OT/Univision:

I have a suggestion for Univision: Move those Turkish TV Dramas over to Daytime!

Well today's episode included the time jump! That happened sooner than I thought but I am glad. No more worrying about Luci getting sold by the cartel. It looks like she grew up safe and sound. More adults equals more eye candy but I'm not sure yet who all the adults are compared to all the children....I'll get it though. I did figure out Miguel, Pearla, and Luciana of course.

The Lisa murder scene was brutal. Why did she go to that river spot looking for David? Why would she be there? There might be a reason that I've forgotten now, but she may have just not been thinking rationally with all of the bombs dropping around her - her mom, Juan and well not Grace since she already knew Grace wanted her husband, but still stressful!

I guess we'll be seeing Luci arrive back at the vineyard soon. The question is will Marcos be with her? All the talk about Marcos working too hard and his heart has me worried for him.

"VINO":

Darcy: I also cringed at Lisa's murder. I was like "NOOOOOO!" Grace must've been jealous of Lisa for a long time.

I'm also worried about Marcos' health problems too.

Vino. OMG! Luciana is getting a degree in Agriculture! If she had stayed in California she would probably have gone to UC Davis, my undergrad alma mater. I noticed that though the older children have now grown up, and the babies/toddlers are now fully into childhood, the adults haven't changed a bit. Luci went to the river because the Cristian de la Campa character told her that that's where David was. He wanted to get her away from his and her mother's nefarious financial activities.

Vino. Lisa went to the river, that is. Just when we had seen her survive a supposedly difficult pregnancy.

Vino. Oh wow! Juan knows that Graciela is responsible for her sister's death. That should lead to some interesting plot developments. And she must be one of the most heartless novela characters ever invented, as she seems to think she can use David's (and children's) grief to her own advantage, rather than feeling either guilty or moved by it. I hope that Luciana is able to graduate, go through the ceremony, etc, as it seems as if graduation is a few weeks away. Cute scene of Marcos pretending to be a galan though.

First SpanProf - I noticed yesterday that the adults hadn't changed much after the time jump, but considering they were already playing characters much older (except Gabriel Soto?) I don't know how much they could age them. I remember thinking (and I might have already said this, sorry if so) that it was really weird they cast Kimberly dos Ramos (Graciela) in this to play a character that must be close to 40, when she was still in her early 20s when this was filmed.

The other age think that I think is interesting: if you read the original recaps you'll see the patio was talking about how Luci was going to be too young to be a match for David and the actors Gabriel Soto (David) and Irina Beava (Luciana) are in a relationship IRL now, though they weren't at the time.

Juan suspects Grace, but I don't thinks he KNOWS. He thinks he does, though. The only good thing I can say about Juan so far is that his glare is smoldering!!!

Lisa (or her stunt double) was totally moving in the water, arms and kicking; I thought we had a spontaneous recovery for a second.

One thing they said on the other patio, was that when David first came back with Lisa and Lilian and Grace came out David said to Grace that she should have been the one to die, that's not what I heard though, I heard him say that HE should have been the one to die. I almost want to re-watch and see which is accurate, almost.....lol

Vino. Yep, Darcy, they don't always seem to cast novela actors by age! I too am pretty sure that David said he should have been the one to die. In fact, we saw him almost commit suicide . The only thing keeping him alive seems to be his children. About the Lisa character moving her arms: asking an actor to actually drown would be going a bit too far in method acting. :)

Vino

Lol you are right of course about the drowning! But they didn’t have to put the scene where her arms and legs were moving in the episode. Surely they could have edited to show only non mobile shots, right?

Vino. :) Oh well.

Vino

So sad that Marcos dies right after he finally gets his visa!! So cruel on the part of the writers!!

Our first glimpse of Sonia (Lilian's assistant) has her all buttoned up and all about the rules - she even threatened to make Marta and Miguel's life miserable if they didn't get to their positions on the chart - but somehow I didn't quite buy it.... I had a feeling there's some mirth behind the strictness (not a spoiler I have no idea what happens, I such saw laughter in her eyes) It's Veronica Jaspeado, so I am sure it will be a fun character, it will be interesting how she develops.

It looks like the other guy on the ranch - is it Carlos? has a thing for the boss's daughter; and Leon likes the other one (don't remember if they said her name) who clearly has a thing for Miguel. Miguel is besotted with Luciana and Luci seems to feel the same about Miguel, at least for now, but the whole premise of the show is the idea of the May-December romance so there's going to be a whole lot of hormones and romance going on - good thing they have all that wine! LOL

Vino. Yep, Darcy, the classic theme of traditional Spanish comedy: "Yo por vos, vos por otro." We had been seeing evidence of Marcos's possible heart problems ever since he was deported, but of course he ignored it--which is actually pretty common. Too bad Luciana wasn't trained in cpr. Glad we are rid of Graciela, at least for a while. David's depression seems to be getting worse and worse (or at least not really getting better), and he is finally beginning to notice its effect on his children. I presume that Luciana will come back to California to save him, which I expect will be the theme of the rest of the novela. I am such a sucker for stories of redemption and healing! Bring it! And I hope that Lilian, Graciela and Juan all get what's coming to them--which they no doubt will, since this is a telenovela. So satisfying!
