Quote for Turkish ep #32: "My heart is a broken clock, it always stops at you..." - Turgut Uyar
Ceylin continues to clean her office and the water bottle is still on the table. Cops knock on the door to check her.
Pars calls for Yekta and Serdar. Yekta gives stupid Serdar final instructions.
Ilgaz calls Eren. Did you send a team to Ceylin? Yes, Eren replies, and one more thing—Metin visited her.
Pars asks, Serdar Denzi, why did you disappear? Wouldn’t someone fresh out of prison visit family? Yekta jumps in to answer—not necessarily. My client has been of legal age for some time. Serdar picks up from there, I ended up at a hotel. I just wanted comfort and calm.
Where did you get the money, Pars asks. Did you save in prison? Shake a tree? Serdar claims he had saved money from work. I thought I deserved it. Let’s see how much you deserved it, Pars replies. 3,500 TL per night! Wow, Serdar, you must have worked hard!
Questions continue. Why doesn’t your family know you are out? Serdar says he planned to make a surprise visit to them after his little vacation. Pars says ok, suppose I believe that… but why did you register under a different name? Yekta steps in again. He laughs, he’s young… and you can see, he’s not so smart. Trying to explain the reason is futile. They don’t think like us.
Okay, Pars replies, let’s say you convinced me of that too. Let’s go back 3 months. You were following Zafer on the day he was murdered. We tracked your phone to the park and the cemetery. Tell us what happened.
Serdar clears his throat. I saw Cinar and Zafer in the park. Flashbacks as he recounts. He tells the truth. The cemetery, the bus, the warehouse. Zafer pulled out his gun. He was going to kill Cinar. There was a struggle and then the gun went off. Pars asks, did you see them? Yes.
Pars follows up, and did you eat popcorn as if you were watching a play? Two people are fighting, one is your best friend. You didn’t ask what they were doing? You didn’t stop them? Yekta answers, maybe he was scared. Pars doesn’t want to hear from Yekta. He wants Serdar to answer.
This is where Serdar’s story diverges from the truth. Zafer collapsed. Cinar shot him twice, checked Zafer’s pulse and collapsed beside him.
Ilgaz arrives at Ceylin’s office. She snarks, not enough to have cops babysit. Where’s officer Eren? Ilgaz ignores that and asks, what kind of girl is Inci? Ceylin realizes this is serious. She describes her as sweet, nice. Short hair, cute. Why do you ask?
Ilgaz remembers she gave Ceylin a number. She begged you to find Cansu and Cagdas. Cagdas was killed that night. Ceylin says it was the morning. We don’t know that, Ilgaz replies, he was found in the morning. Inci spoke to you and soon after, Cagdas was murdered. Not a coincidence.
Ceylin is skeptical. Ilgaz asks if it is certain that Inci is Cansu’s friend. Ceylin says they seemed close. Inci knew why Cansu came to Istanbul. Ilgaz asks for Inci’s last name. Ceylin doesn’t know. Ilgaz asks Ceylin to call her. Ceylin calls –“the number you have reached is not in service.” Ilgaz says let’s go to the hospital and see if Inci is there, otherwise I’ll ask Cansu if she has a friend named Inci.
Serdar says he was scared and left. Pars calls Serdar a pathetic coward [apt description]. A baby gazelle. Serdar says Cinar was bleeding and he thought he was dead. I left but didn’t go far. I waited until night.
Pars says the limits of Serdar’s brain reveal themselves again. He asks Serdar to continue. Serdar says Cinar left and I followed him. Your friend was hurt and you didn’t help him, Pars asks. I couldn’t, Serdar replies, he shot someone three times in front of me. I was scared.
Poor thing, Pars quips, continue. Serdar says he followed Cinar to his house. Pars asks why. In case he fainted on the way? Serdar continues, Metin came out of the house. I thought he would go to the station, but he went to the place where Zafer was killed. When he took the body, I knew he was covering up. I followed. He went back home, and they took Cinar to the hospital.
Pars thinks Serdar followed as if he were on a mission. He looks directly at Yekta and asks Serdar, did anyone order you to do that? No, Serdar replies, I did it out of curiosity. Pars comments, curiosity killed the cat.
Serdar says he knew the body was in the trunk and he took it. Yekta interrupts, that’s humanity. That’s compassion. To give him a proper burial, right? Pars raises his voice, damn your humanity! What humanity? Where was your humanity when they were fighting? Yekta actually tries to convince Pars that Serdar was right to bury Zafer. Pars says this is ridiculous. Yekta says Pars must be able to prove Serdar’s bad intentions.
Iclal calls Ilgaz. The hearing is tomorrow at 5p. He tells Ceylin.
Pars recaps. You were scared. You didn’t go to the police or confront Cinar. You didn’t even tell Cinar. You didn’t tell Metin Kaya. You could have told Ilgaz but didn’t. Why not? Because you were a scared baby gazelle, right? You could have told Ceylin or Zafer’s family, but you didn’t. You could have reported this anonymously, but you didn’t.
Yetka says that Serdar was afraid his recent mistakes would be held against him and he’d be viewed as a criminal. [if the shoe fits] So he chose not to interfere. He made a decision, but not of bad intentions.
Pars unloads snarky comments. Then he asks, you carried that man and buried him by yourself? Serdar says he wasn’t heavy. Yekta wraps up by saying deceased was buried, and as far as we’re concerned, the case is closed. My client is just a witness.
Right, Pars says, because burying a body isn’t obstruction. Yekta must agree. His client delayed the truth from coming out and he’ll be punished accordingly. Yekta is anxious to get out of there. Pars says this is only a break, the questioning will continue. He tells Ridvan to have Serdar put in holding.
Cansu is still in a fragile emotional state. Ilgaz says they need to ask, do you have a friend named Inci? Yes, she replies, she was here this morning. I don’t remember much. Ilgaz asks if she has a pic of Inci. Cansu says they are on her phone. The police returned her phone but her father got angry and threw it on the ground. Her mother put it in the garbage.
Ilcey leave. Ceylin thinks Ilgaz was doing an interrogation. He replies that people were murdered. A commotion comes from Cansu’s room and Ilcey hurry back. A man is shouting, you’ll pay for this! You don’t know who you’re messing with! Ilgaz pulls the man off Cansu. It’s Cansu’s husband. Ceylin comforts Cansu.
Pars tries to contact Ilgaz before he tells Ceylin. No answer. Ridvan suggests he try again and Pars barks at him. But then he apologizes, I’m sorry for taking it out on you whenever I get upset, but understand… if I’m angry, just be quiet. I’m sorry. Ridvan smiles.
Ilgaz wants the husband taken in for attempted murder and assault of a DA. He wants protection for Cansu. The husband shouts a few more murderous threats at Cansu. Ilgaz threatens him with a life sentence. Ceylin pours some water for Cansu.
