A whole hour of whining, crying and blaming Luci! I'm starting to remember why I stopped watching this last time....sigh. I am just struck by the fact that this must be the day after they spread daddy's ashes, right? Two days after Luci returned with the news of her father's death, and Sonia's yelling that she can't stay there because she doesn't work there? The other jealous young ladies of the house are crying whore because she went swimming in the river and David is yelling at her and hiring/firing her every three minutes. Meanwhile Lillian is just evil period! But the worst of this is Martha!!! Jumping all over Luci and telling her to behave every three minutes and then suggesting the maybe it would be better if she didn't stay?? Three minutes after she finally gets reunited with her daughter after all these years she's treating her like an inconvenience and a pest.

The only fun part of today was the short-lived bonding between Luci and Bobby. I hope we get something more fun the rest of the week....

Vino. I did enjoy seeing Luciana and Bobby bond. I'll bet it lasts--especially after Luci took the blame for Bobby's breaking David's window and wrecking the picture of Lisa. With Luci's academic and practical experience in agronomy, including enology, I'd be willing to bet that she will quickly discover how Juan and Lilian are undermining the wine production. Also, she does seem to be getting David more and more involved both in his vineyard and in life. I too was disappointed in Marta.

Vino. And I'll bet Luci teaches Bobby some martial arts so he can fight back against the bullies at school.

"VINO":

Darcy: Fernanda still an annoying Bratty Expletive: I know Sofia Castro is an awesome actress portraying someone annoying & spoiled bratty.

SpanProf: Disgusted me seeing Bobby being bullied.

PS: I had no idea that Luciana had experience in agronomy & enology.

Carlito and Pearla the high school mean girls, literally! How old are these girls? They act like bratty teenagers not grown women. We learn today that they both come from sad backgrounds but that's no excuse. Marta took the 'orphaned' Booby and Fernanda under her wing but she obviously didn't do the same for these two - they grew up on the ranch too but they have no respect for her and vice versa. What a breath of fresh air to see Luci meet Susan and Susan just treats her like a normal person and a friend. Also nice that Ramon talked some sense into Marta and got her to ask Luci to stay. Marta's character makes no sense to me. A bad mother and heartless person would treat her daughter the way Marta is, but Marta is the big hearted warm family type - she should definitely be like the mother hen ready to go to battle against anyone who would dare to separate her from her child again, but instead she's passive to the extreme.....it's weird.

Poor Miguel, doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell and is too naive to realize it. I feel bad for him except I'm annoyed by all the talk and suspicion of something between Luci and David, this talk starts the min they meet and is jumping the gun on the writers part I think, the idea that these people would actually think that the man who has been in mourning for 2 years would meet the girl who came to spread her just deceased father's ashes and start putting the moves on her 45 mins later is just too far for me to suspend disbelief. It would have played better I think, if no one had even the slightest hint of suspicion at first and then the speculation started later.

Speaking of writing decisions, I think (if they were going to kill Marcos) they should have killed Marcos like a year ago or something, so that Luci and fam lost dad but then a year later Luci shows up at the ranch with Visa in hand. Then they aren't throwing scheming harpy's at her as soon as the body is burned. As it is, I just can't get past the fact that so little time has passed since her dad died. She arrived at the ranch, brought the sad news, they spread the ashes and in a blink it's all drama, accusations of whoredom, and everyone trying to get rid of her. What's in the water or the wine at that vineyard that so many people would be callous enough to go after Luci in the immediate aftermath of her father's death and in the first few days of finally being reconciled with her mom and brother? I can see having one or two - like Lillian - being that hostile and ruthless - but the half the cast is too much. Most people, even not-so-nice people, would give the girl a little bit of time and space to grieve her father before attacking....Okay, I will try to stop harping on this detail going forward and discuss about other plot points!

Speaking of, one that I was mentioned on the original recap page that I thought was a good point is why would Leon like Carlito when she so openly bad mouths his sister? I think this is a good point!!! I can't imagine wanting to date someone who was in any way rude or disrespectful to one of my siblings! Hard pass!

Vino. Great observations, Darcy! Yep, the writers definitely needed to do some script tweaking! I'm glad Bobby told David that he was the one who broke the window. I'm also glad that David is getting back to being in charge of the vineyard. Watch out crooked Juan and Liliana. Totally agree that persecuting Luciana is very middle-schoolish and silly. And it looks as if Lisa's sister is being set up by the writers to reappear fairly soon. Otherwise, though, I expect this plt would just keep going around in circles.

Fernanda joins the 'let's call Luci a whore for no reason' club!!! Someone should teach that girl some respect but it won't be Lillian of course.

David joins the 'acting too young for his age' club... I mean I get what they are trying to do with whole couple fight over the curtain and fall on top of each other moment but it didn't work IMO. A young hot-headed man might have jumped up and tried to yank the curtain from Luci, but the full grown surly David would have just yelled at her to shut the curtains!! He's the boss as he reminded everyone all episode long.

We have a Carlos-Susan-Cesar-Fernanda square I guess, although Susan doesn't seem overly interested in either man. Carlos seems attracted to Fernanda but not willing to be, and truly interested in Susan but way too immature to win her. Cesar is probably too reserved to win her, I'm guessing, when you can't even ask the woman out without the cavot 'as friends of course' you probably don't have the confidence to pursue her...we shall see.

I am actually hoping Graciela comes back soon surprisingly, I am hoping she can spice this up a little bit. Her chemistry with Juan was at least interesting even if unhealthy...we need something fun to watch, all the bitching jealous nitwits aren't it, the jealous childish boys aren't it, David and Luci aren't there yet. Ramon is interesting to me, but he's very sparingly used so far, Susan is interesting but she needs something to work with, maybe Graciela will bring some spark?

One other thing I did notice during that I have never noticed during a daytime show - Uni actually put an advisory in the corner letting us know Vino would return Friday which reminded me that we are pre-empted by futbol tomorrow!

"VINO":

Darcy: I NEVER liked either Perla or Carlita & I sure as Hell didn't like Bratty Fernanda as well. What is it about their deep-seated hatred toward Luciana ?

Vino. Part of the problem with this novela may be that it's going to have too many episodes--141, I believe, when it should have half that. So they just keep repeating plot elements: Luciana is fired, she isn't, David is behaving much better, he relapses, Juan and Lilian try to hide their embezzlement, the young female employees pick on Luciana, etc.. I hope Graciela's return picks things up, but it might just start another plot circle.

Vino

SpanProf I agree with you 141 episodes is too long! I like that they are tending to make newer shows closer to 80.

Steve: it can’t be a deep seated hatred because they have only known her for like 12 minutes. No time to go deep, they are just jealous and insecure.
