TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#2): Secretos de Sangre, Juego de Mentiras, y más: Week of May 22, 2023
Here's Page 2 for the week. The current telenovelas are as follows (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):
9 - 11PM - Secretos de Sangre**
12 - 1AM - Juego de Mentiras**
**Telemundo has apparently scheduled the new Turkish novela, Secretos de Sangre, to run for two hours each weekday evening, from 9 to 11PM. Juego de Mentiras has been relegated to the 12AM to 1AM time slot. Whether this will be true just for the first week or will continue for the duration of Secretos de Sangre isn't yet clear. Telemundo's own program guide is, to put it politely, rather confusing about this. More information about Secretos de Sangre can be found on the Telemundo website.
Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.
By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

deb,
Thanks very much for the mini-cap of yesterday's episode of Juego. I don't have time to comment right now, but I do want to ask why you said "btw, it looks like there will be no shows on Fridays." I just looked at both the Telemundo program guide and Zap2It, and both show Juego at midnight (though I suppose that may mean midnight tonight) and 2 hours of Secretos de Sangre on Friday. ??
I will do some sort of recap for the midnight showing of this one. Probably will appear tomorrow afternoon.
And, yes, deb, it appears they're skipping Friday altogether. I never bother to look up ratings, but Juego must not have done that well. I am surprised. It has a great cast of good actors. Cynthia Klitbo is SO good at being despicable. And Big Ed maintains his sex appeal way past his days of being a young galán. He also seems to be in better physical shape than he was in the last couple of ones where he played a villain (Falsa Identidad).
Well, we are just at the mercy of Telemundo's capricious scheduling.
I watched the first two hours of this one, You could tell from the very beginning that the attractive young lawyer and the prosecutor who just broke it off with his fiancé were going to be an item.
It looks like Telemundo has given up on comedy and romance in the classical style. We seem to be getting violence and murder for prime time.
I thought the acting in Secretos de Sangre was pretty good. I might have stuck with it if they limited it to one hour a night. I like the actor playing the young lawyer. She's beautiful and smart.
I also suspect that NBC/Telemundo is enjoying saving money by running the Turkish novelas. I guess they only have to pay for dubbing. They have some sort of partnership with the Turkish production company.
Well, as we all seem to agree, Telemundo is treating Viewerville very badly.
Juanita, I just read your comment. My DirecTV guide shows no Juego on Friday night, actually 12:00AM Saturday. But there will be one tonight, Thursday, actually Friday at 12:00AM.
I just realized that if I don't comment now, I probably won't be able to do so at all tonight. So...One thing I found interesting was César's talking about a witness, a woman named Berenice who works at the amusement park. She apparently saw him when DAMA was shot, and he was not the one who shot her.
I'm saddened by the fact that Valeria's son is going to turn out to be a murderer. She deserves better. Chuy admits to Valeria (who doesn't yet know he's her son) that he has done some not-so-good things, but that doesn't exactly describe his having killed at least three women: Estela, Jacinta, and Lucy.
My favorite scenes in last night's episode were Adriana's conversation with Pascual at the start and Camila's confronting GumChew about his not having a warrant to search César's house. Loved his offering Elvira and Camila some gum.
Gotta go. Again, thanks very much, deb!
Yes, novelera, I think what you say agrees with what I saw. It may be just a question of how to regard midnight. Anyway, there will be an episode tonight, but not tomorrow night.
Woo hoo
My husband while channel surfing just discovered this. Yippee it is evil Emir of Endless love. I always thought he got a raw deal for a crazed psycho. Now he is a good guy. I have great hopes for him and he doesn't have to compete with the most beautiful hair on earth.

#54 – El Primer Hogar – Parte 1 de 2
Adriana, aka Sister Mariana, meets her roommate, Sr. Surana, and does what she always does. She manipulates her. She tells her she can’t leave the orphanage/convent, but she asks the woman to get some IT person to get into Mariana Stanford’s computer.
Renata continues her horrible behavior toward her sister. Valeria tells her, in front of Olga, that RR always envied her because she was their father’s favorite. And she came to hate her father only when he took away her baby.
Chuy looks at Lucy’s obit online. Olga can’t look him in the eye when he asks about Valeria’s child.
Alejandra tells Olga and Chuy about Eva’s “accident”.
The same JetAir employee (can’t seem to remember her name) shows FJ Eva’s social media, and he remarks that she’s not in any of them. Pascual and Renata come in looking sad about Eva. RR dumps the work of organizing a company memorial on the young woman.
The Mother Superior introduces Adriana to the orphans. She proceeds to charm them, making faces.
Again, in the past, Chuy tells Adriana over the phone, while she’s in her house where she lives with César, about the mansion where he’s lived since he was 10 years old.
