Notes from the couch . . .

MARTINA

Martina is approached by a doctor who is assisting people in the park and asks if she needs any help. While she talks to him, she returns to herself and tells Jazz that her mom will be back. Martina apologizes. The doctor asks if he can help. She says no and he excuses himself. Paula comes back and never finds out what happened. When they get home, Martina says she is very tired and goes to her room. Paula thinks she is acting strangely and Felipa has to agree.

Martina goes to see her doctor and tells him that she is not feeling herself and is forgetting a lot of things. He thinks that the stress she has been under has a lot to do with it. Martina knows that stress very well and says her name was "Olimpia". They laugh. He thinks she needs a good check up and orders lab tests. She asks him not to tell anyone from her family that she was there.

Martina attends a foundation meeting where Beatriz announces she is running for president. She asks if they can all support her. Martina says she can't because she is running herself. Several women softly applaud. Beatriz brings up what she sees as Martina's weaknesses as a candidate but Martina insists that she is just happy to be able to help so many needy people. She is feeling very well., thank you!

THE ROBBERY

Benito has good news. The thieves were caught. Rogelio brings a duffel bag home with everything that was stolen. Lucas gets his tablet back with his mother's recordings.

IMELDA

Imelda is insistent about wanting to go to work. She knows she doesn't need to but she wants to do it for herself. Fernando is insistent that it isn't the right time. She fears that it will never be the right time where he is concerned. She needs to pick up the kids at her mother's and asks if they can continue this conversation. He says that they can, but he has said what he has to say.

Imelda asks Paula what Rogelio was like when she wanted to go work. Paula says that he met her when she was working and that he always knew that she wasn't going to give up her music. Imelda explains that JJ wants to hire her to run PR at the company. Paula asks if it is a done deal. Imelda says it is for her but not for Fernando who wants her home taking care of the kids. Paula says that she can depend on her support.

Rogelio, Fernando, Fidel and JJ have a meeting. Rogelio and JJ agree that they need a PR person. Fernando sees it as an unnecessary expense. JJ says that people need to know Iturbide Transportation is back! Fidel is worried by the cost. JJ has done a cost analysis and hands it out everyone. After looking at it, Rogelio tells JJ to go ahead. JJ announces that he is going to get Imelda for the job. Fernando insists that Imelda has no time for work. JJ says that is a decision for Imelda to make and tells Violeta to schedule a meeting with her. Fernando goes crazy and Fidel has to stop him from going after JJ.

ETERNAMENTE Page two

JJ interviews Imelda. He knows she doesn't have to work, so why does she want the job? She says it is time for her to prove to herself that she is capable of doing something. She knows that Fernando doesn't agree but she feels that he will come around rather quickly. She asks if she will have her own office. JJ says no, she won't. She doesn't care. She can work from home and come in when they need her. She accepts the job offer. JJ will be in touch. He welcomes her with a hand shake and holds her hand waaay too long.

Fernando is not happy that Imelda accepted the job. He says that they should have talked it over (wasn't he the one who said before that she knew what he thought so there was no need to talk?) He reminds her that they have kids. She reminds him that the kids belong to both of them. They can trade off days to take care of them. She is taking Mon, Tues, Wed, and he can do Thurs and Fri. He thinks she must be joking. NO, she isn't because that is how things are nowadays when both parents work. She tells him he better to get ready to take care of the kids on Fri because she is now #Imeldaentrepreneur.

CASS

Ignacio visits Cass and talks her into moving in with him.His invitation sounds like a marriage proposal at the beginning but he is clear to add "without formalizing the relationship" at the end. She accepts.

Cass later visits with Eva and asks what kind of a person Ceciia is. Eva asks why does she want to know. Cass tells her about moving in with Ignacio. Eva is very upset and warns Ceci how violent and abusive Ignacio can be. She tries to tell her about what happened with Ceciia but Cass doesn't care. She believes that every relationship is different and she wants to hope again. Eva will let Cecilia know what is happening.

VIOLETA

Paula gets a friend request from Violeta and complains to Rogelio saying they are not friends. He says he cannot control Violeta's social media. He thinks Paula probably gets requests like that from tens of people everyday. She should just forget about it. She brings up Violeta going out for coffee with him. He insists that never happened. She asks how could Violeta have his phone and be answering it. He has no idea and has clearly tired of the topic.

Violeta come to see Rogelio and he as requested. She brings him a cactus as a little gift. He asks her why she answered his phone when his wife called and told her that they were out having coffee. Violeta denies it all. She would never answer his phone.

That night both Rogelio and Paula get hang up calls when they are getting ready to sleep. Paula thinks it must be Violeta. Rogelio doesn't understand why she would think that.

Violeta takes a photo of two cups of coffee and labels it "coffee for the boss" and sends it to Paula who cannot believe she would do something like that.

ETERNAMENTE Page three

LUIS

Luis calls Andrea. They miss each other. She says if anyone heard them talking like this after a canceled wedding they would think they are crazy. They both admit that they are. He wants to read her something that he wrote for her. "He wants to be a part of her story so that some day she will be the one to tell his." She thinks that is a big responsibility. He tells her there are second chances but a third chance might be hard to come by. She has to think about it but will need to see him in person to give him the answer. He will come to Mexico City as soon as he can. He suggests she could come to Morelia. She reminds him she already went there. It is his turn.

PAULA AND LUCAS

Lucas tells Paula that he has a mother taking care of him from up in heaven and he has her, his mother down here to clean his wounds. Paula tells him she loves him and gives him a big hug.

BLANCA

Blanca learns that as an interior designer, the customer calls the shots.

TORO AND CHUY

Toro has a coughing fit and tells Marco and Chuy he has emphysema. Toro is moving to Veracruz because the doctor told him being at sea level is better for his illness .(Morelia is around 6300 ft above sea level) He has family there and will start a similar business.

Chuy tells Marco he doesn't know what he is going to do now. With his severance pay, he will only be able to pay off debt. Marco says he can get him a job at his family's business. Chuy is overjoyed.

IGNACIO AND THE ITURBIDES

Fidel tells Rogelio that ignacio's bus company has quickly become a first class organization. Rogelio wonders what Rogelio's intention is towards them. Fidel says he wants to steal their customers. Rogelio answers with "The sun rises for everyone but you have to work hard to deserve the shade" Fidel likes that. Rogelio reminds Fidel that Ignacio is a formidable opponent and they need to be very careful around him. He doesn't want Ignacio to catch them off guard (lotsa' luck). Fidel asks how? Rogelio says he is working on it and will let him know.

An Iturbide bus is full of passengers is ready to head to Mexico City when the driver cannot start the bus. Fidel gets a call that that two of their buses have pitted oil tanks. (somebody made holes in them) The leaks were intentionally made. The drivers insist the buses were fine when they were checked out earlier in the morning. The passengers are getting upset. Violeta calls her uncle. Some body (perhaps a journalist who was planted on the bus) from the bus releases the news to social media and the internet. Ignacio's saboteur calls him to tell him the skullduggery is done. JJ appears in Rogelio's office. They go down to the buses and soon Ignacio appears and tells the passengers to come with him and they will get their bus ride free to Mexico City.

ETERNAMENTE Page four

Rogelio meets with Ignacio and Fernando afterwards. Rogelio thanks Ignacio for his assistance. Ignacio says it was a pleasure to help them out. if they have a problem, they only have to call him. He isn't spiteful. Rogelio has an offer for Ignacio. He would like him to be an advisor to their company for which he would receive a percentage of the profits. Fernando goes off one more time. Ignacio accepts. When Ignacio leaves, Rogelio tries to explain to Fernando that he suspects that ignacio was responsible for the sabotage. so he gave him the job because of what their mom has always said about keeping their enemies close. Fernando doesn't get it.

Martina is not happy when she gets the news of everything that happened at the company. She feels like she doesn't have a vote or a voice any more. Rogelio says there was a problem and they took care of it. Fernando lets her know that Rogelio hired Ignacio as an advisor. She doesn't like that either.

Martina tells Gabriel that Rogelio made Ignacio an advisor. Gabriel doesn't think that was a bad move. Rogelio tells the family to trust him. They need to know what Ignacio is up to. Fernando harps on the fact that Rogelio made the Ignacio decision on his own one more time.

The next morning, Martina gathers the whole family at breakfast. She has come to a decision. She is signing all of her shares in the company over to Gabriel so he can be her ears and voice at the board meetings. Her sons clearly look like they don't like that decision.

That is all I have. Please feel free to add anything else I left out.

eternamente
Why is it that both Rogelio and Fernando are like a dog with a bone when they dislike something their wives are doing? Fernando should realise he lost the battle here and his tantrums won't change a thing. If anything, Imelda will be even more insistant as anyone who has ever tried stopping a person from doing something would know. Rogelio is way too dismissive of the issue with Violeta.'tired of the topic'...I can only imagine how tired Paula was of his jealousy fits.I bet he wouldn't have brought up that supposed coffee break if Paula hadn't got so angry. It's like it doesn't bother him at all Violeta is way out of line. I don't get it at all. How can he be so oblivious? They are dragging this out and so it makes him seem almost stupid or oblivious to an incredible degree.
What was up with those hang up calls? And the pictures? Surely she realises Paula knows the truth. Unless shethinks she'll start doubting the reality if V tries hard enough.
It's really a pity JJ has other intentions with Imelda because she genuinely seems to want to work. I can't stand people like him. It makes you think no one ever does anything without some ulterior motive.
Luis and Andrea still somehow bore me.
I wonder what Casandra is going to do if Ignacio becomes violent. It sounded as though she didn't really believe Eva or at least thought'this won't happen to me because I won't let it happen' 'Every relationship is different'? Is it really when we are talking about an abusive person?
I wonder what Blanca expected would happen. I mean, did she think she could come up with whatever design she liked when she is the one providing a service? Don't they have a class about having to adapt to client's wishes at that uni she's attending?

