Thank you, dondi356.
It was hard watching Ilgaz asking Defne about Parla and her lying to him. The lesson, Defne, is if it gets you out of trouble you should lie. And then Defne and Metin turn it around and accuse Ilgaz of always being angry. People lying to your face could do it. And where was Parla? Why couldn't Ilgaz find her at Metin's?
I don't really understand the point of the escape. I thought they were going to send her to Bosnia. Tugce spent some time in juvie and she is ok, but Parla couldn't spend 10 days.
Thank you for the song link.
Gracias, Dondi.
The angrier Ceylin gets with Ilgaz, the angrier I get with her. He has a right to his principles and he's not a hypocrite.
Lucio, ITA it's so wrong to teach Defne that lying is perfectly okay.
Derya had nothing to apologize for. Her job is not to grease the skids for Ceylin.
Thanks for the comments, Lucio and Niecie. I'll co-sign your posts.
Ceylin has been on my nerves from day one.
Free Ilgaz!
Quote for Turkish ep #50: "To stand upright, you don't know how many defeats, how many tears, how many heartaches it takes!" - Frida Kahlo
Judge Melek asks Ceylin to continue. Let’s go to that day on the terrace. As you saw, things got out of control. The participants acted violently, which, sadly, ended in the death of Serdar Denzi.
Yekta jumps up, objection! He died because Parla Yilmaz hit him in the head with a brick! So it seems, Ceylin replies, but I wonder if that’s the case. Did he die because of the first blow, a subsequent blow or the final blow? Yekta says that’s ridiculous. We saw the video. Parla Yilmaz killed him. The autopsy said he died from a blow to the head.
Ceylin asks to call a forensics expert to testify. The judge agrees to the request. The expert is Anil and he’s very nervous about testifying. If he makes a mistake, everyone will go to prison and half of them are kids.
Ceylin questions Anil. Could someone who had been hit multiple times die after an initial blow or after a final blow? And note there was no intention to kill. If he was hit multiple times there’s no way to know who gave the fatal blow. Anil agrees with this. [if you think I got this wrong, please comment.]
Yekta dismisses all this as a theory. Ceylin says this is a possibility that creates a reasonable doubt. She continues, the family here made a mistake. They were angry with Serdar because he killed a loved one. But they never intended to kill him. He died as the result of multiple blows. We don’t know who killed him. Furthermore, my clients attacked Serdar for their own protection—self-defense. I demand that Parla Yilmaz and the others be absolved.
Yekta stands again. How is any of this relevant? The judge is annoyed and tells him to be quiet. The judge has a question for Anil. We don’t see it. We see Ilgaz and Pars leave the courtroom.
Pars thinks that Ceylin did it, and the group will be absolved. Maybe not in this hearing, but in the next. They we can say it’s over. You’ll smile again. I’ll ask you to be in the wedding—you, Eren and Ceylin will be my witnesses. Ilgaz wishes everything depended on this decision and the result would be enough to erase what happened. Pars is disheartened by his response.
The judge gives her decision. The defendants won’t await trial in custody. Ilgaz and Pars hear the applause from the courtroom. Ilgaz walks away. The defendants hug each other. Ceylin sinks to her seat and cries. Omer stares at her. Yekta gathers his stuff. Eren tells Tugce she’s not in custody but she’s still pending trial. Merdan says the avukat gelin will help him, too. Parla apologizes to Merdan.
Tolga notes that Ceylin’s tears are not from joy. She leaves the courtroom. She walks down the hall with a paper that she takes to Ilgaz in his office. Let’s end this now, she tells him. Divorce papers. She leaves.
Song: Çok Eski Şarkı/Very Old Song - Şenceylik

Translation: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/cok-eski-sarki-very-old-song.html
We go to a search through a wooded area for a woman named Ferda. Apparently, she went missing from her wedding. A man (maybe Ferda’s dad?) yells at his crying wife (?), how many times did I tell you to stay with her! This is pointless. She was kidnapped! They took her because she was too stubborn!
