#47 "El error de Noelia"

the Ninja (Chuy) spooks Eva, threatens to kill her if she blackmails the del Rios.

Renata pays off Chuy, he doesn't like what he has become but takes the money, RR has a creepy look.

Olga catches Chuy with the money.

GumChew got his promotion in LA thanks to Ale, and he's still on the Cesar case, is he wearing suits now, Renata wants to make sure Camila is in the clear.

Noelia makes the call, to Elvira, but spills to Cesar, they beat feet and pass the cops on the highway out.

Elvira asks Linda for help, but there is nothing she can do.

Eva tells Pascual he won, pleads with him, she loves him and wants to find a way to... he tells her to enjoy her new car while she's looking for a new job.

Eva learns from the other secretary that Pascual has bought tickets to Spain and is looking for a place to rent long term, she goes to Renata thinking it will help her situation, RR has security toss her out.

FJ returns to San Diego, finds out the hotel receptionist, Mr. Green, was fired, talks to the bellhop, the husband showed up and took everything.

Aunt Valeria arrives to find the police, and her sister RR.

Olga rips on Ale, she doesn't like how Chuy has changed, (did she threaten to tell FJ) Ale says she likes Chuy the way he was too.

Cesar ditches the car, they hike to where they get a trailer for the night, Camila cases the town, they can catch the train to Chicago.

Tomas tells the family he will sue the clinic, Ray won't help (I wonder why) but maybe another lawyer, RR tells him to forget about the eggs.

Chuy buys Ale an expensive bracelet, (and shirts with sleeves for himself) she hands it back, she doesn't want him to change, he says there is no going back, he wants her to drop FJ for him, nope, I was clear about that, let's just end this once and for all.

FJ confides in his dad over his trip, (he has the M necklace) he's convinced it was Cara Sucio that killed her. LAPD GumChew shows, he wants to know about the money FJ deposited in Valeria's account (for Camila).

Valeria comes to the Zoo, Olga wants to hug, nope, something about siding with her father.

Tomas spills to the expectant mother, Ines, the eggs are gone, they both swing by the clinic, Lucy confesses, it was the gardener that took the embryos.

Valeria's presence is cryptic, half the house, business, and Dad's money belonged to her, Camila calls and Val puts it on speakerphone so Renata can hear, Camila needs the money FJ deposited, gives her the details which Val writes down for RR, who has convinced her this is best for Cami.

Chuy gives the bracelet to Olga, nope, where would I wear it?

RR gives Cami's locate to GumChew, he's on it, nope, Renata will run the show.

Valeria meets Chuy, didn't know Olga had a son, and runs into a surprised Pascual, what's it been, 25 years.

Renata's strike team arrives in Chicago on a company Jetair jet.

Cesar coughs, Cami feels like they are being watched, she leaves alone for the bank to get the money that's being transferred, she'll be back in an hour.

Valeria is catching up on her drinking, comments to Pascual, there are no family pics of her, did you forget me, he comments on the damage she did, she corrects him, we did.

Linda gives Elvira a heads up, Cesar is about to be caught.

Thank you deb for another terrific, snappy recap! There was a lot to unpack in that episode and you did a masterful job covering everything.

“Chuy buys Ale an expensive bracelet, (and shirts with sleeves for himself)” made me laugh! I like the sleeves and sleeveless look of Chuy but not what he has done.

Big Ed is starting to play a very prominent role in all of the mystery. Looks like he and Valeria definitely had a thing 25 years ago and Chuy looks about 25 years old. Maybe Big Ed does not realize that his son has been right under his nose for years. For a minute I also thought that perhaps Tomas could be Valeria’s son, especially when she said she was a recovering alcoholic. Being around the Zoo people sure knocked her off the wagon quickly.
The scene with FJ and Pascual was very interesting in how it was filmed. FJ could not see his dad’s face as he laid out what he thought was going on with Adriana and that Mariana Standford is a real person. We could see Pascual’s face blurred out as he appeared to be more uncomfortable with FJ’s theories.

Is Big Ed in touch with Adriana or with Mariana? He is definitely going to Spain, so my theory now is Adriana set up her twin sister Mariana who was the one shot at the amusement park. Adriana and Big Ed are heading off to Spain to live happily ever after. Add that to the crockpot.

