ITA, it seemed like a big leap to make the connection to the Oyak family. I remember Ilgaz said to work with Missing Persons so I guess it was a big case for them two years ago. Good question about the older bones in the well.

You may be with Pars on this, and his theories are possible. But Ilgaz is the infallible hero, would Sema dare to make him wrong?

Ceylin is way too confident. I don't trust Tolga. I'm guessing behind those wide, innocent eyes, he's hiding an agenda of his own. It irks me that Ceylin has no qualms about worrying the hell out of Ilgaz with her fake fainting.

I'm getting a kick out of seeing Yekta foiled again and again.

When I first started watching, I thought Pars was a villain. But he's a sweetheart, and now so vulnerable with Neva's death. I wish Derya would cast her lawyerly wisdom aside for just a moment and give this poor devastated man a hug.

It seems something is up with Tolga. And I think we all enjoy down and out Yekta. But enjoy it while we can. I'm sure he'll make a comeback.

Ceylin and Tolga discuss the case. They almost get caught together by Ilgaz.

Ceylin decides to conduct a parallel investigation. If they find anything important, they will tell Ilgaz. Tolga will present the evidence as the case lawyer.

Smarmy Cetin visits Aylin at the law office. They have coffee. Before he leaves, he gives her a kiss on the cheek and goes into flattery overdrive. He pulls something from his jacket pocket and there’s a small blood stain on his shirt. Aylin is alarmed. He assures her he’s okay, it’s from work. [what kind of work, we don’t really know] He mentions marriage and gives her beautiful earrings. This guy is disgusting.

Osman comes to Gul with his suspicions that Aylin is seeing someone. Their divorce is not final yet and he doesn’t like this. Gul can’t believe it at first but then she realizes it’s potential trouble. Osman talks her into getting details from Aylin.

Ridvan tells Pars some of Neva’s personal belongings were found. Pars immediately wants to go get them. Ridvan reminds him he has a meeting with a judge, someone who Pars has canceled on a few times already. Pars doesn’t care but the judge enters his office. Judge Adnan is sympathetic to Pars’ situation but warns him about fulfilling his responsibilities.

Ilgaz goes to the salon, where Eren is speaking with Ayten. Ayten says that Neva was very upset that day. She had her hair dyed and nail polish removed. Eren tells Ilgaz that Neva went there in her car. There were cameras but they couldn’t capture everything because of the angle. They conclude this was the last place Neva was seen. Eren says all area footage will be reviewed.

Back at the station, IT guy is reviewing the footage. Is that Serdar on the screen? Cinar comes into the room with tea and a sandwich for him. Cinar notices the video and pulls out his phone to record while the IT guy is distracted.

Ceylin and Tolga speak to a woman who knew the Oyak family. They ask her about the missing twin. She is sure there was no twin. She was there when the mother gave birth. There was only one baby. Ceylin asks about other relatives.

The woman mentions the uncle. He was a friend of her husband. He left the neighborhood about a month ago. She tells them something she didn’t tell the police. The uncle was a drug addict. The woman tells them where he lived.

Lacin is out shopping with a friend when she gets a call from a hospital. She is still listed as Yekta’s emergency contact. He’s been hospitalized.

Pars goes to the garage where Neva’s car is stored. He remembers choosing the car with her. A cop hands him a pen with Neva’s name on it.

Ilgaz asks Eren about the Oyak family uncle and says find him.

Meanwhile, Ceylin and Tolga look for the uncle. Ceylin is thinking of finding a local drug dealer to track him down. She tells Tolga to check hospitals.

Lacin goes to the hospital to see Yekta. He’s been beaten. He tells her he was attacked by a group.

Eren and Ilgaz go to the crime lab. The ME says they have a clue about the clothes. They found a tag that wasn’t cut out. An old brand, but the clothes can still be bought second hand online and at flea markets. All the clothes were the same brand. Ilgaz wonders why the killer would put everyone in the old clothes. The ME mentions that there were remnants of clothing on the bones of the Oyak family. Maybe there is a connection.

Ceylin goes to see Merdan. She asks him to find the drug dealer who might lead them to the whereabouts of the uncle. Merdan agrees and he will keep this from Ilgaz.

 

secrets #66 part 2

A woman walks dogs in the woods. She comes across an abandoned dog. She goes to help, and in the next view, she’s on the ground. We don’t see how it happened or who did it.

Cinar meets the girls at a restaurant. Burak shows up. Cinar shows them the video with Serdar. He says the cops were checking the cameras for something else. Burak calls Serdar a coward who hides in plain sight. Tugce asks how he can be sure. Burak says he has a sociology degree, graduated with honors. Do you want to see the diploma? [jerk]

Stupid Parla looks smitten and says she wants to study psychology. Tugce says never mind that. She tells Cinar to tell a cop. Stupid Cinar says he has his own plan. He wants to find Serdar first and he’s annoyed that the girls aren’t supporting him. Merve says let’s check his house.

Ceylin calls Eren and tells him to send her husband home before he starts living at the station. She asks for any updates he can share. He can’t. She tells him she has something to share but now she won’t. He’s interested. She shares her theory. The killer is trying to recreate a family. Eren laughs and says this is the same theory as Ilgaz. Eren becomes suspicious of Ceylin. She has to cut the call short because Ilgaz has come home.

Pars and Derya are out to dinner. Haluk is at a table where he can watch them. He tells a waiter that his grandson won’t be joining him tonight. [I wonder if we know this grandson and if he is connected to the well case.]

