Serdar and Cinar meet with the thug. They turn in the remaining money and purchases. It’s only a fraction of what they owe. He gives them a break. Keep the money and gifts. To pay off your debt, you work for me now.

Aylin tells Ceylin that Parla’s been skipping school. She’s going to see a psychologist. She tells Ceylin that Zumrut has an appointment for a test. Ceylin offers her support.
Ilgaz asks Eren for Serdar’s address.

Seda comes to see Lacin. She is extremely upset, she feels used. She knows Lacin and Murat have a relationship. She says Yekta knows, too and he set up Murat to take the blame. Yekta is separating you from your lover. What kind of ending is your husband planning for you?

Ece is doing some “detective” work for Seda to find dirt on Yekta. There are locked files in his office.

Aylin and Osman speak with Parla’s psychologist.

Cut. They show Zumrut at the train station with a little girl and a suitcase. I don’t remember Zumrut having a daughter. I must have missed that. She changes her mind and they leave the station.

Lacin goes to Ilcey’s office. She’s there to talk about Engin’s threat against Yekta and the connection to Ayla. That woman helped him, she says, and he repaid her. How? Lacin drops the bomb. Yekta never graduated from law school. He has a fake diploma. Parting words from Lacin to Ceylin--I never believed you killed Engin. Ceylin tells Lacin, I won’t forget this kindness.

Ilgaz realizes Ayla is not Ceylin’s new client. He’s pissed that she continues to go behind his back. They have the same old argument. Ilgaz asks where Ceylin got Ayla’s name. She fibs and says it was in Engin’s records. She doesn’t mention Merdan.

Ilcey head off to the law school. Ceylin calls a journalist to meet them at the school. Ilgaz thinks this could be just another game. Ilcey debate this.

Pars is still angry about being “used” and lets Eren know it. Eren tells him that Cuneyt rented the car.

A real bomb explodes at the law school as Ilcey arrive. Good bye school records?

Yekta and Cuneyt watch the news report on the explosion. It’s blamed on a gas leak. Yekta is pleased He praises Cuneyt. That’s how you get the job done, congrats. An evil laugh from Yekta. [They blew up the freakin’ school to save Yekta’s azz!]

Two-week time jump, shown through Ceylin’s nightmare.

Ceylin’s appeal was successful and she’s a lawyer again. Derya will not issue an accusation against Ilgaz. Ceylin wants Ilgaz to go back to being a DA. He’s not sure if he could go back. [I hope he does]

Neva is moving to her own place. Pars isn’t happy about Neva’s relationship with Cuneyt, mainly for his association with Yekta. Neva finds out that Ilgaz has investigated her last case in Ankara. She worries.

Ilgaz discovers Neva’s secret. She could lose her job, she could be punished. What should they do with this info? Ceylin is more understanding. Neva did it for love. Ilgaz says this is serious and there’s no justifying it. He also found out Neva sold her house in Ankara. Where’s the money? It’s nt in the bank. Did it go to Niyazi? It could have something to do with Engin’s threat.

Umut says they found a woman who heard three gunshots when Engin was killed. They’ll bring her in for questioning.

Seda tells Yekta the motion to analyze his diploma was denied. I’m always lucky, he replies with a smile. Yekta wonders how Ilcey found out. There were only a few who knew. He will find out.

Lacin sees a lawyer about Murat. They have video he dropped Lacin off at the love shack. He wasn’t around for Engin’s escape. Murat will need to be questioned again but should be released.

Seda figures it was Lacin who told Ilcey about the fake diploma. She warns her.

Pars confronts Ilgaz about Neva. He wonders what Ilgaz is up to. Do you know where she was at the time of the murder, Ilgaz asks, did you know she sold her house? Pars is stunned. He didn’t know. What did she do with the money? Pars asks, are you trying to link her to the murder? Ask her where she was at the time of the murder, Ilgaz replies. Ask why she sold her house in Ankara.

Neva shares her worries with Cuneyt about Ilgaz finding out her secret.

Aylin complains about her life to Ceylin. She’s getting a divorce if the baby is Osman’s. Gul overhears and does not approve.

Pars and Ilgaz confront Neva with questions and accusations. She finally admits, I met with Faride on the day of the murder. I gave her money so she would drop the suit. I sold my house to get the money. It’s a crime, Ilgaz says. She asks him, will you report me? I hope I don’t have to, he replies.