Pars finally gets through to Ilgaz. He tells him he took Serdar’s statement and put him in holding. Ilgaz tells Ceylin.
Pars updates Ilcey. As we guessed, Serdar was the third person at the scene. All he did was watch. He said Cinar shot Zafer as he was trying to take the gun and when he fell, he shot him twice. Ceylin says it means Cinar was lying. Pars replies it’s Serdar’s word vs. Cinar’s. Maybe Serdar shot Zafer. Ceylin doesn’t accept this. Pars says he’s offended.
Ceylin wants proof. Show me fingerprints. Ilgaz says his father erased them. Ceylin asks, why would Serdar kill my father? What would he gain? Why wouldn’t he bring Cinar to the hospital? Pars thinks those are legit questions. Ilgaz asks if Serdar contradicted himself. No, Pars replies, he admitted taking Zafer and burying him as an act of kindness. A real angel.
Why do you have doubts of the obvious, Ceylin asks Ilgaz. Forget he’s your brother. What would you think? Would we still be discussing this? Ilgaz says Ceylin is right. Pars asks, then why follow Zafer? Why take him from the trunk? He buried him and kept it from Cinar. I still don’t have answers to those questions and no one cares.
Ceylin answers, it’s because he helped his friend and his friend’s father. Then why didn’t Metin and Cinar know about his help, Pars asks. Serdar would have told them. Think about that. Tell me, what would you think if it wasn’t your father that died, and if Metin and Cinar weren’t the perpetrators? Furthermore, you were accused of Engin’s murder. There was a third suspect there as well. We did everything we could to indict you. If we had, you might still be in jail.
I didn’t kill Engin, Ceylin says. And there’s a confession. Cinar and his father stated their guilt. Write the accusation, Pars. Serdar will pay for what he did, but it’s clear that Cinar is the killer. Is there proof of the opposite? No. Other witnesses? No. Please write the accusation! Pars doesn’t want to be pressured. She gets up and walks out. Ilgaz is dejected.
Ceylin sees the AG in the hall. She complains to him. Serdar testified Cinar killed her father, but there’s no accusation yet. The AG says he just gave the statement. Ceylin doesn’t care. What are we waiting for? It’s been 3 months, we’re still mourning. No one’s been punished. The AG assures her that Pars will do what’s necessary. She’s not so sure.
Yekta and Cuneyt appear in the distance. Yekta says he loves Ceylin, she does not disappoint. He enjoys it more when he sees Ilgaz and Pars appear. Ceylin continues to complain about Pars. The AG asks her to have patience. Ilgaz tells Pars to go ahead and write the accusation.
Ilgaz pays a visit to Serdar. Look me in the eyes, the DA says, you said you didn’t do anything. But wherever I look, I always see you. What do we do with you? Serdar says, I told the other DA I’m Cinar’s friend.
Ilgaz reaches through the bars and pulls Serdar’s head between them. You don’t even believe the things you’re saying. I’ve caught plenty like you who tell lie after lie. A movement, a twitch of the eye, a faint smile. I’ve got you Serdar Denzi. I’m going to prove it. Ilgaz releases Serdar’s head and grabs his shirt. I’m going to make sure you get a life sentence.
Pars tells the AG he just took Serdar’s statement. I’ll have something as soon as I evaluate it. Ceylin accuses him of stalling for time. This isn’t a game, Pars replies, it’s an indictment. I’ll submit it once it’s prepared. Ceylin says she doesn’t want anyone to vindicate Cinar. She walks.
The AG doesn’t want to interfere, but… if a police chief and Ilgaz weren’t involved… we need results ASAP. I’m worried about Ilgaz’s and the court’s reputation. He tells Pars, write up the indictment.
As soon as the AG leaves Pars, Yekta and his lapdog come over. Is your break over yet? Until I say, Pars replies. He walks away. See how desperate and angry he is, Yekta says, I’m certain Serdar will be released. Cuneyt looks uncomfortable.
Derya catches Ilgaz in the hallway. Bad news. Cansu’s been poisoned. She’s in the ICU. Ilgaz calls Ceylin.
Pars asks Eren to meet him at the restaurant across from the courthouse. Pars leaves his office and there are Yekta and Cuneyt. He has some disparaging remarks for Cuneyt. Yekta asks when they will resume. Pars says he needs some Vitamin D on his wrists and is going to stand outside in the sun.
Ceylin thinks she poisoned Cansu with the water. The water was there, you only poured it, Ilgaz says. He asks, could Inci have poisoned her when she visited? Ceylin says Cansu had lots of visitors, why are you so obsessed with Inci? Ilgaz thinks it’s possible she did it. Ceylin defends Inci. And she throws some shade our way—this isn’t the US, where sickos and psychos roam the streets.
Ilgaz says it’s about revenge. Revenge on all those involved. She’s using the same method to kill everyone. Inci was at the hospital and came to you first. Ceylin says yes, and I’m fine. Only because she used you, he replies. We talked about this. She used you to find Cagdas, he was poisoned. She went to see you when Cansu was at the hospital. She could have found out where Cansu was. It fits, we just have to prove it.
Did she give you anything to eat or drink at the office, Ilgaz asks. No, but Ceylin remembers the bottle of water she left on the table.
Pars and Eren meet. Eren is anxious to hear about Serdar. Pars says Serdar watched like a cow staring at a passing train. Eren says he’d like to get a hold of Serdar. Pars shares that he’s getting pressured by Ceylin and the AG to write the indictment. I’m out of options, he says, but we’ll keep looking. I’m thinking of letting Serdar go.
Eren asks why. Pars replies, surveillance. We’re watching Yekta but we can say we’re watching Serdar and not him. If we discover anything weird, we will arrest him. Pars wants it to stay between them. Don’t let Ilgaz… well, he’s not the problem… don’t let Ceylin find out. Pars decides to stay and have soup and keep Yekta waiting a bit longer.
Ilcey arrive at the office. He sees the box with his name. Ilgaz picks up the bottle with a tissue. Ceylin recounts what happened when Inci visited. She left Inci alone to get water in the kitchen. She was alone with the bottle. Flashback. We see Inci dosing Ceylin’s water bottle.
Pars returns to the courthouse. Yekta asks if he took his vitamins. Yes, Pars replies, C and D. For immune system and stress. You should try it. Pars won’t let Cuneyt into his office.
Yekta asks if Pars will continue the testimony or request detention. Pars says we’re done. After you both sign, you are free to go. Yekta is ticked—you made us wait for this? I made a decision, Pars replies, is that alright with you? Your client is being released. He will be tried, but for now he can go.
Serdar is brought to the office. Pars states he’s tired of breathing the same air as Yekta and his friends. And Pars tells Serdar not to go anywhere, he might be called to testify.
