Camino – Capitulo 65 – Part 1 of 6

Gaby and Lupita continue to talk and Lupita says she can’t keep crying over that jerk Sebas. Gaby agrees and says she likes seeing her sister surer of herself! Gaby tells Lupita she got mad at JP too, although she understands that he can’t be responsible for Sebas’s choices. Leo interrupts this anti-male sisterly bonding by coming in to share with his nieces the new song he’s writing. They agree to listen and it’s a very pretty song, a little sappy for my taste but both girls like it and are crying again by the time he is finished. Leo doesn’t know what to think of the crying audience but they tell him that his song is beautiful and they are just crying because they fought with their boyfriends.

Speaking of, JP and Sebas arrive home and Sebas is upset to see Este still in residence and she gives him the bad news that she is now the guest of his dear sister and isn’t going anywhere. JP says they both fought with their girlfriends because of her and she counters by saying they both need to remember who they are; they are too good to be chained to those two little townie girls (couldn’t think of a better way to translated Pubelina), they are both dominated by those girls. Sebas says she doesn’t know them but Este says she knows exactly what girls like that are like and she’s sure they are laughing their butts off right now. She decides that since they are on the outs with their girls, they should take advantage of the moment and consider themselves to be single at the moment. She’s pretty much all over both of them but she does offer to find a friend for JP. Sebas says she’s crazy if she thinks they are going out with her or her friends but Este says her friends are already on their way. Sebas reiterates, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! But Este looks like she likes a challenge.

More crying from Lupita and Amparo is consoling her (she should be apologizing for not teaching Lupita to listen) Lupita is still talking about men being liars so I guess she didn’t believe any of Sebas’ explanation. Amparo says she’s sure that Sebas really loves Lupita and she shouldn’t compare him to her father because they are nothing alike. Lupita says she never wants to see Sebas again and Amparo says she may feel that way now, but Sebas explained things and Lupita is blowing this out of portion. A surprised Lupita asks if mom really thinks so, and Amparo assures her she does. They can at least agree that JP isn’t at fault but Amparo’s advice is that both Lupita and Gaby go and resolve things with Sebas and JP right away, don’t let any more time pass!

Este wasn’t bluffing about her friends being on the way, not one but two other girls have arrived to visit and Sebas and JP are watching/spying badly from outside the room, they are quickly seen. The guys debate how disrespectful this is and Sebas comments on how quickly Miss Este has destroyed his relationship. But Karen let her stay, what can he do? JP says tell Karen to make her leave and Sebas says Karen isn’t home right now, but he will when she gets home. Sebas is eyeing the girls a little too much and even suggests they should wait with them but JP says no way. That’s a mistake! Sebas greets the girls but JP makes his excuses and beats a hasty retreat. Sebas enters the room for less than a minute and reconsiders, making his own excuses and practically running from the room as the girls beg him to stay.

Memo, Dani and Falso meet in the study and Memo starts off by to thanking them for the opportunity to talk with them. He wants to prove he isn’t who they thought he was… Falso interrupts by singing Dani’s praises, touching her pointedly and saying her ability to trust is one of the things he loves most about her but he is a professional skeptic…

 

Camino – Capitulo 65 – Part 2 of 6

Dani’s turn to interrupt. She says to let Memo finish and Falso says as you wish love. Falso tries to pull her close and Dani tries to avoid his embrace. He tells Memo to continue. Memo says he went to the jail that morning and talked to Oliva’s ex-cellmate.

Amparo lectures Gaby on making another error by fighting with JP. He’s a noble man and he adores her, he’s been by her side and it’s not right for Gaby to leave him over a silly thing. She’s already told Lupita not to blow things out of proportion. All Sebas tried to do is help a friend. Lupita says she’s not just any friend, she’s his ex. Amparo says either way, the girl was kicked out of her house and from what I understand, Sebas just offered her a place to sleep like any gentleman would, right? Both girls agree that’s what happened and they need to go talk to the boys right away! Gaby asks if Mom will let them borrow her car and Amparo agrees but drive carefully and call me when you get there. (Yay, Gaby and Lupita get to hurry off and find three girls in the house with Sebas and JP! Sigh) But before they go, Amparo wants to ask a question, what would they think if she went to a cabin with Eugenio?

JP is sleeping soundly and Sebas is anxious and unable to sleep. (Are you telling me that big house doesn’t have a separate room for JP?) Sebas wakes up JP to debate whether or not to go downstairs with the girls. JP says no way, no how; but Sebas isn’t so sure, he left everything for Lupita and she still thinks the worse of him. What his he sacrificing for? As a matter of fact, his spirit has just returned! It’s time to make up for lost times! JP can’t just leave Sebas to his bad decisions, he too is going to be downstairs by the time his girlfriend arrives. But as he tells Sebas, he’s only going to keep an eye on Sebas.

Amparo is asking permission from Gaby and Lupita as if she were the daughter and not the mother and she explains that they would be staying in separate rooms. Both girls encourage mom to live her life and be happy. She’s getting divorced and she has the right to move on. Amparo is pleased they feel this way but is worried about Chema because he doesn’t want her dating, Eugenio. Gaby says they could talk with Chema, a sisterly talk (this is probably a good idea) but Amparo says no, she will talk to him. He may be a child but she isn’t going to hide anything from him.

Memo says he was very affected hearing the tragedy that Oliva lived thorough, he’s already told Dani but he wants to tell Falso too, he wasn’t the one who treated Oliva that way. Falso shrugs and says, if you say so… – and I hate him but that was just plain funny! Dani asks Falso again to please hear Memo out. Memo says the last time he saw Oliva was the day he asked her to marry him and she rejected him. She wasn’t willing to spend her life with a simple trucker. Dani says she made a big mistake as she would have been happy by his side, money isn’t everything. Falso says Memo is lying. Memo wants to finish talking before Falso judges him but he’s like 64 and ½ episodes too late for ‘before Falso judges him’. Dani tells him to continue and Memo says that when they broke up Oliva was dating another man.

Oh, maybe the guys will escape round two after all, Gaby is too busy looking for something to wear to get on the road. She’s exasperated by her closet and her lack of the perfect reconciliation outfit while Lupita is exasperated by Gaby and wants to just call the guys and tell them they are on their way. Gaby says no way, it needs to be a surprise! Oh boy

 

Camino – Capitulo 65 – Part 3 of 6

Memo says Dani and Falso can return to the prison and ask if they don’t believe him. Dani was only told part of the story but Zulema trusted Memo and she told him the rest of it. Falso says it’s clear to him, Memo is lying. There was no other man. Memo ruined Oliva’s life and took her daughter from her placing her in that orphanage where luckily Dani and he were able to find her and give her a home. Memo says that even if Falso doesn’t believe it, Memo is grateful for that much, that Isa has had a home full of love! Falso says that’s right, we are a real family and you will never be able to destroy that! Memo says he isn’t looking to destroy it. Memo only wants what’s best for Isa.

Karen is having dinner with daddy and is spilling all the tea! Of course, Karen’s version of the story is that Dani is having an affair with Memo and that Dani is unstable and obsessed! She doesn’t care that Memo is a married man! As soon as Dani found out Memo was Isa’s bio-dad she just became fixated on being with him! Eugenio has a hard time believing it but Karen swears it’s true. Eugenio feels sorry for Satan and Karen chimes in that even though she’s never liked Falso maybe daddy should reconsider following the terms of the will in Falso’s inheritance. If after losing his wife and daughter, Falso also loses all his fortune, he might find himself without a reason to live! (Sounds good to me) Eugenio looks like he’s considering it.

Falso asks how Memo can prove that he wasn’t the one who hurt Oliva and Memo says because he is the opposite of what Oliva was looking for in that moment. She wanted a man with money and she must have tried to pass off Isa as his, to trap him into marriage. Falso says he’s heard enough and tries to dismiss Memo but Dani interjects that that must be why he took her daughter! Because he thought he was the father of the child! Memo isn’t sure, he thinks the man must have learned that truth and that’s why he treated Oliva so heartlessly and gave her child up for adoption after making her believe she was dead. Memo doesn’t know how anyone can be that cruel but he swears to Dani that’s he’s going to find that man and make him pay dearly for everything he’s done. The look on Satan’s face says, challenge accepted!

Dumb Sebas is paying spin the bottle? But still refusing Este’s kiss. He’s taking shots instead of purposely putting JP under fire. Two chicks are hanging on Sebas and the third is trying to be all over JP but when he refuses the kiss AND the shot, they manage to peer pressure/convince him to lose his shirt…. It’s so hard to write all this, these boys are so dumb! The girl by JP is now all over his muscles and of course the doorbell rings. Este is still trying to get her kiss from Sebas, but he is still drawing the line there (way over where the line should be drawn) and saying he’s deeply in love with Lupita and will not cheat on her. The little brunette trying to cuddle up to JP lets the Santos girls in and then runs strategically right back to drape herself all over a half-naked JP again in time for Gaby to see! Gaby does look great in her ‘reconciliation’ dress but I don’t think we’ll be seeing any kissing or making up anytime soon!

I’ve been hoping the whole time Memo wouldn’t mention the nurse who probably helped Oliva discover the truth and tip off Falso to her possible betrayal but he does!! Dani suggests it will be hard for them to find the man since Oliva never said his name, but Memo says there’s a nurse who may know, a Sandra. Dani recognizes the name and remembers it’s the same nurse that brought them Isa the day they adopted her. Falso just nods like a deer stuck in the headlights as Dani imparts this development to Memo. He finally snaps out of it and confirms he remembers too. Dani says Sandra told them that Isa was alone in the world because her mother died during childbirth and Memo says she must have been the accomplice of that man!

 

Camino – Capitulo 65 – Part 4 of 6

Falso tries to suggest maybe Sandra acted alone and she probably did it for money. He suggests the nurse even asked him for money for Isa but he says he didn’t pay it. They adopted Isa legally. Falso further distracts Dani from this idea by bringing up the pain of the miscarriage Dani suffered just before they got Isa.


Gaby orders Miss Brunette to get off JP but she doesn’t. Miss thing acts like she’s the lady of the house asking who ‘esa’ is and Gaby says she’s his girlfriend! Drunk Sebas tries to run to Lupita but she’s ready to leave. She says they came to resolve things with Sebas and JP but there’s nothing to resolve judging from the fact that they are sitting here with THREE girls!!! Este tries to break in saying the boys aren’t doing anything wrong but no one is interested in what she has to say. Miss Brunetta is STILL draped over JP and Gaby pushes her and tells her to stop touching JP before storming out the door with Lupita. Both Sebas and JP try to call after their girls but Sebas concludes that their case is sunk like the titanic! He blames Este but she rightfully points out that no one put a gun to their heads and forced them to hang out with them. The girls go back into the sitting room, celebrating their victory in creating drama.

Memo and Dani want to get a look at the prison records to find out the full name of the nurse but Satan says it’s not likely that the prison would give them access to such information. Satan suggests they leave it in his hands and viewerville screams NO!!! Memo says he too will ask his father’s lawyer friend for advice in the matter. Dani thinks it’s a good idea if they both try to resolve it there own ways, all that matters is they get the info. Memo thinks them for listening to him and understanding that he’s going to find out exactly what happened. Oliva may have made her mistakes but she’s Isa’s Bio-mom and she deserves justice and to rest in peace. Falso dismisses Memo with a ‘goodnight’ and Memo just scratches up his beard before uttering his own goodnight and walking out the door.

Eugenio proves he’s also a blind parent by saying Karen is very noble! She is able to worry about poor Falso despite the fact that she’s never liked him and now daddy understands why Karen was so upset the whole time they were in Europe! He thought she was just upset about Aaron – Eugenio really doesn’t have any idea who his daughter is, does he? Karen agrees that it’s just too much stress for one noblewoman and asks again what will happen to Falso’s inheritance if Dani leaves him for another man?

