Corazon Guerrero – Capitulo 105 – Part 1 of 4

Domi comes into the kitchen and asks Mica if there is any news about Jesus. Mica drops the bomb on Domi that Carloca poisoned Jesus. She and Valero saw on the video where Carloca brought Jesus the smelly strawberries. Vicky is right outside the front door and overhears them talking. She flashes back to Carloca in the kitchen cooking up her strawberry surprise.

Carloca wants out of the institution – she isn’t crazy, she doesn’t belong there. Why doesn’t anyone believe her? Augi tries to calm her but Loca says he’s a liar like Jesus. Launches into her 4000th I need Jesus, I’ll die without him speech…. Augi promises Jesus will never leave her and wants to know where she got the poison.

Once alone in her office, the doctor reads Augi the riot act for lying and enabling Carloca’s fantasy’s rather than telling her the truth. She tells him that Carloca will never get better until she learns to accept reality. Augi needs to be strong enough to tell her the truth.

Vicky, drunk and crazy is mumbling about whether or not Carloca would be capable of killing Jesus. Em approaches Rod and basically tells him she’s willing to be his girlfriend since she has to try to get over Adrian. She can’t promise to be all loving or anything and it might take time but she’s willing to give it a shot, oh boy. MD comes in throwing a fit and tries to throw everyone out. She is looking crazier than Carloca and mumbling incoherently, while trying to drink straight from the bottle. Em tries to stop mommy from drinking but Vicky gets violent. She doesn’t throw a bottle directly at Em but the shattering glass cuts her anyway.

Selena tells Mari that Jesus isn’t doing well and the boys show up to confirm he flatlined twice already and the doctors are doing everything they can to save him. Valero mentions they brought all of Jesus’s most precious items and that having the stuff near him could be helpful. Maybe they could read to him? Mari eyes Valero’s bag with intent. The doctors won’t allow that, only the brothers are allowed to see him but Mari wants to see him, she asks Damian and Sam to help her sneak past the nurses and they agree. On her way out the door, she sneaks her hand in the bag and grabs Jesus’s man diary!!

Once everyone else leaves, Valero launches into a way too complicated, Valero-like dramatic ask of a favor from Selena. Sele is reluctant because she needs to get back to the club but Valero is desperate and convinces her by saying it’s very very important to the Guerreros. I didn’t understand at all what Valero was alluding to but next thing we know Selena is plying Adrian with 100 cups of coffee so myself solved. Selena’s assignment is to sober Adrian up before anyone gets more upset.

Domi comes to Emma’s defense but Vicky couldn’t care less about hurting Emma. This time Domi confronts directly MD’s horrible treatment of Emma and says no mother should treat her daughter the way MD treats Em and she had better stop because if MD ever hurts Em again they are leaving! She’ll take Emma and they’ll leave this house and Mommy will never see either one of them again. This sends drunk MD on a ‘you’re going to abandon me too? No one loves me rant.’ Yawn.

Selena tells Adrian he’s too young to struggle with alcohol and Adrian tells her that he needs sympathy. He’s really struggling! Jesus is more than a cousin to him, he’s like his father! Adrian wishes Jesus was his father, he’d be a much better father then the dark man! Selena’s ears perk up and Adrian tells her all about the rape, how his mom called him ‘hombre obscuro’ and all about the black buttery on his neck. Selena definitely is connecting dots but she asks Adrian if he knows the name of that man and he says he doesn’t.

Fede too is putting the pieces together. He’s jumping to all the right conclusions and seems much smarter today than the average Fede. He clicks off the conclusions: Adrian is his son. The Guerrero’s are the Sanchez’s, he even Jesus is Lisardo. The only question left is: where is Elisa?

Domi bandages up Emma who is just worried about Mommy. They talk about getting help for mom’s alcoholism and I had to stop listening I just find Emma unwavering devotion to her abuser so disturbing.

Elisa is now Elisa and not Elias for some reason. She is at Jesus’s bedside talking to him and flashing back to her memories of him as a child when Mari comes in. She sees and recognizes Elisa and Elisa admits she’s Jesus’s mom but Mari doesn’t believe her. She first knew her as a painter, then as Lisardo’s mother and now she’s claiming to be the Guerrero’s mother? Mari doesn’t know what she’s up to but she won’t let her take advantage of Jesus! Before she can get any further in her outrage, Damian and Sam arrive and confirm she’s their mother. The boys tell mom they thought it would be good for Mari to talk to Jesus and she immediately agrees it’s perfect. Jesus needs to hear the voice of his one true love. Mari should stay and talk with Jesus and they explain everything later. All but Mari file out and Mari starts chatting away with Jesus as if the drama moments ago didn’t happen. The dialog is the same predictable ‘I love you but it’s impossible’ mess but the interesting is that Mari suddenly gets dizzy…. She decides it's just because she hasn’t eaten all day but I think we are officially on novela pregnancy watch!