It looks like Ferda, wedding dress and all, is floating lifelessly in water. The red ribbon from her wedding dress is tied around her ankle at one end and a drain at the other. The ribbon breaks loose and she floats to the surface.
Eren is driving. He makes a call to Ilgaz who is not near his phone. He leaves a message: Good morning, your vacation ends today. We got a report from Sile. A bride was found dead in the sea. We see Ilgaz jogging through the woods. Eren continues, we don’t have a missing person report yet. And we don’t know if the wedding took place recently. I wanted you to know we are at the scene.
Looks like Ceylin is in her office, in her bed, preparing for a case. An altercation at a championship celebration.
Ilgaz returns Eren’s call. He tells him to start by examining the scene. I’ll go home first, then stop at the courthouse. I have a hearing today. I know, Eren replies. Ilgaz says he won’t be long. He will come later. Eren responds, Allah yardımcın olsun (may God help you). Ilgaz answers, eyvallah (thanks).
Ceylin gets dressed while she continues to prepare her case. Aylin puts food in the refrigerator. It is already full with food that Ceylin hasn’t eaten. She mentions this to Tolga. Ceylin ignores them as she walks through the room, she’s focused on her case. Tolga notes that Ceylin looks nervous. Aylin reminds him the hearing is in a few hours.
Ceylin tells her staff that a football player got into a fight with the manager. He beat him up at a party. He’s the star of the team, the top scorer. He wants to leave the team even though he has a huge contract. He said he will never play on the team again. He doesn’t attend training, he’s never at the club. He’s ready to break things off.
Tolga asks, what does the club say? He can’t just walk away. He doesn't care, Ceylin replies, he made them champions, so they went along with his whims. But they will have to come to an agreement and that will force them to seek a mediator.
Tolga asks if that would be Ceylin. She says yes. I know the club’s secretary and since he recommended me… we have our first meeting in one hour. We’re going to make a killing. Come on, let’s go. Tolga is surprised they are not meeting at the office. Ceylin says that image is everything. She’s not working a million-dollar job in their little office. They will host the meeting.
Ceylin talks about buying a car. Tolga worries they are handling too many cases. Ceylin says if this is too much for him, he can leave. That’s not it, he replies, I don’t want you to wear yourself out. Some guy is watching them get in the car and drive away.
Gul calls Aylin and asks about Ceylin. Aylin says, she greets me and asks me to do things, but she won’t look at me. She doesn’t even call me sister. I think we should stop bringing her food, she’s not eating it.
Of course, Gul replies, we ruined her life. She’s right. Ceylin and Ilgaz’s hearing is today. How is she? Aylin replies, she’s not well. She is pouring her pain and anger into her work. She takes every case she can get. Gul is feeling guilty. It wasn’t easy to leave Ilgaz and it’s our fault.
Parla is leaving the house. Gul questions her. I thought you weren’t going to school today? She tells her grandma she’s going to study with Tugce. The same guy who was watching Ceylin is watching the Erguvan house. He watches Parla and Tugce walk down the street.
Derya comes to Pars’ office with the indictment for Berkhan’s murder case. I think I was too harsh she tells him and hands it over. He takes a look. Ah, he says, you also passed judgment. Life in prison. I realize this is an old resentment, she replies. As you know… Erhan was a journalist. He was also murdered.
Derya questions her objectivity because the victim was also a journalist. Pars acknowledges it’s a difficult situation. She says, it’s absurd I’m telling you this. It’s not my intention to upset or hurt you, but I need your guidance as my superior, fiancé, and friend. I don’t know who else to turn to. Pars thinks that’s fair and he will give his opinion. He sends her off with a kolay gelsin, aşkım.
Ceylin calls Eren. He tells her about the dead bride. Could be a murder or a suicide. Ceylin says to keep her in mind if she’s needed. Eren says, we always give your name when asked for a good lawyer. Ceylin asks, is he there? Eren replies, he’s on his way. She asks, did his vacation end? Eren answers, I don’t know if it did or if he’s choosing to self-destruct. It’s ok, she says, I don’t want him to blame me for getting the dates wrong.
