ETERNAMENTE AMANDONOS #91 Page one

Notes from the couch . . . The little bit of this and that edition

1. Martina is excited to be going home to Villa Morelia. She is surprised to find out that Gabriel purchased all of the furnishings when she had to give up her home, and now has refurnished the house just as it was.

2. Eva meets with Cass and praises Fidel to no end. Cass brings up going out with Ignacio and knowing that Fidel works with the Iturbide brothers, she doesn't want that to affect their friendship. Eva says it won't but brings up that Ignacio's ex is Cecilia who has been Paula's bestie since they were little kids. She and Paula are her family. Cass tells her it is best to handle things carefully.

3. Rogelio suggests to Paula that they move out to their own home. She refuses saying the house is for the whole family. Once you move in, you never leave. He laughs saying "Like mother-in-law, like daughter-in-law" She could be the new monarca of Morelia.

4. Fernando complains several more times about how he just doesn't understand why his mother at her age would get married, etc. etc. He is a real wet rag in this episode.

5. Fidel tells Rogelio and Fernando that they have been given their company back. They have no debt. Now is the time to invest everything in getting their company started again. They have buses that are going to need repairs. They need to think how to get clients back who went over to Ignacio. Fidel tells Rogelio and Fernando that they can start operations any time they want.

6. Martina meets with the servants and thanks them for everything they did for her family. Honorio says they are family. Martina adds that as such, they will always help each other out. She is going to give Felipa cribs for both of the babies.

7. Violeta barges in telling Rogelio that she is there to take care of some pending issues. She needs to make some bank payments. Fidel tells her that those can be made online, here or at JJ's company. Fidel goes to leave but Rogelio makes him stay. Rogelio tells her that now everything will be done from the Iturbide Company. He will be in Morelia and JJ will be in Mexico City at his company. He will fill JJ in at their next meeting. Violeta will confirm when that will be with JJ and get back to him. She makes him visibly uncomfortable. She leaves. All Fidel can say is hmmm.

8. Martina tells Lucas that now Maraca will have a garden to play, eat, and sleep in. Lucas thinks it is too cold outside for him to sleep. Martina says Maraca can choose inside or outside.

9. Violeta tells Rogelio that JJ is ready to meet tomorrow. He is flying in from Mexico City. It is decided that they will meet at 10:00 at Rogelio's house. Violeta stands way too close to Rogelio one more time but Rogelio says nothing.

10. Rogelio pays Ignacio a visit to tell him that he will make sure that he gets his share of the property they are selling as well as pay him back for Villa Morelia. Ignacio says there is no need. Rogelio brusquely tells him, he just wants them to be at peace and leaves. Ignacio doesn't believe him.

11. Cecilia thanks Ignacio for returning La Villa to Martina. He starts to harp on Rogelio but then tells her that from now on he wants to be a good example for his child. She is pleased that being a father makes him want to change.

12. Gabriel comes over to Martina's. Even Andrea is there. He tells them all that he has loved Martina forever. He asks Martina for her hand in marriage is in front of everyone. She says yes. Rogelio welcomes him to the family. Fernando tells him he better take care of Martina like the treasures she is. Luis says they can always count on him. Marco acts like an *ss one more time and tells Gabriel that he better not take Martina away from their family or he will have to deal with him. Gabriel laughs and says he is so afraid.

ETERNAMENTE Page two

13. Fidel sees a text arranging a meeting from C on Eva's phone and thinks it is from a guy. He tracks her down and has a vision where a man is running to her but when he returns to reality, he is really seeing a figure in a black suit with a fedora on with their back to him talking to Eva. We see it is Cass but she looks like a guy from the back.

14. Rogelio is eating breakfast with Paula when JJ arrives for his meeting along with Violeta. Paula asks if they would like some coffee. Violeta says she would like hers with almond milk. Paula sets her straight: they have normal milk, normal sugar and coffee. Tea? When Micaela brings them some eggs to eat, Violeta says she is allergic to eggs. JJ says to bring her toast. She asks for gluten free bread. Micaela is like what???

15. Violeta is introduced to Imelda and Imelda pretends not to get her name straight twice just to aggravate her.

16. Rogelio has proposals for JJ. First, JJ should get rid of his new offices in Morelia and move them to the Iturbide Company. JJ likes that. Second, now that all of their funds have been restored, Rogelio would like to become partners with JJ and form one corporation. JJ likes the idea but needs to think about it. Rogelio tells JJ that he is a great businessman and a wonderful friend. Rogelio will never forget when he extended his hand in friendship to him when he needed it most. JJ later decides to become partners with Rogelio.

17. Paula agrees to help Lucas out be talking to Regina's father Ricardo so she can come visit. Lucas hopes that they never move again. He doesn't want to leave his friends all alone. Paula tells him he is the fountain of her courage and her strength. She loves him. He loves her, too.

18. JJ makes an odd comment to Imelda seeing her at the breakfast table. He comments on how fit she is after all she has been through. okay . . .

19.. Beatriz tells the foundation ladies that Martina suffered a health crisis. Her memory went and she didn't know where she was. She asks them all not to mention that to anyone because it could affect her daughter Imelda. Sure . . .

20. Martina and Blanca try to talk Marco to go back home to live. He wants to be independent. He has to think about it and talk to Rogelio and Fernando.

21. Paula and Ulises talk about recording her songs. They work with one of is arrangements of her songs.

22. Eva convinces Paula that Martina needs a bachelorette party.

23. Mariana is back as Rogelio's secretary. Violeta introduces herself as a partner and the liaison between the Mexico City and Morelia offices. She gives Mariana a list of things she wants done like yesterday.

24. Violeta is in Rogelio's office standing over him at his desk showing him lists of schools who sue bus services. He is clearly uncomfortable but says nothing again. When they are done talking , he tells her to talk to Fidel so she can pick out her office. She wants to be right outside of his office so she can be there for whatever he might need. . He doesn't think she would have much privacy but it is her choice (really???) On her way out, she runs into him with her omnipresent cup of coffee and it spills done the front of his shirt. She tries to dry him off when Paula walks it asking WHAT is going on???

That is it for me tonight. Please feel free toads anything I left out.

ETERNAMENTE

Jarifa, while some of tonight’s events seemed rather serene on the surface, your superbly written recap perfectly reflected several undercurrents of potential turmoil.

“Rogelio suggests to Paula that they move out to their own home. She refuses saying the house is for the whole family. Once you move in, you never leave”. Can all of these disparate individuals and couples truly find peace and happiness living harmoniously as one big happy family under the same roof?

Marco has been acting like a petulant brat. I understand why he doesn’t want to move back in, he and Blanca are young and should be out on their own. I am just worried it is something else, something deeper.

Martina draws Micaela, Honorio, Felipa and Meliton into the circle of her heart and continues to build her relationship with Lucas by fervently supporting Maraca who can live and sleep inside or out.

Cecilia still seems a bit vulnerable around Ignacio. I hope he is sincere about wanting to change. Cassandra and Eva’s friendship is going to be difficult to navigate and Cass was right to tell Eva “it is best to handle things carefully”. I was a bit startled to see the framed picture of Cassandra and Ignacio at his home; it seemed a bit surreal.

I had to smile at Cass’s masculine outfit when she met with Eva. Cassandra, who wears the most feminine and often frilly clothes really stepped out of her comfort zone. Fidel panicking had me shaking my head.

I liked Rogelio calling Fidel back into the conference room when he saw he’d be alone with Vi. The more she kept trying to touch him and be right up in his personal space, the more he tried to move away from her. I couldn’t believe when Vi called Adriana the wrong name and when she corrected her, Vi said it wasn’t important!!

I enjoyed Vi and Imelda’s little verbal sparring. Vi honey you are out of your league! 😊 I didn’t understand what JJ said to Imelda but thank you for explaining “he comments on how fit she is after all she has been through”. Hmm, does he have a bit of inappropriate interest in Imelda? It must run in the family. Whatever, Imelda was cool and politely dismissive.

Vi’s clumsiness with the coffee was so obvious; I wish Paula had just rolled her eyes instead of seemingly becoming upset.

Martina’s white silk pleated front blouse was lovely as were her pearls.

So much for everyone wishing Rogelio got his company back. He did and proceeded to make JJ his partner. It seems to me Rogelio isn't trying hard enough to push Violeta away. This is what I always disliked about him: he is not proactive when it's something that affects Paula and their relationship. He'll just say it was nothing if she brings it up but when Ulises was around, Rogelio was insufferable and made all kinds of demands. It's like it matters when he himself is affected or angry, but with V is no big deal because 'he doesn't think it is and it is the only truth that can exist'. I thought businessmen also knew how to be firm, not just how to nigotiate and 'play nice'. Rogelio is uncomfortable but maybe not enough to do something about it? Now he is stuck with her. I cannot believe it. And why does he all of a sudden want to move out?
Oh and thanks for telling us what Violeta told to that other girl because I didn't catch it and got annoyed with myself again. It's overwhelming for me to watch her, especially as I can't avoid it due to Rogelio not avoiding her. Can't he really put his foot down? Why? It's not like JJ will refuse to be his partner if he tells him that he doesn't want V near him. I still can't believe a person can invent stuff in their head because that's what she's doing if she thinks he'll eventually fall in love with her because what she told that friend of hers about Paula being controling is nonsense. Is she really mentally stable?

Minas

My highlights for #23 will be up shortly. I'm finishing them up!

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 23 Highlights Part 1/2

Leo still can't believe Mau is Nico's father, he says he payed for the test. Mau tells him to go ask Emi about it.

Mau tells Roberta that Emi will forgive him and they'll be a family all together. Uh, this wouldn't happen even in the craziest of novelas, dude.

Emi and Seb hug as she says Mau told her he abused her back then. This seems to be too much for Tigre, who has a heart attack and falls right next to them. They (Emi, Zaira, Gael, Tigre + Seb) share a nice family moment on his hospital bed when he wakes up.

Nico's body didn't reject the blood; he's getting better. Emi tells Seb she's scared Roberta will do something to get custody of Nico.

Roberta pretends to be shocked about Nico's paternity test results. She lies to Leo that she knew Emi had a relationship with Mau, but she didn't agree with it and she "couldn't" tell Leo, what?! Although she "didn't know about Nico's paternity".

Adalberto and Míriam continue kissing and he swears he'll divorce Berta and marry her. They go inside. Berta, still wearing these hideous clothes, cries and screams so loudly that it's impossible she went unheard, but because this is a telenovela, Adalberto and Míriam don't hear this.

Jenny is still crying and Orlando is still comforting her when Sara knocks on the door. She gets in (Orlando left from the window, I think) and Jenny tells her about Mau being Nico's father. Sara is happy because she can tell Leo and he'll break up with Emi. Geez. Berta comes in and continues crying, she's says she's not okay. Jenny and Sara have a "welp here we go again" look.

Emi and Seb have a looong scene together. They talk about justice. At this point of the novela? Yeah, sure.

Leo is feeling blue as Joaquina and Marijó pour some sponsored milk, which reminds me that in the previous episode, when Joaquina opened the fridge, there were like 53 cartoons of milk in there. I burst out laughing. Is she one of these people in 2nd grade math problems? But anyway, moving on. Sara comes in to drag Leo away because they have "work". Suuureee.

Berta has found the perfect solution to her problem; instead of kicking Adalberto's sorry butt out, she... exercises to stay fit? I somehow miss the connection.

Leo is in a bad mood with Sara too and she says "so you know". She pretends everyone knew about Emi's relationship with Mau, they just didn't know about the kid.

Later Sara is walking all happy when Danilo finds her and tries to seduce her. It's working, kinda, until she hits him with her bad full of green apples and leaves. Danilo grabs an apple and takes a Draco Malfoy worthy bite.