Minas

I'm working on the recap for #26. It'll be up later today.

ETERNAMENTE

Jarifa, this was an exercise in excellence. I wanted to cut and paste every intuitive word.

Love #Imeldaentrepreneur.

After watching JJ openly coveting Imelda and latching onto her hand for those few extra seconds, one has to conclude that obsession is a family trait. Naturally hotheaded Fernando rises to the bait and rather than dealing with him coldly and calmly, his volatile self, exploding in anger and spewing nonsense that “Imelda has no time for work”. I do like that Imelda told him he has babysitting responsibilities and is responsible for handling several days a week. I am really interested to see how this all works out.

A shame that Violeta is causing a rift between Rogelio and Paula. Girl has got to go…It was nice that Lucas referred to Paula as his mother here on earth.

I understand Rogelio offered Fernando the job to keep an eye on him, but I feel Martina has a point in that it didn’t quite seem to be the appropriate response for his sabotage.

“Chuy tells Marco he doesn't know what he is going to do now. With his severance pay, he will only be able to pay off debt. Marco says he can get him a job at his family's business. Chuy is overjoyed” was the highlight of the night for me. Chuy is such an affectionate person, first trying to hug Toro and then Marco who gently pushed him away. So glad he won’t be left back, on his own.

Cassandra’s outsize silver hoop earrings and braided silver collar were tonight’s fashion accessory favorites.

I loved the Days of Our Lives” sands through the…” hourglass on the desk. I know of several folks who have lawyers who use them during meetings.

Is something wrong with Felipe? Something seems off.

Eternamente

Thanks, Jarifa, that was excellent.

Fernando is not a happy camper. He really has a temper, trying to go after Jj just for offering Imelda a job. I’m glad Imelda accepted but I think she’s going to realize she wasn’t hired on her merits.

Ignacio is a strange one. He gave them back their house but is still after them to destroy their business. He did say the war wasn’t over. But I think he’s going to have to end up in jail. What he’s doing is criminal and hopefully the brothers won’t forgive him. I hope Cassandra sees the true Ignacio soon. I don’t understand what they see in him! I think Cecilia still cares for him too. But I would be afraid to have him alone with the baby. He’ll impart his anger and revenge ideas on him and Cecelia will end up with a troubled child

Violeta is something else. She lied to Rogelio. Eventually he’s going to have to decide who to believe. He better pick Paula! I agree with Paula that Violeta made the hang up calls. I’m now wondering if obsession is a family trait. We’ll have to see what happens with JJ and Imelda.

Liz

ETERNAMENTE

waterlily, excellent comment:" I wonder what Casandra is going to do if Ignacio becomes violent. It sounded as though she didn't really believe Eva or at least thought'this won't happen to me because I won't let it happen'" Cass' attitude was unbelievable and delusional. "Rogelio is way too dismissive of the issue with Violeta.'tired of the topic'..." That is why I call him a blockhead. One thing I think we can predict is that that Violeta has even more fun planned for him. What will it take for him to "get it"? How much damage does she have to do to his marriage.?

Diana, thanks. "After watching JJ openly coveting Imelda and latching onto her hand for those few extra seconds, one has to conclude that obsession is a family trait." Loved that! Now, will Imelda go for the bait or stay faithful to the increasingly unattractive Fernando? The big baby talked out of both sides of his mouth with Imelda. He was done talking about her working and then wondered why they weren't talking about her working. He is the most immature of all of the sons and the most unlikeable and lazy. Maybe he doesn't get more responsibility at work because he isn't good at his job. it was a sweet scene with Lucas and Paula.

ETERNAMENTE

Liz, "Ignacio is a strange one. He gave them back their house but is still after them to destroy their business. He did say the war wasn’t over. But I think he’s going to have to end up in jail. What he’s doing is criminal and hopefully the brothers won’t forgive him. " I do not get him at all. Why did he run in to "rescue" them which is how he seemed to describe his action of providing the bus service to Mexico City? ? I thought he came over to steal their customers. "I’m glad Imelda accepted but I think she’s going to realize she wasn’t hired on her merits." Oh, yeah, but will she appreciate the attention considering what she has at home? I am hoping so. ; )

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 26 - Jueves, 6 de Octubre, 2023

And everything will be okay... Or will it? - Part 1/3

We see Emi and Leo together again. She says she never thought it could be this way, so nice and pure.

Seb is talking to Salvador's mom, who freaks out when Seb asks her if she's willing to testify and shuts the door.

Emi tells Leo about the situation with her house.

Roberta screams at Orlando for not releasing Mau yet. She threatens him with his and his father's esteem from the public and he lets him go. Mau whines because Roberta always interferes with everything. He gets a slap and her whining that he wouldn't have lasted 2 hours in prison. She grabs him and pushes him out.

Míriam calls Addled-berto about some __ de compromiso (I kept hearing niño, but they must have said anillo - wedding ring). She says they'll have a kid together. His response: "sure, whatever" *hangs up*. Wow, Míriam. A simply terrific choice, going out with him. Berta screams at him and says she knew he was cheating on her with esa. That miserable infeliz tells her she should consider what she did in order for him to get a mistress! Berta, proving she has no dignity, says that if he doesn't give her everything she wants when she wants and how she wants, she'll tell everyone about this and his image will be ruined. She then mocks him about telling everyone family is the most important thing (okay, she does have a point here). These two deserve each other.

Leo and Emi tell Tigre, Zaira and Seb about their marriage. Seb talks about the whole Salvador situation; they had some sort of accident and found him alive, with many wounds, but alive. Afterwards though, he mysteriously died; it wasn't caused by the wounds and they still can't find what happened. Emi says something about not having proof. I'm still confused with this plot line.

It's the next day?

Joaquina is talking to, uh, no one. Well, she's technically talking to Ignacio, but he's dead. She says she has muchos pecados muy grandes (many very big sins) and picks up a book about mines from Ig's bookcase. She flips the pages and finds the letter he wrote to Emi before he died, the one in which he told her he left her the Cueva del Diablo. She thanks Ignacio and hides the letter.

Emi has some sort of exam. Seb enters, looking not so happy. Emi asks him if it's about her marriage with Leo. He says it's not that, he wants her to be happy, even if that's not with him (aw. I like this guy.) And then he spills the frijoles; Mau is free. Emi leaves her house, enraged. Seb goes behind her.

Leo is getting the house ready when Sara comes. He asks her how did she find him; she laughs and says "this is a village". She had a friend that had a friend. She adds "this is the house you wanted; the only thing missing is the wife, the kids and the dog". Leo says "actually, just the dog" (LOL) and informs her of his upcoming marriage with Emi and Nico being his son. Actually, the dog isn't missing; Leo has a perra right in front of him!

Qué tal si dejaaaamos, el orgullo para luego... (yep, intro song)

Roberta whines to Fidel about Mau and Emi. The estupida periodista is an honourable mention. She then tells him her plans; she's going to close the mine and lie to everyone that it's quebra, that the business failed. "The miners are stupid, they'll believe everything I tell them", she claims. (Oh well, judging by Ramiro, they're not the sharpest knives in the drawer...) Of course, Joaquina, the Ever Present Ear, overhears this. She doesn't really hide the fact she overheard. Fidel is worried; Roberta is not. She says Joaquina needs her.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 26 - Jueves, 6 de Octubre, 2023

And everything will be okay... Or will it? - Part 2/3

Sara tells Leo that the one who stole the money was Roberta, she framed Seb and shows him some papers. An eye for an eye, I guess. She says she knows he doesn't love her anymore, but she does and that's why she's showing him this. He thanks her.

Emi and Seb go to the mines. Patricio tells them she and Tigre can't work there anymore. Emi screams that Mau raped her, that he and his mother are criminals and calls Roberta maldita desgraciada. Patricio gives her a check, to shut her mouth I assume, which she tears and says she swears there will be justice in San Lorenzo one day. They leave.

Jenny goes to Orlando's. She says she was a coward. The conversation shifts to Fidel, Jenny tells him to distance himself from Fidel. He says he can't, he's his only family after him mom disappeared. Jenny asks him why he doesn't search for her; he replies he's scared to know what happened to her. Jenny says she'll help him find her and she enters her name (Aleida Cervantes) on Google.

Emi and Seb are in a forest(?). She's crying. "I'm tired; I can't fight anymore". Joaquina thinks otherwise; she comes and tells Emi she can help her beat Roberta. She gives her the letter, Emi reads it and is shocked.