Concha and Abel come home to an empty house. Concha wants to go help Lupe in the Pozoleria and Abel wants her to rest. Lupe comes in before they can settle this issue and Lupe is wondering why they are back a week early, but she goes on and on and before they can answer she decides that they returned because they heard about Jesus. Abel of course had no idea about Jesus and is alarmed, he wants to go to the hospital right away and Concha insists of going with him. They argue about this briefly but it quickly turns into the really cute discussion about who will drive. Concha is the winning driver.

Mari continues to tell Jesus everything we’ve heard 1000 times about their star-crossed love. He squeezes her hand so she figures he can hear her but he’s not waking yet.

 

Corazon Guerrero – Capitulo 105 – Part 3 of 4

Rod makes a video announcing he is officially dating Emma! Emma is emptying the house of alcohol to force sobriety on mama. Adrian now only marginally more sober, tells Valero that he remembers kissing Laura but doesn’t know why, he’s still so in love with Emma. He wants to call her. He gets out his phone and accesses Rod’s announcement video instead.

Damian asks Elisa about telling Mari the truth and Elisa says Damian should tell Domi the truth too, all these lies are ruining their hearts and it’s time to be honest.

Domi shows up on cue and is about to tell Damian that Carloca poisoned Jesus but the doctor shows up and lies about Jesus having a viral infection. I guess Augi convinced him to hide the poisoning and Domi decides not to accuse Carloca after all since she believes the doctor that it’s a viral infection. They next talk about Damian’s mom and when he doesn’t answer Domi’s questions right away she goes straight to asking whether or not he lied about finding his mom. This starts the dead horse distrust conversation but this time, Damian brings Domi to meet his mom. Damian tells Elias that he’s decided to take her advice and Elisa agrees and removes her fake mustache and introduces herself to Domi saying she’s going to trust her since her son does, but she has very strong reasons for hiding her identity and her very life is in play here. Left alone, Domi and Damian talk about trust again. Domi tries to apologize but Damian walks away.

Mari reads the man dairy to Jesus, she’s starting to believe their love isn’t impossible after all.

Domi and Selena talk. Domi wants to ask about the bruises she saw on Selena the last time she saw her but Selena doesn’t think Domi is the princess of kindness she pretends to be or that she actually cares about her. Domi thinks Selena is being unfair but Selena calls her out on her treatment of Sam. Domi can chant ‘just friends’ all day long but she knows Sam is in love with her and she still hangs out with him, buddies up to him and works with him in all her projects. Sam is never going get over Domi while he’s constantly around her. If Domi really cared about Sam she would stay away from him so he could have a chance at being happy.

Sam and Damian have a touching brotherly chat. Sam feels like he’s stupid and useless. Jesus saved him but he can’t save Jesus. He isn’t smart like his brothers and he just wants Jesus to be proud of him. Damian says Sam is the best of them all (I agree), he’s the most noble, honest and good. Damian says he really admires Sam and he loves him a lot, just like the rest of the family. They talk about Domi too and it’s still a hard discussion but no anger or jealousy this time. Damian thinks Domi loves Sam because she can trust him and they shouldn’t fight over a woman. Damian loves Domi with all his heart but she can’t trust him. Damian suggests Sam try to win Domi’s heart, but that he does it as himself and not by trying to be someone else. Sam will only ever be a bad copy of someone else and there’s no need for him to be anything other than himself. Sam is touched that Damian really thinks these things of him and Damian says he’s figured out that Jesus was right all along the most important thing they have is each other. Their family is more important than anything else.

 

Corazon Guerrero – Capitulo 105 – Part 4 of 4

Selena is late arriving back to the club as I feared, the crowd is restless and the owners/thugs are impatient. Stupid Linda is putting Selena’s costumes up to the mirror still dreaming about being objectified. The thugs come to confront Linda and beat the hell out of her when she insists she doesn’t know where Selena is. Selena arrives too late and is horrified by what she sees. She protests and calls her new owners monsters but they just coldly inform her she has five minutes to get on stage.