Valeria is saying goodbye to Tomás and Inés. Tomás is not surprised to hear that RR also ruined Valeria’s life. Inés announces that Adriana grew up on an orphanage. Maybe Valeria’s baby didn’t die, knowing how RR lies.
GumChew tells FJ, Pascual, and Renata about Eva’s car. When FJ and Pascual leave the room, GumChew tells Renata about Cami’s confronting him about searching César’s house.
It’s César’s birthday, and Noelia, Elvira, and Cami come to visit him. César lies like crazy about the good meals and friendly prisoners who are preparing a birthday celebration for him.
FJ greets GumChew and asks for his professional opinion about Eva. [Ha! Professional?]
Eva’s sports car arrives at JetAir. Everyone wonders why she didn’t wait for it to take on vacation.
The awful guard who wanted $ to protect César from the thugs, gives his family the bum’s rush. Before Cami leaves, César again asks Cami to find Berenice from the amusement park. She says she’ll do it if he agrees to have Ray as his lawyer.
In the not-so-distant past Adriana has come to visit Chuy at the mansion. They swim and then talk. He tells her the truth about not owning the place. She’s irritated. But he tells her he just wants her to have a look at what the two of them could have. He tells her they should fool this family. He has a plan.
Adriana tells Sr. Susana that she betrayed her best friend.
Ray tells RR about Cami begging him to represent César and that César refused. She tells him it would be easy, as his lawyer, to prevent César’s ever getting out of prison. He refuses to risk his license. Then she threatens to have Ale put in jail for the things she’s done. Just then Cami calls to say that César has accepted Ray as his attorney.
Ale finds out about Lucy’s death and confronts Chuy.
The JetAir employee tells FJ about the tickets to Spain for his father and Mariana Stanford.
Tomás and Inés come to the convent to ask questions. Adriana panics when she hears them come in.
Tomás spots a really cute orphan. Maybe this is how he gets a child.
RR tells Ray over and over that they are family. Ray seems onto her. He tells her that listening to her insist he’s starting to doubt César’s guilt.
FJ starts putting things together remembering his father meeting DAMAS.
The Mother Superior won’t tell Tomás and Inés anything about the boy who was here, but Adriana overhears about the child being Valeria’s.
FJ tells his father he’s done with all the lies. “Why were you going to Spain with Adriana, the woman I loved?"
excellent recap novelera!
I find the show actually more enjoyable lately as the writers instead of hiding things from us are giving us little reveals, and especially the backstory of our characters.
so the whole 'Mariana plays the del Rios' looks like it was Chuy's idea, and they got the million for their house on the beach, when... was it Adriana falling for Pascual that ripped it?
FJ is looking pretty competent in his detective work (for a change), he even spotted the similarity between Eva and Adriana's fake death, drowning but no body.
loving Renata being freaked, what should we do, dig up Eva's body and throw it in the water?
so will sister Adriana make the Val/Chuy connection, that he was family all along and didn't have to kill anyone.
and Ale is so totally caught in the del Rio crossfire.
will we get to see Eva's new car?
thanks again novelera!
Novelera, thank you for a snappy recap. This show is getting very interesting ,but I keep forgetting to record it .
It seemed odd to me that maneater DAMAS never stumbled onto big, hunky Chuy. Now It appears that he was the mastermind behind the wheeling and dealing . Is he really obsessed over Ale , or is that just a diversion?. He must have a lot of animosity toward the family .
I wonder why Chuy was sudden!y brought out of the orphanage and into the mansion. Renata needed a gardener and wanted to train him early? Who decided to bring him to the mansion and why didnt it happen until he was ten?
P.s. My tablet still changes " Chuy" to "Thug." It knew all along ! Amazing technology. It sure looked like big Chuy in the Bugs Bunny suit moving so agilely and quickly.
MANY THANKS, novelera, for a terrific recap.
Well, the plot does seem to be moving along. My guess is that César's urging Cami to find Berenice may turn out to be very important. I'm also glad to see that Ray does have a few shreds of decency left. It's possible he will eventually turn against Rotten Renata, especially if Camila does locate the witness Berenice, and B backs up César's claim that he's innocent.
I too was happy to see Tomás's positive response to the cute boy at the orphanage. That boy may wind up as Ines' and Tomás's adopted son. I'm still hoping there will also be a child born to T and I, either through IVF or....
I loved it when a very upset Renata asks, "What should we do, dig up Eva's corpse and throw it into the water?" and Pascual says "Not a bad idea!"
Susanlynn, I love it that your clever computer always changes Chuy to Thug. Has it given you any more advance hints about the plot?