Outside, Serdar asks if he is really free. Yes, Yekta replies, but be careful. He warns Serdar to be careful with Ilgaz. He’s obsessed with you. He wants to look for every last detail. Can he find anything that proves you’re the killer? Serdar says there’s nothing. Yekta tells Cuneyt to take Serdar home. A cop follows them.
A temporary replacement is found for Metin.
Ilcey bring the water bottle to the station. It could be evidence. The Judge Kemal case. Ceylin leaves the station to take care of family stuff and as Ilgaz says “her new life”. He calls out to her, I can take you. She says okay.
LOL. Cuneyt pulls over on the side of the road and tells Serdar to get out and walk the rest of the way. Serdar asks for his phone back. Cuneyt says he doesn’t have it with him. And he’d have to ask Yekta if he deserves to get it back. Serdar whines about it and Cuneyt wants him out of the car. Now! One last thing… Serdar says he’s hungry and broke. Cuneyt gives Serdar what he has, probably just to get rid of him. Serdar starts to hitch.
Cuneyt walks into Yekta’s office with something on his mind. He asks, what did we do in court today? Yekta says it was a regular day, remind me. Cuneyt is uncharacteristically upset with Yekta. What we did in court today was risky. What if we had been caught?! Imagine what would have happened. He’s a murderer! To be clear, we would have been arrested. We could lose our jobs, be disbarred! [what does Yekta care, he practices law without a degree.] What do you think you’re doing?
Yekta snarks, will you be finished with your speech on ethics soon? I want to know how far your greed will take you, Cuneyt replies, where will we end up? How many rules and laws will we break? Now we’re covering for a murderer! It’s a major crime! If they catch us we will pay a very high price! Do you realize?!
I wonder what’s going on in that little brain of yours, Yekta asks, what are you thinking? I’d like to know. My mind is clear, sir, Cuneyt replies, all I want to know is how far we will take this. We’ve been falsifying documents, fabricating evidence, corrupting forensic scientists and representing criminals. Where do we draw the line?!
Yekta has heard enough. He bangs the table and leaps to his feet. He shouts, there is no line, Cuneyt! We have no limits! You knew that when you started working here. Is it written here in big, gold letters, that my basic principle is truth and honesty? Did I promise you these things? How dare you speak to me like this!
Yekta rages. Do you know what I despise most in life? When the vermin at my feet attempt to get in my way. It’s a shame because I can’t see where I’m walking and I end up stepping on them until I’ve destroyed them! Now, tell me, Cuneyt, what are your limits? [this doesn’t bode well for Cuneyt, does it?] Do you have the guts to go past it?
Cuneyt answers, know where my limits are? My profession determines them. Unlike you, my law degree is real. [Bravo, Cuneyt!] If anything happens to you, you can survive. I can’t. Cuneyt turns and leaves. Yekta sweeps documents off the table.
Lacin comes to Tilmen Law and is almost run over by Cuneyt in the hallway. She enters Yekta’s office and he bellows… can’t you knock! He’s surprised to see her. She didn’t plan on coming but she can see it’s a bad time. She says, Cuneyt looked as if he was ready to explode. Are you fighting? What do you care, Yekta replies, we’re doing business, not wasting time like you.
She says this is not business, it’s something else. Let me guess, you finally found out Cuneyt is still with Neva. They didn’t break up. He’s madly in love with her. You couldn’t handle it and he said it’s none of your business. He told you to go to hell.
Yekta says it’s not that. He did what I told him to do. He doesn’t go anywhere without asking me first. Lacin laughs, that’s so cute. I didn’t think you were naïve. You surprised me. You’re losing your best worker to matters of the heart and you don’t see it. Yes, I forgot, emotions aren’t your thing.
Yekta grabs her by the wrist—tell me everything you know. Never touch me again without my permission, Lacin replies. You know, I’m not having dinner with you. I’m not hungry. Before she leaves she says, their love is real. It’s out of your control. But you are so focused on yourself, so swept up in your megalomania, you didn’t see it. You’re pathetic. [Brava, Lacin!] She leaves.
Ilgaz drops Ceylin off at the new house. See you tomorrow at 4:30.
Cuneyt comes to Neva’s place, with flowers. Ozgur is lurking. He calls Yekta to report.
Ilgaz enters his father’s house and Merdan invites him to sit for dinner. Defne wants her brother to stay. Ilgaz tells Metin he heard he visited Ceylin. Don’t do it again, he says, I want her to find peace. I’m trying to keep you away from her so she can heal. Metin agrees.
Ilgaz tells Defne he’s not staying for dinner. She asks if he’s going to sleep in the van. He tells her to bring her blanket.
Metin asks Ilgaz about Serdar’s statement. He said he witnessed it, Ilgaz replies, he insists he’s innocent. The statements match up. Nothing has changed. Metin asks how they found Serdar. Yekta took him to the courthouse.
Cuneyt raves about the eggplant at dinner. He doesn’t care for eggplant but this is delicious, especially because Neva made it. Neva asks, did Yekta and you take Serdar to the courthouse today? Yes. Her follow up—did Serdar really come on his own free will or did my brother catch you while you were kidnapping him?
All of a sudden that eggplant doesn’t taste so good. That’s quite a question, Cuneyt says, it sounds like an accusation. She’s sorry and says, it just looks suspicious. Serdar is released, then he’s wanted for the murder of Zafer Erguvan, but no one can find him. Suddenly, the DA sees him in a car with his lawyers and gets his statement. People are talking in the hallways. You’re my boyfriend, I’m worried and I want to know.
Cuneyt says they brought Serdar in for his statement, that’s all. She pushes. What are you getting at, he asks. Tell me. You didn’t look at me in the courthouse today. You avoid my calls and make me a target. Just say it.
We all make mistakes, Neva replies, I do, too. But it’s not the same when you do it again and again. You have to know when to stop. It’s impossible when you work for someone who is so evil. Yekta is always mixed up in something illegal. Now that I’m a judge, your position, your stance, even your choices affect me as your girlfriend.
Cuneyt says he was just a lawyer when they met. You should have thought of that then and asked if this was in your best interest. Isn’t it a little late for that? I didn’t know, she shoots back. But now I do. I see it. I hear it. If one day it all blows up due to illegalities, it won’t just affect you. Okay, he replies, here’s what we will do. I won’t let it affect you. I’ll keep working there, and I’ll no longer be a burden to you. Dinner is over, Cuneyt has left the building.
They cut when Ceylin came home. Her family was there. They straightened up for her and Gul cooked dinner. Parla asks her aunt if they found Serdar. Yes, and he testified he was a witness. Parla thinks if anyone is the killer it’s Serdar. Ceylin questions how well Parla knows these people. They got you involved in a crime. Cinar could do it and he did. It ends with Parla leaving.
Now Gul and Aylin leave. Gul has left a bag of stuff outside the door to give away or throw out. Right now, it seems Gul is pleased with Ceylin, and so is Aylin. Aylin warns Ceylin to check the bag in case Gul tossed something she wants. And sure enough, it’s one of Ilgaz’s shirts. So Ceylin does exactly what we expect, she sits on the step and sniffs it.