RR and GumChew are something else. Glad to see that JetAir has a nice gulfstream plane and not just a puddle jumper like the plane Cami was flying.

Chuy is going to have to deal with Tomas but I am sure Tomas will figure out that Chuy did not act alone. That will be a very interesting interaction.

Eva is not just going to sit and drive her new car around. I am sure she will be on Pascual’s tail trying to figure out what is going on and with who.

I think Chuy's parents are Pascual and Valerie . He has their black hair and Pascual's build. Some guys are just born with a tendancy to havev those broad shoulders . I guess RR and Olga have known all along , but Pascual doesn't know .

I guess there were twins. is Adrian still alive and thriving ? Will all our questions be answered in the end ?

Crazy Tracy once again slithers away & escapes when Colon interrupts Aurelio, who is pissed off when Zambrano picks her up & drives off.

Over at the Zambrana Ranch: Zambrano figures out Crazy Tracy must be a DEA agent & has her dragged into some secret dungeon somewhere inside his house.

Manzano & Colon are bickering over what happened to Corinna & Manzano tells him to let it go & move on; Colon explains he would like to let things go, but he cannot. All of this while they're in a shootout with several of Zambrano's backup team.

Felina's Bodyguard Dude & Caridad are getting their freak on inside Felina's mansion: We all knew this little escapade was bound to happen.

Aurelio tells Chatarrero to get Mecha out of here; apparently Aurelio figured out that Mecha is preggers & didn't tell him. Mecha: You should've told him the truth A LONG TIME AGO EARLIER IN SEASON 8.

Over at the Zambrana Ranch: We see Crazy Tracy chained up like a dog LOL.

Meanwhile in Mexicali: Grenas calls Tata about the identity of Zambrana's niece; Tata sends him photos of Zambrana's late niece; Doesn't take long for Grenas & Vitaminas to put two & two together.

In Mexico City: Creepy Aguirre plotting & scheming as usual. What else is new ?

Once again in Mexico City: Ritula is comforted by Felina & Laura during the viewing for SuperJavi: whose casket is open & guarded by Scruffy Dude.

Skinny warns Ismael & Co., that Castillo & Dahlila are coming, so they hide in some bathroom preparing to unload their weapons at both Castillo & Dahlila.

Ritula gets pissed off & blames BOTH Castillo & Dahlila for SuperJavi's death. Something tells me that Creepy Aguirre was the one who anonymously called the DEA & law enforcement to going after SuperJavi so that he can have Ritula all to himself.

No appearance from Psycho Jaime & Gullible Berenice: HORRAY!

Alfaro earlier in the episode speaks on the phone from DF with Manzano while the shootout was going on LOL.

More of Ritula scolding Castillo & Dahlila; we see Karla just a little bit, who leaves with both Castillo & Dahlila. My Oh My: Castillo & Dahlila, both of you are so lucky to have gotten out of dodge with Karla because if any of y'all had stayed, y'all would've gotten whacked.

Skinny, Ismael & Co., get back in the room & guard the funeral chapel.

Earlier during the episode: Felina scolds Castillo & dares him to handcuff her ASAP. Of course, he doesn't.

Back in Sinaola: Professor Said & Creepy Scruff still searching information about Aurelio's descendants including the descendants of Vitaminas & Creepy Scruff.

Both Creepy Scruff & Professor Said find a large warchest box: which has GOLD inside of it. Both are elated by this intriguing discovery.

Yes, Tomás tells the family he plans to sue the fertility clinic, but I'm still hoping that he and Ines decide to use the same method Tomás and Adriana did. Of course, he could both sue the clinic AND create embryos with Ines. (And there's always the outside possibility that he'll find he can have intercourse with Ines.)

You're so right, deb, Valeria's presence at the Del Rio house is most definitely cryptic. Among other things, her interactions with Olga and then Pascual lead me to agree with VVS and Susanlynn that Chuy is very likely the son of Valeria and Pascual. But at what point did baby Chuy become Olga's son? And wouldn't Pascual have known Chuy was his son?

