Welcome to Page 1 (Monday edition) of the Telemundo y Más page, issued twice a week: Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM.

Here are the current telenovelas (all times are Eastern Daylight Time):

9 - 10PM - Betty en NY**
10 - 11PM - Secretos de Sangre
12 - 1AM - Juego de Mentiras**

**According to both Zap2It and Telemundo's Program Guide, Juego de Mentiras will have two more episodes. On Tuesday, July 4, we will see what Zap2It claims is "Season 1 episode 75," whose title is "Una vida por otra." On Wednesday, July 5, Zap2It claims we will see "Season 1, episode 82" (no title). #75 – Una Vida por Otra – parte 1 de 3

César, FJ and Adriana waste time explaining things to Renata. She seems to think Chuy wouldn’t have done anything more because of the big bucks she gave him.

When César tells her that Cami is in danger, she does one of her classic rants, blaming Adriana for everything, including having gotten Pascual to fall in love with her. In a low voice from Adriana: “It wasn’t that hard to get Pascual to fall in love with me.” [Subtext – seeing who he’s married to}

Adriana admits she’s responsible for much that happened, but she wants to save Camila. She tells Renata that Noelia can’t know that she’s Adriana. Speaking of Noelia, she runs in asking about Camila.

And…there she is in that boarded up room in Chuy’s dream house. [I’m sorry. I could have pulled off a bunch of those flimsy looking boards, broken the glass, opened the window and have been long gone.] Cami hears a helicopter. [Yep! Renata definitely forked over the big bucks.] I’d like to order one of those to get me to theater productions in San Francisco on time. We see Chuy loading up a heavy box.

César and FJ reassure Noelia. Adriana (as Mariana) approaches Noelia and calls her niece. She says that she knows her mother is also very proud of her. Tearing up a bit, she says that Noelia’s mother is always right there in her heart, helping her.

In the car Adriana gives César the diary she found in his bedroom. “If Noelia someday asks about her mother, who she was, she’ll find the answers here” Adriana says that she knows Noelia is now seeing Camila as her mother and she’s all right with that. César asks what Viewerville is thinking: “Why do you say things as if you’re going to die? You’re the bait for the nutcase. I won’t let anything happen to you!”

Chuy has sent César the meeting place. César tells FJ to stay out of sight.

Tomás comes to the Zoo and greets the children. They ask him if he wants to play escondidas (hide and seek) and he readily agrees. He tells Renata that tomorrow is Olga’s funeral and yesterday was his wedding. And not a sign of Camila. She keeps mum. We see Inés, at the Foundation, trying to reach Camila.

Inés remembers the gathering where Camila told Valeria, Tomás and herself about her theory that Adriana came into their lives because Valeria’s son knew he was a Del Rio. [Nope, Cami. You’re giving Chuy more credit than he deserves.] But she’s right that Chuy was the reason Adriana entered their lives.

Renata comes to the Big House and is subjected to the treatment the peons get, including a pat down. She mutters to herself that she’d rather be dead than in a place like this as she awaits Pascual. [Foreshadowing?]

César and Adriana arrive at the agreed upon place. César tells FJ over the phone to block Chuy’s way if he tries to leave. We hear the sound of a helicopter. Chuy jumps out and yells to Adriana how powerful he is now. He also yells that Adriana should come. César tells him to release Cami first. Chuy fires into the air and says that he’s the one giving the orders. He points a gun and gives Adriana until the count of 20 to come to him.

#75 – Una Vida por Otra – parte 2 de 3

Tomás is playing escondidos with the younger kids while Mary looks at her phone on the couch. [From what we’ve seen so far, she doesn’t know that her father is dead, and I keep expecting her to see it online. ] Noelia tells Tomás about her mother and aunt growing up in an orphanage with a friend called Cara Sucia.

Adriana grabs César’s gun from his waistband and points it at him (César). “That’s my woman!”, shouts Chuy. She says that she’s going with Chuy, but César and Camila deserve to be happy. Chuy refuses to believe Adriana will come and won’t let Cami off the helicopter.

Renata tries to embrace Pascual but isn’t allowed to. She thanks him, under her breath, for taking the blame for Eva’s death. She knows she’s the one who should be locked up. Pascual seems like that’s his plan. He gets maudlin about her having forgiven his infidelities, including covering up the worst thing he did: having fallen in love with the woman that his son loved. He says she’s a great woman [huh?] that he doesn’t deserve. He tells her he knows Chuy is his son. Renata can’t keep her mouth shut and tells him that Chuy kidnapped Camila. [Swell, Renata. The man can’t do anything about it and was resigned to his fate. Now she’s making him crazy.]

Chuy convinces Adriana to put down her gun, puts her into the helicopter and has it take off. While he’s grinning at César, we see something fall out of the helicopter and César’s shocked face. We then see the purpose of the wig, after the commercials. It was on the head of the mannequin that César thought was Cami from a distance. FJ runs up and says: “Now he has them both.”

Pascual learns that Chuy is Cara Sucia He says that their daughter is in grave danger. He hints at suicide if anything happens to her. Renata and Pascual begin to sob together and then are pulled apart.

Inés shows up at the Zoo with Chuy’s file from the orphanage.

Chuy has brought Adriana to the dream house. [María Elisa Camargo does a terrific acting job in this whole scene with Chuy.] When he talks about their life here, she replies: “What life are you talking about?" He says they’re on an island and no one can find them. Adriana: “This is YOUR dream house; the life YOU wanted.” He says that he did it all for her. She laughs at him. Ever since he began this great plan her life has been a disaster. “You killed me! Tried to kill me! You killed my sister! Do you know what I had to do to convince Mariana to meet with me? And the moment this was about to happen, you killed her!”

He says that she betrayed him first with Pascual. She snarls back that what she did doesn’t justify his becoming a crazy person and killing everyone around her. “Look at yourself! You’ve become a murderer, a psychopath. Where is the Chuy I once knew? Go ahead! You want to kill me? You already tried once. But this time, it will be easier. I’m in front of you and ready. Shoot, cabrón Shoot, Chuy! This time I guarantee you won’t put the bullet in the wrong sister.”

Chuy starts to cry. He says how much he regretted having shot her in the park. It hurt him he’d never be able to embrace her, kiss her, be with her. He swears that he loves her. “Then let Cami go, and I’ll stay in her place. I swear. He says that he can’t. Cami would tell the police. She tells him they must be realistic. “The whole world knows our secret. You only have two paths: prison or death. If you hurt Cami, you won’t fix anything. On the other hand, if you let her go, we’ll solve many things. Cara Sucia, please, don’t hurt anyone else. I beg you. I’ll stay here, living the life of your dreams, at least until they find us. Let Camila go!” He seems to nod his head and lower the gun.

#75 – Una Vida por Otra – parte 3 de 3

Pascual screams in his cell that his daughter is in danger. [What happened to Barros? Did they let him go to the gum machine?]

