s complete blindness (I’d call it disinterest) Victoriana decides she needs to take matters into her own hands, by getting Carlota out of her house.
And speaking of, Carlota is in the kitchen again, baking another cake for her boyfriend. Victoriana comes to confront her about the fire. Carlota, holding a huge kitchen knife, accuses Victoriana of hating her, and therefor making up stuff about her.
Victoriana downplays her interest in the fire, she couldn’t care less about it! All she wants is for Carlota to marry her novio and she will help her. She already has a cake related idea to hurry the wedding. Doesn’t take a genius to figure out what Vicky’s next plot is.
Jesus explains that Tata told Augusto that the Sanchez brothers are after him. But he couldn’t tell him it was them for now, Valero is doing surveillance duty, trying to prevent him from reaching Augie. Carlota calls Jesus to say she misses him already and has an idea, she invites him over tonight. Victoriana is with her, actually impressed with Carlota’s acting. She has a sexy outfit for her, she needs to wear it tonight.
Mari, Lupe and Conchita barge into Augie’s mansion. Heriberto tries to calm them, but there is no turning back. Lupe accuses Victoriana of putting poison in her pozoles, someone has seen her do it. Victoriana tries to humiliate them, but Lupe won’t have that. And if Victoriana ever goes to the police to complain, everyone will know the truth. Augusto intervenes, says Lupe deserves an apology. Victoriana will never!
Conchita is sad, as much as she loves Augie, her daughter is more important. He promises to clean Lupe’s reputation, but she doesn’t want to hear about it! And they all leave, with Conchita asking Augie one last time to stop his wife’s madness. Lupe is a good woman, her only sin was her love for him. Mari overhears this, asks if there was really a connection between them. But Conchita drags her out.
Adrian tells Damian that he hates that he has to hide his relationship with Emi. And his parents should take better care of her, too. Which is pretty accurate, since Emi and her friends are all drunk and planning to go see Adrian.
Fede tells Augie that their goon couldn’t kill Elisa Sanchez, he only hurt her, because some people were coming. For Augie it’s obvious the woman is still alive. Tata calls to talk to Augie, but he doesn’t want to speak to him directly, so he asks Fede to handle it. But Tata will only deal with the big boss, so Fede suggests they meet in an hour.
Augie gives instructions to Fede to get rid of the guy as soon as they have all the information on the Sanchez brothers they need.
Jesus is preparing for his date with Carlota, reminds his brothers this is part of the plan, it’s no fun and games, he’s doing his duty. Damian points out he needs to make Carlota very happy tonight if he wants to keep fooling her dad. Alone, Jesus apologizes to Mari for what he is about to do. Oh, dude, be a man! Close your eyes and think of England!
Someone on the phone tells Mari something about her dad, she tells her mom she now knows who her father is. Yeah, right, like that could ever happen on episode 28.
Augie is restless, thinking he will meet the Sanchez brothers tonight.
Jesus arrives at an address Carlota gave him, their future love shack probably. She is waiting for him dressed in a silk robe and she means business. Jesus looks kind of impressed, I don’t think he’ll have an issue doing his “duty”.
I might have missed some of the connections, as I haven't watched faithfully in a while, but I guess the main points are there.
I kind of feel like Mari is not even needed right now, she is to much of a cliché. I'd find the whole story much more interesting if Jesus truly fell for nutty Carlota and helped her overcome her deamons. Augie is a so called great father, but he's oblivious to all that his daughters are going through. Vicky might not be the best of mothers to Emi, but at least she's trying to keep an eye on her, while Augie delegates all his responsabilities. He keeps finding excuses for Carlota, instead of getting her some real help and Domi, the golden child, can do no wrong. As for his other daughter, Mariluz, he wished her dead before she was born, so...
Thank you Adriana!! And welcome back! I missed your humor!!! Your recap had me cracking up!!
'Oh, dude, be a man! Close your eyes and think of England!' and 'Yeah, right, like that could ever happen on episode 28' were among my favorites!!
