CAMINO Ep 58 Part 1

After Isabella asks if Fausto wouldn’t be upset if she called Memo “papa”, Satan sows the seeds of doubt and curiosity. After he tells her that he would not forbid her from calling Memo however she wants, he asks Isabela what Memo told her, so Isabela recounts what Memo told her about her mother. After she finishes, Fausto tells her that his mother is right, it’s best that she go ahead and believe in everything that memo told her. Isabella asks if he is trying to tell her that memo lied to her.

The three young couples hug their respective mates. Leo doesn’t know what to say regarding Amparo’s separation; he knows that Gai and Lupita are having a hard time with it. They need to make the decision to be strong because their mother has always shown them how to be strong. Gaby and Lupita agree that they need to be there for their mother; and Sebastian and JP agree also and are there to support them. They then go out to help Leo make his music video.

Isabela tells Fausto that Memo loves her and he would never lie to her. Fausto responds that no one will love her the way he loves her but she shouldn’t worry because whatever Memo has in mind, he will always protect her from him and anyone else. Isabela wonders why he saying that, so he tells her that there are many things that her mother doesn’t want her to know, and he thinks that it’s best to speak with the truth. When she asks what things her mother doesn’t want her to know, Fausto tells her that that’s the thing...he can’t tell her. He then pointedly tells her that he is going to talk to her mother in the study and they are going to be talking about memo and of her...and once agaih he emphasizes that they are going to be talking about Memo and her.

Amparo and Eugene are having dinner in an elegant restaurant. She’s very impressed. She then tells him that she asked Mac for a divorce.

Meanwhile, at the animal house. Yo-yo doesn’t know how Amparo doesn’t miss Mac's kisses (Viewerville certainly understands!). Mac thinks that his wife will miss him right now and Power Out is with that man but when it passes she will forget about the divorce. Yo-yo tells her him that and Amparo doesn’t love him anymore. She didn’t even care that he was with her. Mac refuses to forget about the land that he is entitled to. Yo-yo suggests that he needs to talk to a lawyer… And he should ask for 50% of the land! But he needs to get a hold of a lot of money because a lawyer like that is very expensive. Mac knows how to get the money… He can get it from Fausto He can tell him that he will sell him half of the truck stop if he gives him the money for his divorce.

At Satan‘s house, Fausto insists on talking to Dani in the study because he is so worried about his daughter (yeah, right!). He closes the door, but then leaves it slightly ajar. He brings up that they should have left to protect Isabela from Memo. They need to talk, and they need to know what they’re going to face from now on. Isabela approaches the door and listens as Dan1 tells him that Memo threatened her…he will get a lawyer, and he wants to take Isabela from them. Isabela looks terrified.

At the restaurant, Amparo thanks Eugenio for the night; it’s been incredible. Eugenio invites her to finish the night with some coffee at his house. But she prefers not to. She doesn’t want things to go too fast and she’s worried about her children; she wants to go see them. Eugene understands and wants to end with a toast...
 

CAMINO Ep 58 Part 2

As Isabela continues to listen, Fausto insists that he is not going to let Memo take their daughter. Dani cries that if Memo succeeds in taking Isabela from them, she will die. Fausto tells her that she shouldn’t have taken Isabela to talk to Memo, especially alone without him to protect them. Dani continues that her stomach turned with all of Memo's hypocrisy when she heard all the lies that he was telling Isabela. Fausto leads her to talk about Olivia and what happened. When Dani cries that her daughter can’t know the truth…that her biological mother was in prison, Isabela cries silently and shakes her head.

At the house of haunts, Memo tells Ursula that he is excited because it’s the first time he talked to Isabella as a father. Ursula mentions that now that the lawyer will help him so Isabela can live with him, hey will be a lovely family. When Memo tells her that he should tell Dani that he got lawyer, Ursula tells him not to because it would only alert Dani and she might pull something else and take Isabela forever. Memo won’t let that happen, but Ursula points out that Dani is not the good person who he thought she was.

Fausto leads Dani to talk more about Olivia and what Zulema told her about her. Dani mentions that Olivia would swear that she was innocent, and they set her up; Olivia never mentioned the man’s name, but Dani also thinks it was Memo. She wonders how Memo could abandon that poor woman who was so ill; and then make her believe that her baby had died during birth. She asks what kind of human being does that! Memo killed her with all that pain and sadness. Isabela then enters and asks if her mother was in prison and cries that everything Memo told her was a lie!

After Leo finishes, his music video, the young folks gather in the restaurant and cheer for him. Gabi will upload the video. Leo comments that it wasn’t difficult to pretend to be in love because he was with the woman that he most loves. When he kisses Chuchita, they all teas him.

Fausto asks Isabela what she’s doing there. She cries hysterically because she doesn’t want Memo to separate them… She doesn’t want him! Memo is a liar and her mother died because of him! He killed her! She doesn’t love him and she will never forgive him! !s she yells that she hates Memo, she runs up to her room and Dani follows her...while Satan smiles with satisfaction. Up in Isabela‘s room, Dani asks Isabela what she’s feeling. Isabela replies that she feels like crying so Danny tells her to go ahead and cry; and if she doesn’t want to say anything, then she doesn’t have to say anything. Dani just wants to hug her. Dani assures Isabela that she loves her and they will get through this with time. Isabela then asks her to promise that Memo will never separate them, so Danny promises that nobody will separate her from her.

Eugenio takes Amparo home and tells her he has a marvelous night with such a beautiful woman. They KISS!

 

CAMINO Ep 58 Part 3

Fausto asks Dani how his Princess is. Dani replies that she finally fell asleep; she was exhausted from all the crying and her heart was in pieces. Dani would have given her life to avoid having Isa find out the truth. Fausto thinks that it’s best to reveal the truth no matter how cruel it may be. Dani will ask the psychologist for an appointment right away. After Fausto agrees, Dani confides that she is so afraid that Memo will take Isa from them and if that happens she will die! Fausto assures her that his lawyers are better and that won’t happen! Memo will not destroy her life just as he did with Olivia! He will not allow Memo to take Isa from them! As he hugs and consoles Dani, Satan grins in satisfaction.

Next morning, Eugenio is in a very good mood. Sebas is happy to see him so happy. When JP comments that he has to get going, Sebas reminds Eugenio that JP has his competition today. Eugenio takes the opportunity to call the most beautiful woman in the world to remind her about JP’s competition.

Now at the competition, everyone is there clapping and cheering for JP. Memo keeps looking over to Isabela who is focused on the the competition. The first two competitors get 8s and 9s. Memo finally sees Isa look at him and gives one of their special winks, but she does not return it; instead she gets up and sits between her parents. JP who is announced to be performing a very difficult dive gets ALL 10s!! Everyone cheers and claps…and Memo continues to look over at Isa.

After JP receives his gold medal, Gabi goes up and gives him a long juicy kiss as Grace looks on with great disgust. Isa is excited that her uncle got the gold medal. When Isa asks Fausto is he doesn’t think JP was incredible, Fausto replies that JP could have shined more. Dani shoots him a “I can’t believe you said that!” look (I would have added “jackass, but Dani is too nice…or maybe not! :-). When Memo approaches and asks Isa for a hug, she responds with a chilling, “Leave! Fausto is my papa! Not you! I don’t love you! And I will never love you!” Fausto picks her up to carry her as Isa gives Memo a seething look.

Humberto is watching Leo's video when Leo walks in and catches him. When Humberto comments that he now thinks that Leo's calling is singing, Leo is very touched and tells him that he needed to hear him say that.

Memo tells Isa that he doesn't understand why she is talking to him that way and reminds her that he loves her very much, Isa cries that he is a liar! When she tells him that her mother told her that he talked to a lawyer, Memo shoots Dani a questioning and disappointed look, Is continues that he wants to take her from her parents but she doesn't want that. She doesn't want to live with him! She wants to stay with her mother and her father Fausto. After Memo wants to explain, Fausto questions what he will explain--that he wants to destroy their family and take their daughter? Memo insists that HE is Isa's father, but Isa cries NO! Fausto is her father, her only father!! Fausto then takes Isa away. Memo tries to follow but Dani pleads that he not do so.

Leo explains to Humberto about "liking" the video. He then reads some of the comments and sees that a producer wants to see him!

 

CAMINO Ep 58 Part 4

Memo is clearly devastated. Dani tries to reach out to him but hesitates. Memo asks her if she got what she wanted. Dani wonders if he wanted her to lie to Isa...he threatened her with the lawyer. Memo thinks that he is an idiot, but Dani insists that she is the idiot for allowing herself to be lied to. When Memo tells her that it is her fault that his daughter now believes that he is the worst of fathers...she will never forgive her!! Dani counters that he is reaping what he sowed...because of all his lies and pretenses. When she adds that he will not destroy her or her daughter like he did with Olivia, Memo asks what she is talking about! Dani demands that he stop pretending but Memo swears that he would never hurt his daughter! Dani argues that he already has since he got a lawyer tot ake her from the family who took care of her when she was defenseless. After Memo tells her that he only did it because they tried to take her away, Dani pleads that he disappear from their lives. Memo refuses...he will fight for his daughter!

Now at home, Dani tells Isa that she understands her sadness, but they need to move on. Dani suggests going to the park, but a sad Isa tells her she wants to go to her room. Dani comments that it breaks her heart to see Isa like this; and when Faust agrees and adds that...it will pass, Dani gets another "did you really say that?" looks and goes to see Isa.

Ursula is planting her own seeds of doubt and evil as she tells Memo that they wanted to take Isa from him...he'd better not even think of telling the lawyer to stop the proceedings. Memo fiercely scratches his beard, Isa is suffering, he doesn't know what to do. Ursula suggests that is what Fausto and Dani want...for him to give up.

Dani asks Isa to tell her what she is feeling. Isa tells her that she doesn't want to see Memo, but she misses Chema. Dani tells her that neither Chema or her are to blame for what is happening with the adults. Isa then mentions that she wants to also see her cousins and her grandfather; so Dani promises that she will see them. When Isa suggests that it would be nice if Chema attended her school, Dani will see if she can make that happen.

At the restaurant, everyone is celebrating JP's win. Amparo comments to Eugenio that she had never seen her daughters so in love.. and Gabi is now concentrating on her studies. Eugenio adds that Sebas has also become more grounded since he met Lupita. And then...the dark clouds appear and Mac introduces his "friend." Yoyo tries to get close to Chema but he grimaces and steps back. Meanwhile, Lupita asks her father why he brought that woman. When he reminds her that her mother asked him for a divorce, states that he won't be hiding, he adds that she needs to mature, Lupita runs off in tears as Sebas follows.
 

CAMINO Ep 56 Part 5

In her room now, Lupita cries; she doesn't understand what her father is doing, She tries to give him a chance and he always lets her down. The first thing he did after her mother asked him for a divorce was to bring that woman and caresses her! When she cries that seh was dumb to think that love lasts forever, Sebas assures her that it is not a dumb idea. She needs to realize that not all couples work out...but that doesn't have to be the case with them. He reminds her that they are like penguins who only have one mate forever. After he tells her that he loves her they kiss; and he tells her that he wants to be with her forever. She loves him too and things get hotter as they lay on the bed!!