Tolga asks Ceylin, is he back? They say so, she replies. She checks her phone. I think she’s looking for Ilgaz’s location. Tolga asks her if she’s okay. It’s not everyday you go through with a divorce. [it only seems that way in Ilcey’s case.] The hearing is at 11a and Tolga worries she won’t make it. We will, Ceylin replies, I have to do this today. Drive faster.
Merdan is fitted with an ankle monitor. He jokes about it replacing a ball and chain. The agents explain how the monitoring will work. Defne is disappointed that Merdan won’t be able to walk her to school.
Metin takes Defne to school as Ilgaz returns from his vacation. A small piece of happiness. Metin tells Ilgaz that grandpa is under house arrest now. Ilgaz credits it to Ceylin. She said she’d get Grandpa out and she did. She’s doing it for everyone but me.
Defne walks away so the men can talk. Are you okay, Metin asks. Ilgaz replies, I’ll be better after 11a today. This is over for me. No matter what, Metin says, I wish you the best.
Ilgaz enters the house and speaks with Merdan. He says this is better than being in prison. Merdan agrees. Thank God, I’ll get to take my last breath by your side. Ilgaz notes, now that you’re under house arrest, the avukat gelin talked you into getting treatment. You wouldn’t listen to us, but she’ll make sure you stick to the treatment plan.
Ilgaz needs to get ready for the hearing. He enters his house and all of Ceylin’s things are still there. He calls Metin. Ceylin hasn’t come to get her things? No, Metin answers, she never stopped by. We see that lurker who’s been spying on the others is now following Metin and Defne.
Ilgaz starts packing Ceylin’s stuff.
Ceylin and Tolga arrive at the meeting place. The others are late. Ceylin is ticked, she’s giving them 10 minutes. We’re here to work out a deal, she says, so they better not upset me.
The smell of Derya’s breakfast makes her gag. [is a little Pars on the way?] Pars enters her office. He asks if she’s okay. She tells him the smell of the eggs got to her. He takes the bag, it seems fine to him. He’ll eat it. He ties it up for later.
Derya asks if he read the indictment. He tells her, when you love someone, you love them, their past, and their secrets. I’m no different. I don’t want to separate you from what makes you, you. I’m glad you opened up to me, that you showed your inner self. It tells me how much you trust me. Thank you, she replies, you had every right to be upset. You could have said I think of my ex-husband.
I wasn’t offended, Pars says, when we lose a loved one, we don’t bury our feelings alongside them. I understand the love you feel for your late husband. I respect that. Plus, I can’t ignore the fact that you want to be fair despite your pain and anger.
Derya asks, so did I let my emotions get the better of me? Pars answers, your indictment was a way to punish Berkhan’s killer and those who silence journalists. You’re speaking for those who agree with you. Taking away the right to information is a violation of human rights. So, I don’t think your indictment was too harsh. It should serve as a lesson to everyone.
Derya hugs Pars and tells him, iyi ki varsin (it’s good that I have you). He tells her, I’m very lucky to walk this path with a woman like you. He says he asked Ridvan to upload the indictment. Derya is very emotional [and maybe pregnant].
Ceylin looks at her watch. The others still haven’t arrived. She’s ready to pack up and go, and here they come. She complains they are 22 minutes behind schedule and starts to explain what a mediator does. Are you in a rush, someone asks. I have a divorce hearing at 11 I’d like to get to, she replies.
Ilgaz gets ready to leave for court. I thought Ilgaz had a van? He rented a camper from some guy for his vacation? He tells the guy he’ll rent it again in the spring. That lurker is back again, watching Ilgaz this time.
Creepy Omer brings news that the indictment was filed in Berkhan’s case. He hands it to Yekta, who scans it and blows up. Life in prison?! Has she lost her mind?! He’ll go to prison for a crime he didn’t commit! He’s at the end of his life, he’ll surely die there. Yekta orders Omer to ask that incompetent, greedy, and lazy head of Homicide [for once, an opinion we can share with Yekta], if they have any other suspects.