Tigre tries to get Zaira to return again. They're interrupted by Emi and Seb, who come to see if he's okay.

Leo is talking with Orlando, who's also not shocked about the relationship (¿qué?) but shocked about the kid.

Roberta tells Mau that La Cueva del Diablo must make them very rich. It's not in the will, Ignacio wanted to give it to Emi. But they have an advantage; Emi doesn't know this and never will.

Ramiro (the annoying miner) is bullying his kids (no wonder one of them bullied Nico) and being trashy to his wife.

Roberta tells Mau that if something happens to Emi, Nico inherits la Cueva del Diablo. Mau asks her if she'll do something to Emi; she claims she won't, she wants her and Tigre on her side and screams at Mau (who, btw, STILL thinks Emi will forgive him) for making this harder.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 23 Highlights Part 2/2

There was a scene in which Tigre apologised for being an annoying egoist- I mean, for thinking the worst of Emi when she got pregnant.

Tigre tells Emi and Seb that Zaira broke up with him because she defended Emi on the Leo issue. Emi finds this moving and they finally have a good relationship. After they leave, Tigre asks Zaira why didn't she tell him about Emi getting raped.

Leo has arrived at Emi's house to see Nico, who asks him to call him "hijo". Emi comes and they go outside to talk.

Tigre screams at Zaira for keeping this a secret; she said it was something personal of Emi's and she didn't tell him because she knows what he's like. Tigre says he'll kill Mau; she's confused and he replies that Mau raped Emi. Zaira is shocked.

Marijó goes to find Gael, who unfortunately gets the galán paralysis (who seems to be contagious nowadays) when some girl kisses him TWICE. Marijó sees this. Gael sees her and goes to explain, he says he loves etc but Marijó leaves. Oh well, can you blame her?

Leo asks Emi why she hid Mau is Nico's father from him. After some back and forth ("forget about me" "I can't, I love you") Emi tells him that she didn't tell him because she didn't know; Mauricio Santamaría, his brother, drugged her at a party and raped her. (I'm happy she told him. I thought we'd get 50 episodes of Emi not telling him.)

And with Leo's shocked face and Emi full of tears, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

ETERNAMENTE

They also made a comment last night that they were going to keep the rapid messenger service as part of the corporation.

Diana, thanks. JJ’s odd comment was something like Imelda was strong and fit after all that had happened to her but what was almost more interesting to me was that he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Hmmm. . . Might he give the eternally moody Fernando a run for his money? I would love it. Too bad Violeta isn’t interested in Fernando. I can see why she drives Paula crazy. Loved Paula giving her the “regular” options at breakfast.

waterlily, “Is she really mentally unstable? I will say yes! Rogelio now has been surprised by Violeta officially at least one too many times. He could have easily assigned her an office far away from his but instead gave her a choice. Not smart. There is a lot he could do before having to talk to JJ ,who seems to worship her, again.

OT/Vencer la Culpa

I saw somewhere that Vencer la Culpa will start "muy pronto" in Univisión... I hope it's not as "pronto" as the last time they said it...

Eternamente

I didn't get a chance to watch yet and I have meetings all day but I'll get caught up tonight! Thanks Jarifa, for the recap! It's probably better then watching the episode anyway! :)

Tierra – (Part 1 of 2) Today’s notes are grouped together by conversation and are not necessarily in the order shown on the episode.

Norma runs to Remedios for help in getting her precious Clemente back home. She is oddly convinced that if she can find out who Valentina and Regina’s father is – or indeed if they have 1 father or 2 – that will somehow prove that Rutilio didn’t rape Bernarda!!! (In what universe?) She tries demanding that Remedios tell her everything, but Remedios refuses of course, it’s not her place to tell all about Bernarda’s life. Norma wants to confront Bernarda, but she realizes she wouldn’t tell her anything which will hopefully dissuade her because if your husband is a rapist; you don’t go around demanding answers from his victims!!! Bad look! Later Norma tries to get Clemente to stay as he tries to get her to leave, but they are at an impasse, he’s off to Mexico City (I think) and she’s crushed, how will she ever find him there? Clemente looks like he feels sorry for her, that makes one of us!

Trejo, who would have been a better parent for Clemente, is trying to help Clemente gather money to live on so he gives his paintings to Grim to sell. He asks for an advance but Grim doesn’t do advances, so he later lies to Clemente saying he was given an advance and he gives him all the money in his wallet! Now, Clemente has something to live on for a few days.

Esteban runs off to give Rutilo the riot act, which was fun to watch but not very wise considering: a) Rut is a ruthless SOB and who knows what he will do and b) Este is still recovering from heart issues and the upset clearly had a negative effect on the ticker!!! But Este does get all up in Rut’s face and tell him that if he doesn’t do his job, Este will see him in jail! When he leaves seething, he runs into Remedios and just when I’m thinking it’s weird these two don’t know each other, they suddenly recognize eachother and the reunion is as warm and friendly as you’d expect. Later, Este is back home and over objections from Nani who wants him to take a pill – literally – and relax, he calls some dude named Hector who works with the governor to tell him that Rut is the worst public servant EVER!

The worst news tonight is that Regina DID go to visit Adriana!!! I was too horrified to pay close attention but Adri showed her around and gave her the hard sale on the how to be an independent woman lifestyle! She did tell her it would probably include courses on the other side of the border, but she didn’t mention they were stripping 101 classes. Adri advised Regina she doesn’t need mommy’s permission because she’s grown and told her that she would see her back there in the morning to start her new life!!! NO!!!!! Later, Regina is packing, and Bernarda sees her, she tells mommy she’s just organizing her closet! It doesn’t look like Bernarda believes her, but she doesn’t call her on it.

Tierra PT 2 – Today’s notes are grouped together by conversation and are not necessarily in the order shown on the episode.

Marco and MT go on a little ride around the hacienda which Bernarda isn’t happy about. After they return and MT goes off, Marco tries to make a move on Bernarda but he is rejected out of hand. Bernarda is obviously jealous as he points out but she tells him to just leave her alone and go after the vulnerable MT. Marco says she still feels something for him, but she says what she felt for him died when he proved he wasn’t man enough to fight for their love with his father!?! This shakes Marcos to his core, but Bernarda tells him not to fool himself, he still isn’t man enough. Later we see a nearly shaking Marcos, remembering Bernarda’s words. Looks like Marco is indeed still scared he isn’t man enough!

After leaving Marco at the stables, MT goes out into the fields to see how things are going and it turns into the love fest where everyone is thanking everyone for everything! Kind of cute, but the best part is all the amused and not amused looks on Vale’s face as MT and Santos have an ‘you’re the best’ ‘no, you’re the best’ conversation as he’s getting ready to leave with the product. The only thing that makes this image better is Esteban showing up to put a arm around his beloved daughter and then wrap Vale up in the other arm for good measure! Este looks please, MT and Vale a little confused (Darcy just wonders, is this a family picture???)

Cris goes to ask Geno to the employee party the next day and she agrees but just when he’s excited, she adds as friends of course! Face falls. Oh, but wait, are we friends who kiss or friends who don’t?? In typical nervous Cris fashion, he rambles off an answer that clears absolutely nothing up and Geno is left to wonder, which is it?

Esteban gets news that more of his business accounts are being released from the investigation so he now has access to the dinero! He wants to use it to help pay the ranches debts but MT thinks that’s daddy’s money and he’s helped enough, besides he needs it for his business which has always been his passion! I’m no expert, but I don’t think you can take business funds and just pay your ranches electric bill, pretty sure that’s called embezzlement…or at least misappropriation of funds?? I guess we’ll find out tonight…

Or perhaps, we’ll just learn something new entirely? I leave you with this bit of advice… STAY AWAY FROM ADRIANA, REGINA!!!!

Eternamente #91

Great work, Jarifa.

It's great that the family got the villa back, but I can't help thinking about the poster I once saw in a bookstore:

Everything I Know About Life I Learned From Princess Diana

=======

If you live with his mother 400 rooms are not enough

That certainly applied to the pre-dementia Martina and is unlikely to improve.

It is high time for Rogelio to tell JJ about Violeta's shenanigans. This last one was very obvious and it's a good thing Paula arrived when she did and not a second later. I loved how Imelda put her in her place; there needs to be more of that.

I still can't trust Ignacio. Narcissistic psychopaths have been known to not only fool their shrinks but to also learn more tricks from their sessions.

Cassandra in male clothes came right out of left field but I have to say that this actress was rocking the Marlene Dietrich moment of it.

I have an appointment to go to so see you all later to comment on Tierra. Still need to watch Minas.

Minas

Weirdo, thank you for an excellent snappy recap. I know you are very busy, and I appreciate the time you take to bring us a fun recap of all the unfolding drama.

I am surprised that Em told Leo that Mau raped her. Is Leo going to go all BSC on Mau now and kill him ? What is Loyal friend and rescuer Seb going to do?

I love Seb....sorry. I dont know what he is saying but his face says ," I am your ride and die forever and ever amen." Yes . Yes, Sir. Love that guy.

Sara is so overconfident . I hate the way she takes every opportunity to get as close to Leo as possible without climbing onto him in an attempt to restake her claim . Can't blame her . Leo is the galan. Leo just looks annoyed and distracted , but he doesn't push her away like Seb did to Mjriam...just saying .

Poor Nico just wants a dad, and we have two strapping guys who are anxious to fill that role and one actual biological father who can't even take care of himself .

I think Berta is planning to get into tiptop shape and seduce old Addled .

Okay, today's assignment : Write your own telenovela starring you with a cast of your relatives and friends . Give it a title.

Eternamente

Jarifa, thank you for another amazing account of every moment .

Rog is a dim bulb , and perhaps Paula has been a bit too nonchalant and understanding . Maybe Paula needs to have a private conversation with Vi. This girl is unhinged . Nothing stops her. I wonder if we will find out anything about her rough childhood. She is obsessed with Rog and completely fixated on him . Not normal. I got a kick out of Vi trying to boss the secretary around and loved the look Fidel gave her . Loyal, clever Fidel has Vi's number. Seeing Vi Wiping the coffee off Rog should be the last straw for Paula . Remember Imelda and her mother's reaction to Fernando's secretary ???? Imelda would give Vi a real run for her money. Where are the writers going with this To storyline ? Vi just doesn't give up? Despierta, Rog. What would you do ?

Gabriel is The Golden Bachelor , and he has given the final rose to Martina. I hope this show doesn't end tragically like some of the Turkish shows I have watched.

Cassandra is an interesting person. Poor Fidel now thinks Eva is with another guy .

Is Olympia's storyline over ? Will we ever see her again? Sad.

I am wondering how the writers wrapped all these storylines up.

MINAS

Weirdo, the writers are ratcheting up the crazy and your wry and wise humor is just the antidote! I smiled my entire way through this.

“Mau tells Roberta that Emi will forgive him and they'll be a family all together. Uh, this wouldn't happen even in the craziest of novelas, dude” was proof positive Mau left the real world long ago. Usually, like seeks like so it’s a shame he and Sara didn’t gravitate toward one another. She thinks Leo will break up with Emi when he finds out Mau is Nico’s father? Do you not know him at all?? Think again.

I should be anesthetized as to how chillingly evil a liar Roberta is but her telling Leo she “knew” about Mau’s relationship with Emilia but couldn’t bring herself to tell him was reprehensible. Stone cold.

I cringe every time Adalberto “graces” the screen. I have to say, crimes of fashion aside. Berta is in incredible shape and by her leg lift, very flexible. Girl, you can do SO much better…

Tigre wonders why Emilia never confided in him about her rape?? Just think back to your unpredictable, volatile, and angry reactions; the question is rhetorical.