I understand, I guess, that Lupe wants to keep Mari from finding out who her father is because Augi said if he ever found out he had a bastard child he'd kill it. But it just feels so weird to me the idea of a woman refusing to tell her adult child who her father is! Maybe I just live in a sheltered existence, but I can't imagine that happening in real life.
I agree with you 100% Augi is NOT a good father. He appears it on the surface but don't dig too deep, or at all! I am surprised Augi keeps opening threatening people he barely knows, like Jesus and his brothers, this guy has been getting away with doing shady business on the down low for 20+ years but he doesn't hesitate to threaten anyone and everyone at will, doesn't sound like the how-to-remain-incognito manual to me!
I also agree the story would be more interesting if Jesus truly feel for Carlota - that would be fun to watch! A lot of this story is kind of cheesy and cliché but I still really like it for some reason, probably Sam! :)
It's so disappointing Augusto doesn't care about his daughters at all. Victoriana is insufferable, but I hope he pays dearly for not listening to her.
When Augusto made them swear they'd be loyal, I wanted to laugh. I expected him to pull out a knife and tell thema blood pact is required. The only reason he caught those who didn't keep the promise was most probably because they are as arrogant as he is.
Ema and Adrian and the pregnancy...I might stop watching if this happens because I could do with less pregnancy plot lines.
Didn't Victoriana say something about picking out clothes that suit Carlota's style or something? Carlota replied with something I didn't get and wished I had.
Is close your eyes and think of England n actual saying? I love it. It's so funny when a man refers to having sex as such a duty when you just know he isn't going to suffer.
One thing I caught when Augi asked them to swear their loyalty. Sam said yes, but Damian actually said ‘you can trust me as much as we can trust you’ meaning not at all!!! Lol
Waterlily, sorry I don’t remember exactly what Vicky and Carlota were saying when they were picking out clothes. I never heard the ‘think of England’ saying before but it cracked me up!!!
The "close your eyes and think of England" expression comes from Victorian era, it was used as encouragement for unwilling brides. I had to google the meaning, as I had forgotten where it came from, but it always comes to mind when I watch the type of plot Jesus and Carlota are involved in.
Emi being a diabetic teen with a drinking problem is too much, it actually makes me laugh. Crazy as she can be, Carlota might even think about keeping the baby for herself and Jesus to raise, after faking a pregnancy for whatever reason.
Howdy, Patio. Welcome back, Adriana, and thanks for a wonderful recap and new phrase to toss about. Thanks, Patio for all the comments and analyses.
When Mommy Dearest pulled out the sexy outfit, I thought Carloca said something to the effect of “Nice color” - red, as she was already wearing red.
The Emma nonsense is too much. It’s 3 (or more) PSAs wrapped in 1.
•Amores Verdaderos.
•Teen Pregnancy.
•Insulin monitoring.
NEXT!
Augusto really is reckless with his threats; I’m glad Damián got slick and slipped that in (there is zero trust).
Is pozole-gate finally over?
I appreciate the anonymous tip that the pawned knife my result in three dead thieves (instead of Sanchez Brothers).
Today should be lots of fun!
Back to the Jesus and Carloca’s rendezvous and Jesus visibly gulps when he gets a glimpse of his ‘surprise’ Carloca in a red nighty and robe. Carloca approaches and tells Jesus she wants this to be their night. d Abel calls but Jesus isn’t even able to check and see who is calling before Carloca takes the phone from him and tosses it away. They kiss passionately.
Mari and Lupe are fighting again but this time it is because Mari believes Celestino is her father, Lupe insists that he is NOT her father! But Mari thinks mom is lying to cover the truth as always. She tells Lupe she found her marriage certificate and she figured it out. Why did you get married? Mari asks, weren’t you in love with Don Augusto? Lupe finally sits down and tells Mari the story about how she fell in love with Augusto when she was young, she was just an employee and he was the owner but somehow, he noticed her too. It was a dream romance and they were going to get married but then the dream was destroyed and he married Victoriana. And that’s when you met and married my father, Mari concludes. This time, Lupe doesn’t correct her and just says yes.
