Elisa declares the war has begun and prays that her sons will be protected from Big Bad Augi and she thanks God that she finally has the proof of her innocence.
Damian calls Jesus and tells him Carloca is dead, Mari is also hearing as Domi shares her grief over imagining what Carloca must have felt while burning to death.
Valero is talking Capt. Justica into going to some sort of charity event where Pinto is allowed to participate too! Sounds silly to me but it cheers Sam up who is determine to get busy, stop thinking about Domi and be happy like Selena wanted him to. He decides he’ll go to all the events and fight in as many matches as possible.
Domi tells Emma about Carloca’s ‘death’ and Emma is shaken. The sisters cry on each other’s shoulders and it sounds horrible, but I am wondering how they can be so sad about someone who treated them so horribly….
Augi’s lawyer finally makes it to the holding cell and he demands his release and tries to throw his weight around but nothing doing, Augi’s being transferred to the big boy prison!
The Guerrero’s discuss Carloca’s fascination with fire and they feel bad for her even though she’s a little pyromaniac but Elisa can’t help but be relieved that Carloca is no longer a threat to them or her future grandchild.
Carloca, still very alive of course, is haunting daddy’s mansion and overhears how thrilled MD and Fede are with Augi’s incarceration and she also sees them making out!!! She’s appalled at the betrayal of her Popi. We also see her confusing Mica by stealing food, and later finding a baby doll she talks to as if it is actually her baby.
Em is kicked out of school since daddy’s fraud is bad for the school’s image. Ren is plotting against Emma and takes the opportunity to send her minion to steal something from Emma. Renata is unlucky enough to run into Rodrigo in the hallway who is in a rapist mood. They are interrupted before Rod can do much harm but it looks like Ren is finally starting to understand that Rod isn’t prince charming. Her friend gives her pretty much the same reaction she gave Emma, by insisting that Rod isn’t like that and he must have been joking.
Mari tells the Garcia’s that Carloca is dead…. Lupe is affected, of course, and silent Conchita looks suspicious – maybe it’s my imagination. Mari wants to celebrate that they don’t have to be afraid anymore and they are starting a new page. Concha is almost talking and Mari says she’ll name the baby Conchita if it’s a girl.
The Guerrero’s gather around the grave to bring daddy up to date. They are happy they have finally completed their oath and Elisa wants Damian to read the letter proving her innocence. The boys say they don’t need proof but it’s important to Elisa that the letter is read. Apparently, if an alive person writes a letter saying ‘if anything happens to me it was probably Charlie Brown who did it’; it’s PROOF POSITIVE that that person is a murderer if you know, the alive person is later murdered...I mean Augi’s guilty and all, so I am not mad, but that letter proves nothing!!! Really, writers?
Domi goes to visit Augi and he wants to talk about how he’s innocent and he’s going to get out of here but Domi’s there to tell him about Carloca. She struggles with how to say it and it’s a really well-done scene on the part of both actors, Augi seems genuinely devastated. He blames himself at first but then he decides it’s Jesus’s fault!!! His failure to love Carloca caused all this!!! Augi will NEVER forgive him for this!
Jesus doesn’t seem concerned; he’s determined to prove that Augi killed Victoriano and he’s discussing this with Elias when Fede shows up and confronts Jesus with his disloyalty to his family. Jesus tries to claim he was only saying ‘IF’ Augi is guilty he’ll have to answer for it but Fede isn’t buying it, he heard him perfectly clear. Fede says Jesus should be loyal since he was part of the family but Jesus makes it clear he wants nothing to do with the family after Carloca’s lies.
Domi talks to Damian about all the things that have happened since Augi decided to run for office. She is now convinced daddy is just being set up and framed. He isn’t a criminal!!! Is this the same Domi who gave back all her credit cards and left home to distance herself from daddy not long ago? She says only a psychopath would go after her father like that, she would never forgive someone for that. Damian wants to tell Domi something but she’s at capacity and she just wants hugs and kisses and assurances! Damian tries again to tell Domi in a round about way, but she thinks he’s talking about justifying Augi’s actions and not his own.