Derya talks about a case, but Pars is staring off into space. She asks him if he’s okay. He snaps out of it and says he’s fine. Pars has trouble with the utensils. His hand shakes. Derya notices and is concerned. He excuses himself to go to the restroom. Haluk watches.

Pars washes his shaky hands and his face. He ducks into a stall when someone enters. When the person leaves, Pars comes out. He finds a picture stuck to the mirror. It’s an overhead shot of the crime scene at the well. There’s writing on the back: we can help you find your sister’s killer. Meet me tomorrow morning at Menemenci Hüso.

Pars searches with no luck to find the person who left the photo. We see suspicious Haluk eating at his table. Pars returns to Derya. She’s worried, he says he’s fine. He looks around. They continue their meal. Did he lock eyes with Haluk?

Ilcey talk about Pars. Ilgaz is very frustrated with his stubbornness and opposition. He acts like everyone is out to get him. He’s built a wall. Ceylin understands. She says, all he wants to do is find the killer and bury his sister. It’s the only way for him to find peace.

Ilgaz says they all want the same thing, to find the killer. He tells Ceylin how Pars rejected his theory. Ceylin thinks Ilgaz should continue defending his theory as his hunches always turn out to be right. [and his theory is her theory, too]

Yekta continues to be a whiney patient. Plays it up big for Lacin’s benefit. Good hearted Lacin goes against her better judgment and says she will stay with Yekta until he falls asleep.

Gul pumps Aylin for information at dinner. She asks about her job at Ceylin’s office. Aylin loves it. Gul asks if she’s met anyone new at work. The tone of the convo turns and Aylin suddenly gets up to clear the table and wants to watch a dizi. Gul is suspicious.

Ilgaz watches soccer on TV. [Galatasaray v Kasımpaşa] Ceylin comes to snuggle. Ilgaz says the match is tied, just like him and Pars. Ceylin says it’s 2 to 1, because she is on his side.

Ceylin is happy that her last post is getting lots of likes. Ilgaz asks about it and she gives him the quote and why she wrote it. He’s not happy. This guy had your name, Ilgaz says, he knows who you are. If he sees that, he knows it was meant for him. She thinks he’s overreacting. He asks her to erase it. He grabs the phone. Ha, ha, he can’t figure out how to delete it.

 

secrets #66 part 3

A taxista is on the phone to his wife (?). She complains he’s not home from his shift yet. He’s waiting to take someone to the airport. A big fare. He promises her the money. The customer comes and the taxista gets out. He’s grabbed from behind, a rag is placed over his mouth and nose. He passes out.

Merdan’s got the info for Ceylin. The man has been staying with a girlfriend. He gives her the address. Metin walks by. He has the day off from work. Ayten enters the yard and introduces herself to Ceylin as the new tenant.

Derya heads for Pars’ office but Ridvan passes by and says the AG isn’t in yet. Derya is puzzled. She almost blows their cover and says they arrived together… uh arrived at the same time and met at the courthouse. Ridvan has no idea where Pars is. Derya is concerned.

Pars is at the appointed meeting place. A man comes to his table. He has a drone. Looking for this, he says… just as we found this, we can find the killer. Of course, it comes with a request. DA Derya drew up an indictment. Don’t accept it from her. She’s blaming us for something we didn’t do. She’s making a mistake.

The man takes a chip out of the drone. He says, we didn’t film the killer, but we followed him. It’s your decision. Once we get the answer on the indictment, we will reel in the fish and bring him to you. The man takes the drone and exits, leaving the chip. What is Pars going to do?

Ceylin sees Ayten and comments that she is like a second spring for Metin. Ilgaz sees her and recognizes her from the salon. He goes over to her and asks her to come to the station to give a statement. Ceylin needs a ride, too, and Ilgaz warns her not to ask questions. Merdan watches all this from the yard.

A real estate agent is speaking to a client from an empty house. He walks through the rooms and takes pictures. He enters a room and then we see him fall to the floor, unconscious.

Rafet meets up with Pars in the courthouse hallway. He has an update. The station is on alert. We went to the hairdresser, thanks to you, after your press conference. So? Rafet says they didn’t get any results from it. Pars asks about the Oyak uncle. They haven’t found him yet. Pars asks about Neva’s car.

Rafet says they saw the car near the field, but the person driving was wearing a mask and glasses. He can say it was a masculine body type. And he’s sure the car wasn’t driven straight there. They waited for time to pass and drove it to the field. Rafet wants to come in to have tea with Pars, but Pars says the tea isn’t ready yet, and he closes his door in Rafet’s face.

Seems Rafet was fishing for info from Pars. He gets a call from an unknown number. He asks, how many? Four? [the boy? The woman with the dogs? The taxista? The RE agent?] Alright, do it.

Pars takes out his laptop and loads the chip. It has video of the bodies being taken from the well.

Ayten is in a hurry, she doesn’t want to be late for work. She tells Ilgaz he can ask his questions in the car. Besides she already told the police everything when they came to the salon. She starts recounting the events and Ilgaz shuts her down. We’ll talk at the station. Ceylin is disappointed. She texts Tolga: come to the station, you have something to give Ilgaz.

Gul questions Aylin again, noting her daughter is all dressed up. Aylin says she’s going out with friends later. Who are these friends, Gul asks, last night you said you didn’t have any friends. Aylin gets angry at all these questions and leaves the house.