Damian plays the guitar and Domi comes out and waves, tonight his glance is less hostile but he doesn’t wave back. He stares for a second but then climbs down from the truck. ‘You choose, Domenica’ he says to the sky, ‘And now I have to live with it’.
A very drunk Emma shows up to meet Adrain. Adrian is upset she’s been drinking and Emma says she didn’t want to but Renata talked her into it! The conversation doesn’t get any further because Emma passes out right there on the spot.
Jesus and Carloca are making out on the bed and he tries to suggest they slow things down by opening the bottle that’s chilling at the table. Carloca isn’t the slightest bit interested in slowing down and keeps right on kissing Jesus’s neck. Next, the shirt comes off!
Lupe tries to convince Mari to forget about that man who was never was a father to her! Mari points out he never knew she existed but Lupe is as stubbornly insistent as always. Finally, Mari gets to the bottom line, She IS going to find her father whether mom like it or not!! Lupe just remembers Augi’s threat again and worries about Mari finding out the reason she had to hide it.
Carloca is still trying to convince Jesus to make love to her! LOL She says ‘I love you’ but he doesn’t reciprocate. Jesus tries to say they shouldn’t because her dad wants them to take it slow but Carloca says as long as I’m happy, dad will be happy too; and I am very happy. Jesus thinks back to his pact to use the daughters of Augusto and leave them broken hearted and steals himself. He’s all systems go, for about 20 seconds!! Then Carloca says ‘I love you so much!’ and Jesus just can’t do it. He begs Carloca to forgive him but he just can’t. He takes off fast as the flash!
Adrian arrives at the hospital with Emma. He knows her name and age but nothing else. He has no idea what meds she’s on but she needs help, NOW!
Tata is still stalking the Montalvo house and this time he’s spotted. Damian calls him (and I want to know just when he got and saved Damian’s number in his phone cuz it comes up as Damian) Damian offers him 5,000 dollars in exchange for him leaving Augusto’s house and forgetting about going to Augi! Unfortunately, Augusto is also watching the cameras and he notices when Tata leaves and crosses the street to the Guerreros. Tata comes for the money and this time Valero is hiding with his instruction ‘you know what to do’. Damian tells him the money is real and all there but he has to promise to not return to Augusto. Tata finally agrees, but surely no one is stupid enough to believe him? Valero pops up and goes to put a robe over Tata’s neck? That fails immediately (they should have just recorded incriminating statements or something) as Tata knocks Valero unconscious. Damian goes to pounce but Tata pulls a gun. Tata tells them that as soon as he leaves he’s going to tell Montalvo everything, big surprise! Tata orders Sam to tie up Damian and Sam is about to obey as usual when Tata takes a step back and trips over a tool. Sam screams out ‘No Tata!’ but Tata falls, hitting his head on the corner of the wall (I hope he’s dead this time!!!)
Damian thinks Tata is dead and Sam is trying to wake him up. Damian has to physically stop Sam from touching Tata and drags him off to call an ambulance. When they leave, Valero wakes up and tries – sort of hilariously to wake Tata. But then wisely takes his hat and gun.
Augi and Fede are still watching and noticing Tata is still in the mechanic shop. They wonder what he wants with those mechanics. Fede thinks maybe they are in collusion but luckily Augi doesn’t. He knows that Tata once tried to kidnap Samuel and he was told he tried to extort them same as he’s doing to him. All Tata is about is money. Augi orders Fede to go across the street and find out what is going on! Get that man out of there and get the information about Octavio’s sons no matter what you have to do! Fede tries to protest but Augi isn’t negotiating tonight!
Jesus won’t answer and Sam is still upset because they need to help Tata! Damian says the ambulance is on its way! The boys are upset that they can’t get a hold of Jesus. Valero returns with the hat, the gun AND the $5,000!! He’s all proud of himself as he explains what he did, but Damian is concerned that he moved the body! Do you want the police to think we killed him? He asks. When Valero realizes he may have been playing with a dead body he faints clean away.