Augi gets a big boy beating in prison and Darcy laughed! A lot!! He deserved it, but it did nothing to humble him, as he keeps saying ‘I’m Augusto Luis Montavlo’. No one seems to care, but I think Augi managed to win over the dude who is THE DUDE in prison to be his new buddy?? It was hard to tell with all bluster from each over who is the tough guy, but the dude did say Augi is under his protection now whether he meant it or not… He gives Augi a phone.
Captain Justica jousts now? Or does some other random horseback show? This was weird, weird, weird, but still cute because it was Sam. He manages to meet and save a damsel in distress!!! LOL Her horse got spooked but Sam came to the rescue, he then loaned her Pinto and spent the rest of the afternoon mooning after her! He even blew her a kiss at one point! It was beyond cheesy, but it was cute!
It was especially cute watching Valero make fun of how enchanted Sam was. Valero says he’s all smiles and Sam says how do you know, I have a mask on. But Valero knows Samu and he doesn’t need to see his face to know. To be fair, I could tell he was smiling too. Just that morning, Sam was still worrying about how to forget Domi but I’m pretty sure he did forget her by the end of the day when he was off to meet his new lady love’s Daddy!!! (Christian de la Campa is very good at looking smitten! Lol He’s very good a whole long list of things come to think of it…) When he’s finally face to face with the lady (Vivana) and maskless, he hilariously tells Valero ‘Mano, why don’t you go drink some water??’ LOL Miss Vivana seems as smitten as Samu, can’t say as I blame her.
Em is filling ill and can’t find her insulin anywhere!!! Mica goes to look for it and MD comes in and reads Emma the riot act. She could care less that Em isn’t felling well and even after Emma actually faints MD doesn’t seem particularly concerned but Mica calls 911. I wasn’t 100% sure what Renata was up to earlier but I’m guessing now that she stole Emma’s insulin. Em is helped and the medic leaves more insulin for her – he tries to hand it to MD and then realizes it’s pointless and gives it to Mica instead. MD just complains about Emma being irresponsible.
Mari and her buddies get notice from their distributer that they are getting the majority of the profits for themselves after all they are the ones doing the hard work! The ladies are excited they are going to invest some of the profit back into the business and the rest they can spend how they like.
Jesus proposes to Mari handing her a sunflower, but it looks like the answer is no as she says ‘I don’t know what to say’, and hands the sunflower back.
How did Domenica come to the conclusion her father is innocent?
So Augusto seems to have loved Carlota the most. Maybe he'd have been as sad ifeither Domenica or Ema had died, but I somehow think in that case he'd have been only furious at whoever he'd think caused the death.
I'm still looking for that song that plays inthe scenes with Sam and can't find it. It's so damn hard to find songs I like and now I heard one and it seems not to exist on the big web.
To whom it may concern:
If I die laughing at recaps, it was probably Darcy who did it. Or Charlie Brown. Either way, this message is totally admissible in court. Please preserve it well.
O.S. Peñalver
What a wonderful recap, Darcy. Our show spoiled us by giving us a lot of what we really like: Sam & Valero! Smitten Samu is always a treat. Of course it’s always nice to see Pinto. Kudos for catching “Vivana.” I missed that and could only call her Finally Not Doménica.
Anvils are way overdue. I am hoping that Carloca overhearing MD & Fede’s schemes might put a rush on their well-deserved doom.
Doménica is over the top with her I Can’t Handle the Truth - Just Give Me More Hugs & Kisses. Really?
Who knew that Cherry Lawn - The School for Rich Annoying Nitwits subscribed to the ¿¡Qué Dirán!? Meanwhile, everybody lock up your daughters. Rodrígo is running amok! Now where is that darn anvil?