I was disappointed when, after 20 years of sobriety, Valeria falls off the wagon the first day back at the Del Rio house. I'm tired of novelas depending on people getting drunk to push the plot along and provide what some people think of as comic relief. Oh well....

I found myself quite nervous at the end of the episode when Camila goes off and César seems preoccupied, dismisses Camila's worry about the man sitting nearby, and tells Noelia to go play.

the writers are constantly taking us to the door but it never opens, there is a big arrow pointing at Pascual, and Valeria's return to the Zoo has opened all the cages.

(and with Noelia's constant whining I was hoping they would rent a car with a trunk).

let's see, Val got pregnant (with Pascual?), Renata and the old man took the baby from her, Val left (25 years ago), never to return (as RR and Pascual thought) Renata stayed with the old man in his dying years and got the house, business, and his money (and Pascual), hmmm,

embryoless Tomas/Ines will certainly stir the pot, while clueless FJ is on a mission with Adriana calling him from the grave, and our distinguished Senatora stands in the middle of everything.

are Chuy's ninja days over and is Val calling him hither.

Cesar is desperate to protect Cami (who has shown hostility toward Adriana) who seems to constantly put Cesar at risk, who appears to be back inside of GumChew's rodeo.

is it a foster home for Noelia and can Elvira move back to her own place.

as Linda quietly watches, ready to strike.

deb, your recap was terrific. I always love your style, full of zingers. And your later comments echoed my own thoughts. Would someone please put tape over Noelia's mouth. The writers are doing her a disservice. They've shown her several times way mature for her age. Now they've turned her into a whiny 3-year-old. Loved "rent a car with a trunk".

Olga's face was 100% shock, and likely dismay, when she caught sight of Valeria. ITA about Chuy being Valeria's kid. I don't think Big Ed knew. I even remember the scene when FJ was about ready to grab Ale. Chuy stepped in to defend her and Big Ed yelled at him. The gist of it was, you're a servant...stay in your place. Also, he's shown affection for all his children all the way through. Doubt he'd have let RR turn Valeria's child into a gardener.

Hoo boy, tonight should be interesting. Tomás is certainly not going to "let it slide" about Chuy basically killing his babies.

To me the evidence about Mariana Stanford having existed included her not recognizing FJ when he called out to her right before she was shot. If Adriana set up her own twin, then she deserves a bad end.

Something that's been driving me nuts all along is FJ continually spilling all the beans to his pops. It sure looks like Big Ed uses everything FJ has said to further his own ends. But somehow I still think the strong hints that he's the man saying he's Mariana Stanford's husband could be red herrings.

Boy Valeria sure caved to her evil big sister in a hurry. Guess she had 17 years of bullying and reverted to type.

Cami went for the money so RR may grab her up, but César could still get away if Cami won't say where he is.

Howdy from the Alamo City folks. Here's my super short recap of tonight's episode.

*SuperJavi was cremated & his ashes were given to Ritula.

*Ismael snaps at Laura, who tells him about what happened between her & Creepy Aguirre. He is so pissed off, he leaves her.

*Aurelio meets with Professor Said & Creep Scruffy in Sinaola, where he finds out about the large gold warchest.

*Felina finds out BodyguardDude & Caridad had sex the other day.

*Psycho Jaime sleeps with Dahlila, who really needs her own spin-off Telenovela on Telemundo ASAP.

*Creepy Aguirre sees Ismael & Skinny inside his office. The waiting game ensues on how this confrontation turns out.

#48 – El Prisionero – Parte 1 de 3

We don’t see any scenes from Monday’s episode. We get right into it. Tomás and Inés are with the Fertility Clinic Head and Lucy. Lucy tells them that Tomás’s mother came first and thanked Lucy for caring for her “grandchildren”. The doctor says that before that his mother went to the lawyer asking them to get rid of the embryos. Lucy: “And then the guy who works at hour house, he asked me out. But I swear he said his name was Tomás Del Rio. When he had the embryos in his hand, he changed. He stole them, I swear!”

The head guy in reception at the San Diego hotel, the one who was fired, comes to see FJ and says that he got him in a big mess. FJ apologizes for that and says, as he told him, he’ll pay well for the information. The guy wants it por adelantado (in advance) because FJ won’t like what he sees on the security cameras. FJ hands over the money. [Telemundo must have a whole closet full of manila envelopes that they can use for the frequent payoffs.] FJ wants to see the specific video of the guy who said he was Mariana Stanford’s husband.