Omer says they don’t have other suspects. Yekta tells him they will have to break the bad news to Haluk. They’ll do it together. Lacin appears at the office door. She has news of her own—the DNA results. Open it. Yekta calls this a private moment and he asks to open it alone. Can you wait outside?
Lacin and Omer wait at the reception desk. A woman comes over to them and asks, would you like something to drink while you wait? [Is that Ayten? It looks like her but I can’t be sure.] Lacin politely declines and she asks, are you new here? Yes, I started yesterday, she replies. Omer stares at her.
Yekta agonizes over opening the envelope. He takes a deep breath and prays, Lord… if you love me, please prove it.
And we are out.
Thanks for two excellent recaps, dondi.
I seem to be the odd person out about Ceylin and her family. And I found Ilgaz very heavy handed with his father.
Turkish courts in dizis are even more confusing to me than the ones in latino telenovelas. Yekta seemed to be acting as a prosecutor before the judge while Ceylin was mustering her arguments for the family members to be free. The judge finally admonished him. I suppose his reason for being there was that he bamboozled Serdar's mother into signing something making him her lawyer.
Then the family was overjoyed with the result, and I even heard "it's over". That's a whole lotta happiness considering there's still a trial to endure. But Ceylin certainly did a terrific job coming up with "reasonable doubt".
That guy spying on everyone in the cast sure gets around, doesn't he? Gotta be "Yekta!"
If I were Lacin, I'd never have left Yekta alone with the envelope. It even looked sealed. Is she going to trust him to tell the truth about the results?
Gracias, Dondi. So we have two new criminal cases. You cleared up my fog.
I pat myself on the back that I learned from watching La Hija del Embajador that the red ribbon is Turkish wedding tradition. So sad about the victim stricken on her wedding day.
Dizi and telenovela alike, the impregnated is always the last to know she's with child.
I wish Parla well, but I'm not getting the impression that she and the rest of her clan (aside from Ceylin) have learned from their mistake on not calling the police on Serdar. Everybody seems to feel they were a victim of circumstances.
Thanks for the comments and keeping the patio alive.
"I seem to be the odd person out about Ceylin and her family." Differing opinions are a good thing, novelera. I wish I could muster up more sympathy for them.
I'll go on the record, I get frustrated with Mr. Perfect, aka Stickman, aka Ilgaz Kaya at times. But it’s nowhere near the feeling I have for Ceylin and her family.
I’ve given up trying to figure out foreign court systems. The US system doesn’t always work so well either.
“I learned from watching La Hija del Embajador that the red ribbon is Turkish wedding tradition.” Yes, Niecie, TNs and dizis are educational. That’s why we watch, isn’t it?
“I'm not getting the impression that she and the rest of her clan (aside from Ceylin) have learned from their mistake... Everybody seems to feel they were a victim of circumstances.” I’m not so sure about Ceylin either, but ITA on the rest.
Yekta opens the envelope… Yekta is Omer Atamer’s bio father.
Outside, Lacin assures Omer that she will be with him, no matter the result. She adds, Yekta won’t forsake you either. He takes you everywhere now. Omer thanks her but he’s certain that Yekta is his bio dad. We are similar, he says, we are too much alike.
Yekta opens his office door and by the look on his face, Lacin knows the result. Welcome to the family, Omer, she says with a big smile. She holds out her hand to him. Omer looks uncomfortable and he awkwardly takes her hand. They enter the office. [the creep factor increases each time I see Omer.]
The team reps ask Aydin to be understanding and stay with the team. Try to compromise. Aydin states he is not wearing the team’s shirt this season. Ceylin says she needs to know why, so they can come to an agreement. Maybe the issue can be resolved. She doesn’t understand why he’s taking such a hard stance when things are going so well.
Ceylin wants to talk about the incident at the party. What caused the fight? Aydin’s lawyer says the fight isn’t the issue. Let’s focus on the aftermath, not the cause. Aydin is determined to leave the club, so let’s discuss the agreement. The team rep counters, you need a valid reason to leave. He has a contract!