Pars speaks with Ilgaz in the hall. He calls Ilgaz an ingrate. I did everything to protect you and your loved ones, he says, I put my reputation on the line. You did what was right, Ilgaz replies. You didn’t ruin anyone’s life. You were fair.

A nature documentarian had cameras in the woods near the crime scene.

Ceylin is interviewed by a psychologist. It doesn’t go well. She accuses the psych of deliberately baiting her and being paid by Yekta to give a bad report. She walks out. The psych enters the hallway, and he has a bloody nose. Derya is there. She hit me with a vase, he shouts. Ceylin is stunned—I didn’t do anything!

The woman testifies about the gunshots. She heard one, looked outside and saw nothing. Then she heard two more gunshots. We see the flashback of Niyazi firing the gun in Ceylin’s hand. Eren shares this news with Metin. Let’s take this to Pars.

Ilgaz reviews the nature footage. They hear a gunshot. About a minute later they hear two more shots.

Ceylin swears to Derya she didn’t do anything. The psych wants to press charges.
Ceylin goes crazy. She accuses Yekta of bribing him. Derya orders Ceylin to be taken downstairs to holding. Pars enters the office and sits in on the psych’s statement. Derya’s not too happy about that.

Yekta gloats as Ceylin is taken away. She shouts at him. He’s pleased his set up seems to be working according to plan.

Ozge informs Ilgaz that Ceylin attacked the psych.

Ilgaz goes with Ceylin for her statement. Check for footage? Are the prints on the vase? Yep, the psych had asked her to move the vase.

Yekta goes to Judge Kemal to inform him of Ceylin’s attack on the psychologist and of her verbal attack in the hall. She’s dangerous, he advises, detain her. Kemal will consider it.

Ilgaz wants to go to the crime scene and find third bullet. Eren hurries to go with him but Metin stops Eren. Ilgaz goes alone. Magically, Ilgaz finds the bullet that lodged into a tree behind a bird house.

Lacin’s lawyer sees Pars. Pars will question Murat again. The lawyer tells Lacin it’s a good chance that Murat will be released

Derya and Pars discuss Ceylin and the psychologist.

Judge Kemal comes to see Pars about the psych incident. Derya tells him they are investigating. He wants the report in the morning.

Ilgaz bursts in on Pars and tells him he found the third bullet in the woods. He’s not happy that Pars is dragging his feet on issuing an order to officially investigate. Ilgaz threatens Pars to get this done immediately.

Eren finally gets Pars to issue the order. Ilgaz tells

Ilgaz tells Ceylin the good news, the third bullet was found.

The thug meets with Serdar’s group. He gives them fake IDs. He wants them to open bank accounts with money he will send them.

Ece found the file. It’s all about Yekta and Merdan. She tells Seda it’s very interesting.

And we are out.

I wish I'd been able to read your excellent recap (yes, recap!) earlier, but I had a neighborhood association duty to fulfill. We're trying to get more public art in our neighborhood. Funny how that works. I live in the more middle-class part of my town. It seems like a lot more public art is going into wealthier neighborhoods. We had two good murals approved but that was decades ago. I was needed to keep another woman in our neighborhood association from exploding with anger. More flies with honey, my dear.

I don't remember Zumrot having a child either. Maybe there were TWO cuts!

I have a new acronym for our prosecutor: Petulant Pars. I can sort of see his point; he stepped way over the line for Ilcey. But now his protectiveness toward Neva is blinding him.

Sometimes I can't tell if I miss things or if they aren't explained at all. I don't remember anyone requesting Yekta's diploma, but the recap mentions it. And, yes, yikes! He blows up the law school? What's the matter with Cuneyt? I hope he gets a nice long prison sentence for what he's doing. It's been said it's about his protecting Neva, but this is outrageous. Does Cuneyt even know Yekta isn't a qualified lawyer? Does he care?

Another acronym: Gorgon Gul. On a few, very few, occasions the woman looks like a decent person. But most of the time she's awful. What gives her the right to order her daughter not to get a divorce?

Yekta sure set up Ceylin perfectly. IIRC he was the one who instigated the meeting with a psychologist (or psychoanalyst, not sure). Why does everyone obey him? The creep was 30 minutes late in order to have Ceylin already angry. Then the BS with the flowering plant. He put it in between them and then asked her to move it. But why, oh why, does she always rise to the bait? She could easily have thwarted Yekta by smiling sweetly and disagreeing gently with those leading questions.