Back in the restaurant, Gabi is throwing dagger looks at Mac. When JP goes to get her a drink, Grace pulls him aside and pleads that he not tell anyone that Yoyo is her mother. If Lupita and Gabi find out they will hate her; and she loves them very much...they are her only friends and she can't lose her job. After JP agrees not to say anything and leaves, Grace wipes away her non-tears.

Amparo and Eugenio chat about Karen and how much Eugenio must miss her when Karen calls. After Eugenio leaves to answer the call, Yo approaches and tells Amparo that she doesn't understand how she could let such a passionate man as Mac go. Amparo tells her that when someone hurts her, she loses interest. Yo thinks she is only saying that but doesn't mean it, but Amparo replies that she just need wait and see--once she throws out her shoe, she won't pick it up again...it's up to Yo if she wants to pick up a used shoe!! (LOL, you go girl!!) After Amparo leaves, Mac asks Yo what Amparo said, so Yo tells him to forget about Amparo...he needs to contact Fausto and get that lawyer because this gal (Amparo) is in a rush to hook the rich old guy!

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #70 Part 1

Notes from the couch just the facts edition

TIME CHANGE TOMORROW: Univision announced tonight that "Vencer" will start 5 minute early tomorrow to accommodate the State of the Union Address.

HEADS UP! David Ostrosky who plays Homero had to be replaced in the last weeks of filming because of a medical issue. His replacement is Rodrigo Murray. He is dressed in true Homero style!

-Julia and Misael end up almost playing tug of war with Danny. Danny wants to go with her but Misael won't give in. The social worker says they need to compromise for Danny's own good because if they don't she will give Danny's custody over to social services. Misael finally gives in. The lawyer reminds them that the custody issue will be settled in court. Misael will contact his lawyer so that things are done the right way. He will not let them take his child away. Just when you think Misael is gone, he makes another appearance. Danny has left with Chepina and Gina. Rodolfo and Julia are left. Misael starts to argue again with Julia and brings up how she got pregnant just to rope him in. Rodolfo is not pleased hearing that and goes to punch Misael in the mouth but Misael is faster. Misael punches him so hard in the face (on the side he doesn't see very well on) that he knocks him to the ground. He calls Rodolfo an old man and tells him to shut up. He finally leaves and Julia helps her father up.

-Danny in his "bad seed" incarnation is happy to be home with anyone but with Julia. He makes that clear.

-Angel is called by the doctor at the hospital that his father had an incident and it is important that he comes ASAP. Angel tells Ester to cancel out all of his appointments. He leaves. Braulio asks if the documents are prepared for the partnership signing. She tells him to cancel the signing because Angel had to go to the hospital.

-When Angel arrives at the hospital, he finds out that his father didn't have another episode but is lucid as ever. The doctor says that he was shouting, kicking, and was so difficult and foul-mouthed that they had to sedate him. He was screaming that they were keeping him against his will. He was threatening to sue the hospital. The doctor thinks it is best that Angel take him home. The doctor says his condition is basically the same.

-When Angel brings Homero home, he and Mirna end up arguing about his care as usual. After a while, Homero has heard enough and shuts them both up. Rayo doesn't understand how they can say what they do when their father hears them and must realize that neither of them wants to care for him. She adds that they come off as being selfish. Is it really so hard to understand that soon he won't be with them?

-Laura drops Cinthia off and makes it clear that the is putting all of her faith in her and wants to know if she really has really quit drugs. Cinthia insists she has. Laura is really happy to help Cinthia get her son back. Cinthia says thanks to her, their lives are going to change. As Laura pulls away, a squad car with sirens blaring is behind her. Later in the episode, Laura pays Cinthia a visit to tell her that she was arrested for drug possession. She blames Cinthia for having left her drugs in her car. She doesn't believe that Cinthia is not using. She is sorry she ever helped her and hopes she doesn't get custody of her child. He is better off with "that woman" (aka Ester).

-Max phones Ester to tell her that Laura was arrested for drug possession. Ester thinks that it must run in the family, Max doesn't think that is fair because Cinthia turned herself around.
 

VENCER Part 2

-Rayo finds out that Teo is spending his days in the park and not going to school because he is being bullied. She advises him to talk to his mother. She tells him that a girl named Marcela Durán (character from "Vencer el miedo" played by Paulina Goto who also sings the theme to "Vencer la ausencia" )once told her that mothers aren't as bad as we think they are. Rayo is sure that his mother will listen to him and help him. Teo thinks his mother is just strange. Unfortunatley, he is right. He goes home and tries to talk to Flavia who cannot be bothered with him.

-Flavia confesses to Jero that she is in love with him. He makes it clear that he sees her only as co-worker. In the conversation it comes out that Jero is in love with Ester. Flavia tries to press him for some affirmation by asking him if it weren't for Ester would he be . . . Jero isn't going to answer that question because he doesn't want to hurt her feeling. It is best too let it go.

-Braulio is a busy little bee. He talks to Misael who is still enraged having been bested by Julia . Braulio says it is nothing new because Misael always takes the bait when it has to do with his now "ex". Well, Misael is not going to let her get her own way and take his son away from him. Braulio tells him to not be so sure. She has Angel Funes on her side. Misael doesn't want to talk about Angel. When he appeared on the scene was when his life went to hell. One of these days he will get rid of him. Braulio asks him to not do anything stupid and just leave Angel to him. When his straw man signs the partnership papers, Braulio will be the real owner of all of those shares and Angel will never be able to get rid of him because they will be partners.

-Julia and Angel have a nice romantic interlude in the park. They catch up on what is going on in each other's lives. Angel talks about how he feels like his life is off course because by taking over the family business, he is not able to follow his own interests. Julia says he didn't have a choice but she is confident that now he will find a way to organize himself so he can do both. That makes him smile. She is slow to kiss him until he reminds her that she is now DIVORCED. She has to admit that she is not ready to do more than kiss at this point. Angel understands. She can take all the time she wants.

-Julia tells Angel that she feels like she has to tell her friends what they found out about Misael not being the driver. He asks her to think about it because it could have repercussions.

- Mirna is being pressured for more money from Sergio before he will come back. When she says she cannot get her hands on any money, he suggests she sign out a car from Funes. She is an owner of the company. He has somebody who is going to buy it from him. Mirna ends up signing out a car.


 

VENCER Part 3

-Braulio buzzes on to AnaS. He wants to know her real reasons to be at Funes. She admits to being interested in Angel but is also interested in the company itself. She has a lot of capital invested in it. Braulio says he could return that money by supplying a buyer for all of the shares that Angel has promised her in payment and come out ahead. The money could come from the new partner who is ready to sign on at the Funes company. He is a prestigious impresario and an expert in finance. He warns her that when the other partner signs on, he and Angel will end up running the show. He has no idea what her role will be. She says she doesn't get involved in all that. Braulio is just warning her that it will be very easy for them to get rid of her. That gets AnaS's attention. She says that Angel never told her any of this and she was under the impression that they were going to work together. Braulio tells her it is best that she trust nobody. It would probably be best if she leaves with her dignity intact and sells the shares that Angel is promising her.

-Angel almost breaks into the apartment where they found the bloody gauze but is stopped by the hand of a neighbor woman who remembers him from the first time he came looking for info. She assures him that nobody has lived in the apartment since he saw it last time.

-After having her hare brain poisoned by Misael, AnaS goes to see Angel at home. She is angry that he didn't her about another partner being added and she being the last to know. She feels that Angel has taken advantage of her family's generosity and reminds him of the money that she and her father has given them. Angel is aware of the loan from her father but he doesn't remember her ever giving him any money. AnaS tells him that Mirna has been asking her for money and she has given her not a little but a lot. That is news to Angel.

-Julia meets with Ester, Celeste and Rayo and tells them about her trip to talk to the police in Matehuala. She was depending on Misael being found guilty as one way to keep him from getting custody of Danny but that is not going to happen . The police ran some tests and came to the conclusion that Misael was not driving the truck. So, now they are trying to find out who was. Ester says if Misael was not driving the truck but was willing to take the blame for driving it and the accident, he must have had an agreement with whoever was driving the truck that killed Margarita and her son. Julia says that she and Angel concluded that the driver had to be somebody that Margarita and Iván knew because they would not have gotten into the truck with a stranger. Ester thinks it is probably somebody they all know.

Rgv Chick, we know Fausto is the devil incarnate but the skill with which you cleverly and deftly peeled back the layers of his evilness was that of a consummate writer. As you sagely noted “Satan sows the seeds of doubt and curiosity”. That Fausto would encourage and ensure Isabela heard all the lies about Memo showed him to be the heartless, lying monster he is. You painted this dark passage perfectly, revealing the broken heart of a young child used and abused in the most callous manner. “Isabela looks terrified”. As well she should.

There is no need to renumerate the multitude of sins Fausto committed tonight, what you wrote covered every wound and tear. “As he hugs and consoles Dani, Satan grins in satisfaction” was stomach churning.

I so enjoyed your “house” definitions, “animal” house and “house of haunts”. “Grace wipes away her non-tears” and “the dark clouds appear” said it all.

Loved the sexy music playing during Amparo and Eugenio’s kiss. It might not have achieved the passionate level I would like to have seen but each successive kiss is at least picking up steam. When Eugenio talked with JP and Sebastian the next morning, he looked as though years of his life had melted away. I like the fact that he is always by Amparo’s side when she needs him.

Now that Grace has told Juan Pa she is Yo’s daughter can her father’s identity be far behind??

Disappointed that Daniela’s instincts aren’t blaring sirens in her mind that things are so wrong on every level. When will the dawning of understanding come??

So Karen called Eugenio…I’m hoping she is on the next plane back. Never thought I say this but someone needs to start unmasking Fausto and she seems to be the only one who can turn the tide.

Jarifa, you consistently maneuver convoluted plot twists and dangerous turns expertly and with great finesse. Far from calm, things are ratcheting up at a frenzied pace. Yet you relay all of the events clearly and completely replete with your marvelous humor.

“Ester thinks that it must run in the family”. With purposeful intent, Ester planted “evidence” which would not only ensure Cinthia would never get custody but have far-reaching repercussions. Laura, innocent of any wrongdoing was arrested and now has a criminal record. Ester is now mired in the quicksand of her own making.

“After having her hare brain poisoned by Misael…” had me laughing out loud. Ana Sofi is fairly intelligent but her feelings for and obsession with Angel has clouded her business acumen. She is also too trusting of Braulio but then again, so is Angel. Perhaps it’s best I not even mention Celeste 😊

‘Danny in his "bad seed" incarnation is happy to be home with anyone but with Julia. He makes that clear” perfectly described that scene. The only consolation is that hopefully Danny will soon be away from Misael’s influence.

Flavia rejects Teo, Jero rejects Flavia. Will Jero reject Ester??

I have a feeling who might have been driving the van but I’m sure of nothing…

David Ostrosky gave such heart and emotion to Homero’s character, I will miss him. I hope that in real life, he recovered well.

Jarifa, I wonder how long it will take Ester’s lies to be revealed. Your superb recaps are completely engrossing. And always appreciated. Thank you.