Meanwhile, Ilgaz is working on the van. Eren calls Ilgaz. Ceylin’s water was poisoned. Inci is a serial killer. Ilgaz leaves a message for Ceylin the water was poisoned, we need to find Inci. We’ll talk tomorrow morning.
Ceylin hangs Ilgaz’s shirt in the wardrobe. She plays Ilgaz’s message—over and over, until she falls asleep.
Next morning, Ilgaz visits Cansu in the hospital. He asks the cop on guard if security footage has been checked. Yes, it’s being prepared. Ilgaz wants it sent to the courthouse asap.
Cansu asks if it is true she was poisoned. Ilgaz confirms that but adds there’s no reason to be afraid anymore. She asks, why would someone want to do that? Ilgaz says they will investigate and catch whoever is responsible.
Ilgaz asks her about Inci. Cansu says they became friendly through social media. They messaged each other a couple of times. That’s it. Cansu says Inci had deleted all her social media accounts because a guy started messing with her. She got scared. Ilgaz asks for Inci’s last name. Gorben. Cansu is curious, why all the questions about Inci? Did something happen to her? Ilgaz doesn’t answer that.
Cansu asks about Riza. [Is that her husband?] Ilgaz says he will pay for what he did. Call Ceylin or another lawyer when you are ready. There’s nothing stopping you from divorcing. You have our support and that of the law.
Ilgaz calls Derya. Inci’s name is Gorben. Unfortunately, she deleted her social media accounts.
Ceylin arrives home and finds Osman in her yard. He tells her he’s going to tell Yekta he changed his mind. I’m fine with whatever Aylin does. I’m sorry about everything. I’m not going to fight. I’ve already broken my daughter’s heart. I deserved what happened to me. All I want is a plate at the table and to be with Parla. I want to be able to look at her and not feel shame. I’ll talk to Yekta. Please talk to Aylin. Tell her how sorry I am.
Ceylin agrees. But she tells Osman not to talk to Yekta. He asks why. He hurt us a lot, she replies, he hurt me. He’s still practicing law without a degree, and I can’t prove it. Osman had no idea. You should know the rest, Ceylin says, don’t say anything to him yet. Let him think you’re on his side. Will you help me? Osman says, count on me.
Lacin and Ceylin meet at a restaurant. Lacin says that Cuneyt is more ambitious than you think. He’s still with Yekta despite the suffering and insults. Ceylin says Cuneyt chose his path. Lacin says he’s obviously unhappy. Why would he choose to stay with Yekta?
Because he has hope, Ceylin replies. One day, when Yekta leaves, when he turns himself in, when he loses his fake title, Cuneyt will run the firm. That’s his plan. What a shame, Lacin says. Ceylin says to keep pressuring Cuneyt while I try to convince Neva. Looks like Cuneyt is the only one we can use to destroy Yekta.
Ilgaz comes to see Derya. She tells him Inci Gorben never existed. Who is this girl? Derya doesn’t know. There are no images or witnesses or anything. The only one who’s spoken to her is Ceylin.
Looks like Lacin is hiring Ceylin to be her divorce lawyer. Someone is following the ladies.
Derya tells Ilgaz Yesim won’t admit to knowing Inci if they are colluding. Ilgaz thinks seeing her face will be good enough. What’s more, Derya says, the killer could be her enemy. We need to warn her.
Pars calls out to Ilgaz and Derya. He needs a minute with Ilgaz about the indictment he has to deliver today. Pars says he might need Ilgaz’s opinion. Ilgaz says he trusts Pars. Pars understands.
Ceylin tells Lacin this will be difficult. Yekta will not accept you taking his things. You signed a prenup. We have to see when you signed and things that were acquired during the marriage. It will take time. Lacin is prepared. Yekta will try to wear us down, Ceylin warns, he will attack from all sides. I don’t say this to scare you. It’s my pleasure to do this.
Lacin says even if it takes her whole life, she won’t give up. For the first time, I’m fighting a war with Yekta. I never had before, I didn’t dare. I gave in when I was raising my son. I sacrificed, put my life in his hands, but now I’m done. I lost so much. You have to hit rock bottom to get back up. I want to look in his eyes without fear. I don’t care about money or property. I’m doing it for my own honor. Ceylin says they are going to win.
Neva calls Ceylin. Can we meet? Ceylin says to send the location.
Derya and Ilgaz visit with Yesim. She asks if they are there to deliver bad news. Derya says no. Yesim thinks this since they came unannounced. Derya says they came to see if she is alright. We’re fine, Yesim says, my father just left. I was going to watch TV. Ilgaz asks, do you know anyone by the name of Inci Gorben? No. Yesim asks, who is she? Should I know? Ilgaz and Derya look at each other.
Yekta asks for Mr. Bilgin. Bilgin asks what’s the matter. Yekta replies, Cuneyt Ozgan. Start his termination process immediately. Bilgin doesn’t understand. Cuneyt? Yekta barks, how many Cuneyts work at Tilmen? As you wish, Bilgin replies. Yekta adds that no one can find out about this. I don’t want rumors to spread. Do it quietly. If anyone finds out, I’ll fire all of you.
Derya and Ilgaz get up to leave. Derya says, if anyone named Inci or a young woman tries to reach out to you, notify us immediately. Outside, Derya says Yesim didn’t know Inci. She didn’t react when Inci was mentioned. Ilgaz says that’s because she is Inci. She introduced herself to Cansu and Ceylin with that name.
And we are out.
Re-posting my comment about Friday's episode; put it up late and wasn't sure if anyone saw it.
Marvelous recap, dondi! I was visiting a friend for a day and a half and had no chance to read your recap nor comment earlier. Barely getting it in before the page changes to Monday.
I get such a kick out of Pars. He has the fewest skills in courting a woman of any dizi or telenovela guy ever.
Something about the eclairs briefly made me think of Proust's madeleines.
I really enjoy Tugce's easy, teasing relationship with Eren. The combination of Eren's time with her plus his getting rid of evil stepfather has made her a different person.
I also wondered why Ceylin is getting around in a taxi. IIRC they even showed a blue car that looked like that in front of Gul's house.
I'm not sure if this Cagdas mystery adds anything to the dizi. Mostly, I just get confused. Thanks, Lucio, for clearing up Yesim, the supposed friend of Cansu, plotting to find Cagdas in order to (we think) poison him.
I loved Ilgaz grabbing Yekta. He's all mouth and no physical bravery at all.
Hmmm. Odd family relationships to me at least. I'd never have called my sister for help if my child misbehaved. Aylin just gets bug-eyed and unable to act.
Yekta definitely screwed up, hopefully the first of many such happenings. Bringing Serdar to the courthouse to scare him resulted in his being arrested and possibly putting Yekta himself in the soup. That sure was quick thinking on Yekta's part, saying he'd found him and was bringing him in. Gah!