“Leo asks Emi why she hid Mau is Nico's father from him. After some back and forth ("forget about me" "I can't, I love you") Emi tells him that she didn't tell him because she didn't know; Mauricio Santamaría, his brother, drugged her at a party and raped her. (I'm happy she told him. I thought we'd get 50 episodes of Emi not telling him.)” was excellent. I had a faint feeling she would tell him. Now, what will Leo’s reaction be? I’m standing by my thought that he will stand by her and continue to love her.

Diana

TIERRA

Darcy, this was sensational! You have such a fine flair.

So many wonderful lines. “Nani who wants him to take a pill – literally” was one of my favorites.

Adriana is leading Regina to the slaughter and no one seems the wiser. I was surprised the always smart, intuitive Bernarda’s antenna didn’t go up seeing Regina “organizing” her closet by packing her clothes.

Thoroughly enjoyed the first of two verbal tirades: Esteban to Rut. Esteban spoke with righteous anger from the heart but doesn’t realize what grave peril he is in.

I was so happy seeing Bernarda giving Marco a well-deserved verbal wupping: “Marco says she still feels something for him, but she says what she felt for him died when he proved he wasn’t man enough to fight for their love with his father!?! This shakes Marcos to his core, but Bernarda tells him not to fool himself, he still isn’t man enough”. Marco had seemed to care for her but he is so slimy, it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. I hadn’t expected that they were young and in love but the fact he wouldn’t stand up to his father does go along with his (non)character.

I didn’t understand anything about the money Trejo gave Clemente so thank you for explaining that. The grateful hug Clemente gave him really touched Trejo. And me.

I smiled in delight when Esteban hugged Maria Teresa and Valentina, one in each arm. “Este looks pleased, MT and Vale a little confused (Darcy just wonders, is this a family picture???)”. If I were a betting woman Darcy, I’d bet the farm on it! 😊

Diana

Eternamente

Gracias, Jarifa. Always a treat.

My fave was Imelda dissing Violeta.

Rogelio is like women are with lechers on the job. He's too polite in rejecting her.

What a doll Gabriel is to buy all Martina's furniture for safekeeping. He'll definitely be there for her if she has dementia.

Fidel was a hoot. I noticed that Eva's hair was more dolled up last night. I had to do a double-take to make sure it was Eva.

"ETERNAMENTE":
Jarifa: Good job on the recap of last night's episode.

Niecie: Wasn't surprised to see Imelda dissing Violeta, who basically DESERVED IT!

Gut feeling Buji Martina will NOT be among the living once this Telenovela is finished.

Eternamente

Niecie, I think you are on to something about Rog trying to ignore Vi the way women sometimes react to lechers. Ignore and hope they go away. Vi is unbelievably tenacious . Exactly what happened to her in childhood ? Maybe Rog should tell JJ the way she has been acting for far too long and find out if she has psychological problems.

Tierra

Darcy, thank you for an excellent recap.

The Clemente \ Trejo\ Camila interactions are bright spots in this show . I hope they can put their heads together and figure out what is going on in that town.

Yes, I think we got a family portrait of Este between MT and Val. Now, who is Regina's father...smarmy, egotistical Marco?

Adriana is despicable trying to pull Regina into danger. I wonder what kind of anvil the writers have forged for her .Will Trejo rescue Regina? So many telenovelas have storylines about human trafficking . Awful.

Santos is between a rock and a hard place with MT and Val. Val is going to be hurt.

Tierra #44

Gracias, Darcy.

Yes, Esteban definitely must be Valentina's father. My question is why he didn't have a proper relationship with Bernarda if this happened after his wife died.

I was getting physically ill watching Adriana with Regina. If Marco is her sperm donor I wonder when he will find out and what he will do. He might be bringing on Adriana's final fate. In fact, that sounds like it to me.

Norma is still being an idiot.

Eternamente #91

Just remembered something on the way home: Rogelio missed a clue when Violetta asked for almond milk when this wanna-be femme fatale previously bolted from the dinner table claiming a nut allergy. I don't think Paula was there to see that or she would have remembered this and taken her aside for some choice words.

Tierra,
Thank you Darcy. I love your editorial comments and the way you recap the episode. Marco is an interesting character. He is so macho and cold with Camila, pretentious with MT and smitten by Bernarda. It will be great to find out more about his father's disapproval of a relationship btw Him and Bernarda.

I think Regina is too smart to get sucked into Adrianna schemes, after she becomes aware of what is going on. Also mama bear Bernarda will step in at some point.

I am sorry to see Clemente go, I'm sure he won't be gone for long because of his love for Regina.

Thanks, Jarifa, for keeping us up on all that’s happening.

I was wondering why the villa was unfurnished when Ignacio was there. Gabriel is really good to Martina. Fernando and Marco are jerks. Especially Fernando, who’s old enough to act decently whether he feels that way or not.

Poor Fidel. It was funny to watch his daydream and reality. But he never questioned Eva!

Violeta was so obvious with the spilled coffee. And it was hot. I guess she wanted to feel his chest or have him rip his shirt off. I loved the reception she got at the villa.

When Martina and Gabriel were sitting at a table one of the ladies went by and said something to her. She looked totally confused. Does anyone know what she said. I’m pretty sure it was one of Beatrice’s little group.

So will Maraca choose to sleep in or out? The big question after we wonder what Violeta will do next.

I was surprised Emilia told Leo the truth. Here's hoping he won't start doubting her. This is actually interesting and I wonder how long it will last. Mauricio can hardly deny what he did. But then again, I wonder how many minutes it would take to convince him Nico should live with him and his dear granny.
It appeared Roberta had the attitude you are either with me or against me when it cam to Emilia. She did say something along the lines of 'I will have to find another way'. She said she thought it was good to have E and tigre on her side but I somehow got the feeling she changed her mind on this. But maybe I'm wrong.
Tigre sounds manipulative somehow. He is all ' me abandono'. He clearly wants E to sympathise and be on his side. The man clearly thinks himself some kind of prize if after not giving Zaira what she considers a sign of respect he still thinks she owes him anything.
I hope they all will go after Mauricio. I don't get where all his delusions come from. It's slightlyodd, given that he admits he ruined her life.
Nico's insistence Leo was his father in a dream he had creeped me out. Sorry but I don't find this particular plot point cute. I know he wants a father, but saying'mum, this time I saw his face in the dream' is just not the kind of plot I care for.

I am out and about today. Thank you, all, for your comments. Urban, you miss nothing re:almond milk. I hate posting on the phone. Cant wait until tonight.

Thanks, Darcy, for the recap with your snappy comments.

Trejo and Clemente are great together. What a difference it would be if they were father and son. But why did Trejo trust Grim with the drawings. Will he really try and sell them and give the money to Clemente? And I do like Trejo but thought he was in with Rutilo, Marco and Grim. He was getting lots of money from Rutilo.

I was trying to figure out parenthood too. Maybe Esteban slept with Bernarda in his grief and doesn’t remember it. If so he would have to be Valentina’s dad since she’s the oldest. But she and Marco must have been young when they dated, so he would also be a candidate for father of Valentina. But we know Rutilo is not Regina’s father, according to Bernarda. I’m hoping he’s not a father to either one.

I still don’t understand how MT and her dad trust Marco like they do. I know Santos warned MT but I think he also said something to Esteban.

I hope someone rescues Regina. Valentina will know where she is, unless Regina changes her mind. Which doesn’t look promising.

It looks like Marco let them make this delivery. I guess he figures the ranch will be his soon. I think Regina might end up being the cause of them getting caught!

Liz

Tierra

Thanks all!

I am worried about Regina Lester, so I am hoping you are right about her being too smart. And maybe MT would see her too, since she spends too much time at Marcos' place.

If Esteban is either girl's father it would have to be Valentina. When he first got back he was shocked to hear that Bernarda had daughters, which means he could have only fathered the first one or he would have known about Vale if he fathered Regina.

My best guess at the moment is Esteban is Vale's dad and Marco is Regina's...but I still think Esteban and Bernarda's interactions are a little 'off' for the former lovers vibe. Although Liz, if maybe, they once slept together once, that could explain it. Their relationship is mostly friendship with one night that went too far? I do think he remembers though, there's an awkwardness that sometimes surrounds those two that indicates a knowing.

Speaking of knowing things, I want to share while I'm thinking about it that I won't be able to recap next Monday. I am traveling (going on vacation) next week, and I will be on an airplane on Monday night when the show airs.

Notes from the couch . . .

ROGELIO IS BLIND TO THE THREAT OF VIOLETA WHILE PAULA'S SPIDEY SENSE IS IN OVER DRIVE

Paula pushes Violeta aside and takes over cleaning up Rogelio. She offers to go home and get a clean shirt. He declines. Violeta insists on buying him a new shirt since it was her fault. He gives in. She tells Adriana (the secretary I think I thought her name was Mariana earlier) to go buy it. When Adriana refuses, Violeta reminds her who she is in the pecking order ad tells her if she dones't want problems to just follow orders. Violeta stays in the hall and listens through the door as Rogelio LAUGHS and tells Paula that he he likes thinking she is jealous. Paula doesn't find it funny. She says Violeta makes her uncomfortable. Violeta is strange. He says he will try to keep a prudent distance from her but she is the niece of his partner.

Paula ends up making out with him until their sushi lunch arrives and it does. Now it is Rogelio's turn to be jealous as he wants Sebas' number so he can make sure they are using the best studio for their recording supposedly. The bottom line is that he doesn't want her going to Mexico City to do her recording (with Ulises?). Paula gives in saying she is open to working with people in Morelia. Rogelio smiles.

Adriana catches Violeta listening at Rogelio's door and give her the new shirt.

Paula asks Rogelio if he would help out with the rest of the guys in the family to take care of the kids while the women give Martina a bachelorette party. He agrees to. They start to kiss and Violeta barges in to deliver the shirt and leaves. Paula goes out and looks down the hall. She could swear that Violeta was spying on them listening at the door. Rogelio has no idea why she would do that. Paula is incredulous. Rogelio says Violeta works right next door.

MARCO MAKES A DECISION

Marco meets with Rogelio who encourages him to come back and live at home as well as work at the company. Marco is still interested in pursuing his hotel on wheels project. Rogelio is honest with him. He trusts Marco more than his project. He tells Marco that in business you have to learn how to walk before you run and that is what he is offering him as well as the chance to save money for his dreams by living at home.

Marco finally decides to follow Rogelio's advice and he tells Toro he is leaving to go work with his family. That doesn't surprise Toro. He expected it when his family got back on their feet. He is not angry. Toro wants him to work one more month. Marco doesn't know if Rogelio will allow him to but he will give him as long as he can while he trains Chuy is some management skills. That is when he finds out that Toro has no confidence in Chuy so he will not be training him. Chuy overhears Marco telling all of that to Blanca. Marco goes to talk to him. Marco tells him he has to clean up his act as a worker if he ever wants to progress. He needs to pay attention and not be so lazy. Chuy says he can always clean up his act when he gets that better job. Marco says it doesn't work that way. Marco insists he is still going to train Chuy no matter what. Chuy is more upset over him leaving. Marco says he is only leaving the garage but not Chuy. He will always be there for him. Chuy offered his hand to him in friendship when nobody else would. They are friends forever.

ETERNAMENTE Page two

IGNACIO STILL IN TURMOIL

Ignacio meets with Cass and expresses unlimited insecurity about being a father. He worries that his child will be born and find out who his father really is. Cass tells him the best thing for his child IS him. He needs to trust himself more. As he doubts more and more, he concludes that maybe it would be better if they did not move in together. She tells him that she cannot be in a relationship with a partner who isn't sure about what he wants to do. Ignacio gets upset when he sees Cecilia with Ricardo at the café. Cass leaves telling Ignacio she really hopes he doesn't end up all alone.

