Darcy & SpanProf: Who's Carlito going to end up with in the end ? Creepy Miguel ?

Vino

Steve: I'm not sure about Creepy Miguel, she'll have to fight Erika for him!

Well, we were back today, and Marta was back to bugging me!!! Seriously, Fern is 17 (probably) let her have her crush, life will go on, college will happen, years later she'll probably get serious with the boyfriend who comes 5 boyfriends from now and you can decide whether or not that one is 'right' for her!!! Who cares whether or not a 17-year old's crush is right for them??

Gut is going all in on getting back on Lil's good side, why??? I don't get it, I don't really care either I suppose but it insults my intelligence and baffles my mind.

How is Gracie gong to escape from Spain?

This episode reminded me of a question I always had about college that I never got answered. I grew up believing you HAD to take the SATs to get into college and if you didn't get a good score you were sunk. Well, for whatever reason I don't remember now, I never took the SATs and I never found the place on the college application that asked for the score.... lol! I did start at community college and then transfer to Cal State Fullerton, but I never did figure out why no one ever asked for that all important SAT score I didn't have.

Okay, I am officially on vacation!!! I will be traveling to San Francisco tomorrow and to Crescent City on Monday so I will probably comment on Friday's episode on Saturday or Sunday and on Monday's episode sometime on Tuesday. I will be with family who don't speak Spanish or watch Spanish TV so I may not watch every day over the next two weeks, but I'll definitely keep up even if I just read the recaps and comment on the episodes some days. Luckily, we have a slow-moving story so I am sure I won't miss much! :)

Vino. How long before Fer realizes that Graciela is just using her? And come on, Luciana and David, if you're going to be a couple, be a couple. I see Carito either finding someone other than Miguel or returning to Mexico. And I can hardly wait for the anvil to fall on Mark and Juan, but given that we're only a little over halfway done with this novela, it will probably be a while. Lilian is cruel as usual to Marta, and Gutierrez doesn't seem to care--yet another mark against him. Back in prehistoric times :), when I went to college, anyone in the upper 10% of their high school class was automatically admitted to one of the University of California schools. You filled out an application specifying your first 3 choices, and if you were speedy enough about getting the application in, got your 1st choice. Except for a few small fees, tuition was free. If you were in the top 1/3 of your high school class, you were automatically admitted to a Cal State. Of course that educational paradise only lasted a few years. Then as now, lots of people went to a community college for the first 2 years because they could live at home and not pay for room and board. Nowadays I believe people do take some kind of standardized test, but I'm not sure. Even then if you didn't quite qualify for a UC or Cal State, you could take the SAT and with a high enough score be admitted anyway.

Vino. I have no idea what the entrance requirements are now, and I expect the writers of this novela don't either.

Darcy: Why do I get the feeling Erika might NOT be with us much longer ?

Steve Boudreaux

Vino. Miguel and Erika seem very compatible. They have a great time at the pool hall. I think Miguel will not end up heartbroken by Luciana. He's even amused rather than angry that Erika really does know how to play pool, and very well at that, and was only fooling with him by pretending not to. A good sign.

Vino

Erika and Miguel did look cute together but she ruined it at the end when she went back to the vineyard and demanded that Luci leave Miguel alone! I am so annoyed by people who demand you leave someone alone when you aren’t bugging them, I mean she broke up with him, he left, she hasn’t spoken to him since that we’ve seen so what to do??? Oh, I know let’s storm over there and tell her to leave him alone!!!! So dumb

I wish they had shown us Gracie’s wonderful inspired painting! She’s so focused on getting home she’s like, yeah that’s nice I am going home! Lol
