Jacinto escapes with evidence that may prove that Andres is still alive…..Fausto makes a mad dash to the bedroom after hearing a noise, but Jacinto is long gone leaving funny eyed Fausto to cross his eyes in that weird way he does with them……

Nuria’s cousin talks her into taking a job at the clothing store… First she’s apprehensive cause she’s trying to get away from Braulio and the Zepeda’s but she relents and almost runs into Braulio at the elevator…..

Braulio is an extra bag of dirt as he blackmails the pregnant girl to give her baby to them. Then he high tails it to Nuria’s old place to give his “condolences “ about Andres and threatens Chelo in the process….He just gets worse and worse….

Funny eyed Fausto proposes and gives Chelo the ring he took from the bank teller during the robbery…..Chelo seems to be having second thoughts…..for now

Diego ‘s got some past violent history that just blew his chances of getting Andres….. he vows to not give up though….

Santi playing “to catch a crook” can’t seem to close the deal…..he almost drove into another truck trying……something is sneaky about Rosendo too…..

Lianna told Braulio that it’s OVAH! He looked even more cocky like he’s not buying it…….

And Martha is becoming a real sad sack….almost likable…..

They've done that "almost" thing twice. Nuria almost sees Andrés at the airport and now Braulio almost gets to see her at the elevator of, I think, Grupo Zepeda.

Yep, Braulio gets worse and worse. He actually hinted he'd get her brother either arrested or killed, can't remember which, so she'd give up the baby. But he was NOT happy to have her move in. He's worried she might spill about how he convinced her.

Poor Diego. What kept him from adopting Andrés was that awful ex, Celia, putting a restraining order on him for trying to have visits with Dana, his daughter. IIRC he might have pushed or hit her new man, a real a-hole if I ever saw one.

Nah. I'm not liking Martha one bit. What nerve to try to talk the pregnant young woman out of giving up her baby to HER OWN SON because of HER guilt!

I'm a bit surprised that Fausto gave the mental defective the ring instead of trying to sell it. She did eventually accept since she's shown with it on, looking doubtful.

I did like the way she stood up to Braulio, absolutely refusing to let him know where Nuria was.

Hoo boy was I wrong about Braulio. I guess there is no redemption for him anymore. But I did like the way the birth mom used him and his blackmail to get herself a pretty decent living situation. Braulio may regret threatening her. And I did feel for Martha but she's going to have to spill soon. And really, Braulio shouldn't be allowed near any child so she's not entirely wrong, even if she doesn't yet know why.

I'm less sympathetic to Diego. Isn't he still unemployed? Maybe he should focus on getting a job and a lawyer to get him time with his daughter instead of trying to adopt the kid that he hit with his car and gave amnesia to. Pretty sure that's a no-go to adoption in any country. He's no Braulio, but dude, get a job. Give all the kids to Jacinto. He's the smartest one here.

secrets #103 part 1

We are in últimas semanas!

Merdan Dede brought the little kitty into the house! [“There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life, music and cats.” – Albert Schweitzer] Gul is with him and brings him something to eat and drink. She complains that no one is eating. Merdan is very depressed. Gul does her best to give him hope. She mentions that Metin woke up, but they had to sedate him again. He laments, this old heart won’t live enough to see my son again. He begins to cough. Gul rushes out to the guards. Merdan fainted! Call an ambulance!

News report outside the court. Gulcin Kurseber is suspected of killing Ferda Kurcan. She will be transferred to prison and await trial there. Gulcin is brought out. The press asks for comments. They ask about Selim. She tells them he hasn’t even seen the judge. That bastard is going to walk! And what’s going to happen to me? Ask those who released him!

Yekta is watching and laughing. Written and directed by Yekta Tilmen! What do you think, Omer? He says it’s perfect. Yekta tells him, your father will teach you something new every day… Subtle maneuvers, switching tactics, pivoting. You have it in your blood. You’ll walk the Yekta Tilmen path!

As they exit courthouse, Ridvan tells Pars that Rafet is back at the station. Reporters descend on them. Was Selim released before being arraigned? Why was he released? Pars replies, no such thing happened. The reporter says that’s what Gulcin said. Pars denies it. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

A reporter asks, was he released? Was it because of the threats? Did you give in to the Mafia? Pars says that Selim is behind bars waiting to be questioned. His file is incomplete. Once we are done, he will go before the judge.

Back to the Turkish staring contest. Eren calls it one of their interrogation techniques. Ilgaz finally speaks, did you stab my father? No answer, just more staring. Ilgaz asks again—did you stab my father? Tell me! Did you kidnap my sister? No response. Ilgaz bangs the table. Answer!

The suspect leans back, smirks and sighs. Ilgaz repeats his questions. The suspect answers, how would I know who your father is? You know who he is, Ilgaz shouts. The suspect says he stabbed someone, but she’s dead. I’m sorry if she’s your sister.

