No time for recap yesterday. Some quick notes.

Carlo a poisoned Jesus with strawberries!!! WTH happened to the pie???? Anyway Jesus is in the hospital and not dead bc Selena finally came by to see Sam and found Jesus whom Carloca just left on the floor begging for help!! Loca does nothing to hide her actions all but admitting it to Vicky and out right admitting it to daddy. She didn’t want to do it though, Jesus made her!!! She doesn’t realize he is still alive.

Elisa’s first day as Tío isn’t going well and I’m pretty sure both Selena and Domi are suspicious of this ‘man’. They are all waiting for news at the hospital and I am also pretty sure Selena has been out of her cage for more than 2 hours, so there’s that too! Speaking of bad first days, Capt. Justica doesn’t even make it through his first date with Domi before she figures out that he is Sam!!! Lol!! He keeps ending all his sentences with ‘yo’ and gives himself away. After he takes his mask off in public which is a huge no no, Sam proposes MARRIAGE!!!! This poor boy. Domi lets him down as gently as she can telling him she’s in love with Damian. The cute part of this whole disaster is when Sam pulls out a whole stack of cash and hands it to the waiter saying ‘I won this for you!!!’

Damian declared in the Bautista investigation but we didn’t get to actually hear any questions or answers.

Mari and Patty are getting ready to leave and Patty finds out Jesus is in the hospital. Augi urges him to keep this from Mari so she will still leave town with him! Will he???

Conchita and Abel win the competition in Veracruz but then Concha suffers a spell! Is something wrong with Conchita?

Carlota is interesting. She is unstable and yet notcold-blooded enough to keep quiet about what she did. I mean, everyone would have found out eventually but her outright admiting it was interesting.
I hope Patrichio at least won't end up dead. Though as it's no en nombre del amor, he should be fine. I still don't get why this telenovela went off the rails like this. I wonder what those actors think when they read the script and realise what they'll have to say and do. I know it's their job, but when the plot or acharacter's behaviour gets to absurd, it's hard not to complain I imagine.
 

Guerrero. That may not have been a recap, Darcy, but you hit the main points. I too wonder about the pie. I also held my breath when Vicki just pointed to the dropped strawberries and Mica sniffed them but did not taste. Whoo! Carlota told Augi that she had poisoned Jesus. Now what, if anything, will he do about it? Domi and Capitan Justicia's "date": Not to mention, Samuel's eyes, and their expression, are very distinctive. Good thing Sam is off the hook in the Bautista investigation. Dare we hope that that was the last we'll hear about it? At least until the true culprit is revealed.
 

Corazón Guerrero - Capítulo 1O4 - Part 1 of 3

We begin with the Renata Redemption Tour - Renata is organizing a surprise party for Emma and ordering everyone around. Belén is not having it. Renata is in charge of drinks. This may not end well. Mica stalls Emmis while Renata, Rodrigo, Belén, and Sergio hang 6 balloons and pour 6 drinks (1 non-alcoholic). Emma is surprised and forgives Renata. What this party really needs: STRAWBERRIES a la Carloca.

Domis thinks they should tell Mariluz about Jesus’ strawberry jam. She calls and Patricio picks up her phone. He listens to the devil on his shoulder (Augi previously saying get out of Dodge) and places her phone in her purse. Mari is busy saying goodbye to Lupe.

Dra. Vega and her team have responded to Carloca’s latest meltdown. Augi sugarcoats the events “Jesús had an “accident.’” She is sedated and carted off. Augi says they’ll all exit via the side door as 13-days sober Emma is entertaining some friends. Dra. Vega says we should all be proud of Lil Soberpants as she’s doing very well and hasn’t relapsed. This is foreshadowing 1O1.

Adrián and Laura are tipsy - leaving their celebration of Adrian’s Student of the Century turnaround. They hear music. It’s Emma’s party. They crash. They dance, so naturally, Emma grabs Rodrigo to dance. The budding lawyers then kiss, and Emma stalks off! Belén and Renata comfort her. Where is Mica with that strawberry platter?