I'm somewhat confused about who knows what about Adriana and Mariana. My impression is/was that FJ always knew Mariana, not Adriana. When he saw the videotape of his father going into "Mariana's" hotel room after her death, he thought that it was Mariana who had been shot and killed. But in the current episode, FJ demands to know what Pascual's relationship was with Adriana, and FJ talks about Adriana as the person he loved. Huh? Can someone please untangle my confused brain?
Juanita, it's definitely hard to keep all the clues straight. Way back when I sort of remember some scenes where FJ had figured things out about DAMAS. He was crazy about her and discovered IIRC that she rented that fancy car, worked as a pole dancer, and also about her life as César's wife. I remember him sort of breaking into her and César's house and seeing the family photos.
I think he figured out that Adriana was pretending to be Mariana del Molina and Diana de Nadie. I don't think he knows there were twins and thus a real Mariana Stanford.
Susanlynn, glad you're staying with us. This is definitely an intriguing plot.
Deb, glad you spotted last night's reveals: that Chuy likely cooked up the whole idea of getting that money he always wanted from the Del Rios. And that Adriana knowing that Chuy is actually family could prove interesting. Of course this is a TN and lots of things don't make sense. But, if I were Valeria, I would insist on my half of JetAir instead of limping away from her overbearing sister.
Juanita, I'll give a try but yes, it is confusing, the del Rios knew Adriana as Mariana, the girl FJ fell for, but through the investigations they all figured out Mariana was Adriana, but then assumed she was posing as Mariana again as she was shot and killed. FJ backtracks to the San Diego hotel to find out she was using the name Mariana Stanford, and that Pascual was posing as her husband to collect her things, so last night FJ learns from Sandra that Pascual may have been planning on running away with a new lover which is what upset Eva, and that Pascual made plane reservations with a Mariana Stanford, so he has just now made the connection. (even though he is getting it all wrong because that was the real Mariana Stanford)
does that help?
what's confusing to me is the real Mariana Stanford, apparently the police just assumed it was Adriana and never investigated, as no one ever called her husband to say she was dead.
Thanks novelera and Deb. So...nobody in this story ever met the real Mariana ????
I am sorry I missed Adriana in the nun's habit making her signature kooky faces .
Is Juego on tonight at midnight ?
Susanlynn, no Juego at midnight on Friday going forward. From my DirecTV sked looks like it will be shown four times a week, at midnight, Monday through Thursday.
Susanlynn, to follow up on what novelera has said, Juego de Mentiras will be shown four times a week. The only confusing thing is whether to consider "midnight" as the end of the day or the beginning of the day. Telemundo's program guide, and also Zap2it and Comcast/Xfinity, all show 12AM as the START of the day. So at the START of Tuesday (what most of us would consider Monday night), Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday there will be an episode of Juego de Mentiras. The Friday episode occurred at 12 AM last night!
I'm not sure whether I've made things clearer or more confusing. Oh well...
Thanks very much, novelera and deb, for your helpful clarifications. Yes, when Mariana was shot and killed, relatively few people knew that she was not Adriana but rather Adriana's twin. As you pointed out, deb, the police simply assumed that the person killed was Adriana. And IIRC, César may have had to go to the morgue to identify the body (since Adriana was his wife). Interestingly, he DID identify her as Adriana. But I'm still a bit hazy about whether FJ realizes that there are two separate people, Adriana and Mariana. If he thought he was madly in love with Mariana, and that Mariana and Adriana are the same person, why does he refer to her last night as Adriana? Someone, after all, was killed in the amusement park.
Okay, I'm all caught up now.
Thanks to everyone who wrote the last recaps.
It's very annoying that they don't really clear what 12 am they mean. Couldn't they start it at 11:59 or 12:01? It would be less confusing. The whole 12am slot was an absurd idea anyway...
I can recap Thursday's episode and probably next Thursday's episode too.
Weirdo: Guessing Telemundo will be waiting on the upcoming Telenovela with Fernando Colunga & Ana Brenda Contreras to debut soon hopefully.
Speaking of "JUEGO": Villains still winning ?
Steve Boudreaux
I would be interested in hearing everyone's ideas as to the death of Mariana.
Mariana from Miami would have to be in place.
FJ was there per a phone call with Adriana.
Cesar was there with the fake passport per call by Pluto.
Pascual who knew the time and place from FJ had a ticket to the park.
Ale needed an alibi from Chuy who so far has none.
Chuy keeps seeing flashbacks of the kill. (but why would he know to be there)
Bugs Bunny would lead Cesar to the gun, that we assume was used.
Pascual said he killed her, and also knew it was Mariana.
1) did Adriana set up the kill to convince Cara she was dead, (but there is no remorse at the death of her sister).
2) the kill was set up so that FJ would know Adriana was dead and gone.
3) Cesar was set up so he would move on, or go to prison.