Dani wants to celebrate the fact they could all get together as parents of Isa and even talks about how she took pictures of Falso and Memo playing together with Isa! Falso wants her to delete the pictures just like he’d like to delete Memo from their lives but Dani suggests he put up with it because of the great love he supposedly has for his daughter! Falso tries to smile more than grimace and elated (naïve) Dani goes to kiss Isa goodnight.

Sebas and JP are still freaking out about this latest screw up, Lupita and Gaby are NEVER going to forgive them. Este interrupts and tries to get them to rejoin the party as it’s just getting started but Sebas says party’s over and tells Este’s friends to leave. He doesn’t even stick around to see it just tells JP to take care of it and walks off and ignoring Este’s protests. The girls leave and Este tries to complain to JP but JP just tells her to stop messing with Sebas, even though Karen told her she could stay it would be better if she left! JP walks away too and Este laments the stupid girl who put Sebas on a good path, but her time is almost up, tic toc tic toc.

 

Camino – Capitulo 65 – Part 5 of 6

Falso calls Aaron and says they have serious problems, he can’t talk much about it now but he wants to see him tomorrow morning at the house. Aaron wants to know what’s up and Falso starts to go into how they don’t have ‘her’ as controlled as they thought. He starts to vent a little more but Dani returns and he abruptly changes the conversation back to see you in the morning, and hangs up. Dani wants to know who he was talking to and he says Aaron but Dani is thinking back to Karen’s revealing that Aaron was Falso’s cover for his affair and she asks if it was really Aaron. Falso is charmed by the idea that Dani could be jealous.

Okay, we could only see the back of the woman sitting with Aaron when Falso called and I was wondering who it was, now it’s revealed as Aaron tells his companion she needs to disappear for a while. We see the face of none other than nurse Sandra and she asks why. Aaron lets her know that Falso wants to kill her.

Eugenio understands where Karen is coming from but his duty is to see Roberto’s last will and testament followed to the letter and that’s what he must do! Karen tries to protest but Amparo calls and Karen is cut off as daddy takes the call. Amparo is calling to tell Eugenio she’s thought it over and she wants to go to the cabin with him! Eugenio is thrilled and asks if Amparo is sure, she says she talked it over with the girls and they are okay with it. She still needs to talk to Chema but he’s a good boy and she’s sure it will be okay. An excited Eugenio says he’ll make a plan for 15 days from now and Karen’s face says she understands what that means. Eugenio hangs up and Karen goes off on how she hoped their trip to Europe would make him forget all about Amparo! In fact, she doesn’t want daddy with any woman and says he’s betraying her mother’s memory. She wants daddy to promise he won’t get involved with any other woman and Eugenio shoots her down right away. He’s in love with Amparo and he isn’t going to give her up for anything!

Sandra asks Aaron if Falso found out about their secret and Aaron says no, he’s never suspected and for her sake it’s better if he never finds out. Aaron thinks Sandra should leave the city tomorrow but she doesn’t think it’s a good idea. Aaron asks if she wants to end up like the doctor and Sandra says agreeing to help him and Falso was the worst mistake she ever made. Aaron reminds her that she was well paid for it and Sandra agrees greed got the best of her but that money was a curse. She ruined Oliva’s life and that’s she’s going to have to live with for the rest of her life. Aaron says life doesn’t have the rewind button and Sandra says he promised she would be safe from Falso, that he would protect her! Aaron just shrugs and says things have become complicated. Sandra says she isn’t willing to hide forever and Aaron says she will hide for as long as she has too! Sandra wants to know what that means, if Falso discovers who she really is, would Aaron be capable of following his orders? Would Aaron really kill his OWN SISTER!!! Aaron says not to ask stupid questions and to do as he says!

Next morning, Eugenio is talking to Sebas in the office and he asks what’s wrong? It’s Lupita, isn’t it? Sebas wants to know how dad knows that and he says ever since Sebas fell in love with Lupita if dad ever sees him down it is because of her. Sebas says he doesn’t know if it’s because of Lupita, well it is, but there’s so much going on in his mind, he’s confused. Sebas (who has his shirt half unbuttoned in the office?) says ever since Este returned, she’s brought nothing but problems! Eugenio says Este is a catastrophe and Sebas needs to get her away from him. Sebas says it isn’t that easy when you have feelings for someone!! He’s been fighting and fighting against what he feels but he has to admit he likes Este (why? She doesn’t have a single likable quality) and he doesn’t know what to do!

 

Camino – Capitulo 65 – Part 6 of 6

Amparo tells Memo about Eugenio’s invitation to the cabin! And she wants to know if Memo really thinks it’s okay that she accepted? Why does this grown woman need so much approval??? Memo is in favor of the outing and they have 15 days for Chema to get used to the idea! Memo agrees to think of something fun to do with Chema during the time Amparo is gone to distract him. And hey, if Falso will let him, he’ll even bring Isa too! Memo says Amparo shouldn’t feel bad about the fact that Chema doesn’t want her dating Eugenio. Chema may be sad at first but he’ll come around.

Memo’s phone rings with an unknown number and it’s Zulema. She called to tell him that she had a dream about Oliva and she’s been debating all day whether or not to call him but Dream Oliva begged her to take care of her and to protect her daughter from the man who destroyed her life. She needs to tell Memo something but the guard orders her to hang up the phone. Come and see me, she tells Memo, we need to talk! The guard rips the phone out of her hand and hangs it up.

Eugenio doesn’t understand, is Sebas going to break up with Lupita? No! He says right away. Well, does Sebas plan to date them both? No way! Once upon a time he would date three girls at once but that Sebas is dead and buried. Then what? Daddy really doesn’t understand, what is Sebas saying? Sebas is just overwhelmed with all of this. Este is crazy but he’s the only friend she has, the only one who can understand her and puts up with her. He has a connection with her from the past. Eugenio tells his son that he understands having confused feelings but Sebas needs to think carefully! Take the day and really think before doing anything. After that, please, he tells his son, make the decision that is best for you and the woman you love! That woman is Lupita! Sebas nods and leaves the office.

JP is shirtless and sweating while working out at home. Este is enjoying the show and interrupts to complement JP on his body. When she left, he wasn’t much to look at but look at him now! JP says she’s pretty but toxic and she should find her dignity and leave this house because Sebas doesn’t want to have anything to do with her. Este agrees she’s going to leave but she needs a big strong man to help move all her stuff because she brought too many clothes and she can’t get her suitcases closed!! LOL

Gaby and Sebas are talking and Gaby is trying to understand what happened. She doesn’t want to be mad at JP but it was hard seeing him like he was last night. Sebas swears that JP wasn’t doing anything wrong. He only went downstairs as back up to Sebas, to make sure Sebas didn’t do anything stupid. Gaby says he didn’t look bored and Sebas says they were playing a game, JP only took his shirt off so he wouldn’t have to drink! Gaby says she believes in JP and Sebas says even though he misses Lupita a lot he doesn’t feel like he can keep approaching her. Gaby says no way, we aren’t going to let either or our relationships be ruined by this! I’ll go to your house and talk to JP and then we can go back and talk with Lupita. Sebas hesitates for a minute and then agrees. He and Gaby shake on it and are off to find JP in whatever compromising situation Este surely has him in as I type.

Aaron arrives at the home of Satan looking for the devil himself, but he’s dropping Isa off at school. Dani says he’ll be back any minute. Aaron wants to take advantage of the opportunity to ask Dani to please help him with Karen. He swears that he is completely in love with Karen and has dreamt of marrying her for years! He says their breakup was hard but he’s done a lot of thinking and he’s needs to win Karen back. Dani stops him right there, before they talk about anything else Dani needs Aaron to clear up a doubt for her. Is what Karen told her the truth? Does Falso have a lover?

Darcy, the mishaps and machinations continued and you covered it all with your always wise and witty observations. You are so perceptive and attuned to the multitude of tumultuous emotions swirling in the characters minds and hearts (those that have them of course).

“Miss Brunette”, “Miss thing” and “anti-male sisterly bonding” were among many favorites.

Karen’s lies about Daniela were so outrageous, one could hardly blame Eugenio for doubting their veracity. I’m sorry she did seem to have him considering re-evaluating Fausto’s situation. At least he admitted he loves Amparo and won’t give her up.

“She’s exasperated by her closet and her lack of the perfect reconciliation outfit while Lupita is exasperated by Gaby”. Frankly, I’m exasperated by them both!

Lupita’s not ready for a relationship? It’s Sebastian who isn’t ready and frankly isn’t worthy. He is drawn to Este and can’t seem to break away from her magnetic pull. I don’t see her allure so can’t analyze it but he needs to figure things out. I’m trying to figure out why he had a large bunny statue on his nightstand. 😊

This running back and forth between houses to make up after every fight is getting a bit tiresome. Gaby and JuanPa need to untie the strings tethering them to Lupita and Sebastian. They would have far fewer problems if they could be a couple rather than a foursome.

“Aaron arrives at the home of Satan looking for the devil himself” made me smile. Of course he won’t tell Daniela the truth but I enjoy seeing him squirm.

I wonder why the wardrobe department hates Dani. That green blazer and orange top was another cringeworthy match.

Poor Zulema. I fear her time on the earth is dwindling quickly.

VENCER LA AUSENCIA #78 BRAULIO NEVER SAW IT COMING --OR--WILL ANA S and GINA BE BFFS? Part 1

Notes from the couch the gran final "cruising at 36,000 ft with severe turbulence, stay in your seat with your seatbelt securely fastened, items safely stowed, and btw the beverage service is canceled " edition

1. Misael aims for and hits Ange with the SUVl. Angel sees the SUV coming and is able to position himself quickly so he doesn't take the brunt of the hit and rolls off the hood and onto the ground. A crowd quickly gathers around him.

2. AnaS and Gina are horrified but Misael refuses to stop the car as he flees. Gina gets on her phone and calls on her followers to help her because she is being kidnapped. AnaS follows suit. At a traffic stop, Misael tells them to give him their phones and he throws them out of the window (Question: Why didn't AnaS and Gina get out of the car when it was stopped at the traffic light? Are there child locks on the doors or something???)

3. Braulio thinks that Ester has some sort of nerve coming into his home and accusing him. Does she have a witness? Ester insists that he killed her son. Braulio thinks that the death of Iván has left Ester a little "affected". He makes the cuckoo motion. She could use some urgent therapy. Jero jumps to Ester's defense. She is not to be ridiculed but respected. Jero is ready to stand up for her. Ester tells them all she will prove what she is accusing Braulio of. Braulio warns Ester to be careful of what she says or he might just sue her for mental suffering. Ester tells him to go ahead.

4. When they are alone, Celeste tells Braulio to give her all of the evidence he has that could be used against him so she can get rid of it.

5. Ester tells Jero she cannot believe how cynical Braulio is. She knows he is a murderer. She wants to go the police and file charges against him based on what she has found out Jero says she needs to calm down first and offers to go with her. He won't leave her alone and what is more he can't and doesn't want to. (WOO HOO!)

6. Misael drives AnaS and Gina down a gravel road out into the clearing in a forest some where. He has them get out and just when they are afraid that something bad might happen to them like him killing them, he drives away leaving them both alone in the middle of nowhere. They start to argue with each there and start to walk down the gravel road. (but in the opposite direction from whence they came???)

7. Rayo gets a text from Teo. He is having a super good time with some guys from the neighborhood. We see plenty of drinking and smoking going on. She asks where he is and he accuses her of being like his mother. He says he is near the complex and she is not to bother him.

8. Flavia tries to contact Teo but finds that his phone is turned off.
 

VENCER Part 2

9. Julia asks Chepina where Gina went. Chepina says she went flying out of there and didn't say. The hospital calls Julia to tell her that Angel is there because he had an accident. He is not in serious condition but is under observation and wanted her to be called. Julia leaves for the hospital.