Ilgaz pulls the guy out of his seat and pins him to the wall. Where is Defne! He shakes the guy up and shouts. Eren calls in another cop for back up. Ilgaz continues to demand answers. You can kill me if you want, the suspect says, but I’ll never tell you. Eren tries to calm Ilgaz down. The suspect adds, look for her, maybe you’ll find her. Eren manages to drag Ilgaz away. But the suspect grabs the cop’s gun and holds it to his head. Drop the gun! Put it down! Let’s talk. The suspect blows his brains out. Wow. Stunned silence.

Derya is scolding Pars. You can’t say someone is in prison when they aren’t. What else could I do, Pars replies, do I say that Defne’s been kidnapped and we’re going to do an exchange? I don’t have to explain myself to anyone.

Derya tells him that’s what he should have said—you don’t have to explain. Justice will be done in time. Pars doesn’t regret his statement. Are we Mafia puppets now? I won’t let anyone say that. Besides, I wasn’t acting out of fear, it was for Defne. Well done, Derya says, the reporters will be waiting like wolves for Selim to exit. You gave them a reason. They won’t stop until they get answers. What do you plan to do now?

The suspect is taken to the morgue. Goksu is there to gather evidence. Ceylin asks, how did he get the gun? Eren says the officer forgot to secure his gun in his holster. He’s been suspended and is under investigation. He’ll face a judge.

Ilgaz heads straight to Selim’s cell. It’s your fault! All your fault! Who has my sister? Selim is afraid but he remains silent. Ilgaz continues to rage, a girl is being held hostage because of you! What kind of person are you?! Who is behind this operation? Tell me! No answer. Bana bak! You may get to leave today, Ilgaz says, but mark my words, you will pay for this! If anything happens to my sister, you’re dead! Ilgaz leaves.

Ceylin comes to Ilgaz. He asks, you saw it, right? She did. Eren comes in. Maria, Ivan’s older sister, says she’s going to talk. Ilgaz asks, did she say anything about Defne? I don’t know, Eren replies, but she will come clean. Ilgaz wants Eren to question her. [smart move.] He asks, does she know her brother is dead? Eren shakes his head no.

Eren questions Maria and Ilcey watch behind the glass. I have kids, she says, their father isn’t around. I came here to provide for them and because my siblings live here. Eren asks about the kidnapping. Maria says my daughter is sick and I needed money. Dimitry said we’d make a lot of money, so I agreed to do it.

Who is Dimitry, Eren asks. My older brother, she says, Ivan is our youngest. Eren asks, where do we find Dimitry? You won’t find him, she replies, he’s invisible. She says she posts a pic of a rose on social media and that means they need to meet at the park.

Eren says to get the phone and post a pic of a rose. He asks Maria, will he see it right away? Yes. Maria admits she took Defne to a house, and they stayed there. At night, Dimitry came and took her. I don’t know where. Eren asks, so you don’t know anything? What does your brother do for a living?

Pars gets the news that the suspect killed himself. He shares it with Derya. We have 2.5 hours to find Defne. He says, we’ll have an officer similar in height and weight to Selim sit in the car. I have the necessary authorization and permits. We’ve done this before. We’ll shut the press up.

Derya isn’t happy. You’d do well to remember what happened today, she says. If you told the press to mind their business, you wouldn’t have to do this. She calls him arrogant. Pars replies, I have no time to discuss my shortcomings with you. Sorry for taking up your time.

Pars goes to see Ridvan. He tells him we’re going to have someone take Selim’s place in the car. It must be an officer the same height and weight. He’s about your height, right? More or less. Pars says they have to work fast.

Merdan is at the hospital. Cinar comes to the ER to see him. Merdan bolts upright—what happened, grandson? Cinar says they were lucky. I found a nurse in the ICU. I told her you were sick and that Dad was dying. I pressured her a little. The girls will handle the cops. We’ve got it planned out. We have 3 minutes. There will be trouble if we get caught. Gul draws the curtain around Merdan’s bed. He sneaks out with Cinar.

Tugce occupies the cops. She tells them Merve wants to become one. Blah, Blah, Blah. Cinar and Merdan sneak by.

Merdan enters the ICU. He pulls up a chair and takes his son’s hand. I’ve never believed those that said we’re never too old to learn something new. But I’m an old man and I’m still learning new lessons. Including now, as I walked through that door, I learned something. No matter how old you are, no matter how old your child is, if you see them get hurt, something inside of you breaks. My heart is shattered.

God knows my heart, Merdan continues, I was so scared I’d never see you again. I have so many sins, he laments, I don’t deserve forgiveness, but I do have one wish. Death, don’t take him! Don’t let parents bury their children. He cries. I don’t want to go through that. I’ve lived a long life. Let him live. Amen. He places his hand on Metin’s head—hang in there, okay? And I’ll continue to hope for the day you call me “father” and I can call you “son”. You can stay mad, but please listen to me. A tear falls from Metin’s eye!