Thanks once again, dondi. Your stamina amazes me! Can't Pars order Yekta to stop answering his client's questions? Serdar is an obvious weak link and would stumble if not for Yekta.
Ye Gods, Yekta says Serdar demonstrated humanity by taking Zafer's body?
Pars apologizes to Ridvan!!! Ok, he's definitely going to end up with Derya and be happy.
Ceylin is obstinate to the point of shooting herself in the foot. Who's a more likely murderer of her father: Serdar, who she knows pulled her niece into a mafia scheme and has a drugs complaint pending or Cinar, deer in the headlights and part of a very upstanding family?
It almost seems like Ceyline WANTS to ruin her relationship with Ilgaz.
How disgusting. It looks like Cansu was brought to Istanbul to be married off to that ugly, 50-something abuser her parents chose for her. I can't remember; did she even know why they were going to Istanbul?
At least in CA, assets and bank accounts acquired after marriage are community property. Lacin has been married to that scum for a very long time. Unless she signed something later, she should be able to have a comfortable life.
Thanks for the repost, novelera. I did miss your comment. And thanks for all your comments.
I’m enjoying scenes with Pars. The actor delivers some great lines and has a very quirky chemistry with the others. And yes, Pars apologized to Ridvan!
Eren and Tugce are very sweet together. I think he’s saved her life.
Ceylin is her own worst enemy. Did she break all her toys as a kid?
I think Ilgaz is a masochist. The more Ceylin abuses him the more he loves her.
ITA what happened to Cansu was disgusting. This is why I tend to avoid dizis based in SE Turkey.
ITA Ilgaz grabbing Yekta!
If Yekta blows up a law school to avoid exposure, I can only imagine what he would do to Lacin in a divorce. I also have a bad feeling about Cuneyt’s future. Unfortunately, I think it is way too early for Yekta to be defeated.
We made it to Turkish ep 33. There were 34 eps in the first Turkish season.
I'll have a recap up later this evening.
Thank you, dondi356.
The poisoning case keeps Ilgaz and Ceylin working together. And now that they are on a break, Ceylin calmed down with Ilgaz. Why doesn't she postpone the divorce hearing by coming up with some excuse? She was the one that said "Let's divorce then."
Cuneit and Lacin suddenly rebelled. Yecta was treating them the same as usual. They must have had enough.
Pars is the funniest character on the show. And at the beginning he was pretty obnoxious.
Novelera, "did she even know why they were going to Istanbul?" No, she didn't, she learned in Istanbul.
Thanks, Lucio.
Ceylin has had some moments of self awareness since Ilgaz left her. ThereYou don't know what you've got til it's gone. I'm sure they will be back together soon.
Some scenes are condensed and/or combined.
Ilgaz finds mud on a pair of women’s sneakers and figures that Yesim and Inci are the same person. Ilgaz has a plan in mind to catch Yesim. He calls Ceylin and tells her his theory. She is the only one who can confirm it. He tells her to find the officer protecting her and have him bring you to Yesim’s house.
Ceylin meets Neva at a restaurant. Neva tells her Cuneyt broke up with her because she asked if he brought Serdar to the courthouse or if Pars caught them. Ceylin is sorry to hear it. Neva says they had to overcome a lot in their relationship. She’s not sure why Cuneyt is mad. If it’s because of what she said or because she put the truth in his face.
Neva decides to help Ceylin. Ceylin warns her she could lose Cuneyt for good. Neva thinks it’s the right thing to do. She says she will invite Cuneyt out and Ceylin should come.
Ilgaz calls Eren and tells him they are about to arrest someone for murder. Send a team to the location.
Pars puts the finishing touches on the indictment. He delivers it to the AG.
They cut: Ozge is still giving Ridvan the cold shoulder over the gossip incident.
Eren and Ilgaz talk about the pending Ilcey divorce. The marriage was over before it began. They didn’t even get to wear rings. Ilgaz says he bought rings, he was going to surprise Ceylin with a dinner and a real proposal. He doesn’t know what to do with them and hands the rings to Eren. Eren tells him to keep them. Maybe he can try again.
Ceylin arrives on the scene. Ilgaz says if you recognize her, we’ll detain her. It’s Inci, and Yesim is taken away. Ceylin is upset she fell for this trickster. Ilgaz says even he and Derya were taken in. Ceylin tells Ilgaz if it wasn’t for Metin coming over, she would have drunk the water. She supposes he saved her life.
It’s 3:55, almost time for divorce court. It’s a sad, sad Ilcey car ride with flashbacks of their love story.

Merdan shows up at Tilmen Law to see Yekta. He has no appointment, Yekta is out. He’ll sit and wait. Ozgur walks in to get some files and Merdan calls him over. Merdan is impressed that Ozgur is Yekta’s driver. Where did Yekta find you? No time to answer because the receptionist comes back with the files.
Ilcey come before Judge Duygu. Ilgaz’s petition cites Irreconcilable differences. Ceylin alleges that Ilgaz meddles in her life, reducing her workload and efficiency. Ilgaz says it’s true. The judge realizes they said this because a marriage less than a year wouldn’t be dissolved uncontested. The judge also has doubts about Ceylin’s allegations because she knows Ilgaz is such a great guy.
Anyway… no assets to divide… no children. The judge asks, are you sure? Such sad yeses. This court accepts the plaintiff’s request and all specifications will be stated in the final ruling. Under Article 1661 of the Civil Code, both parties have decided to divorce.

Ceylin takes off in tears. We get more Ilcey flashbacks, making my recapping easier.
We get the 6 months later time jump again. Silent tears from Ceylin. She is examined, samples are taken. Hmm… a wedding ring is removed and swabbed.
Back to the present. Eren catches Ceylin in the hall. He tells her Yesim insists on talking to her. He goes on and on, not realizing at first that Ceylin is very upset. Then he realizes and pulls her into a hug. She cries, it’s killing me! It hurts so much! [Waaah, it’s kinda your fault Ceylin]
Ilgaz goes to his office looking more angry than sad. He sits at his desk and rubs his eyes. Maybe to stop any tears. Pars rushes in, jabbering about the indictment. Details are missing… we have no evidence. A team is investigating. It’s unbelievable. He stops when he realizes something is wrong. Ilgaz tells Pars, Ceylin and I are officially divorced.
Outside, Ceylin tells Eren, you cling to hope to the very end. I thought he’d do something when the judge gave her ruling. Eren asks, why didn’t you tell him you didn’t want the divorce? She shrugs. Eren says a judge’s signature doesn’t matter if you love each other. Ceylin replies that anger tainted their love and it’s impossible to go back. He gives her comfort and encouragement. Eren spots Ilgaz and Pars, he goes over. Ceylin tries to compose herself.