How did Fede get a whole Men in Black tribe that quickly? Anyway, they steal the body quickly and without being seen and the Guerreros are left to wonder what to tell the police when they show up and there’s no body. Sam is relieved to know/believe Tata is alive.
Adrian is kicked out of Emma’s room and the nurse tells him they need to talk to an adult responsible for Emma. Adrian calls Domi – again how does he have the number? – and asks her to come immediately.
Mari now has to deal with Conchita because now that she’s taken a stand to find her dad, Concha wants her to fight for the man she truly loves instead of settling for Isaia! She says Jesus doesn’t look the slightest bit in love with Carlota and she needs to fight for him! Concha says Jesus is a good man and it’s obvious he only has eyes for Mari! She doesn’t understand either why Jesus is doing what he’s doing but Concha is sure he’s worth the risk.
Jesus arrives and so do the police… Damian and Sam quietly tell Jesus exactly what happened. The police are with d Abel viewing the security camera footage so it should be pretty clear it was an accident and that the body was stolen. The boys tell Jesus about the cameras showing the men taking Tata and Jesus is sure that at that very moment Augi is finding out they are Octavio Sanchez’s sons!
Domi tells her parents about the call and that Emma is in the hospital!! There’s a lot of yelling and blaming but they head to the hospital. Carlota shows up, still in her nighty, yelling for Papa! Mica tells her he’s not there because Emma had an emergency and is in the hospital. Carloca asks why this had to happen tonight!! Why doesn’t Emma just die already!! She shoves Mica and exits.
Tata is dead!! Fede learned nothing at all! He calls Augi with the bad/good news.
Sam is sitting with Damian and Jesus and falling apart over what happened with Tata. He knows Tata wasn’t a good person, but he took care of him. He gave him food and a place to live when he had nothing. Damian tells Sam it was an accident and it wasn’t his fault. Jesus reminds him that they are his brothers, his family, he’s not alone. Sam is fully crying now and he says that Tata never loved because he himself was never loved but Sam loved him anyway and he’s going to miss him! His brothers hug him as he cries and viewerville is reminded that whatever progress Sam has made he still clearly needs trauma counseling! (This was a powerful scene and so moving. Christian de la Campa (Sam) nailed it!!)
Just as Damian and Valero are wondering where Adrian is he calls and tells Damian what happen, Damian heads to the hospital.
The doctor tells Augi, Mommy Dearest and Domi that Emma is suffering from Diabetic Alcohol Shock (or something like that) and is still unconscious. They have to wait and see how she reacts to the treatment. He mentions Adrian got Emma to the hospital in time and if she could have gone into a diabetic coma if she hadn’t been brought in when she was. He says only one person can see her. Vicky goes??
She finds Adrian instead and attacks him, insults him, and basically just goes off liked the wicked witch that she is!!! Damian arrives and pulls Adrian away. He wants him to leave but Adrian absolutely refuses to leave the hospital before getting news on Emma.
Domi and Augi headed to the chapel to pray, and Domi is praying promising to always be there for Emma if God lets her live. Augi is not praying and I don’t blame him, because God would probably send a lightening bolt if he tried…
Adrian admits he’s in love with Emma and Damian warns him it’s dangerous. Damian tries to convince him to leave Emma, he can’t seem to understand that Adrian can’t control how he feels anymore than Damian can control his love for Domi. Speaking of, Domi approaches like a normal person and hugs Adrian thanking him for saving Emma’s life. He asks if Emma’s awake and Domi says not yet, but she’s strong and will be okay. We have to have hope! Domi too, suggests Adrian go home and rest but Adrian refuses again. He walks off a few feet.
Left alone-ish, Damian tries to apologize for Adrian, but Domi says no problem, just let him stay. Damian grimaces and touches his head. An astute Domi is instantly alerted and asks what’s wrong with his head. Damian says nothing, he just hit it on something. Domi doesn’t look convinced. Damian says he’ll be back in the morning to get Adrian and check on Emma. Domi says it was nice seeing him and Damian returns the sentiment. He says whatever you need count on me, well count on us! He makes his escape while Domi is still trying to glimpse the back of his head.