Augi’s beatdown was the stuff LOLs are made of. Wow. But he stuck to his guns and quickly found the upper echelon of prison…and a cell phone. So random. Whom might be call?
Mari’s profit-sharing PSA was nice, but they aren’t fooling anyone with that cliffhanger. Then again, remember Selena…#mentirasviacredits
Waterlily, I forgot you were wondering about that song!! I still haven't paid much attention to the song but I promise to try to notice it so I can see if I recognize it. I tried to look up songs from the show but I probably looked in all the same places you did because I didn't find it either.
O.S. Penalver!!! LMAO!!! I didn't do it!!! I'm innocent I tell you! It's that darn Charlie Brown!
SpanProf, so many questions about the prison guy, I think today's episode gives us a few hints but I would love it if he was secretly plotting Augi's downfall!
To all, I have some people coming by this afternoon to do some work on my house, I'm working on today's recap now but I'll have to take a break for those activities so the recap will be posted later than I usually do. Probably late tonight, but possibly not until tomorrow morning! Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!
Mari says no wedding until the vengeance is over and she and Jesus can be totally happy with no shadows around them. She points out that Jesus himself said he wouldn’t be able to give himself completely to her until his mission was completed.
Sam meets Rogelio Magallon, Vivana’s dad. Rog says he is in Sam’s debt since he saved the day for Viv and Sam should just ask him for anything he wants. I am not sure if that meant like dinner or a 401K but Sam turns it down and says it was nothing, and Rogelio owes him nothing. Sir Rog says his goodbyes, leaving Sam and Viv alone; and Vivana says Samu is a total celebrity and the kids love him but she wants to know more about Samuel Guerrero.
Augi calls Lupe….yuck. He tells her about his beating and bugs her to come visit him.
Adrian breaks up with Laura telling her the truth that he just can’t get over Emma. Laura goes all fatal attraction and tells Adrian she loves him and without him her life makes no sense!!! If he breaks up with her she’ll kill herself and he’ll have to live with that on his conscious! Oy Ve! I mean no offense to Adrian, but she’s young, beautiful, a future lawyer; I would think she’d have a few reasons outside of Adrian to live. This one is Loca, Jr.
Lupe and Conchita ‘talk’ about Augi. Dead horse alert. I’m sad Conchita can only give dirty looks and not actually say what she’s thinking about Augi, though her facial expressions are awesome!
Augi has a not-fun visit from his party guy who tells him the political party is abandoning him. He’ll soon be relieved of his governor position and he’ll be all alone with no support.
Ren calls Emma trying to get her to forgive her but she leads with ‘I stole your insulin’ and Emma isn’t willing to even hear Renata out. Emma has already given Renata too many chances she hangs out over Ren’s protests. I actually cheered!!! I don’t want to see Renata redeemed at this point, she doesn’t deserve it.
Augi next meets with his lawyer, he is planning to set up Fede to take the fall for him.
MD and Fede talk about her money, what else? She can hardly wait to til tomorrow when they met to get the power of attorney signed. Fede has a plan too! He’s going to set up Jesus to take the fall for incriminating Augi – he’s going to convince Augi his one and only enemy is Jesus Guerrero.
Dumb Lupe actually goes to the prison to visit Augi but as I already informed the patio a few episodes ago I refuse to keep recapping the happenings in this unholy relationship. Augi wants forgiveness and marriage, Lupe can’t forgive but she can’t stop loving him either…..blah blah blah I wonder what Carloca is doing….
Jesus and Mari are still together and happy and doing a non-formal asking for Mari’s hand even though Mari said no wedding for right now. Lupe says the baby is already on the way, how long are they going to wait?
Augi talks to his new BFF about his plans to get out. His lawyer is on it, and Augi is sure he’ll be released unlike BFF who is screwed. BFF’ll be in jail for life and he isn’t even sure who to thank for that! He thought he was sent to jail by some agent Jesus Cordero but he found out it was a false identity!! He’s not sure who the real person was but the latest his people have been able to find out is that the guy’s name might be Lisardo Sanchez!!! Augi decides if Lisardo is a secret agent he probably set him up too!!