Mau is drinking. Roberta sees this and Mau says he wants to be left alone. The following dialogue occurs, sliiightly modified because I didn't write every single word:

Roberta: Aren't you tired of being a coward?
Mauricio: And aren't you tired of messing with my life (meterte en mi vida)? Leave me alone.
R: I'm the one who got you out of jail! I'm protecting you and our family.
M: You call this a family? That's hell!
R: No, you don't know what living in hell feels like, Mauricio. But I learned it ever since I was young.
~Flashback~
We see a family. The mom and dad are sleeping on the floor. The one girl is in a corner, crying. The other one enters. She wakes up the dad and tells him she got some cash. The mom wakes up too and they both scream at her for not making enough. The dad tells her to go outside again. She asks them not to, it's late and no one would want to ___. (There's a problem here; I'm positive she said "me compre", but the translation is weird; "buy me". I guess she said "buy FROM me"? But "buy from me" is "comprar de mí" and I'm pretty sure that's not what I heard. Am I missing something?) The dad gets up and the girl says "don't hit me, please!"
~End of flashback~
"I know what's like not having. But that story won't get repeated, not with you nor with my grandson", Roberta says. Mau says that his life is already lost, Emi and Nico will never love him. Roberta goes from normal to crazy villana in seconds and says Emi will disappear from their lives. Mau tells her not to do anything. Roberta says something like "Nico is the future of this family". Uh oh.
(Okay, so the girl with the money must have been Roberta. Would that mean the other one is Joaquina? Except if it's some family member we don't know of yet.)

More boring Sara talk. At least she says she'll go back in México (City).

Joaquina shares Roberta's plans with Emi. She says it'll be the end of San Lorenzo if the mine closes. Jo tells her she (Emi) is the hope the people need.

Jenny and Orlando are still searching, but no luck. There are too many women called Aleida Cervantes. Jenny kisses Orlando and then says sorry. After some "you're my best friend and I thought you were gay" talk, they kiss again.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 26 - Jueves, 6 de Octubre, 2023

And everything will be okay... Or will it? - Part 3/3

Leo calls some dudes and they talk about the papers with Seb's signature. I think they say that yes, they could have been done by someone else. Patricio, who's right next to Leo, is sweating like a pig. When Leo gives some papers to the two men he invited, Patricio says they can give him the documents. Leo says no. Patricio is acting more awkwardly. I wonder why... (irony) The secretary, Dolores or whatever her name is, comes in and says that the mine is closing.

Emi goes to jail to visit the notary. She says she'll help him if he helps her. She shows him the letter and he confirms la Cueva del Diablo is her property.

Jo says she was at church. Roberta has packed her and Mau's bags to leave. I hope they leave forever, but this is a telenovela, so they won't.

Emi tells Seb la Cueva del Diablo IS her property. They hug. She calls Leo, who says he has news for her. Emi says "oh, you heard about Mau getting released?" Leo didn't know about this. He tells her to come by his house.

Jo tells Leo about Roberta and Mau leaving. Emi teleports right outside of his house and enters. He tells them about Roberta's fraud and they conclude that's why they left. Marijó comes in and asks them what's up. They tells her the situation and they announce their marriage. Emi adds that she's the owner of la Cueva del Diablo. They say that everything will go well.

Months later...

Emi opens la Cueva del Diablo, which is now called La Gloria. She, Tigre and Leo have short speeches, mostly thanking Ignacio.

Some little girl calls Emi "Patrona". She says she doesn't want to be called that and proposes she calls her "Minera" instead.

Zaira comes by and Tigre has that one face when he sees her. Zaira looks like she has a bad feeling generally. She prays for Emi's protection.

Gael asks Marijó if she would like to be his novia. She says yes and they kiss.

Everything seems to be going perfect. Until a fancy car comes in the fiesta. It's Roberta, who I'm convinced has a teleportation device which she uses every time someone else is getting called "Patrona", and Mau. Leo tells Mau he's not welcome here. Roberta says he should respect his brother; he is, after all, Nico's actual father. She tells Nico that she's his grandmother.

And with Nico's confused face, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

Thank you Jarifa, I too loved #Imeldaentrepreneur!

I think it could be as simple as Ignacio wants attention! He doesn't want to (or maybe even just thinks he can't) just be nice and be family but he also doesn't want to be abandoned!! Have the Iturbides just turn the page and forget all about him? Treat him as if he doesn't exist? You know, like how he didn't exist all those years growing up??? No way!!! He doesn't want to be forgotten or ignored or moved on for. It feels very much like an 'I'm still here' attention grab! In that sense, giving him an advisor position in the company may not be such a bad idea. But making the decision alone, just proves that Rogelio is self completely self-absorbed!! He doesn't give anyone else an opportunity or a voice and when he's 'tired' of a topic the discussion is over no matter how Paula feels. He's just a jackass, period. #getaclueRogelio!

Fernando is a whiner, maybe there's hope for Luis and Marco!

I don't like that Paula never found out about Martina's episode. The doctor in the park should have stayed and made sure Paula knew.

*** moved on from.

Eternamente

Jarifa, you are amazing, and I appreciate your recaps so much .

Paula should never have left Jazz alone with Martina knowing that Martina has been having moments for confusion . Sometimes you have to face the facts .

I have not had a good feeling about JJ. Perhaps he is as crazy as his niece . Getting in between a husband and wife is not a good idea , and he seems to have plans for seducing Imelde.

What is up with Violeta? She just gets increasingly weird. Is she trying to gaslight both clueless Rog and Paula? Is she really after Rog , or is she just one of those people who likes to stir the pot and cause chaos? People like that crave constant attention and so they create drama. Gee, what is her problem?

How many episodes are left before the writers have to wrap up these storylines ?

I can understand why the sons don't want Martina to sign over her shares.

Tierra de Esperanza 10/5/23
Episode 47: Part 1 of 2

Marco took Maria Teresa's checque but paused when she asked for the deeds.

Valentina and Regina told Bernarda she was the best mother in the world. They seemed not to care who their sperm donors were. Bernarda cried as she hugged both girls.

Marco returned the deeds to Maria Teresa. He tried to get Maria Teresa to go out with him but she begged off due to work. As she left he he realized he had just lost the upper hand.

Rut escorted a blindfolded Norma to the dinner table which had trays of bread, cheese, and fruit. He then poured red wine. This was so unlike him.

Genoveva was a little annoyed at Cris distributing the sandwiches she brought to the fields. She scolded him and he teased her after that.

Rut started by saying he felt “like before” when she came first into his life. She felt as though he used work to avoid coming home. He told Norma that since Clemente was born she gave all her attention to him. “You became a mother and stopped being a wife.” [Sadly, she fell for this.]

Esteban took his pills and Nani told him he looked pale. He told her he had been unprepared for the past confronting him.

Norma wanted Rut to make up with Clemente but he changed the subject. He talked falsehoods about reviving their marriage.

That night Esteban looked at a photo of Lucia and Maria Teresa. He talked about being lost without Lucia, whom he said was the love of his life. He told Maria Teresa he had lived for her ever since. Maria Teresa was very understanding but didn't like to see him so sad. She told him he was a great father.

Trejo told Rut that nothing was going wrong at La Esperanza. Rut told Trejo that they needed to get everything under control because the governor was on his case. Then Grim called him with bad news that something had gone wrong at the brothel. He sounded scared. [So where is Susi now?]

Clemente talked with Camila to have her find Regina to tell her about his discovery of a surgery that would enable her to hear. She was to look for Santos if necessary.

Marco and Rut talked about Grim. Rut started by blaming Esteban for the additional security and Marco said “If Santos is the problem, we kill him.” Rut looked a little shocked, saying they had to do this carefully. Marco proposed inciting violence among the peóns and getting the Jackal to kill him.

Camila told Clemente she would help him and get Remedios involved. She also anticipated that Bernarda would be a problem. He said he would get a job as a waiter in the meantime to make money.

Maria Teresa and Nani talked about Esteban. Nani remembered that he had slept near Maria Teresa in the days following Lucia's death in case she needed him.

The Jackal answered Marco's summons and heard the plan. However, Marco did not explain it at the level of detail he had discussed with Rut. They drank to it.

Maria Teresa recalled her mother's death and Esteban's departure from the ranch. He had been so filled with sadness that they went to the city. They had left quickly.

Valentina told Santos why Regina tried to leave the ranch. She mentioned Adriana's offer. She said that there seemed to be a lot that Bernarda had not told them about her. Santos told her that any job offer at La Soltera would not lead to anything good.

Tierra de Esperanza 10/5/23
Episode 47: Part 2 of 2

Marco went to the stables but Bernarda wasn't having any. She refused to be used by him now that he was pursuing Maria Teresa.

Esteban called Villalobos (his lawyer) to make changes to his will.

Marco told Bernarda he's make it up to her and she wasn't buying it. He actually got on his knees in front of her but she was unmoved. He tried to kiss her forcefully and she rejected him.

Camila went to Remedios' shop and told her about Clemente's discovery. They talked about the purity of his love for Regina. Remedios said she would send Santos to her.

Maria Teresa told her dad she was going on her morning constitutional. He said he used to do this with Lucia. Just after he asked to join her Marco arrived to crash the party.

Santos was alone, breaking ground with a pick-axe when the Jackal arrived. He told him to leave. The Jackal did not wait for the opportunity to enact Marco's plan. He provoked Santos with slurs against Maria Teresa – calling her a lazy slut – and began a brutal fight.

Adriana trespassed onto La Esperanza and provoked Bernarda by accusing her of holding her daughters back, even saying that the animals were disgusting and calling Bernarda herself a poor example of womanhood. This became an argument.