 

secrets #66 part 4

Gul follows her out and gets straight to the point—are you seeing someone? You’ve changed your hair, makeup and wardrobe. Your attitude has changed. Even the neighbors are asking. Aylin bristles. Gul asks, do you think I want something bad for you? If you’re happy, I’m happy. If you’re seeing someone, you can tell me.

Aylin turns the tables—you leave the house after me. You’re getting ready to leave again. Tell me, where is it you take the food you supposedly claim is burned? Then I will tell you anything you want. Do we have a deal?

Burak and Cinar take a break outside the station. Ilcey and Ayten arrive. Cinar goes back inside. Ilgaz accompanies Ayten into the station. Ceylin sneaks off to meet with Tolga, whose car is parked across the street. Burak watches.

Ceylin gets in Tolga’s car. There’s hair all around. She asks do you own a cat? He has a dog. [the abandoned dog in the woods?] She gives him instructions. Tell Ilgaz you analyzed the info in the file. Ask if you can investigate why the family whose bones were found in the well were murdered, and then offer to help with the investigation. Tell him you checked for living relatives and give him the uncle’s address. She tells him to clean his car and get out.

I think Lacin is paying Yekta’s hospital bills. A nurse tells her he needs more tests and hands her a folder. The doctor wants to speak with her before she leaves.

Ayten gives her statement. She found the apartment through Neva. What could I have to do with her death?

Tolga motions for Eren to come out of his office. He comes out, annoyed. Tolga tells him he has an important address. Ilgaz hears and comes out. Tolga says it’s the only living member of the Oyak family—the uncle. He found it through a bit of additional investigation. Ilgaz says, send a team at once. Let Ayten go.

Pars is despondent when Derya comes to his office. She tells him they checked for any connection between Neva and the people found at the scene. There is no connection. Schools they attended, hospitals they went to, bank accounts, we checked. We even checked for children out of wedlock. Nothing. They don’t owe any money and they weren’t in any trouble.

Pars says, it’s no good. What is no good, Derya asks. The indictment against the bus company, he replies. What’s wrong with it, she asks, the crime and the punishment are obvious. He asks, did you ever consider that the driver was to blame? Please change it. [oh Pars, don’t do this.] Derya insists that the evidence proves the company was at fault.

Derya is troubled. Do you know what you are asking? You want me to support the company’s owners? She notes that Pars is upset. You haven’t slept in days, she tells him, you’re not thinking clearly, with good reason. You just lost somebody. I lost a friend, but we have to do our jobs. Can’t you see these men are to blame? To you, not to me, Pars barks, I’m in charge, so change it! Derya says then he can write the indictment, or have another DA do it. She’s not changing it. She walks out.

I’m not sure where Ceylin is. She gets out of her car and spills her files on the ground. As she picks them up, we get a partial look at a man standing down the street from her. He’s watching her. I think she notices him but the sun is in her eyes. Ceylin gathers her stuff up and the man is gone. She walks down the street and turns around to look. There are two women behind her.

Ceylin turns a corner and turns around again. She sees no one following. She enters her office and calls for Aylin. She’s not there and she calls her. Aylin reminds her of her schedule. Ceylin looks out the window. She’s got the creeps.

Yekta gets dressed and Lacin enters his room. She tells him the doctor wants to run more tests on him. And he wanted to see me before I left. Yekta says it’s not necessary, he’s fine. Lacin is concerned. Why would the doctor order all these tests if you’re fine? Yekta says it’s a scam, they want to milk you for all they can. [I’m sure he’s scamming Lacin] He insists he’s fine. I caused you so many problems, he tells her, all of it needlessly. Let’s go.

The Oyak uncle is at the station. They couldn’t find him because he moved in with his girlfriend. Eren says if they get anything out of this, he’ll invite that blonde lawyer to a full course meal. [the Eng caps say “Doogie Howser” the Turkish says “çocuk avukat”- child lawyer.]

Eren starts, hello Kadir Bey, I regret to inconvenience you so suddenly, but we have some questions. Your brother’s family disappeared two years ago. He nods and asks, was there a break in the case? Did you find them? Unfortunately, no, Eren replies. Then why was I called in, Kadir asks. Ilgaz says they investigated the brother’s family and discovered he had twins.

Kadir confirms that the oldest were twins. Ilgaz asks, what happened to him? Where is he? Kadir says his SIL gave him to her sister. She gave him as soon as he was born because she didn’t have children of her own. They were good people. Ilgaz asks if he is alive. As far as I know, Kadir replies. How can we find him, Eren asks. Kadir says he lives in the US. That’s all he knows.

Ceylin gets in her car. She checks her route on her phone.

Yekta and Lacin leave the hospital. Lacin thinks he should have at least spoken to the doctor. He tells her he spoke to the doctor when she was downstairs. She asks, what is it? I’m sick, okay, he snaps back, I’m dying. The doctor told me I needed to rest.

Lacin is shocked. What are you saying? [a bunch of BS, Lacin.] Yekta notes she’s different. You’ve been my partner and friend [?!] all these years. Even at a time like this, you lent me your friendship and loyalty. Even if I lived another lifetime, I could never repay you. Thank you for everything you did. He walks away. Lacin watches as Yekta boards a dolmuş.

Eren has verified Kadir’s statement. They left 20 years ago and never came back. He sighs, Pars will start in again on refuting the family theory. He will drive us crazy and say we wasted our time.

Ilgaz asks for an update on Mehmetcan. He’s recovering, Eren replies, but he still doesn’t remember anything. Ilgaz says he’ll head to the courthouse.