Jesus and Mari disagree about whether or not Augi is the devil…. Mari is mistaken.
Oh, that’s what Carloca is doing!!! Chatting up her new doll baby assuring it that Jesus is his dad. He abandoned them for that stupid florist though!!! But look, she says, showing the baby the keys to the Garcia house! She’s going to get that Florista!!! This goes into a pretty cool sequence where you’re no longer sure if it’s Carloca talking or Conchita dreaming but we see images of Loca coming to set the house on fire! Conchita springs out of bed and padlocks the door, we hear her think that Carloca isn’t dead and she isn’t going to let her hurt Mariluz or the baby.
Another round of Lupe and Conchita. Lupe is telling mom how hard as she tries she just can’t stop loving Augi and Darcy stopped listening and just watched Conchita’s face.
MD and Augi meet to discuss the transference of the inheritance. It’s ugly, ugly, ugly. Full of accusations and resentments. Augi calls MD everything but human and tells her she’s the worst mother ever (true), she has no real feelings or substance, etc etc. Vicky don’t care, she wants Money, lots and lots of Money! Augi twists the knife and says he wants a divorce so he can marry Lupe!!! MD says NEVER!!! (Why???) She will never give Augi a divorce, as long as she lives, she will never let Augi marry Lupe! Did MD just sign her own death sentence??? I mean ‘as long as I’m alive’ sounds like a challenge to me, but by my logic I would have expected her to be dead by Augi’s hand long before episode 1 so who knows? Maybe she’ll live to be 100!
The Guerreros go with Elisa (undisguised without so much as a scarf covering her scar) to the police station to report Augi for the murder of Victoriano, but surprise surprise, the officer explains to them that the letter in and of itself isn’t enough to prove Augi killed Don Victoriano. He’s could take the letter and compare the handwriting but they will need more proof if they are going to charge him.
Mari is talking to Conchita who still isn’t talking, and trying to guess why she’s upset. She mentions how Carloca was responsible for Abel’s death and Conchita is shocked!!! Mari apologizes over and over again! She thought her grandma already knew.
Mari next talks to Lupe who wants to know why Mari is hesitating to marry Jesus but Mari changes the subject. She wants to know what’s going on with Lupe and Augi! Lupe says that it’s not a subject that is easy to discuss but Mari promises not to judge her, she just wants to know what is going on. We don’t hear the answer.
When MD finally leaves, Augi asks how it’s going with the proof to incriminate that traitor Fede and the lawyer says it’s just a matter of days. He asks if Augi is going to sign the power of attorney and he says he will. He wants to keep using the anger of MD for something? He says this is the only thing he ever really found fun about Vicky?!?!?!… I guess, I mean he was definitely trying to piss her off in that meeting so Augi has a plan!
Conchita goes to see Augi and it sounds like a horrible idea to me – to be unable to talk and have to listen to this dude babble on and on, no thanks! He does babble with the same ol’ I want to change and do things right and win back Lupe!’ But it turns out Conchita can talk!!! And she says no way Jose!!! Stay away from my daughter!!! You don’t deserve her, you’re a murderer!!! Conchita straight up says Augi killed Victoriano and he needs to tell the truth.
Fede sends his thug to distract Vallero so he can look for something in Jesus’s office. He finds a pic of Jesus with some dude dressed up in service uniforms (I have no idea how to tell army, air force, what have you, some sort of armed service) which is proof of I have no idea what in novelaland…. It works for Fede though, he takes a picture of the picture. He’s sure this will convince Augi that Jesus done did it! Adrian walks in and Fede leaves quickly claiming he came to bring Jesus some documents but since he’s not here, he’ll leave. He drops his papers and when he bends over to pick them up Adrian sees the tell-tale butterfly tattoo. Cara de Impactada!
