Ugh, I posted this in the previous page: I'm working on Friday's recap. It'll be posted later today.
Adriana cries a bit seeing Cami with Noelia. Noelia wants Cami to stay with her because she's having nightmares and asks if her dad will get hit again. Cami tells her that he won't and adds that she'll never leave her. They hug. Adriana is still watching this and is looking very hurt.
Ale has lost the elections. She toasts to her opponent's victory. Pascual says that politics aren't easy and Renata adds that the country and the state need more women like Ale. Funnily enough, I was thinking of the exact opposite. Everyone claps and Ale jokes saying that her suegros (in-laws) have been more faithful to her than her husband. Ale then continues saying that now that she has lost, she's free and tells everyone in the room (including her mom, her brother, Chuy and Vero) that her marriage with FJ has been over a long time ago and that she's in love with another man! Vero smiles like she got a second birthday. Awkward faces all around.
Cami is still with Noelia, who has fallen asleep. Elvira comes and tells her that her brother arrived. Cami thinks it's Tomás, but it's actually FJ. Adriana moves to the door, which is conveniently open, to eavesdrop.
Cami tells FJ that all her hope is on César's hearing. FJ reassures her that it'll go well. Cami asks him if he contacted their parents all the time he was away. He says no, only Alejandra a few times. Cami says that's she didn't either after she learnt their father got involved with Adriana. FJ says that he keeps thinking of one question: Why did his father get involved with Adriana, out of all women, the woman that he loved? And why would Adriana get involved with his dad? Adriana whispers something about needing a father (I heard "Tal vez nececitaba padre"; "Every time I needed a father"), which is weird.
Ale continues her talk saying again that she's finally free. Renata says something about this being a scandal and Ale says that she'll finally be free of her and her game of lies (juego de mentiras). Free of this house! She says that she's in love. Her mom tells Ray to put a stop to this. Chuy quietly leaves the room. Vero asks her his name and Ale tells her that it's not her business and she'll be happy when she doesn't see her face anymore! She leaves. Renata tries to cover it up by saying that she's affected by the results and she's drunk. She asks that this doesn't get public. Vero says that she thinks she's serious. Honestly, this is the only time I liked Ale.
Ale follows Chuy. The whole conversation is basically Ale telling Chuy she wants to give them a chance, he was always there when she needed him, Chuy being undecided and Olga, who's also in the room, saying that they shouldn't be together. (Why would Ale and Chuy discuss this in front of Chuy's mother?)
FJ and Cami continue their conversation, with Adriana eavesdropping of course. Cami says that their parents caused them a lot of harm. FJ calls their parents "un par de descarados" (a pair of shameless [people]). He says that he truly loved Adriana and his father knew it, he asked him for advice. Adriana is still crying and then her phone rings! Girl, next time you go watching someone in secret, turn off your phone! That's rule number 1 of eavesdropping! She doesn't pick it up of course, so the caller, who's Pascual, leaves her a message saying that he misses her and that they can live their dream now. FJ and Cami heard the ring, they almost catch Adriana, but they don't thanks to Cami's awful hearing. She thought the call came from the kitchen. (Her hearing can definitely compete with mine in terms of where sound came from. I always, ALWAYS think it came from the exact opposite direction it actually came from.)
Renata is whining to Pascual about their problems, which include César's possible acquittal, Ale not being a senator and Ale pretty much saying that she was cheating on FJ. Pascual gets creepy, grabbing Renata and telling her that she's young and pretty, why doesn't she find somebody else (un pasatiempo, someone to pass her time with) to let them breath? He leaves and Renata starts crying. What an odd couple.
It's the next day.
Adriana tells Sister Susana that she has lost her daughter and her husband. She almost lost her lover too and it's Pascual's fault. She adds that he called her pretending to be sorry. Sister S says that maybe he's really sorry but Adriana is sure he's not. That's why she's preparing for such a long time to live her sister's life; her life (Adriana's) ended at the amusement park.
Renata tells Ale that she must be feeling horrible for what she said last night. Ale says that she's feeling happiness, the happiness that she hasn't felt in years. FJ walks in and tells her she humiliated him. Ale calls him "the missing husband" (el esposo desaparecido) and says that she didn't lie. FJ says something about Chuy that I didn't catch, calling him "jardinero" (gardener). Chuy is in the background. Ale says that she'll leave today and go back to her house and no one will call Chuy "jardinero". (Again, why are they having this conversation in front of FJ's mom?) Pascual comes in and says "hijo".