I'm starting to think Metin wants Ceylin to be convicted. Maybe he thinks his golden boy will go back to his prosecutor job and marry a smiling baby-making machine if Ceylin is in prison for life. Ilgaz is very upset with his father for refusing to let Eren come along to find the bullet.

Ceylin is so easy to provoke and Yekta knows it. She knew this psych evaluation was to get her and still took the bait. Now it is a race to get the proof of the third person before Ceylin is locked up. This show is good at keeping the tension up.

Not sure what Ilgaz wants Neva to do. Somehow cause a retrial? Confess?

Osman offered Zumrut to run away with him. She didn't want to leave her daughter, but finally he seemed to convince her. She showed up at the train station and was waiting for Osman, but he never showed up, he was dealing with Parla's absenteeism.

I didn’t hear anyone requesting Yekta’s diploma either, novelera. Supposing stuff happened in the 2-week time jump that we didn’t see. Turkish ep 21 ended with the law school explosion and Turkish ep 22 began with Ceylin’s dream.

Yekta was willing to kill or injure scores of people to hide his secret and he gets away with it! This man has no soul! I notice that Cuneyt often has a guilty or disgusted look on his face when Yekta shoots off his mouth.

Thank you so much, Lucio, for adding the info on Zumrut. That went right past me. Maybe it’s because I tend to ignore everything about the Erguvans. The entire family gets on my nerves, including Ceylin.

I only saw half the episode last night. There’s no way I can finish a recap tonight. I’ll try to get something up tomorrow, since we’re preempted tonight. But if you want to comment, please go ahead. I’ll catch up.

I am doing my best to keep up with this story, but I have watched and rewatched last night’s discussion between Merdan and Seda, and I still don’t understand it! This is such a great story and well-acted, but it’s easy to miss details if I don’t watch closely! Maybe i should take notes! And, the cuts don’t help. Thanks to all of you who share recaps and comments. They really help!

Babachita, you are not alone! I still don't understand this whole new plot regarding Merdan and Yekta. Seda definitely used it as her "get out of jail" card to prevent Merdan from further threatening her daughter so she'd keep trying to find Zafer's body. Somehow there is a young boy related to Merdan's family that he plans to bring into the house. He mentioned to the boy that he'd have a sister, Defne, I assume. I saved the two-hour episode on my DVR and may try again to figure things out.

Tonight is the women's world cup USA game against The Netherlands, so no new episodes, I assume. Last time the US played they showed 90 minutes of a repeat. I was frustrated because I needed to FF to see if anything new had been added. IIRC dondi said that they didn't show any of that on the East Coast, only here in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I live, and presumably other parts of the West Coast.

Merdan’s secret isn’t 100% clear to me either. I agree with novelera’s take but it isn’t clear why Merdan was involved with the boy’s family in the first place. Maybe there are more explanations to come, especially if he brings the boy home. I’ll look at the original episode too. Waiting to hear from Lucio, who is very good at figuring this kind of stuff out.

World Cup: ¡Que golazo de Horan! Especially sweet after that dust up with her Lyon teammate, van de Donk. Portugal next. Then hopefully on to the knockouts.

Ilgaz keeps his promise, I’ll write my request, I’ll go back to the DA’s office. [Yay!] This cheers up Ceylin.

Time for the hearing. Ceylin is very nervous. Ilgaz tries to be strong for her but he’s nervous too. They need those lab results asap.

Pars and Derya speak to Kemal about the psychologist incident. Kemal says after the hearing, Ceylin will be remanded to prison.

Eren waits outside the lab for the results, hurry Goksu! Ilgaz calls him for an update.
Yekta arrives at the courthouse full of bluster.

Cinar meets Parla to open the bank accounts. He’s ticked that Serdar got her involved in this.

Ozlem calls Tugce. She wants her to come back home. Fatih is getting suspicious and he found her a job. Tugce lies and tells her mother she’s going back to school. Ozlem is pleased.

The trial begins. Kemal asks about the third bullet. Pars whispers that the testing is underway. The judge asks Ceylin to make her statement. She begins. Yekta interrupts her. Ilgaz objects. Kemal warns Yekta about interrupting.

Eren is impatient. He shouts at Goksu to hurry. Suddenly the power goes out in the building. The door to the lab is locked.