In Chicago César watches Noelia on a swing, smiling. A woman comes up asking if he speaks Spanish. He says he doesn’t know the area but points her to where he saw an information booth. When he turns around Noelia is gone.

Cami shows up somewhere (Western Union?) to get the money FJ sent her. Renata shows up and tells her that it’s over.

Tomás comes into the Del Rio kitchen and socks Chuy in the mouth, while Olga looks on. “You posed as me to destroy my embryos. You were my friend! You betrayed me!" Chuy tries to say he’s sorry, but Tomás well knows it’s about the money. Chuy has the gall to tell him having a child was only un capricho (a whim, a passing fancy). Tomás tells him he wouldn’t care if Chuy died (foreshadowing?). Olga is appalled at what Chuy did.

Cesar keeps looking throughout the park. He eventually hears her voice. He finds Noelia, but GumChew has a gun to her head. Noelia shrieks throughout GumChew’s Miranda warning. [Now he’s law-abiding? Must be for the benefit of the Chicago cops who are also there.]

The guy FJ paid off overpowers some guy in the room where the security videos are stored. He shows FJ the video. FJ sees his father take Mariana Stanford’s things from the hotel.

Who else, Vero, has the scoop and shows her audience Cesar being put in the back of a police car. Telenovela Airlines must have gotten her there for the big moment.

Some guys who came to the place Cami went to get the money drag her away. She sees César riding by in the back of the police car.

Tomás jumps right off the wagon and commiserates with Tia Valeria about how “the Zoo” drives people to drink. Don’t think he’s seen her before because he tells her he thought she was a myth.

Instead of to the San Clemente hoosegow, it looks like they took César right to the Big Boy Penitentiary.

Noelia sobs in Elvira’s arms after some cop brings her home [Well, kiddo, if you’d kept your mitts off Cami’s phone, you’d be happily playing with those horses in Kentucky.]

#48 – El Prisionero – Parte 2 de 3

Looks like GumChew may have made sure that César is treated very badly at intake, unless the snarling guy does that to everyone. His cellmate is awful. César doesn’t look like the usual hairless young guy who’s considered sexual prey, but the guy seems to be leaning that way. But he does say that “they” hate guys who abuse women.

FJ calls Eva, telling her about the video he saw.

Cami tells RR she’d rather be in a cell than in her childhood home. I think Ray may have one of those strings on his back, like the ones some dolls used to have. Because he keeps saying the same thing over and over: "César did it." Cami tells RR she hates her. And that RR doesn’t know how to love anyone. When Pascual comes in, she begs him to help get César out. He refuses, of course.

Evil prisoner puts a chokehold on Cesar. [Ever since that thing in the NYC subway, those bother me.] César gets away briefly. Then finally a guard comes to take out the trash (Evil Prisoner). They said his name, but I hope I won’t need to know it going forward. I want César to go all Reina del Sur on him; remember that one?)

FJ confronts his father, asking what it could be that Eva wants to tell him. He tells him that he saw the security recording of when the “supposed husband” of Adriana got her things from the suite. “It was you!” Pascual, always fast on his feet, says that he took the things so that FJ wouldn’t keep looking for clues forever.

Ale walks in and Pascual goes on a distraction rant about what a great wife FJ has. [It doesn’t work anymore, Pascual.] FJ says that his father, his best friend, has been lying to him.

Eva sneaks into JetAir and finds a copy of the tickets for Pascual and one Mariana Stanford.

Cami comes to see Elvira and Noelia.

Eva tells RR about Pascual’s flight to Spain with his new lover, Mariana Stanford. She has printed out a copy of MS from the internet and hands it to RR. She also tells her that Pascual bought the tickets AFTER Adriana died. Eva keeps trying to get back into Renata’s good graces.

Ray has shown up at César’s house in San Clemente, and someone pulls the string on his back so Viewerville gets his same old, same old. He refuses to act as Cesar’s attorney. Ray breaks the news to Cami about the backpack, with Cesar’s huellas (fingerprints), the murder weapon, and the passport.