10. Ester goes to see the police with Jero by her side. She explains why she thinks that Jero is guilty of killing her son. The officer asks if she has any proof. Jero describes what he saw but has to admit that he never saw Braulio there. The truck exploded a short time after he arrived on the scene. Ester talks about the bloody gauze that was found.

11.Angel tells Julia how he was able to avoid the worst part of getting hit. He admits that he did pass out for a few seconds . He doesn't think it was an accident either. That car was driven into him on purpose. They both agree that it had to be Misael.

12. The officer informs Ester that she cannot file charges against Braulio without evidence. She thinks that her word is worth something. The officer doesn't doubt her word but they cannot place somebody in jail just because of what she told him. Then, there is the problem of jurisdiction. Since this is not a federal crime and happened in Matehuala, it has to be litigated there and not in Mexico City.Eester is incredulous! She leaves with Jero.

13. Julia cals Mirna to le her know about her brother. Mirna reluctantly tells Rayo so as not to upset her. Yes, Angel is okay. Rayo ends up telling Mirna about Teo. She suddenly can't contact him and he has been different as of late. Mirna suggests telling his mother. Rayo says that would not be a good idea. Mirna actually calls Rayo "sister" and she happily notices.

14. Flavia complains to Max about Teo and blames him. Max blames her for smothering Teo and always being on him about something. Flavia tells Max she is missing money and Teo is the only one who knew where to find the key for her money box. She concludes that Teo is also a thief. Max decides they need to go out looking for him and they do.

15. Night falls and AnaS and Gina are still in the wild. They chat and have some pretty pathetic conclusions they have to face. AnaS says she has millions of followers and not one came to her rescue. Gina says her follower wrote her off. They have to agree that being influencers have given them nothing but inflate their egos. AnaS became an influencer so she wouldn't feel so alone. Gina says her aunt is always telling her to stop being an influencer and do something worthwhile with her life. AnaS says that at least Gina has her family.

16. The doctor tells Angel that he is out of danger and can leave. Angel convinces Julia that they take the rest of the night for themselves so they can be alone. She accepts the invitation.
 

VENCER Part 3

17. Ester is still moaning about how inept the judiciary system is. Jero can understand her frustration but the police are right. The crime happened in another city. He offers to go to Matehuala with her. She is sure that they will do nothing. Justice is useless in their country.

18. Celeste tells Braulio how restless she is with all of this going on. He assures he that nothing is going to happen to him with the police or at work. Nobody has caught him yet and nobody is going to. She informs him that if they are truly in this together, she wants to know every singe detail about what he did. He tells her she needs to calm herself down for her and the baby's sake. She wants the truth from him.

19. Flavia and Max end up at Rayo's to see if she knows anything about Teo. Flavia is her usual nasty self suggesting that Rayo probably told her son to disappear. Mirna steps in and tells Flavia to respect her house. Her father is ill. Mirna tells her that Rayo doesn't knows where Teo is.

20. At the same time, one of Teo's new found friends is seating him on a park bench since Teo is too drunk to walk on his own. Teo sends his location to Rayo and then passes out.

21. Rayo admits that she might know something. She explains that Teo's attitude had really gotten her concerned lately. Mirna had suggested that they talk to Flavia. Mirna says she backed off from doing that because of the way that Flavia handles herself. Flavia rolls her eyes. Rayo tells them that Teo said he had made some new friends with some guys who lived in the neighborhood behind the apartment complex. Flavia screams NO!!!! That cannot be!!! and wants to go and get him. Rayo goes with them to find Teo.

22. Angel takes Julia to his family's country house. He used to go there as a kid and never imagined he would be sharing it with the love of his life. Julia never knew she could be so happy with anyone. He asks her if she is ready to take the next step with him. She is.
He says that tonight is only for them. They get romantic.

23. Max, Flavia and Rayo arrive at the location that Teo sent Rayo. Flavia is arguing again with Max so Rayo goes looking for Teo alone and finds him unconscious. She cannot awaken him. Finally, Flavia and Max come over and take him to the car.

24. Angel and Julia make love. Afterwards, Julia says that Misael wanted to kill him. Angel knows and thinks they have to be alert but not now. They start kissing again.
 

VENCER Part 4

25. Rodolfo finally decides to go looking for Gina. He opens the door to leave and jumps back unexpectedly seeing Gina standing there with AnaS. He asks what happened to them and why AnaS is there. Gina starts to cry. It was all Misael's fault!!! Rodolfo wants to know what he did to them.

26. Max, Flavia and Rayo get Teo to the hospital. Flavia tries to go with Teo but they won'tlet her. Nobody knows howTeo is.

27. AnaS has supper with Gina and her family. The girls talk about their experience. Gina says how scared she was. AnaS realized that NOBODY cared about her. Rodolfo tells her not to day that and Chepina gives her a hug. She thanks them for letting her stay for supper. Rodolfo suggests she stay the night. Chepina says she can take her bed and she will take the couch. AnaS agrees to stay. She says she is worried about Angel after what he went through. She thinks he must be okay and with Julia. Chepina tays he is fine and thinks that Julia is taking care of him. Rodolfo thinks that Misael turned into a real devil.

28. Misael is at a club drunk as a skunk. He texts Braulio that he ran over Angel. Braun calls him an idiot and asks him who told him to be a vigilante. He tells Misael he needs to leave once and for all. Misael insists he will not be leaving without his son and making Julia suffer like she deserves to. Braulio warns him if the police catch up to him he cannot say anything. Misael agrees he won't. He only wants to mess Angel up so he won't end up with his old lady. Braulio repeats that Misael needs to take the money and run away for good. He needs to use his head this time. Celeste is eavesdropping. Braulio seems to suspect she is but finds her "asleep" in their bed.

29. The doctor tells Flavia and Max that Teo is suffering from alcohol congestion. He is in serious condition and although people can die from this (result of drinking too much alcohol), they do not expect Teo to. Flavia doesn't know what she would do if Teo died. Ester and Jero arrive with the medical insurance papers Max needs for Teo. Ester and Jero are also there to offer support to Max and Flavia. Both Max and Flavia thank them. Ester goes with Rayo to the chapel to pray for Teo.

30. Back at Julia's, Rodolfo is showing AnaS the family photo album. He and Chepina start arguing over who is who in a photo. They all end up laughing even AnaS.

31. Julia and Angel arrive. Julia asks what AnaS is doing there. Angel hopes she is not bothering the MIranda's. Rodolfo shuts them down. He explains that AnaS and Gina went through a really bad time all because of Misael who tried to run Angel over. Julia says she knew it had to be Misael. AnaS explains that he kidnapped her and Gina after hitting Angel. Julia wants to know how it happened.

32. Flavia is mad because nobody is updating her on Teo's condition. Ester and Jero leave but Rayo stays. Max and Flavia thank Jero and Ester for coming. The doctor appears.

33. The next morning, Ester tells Jero that Angel had an accident. He will working from home until next Monday. She needs to get all of his materials ready for him.

34. Ester runs into Braulio who is bringing boxes of papers to his car. Ester guesses they are from the Funes company. He asks if she is going to accuse him being an embezzler now. She says she isn't but Angel could. Braulio thinks not. Angel's hands are tied and nobody is going to get him out of the company but Ester is another story. She cannot understand how he can be so derisive when it comes to the Funes family. Braulio says that's life. Justice is not always on the side of the people we like. Ester says he is guilty, a cynic and is two-faced. She adds if justice doesn't do justice to him as it should, then someone else will sometime in his life. Braulio tells Ester she better say goodbye to Celeste because they are moving in three days.
 

VENCER Part 5

35. Misael is at his place showing off his furry chest and looking at pictures of Julia and Danny when they were a family. He almost calls Julia but doesn't,. Suddenly, there is pounding on the door. He puts on his shirt. It is the police who are there to arrest him for the attempted murder of Angel Funes. As they handcuff him, Misael looks sad.

36. Angel stops by to see Julia in the morning. AnaS comes out in her pjs to talk to them. First, she apologizes for the bad way she has behaved. As she sees how in love they are, it is time for her to step aside and go on with her own life. Julia thanks her and knows that was not easy after what she has been through. Angel says they wish her the best, too. AnaS also has two things to confess. First: It was Misael who stole the money. Her father did arrange the loan to look like it was coming from Zac and not him. Her father brought Misael to Mexico City and did keep him confined until Misael escaped. She is not proud of what her father did. She apologizes for what he did. Second, she ended up with the receipt for the notification of the lawsuit of her father's company against the Funes company. Angel says it never arrived. She says it did because BRAULIO signed for it and must have hidden it.

37. Braulio is loading his trunk with the office papers . Ester comes up behind him and BINGO she hits him the head with a skillet. He falls unconscious. She stuffs him in his trunk. She picks up her purse and his keys. She gets into his car and drives away.

Stupendous recap, Jarifa. Things are so hectic and downright shocking. Gracious for your steady maneuvering of all of this so I get the most out of the trip.

Surprising to me, I enjoyed the bonding under fire of AnaS and Gina. Yep, why didn't those dingdongs hop out of the car when Misael stopped to take their phones? What a (sad) hoot that none of their followers thought to help them.

I admit I loved Ester taking a frying pan to the back of Braulio's head.

Celeste going full throttle to cover up for Braulio is quite a PSA on losing yourself to a controlador/manipulador.

Just when Misael's chest hairs finally get free of his tight shirts, he gets arrested.

Wham, bam, Ester got her man. I was so shocked that everything left my head except for that scene. Now that she’s got him, what is she going to do with him (after she somehow manages to get him out of the trunk). Good thing it is the more diminutive Braulio rather than Misael. 😊

“Braulio thinks that the death of Iván has left Ester a little "affected" was one of the few honest things the man has muttered throughout this.

Could Celeste possibly be planning to get Braulio to confide in her only to turn him in at the last moment? No? Nah, I don’t think so either. That said, unless she does, she will likely be prosecuted. I thought she was smarter than that.

Well, Misael was caught, one down…He had everything and lost it. If he weren’t such an abusive brute I might have felt sorry for him but…nopis. “Just when Misael's chest hairs finally get free of his tight shirts, he gets arrested” was great Niecie.

Poor Teo! Although there might have been a faint beat in her tiny grinch heart, if Flavia shed a tear, I didn’t see it.

Angel and Julia have mad chemistry. Really, the only true romance here.

Diana, as for Ester beaning Braulio, I cannot remember being that surprised in any show/movie for a long time. That very event will always make me remember this Vencer with a smile. I cannot even imagine what is next on Ester’s “to do” list with Braulio. That being said, I agree that his “affected” description of Ester was absolutely true. Yes, the chemistry between Angel and Julia is at another level. They sure cast those roles perfectly.

I would have been more on Lupita's side if Sebas hadn't done what he just did. Why go to that damn party? And the whole 'I sacrificed so much' bit! How long before this will come up in some argument once again I wonder. What did he sacrifice? Partying? I think this is what's bothering me: he sees this as such a big sacrifice which is bound to come up. If he wants to party, fine. But then find a girlfriend who likes this sort of stuff. Maybe this is why he likes Stefe: both of them like doing whatever strikes their fancy and she isn't going to tell him not to do this or that but go along with it or evenencourage. But I cannot believe he doesn't seem to care she cheated on him. Isn't time supposed to help one see things more clearly?
I used to think Juan P was better at handling this, but I was wrong. Suitcases? Really? How old are these characters supposed to be btw?
I can't wait for Eugenio to find out what his dearest daughter has been up to for so many years.
Why do those girls only listen to their mother when she tells themwhat their boyfriends had already said?

How can tw parents be that useless? Arguing even when they go out to look for their son. How did Ester and Gero learn Max needed those papers?
I didn't expect Ana S and Gina's scene with Misael to end this way. Another take on left in the wild scenes. This will always make me laugh because of how it started. Ana S sure waited till the last minute to tell them the truth. So she was fine with her father deceiving a man she supposedly loved? Now she says she'll move on, but it's not like she seemed so very in love with Angel so it won't be that hard. Capricho is the best word I can think of here.