Ceylin continues her statement. I didn’t do it. I request to be acquitted. Yekta laughs.
Judge Kemal gives Yekta his turn to speak. Yekta brings up Ceylin’s threat against Engin—there are witnesses. She has anger management issues. Ilgaz brings up the third person involvement.

Yekta plays a conspiracy card. Ilgaz is defending his wife, Metin Kaya, his father, investigates. Ilgaz objects. Yekta continues, Ilgaz’s best friend is also part of the investigation. We reject all the evidence that favors Ceylin. It should be reexamined by impartial parties. Kemal loses patience with the back and forth between Yekta and Ilgaz.

Eren gets in his car. He has a very serious look.

Yekta brings up Gul’s visit to Lacin and the shroud. Gul stands up and argues with Yekta. Order in the court.

Kemal gives his decision. He orders Ceylin to be remanded into custody. At that moment, Eren comes through the door and hands over the report. New evidence. The bullet is a match to Niyazi. Engin’s DNA is on the bullet. No need for Ceylin to be remanded. Niyazi will be investigated for the murder.

Yekta shouts about appealing the decision. It’s a scandal and a shame! Outside, he talks to the press. Ceylin is the killer, I will prove it! Ceylin makes her statement to the press—I’ll do what it takes to find the real culprit.

A reporter is up to something, he has an envelope. It says, “itiraz çiçeği arkadaşım” - the flower of objection my friend.

Merdan invites everyone to a celebration dinner at “his” house saying, it’s about time for both families to get to know each other. This goes over like a lead balloon. Ceylin wants Ilgaz to stop him. He answers, it’s too late. Gul says that Merdan is right but it’s up to the bride’s family to host first. Ceylin tries to get out of it by saying she’s tired. Merdan won’t accept a no from anyone. It’s dinner at the Kaya’s.

Metin takes his father aside. He is very angry. How can we face Ceylin’s family? Her father won’t be there. How can we mention his name? How can Cinar handle this? Merdan says this had to happen sooner or later. Come to terms and move on.

Yekta wants to prove Niayzi and Ceylin are connected. Admit it, Seda says, Ceylin did not murder Engin. She’s innocent. I’m going back to Izmir. You burned a college archive to prevent anyone from learning about your diploma. Maybe we shouldn’t be looking for a murderer.

The reporter leaves the envelope with the maintenance guy at Ilcey’s office building.

Cinar is on his way out to meet with the thug, but Ilgaz makes him stay for dinner.

Osman gets Parla who is also on her way out. He makes her come to dinner.

Eren takes Tugce to the dinner despite her strenuous objections.

This must be the strangest celebration dinner ever. Most of the participants would rather not be there. Ceylin gives Ilgaz a little peck on the lips, and Gul looks scandalized. [Oh my, Ilcey got caught. Is this sixth grade?] Awkward conversation abounds. Gul notes that Cinar was a friend of Inci’s. She thought he was a classmate, but he only worked on campus.

Eren and Tugce and Osman and Parla arrive at the same time. They introduce the girls to each other not knowing they have already committed a crime together. The girls have to pretend. And then Ceylin introduces the girls to Cinar. Lol.

Only Serdar and Merve show up to meet with the thug. He sends Serdar off to get the rest of the gang. Merve will stay with him in the meantime.

Merdan asks Gul about her husband. He’s a sailor isn’t he? Cinar turns white. Yes, he’s on a trip, she replies. May God bring him back quickly. [It would take a miracle from God to bring him back.]

Cinar asks for the young’uns to be excused to watch a movie inside. Cinar is upset that Tugce’s father is a cop. And he’s close friends with Ilgaz and Metin! They will catch us! Cinar checks his phone. Serdar has called dozens of times. He calls him back. Where the hell are you, Serdar asks. I’ll be there, Cinar says, the girls are here and I’ll bring the checkbooks.

Pars and Neva have dinner in her new place. Pars has nothing nice to say about it. Cuneyt is supposed to come over later. Pars mentions Ceylin’s acquittal. Neva thinks her brother is upset that he can’t be celebrating with them. You blame me for breaking up your friendship, she says. Pars denies it. It wasn’t a real friendship. He’s done with Ilgaz forever.

Pars runs into Cuneyt on his way out. He says, I’m Neva’s older brother. DA Pars is one person and Neva’s brother is another. As her older brother, I have to set ground rules. My sister is the only family I have left in this life. Only I can bother her. Act accordingly. Good night.