Rgv chick, thank you!! This was hard to watch and I imagine hard to write about! You took one for the team! As Diana said you covered every emotion and betrayal perfectly!

Falso hit a new low, not surprising but disgusting. Diana worded it perfectly, ‘ That Fausto would encourage and ensure Isabela heard all the lies about Memo showed him to be the heartless, lying monster he is. You painted this dark passage perfectly, revealing the broken heart of a young child used and abused in the most callous manner.’ I would have added something much worse than Jackass this time!!! Some lines shouldn’t be crossed but sadly some human beings are heartless!

I am trying to think of something positive to say to balance out the Satan of it all but I am coming up blank. Amparo and Eugenia’s date was sweet but not sweet enough, Lupita and Sebas’s I love you’d felt more like desperate clinging than healthy emotion, Isa is back to horrified and crying and Ursa is thrown in for good measure!

I hope Karen does come back and stir things up! We need some hope on the horizon!

Thanks, Rgv Chick, that was wonderful, but distressing! I’m sure it was hard to write. I didn’t realize how Fausto had stressed that he and her mother would be talking in the office a couple of times. Can he get any lower! And Dani makes me mad because she’s so oblivious to how bad he is. Just his non-compliment for JP would make me hate the guy. Perfect 10’s aren’t good enough for him.

I don’t like Mac’s plans to get 50% of the land. Yolanda brings out the worse in him. And I’m not sure why Grace told JuanPa about Yolanda being her mother. I don’t think Mac or Yolanda would tell anyone.

The Amparo/Eugenio date was nice. A bright spot! And Humberto encouraging Leo with his singing career. We have to search for these bright spots!

Hope Sebastian and Lupita don’t go to far! And hope Karen does come back and cause some trouble for Fausto. Poor Isa needs to be rescued from Fausto or she’ll be in counseling for life!

Wow, Sergio is muy greedy , and Mean Mirna is unbelievably dumb. She says she has no more money for him, and he doesnt miss a beat as he tells her to get a car for him to sell. This guy is a skilled Wheeler dealer .

This show seems to be one long PSA about caring for an elderly parent .

Falso never seems to surprise us with his heinousness, does he? And Dani is oblivious! It's frustrating as heck!! Darcy, "I am trying to think of something positive to say to balance out the Satan of it all but I am coming up blank." Exactly! I really hope there is a turn for the better soon; I'm getting tired of evil winning over good.

I too was disappointed with the dinner date, but Amparo is right in that they need to take things slow since (unfortunately) she is still married to the rat.


Just to clarify, Grace didn't tell JP that Yo is her mother. JP met Yo when he took Grace home after her (fake) accident where JP hit her with the car.

Weirdo, sorry I hadn't responded to your question. Univision hasn't mentioned anything about what will replace "Camino". My best guess is that it may be "El Amor Invencible" since it will start airing in Mexico very soon.

Many thanks again, Jarifa, for your regular recaps of this busy telenovela.

I couldn’t figure out who that guy was that came in the house with Angel. When I realized I was so disappointed. I never seem to like the replacements as much as the original. Although this has only happened to me twice!

If the driver is someone we know I would have to go with Braulio. He and Misael are partners. I’m hoping Celeste realized her hubby was away in that timeframe. I’m not sure how long he would have had to be gone. But I have lots of hopes now! I hope Mirna wakes up before she sells the car. I hope Angel thinks twice about a new partner. I hope AnaSofia doesn’t sell her shares to Braulio! Which would mean she needs to be smarter than she comes across! And I hope Ester comes clean about what she did.

I feel sorry for Julia being shut out by Danny. I know he’ll come around but it will be interesting to see how the writers make that happen.

What Ester did was really evil. Will Jero still love her. Do we want him to? He’s better off single!

Poor Lupita was completely distraught and "clinging" reflected her reaction exactly. When she laid down on the bed with Sebastian, she wasn't thinking clearly, she wasn't thinking at all. I have every confidence that Sebastian will rouse her from her tear filled trance before anything happens. While I am sympathetic, Macario has said and done everything to shatter her misguided illusion as to who he is. Now, she knows and has to move on.

Liz, I too think Gaby met Yolanda when the gang took Grace home and Gaby mistook Yolanda's bedroom for the bathroom. IIRC, Gaby apologized to Yolanda back then. JuanPa, speak up. You owe Grace nothing.

Macario is such a fool. He and Yolanda made it clear in front of his family that they didn't hook up just recently as he claims.

Eugenio's wise cool and calm when facing Macario's crassness are his best feature. This kiss was better. But my advice for the next kiss is to let Amparo make the first move.

I can barely look at Dani and Isa. I wish Dani would tell Memo the awful (untrue) things she's found out about him, but of course that's not the TN way. You'd think she want to at least know the "why" behind the awful things he did.

A shame that Homero had to be replaced. I hope the actor is okay by now. I don't envy the new actor having to establish a warm camaraderie with Angel and Rayo on a dime, but good luck to him.

I suppose Braulio could've been driving the bus, but I'm having trouble seeing him actually troubling himself to do hands-on work. But then he was probably hands-on about shoving AnaSofi's dad down the elevator shaft.

Mirna has really gone around the bend. Thank goodness AnaSofi blabbed to Angel. I give AnaSofi credit for at least confronting Angel to confirm what Braulio (for his own benefit) told her.

*Stupid observation - Angel's and Misael's shirts. Like regular folk, Angel has repeated his clothes. He's worn the black & white shirt from last night at least twice before (I remember because I don't like that shirt). But I don't think Misael has worn the same shirt twice (or maybe I'm distracted by the chest hair swirls).

Interesting! I didn't know that Mi Secreto had 2 seasons, I thought it was 1 with many episodes.

If it does air in early afternoon, I guess it'll be covered in the Daytime page. I'm glad it's back!

I wonder if Ester will be sufficiently regretful once her lie comes to light. She doesn't strike me as someone who likes admitting she's wrong. Her constant desire to have a go at Max as a failed father isan indication of grief, but I also suspect it' what she is more likely to do in general. How are we supposed to be glad when she inevitably ends up with Geronimo? If she had been a true friend to him, this would feel less odd. I know she was grieving, but then maybe we're better off with no romance here. Why can't Geronimo embrace singledom?
The writers really hit me hard with that whole 'go to your mother' bit here because I was wondering what was the point of using this in a situation where a parent doesn't seem to care. Here it's even worse because she is busy going after a man. I have this weird hatred for women who are more interested in men than their kids. Was Flavia so desperate to get Max that she got pregnant? I suppose if she wanted what Ester had, this makes sense. But she'd have been better off not having kids. Does she even love Teo? And where is Max? Has he forgotten he has a son?

I believe Amparo and Machave that 'common/shared wealth' agreement (what is a term for this in English?) so all their wealth is common. So what can Amparo do in this situation? But it makes no sense for her to have to give up part of something that was never Mac's to begin with.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by the patio. With so much skullduggery going on, it is hard to keep up with all of the machinations.

Diana, I loved David Ostrosky as the grandfather, too. There was something so comforting in his presence. This kind of actor change happened in "Vencer el desamor"with Lino the serial rapist, if you remember. In that case, I preferred the new Lino (Marco Treviño) to the old Lino (Leonardo Daniel). It also happened in "La Reina del Sur" after the first season with Oleg one of the main characters. After two more seasons and 120 more episodes, I started watching the first season recently and had forgotten who the original Oleg had been. Anyway, I am glad I could provide a few laughs in midst of all of the drama. Braulio had an outstanding episode last night. He seems to be storming on full steam ahead and even threatening Misael. I wonder who is going to stop him. Angel sort of started to when he had to go pick up his dad and had to delay signing on the new partner. Maybe that will give Angel enough time to discover something incriminating about him. Braulio better keep his eye on Misael. He could go off at any time and take him down with him.

Susanlynn, ". . . Mean Mirna is unbelievably dumb." I believe she would sell her soul for the promise of a wealthy husband no matter how much of other peoples' money she had to invest in her cause. Somebody should get her and Ester and Flavia to the
shrink ASAP. I will also be an unhappy camper if Ester is all contrite in the end, serves no jail time and ends up with Jero.

Liz, I am right there with you for your choice of Braulio as the driver. Who else could it be ? We know he has been involved in illegal shenanigans with the finances of the company. Yes, Jero has not had real good luck with women in this novela . I agree that he might be better off single.

I had't noticed Angel's but you are right about Misael. It seems like there is a new shirt each day.

waterlily, I really felt sorry for Teo last night with him giving his so-called "mother" one last chance to act like a mother and then seeing her blow him off. As for Max, he was closer to Teo for a while but after the home invasion, he seems to have abandoned him. Neither parent knows he is not in school and neither cares enough to notice. Flavia clearly was never mother material but as you mentioned, she wanted what Ester had. There are some nasty characters intros one.

Notes from the couch

FLASH FORWARD: An ambulance driver approaches a nurse at a hospital desk and hands her some ID from an apparent fatality. He tells her that she needs to make the notification ASAP because the person is an organ donor.

1. As the women continue to discuss the possible identity of the driver, Rayo reminds them the her mother always had a lot of secrets. Maybe she knew the person who was driving but they don't. They conclude that Misael had something to gain from taking the blame. The next question is: who is Misael protecting? Julia says since Misael wasn't driving, maybe he had no idea of who was and then just took advantage of the situation when it presented itself because he knew that sooner or later, he would get out of jail.

2. A tearful Cinthia is still trying to convince Laura that she had nothing to do with the drugs that were found in her car but Laura cannot be convinced. The worst part of it for her was that she started to believe in her sister again. That is why she gave her another chance when everyone had turned their back on her. Jero comes out and asks what is going on. Laura says it is better that he not get involved. It is between her and her sister. Laura tells her not to contact her again and almost leaves but then she turn around. She asks Laura to forgive her. Laura turns around and asks her if she knows what it feels like to be followed by the police and treated as if she were a criminal and judged as a drug addict. She will no longer help her get her son back. He would be better off with Ester . Cinthia says she has to get her son back. Jero tries to enter the conversations again. (didn't he get the message the first time?) Laura tells him not get involved and not to waste his time. Cinthia will have to face the consequences of her decisions on her own and maybe one day she will learn her lesson. She leaves.

3. Jero asks what happened. Cinthia gives him the short version: Laura is not going to help her and she will not be getting custody of her son.

4. Mirna arrives at the agreed upon location in the Funes car (Wow! it has Funes stenciled on the side and on the hood!!) She calls Sergio. She is where he said his contact was to meet her. She doesn't have the title to the car and wonders if he will still want to buy it. He tells her no worries. The guy is a specialist in taking cars apart and selling them for parts. Mirna thinks that is horrible. She thinks the guy must be a criminal or something close to it. (Ooooo! Is she starting t think? Is there a flicker of life behind those eyes?) He apologizes for putting her through this but if she doesn't help him, he won't be able to return. If she cannot do it for him, maybe it would be better if they just said goodbye forever. Mirna, of course, says NO to that. She texts his contact that the car is available.

5. At home, Angel is with AnaS and calls Mirna. He wants to know where she is. She looks around bovinely and doesn't even know what to tell him. He tells her to come home immediately. He has just found out that she has been borrowing money from AnaS and he needs to know what is going on. She looks stricken and sort of moans. (or is it moos??)