Derya and Pars meet in the hallway. She says she’s working on the indictment. I’ll work late today. He tells her he’s going to the station. She asks him to keep her informed about Defne. I hope to bring good news, Pars replies. We can talk later since you’ve made your decision. Kolay gelsin.

Ilgaz and Eren are at the park, out in the rain, waiting for Dimitry. Officers are in place.

Osman is berating Aylin over her stupid move. She’s sorry. I made a mistake, she admits, but you can’t say that I gave up on us. You’re wrong about that. Ceylin calls her. She’s returning one of her 7 missed calls. Aylin just wanted an update on Metin and Defne. No changes.

Someone who matches Dimitry’s description walks by. Eren alerts the officers. The suspect stops and the officers move in and grab him. There’s a struggle. The suspect shouts. Ilgaz grabs Dimitry and yells, where’s the girl?! Eren reminds Ilgaz of the time, it’s almost 5. Cuff him and take him to the station. Hurry!

Officers come in to check on Merdan. Phew! Merdan is back in his bed. The cop tells him the doctor is ready to release him. Ha, Merdan says he will take out his own IV. He takes Gul’s hand and says, you have a big heart. I can’t thank you enough for what you did. You were by my side on this terrible day. Gul replies, don’t say that, we’re a family. After all you’ve done for us, for Parla, this was nothing.

Omer enters Yekta’s office. Yekta is resting in a chair with his eyes closed. Omer asks, did you see Pars’ statement? No, what did he say? That Selim was still inside, Omer replies, he made it seem like he was still in custody. Yekta perks up—he lied, Omer. And if you were to ask them, I’m the root of all evil. Yekta Tilmen is the villain! I’ll have him recant his statement. He tells Omer to go to the station and find out what they are up to.

Lacin arrives as Omer is leaving. Yekta isn’t happy to see her. She gets right to it. Are you representing one of Defne’s kidnappers? What are you up to? He snarks, did a little birdie called Ceylin whisper in your ear? Lacin wants an answer. Do you know where Defne is? She’s just a child!

Yekta takes offense. I’m not a one-man organization. Everyone thinks I’m guilty. How would I know where Defne is? I’ve never even met her. And I’d never hurt a small child [he left out: except my own son, Engin.] I hope not, Lacin replies, don’t let this be your undoing. She leaves.

Yay! Omer locks his office door and finally takes out that flash drive we’ve all been wanting to look at. Looks like a meeting at a casino. Is that Dimitry? He says, the books don’t add up. Who’s the thief? I’ll kill you! There’s some pushback. Who’s going to kill whom? You should have gotten here sooner. Omer takes out a notebook and writes: 5 million para (money). Casino in Antep.

Omer takes off his glasses and focuses on the next part. There’s a glimpse of the thug reaching into his jacket. Omer looks shocked. He utters… this… We see the thug shoot one of the men. The rest of them sit still. There are other men there holding guns on them. Omer takes the flash drive in his hand and sqeezes it. He’s thinking.

Impatient Pars marches into Ridvan’s office. Did you call the station? Where’s the officer who will impersonate Selim? I contacted them earlier, Ridvan replies, and they said they’d work on it. I mentioned the importance of this. Where’s the officer, Pars complains, is he coming from Yemen? Find out! Are you trying to drive me crazy? Get on the phone.

Dimitry is brought into the station. Ceylin comes out to meet Eren and Ilgaz. They tell her Dimitry didn’t talk. Those guys are like that. Time is running out. Ilgaz tells Eren to get Selim ready. Ceylin asks Ilgaz, are you going to release him? Not like that, Ilgaz replies. You heard them, Ceylin answers, no one can follow him. Those guys are crazy! They detonated a bomb here! Your dad is in the hospital, and they have Defne.

Ilgaz says they will plant a tracker. Don’t do anything crazy, Ceylin pleads. Ilgaz assures her he wouldn’t do anything to put Defne in danger. We will rescue her, and Selim will face justice. Justice, Justice. Why does that matter? Defne’s life is on the line. Ilgaz replies, my dad is in the hospital, they have Defne, and a man killed himself two hours ago. What do we do? He’s to blame. He will be punished!

Rafet tells Ilgaz that they found a knife on the suspect who killed himself. It had traces of Metin’s blood. Ilgaz calls Cinar. Cinar asks if he found Defne. No. Ilgaz asks how Dad is doing. No change. Cinar tells his brother to keep his promise. Ilgaz tells him Defne will sleep in her bed tonight.

Eyup shows up at the ICU.

Ridvan enters Pars’ office. Is the officer here? No, Ridvan replies, he can’t make it. There was a misunderstanding, a mistake. What misunderstanding, Pars asks, what are you talking about? Ridvan says they are sending someone else. I told them it was urgent. Unfortunately, the officer won’t arrive for two hours. Pars is understandably upset and he takes it out on Ridvan. If I weren’t in a hurry, I wouldn’t be bothering them! This is what happens when you don’t consult me. Ridvan is upset he let the AG down. He blurts—I’ll go. If you don’t mind, I’ll take Selim’s place. Pars asks him to repeat that without mumbling.