Ignacio also does not want to see the Iturbide's becoming leaders in transportation services again. He tells one of his minions that the Iturbides have not invested in new equipment, and their buses are old. He wants him to come up with some kind of sabotage.

THE BACHELORETTE PARTY

Eva says she has connections in Morelia and takes charge of organizing the "Casino NIght " bachelorette party.

All of the Iturbide men and their friends end up with all of their offspring at Fidel's place where they spend the evening baby sitting
while the women have a "Casino Night" at Villa Morelia. They also try to watch a soccer game without waking up the babies.

Martina is reluctant about a bachelorette party at first worried how it might make her look if the news got out about it . Paula sees the party as a celebration of women and love. Once the "cast" arrives with their casino props, Martina is up for it. All of the women are having a great time "gambling" at the various table games until Blanca goes to a bedroom to get something where she discovers one of the casino "cast" stealing things. He threatens her at knife point. Soon, all of the women are tied up at gun point. The thieves take whatever of value they can find. Melitón is outside and notices that their bags are bulging on their way out and asks them to open them. They hit him in the head with a gun as he goes to look into a bag. He ends up unconscious on the ground. The thieves are out of there.

EVERYTHING ELSE

Killjoy Fernando hates even the idea of his mother having a bachelorette party. He says it more than once.

Toro finds out that he has emphysema.

Ale suggests to Ulises that the two of them record Paula's song.

Fidel starts to question Eva about where she was and what she was doing. He doesn't get a straight answer and he is upset still thinking she must be cheating.

Rogelio is 43 years old.

Rogelio thanks Gabriel for everything he did with their furnishings and how he has taken care of his mother. He knows she is in good hands.

Regina is not happy that Lucas has a friend named Sarita who wants to come from Mexico City to visit him. Regina decides it is better if they are not novios.

Pre-party, Martina, Imelda and Paula are out shopping at a market. Martina sees a pin (?) that she likes. (Did anyone see what the pin was or represented?) The shopkeeper asks who is the bride? After Martina admits she is, she feels insulted and upset. She leaves. Paula and Imelda decide to go in together to buy it for her.

Martina gets upset looking for her phone finding it in her hand. Paula says it happens to her all the time. It is just nerves.

Luis tells the guys he just might want to be a father some day. Marco tells them that he and Blanc have decided no kids for them.

Rogelio, Fernando and Marco agree that Ignacio is not done with them yet.

That is all for me tonight. Please add anytihg I left out.

MINAS Minicap

A few pitiful notes without benefit of dialogue. I don’t think these will be much help (I had a long zoom meeting earlier tonight and I’m really tired so things made even less sense than usual). Please feel free to correct or add to…

Leo listens as a distraught Emilia cries brokenheartedly as to what she suffered at Mau’s hands. He hugs her tightly and seems completely supportive.

Mauricio is a wanted man. Sebas finds him first, his fists raining blow after blow on Mau’s not so handsome face. Mama Roberta shows up to save her persecuted son, asking him if he is all right, his face obviously beaten to a bloody pulp.

Sara pays the obnoxious reporter off; I believe to plant dirt about Emilia in the press.

Quick scene between Danilo, Adalberto, and Fidel. Not sure what was said, I still don’t know what their relationship is but Adalberto was hugging Danilo.

Sweet scene of Leo and Nico; Leo tucking him in bed.

Fidel sucks…err cozies up to Roberta.

Adalberto and his mistress (clad in black dominatrix garb with a gold star) start to have fun and games but he gets a call and leaves her with a stack of cash. She recalls Sebas’ words that she is a free woman. So she snacks on something and starts heaving. She checks her calendar as the patio wisely shake our collective heads.

Tigre gets his gun.

Gael scales the wall at Maria Jose’s and is greeted by an unfriendly Doberman. Amazingly he does succeed in calming the dog down but is intercepted by one of Roberta’s henchmen.

Roberta is with Mau who is walking stumbling in great pain as Tire shows up. There is a standoff and Tigre ain’t backing down, gun pointed at Mau’s head who is on his knees making ugly almost crying faces. Maria Jose shows up and hides behind a pillar. Mau begs for forgiveness but receives none.

Emilia and Leo go to the police station to file a report. Unfortunately, they get that horrible Policewoman (not sure what she says) but Leo bangs on the table in frustration. Leo gets a text Tigre is at his mother’s so he and Emilia take off for there. They arrive just as Tigre seems poised for action although Gael is gently tugging on his arm. Emi urges him to be calm. Roberto opens her mouth but Leo shuts it for her. Mau starts to grovel teary eyed. Leo has to stand in front of him arms raised.

Zaira gets taunted by the neighborhood gossips.

Orlando shows up and Sebas tells him what happened. Sebas seems to be asking him to do something…

Tigre is still pointing the gun…Roberta tries to intervene but Emilia shuts her up. Mau is sputtering and denying and finally Emilia walks up and says something about an inferno and gets her father to lower the gun. Emilia, Gael and Tigre leave. Roberta wants to call the police but Leo intervenes. Leo takes Mau by the arm and leads him away despite Roberto’s protestations.

Zaira brings out her cards. There are cries of an angry mob outside screaming as we hear glass shattering. Perhaps praying might be more helpful?

Roberta enlists Fidel’s help. She has a visitor, it’s the reporter (I think. She and the policewoman are so similar).

Jen goes to Orlando for comfort.

Al’s girlfriend takes a pregnancy test and to no one’s surprise, it is positive.

Fidel goes to Orlando’s (Jen hides in the closet). Orlando says Mau is a criminal but I think Fidel is telling his son to help him.

Zaira and Gael return home. Marijo calls Gael but Zaira disconnects the call.

Roberta shows up at Sara’s, confronting her.

At the police station, Mau is brought in as Leo, Emilia and Sebas look on. They stare at Mau with a steely gaze, Emilia asks him something which sadly I didn’t get. We end there.

Best I could do.

ETERNAMENTE

Jarifa, your smart and very savvy summary cleared up so much I hadn’t understood; thank you so much! “Killjoy Fernando” had me smiling away and “ROGELIO IS BLIND TO THE THREAT OF VIOLETA WHILE PAULA'S SPIDEY SENSE IS IN OVER DRIVE” could not have been more perfect!

Martina’s party seemed like so much fun. What a terrible experience for everyone. I was just thankful no one (save poor Meliton) was harmed, at least physically.

Marco seems to be giving up far more by leaving than he is gaining. He was respected and cared about and was doing a job he enjoyed. I love his supporting Chuy and saying he would train him anyway. Toro seems devastated by the emphysema diagnosis. I don’t blame him.

I’m sad Ignacio is continuing his vendetta trying to sabotage the Iturbides. I couldn’t tell if he was upset seeing Cecilia with Ricardo because he was jealous or worried about having his child with another man. Or both. Ignacio not only has too many demons, his pregnant not quite ex and his reservations and worry about his impending fatherhood are not the best way to start a new relationship. Cass did the right thing by bailing…at least for now.

“Martina gets upset looking for her phone finding it in her hand. Paula says it happens to her all the time”. I’m so glad Paula came to her defense. I’ve done that myself as well as other things including searching for my “missing” glasses perched on top of my head. Sigh. Ahhh, the pin. It seemed to be a pin encrusted with rhinestones or diamonds. It just seemed to be “a” pin, if it signified anything, it escaped me.

“Marco tells them that he and Blanca have decided no kids for them”. So, surely that means we don’t have to wait long for the pregnancy news, right?? 😊

Rogelio drives me mad even more. So Paula can´t work in MX because he is jealous when there´s no actual threat now whereas he brushes off her concerns. I kind of hate that she gave in. It really feels that Rogelio can´t see further than what he himself feels. He still seems selfish and self absorbed to me whenever he does something like this. It´s been so many episodes and no progress.
Ignacio can´t help himself apparently. If he really is so worried about his child´s opinion of him, why continue trying to make life difficult for the Iturbides? It's like he cares about his child, but not enough to give up something he wants to do. Even the therapist doesn't seem to be ehelping. Though I found it interesting that Casandra's response to him was'best thing for your child is you'. I wonder if he has ever heard something like that before.
It's nice Marco can just leave without even working the time that his boss asked of him.It irritates me when telenovelas do this. I don't know why.
Maybe someone can tell me what Violeta responded when Adriana asked her how she is supposed to pay for the shirt? I tried catching it a few times but was unsuccessful.

Eternamente

Jarifa, thank you for an excellent report from the couch as more troubles find the Iturbides. The writers keep tossing ingredients into this stew. Do they have a Wheel of Misfortunes in the writing room that they spin to see what problem happens next?

Poor Divorced Dad has gotten more than he bargained for befriending pregnant Ceci . Igy looked very angry staring at the couple . So, he can move on with Cass , but Ceci cant. How will the writers end his storyline?

I couldn't figure out what Martina was looking at in that store, but I could tell she was offended . Imelda showed a bit of kindness again by chipping in with Paula to buy the object Martina was looking at.

Even the kids are dealing with jealousy. Uff. How old are Lucas and Regina supposed to be? That drama usually starts in about sixth grade.

Violetta...what can I say? What will stop her? She sure loves to harass that poor secretary and taunt Paula. Maybe those braids are too tight. My sister once cut one of hers off because it was too tight. Rog continues to just put up with her odd behavior as Paula fumes and adjusts her scarf. Maybe Paula needs to talk to Imelda .

Has Olympia disappeared into the mist? Next.

Well, I am ready for this show to end and move on to the next story.

Minas

Diana, thank you for the mini cap . You hit every scene I remember.

I have no idea what kind of snake oil the new guy in town was selling Adel and Fide!, but he and A. Hugged .

Adalberto is going to be a father again. Great.

I cannot stand Sara. She acts so sure of herself , and Leo just lets her invade his personal space and lean all over him .

We knew that both Seb and Tigre would go after pathetic , whimpering Mau . I love Seb, but Tigre is nuts and owns a rifle .

Annette (Roberta) had the same stony face in " Mujer DC Judas" , but she wore a lot of hats in that one. Very odd.

Minas

Diana, thank you so much for your minicap. "I don’t think these will be much help" they certainly helped me. Before refreshing the site, I read the Univisión and Wikipedia highlights (I didn't have time to watch). You added a lot of stuff and clarified some scenes. You didn't miss anything, except from Roberta forging Emilia's signature to start the work needed in la Cueva del Diablo (which was in the Univisión highlights, but not in the Wikipedia ones).

So Míriam is pregnant. Shocking, not. This is the way this played out in the OG too btw.

Speaking of Míriam, I know she's supposed to be a good character, but I don't like her. She knows Adalberto is married but still has a relationship with him? And honestly, Adalberto, from all people? Plus the way she's hitting on Seb creeps me out a bit. He's not interested, woman.

I'm glad Mau got kicked. Go Seb.

I had the same thought about the reporter and the policewoman. Someone ran out of actors.. Lol jk

I really appreciate your help, Diana. Thanks a lot!