Doménica can’t reach Mariluz OR Patricio so she calls Guadaloopy who confirms the lovebirds are en route to the airport. Doménica decides she will go to the airport because Mariluz HAS TO KNOW about Jesús’ critical condition. Damián offers to take her via motorbike and they’re off. At the airport Mariluz’s Spidey Senses are tingling. She feels like something may be wrong.

Now, before our show went off the rails, I believe we all agreed that Jesús was only tolerable when he was half-naked and asleep. Now he’s half-naked and intubated - but this time he’s having flashbacks to good times with Octavio and his brethren. Next he’s flatlining. Ruh oh. The show goes all E.R. - interspersed with flashbacks of the Guerreros journey to Elisa. Sweet Samu is really hoping for the best. Elías is loud praying in the chapel.

Patricio is being a total sweetheart - getting Mariluz some tea and handling their luggage while being a total FINK - not saying a word about Jesús’ accidente.
 

Corazón Guerrero - Capítulo 1O4 - Part 2 of 3

Rodrigo seizes the opportunity to bad talk Adrián and try to get back in Emma’s hot pants, I mean good graces. Ok. Remember a long time ago before our show went off the rails when Rodrigo was caught red-handed snooping and removing items from her “delicates” drawer. That arc never went anywhere. I would be much more entertained if the real reason Rodrigo was doing all this was for tips on wearing said delicates. Instead we get the same old tired and cliche claptrap. He kisses her. Adrián sees it. She objects. Rodrigo slithers off.

Mariluz “6th Sense” García can’t stand it anymore and just HAS to call Jesús. What is this? Her phone is turned off? No puede ser. She calls his phone (which is at the garage) and gets voicemail. She decides to keep calling.

The doctor comes in and tells the family that ICU’s sexiest patient has survived the operation. Cheers erupt…BUT he’s not out of danger. Elías demands to know what’s wrong. They won’t have an answer until all the test results are back. Elías is allowed to see him.

Out of the freakin’ blue, Valero suggests that they bring the Man Diary and read to Jesús. Now ya’ll know I love me some Valero, and I have championed the Man Diary since before I started recapping, but ¿Qué the hell? The writers are really all over the place.

I was about to question if maybe the writing team changed for this trimester…but then their penchant for dead horses reared its gluey head. Patricio (now a certified fink) is going on and on about how this is a new start for them (symbolically and literally) blah blah blah. Doménica and Damián are at the airport trying desperately to connect with Mariluz & (our new) Villalba Lite. Mariluz doesn’t know if she is clairvoyant or in the throes of IBS but SOMETHING IS WRONG. Patricio goes to get her some water.

For reasons unknown to logic and good writing, Elías starts to remove her costume (transforming into Elsa) while begging Jesús to snap out of it. THIS just as Augi is heading over to check on his yerno. He walks into ICU as casual as if it were the cafeteria. A doctor stops him in his tracks and tells him (A) He can’t be in there, (B) He needs to register, (C) He needs ICU-approved clothing and (D) to get out. Augi, realizing it’s Jesús’s attending physician, takes this opportunity to request a little chit chat - probably to get in front of the impending poison diagnosis. Elías/Elsa smells a rat.
 

Corazón Guerrero - Capítulo 1O4 - Part 3 of 3

Over @ Dra. Vega’s Institution for Psychotics, Bulimics, and Annoying Rich Chicks, Carloca is getting a supersized bag of intravenous Liquid Calm Down. She’s having a conversation with a phantom Jesús (who’s looking good once again as he’s silent). She cries and pleads her Koo Koo case. Love this actress! Love that Phantom Jesús remains silent and then leaves.

Augi meets with some hospital mucky muck and is told that his son-in-law has been poisoned! Augi throws his weight around and says Jesús clearly drank something “by mistake” and there better be no scandal. Hospital Guy says he’s in charge and won’t be told what to do. Augi says, oh, but he will!

Mariluz gets a call from Lic. Ávalos, Patricio’s assistant. The takeaway here is that she has assigned iPhone’s Classic Blues sound to his ringtone AND she learns that Pat actually requested the immediate transfer. Dun dun DUN. Mariluz smells a rat and immediately confronts Pinocchio or whatever he calls himself.

Augi has gotten a hospital expansion instantly approved and expects the doctor to do his bidding. The doctor is summoned; Jesús is shutting down.