Seems to me that the writers are really stretching things by using the young folk and the Amparo/Eugenio romance..and is anyone else bothered by how Amparo kisses Eugenio...looks to me like she's avoiding lip locks. Can't we just get back to the main story line(s).

Diana, I could copy your entire comment! The only thing I would add is "Why in the heck would Dani ask Aaron about Fausto's lover?! Does she really think he will spill those beans?

Thanks, Darcy, an enjoyable recap of another one of episodes that are close to cringeworthy. When will some of the good guys wake up.

Sebastian is in no way ready for a relationship with Lupita and she needs to concentrate on her studies and meet a nice uncomplicated boy. They’ll probably end up together but I’ve never really liked Sebastian.

What a shock that the nurse is Aaron’s sister. I didn’t see that coming! And would he kill his own sister for Fausto? He never did answer.

Karen has returned with a vengeance. She’s worse than ever with her lies about people. Trying to get her dad to go against the will so she can have Fausto. I guess she wasn’t happy to hear that Dani and Fausto were “together”.

I hope Zulema lives to tell Memo what she knows, but that probably won’t happen. Olivia wrote him to watch out for their daughter, you’d think that would give him a clue that Olivia was worried about Isra’s well-being.

What will Aaron say? We’ll have to tune in tonight!

Wow, Jarifa, that was great. You’re right about keeping our seatbelts fastened, one surprise after another!

At least Angel and Julia’s romance will be clear sailing! But the business is still in danger.

It was a pleasure to watch Misael get handcuffed. Criminals really are stupid! Did he think he would get away with plowing down Angel. His chest hair was tamer without his shirt! When I first started watching telenovelas the women were always spilling out of their tops. Now the men are shirtless or half buttoned!

AnaSofia and Gina getting along was fun to watch. I good way to end their influencer days! And I agree that she didn’t love Angel that much. She hid stuff from him.

My first thought was Celeste is getting all the evidence to turn Braulio in. But I could be wrong. The hit on the head with the frypan was a fun surprise! But what happened to the boxes of paper? I feel like she left them in the road. I feel like Misael will spill the beans for a lighter sentence! And let’s not forget that someone killed AnaSofia’s dad!

I wonder if Flavia and Max will join forces to help Teo. Maybe that’s how their relationship works. Lots of arguing!

Still a lot to be resolved.

I like sub-plots that stand on their own. And while it is often the case that the second or third tier rather than the main couple shine, that isn't the case here. Like you, I want to get the focus back on Dani and Memo. There has been a bit too much filler.

Sebastian and Lupita are exhausting. Waterlily, I'm sure I'll be proven wrong but they just aren't a good fit at least at this stage in their lives.

Liz, I was also surprised Aaron's sister showed up. Not exactly warm and cuddly was she? Must run in the family :(

Niecie, I was also cringing as Memo spoke incessently seemingly sealing Zulema's fate with every word!

Just because Ester lost a son and thinks Braulio was responsible for it in her eyes does not give her the right to go to his home and go off on him like she did. As for AnaS , “capricho” is the perfect term. AnaS is shallow and I think she liked the “look” of Angel and her as a couple.

Liz, who knows? You still may be right about Celeste collecting the evidence against Braulio and turning him in. Very interesting comments on the progression of female and male costuming with chest revealing tops/shirts. I am going to have to pay more attention. : )

We knew Misael was going to try something like this and I hope Gina and Ana Sofi can testify and that Julia and Angel can get other evidence against him. Here's also hoping that the people on the street will testify that Misael had specifically aimed at Angel before flooring the accelerator.

Don't aske me to believe that Ana Sofie has been redeemed. This was a horrible trauma and she had a rotten childhood, but that is no excuse for how she has treated other people all her life.

Rayo and Julia are saints for forgiving Flavia and Ana Sofi. I especially want to see Flavia suffer for how she treats her son.

I want to believe that Celeste has seen the light about Braulio and I think he was Silvano's killer.

Great work, Darcy.

I am shocked that Daniela hasn't noticed how defensive Fausto was in the conversation with Memo. Even more shocked when Memo talked about Zulema. I am also convinced that one or more of those "correctional officers" is on Aaron's/Fausto's payroll.

Karen really crossed the lines this time on several fronts:
--- She is so ridiculously opposed to her dad having a love life that this alone makes her a mental case.
--- She has to know what a destructive force Estefania is and how this will mess up the whole family, not just Sebastian.
--- Telling her dad that Daniela is "unstable" is outrageous. She seems hell-bent on getting her committed or killed... and since she didn't marry Fausto back in the day this isn't making much sense.

As for Estefania's invasion, aren't there servants in the house to help her pack for her eviction? I also think that JuanPa was sticking close to Sebastian to save him from himself. Sadly this did not work and there is more trouble in paradise than ever.

This will only be compounded if Chema fights back physically and he is not inclined to this, so another kiddie shrink will get some fat paychecks.

 

CAMINO Ep 66 Part 1

Dani asks Aaron if Fausto has a lover. She urges him to stop denying but; she knows he and Karen argued because of it. She understands that Fausto is his friend and he wants to protect him, but if Fausto is cheating on her, she should be the first to know. Aaron doesn’t understand why Karen told her this. Dani reminds him that Karen is her friend. Aaron starts to say, “The truth is…” but Fausto enters and tells Aaron they have much to do. Aaron tells Dani they can continue their conversation later.

Semi-blondie tells JP that there is no luggage; she has something else for him that is much better; with that body, he needs a real woman! JP starts to leave, but Este throws herself at him and pushes him to the bed. As she continues to force herself on him, Sebas and Gabi walk in! When Gabi calls out to him, he easily pushes Este off (shoulda done that earlier!) and stands up with lipstick smeared lips, eyes wide open and breathing hard.

Zulema is brought to a room and asks why she is handcuffed. The guard tells her that her visitors have arrived. In walks Fausto and Aaron! Aaron hands the guard Monday after she slips him a knife! The guard announces that they have only fifteen minutes as she leaves. Fausto sits down and introduces himself. Zulema swears that she hasn’t mentioned his name to anyone, but Fausto retorts that she has been talking too much. When he asks how much she knows about the nurse, Zulema denies knows anything. She just knows that she came to visit Olivia a few times…she brought her medicines and only wanted to help her. After Zulema swears that she won’t talk to anyone else, Fausto is sure she won’t…because dead people don’t lie! Aaron grabs her and covers her mouth as he holds the knife close to her neck! Fausto hisses that he will be the last person she sees…and she will see that no one messes with him! Fausto stands and turns his back as he smirks…and we only hear a thrust!

Back at chaos central, Sebas asks, “What are you doing?!” Este quickly slaps JP shouting, “How dare you!” When Sebas asks JP why he was kissing Este, JP quickly asserts that he was not doing anything! He swears to Gabi but she SLAPS him and tells him he has his face smeared with lipstick; how could he do this to her?! Sebas shouts that they are brothers And asks why with Estefania? This is not done with novias or ex-novias! JP tells them exactly what happens, but Este calls him a cynic and accuses that he was the one who threw himself at her! Sebas tells JP that he just plummeted to the lowest; he forgot about their friendship! Gabi cries that she doesn’t know what she’s doing there and leaves. When JP tris to follow, Sebas gets in his lipstick smeared face and tells him not to get get close to her! JP retorts that it hurts him that Sebas doesn’t believe in him and runs off after Gabi.

Now downstairs, JP pleads that Gabi listen to him. Gabi asks why this is happening. JP assures that he didn’t want to kiss her; she was the one who threw herself at him. Gabi sarcastically reproaches that he is so small and thin that he couldn’t get her off of him (good point!); he is a liar! JP tells her that he is telling her the truth. When he asks her to trust him, Gabi trusts what she saw with her own eyes! She will not forgive him! JP gives up and tells her to think whatever she wants. What she saw has an explanation but she is not willing to listen. Gabi cries that she came over to forgive him and he did it to her again! She doesn’t even want to look at him! After she leaves, JP leans on the door and slides down to the floor.
 

CAMINO Ep 66 Part 2

Upstairs, Sebas is holding Este’s head with both hands as he asks why she kissed JP…to provoke him right?! Este tells him that she came back to Mexico because of him, because she can not forget him. Does he really think she is so low as to seduce his friend? ( YES!!) Sebas retorts that she continues to be the same as always…a cyclone that destroys everything in its path! Este asks if he really thinks a Princess like her would set eyes on someone like JP who is a 7 when she is a 10? Sebas agrees that she is a 10…on the Richter scale! She came back like an earthquake to shatter his life…and his feelings, as always! Este then thinks that Sebas is jealous so that means he still loves her. Sebas admits doubting what he felt for her and for Lupita’s, but after this, he is sure that there will NEVER be anything! What they had has been extinguished!

Eugenio is in Karen’s office telling her that he is worried about Sebas. Este’s return has Sebas in turmoil. Eugenio wants Karen to talk to Este since it is not right that she stay at their house…and Eugenio knows Karen invited her to stay. Karen didn’t think it would affect Sebas, but agrees to talk to Este. Eugenio thanks her and comments that Sebas has changed for the better and Eugenio doesn’t want him veering from that path. When Karen tells him that she has always liked Este for Sebas, Eugenio states that is over; Sebas is now with Lupita! Karen understands now…since Lupita is Amparo’s daughter, he is siding with her. Eugenio assures that Amparo has nothing to do with this. Karen then asks if Eugenio has made a decision. Is he going to stop seeing her?

Sebas has now gone downstairs and asks JP to move because he needs to pass. When Este speaks up, Sebas will be very clear with her, when he returns to HIS house, he doesn’t want to see her there! He turns to leave and tells JP to also leave! After Sebas leaves, JP turns to Este and asks what was she thinking?! Este continues her little act and asks how he dared to kiss her! JP calls her a LIAR! She knows exactly what happened, he then tells her that he would touch her if she were the last person on earth! She is TOXIC!

Eugenio tells Karen that her mother was the love of her life; there isn’t a day that goes by that he doesn’t remember her…but years have passed and he feels alone. Karen comments that he has her (whoop-di-doo!) Eugenio argues that it’s not the same. Soon she will have her own life with her own family and so will her brother. Eugenio (rightly) thinks that he deserves to have a companion; some whom he can share his days with. When he asks her to give herself the opportunity to get to know Amparo, Karen suggests that Amparo is only after his money. But No! replies Eugenio. Amparo is not like that; she has sound values…that is why she wouldn’t sell her land to the company; because for her, family is most important. Karen berates Amparo for being a “tamalera” and Eugenio points out that he never taught them to be prejudiced; money doesn’t make a difference with people! He asks that she not to talk like that about an honest, working woman who practically raised her children alone! Karen can’t stop him from going out with that woman, but she can say that she doesn’t like her for him!

At mom’s advice corner, Lupita has explained what happened to Amparo. Amparo thinks those boys are good, but everything they have planted can go dry. After Lupita describes what they saw, Amparo advises that they should allow the boys to tell their version…there will always be some cunning girls who will wink at them. They shouldn’t be impulsive; but if they are sure that the boys are lying, then it may be time to take another path.
 

CAMINO Ep 66 Part 3

At demon central, Fausto tells Aaron that they need to find that nurse! He points out that Aaron hired her and asks what he knows of her. Aaron lies as he replies that the doctor recommended her...he said she was very discreet. After some contemplation, Fausto wonders if it was the nurse who told Olivia that her child was alive. Aaron doesn’t think so. Fausto then asks about the prison sign in sheets, but Aaron didn’t find anything; the woman may have used another name. Aaron tells Fausto to be calm, but Fausto can’t since that woman knows him well. Memo was told exactly what he did and said to Olivia! Sandra entered his home with the baby on the day he convinced Dani to adopt; she knows everything so…Fausto wants her dead!