6. Chepina asks Danny why he is being sort of pain to his mother. Ever since he went with his father, all that she has been doing is crying and crying. She is sure that he must have missed her, too. Nope, he didn't miss her and he didn't cry because he isn't an old broad. Gina doesn't like what she is hearing and comes over to find out what's up. The bottom line is that Danny thinks that his mother loves Angel more than him.

7. Ester thinks that they should confront Misael. Julia nixes that idea. She knows him and he will never tell them the truth. Ester has to agree thinking back on how he said that they had kidnapped him, etc. Ester wonders if Julia has ever thought that the reason that Misael disappeared after the accident was to leave her and Danny behind. Celeste is appalled that Ester would ever say that. Misael could have a thousand reasons that have nothing to do with Julia. She wonders where Ester comes up with these ideas. As they start to argue, Ray quiets them down and suggests that if they don't ask Misael, how will they ever know who was driving.

8. Jero wants to find out what happened. From what he can glean, it seems that Cinthia's sister was stopped because of drugs by the police. Cinthia says her sister is blaming her for an incident with the police and now will not support her in getting her child back. Jero is giving her off the night and tells her to be calm. She asks how is she supposed to do that.

9. Julia asks her three friends to not mention anything she has told them with anyone else. Angel is the only other person who knows this or about what she told them and the bloody gauze. Celeste wonders if Margarita hired somebody at the last minute to drive. Rayo can't see her mother having done that without letting them know. They start to discuss that possibility anyway when Max arrives. The friends leave.

10. Ana Sofi tells Angel she didn't want to start a disagreement between siblings but she felt like she had to tell him. He is glad she did. He is frustrated that Mirna is taking so long to get there. AnaS tells him to relax. She wants to hear about the new partner. He assures her that his inclusion will do nothing to change her participation in the company. She is there at Funes just as he is by obligation to their families. She wants the money back that her dear papi lent him and now her money that she lent Mirna. She still remembers when they were planning a life together and all she wanted was to get married, live in Valle, and have kids. He doesn't seem to remember that at all. He admits that he remembers but now that is a part of the past. Mirna finally arrives.

11. Angel asks Mirna to clarify some things they are not sure about. He wants to know about the money that AnaS lent her. Mirna cannot believe AnaS told him.

12.Max asks Ester why all the mysterious talk with her friends. She would rather talk about Cinthia's sister and assumes that she will not be taking custody of Denis now. Max says he will check on the issue tomorrow.

13. When by herself, Ester concludes that Margarita must have met Cintia up in Laredo and maybe Misael did, too. (???? the woman needs another job to keep her noggin' busy)

14. Cinthia tells Jero that she has decided that she does wants to go to work. Staying by herself is the worst thing for her. She can distract herself by working. She also wants to tell him exactly what happened. He says only if and when she wants to. The door bell rings. It is Lenar and Ebe.

15. Lenar is inviting Jero to lunch at the house tomorrow. She wants to make sure he is going to watch over the boys while she is on her trip. Ebe says she is like a mother hen. Jero thanks her and yes! he will be there. He invites them to stay. She says no, they will see him tomorrow. She gives him a hug.

16. Mirna starts lying saying she borrowed the money to pay for the wedding expenses, the hall, the banquet and the honey moon. Angel is having hard time with this knowing that a date for the wedding hasn't even been set. She says but the novia has to pay for it all. It has always been this way. AnaS can't believe what she is saying. Angel know that she is lying and asks who is behind this all.

17. Rayo comes in and Mirna blames Rayo for running to him with her gossip. Rayo has no idea of what she did. Mirna says thanks to her now Angel knows that she has been sending money to Sergio because of the of scary things he has been going through. After a second, Mirna realizes that Angel and AnaS never knew about Sergio and the money. She outed her own secret. Angel invites her to sit down. He asks her to please explain what is going on.

18. It is meal time and Danny refuses to sit next to his mother where he always has sat. If he has to, he will go play in his room instead. He leaves. Chepina fills Julia in that a a short time ago Danny told them that she loves Angel more than him. Juia goes to talk to him. Things cannot go on like this.

19. Julia goes to talk to Danny. She knows he is angry because of Angel. She wants him to know he will always be the most important person in her heart. She can care for Angel, too, because the kind of love she has for him is very different. She tells him that he always comes first. She tells him he can be at peace knowing that she will never stop loving him. Danny says if that is true she has to stop seeing Angel because if he sees them together he is going to go back to be with his dad.

20. Mirna is telling Angel and AnaS how Sergio was in mortal danger and that is why she was sending him money. Angel wants to know what kind of danger exactly was that. Doesn't she see that Sergio has been taking her for a fool? Mirna strongly disagrees. He was taken by criminals and that is why she had to help him. Angel wants to know what criminals??? Angel cannot understand how she can be so blind to what is happening. He tells her to call him right now so they can clear this all up. She says that Sergio said that he has a ticket to fly to Mexico City tomorrow. Then he can give explanations to all of them even Rayo. Angel hopes so even though he has his doubts. AnaS and Angel both agree that Sergio is a total fraud.

21. Braulio tells Celeste that AnaS told him that Angel was the one who ordered the audit. After so many years at the company, he cannot believe that Angel doesn't trust him. She asks if Misael still works at Funes. He explains that he doesn't work for the company exactly but is AnaS's chauffeur. Celeste comments that they will never get Misael out of there lives the way things are going. That is why he wants to move out of the complex and get away from all of the nitwits that live there. There will be lovely friendships in the community they are going to that will be more at her level.

22. AnaS has left Misael a whole bunch of messages and he has not responded. She wants to see him at that the restaurant where they usually meet tomorrow so he can let her know what is going on. She hates to remind him but he owes her a lot of money. She segues into a live presentation on her social networks. She is going to tell them the sad story about Mirna.

23. At the food truck taking advantage that Cinthia isn't around, Ebe asks Jero if he beleives her when she says the drugs in her sister's car weren't hers. Jero says he does and asks why would she lie. Ebe says because she is an addict. Cinthia is back in ear shot as Ebe says if the drugs weren't hers, then who did they belong to??? Jero says that Cinthia seems to be acting fine. Ebe thinks that is because she left her drugs in her sister's car. Cinthia has overheard and is upset.

24. Gina is having a good time showing Chepina all of the terrible things that people have said about Mati on line. To Chepina, it looks like an internet lynching and that isn't good. Julia leaves to make some deliveries. Danny actually says goodbye to his mother in a decent manner. Chepina asks Julia not to be gone too long. She wants to talk to a lady at the complex about some robberies that have been going on.

25. Gina is publishing more posts identifying Mati and her gang of thieves as the most likely perpetrators of thefts in the Rosales neighborhood. Rayo is reading the post . Rayo asks Angel if she can go to the complex for a while. He gets a text at the same time from Julia. She wants to see him.

26. Mati runs into Leonel and the other minion. They are not happy to see her. They do not want to be labeled as her accomplices in theft. She says she didn't do any of that. They do not believe her. She insists she isn't doing anything illegal. She has been out on the streets for a few days because her father won't put up with her at home.They don't want her around them. She says everyone has been making fun of her, taking photos and somebody actually spit at her. The boys leave her talking to herself. She shouts insults at them saying it is better that she be alone.
 

VENCER Part 5

27. Ester comes to Jero's to see Cinthia. Jero says she is asleep and he has to leave to go to Lenar's. She says she will come back another time. She has some questions about Iván that she would like to ask to Cinthia. He asks if she heard about Laura. Ester cannot believe her grandson being with people like that. Jero admits it is terrible but he still believes the best place for a child is with their mother but in this case Danny would be better off with her. Cinthia get sup. She will be going to see her son. Jero has to go to Lenar's

28. Jero joins, Donato, Lenar and the boys for lunch. Donato and Lenar look happy as they all talk about their vacation. Lenar asks Jero to watch over the kids because they will be by themselves this week. They will always be her little kids. Jero tells her no worries and he will also stop by and check on the laundry even though Juancho is in charge. She thanks Jero for being there for them. She can go on her trip knowing that she has his full support.

29. Rayo talks with the minions. She says that Mati his still their friend no matter what she did and that she doesn't deserve to be treated like she is being treated. Leonel tells her that all of the neighbors think that she is the one committing the robberies in the apartment complex. Teo agrees. Rayo tries to have him look at Mati in a more sympathetic way. She is one of them . Her family doesn't support her. Rayo says that she called them all together here to find Mati and talk to her. Rayo thinks she knows where Mati is. None of the others care. They do not want any more problems.

30. Julia meets with Angel at his house. He explains his situation with Homero. They cannot find a nurse and Angel is thinking that he will have to work from home. He asks about Danny and Julia says that is exactly why she came to talk to him.

31. Misael tells AnaS that Julia is happy at Angel's side planning their future. He says that Julia has their son now but that isn't going to last. He is going to find a way to show that Julia is a cheater and that Danny should not be with her. AnaS asks how he plans on doing that. He has no idea but he is capable of anything to have Danny with him and see Julia pay for what she did to him. AnaS asks if he would like a successful woman like herself to help him. He says sure and goes to sit down. Wrong move! She tells him not to sit down. (Guess she doesn't want to be really associated with him. Smart cookie!!) He asks how?? She says she will tell him in a while.

32. Julia has told Angel Danny's demand. She says it is hard but her son asked that of her. So they need to cool it for a while. Angel says he can wait. He can be patient. She asks if he is sure. He laughs and asks if they have a choice. He says while she is taking care of things with Danny, he will have his hands full with his father. Nope, they do not have a choice. They both laugh. She adds then there is the Misael issue and who was driving the truck. Angel hates her to be alone when Dany's custody /visitation is being decided with Misael. She says she has her family. They will only be physically apart but she knows they will hold each other near. Julia goes to leave but they enjoy one long kiss before she does.

33. A woman from the apartment complex who saw Mati in the area is filling Flavia and the other neighbors in on where she saw her and what she looked like. She didn't call the police yet so Flavia is going to call for a patrol car to come out. She wonders where she could be.

34. Rayo tracks Mati down to her space under the bridge. Mati doesn't want to talk to her. They are not friends anymore. Rayo tells her that everyone messes up and that she knows that Mati isn't the toxic girl that everyone is making her out to be. She is a good girl. Mati has a moment of of vulnerability and tells her that she has ended up with nothing. Her family doesn't want her in their home and her gang isn't talking to her anymore and her friendship with Rayo doesn't matter. Mati is looking for somebody who cares about her. Rayo says she already forgave her. Mati smiles. She tells Mati that she cannot continue to live under the bridge.

35. Jero has some final words for Lenar before he leaves. He apologizes one more time for having been gone all of those years. He didn't think things over very well before he went to the USA when they should have looked for a solution to their problems together. Lenar says everything happens for a reason. She is just happy he has reunited with his sons. Whatever happened they still remained a family. She has put all of her effort into to making a life with Donato She shows Jero a framed photo of him with their two sons and adds that although their relationship may be over, he has a place in this house. He thanks her and she asks for a hug. He embraces her.