Vicky looks everywhere for her alcohol. Throws a fit, orders Mica to go get more booze stat!! Then she notices Em in the corner. She still has zero concern for her youngest daughter and yells at her for taking her bottles. She calls her stupid and threatens to do more damage to her if her alcohol doesn’t reappear. Emma cries.

Carloca is taken to the community dinning room where she makes a new loony buddy. These two are a match made in loonyvile and I don’t speak crazy but me know Loca does and she is somehow able to discern that her new little friend knows how to escape from dodge. She immediately starts plotting their joint breakout!

More of Mari and Jesus and now she’s promising to wait as long as it takes now that she knows his heart is hers alone. She says I love you Jesus and he says I love you too Mariluz! Yep, Jesus is awake and he’s about to find out that Mari now knows all his secrets because her next declaration of love is ‘I have always loved you Lisardo Sanchez’.

Meanwhile in the waiting room the rest of the family is gathered when the doctor arrives to tell them all the same lie he told Damian and Domi earlier but unfortunately for the doc, Elias smartly had an independent blood test done at another lab. Augi arrives too and pretends to be meeting the doctor for the first time but Elias points out he saw them talking earlier. Augi insists she must be mistaken. Elias gets the results of the lab test right as the doc is telling is lie and confronts him with the discrepancy in his diagnosis. Everyone in the room is shocked except for Augi as Domi very shrewdly points out and our episode ends on Domi’s very interesting question: ‘Why don’t you look surprised, dad?’

Darcy, another master class in recapping! “Fede…seems much smarter today than the average Fede” really made me laugh. Not only was he smarter, but we got a little eye candy which I prefer over his usual deplorable actions.

I’m glad someone spoke up about Augi’s enabling of Carloca (more on her later).

The writers are doing a little better, and today’s action really cooked; HOWEVER, two things really bothered me this episode. I’m not a physicist (and I don’t play one on TV), but the whole 19-day sober Emma Ruíz Montalvo, LCSW, saving MD and her liver is absolutely ludicrous. Beyond Stockholm. I digress. The PHYSICS of the thrown wine bottle shredding Emma’s arm was laughable. The other physicality blunder: Lina (who deserves quite the anvil) got a bloody nose and mouth from mere kicks from the thugs. Really?

I was surprised that I was kind of digging Drunk Adrián. It was far-fetched but fun that Selena would be his Sober Coach and slowly learn Adrian’s origin story.

Dizzy Mari was another fun albeit forced revelation. Will it be a girl or mini master of all trades like his papi?

Conchita and Abel were adorable and I liked the throwback reference to Chabelita (Conchita’s truck which dates back to Episode One).

Sam & Damián’s bro chat was decent, but what a wasted opportunity. At least Damián finally acted his age (vs. shoe size). The writers should have aborted the whole How To Win The Girl In Love With Your Brother in 8O Episodes crap a long time ago. These 2 actors could have really made us turn on the water works with well-written, original dialog.

An actor who doesn’t need dialog to electrify the screen is Carloca. “I don’t speak crazy but me know Loca does…” BWA HA! Her facial expressions with her new loony buddy scene mate had me cracking up and forgiving 68% of the other nonsense in this episode
 

Guerrero. Another superb recap, Darcy! And yep, O.S., I too love the expression on Carlota's face as she plots. What a great actress! Good advice to Augi from the psychiatrist but also possibly dangerous. I guess that bag was the one "Lisardo" carried. Emma might have a terrible mother, but she has a very good sister. Yep, Darcy, I think you're right about pregnancy watch. Now there is an unresolvable barrier between Mariluz and Patricio. It's disgusting how that immoral doctor lies about what ails Jesus--all for his and the hospital's financial advantage. It's nice how Selena cares about Sam. She's basically a kind and decent person. And it turns out that Selena's new bosses ARE as evil and dangerous as Fede.

Loved Selina's speech to Domenica. It didn't occur to me before that Domenicadoesn'trealise how much damage her closeness does to Sam because it's obvious that just friends is a lie. But now Damian made things worse by suggesting Sam win Dom's affections..
I still don't get what that horrific and disturbing plot with Ema acting like a faithful dog is doing in this tn. Don't they realise how absurd this is? If they are going for the old one' she is still my mother' angle, forget it. Ema's therapist/doctor is no good if she didn't identify this tendency and put a stop to this nonsense.
How exactly Mari knowing the truth makes her believe she and Jesus can be together? I mean, the guy is still married and it's not like his revenge has a deadline. Or is it like an exa,'please submit your asignment by June 3rd.' Title:revenge plan