The Jackal got up and drew a pistol, aiming it at Santos. They struggled over it. Valentina and Cris arrived.

Bernarda told Adriana off which provoked more insults.

Valentine tried to stop the fight. Marco, Esteban, and Maria Teresa arrived at the scene just as Santos knocked the Jackal down. Maria Teresa lost her temper and called Santos an imbecile.

Regina and Bernarda talked and Regina told her that she needed her own life. She had returned because of Clemente. Bernarda told her that nobody trusts anyone from La Soltera. Regina explained that she feared Bernarda's mistrust. Bernarda asked Regina what she had to do to get her trust back.

Valentina told Maria Teresa that Santos was right. Marco began insulting Santos, saying he should be in prison for life. Maria Teresa told him to go to the clinic with the Jackal and he left with a threat. After he left Maria Teresa told Santos that this was the last time she would tolerate this. She said that had she not gotten there when she had he would have killed the Jackal. She then flipped out at Santos, exactly as Marco planned.

Regina tried explaining about Clemente. Bernarda cried.

Maria Teresa sent Valentina back with Esteban to talk privately with Santos who then told her he had only been defending her honor. She did not allow him to explain as she did not accept any excuse for violence. He said that if she did not trust him he would have to leave.

Clemente called Camila as he was on the way home.

Valentina ran back to her mother and told her about the fight. Bernarda wanted to go there but Valentina said not to because it had gotten very bad. Bernarda said that nobody from La Soltera respected anyone.

The Jackal was hospitalized. Marco sat at his bedside and coldly reproached him for botching this. He asked where the pistol was. The Jackal said he had been distracted. Marco said that the only good thing was that Maria Teresa saw the fight in all its bloody inglory. The Jackal said to get Pepe to retrieve the pistol. Marco agreed but told him that he was responsible if Pepe did not find it.

Reluctantly Maria Teresa said his departure would be better. He said he had never seen the day he would leave the land he loved so much but he could not stay there with Marco ending up with it... and her. He told her to be careful because Marco was deceiving her. She cried as he walked away and she whispered “Goodbye, Santos.”

MINAS

Weirdo, your recap was outstanding!

I am so grateful for your ability to provide much needed wry humor including “Addled-berto” and “Actually, the dog isn't missing; Leo has a perra right in front of him!” Your vocabulary including “muchos pecados muy grandes (many very big sins)” and “messing with my life (meterte en mi vida)” was marvelous.

“And everything will be okay... Or will it?” We know Emilia was thrown a life raft with Ignacio’s letter but with Roberta’s non triumphant return, I have little doubt this storyline will soon be taking a dire, dark turn.

Happy to see Jenny helping Orlando search for his mother. I’m sorry Orlando caved and released Mauricio. Orlando is a good man but must realize that sooner or later, he is going to have to go against Fidel, who will surely be demanding Orlando do more and far worse things.

Your relating Mau and Roberta’s conversation so perfectly was very helpful, especially as I missed her flashback. While we may have more of an understanding as to how Roberta’s early life was tragically formed, her tyranny and cruelty make it impossible to feel a scintilla of sympathy (at least for me).

Roberta was right that Mauricio “wouldn’t have lasted 2 hours in prison”. I’m still mystified as to why she is utterly obsessed with trying to make him someone he will never, ever be.

Leave it to Roberta to ruin Emilia’s shining moment, declaring to the world Nico is Mau’s. The worst moment though was seeing the utterly confounded look on Nico’s face. How could she???

Orlando and Jenny now make sense to me. Orlando is a coward apparently. But I was confused as to why the threat worked. I mean, what is it to Orlando if Roberta ruins Fidel's chances of beiing a mayor? She said something along the lines of 'if yu don't want me to lose the respect I have for you' How is that a compliment? I kind of hope I misunderstood because otherwise it's plain funny. Orlando fears being left alone, so why can't he and Jenny team up and keep each other company? I'm guessing this is a repeat of Gael and Ramses in a way. Fidel and his insults didn't help Orlando's self-esteem I imagine. But if he is affraid of learning what happened to his mum, why his father's threat he won't know what his papa discovered about her if he doesn't let M go free was supposed to help?
I was surprised Joaquina told the truth. She is affraid of Roberta and I fear she might end up dead if Roberta learns who told E about the cave.
So how exactly did Roberta convince M to pull himself together? Because she clearly wants to take Nico from her. So does he think he'll get to raise him? And he is fine with taking him from his mum, whom he claims to 'love'?
This episode was the most interesting so far. I didn't expect so much bad thiings to happen to Roberta. But then we got just one episode of positivity. The rest will be spent jin mysery. I only hope they won't do a time jump where R takes the kid and Emilia spends years trying to regain custody.
Seb is such a great guy. I would pick him over Leo at this point.
Miriam is stupid. I expected better from her. How could she expect things to change when she knows what Addled berto is like? His wife is no better. Does she have any money of her own? Because I thought she was the 'richer' one here? Or did I invent this?

Minas

Diana, ITA with your whole comment.

Just a clarification: Addled-berto wasn't made by me :) I think it is Urban's, but I'm not sure. I just loved it and decided to use it.

"I have little doubt this storyline will soon be taking a dire, dark turn" Me too. I have a feeling Roberta and Mau didn't just leave because of the mine business. Wasn't Roberta saying she'll ruin Emi? How could she do that when she was far away for so many months? I think she's planning something big.

I also can't really feel sympathy for Roberta. Personally, I don't agree with the opinion that villains become villains only because of a tragic backstory. Many people have had tragic backstories, but ended up being good. And this comes from someone who DID feel sympathy for the OG villain, Antonia Guerra. (Although I'm a bit prejudiced with her, I'll admit it.)

As horrible as Roberta is, they really should have informed Nico about Mau. It would have been better if he learnt it from his mom.

I wanted to say something about the Aleida plot line. I think the way it was done here shows Fidel in a more positive light than in La Patrona. In this one, he told Orlando she "disappeared". In La Patrona, Aníbal (Fidel's counterpart) told his son she abandoned them to go live la vida loca with her lover. And the original version, Orlando's counterpart, Ricardo, had been with his mom for many years. In this one, he doesn't remember her at all. Interesting changes, but I like the original one better.

Minas

Waterlily, thank you for your sterling comment.

So many good questions. I think Roberta said that the whole town will lose the respect they have for them or something. Although that part was a bit weird to me too.

I was also surprised Jo told the truth. I thought Emi wouldn't discover she's the dueña of la Cueva del Diablo until episode 70.

"This episode was the most interesting so far" I agree.

I would also pick Seb. And as ofr Míriam, ITA.

Eternamente #94

Gracias, Jarifa.

I don't think Rogelio is ignoring Violetta so much as he doesn't take her seriously. Like most men he doesn't have the same radar for this stuff as women do. Paula needs to talk to JJ to put an end to this before that company goes under again.

When Fidel got the call about the stalled buses Violetta listened and when she left the reception area and was on the other side of the door she took out her cell phone. I think she is part of Ignacio's sabotage plan but through some middleman of his. Violetta also doesn't seem to know those consequences.

Dementia looks like it will overtake Martina rather quickly. Will Gabriel marry her anyway? It made perfect sense for her to sign over her company shares to him because [we know] he will look out for the family's best interests. It's also a good thing to have another lawyer on hand. However I think that Fernando will have a conniption because he is the one with the most militant objection to Martina's engagement. That could be the next big conflict.

I'm on the same page with everyone else who sees Fernando as the weakest of the brothers. He also doesn't understand business strategy.

We don't know much about Cassandra but she knows nothing about spousal abuse.

TIERRA

Urban, another excellent recap that explained everything perfectly.

There were many things I thought might happen. Santos’ expulsion from the ranch was not one of them.

The fight was bitter and savage, no doubt. While Santos was enraged, I don’t think he would have gone so far as to have killed the Jackal. I understand Maria Teresa was upset but I think a small part of her reaction might have been frustration about her unresolved relationship with Santos. And I think Santos’ similar sentiments about losing her to Marco fueled his powerful fire. Valentina’s assertion the Jackal started the fight seemed to make no difference at all.

Marco is constantly trying to insinuate himself in Maria Teresa’s life. Always showing up unannounced. And unwanted (me, not Maria Teresa) 😊 Marco is fully aware that Santos and Maria Teresa love each other. Grim seems to want Esteban dead, Marco obviously wants Santos dead and realizes things need to move quickly. Will he be content with Santos being banished?

“He told her to be careful because Marco was deceiving her. She cried as he walked away and she whispered “Goodbye, Santos” was so sad.

Rut leading Norma into the dining room with a red blindfold, pouring wine, her “gracias amor” was stomach churning. Then the macho posturing telling …”Norma that since Clemente was born she gave all her attention to him. “You became a mother and stopped being a wife.” OMG, I was truly ready to hurl. As you noted she fell for this hook, line and sinker. I didn’t think I could dislike Norma any more than I already do but, she managed to make me do it.

I’m glad Regina and Bernarda are well on their path to reconciliation. She had both Santos and her mother warning her about La Soltera. Yes, where is Suzi??

Urban, thank you! What an eventful episode! Reading your recap you can feel how chaotic it is.

I half expected Marco to kill Jackel in the hospital and have Santos be accused of murder since the man would have supposedly died from his injuries in the fight!

