Sonia was cracking me up today! She's afraid Leon is losing interest and is taking it like every good romance novel heroine would, with dramatic swooning!!

I missed a good part of today's episode due to a phone call. I might go re-watch tomorrow but I am watching football tonight so we will see. I don't remember a whole lot sticking out about the episode. Lillian threw a fit after seeing Marta and Brian kiss, that was amusing! She also threatened to kill Marta if she can't get her to leave, but that may have been a just rhetoric. I wonder if she killed her husband....

More David and Miguel fighting over Luci....yawn.

Oh, I remember something notable, Mark threatened Juan and told him he isn't a nice person when he doesn't get his way. I thought that was pretty interesting, it looks to me like Juan would win that fight, but maybe Juan is more of the let other people do my dirty work type, we know Mark is violent, at least towards women. And Ingrid did recognize Juan and Perla's voices but Leon didn't believe her and convinced her that she was hearing things because of anxiety. Too bad.
 

Vino. I'm hoping for some kind of confrontation between Mark and El Coyote. Juan seems to realize how dangerous El Coyote is, Mark not so much. I guess this isn't the type of novela in which characters get bumped off, but it would be nice to see Mark put out of commission or end up in jail. Brian seems to be doing his job by investigating all the wineries because of a tip-off of a ring of people smugglers bringing illegal vineyard workers into the country. I wonder what will come of that and whether Adolfo's or David's winery or both will get caught. Evidently David has a stellar reputation about getting workers work visas, but Juan seems to be undermining that, And is some epidemic on the way? The sooner the Luci, Miguel, David business is resolved, the better. At least Erika is a nice alternative for Miguel.
 

Vino. And it looks as if David will override Lilian's firing of Sonia. Good! Lilian showed how villainous she is--especially after all of Sonia's almost cloying loyalty to her.
 

On today's episode of Vino of nonsensical happenings, we learn that even after getting into a full on physical fight in the middle of a public square with plenty of witnesses, the threat of accusing another man of making some vague verbal threat is still enough to keep a battered woman at your side!!! Really? Tano might get 10-20 for threat making but Mark can beat Cesar down in public??? To my way of thinking, he just invalidated his trump card (if he ever had one) how seriously are the cops going to take you when you are re-accusing someone of threatening you, when you just got in a public brawl?? And Susan tries to keep Cesar from calling the cops? I hope he called and reports it and doesn't back down no matter what!!!


I guess there's something to say about Erika's honesty in telling Luci upfront she is willing to go after Miguel, it's better than being sneaky I suppose, but I still don't like it. And I don't understand Erika, she hardly knows Miguel and he's good looking enough I suppose but I don't see that they have some great connection worth going to war for....oh well, I suppose it adds drama. It was kind of cool how Luci thanked her for being honest.

More gratuitous shirtlessness and I laughed at Carito's face when shirtless Miguel poured that water all over himself!!! lol And then we get shirtless David later flirting with Luci again, even though they decided again today that they have to sacrifice their love again... I would think you'd get tired of the person simply because you were tired of having the same darn conversation over and over again!!!

Once again, Sonia is our ray of light! Our reason to smile and our comedic relief in her over the top hero worship of David saving her job. Plus she was hilarious in telling Bobby that Prince Charming does exist! Bobby was equally humorous in seeing grandma and responding that witches exist too!! :) They should have made this show about Sonia and titled it something like 'The Adventures of Sonia the Vineyard Maid!' I guess I can't just say, 'I'd watch that', since I'm watching this too, but I'd enjoy watching that more I think. I would love to have something just silly to watch. I really want to see a novela that makes fun of all the novela tropes. Like one character says some typical hyper dramatic line and instead of buying it hook line and sinker like normal, the counter character says something like: 'You know that's ridicolous, right?' Like all the parody movies they've done of various genres, I want a parody novela.
 

Vino. Loved your observations, Darcy, as well as your suggestion for a parody novela. I'd watch! Too bad a police officer didn't show up and arrest Mark for pummeling Cesar. The man is dangerous! I would only add that as usual Lilian shows how deeply villainous she is. Now, Brian no doubt deserves a comeuppance, but calling every single person she had asked to endorse him for sheriff and telling them he is crooked and a liar is just over the top! (some of it is possibly legally slanderous as well).
