Hey all! Thank you for your feedback on Monday's recap. I was taking advantage of the days off to do some other stuff and forgot to comment sooner. We are back today and I just watched the episode. I think I already forgot most of it because there wasn't much forward movement. Let's see what I do remember.

Mariluz somehow figured out that Lisardo was in Mexico? I didn't catch how she figured this but she's now headed to Tijuana to find her childhood love. First she had to get past mom's overprotectiveness and treated her like a 10 year old. Lupe even tried in vain to say 'NO' and finally both mom and grandma tried to come with. Finally Mari herself points out how crazy it is that they bought her a plane ticket so she could travel to Europe alone but now they are throwing a fit over the idea of her going to Tijuana.

Poor little rich boy Rod decides that he likes the attention mommy and daddy are finally giving him, but they are off to do who knows what the second he's home from the hospital so he makes a plan to get his car stolen in the hood to get more attention?? This goes very wrong however and Rod is about to get jumped by some thugs when Adrian and Co unfortunately rescue his dumbass and chase off the thugs. Belen apparently has a fake gun for protection!?! PSA - don't try this at home! Definitely DO NOT try this! Not even the fact that they saved his ass is enough to convince Rod to back off of Adrian. Emma taped Rod admitting he tried to manufacture a car jacking for attention and offered to trade the recording for Rod dropping the charges against Adrian and paying for Gus's therapy but Rod was unmoved....this creep is unbelievable, Em should just post the vid and let it go to court. Rod's admission of staging one crime should be good evidence for their defense that he staged the fight.

And then we have all the fall out of the Damian-Domi-Sam triangle and I am so disgusted by the fact that there is STILL a triangle that I will some it up like this: Sam is wasting his time dwelling on Domi and he needs to go find/rescue Selena, Damian is stupid for trying to 'give' Domi to Sam because he's got a better heart and Damian can't make her happy - love doesn't work like that. Domi seems genuinely torn and I think it's because she wants to want the goodness she admires in Sam, but she doesn't. I've been there, there was a guy once that I really WANTED to be attracted to but try as I might I just couldn't feel something I didn't feel.

I think Vicky learned that daddy did sign the power of attorney but the signature was made under duress...I say think, because I got a little bored here and my mind wandered, but I'm pretty sure that was the gist of it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
 

Guerrero. Welcome back, Darcy! Thank you for your brief but perceptive as usual recap. I too was a bit disappointed that even though we had to wait 2 days for it, not much happened of any importance. Evidently Lisardo's "charitable" organization is visiting Tijuana. Sure. Rod is so creepy. Neglectful parents or not, he deserves to be punished. Yep, the handwriting expert found that Vicki's father had signed that will/power of attorney under duress. Hope today's episode has more meaningful action!
 

Corazón Guerrero - Capítulo 89 - Part 1 of 4

Hey, Patio. Long time no compare notes. Missed ya’ll.

Today’s action begins with Frida and Diego and a hurt foot @ the cemetery. Diego tells Frida his dad rests there. She sorta dodges his question about her reasons for being there.

The kids are frantic. The warrant for Adrián (and his stoopid earring) is legit. Emma pitifully flings herself at Adrián, but the guards shoo her away. Rodrigo magically shows up and renounces. The non-returnable anvil better have already shipped.

Diego backs off questioning Frida to protect their pact. He helps her stand, and she’s magically cured. He leaves, and she’s breathless. She was on the brink of telling him everything!

At the Ruíz Montalvo manse, Vic is demanding to know how Augi could force her pops to sign over everything. He says pops was not a child when he signed. Does she think he put a gun to his head and forced him to sign? Fun fact: it was actually a knife. She’s not convinced and tells him she now believes he’s capable of anything. Bad move. She reaches for the bottle, and Augi LIES LIES LIES. He actually claims pops was afraid…of ELISA!

The aforementioned threat is now talking to Octavio’s headstone. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Rodrigo remains condescending to the parentally-challenged kids. Jr. Lawyer Laura gives him Gus’s info and expects him to hold up his end of the bargain (paying for rehab). Oracle Emma wisely tells Rod she isn’t erasing the video until he proves Gus is taken care of. Adrián thanks Laura - sending Emma’s panties into an epic twist. She stalks off.