César and FJ come back to the Zoo. Noelia asks for Cami and Mary for her mother.

Chuy puts Adriana and Cami in the boarded-up room and locks them in.

Adriana tells Cami about how Chuy ruined the plan to free her. Cami says that she’s sure Chuy won’t hurt them. Adriana scoffs. “He killed Alejandra and killed my sister, thinking it was me. Él es tarado (defective, crazy), resentido. He’s been like that since he was a boy. He could sometimes be a sweet boy. But, if you betrayed him, he would lose his mind. He won’t let us both live. We must come up with a plan. We have to pressure him, get the truth out of him, convince him to let you go. “ Cami insists they’re both going to get away. Adriana doesn’t think that will happen.

Cami asks why Adriana risked herself. Adriana replies that Cami is a better mother for Noelia than she could ever be.

Chuy rages and shoots at the sky from the balcony of the dream house.

César reads from Chuy’s file where it says that he couldn’t tolerate frustration. And that he had bad relationships with the girls in his class. There are some drawings from the file showing a child’s drawing of other children crossed out. FJ wants to involve the police, but César says they need to find the dream house. César says he’s going to his house in case Chuy shows up. We get some more whining from Noelia, but the kid does have a clue to offer. She recognizes the famous house and says that her mother showed it to her. It’s south of Santa Cruz (way north of L.A.).

Linda has been brought in and is helping. César has gotten her to swear she’ll keep the rest of the police out of it. Miguel is helping search as well. Based on the ubiquitous picture of the house Linda says that an architect created houses like these on islands. Perhaps from Chuy’s file, Linda reads that he had an obsession with sea turtles. The mothers leave them (the eggs actually) on the beach. Chuy apparently thought orphans were like baby sea turtles.

Cami tells Adriana she always wanted a sister to play with. Adriana replies that she shared a room with 20 and always dreamed of having her own room. Chuy brings food, saying it’s their last meal. Chuy is annoyed at Adriana and Cami for being friendly. He says a relationship is only for two and points his gun and fires at Camila. Looks like Adriana threw her off the bed and the bullet went into the mattress. Adriana tells him he’ll have to kill her first. Adriana tackles Chuy and Cami runs out. Chuy stalks Cami, promising her a quick end with a bullet. He finds her!

FJ tells César about a marine reserve for sea turtles on an island near Santa Cruz. César, Linda, and FJ plan. They’ll need a quiet boat to approach the island.

Wasted my time watching this novela Telemundo always removes the good novelas!!!

secrets #30 part 1

Eren gets ready to take Ceylin to the courthouse for her statement. Ilgaz checks in with him. Still waiting for the ballistics and GSR result. Ilgaz will meet them at the courthouse.

Pars meets with the AG. They discuss Engin’s murder. The AG is surprised to hear the main suspect is Ceylin. The AG wants to proceed cautiously… let’s make sure, this is a DA’s wife. Pars says all the evidence points to Ceylin. Her enmity with the victim is obvious.

Pars has a request. Since the crime took place in Sile, it should be turned over to that jurisdiction. But the case is very complicated. The AG allows Pars to keep the case and asks to be kept in the loop. He adds, keep an eye on Ilgaz, this is his wife. Emotions can lead to mistakes.

Metin arrives at the Erguvan house. Is it news about Zafer? No, he says, it’s about Ceylin. The family assembles and hears the news—Engin Tilmen escaped and was found dead in the woods. Gul calls it God’s punishment. Aylin hopes he will rot in hell. Metin drops the bomb, the DA had Ceylin arrested under suspicion of Engin’s murder.

Seda shows up at Yekta’s office. She demands answers. What happened? How did it happen? Didn’t you help him escape? You were going to kidnap him in exchange for his silence. Do you think I’m stupid? Did he break the deal and you killed him? Yekta answers, if I killed him, why is Ceylin in custody and not me?

Seda is stunned. You show up here, not knowing anything, Yekta says, Ceylin took revenge. She’s the prime suspect. When she found out about his escape, she killed him. Seda can’t believe it. You think a father could kill his son, Yekta replies, but you doubt Ceylin could’ve done it? Yekta tells Seda to stay by Lacin’s side. She’s devastated and alone. She needs you and you need her, too.

Eren tells IlCey that Pars will handle the investigation. Ilgaz assures Ceylin Pars will handle it swiftly and with transparency. He takes her hand, and they enter the courthouse.

Neva speaks with Pars. Engin’s murder has the courthouse on edge, she says, and Ceylin’s arrest will make the case more important. I hope you are not rushing into this. Wait a minute, Pars asks, you think feelings are involved? Maybe it’s your anger towards Ilgaz, she replies, or your feelings towards Ceylin.

Don’t be ridiculous, Pars snaps back, they got married, that case is closed. I don’t do things that benefit me or my office. I act on evidence. I don’t play favorites or play with people’s rights. [like Neva did?] Pars asks her to leave. [From the Turkish] Before Neva goes, she asks, did Engin threaten Ceylin, too? Otherwise, why would she kill him? Pars says he doesn’t know, but he will ask. I don’t wish bad on anyone, Neva says, but I won’t say I’m sorry that Engin is dead.

Neva leaves Pars’ office and crosses paths with IlCey. She offers a “geçmiş olsun” (may it be in the past). She keys in on IlCey holding hands and it affects her to hear “Ceylin Erguvan Kaya” announced at Pars’ door.

Ilgaz notes that Ceyin does not have a lawyer. She can’t be questioned without one. Pars says that Ceylin is a lawyer and she can defend herself. Ceylin just stares straight ahead. Ilgaz says she can’t. Pars wants Ilgaz to stay out of this. He won’t, she’s his wife. I’m her husband and I support her. I won’t abandon her. Ilgaz tells Ceylin they must find a lawyer who specializes in criminal law.

Ilgaz notes that Ceylin is still in shock. She doesn’t remember anything. I’ll ask and decide, Pars replies. Ask in front of me, Ilgaz says, I’m not leaving. Pars warns Ilgaz, you’re forcing me to kick you out. Pars asks Eren to remove Ilgaz from the room. Ilgaz eventually agrees to leave but first he tells Ceylin he will be right outside the door.

secrets #30 part 2

Pars begins questioning. What happened yesterday? We were trying to find out who poisoned Engin. After that, you left the courthouse. You went to the hospital for your niece. What happened after that? I can’t remember, Ceylin replies. She tries to piece some fragments of memory together. I remember leaving here to go to the hospital, she says.

We see the flashbacks as she speaks. Engin was whistling down the hall when she saw him. She pauses and Pars encourages her to continue. She can’t remember much more than being in a tight space in his car. I heard his voice, she says, he was singing.

