Darcy: Looking forward to seeing your recap for today's upcoming episode. Hoping law enforcement arrest Creepy Mark & Co.,

Sorry Steve can't help you with the recap, but the original recap is still available to be read.

You'll have to excuse my briefs comments today, I am not sure if it's a cold or just allergies but I having been feeling too good this week and I am exhausted. I did watch the episode and I know there's lots to comment on but I don't have the energy.

I suppose the biggest happening from today was Lil and Marta's big loud argument where Marta doesn't just say but yells out that she was Lil's husband's mistress and David, Fernanda and Luci all heard her loud and clear!!!! I already hated Marta, I wonder if Fern and/or Luci will be joining the club come tomorrow?

Vino. Gutierrez saves Miguel--every once in a while he does something decent. We don't see how Carito got away from Mark. She wasn't disfigured or killed, so I'm assuming he let her go after that extreme threat, presumably because if he did either it wouldn't be hard to catch him and he'd spend the rest of his life in jail. Anyway, the threat seems to have worked because Carito is now on her way to Mexico. Indeed! That shouting match between Marta and Lilian that just about everyone hears. They now know all about Marta's affair with Lilian's husband. Totes embarrassing! Otherwise, more back and forth between Luci and David, more of the psychiatrist working his evil on Fer, etc. etc.

OT. Btw, I hope you're feeling better, Darcy.

I am feeling a little better but still not great. I didn't watch today but I will tomorrow and be back to comment sometime tomorrow.

OT Off to pick up my husband at the airport. Later today is fine.

David was the voice of reason!!! What??? That had to be a first! David kept his head and gave good advice to one and all. Speaking the rationale that no one else exhibited - and I mean NO ONE! I was annoyed with every single other character throughout the episode.

Luci, Lil, Leon, and Fernanda - because they reacted to the big reveal as if the affair happened yesterday!!! I can sort of give Luci and Leon a pass since the affair meant their mom cheated on their dad and that would hurt no matter when you heard about it, but the reaction is still over the top. Screaming 'how could you?' at someone over something they did 20ish years ago is just odd to me. They treat it as if the person standing in front of them in the moment made the decision. Granted Marta doesn't seem too repentant in this case, but most of us wouldn't make the same mistake today that we made 20 years ago because we are older and hopefully wiser. None of these people are judging the actions of a young Marta, all of them are judging the older Marta as if she did it last week. It's weird. Kudos to David for saying he wasn't going to fire Marta over something that happened so long ago. I am not in any way saying it doesn't matter, or it's okay because it was long ago, but there's a different way to react... it made me sad that no one really asked questions of Marta, or gave her the opportunity to tell her story, they just condemned her. I mean Lil was going to of course, but Fernanda, Luci, and Leon are supposed to love Marta. Though again, I give even more leeway to Luci because Marta's choices have directly affected her in so many ways and she's been neglected and treated like second class by her mom.

Everyone - because they said that Lil was the one in the right all along and now, they know and feel bad for judging Lil. Two wrongs don't make a right! Did Lil have reason to dislike Marta, yep! Does that excuse 20 years of evil and bitchiness? Does that excuse her being horrible to Luci? Being racist? Being cold? Snobby? Rude to the employees?? Etc etc etc. NO!!! Marta may have been wrong, but Lil is still a bitch!

Luci - mostly because I'm tired of her yelling!!! She yells every time she's upset, and it grates! I don't know if it's the script or the actor's choice but too many times we see that the only way a character can show anger and/or upset is by yelling. There are many many many ways to express yourself without yelling and Luci (and Fern) should develop some.

Fern - because her character makes no sense! Again, maybe I am just mad at the writing, but Fern is an incredibly selfish and self-absorbed 18-year-old! She shouldn't care this much about an affair that happened before she was born. Case and point, Gracie, an even more self-absorbed and selfish woman; when she first heard her daddy cheated on mommy, she laughed!!! (Remember that!) Gracie didn't care one iota about daddy being a cheater or mommy's feelings being hurt. Fern shouldn't care either. She's shown 0 concern for anyone other than herself - well maybe a little for Bobby from time to time - and Nana has always been good to HER so she should be at the most a little concerned or uncomfortable with the revelation, not devastated by it.

I was thinking about it and throughout this whole dad might be dating/dad is dating Luci thing; I don't think Fernanda once even uttered a single sentence about wanting daddy to be happy or caring how her father felt. Her ONLY concern is how she feels, what she thinks and how it affects her. She's said over and over again that dad is a horrible selfish person for not catering to her every whim, if she isn't even concerned about her father why in the world would she care about the grandma she doesn't even like and a grandpa she surely doesn't remember?? (maybe never met)

Vino

Marta - because just as I was actually starting to feel sorry for her, she reminds me she doesn't deserve it. She waited exactly 10 mins to play the martyr card??? Oh, woe is me, no one understands me, and they are judging me without even knowing the whole story so I guess I will leave! Laying the guilt trip of 'it's so hard to lose the love of your children' on Luci and Leon the day of the revelation!!! I mean if everyone is still treating you like this months later, I would totally agree, but sainted martyr Marta can't take even 10 mins of consequences without turning and running because everyone is picking on her?? She continues to try to justify herself! Continues to try to insinuate that Luci is doing the same thing with David! Didn't say one word to make it seem like she was sorry or had made a mistake! She's sorry it didn't work out and sorry everyone found out, but I get the impression that she's only sorry that Fernando died. She's not wishing she had never had an affair; she's still wishing Lil's husband had lived and left Lil for her like he said he would. And where would everyone be then? Marta doesn't care, she only cares that she would've been happy, in her mind.

Vino. Totally agree about Marta, Darcy. Not to mention most of the episode was back ad forth, back and forth about the fallout of her revelations. Annoying. Only at the end do we learn that Juan is planning to destroy David's crop.