As Mariluz is about to board her flight, Augi is asking Jesús to go to Tijuana and bring back Lisardo! All he has to do is bring Lisardo to the airport; Augi’s men will handle the rest. Oh, and they have to come up something clever to tell Carloca. Augii officially declares Jesús his right-hand-man. 1OO% Ruíz-Montalvo, and he better not forget it. LOL. Soon he will learn about all of his wheeling & dealing!

A beat-down Fede demands to know what Carloca was thinking - paying the ransom with a bunch of papers. She blames him for sticking around and being a chatty Cathy. LOL He says now Augi & Jesús will find out about her and Iker. She cooly says no - the blackmailers have no proof. Right on cue she gets a copy of the voicemail where Iker spills all the frijoles. Fashion Alert: It should be noted that Fede is wearing some very cool striped pants!

Don Abel urges Jesús to make things right. Damián will take him to the airport to track down Mariluz.
 

Corazón Guerrero - Capítulo 89 - Part 2 of 4

Doménica and Samu are at adult school. He’s acting weird and she calls him out. Did Damián order him to avoid her? Actually Damián told Samu he would no longer with Doménica. He immediately feels bad for making her sad. She says she’s going to find Emma, but she really just exits to cry and say Damián no longer loves her. She’s lost him. Whomp. Whomp.

Fede shrewdly tells Carloca she’s on her own. She takes the bait and says she’ll pay the rest. She will give him anything in exchange for Iker Sr.’s cell phone. His demand: help him win back Augi. It’s a deal. They will go to the bank, and she should know the blackmailers now want even more money!

Back from bank Carloca tells Augi she ran into Fede at the bank (LOL) and asks Augi if he just might consider giving Fede another chance. She’s good. He agrees(!) but guarantees nothing!

Mariluz is in the middle of nowhere with a dead phone. Jesús (in full Lisardo costume - now with a cross and some groovy beads) has rented a car and drives off to find her. She shares her sandwich with an apparent orphan (don’t tell Rodrigo). Someone is filming her from a distance with a cellphone.

Adrián, Belén, and Sergio visit Gus and tell him his rehab is all taken care of. He’s glad, but the only dark cloud now is Emma’s anger. Gus picks up on this pattern.

Cantankerous Emma and Doménica are painting. Emma tells her sister she should give Damián another chance. She can’t trust him; is that asking too much?

Valero, Samu, and Damián are garage-ing when Jesús gets an urgent message on his laptop. Damián opens it. “I’ve gotten the missing information in V.P.’s case. It wasn’t easy, Brother, but here it comes.” They get instantly territorial. Who else calls Jesús “Brother?” Valero figures out VP is Victoriano Peñalver.

It looks like Elisa has been busy (cutting up more magazines). Fede finds a note in Augi’s office that says, “Augi is the real killer of VP, and we’ll prove it!” Fede is not shocked.

Samu and Damián are trying to decipher more from Jesús’ email, but Valero tells them they need to respect Jesús’ property as they all know how he gets! LOL

Augi enters his office and demands to know what Fede is up to. Fede pleads his case. He offers to find out who’s behind the anonymous threats. Augi has a little job for him, and then they’ll talk. He wants him to take care of Damián Guerrero
 

Corazón Guerrero - Capítulo 89 - Part 3 of 4

The scene switches to Mommy Dearest who is sniffing around and trying to figure out what is rotten in Denmark! It’s Emma. She’s been painting all day at the adult school. MD is gagging (literally) and says she needs alcohol(!). MD will help Emma de-funk. Surly Girl is thrilled by this.

Carloca shows up at the garage looking for Jesús. Damián & Valero aren’t quite sure what to tell her.

Ruh oh. Adrián sneaks into Emma’s (empty) room. He brazenly goes into a bathroom where she’s in a bubble bath. MD is on her way back, and he jumps into the bath with Emma!!! Woah.