Meanwhile, Aydin gets a call from a woman that he doesn’t take. Ceylin notices. Aydin’s lawyer says his decision is final. The team isn’t budging either. Aydin says, you want me to stay? It’s him (the manager) or me. You decide. The manager laughs. Aydin gets up from the table and leaves.
The manager complains, if you give millions to people who only play for a few days, they’ll think they’re amazing. Who does he think he is? The manager leaves the room. Ceylin tells the lawyers for both sides, if neither of your clients are present, it’s going to be very difficult to negotiate. Talk to your clients or we have to continue without them. Ceylin tells them to hurry. Tolga whispers to her that they will be late. Ceylin tells him to shut up or she’ll kill him.
Ilgaz arrives at the courthouse. He’s cheerfully greeted by Ridvan and Ozge. I guess they are happy he’s back. But Ilgaz just gives them a mournful look and knocks on Pars’ door. Pars welcomes him in. Ilgaz says, I will have tea with you, if you don’t ask me how I’m doing. Everyone’s been asking me that since I walked in. Pars understands.
Ceylin questions the manager with just his lawyer in the room. You really don’t know why Aydin hit you? He’s not talking, he just smirks and chews gum [very annoying.] I think you know, Ceylin says, why did he hit you? He’s a psychopath, the manager replies, why else? Ceylin tries again, you’re his manager, his superior. He was obviously very angry. Do you know why he was angry? The manager says it’s because they give him too much praise.
Aydin’s lawyer returns and says that Aydin has left the premises. The manager says, see, he’s running because he’s at fault. Ceylin says let’s continue. The manager won’t continue unless Aydin is there. He leaves. Ceylin asks the reps, will you ask for another meeting or should we conclude you can’t come to an agreement? The reps want to keep trying. Ceylin sets another appointment as she quickly packs up.
Ceylin makes a call to the court. I’m running 10 minutes late. Please let them know. Tolga says she’s not going to make it. She bites his head off and asks for the keys to his car.
Pars tells Ilgaz he spoke to Eren. The bride was recovered from the sea. The wedding was canceled but no one called the police. According to her relatives, everyone left the venue and called her a runaway bride. We don’t know if this is a murder or a suicide case. You’re in charge, you can visit the scene after your hearing.
Ilgaz says he’ll go and figure it out. Pars continues, I told Eren, people get sensitive before a wedding. The bride dies on the wedding day… Pars tugs his ear and knocks on the table… I just don’t understand how they can experience such pain on such a happy day. Maybe it’s just fate, Ilgaz replies, and there’s no changing it.
Pars says, we talked about this, but as you know, my wedding is quickly approaching. We’d like you to be our witness. Ilgaz answers it’s his pleasure and honor. Pars says that Eren is also a witness, but they’d like to have Ceylin as a witness, too. Ilgaz replies, it’s a wedding. It makes no sense to have a conflict there. Like you said, we are celebrating your happiness. It’s not a problem for me. [I’d worry about Crazy Ceylin.] Pars thanks him.
Derya enters Pars’ office and is surprised to see Ilgaz. She welcomes him back. He’s in a rush, he’ll talk to her later. Derya notes that Ilgaz is not well. Pars says his divorce hearing is today. Derya asks, isn’t there a way to save the situation? Pars replies no, he even took off his ring. He’s getting divorced in a half hour.
Ilgaz walks to the Aile Mahkemesi (Family Court). He looks at his watch and then down the hallway.
Ceylin is blocked by someone parking their car. She tells Tolga, after the courthouse, go to the club and find out if there are other recordings. If we can make a deal, we’ll make a lot of money. Talk to the wait staff, the band, anyone who can give us more information.
Tolga asks, why collect evidence if we are mediators? We are taking things too far. I’m Ceylin and these are my methods, she replies. The road clears and they start driving again.
Ceylin finally makes it to the courthouse.
Yekta and Omer meet with Haluk. They let him read the indictment. Yekta says, the DA is asking for life imprisonment for premeditated murder, but this is baseless. Yekta asks, give me one reason, one single reason to save you. Tell me the truth. You don’t have to tell them anything. Did you kill the reporter? Omer is staring at Haluk [I don’t know, this gave me a feeling that Omer could’ve killed the reporter.]