Augi doesn’t deny killing Victoriano, instead he tells Concha he did it to get revenge because apparently Augi was Lisardo to Victoriano’s Augusto! Complete with the whole death bed promise to Papa to get revenge!!! (Talk about your cautionary tale!) Of course, Octavio Sanchez was a good and loving father and Augi’s own dead was apparently a cold, child beating jerk, but Augi’s beat-up face is still looking like the ‘20 years later’ picture of where revenge takes you. Augi tries every excuse from: daddy beat me to I’m so hurt by the loss of Carloca, to get back into Conchita’s good graces but Conchita is unrelenting. She too, utters the dun dun dun phrase of ‘not as long as I live!’ and I hope she isn’t signing her own death sentence!!! She tells Augi he needs to confess and she says she will always love him but she’s done making excuses for him. She resolutely gets up and leaves as Augi begs her to come back and to forgive him!
The lawyer brings the signed paperwork to MD but she notices some properties or money (?) are missing. She wants to know what Augi is up to! She wants EVERYTHING! He better not so much as put one of the properties in the name of one of her daughters. Vicky wants it all! But the truth is much worse than that, Augi managed somehow to put a part of the property in the name of Guadalupe Garcia!!!! And on that hilarious note, our episode ends!
Laura shocked me with that stupid declaration. I don't get her, like at all.
How did Conchita suddenly regain the power of speech? I couldn't believe it and thought I'd missed a scene or something.
Why do they keep dragging that Lupe+ Augusto=stupid plot nonsense? What's the point of that 'relationship'? So now it seems he is actually using her to take away what belongs to Victoriana.
SpanProf, thanks for this, ‘And in the same part of the prison as a man only awaiting trial!’ LOL IIRC it was Vicky that destroyed the house once before. Not personally but she hired someone to do it and they accidentally struck when Domi was in the house and she got hurt.
Just the highlights today. I'm actually happy that I am not doing a full recap of Conchita's death scene, it was sweet scene in a way, her reuniting with d. Abel and dancing into the sunset.
I will say now that it's confirmed, that this was my suspicion from the 'lying' opening credits. I had a feeling Conchita was going to join Abel because the clip where they are standing together feels like they are watching over everyone - and the way it's backlit it feels like it's watching over from the other side... either way, I'm sorry they decided to kill of Conchita but like I said it's kind of sweet that they showed her seeing Abel and then dancing off with him. This was the biggest event of the day.
Also notable:
Augi got released??? WHY? HOW? HUH? I think I got distracted or something because I didn't see when that actually happened but he came home just in time to be told of Conchita's death. So you were right, SpanProf, he didn't kill her but she's gone anyway. Prior to his release, Fede saw the picture of Jesus and buddy and was able to jump straight to the conclusion that Jesus is a secret agent - I mean I would have jumped to the conclusion that he previously served in the army forces, but I don't understand the jump to secret agent. Either way, Augi is now convinced Jesus was behind his downfall like Fede wanted, which is true of course. Augi later finds and kidnaps Elisa!! The boys are trying to find her.
Sam and Viv have a picnic and I tried and tried to listen to every word of the song but I didn't recognize it. Viv wants to know more about Sam but he hasn't shared muchs. It seems clear that he doesn't think his life is too impressive or interesting. He makes the mistake of mentioning he's nothing compared to Domi. A very quick Viv catches on right away that Sam has a big adoration of Domi and there's a hint of concern.
Carloca raided the fridge and stole enough food to make it clear she's forgotten that she's no longer eating for two! MD is so done with Carloca she doesn't want 'her' ashes in her house, and she's definitely not allowing Domi to throw her a service. This isn't even the most horrible thing she does this episode, she outdoes her horrible self at the end of the episode to crash Conchita's wake to drunkenly announce to everyone that Mariluz is the bastard daughter of Augusto!!!! I am just so turned off by the fact that she has no qualms interrupting everyone's mourning to create drama....textbook definition of shameless!