Cami and Elvira talk about César's hearing. Cami goes to throw the trash outside and finds Adriana's crucifix! She says "is that you?" Huh? She then goes inside and asks Elvira if it's hers. She says she has never seen it before. Cami remembers the ring she and FJ heard. They see the letters "HSM" in the back side of the crucifix.
FJ tells Pascual not to call him "son" after what he's done to him. Ale says she'll go get her stuff and if they fire Chuy, she'll be waiting for him with open arms LOL. She tells FJ that Chuy was a far better partner that he was. FJ calls Chuy traitor and says that they're the same (I'm not if he meant them two or Chuy and Pascual, I assume the latter). Renata tells Chuy to leave. He does and she says FJ to discuss this like civilized people. (Civilized people at The Zoo? That's new.) He says that they don't have anything to discuss and tells Ale that he wants a divorce and that she only used him for the elections.
Cami searches the initials on the crucifix online and finds out about the place Adriana is, Hogar Santa Marta.
Inés tries to talk to Tomás about having a baby again. He says something about wanting her to be able to leave him if she wants because he'll continue being like this. She says she loves him just the way he is.
Pascual tells FJ he missed him. FJ wants answers. He asks him who is Adriana, the woman that he loved. Pascual doesn't respond and FJ leaves.
Nero must have died. Cami tells César that she's sorry about his friend. César tells her that he was like a father figure to him and says that he can't stay here for another 10 years, he doesn't want his daughter to be ashamed of him. Cami says that tomorrow is his hearing and everything will go well. She informs him that she found a crucifix outside of his house that belongs to Hogar Santa Marta. César is shocked and tells Cami it's the orphanage where Adriana grew up.
Renata tells Chuy that she has a job for him, they want to eliminate a witness that is going to testify at César's hearing that he didn't shoot Adriana. She works at the amusement park and her name is Bernice ____ (I didn't catch her last name and I don't remember it). Chuy says he doesn't want to continue doing dirty businesses. Renata tells him she doesn't have anyone else that's trustworthy and also he let him stay in her house with his lover like it was a motel without even asking them to pay LOL. She asks him if he accepts.
Pascual and FJ talk about Adriana. Pascual says that she loved him (FJ), but the plan wasn't to leave with neither of them, but with another man. FJ asks with whom. Pascual says with Cara Sucia and explains that they were friends from the orphanage. Of course, Chuy heard the conversation from the Cara Sucia part.
Chuy flashes back to him and Adriana preparing her fake persona, Mariana del Molino. What confused me about this scene is that Adriana said that she might work at her MOTHER'S club, meaning the strip club, while if I recall correctly, Rocío wasn't actually her mom. Huh?
Pascual says he's truly sorry that he got involved with that woman. FJ tells him that he heard about this Cara Sucia from César and asks Pascual why is he so dangerous. He tells him that Adriana betrayed Cara Sucia. Chuy is still listening...
Inés is somewhere with a lot of kids, the orphanage perhaps? She notices a kid who's alone (was that the kid Tomás also saw? I didn't watch the last episodes).
Camila goes to the orphanage and asks Sister Susana about the crucifix. She confirms that it's theirs. Cami says she found it outside of her house and asks information about Cara Sucia. Susana is confused, she doesn't know who is Cara Sucia. Cami wants to speak to someone who's been here for many years, but Susana says something about doing prayers now. Cami asks about info about Adriana Molina.
We have yet another scene of Ale trying to convince Chuy that they should be together and Chuy playing hard to get.
FJ leaves The Zoo. She tells Renata that he thinks Pascual killed Eva to cover up the whole Adriana case. Little did you know, FJ. Little did you know. FJ is sure Eva was murdered.
The kids leave (so Inés wasn't at the orphanage...). Inés calls the orphanage and asks about the kid they saw with Tomás, Miguelito.
Sister Susana tells Adriana that some woman came looking for her and asked about some Cara Sucia. Adriana asks her what was her name, Susana says Camila.
Renata tries to change FJ's mind but FJ is sure Eva was murdered and that his dad killed her, he has no morals anyway. Pascual comes in and tells him he's sorry he slept with Adriana but he's not a killer. FJ says that then it wouldn't bother him if he went to the police so they look into it and adds that he wouldn't care if he went to prison. He goes to leave, Renata tells him to think about it again. When he leaves, Renata and Pascual exchange an "we're screwed" face.