Pars tells Ilgaz to stop thinking about it. Let’s go for a walk. Ilgaz is silent. Pars understands if he wants to be alone. He tells Ilgaz to go home, make coffee and watch a movie. Home, Ilgaz asks, where is that? He can’t go to his father’s house and he can’t go to Ceylin’s. Pars doesn’t know what to say. Ilgaz thanks him and he says he’s going to the station.
Eren tells Ilgaz that Yesim wants to speak with Ceylin before she is questioned. Ilgaz asks if she wants Ceylin to represent her. Ceylin says never! Ilgaz says let’s go. Eren runs off to his own car, leaving Ilcey to travel together.
Merdan has left Tilmen. The receptionist tells Yekta there was a man waiting. An older gentleman, he didn’t give his name, he wanted to surprise you. Yekta says he probably came to ask for money. Forget him and get me a coffee.
Merdan makes a call from his car. Find Serdar. Find out where he is and what he’s doing.
Ceylin reads the indictment. It mentions a third suspect and the need to investigate further. Pars said he acted in self-defense. Ilgaz stays quiet. You aren’t going to say anything, she asks. He says it’s his right. [Hmmm…. If they were still married, they’d likely have a huge fight over it]
Derya arrives at the station and Umut tells her Yesim wants to speak with Ceylin. A lawyer, Murat Isbulan, shows up from the defender’s office to represent Yesim. Murat says he’s here against his will. He’s only here because it’s his job. He was fond of Judge Kemal.
Yesim is brought in and Ceylin is willing to speak with her alone. Yesim is a smug b*tch. She chose the name Inci to lure Ceylin. It was easy. She followed Ilcey to find Cagdas. She says, if it weren’t for you, he would still be alive. Ceylin fires back, find someone else to blame for your sins! You’re wasting time if you expect me to be impressed by your intelligence. If you were smart, you wouldn’t be here.
Ceylin asks, what do you want from me? Yesim leans in, Cagdas killed my brother, that’s the truth, not the other things that you say. Ceylin says, I understand…. Yesim interrupts, she’s not done. Cagdas was released from prison because of you. You’ll send me to prison. They’ll say I killed innocent people. But I killed my brother’s killer, not an innocent man. The others took part in his crime and you’re going to prove that’s what happened.
You want a means of escape and to soothe your conscience, Ceylin replies, it’s not going to happen. Cagdas was innocent, you killed innocent people. Yesim is unmoved. You have two days, she says, you have to prove Cagdas murdered my brother. If you fail, she warns, someone else will die.
Ceylin tells her it’s over. Yesim drops a bomb. She claims to have an accomplice. See how smart I am, she brags.
Ceylin rushes out of the room looking for Ilgaz. Eren says he’s in his office. They hurry off. Derya is in the room with Ilgaz when Ceylin enters. She has an accomplice! Someone is helping her. I have two days to prove Cagdas killed her brother or someone else will die. Derya thinks maybe Yesim is lying. What if she isn’t, Ilgaz replies. Ceylin thinks it’s true and she’s upset. She doesn’t want another death weighing on her.
Yesim is brought to interrogation. Ilgaz is the DA. Eren is present. Murat comes in as the reluctant defense. Ceylin and Derya watch behind the glass. Ilgaz wants to know everything Yesim said to Ceylin. Yesim says that Ceylin already told and she’s not talking. Eren asks who’s helping her. Is it your father? Yesim uses her right to remain silent.
Ilgaz tells Eren to take Yesim back to her cell. He tells Yesim the court will issue the indictment tomorrow and then she will go to prison.
Eren locks Yesim up. He tells her they will find her accomplice and they will have the next cell. She smirks.
The group is back in Eren’s office. They have two days before another death. They think of possible targets. Derya mentions the other judge in the case. Ilgaz says to speak to the judge about protection for him and his family. Ceylin asks if they’ve questioned Yesim’s father. Not yet. Ilgaz says to get the father.
Pars shows up. A gathering and I wasn’t informed? His humor doesn’t go over well in this case. Pars notes it’s a bad time. Ilgaz asks him to stay and help.
Cuneyt thinks about contacting Neva but doesn’t. She calls him. Have we both calmed down or should I hang up? He tells her he was just about to call her. You have the right to speak your mind, I owe you an apology. She says ok, come out, I’m in the parking lot. Let’s get something to eat.
Eren and Umut bring in piles of binders and files related to Cihan’s case. It will help find the targets or the killer. Ilgaz asks who wrote the reports? Do we have forensics? We need to make a list. Everyone grabs a file.
Neva sends Ceylin a text with the location. Ceylin tells the group she needs to go and will be back in an hour. Ilgaz worries about her safety. Ceylin says she’ll take Eren along for protection.
Ceylin is pensive. She says, our stories are similar. Yesim also lost loved ones. Her brother, then her mother. I know how much that hurts. Life goes on while you fight your pain. It burns. But that’s not the answer. Getting revenge won’t help. Will killing someone bring your loved one back? No. She has a father that should have protected her.
This spurs Eren to talk to Ceylin about Tugce. He wants to make the father-daughter thing official. He asks if she will help him. She’s happy to do it. We’ll file a paternity and custody suit immediately.
Eren says he doesn’t need custody. He has an interesting view. She’s not an object, she’s a person. There’s no need to fight. She’s not a child and can think for herself. My house is her home and I want her to know I’ll always be there for her.
Ceylin says Eren is an excellent person [and I agree]. He wants everyone to know he is Tugce’s father. For her to proudly say Inspector Eren is her dad. My heart soars when I hear her say “what’s up inspector?”.
Eren is worried about sending Ceylin alone. Ceylin says it won’t take long and she won’t drink anything.
Neva waves Ceylin over. Cuneyt asks if she was expecting someone. Neva says Ceylin wanted to speak with him and she agreed to help. Neva excuses herself. Eren lurks outside the restaurant.
Ceylin realizes he’s not happy about this ambush, but it’s important. You have to help me. It’s about Yekta. She will make Cuneyt a promise. I’m going to expose Yekta for every crime he’s committed. If you’re still with him when the day of reckoning comes, you’ll go down with him. If you help me, I swear nothing will happen to you. If you help Yekta, kiss your freedom goodbye. You decide.
Cuneyt says this is the most ridiculous thing he’s ever heard. Ceylin takes that as a no. I warned you, she says, don’t blame me for whatever happens to you.
Neva comes back and Ceylin thanks her for doing her best. Cuneyt is not happy with Neva. She realizes he won’t help Ceylin. I hope she succeeds, she says, we both know she’s right. I hope I get the chance to preside over Yekta’s trial. She leaves.
Eren gives Ceylin an update, they have Yesim’s PC and her father, Suat.
Derya and Pars are in the office alone. She mentions that DA Ilgaz is very good. Pars replies, we are, too. We’re a team.