Memo arrives to the prison to see Zulema. Dirty guard approaches him and tells him that Zulema had a confrontation with the other prisoners and she lost her life.


Dani is at a garden center when Memo calls; he needs to talk to her but in person. After he assures her that he is fine, he tells her about Zulema’s call and that she lost her life. He also asked to see the sign in sheets but they refused so he is going to talk to the lawyer and ask if he can help. Dani comments that Fausto is looking for the same info, maybe he’ll have better luck. Dani asks that Memo remain calm and drive carefully.

Sandra goes to see Aaron at the company. He chides her for being there, but Sandra just wanted to say goodbye. He tells her to stop being so corny; their lives are at stake! She retorts that it’s because of him that they are the situation they are in. When he asked her to help with this, he said he would protect her. He then chides her for visiting Olivia several times; so Sandra explains that she just wants to help her since she was I’ll
And had no one in the world. She would take her meds and money; it’s the least she could do after helping Fausto steal her daughter!

Sebas complains to Eugenio about Este who always ends up doing the same thing. She is like a Kamakazi; when she has something good going, she always destroys it! And now she messed with his own friend in his own house! He then sees Este approaching with her luggage. He reminds her that he did not want to see her when he returned! After Eugenio tells him to calm down, Este tells him that she is leaving and wanted to say goodbye. Sebas shouts again telling her to leave! After Eugenio tells Este to leave, Sebas assures that whatever chance they had to be friends, she ruined! Este tells him that he should be angry with JP since he kissed her forcibly…she is telling the truth (NOT!). Eugenio tells her to leave already; she is not welcome in his home. After she leaves, Sebas rants that he is tired of women! Lupita doesn’t trust him! And the Stefi with her…he doesn’t deserve this!

Sandra continues to explain why she helped Olivia who was the living dead. Aaron then guesses that it was she who told Olivia about her daughter being alive...so Sandra is the cause of all their problems because Olivia sent Memo a letter and now he is digging around. As Aaron tell her to Leave! Karen passes by and overhears Sandra demand that Aaron protect her from Fausto! Karen approaches and surprises Aaron who has his back to her...as she comments that she didn't know he had a sister.

JP goes to see Gabi; he wants to talk, but Lupita keeps interrupting as Gabi remains quiet. JP tells her that if she really knew him, she would know that he is not guilty of what happened. If he is there it's because hse loves her....and he doesn't want their love to end because of a stubborn girl who used him to make Sebas jealous.

After Karen introduces herself, Sandra recognizes her as the woman who her brother wants to marry. When Karen asks what she thinks about that, Sandra replies that she wouldn't recommend it because he is too controlling.
 

CAMINO Ep 66 Part 4

Dani has taken Isa home and told Fausto about the suspension. Fausto blames Memo and his family for all the problems they have. Isa tried to explain what happened and Dani supports Chema for protecting Isa, but it falls on deaf ears. Fausto will punish her...she can see Memo for a whole month! Isa cries that she wants Memo at her birthday party, but Fausto remains firm.

Chema is also being scolded by Memo and Amparo for getting suspended. Chema tells them what he bully said and Memo thinks kids can be cruel. Amparo tells him that it wasn't right that he used his fists. Chema complains that it's not fair tat Amparo is punishing him! She misbehaves and nobody punishes her! When Memo asks why he is saying that, Chema replies that his mother doesn't love his father and now she spends her time with Eugenio...and she doesn't love them like she used to!! Chema runs off and Memo offers to go talk to him.

Karen demands an explanation, but Aaron reminds her that he has never denied telling her secrets but she passed up the opportunity to find out all of Fausto's dirty deeds. After futile discussion, Karen tells him that if he doesn't tell her why his sister needs protection. she will call Fausto and ask him. Aaron lies and tells her that his sister owes Fausto money...and she can go ahead and call Fausto and explain why she told Dani that he has a lover!

Isa continues to complain about her punishment and Dani thinks Fausto is being too harsh. After Isa runs off screaming, Dani tells Fausto that he is hurting their daughter and she will not allow it.

Memo advises Chema as to how he should respond when the others bother him...he should use his intelligence and talk his way out. And if the bullies don't listen, then he should go tell a teacher.

Aaron informs Karen that Fausto is set on finding out what she is planning...and he is curious too. Karen explains that if Dani finds out that is she who is Fausto's lover, all she would lose is a friendship; and she really doesn't care about that. When Aaron asks why she just didn't tell Dani that she is Fausto's lover, she replies that she wants the idiot to figure it out herself. Karen then tells Aaron that she needs his help. When Aaron asks what's in it for him, Karen replies that the fact that he has a sister would remain safe...and she might consider giving him another chance.

Memo explains to Chema how relationships can end using himself and Humberto as examples. Chema asks if his parents won't make amends, Memo explains that no, even though Eugenio wouldn't exist, his parents won't get back together because their love ended. Chema cries that he doesn't want his mother to marry; he doesn't want to have another father. He wants his parents to be together! Memo assures him that his parents will love him no matter what happens.
 

CAMINO Ep 66 Part 5

Amparo has told Mac about Chema being suspended and wants him to talk to Chema. Mac thinks that the best thing that could happen is for Chema to leave that school...his son doesn't belong in that uppity school where his son is being mistreated; he should return to his humble school. Amparo mentions that Chema and Lupita are very good at school and if Mac doesn't want to support them, they have a mother that will! Mac brings up Eugenio and Amparo throws back that he has Yo! He denies having anything to do with Yo but Amparo saw them in bed! She hasn't told the kids because she doesn't want them to have a bad (even worse!) image of their father...but he'd better not tempt her!

Dani is with Isa who is complaining about her punishment; she wants Memo to be here when she blows out her candles! Dani doesn't think that Fausto will concede to changing the punishment, but she wil try to negotiate something for Isa's birthday.

Mac goes in to talk to Chema and shouts that what he did was wrong! But then he whispers that it isn't true' he is proud of Chema for defending himself like a man! Chema explains that he defended Isa and it is his duty as a superhero to defend those who are innocent. Mac reminds him that he also needs to fight against villains like that uptight guy. When Mac reminds him that they will try to convince him that his mother should go out with that man, Chema cries that he doesn't want another father! Mac assures him that he will be Chema's only father. Chema then asks is Mac wants him to have another mother; so Mac replies that the woman is only his friend...and if Chema wants, he'll stop seeing her because Mac does love Chema!

Stef meets with her mother at a restaurant. When she tells her mother that they ran her out of the house, the mother SLAPS her hard and reminds her that they are out of money and Stef marrying Sebas is their only hope! Stef counters that if her mother hadn't spent all the money that her last husband left her, they wouldn't be in this situation! The mother reminds Stef that she also benefitted from the money since they traveled the world together. The mother insists that if Stef doesn't marry Sebas, they could end up in the streets. When Stef tells her that she has tried but Sebas is in love with some naca, The mother retorts that doesn't matter; when she met Stef's father, he was married and she managed to make him get a divorce and marry her! The mother insists that Stef not give up...neither one has worked and they are not about to start...Stef HAS to marry Sebas!

Rgv Chick, a superb rendition of a(nother) disturbing episode where harsh truths and terrible retribution ran rampant. You masterfully led us through mazes of evil, disbelief and treachery. Journeying from “mom’s advice corner to “demon central” and every stop in-between you painted a complete picture, rich in texture and complexity.

Fausto was clearly feeling a rush of adrenaline as Aaron drove the screwdriver into Zulema. I felt a wave of nausea and revulsion. Sick and twisted.

“Sandra continues to explain why she helped Olivia who was the living dead”. Sandra appears to be in the netherworld herself and an empty shell of whatever her former persona was. Having Fausto not know she is Aaron’s sister was surprising. Karen will now hold a false truth over Aaron’s head. Another unholy alliance is struck.

“When Aaron asks why she just didn't tell Dani that she is Fausto's lover, she replies that she wants the idiot to figure it out herself”. Perhaps but the main reason is that she cannot take the risk of Fausto leaving her once and for all.

“Este then thinks that Sebas is jealous so that means he still loves her”. I fear I must agree with “Semi-blondie” (loved that). Sebastian was completely out of control. He knows full well what and who Este is and he would never have acted like a madman if there weren’t strong residual feelings for her. What happened to “bros first” Sebastian? He knows JP has absolutely no interest in her!

We now know Este is (at least partially) there at her greedy, grasping mother’s request. She must have thought the best way to “get” Sebastian was to divide and conquer. First, separate him from JuanPa. Next, Lupita.

When JP got up to leave the table at Lupita’s, Grace was up and out of her seat, right after him.

The boy who provoked Chema at school was being very rough with Isabela and wasn’t going to let her go. Don’t they have playground monitors at school? The headmistress reminded me of the warden from the movie “Matilda”. Well, now Macario has his wish and Chema is expelled. I hated the way Fausto spoke to Daniela about Isa being suspended. I hate the way he always speaks to her period.

Memo was so good with Chema. He is a good father. We saw far too little of him tonight.

Thank you RGV chick for this witty retelling of ALL THE DRAMA!!! And boy did we get drama last night!!! Wow!!! You captured it all flawlessly as always!

It was really unfair to suspend Isa from school for that incident! She didn't do anything. She was picked on and didn't even fight back, how does she end up suspended? Then Falso wants to punish her too, for what??? Not to do outdone in the injustice department his punishment is to ground her from MEMO????? That makes no sense at all! Memo wasn't involved in any of it and Falso is grasping at straws trying to get something he wants under the 'guise' of punishment! As a rule, I am totally far a united front in parenting, support each other, don't contradict each other in front of kids, etc etc. But this is too far, Dani should have asked him if he was high! In front of Isa and said no way, Jose!

I am anti-violence, especially for children and I agree 1000% that Chema should have found a non violent way to deal with that bully... that said, the little boy looked adorable getting in his stance prepared to defend himself!!! I don't think Chema was expelled though, he got suspended for three days just like Isa, right? I thought it was horrible the way the head mistress talked to him - basically saying he should be falling down on his knees in gratitude for the opportunity to go to that school! What is classist snob.

I was shocked that Este came on to JP so blatantly!! I don't know why I expected something more subtle, she is who she is. I also don't think she knew that Sebas and Gaby were there and would catch them, so what was her plan? Was she going to actually sleep with JP to tear apart the best friends??? Diana must be right and she planned to divide and conquer but wow, that was BOLD!! Kind of like her lipstick!

Memo was good with Chema and then Mac was horrible as always.

A whole episode without Ursa. That was fun!! :)

Thanks Rgv Chick, that was a great recap of an episode where nothing positive happens for the good guys. And they keep adding bad guys! Stef, her mother and the little boy. Did everyone see his smile when the principal was doling out the suspensions! I guess you must have that evil smile in order to play a bad guy in these productions. Or at least smile at the wrong time!

Karen seems to be more actively stirring things up. We can learn how not to be a good friend from Karen, Grace, and Estefania.

Memo is so great with kids. I wonder if that carries over to real life. And Fausto is so uptight it’s hard to remember that carefree smile and dance!

I’m glad we didn’t have to see the murder, Fausto seemed to enjoy it. Aaron is literally a killer for hire.

Poor Chema, I hate the messages his father is giving him. Why did these woman ever marry them? I guess to give the show drama!

If Estefania has to marry Sebastian I guess we’ll have another fake pregnancy. She’ll have to get him really drunk to make him think he did anything.

When will Dani and Memo see the truth? I think we’ll have a long wait.

Diana, I might be wrong too, but at the end of the episode when Mac and Amparo were arguing Mac says that getting kicked out of the snobby school would be best for Chema and Amparo counters with the information about how Chema will learn English at the school, etc. That conversation makes sense to me if Chema is suspended but it doesn’t make sense to me that they would be having a ‘if Chema got kicked out’ conversation if he had been already kicked out. My memory says all three children got the same 3 day suspicion and Chema got told if it happened again he would lose his scholarship and be expelled but I am not sure.

