Darcy, O.S., SpanProf & Co.,: Let me guess: More of the "Let's Hate Luciana" Club from the usual suspects of Buji Expletives ?

Luciana cannot catch a freaking break!

We have the first kiss between the protags episode...there was a lot of talk on the original recap of how romantic and steamy it was - really I think the writing of the recap helped with that impression, lol. But either way, I wish I found it more romantic....I don't know if it's the too much drama at the vineyard that spoils it for me or the wishy washiness of Luci's character but I wasn't sold. One thing they did to excuse Luci on the original patio was that she's probably very inexperienced with men....which could def account for her uncertainty but I think I just have a hard time seeing it because she's so decisive and determined in everything else she does, it makes her batting back and forth between David and Miguel seem deliberate.

Which leads to Fernanda, I find her bratty but maybe I should give her a little credit for being young and traumatized, not to mention under the evil influence of grandma! When she started talking about Daddy changing for Luci and not them, I was reminded that this girl lost her mother and then had to live through her daddy withdrawing into a dark corner and all but refusing to interact with the world for a couple years, I guess I can understand her feeling jealous and possessive over HER DAD and Her brother.

The other interesting angle here is Marta...does she like Guiterrez? or not? She sure seems to but then she made that comment to Lillian about going out with him because she knows Lil will hate it if she does!! And she made that comment to Ramon about sometimes we do things not because we have to but because they need to be done.....hmmm....I'll like her better (though still not much) if she's working an angle. If she's just infatuated with the officer and not being honest with Ramon, I will like her even less.

It seems Susan does like Carlos/Tano! I wonder why? I mean he's good looking enough but he's acted like a whinny brat around her since day 1 - not exactly the way to a woman's heart. I was thinking Susan and Miguel might be good for eachother - after he gets over Luci - they have a certain chemistry, but if she goes after Carlos/Tano that will ruin that idea.

One more thing about Carlos/Tano, everyone is totally overreacting to Fernanda having a crush. The horror, and then Marta says all that bs about them being different social statuses....she's like 17 and he's her first crush they act as if she announced her engagement instead of confessing to omg....giving him a kiss on the cheek!! LOL

Vino. I suspect that Marta's agreeing to go out with Gutierrez may have something to do with his previous misbehavior as a border Patrol agent. I was amused to see that the buyer of the vino de reserva shot Juan down when he tried to intervene. I suspect either David had warned the buyer about Juan or Juan has a shady reputation among wine dealers. Once again, 24 hr./day guard on the vino de reserva, David! It should be so easy to take down Juan, but probably will take many many episodes!

Well I watched today, but so much has happened since I am having a hard time remembering.....hmm....

Gracie came back!!! I remember that! I expected her to show back up any minute now but I did not for a second think she'd be the mystery buyer!!! Now she has leverage to avoid just getting kicked out of the vineyard.

What else do I remember?? I remember thinking when Fernanda was with her friends she had a cute boy starring at her and she never noticed, she must really be infatuated with Tano.

Oh, I remember another thing. Marta annoying me as usual!!! Her reaction to Luci possibly liking the boss was just obnoxious! How little does she think of her daughter that she gives her the 'don't set your sights too high' speech??? Ugh!!!

OT

I watched La Usurpadora the musical last night on ViX+. It was pretty cute and I was amazed by Susana Zabaleta!! She plays the mother-in-law in the movie and when I first saw her I thought she was the rival for the galán!!! I was so confused when he called her mother and then I looked her up on Wiki and she’s almost 60! That woman looks AMAZING!!! Talk about not looking your age or the age of your character. I also noticed in her television credits that she played Ruth in Fuego en la Sangre in 2008. I never watched that but I did watch Pasión de gavilanes so I know Ruth is one of the youngest characters on the show, if Wiki is accurate she was over 40 in that role playing a 20ish character. The opposite of Kimberley dos Ramos being 24 in Vino playing 40ish Graciela!

Vino. I thought Gutierrez looked pretty cute dressed up for his date with Marta. Too bad he's a nasty person. Graciela's career in art must be doing very well if she can afford to buy all the vino de reserva. And Juan is smart enough to realize, as he says, that those wine barrels are probably being very well protected. The face-off between Graciela and Juan should be interesting as each knows what the other has done. Everyone seemed to have fun at their respective excursions to nearby towns (If that was really Napa in Leon's excursion, it seems much improved since I lived there many years ago. And what happened to all the sewage in the Napa River?). Luciana, Bobby and David are seeming more and more like a family, and even Fernanda seemed to enjoy herself with friends. . Annoying how Sonia denigrates Luci as "the help", seemingly forgetting her degree in Agriculture.