Ridvan repeats he will take Selim’s place. I keep some clothes at the courthouse. I’ve got a hoodie. Clothes that are similar to Selim’s. You’d do that, Pars asks. It would be an honor, Ridvan replies, no one can talk bad about our courthouse. It would be a big honor for me to do this. Okay, Pars says, get ready. Your mission awaits you, Agent 007.

Selim undresses for a medical exam. An officer takes his coat. Goksu sews a tracker into the lining. The coat is put back.
Ilcey and Eren watch at the window, while a smug Selim walks out of the station lot. Ilgaz turns to Ceylin, they will be calling soon. Is your phone on silent? Ceylin says it’s on high volume.

Selim walks down the street, and a van pulls up to meet him. He steps inside. One of the men asks him if he had to take off his clothes. Yes. The man wants his jacket. He uses a bug sweeper, finds the tracker, smashes it and tosses it out the window. Let’s go. Selim smiles as they drive away.

And we are out.

Kelly, Diego does have a job. They haven't shown much of his actually working, but this is the way of all telenovelas...hardly anyone works. We saw Diego convince his new boss to lie about his salary so he would be considered able to care for Andrés.

Considering the monsters these Balkans are, I suppose the beauty parlor guy decided he wouldn't survive them whether or not he talked.

I didn't really like Derya ragging on Pars when he's trying to save Defne.

Enjoyed Gul and Merdan working together to get Merdan into the hospital. That was a very touching scene with Merdan talking to his son.

That flash drive scene was pretty confusing. Your recap helped, dondi, but I had a hard time figuring out what was going on. The mention of the Antep casino...is that where Our Team made a raid or were they referring to another one where someone stole?

I found it interesting that Omer decided not to share the flash drive contents with Yekta. Maybe there's hope for him after all. They've pretty much dropped the case of Hakul (is that right? A week goes by and the Turkish names leave my brain.).

Definitely must-see TV. Thanks again, dondi!

Gul and Merdan were very nice. The two families have peace for now. Everything will blow apart again, when Ceylin is arrested for killing Ilgaz.

They cut some of Merdan’s thoughts at Metin’s bedside. I didn’t have time to include them. This is in Merdan’s inner voice:

“You are lying here, your eyes closed, you do not resist. I was a shadow and a voice you couldn’t hear. If you ask, we are father and son, if you listen, we are two strangers. You always stood on your own two feet. I was proud of you from afar. You were honest and conscientious, you gave me grandchildren, but I couldn’t give you anything. I loved you more than myself, but I couldn’t show it. You were a father to me, too, as if you had no children of your own. You were not forced, but you opened the doors of your house to me. Merdan Kaya himself became small and lost.” End cut. They could have cut Osman and Aylin instead. That was a useless scene.

I’ve got questions about the flash drive contents, too. I reported what I saw but I can’t explain it. Our raid was not in Antep. It was somewhere in or near Istanbul. The video clearly shows faces of high level mafiosi. Maybe they will be able to arrest them. That’s if Omer turns it in. And it is interesting he’s keeping it from Yekta. Will the student surpass the master?

Yes, they dropped Haluk, killer Burak’s grandpa. Yekta was going to take control of his assets while he was in prison. They dropped a few characters with little or no explanation: Cuneyt, Makbule, Sahver, Ozlem.

The recap will be up very late this evening. I only saw the first 15 minutes live and I’ll have to watch the rest online today when I have time.

It is disappointing that they had to let Selim go. In addition, Pars has a PR problem that he tries to solve with some questionable maneuvers with Ridvan.

At least they don't show Defne's suffering.

I thought Derya's criticizing Par's move was ill-timed too. But, dang, her counsel is always sound.

Ridvan impersonating Selim in a pinch, so pleased with himself to please Pars.

Omer has no discernible persuasion skills to me, so why Selim gave him the flash drive is a mystery. I'm just glad to see what's on it.

Thanks for explaining Antep, dondi. They often race around referring to neighborhoods in Istanbul and I thought Antep might have been another neighborhood, rather than a different town.

Wow. Braulio is a total dog. Supposedly madly in love with Nuria, he's had sex with his wife, with Liana, and tried it on with the young woman carrying their adoptive child. Sorry, I can't seem to remember her name.

Santiago and Nuria finally connected, each kind of amused by the way they keep literally bumping into each other. And, of course, we saw two jealous females who will try to make her life miserable: Liana and Violeta (Chema's daughter, who Santi got a job in a Zepeda retail store for).

I'll say one thing for William Levy. He's perfected the art of looking at the female protagonist as if she's the most precious thing in the world.

Why in the hell doesn't Martha open her mouth and tell Santi exactly why she believes him guilty of murder. Oh, right...that would answer some questions for him...a real no-no in TNs.