Domi says she’s going to go check on Emma and she promises to tell Adrian if there’s any news.
A heartless Carlota is trying to get Augi to fix her problems in the bedroom!!! LOL She doesn’t give a damn that her sister is in the hospital. Augi agrees to talk to Jesus tomorrow, probably just to shut her up. After she hangs up, Carlota looks in the mirror and asks: ‘Why don’t you like me? Why don’t you want to be with me?’
Damian gets a voicemail from Peste saying he needs to talk to him immediate. It’s a matter of life and death.
Adrian is sneaking around the hospital, trying to find Emma, I’m sure.
More Carloca obsessing over Jesus, I can’t keep tying this. She tries to call and gets the message he’s unavailable. She looks outside and sees him on the phone. Jesus is calling Mari of course, because she’s his only peace. Jesus says she’s the best thing that ever happened to him and she says he’s the worst thing to ever happen to her. Jesus starts in with his one day you’ll know crap and Mari tells him until that day comes, don’t call me! Stop harassing me!! Carloca is still watching and wrath is in her eyes as she imagines correctly, he’s talking to the florist.
Mari tosses and turns remembering Concha’s words to fight for love or he’ll regret it. Domi too is remembering things, she thinks back to Damian rubbing his head in the hall and to her hitting the robber over the head. She shakes her head, no it can’t be, Damian can’t be a thief!
Peste thinks Damian is still on the hook since Sam ruined their score. They have another job tomorrow and Jesus had better help them.
Carloca, still dressed in her nighty, shows up AGAIN at the shop in search of Jesus. Valero tries to talk to her but she shushes him and walks right in uninvited! She makes it all the way to the bedroom and finds Mariluz’s hair thing that she tried to incinerate under Jesus’ pillow. This infuriates her even more. Now she’s sure that he is with that damn florist!! She stalks out, smacking the hell out of poor Valero as she goes!! OUCH!
Jesus comes out of the bathroom, shirtless again mmm.. Valero tells him Carlota was here and left pissed. Jesus checks his pillow and deduces what happened.
Emma wakes up in the hospital, Domi asleep on the couch in her room. She wants to know what happened. Domi starts to tell her but Emma is still confused. Domi says she’s going to tell the doc she’s awake, she’ll be right back. Domi also texts Adrian telling him Emma is awake but the nurse won’t let him enter because mommy dearest forbade it.
Carloca dreams that Mariluz and Jesus are together and Mari is taunting her about Jesus being hers and having her perfume on him! She wakes up as desperate as ever.
Lupe and Conchita fight over telling Mari or Augi that Augi is Mari’s father again. Lupe wants to talk about how they are going to get jobs and make money for a deposit on a place to live instead. Mom remembers they are about to be evicted, right? Conchita doesn’t waver and asks what Lupe is going to do when Mari finds Celestino and tells him that she is the daughter he had with his former wife?
Mari is talking to Celestino as they speak and setting up a date to meet and talk in person, this afternoon. Carloca sneaks up behind Mari once more and tells her Jesus won’t carry Mari’s perfume, he is hers. She shoves Mari hard, and then a pot falls and hits Carloca on the head, she immediately tells the people passing by that Mari tried to hurt her and she’s crazy.
Sam is lovingly cleaning the blood off the wall and Valero is at his wit’s end!! He keeps telling him to stop but Sam keeps saying ‘it’s Tata’, Valero goes to try to stop him physically, or demonstrate something, or do some type of Valero thing and he ends up knocking a brick loose from the wall. Actually, it was already loose and as Valero pulls it out he finds something VERY important!!! That’s right, the documents of Beltran were in the shop after all and after 447 searches they are finally found! Jesus is called immediately and he confirms the discovery.