36. Rayo tries to convince Mati to turn herself in. That is the only way to correct her mistakes. Rayo says she is telling her from her own experience. The minions and Teo show up but when they see Mati they want to leave. Rayo says she brought them all together because Mati has something to tell them. Mati hears the police coming and goes to run. Mati stops her and tells her to do things the right way. Mati apologizes to all the boys for what she did to them. She apologizes to Rayo for being the worst friend in the world. Everyone forgives her. Mati now decides that she has to do things the right way and is going to turn herself in. She is only asking that her friends be there when she gets back. Rayo says they are still the best friends in the world and they hug. They accompany her to where the police arrest her and take her away.

37. AnaS is taking advantage of Mirna and using her to entertain her followers. Mirna doesn't like that she is using her this way and saying things that aren't true. AnaS wants Mirna to tell her followers that she has been so influenced by Sergio that she wuold throw herself off of a balcony if he told her to. Mirna says that isn't true. AnaS says it is and there might be just one of her followers that cuold end up in the same situation as Mirna. Mirna has had enough until AnaS shows her a message from somebody who says they know that Sergio guy and leaves a link to find out who he really is. Mirna would prefer not to find out anything and leaves. AnaS says she is going to send her the link anyway and she will be thanking her very soon.

38. Gina thinks it was thanks to her that they finally arrested Mati. China tells her she cannot take credit because Mati turned herself in all by herself. Chepina doesn't like how she enjoys others' pain. Gina says she did enjoy that a criminal is off the street. Julia has heard enough with Danny so nearby. Danny says whenever they do not want him to hear what they are saying, they send him to brush his teeth.

39. Misael calls accusing Julia of turning his son against him. Julia says she wouldn't do something like that. She isn't like him. Misael talks to Danny and asks him if wants to come back to him. Danny says of course not. He doesn't want to be left locked up and all alone in that room like when it caught on fire. That is news to Julia.

40. Mirna is home listening to a message from AnaS. Her followers recognized Sergio from his photo. They sent her links where "Sergio" is pictured with different names and professions.

41. Cinithia succumbs to temptation and goes back to her drugs. Her addict friends are going to pick her up for good time.

42. Julia tries to find out about Danny being locked in a room tay caught on fire. He says his father's not at fault because he always left him with a cell phone. He didn't call his mother because only his father's number was on that phone. His father had other had her cellphones that he took with him. He says that when his father first came back, he had a new cellphone and said to him not to tell anyone because it was a secret between the two of them. She asks if he might remember other secrets his father told him to keep.

43. Jero keep trying to call Cinthia who is MIA but she isn't answering. He has a bad feeling. Suddenly, Jero gets a call from a number he doesn't know. It is a call from the Rosario Hospital. There was an accident. He presumes is involves Cinthia. No, it involves Lenar. The nurse says she is afraid that she has some bad news for him.

Jarifa, your recap was sensational. Insightfully crafted, totally engrossing, wise and witty, this elevated an exciting episode to an even higher level. The writers are putting the pedal to the metal, accelerating rather than slowing.

My favorite comments were on our not so favorite Mirna. “(Ooooo! Is she starting to think? Is there a flicker of life behind those eyes?)” had me smiling away. “She looks around bovinely” was new to me in the context that you used and I was delighted. It could not have been more perfect especially combined with “She looks stricken and sort of moans. (or is it moos??)”. Excellent!

“Apparent fatality” seems to explain our fears that the oft repeated organ donor comments would be sadly relevant.

Would Cinthia have regressed had not Ester planted the evidence that turned her sister against her and ruined her chance at custody? We will never know. I want to see if Ester will be caught or will confess. Will she be contrite or defensive? What will Jero’s reaction be? And finally, what effect will all of this have on the custody determination.

Rayo has such a good heart; Mati doesn’t deserve her friendship.

Julia needs to stop letting her son dictate how she lives her life. Basta!

A dark episode tomorrow seems imminent.

I found it hard to feel sorry for Mati. Rayo might see her as a friend because Mati 'helped' her at the time when Rayo was desperate. But Mati used her. And Rayo wants Teo to see Mati in a more positive light? How?She is either a saint or just doesn't understand because I'm not so sure just how good of a person Mati is.
So the Lenar plot ends this way? It's very odd. In one episode she is sort of resigned but unhappy, now it's all fine and...She was such an odd character. It's a bit strange Gero ended up apologising for 'not thinkingthings through'. But didn't they make a joined decision he should go abroad? This puts all the blame on him.
I don't like Mirna but Ana S is an ass. And she wanted Mirna to talk about this on her channel? The girl is really from another universe. It's interesting that both she and Mirna lack a sense of compassion or genuine care for others. Ana S was pretty awful after her father died and I remember thinking that surely she'd at least not publicise something that personal.
Poor Sin. She lost the only family member who was on her side and she needed Laura because Gero can't adopt the child and I have a feeling that at one point he'd have ended up on Ester's side somehow.

Diana, thanks. “The writers are putting the pedal to the metal, accelerating rather than slowing.” You can sure say that again. ; ) They sure are closing down storylines rather efficiently. I was disappointed that after rehab Cinthia wasn’t going to a step program of some sort that would have provided the support she needed when she felt she had lost her son through no fault of her own. Her relapse was understandable under that kind of stress. The writers didn’t give her a chance. So, now with it looking like Lenar is gone, is Jero going to move in with Donato and the boys? Somebody has to run the laundry. I am so glad you enjoyed my “cowish” comparisons when it comes to Mirna. The noises she makes are rather indescribable.

waterlily, Rayo asking for everyone to forgive Mati seemed very far-fetched to me even after considering that she is only 15, is coming out of her own trauma snd still living in a pressure cooker of sorts with a witchy Mirna and a fading father. At least we won’t have to see sour-faced Mati any more.

Thanks, Jarifa, great notes that tell all that’s going on. I really assumed it would be Cinthia at the hospital. I wonder why they decided Lenar should die. She didn’t really have a main character part. But they’re bringing in the organ donor theme. I feel bad for the boys.

I’m hoping Cinthia decides not to go party and do drugs. I don’t think she took any yet.

Mati never treated any of the kids nicely. I’m not sure why Rayo considers her a best friend. Has she forgotten she got shot! And Teo was humiliated. I’m not sure we can believe anything she says either. I guess she’ll do a complete turn around while locked up.

I’m glad the Mirna thing is over so we can concentrate on the plots we really care about. Unless they actually plan to bring Sergio to justice. But I think it will end like Chepina’s, they’re just out the money! But it was so great when Mirna accused Rayo and realized she gave herself away!

I have to laugh at Braulio. He feels he’s so above the people where they live but he’s basically in a partnership with Misael. So he’s one of the lowest in the neighborhood.

I wonder what AnaSofia’s next plan to break apart Angel and Julia will be!

Yikes...the writers had no ideas left as to what to do with the poorly written character of Lenar, so....they finally decided to kill her off.Harsh . Wow..just ..wow.

Having grown up on a farm with friends who lived on dairy farms , I was especially delighted with your bovine references to insipid , slow moooov-ing Mirna.....Moooo-na? Perhaps we could assign barnyard personages to the other characters. Braulio is surely perfect as the strutting rooster, and Miserable is the Bull..full of bull. There are a lot of sheep in this tale.....following along . My dad had a flock of guinea hens that someone gave him ...the dumbest birds on earth with their peasized brains in their tiny heads as they run willynilly from one area to another in a tight little, clueless group. ...Anacandy and her peeps ? Jer and Angel are the faithful, brave watch dogs trying to take of the flock .

Super job, Jarifa. Your "bovine" descriptions of Mirna had me lol. This is the first time I've seen this actress and those wordless sounds she makes are something else.

Mati needs to go to jail and all the friends forgiving her was too perfect, but I do like some things about Mati, like her dissing Flavia and those mean girls that bullied Rayo. Granted Mati always looked out for her own selfish gain at the risk of her friends. She did put an end to the home invasion by clunking the gang guy in the back of the head. Here's hoping Mati comes out of jail (reform school?) reformed.

I've always felt not everyone needs to be paired up. Poor Lenar isn't cold in her grave, she's not even IN it, but my mind is already racing. I know there isn't time but my ideal ending would be to have Donato with Celeste. Braulio won't make it to the end (fingers crossed) and we already know Donato makes a great father.

Susanlynn, so happy you enjoyed my "bovine "reference. With those big brown eyes and the weird moaning that is all I could think of. The actress is Adriana Llabrés. I thought I had not seen her before but she was in "La casa de las flores"which I saw on Netflix. I may have to give that another look to see who she was. From what I could find out, she has done a lot of theater, movie and tv work but not telenovela work. Anyway, I so appreciated you rounding out the barnyard assignments with these characters. Thanks for the laughs. Angel has always reminded my of of a big friendly golden retriever.

Niecie, I, also, hope that Mati comes back new and improved after a stint at the juvenile facility and maybe cam go back and actually live with her family. It seems like they must have given up on her a long time ago.

Should be some high drama tonight!!!

Jarifa, Niecie, and Diana, I am so glad if I gave you all a few giggles .Jarifa just set me off , and I couldn't help myself.

Well, where are the writers taking this story now that Lenar seems to be in peril ? They really did not develop this particular character well. I felt that she was less fleshed out than Donato . Is Jer going to finally stop bouncing from one apartment to another and settle back into the family abode ? If so, he certainly traveled a great big circle of doom and gloom as he wove in and out of these characters' lives and their various and assorted woes .

The intros usually reveal which characters will finally end up together , but how can Superhero Jer end up with stubborn, arrogant , cranky Esther ?

Angel is an angel , but he is gullible and clueless. I am glad that he will have Rayo , and I am sure that Julia and Angel will get a HEA with a reprogrammed Danny returning to his sweet self as soon as Miserable Macho is gone . Who gets those shirts ?

Notes from the couch


JULIA + ANGEL + MISAEL + ANA S

-Julia has a heart to heart with Danny and he confesses that his father told him to go hide on her when they were in Matehuala so they could stay overnight. Danny couldn't stand seeing his mother crying and that the police were going to be called. That is why he came out of hiding. His father then said not to say anything about it the because it was a a secret between the two of them. She asks if there is another secret he has with his father. Danny says yes but he cannot tell her because it has to do with being a man. He says that means that men do not cry but women do to get what they want. That's why when men see women crying, like her, they are supposed to ignore them so they learn their lesson that men are in charge, not them. Julia explains that a child does not have to believe such mistaken ideas even if they come from his own father. Julia explains what "machismo" is to her son. It is when people make you believe that women are worth less than men and do not have the same rights. She asks if he thinks that she, his aunt Chepina and Gina are not as important as his grandfather, his father or him just because they are women. Danny says no. She is glad that he gets that. A "machista" could treat women as things or objects and would not be concerned with what they felt or thought. A "machista" could end up not paying attention to women or insulting them which could end up hurting them. She asks if he knew that. He says no. She asks if he is a "machista?" he says he isn't. She is glad because that would show a lack of respect for women. Danny says he doesn't want to be a "machista." They hug. Danny then has another secret that he hasn't told her. His father has a lot of money stashed away.

-Julia tells Chepina that it looks like Misael finally achieved his pipe dream of having a lot of money. Chepina has a hard time believing that but asks if he had all of that money, then why did he ever bother to come back? Julia has no idea. She is also going to fight for Danny's custody because her son does not deserve a father like Misael.

