Vino. Happy Thanksgiving to all! I was glad to see that the cooperation about irrigation of David's winery is going well. Adolfo is being extremely generous, especially as the 2 wineries are in competition. I would say Adolfo deserves to win just on the basis of his generosity if nothing else. In other news, we and both Lilian and Marta now know that Fernando was a jerk who didn't love either of them. Somehow I'm not surprised. You would think that might make Lilian be forgiving toward Marta, but of course not. She's too evil. Graciela keeps trying to manipulate Fer, ho hum, though despite the crooked psychiatrist, Fer seems to be acquiring a more tolerant view of her father, Luciana etc--I expect it won't last. And the jealousy between Luciana and Erika is annoying as usual--especially since Luciana doesn't love him. Dog in the manger theme again. Yep, ho hum again!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving SpanProf, I didn't watch today, but I am off tomorrow so I will watch then and get caught up.

You have an interesting point about Lilian being more forgiving, but I wonder, does it hurt any less to be treated just because you learn your husband is even worse than you thought he was? Marta seemed to think so, she thought that they should be buddies because they are both victims, but I don't know. I still think that part of the problem is that Marta isn't sorry. She has never expressed any regret for what she did and we've seen her actively taunt Lil about the affair.... I suppose there could be an argument made that she was driven to that by Lil's mistreatment, but I still don't see any reason for Lil to be motivated to buddy up to Marta, even if she wasn't evil, which of course is an issue too. As you know, I don't like either woman.
 

Vino. You make some good points, Darcy. Neither Lilian nor Marta is anywhere near being an exemplary human being. Graciela seems to have doubled down on her efforts to manipulate Fer and Bobby. David is acting like a jealous jerk toward Miguel, and Erika and Luciana still don't trust each other (double ho hum). The 1 new thing I noticed is that since his scheme to deprive David's vineyard of water didn't work, Juan has come up with some new evil scheme to destroy it. I can hardly wait. :)

Speaking of schemes: Juan & Creepy Mark upping the ante even further. Something tells me Creepy Mark will go after Susan again.

OT. Steve: My husband, a San Francisco native, was overjoyed to see the 49ers win too. I am a Napa native, but it was my father and brothers who were 49ers fanatics.

Yep, David and Adolfo didn't get the proper permits and Juan has turned them in!!! I admit I am very ignorant about permitting so I has surprised by this development. I know you need a permit to build things, but I wouldn't have thought you'd need a permit to alter your irrigation system. Apparently, you do! Or at least in novelaland you do, perhaps in real life too.

On the OG recap everyone was saying that Luci should have slapped Lil back, but I actually thought Luci was asking for that slap, and I was twice as annoyed when she responded with 'How could you slap me, you have no right!' You stand there right in the face of the woman, yelling a bunch of stuff you really don't know anything about and then you call her worthless and tell her she is going to die alone and miserable and you're righteously indignant when she slaps you??? And Luci made a comment about how Lil tried to destroyed her mother's happiness by breaking up Marta and Gut. Doesn't Luci know that Lil dated Gut first? And that once again Marta went after a man that Lil was involved with, heck, Marta even admitted that she originally started dating Gut just to annoy Lil...now, Luci wants to blame Lil for the fallout?? I don't want to defend Lil, she is evil, I just want them to start getting onto her for something she's actually guilty of, instead of attacking her for these ridiculous reasons that make no sense.

Gut proves he's a jerk again!!! This character is the most oddly written character I can remember seeing, he's all over the board! Maybe he suffers from multiple personality disorder???

Fern still wants daddy to fall in love with Auntie Psychotic, but in her quiet moments she writes her doubts in her journal. Gracie thought David would skip the wine competition to go to her art exhibit??? LOL Talk about irrational confidence! I was just thinking the other day that Joselo might be gone and thus have escaped in possible harm, but he's back on the phone with Gracie today.

Speaking of danger, I don't really understand why Juan is so desperate to have Carito show up...if she stays in Mexico she can't be questioned or turn against them, I would think he'd want her to stay gone!

And then the most eventful happening, Erika has some sort of breathing issue (asthma attack?) and faints away. I figured when they mentioned her health scares previously that it would be showing up again, but this felt sudden. We didn't even get a couple scenes of labored breathing as a forewarning; she was just suddenly unable to breath!!! And Aldofo is losing it on both Miguel and Luci, but that could just be a panic reaction.

Adolfo needs to stop overreacting & try toget his daughter major medical attention ASAP. Something tells me Erika will NOT be among the living when this Telenovela ends.

Carito will have to return to the US sooner or later.

 

Vino. Erika's attack might have been a bit sudden, but you were so right, Darcy, about her having a serious health problem. And given that she has evidently been suffering from asthma(?) all her life, it was pretty nasty that Adolfo blamed Miguel. And major beanie hat about the construction fine, on several grounds. First, both David and Adolfo have owned vineyards for years and they don't know what permits they need to make alterations? In the second place, they don't seem to have even started construction of the irrigation pipelines yet. They haven't even figured out what kind of pipes to use or the exact pathway for them through the vineyards. There should still be time to do the paperwork. And I'm assuming that in Sonoma County wineries are a very big deal, as they were in Napa County when I was growing up. They're a source of revenue and a tourist attraction. You'd think the county authorities would be bending over backwards to accommodate them.

Once that happens, I've got a gut feeling Creepy Miguel & Carito will end up together in all likelihood.