About Capitulo 30, as I commented above I didn't realize until late yesterday that today's episode was going to be a double episode and I just didn't the the time budgeted in my day to do a double recap. I am committed to recapping Camino tonight too, so there's just no way I can get this done. I'm really sorry. I will post later some comments and reactions to the episode, but it won't be a full recap.
Carlota convinces everyone that Mari attacked her and even convinces some kid that he witnessed it. A kid is sent for Jesus and he comes to get Carloca and take her to the hospital. Somehow Carlota convinced the whole crowd that Mari did it and they back her up. Carloca grins maliciously and Jesus quietly asks d. Abel to check the security cameras and tell no one.
The boys are happy to have the documents to incriminate Augusto but d. Abel doesn’t think it’s enough, with his power, Augi would be out of jail in a week.
Adrian puts on some scrubs and gets ready to sneak into Emma’s room. Emma and Domi bond and Em asks about Damian. She mentions she heard Damian the night of the festival talking about some knife.
Augi and Vicky come to visit Em and Vicky lays into her the second she enters saying nothing but she’s a weakling and an embarrassment and she deserves this. Augi gets the call that Carlota too is in the hospital and leaves immediately without saying anything directly to Emma.
Adrian manages to sneak pass Vicky and Domi but Domi recognizes him and says nothing. Em and Adrian are reunited. He places her in a wheel chair and wheels her off somewhere to cheer her up.
Sam goes back to the ranch since Tata isn’t there and visits his dog, he is haunted by the memory of Tata though and leaves quickly.
Carlota tells daddy the same lie about Mari attacking her because she hates her but Jesus says he’s sure it isn’t true. Augi recognizes Carlota has a difficult personality but if she lied, she must have a reason! What’s going on between you and Mariluz? Jesus says nothing but Augi doesn’t believe him, he says either something is up between them or Carloca isn’t lying and Mari attacked her. Before they can explore this more Fede arrives and Augi tells Jesus to go to Carlota. Jesus eavesdrops a little first though and hears Augi and Fede talking about how the landowners don’t have the money for the payments and they are about to default.
The police come to arrest Mariluz and Lupe actually thinks she can offer to be arrested in her place?? LOL
Jesus has a plan to give the landowners the money anonymously so they can pay off Augi. He can’t wait to see the look on Augi’s face when his scheme is foiled.
The family is gathered around Carlota and Vicky is going off about the savage who beat Carloca! Domi tries to be more diplomatic and says slow down we don’t know what happened! Mica comes running in and begs Augi to help Mari because she’s being arrested!!
Jesus goes to the prison and promises to get Mari out of jail! He utters all the words of love and kisses are shared. He tells her the security cameras caught it all and it’s clear Carloca provoked it. d. Abel is going to take care of everything. Mari is relieved Jesus believes her and he says he always believes her; he knows who she is.
Villalba shows up with roses at the Garcia’s but no one is there of course. He calls Lupe and is told where they are. Before he can head that way, he encounters Celestino who is there to see Mariluz. The two men shake hands.
Lupe and Conchita try to argue with the poor police officer that Mari should be released just because they say she’s a good girl. Augusto arrives and Lupe and Conchita lay into him too. Augi says he just found out and he offers to pay Mari’s bail. Lupe doesn’t want to take his money but Concha does, by the end of the conversation Lupe is practically in Augi’s arms begging him to pay Mari’s bail.
Domi and Carlota are actually having a sisterly chat but Domi doesn’t believe Mari actually attacked Carloca. She thinks it must have been an accident. Carloca is impossible of course and Domi decides to leave and go visit Emma. Left alone Carlota is thinking her plan worked better than she thought and Mari will rot in jail, she’s wrong though. As a police officer is telling Augi the security cameras clearly show Mariluz didn’t touch Carloca and her injury was a result of her own doing. He warns Augi that if Mari chooses, she can report Carloca for defamation and moral damages. D. Abel asks Mari herself, do you want to report her? Mari declines for Augi’s sake.
Adrian reads Emma a poem he wrote for her and tells her he loves her. Emma is sad because she thinks she doesn’t deserve him, he’s too good.