RR looks up Mariana Stanford on the internet. Pascual jumps into his sports car and takes off. Eva follows him. He goes into a house with his suitcase. Eva sneaks up and sees him hug and kiss Adriana in the doorway.

The first thing Adriana does is yell at Pascual for not getting César out. He tells her they need to think about “us”. She kisses him. But then she pulls away and says that César doesn’t deserve to be accused of killing her, and Noelia needs to be with her father. Our father of the year doesn’t promise anything. He just says that HIS problem is that el necio (his fool) of a son may be finding out the truth.

#48 – El Prisionero – Parte 3 de 3

Ray called GumChew, who shows up at César’s house. [Elvira, for Pete’s sake, speak up in front of Cami and Ray about the gun he put to her head.] She does tell the truth that Viewerville also knows: these people are capable of inventing anything. GumChew shows Cami pictures of the backpack and its contents.

Our newlyweds chat. Ale tells FJ she doesn’t have a lover right now (because she dumped Chuy), but maybe they should consider an open marriage.

Inés brings Tomás inside The Zoo, drunk.

Adriana, feisty as ever, tells Pascual that she betrayed a man who was important to her for him. She refused $1 million because he promised to leave with her. She left her daughter. She hopes he’s not backing out. He wants her to stay in the (second) hideout he’s found for her a while longer. Because, if the guy who killed Adriana thinking it was Mariana finds out, they’ll be in a big problem [This is what he said; but it seems like the opposite would make more sense to me.]

Cami manages to get visitation at the penitentiary and begs César to tell her the truth. He tells her about the contents of the backpack.

Adriana talks about going forward as Mariana Stanford. She tries to get into Mariana’s laptop, but it’s blocked. Pascual points to the children and Adriana tells him they are her nephews, the ones Cara Sucia left without a mother. She is overjoyed to find that Pascual brought MS’s passport. She tells him he better hurry up with his plans because this passport is burning a hole in her hands. She wants to get the hell out of Califas.

FJ and Inés try to sober up Tomas. Chuy (idiot) comes in and offers to help get him to his room. Tomás tells FJ, while Ale looks on, that Chuy, along with his mother, destroyed his embryos. FJ gets a text from Eva wanting to meet.

César explains to Camila about his chasing the bunny because he recognized the backpack. He found the gun inside. Cami says that Barros told her César would have used the passport as bait to get Adriana to the amusement park. And the passport was inside.

Pascual and DAMAS are in post-coital bliss. He wonders how nos clavamos tanto (got stuck on each other so much). She tells him it was always that way. We see poor FJ introduce them. He tells her that she is the only woman who has affected him that way. She replies that she betrayed a man for him. We see a flashback: Adriana was also at the amusement park.

Adriana tells Pascual that her sister, Mariana Stanford, had to die for her to finally get her freedom. She only hopes that Cara Sucia never learns the truth. [What was not clear, at least to me, was whether Adriana wanted her sister to be shot like that or had perhaps planned to meet her.] Pascual wants to know Cara Sucia’s name and offers to kill him. She replies that, if she told him, he’d likely kill Pascual first.

Chuy confesses to FJ what he did to Tomas and says that he probably should leave the house. Ale tries to butt in, but Chuy tells him exactly what he did and at the behest of RR. Ale keeps trying, but FJ orders Chuy to leave.

Cami finally comes to believe the “evidence” GumChew concocted. She leaves César sitting there in the prison visiting room.

Eva records a video accusing Pascual, Renata calls to tell her that Adriana had a twin. She wants Eva to work with her again.

Novelera: AWESOME job on the recap of last night's episode. More stupidity with 32 episodes left.

Like I've said before: I wouldn't be shocked if Telemundo brings this back for 2nd Season LOL.

Well,Pascual is at the center of this tangled mess. This guy gets around . What a triangle . ..Adriana with father and son . Okay.

Chuy is in way over his head.

Why did Valerie decide to go home , and why did she let Renata hear Cami's phone call? Was Val drunk ? Makes no sense.

Now, Gumchew holds a gun to a little girl's head . Then, he holds her doll. This actor wants to make his character super quirky.

Get out your bingo cards...Cesar is threatened in jail. Now, he really b looks like a deer caught in the headlights.