Haluk remains silent. Yekta says, we’ll mitigate the damage and ask them reduce the sentence. We’ll say you were provoked and that you’re remorseful. That he would have attacked you first. Self-defense. There’s always something, but I can’t help you without knowing the facts. We won’t get anywhere if you keep saying “I didn’t do it”.
Haluk interrupts, listen Yekta! I’ve run out of ways to say it. When I went into his house, he was already wounded. He was dying! I didn’t do it! Alright, Yekta replies, tell me, did anyone else enter the apartment? You’re not leaving me room to make a case! You were caught cleaning up the scene! Haluk repeats, I didn’t do it! That’s my last word. Do your job! Find the murderer or get out of my sight! There are a million other lawyers out there. You can be replaced. Omer continues to stare [is this guy human?] Haluk leaves.
Yekta tells Omer, it’s important that we find whoever killed the reporter. It’s the only way to save this ingrate. We’ll start at the beginning and analyze everything. We’ll find someone and cast suspicions on them.
Omer asks, didn’t you notice? He takes off his glasses and cleans them. You were saddened by his threats and how he underestimated you. His overall attitude. How he roamed the office as if it were his own. Omer continues to clean his glasses and says matter of factly, I wanted to put you at ease. [uh, oh]
Yekta looks at Omer with some alarm—what? What did you do? Omer puts his glasses on. He says, there’s no such thing as a coincidence. I believe people meet when they’re meant to meet. I do… Dad. Maybe Yekta should be worried.
Selcuk calls Aylin. [She still calls him Cetin! Anyway, who knows what his real name is.] She’s been trying to reach him. He tells her he’s been busy working. She understands, but she needs to know about the house. Soon everyone will know that it’s been sold. Weren’t you going to buy a portion of it?
Don’t worry, Selcuk replies, I’ll take care of it. I’ll get the money. My job in Ankara took longer than expected. It’s a very serious mission. She’s worried, what am I going to do? He answers, you said you’d been given a portion of the money, use that to buy some time. I’ll give you the rest later.
There’s nothing left, Aylin says, I used it to pay Parla’s tuition. If I’m asked for it, I’m doomed. I need more money. He keeps telling her to relax and he’ll take care of it. [I don’t get this, how much money did she give him? What did she get for the house?] He also tells her he won’t be able to talk to her for a while.
We see that Selcuk is having lunch with a woman. He’s lying to her, too. He gives her a beautiful diamond necklace and a BS story. I was going to sell it and give you the money but… it belonged to my mother. It’s an heirloom. I didn’t have the heart to pawn it. The woman puts it back in its pouch and says, I can’t accept it, Cetin. He tells her to accept it. Long story, short, he’s scamming this woman, too.
Ilgaz is at the bride scene. He asks about the ribbon on her ankle. Eren says it seems she tied herself to a weight, so she’d sink, but the knot came undone. Anil says she was underwater for about 12-14 hours. She probably drowned.
Eren thinks of course she drowned, her body was in the water. I wouldn’t be so sure, Anil replies, there wasn’t a lot of water in her lungs. Plus, I noticed bruises on her face, neck and body. I can’t say if they were caused by the fall or if they were already present. Could she have been killed and dumped, Ilgaz asks. Anil says it’s too soon to say but he has a feeling about this.
Goksu tells Ilgaz the divers found a cell phone. An officer says it looks like a large vehicle came here. Ilgaz asks Eren for any other clues. Just the tire tracks, the phone, and the bride, he replies. Ilgaz asks if they spoke to the bride’s family. Eren says they sent a team to notify them. The family will be taken to the station for the ID. Ilgaz says to call the groom and his family, too. Let’s check the wedding venue.
Ceylin returns to the office. She’s got angry worms. She ignores Aylin. She takes off her coat, throws it down, and stomps off to the kitchen. Aylin follows her and tries to talk with her. Ceylin dumps food she bought in a bowl and spills some on the floor. Aylin tells her there’s food in the fridge. Ceylin angrily eats.