Minas
Thanks, Diana. I was pleasantly surprised to see your recap.
My Spanish isn´t very good, but I´ll add a few points.
When Emilia was at the police station, she was basically told she needs to have proof of what happened to her: no declaration and no proof, no crime.
Fidel, Danilo and Adlberto were discussing that business that Danilo had proposed. I do think it´s about snails. Adlberto, being a stupid man, agreed to invest money in it whereas Fidel refused.
Sebastian asked Orlando to promise he´ll make sure Mauricio pays for what he did. Sebas clearly knows Orlando is affraid of his father because he wants him to swear on his mother´s memory he´ll do his job. Sebas refuses. His father of course tells him to let M go free. If he doesn´t, he won´t know what his father had discovered about his mum. I´m guessing Orlando is looking for her?
Another detail that isn't relevant to the plot but that I found funny. When Gael wanted to calm the dog, he was like 'what is the name of that saint that is a saint of the animals?'. He remembers the name and asks the saint to calm the dog. It works! Then when the guard guy finds him he is like 'and what saint do I pray to now?
Roberta confronts Sara about wanting to spread rumours about E and her son. Apparently the journalist told R everything. Did she expect Roberta would pay her more? Because when Sara gave her the money, she said she'd never received so much money for a job before.
Adlberto's wife still wants Jen to marry Mauricio. She told her that if she doesn't want to do it, she can go looking for a place to live.
At the end of the episode, Mauricio's lawyer showed up and told them there's no proof against him so he can go free. Emilia told him to admit what he has done.
Also, Emilia told M 'it's easy for you to die now, isn't it?' She said he'll burn in hell once he is' called' and it's time for him to die, but now she wants him to go to prison.
Tigre wants them all to leave the town.
Zaira went to see a priest who, as far as I understood, told her that her brujerias were the reason she couldn't be happy because when she took out the cards, she said 'it's the last time'.

Tierra de Esperanza 10/3/23
Episode 44: Part 1 of 2

Marco spoke of his father's disapproval of him, then dismissed Adriana. [Things between these two are getting more tense.]

Clemente spoke similarly of his father to Camila. She gave him some money to get started in Mexico City [Can we expect Grim to pay him anything for those drawings?].

Regina told Valentina she was going to work at La Soltera and Val told her not to go. Regina did not want her life to fall into a rut. Valentina told her to take care of herself.

Maria Teresa and her dad talked about the security and got a call from Santos about it. Esteban was alright with the plan.

The next morning Valentina hugged Regina as she left the house early with her suitcase.

Rut arrived home after being out all the night before and Norma got on his case. She demanded respect as his wife and he accused her of not being a good wife for not defending him over Bernarda's accusation. [This is one of the most insulting things I can think of].

Clemente and Regina met I the street. He gave her a color drawing of a doorway with flowers surrounding it. He told her he was going to Mexico City and would return for her.

Genoveva let her hair down for the party and Maria Teresa told her she was a guest and didn't have to do any work.

Regina and Clemente kissed. She told him about working near the river and he told her not to. She would be safe with her mother and sister until he got back. He said they would be married when he returned.

Valentina was on the verge of reluctantly telling Bernarda that Regina left just a Regina returned. She hid her suitcase behind a tree until Bernarda left the porch. She explained Clemente's plan to Valentina which caused her sister to quietly thank God for him.

The party got started near that tree with the octopoid-looking roots [Is that a real tree?]

Marco was about to leave for the party as Adriana and Irasema talked about Regina. He appeared not to have heard anything.

Genoveva left her drink with Cris to have a dance with Pedro. Valentina had changed into her first slutwear, a dress in Hooker Pink with a long skirt slit up to the right hip. Marco arrived full of his usual slimy flattery for Santos' benefit. He upped the ante by kissing Maria Teresa's bare soldier in front of him. [There will be an explosion over this before too many more episodes pass.]

A fellow named Rodrigo from the governor's office paid Rut a visit about La Esperanza. Rut got nervous which he disguised as indignation. He dismissed Trejo and made a phone call.

Tierra de Esperanza 10/3/23
Episode 44: Part 2 of 2

Cris was getting jealous. Valentina encouraged him to cut in and a moment later he was dancing with Genoveva.

Rut was in the hot seat with the governor. He breathed a little easier when Rodrigo was out the door.

Genoveva and Cris talked briefly as Maria Teresa and Marco arrived and started dancing.

Adriana was still waiting for Regina when Grim showed up. He handed her pills intended to drug Regina. He didn't stick around long.

We flies on the wall finally see Bernarda in a dress, a flowered number with a matching flower on her head and a fan in her hand. Just as Esteban was about to mention the past Regina arrived and Bernarda introduced them. Maria Teresa was dancing unenthusiastically with Marco.

Rut sent Trejo to La Esperanza. It was obvious that Esteban's threats had gotten to him.

That evening there was a round of toasts at the party. Maria Teresa's feelings for Santos were obvious [to us]. Marco told him “I will be the new patrón” and began new threats against him “for what you did to my father.” [We all roll our eyes.]

Valentina staked her claim just before Cris asked her for more advice about Genoveva. Santos looked at Maria Teresa as Valentina leaned against him.

Norma was at La Soltera telling Adriana about Clemente and Regina. Adriana was shocked but not enough to not put a nasty spin on the situation. After Norma left to go home Irasema returned empty-handed. Adriana told her what she had just found out and Irasema panicked at the thought of Bernarda coming after them with her shotgun. [We can't wait for that]. They argued about next steps just as Susi arrived.

Maria Teresa tried to explain to Santos about her moving on with Marco.

Thanks Jarifa, I’d really be lost without your recaps. I thought Ignacio was saying to let theIturbide’s get back to their business. But he’s still determined to destroy them. He really shouldn’t have the love of either woman. And is he someday going to teach his son to get revenge. The son will be growing up with the Iturbide children. Ignacio should realize that. I’ve lost all hope of him changing.

I don’t like the way Violeta treats the secretary. I don’t think she has the right to order her around. I see her making her do the work and she’ll take the credit. It’s also hard to like Rogelio. Such a double standard!

I thought Marco loved working on cars. It seems like that’s what he wanted to do at the beginning of this show. Rogelio should let him live his own life.

Too bad the party had to end the way it did. I didn’t realize Eva set it up. Hope this doesn’t backfire on her.

Thanks, Urban, a good morning read!

So it looks like Regina will be safe. They have Susi and they don’t want to deal with Bernarda’s wrath, which I would have enjoyed. I hope Susi told someone her plans. And I hope she’s a fighter.

I wanted to smack Marco when he kept kissing MT’s shoulder. I can’t believe that didn’t creep her out. He even did it in front of her dad. He did not get her “I’m not ready” message. But why does she give men a chance when she doesn’t love them. She’ll probably “almost” marry Marco too. Is she that desperate that she’ll settle.

At least Chris and Genoveva seemed to have worked out their relationship-not amigos!

I’m glad Esteban reported Rut. Hope they start investigating him. I don’t like Norma and I’ll be glad when she learns the truth about her husband. He thinks he’s something else. It will be fun to see him fall.

Thank you Jarifa, for your always wonderful and witty notes from the couch!

This was a less than one episode. There was one thing I didn't get that I was hoping your couchcap would teach me, lol....at the business meeting JJ didn't look very happy, what upset him? Did anyone catch that?

I don't understand why Marco needs to leave his job in order to come back home....he's not interested in the family business. I also think Rogelio is being a fuddy duddy about the traveling hotel idea. It's a good idea, Marco wants to be independent, he should branch out and find someone who likes the idea outside of the family to partner with.

The casino night was so fun looking before the robbery, how horrible that their fun had to be ruined.

I'm sorry waterlily, I didn't catch what Violetta said about the no money either, the secretary should have told her to get lost! I would have, but then again I only lasted like a week and a half the one secretary job I had, I kept putting the owner on hold!!! LOL And not even on accident, he was this big self-important person constantly calling to talk to his employees all day long and he thought he COULDN'T be put on hold. I demonstrated otherwise....hehe

MINAS

Weirdo, thank you for that all important information about Roberta forging Emi's signature! I appreciate your and Susan's kind words.

waterlily, I respectfully comment that I think your Spanish is excellent! "When Emilia was at the police station, she was basically told she needs to have proof of what happened to her: no declaration and no proof, no crime" was perfect. I suspected it was something reprehensible like that. Ack.

Snails? Well that's different.

Appreciate all the interesting and important information you provided, epecially about Orlando and Gael.

"Emilia told M 'it's easy for you to die now, isn't it?' She said he'll burn in hell once he is' called' and it's time for him to die, but now she wants him to go to prison". Which is exactly where he should go!

Thank you for adding all this pivotal information and doing it so well!

Tierra

Thank you Urban for another fantastic recap!!!

Yay, Regina is safe!!!! Trejo and Camila saved (helped monetarily) Clemente and then Clemente saved Regina. I am so relieved but I fear Susi won't have the same luck!

I don't understand why MT puts up with men she doesn't like either, I guess she suffers from the 'I don't wanna be mean' gene, or an overactive gratitude gene. Marco 'saved' her so now she is obligated to give him a chance?? Yuck!

I too would have like to see Bernarda go after Adriana....maybe she still will if Adriana's past intentions still become obvious later.

Geno looked beautiful!

I hope the governor can do something effective to stop Rut, maybe with only 16 episodes left, he will be able to!

Waterlily, thank you very much for your minicap. The addition of your's and Diana's recaps was spectacular. Thank you both so much.

The Danilo storyline is interesting. In the OG, there was a character, that I assume doesn't exist here, Lucho, who had some shady business and who managed to get Julio (Adalberto) to give him money. Lucho played an important part later on but I won't say anything because it's a spoiler.

I don't have much time to write other comments. Got to go!

ETERNAMENTE

Diana, thanks. "Ignacio not only has too many demons, his pregnant not quite ex and his reservations and worry about his impending fatherhood are not the best way to start a new relationship. Cass did the right thing by bailing…at least for now." Exactly and that is not even taking into consideration his obsession with wanting more revenge on the Iturbides. RUN, Cass, RUN! "“Martina gets upset looking for her phone finding it in her hand. Paula says it happens to her all the time”. I’m so glad Paula came to her defense." Me, too. Sounds like me, also! I am liking how this novela is giving examples for "normal" and "not normal" in different situations.

waterlily, Violeta told Adriana that the company would pick up the tab and also to get her a tea while she was out. When she returned, Adriana gave Violeta the shirt but told her they were all out of chai. Touché! I had to include that last bit because Adriana got her back to some degree. "So Paula can´t work in MX because he is jealous when there´s no actual threat now whereas he brushes off her concerns. " This annoyed me, too. I also did not like him laughing when he was "teasing" Paula about being jealous. He still cannot get it into his block head that Violeta is a PSYCHO.

Susan, "Has Olympia disappeared into the mist?" I would think so because Martina did tell her that she didn't want to be besties or anything like that. The ether swallowed her up! LOL "Even the kids are dealing with jealousy. Uff. How old are Lucas and Regina supposed to be? That drama usually starts in about sixth grade." It is hard to judge. The girl looks like she could be around ten? Lucas could be around that age. About three years have gone by. Was he around eight when we started? I cannot remember anymore. That whole plot line has turned me off.

Liz, glad the recaps are useful. "Too bad the party had to end the way it did. I didn’t realize Eva set it up. Hope this doesn’t backfire on her." What bothered me was that Eva said that she had all of the connections in Morelia to plan the party. Evidently, she needs new connections. "I don’t like the way Violeta treats the secretary. I don’t think she has the right to order her around. I see her making her do the work and she’ll take the credit." I could see that, too. When Violeta first started ordering Adriana around, I was disappointed that Adriana didn't go see Rogelio to find out exactly who she was working for and what that meant.

Darcy, "There was one thing I didn't get that I was hoping your couchcap would teach me, lol....at the business meeting JJ didn't look very happy, what upset him? Did anyone catch that?" I remember that scene. It was very odd as they were talking about marketing the new company. JJ and Marco were all into using the social networks and the internet while Rogelio was into working with their tradition emphasizing good reliable service, etc. JJ seemed to lose interest when Rogelio started talking about his bus company from the good ole days. Rogelio asked Fernando to do an analysis of what was discussed. I enjoyed your "he he " story.

TIERRA

Urban, you never fail to notice such amazing details “octopoid-looking roots [Is that a real tree?]” while providing your marvelous recaps.

Yes, Marco and Adriana’s relationship is totally deteriorating. Adriana is far cleverer than Marco but it will be interesting to see who gets the upper hand.