A cop comes in and says a 12 year old child has disappeared. He left for school and never came back. Ilgaz and Eren go to speak with the parents. They pass Rafet in the hall. Rafet asks Umut what’s going on. He doesn’t know. Find out, Rafet orders, keep an eye on them and tell me everything, understand? Umut mutters something beneath his breath.

Eren and Ilgaz listen as the distraught mother tells the cops that Zamet disappeared after going for a ball. He never came home last night. Zamet is my only child… please find him. He would never run off. He would come home.

Derya comes to the station looking for Ilgaz. She calls him. We have to talk, it’s urgent. It’s about Pars. I want to talk as friends, not DAs. I need you to tell Eren, too. I’ll be at the café.

Ilgaz tells the cops to get every recording from the school. He asks Eren to come with him. They meet Derya. She tells them Pars is up to something. Like what, Eren asks. He asked me to change my indictment, she replies. Ilgaz thinks there must be a good reason.

Derya talks about the dinner she had with Pars the night before. He went to the restroom and when he came back, he was a mess. I know something happened to him, she says, something was off. When we got home… judge me if you want… I looked through his pockets. I know it was wrong, but I suspected something.

What did you find, Eren asks. A picture of the day the bodies from the well turned up, taken from the sky, she replies. A drone? Yes, the one we were looking for and couldn’t find. On the other side, was a note offering to help him find his sister’s killer, with a location to meet.

I found it funny that Derya thinks their reactions are because she’s sleeping with Pars. She continues, this morning when we came to the courthouse, I thought he’d initiate a legal process. I thought it was fine. But he pretended to enter the courthouse.

Ilgaz asks if she’s sure he met with them. She’s not. Her point is this has something to do with the indictment. The owners are obviously guilty, she says, and they are trying to pin it on the driver. Pars wants me to change the indictment. Eren says that’s a serious accusation. Ilgaz wonders if she could be wrong.

Derya is certain that Pars is doing the company a favor. She says, I told him I wouldn’t rewrite, and he couldn’t even look at me. Eren and Ilgaz can’t believe it. Derya keeps insisting. Pars would do anything to find his sisters killer.

Ceylin pulls into a parking garage. Someone walks nearby. She gets out of the car and fixes her jacket and hair. Someone approaches her from behind and puts a cloth over her nose and mouth. She falls to the floor and the person drags her away.

And we are out.

Thanks, dondi. Suspects to he left uf us; suspects to the right of us. Your recap was great for filling in what I didn't understand.

Ceylin doesn't seem to realize that she's jeopardizing her relationship with Ilgaz with all her underhanded tactics. Well, the writers have shown this since way back when, when he was appalled when she stole the toothbrushes from a suspect's house, someone who wasn't guilty after all.

Got a kick out of "flattery overdrive". I'm sure Cetin is conning Aylin, as are we all. But why? Is it to find out what Ceylin knows? Is he part of the bodies in the well thing? Oh, and as for the blood on his short, IIRC he said he was a doctor and last night mentioned working in the emergency room. But I'm sure we'll find out that's not it.

Ever since Osman helped bring down Yekta, I'm on his side. So I don't mind his trying to get to the bottom of Cetin's scheming.

Yep, Burak is a jerk, waving his degree around. Wonder if he really has one? Tugce isn't buying whatever he's selling. She keeps giving him the sideeye.

Amen about Stupid Cinar and stupid Parla. If they ended up together, it would be a miracle of any intelligent children were a result.

I did like what Aylin said to her mother. Having a job is good for her. If Ceylin would stop blowing off appointments to scheme with Tolga, they'd be a good team.

Wow! Four! I hadn't added that up. So the killer is trying to replace the family members that were found in the well? I did think about the little boy who went into the woods perhaps being the same age as Mehmetcan.

Pars needs to stop what he's doing or we'll see Ilgaz replace him as AG. The whole thing with the drone is confusing. OK, the drone saw the bodies being removed. But it's doubtful the killer was there for that skeezy guy to have followed. As I understood what he said, when he finds out the case against the company has been dismissed, he'll give Pars the killer. Yeah, right.

Good for Derya. She loves Pars, but she's not going to compromise her ethics.

Lacin, Lacin, why haven't you learned your lesson about Yekta? Looks like he's trying to move into her nice house for his "last days". Ha!

It is kind of interesting the way the whole team is keeping Rafet on the outside looking in. Viewerville is suspicious, of course. But wouldn't he be in on these meetings Ilgaz and Eren are having as the Chief of Police?

"Stupid Cinar" is right. He should have pointed Serdar to the IT guy as soon as he saw him on the screen. Even if Serdar is not involved in the current case, the police might catch this murder suspect. And Parla should have told Aylin or Ceylin that Cinar noticed Serdar in a security camera video. That's her grandfather's killer.

[I’m sure he’s scamming Lacin] - I am too. Only how did he manage to buy the medical staff without money? Maybe some old favor or blackmail? Or does Lacin go only by Yekta's story?

Gracias, Dondi. I knew Pars was messing up but not how much. Thank goodness for his sake that Derya stood up to him.

Oh well, Ceylin got nabbed. Will this teach her a lesson about going off on her own and not informing Ilgaz or someone else useful for backup? Nope.

So Cinar now thinks he's a Sherlock Holmes? I was wondering why he was so happy to take a job at the station as a tea server(?).

Heaven forbid that Cinar and Parla ever have children.