MD comes in, and Emma shoos her away claiming Maximum Zen. MD leaves, and Adrian comes up for air. The scene is cute until a dead horse also joins the tub. Is anything going on with Adrián and Laura? He says no for the 199th time. They kiss.

It’s nighttime over at “Tijuana, B.C.” Mariluz is trying to help her new friend find her parents at a shelter. Lisardo is at a cafe and reports that Mariluz has not shown up and is not answering his calls. He will search all shelters all night if necessary. He will call Carloca, but he needs to know what they (Damián + Valero) told her so his story checks out.

Someone is searching the (earlier) shelter for Lisardo Sánchez. It’s a women’s shelter and there is no Lisardo there. Inside, Mari is charging her phone and checking in with Las García. Her little friend is sleeping.

Lisardo shows up at the shelter and describes Mariluz. The front desk says such a person showed up but with child. Note: I kinda like Jesus’ Lisardo voice. It’s quite the affectation. LOL

Patty-Cake is telling Augi that Villalba will bring Lupe to their next function as the two are so in love. Ruh oh. Augi wants the details: Patricio says, “Ask Villalba.” LOL

Villalba is asking Lupe to accompany him, but she’s unsure as she doesn’t want to leave Conchita alone for so many days. Villalba admits Augi got in his head when he told him he and Guadalooselips had been kissing, etc. Lupe looks mega uncomfortable.

Augi calls someone and demands that the shareholders/landowners go on strike right now at any cost. That will keep Villalba from taking his Lupe away.

Guadalupe tries to clear the air, but Patty-Cake calls and tells him there’s a landowner strike. Villalba will leave right away. After all, there’s nothing keeping him in the city. Ouch. He can’t just say bye, can he? No. He leaves saying, “Of all the frosts, silence is the most cruel.” I don’t get it either. BYE, VILLALBA!

Belén & Sergio are practicing some fierce moves for the next dance off. Adrian watches Emma (live on social media) gush about Sebastián and PSA-ing for self-defense. He’s not amused.

Samu enters his adult school and has flashbacks to his Doménica fantasy. He gets a big round of applause for the school’s transformation.

There is a rose and a note in Doménica’s room. His life is trash without her (paraphrased). He wants to talk. Anytime. Any place. He loves her. She looks out the window and sees his big puppy dog eyes and prayer hands(!). She rushes out to meet him. All of a sudden a blonde in a tight dress shows up asking Damián for help. He lets her in the garage and we see Fede grinning. Damián has fallen into his trap.

Little Orphaned Annie’s mom shows up to claim her in the morning. Are there no Child Abandonment/Endangerment laws in Tijuana, B.C.? Either way, Mariluz greets the negligent mother, and Lisardo sends a long text message

Get your telenovela bingo cards ready. Damián prepares the blond skank some tea. She can’t drink it because it has sugar. He will make her another one. While his back is turned, she reaches into her purse. I just paused the TV for two reasons. It’s super obvious what’s about to happen AND Doménica must be CRAWLING over to the garage. He’s had all this time to play host?!! RESUME. She reaches into her purse and pulls out some potion to add to the drink. I’ll bet ya’ll 1OO pesos that it’s not Funky Cold Medina.

Opera Man is reading details of Victoriano’s last days to Elisa. She is racking her brains to remember details of those final days. At the end, VP told her to look for a box. Said box held the whole truth. Coincidentally, Vic is now clutching a box. Elisa remembers he mentioned the box and the tree of life. What do you know? Vic is about to open a box with a tree on it!!! Vic’s crying. Why didn’t VP tell VP that Elisa wanted to kill him?!?

Damián and Blondie toast and drink their tea. Still no sign of Doménica. Ugh.

Lisardo and Mariluz meet in a field. They hug. Their song plays. She recognizes Lisardo despite the beard and glasses. She kisses him! Please please please let his beard get caught up in her necklace or something and come off! LOL

Opera Man and Elisa think the Tree of Life box may be at the big tree at the farm which she painted and where she also found her son (flashback to Jesús). They head back to the farm to find it.