It's funny that first those girls get mad at their boyfriends when they don't have a reason. Then those idiots get themselves into situations where itappears they did actually do something. I'm giving up on Sebastian. He knows what his semi-blondie is like and still acuses JP of betrayal. Whatever he says, he fancies that girl if even the thought of JP getting involved with her makes him so angry.I hate that both Lupita and Gabi had a point when it came to their boyfriends.JP could have pushed her away before Gabi showed up.
I'm surprised Daniela doesn't realise Fausto deliberately picked a punishment that would hurt Isabela. Alarm bells shold have started ringing in her head a long time ago.What kind of negotiation does she expect? She'd have to threaten him with something to get her way because that's what Fausto does.
Sandra's conscience will be her death sentence I'm afraid.
Macario must be really good at pretending if Amparo never realised he didn't love even their kids. I wonder if he'd become like Fausto if it turned out one of his kids wasn't really his biological kid.
What makes Daniela think Aron would betray his boss?
It's sad to see that Eugenio doesn't know his daughter at all.How did she become so aawful? Wasn't Eugenio supposed to have been a devoted father?
I can't believe Sebastian considered being friends with semi-blondie. Where is hisdignity? Or is he that hormonal? Would he have forced Lupita to invite his x to watch a movie together or something? I wonder what he'd have thought if he had decided to get back with her and later learnt she used him because every man is a bank account.I almost wish he had got a good lesson.

Sebas and JP handled Este like morons, so even though they're not guilty of cheating I don't mind Lupita and Gaby moving on. But we know they won't move on and lots of crying will ensue, almost making me prefer Grace's annoying evil smirk.

Dani and Ampara together talked with a school administrator. I got the impression Chema got a stiffer penalty than Isa but was still in the school, largely because Amparo didn't go ballistic.

Poor Zulema. Surely this means a fiery end for Fausto and Aaron.

Too much evil and treachery last night. I need some lightness. Where is Lola?

Every time I hear these classist attitudes in novelas my blood boils. What hypocrisy:

Here we have honest-but-bland Lupita studying law and psycho blonde Estefania who doesn't work and probably got kicked out of some "uppity" school a few years ago. Amparo is a good role model with her honesty and hard-working ways while Loreta is nothing more than a prostitute in wifely disguise as she marries wealthy men and bleeds them dry with her extravagance, now wanting Estefania to do the same. Hitting her in public shows what class she really belongs to. She has more in common with Yolanda than with any other female character in this tale.

If Estefania's behavior is all an act she is nowhere as smart as she thinks she is. Furthermore, Eugenio is on to her antics. Does he know that she and her egg donor are flat broke?

Since Estefania acts hysterically she is less deadly than Karen, whom I think has an Electra complex. How did she not meet some wealthy attractive guy her own age during almost 6 months in Europe?

Macario clearly fears being eventually snubbed by his own children; this is not uncommon. However, his greed matches that of Loreta's and Yolanda's. Karen doesn't seem to be money-greedy; she has enough and sees a inheritance in her future, but she craves control. For her this isn't a means to an end so much as for her ongoing amusement at the expense of others. Her expression of contempt for Daniela is emotionally sadistic.

Psycho bitches: Karen, Estefania, Grace, Ursula. Karen would definitely win the cage fight.

The Good Ladies: Daniela, Amparo, Gabriela, Lupita

The Greedy Ones: Yolanda, Loreta

Ones Trying to Change: Sandra, Ursula (I am betting on their ultimate failures.)

Aaron has no conscience. He has come to the end of his rope about his sister. He should not trust Karen to keep that secret so Sandra needs tp hightail it out of the country yesterday.

Despite having been on his feet JuanPa was a sitting duck for Fanny's attack. Too bad Gaby didn't kick her in the fanny instead of what happened.

Isabella was not deserving of any punishment and those teachers have likely ben feed the same crap that US teachers have (in addition to having been stripped on any disciplinary authority).

Fausto uses any excuse to be cruel to Isabella.

I would bet that Karen played up to Eugenio since childhood and was a pretty child. Most fathers fall for that.

Everyone made such astute observations and comments today!

Now that the dust has somewhat settled, I'm preoccupied with Este. She isn't going to hang her head and slink away (if only!!) :) Her brute of a mother won't let her do that.

But, but, HOW is she going to ingratiate herself back into Sebastian's if not good then at least can-somewhat-tolerate you graces? He's just given his best friend the boot and is obviously (and sadly) beside himself over what he THINKS is Este and JP's betrayal. Eugenio wants Sebas to have nothing to do with her but Sebastian is "in it" whether he wants to be. Or not.

I want Dani to start standing up to Fausto. Do we knnow when Ursula is due??

VENCER EL PASADO #79 TRUTH "AND" CONSEQUENCE???? Part 1

Notes from the couch : the gran final "cruising at 36,000 ft. still seated with a securely fastened seatbelt, items safety stowed, canceled beverage service, flight attendants seated and belted in their jump seats reminding passengers to use the oxygen masks first for themselves in case of their deployment" edition.

INTRO

YESTERDAY

A Funes worker is handing Ester the keys to the warehouse that Funes was asked to vacate. The worker says it is too bad they had to move out because the warehouse is enormous and is located in an ISOLATED spot where the trucks can easily come and go without disturbing anyone. A rep from the owner of the property will be by tomorrow to pick up the keys. Ester says they can get the keys from her.

ESTER: "When sorrow is overflowing due to the lack of justice, we can get to the point of committing the unthinkable in order to soothe our broken heart."

TODAY

1. As Ester drives away with Braulio in the trunk, a neighbor on the street turns to take a look.

2. At the hospital, the doctor tells Max and Flavia that their son is okay but he has barely been stabilized. He reminds them again that alcoholic congestion can cause death. He spoke with Teo and he evidently has problems. The doctor tells them that Teo needs to see a therapist ASAP. The nurse will come for them shortly so they can see him. They breathe a sigh of relief.

3. Rayo tells them she she is happy for Teo. She is going to have to go but she wants them to tell Teo how much she cares about him. Max thanks Rayo for everything she did. Flavia manages to say thank you, also. Rayo leaves.

4. As soon as Rayo is gone, Max tells Flavia that she could have been a lot nicer to Rayo the whole time she was with them. Flavia goes on the defensive saying she WAS nice. Max reminds her if it weren't for Rayo they wouldn't even be there. Teo trusts her. She is his only friend. Didn't she hear what the doctor said that Teo needs to be in therapy? If that is what he needs it is because she and he haven't been good parents. He asks her to try to understand that ALREADY, please. She looks on sourly and stone-faced.

5. Angel, Julia, AnaS and Gina have just left the Ministerio Público where Angel has made his statement against Misael. AnaS takes Angel aside to talk to him but adds is going to be fast because her heart is broken. It is time to say goodbye and they will not be seeing each there for a while. She insists on returning her Funes company shares to him. As for the money her father loaned him, a lawyer will be in contact with him to reach an agreement. She cannot have any contact with him. Angel understands that is how you close cycles in your life. She admits they had some good times and hopes in the future they can be friends. Angel says not just friends because she will always be a part of his family in some way. He also informs he that Mirna will be paying her back the money she owes her. She tells him that he and Julia make a lovely couple. She wishes him success and tells him goodbye.


 

VENCER Part 2

6. Gina and Julia have news for Angel. A police official came out to tell them that Misael has been arrested already. Somebody gave them his location and they were able to grab him. They are going to be taking him to a jail in a neighboring district.

7. In Teo's hospital room, he apologizes to his mother and father. Flavia tells Teo, her love, not to say that. They all were responsible. She and Max have realized all of the damage they caused him unintentionally. Max thinks they all have a lot to learn from the experience. Flavia loves Teo with all her heart. She is so proud of him. He has all of the bests qualities that neither she or his father have. It is hard for her to say but she recognizes that she has been a difficult kind of mother. Her best intentions ended up in an abundance of love that ended up smothering him. Max apologizes for not being a good father. He wasn't one with Iván and he repeated the same mistakes with him without even realizing it. He ignored him. Teo explains that at a times he felt just like Rayo, that he didn't matter to anyone. Max assures him that his situation is not like that. They love him. Flavia agrees asking him to forgive them. Sometimes, as adults, they don't know how to deal with personal problems and end up losing sight of what is the only important thing and that is him. They want to be there for him when he needs them the most. Does he forgive them? Teo does and they all hug.

8. At the afore-mentioned warehouse, Braulio awakens to his own personal horror show where his wrists and ankles are duct taped to some kind of dolly and his mouth is taped shut. He struggles to free himself and tries to shout for help. Ester approaches him with her handy dandy frying pan. She rips the tape from his mouth so he can shout all he wants for help and she informs him there is nobody to hear him. He looks at her with fear. She reminds him that he told her that justice doesm't always happen to those who are deserving. She says he is right and she is going to remedy that situation. She wants to know THE TRUTH about what happened on the day of the accident. He tells her that she is crazy. She tells him to think about what he wants. She shows him that neither of their phones have the cameras turned on because it is not her intention to record him with the idea of turning it over to the police. She says he still might get his way in all of this but she has the right to know what happened. He isn't going to say a thing. She has all the patience in the world. The warehouse is abandoned so they can stay there for as long as it takes him to talk. She says she isn't capable of doing that. She asks him if he doesn't think she is capable of that and much more in seeking justice for her son. He is sure that Celeste is going to look for him and find him. She asks how. She already sent Celeste a message from his cellphone telling her that he will be home very late from work. If she has to, she will send another message. Braulio starts screaming for help again . She tells him to scream all he wants, but he will end up talking.
 

VENCER Part 3

9. At her home, Rayo explains to her father how her friend Teo went through a rough time but he is okay now. He thinks she is the kind of friend to have. He asks her to be his friend and they hug. Unfortunately, he looses his tie to reality and thinks she is a very young Margarita. She explains that she is his daughter. He laughs and starts to cry when he asks her who Margarita is. She explains that she was her mother. He nods in agreement commenting that they are going to see her in Laredo. Rayo tells him that already happened and he couldn't make the trip there.

FLASHBACK: Margarita is sitting at a café in Laredo waiting for Homero. She checks her phone for a message from him but there is none. She texts him to let her know if he is going to be late and she will wait for him. She asks him to make sure he comes. She has something very serious to tell him. Hours pass. Homero never shows.. A very disappointed Margarita pays her check and leaves.

Homero remembers that Margarita was waiting for him but he didn't go to see her. He starts to cry because he is so very sorry. Rayo says there is no reason to get upset because finally she and he did get to meet each other. Homer laments that his mind is going to be gone some day and who even knows where. He is farther gone each time he isn't there. Rayo says it doesn't matter because she, Angel and Mirna will always be there. Homero wants to visit the apartment complex where Rayo lived with her mother. She promises they will go but they have to wait for Angel. He agrees. Homero says he was going some where and cannot quite remember what that was. Rayo quickly says he was going to sit on the steps and talk to her. Homero agrees and sits down.

10. Back at the warehouse, Ester presumes that Misael was Braulio's accomplice and that he hired him at the Funes company to help him with his plans. Braulio says yes he did but he turned out to be a traitor who played both sides. He was on one side and Silvano was on the other. Braulio explains that when they found out that Homero was getting an illegal loan that would be given to him in cash, he agreed with Misael that they should take advantage of Homero's turmoil and convince him to send Misael to Laredo to pick up the money. Ester states that coincided with their plan to go and buy the food truck. Braulio explains that the plan was for some thieves to attack the food truck and steal the money on the way back to Mexico City. He hired the thieves and also told them they were to kidnap Misael and to take him away in front of Iván and Margarita. Ester says that never happened. Braulio says no because greed got the better of Misael and he betrayed him without thinking about what the consequences could be.