Susanlynn: I do NOT see a happy ending here at this point unless the direction of the storyline changes with just 32 episodes left.

I'm assuming the upcoming Telenovela with Fernando Colunga & Ana Brenda Contreras will replace "JUEGO" 🤔 ?

Nothing like a fabulous novelera recap to brighten the day! Thank you novelera!
Wow…where to start? Now I think Adriana was in the bunny suit and killed her decoy sister Mariana. This explains how the bunny got the backpack. We know that GumChew planted the passport he found at Cesar’s to get his big promotion.

Adriana has no remorse for her dead twin or for her niece and nephew. Does Mariana have a real husband? Pascual is something else for sure. I would like to meet this Cara Sucia we have been building too. Hope he is not a disappointment after all the intrigue.

Chuy should just leave that house already and not have to be kicked out. If he really is Pascual’s son, that will be some interesting dynamic moving forward.

Telemundo teleport system was in high demand. Cami and Noelia got back to Cali pretty quickly and then Cami was promptly back in Chicago to see Cesar within one commercial break.
Crazy how Cesar ends up right in a high security prison without a call to a lawyer or even seeing a judge to hear the charges against him.

Eva and RR are going to end up together, lol, with all the drama surrounding Pascual.
I wish I had time to comment more on all your snarky, snark novelera, but work calls.

Novelera, you've really outdone yourself with this superb recap, complete with some Spanish and lots of snark! I especially loved your "[Well, kiddo, if you’d kept your mitts off Cami’s phone, you’d be happily playing with those horses in Kentucky.]" Amen!

There were lots of other things in this episode that I liked, starting with Tomás slugging Chuy in the jaw. And I'm glad Tomás also made clear to FJ what Chuy did to the embryos, and that both Tomás and FJ ordered Chuy to leave the house. An order that did not seem to please Ale, and this too made me happy.

Wow, GumChew points his pistol at Noelia's head! As much as I'm annoyed with Noelia, I'm appalled at GumChew's doing this. I hope that by the end of the novela, he'll be in prison. I'm not sure for what--anything will do, real or imagined. And preferably with César's cellmate.

I understood how Vero [hiss here] always got the scoop in San Clemente and perhaps in LA thanks to Ale, but how did she know so quickly about Chicago?
Yes, Telenovela Airlines clearly got her there, but how did she know to get on the TA plane?

I loved your suggesting that Ray has strings attached that someone can pull so that Ray keeps saying the same old same old.

So Adriana really does seem to care for César. She berates Pascual for not doing something to get the innocent César out of jail.

When Ale and FJ talk, Ale tells him that she doesn't have a lover now, but FJ then asks a more pointed question. He tells her, "I haven't been with anyone since we were married. And you??" Alas, the sudden arrival of Ines and Tomás gets Ale off the hook. For now.

Yikes, I apparently missed the fact that Adriana, too, was at the amusement park. Why would she have been there? To be sure Mariana gets killed?

So, as has become increasingly likely, Adriana and Mariana were identical twins. I was hoping for a stranger explanation, though even this one still doesn't make clear who did what. Who was the pole dancer? Who interacted with the fashion designer?

Novelera, since I'm back in question-asking mode, I'll end with one more. I certainly remember La Reina del Sur, but what did you mean when you said "I want César to go all Reina del Sur on him; remember that one?"

VVS, I didn't see your comments until after I'd posted mine, but I'm struck by what you suggested about Adriana being the one in the bunny suit and the one who killed her twin sister. Wow! I'd never considered this, but Wow!

yes, a (not-so) chatty Ray doll, love it, not once as a lawyer has he looked for the truth (and no one has mentioned if there were prints on the gun) and he does seem to have invisible strings tying him to Renata.

Mariana had a degree in finance, I don't think she was involved in any of Adriana's games, but why is there no remorse for her death, as Adriana no one even informed her family.

I got the idea earlier that Cesar and Adriana had quite a fling until the birth of Noelia when Cesar took the path of loving father, yep no mother's day presents for Adriana.