That was just a lot to process in an hour, maybe that’s how they will get this tied up in 13 episodes by throwing everything at us at the same time!!!!

I wonder what will keep Santos from leaving the ranch? I like most things about Maria Teresa but I find her inability to even consider Santos’s POV of Marcos and to just dismiss it as pure jealousy so annoying!!! Santos has warned her since day 1, way before anything happened between them, back when she was still with Aldo, that Marcos was untrustworthy!!! Both MT and Esteban just dismiss this and it’s not smart!

Have fun Diana!

I am traveling too. Going to San Francisco today and traveling to Crescent City, California on Monday. I will keep up as best I can over the next two weeks but it is time for rest and relaxation!!

Great stuff, Weirdo. My favorite line: Actually, the dog isn't missing; Leo has a perra right in front of him!

"Addled-berto" was mine, yes; everyone feel free to dub this character with this nick. He is completely delusional about everyone around him. He is also thoroughly hen-pecked.

Roberta may have had a very bad start in life but that does not excuse her present evil. Like most narcissists she refuses to see what she does not want to see and thinks she can move mountains. We know that Mauricio will never fully be what she wants him to be and the best shrink in the world can't cure his issues. However she can manipulate him well enough for him to be a clear and present danger to others.

Now, who could possibly know Roberta's dirty secret?

Are there any legal documents anywhere showing Emilia as the owner of the mine? Enquiring minds want to know.

The most recent version of this story had 128 episodes and the Venezuelan original had the equivalent of 40, so who knows how long this one will be.

Tierra #47

We are now in the lead-up to the finale. It's time to discuss Karmageddons. The evil ones are...

Marco
Adriana
Irasema
Rutilio
Grimaldi
El Chacal
Pepe

Trejo seems en route to redemption so I have not included him.

Tierra

Thanks Urban, I’m amazed at how much I forget and then you bring it back to me.

I was so disappointed in MT. She was really unfair to Santos. Aside from the fact that the Jackal looks very untrustworthy she chose not to listen to Santos, Valentina or Chris. It would serve her right if Marco married her for her ranch. But it won’t go that far so I wonder how she’ll discover Marco is no good. I can’t believe she didn’t notice how he looked when she asked for the deed back. Did he really think she was going to let him keep it.

I was hoping Esteban would round the corner when Marco was interacting with Bernarda.

I wonder if Susie is the problem at the brothel. As a bartender I bet she can hold her own!

Adriana was so insulting to Bernarda. Too bad Bernarda didn’t have her gun. And is she just planning to steal Regina from her home. I guess I should say kidnap.

Norma is a fool. Clemente needs to stay away.

Weirdo...wow, thank you for every moment ...good and bad. Today is not a great day , so your recap was a nice break for me.

That flashback seemed to show that Roberta's father had her on the streets selling herself at a very young age . ugh . I guess this terrible childhood turned her into the stone cold bitter itch she is .

Well, Leo must have a sense of humor telling Sara that only the dog was missing . Sara didn't laugh.

Waterlily, like you , I am a big fan of kind, loyal, calm ,easygoing, devoted Seb . He is Em's ride or die even though she has chosen Leo. Would the writers actually trick us and give Seb the HEA with Em? In " Invencible" , I definitely wanted Gale and Leona\Mar to get the HEA, but in this show, I like both Leo and Seb. I think I would actually choose Seb. He has all the qualities I appreciate in a person.

Thanks, Urban and Susan, for your comments!

"Are there any legal documents anywhere showing Emilia as the owner of the mine?" If I recall correctly, Ignacio went to the notary to transfer the ownership to Emi or something of the sort. I assume there are, but I don't think we've been shown any.

Also, IIRC this one will have 107 episodes.

Susan, I'm happy my recap was a nice break for you. These days aren't my best either. I'm sending you good vibes :)

"That flashback seemed to show that Roberta's father had her on the streets selling herself at a very young age ." Geez, that makes sense with "comprarme". How did I miss that? Thanks.

I was expecting these reveals towards the end; in La Patrona Antonia's full past was said in the Gran Final, although we did see a big part of it in earlier episodes. But still, we were over 100. (Maybe I should stop comparing these two... But it was a surprise for me.)

OT: Diana and Darcy, have nice trips!

OT...Weirdo, Caray's patio has always been a very fine refuge from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in real life. People share the bitter and the better of their real life personal telenovelas . These shows offer an opportunity to look at and discuss the storylines and characters ...A nice escape at times .

Darcy, "He doesn't want to be forgotten or ignored or moved on for. It feels very much like an 'I'm still here' attention grab! In that sense, giving him an advisor position in the company may not be such a bad idea." I think you may be on to something with that interpretation of Ignacio's activity. It might really be as simple as that: a human need for connection.

Susan, thanks. "he (JJ) seems to have plans for seducing Imelde." He sure does. I have no problem with him trying to seduce Imelda but my question is will Imelda be open to his seduction. She only married Fernando as a matter of economics and societal position in the first place and only seems to have developed some feelings for him lately. Since I dislike Fernando so much, I hope she goes for it. I wonder how Violeta will be stopped in her quest for Rogelio. Whatever it is, I am sure it will be good.
After tonight, we have 25 episodes left. I cannot wait to see how they keep up the pace until the end.

Urban, "Dementia looks like it will overtake Martina rather quickly. Will Gabriel marry her anyway? It made perfect sense for her to sign over her company shares to him because [we know] he will look out for the family's best interests" I agree and if the sons don't like it, so be it. I think that she felt slighted by her sons for not keeping her up to date on occurrences at the company. Along with her uncertainty about her own condition, her sons' not taking her seriously was another blow. They needed to be reminded that it was she who kept the company going when their father died.

Eternamente #94

When Imelda was eavesdropping toward the end of last night's episode I started wondering what she will do with Violetta when she gets to the office. She's been so bad to Paula for so long that I am not confident that she would take Paula's side in all this.

Not prepared yet to predict whether she will be open to being seduced by JJ. She might be playing the Long Game like Ignacio.

Not sure that Martina kept the company going on her own for any length of time. If Rogelio is 43 now he was 20 when Hipolito died. That would have meant he just graduated college or was close enough to do so after years of working their part-time. Also, if their community is so backwards that women running businesses other than ones relating to beauty, fashion, and food is regarded as oddball, I'd say that Rogelio would have needed to take charge as soon as the funeral was over.

Tierra
Thank you Urban. I also appreciate your list of the evil ones. Things will obviously move quickly now since we are nearing the finale.

MT is not as bright as she looks since she believes Marcos over Santos. A lot has to happen to turn things around, since as usual in these TNs, the couple wind up getting married in the end.

I can't wait until the evil ones are discovered and meet their end

Gracias, Jarifa.

I know I should sympathize with Imelda fighting with Fernando over her taking the PR job. But Imelda is so unlikeable, I just can't. How ironic that Paula, whom Imelda hates, is supportive of her.

ETERNAMENTE AMANDONOS # 75 Page one

Highlights from the couch . . the short and sweet version

1. Gabriel ends up taking over Martina's shares. She tells him she is doing it so that he will take care of her children for her. Gabriel tells Rogelio what Martina said. He is most concerned that he and their family remain on good terms. He assures Rogelio that he is not planning on voting but he will uphold the promise he made to Martina to protect her children.

2. Fidel keep interrogating Eva thinking that she is cheating on him. She has no idea what is going on. He ends up following her to a café where she is meeting Cass. Thinking Cass is a man, he sneaks up behind her and grabs her fedora off her head. When he sees it is a woman, he doesn't know what to do except apologize.

3. Ceciia's friends hold a surprise baby shower for her. Cass sends her a gift. Ricardo takes her home.

4. Luis goes to see Andrea in Mexico City not knowing she has come to Morelia to see him. Andrea has Paula invite Luis to dinner at La Villa so that she can surprise him.

5. JJ and Rogelio seem to be on the same page when it comes to security and keeping Ignacio close. Fernando takes offense thinking that Rogelio and JJ have joined forces against him.

6. Imelda drops by the company to propose a new idea to promote different bus routes. JJ grabs her hand while they are talking and Fernando goes berserk telling him not to touch his wife. He reminds JJ that his relationship with Imelda is a work one. When JJ is gone, Imelda asks Fernando if he realizes how he embarrasses himself with the way he acts. She never would cheat on him but reminds him that he is a different story. She alludes to an affair Fernando had with what was her name??? Fernando quickly walks walks away.

7. Paula finds out that Ulises has already recorded their song they were working on with Ale because she asked him to and seemed like a good idea. She doesn't like that answer.

8. Lucas gets into a fight playing soccer with friends after a boy insults his family for being thieves . One of the parents calls Rogelio. Andrea is out sick so Violeta gets the message that somebody needs to pick Lucas up. Violeta calls Rogelio and lets him know what is going on. She is in the area of the park and can go see what is going on. They didn't seem to want to call Paula. (LIAR) Rogelio says he will meet her there. He arrives, thanks Violeta and tends to Lucas. The parent who called says yes, Lucas was insulted but there is no excuse for violence. Lucas admits to hitting first. Rogelio will talk to Lucas and when he is ready, he will apologize. He tells them that his son also should not be submitted to people allowed to say things that are not true. Back at the office, Rogelio starts to talk to Lucas and actually has to ask Violeta to leave so he can do so alone.