Aylin asks about the hearing. Ceylin turns on her, no sister! We haven’t gone through with it yet! You haven’t won yet, but I’ll let you know when you do! I’ll tell you myself! Get out of the way! Ceylin takes the dishes from the refrigerator and hands them to Aylin. Take them! I don’t want them! You can prepare and eat your own food. I don’t want your food. I want nothing from you. She eats what she brought home.
Derya and Pars shop for his wedding suit. They find a nice one. She calls it timeless. That makes him think. If we have a son… I’d like him to wear this suit someday. If a bride can wear her mother’s gown, maybe my son will choose to wear my suit. I’ll get this suit, Pars says, I think my son will wear it. [yep, baby Pars has been loaded.]
Ilgaz calls Pars with an update. He shares it with Derya. A bride was found dead. Her ankle was bound. The weight is at the bottom of the sea. Maybe this is not suicide. Derya wonders if she tied it herself. Pars replies, whether she wanted to die or was killed, some people made her life impossible. Was she meant to be buried in the wedding gown she wore at such a young age? I’ve had enough of this.
Derya is visibly affected, and Pars worries. He’s sorry he told her. She says she’s okay. He wonders, when did you become so sensitive?
Ilgaz and Eren arrive at the wedding venue. Eren says, the team was there to investigate but since the people left early the clean up began. They have another wedding scheduled. Eren asks Ilgaz if he just came from the courthouse. On one hand I want to ask how it went, but on the other, I shouldn’t ask. Ilgaz replies, let’s get to work. Then he apologizes and says, Ceylin didn’t make it to the hearing.
Flashback to 18 hours earlier.
The wedding is gearing up to start. Guests are arriving, music is playing. The father of the bride tells the mom the officiant is here, he’ll be ready in 10 minutes. He asks, who is with the bride? Aunt Sultan said she’d stay with her.
There’s a couple at a table. The man asks, how is the girl? The woman waves her hand and shakes her head. A minute later, this man tells the woman, what is that on your shoe? She wipes dirt off her shoe. The bride’s father comments on this couple, look at how he watches over your sister. [I guess this will become important.]
The mother goes to get the bride. She knocks and enters the room. It’s been tossed. The bride is gone. The mother panics.
And OMG! Guess who shows up at the wedding? It’s Fake Cetin Selcuk, who is greeted by the bride’s father. [the plot thickens!]
Mom tells Dad that Ferda is missing. Cut to everyone rushing out of the wedding venue to search for Ferda.
Back to the present. Ilgaz and Eren meet with Rahmi, the venue manager. Ilgaz wants to see the bridal room. Eren says the bride got ready here and when the mother came to get her, she was gone. Word got out she was kidnapped. The venue was examined, and the search began…
Rahmi interrupts, our team did a thorough search of the woods. Eren picks up, when they couldn’t find her, they thought she ran away. Why, Ilgaz asks, she didn’t want to get married? Rahmi and Eren say at the same time, we don’t know. They are both getting annoyed at Rahmi.
The men walk through the hallway. Ilgaz asks, does this lead to the woods? Yes, Rahmi replies, sometimes brides walk this way so the guests don’t see them. Ilgaz asks if the bride or groom seemed tense or angry. Rahmi says no. They seemed like two normal families. Everything was ready and paid in advance.
Ilgaz notices a camera on the building. Rahmi goes over what happened. The bride was missing, they searched. The bride’s family became upset and started flinging insults. Then my team took over. Ilgaz wants to review the camera recordings. Rahmi looks concerned.
Rahmi says the security cameras are broken and there are no cameras in private rooms. Eren and Ilgaz ask about cameras in the hallways and outside. Nothing. Rahmi says the camera by the main entrance works. Ilgaz is very upset to hear these cameras are not working. We need the recordings. What will we do now?
Ilgaz sees that there’s a wedding taking place soon. He tells Rahmi to have all the cameras up and running by then. Rahmi sputters…but… Ilgaz says he’ll send a team to check. He’ll have the event canceled if they find security issues. Rahmi panics. It won’t be ready in time. Will the wedding take place with officers around? Then get it done by tonight, Ilgaz replies. Ilgaz walks.