Ale bought a shirt (with sleeves!) for Chuy as a surprise. He's not in his room, so she goes to hang it in his closet. She finds some sort of box and of course opens it. She finds a gun and very, VERY stupidly grabs it, leaving her fingerprints on it. I don't see her making it till the end.
My audio was awful in the last scene, but I think I figured it out. Camila has found a Sister who has been in the orphanage for a long time. She asks about Adriana, but of course the Sister says that she can't tell her. Cami says that Cara Sucia killed someone and an innocent is getting the blame, so it's very important she learns if Adriana was here. The Sister looks undecided. Adriana was listening to the entire conversation.
And with Adriana's nervous look and a cliffhanger, we have the Fin del Capítulo.
"Betty en NY" " will re-premiere this Monday, June 5 at 9 p.m. ET", what?

Deb, I know, my reaction was also "what?" when I saw it. Who the heck is in charge of Telemundo's scheduling? Such a shame for this company to have an awful schedule. I prefer Telemundo's telenovelas over the Univisión ones, but honestly, Univisión has better people on scheduling.
So wait, they put Juego de Mentiras on MIDNIGHT so that they could RE-PREMIERE BETTY EN NY at 9? Honestly? It Telemundo messing with us? Why can't they just put Juego at 9 like normal human beings and NOT do a re-premiere of Betty en NY? I'm pretty sure the cats that wonder the streets in my town can make a better schedule. Just kidding. Or NOT.
Weirdo: I see Alejandra lost her campaign for reelection to the United States Senate LOL.
Good: We don't need her creepy ass in the United States Senate anyway!
22 episodes left to go!

Deb: WTH is Telemundo with their incompetent scheduling. Guess this means the 2-HR specials of "SECRETOS" ends tonight. 🤔

Weirdo, thanks so much . what a tangled web Adriana has woven . Chuy and Adriana have certainly caused a lot of chaos . I have no idea where this story is going or what anvils the writers will drop .
Pasqual and Renata's nasty dynasty is crumbling . They have a very weird relationship as Renata tries to control everyone, everywhere all the time , and randy Pasqual keeps womanizing .
wow, thanks so much Weirdo, what a great recap, love how your comments put me right back in the story.
and it looks like things have turned bad for the bad guys, which is just about everyone in this story.
turning off the phone, is that in the category of locking the bedroom door, what surprised me is it was Mariana's phone which Adriana said she never answers anyway.
interesting point Renata was making with Chuy, that he will need money to give Ale the life she is accustomed to especially since she just lost her job.
I think the creep factor we were supposed to jump to, was that the crucifix belonged to the orphanage which the now dead Adriana was from, and also Cara who might have been stalking them.
one of the reasons FJ was throwing out as to why his father killed Eva I think they said was, Eva would have never left her cats, ha!
Betty in LA, err... Ines, sure is crashing right into Tomas' life.
I was thinking over Adriana's situation, Pascual had bought the plane tickets, etc. for Spain, so when Adriana ditch the car and Eva's stuff, it left her with nothing but Mariana's stuff, and no money.
so where is Yvonne?
Thanks SO much for the excellent recap, Weirdo! This one could have been entitled "Everyone eavesdrops". Renata, I hate you so much. If Chuy follows through and kills Berenice, I'm not going to be happy. I loved the scene where Pascual grabbed her whole face in his hands. He dropped the mask he's been wearing lately and told her to stop ruining her children's lives. Big Ed looked like one of the villains he's been playing lately. And she burst into tears because she's enough of a sicko to still love him.
When Adriana muttered that talvez she needed a father, she meant maybe she needed one.
FJ says how much he despises his father and then has another loooong conversation with him where he's trying to pick his brain about Adriana. Just leave already, handsome!
I'm pretty sure Inés was at the foundation offering cupcakes to some of the kids the foundation is helping. Usually it's just a business office. I get a kick out of how they always let us know the actors are at the foundation by showing that same kid's bike with pink streamers on the handlebars. I would bet my house that Tomás and Inés have sex before this is over.
I was happy to see Ale kick Vero to the curb. The thing that's so annoying about Vero is that I'm sure there are media types just like her, with paparazzi stalking celebrities everywhere they go.