9. Cass asks Eva if she ever told Fidel about her past. Eva says she did but never got into the details. Cass is wondering when she will tell Ignacio. He seems so fragile and insecure. Eva cannot believe they are talking about the same man. The man she knows is very violent. That is why she is telling her to be very careful.

10. Felipa is suffering from her pregnancy hormones and doesn't want Melitón out of her sight. She is afraid she will never see him again.

11. Imelda chats with Violeta. She noticed that Violeta was out to lunch with Rogelio. Violeta doesn't tell her the truth and talks from her fantasy land and says that she and Rogelio have always had this incredible connection. There are things that sometimes just happen and what happens in the office stays in the office.

12. Marco says goodbye to Toro and thanks him and Chuy for teaching him all the goodness and happiness that they see in life and that they live. Marco and Blanca are moving to La Villa but Marco will finish the days he promised to work for Toro. Toro admits that he once lived in the very room that he rented to Marco.

ETERNAMENTE Page 2

13. Violeta gets a call from a friend who is coming for one day to Morelia and would like to see her. She will be staying at the Catedral Hotel. They agree to meet. Fernando is his usual miserable self and decides to get drunk. Where? At the bar at the Catedral Hotel. Ignacio's minion calls him to tell him that Ignacio is drunk. Ignacio comes after him and takes him to a hotel room, #220. Ignacio lets Rogelio know. Rogelio decides to go and see about his brother. Rogelio and Fernando talk and Rogelio tells him that his time has come to be the president of the company. He is only asking that he realize that they need to keep Ignacio close to know what he is up to. Fernando cannot believe it. Having made a new connection, the brothers decide to spend the night at the hotel catching up talking like they used to. Rogelio calls Paula toasks Eva uf she ever told let her know. Paula tells Imelda but she is already asleep.

14. The next morning, Imelda gets a voice mail from a male saying that if she wants to know who her hubby spend the night with to go to the Catedral Hotel. Violeta and her friend heard Rogelio and Fernando going past 220 the night before. In the mean time, Violeta gives a hotel worker some money to call Rogelio Iturbide in room 220 and tell him that they had a problem with his car in the parking lot. He is not to mention that she called. Imelda arrives at the hotel and sees Violeta so she tries to hide behind a wall. Unfortunately, Violeta sees her. Violeta makes a fake call telling "her love" that she will be waiting for him down there. Suddenly, Rogelio appears on the scene and is surprised to see Violeta . She goes up to him and cleans some lint off his shirt in a proprietary kind of way. Imelda gets an eyeful.

15. Martina has another memory problem. She asks Micaela twice in the same morning for the same things: to make corundas and for a cup of tea. She finds out that her test results are back. She goes to see her doctor and is told that her memory lapses could be the result of a trans ischemic attack (aka a kind of stroke). He says she will need to take more tests to be sure
Feel free toads anything I left out.

That is it for me. Please feel free to add what I left out.

Minas #26 - Something I forgot

While sleeping, I remembered that there was something interesting I forgot to write - when Roberta and Mau were leaving, Roberta told Jo something like "see, Jo? That's how a mother protects her kid; con uñas y dientes". I found this comment odd with that tone in her voice; did Jo have a kid we don't know of?
(And fun fact, in Greek we have the exact same expression as with "con uñas y dientes".)

I am always surprised by people who have the...I don't know if it's courage ora certain kind of lack of awareness, but why would you criticise someone for something you yourself do and the person can throw it in your face. fernando is such a... I suppose his anger wasn't directed at Imelda, but I bet he'd think she could be unfaithful to him and wouldn't trust her at all if someone like V sent him some pictures or something.
Someone said Rogelio doesn't take Violeta seriously. But Paula does and apparently that doesn't matter to him. Asshole. Imelda will tell Paula what she saw, whether out of spite or for some other reason. Paula knows where Rogelio is and with whom, so I wonder what will happen. I can see a row looming, though. And Rogelio still won't take V seriously? Then he needs to be hit with a brick. To me he keeps seeming like a man who is only good for grand gestures but really doesn'ttake Paula's feelings into consideration. Her jealousy if apparently funny to him but what about his fits of angry jealousy? Funny too I guess? Paula is way too understanding. Rogelio doesn't seem to understand 'nice language'.
What does Casandra expect Ignacio to think about her previous job? Wasn't she an escort?'Fragile? It's like she actually thinks he's entitled to get furious because? He is a pure innocent lamb himself?Ignacio is the last person to judge anyone. And isn't the point of these two that they are both tortured souls? I kind of wish Casandra got to see Ignacio's dark side just so I could see her reaction. I'm convinced she doesn't fully believe Eva.
Oh and is Violeta supposed to have spent the night with both men? I could never understand people who lie the way she does. I had a classmate who used to lie, but her lies were easily disprovable if yougot to go to her house. Violeta tries to cover her tracks a bit but if Rogelio keeps not caring, he'll regret it a lot.

I wonder if Fernando would dare to suspect Imelda of infidelity when he himself had an affair. But people have this weird tendency to acuse others ofwhat they themselves are doing or have done. I never understood why someone would want to put themselves in such a position.
I bet Imelda would tell Paula what she saw, be it out of spite or for some other reason. But was Violeta supposed to have spent the night with both men?
Someone said Rogelio just doesn't take V seriously, but why he doesn't do it for Paula's sake is a mystery to me. Her jealousy was apparently amusining to him. So what about his jealousy fits? Funny too I guess? He still seems to me more like a man of grand gestures. I had hope it would change, but I should give up. I cannot stand him.
I wonder what Casandra thinks Ignacio's reaction will be. It's like she thinks he has a right to judge her. He is the last person to judge anyone really. Wasn't she an escort? I kind of am curious to see what she'd do if he got violent because she still seems not to take what Eva says into consideration.
I wonder what Violeta thought when Rogelio told her to leave. I can never understand people who lie the way she does. I had a classmate like this atschool and couldn't understand why she lied about inconsequential things when I could see the reality once I went to her house. Violeta is on a different level, but no excuse would be sufficient to me here because pathological lying is not normal. What kind of person convinces themselves that a certain narrative is true? I bet she believes that nonsense about the specialconnection.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 27 - Viernes, 6 de Octubre, 2023

Last time, Roberta exploded a bombshell; this time, it's a mine - Part 1/3

Roberta claims she and her son are innocent. Nico is confused, he says Mau is just his friend. Emi tells him to go to Gael and screams that they don't have any rights on her son. Roberta says they'll fight for custody and gives her a legal paper that pretty much writes what she said.

Nico is with Gael and Marijó. He asks if Roberta is bad; Gael says that she is. Nico looks at a picture of him with his mom and cries.

Roberta calls Emi salvaje (wild). Emi replies that she won't talk then and delivers a smooth punch right on Roberta's face. Rob says that they have everyone here as witnesses of this woman's craziness, she's the criminal! Zaira, Leo and Seb stand up for Emi. After Rob and Mau leave, Tigre tells Emi everything is going to be alright.

Rob whines to Jo about everyone leaving her and claims she can't tell her anything. She says something like "I'll always be the same with you"(?) Mau is in the car looking like a zombie. Jo gets in the car.

Emi grabs the microphone and says something about having health and a job. She wants to go to Nico, Leo volunteers to come with her but she refuses; she has to do this alone.

Gael and Marijó are trying to keep Nico on a chair. Emi comes in and she's left alone with Nico. "It is true? Is Mauricio my dad?"

Rob stops the car to give some pills to Mau. He doesn't want to take them, but she forces him to take them so he doesn't drink. (We later learn he's in rehab.) Mau says telling Nico about him being his dad wasn't a good idea; Rob says Emi hypnotises him and insists it was a good idea. Jo tries to overhear.

Seb and Tigre are talking about Rob and Mau and that money is the only thing they care about.

Emi tells Nico adults make mistakes. Nico asks her again if Mau is his dad and she admits it. He asks her, while crying, why didn't she tell him. Emi also starts crying and says he's young. Nico screams he doesn't love her anymore and runs outside. Zaira enters and tries to comfort Emi.

Gael stops Nico and tells him Emi loves him. Nico says she's a liar. Leo arrives and offers to explain everything, which Nico refuses and says he doesn't want to be his son anymore. He runs away. Emi and Zaira come. Leo promises Emi he won't let anyone take Nico.

Next thing we know, he's at the police station to scream at Orlando for letting Mau walk free. He says he thought he (Orlando) was a fair man. Orlando tries to calm him down, but it proves to be impossible; Leo screams that Mau is back and he wants to take Nico; he should do something! He asks for a restraining order against Mau and Rob, which Orlando refuses - he says Emi needs to do it or something.

Jo is looking after the wound caused by the great punch from earlier. Rob grabs her hand and Jo asks her to let her go. Roberta says sure, but she'll tell everyone she killed Ignacio, since his tea was her job. Rob threatens her; next time she betrays her, she'll tell (well, lie to) everyone about this. (Why am I sure Rob has made the exact same threat before?)

Emi leaves a flower at her house for her mother. She remembers a nice scene with Leo and Nico. I'm pretty sure they all said they'll go live in her mother's house. Back to the present, Leo finds her and tells her Nico is in her mom's house. She says he hates her and adds that Mau can just be walking freely after all he did. They hug. Leo tells her they'll get married in a week and no one will be able to separate them (uh oh. Every time the lead couple says that, something happens that separates them. How much time until that? My bet is 5 episodes max).