11. Misael is being a loud mouth in his jail cell waiting for his lawyer. It turns out he does have a visitor but it is Julia. She cannot believe what he dared to do. He tells her to calm down. He admits he wasn't thinking but nothing happened to "junior" did it? She reminds him that he can be charged with attempted murder. She cannot understand how he didn't think . . . He tells her to put a lid on it. Did she come to humiliate him or make fun of him? She says no. She is hoping since he is now behind bars, his heart with soften a bit and he will tell her the truth about who caused the food truck accident. Who is his accomplice? He would rather hear how she and "junior' found the place where he was staying and was arrested. She says they didn't know but somebody informed the police. Misael says knows who the snitch is then. Julia decides to go since he won't tell her what she wants to know. He calls her back. Misael says since Braulio now has served him up to the police, he is gong to tell her everything that happened on the day of the accident.
 

VENCER Part 4

FLASHBACK: Margarita and Iván are in the Funes car with Misael. Iván asks if it wouldn't be better for the three of them to return the car together and then all come back to pick up the food truck. Misael says no. They are where they are going to pick up the truck already. While he goes back to return the car, they can look over the food truck to make sure everything is okay. Also with all the bags they have in the car, it is just going to make it harder. He says they can wait for him there and have a taco or something so they do not have to stop to eat on way back. Margarita says okay and she and Iván start unloading the car. Iván forgets his phone on the back seat of the car and his backpack in he trunk. Misael leaves.

Misael explains that he never set foot in the food truck. He thought that Margarita and Iván would spend another day in Laredo and eventually realize they didn't have a driver and were going to contact her that he hadn't reappeared. She asks how Iván's cellphone ended up inside his backpack. He says that Iván left the phone in the car so he threw it in his backpack. She asks who drove the truck. He says he found out about that several hours later.

12. Braulio tells Ester that when he found out that Misael had stood Margarita and Iván up, he supposedly was going to go with Homero and Angel to Laredo to intercept him with the money to return it but then he had a stroke of luck. Homero was in a bad way so he went alone. He tells Ester it wasn't planned as she circles him with the skillet in her hand. Misael was not communicating with him either. The guys who were going to attack the food truck called him to tell him that Misael hadn't arrived and that Margarita and Iván were there having to push back the time of the truck's departure. Braulio felt like he had no other choice but to meet up with the guys he had hired to find out what was going on. That was his first mistake.

FLASHBACK: Margarita and Iván are loading their things onto the food truck. Margarita has been leaving messages for Misael with no results. She is also having trouble getting a signal and her battery is almost dead. Iván says at least she has a cellphone. He doesn't know why they paid attention to what Misael wanted to do. She agrees. She doesn't want to start the truck to charge the phone because it is low on gas to begin with and they need to get to a gas station. Maybe the owner will let her charge it inside. She would like to let everyone at home know what is going on. They both laugh imagining what Ester's reaction would be. Iván thinks she would be all about how Misael cannot be depended on. Margarita says , unfortunately, she would be right about him. Iván is upset that his phone, backpack and tablet are gone. He says at least he can download all of his info from the cloud. Margarita says he is just like her little Rayo with that cloud business. Iván thinks that his mother is finally getting with it. He asks Margarita to tell his mother that he is missing his cellphone so she won't worry so much.
 

VENCER Part 5

Margarita keeps looking for a better signal not noticing Braulio in a parked car with his two "thieves" for hire at first. The two want to be paid. Braulio tells them they are not getting their money. They say a deal is a deal. He tells them they need to track down Misael. Braulio notices Margarita and she him. He gets out of the car and tells the guys to wait. She asks Braulio what he is doing there and who those two guys are. He says he will explain later. He angrily tells her that he just talked to Misael and he is not going to come. She asks who is going to drive them. What is going on? He tells her he will let her know on the way. She presumes it has to do with one of Braulio's "business deals" but asks if Homero sent him. The conversation goes no further when Iván appears who is surprised to see him. Braulio tells them not to look at him like they just saw a ghost. He tells them to get a move on and he will fill them in on everything when they are on the way. Before they get on the truck, he makes up a story about how the Funes company had an emergency trip that Misael had to make for them. Braulio just happened to be in town to take care of some business, that is why he was able to come. Margarita SMIRKS. He refuses to give Iván his cellphone to call his mother. He already talked to his wife. He told her not to mention anything to Julia so she isn't worried about Misael. Margarita tells Iván that Braulio is in a bad mood. Maybe Misael will see her messages before they get back. They all agree to get going.

13. Ester remarks that Margarita was suspicious of him. He agrees. She says that Margarita had worked with him for years at Funes. He explains that Margarita became aware of some of the deals that he was making under the table. Ester asks why she never turned him in. He explodes saying because he knew things about her too. He knew all about her relationship with Homero and her pregnancy. Ester cannot believe that he knew who Rayo's father was ail along but never said a thing. He agrees that he didn't. He adds that when he started to go out with Celeste it became more difficult for Margarita to pin anything on him because he knew so much he could use against her. Ester calls him a miserable person. He says everyone sees things in their own way. He says when Margarita left the Funes company, Homero didn't know she was pregnant or where she was. He used that to threaten her and that was that. She asks if Celeste ever suspected him of anything. He answers that he knows how to treat his wife. HIs phone rings and it is Celeste. Ester kicks the phone away.

14. Celeste is worried. She texts Braulio that she called but he didn't answer. She is assuming he is busy. She wants him to know that whatever happens , she is on his side. She tells him to text her when he can She loves him.
 

VENCER Part 6

15. As Ester stands behind Braulio, he tells her that he and Celeste love each other. Everything he did was for love. Ester tries to explain that being a manipulator and a sick controller isn't love. She asks what happened next. When he doesn't readily answer, she goes to get more duct tape for his mouth which prompts him to talk. He says he always knew how to hide the money he made. He always wanted to give Celeste a home worthy of her outside of the apartment complex she liked so much. She asks what about Margarita. Braulio says in the end it is hard to hide money. Margarita saw the gifts that he was giving to Celeste and suspected that he was still doing his own"business deals" She started pressuring him to come clean with Celeste. Easter concludes that he started threatening Margarita with telling Homero about Rayo. He says no, Margarita had already decided to tell Homero. The night before she left for the food truck, she left him a message threatening him to tell Celeste everything or she would do it herself when they got back from Laredo. Ester concludes that due to him, she never came back. Braulio starts to cry. He never knew that Margarita was going to die. He swears to that. He wanted to negotiate with her and maybe she would get a bit scared in the robbery. It all went to hell when Misael betrayed him and never arrived. He swears that is the truth.

FLASHBACK: The food truck is on the way back to Mexico City with Braulio driving. Margarita and Iván are napping. Braulio gets s call from Misael who is on a bus. He asks where Misael is. Misael only says that he told him that he was going to meet up with his family. He supposes that Braulio understands. No, Braulio doesn't. Braulio asks him why he doesn't have his cellphone on him like he always does and why he hasn't lived up to his word. Misael says when he saw all of that money together and he added up what was there, he realized that what Braulio wanted to give him was a miserly amount. So, he decided to end up with all of it. Braulio calls him a thief. Misael says no way. He was only taking advantage of an opportunity. Braulio would have done the same. He thanks Braulio for helping him get his life back and to have a chance to experience something he never would have without the money. Margarita starts to wake up and listen in. Braulio tells him they have to be reasonable. He thinks they can negotiate and arrive at some sort of agreement. He asks where Misael is. Misael says he already told him he was going to meet up with his family if nothing else to say goodbye to them. Braulio thinks he is going back to Mexico City. Misael says no. If Braulio wants to negotiate, he will have to find him first. He hangs up. Braulio calls him stupid.
 

VENCER Part 7

16. Back at the jail, Misael has just told Julia that Braulio was driving the truck. Julia is shocked. After talking to Braulio, Misael thought that Braulio would think he was planning on coming and getting her and Danny and taking them all to go live somewhere else. Misael had told him about a place in Querétero where he would like the three of them to live. Julia says he never really planned on doing that, did her? He says he did at first but then he thought he would go out and party and have a life he never imagined having before. That was after he found out that she had gotten pregnant to rope him into staying with her. Julia reminds him she has apologized for that. It doesn't justify what he did.She says he then went up to Padre Island to party and sent his cellphone down to Querétero to keep everyone off his trail. He agrees but he never stopped thinking about them. He didn't know whether to call her after hearing about the accident because he knew he would be to blame. He tried to help her from afar and lend her a hand by using the"sin filtros" identity. Julia calls him a coward and says the only reason he came back was that Silvano's men found him. Misael says that he knows that he no longer has a chance with her but when he gets out . . . She cuts him off telling him he won't be getting out soon between the charges for robbery she is sure will be coming with the money they found him with and the attempted murder on Angel. He is in no mood to hear about Angel and tells her again that nothing really happened to him. He says if they ask him about the money, the Funes family will be implicated in some dirty dealings. Julia says not like he will. Julia thinks it is better that she go and think about what she is going to tell their son about him. She leaves. The only thing she wants is for him to be sorry for the damage he has caused their son. She leaves.
17. Jero is on the food truck. He is worried because Ester has not answered any of his messages. He finally gets a message from her telling him she is going to be staying very late at work. He tries to text her back but she does not respond. He thinks that is odd.

18. Back at the warehouse, Ester asks Braulio if he caused the accident or not. He says of course not. He would be crazy to put himself at that kind of risk.He only wanted to catch up to Misael.
 

VENCER Part 8

FLASHBACK: The problem started when Margarita realized that he was changing direction and started to complain about it. It was her fault. She wanted to know why they turned around. Was he talking to Misael or one of the criminals he money launders his money from the Funes company with? She is next to him while he is driving and says that she didn't want to say anything before in front of Iván. He asks why she is doing so now. Iván is still sleeping. Braulio says to leave him alone. She says fine and when they get back to Mexico, he is going to tell Celeste where his money comes from or she will do it herself. He tells her not to threaten him. She is not afraid of him. She says he was lucky she aws quiet before but now poor Celeste is going to find out the truth about the guy she married. He tells her to go ahead and tell Celeste her version. If she tells her, Julia and Ester, they are going to find out she is a traitor and a nobody. Margarita is sure they will support her. Braulio says, of course, they will support her after her not saying anything for fifteen years. She tries to grab for Braulio's phone. Iván wakes up. Braulio and Margarita fight over the phone. Braulio is having a hard time controlling the truck. He loses control and they crash off the road into a tree. Margarita stumbles off the truck and collapses on the ground. She tries to grab the phone which is out of her reach. Braulio looks at Iván who seems to be unconscious. He grabs his suit coat and leaves. Braulio assures that Margarita's phone is out of her reach by kicking it.

Ester cannot believe that Braulio is such a miserable person that he could leave her son while was still alive. Braulio says she wanted to hear what happened and now he has told her. He starts to cry again. He tells Ester that it was an accident. She agrees and he was responsible for it. She is going to make sure that he pays dearly for what he has done. He tells her not to waste any of their time. He says she cannot prove a thing. She brings up the bloody gauze. She asks if that was his second mistake. He says that they were going to keep the money in a room that Misael had rented to entertain his lovers. He had given him a key. After the accident, he had some superficial wounds. When he heard that Julia and Angel were looking for Misael, he tried to get them off trail by sending them there. He didn't notice that the gauze had been left behind. He thought that when Julia found out that her husband had been entertaining women in that room, she would stop looking for him. He didn't want to run the risk that they would find Misael before he did and that Misael would betray him again. He asks Ester if she is satisfied now. Is she? Ester picks up the fyinng pan. Braulio asks what she is going to do. She smiles. She doesn't know whether to leave him there like he did to Iván or to kill him with "sartenazos" (blows with frying pan)like a cockroach.