I’m fairly certain Valentina wasn’t wearing the only dress with a slit – I thought Maria Teresa sported something similar; I didn’t care for either dress. I loved Bernarda’s dress; she was the belle of the ball.

Clemente meeting up with Regina saved her. This was a very relieving twist; I was prepared for her to be abducted but rescued. Glad that didn’t happen. Sadly, Susi’s unfortunate arrival didn’t leave them without a sacrificial lamb.

I would have LOVED to have seen Bernarda getting her gun and going after Adriana! 😊

Such longing looks exchanged between Maria Teresa and Santos! Marco kissing her shoulder was sickening. I do feel for Valentina though; it seems inevitable her heart will be broken.

Any scene with Rut or Norma, together or separate want to make me FF….Ack.

It seems Bernarda and Esteban have more unfinished business…

Diana

Tierra

I actually liked Valentina's dress (MT's too). I thought the particular shade of pink softened the look a little making it look younger and somehow less hookerish than it would have been in another color. The slit was pretty high but loose and flowing which again softened the look IMO.

Eternamente #92

Gracias, Jarifa. Great stuff, as always.

I am wondering where those goons came from. Are they associated with the one who was blackmailing Eva or did Ignacio sic them on the Iturbide women? I hope we find out soon.

It does look like Olympia is gone and that is a good thing. However, Ignacio is still doing his thing and needs to be stopped before he tries to steal Cecelia's baby. No court would give custody to a criminal like him.

Marco's project is more of an Air BNB on Wheels. Good for camping trips but not serviced like a hotel room or suite. Marketable this way but the idea needs more work. I don't think Rogelio was being selfish for wanting Marco back in the family business for a while.

Where Rogelio is faltering is not doing the right psych math. He is not adding up the incidents involving Violetta to see the whole picture and not all of them had witnesses let alone the same ones. I think that in general women are better at this.

Minas #24

Gracias.

I had to laugh at Miriam's dominatrix scene with Addled-berto who certainly deserves more of that than she is currently dishing out. I hope she recorded it against the day when he fails to deliver on her demands. His daughters' reactions would be hilarious.

That was a good preventive/antidote to Roberta's budding smear campaign against Emilia. The misogyny in this series is truly over the top. The policewoman either was lying or ignorant of procedure as in how on earth could a rape kit show evidence after eight years? No questions about witnesses? Do you discount the DNA test? Would that also discount any confession on Mauricio's part? As to the latter, is someone going to prevent him from saying anything? In other words, this is open season on women in San Lorenzo if not the whole country.

Leo has his hero work cut out for him.

How do you tell a 7-year-old child that he was conceived in rape? Emilia will have no choice about this unless they leave town. This is hard-enough news for a teen or an adult. The difficulty here is even greater with so much hate coming from Roberta and her minions and misogynistic psychos like Ramiro.

Like others, I didn't recognize Rodrigo Brand either. However, that may have been deliberate; he could have asked for this look after being a doppleganger for Clark Kent in a least two previous series.*

*not that there's anything wrong with that.

ETERNAMENTE

Urban, thanks. As for the attack, maybe the goons could be just the result of Eva going with the wrong event providers? Chance? Whatever, it will be interesting seeing the fallout. Marco’s hotel on wheels comes with a driver and tour itineraries and he needs to be out there shopping his project. A partner could help him refine his idea and he could be working at the family business at the same time. I always hate when these novelas make things so either /or. Rogelio is right that Marco has a lot to learn and that only comes from experience. Good take on Rogelio.

Thanks for the comments.

What is blowing my mind right this minute is how could Adriana not know that Bernarda has two daughters and that one of them is deaf? Puerto Bravo is not a major city, everyone seems to know everyone else, and how many other deaf people could there be? Bernarda has to go into town at least once in a while. Irasema knew her ep.

Thanks, Jarifa. Yikes, this family never gets break.

Honestly though, if Eva vouched for the Casino Night firm, maybe some crooks infiltrated an otherwise legitimate company. I feel bad for Eva. Eva, next time stick with a male stripper.

At least the thugs were content to rob and run. I was afraid they'd kidnap and ask for ransom.

Minas

In that final scene between Orlando and Fidel , I think Fidel wanted O to help Mau,but I think O called him a rapist. Did Fidel then say something about O's mother ?.Manwhile, Jen was hiding in O's bedroom.

I had to Google Rodrigo Brand. I never would have recognized him, but I thought he had a lot of charisma and charm for an actor in a minor role. This guy is headed toward a galan role . lots of guaypos in this show.

Notes from the couch . . . This is a long one tonight

THE ROBBERY

All of the women scream for Melitón who comes to rather quickly and unties all of hem. In the meantime, the men are trying to enjoy a soccer game without waking up the kids. They have all decided it is time to go home when Blanca calls Marco to let him know what happened. Rogelio calls Benito at the prosectors office who will meet them at the Villa. Benito gets everyone's statement. This is the third complaint they have had filed against what they are thinking is a gang of robbers. He is sure that they will catch them. Lucas is upset in particular because they stole his tablet with his mother's recordings.

Beatriz tells Imelda that it was ridiculous that she and the others would have put themselves at risk (like they could have known???) because of a bachelorette party for Martina. Beatriz is worried that Imelda and she by extension will be the subject of gossip and gossip is never good. Later, she goes to see Rogelio to tell him that Cecilia and his child were at risk because of the stupid party Martina had.

VIOLETA NEVER GIVES UP

Violeta has to greet Rogelio with a kiss on the cheek when he arrives at work and then has to help clean her lipstick off his face. She tries to insinuate herself into the communication loop between Adriana, Rogelio and JJ. Rogelio tells her that isn't necessary. Later that morning, Adriana arrives with a cup of coffee for Rogelio. He says he didn't ask for any. She says that Violeta "the daughter of one of the owners" told her he wanted one. Rogelio immediately springs into action and with Adriana goes to see JJ. Violeta conveniently is there. Rogelio announces that he is there to clarify Adriana's role in the company. She is HIS personal executive secretary and as such only takes orders from HIM. Violeta immediately thanks him for explaining that because she thought that Adriana was there to help them all. Rogelio says NO. JJ tells Violeta that she is his assistant but if he wants something from Rogelio, he will ask him himself. Violeta apologizes. She only wanted to help. Rogelio understand that she did everything with the best of intentions. He explains that he has known Adriana forever and that they have spent years working together. Maybe she can teach Violeta a thing or two. Adriana is very capable. Adriana says she would be happy to help her. Violeta has to thank her and excuses herself to get some work done. After Violeta leaves, JJ, Rogelio and Adriana "efficiency personified" meet. JJ thanks Rogelio for being patient with Violeta since she is just starting out. When Rogelio and Adriana leave, all JJ can do is shake his head and mutter Violetita.

After leaving JJ's office, Violeta is incensed and hears Rogelio's phone ringing in his office. She slips in and sees that Paula is calling him. She answers and tells Paula that she and Rogelio went out for coffee. He is in the bathroom and that is why she is answering. She asks Paula if Rogelio should call her later. Paula says yes. Violeta erases the call and turns off Rogelio's phone so when Paula calls later, her call goes directly to voice mail. Paula has had it and goes to see Rogelio in person asking him how his "coffee' went. Rogelio has no idea what she is talking about. She says that she called. Violeta answered and said they had gone out for coffee and that he was in the bathroom. He calls Adriana to send Violeta to his office. He is told that Violeta left just as Paula arrived. Rogelio understands nothing about what supposedly happened. Paula tells Rogelio, in no uncertain terms, that if he doesn't get Violeta away from him, she will do it herself and SHE could care less if JJ wants Rogelio to look out for her.

ETERNAMENTE Page two

IGNACIO STILL DOESN'T GET THE MESSAGE

Cass pays Ignacio a visit to see why he suddenly changed his mind about them living together. He apologizes. She makes it clear that she isn't into his little games. She is single because she has no problem being alone. He reminds her that he told her that he had a complicated life when they met. She doesn't see his personal drama as any kind of justification for his actions. Everyone has those. She doesn't "need" a partner. All Ignacio has to do is tell her he doesn't want a relationship with her and it will be over. He doesn't know what to tell her. He likes her. He is interested in her. She tells him that he is all grown up now and his being a victim isn't going to cut it for her. He leaves.

Ignacio visits his therapist and finds no comfort there. He tells her he doesn't know why he changed his mind about Cass moving in. He is attracted to her because she is very different from his mother and Cecilia. She is independent. The therapist reminds him that Cecilia was independent, too, when he met her and still is. He says the problem with Cecilia was that she always hoped he would change. The therapist asks if it was because he presented himself as a victim? He asks "Isn't he a victim??" The therapist answers that dealing with a victim is very tiring for anyone. The therapist adds that his mother and Cecilia were dependent emotionally and asks if he is up to the challenge of being with a woman who can take care of herself emotionally. The therapist asks if his partner not "needing" him makes him doubt his function as a male. Ignacio mentions that what really bothered him was seeing Cecilia with another man. He will not allow another man be a father figure for his son. That turns out to be another important topic for another day.

Ignacio visits the prosecutor's office and tells them they better find the criminals that threatened his pregnant wife. If not, he will do it himself and will not be responsible for what happens.

Ignacio makes a point of talking to Cecilia to make sure she is okay.He offers to get her a new cellphone since hers was stolen. She tells him if he really wants to help her, then he shouldn't repeat the little show he put on at the cafe the other day. He says he just cannot stand the the thought of his son living in another man's house. She reminds him that she is not his mother.

Ignacio visits Cass at her workplace. She sighs when she sees him. He wants to apologize and extends his offer to live together again. He wants her to know that he likes her a lot. This could be the start of a really lovely relationship. He is trying to overcome his insecurities. That being said, there is something else bothering Cass. It was his reaction to Cecilia and her male friend. He reacted like a madman. Ignacio gets defensive and says he will not allow another man to be at Ceciiia's side while she is pregnant. It is HIS child. Cass decides she is done with stupid discussions and the one thing she needs least in her life is a MACHO. He asks if she is still interested in him. She says yes but he is going to have to decide if he wants to be a part of HER life. She thinks he has a lot to think about. She shows him the door.

ETERNAMENTE PAGE three

FERNANDO

At a business meeting, Fernando feels disrespected when he asks about when his rapid messenger service will be starting up again and Rogelio tells him that he and JJ will be discussing that. Fernando makes it clear that he wants to be included. He leaves in a huff. Rogelio talks to him alone and reminds him that JJ is their partner. Fernando doesn't want him telling him what to do. He doesn't get good vibes from the guy. Rogelio says you cannot make decisions based on "vibes." Fernando repeats that he wants to be consulted before any decision is made.

Also in the meeting, JJ brings mentions the need for a PR person. Imelda's name comes up. Fernando says she would be great but she has two young children at home. JJ will offend Fernando again when he sees Imelda in Fernando's office and tells her that they are going to need somebody to run PR for the company. He thinks she could do a fine job. She says she would be interested. Fernando interrupts it all saying that it is his place to talk to his wife about the position.

MARTINA

Martina comes into the kitchen with a strange request. She asks Micaela get some towels for her. She needs to take a hot bath. She got all soaked and doesn't want to get sick! Felipa thinks Martina has gone crazy. Micaela calls her on her disrespect and tries to make Martina's comment into a joke.

When Martina is in her greenhouse, Micaela suggests that she go for a little checkup at the doctor since she has been through so much stress lately. Paula thinks it would be a good idea, too. Martina says she will.

That afternoon, Paul goes with Martina and Jazz to the park. Paula runs across the street to go to the drugstore and leaves Jazz with Martina. A woman sits down and starts chatting with Martina. Suddenly, Martina's aspect completely changes and she shouts for the the woman to get away from her. She gets more and more agitated as the woman asks if she can help her. The woman finally leaves. Martina then looks at Jazz and doesn't recognize her. She wonders who the baby belongs to. She starts shouting for help.