Eren vehemently rejects the possibility that Pars could be corrupt. Derya puts up a good argument for her case. It’s good enough to make Ilgaz get up from the table. He’s going to speak to Pars.

Ilgaz catches Pars as he’s about to leave his office. He tells the AG that they contacted the only relative of the missing family, the uncle. There is a twin, but he lives in the US. Pars says that refutes the family theory. We’re still in the same place, he says. Ilgaz says a 12 year old boy was kidnapped. It could be a coincidence, or it could be the killer.

Pars thinks there’s not enough to show the killer is striking again and he turns to go. Ilgaz stops him. Do you have anything to tell me? No. Ilgaz says, if you need anything, tell me. No, thanks. Ilgaz tries again, if there’s any way I can help, something you want to say, whatever. We are friends. Pars says he feels like this is an interrogation. He’s got nothing to tell Ilgaz and he leaves.

Merdan brings Defne home from school. He wants her to meet someone. Ayten is at the table with the boy that Merdan visited. [I had forgotten about him.] Merdan says this boy is Ayten’s son. You will be like siblings. You can play together. The boy pays no attention to Defne, and she makes a half-hearted attempt to interact with him. [I don’t remember if Ayten was the woman at the house who cared for the boy. Is this why Merdan seemed so interested in Ayten?]

Ilgaz comes home and asks to speak with Metin. Metin tells him Ayten works in a salon, she has a special needs child. Ilgaz poses a hypothetical situation. Say you have a friend, someone you love, someone you trust, you value, and he’s going to do something bad. What do you do? You could be wrong, and there are lines that can’t be crossed because he’s built a wall.

Metin replies, I hope you’re not talking about Eren. No, Ilgaz says, and it’s not important who it is. It’s someone who is about to get into trouble. A problem that could cost him his life. What would you do? Do you ignore it or stop it knowing you could destroy your friendship?

Metin uses the example of what he did with Cinar. He tells Ilgaz he would never do that again. He would take Cinar to the station. Some things are irreversible, he says, you fall, you sink deeper and deeper. The shame I carry is heavier than my body. Look at Cinar, look at me. You’re wiser than me. But if you save someone’s honor, I’m sure that you will recover the friendship. Ilgaz reaches out and thanks his father.

Eren is following Pars. He calls Ilgaz to say Pars is taking his own car. Ilgaz thinks Pars is going to the restaurant and says to deploy the team. Let’s do what we planned.
Meanwhile, Ceylin is bound, blindfolded and gagged in the trunk of a moving car. She arrives at a destination. We get a partial look at a man, when he opens the trunk. Ceylin struggles.

Pars arrives at the restaurant. Eren has followed him. Ilgaz arrives in a taxi and gets into Eren’s car. They wait and observe. The bus company owners arrive. Pars says he will give them what they want after they turn over the killer.

Ilgaz tells Eren let’s go and Eren notifies the team. Sirens sound, police cars arrive on the scene. Hands up, nobody move. Eren walks in and orders that the owners be taken to the station. The owners complain, is this a crime?

Ceylin is in a room with the 4 others who were kidnapped. The taxista unties her. She removes the rest. He tells her to change her clothes as they all have. Ceylin sees “Neva” scratched into a wall. We see someone watching them on a laptop.

The owners continues to resist. All they were doing was having a meal. Pars sits silently in shame. The owner makes an appeal to Pars. He says nothing. Ilgaz speaks up. We are taking you on the orders of the AG. You offered a bribe and this is a trap. The owners are taken away.

Ilgaz speaks softly to Pars, I know you’re upset with me for stopping you, but tomorrow you will thank me. Don’t let your pain cloud your thoughts. We will take care of this. Pars looks straight ahead and says nothing. His hand trembles. Ilgaz speaks up, okay, AG, let’s go to the station.

Ilgaz and Eren wait outside for Pars. Ilgaz asks him if he’s coming with them or going in his own car. Pars raises his hand. Ilgaz and Eren watch Pars from their car. Eren is still trying to understand what happened. Ilgaz notes that Pars’ shame is bigger than his anger and one day he will understand us. Eren says this was a great plan, an example of friendship, a lesson for all of us. Ilgaz wishes it never happened.

Eren says he’s surprised at Pars and at Ilgaz. He thinks Ilgaz handled this well. Ilgaz says people change, you learn things. You admit people make mistakes, you accept it. I learned in a most difficult way. I owe this all to Ceylin. First, she opened the doors to my heart, then she broke the walls one by one. You can say she’s crazy, Eren says, say what you want, but she has a pure heart.

Ceylin looks around. There’s five of them. She thinks back to her theory. The killer is making a family. The RE agent implores Ceylin to change her clothes. You’re going to get us killed. The taxista joins in. The young woman tells her to get dressed. The boy wants his mother. Ceylin tries to put the pieces together. We are the new family, she says.

The bus owners are brought in. The interrogation will take all night. Ilgaz wants to know about the drone and any connection to the killer. Rafet complains to Ilgaz about being left out of the loop on this operation. Pars wanders into the station. Ilgaz tells Rafet, this was between the AG and me. Those who needed to know, knew about it. Ilgaz turns to Pars and says he must give a statement as well. Pars goes with Ilgaz. Rafet is not happy.

Derya is waiting in the office when Ilgaz and Pars come in. Pars doesn’t look at her. Ilgaz asks to be alone with Pars.