The beard stays on. Lisardo says he cannot give her false hope. She feels like they were never separated. Two of Augi’s goons are watching. They take pics and send them to Augi. Their orders are to wait for Jesús Guerrero to arrive (LOL) and not let Lisardo escape. Augi wants Lisardo alive and they better leave Mari out of it. Now Augi is breathless with rage and stabs Elisa’s letter with Octavio’s knife!!!

Mari is so proud of Lisardo’s mission and contributions to society. She’s not asking him for anything. She knows his mission is a priority. He beats the same dead horse that Jesús always does. The twist: he tells her to trust Jesús blah blah blah. Augi calls and interrupts - ranting and raving. Lisardo steps away to take the call. Augi’s people are in place and the trap is set. Where in the world is Jesús? LOL. Lisardo tells Mari he is danger. She should leave and never look back! She does.

The goons watch her leave and then attack! Mariluz forgets her assignment and looks back. She sees Lisardo being accosted and runs to defend him. A struggle ensues, and she’s knocked to the ground and hits her head on a rock.

Thank you O.S for another magical and hilarious recap! I so look forward to your wit!!!

I totally agree with: 'The non-returnable anvil better have already shipped.' I would be so pissed if Rod got redeemed - but it seems he isn't sorry just blackmailed! I totally get why Emma is upset this time. Why is everyone thanking Laura as if she made the difference? There was a lot of talk about how Laura saved the day, but did she? I think it may have been her idea to get Rod to pay for Gus's therapy but Rod did it because Emma recorded him and then Emma blackmailed him! From where I'm sitting it kind of seems like Emma saved the day.... not that I care or think it's worth fighting about but it bugs me for two reasons: 1) I don't like Laura and this new near hero worship of how wonderful and talented she is is annoying, I haven't seen any proof that she's capable of anything other than trying to steal someone else's boyfriend and b) it paints Emma by all her friends, as this whinny immature person who is just insecure and imagining things when in reality she's got a point and Laura is trying to manipulate and steal Adrian.

Speaking of Adrian WTH did he jump in the bathtub?? I mean, it was funny which is probably why, but there were lots of other places to hide, like the shower! LOL Jumping in the tub was just weird!!!

I wonder who else calls Jesus brother...

I was so annoyed when Jesus went to TJ AS LISARDO!! I expected him to go as Jesus and be there when Mari ended up disappointed about being unable to find Lisardo....this continuation of the façade is so much worse!!! Not to mention stupid, Jesus knows Augi is looking for Lisardo and he KNOWS Augi, does he really expect there to be no back-up or trap? They should have hit Jesus in the head he needs the sense knocked into him!!!

I just can't with Damian and Domi right now....I like the characters but all this childish back and forth and triangle with Sam is unappealing. I can't even comment on the trap because we all know what is going to happen, I guess the one thing I can say is I'm glad Fede is not trying to kill Damian which is what I thought would happen when Augi said to take care of him. I guess Fede is creative enough to think of ways to 'take care of' someone without murdering them, who knew?

O/T - Jesus is a horrible galan but sadly he's not the worst on the market right now. Alejandro on Cabo (nighttime Uni) is much much worse, I'd like to drown that one. It's pretty bad when you are watching the 'hero' of the tale and thinking 'he should have died in that plane crash on ep 1!' It's scary how more and more of these heroes are being portrayed lately, is integrity, honesty, and just common goodness not attractive anymore? It honestly scares me to think some young women could be watching these shows and saying to themselves I want to meet a guy like that!
 

Guerrero. Excellent recap, O.S. I had so missed yours and Darcy's. Good for Laura and Emma for holding Rod's feet to the fire. Emma seems foolishly jealous of Laura, though I agree, Laura gets more credit than she is due, Darcy. It's way too hard to believe that even if Mariluz doesn't recognize Jesus's face in costume, she also doesn't recognize his voice, and isn't able to tell it's him when she hugs him--build, odor, etc. My beanie hat is not large enough for this. Oh oh! Is Damian's life in danger? Apparently not, just his reputation. Now he joins Emma as a victim of drugging. Hmm. We aren't shown exactly how the small orphan's mother finds her.