Thanks novelera for the mini! I have no words for Braulio! “Total Dog” is way too nice for him! His head is bigger than the galaxy and his ego is even larger than that. I didn’t expect him to do that to Mariana, but I’m not surprised at all. Mariana is the one who surprised me by kissing him back! She seems to really like Amelia though, but isn’t beyond doing whatever it takes to get her way. She knows Braulio is trash, but doesn’t seem to mind digging through it. Maybe she has a plan????

I agree with you about Santi. The way he smiles and looks at Nuria screams romance, and she wasn’t totally unaware. Nuria’s so vulnerable and Santi is just what the doctor ordered. I loved the way he told Amelia about meeting that special someone. So first love like, lol.

Not trusting Chelo going to Jacinto about his suspicions. I think she just wants to make sure that he’s really not onto something so that she can save her own skin. Fausto has truly got the girl dumb and afraid….

As for Martha, I don’t get her. What exactly does she want from Santi? She wants him to confess and then what? He already did 5 yrs. Does she want him back in prison? Or for him to just admit he did it? I’m stumped????

Secrets #104 part 1

After episodes like these I ask myself, why do I watch dizis?

Ten minutes since Selim left the station. Ilcey wait by her phone for a call from the captors. Eren tells them the bad guys found the tracker. What about the other one, Ilgaz asks. It’s working, Eren replies, they found one, and didn’t bother looking for the other.
The call comes in. “The child is in Umraniye. Dakik Street, Third floor, Apt 10. You’ll find her there.”

Cinar tells the girls and Eyup that Ilgaz promised to have Defne home tonight. I keep going over what happened and I’m about to lose it! My hands are tied! There’s nothing I can do! Parla puts her hands on his. Cinar turns to Eyup, thank you so much. You guided us along the way. A great help. Tugce looks suspicious of Eyup [that’s my girl].

Don’t mention it, Eyup replies, anyone would do the same. No need to make a big deal. Eyup leaves the table to get more tea. Tugce takes the opportunity to tell Cinar, you adopted another stray. You forgot about the last one? Cinar doesn’t want to hear it [but maybe he should]. I’d love to say ‘I told you so’, she says, but I won’t this time. But if he turns out to be a psychopath, I won’t think twice about walking away.

Ridvan gets dressed to go on his mission. Pars looks and tells him to zip up carefully, make sure to hide your face. A small box falls from Ridvan’s pocket. I can explain, he tells Pars. Pars asks, is this what I think it is? Ridvan explains, I was going to propose to Ozge at your wedding, but I don’t know whether I should or not.

Pars asks if he can open the box. Yes. Wow, Ridvan! It’s a beautiful ring. You have good taste. Ozge will be very happy. You think so, Ridvan replies. Of course, Pars says, she obviously loves you. [Turkish] Sometimes you don’t know what to do with your hands and your feet. Your eyes are the worst, they tend to wander. The’ll get you in trouble, be careful.

Pars continues, you have many good qualities. And your hair is a 10. You take great care of it every morning, don’t you? Ridvan smiles at the recognition. Pars slaps him on the shoulder. Truth is you are like a diamond, Ridvan. And Ozge is a very smart girl. She must have seen a good person in you. That this person will not leave her halfway. You’re handsome, too. Ridvan says he’s embarrassed. No need to get emotional, Pars replies.

Ozge enters the room. Am I interrupting? Pars slips the ring box into his pocket. Join us, Pars replies, I’m just getting Ridvan ready for a mission. A mission? Ridvan tells her, there’s a hero in this office after all, Ozge. What kind of hero, she asks. I don’t understand. You can tell Ozge about your heroic deeds later, Pars says. Görüşürüz.
Ridvan is escorted from the courthouse. The press swarms with questions. Did you and your SIL kill Ferda? Was this a crime of passion? Can you answer? Ridvan is loaded into the back of the van. Pars is watching from the window.
Race to Umraniye to find Defne. Here’s that ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ team again. Eren gives the orders to watch the perimeter. Ilgaz and Eren head to the third floor. Ceylin goes into the building too. Ilgaz sees blood on the floor near a door. Defne! He kicks in the door. It’s not Defne. It’s Selim and he’s dead. The guys are stunned. Ceylin is horrified.

At the same time, Pars gets a call while he’s in his car. What? What was that? Are you sure? Pars yells at his driver to turn left. Pars tells the caller to send the location immediately.

Eren tells Ilgaz that Defne is not in the building. Selim was probably executed after he was picked up. They left him here so we would find him. I don’t think Defne was ever here. More frustration and panic for Ilgaz. I can’t believe this! Who are they? Who’s toying with us?

Ceylin gets a call. Ilgaz grabs the phone. Who the hell are you? You lied to us! The caller says, find your sister before she dies. What do you want, Ilgaz shouts. They hang up.

Defne is put into a walk-in refrigerator/freezer. She bangs on the door. Open up! She cries. Open up! Sounds like they turn the temp way down. It’s very cold. Defne cries for help. The lights go out. She’s terrified.