Great comments, as always! VVS, Adriana being at the amusement park was a big reveal, but I don't think she could have been in the bunny suit. I re-watched her appearance a couple of times last night. They showed her reacting to Mariana's being shot. The camera was on her when we heard it. And I even think they went with the old saw about twins feeling each other's pain. She sort of mirrored what happened, lurching backward and clutching her stomach as if she'd been shot. I don't know why she was there at all, much less why Mariana was there, but I'm sure the writers have something in store for us.

It's always really hard to tell where things take place in TNs, but I thought for some reason that, without their actually showing it, César had been extradited back to California and was in a prison there.

Susanlynn, yep, bingo cards time! César is not only in the slammer, he's lost his only powerful ally. From what I've seen of Elvira so far, letting GumChew bully her, doubt she'll do more than wring her hands.

Juanita, AMEN to GumChew in the same cell as Evil Prisoner! What I meant about La Reina del Sur happened in Season 1 when Teresa was in prison in Spain. She had that awful cellmate who was definitely wanting to share her bunk. She delivered a very satisfying beatdown to said prisoner in the bathroom of the prison.

GumChew should come to that penitentiary and give César a big kiss. He was seriously bored in San Clemente and wanted better things (not that he's smart enough to have EARNED them). Now he's wearing a tie in Los Angeles. I looked closely and, while I didn't notice enthusiasm, I can't say I saw contempt when he was spouting off to a roomful of LAPD real cops.

deb, I complimented the comments before seeing yours...right on the nose, as always. It seemed like Adriana was telling Pascual that Cara Sucia was the shooter. And, yes, she didn't show much regret. My current crockpot theory is that Mariana was adopted, leaving Adriana behind and separating the twins early on. This could account for little to no sisterly grief. Her joy at being able to appropriate her twin's passport was especially jarring. But then she's been an opportunist all along.

For some reason I think Pluto is too obvious as Cara Sucia.

I agree that César and Adriana were, at least, madly in lust before Noelia was born. Not having been nurtured herself, motherhood was extremely hard for her. And that lack of nurturing can lead to actual jealousy when a child becomes the partner's focus.

I think the days of naive, moth-to-the-flame FJ are gone, at least regarding his father.

My bingo card is on Eva to bite the dust. Can't say I'll grieve. She knows too much, and could be done in by either Renata or Pascual.

Thanks, novelera, for explaining what you were referring to in La Reina del Sur. I do remember the scene where Teresa gives her aggressive cellmate a beatdown, but IIRC, Teresa was already quite skilled in the martial arts. I don't recall César having shown any sign that he has such skills. (Then again, my not recalling it doesn't mean much.)

#49 "Hasta nunca, fiel secretaria"

Adriana pulls out a diary and starts writing her backstory for Noelia,

she and her twin sister were abandoned at an orphanage where they lived together till they were 5, when a couple from Miami adopted Mariana, she was the lucky one, alone, Adriana bonded with a boy, Cara Sucia. (and today she is the lucky one)

Cesar, gets a new cellmate, Nero boy, as the guard explains, courtesy of Linda.

oops, someone pulled Ray's string, Cami is to stay away from Cesar.

Renata and Pascual chat, she asks about Mariana but their code does not allow for a response, Renata has headed off Eva from seeing FJ and she is on her way, she asks Pascual to leave so Eva will not think they are not together against him.

a nervous/excited Eva arrives, tells Renata about the Spain tickets bought after Adriana's death, one for Mariana, then about following Pascual and seeing Adriana/Mariana, him with a suitcase, they are leaving. Renata says she will handle it, gives Eva her choice of disappearing, money, world tour, no, no, Eva wants justice, wants to tell FJ, call the police, but gets a blow to the head with a crystal statuette, there is no way a 2 bit whore will destroy Renata's marriage.

Cami goes to see her mother, a shaken Renata behind a closed door says to meet her downstairs in the living room, Val takes the time (before she leaves ??) to apologize for betraying Cami who throws out you saved me from a guy who was lying to me, Val responds that there was a time she also fell for the wrong guy.

FJ is at Eva's apartment but no one is home.

Elvira brings Noelia to visit papi 0227, she has brought a drawing of the sun he can post on his wall, and later will bring one of the ocean, it's tears all around, and Cami, maybe it's best if you forget about her for now, Cesar tells Noelia, times up, love you, love you more, love you more, more, more.

