Thanks, Darcy & RGV Chick. My (full) recap of the finale is now available on the Monday, June 5th page. Looking forward to everyone’s thoughts on el gran final.

Excellent questions, Steve Boudreaux. I wish we could compare our finale with what originally aired.

Augi got a light sentence. MD got no anvil. We never got to see what originally set Carloca off. There were hints, but that arc was never fully fleshed out.. She witnessed her mom set herself on fire. Why was Mommy C so fire-prone in the first place? Was it because Augi was working quadruple time between Carloca Sr., Elisa, Guadaloopy, AND Victoriana?

Missing from the finale: Villalba. Did he really ride off into the sunset without getting 319 words in edgewise? Perhaps Univison cut his scenes - making it a 1-hr finale.

Did Gus, Sergio, and Belén make it to Estados Unidos? Did Fede’s goons get away with murder 1 (Selena). Will Fede look after her brother Abraham now they they’re both locked up? Will legal beagle Laura take his case OR is she seeking treatment from Dr. Pullada for her manic episodes (suicidal one moment and Supreme Court-bound the next)?

All in all, I enjoyed the finale. Lots of pretty images of the handsome cast. Cute kids. Elisa and Lupe really cleaned up nicely.

OT. It looks as if MariMar is replacing Guerrero, at least temporarily. Isn't that a Turkish novela with the Spanish dubbing not quite matching the characters' lips? I hope this is just temporary, but I am afraid not. And again, thank you so much, Darcy and O.S.!

SpanProf - MariMar has been playing for a couple weeks in the hour right after Guerrero and they are playing 2 hour episodes today and tomorrow in Guerrero's slot but Zap2it still shows Vino el Amor will start on Monday.

I don't think Marimar is Turkish though. I have seen a few mins of it several times in the last few weeks and it doesn't appear to be. I am not 100% sure but I think it's an older novela, like from the 90's. It's super dramatic!! Which is funny to say after watching Guerrero but just the few minutes I watched because I didn't change the channel right away had me rolling my eyes to the ceiling.

I put my comments on the finale on the previous page. I forgot that it was Thursday!! LOL I kept thinking it was Weds all day.

MariMar is one of Thalia's 3 Maria novelas.

Those 3 have turned up in Mexico, South America and Brasil in what seem to me to be very abbreviated versions.

If you are trying to learn Spanish those 3 novelas are perfect starters. The storylines are simple, the dialogue is clear, slow and repetitive.

Some of the benefit is probably lost since they've been so severely shortened, but I still recommend them if you're trying to learn Spanish.