19. Flavia is rushing home when the neighbor tells her that she saw something strange. Ester was driving Braulio's car.

20. Celeste is in the nursery looking worried. She gets an unwelcome text reminder of an appointment with her MS doctor. Celeste goes to her brother that she needs him more than ever now but she doesn't send it. She thinks about Braulio telling her he would never let her go. She tries calling him again but there is no answer. She texts him that she hasn't heard from him. She is concerned . She is going to the Funes company to see him.
 

VENCER Part 9

21. Angel walks home with Julia and Gina. Gina goes on ahead. Angel says he still doesn't know how Braulio was capable of all that. Julia hopes that Misael testifies against him. Angel still feels like anything could happen so he is going to hire a lawyer to make sure things are handled correctly.

22. Jero appears. Angel is on the phone. Jero tells Julia he is worried about Ester. She seems severely depressed. Angel gets off the phone and asks If Jero knows where Ester is. It turns out she isn't at the Funes company like she told him. She was supposed to turn over keys to a warehouse but never did. Flavia appears and Jero asks her if she has heard from Ester. Flavia says no but a neighbor saw her with Braulio in his car. Celeste appears and wants to know what is going on.

23. Brualio tells Ester, with her trusty frying pan in her hands, that if she kills him, she will end up in jail. She knows that. She is not like him, she is conscious of and responsible for her acts. Braulio screams no and falls over. As Ester raises the frying above her head and starts to lower it , Jero yells for her to stop. She stops and turns to look. He is there with Angela and Julia.

"There is sorrow that is so intense that it tests us as human beings and it is in these crises that the real person we are starts to show."

While the episode soared to new heights and then plummeted to dangerous lows, it paled in comparison to your incredibly detailed, on the edge of your seat, phenomenal recap.

Your inspired rendition of this penultimate episode had us “cruising at 36,000 ft. still seated with a securely fastened seatbelt.” You laid out what transpired with meticulous care and immaculate detail. You saw and conveyed all of the raw emotions with crystal clear clarity, heart-wrenching in their realization. Speculation and suspicion now cast aside with (mostly) terrible truths laid bare.

Braulio is the evil creature we suspected all along. Grasping, greedy, groping Misael was not a surprise. But for others, what we saw with our minds and hearts was far more disturbing.

The most chilling words for me were Ester’s telling Braulio “She is not like him, she is conscious of and responsible for her acts”. I believe her. And I also believe if Jero had not miraculously arrived in time, she would have gravely wounded or killed Braulio. Will the charge be kidnapping, attempted murder or even more unbelievable will there be no charge at all? I don’t believe there can be forgiveness when there is no acknowledgement that harm was done and/or when there is a complete lack of remorse.

“Stone-faced” Flavia opines “Her best intentions ended up in an abundance of love that ended up smothering him”. Huh?? Smothering?? The woman couldn’t even bring herself to look at Teo let alone talk to or comfort him. At least Max was honest about his failures as a father. Teo should live with Angel, Mirna and Rayo until the three complete intense therapy.

I guess there are a million and ONE uses for duct tape.

Thanks, Jarifa, you did an amazing job of capturing all the events. I was totally confused when watching it so am happy to have everything explained to me with so much detail.

Although I loved Ester hitting Braulio on the head I wasn’t so happy with what she had planned for afterwards. Very thankful she didn’t kill him.

I feel that Margarita really caused the accident when she started fighting with Braulio. But we never really knew Margarita and learned more about her after the accident.

So someone turned Misael in. I don’t think it was Braulio because Misael could bring Braulio down easily, which I’m hoping will happen Monday. But don’t know who could have turned him in.

I hope Flavia hasn’t gotten off so easy. Although she never really did anything criminal. She still deserves some punishment.

It looks like Celeste is going to stick with Braulio and support him through all this. Hopefully the murder of AnaSofia’s dad will be answered on Monday.

Thanks so much, Jarifa. Between the flashbacks and both men telling their stories I was pretty clueless about what happened.

This one had so much dialogue that I had to listen carefully and still wasn't completely sure I understood correctly. It's nice these recaps are here. Jerifa, where did you learn Spanish to such a high level
I can't say I? 'd have been sorry if Ester had killed Braulio. But it's better that he gets to enjoy prison time. He prevented Margarita from getting help. But then it amazes me she started fighting with him over that phone when she could have talked to Celeste later. I have a feeling that if she had lived and had told them the truth, she would have realised they weren't such great friends because those friends didn't really look after her daughter
Does Braulio mean to say Celeste is from a rich family? Or is that comment about giving her a life worthy of her is just because he wants her to live in a bigger house?
Flavia really hasn't learnt anything. She ignored Teo for so long and even when she didn't, I don't remember her being particularly loving. She just insisted he had to study. But maybe I've started confusing her with Ester.
So misael had no plans of showing up. And then he goes on aboutJulia having something with angel and how she can't do it. I was confused about that 'after he learnt she got pregnant bit'. Did he mean that he went to party after he learnt this or something else?
Even the prison will make no difference to these two. Neither of them is sorry for what they did, not sorry enough to have confessed earlier. Braulio can talk all he wants about how he didn't mean it. But he even tries to offer excuses.
Has anyone ever used a frying pan in one of those intense scenes in a telenovela? I find it amusing somehow. No explosions or burning buildings, just a pan.

" I do not think that there was anything wrong with Ester's mental state here at all which made it so much the more disturbing. I thought she needed help when she was obsessing about her grandson but not when she is threatening to bash Braulio's head in. Braulio was to blame for the situation that ended up with him driving the truck but Margarita was the one responsible for the accident. Also, they cut a whole scene with how Iván put his backpack and iPad in the trunk of the car. It was at Misael's direction so the car wouldn't be so crowded. Then when Misael took off on is own, Iván forgot to get his backpack out of the trunk. He complained to Margarita about why they did what Misael wanted them to do. They were pretty good with this one usually just cutting out comical scenes at Julia's house. Ah, duct tape. " I guess there are a million and ONE uses for duct tape." Yes!!!



waterlily. I am so glad that the recaps have been helpful. I will just say that I have been "Spanishing" for as long as I can remember.
That being said, this was probably the most difficult episode I ever recapped due to all of the conversation with so many details necessary to having the story make sense. I won't even tell you how many hours I spent on this. I think that Braulio has always been looking to give Celeste the best he could afford because she deserves it in his mind. He may be a jerk, but he loves her. As for Misael, his plans evidently changed when Julia stupidly admitted to him (she should have lied like a rug when he overheard her) that she had gotten pregnant to trap him into staying with her. When he heard that, he had no use for her and decided that he wanted to go out partying and live a life where he only had to please himself. As for the frying pan, I have never seen anything like it. It has made me laugh more than once.

Liz, thank you for the kind comments. It is great to hear that the recap was useful to you because this episode seemed like a couple of episodes stuffed into one. It was one of those recaps where I felt like I was writing forever. "I feel that Margarita really caused the accident when she started fighting with Braulio. But we never really knew Margarita and learned more about her after the accident. " Margarita always was a mystery and it seems she is going to remain one. I couldn't believe how stupid she was fighting with the driver of a vehicle while the vehicle was in motion let alone on a curvy mountain road. Something was amiss in that noggin. "Hopefully the murder of AnaSofia’s dad will be answered on Monday." I had a clue yesterday when I saw a certain character's shoes but I will say no more. : ) Yes, Flavia deserves an anvil beyond losing her porcelain bell collection.

Apologies for being so late to this party' I've been under the weather for the past few days and and just now feeling more energized. I agree with Diana, "Everyone made such astute observations and comments..." Thank you all so much for such insightful comments!

And it seems that I did fail to paste a scene that had some of you questioning what the children's punishment was, so here it is--

The children are now seated in a meeting room with their parents and the school dircector. Bully’s mother yells that Chema is a savage! And her son is a godly child! She yells that Chema should not be there; commoners like this woman (Amparo) and this child (Chema) don’t deserve to be in this school! Dani stands and tells the director that there is no reason for the woman to be so classist and rude; there must be a good reason why her daughter and Chema fought with Icker (mistake #1: Isa was not fighting!). Once again, Dani (futilely) asks Iker what happened. Of course he denies doing anything. Isa cries that Iker is a liar; he was bothering them! Chema adds that Iker was pulling on his cousin and said he was going to throw her in the trash! The director suspends the kids for 3 days (mistake #2: Isa was the victim!); and when Amparo complains, the director states that Chema, who is there due to a scholarship, should follow the rules! If this happens again, he will lose his scholarship and be indefinitely expelled!

Sebastian was indeed out of control. Diana, "He knows full well what and who Este is and he would never have acted like a madman if there weren’t strong residual feelings for her. What happened to “bros first” Sebastian?" is exactly right!

Darcy, "It was really unfair to suspend Isa from school for that incident! She didn't do anything. She was picked on and didn't even fight back, how does she end up suspended?" My question too! And yes, Fausto did take advantage of that...quite unfair and cruel.

Liz, "Poor Chema, I hate the messages his father is giving him." Mac is horrendous! He may have not murdered anyone, but manipulating Chema the way he is puts him just at about the same level as Fausto.

Waterlily, "I'm surprised Daniela doesn't realise Fausto deliberately picked a punishment that would hurt Isabela." Actually I think she did. What I question is that she told Fausto that he was hurting her daughter and she was not going to allow. Then she tells Isa that her fatehr probably won't change the punishment...so she is allowing Fausto to hurt her daughter???

Niecie, "Sebas and JP handled Este like morons..." Can we put that in capital letters? Thye've been morons since the day Este showed up!

Urban, your character analysis is spot on! And I agree, Loreta (thank you for the name) is at the same level as Yolanda.

Jarifa, your recap is truly remarkable. The emotions are so raw and the details so strong that I've been spellbound reading your coverage of Friday's episode. Muchísimas gracias for all your work. It is just incredible.

I certainly don't want to be beaned with a frying pan. But since Ester didn't use a gun or knife on Braulio, I hope a judge will be lenient with her and order her into therapy and supervised home detention.

Braulio left Ivan and Margarita and didn't even call 911 when he could've. Kicking the phone away from Margarita and nastiness to Rayo and Ester after his crimes shows that Braulio deserves no mercy.

Flavio has the delusion that her problem was she smothered Teo with love? That lady always manages to put herself on top no matter what.

Sad seeing Ivan so alive and upbeat chatting and laughing with Margarita. Then Braulio kicks Margarita's phone away, comes back to town, and go about his merry greedy way. He should rot behind bars.

Gracias, Jarifa, for all the details of this episode and the translations. I don't know why but sometimes I get the sound of the music competing too heavily with the dialogue and that is particularly annoying if an actor is crying or shouting.

Braulio has much to answer for. As for whether his comment about Celeste, we probably will never get the answer to Waterlily's question. Her look and manner made me speculate on whether she had been born to some level of privilege above most of the people in that nabe and that was why Flavia was less toxic to her than to Julia.

Flavia was so much more toxic to Ester by comparison and thought she had scored a "gotcha" when having the affair with Max, but Flavia's presumption is her own worst enemy. She still doesn't realize this. She is a classic example of a High Society Wanna-Be who ends up presenting herself exactly as such. She doesn't have the edge that Ana Sofi has over her in that, but is as insecure as she is.

I think most of us knew Misael intended to disappear from Julia's life. This probably would have made it more difficult for her to divorce him. He likes inflicting pain; his definition of machismo demands it.

Niecie, thank you for your kind comments. ITA that a knife or a gun should trump a frying pan. Some of us thought it had to be cast iron but it looked like a regular non-stick which means that Ester really had to smack Braulio hard in the first place to have knocked him out. I wonder if he will be reluctant to press charges against Ester considering all she knows about his dirty dealings. I cannot wait to see how it all plays out.

Urban, the dialogue in this one hasn’t been the clearest especially at the end of sentences for me anyway. Great analysis of Flavia and her upper class longings and insecurity and also of Misael and his penchant for cruelty.