Ceylin heads to a corner to change her clothes. She takes her time. The men are very impatient with her. She changes her clothes and stuffs the necklace Ilgaz gave her into a pocket of the jeans she wore. The taxista gathers her clothes and asks for her watch, too. He puts Ceylin’s clothes through a slot in the door.

The boy says he’s thirsty. There’s no water. The agent says they will die of thirst. Everyone is on edge. They snap at each other. Ceylin tries to stay calm and be a voice of reason. She asks the taxista for his name. He gets angry and accuses her and the rest of them of colluding with the kidnapper. The agent won’t give his name either.

Ceylin gives her name and says she’s a lawyer. The more we know the better it is for us. The taxista questions why, do you know something? She asks if any of them saw the person who took them. Nobody saw anyone. She asks where they got the clothes. The taxista points to the opening in the door. The clothes came with a note. The agent shows it to Ceylin: put on the shirts and pants. Ceylin says they have to find an exit. The lights go off.

Pars asks Ilgaz if Derya told him. Ilgaz says it doesn’t matter. What are we going to do, Pars asks, invent things? I’m going to look into your eyes and lie? I’m going to say I ordered the operation? I was about to sell my honor. Erase everything I believed in with the stroke of a pen. That’s all I am. Don’t look at me like this, kardeş, Pars sniffles, I’m sinking more.

 

secrets #67 part 3

Pars decides he wants to take the punishment he deserves. It’s my mistake, it’s my fault. I have to pay for it. I won’t cheat justice by covering this up. Ilgaz starts to speak and Pars jumps from his seat and interrupts, what are you saying? You caught me! You knew my intentions!

Yes, I knew, Ilgaz stands and replies, it was only an intention! It didn’t become a crime. You can think of killing someone, hurting someone, but it’s not a crime until you do it. We both know this! We can’t blame anyone for their thoughts. Did you change the indictment? Did you get information about the killer from them? No.

Pars says he took the memory card. Ilgaz asks if he hid evidence. No, it was just video of the bodies. Ilgaz says, you did it so you could meet these people, so they would believe you. Pars shouts, you’re trying to save me! Ilgaz shouts back, I am a public prosecutor, I only do what the law says! Is there a crime that can be proved? No! Only an intention. Are we going to spoil and honest life because of one bad intention? You won’t make the same mistake.

There’s a lot of anxiety among the captives. Ceylin reaches for a window and bangs on it and shouts for help. We see that they are being held captive in the basement of the abandoned house with the well. We hear a news report, it’s been 10 days since the bodies were found in the well and the killer still has not been caught.

Derya and Ilgaz watch Pars leave the station. Ilgaz says Pars will come around. He knows we are right. He will get better. Eren catches up with Pars outside the station. He asks, will you take the file or should I send it to the courthouse? Pars says to give it to Ilgaz.

Eren brings it to Ilgaz and says, [Turkish] Pars tortures himself, torments himself and has buried himself! Ilgaz says, if a person has a conscience, then he is always tormented by his mistakes. But he didn’t commit a crime, Derya says, you stopped him. Ilgaz replies, it’s that we know his intentions and that’s what torments him. He will accept it in time. Eren tells Derya her participation was very important. If you didn’t tell us… She responds, I came to the right people and Pars has great friends.

Ilgaz asks Eren what he got out of the bus owners. Not much, he replies, they’ve been through this before and their lawyer turned out to be a version of Yekta. He didn’t let me say a word. I couldn’t get them to talk. Ilgaz says to leave them in custody.
Ilgaz switches topics and asks about the missing boy. There’s nothing new. Ilgaz wants to concentrate on that now.

Eren drops Ilgaz home. He says he will sleep for 4 hours and then they will talk about Samet. Defne is sitting in the yard. She says, Grandpa’s asleep, Dad and Cinar are out. There’s a fair at school and there’s no one to take me. You never let me go alone. Ilgaz thinks Ceylin would take her. Defne says she’s probably sleeping, we shouldn’t wake her. Ilgaz says he’ll take her. Eren intercedes and says he’ll give Defne a ride and he has chocolate in the car.

Ilgaz enters his apartment and Ceylin isn’t in the bedroom. The bed hasn’t been slept in. He searches the apartment, calling her name. Kitchen is clean. She’s not there and he becomes alarmed. He calls her—unavailable. He grabs his jacket and flies out the door.
Loud noises and blinking light wake up the captives. There’s shouting outside the room.

Ceylin bangs on the door. Let us out! The slot opens and a small bottle of water is thrown into the room. A scramble for the bottle ensues. The taxista gets it and starts to chug the water. Ceylin takes the bottle and says the boy gets it. Tempers flare.

 

secrets #67 part 4

Osman is lurking near the Erguvan house. As soon as Aylin leaves, he rings the bell. He asks Gul if she found out anything. Gul thinks his last name is Sarioglu or something like that. He’s a doctor and he works at a private hospital.

Osman asks if they are lovers. Gul replies, how am I supposed to know? I’m her mother, I can’t ask her something like that. She doesn’t think it’s something serious, they just met. She hopes Osman won’t do anything stupid. Don’t tell Aylin, she’ll kill me.

Ilgaz calls his father at work. He asks him if Ceylin came home last night. She had the car. Metin says he didn’t see her. What’s wrong? Ilgaz just says, I’ll call you. Ilgaz tries calling Ceylin again. Unavailable.

Umut calls Eren. Three more missing persons, a 19 year old girl, a 39 year old male RE agent and a 25 year old male taxi driver. It fits in.