Rahmi begs Eren, who is ticked about the non-functioning cameras, too. Eren asks about the wedding photographer and asks for his number. Eren tells Ilgaz and Ilgaz tells Eren to have the photog bring his footage to the station.
Eren calls Ceylin. There’s a family that needs a lawyer. We found a bride’s body in the sea at Sile. They were taken to the station to do the ID. They were asked if they had a lawyer and they asked where they could find one. This is an awful case. Can you help them? Ceylin says she’s on her way. Oh, there’s one thing… Eren says, you’re still married to Ilgaz. He’s handling the case. The rules say you can’t work the same case as him. What can we do? Ceylin says it’s fine.
Ceylin calls Tolga. He’s at the club where Aydin had the incident. It doesn’t open until 4 and he’s waiting. She tells him to forget about that and go to the station. We have a new case.
Aysun tells Ayten to bring coffee and water to the conference room. Yekta and Omer return to the office. Ayten asks Yekta, would you like your coffee with lactose-free milk, now or later? He looks surprised and says, I’ll take it now. Omer does his staring thing.
Yekta asks Aysun how Ayten knows about his coffee. I told her, Aysun replies. Yekta is pleased that Ayten catches on quickly. [I want to know why Ayten is working at Yekta’s firm. Merdan?] Yekta asks Aysun to prepare the empty office for Omer. He can decorate it and personalize it himself. Evil Robot Omer has no reaction, except to scratch his neck.
And we are out.
Thanks for the terrific, detailed recap, dondi! Plots are thickening everywhere.
OK, some of my sympathy for Ceylin definitely waned during this episode. Her life has been rough lately, we get it. But she's treating sweetie-pie Tolga like crap now. And she should either fire Aylin or treat her as a normal boss should. And scheduling that mediation so close to her divorce hearing was poor time management at the very least.
ITA about Omer during the meeting with Haluk. I had exactly the same feeling that he might have been the one who killed Berkhan, and even before that cryptic conversation with Yekta.
Hmmm. Bad genes? We saw how Engin got to be so warped. But Omer didn't grow up with Yekta and get denigrated by him all the time.
The whole money/Aylin/Selcuk thing confuses me. I thought she gave him that bag of money as the "down payment on the passport for Parla". We saw her beg the agent for the money. Now she tells Selcuk she used the money for Parla's school fees.
During that scene with Selcuk and his new "victim", she eventually accepted the necklace he said was his cherished heirloom from his mother. But she gave him something valuable. Was it a credit card...a car. Can't remember. The necklace is probably a fake.
Are we dealing with a forced marriage in Ilgaz's newest case? And is this venue somehow "forced bride central"? The security cameras not working and the manager's panicky reaction to being grilled about it sent my mind there. In that flashback it was hard for me to tell who was who. Was the domineering man the bride's father or almost father-in-law?
I have been thinking a bit about hair in dizis. Ceylin has had hers back in a severe ponytail since things blew up with her family and with Ilgaz. When Prosecutor Derya was introduced, her hair seemed to be in a bun most of the time. Now, even at work, we see free flowing long hair.
Yep, these hints about "baby Pars" are even more broad than the ones in telenovelas.
Again, thanks so much for such a thorough recap!
Gracias, Dondi.
Lacin doesn't notice that Omer is creepy because she has stars in her eyes about having a family. But Yekta, what does he make of Omer? Maybe he thinks one day Omer will be useful as a scapegoat for his dirty dealings? Or maybe Omer turns the tables and is more than Yekta bargained for?
Ilgaz and Ceylin are driving me crazy. Could she not have sent him a text that she was running late?
I can't see a bride, no matter how distraught, committing suicide in that way.
Loved Ilgaz getting into the banquet owner's case about the security cameras not working. Ilgaz deserves a case where there's no one in his extended family involved. But, oh-no, there's Aylin's fake boyfriend at the wedding.