Renata comes to see Emma in person and tells her that Rod tried to rape her too and now she understands. She should have believed Emma, she just thought Rod was joking but now she knows he's a creep. Emma thought Rod was just out to get her but if he attacked Ren too, Em realizes they can't be the only victims. They set out to prove Rod is a budding rapist by following him around and spying on all his interactions with woman - which was just weird, but it's a weirdness we are used to by now.
Laura does a 180 and decides she will bow out gracefully to allow Adrian to be with Emma which Em is thrilled about until Adrian tells her he found out he's Fede's son!!! They still can't be together because they are COUSINS!!! Kissing Cousins!! LOL Can't resist, but I am sure we'll end up learning something that detracts from this belief.
That's it for today.
For those who've asked what's coming after Guerrero I can tell you what Zap2it is showing as of now. Keep in mind Zap2it isn't always reliable several weeks out and this may change. But for now, it shows that Guerrero's El Fin will be next Weds and next week will finish with double episodes of Marimar on Thurs and Friday. Then the following Monday Vino el Amor will be showing in the 2pm timeslot.
Vino El Amor was originally broadcast in 2016-2017 and it was recapped here on Caray when it was originally broadcast. It was very popular I believe. I started watching it but I never finished it. It stars Gabriel Soto and Irina Baeva as the protags.
Short Wiki description: David (Gabriel Soto) loses his wife Lisa (Laura Carmine) in a seemingly unintentional accident, perpetrated by her obsessive sister Graciela (Kimberly Dos Ramos). David becomes depressed to such a degree that he begins to neglect his children, Fernanda (Sofia Castro) and Bobby (Emilio Beltrán Ulrich), and the vineyard he loves so much. His sinister mother-in-law Lilian (Azela Robinson) and supposed best friend Juan (Christian de la Campa) try to take advantage of the situation to steal David's fortune. An unexpected arrival to the vineyard alters their plans.
Luciana (Irina Baeva), a cheerful and impetuous youngster who lived in the vineyard with her family many years ago, was deported to Mexico along with her father Marcos (Alejandro Ávila). This was caused by Lilian, whose goal was to get rid of the entire family, especially Luciana's mother Marta (Cynthia Klitbo), for revenge of past troubles, as she sent officials after them despite having their documents in order and were in progress of becoming U.S. citizens. After her father died, Luciana returns as a beautiful young woman, and disrupts David's life. In their relationship of love and hate, Luciana changes everything for the better and David starts to love life again, along with gaining Luciana's affection. However, with Lilian's hatred towards the lower class due to the fact that her husband cheated on her with a servant, Graciela's obsession for David, and Fernanda's dislike for Luciana, the trio plan to prevent Luciana from ever staying in the United States.
As you can see from the description Christian de la Campa is in this one too. He plays the antagonist role and more of a minor character but if you're curious about seeing him play a bad boy there's that. I personally prefer the good guy characters, but I might try watching it again. I will say that I'm a fan of Kimberly dos Ramos (who plays Graciela) but I thought it was so strange she was cast in this role because of the age discrepancy. There's usually a lot said about older actors playing young roles but this role probably was late 30s maybe even 40s character and Kimberly was like 24 when she played the role. She's good though! Also, Veronica Jaspeado is in this and I love her!!
Like I said, I may watch but I am going to take a recapping break after Guerrero. This last year or so has been so full of changes for me and just in the last couple months, I've both changed jobs and moved apartments and just been going going going. I'm going to take the summer to just get settled in. Relax and find my new norm. I will continue watching, especially if there's something we want to watch together and discuss but I won't be doing any formal recaps!
What do you all think? Anyone want to watch Vino el Amor? Or any of the other daytime shows? There are the offerings on Primetime and Telemundo too, of course!