LUCAS

Lucas and Regina were broken up but now are back together after Lucas gets lots of advice from Luis and Regina from her father. YAWN!

MARCO

Marco is now the head of maintenance at the Iturbide Company. He is happy.

That is it for me tonight. Feel free to add what I left out.

ETERNAMENTE

Jarifa, your recap was exceptional. I was intrigued by every spellbinding word. There was much that was over my head and a few things I didn’t recall although I thought I was paying attention…

Thankfully no one was injured during the robbery…

Is it possible for Ignacio to move forward unless and until he vanquishes the demons from his past? I wonder if that is even possible. The emotional scars inflicted on his mind and heart are just as egregious as the physical ones. His feelings for both Cecilia and Cassandra are clearly conflicted. Conversely, he is adamant and determined that he will be the one and only father and man in his son’s life; it is not a role he will share. Cecilia and Cass are clearly attracted to each other but I’m not seeing a deep depth of love and devotion that would likely be needed to make all of this work. Perhaps that will come in time.

Fernando is a moody jackass and it’s hard to summon even the slightest bit of sympathy for him. Calling JJ the wrong name was so childish; it is so difficult to be taken seriously when one acts like a petulant child. However as Rogelio reminds Fernando “JJ is their partner” rather than “JJ is HIS partner”, I think Fernando has a point about being involved in the meeting. Imelda accepting the position or not should be totally up to her. Fernando speaking up about the children was totally inappropriate. No one ever brings children up when men are considered for a position do they??

Going from being completely lucid one moment to realizing you are “lost” in a situation must be terrifying. These incidents seem to be occurring with more frequency. I have a sinking feeling that Martina’s diagnosis will be sobering.

Violeta’s stunts definitely merit termination. Rogelio is going to need to have a serious discussion with JJ to make that happen. And quickly.

I didn’t realize Marco is now head of maintenance. I’m glad and hope it makes things a bit better for him.

Ignacio’s therapist’s ivory silk shirt and Cassandra’s silk obi inspired belt were tonight’s fashion must haves.

Is Rogelio really that thick? 'did it with the best intentions'? I don't know how he came to this conclusion. The whole business with the phone call should finally make him think, but he has such double standards that I have given up hope here. So how does Violeta think she'll make herself indespensible to him? I wonder what she thought about Rogelio when he started praising Adriana. It's weird to watch this when I don't know wheresuch behaviour wouldfit in when her narrative is completely different. And what did she think would happen with the coffee? Rogelio was supposed to scold Adriana or what?
Casandra is right Ignacio's past is no excuse, but it affected him so much that regardless of it not being an excuse, it's a motive for his actions and there appears to be no way out. So why someone emotionally independent decides to have a partner? I'm genuinely curious because this confused me a bit. I suppose then you want someone because you enjoy being with them, but isn't a partner, be it a man or a woman, supposed to be your emotional support? The therapist somehow made it seem bad to need a person for support. Was Ceci really this dependent oN Ignacio for emotional support? I only remember his abuse now so it's not like he could have supported her. Maybe the therapist was talking about being very emotionally dependent but where is the line then? I can't believe Ceci was supposed to represent this kind of need. It's a bit suprrising to me.
Shouldn't Fernando be included in the meetings? I mean,, JJ is a partner, but isn't this a family firm? Rogelio's explanation is odd and doesn't make sense to me.
Beatrice is awful. I can never believe it when a mother says something similar to what she said to Imelda. Morelia with all its gossip and attitudes seems like a small town and I doubt it is that small. They have a university there!

Tierra #45

I was out last night and my On Demand has the wrong episode loaded for this. Can someone else post the highlights, please?

Minas #25

Wikipedia & Univisión highlights:

Mau admits he raped Emilia and he's arrested.
Emilia confesses to Leonardo having seen Roberta and Fidel together shortly before Ignacio's death. (In the Uni highlights, it said "some months before". That much time has passed already?)
Emilia receives an eviction order for defaulting on her father's debt, putting her own house at risk.
Emilia decides to confront the lender about the lawsuit and discovers that Roberta bought the documents to leave her and Nico homeless.
Leonardo buys a house to start a family with Emilia and arranges a date to propose to her. Afterwards, they both "surrender to passion".

I didn't get a chance to watch the episode. If something is missing, feel free to add it.

ETERNAMENTE

So much happening in one episode again. This one was so heavy on Ignacio that I didn't care about him or Cass by the end. Honorio said again that he wants to be with Micaela even if she will not marry him. It turns out she loves him like "a brother from another mother." Glad that they cleared that up. As for Martina at the end, Diana Bracho gave such a good performance going from warm and friendly to blank-faced and then terrified. Paula better make it back from the pharmacy quickly or Jazz could be lost in the park again.

Diana, thanks, this novela has been fun to recap because I do not hate all of the characters, just a few and there is nothing too distasteful like that woman being cooked alive in a tanning machine . ; ) I appreciated "Fernando is a moody jackass and it’s hard to summon even the slightest bit of sympathy for him. Calling JJ the wrong name was so childish; it is so difficult to be taken seriously when one acts like a petulant child." Perfectly put! "Imelda accepting the position or not should be totally up to her. Fernando speaking up about the children was totally inappropriate. No one ever brings children up when men are considered for a position do they??" No, they don't. Having seen how JJ's eyes have lingered on Imelda in recent episodes and now with him offering her this opportunity supposedly wanting to keep the position" in the family," I wonder if Fernando might end up having a bigger "problem" than just trying to control his wife. Imelda seems to like JJ. It looks like Marco landed a job that is perfect for him being the mechanic that he is. I liked how excited he was when he heard about the salary and bonuses that awaited hm. At least one happy event.

waterlily, I do not think that Rogelio was being thick but that he was trying to be gracious in his exchange with JJ when both of them knew that Violeta had gone way beyond what her job was. I think that her sending Adriana with the coffee was just a way to remind Rogelio that she was thinking about him. Considering all of that, Rogelio is so far behind recognizing that Violeta is a bona fide threat to his marriage, it isn't even funny. I loved Paula telling him to take care of the Violeta problem or she would. A woman of action. "Shouldn't Fernando be included in the meetings?" This harkens back to Fernando's complaint from the start that Rogelio doesn't include him in the decision making process. It does not seem to have gotten any better. I cannot think of a bigger nightmare than being in a family business.

TIERRA TINYCAP

Maria Teresa shows up at Marco’s, flourishing a big fat check to pay her debt! His face falls as he will need to return the deeds, his plans ruined.

Marco and Rut have several confrontations but I cannot provide the gist; I do get the feeling these frenemies are on shaky ground and one will have to go.

Bernarda (surprisingly) does a lot of crying throughout tonight. Esteban is extremely upset that Bernarda never told him he is Valentina’s father. She references Esteban’s deceased wife but I didn’t understand her explanation as a whole.

Adriana scowls and furrows her brow throughout the evening…

Chacal acts like a bullfighter waving the red flag at Santos by maligning Maria Teresa’s character.

I wish I could provide more. Sometimes the episodes blend together.

Miriam tells Adlberto she is pregnant. He wants her to have an abortion, but she refuses. He then tells her,'you can have the baby and good luck to you then, but be quiet about it.' She doesn't want to be quiet at all.
Roberta goes to see her dear son and tells him that he has to be free because for his child to respect him, he has to fight for the child. She tells him Emilia won't even tell the child who his father is.' Don't let Leonardo win' is her statement of the evening. Let's everyone applaud because she's learnt to say something that isn't soy la patrona.
Zaira told tigre no one rents her a place to stay and so they are going to live togther, but 'keeping a healthy distance'.
Adlberto's wife apparently sent pictures of Miriam with Seb. Poor Seb. I really don't want anything to happen to him.
Seb also asks Sara to meet and asks her to help them with Emilia's house issue. She apparently thought he was going to ask her help with winning over Emilia. Seb's answer is 'I lost that battle before even starting'. His wise advice is for her to stop pursuing Leo. But she says she has 'other methods' She also says he is a good person and so gets himself into a lot of problems. She isn't wrong about this. He somehow thinks she's a good person too. Imagine if these two ended up togther. She agrees to help because it suits her interests.
Seb talks to Salvador's mum, who tells him her son is dead. Seb asks her if she has seen the body. I believe she tells him she was told to come for him to the hospital so was he then alive? Because 'ir por el' doesn't sound like she was talking about a dead person. She was also threatened and told to leave the town. Patrichio was supposed to give her a lot of dinero. But she stayed. Both she and Seb Salvador was killed because he wasn't seriously injured.
Jenifer tells Sara she doesn't care M is in prison because that's the only way Roberta and the rest of that stupid gang will leave her in peace. Sara tells her to talk to the parents. Really? Those two have about one brain cell between them so what good is that going to do I don't know.
Roberta tells Sara she is sick of her impowered women's nonsense. She isn't allowed even to breathe without Roberta's permision from now on. Sara doesn't like this at all.
Everyone keeps asking Orlando to make surejustice wins. Mauricio's lawyer brings him papers to sign that would let M go free. He signs them i believe?
It was interesting that at first Mauricio said he didn't remember anything and only when E brought up Nico did he admit the truth. I was ahorrified at first. But I suppose he is also likely to believe Roberta about Nico not being told who his papa is so I shouldn't be jumping for joy yet.
Leonardo leaves the house so now Marjo is left 'a la buena de dios' as they say. I can't believe Leo did this to her. He leaves aftertelling his mummy dearest he knows she was unfaithful to Ignacio. Apparently it took this knowledge for him to realise letting Roberta control Mari's money was a bad ideatoo. Why did they have to make him so stupidly naive?

Thanks, Jarifa, what a great recap which included every detail.

I’m getting pretty fed up with both brothers. I can’t believe Rogelio doesn’t realize how Violeta is. I know we see a lot more of her actions but Rogelio should have seen enough. And Fernando is once again a jerk. For a short while he seemed to take responsibility for ruining the company but now he seems to feel he knows best. And why mention Imelda and then back down on her working.

I see no hope for Ignacio. I would say I’m sure the writers are going to have him end up with one of the woman but I think he belongs in jail for what he did to his brothers’ company. And will continue to do.

The men with the babies was cute and lighthearted. Much needed in a night of heavy drama.

Paula never should have left the baby with Martina. She has seen the episodes Martina is having. I’m hoping it’s something fixable, that the doctor can find and fix. Although it would probably involve surgery on her brain. I just hate to see her future with Gabriel ruined.

Minas part 2
Roberta threatens a journalist that Sara wanted to hire, telling her she won't get any money from her and tells her toleave the ttown. That journalist meets with someone and gives them something to give to Emi if something 'happens to her' I believe.
Roberta also threatens the lawyer she hired to defend M, saying 'your daughter's school is in an unsafe area I heard.' The man has to make sure m is released.
Emilia apparently doesn't care her father was the oneto mortage her house because she doesn't want him to know the trouble they are in now because his health isn't the best. I know she is worried about him but it annoyed me so much that he could do this to his own child.
Maybe someone could tell me who that journalist met and if Orlando signed the papers.
This got a bit long, but this was a good episode for me in terms of comprehension. It's my lucky day today!

MINAS

Thank you Weirdo!

A few quick thoughts of what I think I remembered.

I thought Mau seemed resigned when arrested, realizing and admitting, his guilt.

Adalberto does not react well to the pregnancy news, sputtering that he has a wife and two daughters. Perhaps he might have considered that previously???

Gigi sends Adalberto a picture of his newly impregnated girlfriend with Sebas. Sara meets with Seb which seems to go rather peacefully.

Yes, Emi does tell Leo that she caught Roberta and Fidel in a compromising position and Leo’s wheels are turning.