Song: Ben Ölmeden Önce/Before I Die – Fatih Erdemci
YouTube with translation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-S_lRjZgL8

Ceylin buries her head in her hands for a moment and says she can’t remember. Pars asks, are you sure? He gets up from behind his desk and sits across from Ceylin. Ceylin, he was found dead in the middle of the woods. He was shot in the heart and a gun was found next to him. Your fingerprints were on it. Your watch was next to him, too. Does this mean anything to you? Her fingers nervously twist her coat. She shakes her head no.

Pars tells her she will be in custody for 4 days. You have 4 days to remember. In the meantime, pray that the shells and bullets don’t match the weapon you held or that there are no traces of residue on your hand. If you can’t remember, I’ll take you to the magistrate and you’ll be held without bail. Think this through, calmly, he advises. No answer from Ceylin.

Pars asks Eren to take Ceylin back to the station. He asks Ridvan to inform the bar association that Ceylin is in custody.

Ceylin’s family arrives at the courthouse. They spot each other. Ceylin runs to hug her mother. With a look from Ilgaz, Eren allows the family to have a minute together before they take Ceylin. Gul tells Ceylin she knows she is innocent. You couldn’t have done this. Aylin says this is slander. Parla gives her aunt a hug.

Metin shows up at Merdan’s tea house. Cinar is surprised to see him. So is Merdan. Is there a place we can have some privacy, Metin asks his father. Metin wants to skip any pleasantries. He gets down to business—Engin is dead. What does that have to do with us, Merdan replies. He acted on his own and paid for his sins. He deserved it. Many things happened to my grandson because of him.

Who are you, Metin asks. You’re a murderer! A thief! A swindler! You killed Engin, right? Just like you killed the guy that stabbed Cinar, right? If you are so sure, Merdan replies, cuff me! He holds his hands out. Metin continues, you killed Engin and pinned it on that lawyer so she’d stop poking around her father’s disappearance and leave Ilgaz alone. Everything fixed!

Merdan rises from his chair, listen son, don’t ask questions for which you’d rather not know the answers. You’ll regret it. Metin warns, if I find any evidence that leads me to you, even if you are my father, I won’t care what happens. I’ll take you to interrogation and I’ll pressure you until you talk! Then I will put you in jail like you deserve! Understand?

Ilgaz sits outside Ceylin’s cell. Metin shows up and asks him if he’s going home. No answer. Metin continues, don’t let anger get the best of you. You shouldn’t be here. I’m not going anywhere, Ilgaz replies. And he’s still there in the morning, watching Ceylin asleep in her cell, when Eren comes by. He has bad news. The bullets match the gun and GSR was found on Ceylin’s hand. Pars referred her to the court.

secrets #30 part 3

Reporters are waiting for Yekta and Lacin as they show up at the courthouse. He makes a statement. It’s obvious who the culprit is—Ceylin Erguvan. She is in custody. She will appear in court later and will be remanded without bail. She will be tried and receive the harshest punishment. It should be a lesson and an example for everyone. This is not how justice is served in this country. As a lawyer, I am ashamed of this. [notice Seda’s face] A colleague viciously murdered my son in revenge. She must suffer so our pain is more bearable. Thank you.

Ceylin arrives at the courthouse. The reporters flock to her. Did you kill Engin Tilmen? Did you do it for revenge? Ilgaz waves them away. No questions. They hurry inside.

Ceylin turns to Ilgaz, what if I did it? You know I could have done it, right? I came very close to doing it, she admits. Remember that incident in the office? I had a very hard time restraining myself. I barely held back. She gets emotional. He hurt Parla. First Inci, then Parla. Parla is the same as Inci to me.

Not only that, Ceylin continues, he messed with you, me, and Eren. When they hurt the people you love and you can’t hold back your rage, you lose your mind. Maybe I couldn’t hold back this time. Maybe I dehumanized myself. You say to be a person means you choose to be good. Maybe I chose otherwise, Ilgaz. I might have killed Engin.

We get some flashbacks to back Ceylin’s supposition. She told Seda if Engin got out of jail, she would kill him herself. Ilgaz had to pull her away. When they saw that Engin took the money from the dumpster, Ceylin lost it. She shouted at Eren and vowed to kill Engin. Ilgaz had to hold her back.

Ilgaz assures Ceylin she didn’t do it. Anyone can lose their temper. You are a straight talker, but that doesn’t mean you did it. Don’t punish yourself like this. You can’t control your words when you get angry, but I know the purity in you. I see it. As the investigation moves along, I’m more convinced it wasn’t you.

A hearing is held in the judge’s office. Pars makes the case: the defendant’s watch, the prints on the gun, the gunpowder trace on her hand. The bullets and casing found match the same gun. All of this leads us to a single suspect, Ceylin Erguvan Kaya. Silence. Pars continues, she is a lawyer. Her residence is obvious. But still I request she be held without bail.

The judge asks, what do you have to say Ceylin Hanım? Did you kill Engin Tilmen? We get a flashback to that night. Is Ceylin remembering? In the woods, Ceylin aims a gun at Engin. He looks at her with tears in his eyes. Her hand shakes. Don’t do it, he pleads.

We see Ceylin’s face in the courtroom, she’s remembering a gunshot. Back to that night, Engin falls on the ground. End flash. Ceylin is frozen, she clutches her throat. The judge speaks, the defendant has decided to remain silent. I get goosebumps when it comes to murder. That’s why I’ve decided the defendant will await trial without bail. Silence.

Ilgaz tells Ceylin they will take her to prison now. I’ll be there when they book you. The jandarma says the van to take Ceylin broke down. Ilgaz wants Ceylin to wait with him. Pars wants her sent to the holding area. Ilgaz insists Ceylin is going with him. I’ll be responsible. File a complaint if you want. Ilgaz takes her and Pars orders the jandarma to follow.

Pars informs Eren of the situation. Ilgaz has gone crazy. Go wait in his office. Don’t let him make a mistake.

Cuneyt wants a word with Neva. She doesn’t look as happy with him as she was over dinner.

Yekta tells Lacin it’s over, time to go. She asks Seda, is this real? Are you sure Ceylin killed Engin? Yekta is certain. Seda looks like she might have doubts.

secrets #30 part 4

The AG approaches Pars in the hallway. He saw Ilgaz and Ceylin. Was she released, he asks? No, Pars replies, the judge ordered no bail…. The AG interrupts, then why is she walking down the hall? Pars explains about the vehicle breakdown. I ordered her to custody, but Ilgaz wanted Ceylin to wait in his office.

In the office, Ilgaz asks if Ceylin is alright. She shakes her head no. Why were you quiet, he asks. You could have said you didn’t do it. You could have said you don’t remember. She stares straight ahead. Look at me, Ilgaz says, we’ll keep fighting. We’ll find a good lawyer, one of our professors [Sahver?] Someone you care for and can trust. I’ll ask Pars to speed up the prosecution. And I’ll conduct my own investigation. We’ll contest your pre-trial detention. You won’t be behind bars. We will prove your innocence.