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 27 - Viernes, 6 de Octubre, 2023

Last time, Roberta exploded a bombshell; this time, it's a mine - Part 2/3

Nico is crying. He thinks back to a scene of him and Mau, in which he told him Leo will be his dad. Mau frowns and Nico asks him what's up, Leo is his brother. Mau says he has to leave. Present times: Nico screams he wants his dad. Zaira, Gael and Marijó come in and Zaira hugs Nico.

Rob is all smiley as she tells Jo she never really thought of herself as a grandmother (unfortunately for her kids, she must have thought of herself as a mother) but she's happy with the way the things turned out. She says she wants Nico to be exactly like her (poor kid). The world is for the strong and Mau isn't and can't be, but Nico will. The bell rings; it's Emi. Jo senses danger and leaves. Rob mocks Emi about hitting her earlier and adds that she'll lose. Emi says she's tired; what does she want to leave her and Nico alone? Money, right? Well, guess what? Here are the papers for la Cueva del Diablo, she can have it if she leaves them alone!

Seb meets with Sara and informs her of the Rob situation, as well as Emi and Leo's marriage. Sara says she'll call a lawyer to help Emi. Seb is confused, Sara laughs and says she's not that bad. Emi won and she has to move on with her life. (Hm. Why don't I believe this?)

Rob asks Emi if Leo knows about this. He doesn't, Emi says it's her property. It's an offer; take it or leave it. Rob makes a counter-offer; she'll take it and leave them alone, but Leo stays and works in la Cueva del Diablo.

Leo asks Gael about Emi and Marijó. Marijó is there, but Emi hasn't returned yet.

Emi accepts! Mau gets down the stairs and when he hears it, he's like "nope, no way" because "Nico is his son". Emi screams that he's HER son and he has the right to be with good people, something that neither of them are. Mau says he's repenting (how? By taking her kid away?) and he's also in rehab. He then adds "don't I count as a father" or something and Emi naturally loses it. He doesn't, because he drugged her, he had no right to touch her and then he kept lying to her until he got tired. He didn't want a kid when he raped her; he only wanted to hurt her, so no, he doesn't count. Then Mau, in the most ridiculous moment of the episode, says that he has always loved her and still does! He goes to grab her hand, but Emi smacks a case over and tells him not to touch her. She'll kill him if he comes near Nico. She leaves. Rob tells Mau "that's your sweet Emi. She hates you! She wants to see you dead!"

Leo calls Emi again, this time she picks it up and when Leo asks her where she is, she doesn't really reply. She says to herself "I won't lose Nico".

Next day?

Nico is still feeling blue, although he doesn't seem as angry with Emi as he was previously.

Roberta is busy kissing Fidel. She tells him she'll take both la Cueva del Diablo and Nico. Patricio calls her and says they did everything she asked for. Ramiro is also there, so it's not looking good.

Emi is working when Tigre approaches her. She says she thinks it's a good idea if they leave. Even though he has his doubts, he says he'll support her.

Sara is whining to Leo about not having time for his other business. He says she should wait until he gets married, but she says no. He leaves a message to Emi to tell her he's leaving.

The lawyer Sara called says she'll do what she can, but then I think she says something like "it's normal that Mau would want to see Nico". QTH? After she leaves, Seb sees Míriam, who tells him she broke up with her boyfriend some months ago, she needs work and she's pregnant. Seb says he'll help her, she's not alone. Awww. What's not-so-awww is the picture Fidel took of them.

Minas de Pasión - Capítulo 27 - Viernes, 6 de Octubre, 2023

Last time, Roberta exploded a bombshell; this time, it's a mine - Part 3/3

Some unknown number calls Tigre. He picks it up and a miner tells him there's someone trapped in the San Lorenzo mine. Tigre, of course, has a WTF face and asks him how is this possible, the mine is closed! The miner says La Patrona ordered them to open it or something. Tigre says he'll go and help.

Nico is still sad. Emi tells him she understands why he's mad at her. He says he just wanted a dad. She replies that Mau isn't a good man and they can't be together. He asks her if she'll always be with him, she says she will and will always love him. She adds that he's the best thing that has happened to her and they hug. (In this scene, I liked Brito's acting.) They also have their yo te a-mo tú me a-mas game that I really like. Tigre arrives and tells Emi about the person trapped in the mine, one Salas guy. Emi leaves with Tigre.

More Rob-Fidel kisses (ugh). Jo enters. Some unknown number, who it turns out it's Ramiro, calls Roberta. He tells her about the accident. She appears shocked and says calling Emi and Tigre to help was the right desicion. Although I have my doubts - I think she faked it, because in a later scene it appeared to be part of the plan.

That Salas guy is hurt. Tigre decides to get in. Emi wants to get inside too, but Tigre says no; she has Nico. They hug.

The car in which Leo and Sara are in breaks down. They have to wait for another car.

Tigre finds Salas and tries to help him.

Addled-berto gets the picture Fidel took. He's not happy.

Salas has lost hope. Tigre says he won't die. Ironically, some rocks collapse on them the next second and Salas appears pretty dead to me. Some people tell Emi about the collapse. She sends an audio message to Leo about it.

He gets it and tells Sara. He stops some car and tells her they have to leave.

Roberta has arrived with Fidel. She says the plan is perfect; the explosives are in place. Mau overhears this and leaves, unnoticed by both and by Ramiro who was also taking part in the conversation.

Tigre is still alive. Emi finds him. She has a voice asking where she is and she responds, not knowing it's Mauricio. When she sees him, she tells him to go away. He doesn't and he says this is a trap. Emi doesn't look like she believes him and grabs her dad. Mau sees the explosives and hers the beep beep beep, but Emi doesn't. Mau grabs her as the whole thing explodes, using himself as a shield for Emi.

And with the explosion, we have the Fin del Capítulo.

I'm reading our old Invencible comments and I'm having a major laughing session. Every time I have to do something hard from now on, I'll tell myself "if you recapped Invencible until the end, you can do this".

Eternamente #95

Stellar work, Jarifa.

I hope this Violetta story ends soon. I am getting weary of watching this selfish little bitch trying to ruin Rogelio and Paula's marriage. She is getting off on the trouble she is causing and I think this is her main motive for it all. She gives women a bad name.

For a related reason I am impatient for Monday's episode to see what Imelda makes of what she saw. Will she try to go after Rogelio again or will she tell Paula that Rogelio is cheating on her with a girl young enough to be his daughter? If she does what spirit will this be in? I have never had good vibes about her so I have no hopes to dash.

Fernando still doesn't deserve to be president of the company and I hope JJ tells this to Rogelio. This was a bad decision on his part. Fernando is very immature and the least intelligent of his brothers. He is too impulsive, lacks people skills, and is treating his wife like a Stepford android.

Poor Toro. Emphysema is a horrible condition.

Got to catch up on the others now. Be back later.

OT...Weirdo, that is so funny that reading the old Invencible comments are encouraging you . Telenovela life does sometimes help to get us through real-life stuff. Caray is always here to forget everything for a little while and snark about these crazy characters and storylines .

Also, I was thinking that in English , we use the expression " fighting tooth and nail" for someone and something.

Rainy day here.

Minas
I don't see my own comment onthe eternamente so I hope this one at least is visible. I couldn't figure out what that minero was supposed to be able to do because he was asked if he knew how to make something and he said he did.
Mauricio talked about him 'counting too' because he is human but what is E supposed to do? He can repent but that doesn't undo the damage. That's why even when rapists and murderershave served time in prison, all I can think is that it won't bring back the dead nor will it eraise what they've done. A man who is now a retired basketball player in my country raped a woman and went to prison. Guess what? He now has a wife and a lot of money. I remember wondering how he found someone willing to marry him after what he did. I suppose that's mean of me tosay it, but 'I regret it now' doesn't cut it here. Why is there so much emphasis on it being a 'mistake' when men either are unfaithful or rape someone. It's like men have no control when it comes to having sex.
Is Mauricio really in rehab? Oris Roberta now his doctor and prescirbes him those anxiety meds?
It can't be a coincidence that Sara showed up just when Roberta did. Where's Jenifer? So how exactly did M get free? Roberta dragged him out but didn't Orlando have to sign those papers?

Eternamente

Jarifa, thank you so much for another great report from the couch as our story tumbles to the finale . uff. I am ready to move on to new troubled souls and complicated plots.

You know ,I am sick of Violet . When does she have any time to work when she seems to be spending all her time scheming to put Rog into compromising positions and then gaslighting Paula. I would have had a long, long talk with her a long, long time ago, but I am pretty pragmatic and no nonsense. Between stalking Rog and braiding her hair , she must be busy. I hope Vi isn't working for Igy. I get a bad feeling about Tio JJ, too. I think they both are kind of creepy.

Imelde was hugging people at ceci's baby shower, is arguing with her pretentious mother, and was nice to Felipe , so maybe she is turning over a new leaf and will warn Paula about Vi's tricks.

I thought jailtime had changed Fernando , but....no. He hasn't even started his terms journey . The brother is making progress on his burros journey is Marco . I like him a lot.

I wondered why they showed Toro smoking in a recent episode . Now, we know. The writers decided to give this good guy emphysema. Cruel . He has Bern so kind and supportive to Marco and Blanca. Not fair.

I still love bumbling , notebook carrying , goodhearted Fidel.