-AnaS comes to pay Julia a visit. She records their exchange on her phone for her social media without Julia knowing. She is there to tell Julia that she shouldn't be trying to steal Misael's son away from him. He needs a paternal figure. Julia says that Misael is a vile thief. AnaS goes on about how Danny could be injured psychologically if he is not with his father at this difficult time. Julia says she is not a mother so she can stop right there but AnaS doesn't. She explains that she isn't a mother because she stole her Angel away from her. Julia informs her that she will never fight over a man. AnaS says maybe not but she is one of those women who would get herself pregnant to trap a man into marriage. AnaS says that Julia should go back to Misael and leave her Angel for her. AnaS thinks someday she will thank her. Julia informs her that she and Angel are only friends. Julia directs her to the door and tells her to leave. AnaS is happy with what she recorded.

-Julia messages Angel about AnaS's visit and how she got the feeling that she was aware that Misael had stolen the loan money so his suspicions are justified.

-Angel calls Julia and tells her she had no right to say what she did to Julia. AnaS says she did have that right because Julia stole her novio. Angel says Julia didn't steal anyone because he never was hers. AnaS thinks he is so innocent when it comes to women like Julia. She knows that type very well. He tells her she is the most "machista" woman she knows. He makes it clear that they are nothing more than business partners and he hopes to put that relationship behind him, too, very soon. She tells him to be aware of the consequences.

-AnaS posts her video attacking Julia and representing Misael and herself as her victims, of course. Angel sees it and cannot believe it. Angel calls her and complains. They will never be together again. What is more is that she never had a case to get involved with the Funes company because he never refused to pay her. He wants to know why she is obsessed as her father was with his company. AnaS explains it never had anything to do with the company. It had to do with the property itself. Her father had wanted to build a shopping center. She likes that idea and she is gonig to do everything she can to fulfill her father's dream.

-Misael arrive with his lawyer to insure he gets to visit his son. He tells Julia that he will be getting custody of his son because of his very influential lawyer. All Julia wants to know is how he is paying his "influential" lawyer. Is he paying him with the money he stole before the truck crashed??


JERO + LENAR + DONATO

-Jero and his sons arrive at the hospital. They are given bad news. Donato is in very serious condition. Lenar is brain dead and is only being kept alive by a respirator. The doctor explains that Donato and Lenar had a car accident. She had a cranial fracture that caused her brain death. Jero and his sons have an emotional visit at Lenar's bedside. Adair is angry with Donato and blames him for the accident presuming that he was driving. Jero tells him it was an accident. A doctor comes in to remind them that Lenar had an organ donation card. He makes it clear that her heart is beating but she will never wake up. They need to choose when they want to say goodbye to her. Her doctor will talk to them later. Jero has a hard time accepting that she is still allve and they are talking about harvesting her organs. Ebe says it was his mother's last wish and they have to respect that. Ebe informs him that is what SHE wanted. Lenar's doctor says they need to decide whether to unplug Lenar or not. He knows it is hard but she is never going to get better. Ebe think that Donato needs to know what happened to Lenar and have a say in the matter. Adair is still angry with Donato. That anger will turn out to be misplaced, when Donato tells them that Lenar was the one who was driving. Jero wants to wait until tomorrow to decide what to do about Lenar. The next day, Jero, the boys and Donato all reminisce about Lenar. They decide that the time has come to unplug Lenar and let others benefit from what she can give them.

CINTHIA

-Ester and Jero both keep trying to contact Cinthia but she is not responding. That evening Ester goes to Jero's and finds Cinthia high and agitated on drugs. She even tries to steal Ester's purse to get some money so she can buy some more. Ester will not let her leave. Cinthia thinks that Ester must really be enjoying seeing her like this. Didn't she always think she was just an addict that had no right to her own child? Nobody could stop reminding her of what she was. Well here the addict is! Cinthia runs out of the apartment. Ester runs after Cinthia and Julia and Chepina help her catch her. They take her to a doctor the complex who is able to give Cinthia an antidote to bring her down. Ester brings her home and tells her she has to be strong so her son can have a healthy mother and she enjoy her child (really??) Cinthia asks Ester not to bring her son to see her She doesn't want him to see her like she is. Ester tells Jero what happened and how she will take care of Cinthia so he doesn't have to worry. The next morning, Cinthia is depressed thinking about everything she has lost due to her drug use. Her only support left was her sister Laura and now she has even lost her because she thought she left drugs in her car when she didn't. Cinthia now thinks she has lost her son forever. Ester looks guilty (as she should).

-Later, Cinthia discovers that Ester has left and Flavia has come over to take care of her. The conversation turns to then police finding drugs in her sister's car. Cinthia explains that the day her sister came over to pick her up, they also gave Ester a lift. That is all that Flavia needs to hear. She finds it quite the strange coincidence that Ester was in the car and drugs suddenly appeared.

-Ester has taken Denis to the park where Teo meets his nephew for the first time. Teo says it feels great to be an uncle. Teo adds that he would have like to have known his brother Iván a lot better than he did but his father told him that his mother never wanted them to get too chummy. Evidently all that has changed because he is going to be the best uncle in the world.

-Max tells Ester that Laura can no longer continue in the process to get custody of Denis because of the drugs. Ester thinks back to being in Laura's car, taking the drugs out of her purse, and gently kicking the packet under the driver's seat.


ANGEL + BRAULIO

-Braulio tells Angel that he doesn't have to come into the office. He can handle everything knowing how things are not going well with his father. He only needs him to sign on the new partner. Much to Braulio's disappointment, Angel tells him that he will not be signing on the new partner until after the audit is completed. Braulio complains so much about his decision that Angel finally asks him where is the urgency coming from. Why is he being so persistent? Braulio he is just trying to help him out seeing how pressured he is. Nothing he says will change Angel's mind. Braulio wonders what they should do with AnaS. Maybe the new partner could buy her shares. Angel says they will talk about it on Monday when the audit is complete. Homero comes down and has something he wants to tell both them. Until now he has been the owner and legal representative of the Funes company. He wants to to turn that power over to Angel by way of a power of attorney so Angel can make all of the decisions. Braulio was unaware that Homero still could legally sign things. Homero admits he isn't up to it anymore so that is why he is turning it over to his son. Homero asks Braulio to help them with the paperwork.

-Braulio tells Celeste hat they are going to have to push up the date of their move to the new house . She asks why. He asks her to trust him. He has his reasons.

RAYO + MIRNA + HOMERO

-Even with what she saw on the internet, Mirna tells AnaS that she refuses to believe what she saw about Sergio. She is sure that he will be back tomorrow and everything will be cleared up. Rayo hears Mirna upset and asks if she wants to talk about anything. Mirna calls her a busybody and tells her to leave her alone.

-Rayo helps Homero by making a list of his favorite things just in case he forgets.

-Mirna goes to the airport to pick up Sergio, She reappears hours later. There was no Sergio flying in to see her. There was nobody. She tells so much to Rayo. Rayo tries to help her by telling her what her mother used to say about love. Mirna doesn't want to hear anything from her. Rayo asks why does she hate her so much. Mirna explains that Rayo represents the pain that her mother suffered. Rayo is the reminder of all the hurt her father caused them. She doesn't get how Angel can have any consideration for Rayo when he was so against his father's infidelity. Rayo's mother wasn't her father's only lover. Rayo apologizes but it isn't her fault for what happened. Mirna says Rayo is no victim, she is only a bastard. She may have Funes blood but she doesn't belong to their family.

-Rayo has had it. Homero is asleep as she tells him that she is not being ungrateful because the time she has spent there has been one of the loveliest she has had in a long time. Now, she has reaiized that she does not belong to this place. Mirna is right. She doesn't want to make them uncomfortable. She kisses him on his head and leaves with her backpack. Homero hears the door close and wakes up. He calls out for Rayo and when she doesn't answer, he goes looking for her. When he doesn't see her in the house, he goes out to the street calling her name. He sees her but she is pretty far ahead of him and moving fast. He turns a corner and loses her and then loses himself as he has one of his episodes out on the street.

Camino #59 Part 1

Sebastian and Lupita are kissing ON the bed when suddenly, Sebastian sits up, pulling Lupita into an upright position. He gently murmurs “not this way”. He doesn’t want her first time to be like this…she is confused and sad about her parents. When the day comes that they are truly together, it should be because she wants it, not because she is emotional. She halfheartedly protests but seeing the tears gently cascade down her cheeks, no further words are necessary. He smiles and says let’s go, it is time to celebrate the champion. Mi nina he murmurs putting his thumb on her chin. Te quiero she smiles.

Chuchita confides to Amparo that she is nervous as she hasn’t heard from Leo. Amparo calms her fears saying that Humberto went out with Leo and they have a surprise for them.

Sebastian infuses some energy back into the party as he and Lupita rejoin the group. Gaby and JuanPa get up to dance as Ursula chides Memo for his long face. He admits he doesn’t feel like doing anything, and especially being at a celebration! She suggests they stay only a bit longer but Memo tells Ursula he wants to be alone. Eugenio comes in to talk with Amparo and when she asks how Karen is, he shrugs and says she is OK, more or less. Sebastian interrupts, grabbing Amparo for a spin around the room.

Yoyo and Macario dance until an annoyed Grace pulls them apart. You are my mother Grace scolds, why are you doing this? If the girls find out she is her mother, they will hate her. Yolanda reminds Grace that she wanted to make life miserable for the girls. Grace agrees but if they run her off she won’t be able to find out anything. Grace tells her that if they do find out, Yolanda had better say that Grace didn’t know she was going out with Macario! It certainly won’t help Macario’s “cause” if it’s revealed she is his daughter. Yolando thinks it over a bit and finally agrees it could be bad for the divorce.

Leo (accompanied by Humberto) is thrilled to be at the recording studio. They are there to meet with Max Navarro, the producer. “Wow” Leo effuses as he stares at all the gold records of Monica Romano, who is coincidentally, also there in the flesh. Even Humberto’s eyes are as wide as saucers. Monica is recording as Leo stares through the small window.as they enter the studio. She finishes and smiles at Leo. Max welcomes Teo and asks who is with him; Leo introduces his father. Max wants to speak with Leo alone but Humberto is calling the shots so no dice.

Outside in the fresh air that is bringing no solace, Memo agonizes recalling the swim meet and his disastrous discussion with Isabela. He punches the air in frustration.

Camino #59 Part 2

Max is surprised that Leo’s songs went viral so quickly. Leo assures Max he wrote the songs himself. Congratulations Max says your son is very talented. Max wants to manage Leo and thinks he can help him make quite a mark just as he did with Monica. He wants to listen to more of his music, define his style and find the perfect image for him, including an artistic name. This does not sit well with Humberto who declares his son is Leo Santos! This is an important decision Humberto declares, once they come up with something, they will need to discuss it with the family. Leo sort of smiles.