Ceylin replies, Ilgaz… I…. maybe I could have done it. Maybe I did. I held the gun in my hand. It was cold, I held it. She starts to cry. I heard birds… crowing, I could smell the pines. I heard his heartbeat. She springs from the chair. I remember Engin’s heartbeat. He was scared, I saw the fear in his eyes. He was scared because I pointed the gun at him.
Ilgaz tries to calm her. Tell me more, he says. The AG knocks at Ilgaz’s door. Pars, Eren and the jandarmas are with him. Open the door. Ilgaz ignores it. He asks Ceylin, did you pull the trigger? Another knock. Ceylin says she can’t remember. More knocking. Open the door immediately!

Pars starts knocking… Ilgaz! Ilgaz questions Ceylin again—did you pull the trigger? Please try to remember, think hard. The pounding at the office door continues. Ceylin struggles to remember. I remember he fell, she says, there was blood and he looked me in the eyes. He looked at me like he was asking why. He stared at me. I don’t remember anything else.

The AG says that’s enough. He gives the order to break down the door. The assistant shows up, she has a spare key. Ilgaz opens the door just as Pars is about to turn the key. Well done, Pars snarks, bravo! Ilgaz asks if the vehicle is ready. Yes, they sent a new one.

Ilgaz partially closes the door. He goes back to Ceylin, I’m here. I’m not leaving. I love you too much. She cries. I love you no matter what, he tells her. She nods in understanding.

Eren comes to take her. IlCey hug. She sobs. Eren has to break it up. The AG tells Ilgaz he has to stay. You’re not going anywhere. He asks Pars to come inside and close the door.

Cut to Gul ranting outside about Ceylin getting married. Enough, Aylin says, you’re worried about Ceylin’s unannounced marriage? Ceylin has been arrested and is being brought to prison. Her prints are on the gun. They are calling her a murderer! And you ask why she got married without telling us? Gul shouts back, I’m saying this happened for a reason! I’m saying we are to blame for what happened!

Ceylin exits the courthouse, and her family runs to her. Gul hugs her, they have to pull her away.

And we are out.

Thanks so much for this spectacular recap! I haven't been able to watch the episode, and I may not be able to do so sometime tomorow. My sister and her husband are visiting from the East Coast. We haven't seen each other since 2019, so I want to spend all my time with them while they're here. The timing is unfortunate in terms of the telenovela, but I'm thrilled that she's here. Enough said.

Secrets

Thank you, dondi356. Thanks for the song link.

It is not fair that during the hearing, about a murder case no less, the defendant had no legal representation. Being a lawyer herself is not an excuse.

JuegoS

Novelera,, thank you for every detail .

I liked the call back to the juegos with Tomas and Inez playing hide and seek with the kids . I wish Inez would buy a hair band or a barette . She looked so pretty at the wedding .

Gee, what a scene between Renata and Pasqual. Were they actually in love long , long ago before all Pasqual's women and Ren's trying to be large and in charge of everyone and everything everywhere all the time . That was quite a scene Big Ed pulled howling and crying in his cell .

Chuy is a lost soul ...and Adriana , too, I think. They were both damaged beyond repair.

juego

excellent recap novelera, you sure made a nice story out of an episode where not much happened.

nice point you made of Renata driving Pascual nuts to be sent back to his cell, of course he started it by calling her beautiful.

well, there was Cesar's plan, what was it again, at least he brought a gun this time, but wait, I can see why he doesn't normally have one. (say there must be enough guns at the del Rio place for everyone to have one)

so Cesar's team is looking for a beach house (that he has the wrong picture of) near Santa Cruz on a tip from Noelia, (don't bother tracking the money Renata gave Chuy or recent real estate sales) but if I got this right, after an all nighter they discover Chuy was fascinated with sea turtles, huh, and FJ narrows the search to an island named Santa Cruz (and not the town).

Linda says a speedboat is too noisy, suggests a rowboat, not a favorite idea.

secrets

Thanks so much, dondi! Every episode is jam packed with clues and suspicions. I suppose it's likely that it was Merdan who arranged killing Engin, mostly to protect Cinar and perhaps also to protect Ilgaz. But something is telling me that's too easy a solution. I am 100% sure Ceylin did not shoot him. That would put a cramp in the HEA for our two protagonists.

I can't stand that AG, and I go in and out about standing Pars. I know this is Turkey and not the U.S., but I believe anything Ceylin said during Pars questioning would be inadmissible in court because of lack of effective counsel. Even if the case could be made that an attorney could be their own lawyer, a person with an obvious case of shock and likely a concussion could not give evidence that would stand up.

I did enjoy the flashback of the smirk erased from Engin's face as he saw the gun in Ceylin's hand. I am anxiously awaiting the flashback showing how the two of them got from the car into the forest and who was in pursuit and pulled the trigger.

Thanks also, dondi, for correctly stating what happened. For some reason my mistaken memory was of Ceylin picking up the gun. As you mentioned, she woke up with it in her hand and threw it away as if it were a snake in her hand. And, as you also opined, the real killer could have grabbed her hand while she was unconscious and shot into the woods to give her the GSR.

juego

Looks like there won't be any volunteers to recap tonight. Thanks, Telemundo, for putting the last episode up on the night of the 4th of July after subjecting us to midnight shows. Tonight is the finale. I don{t think I can do another long recap. The one I put up late last night, should I say early morning, wore me out. I'll put up something, and maybe commenters can then elaborate on the details.

Juego

Novelera, thanks for the recap and volunteering to post something about the Gran Final. I'm still scratching my head looking at the scheduling.

I wonder how everything will end... I assume Cami, César and Noelia will get a HEA, Pascual will continue being in jail, Adriana probably won't survive and Chuy will die, but I don't know about the other characters. I'm especially curious what will happen to Renata. Jail would be a good option for her.

This ended very suddenly. Some days ago I planned on recapping Friday's show, only to see that there WON'T be a show on Friday! I wonder what the missing 76-81 episodes showed. IMO they took some scenes from these episodes and edited them in 75.

Thanks again.

#82 (Huh?)

Cami fights for her life verbally, reminding Chuy of when Olga sang him a song to calm him while she listened outside his bedroom door. She begs him for her life, telling him she’s pregnant.

We continue with Linda, César, and FJ looking for Chuy’s island. They find it!

Chuy says he isn’t going to kill Cami today in honor of his mother’s funeral.

FJ and César decide to motor in a small boat to a certain point. And then to remar (row) so as to not alert Chuy. [FJ leaves for the mission in a white shirt and dress pants, while César has on a flannel shirt and jeans. More class distinctions?]

Looks like Verónica betrayed Renata. She is on the cover of a magazine, but the article is a takedown of her and JetAir.