Dinner is over, guests are leaving and Merdan tells Gul that next time they will discuss the wedding. [Eye rolls here.] Gul politely answers, we hope you will visit us in our home next time.

Checkbooks are delivered and Merve lets Serdar have it for leaving her with the thug.
Ilcey are in Ilgaz’s apartment. She’s found some info. The man Niyazi killed in Kartepe was Yekta’s client. I can use this to prove he hired Niyazi, she says. She’s excited. Ilgaz tells her to enjoy her freedom and relax for a while. They get into bed….

Next day, Ceylin is sure she found Yekta’s connection to Niyazi. Two brothers had a fight. The family took them to Kartepe to reconcile. One of them was murdered but no one suspected the brother.

Ilgaz thinks someone must have suspected him but didn’t investigate. Or, Ceylin notes, it wasn’t investigated enough. The case was marked unsolved. She adds, Yekta was in Kartepe and he’s in the file as a witness. Let’s tell Pars.

Ilgaz wrote his letter asking for his DA job back.

The maintenance man just misses giving Ceylin the letter.

Lacin waits outside the prison for Murat to be released. Yekta shows up. According to him, she’s planning to escape with her lover. She sold the love shack and has plane tickets.

He grabs her and says, but love loves suffering, Lacin. Love loves the impossible! It adores sad endings. There are no happy endings. [yes, because this is a dizi!] They write about Romeo and Juliet… Leyla and Mecnun… and now Lacin and Murat.

Lacin begs him to let her go. No, he replies, you are my wife. I’ll never let you go. Go home and think of a way to make me smile when I come home tonight. If not, I’ll bury that idiot who thinks he’s free. Yekta threatens her. Don’t contact him again or I’ll drop your body off at the morgue myself.

Seda comes to Merdan’s place. She asks, what was it you said? Two secrets and a body? Or two bodies and a secret? Or are there more bodies and more secrets no one knows about? Merdan asks her to get to the point.

I couldn’t find the body, Seda replies, but I found something much more valuable. I learned the secret you and Yekta share. The reason you stay out of each other’s way. A woman was beaten to death by her husband. A child starved for attention was left behind. A heartless father. Merdan is greatly affected.

Seda continues, you were his executioner. It’s a sad story and a bloody one. Merdan answers, I stared at the devil he called father, with wide eyes. He was this big (very little). He was innocent and motherless. The cold-blooded father was going to kill his son just because he needed care. I didn’t hesitate, I took his life. I don’t regret what I did, I never have!

That’s when Yekta showed up, Seda notes, he tampered with the paternity test and made it seem you were the father. You couldn’t tell your family, you came and went. You had another child for whom you were even ready to die. You took him to a nursing home. Merdan admits this and says, he is dead now, but he was the closest thing to my heart.

Seda says, Yekta doesn’t help anyone for free. In exchange, you found someone willing to take the fall for the accident that Yekta caused. [remember Lacin mentioned that.] She asks, how many bodies and how many secrets are there?

Stop asking questions, Merdan replies, I didn’t die with the dead. You found our secret. Say what you have to say. Seda says this info has been stored digitally. If you make a mistake, or bother me or my daughter, I won’t hesitate to destroy you and Yekta. I’ll return to Izmir. I’m not responsible for what happens next.

Ilcey bring their findings to Pars. Pars says it’s interesting but it’s a dead end. Ilgaz counters, this proves that Yekta knew Niyazi. Pars calls it conjecture and it’s not enough. Eren shows up. They found Niyazi’s rolodex with Yekta’s card. His personal number was written on the back. It’s a match to Yekta’s writing. Eren says that 100,000 was withdrawn from Lacin’s account one day before Engin was poisoned.

Lacin cries and Yekta shouts, enough! From now on, I want you to smile when I come home, with makeup and dressed for the occasion. He pushes her around. You won’t get to breathe without my permission. Her phone rings. He takes it. It’s Seda. You won’t be able to use your phone anymore, he decrees, you won’t even be allowed out in the yard! Lacin sobs and pleads. You’ll have plenty of time to earn my forgiveness, he replies, you have a hard task ahead. No one can fool me.