I don't think I can stand it if they find César guilty.
And, yes, why in the world did they show Olga in the same room when Ale is making her pitch to Chuy. Wonder why he's suddenly gone lukewarm on her? He only wanted a Senator?
I finally got to watch. Pasqual looked BSC when he was grabbing Renata's face.
I mostly like to watch Fj's eyebrows .
Now Ale is so in love with Chuy , and he is not interested .
Where's Valerie ? Do we care?
on FJ talking to Cami about Adriana and his father the english caps had it this way,
FJ: "among all the men in the world, why did Adriana become dad's lover?"
Adriana's whispered reply: "I don't know FJ, perhaps I needed a father too."
Thanks so much for your comments!
Steve, I'm also happy Ale lost the campaign. Even she is happy! LOL. For different reasons, but still.
Susanlynn, "They have a very weird relationship" indeed! They're one of the weirdest couples I've ever seen on telenovelas.
Deb, thanks for adding the comment about Eva and her cats, I missed that! And thanks for adding exactly what Adriana said.
Novelera, "everyone eavesdrops" indeed! I could copy paste your entire comment.
Sorry to come so late to the party. But wow, what a wonderful recap, Weirdo! Thanks VERY much.
I don't have much to add. Like you, Weirdo, I was delighted when Ale told Vero to mind her own business, and she'll be happy not to have to see Vero's face anymore. For me, too, this was the only time I liked Ale.
Weirdo, you asked about why Adriana would say she might work at her mother's club. Actually, I think the word she used was madrina, which means godmother, an accurate description of Rocio.
I'm glad to see that you and deb and others have expressed disappointment/outrage at Telemundo's insane scheduling. I was preparing to put up next week's Telemundo y Más pages, and in checking what was being offered when, I was astonished to see that Telemundo was putting Betty in New York in the 9 PM time slot starting this coming Momday. Huh??
Why not remove Juego de Mentiras from the midnight trash pile and put it at the 9 PM slot where it belongs, and cut Secretos back to one hour at 10 PM? I wonder how all the talented actors and writers in Juego de Mentiras feel about the way Telemundo is treating them. Well, I for one will continue to watch Juego and only Juego.
Again, thanks VERY much for the terrific recap!
OK folks, I need your help. I'm trying to put up the Telemundo y Más pages for the coming week, and I don't know how to handle Betty en NY (BENY). The Telemundo website includes a statement that BENY is being shown exclusively on Peacock. But the Telemundo Program Guide on the Telemundo website lists it in the 9 PM slot starting this Monday, June 5. Also, although almost all the telenovelas are listed as NEW, there is no such designation with BENY. So is this just a RE-RUN of a novela that ran in 2019 on Telemundo? I'm really, um, puzzled and annoyed.
if it helps I'm pretty certain it's a re-run, same cast, same plot, etc., and caray, caray already has a label, 'betty'.
People en Espanol referred to it as the "re-premiere".
also, in the telemundo press release it states, "Audiences will be able to watch episodes live on Telemundo or stream on the Telemundo app and Peacock."
Thanks VERY much, deb. This is exactly what I needed to know. I strongly suspected that Telemundo would already have a "Betty" label, since this ran in 2019. At first, I thought I'd use the label "Betty2," but that now seems misleading, so I'll just use "Betty." And thanks too for the info about what can be seen on Telemundo and what on Peacock.
Thank you all for your recaps.
I have been following this show's recaps since it started and watch a but of it on you tube. I am a bit lost though is Adriana a villain of this story?
Thanks for dropping by, Jacky. I don't think Adriana will end up as a villain. Being left in an orphanage after her twin was adopted has caused a lot of trauma in her life. I think she also was influenced by Chuy, her childhood friend from the orphanage. From what we've seen so far, it looks like Chuy was called Cara Sucia (dirty face) in the orphanage. He appears to be the one behind a lot of the crimes. I have a 6th sense Adriana will somehow be redeemed. We have certainly seen signs of her being regretful that she could not be a good wife to César.
Adriana also gave herself up to save her daughter, Noelia quite a few episodes ago.
Juanita, más vale tarde que nunca. Thanks for explaining that scene with Adriana. Yes, madrina makes much more sense.
I absolutely can't understand the logic behind Telemundo's scheduling. I just can't.
Jacky, I just saw your question. I believe novelera answered it perfectly. Welcome!