Ilgaz takes a taxi to Ceylin’s office. He bangs on the door and shouts for her to answer. Aylin comes up the stairs. What’s wrong? Ilgaz says that Ceylin left the house before he did. Her phone is off. She must be in a hearing. Aylin says she doesn’t have anything today. I spoke with her yesterday, she had a meeting in the afternoon. I called her last night, but her phone was off. Maybe it needed charging.

Ilgaz is worried. Aylin starts to worry, too. They run from the building. Aylin asks if she should call the court. She can’t go home because her mother will go crazy. Ilgaz calls Eren and asks him to check Ceylin’s location. Ceylin is missing! She went to a meeting yesterday in Maslak around 4.

Eren tells Ilgaz about the other missing persons. They match the other victims. A horrible realization. Ilgaz walks in front of a car. He’s absolutely devastated. He regains some composure and says, I’ll find you Ceylin.

The captives are getting on each other’s nerves again. The agent says he’s been locked up there for 4 days. If he doesn’t kill us, I’ll die of a heart attack. The agent is hot and he takes off his shirt. The girl places it over the boy. The taxista gets angry—the kidnapper said to wear the clothes. The girl says either way, we are going to die. You think he put us here just to look at us?

Ceylin yells at them to stop. What will we gain by fighting like this? We either get out of here together, or we go out together. Can we settle down and talk calmly? The poor little boy is hungry and cold. Ceylin tells him to hang on, we’ll find a way out. We can’t fight like this.

The girl says there is no way out, she’s been looking. We’re all going to die here. Maybe this is an organ stealing Mafia, they are going to take ours. Ceylin says this isn’t the case. The agent asks, then what does he want? Ceylin says they need to stay calm and wait. If we stay together, we can do what others couldn’t.

The taxista asks, there were others? Who are they? What do you know? I’ll beat you up! He attacks Ceylin and chokes her. I’m going to kill you! The others manage to pull him off. The taxista accuses everyone of playing a game with him.

The slot opens and a simit is tossed in. Ceylin grabs it and warns the others to stay back. I won’t eat, I’ll give it to you. The taxista complains it’s not enough. Tell that to the SOB who gave us one simit, Ceylin replies. The taxista bangs on the door for more food. He refuses his small share of simit but when Ceylin goes to give it to the boy, he grabs it. [if someone has to be killed, let it be the taxista.]

Oh Lacin… she goes back to the hospital to speak with Yekta’s doctor. He tells her he can’t share his medical data. Lacin says Yekta has no other relatives. Who can he count on more than me? I understand this is something serious. Next we see Lacin walking down the stairs looking somber. Lacin calls Yekta. He smiles, I see you took the bait again. He laughs and doesn’t answer the phone. She calls Ceylin but gets the message.

Osman calls the Yurt Private Hospital and makes an appointment to see Dr. Cetin Sarioglu. The assistant says he’s not in the hospital today or tomorrow. Osman wants the earliest appointment when he returns.

Aylin asks Ilgaz what she should do. We’re not going to tell mom, right? No need to worry her. Cetin calls Aylin. She tells him she’s worried. Ceylin has disappeared. We are looking for her. Cetin tells her not to worry. He’s sure she will be fine. I’m in the hospital now, he says, I have an operation, but keep me informed.

Eren calls Ilgaz. The last location they had on Ceylin was in Maslak. Ilgaz tells the cab driver to head to Maslak.

Derya comes to Pars’ office. A concerned Ridvan is outside. He asks her if something happened to the AG. He’s not well. Something must have happened… I don’t know. He’s been in his office, and he didn’t even drink his coffee. He kicked me out. He always does that when he’s upset, but this time it was different. Derya says that Pars needs a break. He’s going through a difficult time. Wait here and let me talk to him.

Derya knocks on the door. Pars is writing and says don’t come in. Derya opens the door. Pars says, Ridvan… I told you that…. Pars turns over the document he was working on and apologizes to Derya. She says she’s worried. Don’t worry, Pars replies. He gets up to leave. She stops him. Let’s talk.

Pars says, I want to ask you something. Did you realize? Did you tell him? You gave me no choice, Derya replies, remember what happened here? I tried to talk to you, and you got mad when I told you about the indictment. I know I don’t have the right to interfere in your life. If you only knew, Pars says, if you had known… you should have stopped me from doing it. You shouldn’t have let me make that mistake.

Pars, I couldn’t even get close to you, Derya replies. To…to stop you? You acted like a wall. You were blinded by pain. You didn’t hear, you didn’t see. Besides, if you expect me to protect you, you should protect yourself first. I’m sorry… you cannot receive before you give. You tried to drag me into your darkness.

You didn’t see I was bleeding to death, he says. Couldn’t you see it? You’re as blind as everyone else. When I needed you most, you weren’t there. [he’s so wrong] Sorry if I can’t pretend nothing happened. Please go. Derya says she’s not going anywhere. Contrary to what you think, I’m here for you. And I will continue to be even if you don’t let me. Please leave, he tells her.

Derya asks about the paper he’s holding. He tells her not to mind that. It’s none of your business! She locks the door and takes the key. Nobody goes anywhere, she tells him, we will talk. Pars tells her to open the door. She asks again, what’s on that paper? Nothing that concerns you, he replies, open the door. She guesses, it’s your resignation, right? Ridvan is listening in at the door.

Pars demands she open the door or give him the key. I will never let you lose your head again, she replies, you can’t resign.