Eugenio tells Amparo that Karen is still traveling through Europe but she didn’t sound very enthusiastic. She asked him to join her in Paris, but he doesn’t want to leave Amparo right now. He invites Amparo to accompany him but she ruefully regrets she cannot. The timing is bad; she is worried about her children especially as she is initiating divorce proceedings. Eugenio nods his understanding. Amparo tells him the school director suggested that they apply for a scholarship for Chema since he has such good grades; he could go to a school that includes classes in English. Eugenio thinks it’s a great idea. Amparo tells him to go, enjoy himself and not worry about her; she will be there waiting for him. Amparo and Eugenio are just sharing a kiss when Gabi interrupts because Leo is there and has big news. Drat.

Memo shows up at Daniela’s unexpectedly. Fausto moves forward threateningly asking what he is doing there. Memo wants to speak to Isa and will not leave until they do. Isa descends the stairs and says she will talk to him.

Back at the celebration, Leo announces that Max wants to make him a famous singer. Humberto reminds him that they will discuss it as a family. Chuchita is delighted and strokes his cheek, kisses ensuing. She thinks that they have much to talk about and she asks Leo to promise that he will not change. Leo promises and assures that, in a year, Chuchita will marry Mexico’s most famous singer.

Fausto tells Dani to take Isa to her bedroom, but Memo insists that he will not leave until he talks to his daughter. My love Daniela asks concernedly, are you sure you want to talk with him? Isa assures Dani that she will be all right and will talk to Memo - but only if he promises that he will never bother them again!

Ursula can’t reach Memo and Macario arrives to taunt her. He mocks her for her desperation in not being able to reach her husband. Ursula lies she just wants to ensure Memo is all right but Macario spits out he thinks she is dying of jealousy. He would like his woman to be just as jealous (as if viewerville mutters). Ursula spills the bitter truth – Amparo couldn’t care less! Amparo is seeing that uptight guy then he wants her and the family to see him with Yolanda. Ursula knows that he just wants the land. Mac tells her that it will cost his brujer A LOT to divorce him.

Camino #59 Part 3

Memo softly tells Isa that she need not be afraid of him. Isa tells him that he is no longer her friend! He assures her that he won’t hurt her but she yells that she doesn’t believe him! He wants to take her from her parents! He tells her that they wanted to take her far away from him so he would never see her again. She yells because you are bad! And you are a liar! Mentiroso she yells at him. Memo recoils as if crushed.

Fausto steps forward and Daniela looks extremely concerned as Memo kneels before his beloved daughter, her expression showing her vulnerability despite her words. Memo admits to Isa that when he first arrived there, he didn’t say the truth, but he is not a bad man. He is a man who was not prepared to be the father of such a beautiful and marvelous little girl like her. He also has to learn a new path because when one gets on a trailer, they never know what will happen. Sometimes there is bright sunshine and other times there are storms and the rain is coming down so hard that it doesn’t allow the person to see where they are driving. But without caring about what obstacles there are, his destiny is very clear and his destiny is her love and her forgiveness.

Fausto asks if Memo is done. Memo has one more thing…he came to tell Isa that tomorrow he will talk to his lawyer and ask him not to do anything. He gives his word. He knows how much Isa loves her parents and will not separate her from them. He loves her…and he who loves doesn’t cause pain. He made bad mistakes and hopes Isa forgives him. He promises that he will not do anything to make Isa be with him by force…not until she wants to be by his side. He doesn’t want her to suffer and especially because of him. His only wish is that she be very happy. He is leaving and he will not seek her until she wants to see him. He doesn’t want her to ever forget that he loves her with all his heart 😢. He backs up and leaves as Isa’s face reveals her turmoil. Daniela kneels and hugs her daughter wordlessly. Fausto strokes his head with his hand in frustration.

Leo gives us a musical interlude as a distraught Memo returns to the restaurant and Ursula hugs him.

Rgv Chick kindly supplied the cut scene below which did not air tonight. It is being included as we feel it is important, showing how Macario is manipulating Chema.

Chema asks Macario if that woman is his novia! Mac says no; she is just a friend. Chema tells him he was with her all the time! Max reminds him that when Isa comes he is always with her. Chema points out that Isa is his cousin. Mac tells him that Yolanda is like his cousin…a good friend that he can talk to and share all the bad things that Chema’s mother does to him. (Is anyone reading this who isn’t experiencing bile rising in their throat??) Chema doesn’t want them to divorce. Mac doesn’t want that either but it is very difficult since the uptight, rich guy isn’t just his mother’s friend; and it is his fault that he and his mother haven’t been able to make amends. Chema says he likes Eugenio who makes his mother laugh. Mac tells Monoman that he has a mission…to watch that man. Chema is now the man of the house and has to take care of his mother because if that man continues to come around, his mother will be in danger. Speechless. Simply speechless.

Camino #59 Part 4

After Memo returns to the restaurant, there is a montage of events that spans 5 months.

Dani tells Chuchita to make sure Isa is ready for school. Dani tells Fausto that the psychologist wants to meet with the two of them…and Memo. We see Dani and the psychologist while Isabela plays sadly and silently in the background. We then see Dani and Fausto meeting with her.

We have a gender reveal celebration – the cake is blue – it’s a boy! Joyous cries of “Santos” follow. The nursery is being decorated.

Chuchita appears to be taking a class in fashion designing.

At a Santos breakfast, Chema is in a white blazer piped around the lapels in black and looks handsome with his dark tie. Amparo is proud of Chema for getting the scholarship. Chema is happy because he will go to the same school as Isa.

Amparo asks a rather nervous looking Gaby how things are going with her studies. Gaby says good but when Amparo suggests she could get a scholarship too, Gaby says no, she isn’t as smart as Lupita. Amparo tells her that she thought she would throw in the towel but she has been going hard for 5 months. Humberto comments that Gaby found what she wanted to do and that’s all she needed to meet her goals. Viewerville is not at all confident that is the case.

Teo is singing with Monica.

Memo watches from the hedges as the girls play. Danila sees him and he ducks.

Dani, (inexplicably wearing a cobalt blue blazer with mismatched green pants) tells Fausto Isabela needs to see Memo. Fausto is livid and says no way! She is just looking for an excuse to see that trailero! Dani tells him no, this is for the good of their daughter. They can’t pretend that Memo doesn’t exist; whether they like it or not, he is Isa’s biological father. Fausto calls the psychologist a quack! He says that Isa has been going to therapy for 5 months, and she hasn’t gotten over it?? Dani argues that it’s a process; Isa is very sensitive and it isn’t easy for her. Fausto insists that the trailero will not be part of their lives! Dani tells him that Isa misses Memo. Fausto questions if it’s not her that misses Memo. Dani assures that Isa misses him because he is her father! This has nothing to do with her; if it were up to her, they would never see Memo again! But Isa already knows that Memo is her father and being away from him is affecting her. Fausto tells her that Isa needs to get used to it…the best thing for the family is to pretend that the trailero is dead! Yeah, that’ll work the patio scoffs, eyebrows raised to the roof.

Camino #59 Part 5

Fausto calls for Isa. Dani continues to argue and asks how long his egotism will be his priority! This isn’t about him; it’s about their daughter! It is the psychologist who wants them to talk to Memo, but Fausto is not willing to sit and talk with the guy who dedicated himself to woo her and threatened to take their daughter! Dani points out that Memo repented and has kept his word—up to now he has done nothing. Fausto argues that can change at any moment. He thinks that bringing back the trailero into their lives is a big mistake! Isa comes in and asks if they were fighting. Dani replies not at all…and wishes her well on her first day of school.

Ursula comes in and is finally showing a (fake) baby bump. Ursula thinks the baby recognizes Memo’s voice. Memo excitedly feels the baby kick and tells him that he will be in his arms soon. Ursula thanks him for the last few months; it felt like when they first met and he always wanted to be with her. Memo thanks her for loving him and being patient. She asks if he is happy being with her. Memo replies that he can’t be truly happy as long as he isn’t with Isa…he can’t do anything but wait until Isa wants to be with him.

After Memo leaves, she looks at the beautiful wicker crib, adorned with gaily colored knitted pom poms, a sweet mobile hanging from the top. She talks to her unborn child, praising and thanking him for her dream finally coming true. His father loves him very much. Suddenly, Cesar’s apparition appears swearing that of course he loves him. Ursula screams for him to leave but he defiantly tells her he won’t until she fulfills the rest of their deal. She put a price on her happiness and he will have the baby! She screams thrashing into the air.

Macario makes a covert call to whomever is going to buy the baby as he lurks around the apartment. He reports the pregnancy is going well and the birth is imminent. He tells the man to have his money ready…it will be easy to take the baby since his niece is crazy. He doesn’t care what happens to the baby as long as he gets paid. And with those words we must surmise Macario’s fate is now sealed.

Sebastian presents Lupita with chocolates to celebrate their anniversary. He wants to mark the occasion at his house tonight with a huge party. He wants to invite his friends since they have complained that they haven’t seen him. They will have a mega party.

JuanPa asks Gaby why she is there so early. Gaby nervously admits her family was asking too many questions. JP advises her that she can’t continue lying. Gaby doesn’t know how to tell them…and she doesn’t want to disappoint her mother. She has worked hard and isn’t doing badly but this is not for her. JP is proud of her for at least trying and insists that she needs to tell the truth.

Camino #59 Part 6

Fausto takes Isa to school and runs into Chema and Memo. The screen shows a picture of each of the four, the grown mem glowering.

Humberto flexes his boss muscles telling Leo he needs to make a delivery. Leo tries to opt out as Max is making edits to his first single. Humberto tells him Memo can’t continue making his deliveries and orders him to get on the trailer. Leo tells him that he has gotten on the trailer to success and will fight for his dreams. Humberto insists that he get on the trailer…Leo gives up his trailer!

Chema and Isa run together, happy to see each other. When Chema asks Isa if she isn’t going to greet her father, Isa tells him that Fausto is her father! Memo swallows his hurt asking Isa to look out for Chema. Isa of course agrees! Fausto’s contorted, angry face looks as though he is enduring a terrible stench (catching a whiff of himself I dare add).

Humberto tells Leo that he will not hold him back but if he fails his family will be there to pick him up. Leo cries that it hurts him that he already assumes that he will fail. Humberto reminds him that he will need money to maintain a home when he marries Chuchita. Leo asserts that one day he will be at his concert where his fans will cheer for him and that day Humberto will know that his dream was worth fighting for.

Chuchita is circling February 14th on her calendar with a red heart when Dani comes in. Dani has a headache and asks Chuchita for a pain reliever. Chuchita asks what is wrong so she tells her that Fausto doesn’t want to attend the psychologist appointment with Memo. When Chuchita asks if she has told Memo, Daniela admits she hasn’t. Chuchita is concerned and asks why Dani is so against Memo. Memo doesn’t deserve to be treated like this…and Isa needs her father.

Fausto thinks Memo enrolled his nephew in this school so Memo could be close to Isa. Memo doesn’t need to and won’t explain anything to Fausto. Fausto asks how they will pay for the tuition. Pointedly ignoring the question, Memo tells him that life isn’t about money. Fausto doesn’t think Monoman will last very long there…since he will be like a bean among rice. Memo tells him Chema is not alone; his daughter is with him…even though his daughter doesn’t want to be with him, she understands something that Fausto never will…they are family!