Pars arrives at a crime scene. He’s frantic. He makes his way through a crowd. Out of my way! Get back! An EMT stands at the back of the open van and moves away. Ugh. It’s Ridvan on the floor of the van. He’s dead, with his eyes open. I feel just like Pars, who sinks to his knees in grief before the sight. [Why did they do this to us?]

Anil shows up at the Umraniye site. Eren tells him to do his thing. Ceylin gets a message. A video of Defne in the freezer. Another message comes in. You have 40 minutes before she becomes hypothermic. Ilgaz tells the others, we have 40 minutes before she dies.

Ilgaz goes crazy. Where’s Defne?! He bangs on the roof of the car. He’s totally out of control. It’s frightening. Eren has to bear hug him. Calm down, Ilgaz, please, calm down. Ceylin pleads, you need to keep a cool head. We have 40 minutes to find Defne. They all need a few seconds to catch their breath.

Pars is still kneeling in back of the van. Do something, he cries, Do something! Maybe he’s not dead. The EMT says they already checked. Check again! Pars can’t stand to hear the noises of the crowd. Shut up! Be quiet! A cop tries to disperse the people. Let us do our work. Leave.

The EMT tells Pars, çok üzgünüm başsavcı, başiniz sağ olsun. I’m very sorry, Attorney General, my condolences. Pars covers his ears and whimpers, then shouts, enough! He gets up from his knees, climbs in the van and sits next to Ridvan. He places his hand on Ridvan’s head and cries. Ridvan, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.

Ceylin is still trying to bring Ilgaz to his senses. Eren is on the phone with Umut. Don’t hang up! Eren tells Ilcey, the bad guys in the van are moving. They are in Kavacik. The three hurry to the car. We see that Selim’s coat is still in that van.
Pars asks one of the gendarmes what happened. Tell me everything from the start, from the moment you left the courthouse. The gendarme says, we left the courthouse fine. We decided to drive around.

We get a flashback. Ridvan is in the back of the van, talking to Ozge. I’m in a police van, I swear. I even have a walkie talkie. That’s crazy, Ozge says, what kind of mission are you on? You gotta do what you gotta do, Ridvan replies, not every hero wears a cape. Some wear hoodies, he jokes. Are you going to the prison, she asks. No, he answers, we will head back after we drive around a little. Ozge tells him, I’ll wait for you. I’m always waiting for you. They trade “I love yous”.

Ridvan calls the gendarmes on the walkie talkie, how much longer? My girlfriend is waiting for me. One answers, don’t worry, Ridvan, we’ll be back soon. The van makes a sudden stop and Ridvan is jolted from his seat. He calls, what’s going on? Cars surround the van and thugs jump out with rifles. They threaten the gendarmes. Drop your weapons! Don’t move! No one is able to answer Ridvan’s call.

One of the thugs places an explosive on the back of the van to open the door. Guns are aimed at Ridvan. He puts his hands up. He’s told to get on the ground. What do you want, Ridvan asks. Shut up! A thug asks, are you scared?

Ridvan says, I’m not Selim. I’m a courthouse employee. I swear I’m not Selim! The thug replies, if you are not Selim, what are you doing here? Ridvan shouts, Salim is gone! He was released! I’m just taking his place! The other thug gets a call and confirms that Ridvan is telling the truth. Salim was released. He tells the accomplice, Cezik, to put down the gun. He’s not our guy.

Cezik lowers his gun. The other guy says, let’s go. Cezik turns, then turns back and aims at Ridvan. Ridvan panics and pleads, don’t, don’t! I’m telling the truth! I’m not Selim! Cezik fires 3 shots into poor Ridvan. [he should have been wearing a vest just in case!] Ridvan falls to the floor of the van. The other guy says, are you crazy? I told you Selim was released! Why did you shoot him? [Turkish] Cezik answers, his time had come.

The thugs get in their cars and leave. The gendarmes find Ridvan in the back. End flash.
A gendarme tells Pars one of the thugs got a call and told the others Selim had been released. They said a name, I think it was Cezik. He shot him anyway. So Cezik shot Ridvan, Pars asks. That’s what we heard, the gendarme replies, he was told to lower his gun. He said something about being it being his time after he killed him.

An emotional Pars asks the gendarmes if they heard anything else. Hear other names? Did you see their faces? No, we were held at gunpoint. Ridvan is taken from the van, placed on a gurney and zipped into a body bag. Pars is devastated.

Rat-fet shows up at the scene. He asks Pars, is it true? I heard someone from the staff had been shot. Pars asks, why wasn’t the officer sent on time? If he had arrived on time, Ridvan… would still be alive. Why wasn’t an office sent to replace Ridvan? He could have used his gun to protect himself.

Ridvan is put into the ambulance. Rafet asks, who told you to let Ridvan board the vehicle? There was nothing I could do. I came as soon as I heard the news. What happened, I don’t understand? Pars shouts, then figure it out at once! What happened? Figure it out, Chief Rafet! Understand?