Cami tells Adriana she’s pregnant. Adriana is very happy. Cami tells her they have to survive.

Chuy does not attend his mother’s funeral, as the cops had hoped. He has himself a pity party instead.

Adriana starts to charm Chuy when he comes into their bedroom armed. She gets close enough to him to knee him in the jewels. Cami grabs the gun. Chuy throws Adriana violently to the ground and runs after Cami. As Cami runs down the stairs she spies César, conveniently walking from the boat. She runs into his arms. They immediately hide.

FJ tries to reason with Chuy, the mad dog. Chuy breaks the news to him that they’re half brothers. Guess those shots at the amusement park that killed Mariana were lucky ones. He now looks like the worst TN shooter ever. He misses FJ about four times.

Adriana comes to. When she starts to descend those stairs and calls out to Chuy, César jumps him. They fight in and out of the pool. Adriana has gotten the gum and fires a warning shot. She tells Chuy it’s over. He tells her she needs to choose between him and them (César and Cami). Chuy pushes into her and we get the usual: a shot rings out, horrified face on Adriana, and then a commercial break. Whew! It’s Chuy who’s been shot. It appears fatal and he falls into the pool.

César and Cami come back to the Zoo. Mary and Joseph are told that their mother is on a trip. Then later it looks like Tomás and Inés will adopt Mary and Joseph.

Adriana is in the shower at César’s house. The doorbell rings. It’s FJ. They embrace, but she talks seriously about giving herself up, FJ talks her out of hit and hot kisses ensue.

Cami comes to visit Pascual and tells him about the pregnancy. He’s delighted.

Renata tries to get Tomás to stay with her. Nope.

Months later we see Adriana and FJ on some lovely, deserted beach. She thinks back to the beginning of the novela when she wished César would find someone to love him and Noelia a true mother. They look very happy together. She tells him he’s a prince.

Cami and César get married in church. [Hmmm. His wife is alive. Quickie divorce? Or just not telling the priest that Adriana didn’t die at the amusement park.]

Renata seems to be losing it. She’s having dinner, well dressed and with full makeup. She’s talking business with Ghost Eva. Ghost Olga is serving her wine. Then her fantasy goes poof and we see she has no makeup on, is all alone, and only drinking water.

Juego

Novelera , thank you for an excellent recap . I haven't watched this episode yet. Is that the finale?

Juego

novelera, it is so nice of you to go the extra mile and get a recap posted, and as always, informative and a delight to read.

the telemundo site has this epi listed it as #76 "Pocas tortugas llegan al mar", and it doesn't look like any serious editing, just a budget gone, out of money thingy.

note: no sea turtles were harmed (or seen) in the making of this episode.

so Chuy gets the "I love you" kiss and gunshot to the gut, his signature move.

not sure why we left Pascual in jail, but I guess Cami is working on it, maybe after the honeymoon, life with GumChew will probably ruin him or perhaps he too will have a daughter/grandson that drift away and never come to see him.

not sure if Renata is any more miserable than she normally is, tuna in a can isn't that bad, she can always finish the pergola.

I thought it cruel no one bothered to mention to Mariana's kids that both their parents are dead, and there is something uncanny in the way neither of them seem to care.

yep novelera, I'm going to go with Adriana being declared legally dead and no one wanted to turn over that rock.

interesting wedding guests, Vero, Yvonne, Miguelito, kind of a cast party, they should have had a back row with Eva, Alejandra, Chuy, Estela, Jacinta, Lucy (from the clinic, I guess the kidnapper was Luisa).

thanks again novelera for writing and sharing all of your recaps with us.

secrets #31 part 1

Sorry, this is long. There were a lot of details regarding the case that I thought were important. Please feel free to add or correct.

Quote for Turkish ep #15: "If you fall, I'll pick you up, if not, I will lay down with you." - Julio Cortázar

Eren assures Ceylin, DA Ilgaz and I will get you out. Gul cries for her daughter as she’s placed in the van.

The AG lays it out for Ilgaz. I understand, she’s your wife and you’re suffering. But you have a duty to fulfill. You went too far. If this happens again, I’ll start an investigation and I’ll have you suspended. Consider your next steps. Remember who you are and your position. He turns to Pars—help me with this. The AG leaves.

Pars tells Ilgaz, I get that you’re scared and worried, but don’t do this. We are bound by a thin thread and I’ll care for it. I need you to act accordingly. The evidence is there. What do your years of experience tell you? She clearly had a lapse in judgment. Ceylin pulled the trigger. I don’t want it to be true, but that’s what happened. Face it. We’ve seen how a man who was incapable of hurting an ant, shows up here with blood on his hands. No one believed it. Ilgaz asks, are you done? Yes. Pars leaves.

Lacin watches Gul and family from a window in the courthouse. She remembers when Gul came to her house. She gave me a shroud. She said, “I hope you have to use it on your son soon. Then you’ll know true pain.” She cursed my son and he died. Yekta asks when was this? What did you do with it? She can’t remember exactly but it’s probably somewhere in the house. Yekta wants to go home immediately.

Umut gives Metin an update from the courthouse. Ceylin was remanded into custody.

Pars stops Eren in the hallway. Going to see your friend? Aren’t you working to solve a murder case? Get to work! Then he calls Eren back and tells him, you don’t understand anything because the brain shuts off when emotions are involved. Don’t come back until I say so.

Ceylin arrives at the prison. She’s processed and searched. She’s taken to a temporary cell. The guard tells her she will be there for a few days. Then she will see a psychologist and speak to the committee, and they will decide where she will stay.

The guard announces the new arrival to the cell. This is Ceylin, make space for her. The ladies greet her with the standard, may God help you, may this pass. Ceylin quietly shrinks down on a bunk.

The AG is still steamed over Ilgaz. He tells Pars, I reprimanded him and he remained silent. I know we are talking about Ilgaz, and I know he’s human. Pars replies, this is his wife, it’s a lot to deal with. Anyone would be confused. The AG can’t accept this.

Pars reasons, we don’t know what we’ll do until we are put to the test. He sighs, when someone we love is in trouble, we get confused. You say she would never do it, you believe her. You defend her more than anyone and then, you realize you’re wrong. [Is that Neva or Ceylin?] Ceylin has a temper, Pars admits, she’s brave, intrepid, but it’s hard to believe she is a murderer. We should try to understand Ilgaz.

The AG doesn’t care. We don’t work with understanding or emotions. The rules are written. We have laws and don’t tolerate failures. The AG doesn’t appreciate Pars’ supportive attitude either. He warns, don’t make me group you with him. Pars assures him this isn’t the case. He was thinking like a civilian.