Vicky doesn’t want to go see Emma. She’d rather stay home and drink and ‘recover’ because her body hurts. A disgusted Domi goes without her. But not before seeing Damian with shady Peste. Sam saw too and wants to know what’s going on, Damian tries to tell Sam to butt out but he insists. Damian tells him some story about a debt and wanting to keep his brothers out of it so they don’t get in trouble too.
Lupe goes on another keep Mari away from Jesus and Carloca rant! She’s glad now Vicky bought the house, they should go far far away! Conchita is still arguing for telling the truth, doing the right thing and letting Mari be happy with the man she truly loves!
Villalba arrives WITH Celestino and he’s shocked to see Lupe and learn Mariluz is Lupe’s daughter. He’s further shocked and actually happy to see Augusto who he greets heartily. Augi doesn’t remember him but when he introduces himself, Augi gives the spills the fake news, ‘Oh, you’re the father of Mariluz!’
Sam goes to get the boot money to help Damian but Jesus already used the boot money to give to the landowners. Abel shows up and gives them the money. No strings attached, no contract, nothing asked in return simply take the money.
Jesus has another for love or for revenge conversation with daddy’s grave.
Mari is released and Conchita thanks Augi although he didn’t actually do anything. Augi points out Celestino is there worrying about her too and he refers to him as her Papa! Mari is thrilled to meet her ‘papa’ and although Celestino never knew of her existence, he’s thrilled to learn he has a daughter.
Darcy, thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into these silly stories. Double episodes are the worst!!
I was actually dissappointed that Jesus didn't sleep with Carlota, what is a girl to do to get some from a sexy hot mechanic?
For now Emi is still sick but I hope someone does something about her situation later. My only hope comes from Domenica, nobody else in that family seems to care about her at all.
I am really liking Domi and Dam, they make me want to tune in. Mari and Jesus... not so much. And Conchita is getting annoying with her "fight for love" rants to Mari. I'm all about woman power, but the guy is openly dating someone else, Mari should be encouraged to work on building a career and maybe finding a way to get her family out of poverty.
Valero thinking he can ovepower Tata was funny, the guy was bigger and stronger. So many peopne hit their heads recently I have a hard time keeping them all straight in my head. Luckily, only the bad guy lost his life over it.
More later!
Thank you again, Darcy, I hope you're having some much needed rest this weekend, I'm working :(
Darcy, your apologies (like logic and disbelief) are not accepted here. Thank you so much for your recaps and dedication to our shows!!! Please accept my companion notes for this double whammy.
From Part 1:
I always love a good rhyme. Persuading Mari to dump Isaías and give Jesús a chance, our favorite abuela busted out with “Soy Conchita pero no soy mensita.” Nice.
Carloca, in search of anvils, really did say Emma should die already and showed zero empathy, humanity, and likability for an entire 12O minutes.
Darcy, we unofficially co-founded the “I Sam” club early on in this novela. His mourning the despicable Tata was indeed moving and (unfortunately) realistic. Why can’t Sam have anything (as he bemoaned before)?!!
When Carloca called Augi to complain about Jesús going slow, I was very distracted by Augi’s pompadour. How have I never noticed this before? It was magnificent. I want to watch the opening credits/older episodes. There’s no way this sculpture has gone unnoticed. New look? More later.
Conchita & Guadaloopy are revisiting the same old temas for the 16OOth time. After a meandering monologue, Conchita tells Lupe she’s turning into Villlalba. Preach!
I like that the evidence uncovered by Valero’s patented Kramer-isms includes a ton of papers and a cassette(!).
I was actively booing the urchins and ruffians who were supporting Carloca’s version of events regarding Mari’s “attack.” …and I’m truly a kid person!
When Adrián was trying to sneak into Emma’s room as an RN, he stumbled upon her parents and POOF! the pompadour was gone (no pun intended). It resurfaces.