Police cars with sirens blaring pull up to the Tilmen house. Eren enters and states, Yekta Tilmen, the DAs office has requested you be detained as a suspect in the murder of Engin Tilmen. Yekta is stunned. Eren says Pars has notified the Bar. [this is too good]

Ceylin is disappointed Eren didn’t allow her go with him. [It’s obvious to everyone why.] Ceylin goes up to the office while Ilgaz goes to get something for them to eat. The maintenance man finally delivers the letter. She asks, who dropped it off? He doesn’t know the man.

 

secrets #45 part 4

There’s a flash drive in the envelope. Ceylin plugs it in. It’s Engin! Hello Ceylin! Congratulations, you’re a free woman. He laughs. Don’t be scared. I’m dead, just like you wanted. But even if I’m dead, I’ll continue to surprise you. You can ask for help from whoever you want and if you are still in a relationship with him, your DA will help you. I’m done. Goodbye, my friend.

Ilgaz returns and Ceylin quickly closes her laptop. She says he startled her. He asks, what were you watching? Nothing, she replies. He’s got that suspicious look. You weren’t spying on anyone, he asks. He gives her a look. They go to the laptop. She tells him not to make fun of her. She pulls up a cat video. What were you watching before that, he asks. Another cat video, she answers. They eat.

Eren tells Lacin they will keep her informed. Great shot of Yekta in the back of the police car. Lacin asks Gonul to get her phone. Yekta takes out his phone and texts: I’ve been arrested as a suspect in my son’s murder. The real murderer, Ceylin Erguvan Kaya, walks free. What more do we have to put up with?

Lacin calls Cuneyt with the news. She first tried to call Seda, but she didn’t answer. Cuneyt doesn’t know where Seda is, but will find out what’s happening and get back to Lacin.

Ece tells Cuneyt that Seda returned to Izmir. Cuneyt smiles as if he’s making a connection.

Merdan is dropped off at a house. He gets a call. You’re on the plane? I hope you make it home safe and sound, señora counselor.

Merdan rings the doorbell. A woman answers. She’s happy to see him. Dr. Merdan! How are you? Is the child inside, he asks. He enters the house. An expressionless young boy is playing with a puzzle. He has headphones on. Merdan sees him…Gorkem. He gets down on the floor next to the boy. Gorkem, son.

Merdan moves the headphones, and the boy gets upset. He starts rocking. You said you’d take me home, you promised. I will, Merdan tells him. The boy keeps repeating, you promised. Merdan says I’m getting our home ready. You’ll never be bored there. Your sister is there. Defne. She’ll be your friend. You’ll have brothers too, Ilgaz and Cinar. When will that be, Gorkem asks. Pars barges in on the AG. I heard Ilgaz wants to come back. A friend who works on the committee called me. The timing isn’t convenient right now. The AG says the committee contacted him, too. We have 5 openings. I told them I’d be happy to have Ilgaz back. Pars is disappointed. The AG doesn’t care what Pars thinks, Ilgaz is coming back. Find a way to get along.

I think Ilgaz is still wondering what Ceylin was watching on her laptop. She’s wondering what Yekta is doing now. Does he realize his game is over? I hope we get a real ruling this time. She has faith in Pars. Ilgaz wants to check if the file was uploaded. She stops him—finish your food. Aren’t you curious, he asks. Not right now, she replies. I’ve had enough of the Tilmens for the moment.

There’s a heated argument going on in the courthouse hallway. Pars asks Ridvan about it. He doesn’t know much but this case is Derya’s.

A man and woman explain the situation to Derya. Our daughter is young, 16 yrs old. She was kidnapped, the woman cries. They came to our home and threatened us, the man says. They took our daughter. We went to their house to see her, but they wouldn’t let us in. I begged and they gave us coffee. They showed Fatma around the house. Then they said she (the daughter) wasn’t with them. They did something bad to her the woman says, I saw her sweater. They said the sweater belonged to them, the man adds, then they kicked us out.

Pars enters Derya’s office. Is there anything I can do? Yes, she replies, you can leave us and close the door on the way out. Pars leaves and tells Ridvan to alert security.
Derya tells the parents she will take their statements. Don’t worry, we will figure this out.

Ilgaz notes that Ceylin has been acting strange since he came back to the office. Is there a problem? She says she’s just releasing the tension from the past few days. She goes to the bathroom, he heads for the laptop.