The AG makes it clear to Pars that if Ilgaz does anything like this again, he’s to tell him immediately. The headlines will read, “DA’s wife is a murderer.” All eyes will be on us. There’s also Yekta. He’ll be watching for mistakes. Don’t let that happen. Don’t let Ilgaz interfere. His father works at the station, he has friends there. Block his attempts to get information.

secrets #31 part 2

The AG cautions, if you fail and information gets out, there will be consequences. I’ll open a case against Ilgaz and he will be suspended while the investigation is on. [Turkish] If that doesn’t stop him, he will destroy his career. We’ll be sad to see Ilgaz leave. People come and go, but the law remains. We need the law like bread and water. I won’t dishonor it. Pars says he understands.

Metin comes to see Ilgaz. He doesn’t quite know what to say. He’s sorry. That’s life, he laments, everything comes crashing down at once. My hands are tied. No matter what, it all comes back to Ceylin. Ilgaz asks if Metin has made up his mind based on the evidence. Metin is not saying that. Everyone is almost certain, he replies, there’s little doubt. He assumes Ilgaz has his own doubts.

Metin notes Ceylin didn’t deny it at the hearing. Ilgaz answers, do you remember what you once told me? “Even if you had blood on your hands and everyone named you as the culprit, I wouldn’t believe it.” You are my son, Metin replies, I’ve trusted you since you were born. How long has Ceylin been in your life? A few days.

This sort of conviction doesn’t happen with just anyone, Ilgaz says, time spent together doesn’t matter. Isn’t the quality of time worth more? You spend your life with someone and then you realize who they really are. Metin answers, you said it yourself, you can’t predict who is good or evil.

Ilgaz supposes, let’s say she did it. What would that change? Will I stop loving her? Can I erase that? Never. Metin flashes back to when Cinar came home bloodied and confessed about Zafer. Metin advises, regardless of the situation, your heart will silence your mind.

Ilgaz says, when a mistake is made, your way of forgiveness doesn’t work. You distance yourself. You did it with Cinar. I’m not you, Dad. I supported Cinar and I’m going to support my wife. Metin says that Cinar was not a murderer and asks, what if Ceylin is a murderer? Then I will side with you, Ilgaz replies.

Ilgaz leaves the office. He calls Eren. Eren says they can’t meet at the office, Pars is watching. They meet at a restaurant. Do you remember the crime scene report, Ilgaz asks. Ilgaz pulls papers out of his pocket. It’s the crime scene report, he managed to take a picture of it when he was there. Eren is concerned, you know you can’t go to the scene. If they find out you were there, they’ll destroy you. Ilgaz says, Pars knows and I’m still alive. What about Yekta, Eren asks? Ilgaz doesn’t care about him.

Ilgaz goes over the report details. The Dr. said Ceylin was hit over the head and that the skin was opened transversely. She didn’t fall, she was hit. Yep, Ilgaz also review the medical report at the hospital. He says, there’s no mention of anything that has her hair or blood in the scene report. Eren says they didn’t find anything like that, but he will check the gun. And he has a thought—what if Engin was holding the gun and he hit Ceylin?

Ilgaz thinks Engin could have done that. Ceylin didn’t pass out, she took the gun, fired at Engin and passed out. Eren offers that maybe Ceylin was traumatized, we’ve seen that before. An acceptable theory, Ilgaz replies, but let’s say Ceylin didn’t do it. Forget the prints or test results. If she didn’t do it, then someone else was there. That’s what we need to find out. We will find them and prove Ceylin’s innocence.

You found cigarette butts near the house, Ilgaz notes. It was dry. It rained the morning of the incident, why wasn’t it wet? Eren realizes, somebody came by later. Ilgaz says there were 7 in the same place. Someone was waiting there, Eren says. Ilgaz asks him to check if the DNA from the butts are a match with the system. Eren says this could mean a lot.

secrets #31 part 3

Ilgaz thinks Ceylin wouldn’t know how to use a gun. Can someone like that shoot another in the heart? Eren recalls that two shots were fired. We believe one hit and one missed the target.

The ladies in the cell are called to mealtime. Ceylin stays put on the bunk. A friendly inmate tells her to come. Ceylin’s not hungry. The friendly inmate smiles, that won’t work, I tried that on my first day, too. You don’t have to eat if you don’t want to, but going to the cafeteria is mandatory. Come on. Ceylin gets up.

Eren interviews the couple who found Ceylin. She acted strange, her hands were bloody. She touched her head. Eren asks if Ceylin said anything. No. He asks, did you hear gunshots? No. If you remember anything else, please let us know.

Pars shows up at the station. He asks Eren to gather everyone around, including Metin. Metin isn’t there at the moment. Everyone else gathers. Pars asks what they have so far. Fingerprints, bullets, shells, matching weapon and GSR. We don’t have any eyewitnesses, Eren continues, so I sent our team back to the scene to examine the bus stop, the house and surroundings to see if something was missed. And we’re still testing samples received from Ceylin at the hospital.

Pars replies to speed that up. If we find Engin’s DNA, this will end. Eren is alarmed. You’ll close the case? Yes, Pars answers, Ceylin snapped and pulled the trigger. There’s no other possibility. But I’m not saying we’re done yet. Is there anything else? Eren says they don’t know how Ceylin hit her head and he’s looking into the weapon.

If it wasn’t a gun, then what, Pars asks. We didn’t find anything at the scene, Eren says. He tells Pars about the 7 dry cigarette butts at the house. Someone might have been waiting there. Pars thinks that’s good work. Look into it! He adds, we will go over every detail, but we won’t play a guessing game. Bring me the evidence and I’ll do the rest. He’s addressing the group but looks at Eren, keep your emotions out of this, it complicates everything.

Pars asks for all the copies of all the reports they have on the case so far. He announces, we won’t have a backup file. All reports and statements will have a single copy. Pars shreds the copies. Whatever you find will be delivered to me and I’ll keep it on file. If you love and respect DA Ilgaz, you’ll keep him away from the file and you won’t give him any information. If the AG finds out Ilgaz has info, he’ll be fired and a case will be opened against him. Understand? Get back to work.

Pars pulls Eren aside, bring Yekta Tilmen to the courthouse tomorrow.

Pars runs into Metin and shares the news. He tells him about Ilgaz taking Ceylin to his office and locking the door. The AG was upset. Ilgaz visited the crime scene. You must think I’m complaining to you as his father, but the situation isn’t good. There’s also Yekta. What if he finds out? He’d act against us even if we are not supporting Ceylin. Metin totally understands.

Pars continues, I understand you, too. It’s a sensitive issue. Ceylin is your DIL. But Ilgaz has lost it. He’s disregarding the rules. The AG gave a warning and he mentioned your name. We’re not going to have a backup file. I warned the guys inside to be careful. Metin says he’ll talk to everyone, too. Pars says if Ilgaz finds out about any info, the AG will fire him and open an investigation. I want you to stop Ilgaz. Not as an officer, but as his father. Stop him from ruining his life or ours.