Renata calls Pascual, things did not go as planned.

Renata calls Chuy to help her, he cleans up while she takes off with Eva's stuff to ditch her car (don't think it's the new one) runs into Pascual and passes the job.

Tomas (who's had a couple of drinks with Val) jumps on Chuy for not leaving, but learns from Olga that Cami is back, meeting her he spills on Renata the monster, destroying his eggs.

Cesar prisoner 0227 posting his sun pic talks to his new cellmate who reflects on his daughter who came every week and drew pics for him, but her visits became fewer and farther in between, the last he saw her she was pregnant, life goes on but you are no longer a part of it.

Ines confronts Renata who is not in the mood, tosses her out.

Ale is giving a campaign speech and afterward as she smiles and shakes hands, there is Lucy who wants to talk, why?, why? Ale turns on her smooth, she was just playing along with Chuy to find out what he was up to, seeing Lucy's not buying it, and you don't want to mess with a Senator.

Olga walks in on Chuy cleaning up the blood, worried that he is in the Mistress's bedroom and doesn't notice, he doesn't think he will be fired (now).

moth FJ is home looking for Pascual.

GumChew stops by prison to gloat at Ken, referring to Cesar.

a spinning Pascual shows up at the hideout with Eva's stuff, Adriana has the solution, I'll be Eva.

 

"JUEGO":

Deb: Just as I predicted from the get-go: RIP Eva.

You knew too much!

Body Count will increase BIGLY from here on out.

Drb, thank you for for the recap. I haven't watched this episode yet , but now I will know what folks are saying . I mostly try to interpret what FJ's eyebrows are trying to tell me ....and it's mostly " Hey, I am lost...what's going on ???"

Also, Adriana's face and form is always very animated . Those eyebrows are all over the place , and she is usually yelling or jumping on someone . She and Papa Pascual are an interesting pair. Father figure ? She wants a daddy? zaddy?

How will Adriana become Eva?

Since Linda was able to get a new , docile cell mate for Cesar , I expect her to visit him and console him about Cami believing he is guilty and leaving him. This might be her chance to take Cami's place .

Chuy just keeps sinking deeper and deeper as he tries to please Renata and Ale .Goodbye , Chuy. You should have listened to mama Olga and just kept drying the dishes.

I have had enough of Tomas.

Susanlynn: I hope you're right about Linda being the one picking up the pieces with Cesar IF he gets acquitted & his record cleared of any crimes against him in the Gran Final with 31 episodes left (sounds like this ends next month I'm assuming).

Halimacandy: Professor Said explains the situation & history lessons to Aurelio & Co., in Sinaola.

Deb: Over at the Zambrana Ranch: We still see Crazy Tracy chained up like a dog LOL. Something tells me she'll plot something to escape.

Kirby: More of Ismael & Laura arguing over his supposed over-reaction about Creepy Aguirre sleeping with Laura.

Susanlynn: Alfaro & Psycho Jaime discussing more schemes, etc., as Psycho Jaime's campaign for the Presidency in 2024 continues. Since we're getting a 9th Season, it'll probably be featured then.

VVS: Diana & Ritula also need to realize that Creepy Aguirre is using them. I hope they find out the truth before it's too late.

Thanks very much, deb, for another impressive recap AND for the heads-up about there being no Juego de Mentiras next Monday or Tuesday. Apparently Señor8 will have its 2-hour gran final on Monday (9-11PM), and on Tuesday, Secretos de Sangre will have a 2-hour premiere.

I was a bit surprised that ex-police officer Marquez was able to have enough influence at the prison to prevent Big Bad Thug from continuing to be César's cell mate. Nero Boy seems a lot less of a problem, though what he said about his daughter's waning attention probably didn't help César's mood.

Susanlynn, your suggestion that Linda Marquez may be able to capitalize on the help she has given César is intriguing.

Hmmm...so Valeria tells Cami that at one time she, too, fell in love with the wrong guy. I wonder who that was. Ladies' Man Pascual?

So the writers have given us another interesting development. Adriana recognizes a need for her "professional" experience in taking over other people's lives. So Diana/Adriana/Mariana becomes Diana/Adriana/Mariana/Eva, aka DAME.