Yekta is brought to the courthouse and he runs into some of those idiots from Derya’s case. He speaks to Pars in the hall. I’ve never been detained. I hope this is nothing personal. Pars ignores this and tells Eren to take Yekta to the office.

Time for Derya to take the other person’s (Ugur) statement. A few other mean looking men come in with him. Derya asks them to leave. Only Ugur can stay. No one budges. Pars enters and takes over. He makes sure the others leave. He orders Ugur to sit. Derya isn’t exactly pleased with his interference.

Pars tells Eren to stick around. He doesn’t like this family. They want to make trouble.
Ceylin erases the board. The criminal will be taken to trial. Are you sure, Ilgaz asks. You’re a lawyer, you know you can’t make a claim like that. He was just detained. He will plead his case and new evidence will be evaluated. Ceylin is putting her faith in Pars again. Yekta will be a flight risk and be remanded.

Eren lets Ilgaz know that Yekta was brought to Pars. Ilgaz says, let’s go. Ceylin wants to stay. He can testify, I don’t care, she says. Ilgaz thinks they might have to intervene. Are you sure? Ceylin says the baby’s test results are coming today. I promised I’d be with Aylin. [notice Ceylin takes her laptop]

Zumrut watches at the window as the test results are delivered to Aylin.

Ceylin tells Ilgaz it will be uncomfortable if Osman is the father. So she’s going to spend the night there. He understands. She stops in the doorway, it looks like she wants to tell him… He asks, is there something you’d like to add? I love you very much, she replies.

Yekta argues with Pars. What basis do you have to detain me? You accused someone else at your pompous performance. You said Ceylin was guilty. Did you switch sides? Pars says, enough! If you’re done, let’s get started. Mind your manners. We have evidence to bring you in. Pars orders him to sit.

Pars starts, January 20, 2020. Muza Endermenyi was murdered in a hotel in Kartepe. You were staying at the same hotel. Is going on vacation illegal, Yekta snarks. Pars asks, with the victim’s brother? Things happen, Yekta replies. Pars continues, the brother who’s on vacation is your client. The brothers are fighting. The brother who isn’t your client is murdered. So far, the puzzle pieces fit.

Yekta laughs. This is absurd. That man was killed in front of a crowd. Yes, I was there. I told the police. It’s in the file. Pars says, the weapon found in Niyazi’s house, which we believe belongs to the gunman, is a match to the bullet in the man’s body. We found the culprit in this unsolved case. The bullet in Engin’s body was also fired from the same gun. Niyazi’s gun.

Yekta accuses Pars of being condescending. Pars says it’s obvious. Niyazi was the hitman. Who hired him? Yekta names Ceylin. She had my son killed.

Pars continues, we found a rolodex at Niyazi’s. Your business card was in it. A number was written and we are sure this is your handwriting and your personal number. Yekta laughs again, so what, I give everybody my card. Are you going to blame me for every crime they commit?

Pars has more. Before the death of your son, your wife, Lacin, withdrew 100,000 from her account. Why is that? Yekta says he has no idea. I don’t keep track of small sums. My wife can withdraw whatever and spend.

Pars replies, I should take you downstairs so you can see the inside of a cell? In the meantime, let me think and investigate further. I’ll ask that you be remanded into custody. Yekta scoffs, what kind of custody. I’m not even a suspect. These things happen, Pars tells him, you might find this shocking, you’re offering a statement at the DA’s office.

Ilgaz talks to the maintenance man. Did someone come to our office after Ceylin arrived? He tells Ilgaz about the letter. A man dropped it off. He said it was urgent.

Ilgaz goes back upstairs. He looks through Ceylin’s desk. He finds the torn envelope in the trash can.

And we are out.

Following two hour episodes is hard enough. Thank you, dondi356, for recapping. It is a good show.

"Suddenly the power goes out in the building." A bit too much. We get the point. It was close.
Ceylin - saved at last second.

My interpretation is that Merdan adopted that boy whose father he killed. His adopted son is dead now, and Gorkem is the son of his adopted son.

"I’m dead, just like you wanted. But even if I’m dead, I’ll continue to surprise you. -...- You can ask for help from whoever you want" They should have put a commercial break in between these sentences because the authors didn't show us the full video, just the beginning and the end. Just a speculation, I think the message had to do with Zafer, and Engin was likely insinuating that Ilgaz was involved somehow.

The evidence against Yekta doesn't look too strong. But it was satisfying seeing him detained.
