Daytime TNs...Y Mas (#2), Week of June 26, 2023

Welcome to page 2 of Daytime TNs! This page has been reinstated to give those who are watching daytime TNs on any channel a place to discuss the TNs aired prior to 7Pm. If you would like to contribute a recap of just some highlights for a daytime TN, I’m sure there are those who watch the same TNs that would appreciate it.

10-11 AM: Nina amada mia (Unimas)

11-12PM Lo Imperdonable (Unimas)

12-2 PM: La Madrastra (Unimas) ** Starts Monday

"VINO"

Darcy: I got to give Sofia Castro (Bratty Fernanda), Gloria Aura (Perla) & Yadet Sedano (Carlito) credit because they're very good portraying despicable characters.

The Lets' Hate Luciana Club must be growing non-stop 24/7.

La Madrastra

Quick question: will the 2005 La Madrastra air in Daytime or the 2022 one? Thanks.

La Madrastra

Hey Weirdo, it's the 2005 version that is airing on Unimas.

I am going on a little mini-staycation with friends today - just an overnight trip to celebrate a good friend's birthday. Because I am packing up and getting ready I probably won't watch or comment on today's episode until I get back sometime Saturday evening or even Sunday depending on how much energy I have after spending Saturday afternoon in the sun at the pool.

Vino. Oooh! Enjoy your vacation, Darcy! I can't think of anyone who deserves one more!

La Madrastra/OT

Darcy, thanks for answering. The 2022 version wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I've never seen the 2005 one but I think the assassin(s) are the same.

Enjoy your stay-cation!

La Madrasta

It's good if you're new to novelas, in my opinion. The dialogue is easy to understand and has a mysterious atmosphere.

Finally had a chance to watch! Fernanda very brattily and inappropriately goes off on Luci, calling her a whore and Marta DEFENDS Fernanda!!! How tone death, she doesn't even confront Fernanda about it later or question her or anything....Marta might be a good woman but I don't understand why she struggles so much to be a mother to Luci.

I don't like Miguel - which is good in a way. It means I won't feel sorry for him when Luci falls for David. It seems the patio wasn't mostly team Miguel at this stage of the original broadcast but he doesn't nothing for me. The way he either looks pointedly at Luci every time David happens to speak to her or actually demands an explanation and then insists and insists Luci and he are meant to be even when she flat out tells him she isn't sure and wants to take things slow. This boy is every bit as immature, insecure and childish as the mean girls on this vineyard, just not as mean spirited. Are they just too isolated on the vineyard? How is it that none of these people have grown-up and matured?

One other thing that was much discussed on the original patio was the age difference between Carlos (also called Tano) and Susan, and Carlos and Fernanda. They concluded that Fernanda and Carlos were actually the closest in age and thus the most age appropriate coupling on the show even if still inappropriate because Fernanda is under 18. This made me curious, so I looked up on Wiki the ages of the actors. The actor playing Carlos is actually a whole 4 years younger than the actress playing Susan and 11 years older than the actress playing Fernanda. I looked it up because I guessed the actor was closer to Susan's age, but I guess Susan just seems older because she didn't grow up on that ranch and actually grew up to be an adult and acts like one - but maybe the character is supposed to be much older.....I think I said before but I find the casting for this to be very oddly done for this as far as matching age to character. The actors playing Susan and Juan were born in 1981 and the Carlos actor 1985 - so about 4 years apart IRL but they must be playing 15-20 years apart here - at least in Juan's case since we saw Juan already working as a lawyer before the time jump when Carlos and co when young kids. Then you have Graciela who is in the same age group (roughly) as Juan and David, but Kimberly dos Ramos (Graciela) was born in 1992, making her 7 years younger than Carlos, playing a character that is probably supposed to be 15+ years older. Just truly odd casting choices.

Anyway, we are hoping along. David is starting to half-heartedly admit he's hot for Luci - while making up excuses for not taking action. Miguel is jealous, David is jealous....Luci isn't allowed to feel anything at all because every time she lifts her head, walks into a room, and/or opens her mouth she's judged, accused of wrongdoing and/or declared a whore!

No where she spends all her time talking about leaving - I would run away from that place so fast!

Vino. Great remarks, Darcy! I hope you enjoyed your time away. Once again, especially in the portrayal of the relationship between Marta, Fernanda, and Luci, I wonder if the writers were even paying that much attention. And Lilian is at first asked to leave, then Fernanda gets David to let her stay in turn for Fernanda's apologizing to Luci, Lilian agrees to stay, etc. Ho hum. Since it might be a bit harder for Lilian to conceal her embezzlement this way, maybe it will eventually work out (very eventually).
