SpanProf - you're team Miguel and I'm team 'throw the baby out with the bath water!' LOL I don't like either option and David would be more appealing to me if it wasn't for the murderous sis-in-law wanting to be wife and the bratty teenager. The problem I have with Miguel is that I think he's selfish. It's more of a low key selfishness but it's there. He knows, I mean he KNOWS that Luci doesn't feel the same about him and that she is into David (whether she'll admit it or not) and he doesn't care at all. He just wants what he wants. He insists and insists and insists, he is practically begging Luci to go out with him and then in scenes with David he is all bravado trying to convince David and himself that the girl is his. I can't hang with that. I think Miguel definitely has the qualities to maybe become a great guy one day but he's got a lot of growing up to do first, IMO. But David is no picnic either and Luci is a mess too - so that leaves me with throw the baby out with the bath water! LOL

Juan got his job back! lol Not surprised, but good job taking to David for sticking to his guns for two whole days before caving...we learning that Juan's dad committed suicide after the deal fell through with David (or his dad?) so I guess that gives a little more incentive for holding a grudge.

And now we have the unholy alliance of Juan, Lil, and Grace! Again, not surprising but maybe it will add some intrigue. I wonder what will happen when Lil realizes that Grace killed Lisa? She's a callous and self-serving woman but I think she'll be rocked when she finds that out!!!

"VINO":

Darcy: Let's not forget about Lillian is also a Karen with spewing racially-charged epithets.

Vino. Good observations about both galanes, Darcy! I would think that David's not pursuing romance because his high school aged daughter and elementary school aged son is a clear sign he's too old for Luci. Graciela was diabolically clever in the way she guilt tripped David into giving Juan his job back. All in the service of the 3 of them--Juan, Graciela and Liliana--being able to profit criminally from the winery.

Well, Miguel and Luci kisses had a LOT more passion in them then I anticipated!!! I guess they have more chemistry than I thought, but I still think Miguel is way too insistent. He loves Luci but not in a healthy way!

I got momentarily distracted so I am not 100% sure but it seemed to me that Tano might have actually been jealous of Fern and her beau? Did I imagine that? It seemed like he was trying to throw Susan in Fern's face while Fern was throwing (I forgot his name) in his....is that what you saw? I mean Susan and Tano were in a bad place and had already broken up but the moment she walked outside when Fern and boy were there, Tano pulled her to his side as if they were A okay! I think Susan noticed it too.

As for the breakup between Tano and Susan, I'm a fan. They are not well-matched and she's right Tano is too young and immature to deal with her problems. A more grown up man would have known that telling the angry, vindictive, soon-to-be ex that wifey has a boyfriend is a HORRIBLE idea.

Luci may have stronger feelings for Miguel than I gave her credit for but this going back and forth between David and Miguel is still a bad look for her, especially while all but admitting that she's choosing Miguel because she can't have David and she deserves to be happy. What doesn't fit to me is that Luci seems on one hand very inexperienced with men - leading me to believe she wasn't dating much if at all in Mexico - but on the other hand, she suddenly she can't be without a man? If bachelor #1 is a no go, I'll go for #2???

Gracie sounded down right dangerous when she warned mommy that if she crossed her, she would forget she was her mother. All I could think is she already killed sissy, maybe mommy is next! Ouch! But she sounded down right ridiculous crying to David that Miguel and Luci were kissing at work!!! Oh the horror! Seriously, who cares?? It amazes me that this vineyard is so preoccupied with fraternization....although that Mig and Luc make-out session was a little too hot and heavy for the office.

And we end with Lil's implication that she killed her late husband and Mr. Gutierrez may meet the same fate if he leaves her for Marta too....hmm...Mommy killed Daddy and then Gracie killed sissy.....scary family!

Total OT but typing Gutierrez makes me miss the actor that played a character named Gutierrez on Si Nos Dejan a couple years ago. Man that man was gorgeous!!! The guy playing Gutierrez here is good looking enough but no comparison. If I had both Christian de la Campa and Ramiro Tomasini (the other Gutierrez) here to keep me company this vineyard would be much more interesting.....sigh

Vino. Yep, Darcy, Tano does seem jealous of Fernanda and Peter. Oh my! He's too young for Susan and too old for Fer. He should follow his father's advice and go back to school. I think Fer should really be more enthusiastic about Peter. He seems like the perfect high school boyfriend and he adores her. All the relationships in this novela seem either-or. How about if #1 and #2 are either unacceptable or unavailable finding a #3? Or doing without for a while? I wonder if Lilian was a killer. It would explain why Graciela was such a psychopath. The surprising thing is that Lisa was so normal.

OT

Since I started watching telenovelas in 2020, I have a big gap of previous telenovelas, so I have a quick question to ask you guys that have been watching prior to that.

Basically, I wanted to ask if anyone knows if there's a telenovela (of any country, Turkey included) that its main plot is similar to this: two women -one rich and one poor- go to give birth in the same hospital but their babies are accidentally switched. The rich kid lives with the kind poor family and the poorer kid lives with the snobbish rich family, without anyone knowing about the swap. Many years later the two families meet again and after some time learn about the swap.

It might seem weird to ask for a novela that I don't know if it exists or not giving so many details, so here's the (short) story: this was an "original story" in my country. The writers claimed that "they didn't re-make any foreign story". This sounds SUPER sketchy to me, because the plot screams it's a telenovela, it's not my country's script style at all and it won't be the first time some writer steals telenovela main plots and claims it was "their idea".

If anyone remembers anything, please tell me. Thank you.

OT. I don't know of a novela with that plot, but when I lived in Virginia years ago, something like that actually happened. When the mixup was discovered several years later, one of the families ended up raising both children.

OT

SpanProf, that's interesting!

OT

I haven't seen or heard of a novela with that plot. Several separated at birth type scenarios or things like we just saw on Juego de Mentiras where twins were seperated and one grew up with a rich family while one grew up in an orphanage. I can't think of any where the babies were actually switched. There is an English language TV show with a similar plot, I never watched it but it was called Switched by Birth - you can find it on IMDb

I know someone on primetime suggested Quien es Quien and that is an excellent show but it's not exactly the same plot. The babies in that scenario the babies were twins and they weren't switched - there was a far more nefarious plot at work - but they did grow up in two different families, one being rich and the other poor.

OT

Darcy, thanks! I'll check out Switched at Birth.