Minas

Weirdo , thank you for that excellent , detailed recap . You were on fire.

Wow, where is this all headed ?

Orlando frustrated me because he is supposed to be a good guy and Leo's old buddy , but he keeps doing whatever devious thing that Fidel and Rob tell him to do .

A lot hit the fan last night , and we are left wondering who survived that blast . we know Em has to survive because she is the leading lady, but did pathetic Mau and loose canon Tigre survive . I have no idea where we are headed .

I wonder if goodhearted Seb is going to end up with Miriam + Addled's baby .

Sara is a snake and has not given up on Leo.

Eternamente

Thanks for your highlights Jarifa.

My favorite part was Fidel grappling Cass’s hat. He’s so meek and mild and then rushes in and does something bold.

I don’t think Fernando and Imelda are going to be able to work in the same place. And with the way he’s been acting Rogelio never should have made him president. He doesn’t get along with JJ at all. Or many other people!

I didn’t realize Rogelio and Violeta went out to lunch. But what she told Imelda was outrageous! I wonder if Imelda believed her. Imelda needs to tell Rogelio about Violeta since he doesn’t believe Paula.

The whole hotel scene was confusing. Who was the male voice that called Imelda. And who was she supposed to see Fernando with? Was she supposed to see Violeta and Rogelio? Or Fernando with someone-Violeta or a friend? I think she was supposed to see Rogelio with Violeta since she had the guy call the room. Was her friend a man or a woman? If a man he might have called Imelda. I hope we’ll figure it out Monday. Or someone will! My Spanish would never figure out anything complicated!

Tierra de Esperanza 10/6/23
Episode 48: Part 1 of 3

Adriana vented to Irasema about Bernarda getting in her way to getting Regina. She also could not think of a way to keep Grim off her back.

Maria Teresa tried fighting the pain she felt over Santos while he was calling himself an idiot.

Valentina wanted to go to Santos but Bernarda told her to let him fix this with the owners. Valentina was very agitated but Bernarda told her to give him space to do what he had to. However, she could not stop her.

Santos told Cris he was more upset that Maria Teresa would not believe him. Cris was upset when Santos told him he would leave La Esperanza.

Esteban was upset by the fight and its aftermath. Maria Teresa said Santos was very stubborn so this kept on happening. She did not know what to do.

Remedios went to see Santos and he told her what happened. She also disapproved of violence but he responded that this was in defense of Maria Teresa. He planned to leave because he could not stay to see Marco waltz into La Esperanza as Maria Teresa's husband. Remedios then prepared to treat his injuries.

Grim met Rut in a room in the municipal building. Rut tried to make him leave because of recent events. Grim told him that it was worse than they thought. The authorities were getting info from the workers and the women swept up in the brothel raid. Rut reminded him he was being watched and could not help him, telling him to call his “contacts” and told him to leave.

Esteban was disturbed that things had come to this. Before they could talk more about the fight Marco arrived with fake apologies about the Jackal's behaviour. He added that the wounds were serious and he would need to be in the clinic for a few days. Marco also said something about talking to Santos but Esteban said No, that this was for him to do. He said he'd pay the medical bills for the Jackal. Marco said that was not necessary; he was there to ask about Santos. Esteban told him he should not involve himself any more in this. Maria Teresa ended this by saying that Santos would be leaving.

Valentina arrived just as Santos told Remedios that he was leaving that day. Remedios told him not to be so hasty/ He was to stay at her place for a few days. He agreed.

Rodrigo called Rut to tell him that the governor's office had been given evidence of the trafficking of undocumented women. Rut tried to laugh if off but could not at hearing Esteban's name, which he cursed in a whisper after the call ended.

Marco left after another back and forth over Santos. Esteban told Maria Teresa he would talk to Santos with a cool head and then they (he and Maria Teresa) needed to talk over dinner about something from the past. Something she needed to know.

Rut told Trejo he had to make security appear as good as the Pentagon's. [As we flies on the wall laugh our butts off] He was also to misplace the reports regarding La Esperanza. Trejo replied that Clemente would not do that and Rut became furious, saying he was never to mention ese infeliz again. Trejo withheld his shock but looked back at Rut as he left.

Tierra de Esperanza 10/6/23
Episode 48: Part 2 of 3

Valentina insisted on leaving with Santos who told her No because he could not take care of her until he had found a place. Esteban arrived and Valentina left, but not before Esteban hugged her.

Adriana and Irasema tried to irritate Remedios in the town square about Santos, implying that he had killed Jeronimo. Remedios replied she saw Adriana in the act. Adriana claimed that Santos had done this with Remedios as accomplice. Irasema added that Adriana was very close to Rut and Norma and soon that she and Santos would be in prison. Remedios replied “The only one that benefited from Jeronimo's death was you,” pointing at Adriana.

Maria Teresa defended her decision to Nani who tried to get her to change her mind.

Adriana claimed that Santos needed no motive to kill her husband; he only aided in the fall and left him to die. Irasema told her to “stop bothering us.” [This sounds all too familiar.] Adriana insisted that Santos would be finished once the case was reopened and closed. Remedios told them that the truth will come out and that they can't sustain their lies forever.

Santos told Esteban that the Jackal does whatever Marco tells him to do. He mentioned the death of Jeronimo and the recent troubles with the escaped woman and the armed men by the river. Also that there was an ulterior motive for Marco's recent attentions to Maria Teresa.

Marco went to Rut to update him and Rut mentioned Esteban's interference as a major problem. Marco said he needed a little time but Rut was not buying this. His trust had run out.

Esteban was determined to convince Santos to stay. Santos confessed he could not because he was in love with Maria Teresa from the moment they met. Esteban turned around as he clutched his chest. When he caught his breath he asked how it was that he was with Valentina, as this was wrong. He told him to get his feelings in order. Santos told him that after Maria Teresa's rejection he was with Valentina because that was possible and he hoped he would come to love her.

Marco and Rut continued to argue. Rut said they needed to resolve the river problem, closing with “If you can't resolve it, I can.”

Esteban told Santos that fighting one's heart is not good. He told him further that he had two days to think about it and to stick around. Santos agreed.

Marco pointed out that he got the access to the river from Maria Teresa but Rut said that Esteban ended that. Rut said he no longer benefited from their association and he would end it. Marco told him to stop talking stupid and Rut warned him not to oppose him.

Esteban told Bernarda and Valentina that he had convinced Santos to stay. Valentina hugged him before leaving and he told Bernarda that he wanted to take his place as Valentina's father.

Lawyer Villalobos called asking for Esteban. Maria Teresa told him that her father was out. He did not reveal the reason for his all, only that it was personal and he was sure Esteban would tell her about it. She told Nani about this right after the call.

Tierra de Esperanza 10/6/23
Episode 48: Part 3 of 3

Bernarda regretted telling Esteban about his paternity. She said she needed more time. He knew that Bernarda had been severely wronged and she finally told him that Rut had raped her. He left her house in a rage.

Marco and Grim met in the saloon and Marco told him no business for now.

Santos put his work toolbag in the bed of his pickup truck and prepared to leave. Valentina tried to stop him but he kissed her goodbye.

After dark Esteban ran into Marco in the street. He didn't like what happened and told Marco that his workers can't access La Esperanza. Marco said that without Santos the workers at La Esperanza would be totally lost and he offered to help. Esteban ignored this, saying that for many years there had been no problems. Marco pretended to cave, still promising help. Esteban walked away, saying it wasn't necessary.

Santos went to Remedios' place. She had already prepared his room and bought more groceries. She didn't like seeing him so down. He said he would go for a walk and clear his head.

Esteban went to Rut's office and confronted him over the rape. Rut had the gall to call Bernarda a slut and say that she came on to him. Esteban grabbed him by the lapels, saying he would pay for this.

Nani and Genoveva set the dinner table for what Esteban said would be a special occasion. He was not yet at home. Genoveva had a date with Cris.

Esteban had connexions in the governor's office and Rut almost laughed, saying that everyone in town knew him(self), Esteban said that soon there would be little left for him as he left the building.

Finally had the time to answer. Thanks for your comments everyone!

Susan, I didn't know the expression "fighting tooth and nail", thanks for sharing.
I am also frustrated with Orlando.
Yes, I don't think Sara will just "give up" either. She has a plan.
I'm betting only Emi will survive.

Waterlily, your Eternamente comment may have went to spam. Quizá RGVChick will see it and restore it for you.
"That's why even when rapists and murderershave served time in prison, all I can think is that it won't bring back the dead nor will it eraise what they've done. " Exactly. We had similar cases in Greece, men raping/killing women and (still) being married over the years. Horrible.

ETERNAMENTE

Thanks, everyone for your interesting and insightful comments. I have had a chance to read them but no time to respond since I have been out of town on a road trip to Nauvoo, Illinois. It was nice to get away for a couple of days. I saw the first announcement for "últimas semanas" on Friday. Now the next question is "What is coming next?" Well, in Uni fashion, they haven't said. Anyway, we have about five weeks left to finish off this tale.

I cannot wait until tonight!

OT

Jarifa, I saw a promo for " Vencer" the other night . I wonder if that show will follow Eternamente.

Glad you had a nice getaway!

OT

Waterlily’s comments have been restored. I also saw some from Susanlynn and restored those too. Yep, I’m still enjoying the recaps and comments :-)

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