Patricio admits and justifies his lies and then mentions Jesús. Just then Doménica & Damián call to report that Jesús is dying. Patricio gets a well-deserved Riot Act. His ring is returned. Mari exits stage right. Team Patricio Population: OOO.

Valero & Mica are playing detective and reviewing surveillance footage for clues on Jesús’ sudden illness. They spy Carlota (ID’d as “Carloca” by Valero - LOL) traipsing in with a bowl of strawberries. Mica says she knows those “stinky strawberries.” Jesús probably refused to eat them and that’s why she returned to the house so annoyed. They wonder if she’s behind it all and deem her certainly capable. Valero asks if she’s at home and Mica notes the only one at home right now (partying down) is Emma.

Ugh. We go back to the party. Laura goes to get more drinks. Adrián almost pukes. Emma grabs him and takes him home.

Mariluz runs through the airport like it’s on fire. Patricio cries and kisses his returned ring. Mari finds Damián and Doménica. Mari and Damián will go straight to the hospital. Doménica will stay behind and make sure her luggage gets back home, etc. Thats what Unbeknownst Half-Sisters Are For…

Emma and drunk Adrián sneak past Detectives Valero & Mica (who are too busy to notice). Drunk Adrián passes out on a twin bed (Isn’t this Elisa’s room where the beds were pushed together?!!). Their teeny bopper song swells, and out of the freakin’ blue, Emma decides to stay with Drunk Adrián and is looking quite predatory. We better get a PSA for (drunken) sexual assault. It goes both ways!

Elías is talking to Jesús. We get a cute flashback of her reading him stories and the brothers being brothers. Damián and Sam are also in the ICU. She begs him to fight. To live. She cries and they all hug.

This has to be the first telenovela I've seen where I actually kept thinking Mari should leave with Patrichio because Jesus is way too annoying to have to tolerate him for the remaining episodes.

Thank you O.S. another fantastic recap!! The writers are off the rails but you are on point!!! Witty, hilarious and informative!

I'll take a pass at commenting on Renata's little shindig for Em! I don't miss high school drama at all and these children are exceedingly immature.

I am sorry Patty's character got murdered by the writers, but I don't blame Mari for breaking up with him! It's hard to believe that a man as good looking as Patty with as much going for him as he has would be so insecure!! But then again, I've known some truly insecure women who were stunningly beautiful so I guess it's possible. Anyway, Patty turned out to be as insecure as a little boy and he lost Mari as he lied to try to keep her. I don't remember him giving her a ring though, when did I miss that? I must have got distracted or bored or something.


I also really like the actress who plays Carloca! She's done a fantastic job!

Good observation about Jesus being likable half-naked and asleep, or just not talking! That is the criteria we agreed upon! LOL

Selena is still at the hospital and it's been way longer than 2 hours so I'm worried about her, and her brother whose name I don't remember.

Elias didn't hold up well throughout the day. I saw several people other than just Augi giving her the side eye. It's a disguise that works well for brief encounters or maybe she would have done fine without the distress of her son being in critical condition. Either way, the scenes of her very much acting like Elisa while trying to be Elias were just awkward and cringeworthy.

The flashbacks are cute, Sam is cute, Valero is adorable; the rest of this a mess with only 16 episodes left to figure it all out! Should be a fun wild ride to the end!! LOL

As of it, Zapit looks like the schedule for next week will be identical to this week with pre-emptions on tues/weds so our last 16 episodes will be spread out a little more and sharing space with Futbol. :(
 

Guerrero. Another excellent recap, O.S.! "Renata Redemption Tour." Love it! Of course, Renata is sill a nasty prejudiced snob. But even she wouldn't deserve Carlota's strawberries. Patricio should have let Mariluz know about Jesus's poisoning immediately and then accompanied her to the hospital. That would have made him perfect partner material. Of course, this way Mariluz has an excellent excuse to dump him. I suppose that was a way to get rid of him without Viewerville's getting too upset. Ho hum. Jesus keeps flatlining and coming back. Wonder how long they'll let that go on. I love your title for Dr. Vega's medical center. Dang! More futbol!