The girl checks on the boy. He’s sick, he has a fever. He calls for his mother. Ceylin speaks to the camera. I know you are there. Okay, you’re the boss. We’re doing everything you want, but the child is sick, he’s cold. At least give us a blanket. Some medicine. I know you are listening… Please.

 

secrets #67 part 6

The taxista laughs. You’re talking to the invisible man. Like he cares what you say? Ceylin continues talking to the camera. Just medicine and a blanket.

Ilgaz and Aylin arrive at the building where Ceylin had her last appointment. They stop at the front desk and ask to speak with Sinan Eryit. The woman asks, who? Aylin says he’s the head of the Law Department, something like that. A board member. You called us. He had an appointment with Ceylin Erguvan yesterday. Can you review the list?

She looks and says there’s nothing. There is no one named Sinan Eryit in our company. It must have been a misunderstanding. Are you sure it’s Bendri? Aylin asks her to check again. Ilgaz walks out. Aylin runs after him. She blames herself for not double checking. Ilgaz takes off again. Aylin follows. He goes to the parking garage.

Eren gives orders to his team. Let’s get the last locations for everyone. He picks a few officers to go to the Bendri Company in Maslak. Rafet comes in and asks what’s up. Eren says that Ceylin is missing. Rafet says so what, is that our department? Eren says others are missing too, and it’s related to the well. That’s a homicide job. My crew will explain it to you.

Outside the station, Eren complains about Rafet. He feels like strangling the guy. Umut feels the same way.

Ridvan calls Eren and asks him to come to the courthouse. Eren says he’s busy, is it urgent? Ridvan says yes, the AG wants to resign and Derya is trying to stop him. They locked themselves in the room. Eren says he’ll come.

Ilgaz and Aylin walk through the parking garage. He finds the car. Aylin goes to open the door and Ilgaz yells at her to stop. There may be fingerprints. Ilgaz looks around and under the car. He asks Aylin for a tissue. It’s Ceylin’s phone. The cops show up. Ilgaz tells Umut to search all over. Let me know if you find anything. He hands over Ceylin’s phone.

Cops find the abandoned taxi on the road. The taxista’s phone is under the car. Cops find the RE agent’s phone in the empty house. The girl’s phone is found in the woods.
The girl tries to comfort the sick boy. There are sounds of doors opening and closing. The slot opens and a blanket comes through. There’s something else and Ceylin reaches for it. The kidnapper grabs her. The men rush to her aid.

And we are out.

Remember Aylin asked Gul what was up to with the sneaking and lying about the extra food? This was addressed in a cut scene.

Gul takes Aylin to a place with young children. A school or an orphanage They all rush to Gul when she enters the yard. She hands out the treats she made to the kids.

Gul explains to Aylin, some of these kids have no one. Some don’t have a mother, some don’t have a father. Look, there are two sisters, their parents died in an accident. Their grandmother couldn’t take care of them and brought them here. I lost my baby, you lost your baby. I didn’t know what to do after Zafer.

A person thinks there is no problem bigger than his. I realized when I came here, there are pains much worse. They are alone at such a young age. They need ordinary things. So I cook and bring it here. They are so happy.

Aylin gets teary. She hugs her mom. It’s wonderful she does this. Gul says she does it for herself. They became my healing.

Gul says, I told my secret, now you tell me. We don’t hear what Aylin says, but Gul shared it with Osman.

Very exciting episode, and you did it justice, dondi!

Seems like Merdan has turned out to be a net positive. Looking back to the poisoned baklava, he looked like a real baddie. But he's definitely taking up the slack with Defne since Makbule left. And, thanks for mentioning that it's that same boy who seems autistic that Merdan came to see in the first season. So this is maybe another proof that Ayten, the hairdresser, is not a baddie. I also don't remember if the woman we saw caring for the boy was Ayten.

I've been hoping Ilgaz would forgive his father for covering up for Cinar. Last night it looked like they went a long way toward that. So...Metin didn't get any sort of prison sentence for taking Zafer's body away and burning evidence at the scene?

Ilgaz handled Rafet perfectly. He didn't flat tell him to go to hell; he just said it was part of their homicide investigation.

I see what Ilgaz is doing, but I don't quite think his effort to save Pars makes sense. He kept saying it was only an intention, but it sure seemed like he'd have gone through with it.

Thanks for noting that the house where the five are being kept is the same house where the well was. That seems kind of risky for the kidnapper. Wouldn't there still be cops on site?

Osman got an appointment with the doctor who has the same name as Aylin's beau. I'd be willing to bet it will be an old guy when Osman shows up.

Pars! Ye Gods: "You should have stopped me!" So, according to Pars, the role of a woman is to be a buffer between a man and his worst impulses? Please.

I see that kids in dizis get the same out-of-nowhere high fevers just like they do in telenovelas.

Yep, if someone needs to go, it's definitely the taxista. How could a person gulp 3/4 of a bottle of water with four other people in the same boat looking on? Ceylin is using her head and trying to control the others. What they need to do is sit quietly. No water and the RE agent is storming around the room sweating?

novelera, not sure, I could be wrong, but I think a case might still be pending against Cinar and Metin. I’ve heard on other dizis that it could take up to a year before a case is brought to trial. Maybe Lucio remembers.

No one likes Rafet. Ilgaz and Metin know him but we don’t know that backstory.
Ilgaz said he learned from Ceylin. And how he justifies his reasoning in saving Pity Party Pars.

ITA, I thought what Pars said to Derya was awful.