Metin marches right into Eren’s office. He is adamant—Pars is right! We’ll do what he asks! Eren tries to reason. Ilgaz won’t stop. Metin says Eren will make matters worse if he tries to help. The DA’s office is looking into it and so are we. We’ll find something.

secrets #31 part 4

Ilgaz goes to Ceylin’s office building. The janitor (?) is outside. Ilgaz introduces himself, the man remembers him. Ilgaz asks if he has a spare key to get into Ceylin’s office. The man says there’s someone in there, go ahead.

Ilgaz knocks and Gul answers. He tells her he came to pick up clothes to take to the prison. It’s awkward, but Gul asks him in. Aylin and Parla are there. And they are there to get some things for Ceylin, too.

Gul says Ceylin is not allowed any visitors today. She recalls they had to wait a while to see Zafer. But still, they wanted to pack for her. Ilgaz says he can take care of it if they want. As a DA, Gul asks, or as her husband? Aylin steps in. What, Gul replies, I just learned that my daughter is married. Let me ask that much.

Gul continues, we found out at the hearing that Ceylin is married to you. I can’t help but wonder how it happened. Since she’s not here, maybe her husband can answer. Aylin thinks this might not be the right time. Ilgaz replies, you have the right to ask and get an answer, but Ceylin is who matters right now. First, we have to get her out and then we will answer all questions.

Can you really save her, Gul asks. Ilgaz promises to do his best. You have to do more than that, Gul replies, Ceylin is innocent. She’s incapable of killing anyone. Since you took her as your wife, get my daughter out of that place and bring her back to me.

Prison cafeteria. Ceylin sits but doesn’t eat. Chicken and rice is served. [It doesn’t look very appetizing.] Eat, an inmate prompts, we get this once a month if we’re lucky. You’ll be hungry tonight. Ceylin thinks back to Ilgaz bringing her chicken and rice. She can’t eat. What do you do for a living, the inmate asks Ceylin. I’m a lawyer. The woman almost chokes on her food.

You’re a lawyer, the woman exclaims, you’re a godsend! Doctors and lawyers get the red carpet treatment. Eat while I explain. Help me with my case. Ceylin says she’s in no condition to help anyone and she gets up from the table.

Yekta holds the shroud. This is a threat, he declares. Maybe her family talked her into getting revenge. That woman came into my house, cursed my home, and threatened my wife, my child’s mother. Yekta orders the maid to put the shroud into a bag to give to Cuneyt. He tells Cuneyt to hand it over to the police. And we could use Lacin’s testimony.

Seda sighs and rolls her eyes. Do you really think Ceylin did it? That’s impossible. Yekta says the evidence points to her, no need to think. Tell me what you’re thinking and stop sighing. I’m not here to argue, Seda responds, I’m here for Lacin. But I should go, I’ve had enough. She tells Lacin to let her know if she needs anything and walks out.

Yekta follows her. She turns on him—you were behind it all. You planned this! Don’t be stupid, he replies, speak plainly. You stole my book and framed me, she says, it was he perfect plan. Engin would die and I’d go to prison. Two birds with one stone. It didn’t happen though. Engin didn’t die. You still carried out your plan. You sent Engin to the woods. You sent his killer ahead of time. If everything went as planned, it would work.

You’re sick, Yekta tells his SIL, he was my son. Seda says she knows of many parents who killed their own children. I never claimed to be a good father, Yekta fires back, and I never showed Engin affection, but I’m his father and I didn’t kill him. I wonder why I don’t believe you, Seda snarks.

secrets #31 part 5

Lacin intervenes. Yekta turns to her, your darling sister thinks I’m a murderer, that I killed my own son. Seda picks up with the accusations—you didn’t poison him? Yekta denies it. You didn’t help him escape from the hospital? Yekta admits it. Cuneyt is listening, too. Seda is surprised. See, he says, I am more honest than you. I admit what I did. Ask me why. You must have more crazy questions.

So, you didn’t kill him, Seda asks. No. [so now all of a sudden, Seda believes him?] Seda leaves. Yekta calls out, since you’re so smart and quick, represent our family. I was going to do it but you should be the one. Since you claim Ceylin didn’t do it, help us find out who did. Represent us. Seda says she’s going to her nephew’s funeral and then returning home to Izmir. She’s had enough of Istanbul.

Ceylin asks the friendly inmate how long she’s been here. Three days. The inmate asks, why are you here? Ceylin has a flashback to holding the gun and Engin falling. She doesn’t answer. The inmate says she used to work for an international company. I’m here for embezzlement. I wish the money was in my account. I was duped. I’m not telling you this because you’re a lawyer. I have a lawyer… Yekta Tilmen. Ceylin gets up and walks away from her.

Ilgaz delivers Ceylin’s stuff to the prison.

The nosy inmate from the cafeteria parks herself next to Ceylin and tells her story. [Who cares?] A guard announces a visitor for Ceylin. It’s Ilgaz. They rush to each other and embrace. She cries. He tells her not to cry. He can’t stand to see her cry. I know you’re scared, I am too. But we need to be strong. Try to remember as much as you can, so I can get you out. Were you able to sleep, he asks. She shakes her head no. Have you eaten? No. Please don’t do this to us, he pleads. The faster you remember, the easier things will be. They hold each other.

Neva comes to Pars’ office and asks if there are updates on Ceylin’s case. We see him lock “the file” in his drawer. [did Neva notice this?] She says everyone is talking about Ilgaz about how he took Ceylin to his office. Pars says he can’t discuss it, there’s a gag order. He gets ready to go home.

Neva calls him out on his bad attitude towards her. You should be grateful I even talk to you, he replies, you broke my heart, Neva. You’re my sister, you can’t make mistakes. You tainted your reputation, you didn’t consider that it could hurt me. And then you asked me for help. What’s worse, you left the house as if I was responsible. What did I do to you? Sorry, Neva, you’re going to have to put up with my attitude for a long time. You may leave. He points the way.

IlCey hold hands across the table. Ilgaz says he brought clothes. He brought her pen and paper. Write down what you remember immediately. Write everything, even a dream. Doesn’t matter if it’s connected to he incident or not. She nods. Our minds play tricks and it tries to fill in the blanks, he tells her. Close your eyes and think. Reliving it will be sad and exhausting. But you have to do it.

secrets #31 part 6

Ilgaz continues, for example, when we found you there were signs of a struggle. You had dirt all over you. The doctor said it wasn’t the result of a fall, but that you’d been hit with something. Do you remember who hit you? She shakes her head no. You had a bruise (he points to her ribs), did someone kick you? Step on you? Was it Engin? Try to remember. She touches her ribs. It hurts. She doesn’t remember. That means someone kicked you, Ilgaz says. You held the gun but it doesn’t mean you did it. You don’t even know how to shoot. Flashback. She’s at a shooting range with Engin. She knows how to shoot.

