Well there goes David and Luci - at least for awhile. I'm disappointed, not because I am even a little bit invested in David and Luci or care; it is just a horrible message to send. Hey kids, want to run your dad's life and get your way? Take a few pills and throw a fit!!! Everyone just says that David and Luci need to break up for Fer and no one contridicts it!!! Fernanda needs to be grounded - or allowed to leave since she's 18, no one should cater to her fits or whims! Although, it was nice to see she at least had a moments' pause when hearing about daddy's breakup instead of just celebrating. We still haven't heard her utter one word of concern for David. Not nice to see is that not even Susan had one word of protest of the breakup. No statement of 'You don't have to break up to please Fer!' Instead we get some bs about making sacrifices for love.....gag.

Marta hears Lil stating the obvious and now she's on a mission to protect David's kids!!! Oh, and defend Luci...I guess. Notice how every sentence was for the kids....and Luci. It's like she learned to add Luci as an afterthought, but it's still seems true that who she loves most and is most concerned about is Bobby and Fern since she was definitely leaving when it was just a matter of defending Luci. In fact, we didn't hear her utter one word of concern for how the fall out of anything that's happened might affect Luci.

It was funny to hear Marta affects Lil so much she's not even free to paint the walls with her around!!! Isn't Marta the help? I mean Lil reminds her of this a 100 times a week. Why would Marta have so much weight Lil felt like she couldn't redecorate with her around?

Leon bugged me in this episode, which is different. His whole argument with Sonia was the very definition of contrived but this whole no one can say a word about my momma except me and Luci and you better pick a side thing was ridiculous! As a rule, I can maybe understand that sentiment, but it goes out the door when you are living with other people and causing scandals that effect the whole household (or vineyardhold). A hostile work environment has been created and the employees are affected by it; Marta has her part in creating that environment, it's unreasonable to expect them to have no opinion about it or dare to speak a word against saint Marta. Sonia's comments weren't even disrespectful or harsh.

Highlight of the episode was Juan and Gut - Cocky Juan thinking he's about to get Torres off his back with his buddy Gut's support and Gut saying if you aren't guilty, you'll be fine, Torres is just doing his job!! Hahahahahahahahaha

Vino. "Vineyardhold." Love it! And yep more ridiculous back and forth back and forth on David and Luci, Marta and Lilian, Fer and her sense of privilege--and as seasoned novela watchers we can all be pretty sure that David and Luci will be back together--but will it be once, twice, more? Miguel and Erika get closer and closer and seem to be excellent business partners as well as romantic ones. And why am I not surprised that Lilian and Graciela are staying on? Btw, I am leaving tomorrow for Houston for my youngest daughter's wedding. I will be gone a week and will probably not be commenting again until a week from Wednesday. Thank goodness for those long Caray Caray summaries!

"VINO" DISCUSSION:

Darcy: Crazy Whacky Graciela still covering her tracks ? I am assuming Perla put Lisa's cracked phone back into the drawer of Juan's desk ?

SpanProf: I just love this LONG summary discussions of episodes like this week.

Big question is what do both Juan & Creepy Mark have planned for Hypocrite Gutierrez, Carito, Susan, etc., ?

Vino. Gutierrez may not be as easy to corrupt as Juan thought.

OT

SpanProf - Congratulations to you and your daughter!! Enjoy your trip and your family!

OT Thanks, Darcy!

Today's episode is more of the same and leaving me unexpired so I am good to quote a comment from the original recap that cracked me up: 'Perla is pretty much waiting for Mark to kill her. He has no specific reason to yet, but he might get bored!' LOL That's sad, but incredibly funny. Julie's comment.

Also mentioned several times is that tomorrow's episode is must see TV, there's no hint of what will happen of course but hopefully we'll have some action!!!

So as not to harp on the same issues I ranted about all last week, I'll just comment that a lot of the original patio seemed to think Luci wasn't really into David and her feelings really lay with Miguel. I don't get that at all. The actors possibly had better chemistry, but Luci never said anything commitmentlike to Miguel. It was pretty clear from the beginning of me that she didn't like him enough and when they broke up it was because she couldn't say Te Amo. OTOH, she's all about the Te Amo with David and has said several times he is the love of her life. I am not at all invested but I do think Luci and David is/are the true love story of the Vineyard. I think Luci just feels like she has so little in life she wants what's hers to be hers. David is her love, but Miguel is/was her best friend, her partner in crime, her steady friend. I think she is jealous of Erika, but not because she wants Miguel romantically, she just wants him to be devoted to HER in friendship! And even though that's selfish, I can't really blame her. She had her life ripped away from her, her mother, brother, and later her father. She's not a citizen yet even now, her mother is only there for her physically, definitely not mentally or emotionally; half the vineyard wants her out and every time she turns around she's the reason for everyone's problems!!! Luci needs her own Cesar (loyal friend there for you 100% no matter what) and she needed Miguel to be that for her but he couldn't because he wanted more.

I forgot to comment yesterday. The new development was Juan's accusation that Luci and Grace could be sisters!!! LOL He enjoyed making that suggestion too! And I enjoyed watching, Juan is the villain but when he's smirking and grining he's very fun to watch! Let's face it, not much here is fun to watch!

Both Lil and Marta decried the possibility that Luci could be Fernando's though and said the affair happened after both Luci and Leon were already born, so it's a red herring?? Maybe? Or the ladies are lying?? Hmm... I don't really care but since both Luci and Leon were born in Mexico the only way Luci could be Fernando's is if he and Marta somehow knew each other way back in Mexico and then Marta came to the US and just happened to work for the man who just happened to marry Fernando's other daughter? And they all became entwined in the US too?? It's a novela so anything is possible, but it's a little convoluted...I guess we'll see. For now, the ladies are convinced Juan was lying to be a jackass, which is my current thought too!

One thing I'm been meaning to comment on: Miguel keeps saying he has to be involved in the police investigation to clear his name, but does anyone actually suspect Miguel of wrongdoing?? Anyone??? Anywhere??? The only person I recall suggesting it was Juan and no one takes Juan seriously!!!!! I don't think the police suspect Miguel.