Pars grabs Rafet by the coat. Bana bak! Look me in the eyes. You will find Ridvan’s killer. I will, Rafet replies. Pars repeats, you will find him. Rafet answers, our friend’s death will not go unpunished. I will find him. Rafet starts shouting orders to collect evidence. Look everywhere!

The race is still on to track the van down. How much time is gone, Ilgaz asks. Ceylin looks, 9 minutes.

Parla asks Cinar, if you had gone back to school, you could have started over. If you still had that chance, what would you do? Cinar says, even if I went back to school, I’d still do what I do now. He adds, I’m kidding. He doesn’t know. He wasn’t interested in becoming a police officer. But if we go all the way back, if I had to start over… I’d be a doctor. [please tell me he’s kidding again.]

Cinar continues, feeling so powerless has gotten to me. Parla kids around. Dr. Cinar Kaya… Dr. Cinar Kaya, please come to the OR. [if he could only give himself a brain transplant.]

Thank goodness a nurse comes out to stop this nonsense. She has good news. Metin is awake. Cinar asks if he can see his dad. Yes, only for a few minutes.

Eren speaks with Umut. Umut says the van stopped. Ilgaz thinks it could be a van right ahead. How much time? 19 minutes. Eren asks Umut, are they turning? Yes. That’s the van. We’ll catch them now, Eren says. He cuts off the van.

Ilgaz tells Ceylin to stay in the car. He gets out with Eren. Their guns are drawn. Get out of the car! Get out! Eren fires a shot into the air. The occupants get out with their hands up. A thug asks, who are you? Eren yells, you idiot, we’re the police!

A thug says, you’re making a mistake. Eren pulls a gun from one’s pocket. Another says, we haven’t done anything. No talking! The thugs have been disarmed. Ilgaz holds his gun on one—where’s Defne? He plays dumb. What Defne? I don’t know. Where’s my sister? More denials. We know nothing, we were on our way home.

Ilgaz shouts, this ends now! Where is my sister? Eren asks, so you didn’t kill Selim? One admits, yes we killed him. We did as we were told. But we don’t know anything about Defne. Ilgaz asks, who gave the order? The one Ilgaz is holding answers, if I tell you, they will kill us. Ilgaz fires a shot into the air. He says, I’ll put the next one into your head. You have until I count three.

Ceylin covers her ears and closes her eyes. Ilgaz counts. One! The thug pleads, Abi! Two! Abi, I don’t know! Three! The thug shouts, Rahmi! Ilgaz asks, who is Rahmi? Rahmi gave the order, the thug answers. Who is he? Where is he? Is he with my sister? The thug says Rahmi ordered her death. Where is he, Ilgaz shouts. I don’t know, I swear, the thug replies.

Ilgaz asks again and the thug says he’s in Beykoz. We were headed to the parking lot that’s next to the ophthalmology hospital. By the beach. Eren stays with the thugs and Ilcey head off to Beykoz. How much time left? 15 minutes left.

Back up arrives for Eren. He tells them he’s taking a car. He calls Umut. Find the ophthalmology hospital in Beykoz. Send a team there. Hurry!

Cinar enters Metin’s room. Dad… Metin opens his eyes. You really scared us, Dad, but you never gave up. You stayed strong. Metin jokes, you thought you could get rid of me that easily? You think I don’t know you, Cinar replies, the amazing Metin Kaya! The toughest man there is! Metin asks, Defne? Where’s my princess? Is she home? Cinar freezes. Metin asks, where is Defne? She was with me on the dolmuş.

Dr. of Stupidity Cinar Kaya says, no, Dad, let’s talk later. Metin gets agitated. Cinar tries to calm him down. Metin panics, they killed her, didn’t they? They killed my daughter and you won’t tell me! Don’t talk like that, Cinar says, that’s not what happened! Stop, calm down! She didn’t die! She was kidnapped! Where is she, Metin asks. Cinar says she’s being held hostage. We don’t know where she it. But Ilgaz is on the case. Everyone is looking for her. They will find her. When has Ilgaz ever let you down? Metin has trouble breathing and alarms go off. Dad!

Nurses rush in. Cinar panics. He’s not breathing! I don’t know what happened! [you upset him, you idiot!] The nurses work to stabilize Metin.

Ceylin tells Ilgaz there’s 8 minutes left.

Pars is still at the crime scene. He climbs into the back of the van and sits while evidence is gathered all around. He takes the ring box out of his pocket and opens it. So sad.

Ilcey make it to the location in Beykoz. Ilgaz yells for Rahmi. Ceylin spots a nearby fish market.

An anguished Ozge emerges from her office. She sobs… Ridvan… Derya shows up. Ozge asks her, take me to Ridvan! Derya hugs her and tries to hold her up. Don’t let go, she tells Ozge. It’s okay. I’ll take you, we’ll go together.

