Ho hum, Ho hum.....what DID happen today??? Luci continues her going to Mexico tour, but she hasn't actually left yet. Luci and David have the we can't be together conversation for the 4097th time....sigh. Gut and Lilian fight about him helping Marta AGAIN!!! The big ol' slap was new, but only mildly exciting.

One thing that has been brought up several times on the OG patio when Lilian talks about pulling her money and support - what money? what support? She doesn't seem to have much as she's living off of David. And she doesn't seem like the social butterfly, I'm sure Gut would be in just as good a position if not better, if he helped Luci and got on David's good side. I really don't understand why Gut puts up with Lil it's one of 100s of things that don't make sense about this vineyard.

Oh, but now the grapes are in danger.....the freeze is coming. Too bad it's not coming now IRL, with the wild fires currently in Northern California. I don't know if they are by Sonoma but the area in general. It's really sad how large fires burn in California every year, you'd think they could find a way to prevent it.

"VINO":
Darcy: Busted out laughing at your "Luci continues her going to Mexico tour" reference.

I pressed the mute button whenever the female Pete Wilson (AKA Lillian) was on. I cannot stand that annoying voice.

Don't get me started on Bratty Fernanda & Crazy Luci.

Vino. Dang! Our electricity went out for a few minutes just as I was finishing my comments! Oh well. Anyway, great observation on both Luci and Gutierrez, Darcy! At least with David now home, Luci and her brother Leon can now fly to Mexico instead of taking at least a couple of buses. Yep, how handy that a freeze should arrive just in time to keep Miguel from being able to accompany Luci to Mexico. Beanie hat! Several years ago there was a big wildfire in the grape-growing part of Napa County. IIRC it almost reached the Northern part of the City of Napa, several blocks from where I grew up. I don't know if Sonoma had something similar (Oh well, I could google it I suppose. :)) Hard to believe how naive everyone is about Juan's actually processing Luci's work visa. And given how many episodes we have left, I think it will take forever to catch him. And airline tickets or not, Will Luci go to Mexico?

The big freeze is coming to the vineyard and EVERYBODY spends most of the episode walking around in short-sleeves and sleeveless shirts!!! LOL Are they not even trying??? I mean I have a couple of times experienced a temp change where you could have been in a tank top earlier in the day and all of the sudden it's freezing....but it's kind of hard to sell the idea that the grapes are in danger of freezing when your cast is dressed for summer.

And then, we have this frantic emergency were everyone isn't sure what to do, but most of these people have been on the vineyard their whole lifes!!! Surely, it's not their first frost!!! They should have known exactly what to do without needing to have a meeting about it!!! Even Fernanda should have known exactly how to help and been encouraged to do so since the crop/livelihood was in danger!!! I need a tighter beanie....

Since all I am doing today is pointing out what's wrong with this picture apparently, I'll ask one more question...why do they need the never ending sandwiches all night long?? I mean they aren't working through lunch or dinner, they are working through hours when one doesn't typically eat...I can understand the coffee, that's obvious, but the all night food buffet??

It was nice to see Sonia and Marta almost bond.

Vino. Hilarious observation about the sleeveless and short-sleeve shirts, Darcy! A few light-weight hoodies and jackets (unfastened), but not even many of those. I suppose the sandwiches helped to give some screen time to characters not involved in the outdoor emergency, like Marta and Sonia. I too enjoy seeing the more positive portrayal of Sonia. Also: Graciela is so evil and manipulative--and gloats about being manipulative. Hilarious! That was a sweet scene between Leon and Sonia, when she loaned him the new romance novel. And we already knew that Lilian was a racist snob.

Should I point out that right after they survived the apparently only 12 hour long freeze, most of the characters were out around town wear short-sleeves and tank tops?? No? Okay I won't then.

I really didn't like Cesar's reaction to the kiss in this episode. He's been one of only a precious few reasonable characters in this drama and his throwing a fit was way over the top and uncalled for. He reacted as if David was carrying on an affair with his long-term girlfriend behind his back instead of like David had shared one kiss with a woman who he'd gone out with half a dozen times, dates that as far as we've seen never went even as far as a goodnight kiss. The only reason I can sort of give him a little leeway is that it was an immediate reaction and he clearly realized that Grace liked David the whole time and he must have felt like a fool!!! But he reacted and spoke as if David was trying to deceive him when it was David who was forthcoming and told him about the kiss in the first time. In the same vein, as entertaining and satisfying as it was to hear Cesar tell Grace off, he really didn't have any right to do that either. They went out causally a few times, they weren't in a relationship, Gracie doesn't owe him an explanation.

I was also disappointed to see Erika openly flirting with Miguel - although his reactions and facial expressions were entertaining! I liked the idea of Erika for Miguel once he's inevitably disillusioned by Luci, but I liked the idea of her as a good girl. I good honest straight-forward person, not the hefer that will try to come on to another girls' boyfriend when she's out of town....it cheapens her to me. But Miguel def did look attracted and confused.

Still don't care about Marta, Lil and Sr. Gut....yawn.

Vino. It seemed to me that David was doing Cesar a favor by "confessing" about Graciela's kiss. Now he will not be having a relationship (or hoping to have one) with that evil manipulative creep. Of course, every thing you say about the inappropriate interaction between David and Cesar is exactly right, Darcy. As usual, this episode's script could have used a good edit. Brian seems to have a few redeeming qualities, as when he and his men helped out with the freezing vineyards. Of course, it would help with his campaign for sheriff, but it was still the right thing to do. And the actor's English seems to be getting better. I think that somehow Juan will get out of being held accountable for ruining the barrels of wine. It seems too early in the program for him to be caught--unless he runs off somewhere and wreaks his evil remotely.