Ceylin says, for the first time in my life someone has more faith in me than I do. She withdraws her hands. This should make me happy. But it overwhelms me and causes me great pain. I could disappoint you this time. She gets up. He stops her. Let me go, I should go. She quickly leaves. Ilgaz is stunned.

And we are out.

Juego/scheduling

I gave up keeping up with the show weeks ago but I see that it ended several episodes early…..I was wondering if the writer’s strike could have had something to do with that? I am not sure how that works, does the strike affect Telemundo? It seems like it would. It might also have something to do with why they are showing Betty in NY reruns instead of new programming.

Secrets

Thank you, dondi356. Geat recap / investigation report.

It appears that the main goal of the investigation is to keep Ilgaz from learning any facts and not finding what really happened. Limiting access to information impedes the investigation itself, not just Ilgaz. And Pars is ready to close the case - it is all crystal clear to him.
Then there is the AG on his high horse moralizing about the sanctity of the law.

Novelera, MANY MANY thanks for providing this brief but very perceptive and helpful recap of the gran final. You even provided delightful side comments, such as "Guess those shots at the amusement park that killed Mariana were lucky ones. He now looks like the worst TN shooter ever." You're absolutely right (I was tempted to say "on target"). How could he kill Mariana at a considerable distance and yet miss FJ close up time after time?

There was one statement you made that surprpised me. You said that when Camila escapes and runs to César, "they immediately hide." That wasn't my impression. I was astonished that they first paused to take a rather long hug/kiss. I was almost yelling through the TV, "run, you idiots!"

I enjoyed your account of the gun going off as Adriana and Chuy were fighting: " Chuy pushes into her and we get the usual: a shot rings out, horrified face on Adriana, and then a commercial break." The horrified expression on Adriana's face really made me think it was possible that she was the one who got shot. Fortunately I was watching my DVR's recording, so I didn't have to wait through the umpteen commercials.

Thanks for saying that Adriana was taking a shower at César's. I didn't recognize it, and so when the doorbell rang, I was somewhat apprehensive.

I was puzzled by the scene near the end where Renata is finally alone. In the background, they played "Va pensiero," a very moving melody from Verdi's opera "Nabucco." I kept wondering (and still wonder) why they chose that music.

I was impressed at how well the writers wove the details of Adriana's wishes as she blew out the candle at her 30th birthday celebration with the events at the end of the novela, where all her wishes do indeed come true.

I've really enjoyed this novela, though not Telemundo's crazy schedulling of it. The writers and actors really deserved much better treatment. And I'm most grateful to the recappers, especially to deb and novelera, who came through week after week. And special thanks, novelera, for your doing double duty this crucial week. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

secrets

Thanks so much, dondi, for the terrific recap that was so full of details!

Sometimes these people make me crazy! Metin had flashbacks to when he made the decision to save Cinar and did way worse things than Ilgaz, but he still goes to upstanding chief of police stance when Ilgaz could use some help.

I think we saw Ilgaz's teeth at least once in a smile. Most of the dizi, one wonders if he has bad teeth considering how seldom he smiles!

Well, the writers, using Seda as a spokesperson, made a good case for Yekta having arranged for Engin's killing. He definitely got him out of prison so he would not spill the beans about Yekta's lack of a law degree and/or passing the bar (is there a bar in Turkey?). She convinced me!

Well Seda loathes Yekta. I assume she was privy to all of Engin's evidence, having given a lot of it to him. Why doesn't she out Yekta for being a fake lawyer?

I'm still not on board with Gul. IIRC that means rose. I can't remember a less rose-like character. It was so fitting for the child in Hercai.

I got the impression that the main motivation for the AG is making sure his behind is covered and that's why he doesn't want Ilgaz to make a false move.

I loved Ilgaz's advice to Ceylin: write down things (to trigger her memory.

I am a bit confused about the dry cigarette butts and the timing. It rained the morning of the day Engin was killed, but the butts are dry? How does this put another killer in place?

Juego

Juanita, I , too, thought the flashback to that fateful 30th birthday party that began this wild ride was a clever touch .

juego

Hope to be able to respond to your comments and maybe say some more about the ending, but I'm under the gun to be ready for my Advanced Spanish class tonight. It's my turn to give a presentation in Spanish. I've chosen Latino USA, a program on NPR that I really enjoy.

Secrets

Thank you, Lucio and novelera.

Can’t blame Ilgaz. It’s hard to stand by. But I share the worry that Yekta will find out about his “interference” in the investigation. Not only could it affect Ceylin’s case, but it could affect the careers of Ilgaz, Pars, Metin, Eren and the AG. Although, it wouldn’t be bad if they got rid of that awful AG.

Lucio, I don’t think Pars is so anxious to close the case. He wanted Eren to follow the lead on the cigarette butts. But the evidence against Ceylin is piling up. He can’t ignore it. If nothing is found to clear Ceylin, he would have no choice but to take her to trial.

novelera, you could be right that Merdan is too obvious a choice in Engin’s killing. It could be Yekta. And we never found out why Cuneyt needed to speak to Neva. Could those two be involved in this?

ITA, on Gul. She is a rose with a lot of thorns. Very irritating.

About the dry cigarette butts, I found the timeline confusing, too. The Turkish ep didn’t make it any clearer. I had hoped someone on the patio could clarify. I’m just going to accept that it means someone was waiting for Engin at the house.

Seda is sitting on a lot of dirt, including Yekta’s lack of a law degree. I think she’s too scared to use any of it after Merdan threatened her. And remember Merdan has all that information now. I wonder when he’s going to use it to his advantage.

I haven’t been able to watch Wednesday night’s show yet. I’ll try to get a recap up by this evening.

"JUEGO" GRAN FINAL:

Novelera: Basically GumChew got away with all of his corruption & he's still with the police department ? WTH ? How did Linda fare out in the Gran Final ?

Deb: I wasn't shocked that Cesar & Camila got their happily ever after plus Camila's preggers to boot HORRAY! Noelia is going to have a sibling: now what could possibly go wrong ?

Darcy: Adriana & FJ together: Fast Forward. I cannot believe that Adriana got away with EVERYTHING she pulled OMG.

Memo to Telemundo: Please get rid of the Turkish nonsense ASAP.

Juego

Thanks so much, novelera, for posting your recap of the Gran Final.

I liked it. I just think they could have showed the rest of the episodes. So, Telemundo, for its own odd reasons, named the Gran Final both as "76" and as "82"? Huh?

Anyway. I wanted to say a big thank you to all the recappers: novelera, deb, Juanita and VVS. I hope we recap another telenovela together soon!

"JUEGO" GRAN FINAL:

Weirdo: Did GumChew get exposed for his corruption & kicked out of law enforcement ? I didn't see him in the Gran Final on Wednesday night.