Umut tells Ilgaz the only available space to question Suat is in Metin’s office. Ilgaz enters and there are memories, some of his dad’s stuff is there in a box. He sits in his dad’s chair. Suat enters. He knows they suspect Yesim of murder. He doesn’t look too surprised. He was also told she could walk. He can’t believe it this. Suat asks, why did she lie?
Ilgaz tells Suat that Yesim killed 3 people. One survived and one didn’t drink the poison. She told us she had an accomplice and this person will kill again. Do you know who’s helping her? Is it you? God forbid! No, not me, Suat answers. He has no idea who it could be.
A cut: Derya orders food for herself, Pars and the IT tech. She’s dying of hunger. Her blood sugar is low. Suddenly, Pars thinks about the killer. Her food could be poisoned. He searches Eren’s desk for snacks. He finds half eaten stuff and open packages. Derya can’t wait any longer. She takes a big bite and Pars is horrified. She tells him if anything happens to her, then he shouldn’t eat his. He tells her we are in this together and he takes a big bite.
Ilgaz wonders how Suat could live in the same house and not know his daughter could walk. She was very quiet, Suat says, never left her room. Ilgaz says he would understand if he wanted to protect Yesim. But if you know something, now is the time to say it. Ilgaz adds, you might be saving someone’s life. She won’t have to pay for another crime. Listen to your heart. Suat sticks to his story. Ilgaz tells Suat he’ll be staying as a guest for a while.
Derya says that Yesim opened social media accounts using a different name. She doesn’t have many friends but she follows a lot of people. The tech has hacked into the laptop and Ceylin takes over from there. Pars thinks they will find searches about drugs. Ilgaz returns and tells them there’s nothing from Suat yet.
Ceylin finds something on social media. A guy that could be Yesim’s boyfriend? The username is “dermansiz dert”. Derya says “trouble-free troublemaker”. [I’d translate that as “incurable trouble”.] Ceylin says the comments are disabled but he gets a lot of likes.
They scroll through the page and see a building and letters E and K. A store that sells chemicals? Pars says let’s look for stores that start with EK. Find out where this guy works. Ceylin figures Yesim got the poison from him, but who’s her target?
It’s late and they decide to divide the work and take it home. Pars offers Derya a ride home and she accepts. That leaves Ilcey. She grabs some files and he offers to take her home. Then he’s coming back to question Suat and Yesim again. She says she will get home herself but no way he’s letting her go alone.
Eren is with the IT guy. He’s got a list of EK stores in Istanbul. There are lot. Eren says team up and review the records of the owners and staff. Do a thorough search. And this is urgent.
Pars drops off Derya. When he opens his trunk, there are files everywhere. She comments, you keep the courthouse in your trunk! If we look deep enough, we’ll even find Ridvan in there. Pars seriously replies that it got messy during the drive. She is sorry, she was only joking.
Pars sort of starts babbling. Then they both laugh. He says, my emotions rusted. I seem to have forgotten how to laugh. Long live all of this. Derya says, I don’t know about that, but I’d like a peaceful life. [then I think she’s in the wrong profession]
There are chairs in the trunk, and she asks about them. [looks like beach chairs] She says he doesn’t look like a nature loving type. He admits it is a good observation. He bought the chairs because of a friend. She looks disappointed. [maybe wondering if this friend is a woman?] I think Pars picks up on this and quickly says that Ilgaz has a passion for nature. I bought them to strengthen our friendship.
She smiles and takes her things from Pars’ hands. There’s a little shock. Pars says stress produces electricity. She says let’s walk barefoot through nature and maybe we’ll ditch the bad vibes. I like to watch the horizon from the shore. Neva doesn’t know that yet, so you have an exclusive. He looks enchanted.
Derya continues, those chairs don’t look too comfortable, but we should test them out. Pars replies, it would be my pleasure, Derya… uh… Savcım. Okay, she smiles, good night, Pars Savcım. She walks away. He says, and what a good night it is for me.
Ilgaz walks Ceylin to her house. She tells him she requested an additional forensic report for her father’s case. They enter. He says, the place looks beautiful. Warm, just like you wanted. You made a home for yourself. A little bit of awkwardness. They drag out the goodbyes.
Yesim is brought to the courthouse. Ilgaz meets Ceylin outside. She asks if Yesim talked. Nope. She said nothing even though he woke her 3 times. I questioned her, he says, pressured her, I asked the same questions over again and she didn’t say a word. I’m sending her to prison and hoping she’ll decide to talk. Ceylin feels intimidated by Yesim. Ilgaz says, she tried to kill you, she’s not playing.
Ilgaz asks Ceylin if she found anything that suggested Cagdas was the killer. She couldn’t find anything. She asks, what do we do next? Wait? He says Eren sent a team to check out stores that sell chemicals.
Pars stops ilgaz on his way to the courtroom. He asks if Yesim talked. No. Pars says he and Derya checked the files and found nothing. Yesim is staring daggers at the two of them. Ilgaz is worried about another victim. It could be Ceylin.
Yesim stares at Ilgaz and Derya as they enter the courtroom. Pars calls her on it. Have some shame! Stare at the floor! Take her inside!
Serdar runs over to Cuneyt as he gets out of his car. I’m here to get my phone. Cuneyt says he doesn’t have it. He wants Serdar to leave him alone. Serdar asks him to call Yekta. Cuneyt says Yekta doesn’t come this early. And his phone isn’t on the list of priorities. Serdar keeps pushing.
Cuneyt is curious, what’s so important about the phone. Serdar says it has his contacts. Any in particular, Cuneyt asks. He says he’ll talk to Yekta and walks away.
When Cuneyt gets to his office, he notices his computer is missing. He calls the assistant. She says IT took it. He asks why, it was working fine. Sometimes they take them for updating, she replies, I’ll call and let you know. Cuneyt suspects something’s up.
Ceylin is at family court. She’s demanding that Yekta Tilmen’s assets, his personal accounts, and company assets be frozen. The clerk will send it to the judge. Ceylin calls Lacin to tell her she filed the suit and request. She thinks it looks good. Lacin is pleased. She’d love to see the look on Yekta’s face when he finds out. Ceylin reminds her that Yekta will make her life hell. She’s going to get a restraining order, too.
Eren calls Ceylin. They found the store. He’s trying to call Ilgaz but he’s not answering. He’s in a hearing. Ceylin says to send her the address.
Ceylin waits outside the courtroom. Yesim comes out and sneers, hurry, you’re running out of time.
Ceylin tells Ilgaz about the store. They go together.
Cuneyt asks about a scheduled meeting. When he shows up Yekta throws a file on Cuneyt’s chair. Yekta says he checked the records and saw that Cuneyt has never taken vacation days. I’ve been very demanding lately. To be productive, the staff needs to take breaks. I worry and care about my employees. I decided you don’t have to work on this case. Take a break. Cuneyt leaves.