Ilgaz asks a man at the market, where is Defne? The man has no idea. Ceylin points to a door. Ilgaz tells the cops to arrest the man. Ilcey head for the door. Ilgaz breaks the lock on the freezer door. Defne is inside and he rushes to her. She’s unconscious.

Defne? Can you hear me? She’s very cold. Princess… Defne…

And we are out!

Oh boy. Amen with "wonder why I watch dizis". I've thought before that the Turks have a lot in common with the Greeks, despite their pretty awful history. Turks seems to like tragedy as well. This was just heart wrenching. And it was cruel to put the sweet scene with Pars and Ridvan earlier in the episode. Pars was kind of teasing him again.

Yes, Tugce is a smart cookie. I assume the other stray she accused Cinar of bringing around was Burak, considering that she mentioned a psychopath. And Cinar did let himself be drawn in by Burak.

It seems that the Balkan mafiosi knew that Selim had something on them, even though they don't probably know about the flash drive. So the whole pressure campaign to scare Ilgaz into stopping prosecuting and to let Selim go was so that they could silence him. Selim gave Omer the flash drive; but, judging by his smile in the vehicle, thought he was getting away.

These mafiosi appear to be sadists. Once they had Selim, what point is there in killing a child?

Maybe Pars spoke for all of us. Enough! He lost Neva, is about to lose his baby, and now Ridvan. Sigh.

Braulio at the breakfast table with Amelia and Mariana agreeing to attend prenatal classes, and scrutinizing everything Mariana does……he’s so despicable. Mariana was hilarious when she asked Braulio if he was born this way, hahaha!

His despicable azz also threatens Lianna again with revealing the painful truth of her parents death. She was a child and was annoying as any child her age could be. She certainly didn’t purposely cause the death of her mom and dad……and her biggest mistake was sharing it with Braulio. Still, Braulio calls her as he sees her——- being just like him—-and probably isn’t that far off the mark.

Meanwhile, Violetta, another piece of work, overhears a conversation with Chalo, Santi and Nuria, and accuses Nuria of being a hypocritical player. Now that’s funny! Girl, mind your business and go hang a dress or something! Both her and Lianna are sickening with “ only game in town Santi!” Then there’s Chalo! Showing up at the clothing store with lunch for Nuria like he’s supposed to!?! Then questioning Santi about who he is!! Santi was cool though. Not only didn’t he have time for this idiocy, but he got a call about Gaitan and was out.

Unfortunately Roberto also shared the information about Gaitan with Braulio, and this just keeps him, once again, one more step ahead of Santi…….

Martha had a heart to heart with Marianna about giving up her own child, and pleaded with Mariana not to do it. That’s so unfair of Martha cause sometimes——-no many times——- it is best for the child. It may not have been the best thing for Martha, but she’s only looking at it from her side of things, and is not considering that it was the best thing for her daughter. That’s your problem Martha, you only think about yourself. You practically bullied Amelia into staying married to your beast of a son, and now you’re undermining her efforts to have a baby that she can’t physically birth. You suck! You and your birthed son!

Nuria is starting to care…she definitely had some jealousy where Santi and Violetta were concerned, and Santi picked up on it. I think it gave him a “rush,” lol.

Chelo and Jacinto share a passionate kiss after Fausto and his special brand of crazy berates and threatens her for lying to him about where she was. Problem is—-well one of her problems—- she messed up her only way out by driving the getaway car. It was only a matter of time before everybody figured out it was Fausto who robbed the bank, like the Captain already has. Fausto was so on point calling her “too dumb” cause “that” she is, and “that” she also had to admit.

Diego returned Andres to the orphanage and Andres let loose his anger! Didn’t know a 7 yr old had so much rage inside! Whew! Diego was blown away and left crying and blubbering like a baby! I felt really bad for both of them.

Santi has cornered Marcos Gaitan. Will he get some answers before Tigre carries out Braulio’s orders to do whatever it takes????? We shall see……..

Yes, these writers do it to us again. It's always an exercise in frustrating the main characters from finding out what they need to know until the last week. Santiago, of course, calls his father who, of course, is sitting with Braulio to foil Santiago's getting the truth out of Gaitan. I have zero confidence he'll get anything out of him tonight. Probably Tigre will shoot him.

I'm not liking what the writers are doing with Violeta. Santiago approached her to give her her father's letter. We don't know why she's so against contact with him. But, being kindhearted, he listened to her plea for a job and got her one. Now she says "he's mine". Only in a telenovela.

Yes, Martha should realize that part of Braulio and Amalia reconciling was his agreeing to adopt. And now she's suddenly all concerned about this young woman and putting a spoke in the wheel of what her DIL wants? Only in a telenovela. And I'm totally sick of Martha and ready to FF every scene she's in.

Wow, now Fausto is turning into an abuser of Consuelo. And the writers must have read the symptoms of an abuser: victim can't go anywhere unless he approves it and usually must accompany her.

Also it looks like the social worker is going to arrange for Andres to be transferred to Mexico City. Poor Diego.