Camino #59 Part 7 (Last)

Ahhh, the divorce negotiations have begun in earnest. Macario and Amparo sit on opposite sides of the bargaining table, respective lawyers by their side. To no one’s surprise, Macario’s lawyer demands 50% of the property. Amparo scoffs at the ridiculousness of that argument; that land has been in her family long before she married Macario! Macario tells her that if she wants a divorce she should sign. Amparo adamantly refuses; she will not agree to those terms. She reminds him she is the mother of HIS three children. But she might as well have talked to the hand as he pays not a whit of attention. Macario scornfully notes that perhaps she doesn’t want to let him go since the uptight rich guy will probably return with some elegant dame. Amparo tells him he will NEVER get any of her land!

Memo is very sad Chema tells Isa. She doesn’t want to talk about it. She introduces him to Sofi. She asks what is up with his hair. He tells her his mother combs his hair with lemon! An instant friendship is born as they fist bump and dance like the kids they are.

Chuchita softly yet gently tells Dani that Memo is a good person and she is being unfair. Dani tells her that she would change her mind if she knew everything that happened with Isa’s mother. Chuchita asks what Memo said. Dani tells her she won’t talk to Memo about it. Chuchita thinks she should let Memo explain…everyone has a right to defend themselves…she knows that Memo is suffering…and she has seen how sad Isa is. Chuchita thinks that Dani and Memo should talk… for Isa’s good.

We see a woman’s hands with fiery red fingernails wearing fingerless gloves. The wanted ads are on the table and an ad catches her attention. It is one placed by Humberto, looking for tractor trailer drivers…It appears interest has been aroused…

As always, the highest praise and utmost gratitude to Rgv Chick for her wonderful rendition of the dialog and pivotal events. Tonight, especially for the cut scene where Macario manipulates his youngest, most vulnerable child for his own selfish gain.

Pure speculation but as Macario has (again) moved to take Ursula's child from her, I doubt he will make it to the end of this. I hope most of his mideeds are buried with him so as not to traumatize the children for the rest of their lives.

C'mon writers. We need a Memo/Daniela breakthrough. When???

I really felt sorry for Donato. Ready to start fresh with Lenar and then this. They all did a good job with their grief.

So Braulio is in a hurry to move out. But he’ll still be in the business, maybe, so he can’t just disappear. Celeste needs to think about what’s going on. And does he know AnaSofia’s plans for a shopping center. I wonder if he’s in on those plans.

Mirna is getting what she deserves but the way she talks to Rayo is just cruel. She needs to end up broke and homeless.
And now Homero is roaming around. If anything bad happens to him Rayo will be the one to feel guilty, not Mirna.

So Flavia put two and two together and put the blame where it belongs, on Ester. And I really felt Ester was being remorseful and was going to help Cinthia. If Jero can forgive this he’s a saint.

I hope AnaSofia’s recording backfires on her and she loses a bunch of followers. I don’t know how Angel put up with her for so long.

Jarifa, your recap was marvelous as always. Day after day, week after week, you consistently set the bar higher.

“Cinthia now thinks she has lost her son forever. Ester looks guilty (as she should)”. We knew Ester has a “chilly” (so NOT chill) personality but continuing to be silent after what just occurred with Cinthia was truly shocking. While Ester didn’t put the pills in Cinthia’s mouth she did everything to put them in her hands. Confessing and asking for forgiveness then and there would have been something at least, but one guilty look does not repentance make. Liz, I agree Jero is a “saint” if he forgives her. Let his canonization begin. Ack.

You could see Jero’s pain at Lenar’s beside. Her sons were of course inconsolable. Poor Donato!

Thank you for relating the eye opening "machista" conversation. Misael is beyond repulsive. I loved it when Angel told Ana “she is the most "machista" woman he knows”. Ana is many things but stupid hadn’t appeared to be one of them. Perhaps she should channel her obsessive and unsuccessful efforts in trying to win Angel back into trying to find herself another man.

I was hoping Rayo wouldn’t leave seeing how much Homero needs her and how much Jero cares about her. But, I don’t blame her a bit. And now poor Homero will be likely wandering the streets.

“Homero asks Braulio to help them with the paperwork”. Let’s hope Angel fights that decision.

I was really proud of Sebastian. He was a true gentleman.

I’m glad Gaby hasn’t flunked out, which is what I first thought. I hope she discovers her true calling.

I wonder if Ursula really wants to be a mother or it’s a way to hang on to Memo. I love when Cesar shows up!

Maybe Chuchita will be the one to open Dani’s eyes!

I was hoping with a five month time jump something would have changed but it doesn’t look like much has grown except Ursa’s belly. Good for Chema though getting his scholarship!

I too thought Gaby might to failing which didn’t make much sense to me because when it showed her getting a paper or test back in class it showed her score as 85 so I was thinking maybe just the scoring system was different in Mexico. This makes more sense.

Mac definitely hit a new low and I didn’t like the way that female singer was looking at Leo….

I would like to say more but I have a super busy day trying to get everything tied up in my old job position since I start the new job on Monday! Hope the patio is having a wonderful day! I got surprised with snow this morning! Weather report said less than 1/2 an inch and done snowing by 5. But it was definitely more than that and still coming down as I left for work!

I completely missed Gaby getting the graded paper so thank you. She doesn't seem appear to be too interested in the restaurant overall. I am wondering what WILL light Gaby's fire. That said, there are some who never really find their true calling. They do a variety of things and while happy and fulfilled in different endeavors, never find their true passion. I speak from experience. No regrets, just the way it worked out.

Also, yes, the singer looked like the canary waiting for a snack! Leo did seem to look luscious. Uh oh... :)

I couldn't agree more about Gabe. He's been outstanding here and all too believable in the agony and angst he has struggled with. And Camille/Isabela is a gem. Her scenes with him and with Dani/Susana have been touching in their joy and in their grief. Chema and Isa are are the best child actors I've ever seen.

Hoping there is some breakthrough soon. We, Daniela and Memo need it. Desperately!

Fausto's latest evil could emotionally scar Isabella for life if that shrink doesn't figure it out toute suite. This kind of emotional damage does not repair easily if at all. Of course, Isabella isn't even a human being to him, only a pawn he is using in his chess game where inheritance law is the opponent. How is he planning to steal her inheritance?

Obviously Fausto is delaying the inevitability of the psychologist detecting the truth. She caught the feelings of Daniela and Memo when they were together in her office; she's no dummy. Considering that Fausto can barely tolerate being in any public space with Memo he can't possibly hide his hostility in an enclosed office.

Does anyone else think that Humberto might be subconsciously trying to sabotage Leo's possible stardom? Trying to run it would be a huge mistake and did anyone else notice Max rolling his eyes?

Grace was an idiot telling JuanPa that she is Yolanda's daughter. He can notice her interactions with Macario, compare notes with Gaby, and do the math. Also, where does Grace get the idea that her hair looks good? I can't imagine any guy of the right age finding that attractive.

Finally, I find it outrageous that Macario has any chance at stealing Amparo's property by holding it hostage against the divorce. Does she not know about his gambling addiction? Does anyone in that family know? That is reason enough for this blatant attempt at stealing her property. His name isn't even on anything about it.

I am unsure how Fausto plans to steal Isa's inheritance. He has no hesitation to kill Daniela, but would that extend to Isabela? We know that won't happen but I can't think of any way he can circumvent getting his hands on her money.

Interesting question about Humberto. Actually, I thought it was rather strange that he tagged along with his grown a**ed son, acting like the overly protective and interferring father he is. I would never see him doing that with Amparo. It shows how little faith and trust he has in his son. That said, I don't think he is trying to hurt Leo even unintentionally but he ruined what should have been one of the best days of Leo's life.

Grace's hair is a no. Just a huge, big, NO. :)

My limited understanding that any real estate owned prior to a marriage remains the owner's after the marriage. I'm not sure if this is the case in Mexico. Amparo should hold firm which is what she seems to be doing. Macario is a fool. Amparo can proceed with her relationship with Eugenio regardless. She has her children, it's not as though she needs or wants to get married at this point. And on the other hand, she could easily outlive him which seems probable and preferable :)

That Cesar haunting makes me think of all those fairytales where you get something but in exchange agree to give up something and only later realise what it was or what it means. I wonder what it would take for Mac to abandon Yo because he's only with her because she is what he wants from a woman: no compalints, sex and food. Can Amparo really lose all her land?

From what I interpreted, I don't think anyone but JuanPa realizes Gaby isn't happy. Amparo was clearly proud of her but didn't seem to sense anything was amiss. Amparo may be disappointed when she finds out but I suspect she will want her daughter to be happy so will support her.

I can't say for sure but while Ursula may have verbally agreed to give up her baby I had the feeling she a) wasn't thinking it through and/or b) said yes without having any intention of doing so. Ursula's mind has conjured up a very scary spectre and needs psychological help. Immediately.

Macario would leave Yo in a heartbeat if something better came along.

I don't think Amparo can be forced to give up half of her land. But we'll see...

Camino #58/59

In Mexico marrying couples can choose between community property and separate property arrangements; no info as to whether this can be changed later. We don't know how long ago Martina died, but note that Humberto does not own any of the actual land.

In most places inheritances are regarded as the exclusive property of the heir(ess) and therefore not community property. Since Amparo has said that these lands belonged to "my family" it stands to reason that she was Martina's sole heiress because she was taking over the restaurant. I suspect that Amparo was a legal adult at the time and may have been advised not to put a husband's name on any of it.

Whether she was already married, we do not know. We need a timeline on this. However, since she never put his name on any of the property documents he should not have a snowball's chance in hell at this. Fausto's lawyer is likely to be crooked, though.

Finally, scoring half of this property would not be the coup that getting it all would be and would certainly put Fausto on Eugenio's shit list. Now that Eugenio is off to Paris this timing is unfortunate.

Gaby may be shooting herself in the foot thinking she doesn’t like the career. School is very important but there’s a very big difference between the theory of something (ie. Learning from a book) and the hands on experience. Gaby experienced the job and loved it. It may be that she just doesn’t like school, some people don’t.

Darcy , as you said some folks don't enjoy school. Also , the perception of a job can be very different from the reality . I loved teaching , but many people don't like their jobs . My friend John used to tell me, " Everyone hates his job. That's why they call it work. "

I need to see Ester eating crow and humiliated before everyone. Cinthia's sister now has a drug citation and Cinthia, so fragile, fell off the wagon and could've died. Ester had an opportunity to help a young woman and become a supportive grandmother and she didn't even consider doing so because no one and their hurts are as important as her hurts.

If Ana Sofi's followers had any sense they'd realize what a fool she is to chase after someone who does not want them. The fool taped Julia saying nothing but what is common sense.

I tried to word my feelings on Fausto's tight lipped looks last night as delicately as I could but am so glad you laughed!

I would love to know exactly why Amparo married Macario. I just can't see her as a starry eyed young girl madly in love with "that cretin" (good one). Perhaps his charm seeemed more sincere and his speech and countenance less cringeworthy back in the day. I guess Humberto couldn't really stop her if she was of age. But I would love to see a flashback. Great observation that perhaps Macario is running roughshod over Leo to try and keep him "safe". But it's really hurting Leo who has been a good guy from the get go.