Metin visits Cinar in prison. He tells Cinar he left money for him. Cinar asks about Defne. Metin says she’s anxious for an update. He says, the hearing is soon. The case is now being handled as self-defense. And they have another suspect. Have you remembered any other details?
Cinar says, no. You saw me when I got home, you went to the crime scene. The truth will come out, but I’m fed up. I say I don’t remember, and no one believes me. Maybe this is my fate. I hurt everyone. Look what I did to you.
Metin says not to think like that. Be patient. I chose what I did. I was about to retire anyway. Cinar has one more thing to ask. It’s hard for him to say. Don’t visit me anymore. I don’t want anyone to see me. If I’m cleared, fine. But if not, let’s say, that’s life. We’ll accept it. Cinar puts down the phone and goes.
Ilcey arrive at the store. Ilgaz shows his credentials and asks to speak to someone about an employee. The woman directs them to the owner. Ceylin shows a picture of the employee to the owner. The owner asks if there’s a problem. Ilgaz says they need to speak with him. What’s his name? Hakki, the owner replies.
The owner looks nervous and says he will get him. Ilcey gets suspicious. They take off after the owner. Ilgaz calls out to the owner and he runs. Ilgaz chases him.
And we are out.
Thanks so much, dondi. Yep, Ceylin sobs because Ilgaz didn't speak up and stop her from getting a divorce. By the time he ended up in that courtroom he probably realized she wasn't ever going to give an inch about hating his family, so he might as well go through with it.
The actor portraying Yesim is doing a good job of looking like a sociopath.
Eren is a prince. He doesn't take the opportunity to do to Ozlem what she did to him. He'd have an excellent chance, I think, of getting full custody because of her lying about Tugce's parentage and also forcing the girl to live in the same house with a brutal wifebeater. I'm pretty sure the one we saw a while back wasn't the only time. But Eren doesn't want to separate Tugce from her mother, only to be in her life.
Thanks for putting in the cut about Derya and Pars and the possibly poisoned food. That would have been amusing.
I hope we get a kiss between Pars and Derya before too long. It took FOREVER for that to happen between Ceylin and Ilgaz.
Computer crashed and I lost my recap draft. No luck in recovering it. My notes are on my laptop at home. I don't have the time for a redo, due to a very busy workday and I'll be home late. I don't expect anyone to step in at the last minute. We can still discuss the highlights.
I should be able to do the recap for Thurs and Friday but they will likely be late.
It would be easier if Telemundo would go back to 1 hour episodes.
So sorry.
Brief summary.
Ilgaz catches Haycut. He turns out to be the one using the false profile on a social platform to meet young women. Yasim used him to get the poison. He is not helping her.
Yekta receives notification of Lacin's lawsuit. He is furious.
For lack of leads to Yasim's accomplice, Ilcey try to review the case of her brother and they notice that Risa uses very similar car to what Yesim's brother used. They conclude that Cagdas wanted to kill Risa but by mistake killed the wrong person.
Merdan and his people find Serdar and bring him to Merdan's place. He scares him and lets him go because Ilgaz and then Pars and Eren come. By tracking him they realize he is looking for his phone.
Cuneit tells Ceylin that Yekta provoked Zafer to go after Cinar and that Serdar confessed that he killed Zafer by order of Engin. Ceylin is in shock.
Ilgaz thinks that Ceylin knows where Serdar's phone is and asks her if she has something to tell him. She calls Pars and Eren and tells them what Cuneit told her.
Cuneit and Ceylin look for Serdar's phone late in the evening in Yekta's office but can't find it. Yekta realizes the excuse Cuneit gave him to come to the office late was a lie and comes to the office to catch … and the episode ends.
Yekta, for some reason, doesn’t outright tell Cuneyt he’s fired. Is there something in Turkey about it taking days to let someone go and they don’t know the process is happening? Cuneyt goes to Bilgin, the HR guy Yekta told to get the dismissal moving. Bilgin confirms to Cuneyt that he’ll be out on his ear the following day. [I have had to dismiss an employee a couple of times, and I did it face to face.]
Yep, Yekta is scary furious about the divorce. He calls Lacin, who is light and pleasant on the phone but then refuses to take any more of his calls.
The cops get a video of Yasem walking and, I think, her father is there also. I couldn’t see it that well, but it proves the father is lying about her being in a wheelchair. We see Yasem meeting with her father. Cold as ice, she orders him to kill Ceylin.
Lacin is looking pretty and happy. She’s having dinner with a journalist. Yekta has found her and tries to play nice. “Will you be late, my dear?” She won’t play the game. Looking content she tells the woman that they’ll be getting a divorce. We keep on seeing his fists clenched. He doesn’t dare show the journalist or the whole restaurant Yekta Tilmen as he really is. She tells the journalist about Yekta’s emotional abuse.
Cuneyt is trying to tell Neva about why he put up with Yekta, sort of saw him as a father figure. He’s very ashamed. She tells him she’s proud he admitted his mistake and she’ll continue to love him.
Wonder if something was cut. Ceylin actually tells her mother that Cinar acted in self-defense. She says that they need to accept that Zafer intended to kill Cinar. The gun was his. Gul, of course, just stares stonily and accuses Ceylin of siding with “them”.
As Lucio wrote, Merdan and his guys have grabbed up Serdar. Serdar is shaking with fear. But the cop following Serdar tells Eren about what happened. Eren, Pars, and Ilgaz show up. Serdar is released. Merdan tells Ilgaz that Serdar killed Zafer and that the suffering of Metin and Ilgaz himself was caused by Serdar. I got the definite impression that Ilgaz knew what Merdan was going to do. He tells Eren and Pars that this was the “final touch”. The plan was to scare Serdar into making a mistake.
It looks like Merdan put some sort of tracker in Serdar’s pocket before he left.
At the table with Neva and Ceylin Cuneyt tells Ceylin that Engin was the one who told Serdar to kill Zafer. Serdar took the body from Metin’s trunk because Engin ordered it.
Serdar approaches the guy who was bullied into showing Yekta where the body was buried. Serdar wants that phone. This guy is now Yekta’s driver. Serdar threatens the guy (forgot his name) with the fact that there were some calls to him as well on that phone.
Cuneyt tells Yekta he needs to get his things from his office in the evening because his mother is in the hospital. Yekta orders the meek assistant to send flowers to the hospital.
Osman has car trouble. Yekta insists that he come into the office. He tells him about the divorce and that Ceylin wants to destroy him. He offers Osman the moon to find out what Ceylin is up to. Looks like Osman agrees.
Ilgaz tells Cinar about Serdar killing Zafer. He also tells him what we’ve all been screaming at our televisions for weeks now. “You should have never gone anywhere with Serdar!” Cinar rants some, then embraces Ilgaz. After a while, Ilgaz hugs him back.
And we do end with Yekta screaming at the young guard and rushing into Tilmen Law Firm. We see his look of astonishment when he opens the door to his office but not what he sees.