Roberta wants to leave Emi homeless apparently. I assume she thinks she will have custody of Nico very quickly.

Orlando popped up in several scenes. Not sure what he did or said, I was happy just watching 😊

Leo walks in a beautiful white house and tells the realtor this is it. In the most poignant moment of the night, Emilia tells Leo she loves him and the soft expression on her face is luminous. They kiss tenderly. He proposes marriage and they adjourn to the bedroom where a few quick shots show their devotion and passion.

Thank you Jarifa for bringing us all the highs and lows! This family sure has been through a lot and it just keeps coming!

I agree Fernando is being a jerk but JJ is over the line too. Bringing up the job with Imelda after Fernando had already said the timing isn't right was out of line. I'm not saying that Fernando is right in deciding for Imelda, because he isn't; but after your business partner shoots something down in the meeting to turn around and mention it again in front of his wife as if his objection never happened is disrespectful.

Marco whopping about his new job was definitely a highlight!!! I still don't know why he had to go back to the company but at least they are giving him some responsibility and not just sitting him in a corner.

It feels like Ignacio is trying to figure out what he 'should' want instead of what he does want! He 'should' want the nice mature relationship with Cass, to prove he's 'better' but it isn't what he wants so it keeps him going back and forth. I think what he DOES want is still to be with CeCe and his child, but I don't know that that would be healthy either.

Martina's scenes at the end were just scary!!!! And well acted!

Waterlily, I loved your recap! What a wonderful job.

“Let's everyone applaud because she's learnt to say something that isn't soy la patrona” was perfect!

Thank you for explaining so much that I missed especially Sara and Sebas’ conversation. Sara didn’t quite look terrified at Roberta’s threats and directive but she knows she is in trouble. Sara is smart but combating the queen of darkness will take exceptional cunning.

When the journalist was getting in her taxi and she handed the mystery person a tape, we saw someone watching from above….

“Everyone keeps asking Orlando to make sure justice wins. Mauricio's lawyer brings him papers to sign that would let M go free. He signs them i believe?” Although he’s under terrible pressure, I hope to heaven he did the right thing.

Thank you, Diana for the wonderful TinyCap!

I can't help you much with Marco and Rut because I mostly tuned them out! LOL I did catch that one of the issues is Marco wants to stop working with Grim and Rut doesn't. I'm sure that the pressure that Rut now has on him because of Esteban's complaints to the governor have a roll too. Rut wants to take action and Marco wants to play the long game and try to seduce MT.

About Valentina and Esteban, when they were talking at the beginning of the episode, Vale told Este that Bernarda had been raped and that she was the product of that rape!!! I don't know where/how she decided that because Bernarda never told her that, but she has decided it. It really makes no sense, because if Bernarda's rape had resulted in Vale, it is not likely that she would have been healed enough to be in a different relationship and have had Regina just a year later. But either way, the rapist isn't Vale's father as we know, Esteban is Vale's father as Bernarda admitted last night, and Este was thrown for a loop because he started the conversation thinking Bernarda was raped and Vale's dad was that rapist and ended up learning Vale was his!!! Also, Bernarda confirmed that when she and Este were together, it was just one time, in the midst of his grief over MT's mom and by the time she learned she was pregnant Este was already gone to the city. She never said anything because MT was a little girl and she needed her daddy who was all she had.

Jarifa, thank you so much for capturing every detail from your view from the couch.

It seems that the writers want to keep us interested until the very end.

Martina appears to be going down a slippery slope. Very sad . I don't think she will get a HEA, but as our Judyb always told us ..." Nobody gets a happy ending , but if you are lucky, you get a happy middle . Martina had 4 loving sons and their partners , devoted servants, and her teenage love came back into her life to love her in her golden years.

I feel bad that Lucas's messages from his mother were stolen from him. Those types of things are precious and irreplacable.

Okay...Violetta has some major problem because a young, pretty girl shouldn't be obsessing over a middle aged husband and father . Lots of young guys would welcome her interest. I was thinking about what I would do in Paula's place , and I think I would have confronted sly Vi a long time ago and put her in her place .

Fernando is still having hissyfits. However, I have to admit that I have been getting bad vibes from JJ Manbun. Maybe I still see him as Cornelio who was always kicked around by Pedro in Herencia.

TIERRA

Oh Darcy, thank you so much for providing Valentina and Esteban's very important conversation! Poor Val! It didn't seem to be in Bernarda's character to have slept with Esteban if his wife had been alive so glad that wasn't the case.

She never said anything because MT was a little girl and she needed her daddy who was all she had hurt my heart. Bernarda is so unselfish, her steely outward resolve belies a lifetime of self sacrifice. And heartache.

Your explanation of Marco and Rut's disagreement was perfect.

As always, your comments are gold Darcy. Thank you!!

Great work, Jarifa. You didn't miss a thing.

Violetta's antics probably will end with Paula getting rid of her. This could result in a rift between JJ and Rogelio, but I can appreciate Rogelio's discomfort at the prospect of reporting this behavior to JJ. I have worked in offices where nepotism was happening and it is only broken with tremendous difficulty in the absence of gross incompetence. However, when JJ shook his head saying "Violettita" to himself that says that he is somewhat aware of her deficiencies. But Rogelio doesn't know that.

He does know about Fernando's incompetence, however, and this is a bad combination along with Fernando's toxic envy. Martina takes at least half the responsibility for that; the rest is mostly circumstance.

Here's hoping that nothing happens to Jazz tonight. Martina really needs another exam ASAP and her family needs to make decisions about her. She probably can't be left alone anywhere and either they will need a live-in nurse or put her in a nursing home. And keep Beatriz as far away from her as possible because Beatriz is the gossip she claims to fear.

As for Ignacio...

He may unconsciously fear that a potential stepfather would abuse Cecelia's baby as his stepfather had abused him. Without a real window to his past we can't determine to what degree he came to see this as a norm. How socially isolated were he and Irma? Did he even have friends in school? I don't recall him talking about this with his shrink and we've had no flashbacks to it. Of course, there is also the misogynistic obsession with possession. Ignacio's padrastra was probably the only man in Irma's life after Hipolito's death so there is no good example within Ignacio's experience. Even if Ricardo is a great example that is unlikely to appease Ignacio because he will take it as proof of his own inadequacy.

Minas

Thanks so much, Waterlily for the terrific recap and Diana for the amazing highlights!

Waterlily, you'd make a very good recapper. Consider it! I was unsure at first but I'm happy I tried it!

I loved "Adalberto does not react well to the pregnancy news, sputtering that he has a wife and two daughters. Perhaps he might have considered that previously???" (Diana), "Let's everyone applaud because she's learnt to say something that isn't soy la patrona." (Waterlily ) and "Those two have about one brain cell between them " (Waterlily)

Where to start... Why do all these women put up with Adalberto? I can think of a million adjectives to describe him, none of which are good.

Roberta is tiring.

Also, "impowered women's nonsense"? When was Sara ever empowered? Last time I checked, being empowered WASN'T running around behind a guy who obviously doesn't want you and making plans to ruin someone's life (Emi's) to get said guy.

I'll write something for tomorrow.

Minas

Gracias, Waterlily and Diana. I agree with the other comments on the best phrases.

Loved the proposal followed by consummation. This will be the first real sex for Emilia. Let's hope she doesn't freak out at the top of tonight's episode.

I concur about Sara's faux independence.

How in hell can Mauricio go free after that confession? Whom does Roberta have to bribe or blackmail for that?

Finally, Addled-berto has to face the music although Miriam would be better off leaving town for greener pastures. It will be hilarious when his crazy wife confronts him.

Super job, Jarifa.

Cass is into Ignacio more than she wants to admit to herself. Why else would you want to live with a guy who's just-ex is about to have their baby. Ignacio needs to be alone to work on himself. He's not ready for any partner.

Urban, I didn't think about Ignacio worrying a stepdad could endanger his child, but you hit it. He should talk to the shrink about that.

JJ wants more than PR from Imelda. The woman has never worked a day in her life and has rotten people skills which she can barely hide.

Fernando is silly, but ITA he does have a point about being excluded from meetings about his own idea.

Poor Martina. Paula, hurry back.

Minas

Waterlily,Weirdo, and Diana, thank you, all for recapping.

I love both Leo and Seb. They are both strong, protective, steadfast , calm, and gentle ....my type. Sign me up. I wish Em could have them both. No? So, what will be Seb's fate? He is too good to waste. I definitely don't want to have nasty, scheming , pompous Sara end up with this truly nice guy . I kind of think he will end up with Miriam ,who is so infatuated with him and has no future with creepy Addled. Not thrilled but better than Sara, who I cannot stand.

Wow,Leo knows how to get things done. Did he buy a house , furnish it , and set up dinner and end entertainment all in one day ?

The love scene was discreet ...well, my recording shut off , so what I saw was discreet.

Liz, Thanks. "The men with the babies was cute and lighthearted. Much needed in a night of heavy drama." I, also, enjoyed the breaks with the men managing very well taking care of the kids and watching the GAME at the same time. "Paula never should have left the baby with Martina. She has seen the episodes Martina is having. " You can say that again. Paula clearly was not thinking. Poor Jazz! It is good that she doesn't know what is going on. Just think of the stories the family will have to tell her when she grows up. I hope this storyline is short-lived.

Darcy, LOL. the action never stops! "Marco whopping about his new job was definitely a highlight!!! I still don't know why he had to go back to the company but at least they are giving him some responsibility and not just sitting him in a corner." And he will be making a lot better money than he ever would have made at the garage and he still will be involved with keeping the vehicles running. "t feels like Ignacio is trying to figure out what he 'should' want instead of what he does want! He 'should' want the nice mature relationship with Cass, to prove he's 'better' but it isn't what he wants so it keeps him going back and forth. I think what he DOES want is still to be with CeCe and his child, but I don't know that that would be healthy either." ITA with your assessment of the situation.

Urban, Thanks. "However, when JJ shook his head saying "Violettita" to himself that says that he is somewhat aware of her deficiencies. But Rogelio doesn't know that." Exactly. Also, even though JJ is aware of Violetita's deficiencies as a worker, I do believe that he has NO idea of her designs on Rogelio. I cannot imagine how embarrassed JJ would be. On the other hand, if she and Rogelio ended up in a compromising situation engineered by Violeta, would he be able to believe that Violeta and not Rogelio could be at fault? That is not a spoiler but I am imagining what is going to logically come next since Rogelio hasn't put the brakes on Violetita. I would love to see Paula do that. I bet it would be memorable.

Niecie, Thanks. "Cass is into Ignacio more than she wants to admit to herself. Why else would you want to live with a guy who's just-ex is about to have their baby. Ignacio needs to be alone to work on himself. He's not ready for any partner." Great point. For somebody supposedly so independent, she should have kept Ignacio at a distance or dumped him until he was ready for a prime time run as a boyfriend.

"ETERNAMENTE":

Jarifa: Let me guess: Paulina went full fledged STUPID again right ? Leaving the baby with Buji Martina, whom I do NOT like at all.

Has Imelda come clean & confessed her sins yet ?

I dont know how the writers decided to deal with Igy's tortured tale in the end. All I know is that every time Ceci forgave him and returned to him, he said he had changed, but he always returned to his violent ways. I dont think that his anger and emotional traumas have just disappeared. Cass hasn't been with him long enough to see his dark side . I think Ceci has finally decided that she can't trust Igy around the baby even though she herself returned to him again and again ( although WE all warned her not to. ) It must be awful to love someone but be afraid of them. What a scary, heartbreaking situation that must be . Will the writers show us that Igy has overcome his angry outbursts and give Igy a HEA with Cass? Why is be still set on continuing to hurt the Iturbides . I am really tired of him and his storyline .