How the heck did Emma - busy switching clothes, losing her virginity, visiting hand-built bungalows, and staying two steps ahead of Mommy Dearest - manage to overhear Damián grousing about stealing a knife. My beanie now matches Adrián’s scrubs.
Of note: when MD read Emma the Riot Act and Augi got the call that Carloca was also in the hospital, Augi disappeared. MD actually gloated that Augi was off to save his favorite. It’s not subtle that part of Emma’s bad decisions are the result of parental neglect. Meh. Would like to care.
Damián @ the shrine to his Mom: We will find you, Mom. I need your love.
Carloca plays the victim to Augi and declares how savage Mari is. She says “Look at this attack!” and shows him (maybe 2) stitches. LOL BAM! The pompadour is back.
Sam goes to Tata’s on Pinto and reconnects with Jeremías (a beautiful German Shepherd) who’s a fellow victim of Tata’s neglect and bad cooking. As mentioned , Sam skedaddles when Tata’s ghost appears.
I liked the delicate dance of Augi asking Jesús not to do anything to make his crazy daughter act crazier (paraphrased). Fortunately, Fede interrupts with the whole matter of the landowners.
Lupe, Conchita, and Mari recognize that you can’t have Carloca without the loca and suggesting Mari stay away and stop provoking.
When Jesús visited Mari in jail, it almost seemed like a dream sequence. I was surprised that it wasn’t - Jesús has the proof to exonerate our heroine and move the story forward. YAY!
Lupe & Conchita act the complete fool at the police station. Augi shows up and they (justly) accuse his family of trying to ruin them. As mentioned, L&C flip and beg for help.
I liked the power shift when Augi was informed that Carloca was the aggressor and Mari could file charges accordingly. Mari takes the high road.
I really do want to support Adrián & Emma’s relationship so let’s find something positive to say. I got it! Adrián looks much better without that ridiculous earring that’s supposed to represent street dancer/orphan.
Mommy Dearest needs to recuperate from spending the night in the hospital without 5 star accommodations - waiting on her ungrateful daughter to regain consciousness. Instead of visiting Emma with “Meni” (Domi who’s been waiting), she’d rather stay home and rejuvenate with a drink. Domi blasts her for the example she’s setting.
The next sequence is action-packed. Peste shows up menacingly. Domi witnesses while driving by. Sam overhears and confronts Damián - standing his ground. He will tell Jesús what’s going on and he doesn’t care if he’s labeled a snitch. Damián counters that if Sam doesn’t keep quiet, they will all end up in the cemetery.
Jesús confides in Don Abel that Carloca is loca and he can’t go on. Don A urges him to turn Augi in.
Conchita & Lupe see Jesùs and Don Abel leave the hospital and continue their 3OOOth round of “Everything I do, I do for Mariluz.”
Monies are delivered to landowners. Jesús cries at papi’s grave. Augi instigates the farce of Celestino being Mari’s paternal unit. FIN
Thank you Adriana & O.S.!
Adriana, ‘My only hope comes from Domenica, nobody else in that family seems to care about her at all.’ So true!! And so sad! Emma deserves better and she is an absolute push over which is the only way to explain a friend like Renata!
You have an excellent point about Conchita and how Mari should be encouraged to follow her career, etc. I guess Conchita never bothered me because I am so disgusted by Lupe's insistence that Mari should marry the married cheater who lied to and deceived both Mari AND his wife for who knows how long, just because he supposedly left everything for Mari and truly loves her!!! YUCK!! I've always just seen Conchita as balancing that nonsense out.
O.S. characters discussing the same old temas is my biggest pet peeve and struggle as a recapping. I hate typing the same ol' BS day after day. I feel like writing 'Conchita and Lupe have the same conversation as yesterday' and leaving it at that!
Emma overheard Damian talking about the knife when he came into the shop and she and Adrian were hiding in the backseat of the car. I remember wondering if his voice would carry and if they could hear him in the car. I guess the answer is yes.
I thought Jesus and Mari at the jail was a dream sequence too!! I think I even typed, here comes the dream sequence but then I had to delete that sentence! :)
